Within the first 3 months of having the refrigerator, two of the plastic brackets that hold the small shelves on the door broke, leaving them useless (you could not put them on anything to hold it). Then a few months later, the bracket that holds the glass for the shelf broke apart, and I had to use heavy duty bandages to secure it. Now today, 2 days before Thanksgiving, the shelf crumbled leaving plastic and glass all over my refrigerator and no shelf to hold the bin. This is ridiculous! I've read several reviews and these appliance makers should be ashamed of themselves. It's not a 20 dollar item that needs replaced but something that costs hundreds of dollars. When I called Customer Service the first time, they were rude and told me where I could buy parts. This needs to stop and the companies need to make reparations to its consumers.

We purchased a complete line of Frigidaire Gallery kitchen appliances (refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave ) on 08/16/2010. These products have had more repairs in 2 years than my 10-year old car. The refrigerator has been repaired 3 times under the warranty (1 year) and now the ice maker has gone bad again (out of warranty). The dishwasher has had the motor replaced ($200), not under warranty by a few months. No help from Frigidaire customer service. The microwave smelled like burning electrical. If you still feel like you want to buy Frigidaire products, get the longest extended warranty you can get. You'll need it.

Noisy side by side Gallery: I recently bought all new Gallery line Frigidaire appliances. All work very well but the fridge makes a buzzing sound like a cell phone on buzz alert is going off inside it - very random. The repair guy replaced the little fan/damper that connects the freezer to the refrigerator twice and has talked to the engineers at Frigidaire. He can’t do anything else. I exchanged the unit for another - same thing. It’s only bad if you have a quiet house (I like to read in complete quiet). I don’t even hear it with the TV on, etc. It’s very annoying if dead quiet. I just want to scream “Someone answer that ** phone!”

I bought a new refrigerator from Lowe’s in Spring of 2011, and from day 1, the top icemaker took forever to make ice and was extremely loud. I didn't think too much of it because we had the party icemaker in the bottom freezer. Then in the beginning of this summer (2012), it slowly started to make ice less and less. Then, it stopped all together and started leaking water down the back into the bottom freezer. If I hadn't noticed it, there would have been a flood in my kitchen. I called Lowe’s where I bought the fridge (and whole matching kitchen set), and they referred me to the repair company because it was just over a year and I had paid for the extended warranty.
I called them and they sent a repairman out, for which, of course, I had to use vacation time to have the appointment. Once they saw the fridge, they immediately said that the icemaker in my unit was the most complicated to work on. They ordered parts and left. I scheduled another service call once the items were delivered. They came out and replaced the motherboard, and it didn't fix the problem. So I had to call them back to try to repair it again. When the repairman came, he stated that they had lost the contract with Frigidaire and he couldn't work on it. So that was another wasted vacation day.
Then, I called them back because I still had no ice and it was leaking. They came back and repaired the seals around the unit and a couple other small pieces. They have completely replaced or repaired every item associated with the icemaker and I still have no ice and a water leak. This has been going on for months with no resolution. I just want a new refrigerator because this one is a lemon.

Frigidaire Galaxy loud buzzing - This is my third time with different issues with this refrigerator. The first was a bad door alignment that left a gap at the top of the gasket on the refrigerator door. The second was frost accumulation in the freezer. The latest is a loud humming that the service people say nothing can be done about it and I am to expect some humming as normal. Humming? Once this thing gets going, I cannot stand to be in the same room with it! The service people informed me that since the refrigerator is cooling, what is my problem? My problem is that I've never heard anyone's refrigerator make such a racket and the company keeps sending the same people out here! Just before I moved, I bought another brand of refrigerator that indeed had a slight buzzing sound which was fine, but this thing? How I wish all of my appliances didn't match so I could take it to the dump! Don't buy this brand!

Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator - I purchased an extended warranty and it was attempted to be repaired at least 6 times for water leaking from the ice maker inside the fridge. Then the water was leaking out from the ice maker running down the front of the fridge. Then the french freezer door had the track replaced and the drawer is still getting hung up on the left side. Finally, another attempt was made to fix the ice maker and the part they needed, they didn't even carry, so they had no other choice but to replace my fridge. I'm waiting on my voucher to come in the mail. I purchased my product at Lowe's in June 2011 and had nothing but problems with it.

I purchased the Frigidaire Gallery (Model LGUB2642LF, Serial 4A10902944) refrigerator at Lowe’s on 03/17/2011. So far, we have had Accent Appliance repair a drawer slide that was defective - put in a new icemaker and a new gasket on the freezer door. Now, the top icemaker is dripping water continually; the ice is only half-frozen, and it sticks together. I am sick of this refrigerator. I have been married almost 55 years and have had Whirlpool refrigerators and started out with a GE. A refrigerator usually lasts 12 to 15 years without any problems for us. This Frigidaire is nothing but a piece of junk, and I don't have the money to just throw it away and get another one, but I will never buy another Frigidaire. I think where it is manufactured is why it is defective; there is not the craftsmanship in the manufacturing or quality control, or it would have been checked out further before it came to me. When workers have no pride in the work, this is the kind of junk you get. I am angry, frustrated, and very dissatisfied with this refrigerator. I really resent having to deal with this, and I think the whole refrigerator should be replaced - it is a piece of trash.

This refrigerator caught fire. For about a month, the refrigerator was resetting itself. I would open it to find all the food was warm and it stopped making ice. I thought it was the kids being in it too much. It was summer and hot. Then one night, about 3 weeks later, my brother came home from work at 2 in the morning and smelled something burning. He could not find where it was coming from. Then he heard a noise coming from the refrigerator and saw smoke coming from the back of it. He moved it out to find flames coming out the back. Thank God he came home when he did. I could have lost my house. I have only had the refrigerator for a 1 1/2 now. I just paid it off. After reading all the comments, I am buying another refrigerator from another company instead of getting it fix.

I bought a new Frigidaire refrigerator and within three months, my freezer started accumulating large amounts of frost especially around the door and fan. The bottom part (the refrigerator) temperature went crazy. My milk turned to cottage cheese, I lost all my Labor Day food that was cooked for the holiday. After repeated calls, a tech came out and replaced the gasket. I am so unsatisfied with this product and the company that sold it to me. I will never purchase a Frigidaire product again.

I was cleaning the back of my Frigidaire gallery fght1834kw6. I opened the back to dust out and wipe out. There is no way to get at the drip pan to wash it. So, I went to the front, took off the grid and looked at it. Two screws were holding it on. I can’t take that off, so I looked it up on their site. It says it doesn’t come out at all. It drips water and then it dries. In time, it will smell. I am sorry I bought any Frigidaire. We just moved to this state and our house back in Wisconsin, we had all GE products. I never had problems. Years ago, Frigidaire had a bad rep. Never again.

I’d like to say that I am now completely satisfied with the treatment I received from Frigidaire. A while back, I complained about a side-by-side that caused us great aggravation because of its constant malfunctioning. The unit was either too hot or too cold, causing us to lose a lot of food. Thanks to Elizabeth **, a responsive and caring employee of the company, the problem has been totally rectified. She was there for us and helped us solve the problem. I would buy again from this company. Thank you, Ms. **. You are a true asset to the company.

Our Frigidaire side-by-side is approaching five years old. From day one, we’ve had nothing but trouble with it. It’s the same issue every time: the temperature control doesn’t cool properly. We’ve lost countless amounts of food and have experienced stress and aggravation from this irreparable appliance. Throughout the years we’ve had this lemon, we’ve had a total of twenty service calls - all for the same issue. We bought the service policy, but the recurring problems continue to be unsolvable. We called the customer service number (Electrolux), but were only offered an extension of our service policy. The latest is that a very experienced technician, who came out (a second time) this month, talked on the phone to another technician because it was impossible to figure out why the refrigerator is still not working!
He said we may never find out what the problem is. He also told us that we have to unplug the unit periodically, leave it off for a few minutes, and then plug it in again. This is not easy for my husband or me as we can’t lift heavy things. We have been to hell and back with this Frigidaire refrigerator and are getting no satisfaction from the company. No one is allowed to speak to the head person there. All I would like is for the company to send someone to our home to witness what is happening with the unit and to come to a fair agreement, which, in my opinion, is to provide us with a new unit. This lemon is too much for anyone to bear. I caution you to think twice before you buy any Frigidaire product. The company does not care about their customers. To us, this is an extreme case and we believe we should be compensated fairly for the aggravation we've experienced from this refrigerator from hell.

I called in to report my refrigerator because the freezer is icing up and causing the refrigerator to not cool properly. I was given two numbers - Sun Appliance and Town 'n Country, both of which will not come to my area to do service. I have called back several times because they keep telling me they are trying to find someone to help me but I've heard nothing. My appliance is still under warranty and I don't think that I should have to pay anything for someone to come here and fix it - which looks like what I'm going to have to do if I want a refrigerator that actually works. I am just very aggravated with this whole process. I should not be going through this on an appliance that is under warranty.

I have model PLHS67EESB4, it is 5 years old and the ice and water dispenser quit working. I called Frigidaire and advised of the problem and ordered the part suggested by the phone representative. The parts that were sent were for the control panel for the refrigerator not the ice and water dispenser. Upon calling Frigidaire, the phone rep stated we had given the wrong information. When asked if the refrigerator was made in China, the rep advised yes, but some are made in the US. That explained the cheap electronics. The rep wanted $5 restocking fee because they shipped the wrong part. It is going to take 24-48 hours for Frigidaire to call me back to see if they will take the parts back.

My last Kenmore refrigerator lasted 20 years without a squawk. The ice maker never functioned well. In December, I finally called and a technician who installed an IM board and said it would probably go out again. 6 months later, it did go out again. I called again, a technician was sent out and I was told, because I did not have an extended warranty, it would cost me $50 for diagnosis, plus parts and labor when it was installed. He would not give me a guarantee after the installation because this ice maker is notorious for having problems. I cannot get a warranty now. I have a $2,500 refrigerator that is 15 months old that does not work properly and Frigidaire will not stand behind its products after several phone calls to them.

The fire department just left our home. Our refrigerator caught on fire! We have a side-by-side, and when I opened the refrigerator door, there was a pop and flames started shooting out from the top. The entire refrigerator was filled with black soot, and the electrical burning stench was overwhelming. Once the fire was out, 6 different firemen said they had never seen a refrigerator burning on the inside. The interior was melted, and the plastic was dripping down the inside. It's an absolutely terrifying experience, and I plan to pursue this further. I can't imagine what could have happened if we had not been home!

We purchased a Frigidaire French-door refrigerator in February. Since then, Seattle Home Appliance has had to have their service techs out now 5 times. They are now in the process of changing the "motherboard" for the 3rd time. The ice maker has stopped working 3 times. The temperature for both the refrigerator and freezer has had to be replaced, and now, the ice maker stopped working again. I reached in and touched the ice maker tray and burnt my finger; it was so hot. So, I ended up turning off the ice maker, and now, we've been without an ice maker for 3 weeks while we wait once again. How do I return this piece of junk and replace it with one that works?

My $2,300 refrigerator is less than two years old and we have had to have it repaired seven times. When I tried to reach customer service, I was given a disconnected number to call to speak to a live human being. I tried submitting a request on the website and, after six times of receiving a server error message, it finally went through, but I have not had a response. I did some research and evidently, we belong to a very large group of dissatisfied customers. We bought the product because of Frigidaire's really good reputation in the past; not knowing the company was sold to a foreign entity. Judging by my research, their reputation has deteriorated completely. This company should be barred from trading in the United States.

I bought a Frigidaire refrigerator in 2003. A few years later, the compressor went out. Luckily, it was under warranty. Now, the compressor is out again. I called customer service, which was a joke. They said the life was about 8 to 10 years. If I replace it at the cost of $500, it would be the third one in nine years. Something's wrong with this math. If the life was 8 to 10 years, it should still be working on the first compressor. Now I'm looking at a third after 9 years or looking for another refrigerator from another company. With the service I got from this one, it will not be a Frigidaire. I thought I was buying from a company that cared about its consumer. I guess they don't.

This is in regards to just this year's issue with this defective FGHB2844LE Frigidaire Gallery 27.8, which won't even go into all the issues since Sept 2010. On 6-13-12 at 10am, I called Electrolux Warranty Corp at 866-386-5286. I got a rep named Michael at extension **. I told him the issue we were having with refrigerator: no ice being made and water was running out the dispenser all on its own. He then told me that the warranty has the original refrigerator (purchase date 9-22-10) serial number on it (same issue and was replaced on 4-22-11). So the correct serial number is 4A03605327.
I explained to Michael that the fridge had same issue and was just repaired by George's Appliance on 2-22-12 and 5-25-12 for the exact same issue. I also told him we would not unplug and let all the ice that froze the ice maker up melt and George then made another trip out to work on it like we did last time. Michael then said he would be sending a work order to George's Appliance so he could come out and see if it could be repaired. He stated that if George could not repair on the spot, he wanted George to call him so they could take it to next level. The authorization number was **. I then called George's Appliance and spoke with Chelse at 205- 387-8623 who said they had not received work order yet but would have tech call me when they did. At 2:01pm, Michael called to say he had sent work order and I should be receiving call soon. At 6:11pm, George from George's Appliance called and said he would be out Monday and he would call before he goes.
On 6-18-12 at 2:41pm, George called and said the same problem as before, the EE valve. George said it's staying in the on mode which is due to it allowing excess moisture to build up and makes the ice maker freeze up. He said he called in technical support and they want him to unplug let it all drain out of ice maker then put extra thick grease to keep moisture from getting into it. I asked if he called Electrolux and he said he couldn't reach Michael. He agreed that the ice maker being built in, inside the refrigerator was a bad design, which means a new ice maker cannot be installed. The refrigerator has to be completely replaced to get a new ice maker. I told him I would call him back. I hung up at 2:43pm called and reached Michael who said he would call George at 205-275-7441 and call me back. At 2:45pm, Michael called and said he got voicemail, so I used my cell and called George. He picked up and said he had received no call.
I told Michael what George said. Michael put me on hold and called George. Five minutes later, he came back on the line to say George told him it was the same issue and what Frigidaire tech support had told him to try. I again told Michael at this point I want a different type of refrigerator. I do not want to go without fridge for days just so George can try to fix again and end up going through same ordeal in a few months. Michael said he would call me right back. At 3:20pm, Michael called me back to say his supervisor said for it to be under the Lemon Clause of the warranty, there had to be 3 service calls for the same issue within the 12 months of the contract.
The contract stated on 9-11-11 and so far was serviced on 2-22-12 and 5-25-12 and today 6-18-12 but that today's visit was not in as work completed so they could not count it yet. He said he was now going to escalate work order directly to Frigidaire to have the company send out a technician to confirm the diagnosis. If they say the same issue then we can go to the next step of replacing the refrigerator. He said if they do not call me on 6-19-12 to call him back. On 6-20-12 at 10am, I called Michael to let him know I still had not received a call from Frigidaire. He said give them one more day to pick up the order he had put into the system. On 6-21-12 at 4:25pm, I received a phone call from George of George's Appliance. He stated he had just received a call from Frigidaire giving him a work order to go out and check on a refrigerator and when they gave him the name and address, he advised them he had already went out and what his findings were.
He stated they had no idea that the refrigerator had already been looked at by him or anyone. They had no information of previous work orders or that this was an escalation. At 4:30pm, I told George that I would call Michael and that as soon as I got to the bottom, I would call George back. I tried to reach Michael but Electrolux was already closed.

I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator with the Sabbath mode feature. I put the unit into this mode and left town for the holidays. When I returned 8 days later, I was met with the most horrible stench and the refrigerator LED displayed 77 degrees for both the refrigerator and freezer. All the food was rancid and disgusting and had to be thrown out.
I called Frigidaire and was told that perhaps I had programmed it wrong or pushed the buttons in the wrong sequence and that the refrigerator had gone into the "showroom" or "demo" mode. The use and care manual does not make any mention of a "showroom" or "demo" mode or the possibility that the refrigerator might shut down if such is the case. Frigidaire representatives have admitted that the manual's language is "vague and generic." However, they refuse to stand behind their product.
A factory-authorized technician has come down and examined the refrigerator. He could find no reason why it shut down as it did. He said that the refrigerator/freezer should never shut down in any circumstances. I know of at least one other case in which this "77" display occurred after being put in the Sabbath mode. The consumer had no warning that such a thing could occur, and I feel that this omission puts Frigidaire at fault. They claimed that my warranty has no coverage for food spoilage, but I had a reasonable expectation that my refrigerator would not shut itself off. I lost hundreds of dollars in lost food plus cleaning costs, and the stench still remains. I doubt that it will ever go away completely. Please help me.

It makes the most awful noise and the repairmen says that he cannot do anything unless he hears it. I called Frigidaire and they will not do anything until they have replaced or serviced three times. What in the world would they do if they had a fridge at their home making this noise. It is very frustrating to know that this company does not try to please their customers. I will not buy anything from them again nor will my friends that hear the problems that I have had with my fridge. Your customer service has a lot to be desired.

This is a follow up to a post I made a few months ago regarding a Frigidaire Professional Series refrigerator, purchased at Brandsmart in Sunrise, FL on August 13, 2011.
Today is April 11, 2012. This 20.6 cubic foot unit has the freezer section on top. I was most impressed with the overall appearance and the quality of design of the interior of this refrigerator when I made the purchase. Just one month after the unit was purchased and placed in the kitchen of my rental property, the tenants began noticing the freezer section was icing up, i.e. not defrosting. We also placed a thermometer in the lower section to monitor temperature.
Over the next several months, factory service technicians had made approximately 8 visits to attempt to solve the defrosting problem. During this time, tenants observed several times that the refrigerator section temperature was no colder than 46 degrees. A different factory service company came in January 23 of 2012, ordering a drain kit and a hinge spacer. The unit was repaired a few days later when the parts arrived and has worked since that time, until now (April 11, 2012), where again the lower section is over 50 degrees and the upper section is showing ice crystals on the door, roof and frozen food. In every visit, I've felt the factory service personnel all tried their best to repair this unit. What disappoints me greatly is the lack of support by both Frigidaire and Brandsmart.
On January 26, 2012, I went back to Brandsmart to speak to the head of the sales department. I explained the ongoing problem with this unit and told him I wanted the best deal possible on a small General Electric 4 cubic foot refrigerator so I could keep my tenants' food cold until this Frigidaire unit could be repaired. I was given a measly 11.00 dollars off the sales price of a $129.00 unit, something I should not have had to purchase! Was it not for this small unit, my tenants would have yet another batch of spoiled food to throw out today.
I was also most surprised when calling Frigidaire 1 800 451 7007, this number does not apply to "customer service". To get Frigidaire customer service, you have to call a regular long distance number. That means you pay for the call unless you have free long distance calling. More surprising, Frigidaire customer service will not let you speak to a supervisor. I asked the operator if she would spell her first name and she said they were not allowed to do that. This makes it difficult at best to speak to a supervisor or the same operator twice.

Outside door coating material is bubbling and chipping away beneath the ice maker of our 7-year-old Frigidaire refrigerator, which exposes the metal behind it. And now, it is rusted with rust stains streaming down the front of the door. Frigidaire customer service said it is cosmetic, so they won't cover repair, even though it is clearly the manufacturer's faulty material. It certainly is a cosmetic eye sore to our family, guests, and business associates. At our expense, we could replace the whole door for $250 plus labor. No solutions were offered. I bought the appliance on the good name. It's certainly not any more and something we'll spread the word about.

I purchased a refrigerator less than 4 years ago for $700+. Within the first year, a major part became defective and was replaced by the dealer (small local appliance dealer). At that time, I purchased a 3-year extended warranty. Shortly thereafter, the white plastic that holds glass shelving to metal brackets began to disintegrate and the extended warranty would not cover it. So far, 3 shelves have self-destructed and the shelving on the door is cracked and held together with duct tape.
The plastic coating inside the freezer is rusted through. Apparently the material that is used to bind the plastic is defective. I couldn't believe the audacity when I was recently notified to renew my 3-year warranty. I called the company but they had nothing to say. I mean nothing. I asked why there hasn't been a class action suit against the company because of all of the complaints against what was a reliable name many years ago. I would never purchase Frigidaire, Electrolux, White-Westinghouse, Kenmore, or Tappan again, knowing that they are all produced by the same company that does not stand behind their defective products. There is a lemon law for autos, what about a lemon law for appliances?

Where did you put the drain tube for the melting ice, and does a cube of ice work better than chopped ice? I keep finding pieces of plastic, and those square plastic things are breaking up.
Does anyone have experience with the 3-year warranty and does it cover the expense of having a full-time Frigidaire repair person living on site to keep my ref working properly? Also, has anyone else been getting violently ill due to consuming food stored at 50-55 degrees? And does anyone else feel like a total fool, like totally humiliated, because you bought junk like this?

We turned off the water line and now buy ice from the grocery store.
The last straw is when I opened the door of the fridge last week and discovered the lining at the top of the fridge had cracked and the insulation is exposed. I called customer service and they refuse to take responsibility of defective products. They said I must have left the doors open for a long time, which caused the light bulb to overheat and burn the lining. I am still fighting this battle. It constantly breaks down, often in the middle of the night. It emits smoke and my fire alarm goes off at all hours of the morning or when I'm not home. By the time I realize it broke or turned off automatically, all the food in my fridge is spoiled. I've been throwing out hundreds of dollars worth of groceries over the past four months which I really cannot afford. It turns off and back on, so the repairmen they send come and find it to be running and not in need of servicing. Meanwhile for 8, 10 or more hours it has been off. When I call the dealer, they tell me to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer refuses to deal with it and insists I call the dealer.
All I get every day when I call is the run around. I think they are waiting for my warranty to run out so they do not have to replace it. At this point, I'm concerned that it is a safety hazard because of how smoke comes out and that it might short-circuit while I'm asleep or not there. I live in an apartment building--I'd hate for anything to go wrong and affect my whole floor or even building. Please consider helping me expose Frigidaire with how they treat their customers.

I would like to bring to your attention my disappointment with your Frigidaire product I purchased three and a half years ago. For us, this was a significant purchase. In advertising your products, you state, "The essence of reliable appliances, specializing in offering high quality products." I would like to tell you of my experience with your product and service.
My first complaint is with the ice maker in the fridge. I have had two occasions where the ice maker needed to be repaired. Firstly, the ice production simply stopped. When the ice receptacle was removed, there was a build up of rust and ice. The service person repaired it temporarily. Second occasion, service person was called and it was brought to our attention that there was a piece missing from the ice maker. He ordered the piece and had to come back and install it.
My second complaint, much more significant to the first is that the right inside wall of the fridge is now riddled with horizontal cracks preventing the fridge from optimum operation. Again, a service call was made. The fix was to drill holes in my fridge wall and then to mask over the cracks with a duct tape like vinyl strip. Now, we have an unsightly damaged area in the fridge. The service person himself said, "I have never seen anything like this." This, to me, is completely unacceptable.
When contacting the service department, thankfully, I had purchased the extended warranty, I was told that I would have to have three complaints of the exact nature for consideration of the (three strikes, you have a lemon) policy. What has happened to the pride in work? Where is the quality? Your product is poor and your service in this area is poor. This product needs to be replaced for my satisfaction. I await your response.

Our Frigidaire side by side was purchased Circa 2001. It was my first big saved up purchase and a reward for a huge, difficult job I had done. A long awaited prize for years of hard work and self-denial. We went to a reputable appliance dealer and chose the ice and water door model that seemed such a treat and luxury. Delivery came a week or two later and sadly, within 30 hours, I knew we had chosen a piece of **. The ice door flapper had stuck open whilst we were gone for the weekend and caused the motor to fail.
All this time the water lines hadn't been hooked up and we were not able to enjoy that feature. After replacement of the motor and trashing a boatload of food, service replaced it and we were running again. Yes, we lost money on the food, but that wasn't as bad as being duped by this company. The unit started losing temperature, and to this day, we have a two day milk rule.
The freezer shelves and innards have all loosened and it is just a cleverly piled chest freezer on its end. All the plastic shelf trim came off and piled up in the closet, the ice cube maker only does crushed frosted flakes of minuscule size. The fresh drawers in the bottom are better for ripening and rotting, and any meat products also are subject to the short time rules. Service has been indifferent and ineffective, so we are stuck with a $1300 insult that works like **, while my old fridge/freezer from 1972 is running like a champ in the neighbor's basement.
Soon we will be in a new house where the cooling food machines will be vintage Kelvinators from the ‘40s that we yanked out of our cottage when it was sold. But never ever again from the F company who proved that people will accept unacceptable products and services without fail. We are sheep. Unless we class action on them, why should they change? And you know the management has taken this angle, just like the tobacco companies and big oil that kill good people every day. Just after 30 days of purchase, my two lady tenants noticed that the freezer section was icing up, and the refrigerator section was not cold enough.
Brandsmart sent out there tech on the first service call, who did nothing except to tell us to get another refrigerator. Since then we have had Frigidaire send out their own service tech 4 times so far. He has re-caulked the upper section of the unit. He has epoxied the area where the drain line of the ice maker exits the rear.
Both he and I have reset the defrost (by turning the door light switch off 5 times consecutively). A new drain line was installed. It's still having the same problem. Today the tech ordered a new lower door seal and a door spacer. I see nothing wrong with the lower door seal, as it looks to be in good condition and seems to close tight enough. The tech said that Frigidaire believes the door was not closed, causing this problem. These two ladies spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and they would certainly notice if the door was not closed tight. In any case, the tech believes the problem is caused by outside air being sucked into the unit.
I am most concerned as to whether or not this model is inferior or not, and if Frigidaire or Brandsmart will replace the unit if the problem continues.

A new claim was filed with Lowes' EPP plan and they sent someone out a week later to repair it, but they did not have the parts (what was told to us was a motor, fan and control panel) and they would have to be ordered.
They came back September 20, 2011 to install the parts but they had the wrong ones. Now they have to order parts again. We have been without a refrigerator since September 2, 2011 when we filed our claim.
We have asked for a new refrigerator because we feel that the repairs will exceed the price of a new refrigerator and Lowes' refused.

I bought a Frigidaire refrigerator with insurance (four-year coverage for $179.95) from the Howard's store. The fridge was faulty, and Howard's store did not want to give me a refund, or pay back the insurance that had no use since the fridge was faulty. They did not want to take any responsibility for the fridge. As far as the fridge goes, Frigidaire and I came to an agreement, and had our business settled. My only complaint is that I want to get my insurance refund from the Howard's store because they took no responsibility for the fridge; thus, I have no use for the insurance.

My side by side refrigerator and freezer is not cold. I have been calling for two days the number listed on the manual. The number listed goes to an automated system. It gives different prompts and the last is if you need to speak with a customer care agent call 706-860-4110.
This number has been busy for two days. I started calling again this morning at 8:46 AM. I have called over 20 times and the number remains busy. I went on line went to Frigidaire's website. They list an additional phone number which I called and gave the same prompts as the number listed on the manual, which in turn tells you if you would like to speak to a customer care representative to call 706-860-4110 and it remains busy!
This leads me to believe one of two things. Either Frigidaire has a million customers calling in for one live customer representative or they have a fictitious number and keeps the line busy. But this is their quote from their contact us website “Frigidaire is committed to providing you with the best customer service possible.” I just tried to call 706-860-4110 and it is busy!

Since the purchase date 4 months ago, we have had consistent problems with the product; the fridge has literally been broken for the same amount of time it has actually worked. I am a property manager and have twelve properties I oversee, including this one. Based on my recent experiences, I am deterred from ever purchasing a Frigidaire product again. Even if the alternative was more expensive, it would ultimately save myself and tenant from the headache and additionally incurred expenses as a consequence of this defective product. As a result of the 4 separate occasions, this fridge has been broken (we have had one of their recommended service companies, Class Appliances, out 3 times for repairs already). My tenant has claimed to have lost over $400 in spoiled food. Personally, it has cut into my bottom line as I am coerced into crediting them for their troubles.
Below, I am listing the particular model information. The last time the fridge broke, I requested a replacement product of equal caliber. I was promised by their customer service division that this repair would remedy the situation. I am completely exhausted dealing with the time waiting for parts to ship and repairs to be made, only to have it break again 2 weeks later. I am simply requesting a replacement for a defected product. As a property manager, I deal with a range of requests from tenants. Some of them are valid, while others are absurd. While I believe that requesting a new appliance after it breaks once is absurd, I believe that asking them to effectively review and appropriately deal with a particular case where there have been multiple documented problems is perfectly reasonable.

I called Frigidaire customer service and told them that I was cleaning my fridge and started smelling something burning. I looked up and found that the light inside had burned hole through the top liner of the fridge. We had changed the bulb with an appliance bulb since the original one burnt out. Then, I was told that there was nothing they would do because it was not the original bulb. So, I went online and found the same thing had happened to someone else, but there was the original bulb and Frigidaire pretty much said too bad. Do they not understand we are concerned with the fridge catching on fire? I think we should consider if we want to continue buying from a company that has so little regard for the consumer.

I purchased an expensive Frigidaire Side by Side refrigerator in 2006. Within months of the warranty expiring, the condenser unit failed, making the refrigerator inoperable. So, my choice was to either have the condenser replaced (parts and labor are about half the cost of the refrigerator) or buy a new refrigerator. After calling Frigidaire, they said that they would pay for the new condenser. However, what they didn't tell me was that it was for the condenser only. I didn't find out about it until the service person was out to fix it. I was told that I was responsible for the trip cost ($74), the coolant, and the actual service ($225) for a total cost of $320! The service person said that Frigidaire uses the Tecumseh condensers which fail on a regular basis. When you spend this much on an appliance, it should last longer than five years!

I purchased Frigidaire refrigerator for $700 three years ago from a local dealer. When mechanism in the rear of freezer "froze up," not allowing cool air to pass into refrigerator, the dealer made a service call and replaced the defective part. I purchased an extended three-year warranty at this point.
Less than a year later, the plastic material that holds the brackets to shelving cracked and splintered. I then called Electrolux to request a replacement of the shelf. They told me that it was not covered under the warranty. I paid approximately $86.00 for a new shelf. Within weeks, another shelf cracked. I called to complain and they sent me another shelf without charging me. After several weeks, the replacement shelf and the shelving in the door cracked. We started to use duct tape to hold the shelving together.
Meanwhile, the shelving in the freezer has begun to rust through the plastic coating and the door of the refrigerator will not close without lifting and closing it into place. This product is a complete lemon. We will be replacing it soon. It is only three years old at this point. The replacement will definitely not be a Frigidaire or any product produced by the company that manufactures these inferior products. I will also closely examine all interior shelving and construction on the replacement before purchasing it.

I called Best Buy and unfortunately, I was over the 30 days, so they could not replace it. I had to go through the manufacturer. Best Buy set up a service call for Tuesday, but I could not deal with the smell and I have children with special needs (we are living out of ice chests). I paid $30 for the service tech to make a Saturday call. He came out, took it apart and said he couldn't find anything wrong with it but agreed that the smell was bad. All our food was lost ($400 worth), as it smelled and tasted like chemicals. The repairman plugged in the refrigerator and said he would come back tomorrow to see if he can see anything wrong with it.
As I have seen this exact same complaint in another post, I don't believe he will find anything and our family will not be able to use this refrigerator again. I'm feeling even more ill and the smell is permeating the house. As it is, we now appear to be out the $900+ we spent for this refrigerator from Best Buy. My account numbers with Electrolux or Frigidaire are **. Please understand that I lost my confidence in Frigidaire appliances so even if it will be correctly repaired, I will never have peace of mind with it in my house. We have been living without a fridge since July 6 in temperatures of 100+ F. I want it back to the factory that made it and my money back in my account. Please read the brief story below of my painful experience with Frigidaire:
On May 12, 2011, we bought a Frigidaire refrigerator online, (model # FFHS2611LQ, serial # 4A11502582 ) with a 5-year warranty. It was delivered to my home on May 19, by the Home TV & Appliance store in 310 W Southern Ave, Mesa, AZ. with telephone number (480) 649-1811.
On July 6, 2011, in the morning, I noticed that the melting ice flooded my hardwood floor overnight. I also noticed that the temperature under the refrigerator is stuck at 4 and flashing. I called the store which delivered it to ask them to have it picked up and returned. The manager told me that after 30 days of purchase date, it is the manufacturer's responsibility. They also sent a Maytag technician, from Genuine Appliance Service in Mesa, AZ, with phone number (602) 252-6030), who came to the house on July 7 (Thursday). He said the temperature control is defective and needs to be replaced but it will have to wait until the following week because they have to order the part from Nevada.
On July 13, another technician came by the house, replaced the control in about 15 minutes. This happened around 9:30 am. Around 10 pm, I dared to open the fridge (we were told that it takes 12 hours for the temperature to adjust so I did not open earlier), and noticed that nothing has changed. The temperature under the refrigerator was still flashing at 4. On July 14, early morning, I noticed that water was flooding the kitchen floor. The few ice cubes that were formed earlier must have again melted and dripped overnight. Hence, the hardwood floor around and under the fridge lost its polish and became corrugated. We trashed the food of around $200 and have been living without a working refrigerator in temperatures of more than 100 F since Wednesday, July 6.
Consequently, I called and emailed customer service at web.other@electrolux.com, one more time, to let them send someone to pick up the refrigerator, return the money plus the 5-year warranty back in my account, as soon as possible. I do not want a replacement or repair any longer. I want it back to wherever they want it, out of my house. On the same line, I noticed a white label on the back of the refrigerator saying "PATENT PENDING". Maybe this explains why this refrigerator is beyond repair, for me at least.
Looking forward for a fair resolution for us, i.e. the return of the new defective refrigerator and my money back. Thank you.

It took 3 separate calls to customer service to get the correct items shipped. I kept receiving "close" but incorrect door bins although I gave the correct serial and model numbers to the technician each time I called. The correct door bins that finally arrived almost 3 months after my purchase broke at the "cheeezee" little hooks that attach the bin to the door within 3 months.
Since Electrolux had already shipped new bins 3 times and since they were not receiving enough negative feedback from others to justify an investigation, I was told that they were not responsible for more replacements because I was obviously over loading the bins. I subsequently ordered and paid for 2 upper door bins and 1 lower door bin. Due to the cost (+/- $45.00 each + shipping) we really babied these delicate little things as long as possible. The last one just broke however, it did last almost 11 months.
The copper tubing that transitions the incoming water hose to the ice maker valve dislodged somehow and a slow leak developed behind the refrigerator. By the time the leak was noticed, it had saturated the wood flooring which had to be replaced. My issue with this is the flooring damaged by the water leak was special order and is no longer available. I was unable to "piece" the floor and had to replace flooring in the entire kitchen.
I am currently offering a $5000.00 reward payable to the first individual that shoots me in the head if I ever buy another Electrolux / Frigidaire product of any kind.

Very simply, we purchased 3 Frigidaire appliances (fridge, range, over-the-range microwave) in May-June 2008. We purposefully purchased nicer levels of equipment, so that we would not have additional costs of repair and replacement. We began to have problems with them shortly after the 12-month warranty ran out.
The range is not reparable. It has a design flaw that allows anything that spills down the front of it to go to the inside of the glass door where it cannot be cleaned without bending the metal covering. And the refrigerator has had ice maker issues (and the repairman explained the many design problems with Frigidaire compared with other reputable companies). Along with paying to have that repaired. it has several points where it is rusting in the freezer and refrigerator compartments. One of the drawer glides broke while holding lettuce and a few tomatoes, telling me that they used inferior plastics in building it.
Finally, our microwave's magnetron died after less than three years. A magnetron is $108 plus the cost to have it replaced. We've had $99 microwaves in the last 9 years, and they still keep on running.
Their product lasted about as long as 12 packs of toilet paper in a dysentery ward. All they have ever done or offered to do is write an email of apology to their "valued customer." But they do not value customers longer than it takes to slide the credit card through the card reader. Further, since we began to have these problems, we have had so many people tell us the same thing about Frigidaire, while everyone else says, "I've had my ____________ for 9, 10, 15, 18 years and never had them repaired. Bottom line: do not purchase Frigidaire.

I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator in Sept 2007 from Sears. I had numerous problems with the product like broken shelving and water dispenser. Due to the fact that I had many issues with the product, I purchased an extended warranty when the manufacturer's was about to expire. Since then, the problems that I have had are enormous. On July 24, 2009, in the wee hours of the morning, the water started to pour out of my family room ceiling, which is located in the basement right below the refrigerator. We had to turn off the main water supply to stop the water fall that was in my basement. The next day, we had a plumber come in to turn off the water supply to the refrigerator. I reported the problem to Sears and they sent out a technician. He explained the problem to me: The copper tubing that went into the water pump was not installed correctly at the manufacturer. The copper tubing and the copper connection were both corroded from the leaking. That had to have been ongoing for a long period of time.
Due to the fact that there was damage to my home, I filed a claim with Sears. They forwarded it to their claims department who determined that the fault was that of the manufacturer. And they forwarded the claim to Crawford and Company that works with Electrolux. This was Sept 20, 2010. I still have a huge hole in my ceiling. The sub flooring in my kitchen is ruined. When I contact Crawford and Company every other day, I get the same answer. Electrolux has not had the time to test the faulty part. How many faulty parts does Electrolux have that it is taking such a long time to make a determination on my behalf? It has been suggested to me that I turn the damage into my homeowners insurance.
In Nov. 2010, I reported another issue to Sears. The interior of the refrigerator has now developed over 2 dozen cracks to the interior wall. I was offered two solutions to this problem: have each of the cracks fixed with epoxy, or live with it. The suggestion from the technician was to live with it, a real sorry answer as far as I was concerned. I now have a broken meat compartment drawer. I will call for replacement. This major appliance is the absolute worst investment that I have ever made. The time that has gone by with no resolve tells me that Electrolux does not care about the customer, only the sale. I am truly disenchanted with a product that I had put my faith and dollars into.

Our side-by-side refrigerator was first repaired in October of 2010. As directed by Frigidaire, we had their service tech repair the evaporator fan and paid $230.00 out of our pocket. The very same thing happened approximately 2 weeks later and we contacted Frigidaire, who asked us to send the repair document and they said they would begin a claim. We faxed the paperwork and never heard back from the company. When we contacted them again, they denied that we ever called them or that they received the faxed paperwork. We resubmitted the repair paperwork via email scanning and they finally acknowledged that they got the document. They have not done anything else for us even though they said they would contact a repair tech and have them come and see what could be done with the fridge.
That was 2 weeks ago. We experienced trouble with this company back in 2007, shortly after we purchased all brand new Frigidaire appliances. Our stove, glass top, began turning on. The front left element would glow bright red. The company and the retailer (Jacob Nathan, Napanee) would not believe our claims. We had a recommended service tech check the stove and he disconnected the electrical panel, assuring us that that would fix the problem momentarily. Not so. Again, the front element turned bright red and hot. We were shocked that this was happening and worried that the stove might cause a fire. So we shut down the power breaker and unplugged the unit. We went through continual arguments with both the company and the retailer. With a hint of luck, some management person from the West Coast heard about our problem and immediately directed both the retailer and the company to replace the stove.
Obviously, there were others experiencing this same problem. We settled with a cheaper version of the stove and never asked for any compensation (regarding microwavable foods and other means of feeding our large family). I am very irritated with this company and most recently, I sent an email directly to the company explaining our difficulties with their staff and terrible products. I purchased a side by side stainless steel Frigidaire Refrigerator five years ago from Lowes. At 3.5 years, the refirgerator failed due to a faulty control board. Not only did we have to replace the spoiled food but the underlying oak flooring was damaged from the water overflowing from the overflow pan. Electrolux did send a new control board but would not cover the labor charges and we had to foot the flooring repair which neither they nor home owners insurance covered. Now at five years, the replaced second control board has failed and the food again has to be thrown out. Electrolux only warranties the control board for 90 days so they will not provide a replacement except at full charge for this part. I will never buy nor recommend an Electrolux/Frigidaire product again.

I purchased a Frigidaire model FRS6HR35KW refrigerator. The first unit was delivered with the mounting studs for the crisper drawers broken. It was returned and a second one delivered. After 3 months, the mounting studs on the second refrigerator had broken, the shelf, the top crisper drawer mounts onto had broken and the plastic liner of the refrigerator started to crack. I contacted Electrolux for warranty service. Their resolution was to replace the mounting studs and shelf and glue a plastic patch over the cracks. When I told them it was not acceptable to glue a patch over the cracks to hide the flaw they threatened to void my warranty.
I now have a $700 refrigerator that cannot be repaired, because of cracks in the non-replaceable liner. I missed a day of work to be home for the repairman. If I get the repairs I need to miss another day of work to be there. If I get the repairs done, the mounting studs for the crisper drawers will just break again. They cannot support the weight of the drawer if it is full of produce.

I have a year old Refrigerator that I called customer service about because my refrigerator was not cooling properly. After a technician came to my home to check it out, it was not defrosting correctly and the reason it was not defrosting correctly is because someone at the Frigidaire Manufacturing Plant did not connect the wire properly for the defrost.
The technician literally pushed the two pieces of connecting wire together and bam, my fridge started working instantly. I was never charged any part because there was nothing he replaced. I paid $86.00 for a service call, only because Frigidaire was negligent in putting my refrigerator together properly in the first place.
Worst customer service I have ever come in contact with. Did not want to help at all. Ridiculous service. I am reporting Frigidaire to the BBB and letting everyone know about your poor customer service and poor workmanship. I will never buy a Frigidaire again and will let everyone know. I bought a Frigidaire from a PC Richards in May 2008. I was not happy with it from the start, and tried to deal with PC Richards and got nowhere. I should have pursued. In any event, approximately a month after I bought it, the shelves cracked, pieces came off the parts holding the shelves, and the produce drawers couldn't even stay on the runners. Hate to play the single parent card, but I'm a single mother, which means I don't have anyone coming home to help me fix things.
I contacted customer service via email and never got anywhere. A few weeks ago, I had just about had it and I realized that Electrolux had bought Frigidaire and emailed the address that came up (two addresses); web.other@electrolux.com and CustomerServices@electrolux.se. Approximately September 18, 2010 is when I finally got the emails through.
To date, I am still waiting for the correct parts they were to send out. This was after they emailed me the parts manual, me ordering the parts from them and having two shipments of incorrect and/or not sufficient parts (after calling them after the first shipment I was promised the correct parts) and I'm still waiting for the shelf which was supposedly mailed out with that first shipment. I've had it.

I bought a 4.4 cubic feet Frigidaire refrigerator and had it delivered to my home. I found it not running in less than a year which is still under guarantee. The motor is dead. Only light is still on. I called the company. They gave me several numbers to call for repair service. I got one schedule but they requested I had to take my refrigerator to the store to get it fixed. I could not do that. So, I called the Frigidaire again and told them. They asked me to call another service to see if they would come out and repair. I finally got one agreeing upon coming out to fix but he needed account or claim number. I then called the Frigidaire again to obtain it. They this time told me that they don't provide repair service. They will replace it instead. I asked her why I was not told from the beginning and had to go through all these trouble to get a serviceman to agree to come out and then cancel it! As you can imagine, I was very **!
She told me that she would call local Lowe’s and have it delivered 48 hours after the last call with Frigidaire. Local Lowe’s called me to come to pick up my refrigerator. They told me that they did not have order for home delivery. I called Frigidaire again. This time, I was told by another representative that because of my compact size refrigerator, the company does not cover delivery and I have to pick it up myself! I told her I had my refrigerator delivered when I bought it from Lowe’s last year. I did not have any mean or help to be able to do it myself then and I can't do it now either. It was not my intent to buy their defected refrigerator. If only I would had known then that their products were not reliable, I would have gone with plenty other companies who make much better reliable home products.
I insisted on the company must cover for its delivery no matter what size of the refrigerator is. If I had it delivered when I bought it, it needs to be delivered when it's replaced. I was turned away by one after another after another. I kept insisting on talking to the higher up chain of command. Finally, after almost 2 hours on phone with them, they agreed for me to pay delivery fee up front and they will reimburse me later. They all had no comment when I asked them to put themselves in my position, being at the receiving end of their service, if they think this is fair to consumer. I'm still without a refrigerator for a week now since mine was broken.

This is a condensed copy of the email I sent to Chris Polk at Electrolux today 7/19/2010. "We bought our first Frigidaire refrigerator on 6/29/2005. In less then 2 years, the unit started to fail and was running over 50 degrees. After many service appointments which were thankfully covered by an extended warranty we purchased through the retailer. They opted to give us a brand new refrigerator. It's now a few years later, and our extended warranty has expired and the problems have started up again.
Refrigerator number 2 has started leaking underneath the fridge and started making some dreadful noises last night. The noises were so loud it woke us from a sound sleep. The only way we can get it to stop is to shut the entire unit off. We have a couple hundred dollars worth of food packed into coolers (90+ degrees in our area). We have set up a service appointment with the retailer this Thursday (the earliest they had available). However, we're torn on whether we want to even go through with getting the unit repaired. With continued issues with the brand, we're lacking the confidence in the brand's longevity and reliability. This could potentially be a very costly repair since the extended warranty is expired by one month. Furthermore, we're concerned this fridge will just break down again and we'll be out a lot of money and we'll just have to go back to square one."
I'm hoping they can do something for us. I almost want to scrap this fridge and never buy another Frigidaire product again. Oh and I haven't even brought up the issue with our dishwasher yet! That's a hunk of junk too. Poor design, operates but rack system is very shoddy. Already had it repaired twice, once for rack (still broken) and once for the electronic instrument panel.

On May 5th 2009, I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator for my summer home in Delavan, Wisconsin. The refrigerator was purchased from Lowe's also located in Delavan. After the refrigerator was delivered, my family did the usual and stocked the unit. Because this is our summer home, we only get up to the cottage twice or three times a month during summer season. The electric bill for the cottage is sent to our permanent home in Chicago and we soon noticed that the electric bill was unusually high, and when we leave the cottage, the only electricity being used is for the refrigerator.
Upon returning to our cottage, we noticed that the refrigerator was constantly running and upon checking further, we learned that the contents in the freezer were not frozen, and the items in the lower unit were warm too. Upon returning to Lowe's, we learned that their warranty was only good for 30 days (about 45 days had passed). We would have to go through Frigidaire for service under the warranty terms. Because it was the end of the summer season and the cottage is shut down for the winter, we decided too pull the plug on the refrigerator, and wait until the spring to order service.
In January 2010, I called Frigidaire to order service and set up an appointment for April 2010, and a week prior to the appointment, I went up to the cottage and plugged the refrigerator back in. On April 5th, the service technician contracted by Frigidaire arrived and after inspecting the refrigerator, he wrote on the correction sheet, "No Freon in system, won't run with no Freon, possibly compressor damaged, recommend to replace unit." No parts were replaced by the technician but he did say that most likely Frigidaire would require them to fix the unit and not replace it.
I re-contacted Frigidaire and the problem was being referred to their Follow-Up Unit. The follow up unit contacted me and informed me that the unit had to be repaired. After insisting that based on their own technician's assessment of the unit that repairs would not be cost effective, and may not result in good repair, I asked Frigidaire that the unit be replaced.
After asking for replacement, Frigidaire insisted the unit be repaired, that we reorder service on the unit, and promptly hung up on us greatly upsetting my wife. Service was ordered, the tech did replace a part, and recharged the system. When the tech left, the unit was getting cold, and I hoped the problem was solved. But guess what, upon returning to the cottage this week, sure enough, the fridge was again dead on arrival. Figuring this might happen, when I arrived home after the repair, I knew that the one year warranty would be expiring in a matter of days, so I ordered an extended warranty on the piece of junk.
As of this posting, I am now going to have to call and argue with Frigidaire again, most likely re-order service, and waste my time again driving the 140 mile round trip to the cottage and back. Sorry for the long post, but in closing don't ever buy a product from Frigidaire because you'll be sorry!

I have had two separate technicians inform me that the compressor should have never gone out in such a short time of operation. I have formally requested that Electrolux communicate with me solely in writing and Ms. ** has failed to do so. 1) I will need a replacement refrigerator and freezer for my units as agree to by Elizabeth **.2) I will need a full warranty for both replacement units.
3)I will need an expected due date for the food reimbursement check. Ms. ** indicated that Electrolux does not cover food reimbursement, however when I spoke with supervisor Maria, she contacted corporate office and spoke with Shantiya and I was offered $100. This is just one of many inconsistencies that I have dealt with.
4) I will need a time line for the refund for both payments to California Appliance Tech for service fees.
I was told that the Frigidaire Professional Series was the top of the line product that Electrolux offered and that could not be further from the truth. On March 14, 2007, my microwave door handle inexplicably came undone. My dishwasher broke down and flooded my entire kitchen. I have requested the name, title, and contact information for the supervisor of Ms. Elizabeth ** and she has blatantly declined to provide it. She indicated that I would need to go through the chain of command.
I have done that and nothing has been done. I made it clear that if the only thing that she could offer me was replacing the refrigerator and freezer that I appreciated her efforts and it was definitely time to move on to the next person. I bought a beautiful Frigidaire Gallery Series side-by-side refrigerator/freezer in June 2004. After looking around at different brands and models, I chose the Frigidaire due to the fact that it was manufactured by Electrolux--a name I thought at the time was well-respected. Boy, was this purchase a mistake. Several weeks after purchasing it, the store I bought from had to come out and adjust it because it was leaking water and not cooling properly. It's 3 weeks old, mind you.
I should have known this would be an omen. After a number of oddities and minor quirks over the next several years, the refrigerator developed a strange noise. After un-plugging the unit overnight, the noise would go away for several days at a time. I should have known better than to leave this thing alone for a week while I went on vacation.
I returned from vacation to a house that smelled like death warmed over literally. Both the refrigerator and freezer failed during the week I was gone. When I returned, the unit was still running; and (after donning a surgical mask to keep from throwing up) upon checking the temperature inside the unit, I found it sitting at a nice and toasty 93.2 degrees--about 22 degrees warmer than my house! Imagine that!
All this time, I have not owned a refrigerator but an oven in drag! I lost over $600 in food, and I still have not gotten the odor completely out of my house. And now wonder if I ever will!
The day after this disaster unfolded, I contacted Electrolux "customer service" (I use the term loosely.). They really could not have cared less about this situation or the fact that their product failed. But they were kind enough to refer me to a local repair service at my own expense since the 5-year extended warranty I bought from them expired 10 months ago! Needless to say, this is my last Electrolux anything ever.

Feb.22, 2010, when my fridge was about 7 mos. old, the interior light bulb blinked off as I opened the door. No big deal, I thought I'll just change it. What I saw next was unbelievable! The bulb was actually stuck into the ceiling of the refrigerator because it had burned a hole right into the surface. The diameter of the hole is 2" x 2" round and a discolored brownish yellow burned mark is left in the ceiling from this occurrence.
I have pictures of the hole that Frigidaire just wants to patch up. After writing numerous letters to Frigidaire, I finally received the response I was waiting for. It stated that there should have been a protective metal plate installed above the bulb, to prevent it from coming in direct contact with the top of the refrigerator. I went back to the store of purchase and verified this; all of the refrigerators did indeed have the protective plate and/or plastic casing surrounding the bulb. When I studied mine I saw 2, what looked like holes that were not perforated (?) apparently for that missing piece. Frigidaire refuses to accept this as a defect or issue a recall, and just wants to issue a patch kit to hide the hole. This is an Energy Star refrigerator so the energy efficiency has been compromised because of the hole. I have been dealing with Frigidaire for over a month now fighting that this hole was caused by an installation error and warrants a replacement not a repair. Their advice to me was to take the patch job while it was still under warranty. I told them I was not agreeing with their solution. Then I was told they needed 3 reports from 3 different of their certified technicians. These technicians are only able to come on certain days during the week.
This has caused frustration in my trying to schedule days when my spouse has his day off which is bi-weekly. The issue is because of Frigidaire’s failure to have had that piece installed, in the first place, is what triggered the aftermath in damages both physically (to the product) and emotionally, because of my frustration over the last month and a half. I am now being told in their most recent letter that I misunderstood the phone call about the 3 technicians. Apparently these technicians needed to have actually "worked" on my appliance 3 different times for the same issue before they would consider a replacement (basically then it would be considered a lemon). I am certain (and the phone call should have been recorded for certainty) that is not what was said. They basically don't want to agree they screwed up. My question is, was it just my refrigerator or is there a whole lot of that same model that has had this same occurrence?

I called and had an authorized repair company come out, who gave me the bad news that I have a bad compressor. This is the 3rd set of Frigidaire appliances I have purchased, and the first problem I have ever had with one of them. The repair bill will be $457. I am so hoping and praying Frigidaire will help me with the cost of this repair as I cannot afford to replace it now. I will try to update this if I get a favorable outcome from this.

We purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator (model FRS23F4D) short of 5 years ago. The compressor went. It was replaced under warranty. The technician placed all components, and the refrigerator cannot be fixed. They are offering us 30% off of another Electrolux unit. Why would we buy another, when they can't stand behind their product? This is a lemon. The unit has to be thrown out.

My seven-year old Frigidaire side-by-side has its compressor dying. Many have expressed complaints about this defective product but Frigidaire does not care (warranty expired, so you are on your own). When a top-of-the-line fridge has a compressor dying, it means that it was a defective product and the company should stand behind it. I am fighting to get the repair done under warranty but customer service declined. They offered 20% to purchase a new fridge: I am not going to buy another defective product, despite the discount--thanks! What an expensive repair. I hope to find a more reasonable customer service rep.

I bought a Frigidaire side by side on 7/3/ 09. It is almost eight months old now and I have replaced the refrigerator door bins three times so far. The holding piece just breaks off and the items fall to the floor. My spouse said I must be in a hurry. Well, perhaps sometimes but 3x in less than eight months--and all for the same problem? The bins contained anyone's typical bin items: salad dressing, pickles, relish, olives, mayo, marinades and jelly. Thank the Lord I didn't try and put 2 gallon milk containers in them as was suggested by the manufacturer! Also, thank him for my taking out the warranty through Lowe's that my spouse said was only a waste of money because warranties are never used.
Well, so far, I have already paid for my extended four-year warranty by ordering 3 replacement parts. Now, two days ago, I opened the fridge door and the light blinked off. No big deal, I thought. I'll just replace the bulb. What I saw next absolutely put me in shock! The light bulb was stuck into the top of the fridge because it had melted itself through the fiberglass and was imbedded into the roof of the fridge!
When I pried it out, lo and behold, there was a nice fat hole now in the top of my almost eight-month old fridge that cost $1,000! I freaked out and called the repair man. This time, not for parts but for an honest to goodness repair job. After tomorrow, I'll see what he has to say and I'll write back. Oh, one more thing. What happened to the little piece of deflector metal that most manufacturers put above the light bulb to deflect/defer the heat from the bulb? I guess Frigidaire didn't want to spend the $.50 for that little 3"X3" piece of metal.

I bought my refrigerator and washer about 5 years ago and have had to repair many parts on the fridge many times, which were very costly. These products are made so cheap that replacement parts needs to be constantly replaced.

I am completely outraged! My refrigerator is not even eight months old and it doesn't work. American Home Appliance is the worst service company. I have been without a refrigerator for a month now and I have three small children in the house. At least, it's winter time for me to keep my food in coolers on my porch. How awful is that? I can't get anyone to help me. I have this manager, John, telling me that for two days the system has been down and he can't bring my account up. I also have him telling me that he doesn't report to anyone and I've been on hold with him for 20 minutes. He claims he is trying to get in touch with someone from Corporate because all of a sudden I'm stupid now.
He told me on 2/16 to give him 24 hours to work on my account and he would call me. It's now 2/18 and I had to call him. What kind of service is this? My fridge has had the compressor replaced and a hole fixed where the freon comes out. Come on! I need o hear back from someone asap. I'm about to flip out even more. I've tried every approach possible and this is the last one I have. Maybe if I blog and write over and over, someone will hear me. I have children in my house! It's not like this is a dishwasher. I would be able to hand wash my plates. This is a refrigerator. Come on! I understand there are policies but I'm not receiving any help.

Refrigerator had problems from the day we bought it: Door clunking on hinge, water dispenser freezing up, shelves falling inside the freezer, items in the refrigerator going rotten in some areas but freezing in others, extremely loud and struggling motor. Under warranty, a repairman was sent out to install spacers in freezer, changed the freezer door to a new one with an 'insulated' line, changed refrigerator door hinge and said that "Frigidaires are just loud like that" about the motor. These repairs lasted for just a few months until the unit was off of warranty. The water line isn't freezing, but it's warm. Shelves in freezer are still falling/not staying on in their grooves. The door is clunking but not at 70% open, now it is at 25% open (afraid its going to fall off at any time). Food items still rotting and freezing, motor still sounding terrible.
I contacted Frigidaire again and they asked for more information. After giving them the information, they never responded. That was 6 months ago. I have sent several more emails and I'm being ignored. Besides not having a product that works as it should (keeping food fresh and dispensing cool water), the cost of throwing away bad food every week is ridiculous. I fear everyday that I will come home to find the unit to have given out completely and leaked to ruin my hardwood floors. I fear the door will fall off on one of my children. This needs to be addressed before irreparable damage is done.

On September 2005, we purchased a Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water dispensers in the door. Lately, I noticed rust developing below the dispenser opening, under the painted door surface. I called both the 1-800 number shown in the owner’s manual and another number given by the overseas customer service person but to no avail. They claim that the problem is not a warrantable issue. I join with others in recommending say not to Frigidaire appliances. I would consider participation in a class action.
