DO NOT SELECT THIS COMPANY. I bought a home last April that was built in 1996 that had several older appliances, including HVAC systems and so I felt it reasonable to buy a home warranty. Choosing this company was the worst choice I could have ever made. I have filed four claims, all of which have been denied and the final one that broke the camel's back was a water heater that finally started leaking and they denied the claim because they don’t cover the tank on the water heater. I was flabbergasted.
The main component of a water heater is the tank and 90% of the issues related to a water heater are leaking tanks. Once they leak, it’s time to replace them and they’re no longer any good. (Read the fine print, as they really have an exception on every appliance that they don’t cover, which negate any coverage.) The company said we don’t cover tanks of water heaters so basically, they don’t cover a water heater. The same was the case for my previous claims for a refrigerator and a stove exhaust fan, which they didn’t cover.
It’s just one excuse after another, and they are absolutely impossible to deal with and very disrespectful on the phone when you challenge them. I highly recommend you don’t consider this company. I should have known that they were suspect when they pushed very hard to send me an extended plan rather than just the one your plan that I chose. It was a very aggressive tactic to get me locked in to a three-year program for more cash. Thankfully, I didn’t and I’m only out about $600 but I am convinced I will not ever get any of my claims filled. I’ll continue to try and will continue to send updates, but as of now, I would say they are a zero out of five stars, and they do not follow through with any of their claims of their customer. Service is at Best. Terrible. Hope this helps.

Not a good review at present. I filed a claim 12 days ago. The first tech was 2 hours away. I asked for a new tech, and their HO was 10 hours away. However, after complaining, the tech did call, and they appear to have an office locally. I'll see how it transpires this week.

So bad. Their phone number is often misprinted as a number for lab corp, they put you on hold and hang up often, they often cannot deliver techs who still work with them (because they don’t pay them enough), and their buyout offer would be a joke if not so low to be insulting. We feel this company is a scam.

I have been with First Premier Home Warranty since December 2022 and haven’t file no more than 2 claims. I file about my microwave a few days before Christmas and here it is January 2nd and I still back and forth with them. The technician came out. Told them that the microwave can’t be fix and they are trying to give me $75.00 for a new microwave. I’m so disappointed with this company. They are very rude. I’m just going to cancel them and find someone else. This is just so unbelievable.

Refused my claim on my furnace. No heat and 28 degrees outside. They want me to pay 150.00. My wife and I are disabled. DON'T GET THIS COMPANY. Very bad company. Am going to shop around for a better one!!!!

WORST Company Ever!! RUN, don't walk away! Filed my 1st claim and they offered a "Cash in Lieu". Took several WEEKS and a TON of phone calls to get the form sent out. Still waiting on payment. Social media reviews are horrible too. Wish I would have read them. I canceled their service with my bank. Reporting to the BBB as well.

I called Steven ** to inform I would not be renewing my warranty with First Premier Home Warranty. He got irritated and asked why. I told him that I had only used this once in 31/2 years and that I have another warranty from when I purchased my home five years ago. He hung up three times, then he rudely asked, 'Why are you calling?' The 3rd or 4th call, he stated the last four digits of my credit card # and, I said, "You heard me say no to renewing." I think he did this on a recorded line. Then I continued, to say, "You know I said no several times." So I sent emails and texts to every phone number on file for First Premier which seemingly routed to him.

Less than 1. No one answers the phone but Holly. Left on hold with no follow up, no local repairman. Kim told me to call at 8 am the next day. They don't get in till 9 am. Seller purchased warranty for buyer, 30 day waiting period I wasn't aware of just shy of 5 days, they wouldn't approve. Hope I NEVER need them.

I have been having financial hardships and we thought that having insurance on our appliances would help. I looked around and saw that First Premier had a decent price. I had got a call back signed up. Well we've hit an even harder times so we decided to get rid of this plan so the first time I had called First Premier and off the bat the lady was not professional I told her wanted to cancel and she did even ask any information not even a policy number. I didn't think to ask why she didn't ask but I figured they could tell by the phone. So she goes to tell me that the cancellation department would call me.
After darn near waiting the whole day I sent an email. God knows they do not have any way for you to cancel it on the website or be clear about anything! Day 2 still no call back, so I call them again my voice was elevated just a little cause I am frustrated at this time. I told her once again what I needed and she proceeded to then tell me that I needed to have an emailed request (luckily I already did that) but I then asked why didn't you tell me when I called the first time that I had to do that but she didn't respond. So here I am 3 days later no response, no email. I am NOT recommending this business. I just want my account canceled.

I had this Scammy Company about a year ago and all claims were denied! I canceled the contract and got a full refund after many calls. Today about a year later Albert, who claims to be the Owner, wanted to renew the contract and I denied. He cursed me texting and kept pushing me to renew. In my 67 years doing business with many other companies, Albert presented himself as THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL AND TRASHY PERSON ONE COULD EVER DEAL WITH!!! BEWARE!!!

I am a retired realtor.... I insisted on home warranties for resales.... I keep home warranties on my investment properties, never had a problem with "repair or replace".… This review only allows 200 characters, I have over 49 pages of notes and documentation about this company, their business practices are extremely disappointing, you have lost your money the minute you give them your credit card... I have also drafted letters of complaints to BBB, The Attorney General of GA, National Association of Realtors & our local news channels consumer affairs. There certainly has to be a law that can shut these people down, all the reviews you read... close to 50% are rated 1...
Please read the reviews, THEY ARE TRUE, my notes and documentation are verification so no need for me to repeat, the reviews rated at 5 stars are AI generated... Make sure you have the opportunity to speak with "TODD P" himself.... This is when you know you just got SCAMMED... There is a Facebook group forming to fight this company as a group.... Takes forever to get a hold of someone and when they pick up they hang up. Annoying. Very quick to sign you up but don’t recommend them. Had two claims and both denied for one reason or other. Compressor in fridge went out did not cover it?

First premier Home Warranty is a nightmare. Their underwriters Don't even pay you a quarter of cost of item needing replaced. Then First Premier won't give money owed to you for 45 days. Yes you read that correct 45 days before you get LESS than 25% of value of appliance. The people who answer phones are rude and have no customer service skills and interrupt or hang up on you. I tried to get them to send my check and cancel policy because I paid for three yrs at once and they told me if I cancel the next two yrs even though I'm still in first year I won't get my appliance money. They are nothing but a crooked, rude business with horrible business practices and services. Also I had to pay $55 for a service man to tell me to fix or if appliance is shot. So I am getting $212.14 for a refrigerator. Which means I really am getting$157.14. Ridiculous!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!!!!

Do not use this service. They will take your money but provide no service. All of the contractors they will try to assign to your claim refuse to service the claim and state First Premier won't authorize the repair or won't pay what the contractor needs to make a repair.

This company sucks. They deny all my claims. Can't get anybody out. Had one claim and they never paid their part. I've canceled the plan. They won't give my money back. I would not ever recommend this company to anybody. It's been a total nightmare. I sent letter after a letter to try to get my money back and I'm not getting anywhere.

I have been trying to get a refund on this policy for over a year. I completed the cancellation form and the requirements. I even got the State of Connecticut Attorney General involved. I sent them all required written cancellations via registered USPS mail. They said they would refund a small portion of my original $1,350. They still have not refunded me a single dime. I will be taking them to court!!!

Steer clear of First Premier. In my opinion they are scammed. I filed a claim with them and could not get ahold of them after unless I used a different phone. I was told three times I would receive an email by the end of the day. I ran out of different phones to call them from to cancel my account. I had my bank card hacked so I had to change the number. Well...they called me trying to get the $59 when they owed me for a washing machine they valued at a measly $100. Please do not sign up with this company. Put your money in a side account and pay for your repairs.

If I could give a 0 rating I would because 1 is too good for this company!! Simply the worse warranty company I have ever ever ever dealt with.. impossible to get in touch with them except to purchase a plan.. impossible to get them to pay for anything. They look for any way out even a loophole.. I strongly suggest anyone looking to purchase this type of warranty plan to go with Choice as I made a big error in not keeping them when I moved to Florida.. trust me this First Premier didn’t even deserve a 1- rating.

This company is exemplary when it comes to getting customers! Once you have paid, you can expect to never speak to anyone again. I was told that the first premium would be taken from my account at the end of the 30-day waiting period. It was taken the very next day. “Oops,” they said and promised to fix it. They didn’t. I requested a cancellation of the policy. Promised refund in 7-14 days. 30 days later, they tried to draw another payment from my account. It took 5 phone calls that they deliberately disconnected after a long hold. I kept calling back. Then, they say cancellations are only handled through email! And there is a $75.00 fee to cancel a policy. BEWARE, my friends.

I bought a 5 year with 6th year free policy. I filed my only claim 15 months into the policy and a local contact dropped the ball for an appointment. I fixed the issue myself and cancelled the claim. The claim cancellation was never acknowledged. Found the policy doesn't cover MANY of the issues that might occur. I cancelled the policy. I essentially paid a "monthly" fee, an "administrative" fee, and an "uncoupling" fee that was NOT in my contract. So it cost me about $100 a month for 15 months with no claims. I consider this a scam.

Under no circumstances, should you use this company? I'm out thousands of dollars and I can't get it back because they will not stay on the phone long enough to transfer me to anybody. I just wish I would have seen these reviews before I purchase it and on top of that, they illegally sold me the policy because 3 months prior to them, selling the policy, they were served by the Oklahoma ag to cease and desist all sales in oklahoma, But I didn't find this out until later.

This "company" out of Brooklyn is a scam! They will tell you the company/warranty covers certain things, but they are lying. For example, they say that the water tank is covered. However, when the water heater stops working, they say the tank is not covered. Does that make sense? The water heater is a tank! They cheat and lie to customers. They make it almost impossible to even make a claim by locking down the possibility to make a claim on their site. IF you can find a representative to help, the company does not pay for the claims. They made fun of me and insulted me when I called about a claim. Stay away form First Premier. Note that they have cease and desist orders against them from several states. Some credit cards will not even allow you to charge their fees on them because they have had so many cases of fraud against them!

If I could give this company a negative star, I would. I puchased a plan in 2023. Moved to a new home in 2024, It took weeks to get the policy transferred and they raised my service copay from /$45 to $60. Filed my first claim 7/11/25. As of today, 10/22/25 I have not been reimbursed. Every time I call, I am either on terminal hold and get disconnected, Phones are seldom answered and emails are ignored. I have subsequently requested to have my policy cancelled and a prorated refund. Instead, I received an email with a cash in lieu form indicating that I owe them $1,295.

They suck you in with their low premiums and a constant decrease in the deductible amount until you sign with them. Buyer beware: their claims service sucks. My first claim with them was over 3 months ago and they still haven't closed out the claim. You would think that wouldn't be a problem for the consumer however you can not open another claim online if there is still another open claim under your policy. The only way you can open a second claim is to talk to someone in the claims department. For most companies, that wouldn't be a problem but actually talking to someone in the claims department is next to impossible. They do not list any email addresses on their website so calling is your only option.
Plan on being on hold for at least 45 minutes to talk to someone and that is only if they don't disconnect your call before they answer. Yesterday I spent over 2 hours waiting on hold to talk to someone and they disconnected me at least 4 times. You will be better served is you skip over this company and contract with a reputable home warranty company.

There's not a 0 star. Do NOT waste your money with this company. I just tried to make a claim on my fridge. Do not answer their phones. Left holding for over 10 minutes then hung up on. Person called me in response to email I sent. Hung up on me when I told her I was not happy with my service. Now no one will answer my calls. I wasted $400. Service person they assigned to me. Told me they owed him thousands of dollars in unpaid repairs on claims.

-0- stars, but I couldn't leave less than 1. I purchased a 6 year warranty with First Premier. In the past 3 years, I have had 3 claims. This company is a total SCAM!! They're customer service representatives (if you can call them that!) are RUDE every time I have called either to make a claim, follow up on a claim or try to resolve a denial. NEVER use the technician they send out as not one of them is qualified for the job, they travel over 50 miles and then try to scam you by paying cash on site because they say the warranty won't cover it. Water heater-denied because they don't cover tanks. What?
Air conditioner condenser- (with their technician) took over 6 MONTHS of calls and customer rep yelling at me because I wanted explanation of why they were only going to cover $600 of the $1800 invoice. 2 months later, I received a check for $500. When I called saying that the check was suppose to be $600, they said they had to take out two $50 'service fees' to the technician. Which I paid cash upon arrival because tech wouldn't even look at unit until we Venmo'd the service fee.
Stove- gas oven stopped working. 4 days for their tech to come out because he had to travel 50 miles to walking kitchen, open the door to oven and say 'it's broken'. Took 3 months after claim was made to be offered $300. Complained that 1) the technician didn't even try to repair, as the oven is only 4 years old and cost over $1000. 2) that $300 was not even close to replacing a 'like-kind' appliance. Customer rep argued with me (and I am not an arguing type!) that is what the oven was worth and that is what they pay out. period...and hung up on me.
Garage Opener- Car was locked inside garage (we have no other door in/out of garage) with broken garage door opener. 2 days to receive a technician. They got open, repaired garage opener and replaced springs because 'they looked old'. Invoice was denied because they don't cover the springs. Ok, then the claim is for just the garage opener. No, they won't cover any of it because it included a 'non-covered' item even though we didn't need the springs they wouldn't believe me that the springs were not the original issue. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE A TOTAL SCAM!!

I regret ever signing up with this company. They took my money but gave me nothing in return. When I decided to cancel, they refused to refund me, even though I’d been a customer for less than a year. Most contractors won’t work with them because they don’t pay their bills. A few contractors came to my home and later told me they would never take another job for this company. That left me stuck without service when I needed it most.
Customer service is a complete run-around. They stall, make excuses, and promise a manager will call back at a specific time — but no one ever calls back. It’s all games while your issue goes unresolved. I’ve used other home warranty companies and never had these problems. 1st Premier is by far the worst I’ve ever dealt with — dishonest, unreliable, and predatory. ⚠️ Do yourself a favor: stay far away from this company. They will gladly take your money but leave you stranded when you actually need help.
