My wife said that they, the pots and pans clean up with ease. I have bought and tested them. And I am saying, try it you will be amazed. Emeril anodized nonstick is very good.

The same thing just happened to me that was described in Shawnda from CA's review. I was cooking a grilled cheese over my stovetop. Luckily I had stepped aside to grab my spatula when there was a loud pop, like a small caliber gun. It scared the crap out of me. I saw the metal bolt cap roll along the floor not too far away. I am grateful I wasn't standing right over the pan when it happened, because who knows what kind of injury could have happened. That would have been grounds for a lawsuit. I immediately took a photo and went online to look up this issue and found Shawnda's review.

I have been using these pans regularly for at least 2 years now. I wash, maintain, and use them appropriately. Now I am scared to use them because they are probably ticking time bombs. I can't believe there hasn't been some sort of recall on these yet. I am just waiting to hear about someone losing their eye from it! Not cool, Emeril. And I live right next to/work in Fall River, MA where he is from, and very much glorified. I guess I'll have to warn anyone I know NOT to buy his cookware. So disappointing, as I know these weren't cheap.

First off I second everything that's been said. For those who complain that the pans were so cheap we should have known, I'm sorry most of us aren't rich enough to afford higher priced cooking pans. That is extremely expensive for us and no matter if Emeril lends his name to a product he was irresponsible when he did not check it out first and Martha Stewart shame on you for selling junk at such a high price. And buying them from China? That's beneath you Martha. Someone with your reputation should have been careful. To bilk thousands of people out of money like that is beyond shameful. But someone who inside trades is a criminal so I guess you shouldn't be trusted.

You are a common thief who should go back to jail for stealing hard earned money from people by selling them pans that aren't worth a penny. I expected better. How rich do you need to be? This is my second product from you that is crap. I'm outraged. I will never buy another product your name is on or you endorse until you clean up your act. I'm done with Lagasse. No excuse. I work hard for my money at 60 years old and my family is in bad health. This was expensive for me. More than I would pay for pans normally. I had to scrimp and save for these. Now I'll go back to cheaper Teflon or ceramic.

They won't last but I won't be frustrated using them. The sticking and turning is bad and probably poison to my family! I've oiled on low heat. Didn't do any good. DON'T buy these pans. They are junk. EVERYONE TAKE These BACK TO MACY'S!!! Get your money back and let them have the junk!!! Maybe if Martha eats enough of these they'll get the message! I'm taking mine back. Noo receipt necessary at Macy's! They are desperate for customers.

Emeril’s cookware is NOT ok! I have an older set of Rachael Rays I prefer better. Anyhow! My daughter (17) was cooking with the Emeril small pan warming up some food and just out of nowhere we heard this so very loud pop, she grabbed the pan and threw it off the stove out of panic and burnt the hell out of our counter but besides that when we finally figured out a little cap that seals the bolt inside the pan popped off. (Found it in the food)??? It was so loud! In all the commotion my husband with PTSD freaks out with anger yelling, I’m making sure my kid is ok and she’s crying. I hope Emeril actually reads these, stops this from happening to someone else or seriously hurting a person. So dissatisfied with his cookware.

I purchased the original Emeril cookware in 2006 for myself as a housewarming gift. I'm still using them today, 12 years later. I've had too issues with hot spots, warping, discoloration, etc. While searching online for an additional small skillet, I came across these reviews and I must say that I'm surprised that there are so many bad ones. BUT someone here above brought up a good point about the cookware being since altered from the original. That makes sense now. When looking for replacements, I will now look for those with the All-Clad name!

I honestly can get a better knife at the Family Dollar Store! I think the set of Farberware from Walmart is a much better product, they are sturdy and sharp. I want to let everyone know, DO NOT purchase these knives, they are not worth the cost. I have to laugh that they used to be $249. There is no way! These are the worst knives I have ever purchased. I agree with everyone else that Emerilware All-Clad is an incredibly poor product made in China. Like others I associated his name with a quality product, but there isn't anything that can be cooked in the fry pans that doesn't stick so badly I had to scrape the food out with a putty knife and sandpaper. I've used the pots successfully for the past 8 years, but my 3-qt. 2-handled pot has started leaking profusely from the copper seam. It's not been dropped, dented or damaged. The entire copper layer is separating from the stainless. I've also had the problem of the covers sputtering out boiling water if not left at a tilt – very dangerous. I'm waiting to hear from the warranty company after leaving a voice message. I will call twice daily if I have to. This 10-pc set was very expensive. Moral: Name and cost do not equal quality. Very disappointed.

I had Farberware for most of my adult life and it kept falling apart, bases separated and handles fell off. Replaced it with the Emeril Cookware 9 years ago and wondered what took me so long. I have been a home cook for a long time, but I have also worked in commercial kitchens for over 25 years. The first use of the 6 qt. stockpot, by my significant other, resulted in a burnt pot. I know to season the base of the pot's interior and it works as promised. Never use a pot on FULL high heat, that is cause for disaster no matter what type/brand vessel is being used. I don't think I will ever need to buy any other pots and pans. My sister is on her 3rd set of Tefal in the same time frame.

No signs of rust or any loosening of rivets on either pans or handles. I couldn't figure out where it came from, but it was loud enough to affect the hearing in my right ear. I looked all around my stove - the lights and exhaust fan over the stove, but I couldn't figure out where the pop came from. Then I found a small, round metal piece lying on my stove. I couldn't figure out what it went to until I went to wash this pan (picture below). A piece of the pan actually popped off while cooking. I am extremely lucky it didn't pop into my face or go over the stove and hit one of my kids. Unbelievable.

I bought the Stainless Steel pot and pan set about 10 years ago, it's been great and have bought additional pieces. Recently, when I was making poached eggs, I heard an odd noise. I thought it might be some water caught underneath the pan (We have an electric stove) and everything looked fine. When I was cleaning the pan, I noticed two things on the bottom of the pan, one a good sized bubble, and a few inches away a perfectly round small dent. Looking over the pan, you can see where the copper is pulling away from the bottom of the pan. I tested it and everything thing seems fine, but wasn't comfortable using it. I also bought this set for my sister last year and one I bought for my daughter when she gets married. Having second thoughts about giving it to her.

At first I was discouraged because the bottoms of the pots turned black on the insides. I tried all kinds of ways of removing the stains, from natural to commercial products and methods. When I was unable to remove any of the stains, I figured, as long as the stains weren't affecting the flavor, etc., of my food, it would be okay.

Then, when the copper separated from the bottom, I got pissed. Just you all know Emeril has nothing to do with these products other than his name which was purchased by your very own Martha Stewart, so you all should sending her your **, since she is likely the one who is setting the standards of how they are manufactured currently. Then I heard loud noises and hot water, cookware and my food was flying all over my kitchen. My foot was burned. The bottom of the saucepan came loose from the saucepan and splattered all over my stove and kitchen floor. It took me all kinds of cleaning products to clean the black smut from my ceramic floor. I am sure if I had laminate floor it would have been ruined. I am lucky my face was not towards the stove. Then the frying pan did the same thing to my boyfriend. I have used this set for over 10 years, and although basic cooking, boiling is satisfactory, frying is simply ridiculous. Everything sticks. I thought that in time this problem would diminish, but I was wrong. Frying eggs in any fashion other that scrambled is a disaster. Bacon? Clings to the pan until you cooked so much that it becomes a deep fryer. If I didn't pay so much for this set, I would give it away and go back to cast iron. The only advantages over cast iron this cookware has is that you can put it in the dishwasher, and the handles stay cool. I have followed the recommended cooking instructions from this company to no avail. I would not recommend this cookware to anyone that fries some of their foods.

I purchased the 10-piece Emeril Lagasse by All-Clad stainless steel cookware set at Bed Bath and Beyond yesterday. I was excited that it came with a cast iron grill pan and also with a nonstick baking sheet. I had gotten rid of a lower end nonstick set that lasted only a couple of years, and was excited to get a nicer set of stainless that would hopefully last forever like my grandmother's set has. The set does not nest for easy storage. I wasn't bothered by this as I took everything out of my cabinets, deep cleaned and reorganized them to fit the new set - it needed to be done anyway, and I'd eventually get a pot rack to display my pretty pots and pans so it wasn't such a cabinet hog. Then I cooked dinner - simple night, really - I'd taken all my cooking time reorganizing my kitchen! I boiled water in the 6 quart pot and cooked pasta in it. I warmed sauce in the small sauce pot.

Later when I cleaned them, I followed the manufacturer's instructions and cleaned them in hot soapy water with the utensil the BBB manager had recommended. They were stained with spots that would NOT come out! I'm so disappointed! Now I have to take the set, the cast iron ware and the nonstick pan back! I also don't trust the store manager at BB&B because they made it sound like these were the best pots ever. I rarely shop there and I had hoped to go there and spend the extra money one spends when shopping at that store to get quality that would LAST. Instead, I have wasted a day and a half of my life, have no pots and pans, and have a trip to the store to return this with a toddler in tow.

The week before this same thing happened to my mom but there was only cooked mac and cheese in the pan but it went all over the floor. Ironically after talking with the visiting nurse who is cleaning my bandages she said she had just been taking care of two other women that had burns from cooking. She said out of curiosity what type of pan were you using because these two women had been using Emeril pans and said that they were unstable and that was why they were burned! I immediately got the chills and replied to her you will not believe this but that is what I have too. I always felt as though they were unstable but not totally sure. They tested it and said it was working fine. I explained that it will start out ok but then stop cooking (no heat). They sent it back with a fix of a new cord. I plugged it in and the light didn't come on, on the left side and no heat ever even started. So I had emailed them and explained it was not working and they have been nice about it. The guy said to ask T-Fal for a paid return receipt to ship it again and I did and they sent it to me. Now they are calling me and telling me that it works just fine and trying to tell me that the light turns off when it reaches the temp it needs to be. I know that! I told them it did not even heat up.

I spent a lot of money for this grill and I do love the idea of it. But now I can't send it back to the network and it is past the time limit. And quite obviously they are not going to replace it since they say it works fine. I am very upset with Emeril's company and very disappointed with the way Stacey spoke with me today insisting there was no problem as she was told. I am afraid I will get it back again and it will do the same thing and if I want to spend $15.00 to ship it back and forth they will continue to say it is fine. People need to get off Emeril's case. Some people need to learn how to cook, also. This cookware was designed for people who actually KNOW how to cook, not for the everyday "turn up the burner to high and forget it" types. This cookware is safe to put in the oven up to 550 degrees, so what does that tell you about people who are MELTING the cookware? Also, gas flames can get up to 3000 degrees F. Not to say the cookware will, but jeez, read up on the melting points of copper and aluminum, folks. If you are melting the pans, you are doing something way wrong.

As to the sticking issue, yes, if you don't put oil in the pan properly (olive oil is very good for you AND smokes at a higher temp than other oils), these are not the toxic Teflon coated pans ....which also stick you know. The rule is heat pan, add oil, let oil get hot and THEN add food. I made the mistake of heating oil up high enough to deep fry in the smaller frying pan and the sides got totally black (the pan did NOT melt or get even close to it). Guess what? It cleaned up shiny and like new with little effort.

Once I learned that these are not Teflon pans, and need some oil added properly for most everything fried, no problem. If I want to deep fry, I'll use a proper deep fryer (or one of my old pans). These are great. Every meal has been gourmet quality and things just seem to cook so much better if you are doing things right. Moreover, Emeril does not read this site. He is not connected with this site, and asking him to resolve your problems or make refunds is ridiculous. Not to mention, he is free from personal liability anyway. Sure, he's a celebrity. Sure he may be kind of arrogant like most celebrities (I don't know the man so can't say), but he obviously CARES about the food he prepares and would certainly care about the cookware he uses to prepare his food.

This stainless steel cookware, in my mind, is well worth the money if you know what you are doing. Moreover, ALL glass is "tempered". It has to be. Otherwise it would crack and break in the cooling off period. IF you are breaking glass lids, for goodness sakes, it's glass. Treat it with care. Use some common sense. It appears to me that most folks lodging complaints here are either clueless, or looking to win the civil suit lottery. Grow up.

I purchased a set of the stainless with copper as a wedding gift and the couple never said a bad word about them so I bought a set for myself. I did as the instructions said but they did include anything about the dishwasher so I called the phone number. Well, to my disappointment, they don't recommend putting them in the dishwasher but yet on the box they say dish washer safe. This was one of my main reasons for purchasing the set. After the first use and washing by hand, the 8" fry looks stained no matter what I do and there was sticking. For the money I spent, I am very disappointed. A lesson learned. I will keep looking for what I want and it won't be because one is famous.

Well, we were certainly duped. The pans are very difficult to clean and they are definitely not non stick. This was a terrible purchase. Literature said to not let the pan get too hot, etc, etc. Are you serious? Very disappointed. Since it was a gift, we did not attempt to return. Its been almost 3 years now, we're just stuck with them I guess.

I bought a 10 piece set of Emeril pans about 5 years ago when they first came out. They appeared to be well made and were quite beautiful in appearance. I use them every day as does my wife. After 5 years my pans and covers look as beautiful as ever. I find the handles are well designed and do not heat up excessively as do many other pans.

At first, I had to learn how to clean the minor stains that appear with USE, to keep the beautiful lustre, which took some experimentation. I soon discovered BarKeepers Friend. Like one of the posts described, if you clean the pans with a little bit of this product on a sponge it will remove every bit of staining that is naturally produced by heating oils or anything - under high heat!

After 5 years, I'm in the process of adding another 10 inch Emeril fry pan to my collection because it's so popular in my kitchen - my wife and I fight over it. I can hardly believe what nonsense I have read on this website. Any pan will melt if you overheat it! Blame Emeril? Or Emeril ware? And, I never heard of a pan yet that you don't have to clean.

When Emeril pots and pans were first offered onto the market, we obtained a full set, which were well-made and cleaned up very easily. One to two years later, we purchased more pots and pans due to the lower price and desire to have additional cookware. The newer pots and pans were dramatically lighter in weight, harder to clean, and discolored on the bottom surface.

We have not had serious problems, but it is unfortunate that the public has been a victim to the old bait and switch scheme; in this case, initial quality followed by "China Syndrome" lack of quality. Again, while one gets that for which one pays, Emeril has sold his name on the "cheap".

Perhaps, if he had his pans manufactured in the USA we would be able to enjoy the quality we were expecting when purchased.

I have had to throw all my Emeril pans in the garbage. The look of the pans were lovely however, their performance were a disaster. We certainly don't need to be filling our dump yards with pots and pans that should be lasting a lifetime.

As with any products, some problems occur. If a rivot falls out, a defect in the appliance. If you have failed to keep paperwork or receipt, your loss, if not, your protected. If your cast iron rusts, you should know that is what happens when you mix air, water and iron. The trick is after cleaning, place on low heat until all water has evaporated, results : no rust! I do not have the cookware that has the bottoms soldered on, but high heat would melt the solder and cause the bottom and the pan to separated. Gas stoves get more direct heat to the bottoms of the pans than electric stoves, but less heat with both is better.

I have just purchased the emeril pressure cooker, but again common sense, I'm sure will be needed for safe and correct cooking. If you want a good set of cookware at a low price, you can get a 10 - 12 piece "touch of home" set from Macy's around the holidays for about $40. I have bought several of these sets for myself and my kids when they set up homes for themselves. I have had mine for several years and they are still like new. My kids don't keep up on their dishes as they should, and it shows, but a little elbow grease, and they would look like new too. If a pan has the food that is being cooked in it stick, "Pam" or similar type anti-stick products work wonders. Hope this information makes your cooking experience more pleasurable.

I'm 44 and never in my life has this sort of thing ever occurred. This stainless steel pan was given to me just this past Christmas by my husband. It came in a 10 piece set by Emeril. The reason my husband bought it came down to the fact that Consumer Reports rated it extremely high. I've just spent two hours searching the web and was flabbergasted to see all the consumer complaints about this cookware exploding, melting and falling apart. Why did Consumer Reports overlook this? Having this happened once is enough for me and I plan to seek a complete refund from Emeril.

Nothing is going to convince me to risk a repeat of what occurred tonight; I will not place my family's health and safety in jeopardy. I can't believe that this cookware has not been subject to a recall. Unreal! I have no idea what will happen or if I can get our money back. We obviously threw out tonight's dinner and cleaned up the glass mess. There are a lot of complaints about Emerilware, and they all amount to one thing: we are all accustomed to using far too much heat. If you've melted metal, you have used too much heat, period. And if you believe that you have followed directions, it may be your stove that's at fault. We have grown up using inefficient cookware, so non-thermal that it required pouring on the heat. The key to Emerilware--and any cookware like it--is that you need to learn a new way to cook. And that means far, far less heat than you believe possible.

The laws of physics simply point to a simple fact: if you have melted the aluminum off your pan or pot, it's because you applied so much heat that you melted the solder that bonds these materials together. And if you actually melted the aluminum, well, look up the melting point of aluminum. Someone may have stamped Emeril's name on these--and I am not taken in by such obvious Madison Avenue conceits--but they are made by All-Clad, a highly reputable company. It's also important to note (and this should be clearly and explicitly marked on the box) that these are designed for electric or cooktop surfaces, not for a gas flame that wraps the base. If you are using gas, you need a full-wrap product like All-Clad, iron, or hard-anodized.

I am no expert in the kitchen, but at present, I work in a commercial kitchen with an expert. He only allows stainless or occasional iron. And he is always turning down the heat. "We aren't a foundry, we are a kitchen," he exhorted. So, I happily use the Emerilware. They are as slippery and nonstick as the unacceptably toxic non-stickware. Cleaning is not a problem because i have no discoloration or stuck on oil. They cook evenly and require very little energy. The burners on my electric stove never glow anymore.

Just remember, they are not Revere Ware. You simply can't turn up the heat and walk away. If you want to cook that way (and if you have kids, that's understandable), you might look for a different kind of cookware. Cooking with this kind of product requires more attention than you might be used to. Also, remember that the nature of this site is to collect complaints. This site doesn't tell the whole story. There are other sites that have collected a plethora of positive posts (4.5 out of 5 stars) and plenty of positive professional reviews and lab tests.

Yesterday I was making beef stew in my 3 quart Emerilware cookware. It was simmering at a real low temperature and suddenly we heard a pop in the kitchen. My husband went out to see what it was and found the glass top of the saucepan had exploded and put a hole in it. There were little pieces of glass all around the pot and in the stew so we had to throw the whole pot of stew away. How do I go about getting a new lid, preferably metal so this won't happen again.
I have two more glass lids for other Emeril pans and now I am afraid to use them.

I also have not cooked (after I gave up on eggs) anything which will not stick to the skillet. I bought 3 pieces of Emeril Cookware, two sauce pans and a larger 3 quart pan with lid shaped like a frying pan. The sauce pans stain badly, but I decided I could live with that. Today, I used the larger "frying pan" shaped pan for the first time to cook a roast. I heated the pan first so that I could brown the roast on both sides before adding water and onions and covering it to cook till tender. I have always done it this way but this was my first time with my beautiful Emeril pan. I put the roast into the preheated pan and stood there with tongs in hand to turn it over when it was browned on the side that was placed down. To my total and unbelievable amazement, after about a minute, I noticed silver colored metal oozing out from the seam on the outside of the pan! I pushed the pan back off the front burner to the back burner and turned the burner off. Silver-colored metal was oozing out the side of the pan in three different places.
The pan has an inlaid copper-colored (I assume it is copper)layer inserted just above the pan's bottom layer. (all three pans do). The silver-colored metal was oozing out of the top side of the seam between the copper and the pan. Metal from one of the oozing sites had actually puddled on the metal rim around the stove's burner that I was using. I stood there in horrified amazement. I was thinking what if I had walked away for a minute. I might have really had a molten mess on my hands. My first thought was had the stove been too hot. But, then I thought, I've been making roasts just like that for 33 years on that same burner on that same stove (it's electric). The only thing different was the new pan! Good grief. After I calmed down, I hunted for my receipt so I could take all 3 of the pans back. I did not want to take a chance with the other two after this experience. I couldn't find the receipt. It's been a month or so, so I decided to take some photos of my stove and the oozing mess which has hardened on the stove's metal rim so the Home Goods store would know I was telling the truth and give me a refund.

After all of the other food was finished cooking I went to pick up the pot with green beans to drain it in the sink and when I picked it up the bottom of the pot just fell off. I am very lucky that it fell onto the counter and not on me, but this grey powder was all over my stove, counter and floor. We got these pots for a wedding gift only three years ago. We care and use the pots properly but regardless of that, this should not happen to a pot. Luckily I was not hurt, but if nothing is done about this product someone eventually will be.

I went to spoon out my eggs, and all this gray powder substance came out from the bottom of the pan all over the eggs. No one was harmed, but this is ridiculous. These pans are not only expensive but also claim to be non-stick. And frankly, these are the hardest pans to clean, because they always stick no matter what you cook. Are there any recalls on these pans? I see numerous complaints out there.

Over the past 6 months, I have purchased and exchanged/returned probably 4 of these enameled cast iron Dutch ovens. When I first came across the Emeril 6.5-quart Trinity pot at Bed, Bath & Beyond for $100.00 ($80.00 with their store coupon), I was delighted, thinking it was a quality competitor to Le Creuset. The first time I used it, it bumped against the side of my sink during washing and a big piece of enamel chipped off. I exchanged it with no problems. But to my dismay, this happened with each subsequent pan I brought home, no matter how careful I was. The slightest bump dislodged a piece of the enamel. So, I returned this. I would not recommend Emeril ware, and I am now the happy owner of a Le Creuset 7.5-quart French oven. It costs about twice as much on J&R.com, but I think the quality and dependability of the brand are worth the investment.

Emerilware with All-Clad Metalcrafters - I had two separate stock pots explode from the bottom spewing molten aluminum. The first must have occurred when in use by a family member. I didn't find it until I went looking after the second. The second occurred just shortly after I put a pot with water onto boil. I was standing right next to it when it occurred, first a popping, smoke, and molten aluminum on my range and my clothes. Fortunately, I was not burned. However, my family or my pets could have been potentially harmed had anyone been standing next to me. The bottom of the pot reflected an explosion. The burner on the electric range reflected an implosion. All-Clad denied any defect in the product line and blamed it on my range burner. What about the folks who have gas or smooth top?!

This product poses an extreme danger to anyone using it. Time is not on your side, folks. Stop using it. I loathe having to destroy a gorgeous set of cookware I had owned for just a few months, but I won't take the risk and even donate it. I plan to destroy them. By the way, All-Clad kept the damaged cookware and never returned it, but I have pictures! I urge everyone who has had these problems to contact the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and lodge a Consumer Product Incident Report. This cookware must be removed from the market. I’m out the cost of the cookware, some $250 and destroyed the burner and the plug-in unit which will run close to $100 to repair on my own, more if I contract out the repair.

I then again turned a half a step away began making a cup of coffee. It did not seem like more than a minute when I was shocked and startled by the bottom of the pot exploding, sending molten aluminum on my stove, on the floor, and on me. The molten metal splattered on my legs and feet causing blisters where the metal contacted my skin, and burn where it contacted my shorts. It ran off me, off the stove and onto the floor where it pooled in places and was so hot it started the vinyl to burn (setting off the fire alarm). I was NOT prepared for this and was shocked and surprised and stood still for a moment in pain and disbelief. I stood there and could not do anything (for example, pick up the molten aluminum). After a moment I gained my composure I filled another pot with water and threw it on my legs and on the molten pools of aluminum on the floor, thus preventing further burns to my legs and a larger fire (and my house to burn down). My burns are beginning to heal. I have not yet replaced my kitchen floor. I have not been brave enough to try use the pots and pans again.

I received Emeril cookware as a wedding gift in March of 2008. I was so excited about my cookware and I read all directions, but I do not like the fact that the handles on the pots and lids get so hot that you can not touch them. I have burnt myself numerous times while cooking. Isn't there something that can be done? I have seen other cookware with covers on the handles and lids. I wish there was a way I could trade my cookware for the other set that does not burn you.

Burnt fingers have resulted from using this cookware.

Have had a one quart Emeril brand pot for less than a year purchased at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Performed beautifully for awhile. Did not overheat the pot; it heats up VERY quickly and continues to hold heat for a long time, even off the flame. Just noticed that the bottom covering of the I would guess aluminum core is separating, making the pot unusable. Don't want molten aluminum dripping on my stove or body. Is this a common complaint. What do the manufacturer's suggest, beyond using a lower temp flame -- and what is THAT exactly?

A very expensive piece of cookware is unusable after less than a year.

This is a complaint about people WHO DONT READ INSTRUCTIONS!! It is clear when you read them that you need to use a little care when you cook with this type of cookware. Never overheat them, you'll melt the aluminum disk inside. Says so in the instructions. Cook using lower heat than you'd use with regular cookware. Says so in the instructions. The handles get hot, says so in the instructions.

And by the way, try preheating the pan, THEN adding a little oil, it'll work wonders keeping food from sticking. Some of thet sticking is called glazing and is used to enhance food's flavor. You need to de-glaze the pan before you dish out the food. Research, people!

I followed the instructions of the manufacturer on how to use, and on how NOT to use the hard-anodized version of this cookware set, and I haven't had any problems. The thing with this kind of cookware is you have a wait a bit longer to allow the metal components to reach optimal temperature. And you're not supposed to leave them on the stove at high heat unattended. Once the cookware reaches optimal temperature, it cooks food very well, very evenly and thoroughly - and you get professional results.

I also haven't had trouble with getting burned by the handles - the handles on my set stay cool even after 45 minutes of medium high heat. Also, if you don't overheat the hard-anodized pots and pans, the food won't stick to them at all - in fact the food just slides around even without veggie oil. I probably wouldn't let my grandmother start using this kind of cookware without supervision at first unless she understood how they are different from the standard sort, because unlike the cheapo pots which you can just leave around to burn off boiling water, these component pots do poorly if the cook is negligent or forgetful. Best hamburgers I've ever made using the skillet in this set.

This is not a complaint but a clarification for all those who complained bout their stainless cook ware. First of all... what are you people doing boiling pots dry? Any cook ware wouuld be ruined! Clearly these pans are being left unattended at a very high temp. As far as sticking is concerned, these are not teflon coated therefore some form of oil is needed. I use olive oil which works very well. The copper band provides heat distribution to the edge for very even cooking! Turn the heat down or stir frequently to prevent sticking. This is the art of sautee. For other pots, make sure there is adequate liquid and watch your cooking temperature! I received my sautee pan from my brother in law as a x-mas present and I love it. By the way he is a master chef who knows cookware.

Unlike what the instruction said that was with the ALL-CLAD cookware said, and I quote, Stay cool cast stainless steel handles, designed for comfort and balance Superior nonstick interior with exclusive ALL-CLAD triple coating It does none of these things. The handles get hot, but worse is the fact that nothing I do can keep them from sticking. We paid a lot for these and I am VERY unhappy with the results.

This is not a complaint! I received my Emeril cookware for a Christmas gift and I love it! I think that possibly all the people complaining about it did not read the instructions. It gets hot! You have to cook at lower temperatures for good results. Scrambled eggs don't even stick in my pans. It has metal handles, why would you think they wouldn't get hot? And the free cast iron griddle and knife that I received are awesome. Thanks for your time!

My 83 year old mother received a Emeril Lagasse 10 piece stainless set of cookware last year as a gift from a family member purchased at Macy's Department store in Freemont, CA. Recently, she had a nearly disasterous experience involving one of the Emeril pots and its aluminum filled base. She was boiling water on the stove and attempting to move the pot from the stove to the sink when the pot bottom seemed to explode with molten liquid aluminum spewing over the stove, counter top, kitchen floor, and sink. She was very lucky that none of the liquified aluminum landed on her body. She was extremely terrified by this event and wants nothing further to do with this type of cookware.

I went to visit my mother and together, we took the Emeril 10 piece set back to Macy's Store to explain our plight. They were very understanding and after concluding that my mom didn't want an exchange or any aluminum filled base cookware, refunded the cost of the cookware set to her. My concern here is regarding the safety risks of using this type of cookware as it pertains to my elderly mother and all consumers, for that matter. Is this an isolated incident involving one bad pot or is a more frequent problem that we should all be made aware of?

Personal trauma of event and the costs of repair to stove, counter, floor, and sink.

In October 2006 I received a set of stainless steel cookware as a retirement gift. I have been pleased with the performance of said cookware, but when I picked up one of the pans yesterday, the gold strip has detached from the pan and is very sharp. In fact, I actually cut my wrist on it. It could be very dangerous, and someone could get hurt badly with this sharp part of the pan.

I've had 99 cent frying pans which worked better than these. This cookware is expensive and performs far more poorly than any other I have ever owned, including the very cheapest. Poor heat distribution. Everything sticks. Impossible to clean. Without question, this product is not worth the money. Do not even consider buying Emeril cookware.

We have had our Emirilware for about 3 years. Recently we have observed them heating unevenly in the bottom. Then, today, we barely averted a disaster. My husband was boiling water on the stove on medium heat. Once the water started to simmer, he was moving the pot over to the sink when the bottom half of the pot turned to liquid. As he extended the pot to the sink so the liquid would fall into the sink, the molten liquid hit the porcelain on the sink. As a result of the heat of the melted metal, our sink was shattered and there are holes in the counter top.

We will have to replace our sink, our counter top and the tile on the floor. The sink is shattered, the counter top had a hole burned into it, and the tile was burned from the molten metal. My husband's shoes were burned, and we will have to replace the cookware.

Oh how I wish I would have researched Emeril Cookware before purchasing. I am so disappointed. We spent $300 and everything sticks. I had to add oil to a pan this morning in order to cook link sausage, and I still had to work at scrubbing the pan. Hash browns stuck so bad that we finally got out an old cast iron pan. I would rather us a cheap $10 pan from Walmart. I think that Emeril should stand by his product and refund people there hard earned money.

I recently purchased a set of Emeril Agasse skillets. 3 pieces. Everything sticks to them regardless of using oil, nonstick spray, or variation of cooking temperatures. Also they immediately became discolored outside and inside and are impossible to clean. They are approximately 2 weeks old and look like crap.

Consequences are that I am out $150 for nothing and have to spend another $150 or more to replace them.
