I have well water that is bad, their system fixes it all. Been using for 25 years. They come quickly in emergencies. They deliver supplies. They are very friendly. Would recommend them to everyone that want safe water. I have softner, sediment filter, chlorine tablet charcoal filter. And UV light. Before Culligan water was dirty, muddy looking. Smelled and turned my bathroom fixtures orange. Now it's sparkling..change filters every 3 month if large family every 2 months. When it rains like it does in May then I have to change the sediment one. My area is bad. It's a must to have the system. Worth every penny. Thankful to have them.

First of all, the customer service was great from representative to delivery. The water dispensing equipment fits our everyday needs and while we're a little short on the water request side (our fault), we are definitely still saving money. If I were to pick a small con, the delivery schedule was a little past our expectations (we had no drinking water). They were still able to come a day earlier than expected. Still a great job from the Culligan staff!

Been fighting for water delivery with these ungrateful poor relation company, for days now. They lock you in on a contract for 1 year to rent their dispenser which is fine, but when they don’t come to deliver the water which is part of the deal. They put you off, ignore you needs and just run you around. DON'T! Go with this bad bad service company located in North Fond du Lac. Wish I would of just bought my water from local stores. At least I know I would of always had it. They should be ashamed to treat people as they do!

I don't know where to begin, I have lot to say but I will try to keep it short. About an year a ago I inquired water softener system and came to in contact with Culligan. I sat down with culligan Rep and decided to go with their leasing contract, Rep had me sign the contract on his Ipad. He didn't leave any document and I trusted the guy since he use to work with my friend selling barbecues. Next month came and they tried to charge to my account as I purchased the system instead of leasing it, I called their office in Ontraio and person on the phone told me it was mistake and she will fix it. She did fix it and now I was on leasing terms.
The system they installed had faulty parts that was giving wrong readings to their system as far as how much water was being used in the house and because of the wrong reading system was flushing 20 times a month and with that took all the salt and I was always out of salt. They didn't want to deliver the salt, it would take literally many calls to their office so I can get salt. I called culligan many time to let them know what was going on and it took them a year to come to my house to diagnose the system.
Now after a year their tech comes and tell me there is faulty part in here and that's why it regenerate 20 times and that's why you are always out of salt. He told the whole thing to his manager "Jose" on the phone when he was at my house I can hear the whole conversation. When I called culligan to complain about it Jose the manager said their system was working properly and he has no knowledge of faulty parts even though he knew everything than he said even if there was faulty parts system was still working properly.
I asked him, "Ok if the system was working fine why did you have to change the parts?" He has no answer. After I had their system installed I changed all of my toilets costing me $500 a piece and I have 4 of them and now they all look like the one I had prior. There is lot more about this culligan location I don't have enough time to finish this but I will say one thing at the end. Stay away from them. I wouldn't even give them 1 star if I had option.

Got their "service" for dialysis. The guaranteed the system would work. It's been a year now and it has never worked the way they said it would. Made NUMEROUS calls to the office and get ignored. Never came out to see what was wrong but kept calling and calling and calling to remind account was due (autopay so that was wasted call). FINALLY a lady comes out and says we will switch tanks and adjust your account and you'll save money... Months went by and nothing, finally a guy came out to switch tanks. Right away he told my wife that this system would have NEVER worked for what we needed because the Culligan Install guy plumbed it all wrong. Got in new tank, BILL NEVER WAS ADJUSTED. Still has the egg smell they said would go away. No answers, but got ANOTHER withdraw from account this morning and still same price. $100 a month for a year on something that has never worked right and they don't care.

I needed my Culligan water softener medium refurbished. Culligan took my unit to the shop to do re repair. After 2 weeks I hadn't heard from them so I called to find out status. They had no idea what I was talking about and knew nothing about my repair or if they even had my unit. After a day they found it and said they would come out that day to reinstall my unit. I waited all day for them and they never showed up so before closing time I called the Sacramento office and was told they couldn't make. They didn't give me a new date and now they will not even return my calls.

The plumber was the sorriest excuse for a professional on the planet earth. Six months into owning our softener, it started to leak. I put up with the occasional leak. I called a year into ownership, and got a service call. The plumber was the sorriest excuse for a professional on the planet earth. He claimed the tank needed replacing at hundreds of dollars as the threads on the top were ruined by our house pressure. He claimed the pressure at our house spiked at 120 psi and it ruined our regulator, and the pressure had somehow stripped the plastic threads on the conditioner.
Fact. I had the city test the pressure in the neighborhood. 88 psi. Fact. I had them test it at my house. 88 psi, Fact, I bought a tester and tested it…You guessed it, 88 psi. Fact. The Culligan website lists the softeners certified to work between 20- 125 psi. Fact. I lowered the water regulator pressure to 40, and the leak stopped. Fact, I replaced the rubber seal at the top and re tightened the softener head. Fact, at 50 psi, the unit does not leak leak, at 70 it does. It leaks past the upper rubber seal. This is a design flaw. No damage to the unit from pressure, it’s a flaw.
To top it off, the tech put new salt in our unit by request. The bags are stored on the back of a dirty truck. He opened dirty bags over our unit, introducing dirt and mold spores into our salt container. It was clean before he arrived. Full of dirt after his departure. How incredibly unprofessional. So either one of two conditions exist.
1. Culligan is AWARE and part of the scam to coerce customers into needlessly buying new units due to “over pressure“ which Isn’t the case.2. They use unethical and or shitty plumbers to do their work.
To top it off. I got charged 180$ for this dazzling display of unprofessional behavior. Fortunately I am mechanically inclined and caught this ** assessment. I pity the elderly on a limited income, or the mechanically un-inclined, who will fall prey to this scam. I’m inclined to get a news channel to do some investigative reporting on culligan. Avoid culligan at all costs.

Please do not use Culligan. They deceived and lied to me and told me if I sold my house that I would not have any penalties if the new owner signed up. So I made it part of my home sale and now Culligan are making me pay an extra month plus a $450 charge even though I have the new owners who want to take over the service. I specifically asked about this before I signed up and was assured it would be ok to move without penalty. When I called in the most awful woman spoke to me and threatened me about it too. Thereafter I check the water ppm and it was 33. That is higher than bottle water which is 24. I called and mentioned the fact. Been told that wait for few days and it will clear out. Month later I check again and it is in red zone and ppm is 43. When it comes to service neither I can get someone on phone nor I can leave a message. It stinks. I hate this company. Years ago, when I contracted with Culligan for a whole-house pH adjuster, the salesman lied about almost everything, in order to get the sale. First, he told me that the canister could be refilled by the homeowner. This is not true. I need to get an service guy to come out and remove it, every couple years, and take it to the service center to be cleaned and refilled. This takes a couple weeks and costs — last time I got it done — several hundred dollars. Second, he promised me a free, comprehensive water analysis. When I contacted the Culligan office to arrange the water sampling, the manager said they had no record of that part of the agreement, and that they don’t even offer that service. Third, he tried to sell me a superfluous, two-canister treatment system that would have reduced my water pressure to near zero.
The fact is the salesmen who come out to do a pitch and get a contract work on commission. They will say what they need to in order to get you to sign. If I could have a do-over, I never would have gone with Culligan. Before I purchased their treatment system I used a locally-owned company that switched out smaller media canisters every month. It was an inexpensive service, and a far better way to treat our water. But after spending well in excess of $1000 on the Culligan canister system, I am now stuck with them.

We had a different company put in a whole house system in our Clearwater house but went with Culligan at our new place. The price was high but we wanted a great system. We went with a whole house softener and undersink RO setup. It came with 1 year of regular service. Seems like every month the salt tank was overfilled and always had a salt bridge I needed to deal with. Then the system broke and was dumping salt water on the ground and we didn’t notice until we were notified we had a huge dead spot of grass. While the system was repaired the tech said they don’t fix the grass. After I made a few comments about it he said he’d talk the the manager and have him call us, but nobody ever did. It cost us our time, money and labor to get the grass fixed. Culligan didn’t seem to care.
The water not coming from the RO system always tastes briny. Like when showering or brushing teeth. The final straw was when I received a 30 day past due email bill/notice that I owed for 2 months of service! This was the first bill I ever got, email or otherwise. I have a water well, and the water contains sand particles and gives off a sulfur smell in the summertime. I contacted Culligan and purchased about $8000 worth of water treatment equipment from them including a water softener, chlorinator, sand trap, outside filter, and reverse osmosis system on the company's recommendation based on my problems. I thought that the initial cost of the equipment was reasonable. However, once I was locked into this investment, then any time that I have needed any part of service from Culligan, no matter how simple, it has been significantly overpriced. A service call alone costs me $140.
I called them once when my reverse osmosis system wasn't functioning and described the problem. There was no trouble-shooting over the phone for simple fixes. All they'll do is offer to send a technician out. So the technician got there and told me that the battery had gone out on the leak detector, and the system wouldn't function if that leak detector didn't have power. Seems like they could have told me that over the phone. Anyway, they billed me $140. Once I had a dishwasher repairman tell me I still had sand in my water. I called Culligan. They sent a technician. He came over and basically told me there's nothing he can do about it. Small sand particles are unable to be filtered by their system. $140. I had about a 6 inch rubber tube get a leak on the chlorinator pump. I was bound and determined not to call them. I tried to find a replacement on my own and ended up not getting the right part. I broke down and called Culligan.
The 6 inch rubber tube was $45 plus $10 shipping. Once I got the part and could figure out the part number, I found the same part online for $17 and free shipping. The culligan salesperson also told me when I bought the $8000 system that it had a lifetime warranty. However, I have always been charged for everything when anything has gone wrong. The lid to my chlorinator was made of thin blue plastic. After sitting out in the sun for a couple years, it started cracking and just disintegrated.
When I contacted culligan for a new one, I was told they had never heard of that happening, and the part is simply unavailable. They provided me with some black rubber cap that doesn't fit properly. I had to wrap it with gorilla tape to get it to fit somewhat snugly and not allow water to pour into the system when it rains. Also, the lid to my chlorinator started to deform over time. There is a hole in the lid for some 1/4 inch tubing to enter which is not water-tight. With the lid deformed, water would pool when it rained and get into the system. Again, culligan came out and looked at it, and told me to just keep sealing around the tubing with some caulk. Every time I have needed service or parts, I have felt ripped off while receiving substandard fixes for the maintenance of what is a big investment for me. I initially felt like the purchase of the system was a fair price, but the overpriced service and parts make me regret ever buying it.

Now the water softener is not working correctly at all and I contacted Culligan complaint department. I did get a call from Culligan and was asked about my problem. Culligan said the would contact the Culligan dealer in my area. Since then, I haven't heard anything from Culligan. I will never buy a Culligan product again with their poor service. Get a Kinetico since they do have service that will help you.

We has a Culligan softener purchased in 1999 and had no problem till 2018. Then on Nov 2018 we had a sale person stop buy and demonstrate the new product. Due to past experience and it being 20 years old we purchased the new one. In last one year and 6 month we had tech visit 3 times to fix issues with installation and latest being water inside the electric circuit. Each time I raised concern and the response was good. However this time the repair is more serious I raised my concern on the product quality and the response from the management is that the product went through a change and the new version now comes with a cover for the electric circuit. They won't charge for the cover but I need to pay service fee.

Culligan is probably the least reliable company to purchase a Reverse Osmosis System from. I purchased their system in November of 2018. I was told that 3 of the filters (Sediment, Activate Charcoal and small filter) were good for one year and that the Reverse Osmosis filter would be good for 5 years. So, I picked up the one year old filters in September 2019, (less than one year). I changed out the old filters and used the system for 5 months when the system stopped working. (No water flow.) I called for service. They came out and told me the "5 Year" filter was clogged and no good. (This 5 year filter lasted all of 18 months.) Now tells me I need to buy a new one for $120., plus the $148 service call ($268.00 plus tax)...
THIS SERVICE CALL LASTED 13 MINUTES!!! I asked the service rep. if he could also change out the faucet for the RO system that was leaking. He told me he doesn't have the time. Remember...just for the 13 minute service call to solve whatever problems I had cost $148!!! AND HE DOESN'T HAVE TIME!!! REALLY??? So now to get the faucet replaced it will be an additional $148 +. The most painful and upsetting part of this is that I paid $1,200.00 for this cheap ** system. Never use them again. When the next filters fail, I will purchase a reliable system, from another dealer/manufacturer and junk this P.O.S. Before purchasing this RO system, I had used Culligan for 20 + years for my Water Softener at my previous home. Won't do that again either.???

After all the testing and inspection she said that the current system is working great and that a new system was not warranted at this time. She knew from the beginning I was ready to replace the system. It would have been an easy sell. Honesty in sales? How refreshing. First I was surprised I didn't receive any confirmation on the day prior to the appointment as they usually do. When I call them the next day, they told me they call my house and were told we no longer need to service. Considering for 15 years they were calling my cell number I was very surprised to hear it and asked what number did they call. Of course they didn't give me the right number, instead made up some number I never heard of.
I spend 30 min of my work time on the phone rescheduling the appointment making sure they have the right number and the gate entry code as I know that usually people don't have it when they come to my house. I got an appointment for Middle of November. Today the contractor came to my gates but didn't have the gate entry code and turn away. Terrible customer service. I will be contacting BBB and headquarters in Rosemont regarding this particular franchise. The Privilege service program is not privilege at all because this franchise doesn't abide contact terms. It states that the resin filter in the softener tank should be changed as needed, but AT LEAST ONCE IN EVERY 5 YEARS. It has been 8. The pressure in the house was gone, had to replace main valve for $700 just to find out its old Culligan's resin. They supposed to change filter at least 3 years ago for free under the terms of maintenance contract, or at least notify me it should be changed. They did nothing. Until I had major issues and found out about it. I had to wait 2,5 weeks for appointment, that was on Saturday as well (!) for them to correct their wrongs. And now it looks I have to wait another week for repair.
No, repair itself takes only 1 day. It's an appointment to install the tank back with new resin that cant be scheduled quick. The customer service and the manager, aware of my specific situation and did nothing to expedite the first call, neither they scheduled the consecutive second call ahead, being well aware that it is what be needed. Service in our area is MARGINAL at best and has been that way for the past 5-10 years. VERY FRUSTRATING. BACKGROUND: We live in Cincinnati and have used Culligan for almost 25 years. Service used to be "great"...on time, as scheduled and no hassles. Clockwork. SERVICE: This office can NOT consistently deliver salt or service their water purification systems. It's SAD. I can't tell you how many times we've called to remind them that it's been MONTHS since their last salt delivery OR that our water purification filter needs to be changed. And when they do come out for a salt delivery they often FAIL to read the delivery notes on our work order to access their equipment by way of our storm cellar entrance. We regularly find salt stacked on our front door stoop or outside our side door.
INCONVENIENT: Culligan migrated to automated delivery reminder calls that force you (the customer) to LISTEN then hang up, STOP what you're doing - NOT an option if you're driving or working - LOCATE the number of your local branch, CALL then WAIT to speak to the correct person IF you're out-of-town OR need to reschedule the delivery.
DECEMBER 2018: It has now been 3 weeks since Culligan stacked our salt delivery outside the side door rather than deliver it using our storm cellar entrance, week 2 they failed to show after we rescheduled, then week 3 the driver "claimed" he could NOT find our side entrance which off the driveway ~20 feet to the left of our front door despite an All Deliveries SIGN with an ARROW pointing to the side door! Week 4 they finally managed to pick up the salt. RIDICULOUS. MARCH 2019: our scheduled delivery went as planned - WooHoo! ...Or so we thought until our dogs ran off that night and we discovered Culligan left the side gate to our back yard "open'. Oh joy. (not)
AUGUST 2019: I received a VM message from our new route driver saying his delivery ticket did not provide any direction as to what to do with our salt so he left it on our side porch (again!) How ironic since we receive multiple automated text delivery alerts and emails. Anyway we exchanged text messages and I requested him to please stop back later in the week to complete his delivery so we could re-secure our cellar door which we must leave unlocked to accommodate their schedule. After 8 days the salt was still stacked on our side porch so I called the driver and my call went to VM so I called the office. They said the best they could do was schedule a driver in another 7 days. Argh! Why me? SIDE NOTE: The ladies that answer the phone are VERY pleasant, they try to help, they schedule the work and can only apologize when it doesn't get done.

Was then helpful enough to update my phone number, then another hold and transfer, they weren't the right person to help. Next representative up spent five mins trying to collect my phone number. I might have been interrupting a tough game of tetris on the other end as I had to repeat the information four times. Offered to put me on hold and transfer. They offered no assistance to find a technician. I called a second time only to be told the same thing by a second person, after finding that their suggestions for a DIY fix didn’t work. I asked again about technical service and after another runaround like at the first call I was told ”Well, you could call a plumber”. My tenants called to cancel Culligan for some reason. Culligan cancelled the service. I called them and told them that the account is in my name and that I play the bill, how is it possible for a random person to call and cancel my account? They apologized and said they would fix it. Well then they called me and said "Well sir since you're now a new customer you'll have to switch to our new system, but not to worry that system is gonna cost you $500 upfront and increase your bill by 100% every month." Needless to say I was furious. I had been with them 10 years before they made me a new customer because one of my tenants tried to cancel it, which they cannot do, so what happened you might ask... Well I got screwed, no one else in my part of town offers the service and they know it. I screamed my way to the top and they don't care so long as they have your money.
Well I have good news for Culligan. In 17 months we have a new company coming to town. I currently have 22 people who have agreed to switch (19 being family). See what Culligan didn't know was that everyone on my street is related to me. We have kept all the land in the family and we are dumping them day one. New company is running a deal where anyone who agrees to switch within the next year gets a permanent discount going forward. We're trying to get up to 50 ppl in our area to switch and basically chase Culligan off. We even requested yard signs as soon as possible so people driving by will know there is going to finally be fair play In town.... Oh did I mention that this new amazing thing resulted in a giant shed being placed right on the front yard that they didn't insulate and when it froze up told knew I was on the hook and had to pay to have it fixed only 90 days later???
This company is straight up a scam. I'm doing my best to chase them out of our town. Funny thing is no one else on my street has this new expensive system, just me since I was a "new" customer. Unbelievable. Can't wait to throw this shed and pumps in the street in 17 months. It isn't about the money you understand, it's about the fact that they took a customer who had paid his bill on time every month for 10 years and screwed him when they had a chance. Avoid this company and do not buy their new better system which has had to have more service than my old one. The old system worked fine and never had a problem, that's probably why they want to you to switch so they can nickel and dime you w service fees every chance they get.

By late afternoon, called again. Got ANOTHER promise of ‘it may be after 5 pm, but someone WILL be there’. Still waiting for even a call or update. Nothing! 9 pm... We have a choice of running water (shower, toilet, dishwasher, etc.) to include a flooded garage containing much of what didn’t burn. OR, no water at all but remaining possessions stay dry. I would not recommend this company for a water Softener. I have owned my Softener for 4 years now. Today I called to have someone come out for Maintenance as I don't think it is working properly. I was quoted over the Phone that the charges would be $99 for the first 15 minutes then $34.50 for each 15 minutes after. This comes out to 202.50 per hour. I THINK THEY ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF WITH THESE PRICES.

I have had a Culligan Water Softener for 8 years now. The original system required replacement after 4yrs, and now after 8yrs, the control valve has stopped working. I diagnosed the failure this time myself, since the last time Culligan visited my home, it was an example of incompetent field service. I had to call Culligan head office to motivate proper service. I have no complaints about head-office staff! Head-office is responsive and gets the job done.
This time, I texted the office admin photos of the replacement parts I needed before arriving. I was told they had one in stock and would put it on hold for me. Different story when I actually arrived. On pricing the replacement control valve assembly, the admin punched some numbers into a calculator, and two of them stared at it for ~20sec, before one of them said it was a non-negotiable $560. That was after the admin said it would be $271.33 in the text message, and the parts guy said it was around $1400. Finally, do not expect more than 4yrs of service from the controls valve assembly (Gold or Platinum series). If Culligan decides to contradict my account, I have the text messages to back up my account.

We purchased a Culligan whole house system w/ osmosis 13 years ago. No problems until about 1 yr ago. I called, they came out and "fixed" it in October 2017. Then, the system still wasn't "fixed" correctly. I called them back. We had no water pressure. I called the county for a pressure test and from the street to my home it was good. Culligan came out again in January 23, 2019 and I explained about no pressure. I was told by the "knowledgeable" tech to bypass the system. After paying over $6000, I cannot use my system? Give me a break. I was also told that to enter my house, I had to pay $140. Not going to happen. I paid $90.
I was told that the lining had worn out. They took my tank and had it for 3 weeks and finally scheduled a return visit for installation in one more week. On the day of the scheduled visit, no one called me. I waited all day and finally called them. I was told during several phone calls: "the installation won't be today, it was on the truck that got stuck in the snow", "it is in our warehouse and never was on the truck" and was told it would be the following Friday for reinstallation which would be another week of no soft water.
I finally went to Culligan, asking for a manager. I became unglued on them. They scheduled a delivery date for Monday. Two men brought it out and reinstalled it. It was fine until Wednesday when my husband saw standing water next to the tank. He opened the electrical board and water came pouring out. That's just dandy!! I called the manager again about this problem. A tech showed up and told me he could bypass the salt sensor and we "didn't need it anyway. My question: "Why is it on there and shouldn't we just fix the problem instead of bypassing it?" I was interrupted and talked to like a toddler. I got angry and told him to fix it and fix it correctly. That made him mad.
The service people are extremely unprofessional. He came back the next afternoon, showed me a beige wire and explained that the sensor wire had been changed from the beige one to the "new" black one and it was fixed." As he went out the door, he called me a ** under his breath. This was late Thursday and I was told I would have to pay for the visit... Not on your life was I paying a dime. On Saturday, no water in the brine tank and no water from the reverse osmosis faucet. I called and was told that the actual service manager would come to repair it tomorrow morning. We will see. Do NOT BUY A CULLIGAN!!!

They came out, but first couldn't find us. They didn't do like they usually do, come check then work. This time they want to talk for like 5 minutes performing water test not asked for. Didn't know we have all three machines even though he is the last one came out. Now bill time and bill is double what I'm used to paying. No way!!! We moved to Ohio 4 years ago and had never dealt with water softeners before. There was already a Culligan system in the home (rented) and so we continued with them for convenience sake. We pay $115 per month for a rental softener system and a bimonthly salt delivery. In early March of 2017, our Culligan man came to deliver the 10 bags salt. He carried them through to our tank and stacked them one on top of the other. I did not follow him back to the tank and did not see this precariously tilting tower of bags.
The next day we discovered that this pile of salt bags had fallen over and into one of the water pipes connected to the tank and had caused the storage room to flood, damaging many of our belongings. The water had also seeped into the carpeting of our rec room. I called Culligan and they sent a repairman to fix the pipe. They came to take pictures and assured us they would be in touch. That was the last communication we received regarding the flooding. I have since called and described this incident to several customer service representatives, each assuring me someone will be contacting me regarding this issue, but over a year has passed and we have yet to have this issue acknowledged by Culligan.

In less than 2 year the unit (Culligan Water Softener HE) stopped softening the water. We did not realized that since we have no sensors to let us know that the water was not soft. After a while, the two of us felt that the water was not soft. Today, the service man (who did a great job by first trying to fix the old flow meter), replaced the flow meter and charged us over $350 ($133 service call/labor + $195 for the flow meter + $5 Service fee). I would NOT recommend Culligan to anyone!

At the time, I was just going to have the whole house filter removed but due to the representative, I felt it was best to remove the entire system. He seem to consider it a joke wanting it removed and told me that he would call me back the following morning, Tuesday.
Well by 4 pm, I did not hear from him so I called him and he laughed saying "Oh, you really wanted it removed? Hahaha". It was said that on 15th of May the office would call to set up a time and date for the installation of the new box... Until the 4th of June, it was pure silence on Culligan part. Meanwhile we made the decision that enough was enough and that their negligence of not establishing communication was unacceptable. I called and got Culligan out of their torpor and demanded removal of the unit.
I got connected to Rob ** who listened to my grievance and in a very gentle and compassionate manner said he would ask his GM to contact me. The GM (Russ) started to use a salesman pitch telling me how the internal affairs at Culligan, recently, had taken a toll on Culligan's good will. Needless to say that I shared with him that we all have internal stress not depriving us to function and address the needs presented to us. He got annoyed with my request and my determination to have it put to execution. He then got very short and that was the end of the conversation and he agreed to have the unit removed omitting to tell me when! At 3:30 pm that day, a technician took care of the problem and that was it (all of a sudden Culligan had recover its efficiency!) The GM never had the courtesy to tell me how the refund would be handled etc...
So, contacted Culligan and asked to talk to Rob ** and with his equal gentleness and graciousness, he informed himself of the procedure for refunds. He excused himself for being not aware of financial procedures in a case like ours, being a salesperson. In my case, Mr ** and the technicians involved put some balm on a bitter experience with Culligan and the less than pleasant rapport with Culligan GM.

There are many choices in water filtration - you can find reputable LOCAL installers in any area. Consider that the a system is "installed" and becomes part of the home plumbing. Now, consider that you may wish to move - expected or unexpected - and you still owe on your water filtration system. Imagine further that the company you chose DOES NOT allow for transferring the balance. OUCH! Welcome to the world of the Culligan customer.
One of the more expensive filtration options across the spectrum and you're stuck with the remaining balance to either leave it in the home or remove the equipment to bring with you when you move. Well that is special - paying for equipment you won't even benefit from. If it is too late, be sure to tell your Realtor so that you may account for the remaining balance in your NET sheet. If it is not too late and you are reviewing options, be sure to read their fine print and select a local installer for the best results to fit your needs.

I had the salesman come to my house and we talked about what I was spending in bottle water and how by purchasing the system I would be cheaper in the long run to get an RO system and I would not have to mess with bottles anymore. The only truth was about the bottles. He told me the filters should last about a year and they would be about 150 annually. He did not add that every other year it would be over $400. I think you should get an RO system but do not buy from Culligan. Find a system that you can buy the replacement cartridges online from multiple vendors. Otherwise Culligan will rip you off for the price of them. Similar cartridges I have found online are almost half the cost and filtration is very similar.
They also did not know what they were doing. Within a couple months the system was having issues. After making them come look at it I found out that we had low water pressure and they wanted over $400 to sell me a device that fixed the problem. I paid a plumber less than $100 to do the same thing and it fixed the whole house not just RO system. After that they told me the low water pressure caused the filters to go bad. And made me pay for new ones. I asked them what the pressure was when they installed it and asked if they could provide documentation of testing it. They said they would have tested it and documented but could not find it. I reminded them that legally if they did not document it then it did not happen. I will never buy from them again.

I wanted to start by saying that I have never had a soft water system in my life. I have no knowledge of what artificially softened water is or how it worked, but I learned the hard way very quickly. I relied heavily on Culligan's "expertise" or lack thereof, and we paid a heavy price for it. The first thing that they did, was hook up our entire house to the softener system. I found out recently that our kitchen faucet should not have been attached to this system; had they not done this, there would have been no problems. They assured us that the water was ok for us to drink, and that it would be ok for our fish. One of our 4 winter koi tanks is in our dining room, we have to do their water changes from our kitchen sink. The first time we did a water change, our fish started flashing and becoming visibly irritated the next day. Not realizing that the water was the problem, we did several more water changes, only accelerating their conditions.
After losing several fish, we put them in a hospital tank near our other fish, but it was too late. One by one, they kept perishing. My 3 year old who loves our fish dearly would keep running up to tell us as they died, that another fishy stopped talking to her. In total we lost 12 Koi. Our large Shubunkin goldfish has been on death's door for over two weeks, but somehow is still clinging to life. It took us months to locate these fish, and some of them were imported from Japan, and cost hundreds of dollars to purchase and have shipped to us. When I spoke to Dane and Jeff with Culligan, they seemed unimpressed, and did not care that this had happened to us, and refused to compensate our losses due to their lack of knowledge of their own system. Removal of their system was promptly requested after this.

We were immediately contacted by a salesman in the Tampa office. The salesman Lee initially came the wrong day and then the wrong time the next day but that was no issue for us. The presentation was good and the salesman presented himself well. He explained he had worked for Culligan for over 20 hours, this was his only job and he presented himself very knowledgeable. My husband and I decided we would get the system although it did appear to be quite expensive.
A quote for a water softener, reverse osmosis system, and a sulfur clear system came to approximately $8500. My husband signed a contract but it did state that we could cancel within three business days. By the next day we decided that we were going to cancel before the system was even installed. My husband called the office and they canceled the installation and said it was no problem. However my husband then got a call from the salesman Lee threatening that we had signed a contract and it was legally binding. He continued to say that there was no way to get out of the contract and the three day did not apply in our situation. He threatened that our credit would be negatively affected and if we didn't install the system we would still owe $8500.
The salesman then called myself and continue to threaten me. He even called the installation crew and told them to go ahead and install the system even though we had canceled. Luckily I got home and was able to get the installation canceled but they had already started to take apart my system. The salesman got angry over the phone, continued to threaten and try to bully us into continuing with the insulation and then eventually hung up on me.
The next day I contacted Culligan and did receive a call back from the director of operations who had assured me that we did not owe any money and we had canceled within the allowed amount of time. What would've happened if I didn't get home in time and the system was installed in my house after I had said to cancel? What if I would have believed that I couldn't get out of the contract? I don't know but I want to make sure other people don't get bullied into buying a system they are still within the legal amount of time to cancel. I'm not sure if this is how they do business or get sales but to try to bully and manipulate customers into a product is unethical and unprofessional!

I have been a Culligan customer for a little over 5 months. Since the beginning of my contract, there were problems. I was told that my tanks would be able to be changed on the weekend. When no one showed up to change them. I found out the information I was given was not true. After that date, none of my exchanges were done at the scheduled time if the representative even showed up. I was never given a courtesy call to inform me that they were unable to come.
After, working for a month to get a standing appointment there have still been problems. I received a voicemail at 5 am from the fill in representative telling me that his regular route was too far from my home to make it. I finally decided to disconnect my service and ended up in a debate with the customer service representative who stated someone came to my house but couldn't get in. If it wasn't for the voicemail I had from the tech saying he wasn't coming they may have been able to use that as an excuse.

I have had a Culligan softener and a reverse osmosis drinking water system installed at my last two homes. As of 2017 I've had a total of 27 years of experience with the company and their products. I've never had a significant problem with the company or its products. At my older home the salesman explained that their monthly service is not something I need. It meets the needs of seniors and others who find it inconvenient to purchase and transport the heavy salt bags necessary to softener operation. I've had each system maintained every year or two, costing $100-200. In 27 years, the software has failed once. It cost something over $100 to return it to service.
If I were to purchase another home I'd call Culligan again. Based on my experience I have recommended Culligan to others and I will continue to do so. To my knowledge, neither I nor any member of my family and no friend or co-worker has worked for or with Culligan or had any other sort of business relationship with Culligan. I was not compensated in any way for the posting of this review.

Purchased a FM-15 faucet-mount water filter, after having HORRIBLE experience with crappy PUR filters. The Culligan filter assembly is simple to mount, last a long time, and are equally as easy to replace the filters. These filters are durable, and do not fall apart like PUR filters. I would highly recommend this product... and the water tastes great.

I purchased a whole house water filtration system. We paid close $5000. It keeps breaking down. We keep having to pay $200 or more for repairs. Even the under the sink filtration I noticed that the filters are not factory flushed. And when we attempted to change the cartilages ourself we noticed gallons of water would come up black. Even after ditching 3-4 full tank. For filters that costs close to $250 I think Culligan should do some research. I don't trust what I have been drinking so far. Most likely carbon. I am going to ditch all of their system, I don't trust the quality. Wish I had read all the reviews before.

Outrageously expensive for services not provided: $690 - the cost to purchase your own, high-quality softener and RO filtration plus 1 year of filters and salt. $5,770 - the cost of a 3-year contract with Culligan to rent their basic softener and RO filtration with "service". This cost does not include filters, salt, or salt delivery. BEWARE of these criminals! I signed a three-year contract with Culligan for a water softener and reverse osmosis drinking water filter because I didn't know any better and didn't do research. And truthfully, I had always thought of Culligan as a trusted name.
First off, who requires a three-year contract? That is way too long and too many variables for both parties to follow through on. Culligan didn't fulfill their end of the contract and I canceled 18 months into it after many negative experiences dealing with failed equipment, shotty service, poor water quality, and endless frustrations. I ended up purchasing my own equipment for 1/6 the cost of what the entire contract would have cost me. I'm still negotiating the early cancellation with them. They refuse to release me from the contract even though I have multiple proofs that they didn't fulfill their end of the contract. I will be filing a claim with the BBB.
I should have know right away when the salesman said he would come back and test our water a week or so after installation to show us the difference and never showed. He also said he would come back and clean our fixtures as the change would make our water dirty with sediment. This also didn't happen. In fact, I never saw the salesman again.
On more than one occasion I had to call Culligan because my softener stopped running and displayed an error message to call Culligan. Both times when I called (one time I even got a former employee who no longer worked there) they directed me to cancel out the error message, which prompted the softer to run. Neither time did I get a visit to my house, and both times left my water tasting and feeling rusty and hard.
I've had to call multiple times for salt delivery that was supposed to happen automatically but didn't (which I was also charged separately for, in addition to my monthly bill). The workers always came into my house without removing their shoes when nobody was home leaving tracks on my floors and carpet. On one occasion they left my softener unplugged! I wouldn't have noticed it, but my boyfriend fortunately did and plugged it back in a few days after their visit. In 18 months my reverse osmosis filters were not changed, not even one time. My water and ice tasted like prescription medication.
Do your research before you call these crooks. I purchased a brand new water softener with a higher grain count, and a brand new reverse osmosis filtration system with more cycles, including alkalization. My water tastes so much better since purchasing my own equipment, plus I own it instead of renting. With the purchase of the improved softener, higher quality RO filtration, and filters for a year I have paid LESS than I did renting from Culligan for 6 MONTHS!!!
Beware of their salesmen and what they say. He convinced me with promises that never came to fruition. The amount of money they charge for this service and equipment rental is criminal. I wish I had done more research before I signed a contract with them. Don't make the same mistake I did. They all drive fancy cars for a reason. You will be over charged and underserved.

We had this house built in May of 2016. You all came in and put in the system on June 2016. I called because it was not working. The repair guy came buy to fix 5 days later. By then I decided I didn't want it anymore. When he got here I told him that. He went to the basement did something to it and left. It still did not work. He told me he would have talk with a manager. He finally came back and took the tank and left. He did not restore the water heater nor the refrigerator flooring that he put a hole in back to the way it was.
Moving forward to now we go out of town for a week, we get back and the water heater is no longer working. The builder came out and said he could touch it because it was not equipment that came with the home. The water has been leaking this whole time with no emergency fix. This is unacceptable. I need everything taken off that was installed. The piping and the plastic tube running through a hole you all made in my floor under the refrigerator. I need everything restored back to the way it was before the faulty install. That way the builder can fix everything because the house is still under warranty. He said once you all take out the bad equipment the leak will be fixed and he can assess any damage to the water heater caused by the faulty install and removal. I would also like to be compensated for the water bill and the water damage to my home and water heater. We are still without hot water right now. The water is still leaking right now.

Culligan of Kansas City is rife with incompetence. In April 2014 my old water softener died after 15 years of faithful service. About 35 years ago I rented a Culligan water softener in Illinois and was very satisfied with them so I decided to "upgrade" to a Culligan water softener. I didn't pay attention to how the guy installed it because I figured that Culligan would do a good job. Not so much! The guy was plumbing the softener into a 3/4 inch line but he reduced it down to a 1/2 inch line with some shark bite fittings and pex connections. There was a 1/2 inch elbow on each of the lines, then more fittings to take it back up to 1 inch to attach to the water softener head. So, what this does is to reduce the flow of water in my entire house (except for the one outside faucet that is not softened water). I don't know if he just didn't have 3/4 inch elbows on his truck or what.
Fast forward one month. Culligan billed me for $2304.45 and said I was a month overdue! I had financed the installation through Culligan with Foundation Finance and was paying Foundation $407.12 a month so that I could get it paid off within 6 months for their "no interest" offer but their billing office was still billing me for the whole amount.
Now fast forward to February 2016. This thing runs its regeneration cycle at 2 am and it takes just under 2 hours to run. At 5:00 am the thing was still running water down my drain. It was stuck on one of the back washes and giving an error code 1. It was only 1 year and 9 months old! My old no-name water softener lasted 15 years! The Culligan guy came out and really didn't know what was wrong with the thing. He ended up replacing the circuit board. (I argued vehemently with this guy when he wanted to charge me for this and ultimately I was not charged.)
Fast forward 10 months to Christmas morning 2016. I woke up at 4:00 am to the sound of running water! The water softener was again stuck in one of its back flushes and was running water down the drain. It had an error code 1. I unplugged it and put it on bypass to stop the water from running down the drain. A few hours later I plugged it back in but it did not reset and got an error code of 4 so I unplugged until that evening. When I plugged it back in it reset and did another regeneration. Meanwhile I had to use water so I have a water heater tank full of hard water. Culligan wants another $175 to just come out here. Their warranty on the board is 5 years and on the control valve is 10 years but it costs $175 for them to come out each time.
It is now February 2017 and this thing has done the same thing of getting stuck on a back flush and giving an error code 1. It has done this twice since December! Apparently Culligan equipment is not what it used to be and Culligan service is nothing like it used to be. It looks like I am going to have to replace this thing -- probably with a Fleck. All Culligan parts a proprietary so there is no way to buy parts for this thing and I could buy Fleck parts at lots of places. I have to re-plumb this thing so I might as well plumb in a water softener that works.

After additional hours trying to figure out WHY this simple filter does not work we set forth and took the damn thing apart. WOW! I also followed up a week later to find out if there was an answer to how this is possible. Culligan responded to the local dealer but not myself stating that it was not possible. This is a very good community with good people and good businesses. Everyone can make a mistake but this business by far takes the cake. I humbly suggest people in our community to avoid this business. There are many good water treatment places out there and this one is bad. First of all, a salesman named Harry told us stuff that was NOT true. Then this man asked us to pray for his grandkids and a huge custody fight. Obviously if it were not true how would we know about it? He then said he can remove the price for salt if we did that. And he didn't do that. Then we got a new house and instead of putting in the small faucet as they were too lazy to do, it's what we always had and always used and wanted, and instead we got this little black thing that when we push it, some infrared thing makes water come out. Ok, this little black thing rarely worked. Hardly ever.
Then some batteries leaked in it and when we told Peggy, this worthless person could not even help us and send someone out. We got totally ripped off and we are seeking legal action on this fly by night company and operators. We gave them several chances and Harry using his grandkids as ploys also has gotten DSS involved. That is sick. And asking for prayers in return to get no charge on salt. Again sick. And a lie. What he said about the Catholic church was not good and Bishop is being contacted and Culligan corp offices are as well. Don't make the same mistake we did and go to this fly by night company. We were told they would come out once a year and replace all filters and do a basic check on the system. This NEVER happened. We began having leaking issues and loud beeping issues. Their response was to make an appointment 9-10 days later. This is not acceptable. We had no refrigerator water and no ice. We were able to get that annoying beeping to stop by turning the system off. This is not what we consider customer service. We were able to find a replacement company, however, if anyone damaged the equipment in any way, we would be responsible for the equipment. We paid about 44 per month for the rental of this product.
Just as a note of interest, at that price someone would have paid the purchase off within 10 months, based on quotes from several other companies for the same product. Ironically, they got their 9-10 days to respond to us anyway because they scheduled the person removing the unit the same amount of time out. Once the unit was in, the helpfulness of the office staff with this issue was completely unsatisfactory. I am not looking for anything back from this review. I just felt I could at least make others aware of this company's record with us. Buyer Beware. PS. We originally used them because of their well-known name... not a mistake we will make again. Their name means little when it comes to customer service.

My issues were addressed and resolved personally by the president of the Culligan, Canada. Thank you.

Stay away from Culligan, Calgary. I wish I could give Culligan less than one star. They not even listed on BBB website. Recently we had a horrible experience with Culligan water softener, Calgary, Alberta. Sales representative was very pushy. We decided to rent Culligan water softener to try it for a few months before purchasing. At the second try, the softener that was installed which was not even a Culligan water softener after they made a mess for the first time. Within about 60 days we discovered that the water softener was broken and it was draining water like crazy and I made three service calls to Culligan and no one returned my call.
We bypassed the water softener to avoid water waste. But the damage was already done and we ended up with about $1,300 water bills for about 60+ days. Our water usage is typically about $70 per month. Culligan refused to accept any responsibility for this incident and refused to reimburse me the damage they have caused. They would not even split the water bills with me.

Call Culligan to have my water tested and system looked at as we recently purchased our home with system already installed. He was here a total of 20 minutes with most of that time trying to figure out where my water lines ran to. Showed me I had Iron in my water and then went on to tell me my system was not working at all. He turned off the water bypass to the softener and said I should make an appointment to have a new one quoted. Which I set up. Then call another company for a second opinion. Right after shutting off the water to the bypass I notice a stronger smell and my water became very hard, telling me my system was indeed working.
The 2nd company came in and spent over an hour here explaining my system and say I had a bad piston on the softener and should have it rebuilt and replaced which I am going to do. He explained Culligan's tactics, do not work on other units, only replace. I called Culligan and cancelled my appointment and told them what happened and all they could say is bad service call and they would talk to the manager, and I paid $40.00 for this experience. Stay away from this company, they are bad news!!!

I always had a small water softener that I bought from Home Depot for around $450. It worked for 8 to 9 years and I replaced it. This time I decided to get a better unit and bought a Culligan. It broke down after 2 years costing me over $200 to fix it. Again after 2 years of last repair it broke down and I am waiting for Culligan repair man to come in, charge me $150.85 to show up, plus parts. In 4 years I paid the same $$$ that I could have bought the Home Depot unit and it would last good 8 years not counting the original purchase price of the Culligan water softener. I strongly recommend AGAINST Culligan based on my personal experience.

We signed a contract with this company and regret the contract from day one. Poor service, unable to get out of contract unless you pay the complete rental for x amount of years depending on your contract and they will not return phone calls in a timely manner. Very unhappy!

We purchased a brand new Culligan Water Softener a year ago while in the midst of a total renovation in which we replaced all the mechanicals in our condo. The area we live in is serviced by a Township water system with horrible water. When Culligan came out to look at the old unit we had hoped to install a pre-filter unit to remove the iron etc. and were advised that our unit was beyond updating. We agreed due to the fact that it was 20 years old and purchased a new combination unit that was supposed to use less salt, had a pre-filter and would solve our water conditions. After completing our renovation which included every fixture in all the bathrooms, kitchen and laundry room we now have orange (iron) seeping through which is very disappointing to say the least. To have spent $3500.00 and still have a problem that could potentially damage our investment we would suggest NOT buying a unit from Culligan!

I closed on my home in September of 2015 and I am a single parent which Stacey was well aware of and I informed her that I am not interested in purchasing the water softener until I get settled etc... She persuaded me in believing that it would save on my water bill etc and 12 months same as cash if I pay it off in yr. LIE LIES LIES. The machine is a faulty horrible malfunctioning piece of equipment. She never returned my calls but was Johnny on the spot until I signed my life away. Read the fine print. Stacey is very manipulative and does not honor her word. She told me she would have her manager call me he/she never did. It has been a real nightmare and she has no integrity. They charge you $280 if you want them to remove their faulty equipment. This company is horrible and harp on innocent people.
I wouldn't recommend them if you have hard water. You are better off going to Lowe's Home Depot etc. Do not spend money on this machine. It is over priced and she nor does the company care once you have signed your life away. They are crooks and I wish I would have listened to my colleagues and ex and not fell for Stacey ** lies how this machine is such a great idea when it has done nothing but cause me so many problems. Do not purchase out of Indiana anyway is the best warning I can tell anyone.

I called Culligan to ask about an error message showing on my water softener. I was told there were no technicians available to talk to and it would be two days before they could call me back. I decided to Google it and see if I could figure out what it was. Since it might be motor, I called back to schedule a service call. They could not get me on the schedule for 12 days because they are busy installing new units. They offered me an after hours appt. for $150! Looks like their only concern is selling them and not servicing them.

I recently moved in to a home with a Culligan system. I have tried repeatedly to have a technician service my equipment on a Saturday or weekend. And believe it or not, they don't work weekends. I will need to take a day off of work to pay them to service their own equipment. In a 24/7 world this is unconscionable. You can schedule open heart surgery on a Saturday, have a hip replaced on a Sunday or fly across the global over a weekend yet a water technician will not work on a Saturday. Shame on you guys!

4 weeks ago my reverse osmosis drinking system stopped working. There was no water pressure coming out of the spout. I called for a service appointment and scheduled one 2 weeks later. This was their first appointment available. The technician showed up and said there was a problem that needed an air pump to fix. He didn't have an air pump in his truck and I would need to reschedule a second appointment. I rescheduled for a week later.
A different technician came and said the tank needed to be replaced and he didn't have one in his truck. He took payment of $112 and left. I called that same day and everyday for 3 days wanting to talk with the manager. I have yet to talk with the manager Brian. When I call he is either in a meeting or not in the building. I am now without drinking water for 4 weeks. I have an infant that cannot drink tap water. I am losing my patience. I am tired of hearing "he will call you back." I have not received any calls back. I continue to call and leave messages. The system is only 6 years old, why would I need a new tank already??

Beyond disappointed in this company. We have been paying for a water filtration system for over 3 years - moved and wanted to take the system with us. We were told installation would be around $150. I made an appointment for the install and my husband took a day off of work to be present for the installation. The day of - they didn't have us on the calendar so my husband missed work for nothing. Then they rescheduled and he had to take another half day to meet them. It took them 8 hours to do the install.
In the meantime they ruined our stucco on our house and did a terrible job repairing it. Never did they tell us what the cost would be... thinking maybe because they have inconvenienced us they would help us out with the install charge (since we already paid for them to remove it from the other house). Then we received a $500 bill in the mail. Never were we notified of a per hour charge. Not even on the paperwork they left behind for us regarding the install was a per hour charge listed. We paid over $4000 for this system and cannot believe they finally are "settling" with us and knocking the bill down $100 to a $400 bill. This company is doing bad business. Will never recommend you!

I had Culligan install a water treatment system about a year and a half ago. What they will not tell you is their harsh chlorine system they install will destroy your well. I just replaced the well pump and wiring on a pump that was 8 years old. Nearly $6K to replace. Luckily I used Michael and Sons to replace the pump who did an excellent job. I approached Culligan at a corporate level and was completely blown off. All they would do, was give me the local Culligan number who sold me this garbage to begin with. I have contacted the local Culligan idiots on 3 separate occasions. The only person who I can talk to is the clerk who answers the phone and all I get from her, is "someone will call you back." Please do not make the same mistake I have in spending $2K for a system that will destroy your well. In the end Culligan could care less.
