Just got insulted by the local Culligan man. Over 4 years ago my water smelled. I called him because my water smelled. He tested the water and said I needed a new water softener to fix the problem. It didn’t fix the problem. He said I needed a new water heater. I got one. It didn't work. Now he says the water needs a part. When I asked him questions he insulted me saying he wouldn’t waste time on a customer he didn’t make a lot of money from and left.

Not even a one because March will be a year and it still looks like this. This is awful from a recommendation like Culligan. My friend has apologized over and over but it just is not his fault. He thought he was helping. No bath in here. Have to go rent a hotel room just to get a good bath. I will make sure they are not cared for by Culligan. Why did I ever use them. Already spent almost a thousand on baths. So ridiculous. I live on oakenshaw if you want to see it up close. I'm not lying.

Culligan installed a water system in my home around 2020, and ever since then the customer service at the West Palm Beach location has been terrible. The reps are consistently rude and dismissive, and it feels like they genuinely do not care about their customers. I've been told more than once to "just uninstall the unit" instead of anyone trying to help resolve the issue. On top of that, the pricing has been all over the place. I've been given one quote and then later told a much higher amount for the same service. It's very misleading and has made it hard to trust anything they say.
Stay away from this. Best option is to purchase a water softening system from and install it Yourself.

I recently had to install a water softener system for my well water. I always had City water and never had a well before I purchased this house. I interviewed other companies about what I needed to have installed for my water system. They were very expensive. You can imagine my surprise when Dan ** (Vietnam Vet) did a free water test and he said you don't need this thing or that thing for my system. He sold me a basic system which was all I needed and really wanted. He told me If I desired anything more at any point it could be added. Then I met Doug ** who installed the system. Even though I tried to make his job easier for him to set up, he insisted on the best set up that fit the area of the installation rather than what was easier for him. I have been impressed by all the people from Culligan Water of North Central Ohio and I highly recommend them for any water needs you might need.

Today the install tech came and worked for hours setting up my water treatment install. The young man who did the install did a very professional job. He made sure all piping was straight and, supported. He took time to explain what he was doing and how each component worked with the others. He answered all my question, and gave me his cell number if I had any question in the future. David the salesman (who came out and tested my well water) showed me just how hard my water was and how much iron I had in the water. His scientific testing only proved what my cartridge filters were lacking. This system does it all...clean, clear, soft water. I recommend Culligan Water System to any one with your own well water.

Terrible customer service in Cincinnati, OH. Have had residential water delivery service for years. I have 4 bottles at a time at most. This week I left 2 empty bottles and they delivered 7!!! I do not want to carry all those into my house and have to store that many bottles. I called immediately after the delivery and was sent to voicemail. I also emailed about the issue. I finally had to call back and explain the problem. They did not apologize and said they didn't know what happened. I asked them to come pick up the extras and they said they couldn't because they are considered a food item. When I explained that they were still sealed and in the same place they left them, they said they would see what they could do and let me know.
2 days went by. I called back and was on hold for 15 minutes and then sent to voicemail. I called back again and was told that they could come pick them up in 2 weeks (making it 3 weeks total). Again, no apology, no explanation, no assurance that it would not happen again, no reason why they did not follow back up with me to let me know the resolution. Very seriously considering cancelling the service. I understand that mistakes happen...just take accountability and make it right. Horrible customer service.

Never realizing there is a two year contract. They want you to pay all of the monies in order to cancel. Ugh!!!! I never would have thought they would put a two year.

We have been a Culligan customer for 8 years. The first two years the water was amazing, very soft very silky. I didn't have to use conditioner in the shower, and no more softener in my clothes. Something happened after the first two years because we started itching again after our showers and started to need to use conditioner, softeners and lotions again. We called them out and they tested the tanks. They tried to upsell us on an add on tank that I didn’t want to pay the extra money on, why should I if the tanks were working for the first two years. Our delivery guy was very friendly and told us they have tanks that they rinse twice and he would make a note of it and start bringing those tanks. (They switch out our tanks every month) that worked for about three months and then it stopped working as well. I don’t know if he quit bringing the double rinse tanks or if that is something that even exists.
Long story short for $70 a month and for 8 long years as a customer we finally decided to cut ties with Culligan. We did ask them if we could switch to the salt tanks to see if that worked but unfortunately in our city they are not allowed. We have recently contacted a competitor and they did offer the salt tanks and for a cheaper price. We have an appointment next week and we bought all the piping from Culligan so we already have that, it will be a simple switch.

It took them an entire month to deliver salt that was promised within 5–7 business days. Nobody seems willing to help in any capacity. Very disappointing experience.

In July 2025, I entered into a contract with Culligan of West Palm Beach for the purchase and installation of a water softener, central water filter, and reverse osmosis system for a total of $10,932. I chose Culligan despite a higher price specifically because of the assurance of a professional and aesthetically proper installation. On August 4, 2025, only the outdoor units were installed. Nevertheless, Culligan immediately charged my credit card for the full contract price. The installation was in direct violation of the agreed terms and of the representations made by their sales representative:
- Piping was installed visibly and in a crooked, unprofessional manner, with cheap valves and above-ground drain line.
- My gutter downspout was damaged by a drilled hole.
- The artificial turf was ripped out and left detached, piled on top of other turf, blocking access.
- Dirt, contaminated sand, and construction debris were left throughout my courtyard and pool deck.
I immediately notified their sales representative with photographs. He acknowledged the installation was unacceptable and promised to inform management. The next day the service manager assured me that another technician would redo the work and that a refund for the undelivered RO system would be processed. None of this occurred. After more than ten days with my courtyard in disarray, I was forced to hire a licensed professionals to remediate the damage and complete the installation properly.
Culligan Palm Beach management completely ignores my phone calls and my demand letter for reimbursement of my expenses to rectify the situation. I am now forced to involve the Better Business Bureau and file suit against the company. What a nightmare. The worst technician and non existing customer service. Take your business somewhere else.

We had our whole house water softener installed by this company on 10/23, and it came with a 1-year free platinum care program, which included coming out and adding salt to the system quarterly and also making sure the system is running like it's supposed to. After the year, we didn't renew the platinum care program, and when the worker came out in July 2024 to add salt to our system, he purposely placed our system in bypass. We are from up north and never had to use a water softener, so we didn't realize that the system wasn't working properly for almost 10 months.
When we finally got around to having another company come out and check the system over (8/29), they immediately saw that the system had been placed in bypass. Now, understand, this isn't the case where someone could have accidentally hit a switch and put the system in bypass. No, you have to turn this blue knob like 15 times to shut off the water flow into the water softener. The guy from the other company said that "this was a purposeful act".
I called Culligan later that day and explained to the manager our situation. He claimed to be surprised that the worker who last came out and messed with our system would have done anything like that. He took my information and said he would be looking into this and would give me a call back. 11 days later, nothing. My purpose for calling them was to make them aware that this had happened, so it doesn't happen to anyone else. But this seems to be the way these workers are trained because he had no reason whatsoever to mess with the valve that controlled the water coming into the water softener. SO PLEASE BE AWARE IF YOU USE CULLIGAN OF TAMPA, OFFICE OUT OF PLANT CITY.

In southern AZ, hard water is a legit issue. Plumbing & water heaters go through hell because of it & this is where Culligan comes in. Their water softening systems are top notch & you'll notice a remarkable improvement in you laundry, showers & overall plumbing health. I use the tank system where every month, a serviceman comes & exchanges the tank. They rerouted my water line to an inconspicuous place & it was all part of the cost of the system. The monthly rate is VERY affordable & considering the cost of a new water heater than the hard water here will destroy in quick order, you're saving a lot of money in the long run. I'll never go on without them.

I chose Culligan Water from a long list of whole-house water filtration providers mainly because they had the most references. I scheduled an initial visit to see what they had to offer. The sales representative, Zachary **, was very attentive the whole time and explained everything in detail. We selected a system that seemed to be quite good—“smart technology”—although the price was more than double what we had seen from Culligan’s own promotions (almost $8,000) and far higher than other companies. Still, we decided to proceed with financing since by that point we were convinced it was the best option.
The problems began when we applied for financing. The application was first submitted under my mother’s name (she and I are both homeowners, and her credit score is around or above 700). Shortly after, the salesperson told me we needed a co-applicant. Then he said that the loan department required all names on the mortgage to also be on the application, which struck me as odd, but I still submitted a third application this time including myself.
Soon after, I received a “good news” message: we had been approved. But instead of the initial offer of $101/month with no down payment, the new terms were $214/month plus $1,000 down payment. It is unbelievable that a company selling products at such a high price—far above the market average—also has financing policies this strict and unclear. It felt more like financing a $30,000 car than buying a water filter, which is ridiculous.

I had a water softener installed that flooded my entire system with minerals – plugged all of my toilets and both of my showers. One month later, I am still stuck with half a working shower (1/2 water pressure). The worker came back over and fixed two of the toilets. I never heard anything from management about the situation – I had to call every day for several days and finally had to yell at a secretary (which I felt terrible for) to even get a call back. They offered $700 back on a $2600 bill. Ok, that’s a start.
The worker came back and made an attempt to fix my shower, it was unsuccessful. He said he would be back on Monday. Fast forward to 8 days later, he never came back. I called the manager who said “We’ve done all we can”. Mind you, I still only have half of a working shower. None of this would have happened had I not called this company. I tried fixing the shower myself and was unsuccessful – the pressure balancing unit is STUCK in the shower, and I cut my hand bad enough to need stitches.
I called the manager back and had to yell and swear at him (extremely out of character for me) and demand that he pay for a plumber. He finally agreed (as long as it’s not “too much money”.) I just want my shower working again. This has been by far the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered in my life. They were completely uninterested in rectifying the situation had I not kept calling. Now, a month and a half later, after the plumber fixed the showers, I am still waiting for my $700 refund that they agreed to. I received a couple follow-up texts saying it was in process. After this entire ordeal, I am still paying them around $1200, plus the $250 I needed for an emergency plumber that I forgot to mention that I had to call on the day that everything stopped working because my water heater's pressure release valve was gushing water, which they did not take the blame for.

We decided to get the Culligan system about two years ago. Our sales guy was Frank. He is very good at selling because we definitely got fooled. He said we can monitor through WiFi, not true. WiFi never works even when spending extra on WiFi. He said all we need is a blank filter for fridge so we did not have to spend money on filters. NOT TRUE. We still have to spend extra on filters.
We paid close to $8,000. We had to call in for issues with an equipment that’s just two years old several times. Black stuff comes out of faucets when LYING FRANK said you will never have that problem again. Equipment failed and since WiFi does not work we didn’t realize there was a leak and received a bill of over $1,000.00. So is the water worth the aggravations. No. We did not have to pay because we did not have recent incident with leaks. Had we had a recent leak we would have had to pay that bill. If I had to do it all over again wouldn’t have purchased. What a ripoff. We had a service tech come out to service our neutralizer tank. The tech came out and after inspecting the tank informed us that the tank needed to be drained, cleaned, and refilled with pea gravel along with calcite. The tech told me he would have to come back since he did't have the pea gravel on his truck. When I asked how much to drain and refill the tank, he said that the time he was here would lower the cost less due to coming back. When I asked again for a ball park cost, he avoided answering. I asked if it would be about $400.00 total and he answered yes.
We received an email today and found out that the combined visits costing us $900.00. What a ripoff for 3 bags of calcite, 1/2 bag of gravel, and 1 additional hour to drain and refill tank. We were clearly misled when we agreed to have the work done. We will not use your company again for any work on our system and when asked by others about your service, I will tell them, "Caveat Emptor", let the buyer beware. With the labor totaling $320.00, how can you justify charging us $539.00 for 150 lbs of calcite and 25 lbs of gravel? By law you are supposed to give an estimate of work for anything over $500.00.

He was outstanding, had the best personality and down to earth kind of guy. He knew everything and answered all our questions. Our install went perfectly and Jason the tech was also outstanding. He knew his stuff and did the best job. Taking our first shower was amazing. My skin was so soft and not to have the hard water stains is just PERFECTION. This Culligan office has it going on. I have had an outstanding experience with Culligan of Waukesha. The sales person I dealt with didn't pressure me at all, and answered all of my questions. I had been considering installing and maintaining my own system, but after hearing what he had to say, I changed my mind and went with Culligan. Long-term, it would be marginally cheaper to install my own system, but the break-even point was five years out, and the time and hassle of installing it myself was far outweighed by the convenience of the service Culligan offers. Speaking of their amazing service, about 3 months after my system was installed, my faucet leaked (not Culligan's fault or problem) and it triggered the shut off valve on the Culligan system. Even though it wasn't their problem, they had a service person there to fix the valve within 24 hours, and I wasn't charged for the service call.
I am handy, so I asked if the tech could show me how to fix the problem myself if it was to happen again. He graciously showed me how to fix it, and left some additional parts needed for the repair, again at no charge to me. Perhaps the most ringing endorsement I can provide is that I referred my mom to them, and she now has a Culligan system in her house too!

We got Culligan water softener installed about a year and a half ago. Dry skin and hair falling still persists. There are 4 women in the house and all of us experience the same problem. Their after sales service is horrible. Absolutely disappointed. No one showed up to put salt in the softener for one year after they delivered 8 bags of salt outside our house. After calling and complaining they sent a person once. Called them in February to deliver and put salt and no one has shown up yet. They make excuses like their truck broke down and they service our area only on Mondays etc. I would not recommend Culligan water softener mainly because of their after sales service which does not exist.

Culligan buyer beware. We received: Billing/invoices that were inconsistent and higher than our written quote from Triangle Water Durham, NC, fees/charges on our credit card after Triangle Water was expressly told in writing to remove the card for this reason, miscellaneous charges that as yet, after numerous written requests have yet to be itemized or explained, delivered water that was in Primo brand containers, water that was in extremely old, beaten up containers that leaked and some that had different (even unpleasant) tastes. A whole lot of hassle, headaches, evasiveness, attempted bullying (consistent with other reviews) from the owner, Jason.
Culligan buyer beware. We DID NOT receive: Anything back in writing other than charges that far exceeded our written quote for cooler rental of $3/month. Billing adjustments, anything to cite the quality control measures Triangle Water and/or Culligan can demonstrate for water your whole family is to consume as a staple of life. Billing that was consistent with written and binding quotes, explanations for charges, any written response to repeated information requests. Neither a decent experience with this business nor peace of mind on what we were to be consuming. Further, Triangle Water/Culligan IS NOT affiliated with the Better Business Bureau - where there are numerous outstanding complaints filed by other customers. Why would a business not affiliate with the BBB?
Before even considering any form of a relationship with Culligan, ask yourself this..."Have I asked for and examined all terms of the corporate residential agreement where this company attempts to absolve themselves of everything from damage to home, electronics, and property (even self) all with no warranties on the product or service...yet they insist on having a credit card with automatic payments scheduled with clauses for late fees, early termination fees and a "kangaroo court" arbitration process at their disposal?"
Does that sound worth it or reassuring? There are many, many, public reviews and unresolved disputes/claims citing damage to property, quality control concerns, and certainly, unresolved billing matters. Where is Culligan and Triangle Water when something goes wrong? For many people it does. How do you know you will not be one of them? From our experience, they are going bill you other than quoted, refuse to take your card off file, become evasive and not write you back to repeated requests, do nothing to demonstrate the water they provide has quality control measures for safety or drinkability, provide misinformation, attempt to threaten and bully you.

I got a Culligan water softener two years ago. After three months, it started not working well. My hair was getting dry and breaking off. I called them out to inspect the water. They said the water is fine. It must be my hair. So my hair kept breaking, I stayed at my boyfriend‘s house and used his shower for six months. Finally I googled what could be wrong. It said to clean the filter. So I called them and asked them to come clean the filter. They came and cleaned it. Everything was solved. Sad that I had to figure that out. Again three months later or four months later the water sting started getting bad again. My hair started breaking. I asked them to come out and clean the filter. So they did.
Once again, four months later, it started breaking my hair again. When I called them to come out and clean it, they started charging me $50 each time. I asked them if they could replace the water filter maybe there was a problem. They kept saying it was my hair, even though when I was with my daughter for a week at a time once a month and stayed with my boyfriend my hair was fine. But they still said it was my hair. I asked to cancel my two year agreement after half of my hair breaking. And now having to get Extensions. They refused to cancel it.

6 days ago I was a good customer for over 11 years!!! Change bank accounts and called them. Whoever answered the phone told me that I had paid for the equipment in full and that I didn’t need to update my account. 90 days later, I was getting nasty phone calls from some lady who basically told me they no longer want to do business with me. They had added on all these fees. It’s way more money than it was.
I was having a hard time so I needed to come up with the funds last week offered to pay in full. The account manager told me they did not want my money and they would not do business with me any longer as I am “**”. This was their fault to begin with. 11 years I paid for the equipment, now my lawyer is telling me the equipment is worth more money than The monthly payments that I was paying.
A water softener used to be about $400 now they want $1200 for the water softener. I have never been treated poorly for over 11 years. The Manager would not come to the phone to speak with me. Asked to speak to the owner and never had a callback. Dealing with a Consumer proposal lawyer at the moment and I have now listed them and they are denying it because they are saying they want the money for the equipment the $1200 that I paid for over 11 years.
I am going to be taking this to court. Just the principal alone!! When they put the equipment in my house as a rental water softener, it was yellow and discolored. It was very old and I called at the time and they told me that was the only thing they had in stock so at this point it’s now over 20 years old. I was very patient to have this old equipment in my house and I did pay for it for over 11 years so for them to demand $1200 at the end is just criminal. Also my lawyer told me that you cannot put a lien on someone’s house in Ontario for any type of equipment!!
I will be making sure everyone I know is aware of how this company treats people the amount of sleepless nights that I’ve been given over a stupid water softener is ridiculous and the lack of customer service also frankly they scam people all equipment paid for over 11 years and now you want 1200 more dollars and you’ve told me you don’t want me as a customer. It is absolutely deplorable. I wouldn’t recommend doing business with these people.

Purchased a home that had a brand new Culligan water filtration system. Seller told us he spent close to $9000 out the door. It’s been nothing but problems, and after the first year (under warranty) every time a tech comes out it’s $180. Be prepared to become a water filtration expert and be able to perform regular maintenance or pay Culligan to come out every 3-4 months to do maintenance. We have a Chemfeed attached to ours as well (Culligan installed) and there is only certain techs that can work on it. When we have an issue, which is about every 3 months, we have to wait a week or more to get a tech here. Our water stinks the whole time, it’s hard because the softener isn’t working either. At one point we were without clean water for almost 3 months because they kept sending techs out who “solved” the problem but they didn’t and the problems persisted.
Finally, the most experienced tech they had came out, figured out another tech and put one of the pieces back together incorrectly and it was now broken. He couldn’t replace the $20 part, we had to buy a whole new kit at $480. The system was stuck regenerating so it burned out our water pump, so we spent $1800 more replacing the water pump and the pressure tank. A $20 part costed us $2300. I could go on and on. Moral of the story, their product is terrible, breaks down frequently (I’m starting to think it’s intentional so they can keep milking us for money every 3 months) and you’ll only have clean water about 60-70% of the time. Bar none it’s the worst experience I’ve had with any company in 40 years. Do yourself a favor and buy anything except for a Culligan water treatment system.

We have been Culligan customers for 15+ years. Up until the last year, we have very few issues. The past 6 months, I have had MULTIPLE billing issues - the person in Customer Service speaks poor English (strong accent) and has an attitude to go with it. When you call to schedule an appt for service or complain about a billing issue - she claims it is all set but yet the problem keeps happening. I called again last week for a $7.50 'service fee' that I was billed for. They sent out an email 2 weeks ago with a bill for just the service fee - the next day, they sent another email saying 'disregard the email yesterday', they have been having ongoing problems with the new software they use for billing. 2 days later, got the same bill AGAIN - then they took it out of my bank account. I called and got this woman I deal with frequently - I asked to speak with a supervisor. She said she could 'help me'.
I asked her why I can't speak with a supervisor. She refused and said she would help me. Then when I asked her why I am being charged she said she didn't know. I asked AGAIN for a supervisor. We argued for 5 more minutes - she indicated she I was being credited and said the supervisor was 'not in her office' and she would have her call me back. Shockingly, NO ONE EVER CALLED. This is the 3rd time I have called 'Customer Service' demanding to speak with a supervisor and I am not allowed to speak to one and when promised a call back no one ever does. Was supposed to get a salt delivery in August - they called the day of delivery cancelling the delivery and someone will call to reschedule. She didn't know when they would even CALL to reschedule. Culligan came out for a service call due to nonfunctioning RO and main tank wasn't regenerating.
System had run out of salt. RO was replaced after 2 other service calls (and I asked several times for it to be replaced - it was 15 years old!!). Had to call again and asked WHERE IS THE SALT I PREPAY FOR. Scheduled salt delivery for the following week, but we still had to go to Home Depot and buy salt (we pay monthly for salt delivery and system maintenance). No one showed up on the day it was to be delivered. They finally delivered some salt a month late. I asked the Delivery Guy to have his supervisor call me and explain why our deliveries keep getting cancelled or they no show. He said they don't really have a supervisor. I can not say enough bad things about this company, and how unprofessional and frustrating their customer service is. And from what I am reading from many other reviews, their billing practices are corrupt at best.

The brand Culligan Water is widely known and I would say favorable until you actually deal with the franchise. We bought a house with a RO system and Water Softener installed and maintained by Culligan. The folks we bought the house from suggested we reach out to the local dealer in Dayton, OH. Which I did. Unbeknownst to us is that they have split the division between service (the mechanical ends like the RO filters and the Water Softener equipment) and salt delivery. When I first spoke to them (I actually spoke to them) to get the lowdown before we took possession of the house when I called back I left 2 voicemails and even sent 2 emails and never heard back. I figured that did not want my business.
When I went to buy filters for the RO system I found out that you can only buy their brand for replacement, so not wanting to deal with the Dayton/Farborn, Ohio office I reached out to Culligan Corporate and finally talk to a gentleman named Scott. I did not want to deal with the Dayton/Fairborn office so I ask for another dealer. I found out you must deal with the Franchise in your geographic area. Scott never called me back like he promised and I wound up receiving a call from from the Dayton/Fairborn store.
Remember this home was under care previously by Culligan, it took 59 minutes to set up an account and schedule salt delivery with one office and service from another office. What a cluster mess, it is a wonder how this company survives and their efficiency must be horrible. At the end I asked for the cost of the service call and filter costs which they could not tell me. In the end it was all arranged but it was a horrible experience with this franchise owner. When the units finally wear out I will probably go another route, but for now will stick with this unless it becomes unbearable.

We installed the water filtration system for the entire house and a reverse osmosis spout in the kitchen over a month ago. We are very pleased. We live in Dallas, Texas, where the water does not taste good and it has a high mineral content. Dalton E. came and tested the water, gave us a demo of the filtration system, and answered all our questions.
My husband had done some research and thought Culligan was the top quality. Our experience confirmed it. The taste of the water is lovely (guests commented on how good our water is), clothes and fabrics are so soft without softener, and our skin and hair is noticeably softer too. The installers worked with us to find the best spot for the installation. After a week the reverse osmosis spout did not have enough output. We called customer service and the technician came out immediately (twice) until the system started working to our satisfaction. We are so glad we installed it, it makes a significant difference in our quality of life. Highly recommended!

I hated everything about having someone from Culligan come into my house. They did the whole water sample science experiment to scare you into how bad your water is for you. They give you your options, prices & push paperwork to take all your info credit card etc. I was uncomfortable & wanted to think on it. They kept pushing getting my info so it was “on file” in case I change my mind. Not to mention they push the newer filters which range from 8-10k and casually want me to give my credit info for credit checks. My salesperson called their boss offering deals etc. The whole thing was not ideal and I did not think this was what I’d be getting when having someone come In.
I ended up being so uncomfortable that I gave her my info and ended up calling once she left my house telling them to immediately discard it. (I’m also someone who doesn’t do well with confrontation.) Personally if they just kept it simple, told me my options and gave me simple info on my water I maybe would have considered but the sales pitch and push made me upset.

He gave me his cell number to call him if the replacement was faulty for any reason, so that he could return to replace it (otherwise I would have to have waited another month for it to be replaced) -- another time when I was having trouble lifting the bottles, the customer service representative put a note in the file to ensure that I only received bottles with handles -- this helped me immensely. The initial sales and installation process went well, but the service afterward was very disappointing. When our system stopped working, it became extremely difficult to get any assistance from the company. After four separate service calls, during which the system still wasn't fixed, we were promised a visit from a supervisor. He missed the first appointment without explanation, and when we rescheduled, he failed to show up again. Frustrated with a whole house water system that wasn't functioning and a company that seemed indifferent, we ultimately decided to remove the three-year-old system and replace it with one from another company. I have been with Culligan for years for my soft water system, at the start it was working smoothly (billing and services) until my local Culligan water started charging me for services that has not been rendered. I am part of their delivery services for salt and filter change program. Recently for this month the driver delivered salt and left the filter outside our house (which we don't know of and no text was sent prior to the delivery), he did not even ring the door bell when we are just inside the house. We don't know how to change filter and what does he expect us to do with that filter? I don't want my system to be malfunctioning when we are not trained to do that.
When I called the office that day for the service issue, they scheduled me for their tech to come by the end of the month. No charges was mentioned nor anything that could be considered a service call because it is not it was a failure on their end. Today Brenda called and left a VM stating that service will come tomorrow and that I will be charge for the service. I was getting confuse because why am I being charge for something that was a failure on Culligan’s end. We are part of the program and delivery so we won't be charge for additional charges for filter change installation but just for the filter itself.
When I called, I spoke to Jona whom can't answer my questions regarding the charges. I was transferred to Destiny whom she claimed as the coordinator for Fresno, Ca office. I tried to clarify charges with her and from the way she speaks and tone of her voice it seems that she needed to go to a customer service class on how to achieve customer service excellence but instead after all the charges that she can't explained she offered me right away to be taken off their program for delivery and services.
I don't know if this is how Culligan Water wants to be represented with this type of attitude handling customer calls or maybe they need to put their staff on a recorded call so they can monitor this type of behaviors. Culligan water will slowly lose their customers if it's handled this way. Also during this conversation it seems that Culligan water is trying to rip off money from their customers with hidden charges and poor services. I hope that corporate will try to check their local office in Fresno so they won't lose any loyal customers like me. If I can give a “0” star on them, I would.

We purchased a high efficiency water softener and reverse osmosis system in March of 2018 (6 years ago). RO "button" rusted 2 years ago and became unusable. Customer service informed me that the button is not replaceable and that the whole system would need to be replaced. This seemed absurd and so I called back another day hoping for a more informed person. Nope. Many calls to many jurisdictions gave the same answer. Button broken means $600 dollar fix, and even an example given of a woman who had dropped her button into a sink and then paid for the cost of entire replacement. After much digging I found that in fact the button is replaceable through Culligan at about $30.
Meanwhile the technical team is completely and intentionally unavailable by phone. Only with a callout fee is there access to system knowledge. Now our softener water flow meter has failed, and did so some time ago. The lack of salt use clued us in to the fact that the now ultra high efficiency device hasn't run for many months. The warranty expired at 5 years and we are at 6. So no more efficiency, just a two day cycle for us in a very hard water area no matter the water use. A very good sales pitch, and a very poor product.

We decided to go with Culligan based on my lab work when I knew the brand by its quality. We installed an over $10,000 system in our condo in Shrewsbury, MA where our daughter lives presently and where the water quality is famously miserable. Three months short of its 1-year anniversary, the filter system for the kitchen sink got completely clogged. Tech came and changed the 4 filters. 24 hours later there was still no drop of water.
I called them back. They came, apologized, and told my daughter the system was completely clogged, that they needed to remove it and that they will bring it back on Friday. That was Monday. Nobody called me for 3 days. I called to check on Wednesday and was promised they would call me. It is Friday today as I am writing this, 4:40 p.m. Still no calls or equipment. I called back only to find out the nice person answering the phone had no idea what was going on, the person in charge was out of the office and his boss, the office manager does not work on Fridays.
The one and only office in MA is in Winsor, CT where she was. They serve MA, CT, and RI. Not very well, clearly. Not sure if this is a New England issue with insufficient staff to cover the needs of the three states but a reputable brand such as Culligan should never run into such subpar service quality. I am absolutely stunned and will pursue this up to the top of the company, and all over the internet until they do something about it.

We worked with Karen who was extremely knowledgeable about EVERYTHING, not just about Culligan systems. She thoroughly explained everything she was seeing and thinking, and gave us recommendations on what the issue could be with our current system, and ideas on how it could be fixed. We ended our first visit with specific instructions on what to do next, and then set up a follow-up appointment for her to retest our water and asses everything to see what the next steps would be. Upon her return visit, she re-tested our water, and a sample that we had collected in between our first and second visits, and was able to determine that our current system is working fine, but had just gotten behind somewhere along the way, along with our water pressure tank not being aired to the proper PSI.
The previous company that I had out to check on our system, told me our water was unsafe to drink due to a foul smell and possible bacteria, and told me we need a whole new system. I was so scared to drink our water, or to let our children or guests drink our water so we started buying bottled water while we attempted to figure out how we would afford to replace our current system with a new, very expensive system of theirs. With Karen's expansive knowledge of groundwater, and all of the systems that are used to push water through our homes (not just a softener) we were able to determine that our 23+ year old system is still working fine, producing us with soft water. When it comes time to replace our system, or if a friend or family member is in need of water service, we would without hesitation refer them to Karen at Culligan Water of Ann Arbor. Thank you!

I got a card in the mail advertising a $19.95 Softener Inspection and Water Test. I forgot to give them the code when I scheduled someone to check my water softener, and paid $114 in advance of the visit. I kicked myself for forgetting to give the code for the $19.95 inspection, but that's life. The service call took about 20-30 minutes. Nick was efficient, adjusted the regeneration to be more often, and tested the water hardness. I have no complaints about the service itself.
However, I just got a bill in the mail for an additional $57.50. Apparently, the $114 for the service visit does not include Nick's time. They billed me at $114 per hour for 30 minutes, and also added a $2 fee for the print statement of the bill that they mailed me. All in all, this 30 minutes to slightly adjust my water softener cost $173.50, which seems way out of line both for what was done during the service call and compared to the rate and billing of services from other professionals, such as plumbers. However, the main criticism I have here is that this additional cost for "parts and labor" was not made very clear when I was scheduling this service- it was certainly not clear that $114 was never going to be the total amount for the visit. I am very disappointed in this practice.

There was a delay with our tank rental and a leak in the salt holder, but there was no reason to be upset over it. Things happen and they rectified it as soon as possible. I hope people don't get upset over these things. Thank you for the clean water and great service. I feel privileged and lucky to have afford and have access to clean water.

Culligan RO and water softener is an excellent product and I have had decent service in the past. However my RO system has stopped working and it seems I cannot get Culligan to send anyone over to repair it. I thought I was set for a repair technician on Monday August 7th, but nobody showed, so now I am forced to go to the store and buy bottled water, This has reduced Culligan from a 5 star company to a 3 star company in my book.

HE yanked and yanked and pulled. HE never released the pressure therefor it could not be loosened, he should have known that. He yanked so hard the he broke the plumbing to the programming unit on top and we had spouting water flooding my basement and walls !! He didn't even know how to shut the water off!!! Then he found a over shut the water off ,said ill report this to office and have a follow up repair!!! He had shut the water off to my entire home !! I haven’t been sick in a very long time. For me tap water is the enemy…

UPDATE: I spoke to a manager at Culligan and they are going to make it right by waiving the trip fee to come fix it. He also said that if you tell them you are only available in the morning or you are only available in the afternoon, they can accommodate that. The scheduling people I spoke to never offered that even after I explained how hard it is to take a whole day off. He said he would make sure they do in the future. I'm happy they got back to me quickly and are doing something to make it right.

Culligan made it really easy to get a quote and to get a water softener & RO installed. They were super responsive and willing to come out on weekends. Once the system was installed, the whole experience changed. They do not offer any service appointments on weekends or evenings. They will not give you any kind of time frame either. So you have to take an entire day off work to get service. The same is true for salt delivery. Who can take a full day off work to get salt delivered??? I spent a lot of money on a water softener and RO system. My water softener stopped working three months after it was installed. By the time I found a full day I could take off work, the warranty had expired. They're charging me over $200 just for the trip out and labor. Even cable companies give you a four-hour window. I thought they had the worst customer service. I wish I chose a different company.

THIS MESSAGE AS WARNING TO ANYONE BUYING FROM CULLIGAN. We purchased a water softener system from Culligan for $3779 installed. The salesman told us that we could pay by Mastercard as we would normally do. When we received our credit statement it turned out Culligan charged as cash so we end up paying the cash purchase fee of $59.75. Culligan didn’t want to pay the credit card service fee by passing it to the consumer. That would be okay if they disclosed at the beginning but choose to misleading their customers.

I hired them for home filtration system. I thoroughly explained and requested an experienced Plumber. They sent an associate with ZERO knowledge about installation, plumbing and service. Ruined my garage wall. He admitted he was not a plumber neither experienced. I overlook the situation then they promised to correct it and hire a professional plumber. I waited a month. The same guy showed up. He informed me they trained him to become a plumber. Again I overlooked it. I asked him to proceed after he caused additional damage to the wall He admitted he doesn’t know how to fix it and I must hire a professional plumber to fix the damage. Unprofessional. Unethical. I wouldn’t believe any of their reviews.

I have been with Culligan leasing their systems for more than 4 years. I have had no issues with the product or service, but I do have issue with the prices that Culligan corporate is now charging. My brother who lives in a different part of Florida than me has the same water softening system and leases it. He pays a little less than half of what I pay per month because his office is still franchise-owned. The office serving my area has been bought out by Culligan corporate and charges much higher prices. I am not happy about this. This sounds like greed to me. I just updated my system and will now be paying $30 more a month than what I was on my old system. Culligan corporate needs to do better.

Too expensive and old technology. They are behind the curve. There are a lot of new options on market 2X 3X more affordable and more effective than Culligan. Also, I bought a house with their existing system, that was under warranty. But Culligan is forcing us to buy a new system instead because we are not the original buyer. Doesn’t make sense. We installed another manufacturer. Do not recommend Culligan long term.
