    I am truly disappointed with this company and what they advertise on TV. The truth is that they have denied every claim but have charged me for each visit and not getting the problem resolved. I had to contract ANY HOUR AND HOME SERVICE to resolve the problem. The plumbing company they send out is the worst. Allstate Plumbing does the bare minimum and reports back to Home Warranty, which always ends up in a denial. I paid 3 years in advance and have now requested that my policy be cancelled and a refund issued.

    Beware of this warranty company. I submitted a claim for my HVAC system and the technician found that my heat exchanger was cracked. The company denied the claim stating that the HVAC system was running fine. The heat exchanger is part of the furnace; it is summertime and my family will not be running this system at this time. The first time the heating system turns on it will let carbon monoxide into the home that will cause harm or death to my family. This company does not care about the customer. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!!

    This company doesn’t cover every usage. It’s misleading. And when I called about the this I should have been told from the beginning it wasn't covered. Your appeal process doesn’t work for anything just the same comments. I’m 70 plus years old and there’s no way I know how to abuse a toilet. I’ll probably will be cancel my account.

    1st off takes way too long to get approval for any repair that needs to be done. Should not take 2.5 weeks for a replacement or repair of any appliance. 2nd send the correct repair person to do the job. Don't send a Handyman to repair an A/C unit, send a certified AC repairman. If you don't send the correct person the 1st time this causes more time and money for the job to be completed.

    I'll start with this is partly my fault because I took your sales agent at their word that if a appliance was too expensive to fix that it would be replaced but I should have ask or read the fine print what that meant. As for my experience you determined that the microwave was too expensive to fix and offered me a Lowe's gift card saying that I could bye anything I wanted but that was a bunk replacement cost was $549.00 without installation or delivery of which you offered me less than half that amount which I would be lucky to get a countertop microwave at that amount. How was this figure determined?

    Choice Home Warranty is a completely fraudulent company and, in my experience, one of the worst home warranty providers I have ever dealt with. Our AC unit failed during extremely hot and humid weather. When their technician came out, he claimed the problem must have existed before our coverage and asked us to provide documentation proving the unit was working beforehand. How is a homeowner supposed to provide that? It has now been almost three weeks without air conditioning, and Choice Home Warranty has taken no responsibility for resolving the issue. Their customer service has been unhelpful, and the entire process has been frustrating and disappointing. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

    Absolutely horrible service! It took Choice over a MONTH to get my microwave fixed. A MONTH! The technician they sent out was absolutely the worst! Grumpy and totally unprofessional. After telling him in DETAIL what my microwave was doing, he had to order the parts, did not have them available, and then he ordered the wrong ones!

    Upon his SECOND visit, he discovered this. Evidently there are only THREE parts to a microwave and he ordered the two that were not the problem! I eventually had to go out and purchase another microwave to get me by as neither Choice nor the company (Frigidaire) they hired could ever give me a firm date of when my microwave could be fixed. When I called Choice REPEATEDLY and asked to speak to a manager or supervisor, I was told that this was just a call center and they had no way for me to speak to a manager. On their website you also do not speak to a person but an AI chat bot that just keeps repeating the same phrases over and over.

    Choice has up to 48 hours (2 DAYS) to assign your claim to someone who can fix it. THEN you wait for that place to get you an appointment. In the case of my microwave it was FIVE days later ... THEN I found out that it needed parts that they did not have it stock. More waiting, then when the parts came, more waiting for another appointment for the install. Like I said, I was without a microwave for over a MONTH. What if it was my water heater? A month with no showers? Don't waste your money!

    I submitted a claim with Choice for a microwave repair, and it took three visits to finally get it fixed. And I thought that was a little much. Seemed like there was a lot of resistance to just replacing the microwave. The microwave was at least 11 years old, and it needed a motherboard, eventually.

    This guy came from the Charlotte area to do it. I talked to a supervisor there, and they refused to consider getting a new one. It eventually got fixed, but I just couldn't see the point of making this guy drive, and he got $100 for it. And he made three visits. He paid for gas and stuff, and his payment was the $100. So, I didn't like that very much.

    Then we had an oven thing that same guy came, and it was fine. It ended up working right before he got here. So, there wasn't much he could do, and it was just one of those things. Finally, we had a plumbing issue a few weeks ago. I called to make a claim. I wanna do a written one, and I ended up with a chatbot. And I wasn't really thrilled about that.

    But it seemed like what needed to get done got done. I just really wanted to talk to a real person, explain what was going on, so they have an understanding that we needed somebody pretty quick. But, they contacted a local plumbing company, and it turned out to be really good. The man who came out was excellent. He fixed it very quickly. I was very pleased with that. But they should have a little more openness about their process. I had a previous warranty company that we could see a lot more. We could actually investigate. Even if we weren't requesting a replacement, we could see what the process was. It was pretty transparent with us. It would be helpful to have some information on the process, just like that.

    The technician did his job as far as trying to ascertain the issue. At just under an hour he determined that dishwasher could not be "fixed". His solution was that dishwasher would have to be replaced. He would submit his report and that I would be contacted by Choice Home Warranty. Awaiting response.     The technician was great and very thorough about what was wrong with the unit. As for Choice home warranty they don't want to pay out like they say. I'm a Veteran of the United States Navy and Choice home warranty is a fraud if you ask me. The technician clearly told them that the unit had stop working because of a compressor that had went out about two days before the claim was made and a new one will be needed. They denied the claim and said it has to be working before the claim was put in. It was working before the claim was put in.

    They are just like any other insurance companies. Just think if you never have a car accident in your car do they every cut you a check for all the money you have paid them year after year. Just a scam when something goes wrong, you have to go through so much red tape to get your products fixed but they get their money month after month on time and then lie and claim they will fix it once it breaks down. I recommend the technician but choice home warranty don't buy it.

    The monthly/yearly price some great for your pocket. The companies for services not so great. For example, the technician didn’t tell the truth regarding my appliance.     We moved out of our house and got Choice Home Warranty with the intention of using it for renters. Sure enough, when the renters moved in, they identified an outlet that was not working, which I was not aware of. We called in a ticket, and within 24 hours, they had scheduled a visit and came out and fixed it. The scheduling process was super easy and seamless. I was expecting to get an email with some dates that were available for my service request. But instead, it said their technician would be out the next day between 8:00 and 11:00, which worked out for us because the tenant was home. Everything went very well. So far, so good. I just wonder if I could get some options as to when to schedule it in the future, in case my tenant's not available.

    When we called about our garbage disposal you paid, but the plumber had to force you to give us a disposal of equivalent value to what we had. You wanted a lessor, cheaper disposal!! When we called about the leaking pipes in our crawl space from the bathroom you wanted to pay $189 of a nearly $500 bill!!! You said everything after the service fee is covered and paid...I don't call that paid!!!!     Big headache. Our water heater went out. Not a problem since we have CHOICE Home Warranty, right? Tech came and discovered we need a new water heater. No problem. Then tech calls and says CHOICE won't approve fix until we agree to pay $500 to plumber out of our pocket for uncovered charges to replace the water heater. Water heater cost $675. Plumber (selected by CHOICE) had expenses of $577 for diagnostic and installation services. Nice disposal as they leave unit on curb. So, CHOICE had us pay $500 of the plumber's $577 charge. You do the math. CHOICE decided to it stick us for submitting a claim, thinking the $500 they save is more important than a dissatisfied customer.

    Submitted a claim requesting my kitchen faucet be replaced as it is loose, repair a shower head that broke to either repair or replaced. I told them up front the issues. Choice Home warranty claims scheduled the appointment with a plumber. Plumber tells them exactly what I previously reported but instead they denied the claim.

    I appealed and requested review of the denial and the person advised that those items were not covered under the warranty so I advise then why did they schedule an appointment with a plumber to begin with when I explained what the situation or the problems were exactly so why did I have to pay a deductible that just went down the drain for nothing. I asked to speak to someone higher up and the case manager said there with nobody higher than her. Yes, I am upset.     The last contractor assigned to us was kind and professional but that was a long time coming. In the past, we have experienced too many CHW assigned contractors that lacked communication skills and were no-shows to claims we had to both our properties in Benicia and Fairfield, CA. We have wasted too many time away from work to meet with no-show contractors. We also paid too many $65 service fee to contractors that spends less than one minute at our house to tell us they cannot assist us.

    I was with American Home Shield, but they got too expensive in terms of every time you call them out, which I hardly ever use. I mainly got Choice Home Warranty because of my air conditioner, which I run year-round. At some point in time, it tends to need repair. It’s also very hot. So, most of the time, that unit runs seven months out of the year. I know that there are times when it needs to have maintenance on it.

    The only issue I have with Choice is that when you sign up, and they tell you that you need an electrician, then is it one item? They tell you that as long as you need an electrician, the surcharge is 75. But I had an electrician come here and tell me that it's 75 for everything he looked at. Cause I had a light break in the attic, and he came for that. Then I had a ceiling fan, which I told them initially that there were two things, but he wanted to charge me 75 for each thing. That is where most problems come about.

    I also had a technician, and he didn't say anything. But the first time he came in, he was very friendly. The second time, that was when he wanted to dispute about the charges, that I should be charged 125, instead of 75. They need to have better communication with each other. They need to talk with the vendors that they’re dealing with and be clear about the charges. But the last service I got over the weekend was excellent. A guy even came out on a Sunday, which was very out of the ordinary.

    I was very disappointed when our refrigerator needed to be replaced. The allocated amount was just about half of what was required to buy something similar to what we had. There was a link to ask for a reevaluation. I did that, but honestly that was just a waste of time. The person just read from a script basically told me that this is because they do not meet retail costs, and that they have the right to offer cash in lieu of replacement in the amount of their actual costs. When I asked if they could purchase it for me since they could get it at that price, I was told they do not provide that service! When I further inquired where I could get it at that price, they DID NOT have a source, simply listed items from retailers by looking online as I had already done - which is how I knew the offered amount was nowhere near the cost of a replacement!

    I further asked how they determine an amount that would be their actual cost when they actually can’t find an item that equals that amount that they have access to. The person would only keep repeating the policy and directing to where I could find that in the contract. As soon as I said I felt this was a dishonest practice they said they have lawyers that check over their contracts. When I said it really seemed unethical to state. They could get something for a certain amount and not actually be able to get it for that but yet use that as the amount they were providing for replacement, she just wanted to rush off the call. When I inquired if there was anyone else I could speak to about this I was told she was the person. This honestly makes me insecure with having changed to this company this year.

    I have been a client of CHW for 4 years now (I purchased a 5 year contract). In my experience, almost 50% of the claims I have filed have been denied, often over a technicality. For example a leaking water pipe to an outside faucet, being deemed out side of the house when in fact it was actually in the concrete block foundation. Or most recently when my garage door opener wasn't working because of a frayed wire (20+ years old) that was deemed "not to be wear and tear).

    When I'm restricted to using your technicians, dealing with often unusually long waiting times for service - because your technicians have said that your reimbursements are so low that they will only take the home warranty business when they have no other available work. I've gone through the appeal process with Choice in the past. I've found it to generally not be worth it in terms of additional time, effort and results. I was lied to by Sierra, that waiting till May 21st was the best option because the repairman worked for Whirlpool and would have the parts. The repairman comes, he doesn't work for Whirlpool and he doesn't have the parts. He has to order them. He also stated he doesn't know if his repair work would fix the problem. I called Choice and advised them I would be willing to take the repair cost and move on. That I would just buy a new fridge and they wouldn't do that. I have now been without a fridge for 10 days with no end insight, as to when my issue will be resolved. I would not recommend using them.

    There's a lot of warranty companies out there, but they're not as responsive, and they don't cover as many things that Choice does. I am in my dad's home, and he handed it down to me five years ago. So, we're both on the plan. We had it for six years, and then I renewed this last year for another seven years, because they have been really good about covering things, and when I call to get service, we get it quickly.

    Everything I do is online. I also do my claim that way, and it's been easy. As soon as I put in the claim, I get a response quickly. I usually get something from Choice saying, “Your appointment is scheduled for this time, and this is their contact information.” When I contact the company, the information that Choice has provided to me has never been the same information that is provided by the company itself. That's the only complaint I have. Maybe Choice shouldn't be the one who says when the date and time is.

    I had a claim where I lost power in my living room and one of our bedrooms. The contractor came out, and it ended up just being a tripped breaker, but it was something that we didn't see, because we didn't know enough to look where he was looking. We looked at the breakers, but it didn't look tripped to us. He turned the breaker off then on, came back in and tested all the plugs, and everything was fine. All in all, Choice Home Warranty has quick response, good pricing, and all of the contractors that have come out have been excellent. I've had not one single problem. They are very easy to communicate with, and they get the job done. They're very prompt.

    I have a home and I know there are different things that may come up that are not covered by insurance. When I looked up home warranty providers online, Choice Home Warranty seemed to be a reputable one and had some good reviews at the time. I went with them and my experience has been fine, though I had some problems. If I have a leaking, issue, it would take two days. But it's gotten a little speedier as I reengaged with them. The coverage is pretty comprehensive though it could be a little bit more. The price has gone up as well. I was concerned about that because they didn't alert me before and I don't know how much it is now.

    One gentleman at Choice was trying to work with me. I thought I had canceled my subscription with them but I hadn't really officially canceled it. I just didn't pay. Unfortunately, I was being charged every month since I didn't pay. They thought I was still a member. When I told them I meant to cancel, the gentleman was telling me that he was working something out, so I wouldn't need to pay every month. Instead of the 100% payment, I’d pay two-thirds of some other amount. That was helpful. But when I tried to pay, I didn't get the same person. The first person didn't put it in the notes, that it was not supposed to be the full amount. That became contentious, unnecessarily. Other than those, I'd recommend Choice Home Warranty to a friend. I've had a really good experience with the contractors. They've addressed my needs and the works they've done have been very much beneficial.

    Have Central AC for years. Suddenly stopped working in late April. File a claim and service contractor by Choice Home warranty check and state freon leak out by a port. The home warranty company deny the claim saying it does not cover the Valve. Even though the policy said age is not a factor. If broken we repair or replace it. They never tell consumer what they do not cover but promise we repair or replace it if it can not be repaired.

    We pay >$1000 a year plus $100 copay. When they need to pay for big like AC, they just deny the claim. What a rip off. If you assume they will do expensive repairs. If they show what they actually do not cover, I will never buy the warranty (I was a customer for years with 3 home warranty companies). I cancelled my warranty because they cheat it and cheat customers giving them false impression that they will repair all your (only small repair job). They can come up any reason to deny your claims but without conscience to sell your warranty. Watch out they are not for helping you. I am paying myself for a new AC >$9000. Do you actually believe they pay you anything?

    I think Choice as a whole is okay and their support desk is helpful. However, some of their subcontractors are extremely unprofessional. I had 2 bad experiences with a subcontractor they use called 123 Appliance Repair. I submitted 2 separate claims where this subcontractor accepted my claim, set a date and time, but they never showed up not even a phone call. I tried calling the subcontractor and texting the number provied by Choice, but they never responded. Choice should record and monitor all customer issues with their subcontractors and should cease doing business with them before customers stop doing business with Choice.

    I have only filed a claim. No one has actually come out yet. But I do have some observations others who are potential clients will want to be aware. When I filed my claim I had never done anything like this with a warranty company. So I didn’t hear from them for a couple months so I contacted them. I asked them, "Why haven’t I heard from you or received any updates?" They said they were awaiting a diagnosis from my technician. (They couldn’t find a technician to take the job so I received an email that I could choose my own.). They said they never received the diagnosis. I said, "He sent it." They insisted they hadn’t received it. So I told my technician to please send it.

    Well cut to Thursday 05/22/2026 - I spoke with a representative and she said that because I hadn’t contacted them in 30 days then they have to start a new claim. I said I wasn’t aware that I was supposed to call every 30 days to keep my claim current. She then said they have to put a hold on my card for a couple days. I said, "Why? What does putting a hold on my card have to do with opening another claim?" She said, "No money comes out. It’s just the process." Finally still confused but I said ok. She also said that since a new claim was opened they will automatically search for a technician. I said, "I have a technician that you told me to get last time and he’s been working with me and you since February." She said, "Sorry."

    I told her I wanted to speak to someone that can change my technician back to the one I chose. She ignored my request. I kept asking questions still about what does a hold on my card have to do with opening another claim claim. She hung up on me. I tried to call back several times and the recording said they were closed but their website says customer support is open 24/7/365.?? Finally after about 5 tries they answered. I calmly explained the whole situation. She said she would speak to a supervisor. She came back and said I could keep my technician. I said, "Thank you." 5/22/2026 pm - I checked my bank and they took out the $75 service fee that their last email said I am supposed to give to the technician when he comes to fix my ductwork!

    I’ve asked 3 times in emails to return it to my account immediately. They have not done it yet. I am on Social Security disability I told them I need that $75 to give to the technician as his service fee when he comes. Crickets. Looking at reviews they are a lot like my experience but worse. They are not BBB accredited. 10,000 complaints and about 2,000 settled just to cut their losses and get them out of their life.

    My realtors bought Choice Home Warranty for me when I first bought the house. They have an app where I submit claims and it's very simple. It gives you a dropdown and you check it off. Recently, I did a claim for my hot water heater, and I had to get a new one. The only thing that I don't like is that Choice Home Warranty has to find a plumber and sometimes that takes a little bit of time. I can't just call a plumber. I might be able to, but I have to pay it upfront and I don't know if it's even covered, so I just let them find a plumber. When I filed a claim for my air conditioning, it seemed forever. It was three or four days and it was hot as hell. I was a little annoyed ‘cause it was so hot. Finally, somebody came out and fixed it.

    Other than that, the contractors are very nice. Everything is very good about the program. Choice Home Warranty covers a tremendous amount of things that could possibly go wrong in your house like outlets, ceiling fans, garbage disposals, air conditioning units. It is well worth it if you have an older house. When I moved into my house, all of my bigger ticket items were old but I like that I don't have to worry about me paying a big-ticket item to get fixed. When I had to do my hot water heater, it was $300.

    I have a claim with Choice for my AC. I'm still dealing with it right now. It's been about a month. I had issues, and they came down and got somebody. Thought it was just a refrigerant, low on that. So they charged it up, and it went fine. But then, within two weeks, I had the same issue again, with it not cooling. I called them again, and I didn't know that I had to reopen the claim.

    I ended up making another claim, and the same person who came out the first time was the same person who came out the second time. And the same issue again, and he was telling them what the problem may be, but they wanted him to go ahead and put refrigerant and a sealant in there, like a dye, and then go from there. Lo and behold, again, it happened on Memorial weekend. So I called him again, and I didn't have somebody come out till Tuesday after Memorial Day. But they didn't want to take his opinion on what needed to be done. So they wanted to get a second opinion.

    So, at that point, then, here I am waiting from there until today to be able to get somebody to look at the unit again. My AC unit has not been working for over a week here, and I'm telling them something needs to be done. Because if I'm losing refrigerant, it seems to be a simple fix. Then, it seemed like they're dragging their feet. I'm not too happy with them.

    I purchased the 3-year platinum plan from Choice Home Warranty. I submitted three claims over the years and two have been denied. How could you not cover a level sensor on a washer? It's like once they get your money you're on your own and in addition; they have increased the diagnostic fee from $50 to $75. I can't speak for any other company but this one is a rip off. Time to go to You-Tube and to anyone considering purchasing a plan, you need to first go over the do's and don'ts, this company is more 'don't'.

    I had never been informed exactly how washer operated. He explained the clothes are not put in nearly like a washer with an agitation. The water will straighten the clothes out.     I had to have my air conditioner done, and I wasn't happy that I did not get a reimbursement from Choice. It was a $100 part and $100 labor. The air conditioner repairman is one that I got. He left all the paperwork with me and I sent it in to Choice. Apparently, their procedure says the guy is supposed to come and give me a bid on what it's gonna take to fix it. Then I have to submit it back to Choice, and they either get back right away, which is doubtful, or it's a while longer. That means my repairman is gonna have to leave then I'm gonna have him to come back. But he didn't have time to sit around and wait for me to get approvals. He had appointments coming up. He was on a tight schedule because it's Arkansas and it's hot. Everybody's getting their air conditioned worked out so I just went ahead and had him fix it. In the end, I was told by Choice that I couldn't get reimbursed for that work.

    With my washing machine, the repairman figured it all out. He said he would send the report in but Choice was not gonna repair it, which they did not. They gave me a choice of some washing machine that was nowhere near the quality of mine so I said no. Then they gave me about half of what my machine was worth. We're considering moving to another company because that wasn't very good. It was two bad experiences we've had back-to-back.
