    Hello I called Choice Home Warranty on March 1st about a leaking hot water heater. They sent me a technician out that day to check for the leak. The technician took pictures and saw the water on the floor seeing that there was a leak. You would have thought he would empty the water out of the water heater but no. He came back on March 4th to empty about 5 gallons of remaining water in the water heater. Choice replaced the broken water heater with a new one. Choice Home Warranty paid him $450 then he wanted $400 extra from me plus I paid him the $75 upfront fee. My floor was ruined from the water leak and the technician scratched the floor from sliding the old water heater out of the way.

    I reached out to Choice Home Warranty about the damage and I sent them pictures showing the damage. They tried to notify the technician but he would not respond to Choice. I sent the technician a text about the damage and all he wanted was to fight with me saying he didn't do any damage so I sent him pictures. He will nothing about the damage. I asked Choice for his information and a copy of his license and insurance. They refused and said it's in the paperwork that they are responsible for the technician but they won't give me any of his information. So it's small claims court for Choice and the technician. So. I give this company a 0 for a review because they are not customer friendly! "Beware".

    I am very disappointed in the service provided by your Management, Specifically Jean **. We had a garage door issue, filed a claim, service technician came, tech called Choice with the problem to have it repaired, and it was denied. Spoke with the technician, it was normal wear, the unit was out of warranty, and your claims manager should have approved the repairs. I appealed his denial of the claim and spoke with Mr. ** and he said it is only repaired for normal wear and tear. Now please tell me the definition of normal wear and tear? A new unit was put in 2023, Mr. ** said I should call that company to come fix it. I did not hire that company, Choice did and besides that it was out of warranty. My contract specifically states you repair garage doors, what part of that am I not understanding, my husband is so upset with Choice, he hired the same guy that you sent out to repair the garage and paid him directly.

    If we have to pay for repairs, what is the purpose of having Choice as a Home warranty company. I have sent many customers to you based on your response to our claims. This time I feel you were wrong for not repairing the garage door since it is part of my contract. Mr. ** will cost your company money by not repairing items the first time the right way. He is not a team player. You will lose customers and potential customers by not doing the right thing, and the cost for the technicians to continue to fix the same issue over and over and not getting it right the first time can cost you thousands. I am attaching the bill for the repairs for the garage door opener and fully expect choice to incur some of these costs. I have been a loyal customer and just renewed my contract; I hope I do not go away with a very sour taste in my mouth for Choice.

    DO NOT USE CHOICE HOME WARRANTY! They are scammers just like all of them are. They charge $50.00 a month, plus $100 service fee to come get a tech out. If an appliance is over $200 to fix they will offer you a "buyout" from a wholesale price they say they can get but not share where they get this pricing. Not a public price they say. Our dishwasher is $399.00 on sale. They gave us a "buyout" for $272.00... a basic dishwasher is $299.00 tax and installation not included... they don't even cover a "buyout" they advertise. They are scams, scams, scams! Basically they cover the tech to come look at it after it's said and done. Stay far away!! Do not waste your money like everyone says!

    The service man that arrived to repair my furnace was very nice and explained what he was doing and why. When he was finished with the job he cleaned up the area around where he was working. Upon his completion he explained to me what he had done and why. He couldn’t repair the problem and he fixed it temporarily so that I would have some heat. After he left he called me to tell me what Choice Home Warranty had decided. He said that Choice had declined the request to replace the furnace. Saying that the furnace problem was due to lack of maintenance.

    This is the second time that Choice has declined a repair request or replace a damaged item. Both times were to replace not repair. Both excuses were made in error. The first time was a washer. They claimed that a leg on the washer was broken and that was causing the problem and the claim was denied. Now the furnace, something in the furnace dirty and they claimed that was lack of maintenance. Because of that they declined the replacement of the furnace!!

    Our chief complaint with your service is that you make it so complicated and time consuming for the subcontractors you hire to do the work to get paid that most of the really qualified people in our area have told us they simply won't respond to your requests for workers. They say even once they get the paper work in to you, you take far longer than seems reasonable to pay them. If there are no workers willing to do the labor involved in our repairs, it is the same as having no warranty at all. We will likely not renew, nor recommend.

    Choice provided excellent service. First they sent someone from a company that was no good. He did not know how to even fix a switch that no longer worked. Then the company harassed me for the $60 service fee and said they were going to put me in collection even though they did not provide the service. None of this was Choice's fault. When I told Choice they reassigned the case to another contractor with no problem. This contractor was great, he fixed the outlet in less than 5 minutes and I paid him the $60 service fee. Choice was wonderful getting me a 2nd electrician really quickly.

    I am learning slowly but surely that this company is no good. Every time I need to reach them, I'm stuck talking to AI and the AI just keeps repeating that it can help me but cannot. Then when I call the 888-373-7924, they are outsourcing. I was told when I signed up that they would not be one of those companies. Then I finally get approved for something, and they said they sent an email about it, but it has expired, and I cannot use it anymore without submitting another claim. I never got the first email. How would I use it??? I'm very disappointed as the sales rep that signed me up was VERY sure that they were the better of the home warranty companies.

    I would like like to give a zero however I have been waiting the repair person contracted from Heart and Hammer Construction to do the repair work on my refrigerator which they said needed a compressor. So they came in and they stopped the leak and never turned my ice thing back on. They were scheduled to be here from 3 to 8, I phoned at 3:45 p.m. no answer. I phoned at 7:30 and left a voice message a second time with Heart and Hammer Construction, that no one had arrived. Then I phone Choice Home Warranty, which appears to be a scam business. Read the reviews. My refrigerator is still not repaired. At 8:30 Choice Warranty sends me a message saying that I missed my appointment. My car parked all day in the driveway, no one on my cameras. My dogs would have not laid quiet in any way. The driveway is gravel.

    No one showed up and this Heart and Hammer Construction Company took my $75.00 the first time didn't show up although I phoned their number. I am turning both companies in to the better business bureau in the morning. I am calling Choice home Warranty about my refund. I am also asking Heart and Hammer to refund my money so they won't have a lie to tell there. Also, I am requesting that this is repaired before my warranty expires. Also, there is a lawsuit filed against this company as I see all these negative comments. Beware of Heart and Hammer, Construction, LLC and run from Choice Home Warranty. Let NOT CHOICE HOME WARRANTY BE your choice. You will regret it. I have been dealing with this repair almost 3 months and it's still not repaired.

    Choice home warranty is a bad joke and no laughing matter. Steer clear of this deceitful, dishonest company. I want my $75.00 service charge back. They also have you deal with the person they contracted but you paid Choice Home Warranty for the warranty that was not honored. THEY HAVE BEEN BLOWING UP MY EMAIL ABOUT RENEWING. Absolutely not!

    I have a sink stoppage and was not approved due to improper installation. I see that they have determined that but it has never been replace. It’s wear and tear and not covered under the plan.     The service technician was good, but I paid for a service that wasn't needed because the problem was not an electrical issue. I had submitted a claim for an oven repair, and when the technician came out for the oven repair, he said it was an electrical problem. I explained that the electricity was working fine, and he said he could not find anything wrong with the oven, so he said an electrician was needed. I paid the fee for the oven technician, and when the electrician came out I paid the fee again for service. He said an appliance technician is needed to repair the oven. I feel like I am getting the run around - it seems like Choice Home Warranty is sending technicians out to collect the service fees with no service being provided. I am now waiting for another technician to come out and I am unhappy that I have to keep paying fees for services that are not requested or provided.

I call them (I really thought I'd be out of luck), To my surprise they set up an appointment with Maytag service and they fixed it, not only the drum to spin, but my door handle came off and they got me a knew on and put it on for me. Also I had light stop working in the kitchen and it was the wiring and they got me a new light fixture. Last I think Air Conditioner / but it was all good. I think they saved me a lot of money and time. You ought to try them out!!!

    HVAC stopped cooling. I’m in Florida mind you. Filed a claim on a Tuesday and received notice a tech will be here the next Monday 6 days later between 8 and 5. They picked a company that’s 70 miles from me. Rather than any of the hundreds that are within 20 miles. took the day off the appointment off. Tracking first said 12 then 140 now it’s 430.     The adjusters worked tirelessly to find me a technician to come look at my washing machine.     Poor warranty coverage. My doc says water heater fully covered but CHW is only covering $160 of the replacement cost and I paid $75 service fee for the plumber to come and am being told I need to pay the plumber an additional $577 in addition to what I need to pay for the prorated charge that Home Depot will charge for the new water heater. Poor insurance company. I believe they are not worth the money because you don’t get anything for the price.

    I've never left a Negative review. My experience with Choice shifted that narrative. My values were "if you have nothing good to say? "Say nothing!" Not any more. Homeowners deserve better and truth. My experience with Choice Home Warranty has been Awful! I've only experienced Unreliability Rude personas, Anger, lack of professionalism, and SOME disrespectful technicians. Not all. I've had "No heat the entire Winter!!!!" of `2026. Unbelievable huh?

    I still have a leak...from 2025, that was Supposing fixed three times. That has caused a huge spike in billing cost. Each time of the same repair it only works for a brief time thereafter leaking again. Three Times! The repair technicians including plumbing, and electrical, have been totally unreliable, and a few were incapable of being able to do repairs. Except ONE.

    Keep in mind they can/will charge each time a new Tech is assigned. In my case the reassignment was not my fault, because "The technicians are selected by Choice." One plumbing technician complained to me Choice was not paying him enough money to do the job. Wouldn't that be a conversation between the Employee/Employer? At no surprise he became brutally Verbal on the phone. He never returned. Thankfully so. If all of this unhealthy behavior wasn't enough they Increased my premium way over the advertised price this day.

    And Without NOTICE! They added increase without notice that was not approved. They have sent technicians whom were RUDE, ANGRY, Un-Reliable, and unable to do repairs. The last Tech slammed doors in anger in my home. "Disrespectful"! Smart Consumers we all are! Please do your homework. I do not want this to happen to anyone. What a disappointment! So Draining!!!     I've been protected by Choice for the last two years. When I submit a claim, I do everything online. Their website is excellent. Their techs have been great as well. My recent claim was my garbage disposal. I got a new one because it was leaking. There was no way to fix it, so they just replaced it. Having Choice is worth the money. I would recommend Choice if you have basic appliances, basic fixtures and things in your home, and you're not looking to replace or upgrade to a higher-end quality.

    In general I was impressed with Choice, lots of follow up when trying to sale the policy, but now after a few properties insured and few tears of payments, finally needed to file my first claim. So I did, explained the issue so they made me pay the service fee only for Choice to tell me then after that the “water pump” was not covered under my policy. Felt totally taken advantage of, the agent could have told me that no need to send a technician and make the payment as my policy did not covered that. Made me waste my time, my money and made me think that Choice policies are worthless.

    Original Review: No mater what issue you have that requires a human intervention, forget it. They have AI which gets stomped and then, good luck. I called 5 different numbers let the phone ring 30+ times on each number and then they disconnected, no voicemail. One time we actually reached a human, were told we'll get an email in 2 hours (5days) that email called for setting an appointment on line (2 weeks out) you have a 15 minute allotment if issue needs longer, you have to set up a new appointment.

    Being a Realtor nearly 50 years, I dealt with nearly every warranty company, never had I dealt with worse. They're OK, if minor issue, small repair. They use Sears AC which serviced one house, AC failed 3 days later. Now they serviced a different house, AC doesn't work, they diagnosed as needing a new mother board, we asked what about Freon? Oh, that requires another service call, an AC unit that doesn't work Freon need not be tested. Huh????

    Updated on 05/03/2026: AC stopped working during heat wave in Calif in March which broke records for that month being at over 101. The house is occupied by a renter that is 94 years old. Choice sent Sears repair company, they that the motherboard needs to be replaced and they have to order it, after 3 days it arrived and they installed it, we asked them to make sure Freon levels have not been lost, to our amazement, they said that is not part of the service. Being a Realtor for nearly 50 years handling hundreds of homes, this was a shocking response.

    We called Choice to say service is incomplete as unit still NOT cooling, they offered a new service call in 4 days, while our renter is sweltering in heat (we offered a hotel stay, she declined) We called our own freelance repair person, which had to add 2.5# of Freon for which we paid on a Sunday $380. We tried to speak to a human NOT AI. AI said we'll get an email with who to call, an email "promptly" arrived 3 weeks later, we followed instructions for a person to person call, we got another email that we'll get a call back, that was over a month ago, we're still waiting,. Unbelievable how they stay in business.

    Our hot water heater went out. Claim was denied because it wasn’t broken due to ‘normal wear and tear’. I found out it was because it was leaking. Right, broken water heaters may leak. We’ve used them twice in @8 yrs with them. We’ve calculated that with the money we’ve paid you we could’ve bought a hot water heater, washer dryer set, and dishwasher, with like $800 remaining.     I gave a three star because the people I talked to were all good knowledgeable but for my dishwasher, they declined fixing my dishwasher due to roach infestation. They didn’t call me. They didn’t talk to me. The technician didn’t tell me. The problem is I don’t have roaches. My house flooded, and wherever they sent my dishwasher when they cleaned out my house, it had to have roaches, but there was no way for me to know that, and no one called to talk to me about it.     The technician who worked on our garage door problem (Bobby ** of Top Service Garage Door Repair) was outstanding. He successfully repaired the problem but explained that the malfunction would reoccur due to the garage door motor not being strong enough to continually operate the door. He attempted to get Choice Home Warranty to install a better system, but they refused. As he predicted, the mechanism failed again, less than two weeks later. It should be noted that the system in place was previously installed by a Choice Home Warranty contractor.

    The Choice customer service manager, Jean **, refused to have the system repaired again, saying that the repeated failure was due to "overuse." Obviously, that is a nonsensical response. Up until this occurrence, we have been very pleased with our Choice Home Warranty service/account. However, if Mr. **'s service is typical, we will certainly switch to another home warranty service when the opportunity arises.

    No stars, but to write a review, you have to pick at least one star. We thought we had an issue with our hvac system because our gas bill was so incredibly high. Service person they sent was Ken from NO SWEAT RESIDENTIAL. He, alone, is the company. He said our dampers were closed and we needed a new panel and the gas we were paying was being stored unused. Then we called a reputable company who came and said nothing was wrong and the truth is that our gas bill was high because of the unusually cold winter. Choice stood by this bogus repairman.     The tech that visited our home was amazing! Mr.** walked us through everything that he was doing and was impressively kind and knowledgeable. Dealing with CHW directly has been a toss-up, the few times that I called, no one was able to answer my questions. Then, less than 20 minutes after visiting their "Renew Your Warranty" page, I received back-to-back calls and email about how they had a one-day-only deal to match my current warranty rate. On day one, the customer service representative that I spoke to said that this deal was only valid for today. However, the next day they called again with the same deal. When I asked them why they were calling, he said because my warranty was expiring soon. I asked when was it expiring, he could not tell me a date and then said it was very soon.

    For reference, my warranty doesn't expire for another 10 months. When I express it I wasn't interested in renewing my policy today, he said that this deal would no longer be available after today, and then it was best to do it now. Fast forward, someone else called me the following day and said that they were the only one who was able to offer me a deal where my next renewed quote could be the same price as my current price, and that he was only able to offer this today. I'm disappointed at the customer sales representatives at Choice Home Warranty have decided to use high-pressure sales tactics when it has been proven that transparent and consistent customer relations is what keeps High retention. If anything, if it happens again, I may be even more likely to not renew my policy in the future. I've enjoyed the service from the technician, again he was absolutely amazing.

    But if Choice Home Warranty has this unsightly habit of only actually engaging with customers when it's time to renew to a policy, that would be my sign to not renew. I would also like to add when I call the first time with questions, I was bounced around for about an hour, and then was told to call the company that was providing the service directly and that CHW would not be able to help. When I talked to the company that was doing the service, they told me that I had to reach out to my warranty, so no questions when answered. We are still dealing with the appliance, but now it's in CHW's hands. Hopefully, the entire matter can be resolved and I can leave a more uplifting review in the future. For the time being, I would not recommend CHW to my friends and family, but I am open to changing this stance dependent on the next two interactions.

    This company has been an absolute nightmare to deal with, and I strongly regret ever purchasing a policy from them. We bought a new home last June and paid for Choice Home Warranty’s premium plan, including pool and spa coverage. What we received in return has been nothing but evasiveness, delays, and a complete refusal to honor the contract we paid for.

    Issue 1: Pool Heater. Within a few months, our pool heater began malfunctioning. Even though our policy explicitly covers the pool equipment, Choice initially denied the claim. Only after escalating to a manager did they reluctantly agree to send a technician — someone located two hours away, who spent a few minutes here and declared nothing was wrong. They refused to send anyone else. We ultimately had to pay out-of-pocket for the repair through our local pool company. I spent countless hours on the phone trying to get them to uphold their own contract, but every call was routed offshore to representatives reading from a script with zero authority or understanding of the situation.

    Issue 2: Hot Water Heater. Over a month ago, our hot water heater began leaking. I filed a claim immediately. Choice sent a plumber within a week, who told me the unit likely needed to be replaced — but Choice instructed him to simply replace a valve. Predictably, the leak continued the moment he left. It then took two more weeks for them to send another plumber, who again confirmed the unit needed replacement. Yet Choice once again told him to replace the same valve. The leak continued within minutes.

    Since then, I have called Choice roughly 20 times. Each time, I’m met with someone who can only repeat scripted lines like “wait for the email,” which never contains any meaningful information. They blame the plumbers, claiming paperwork was never submitted — even though the plumber personally showed me proof that it was. He has called them multiple times as well.

    It is impossible to reach anyone who understands the issue, has authority to act, or is even willing to acknowledge their own contract terms. At this point, I have paid nearly $800 for the policy, $200 in service fees, and $450 for the hot water heater repair — all for a company that has done nothing but delay, deflect, and deny. They finally authorized the plumber to replace the hot water heater, but then said that there was an extra $450 that wasn’t covered. I asked what that was for, and neither the plumber nor Choice could explain. I paid it because I needed hot water, but it’s really awful. I’ve had warranty companies before and none have been this shady. Do not trust this company. I purchased this policy because of their “good reviews,” but it’s clear now that reviews can be bought. My experience has been beyond unacceptable. This company is unprofessional, unresponsive, and unwilling to stand behind the coverage they promise.

We had a leak from a faulty pipe under our sink and it was clearly covered and CHW denied this even when it was clearly pointed out to them. They do not answer emails or calls.     The process for submitting a claim was very simple. You select a date and they give you a timefame window which was from 8-5 when I did it. But then they let you know a day ahead the tech will contact you between 8am - 10am to narrow it down which he did and he arrived when he said he would. They have a tracker but not sure how accurate it is. Service was quick. Tech was knowledgeable and courteous. Paid the $75 service call fee at the time of submitting the claim. Also did not have any kind of professional uniform with the company name and his name on it, just regular street clothes. Naturally, I was a bit concerned meeting him at the front door and letting him in.     I own a home, which is why I got a home warranty. But I let it go because everything in my home was new. Later on, my aunt signed up with Choice, which led me to them. I usually submit claims online because calling isn’t easy. When I try to speak with a representative, I end up on hold for a long time. My mother also has Choice Home Warranty and I didn’t even know. She is 86 years old and does not know how to do it online, no matter how many times you show her. It is also difficult for her to call in because a lot of the people aren’t nice and make her feel stupid when she’s trying to explain what she means and what's happening.

    Choice had a repairman come out to fix the dryer when I was at my mother’s. Before the guy came, I explained that the dryer wouldn't stop when the door was open, and that the clothes weren't drying. You have to put them in there six times to get them dry and the vent from the dryer that goes outside needed to be changed. The guy said they don't do anything outside. The vent is right behind the dryer and was not outside. But he refused to do it. I was not happy about that because there was no way my mother could have done that. So, I just did it for her.

    When the drain was clogged, Choice sent somebody who didn’t have a snake. He has a power drill with a 50-foot snake that he puts on it, which does absolutely nothing. I could do that myself, because you can buy those at Home Depot and Lowe’s. He didn’t even know what he was doing and I asked Choice not to send that plumber. There are several others that I don’t want in my house again. Another repair guy cut a hole in my wall because something was leaking behind it. It’s dry and covers the wall and the tub, and he was about to drill under that, and I yelled no at him. There's no plaster or anything that we can do to repair that. You have to replace it. So, Choice has to be better at vetting their repair people. Also, if you look at the contract, you’d think you're reading certain things covered. I've read it front to back and the reps will argue with you that that's not what that means.

    Another thing is the price. I pay $45 each time the repair guys come out and my mother pays $100 each time. When I asked about that, they said the best they can do is charge her 85 when the techs come out. They can't do for her what they're doing for me. It’s the same amount of time. But no one had an answer for me. I got it down to at least 85, which I was happy about. But even though the experience was satisfactory, it was difficult.

    Choice Home Warranty company is very unethical, rude, dishonesty, lack of integrity, and violation of trust because when you file a claim they will hire cheap technician where this cheap technician come fix one thing and create more problem and they report back to the company that system is working as it designed or also their cheap technician send false report too.

    Example 1: Once I claim for my dryer for not drying the cloth with normal cycle it was taking extra long time to dry the cloths and so their cheap technician came and did something and he send a report to the company saying that my drum baffles are bad. After reviewing his report the choice home warranty told me that they don't cover my claim. When I check my drum baffles none of them were damaged or loose so that it would create any drying problem so I called them and told them that issue is not the drum baffles and I also request them to send new technician to verify the problem but they said NO they cannot provide any new technician so I had to hired my own technician and he found that heating element was not working properly.

    Example 2: Once I claim for 2 of my bathroom faucets. Their cheap technician came and changed cheap brand faucets and fitting on the sink where water drain so after he change the faucet and fitting so now we having problem with draining so we called the technician to report the issue and they told me that system is working as it designed and they reported same thing to the choice home warranty. I called the choice home warranty to report the draining issue and warranty company told me the their technician reported them that system is working as it designed and they only authorized to changed the faucet, not the fitting on the sink so if their technician is not even authorized to the changed the sink fitting and he still changed he sink fittings so choice home warranty told me that since they have fix the faucet issue and this is different issue so I have to file new claim and give new service fees even this problem was cause by their own technician.

    So I would say never ever sign up for this choice home warranty because they are very unethical, rude, dishonesty, lack of integrity, and violation of trust.

    I filed a claim the second time for same issue from last year. The ignitor switch and exhaust blower motor kept freezing up on our gas furnace. I filed a claim last year and the HVAC technician just sprayed WD-40 on the spinner wheel and it worked thru the winter.. Now this March 2026 the same issue happened again. The furnace would not kick on even when the wheel was unstuck again. My Choice claim was submitted and the HVAC tech person came out the next day to inspect the furnace. He surmised that the inducer blower motor was the issue and needed replaced. But when he discovered that the blower motor was now only available with a full inducer conversion kit that costs $1,781.74.

    Choice would only cover the estimated motor cost of $500, even though it was not sold separately. I had to agree to covering the difference and pay the tech person for emergency service call in addition. I agreed 'cause we were without heat for 13 days in the middle of winter. After he installed the parts and the blower motor and igniter were again working, but the gas did not ignite, even after he tried other solutions, so he left. I still had not heat. I then contacted my regular HVAC technician and he walked me through the wiring, which was incorrectly connected by the first HVAC tech. I used the schematic to reposition some of the wires, and finally the gas fired up and we now have heat. I am grateful though for the response by Choice and also the end result. All is well, that ends well.

    Horrible company. I put in 2 separate claims for my boiler, never had a tech come out to look at it. CHW kept closing the claim. Still not fixed. I put in a claim for my refrigerator in mid December 2025, it was finally serviced in the end of March 2026. It was deemed as needed to be replaced. The company offered $818. Said it was basic. I asked for someone to call me. They don’t give replacement value of consumer prices. They give replacement value of wholesale prices. In which you can’t buy anything comparable to what I had. I have to call every week to get updates and it’s always the same response “give us 48 hours “. Make sure you read the fine print because a lot is not covered.

    Customer service is awful. I have multiple homes and I will not renew with CHW. Also, if you are up for a renewal, they nonstop call you, even when you ask them not too. If you go on the website, they will call you and tell you they see you on there. They track you and do not listen to your requests to stop calling for renewals.

Found that no replacement parts were available in any form. 11 days later, CHW gives the result, paying for a new refrigerator. Fine, 1199.00 but not same color, only the cheapest. Problem was it took 31 days from claim to getting a egift card from Lowe's. So, a month to get my money, not acceptable in my book.     I had an HVAC claim denied by Choice Home Warranty, and the reason was honestly ridiculous. A licensed technician diagnosed a failed thermal expansion valve (TXV) due to normal wear and tear. The report clearly stated the system was properly installed, clean, with no leaks, and no signs of contamination. However, Choice Home Warranty fixated on a single word: “restriction.” Peter stated that in the world of HVAC, this means contamination blockage. Even though the tech also wrote "Normal Wear and Tear" but I guess we ignore that wording in the world of HVAC. Instead of acknowledging that the restriction was caused by the failed valve, they chose to reinterpret it as “contamination” — something that conveniently isn’t covered. Even after the technician clarified this directly, they ignored the explanation and doubled down on their denial.

    So let’s be clear: The failure was mechanical. The cause was normal wear and tear. The system showed no contamination. But they still denied the claim by twisting terminology to fit their narrative. It’s hard not to notice that this system uses R-22 refrigerant, which is expensive and harder to source — making this feel less like a legitimate denial and more like cost avoidance.

    If you’re considering a home warranty, understand this: They don’t just evaluate your claim — they interpret it in whatever way saves them money. In my case, they didn’t dispute the failure. They just redefined it. Attached is the claim sent to Choice. My advice: pass on this company. Particularly if your system uses R-22 (My suspicion due to availability and price. This is the only reason I can think they'd give such poor excuse)
