We purchased the Ariens deluxe 28 snowblower at Lowe's on 12-15-24. The first time we used it, it broke. Took it back to Lowes to be told we had to get ahold of the Lowes customer service. We were told we had to take it into a repair shop. We had it fixed only to have it break again the next time we used it. We were told again to take it back to be fixed. We got it home only to have it break once again.
We went in to talk to Lowes as we no longer want this snowblower. We were told they will not take it back and we need to talk to the manufacturer. We called the manufacturer to see our options only to be told they do not accept returns. This is still under the manufacturer warranty. We paid 1600$ for a machine we cannot use in the middle of winter. If this company really stood by their machines they would allow you to return a crap machine. We no longer want this snowblower but seem to be stuck with it. I will never buy another machine from this company and I will never recommend them.
Michelle, we are very sorry you are having this experience. We would like to work directly with you and a local authorized Ariens Service Dealership. I will also send you a private response to obtain your model and serial number. We will contact a local dealership who can help diagnose the snow blower to ensure it is properly repaired. Our commitment is ensuring you are able to use the machine as it was intended to be used.

I have a four-year-old Ariens XL60 with about 400 hours. I had a noisy spindle that I removed to replace the bearings. On watching YouTube videos, they indicated that there is Loctite on the retaining nut and to use heat to remove it. I did this with no luck and completely stripped the threads. I discovered that instead of using Loctite that they now use a different alloy which appears to have brass in it for the retaining nut. The only reason that I see that this is done is to ensure that the spindle is not repairable with $14 in bearings but by purchasing a $300 (Canadian) spindle. This is completely unacceptable as there is absolutely no reason to even use Loctite on the retainer. All this is doing is chasing customers away from what is otherwise a decent mower.

I purchased a Ariens 60" Zero Turn Model 918006 from Lowe's on */23/24. Being disabled I was so excited to get it for my wife to help cut her cutting time. It was delivered on the 28th. My wife cut grass only once and towards to end of her cut the belt came off. We reinstalled it only for it to come off again. I also noticed the pulley on the opposite side from the discharge chute was extremely hot. I called Lowe's whom I was sold a service agreement from in which the sales person stated if any issues Lowe's would pickup, repair and return to me. This sound like a great thing being I was disabled.
I called and they informed me that this would start once the factory warranty had expired. If I had known this I would not have purchased the service warranty. I called the manufacturer and was treated with disrespect and was given a name of a dealer to call. I called Campbell's Equipment. They informed me that I had to bring it to them and gave me yet another number to call that I could pay to have picked up, brought to them, repaired and returned at my cost. You pay for a mower only to be treated like crap and it ends up costing you more. I truthfully would not recommend this mower due to the customers service plus it did not last 2 hours.

Day one as I'm setting up the mower, the plastic front ride height adjuster lever cover snapped off. On the 3rd use, the actual front ride height adjuster lever snapped off. They are attached to the front axle, so to replace, you need a new front axle! On the 5th use, the drive lever assembly in the handle fell apart! It was barely held in and I had to bend it in a vise to make it fit back in properly! On the last use of the season, it turned out that the drive cable had frayed and it broke while half done with my lawn. To make things worse, to find a local repair shop was nuts! Lots of dealers, one repair shop a good ways from me. I will never buy another one of their products!

I bought a 52" IKON zero turn mower. The belt broke in the first 10 hrs. I contacted the warranty dept. They sent me a replacement belt. It was 4 inches too long. They said I was doing something wrong. I ordered the same part number belt from Gravely and it fit perfect. When I shared the info with Ariens warranty dept. They told me they don't care and didn't want my info. Rude and really poor service. I wish I didn't buy an Ariens mower.

I purchased a Ariens ikon xd52 in 2020 from Lowe's, so I was happy with it until today, when the front left side of the deck suspension welded bracket broke off and got into the deck belt, ripped it to shreds and left a weld tear hole into the deck. Upon further inspection I have discovered that the deck is not completely fabricated out of 11 awg steel like Ariens claims. The lower part of the deck is a different size than the top plate and the suspension brackets are of a my thicker Awg to make it look like it's heavy duty but it's not.

Worst purchase EVER. Spent $5000.00 on this mower. Have had it for 1 year. Has broken down today for the second time in 4 weeks. Good luck getting parts and service in Canada. Takes many weeks for parts to come in or be delivered. Have spent more time broken, waiting for parts, putting on new parts than I have used this machine. Thank goodness I kept my push lawnmower cause I've used it a lot. Broken down again today. Part is not listed in the manual. Now I have to figure out what part this is so I can order another new one. Hopefully the extended warranty I purchased will cover the issue this time. It's cost me a small fortune to fix this newly purchase mower this summer. Would NEVER recommend anyone purchase this mower. Save yourself money and headaches. Buy a better quality well known, company's zero turn mower.

I purchased my Ariens IKON XD 52 on November 14, 2020. I must say that for comfort, it is the best mower I have ever had. Also, the time it took me to mow my lawn (about 2.6 acres) has been cut by more than half. Easy to maneuver and has plenty of power. So why a two-star rating you ask? After about a year, things started to go wrong. First the solenoid went out, then the start switch had to be replaced. Now I know these are not major items and they can be easily changed out but now the Transaxle LH part #05291800 is leaking all over the place. This is not a cheap part, nor is it a 20-minute fix. Now it's off to a shop for I don't know how long plus the payment to have it transferred to and from said shop.
I have also heard (I have no proof of this. I have just heard) that the transaxles were only designed to last 2 years. I really hope that is a mistake. So, here I sit waiting to hear how much it is going to cost me to ship it to and from a shop and thinking what is going to go wrong next? The right transaxle or something else. I just don't know anymore. To me it is just not worth the headache. Thus, the two-star rating.

Mower deck vibrates excessively when blades are engaged. Even running at full throttle. Much worse than my Cub Cadet mower. Also Kohler engine is a gas guzzler. I am sorry that I bought the mower. It is not worth the money that I paid for it. Do not buy an Ariens!!!

I switched to Zero turn Ariens. I really do not have any issues! Only regret I should get a bigger mower than the 52” I own! The Ariens was my choice after viewing many other brands! I also wished the rear wheels were much bigger in diameter!

I bought the zero turn Ariens 34" cut and never realized what I was missing. I previously used a Sears and Honda riders and it took about twice as long to cut. Bagging and mulching is great also. Wish I would have purchased one of these a lot earlier. This mower is very easy to clean and work on. The battery is easily exposed by tilting the seat forward and the the engine cover lifts up so the mower has everything accessible. Love it.

Bought a new deluxe 30 efi snow blower fall of 2019. Used it only twice because of very mild winter. This year first snow would not run right. Took to dealer and they replaced some control board. Next snow ran good for ten minutes then began acting crazy again then died completely. Has been at dealer now over a week and still not fixed. Now they say throttle body on ordered. So 8 to twelve inches of snow forecast for tonight and here I sit after spending 1900 dollars on what was supposed to be a good machine. Very dissatisfied with this product.

The mower deck belt breaks after 2 hours of use. No one stocks the belt locally. If you buy this mower keep several spare belts as they have to be ordered online and generally take a week to get if you can find the right belt. Bought this from Lowe’s and they do not stock belts for it. It has been a bad experience from the beginning.

I bought this for my daughter in GA from the Home Depot. She mows 3 acres of flat grass. From the beginning the mower belt kept falling off but she is handy and got the hang of putting it back on. Now it’s 3 yrs old and falling apart, she just had the mower deck attachment welded back on and now the entire right side mower deck has fallen apart and is unsafe to use as the blades are no longer covered and the frame has broken and hits the blades. This mower is a piece of junk. I gave it as a gift but have given her a huge headache and subpar piece of equipment that isn’t safe to use. I would not recommend this mower to anyone...Home Depot won’t touch it, Ariens says to take it back to place of purchase....no one wants to own this piece of crap and I spent $2k!!! Plus an $85 mower belt and $100 repair bill for welding the mower bracket back on. It’s a nightmare.

Purchased Ikon 42 zero two weeks ago. Mowed a yard with sweet gum balls threw a belt not once but 3 times the last time it threw tension spring, has 2 hours on it. We took back to the dealer they said they didn’t know why it was doing it. The dealer told me to get in touch with the sales rep. I did. He asked how I paid for. Unfortunately I paid cash. I reached out to Ariens Corp. They really don’t want to hear your problems, matter fact they sounds like they are into sales not service or good customer service. They told me to refer to the warranty and the dealer. We have a friend who also purchased one and is in the shop with the same issue. I definitely wouldn’t recommend Ariens Mowers.

I have a Zero Turn Ariens 42". USA made. At the time, it was a good price. Only had one repair, head gasket leak. It is fast, top speed of 9 mph. I see now, Cub Cadet and John Deere price is not that far off today. I do miss having a regular ride on. Zero Turn can will tear up a lawn on turns no matter how well you steer it.

We bought our unit from Home Depot in August 2014, and have only had one major issue with it not long after we purchased it, and the process of that being covered fully under warranty went 100% smoothly, up to and including transportation of our mower to and from our front door. We've had our unit for 4 years, and the first year it was used on a heavily wooded quarter acre lot that did not mow easily. It's been used in its intended application the last few years on a nice and smooth quarter acre lot that can be mowed well in half an hour, and still works very well for us, even though it will be going on its fifth year soon.

I received a Ariens 17.5hp lawn tractor from my children for Christmas 2 years ago and within the first 2 months of using it to mow, one of the drive pulleys for the tractor, (which were plastic) broke so I went to the nearest authorized dealership which was 30 miles away to get another one and I was informed that they had to order it which then took about 6 weeks to get in. Then about 3 weeks later the engine developed a knock in it that gets louder when it gets warmer. I took it to the so called dealership after having it for about 3-4 weeks. They tried to tell me that it was the points.
They must have thought that I just fell off the manure wagon. This dealership in Michigan seem to be morons. I found out later that this authorized dealership does not like to do warranty work because the factory does not pay very fast and they don't like to wait for months on end for their money, so they do everything they can to discourage Ariens owners. After numerous attempts at no avail I am now stuck with a Ariens riding mower that I cannot use. So, in my final comments I would very strongly encourage future potential Ariens customers to look at other name brand products and that in further research I also found that this company is not an ACCREDITED company. Meaning that it does not meet a certain standard of quality and service. I don't like giving reviews like this but I feel that future customers need to have a idea of what kind of product they might be buying.

Two things. First, it (Ariens 19.5hp 42") was not the best product for my purposes in the first place. My property has many trees and obstacles and the clutch drive was ridiculously inefficient and frustrating. So, no fault of the manufacturers, I include it only to help others make an informed decision. Secondly, there is no simple way to realign the wheels when they inevitably toe out. Realignment means purchasing new draglinks at $50 each. After the second time having to replace these parts we chose to replace the mower completely for one with a hydrostatic drive. This product may be great for those who have wide open clear spaces with long runs, but if you frequently have to navigate around anything in the yard, then I suggest looking elsewhere.

When you take into consideration the price for what you get this mower is great. It has a good turn radius, decent speed, and plenty of height adjustments. Use as a residential ride on lawn mower and you can't go wrong.

Great mower. Only trouble was an electrical charging issue. After that was repaired I have not had anything other than standard maintenance. It has many good features, the way the mowing deck follows the ground the drive system hydrostatic makes mowing easy.

Ariens 42" riding lawnmower, Briggs Stratton 20 HP V2 engine - I have just started my 8th year with this mower and it is still running great!!! At the end of each season I change the oil and filter and all other filters and use a gas additive in the full gas tank. I also change the 2 blades that I get through the blades for life program I got when I bought the mower through Home Depot. After 5 years I did replace the battery, but as yet I have not replace either the drive belt or the deck belt, but I do keep a spare of each. The engine always starts quickly with full choke. Many have said engine is hard to start... Choke it... I did put inner tubes in all 4 wheels but that is a tire issue not a mower. The only thing I have had to replace is the mower deck spindles as they do not handle hitting rocks well and our area is rocky.
I mow about 1 acre of grass once a week for about 6 months a year. The engine has plenty of power on the 42" deck which I specifically wanted for ease of getting around landscaping. I usually run the engine about half throttle and a fair speed and it does an excellent job of mowing. The mower was the base mower with the V2 2 cylinder engine, bought on sale and I could not be happier with it and I would buy the same mower again if given the need! Great mower!!!

I am on my third year with this mower. From the first year it was in the shop under warranty twice for a fuel problem because the engine would not run without the choke pulled out and after a while it would not run at all. They claimed it was dirty fuel and replaced the carburetor and fuel pump. This happened two more times in the second mowing season. Same claim. I made sure all of my containers were clean after the first time. I run the same fuel from the same containers in all of my push mower, weed eater, edger, blower, chain saw, hedge clipper and tractor.
I started it today and I’m right back with a mower which will not stay running unless you pressurize the fuel tank and then only for a short period of time. Home Depot said I should run it dry after each use which does not make any sense at all. I bought this because of the heavy construction of the deck. I would not recommend this mower to anyone!
