A base line dishwasher without all of the fancy racks and features that cleans better than any brand we have experienced the disaster of ownership over the past 25 years! I had never owned an Amana product, but due to a Bosch, a Kitchenaid, and Whirlpool all failing within 13 years and providing mediocre cleaning abilities, I wanted to try a different brand with less in it to go wrong.

The Amana was a clearance item based upon that model being discontinued, however, they do continue to offer a base model. It cleans everything very well so I highly recommend this brand. Apparently the parent company, Whirlpool, has not had time to ruin this stellar brand.

I normally do not write reviews as everyone's experiences are unique in their situation, however we purchased a Amana washer machine 5/2024.. Purposely no bells and whistles, eliminating further mechanical issues... 18 months into this new washer, the motor acted up, when the washer wasn't in use it would sound like it needed to drain. My husband did the youtube fix to no avail... I called Amana to see what options were seeing machine didn't even reach its 2 year anniversary... Need to Pay 300.00 plus dollars, and plus service visit, and one time fix, I could go on a plan, 32 dollars a month for 12 mos. Basically you are betting that the washer is going to go on the fritz again... Crazy! My advice to whoever is looking to buy a Amana, buy a Speed Queen. Yes, expensive, however I believe wouldn't be experiencing this problem with cheap and useless washers....

Today marks the fourth service call, temp this AM is 1 degree. Draw your own conclusions about Amana products and their servicing dealer.

I had issues from day 1. I returned it and they gave a 2nd one and it's a piece of junk too. I opened the bottom drawer on day 1 and haven't been able to get back in place. The oven temperature is erratic. Never where you put it and the burners either shut off or are on high. I have never owned a brand new stove till now and I really want my old used ones back. Horrible product.

I will NEVER buy any Whirlpool product again, I don't care if Amana is a budget brand of theirs. No appliance should crap out with only months of normal use. I feel scammed.

Oh and we just replaced the Amana dryer we bought at the same time. Too bad we can't leave Zero stars!

I would give this washer a zero if I could. It stays out of balance no matter what you do and the lid locks so you cannot readjust the clothes when it is constantly out of balance. It will not last long the way it rocks when this happens. Sounds like there are rocks in it and the whole thing jumps so much it moves several feet. Do not buy Amana products ever.

We purchased an Amana washer in June 2024. ln December 2025 we now need to replace the control. We have decided that buying a new washing machine is better than repairing it. We have also found that it you purchase the extended warranty it is difficult to find a repair person who will fix if you have the warranty. We feel that this machine should have lasted longer. We will never buy one again.

It lasted 5 days, 3 loads, the lid will not open and it stays on rinse, saw online how to open the top and reset, that did not work, goes right back to rinse and the lid locks. Machine is junk, Lowe's should stand behind what they sell and DO NOT, at Lowe's they have a 48 hour return policy and do not care once. You buy an appliance and leave the store. They wash their hands of any responsibility.

After only more than a year, my washer is not filling the water tank and stop the cycle. It was a real issue to find a technician, I pay monthly coverage but the company couldn't find a technician in my area. I paid 280.00 for a panel sensor and I got a refund from insurance company after a month. A week the washer stop working again. I called again the insurance company but the answer was I needed to look again for a technician or stop paying the coverage. It is ridiculous 😒 to have insurance and I have to find a technician. My washer just lasted 18 months working fine. At this point I need a new washer of a different brand.

I bought an Amana fridge from Home Depot on September 22 2024. Within 2 days it was getting warmer. We called for a warranty repair, and were scheduled 10/9. He said the compressor was bad out of box, ordered a new one and returned 10/17 to install it. In June our ice cream was soft and it wasn't making ice. Another appt on 6/26 w a 7/8 return, and a 7/18 return with more work & parts. September fridge is getting warm again, 9/10 appointment with more parts ordered, returned 9/16 with part bad out of box. Rtn scheduled 9/22. On 9/18 I called Amana and said I don't want any more parts, it's been a year. They said they sent it over to replacement and someone would call us back.

We called back today for an update and found that the replacement takes 3 to 4 weeks and they canceled the tech who was coming back with a part so no matter what we're going another month with no fridge. I've thrown out and replaced groceries 5 times this year. I've bought a mini fridge to get us by. I've spent hundreds on takeout this year. All for amana/whirlpool to say, "Too bad. So sad." Do NOT buy!!! If you have any kind of problem expect weeks between part replacement/fix schedule. Also they pushed us to buy the extended warranty before our yearly warranty was up and started charging.

We purchased an Amana Dryer 7 months ago and have been dealing with Warranty issues for over half that time. The Dryer (model NED4655EW1) has been destroying anything that is knit or linen. Think shirts, sheets, tablecloths. It was pulling thread and snagging material. We reached out to warranty and it took several weeks to get a repair person to our home, all the while we stopped using it. The repairman came and replaced the drum seals and glued one of them. The very next time we used it, it destroyed (2) more shirts and left more snags in sheets and now added a glue smell. We immediately called again. This time they said they would replace the drum assembly and it would be a few more weeks. The repair service cancelled due to lack of parts.

I called a week later and after what became several calls, they said it was factory backorder and they had no timeframe for getting the part. I contacted the warranty people for Amana (Whirlpool) again and they said it would go to escalation but I would need to wait at least 2 weeks to get any further updates. When I noted that we had been without the use of our warranted dryer for several months now and had several hundred dollars of destroyed clothing and linens, the response was essentially - "Not our problem, not covered by warranty." I asked why they wouldn't just replace the entire machine since they can't get the part and prior repair didn't fix anything, they again said not their policy and that I would just need to wait. I asked to speak to escalation, denied.

We waited two more weeks and had to call them again. Now, they said the part was in transit. The repair person came two days ago and threw the new drum in in 30 minutes and left. Thing don't look right in the drum, but the repairman said it was correct and the dryer would essentially self heal! We do not trust this dryer not to destroy more stuff, but are now obligated to let it. Amana/Whirlpool warranty and this dryer both are miserable. For the amount of money we spent and the fact that it has taken so long and destroyed so much, their lack of concern, I would not ever recommend anyone purchase their products. We would like the dryer replaced with a new one to make amends.

Amana top load washer, a NTW4519JW, new model year 2024, bought June 2024. At first, great, larger load washer, runs quietly, cleans clothes really well. You could fit a queen sized blanket in there and it wasn't over loaded. I did research for 3 months as I saved up money to buy a replacement and this washer was the winner of my research at the time. Was a replacement of a older washer that had emitted a dino death scream (what was wrong I don't know fixing it cost more than a new washer).

Fast forward a year... in fact 1 yr before the 1 yr warranty would be up. It had been working great, as all appliances should do. I came home from work, and I heard the washer running... specifically the drain pump. I had not done a load of laundry since the previous Monday, 6 days before. I live alone, so it's not like someone left the washer running. The washer had randomly put itself in "flood mode", you have to play some whacked out game with the selector knob to put it in diagnostic... but you have to wait for flood mode to stop. Unplugging it has no effect on this. Holding in the power button, will not make this stop. Unplugging it for DAYS will not make it stop flood mode. Either way, I pull off all the hoses check for clogs, not even any water comes out of the drain hose, and that, is unusual, so that drain pump, man that works good. No water in washer so that isn't it either.

Online research will tell you it's very likely the control board has gone bad. Do you know what isn't covered under the warranty? Control Board. Other research tells you pressure switch, also not covered. When this thing is in flood mode you can't get it out to get it to do a load of laundry. I paid 699 dollars for a brand new washing machine. Within a year it already doesn't work and requires expensive repairs... repairs that even just buying the board is HALF the price of the washing machine. Know what the salesperson told me, the most common problem is the start button goes bad. No apparently not. That still works fine. 1 year.

The last washing machine with ZERO MAINTENENCE done to it and was bought on 3-20-2006, brand new for 239 bucks.. It made it to Feb of 2024, a Kenmore. This Amana, can't even make it a year. Warranty doesn't cover what's wrong with it. To think, I have had Amana fridge/freezers for 26 years, this has soured me on the brand. Oh, and the problem is so common, all those parts are back ordered. I get to fight with my expensive washer. Pro's, it's slightly smaller footprint than the Kenmore was, the wash basin is larger in it, supposedly energy efficient but I saw no change in my electric bill (even before it tried to run constantly) and oh yeah, all that extra running of the drain pump, burns those out. I should have researched what goes wrong on these things, alas, live and learn.

Brand new Amana medium gas dryer. It does not heat up enough to dry the clothes? Dryer vent is clean and the gas line is functioning properly. Lint screen is cleaned after each load. My guess is they are built to be more efficient than functional. No energy is being saved though. Have to run the dryer 2 or 3 loads to get the clothes dry.

I will never buy an Amana product again. I bought an electric stove that arrived scratched all over and the seal around the glass top was broken. I sent them pictures and they stated it was just cosmetic and they wouldn’t do anything about it. Now less than 18 months later, it has quit working completely. Both the oven and burners are useless. I wish I had done more research before ordering a new stove from Whirlpool and discovering they own Amana. I hope I didn’t just set myself up for more aggravation.

I bought an Amada French Door refrigerator in 2014. I had a problem with water dripping and freezing on the back ledge of the freezer and the ice maker stopped working. I did some research and the company indicated that the drain plug was not the correct size. I installed the new drain plug ($17) in the back of the refrigerator and it fixed the problem. After that, I cleaned off the ice maker, flipped the bar a few times and the ice maker worked. I have not had any problems until now (2025). The ice maker stopped working and after some testing, using YouTube videos and a multi-meter, I have determined that the ice maker is no longer functional. My question is; should I replace the ice maker or just wait until the refrigerator dies and get a new one?

Been extremely unprofessional. We bought an Amana washer in January of 2024, and have been having issues from the very beginning. From not washing the clothing properly to now having major issues and not cycling correctly. We had to call in for maintenance many times, always been referred to Diamond Factory Service. They were also horrible, constantly trying to convince us that the washer was fine and had no problems. In March the machine stopped cycling properly, meaning it could no longer be used. We have been waiting ever since March to have it repaired and it is still broken. We were promised a technician from Diamond Factory service since this was a common issue on the appliance. The technician came earlier than the agreed time, left before anyone could meet with him, and cancelled our appointment. Avoid both Amana and Diamond Factory Service at all costs, they are completely horrible, rude, and disrespectful.
