I purchased the TV in February 2007, and now, in May 2009, the screen goes blank. I have sound, but the image is gone. If I turn it off and then back on, it works briefly. Also, I have tried unplugging which worked a while longer; but now, that's no longer working. I'm out $800 for one year and a half of TV service!

We purchased a 37" flat panel TV from Walmart in May 2007 for about $800.00. On June 1st, our TV would not turn on. The blue light will turn on, but the screen remained black. We had to unplug it to turn the power off. It will no do anything now, no sound, no picture, just a little blue light. It's frustrating to spend your hard earned money on something that lasts only two year. We are now watching my husband's 13" TV from high school. There is no damage to us, just a huge inconvenience. We cannot afford to have it repaired at this time. I will never recommend Polaroid products.

We too purchased a 37" Polaroid flat screen TV for approximately $800.00 in December of ‘06 that just went out June of ‘09. It started by making a static sound when turned on and picture would be delayed. Then, it would only work if unplugged and plugged back in. Now, the picture will not come on at all. It is very upsetting to have spent that much money on a product that only lasted 2 1/2 years.

I came across this website when I Google searched "Polaroid TV" to see if I could find a way to get it repaired. After reading the ridiculous amount of similar complaints, I suppose we will save the time and energy and not even bother trying to repair it. The only problem is that we will now have to purchase a whole new TV. Guess I'll Google search the next manufacturer to make sure it doesn't take me to this website before I make a purchase. It's frustrating and pathetic that you can't seem to expect anything to be made of good quality anymore.

We purchased a Polaroid 32" flat screen TV with DVD Player from Wal-Mart thinking Polaroid was a good company and long standing. From day one, the DVD player would not play some of my 8-year old grandson's movies but when I would change discs, it would begin playing. We thought it was unusual for it to play some and not the others. This went on until the warranty ran out and then all of a sudden the DVD wouldn't load anything. It always shows "No Disc." I called Polaroid and they said to clean the heads and if that didn't work to order a new DVD player for $100 and put up a $100 deposit until I sent the old one back. Cleaning the heads didn't work. Only one screw holds the DVD Player in so I will be sending it back to them for free as I don't need a piece of junk in my house. Having read all the problems vented here, I now wonder how long the TV will work.

I too bought a 37" Polaroid TV from Wal-Mart for $900 around the beginning of ‘07 and now in May ’09, it crapped out on me. The TV will not turn on. It started acting up with a bad picture, then I had to keep unplugging it, and plugging it back in. Polaroid made a lot of money on this scam. I've always liked their cameras, but I would never buy from them again. I hope the Better Business Bureau can do something about this.

We also purchased a Polaroid television on the Black Friday of 2007 from Wal-Mart. Who would have thought spending $800.00 on a television to last a year and a half? Only our problem is the sound because we have none. Of course, we can have their tech come out and try to fix it for the low price of $225.00 with no guarantee that he can even fix it. Sounds like a deal to me! Something told me not to buy this brand. Maybe Wal-Mart should investigate the products they choose to sell to us consumers who are looking for the "good deal".

I bought a brand new 42inch LCD TV and about three months, it went blank on me. I called Polaroid and told me that they don't fix that model at their location so they gave me Proview Tech phone number. I called them and it took them two months to ship a box. Now, they have my TV and it's been almost one month and they don't return my phone calls at all. I left two messages for Patricia, the supervisor there and no answer at all. I'm just sick of all this rundown they're giving me. I just want them to tell me straight out when can I get my TV back and repaired.

I bought a 37-inch HDTV Dolby Polaroid in 2007 and it stopped working in May 2009. Sound is good but no picture. It does not turn on or off. I have to plug, unplug and play with it but no results at all. I spent $1,400. I bought insurance and nothing has been done. I called customer service for Polaroid and I was kept on hold for 53 minutes, for some agent to come on the line and tell me that they could not help me at all that I had to go back to the store I bought it from. Three weeks ago I was watching my nine month old TV and the display suddenly loses power. The unit now is completely dead and this is not the first issue I've had with this unit --- the DVD player has been on the fritz as well.
I call the Polaroid sister call center the MINUTE that they open and I'm told that I was placed on hold --- I waited on the phone for HOURS and spoke to no one. The website is down too, which screams RIP OFF. I'm told I cant get a replacement because I dont have the original receipt --- but even if I did I would have to pay for repairs. Repairs that SHOULD BE UNDER WARRENTY. Polaroid is a rip-off and I will NEVER buy another product from them again. Their products are crap and customer service is even worse. I'm out $500 and its only been nine months.

I purchased a 42" LCD HD TV from WalMart on Black Friday 2008. The moment we plugged this TV in it was bad. It turns off every 1-1/2 hours. We called WalMart and they told us we needed to contact Polaroid for repairs. Well, 6 months later and NOTHING. We can't get them to call us back and we get tired of holding for an hour just to finally get a live person on the other end to be told, "you need to fax in your receipt" AGAIN...for the 20th time. Finally, last night the TV went out. No sound and the screen is purple. You can hardly see the picture. What a piece of junk. We tried to return it to WalMart last night but was rejected once again. We were told we would have to go through the manufacture. I guess that is a hard earned $800 down the drain. What is a $60 extended plan good for if you can't get the TV repaired? They need to recall this TV but I read where they filed Bankruptcy. Just my luck.

I purchased a 37" LCD Polaroid TV in May 2007. The tv worked perfectly up until four days ago, when I tried to turn the tv on and only the blue light came on without the picture. I disconnected the tv several times with no avail. I called the technical department at Polaroid who said I would have to pay $225 for them to send out a part and technician. When I asked the company, how did they know what part to send out, I was told that a supervisor would call me within 48 hours to comfirm that they would be sending out the right part. The supervisor never called, and frankly after reading all of the complaints from this website, I will save my $225 dollars and use it to purchase a realiable tv. Unfortunately like many other's I don't exactly have $700 lying around to use towards purchasing a TV. I would definitely participate in a class action lawsuit. Polaroid needs to be held liable for selling tv's that only last two years and under.

I bought a Polaroid LCD tv in January of 2007 paying about $750. Within seven months, black lines appeared across the screen. Called Polaroid and was promised a part within 30 days and told to call when it arrived to schedule for a tech to install it. It took eight weeks and another call to receive the part. After completion of the repair (11/2007) and after the warranty ran out, what I will call "ghost lines" appeared sporadically. We disgustedly lived with it because it was more of an annoyance than anything.
Around early April 2009, when we turned it on it would display a blue screen and "No Signal". We couldn't scan the channels because the menu would disappear when we would select "HDTV". If we turned it on and off several times it would return to normal in a few minutes to a few hours. It became progressively worse until all we had was the aforementioned condition. Verified operation of antenna with another tv and called Polaroid. After jumping through troubleshooting hoops, support tech still wouldn't listen to me, saying that it was iterference, the local stations powering up and down their transmitters, any excuse she could try. Only after I told her that certain functions didn't respond (which was a new occurrence)would she believe that I knew what I was talking about. She abruptly offered parts and service for $225. She stopped short of being rude, but was insulting and certainly not helpful until I was persistent. She treated me like a "dumb consumer". After reading of all of your problems yesterday, today the wife and I replaced this albatross without bothering to try repairing it. Electronics store salespeople roll their eyes, smile sympathetically or both when we mention the tv we had. They all seemed to agree that Polaroid makes an inferior product, as do we.

I purchased two LCD Polaroid TV’s; 15” $258.80 and a 19” $317.37 from Wal-mart on 4/6/08 for my business. The picture on the screen for the 15” faded out completely on 4/9/09 (just lightly past the one year warranty). I attempted to return it to Wal-mart with the original receipt and was informed that after 90 days they could not accept the return. THEN, I kid you not; the 19” did the same thing – blank screen on 5/4/09 (within weeks, I couldn’t believe it). Now I have two TV totally $578.17 that don’t work just outside of having them for ONE year. I was able to get in touch with manufacture’s customer service and their offer was to send the TV’s back (shipping to be paid by me), for the cost of approximately half the original purchase price they would attempt to repair the TV’s and if they couldn’t they would send me new ones. However, I must pay them upfront over the phone with a credit card.
I didn’t see investing more money into these TV’s to be to my benefit, for fear of the repair or replacement TV’s eventually having the same issue. After reading all the other complaints it didn’t appear to be the wisest finance choice; obviously they have a defect. I’ve since them purchased two new Vizio TV’s from Coscto. Costco provides a 90 day return policy AND they (Costco) provide a 2yr warranty on the TVs! Definitely a better way to spend my money!

My wife and I purchase a Polaroid 37” LCD TV, model number FLU 3732D from the local Wal-Mart in Rock Springs Wyoming in September of 2006 for around $1,400.00. The television just started making an extremely load squalling noise when it is first turned on and the screen has interrupted color bars. At first it would only last a minute or so and the noise would stop and the screen would come into view but every day it is taking longer. I have tried the 1-800 customer service numbers numerous times and have not received a return email to questions asked through their on line support team on their website.
After doing some research on the consumer affairs web sight I am outraged at the sheer volume and magnitude of complaints identical to ours in regards to the Polaroid LCD televisions. I can more than likely finagle the funds to replace the TV but after reading the other complaints I feel that why should I have to do so? There is overwhelming evidence that this is a product wide defective piece of equipment. It took me over an hour and a half to read through the numerous complaints and I would guess that over 90% of them had similar, if not exactly the same issue. Please help consumer affairs. I believe that Polaroid should not be allowed to continue to profit from the sales of proven defective equipment. Even if there is no restitution made to the countless individuals as my self that are obviously out of thousands of hard earned dollars, we must protect the unknowing individuals that are going to unfortunately fall into the same Polaroid trap as we have by purchasing their defective product. Class action lawsuit? Yes, please count me in. I would gladly spend another $1,400.00 just to see Polaroid accountable for the defective televisions tey have supplied and to save some poor individual from making the same mistake we have. The phone rang for about 15 to 20 minutes before someone answered. He seemed to know exactly what the problem was and said he would email me with an address and confirmation number, and then I was supposed to fax my sales receipt to him and box up and ship the TV to Walnut, California.

I said that would cost a lot to ship an item that large and were they going to pay for shipping? He said no, but that they would repair and pay return shipping. I decided to forget it because shipping a large heavy package to CA and back, it probably wouldn't make it back in one piece, and so far the TV still works. We purchased a 32 Polaroid model 3200 LCD from Circuit City in July 06. We purchased an extended warranty at the same time. This was our first LCD TV. It always generated a lot of heat, even a couple of feet away from the screen. Last week we tried to turn on the TV and no picture or sound and we could not turn it off. A friend who was watching our home while we were gone explained he turned on the TV and it make a crackling noise, no sounds, no picture and could not be turned off. We called Polaroid tech support and they told us it would cost $225 plus parts and we would need to find someone to take care of the installation and it was probably caused by a surge in power. We have a surge protector. I felt like I was getting the run around with Polariod and told them I would think about the costs they quoted. Then, I remembered I had an extended warranty so I called to arrange an appointment. After multiple calls with the extended warranty company they have identified a repair service. The repair service said they will need to order the part and it could take several weeks. The problem is I've been talking with several companies who sell TVs and heard the Polariod TVs were built without a way to cool the power supply. My question is if Polaroid has built a product that is known to fail, why spend the time and effort to fix it, when it will more than likely fail again. The warranty company told me if the TV can't be repaired the extended warranty would cover reimbursement for a TV for a similiar cost, or a refund of my extended warranty fee. I don't want to go through another failed power supply and have the same issue again. We paid $899 for this TV and $199 for the extended warranty. I want Polariod to step up and admit they made a sub-par product and do a proper recall. Wal-Mark was carrying the TV until 2 weeks ago and now they are not. Costco and Best Buy will not carry the product. I'm concerned if it is repaired and fails, it could cause a fire. I've read enough complaints on the internet over the past few days. We contacted their repair service and was told that for a $165 warranty plan they would fix the television for that one time only, but if we purchased their $225 option that particular problem we were having would be fixed for as long as it occurred. We went with the $225 option. The part was ordered via FedEx, and the repairman came 2 days later to install it. When he opened the box he realized that the company had sent us the wrong parts. Instead of sending it back, he went on and installed the part anyway and the television began to burn! He told my husband that Polaroid would have to give us a new television. That's when the real trouble began....the supervisor at Polaroid got very nasty with me and stated that (1) they were only refunding $100 for the part but the remaining $125 was the service tech's fee (what happened to the buy-new warranty option, I don't know) and (2) since the repair problem didn't work we would need to send and additional $260 for an LCD part. I told the supervisor that I wasn't going to pay for the LCD part, which may not work due to the burning that occurred when the tech installed the wrong part. I purcahased a Polaroid 37 flat screen in Nov. of 2006 and paid $1300.00 for it. Recently the tv would not come on. The blue indicator light would come on but no screen. The tv then will not shut off either. In order to turn it off, you need to unplug the tv. The tv also has a dark steak on the right hand side of the screen. As reading other consumer complaints about the same product, many many people have experianced the exact same problem. Spending this much money on a tv set should last much longer than 2 years. I had tv's that lasted 15 years and not had an issue. Since many people experiance the same problem, polaroid, I am sure is aware of the problem and should help the consumer replace, offer free extended service for another 10 years, or grant the consumers money back. To say the least, I will not buy another thing from polaroid if they will not offer to help the consumers with these product they know is a lemon. I will also deter any other consumer from buying a polaroid product. Sorry Polaroid but you have not taken any action to help the consumers after we have spent our hard earnded money on a tv that you know is a lemon.

I thought maybe it was just that channel so I changed channels to see. It was like that on every channel so I turned the tv off and let it set for a few minutes. When I turned the tv back on there was no picture and no sound at all. I unplugged it and plugged it back in several times but nothing worked. Also every time I turned it back on, it would not turn back off, I had to unplug it to get it to shut off. My husband called customer service but they would do nothing about. They pretty much told us that we were just out of $900. Something should be done about this. I have a tv in my bedroom that is over 15 years old and still works just fine. There needs to be a lawsuit against Polaroid and against Walmart for selling thesed junk tv's!!

If you unplugged the set and waited approx 30 seconds it would come on until yesterday 03/06/09 now it won't work period no matter how long I unplug it. I contacted a local TV repair store and they informed me that I might as well set it out curbside. It is unrepairable. The Warranty is no longer good because of the amount of time that has passed. This really ticks me off that I'm obviously not the only one this has happened to. I hope a class action suite is filed....Polaroid obviously knows of their issue and as of today haven't heard a thing as to what their plan is to resolve this. I guess this is what I get for not researching before I go and spend $1600 on a T.V. In July, 2006 bought a 37 LCD tv (FLM-373B) from Walmart. Worked fine untill a month or so ago when it started to make the buzzing noise when I turned it on. Started to leave it on so as to not have to listen to the buzz every time it was turned on. I should mention that early on since I have owned it, it would all the sudden pop up a black square or sometimes two black square boxes with letters inside the boxes, these would just go away after a period of time. Definately a sign of worse to come! Other times a whole line of gibberish would pop up on the lower portion of the tv. But otherwise it had operated o.k.
Untill recently, the noise started. Then today, (this is what finally pushed me to write in instead of just reading all the other complaints) while my g-friend was watching tv, all of a sudden two bright yellow boxes popped up onto the screen and the buzzing noise which usually goes away the longer the set is turned on got louder and louder. She turned the channel and the boxes were still there so she tried to turn the tv off but it wouldn't turn off so she finally had to unplug it to fix the situation. I didn't feel like arguing anymore so I let the problem with the picture be.
Right before black friday of 2008 a different problem emerged with the TV; our remote stopped working. I was promised that I would get a new TV sent to me within two weeks if I sent my broken TV to the Polaroid repair center. I had to pay for the box to ship the TV in myself (it was 22 dollars...), but I was ok with that since I was supposed to get a new TV when they had gotten my broken TV. Two weeks pass, no TV, no phone call. I call the support again and is told that they don't have any TVs to send to me, but instead they will issue me a refund for the full amount I paid. They continue on to tell me that I will get the refund within two weeks. Two weeks and two days pass, I get no refund. I call them up again and is told that because Polaroid is in chapter 11, all their refunds has been pushed back to late January (this was early January). At this point I'm furious, I call the corporate office, they tell me the same thing, my roommate calls the corporate office, they won't return his phone calls, so he calls again, still no return call, I call again, no return call, and finally my roommate calls once more and catches someone as she is about to call out (usually you get an answering machine when calling the corporate), and she's accusing us of harassing her... The last call I made to Polaroid was in late January (the phone number to the corporate office is no longer in use, so we're getting transferred to the regular costumer service department), and they can't say for sure when our check is going to come, but they tell me it's within 15 days... They have continually lied to us and refuses to honor our warranty. We have also been in contact with Walmart where we bought the TV (they are still selling their TVs) and they were really helpful at first, but since our first conversation they have yet to return a single phone call to us, and they have not done anything concrete to help us. A lot of talk and no action. May I say that I'm a college student and this TV was 850 dollars, cheap for the type of TV I got at the time, but a lot of money for me none the less. My roommate found a number to call the Petters group (the owner/previous owner of Polaroid), and when he called he came to a lady that answered "Polaroid" so he explained our situation, and according to her the bankruptcy had nothing to do with refunds not being written. She went to see what was wrong with our claim, came back to the phone and said "well, you know about the bankrupcy, that is holding the refunds up", and my roommate called her out on what she had just told him. She got upset and basically said "I guess there's nothing I can do for you" and hung up. He called the same number a little later and got to talk to a lady that was a little helpful, she assured us that our check was gonna be in the mail tomorrow. I don't believe it until I see it, but at least someone actually called us back this time and made us a promise. He then called Walmart and they are reluctant to help us. At first they said they had nothing to do with it (I don't see how that can be since they are still selling TVs of the same brand), but then some girl started to wisper (literarly) that she would do what she could in order to help us. We're gonna call Polaroid again tomorrow afternoon since we got promised that our check would be in the mail by then I created a facebook group to try and make people be aware of what a bad company Polaroid is: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=49252265115

In December of 08 I began having difficulty turning the set on and off and that was followed by no picture and just the blue light to indicate that the set was on and it could not be turned off unless it was unpluged. I contacted polaroid and they charged me $225.00 for the part they felt would fix the problem. They mailed the wrong part to me twice and my Tv is still not fixed. I've replaced the Power Board twice. I will never purchase another Polaroid product again. Instead of having $849.00 invested in this I've got about $1,200 invested in a television that I could have spent that amount on and got a bigger & better television. On Jan 26, 2009 suddenly the screen became a group of indecipherable images and colors with a green glow around the edges. There was no sound and no matter what buttons are pressed, that was all I could get. The only way to turn it on or off would be to plug or unplug it from the outlet. We waited a year before we got rid of the box it came in, but then discarded it thinking if it made it a year it would be fine. Now we can't seem to find the right information to try to get it repaired by the company. After seeing all the complaints I am concerned that I may not get this fixed free of charge or get compensated like I feel I should. I would definitely be interested in a class action law suit against Polaroid.

They said to send them my receipt because sometimes they will fix the tv out of warranty. It took them a week to acknowledge the reciept, I had to send it to them four times. They then said it was definitely the power supply control board and if I prepaid $225 for it with a credit card they would fedex me the part and send a repairman to install it. They told me this would correct the problem because it could not be anything else. Not knowing any better I allowed them to take the $225 from my card. One week later the repair was made but the tv did not work. They said the part they shipped was defective and they would send another. One week later they install the new part. Still broken they said the would contact me in 24 with a decision on what to do. They never called. I kept calling and on day 5 they said they would send a repairman to do more tests. Supervisor Josey told me at that time that if they could not solve the problem on thie next visit they would replace the tv. One week later the repairman came and did the tests and I was told they would contact me within 48 hours tith the results. One week later after many calls from me, Supervisor Tony told me that they truely had no idea how to fix my tv but they were going to make me an offer. The offer was they were going to refund me $100 of my $225 and keep the rest for their time and trouble. If I paid the cost of shipping my old tv to them they would sell me a used refurbished tv with a 90 day warranty for the price of $649. If you do the math, if I was to pay them $649 plus the $125 they say they are keeping for their trouble, that means I would be paying $774 for a new, used, refubished tv with a 90 day warranty plus I would have to spend $80 to $100 to ship them my old tv to fix and sell to the next guy. Can't anyone see the scam in this?

We bought our 37 Polaroid LCTV in February 2007. After six months the speaker/sound would crackle for a good minute, then stop, and we wouldn't hear it again for a week, then this would repeat. This continued until January 2009; we lived with this small problem. Oddly, we never had the sound passed 25 or 30 on the TV volume scale, so the speaker/sound should not have been an issue. This lead us to where we are now, January 2009. The last two days our TV controls are unusable. We turn the TV on, and it doesn't turn on every time. We have to unplug it to turn it off, then plug it back in to get it to turn on, and then it doesn't turn on every time. The times that it does turn on the sound is buzzing, like static, and the picture is visibly banded horizontally. The TV is not usable at this point. I have enjoyed my Polaroid TV for the most part, including the clearness of picture and styling, but feel that a TV that I purchased for over $897.00, plus tax, was the lowest of quality purchases that I have ever made. Polaroid should be held accountable for making a product that lasts a minimal amount of time for the cost. I reviewed online complaints at this website and realize that we are among many that purchased a TV in 2007 with the SAME problem. I have not contacted Polaroid yet, but I see where it will get me. Putting more money into their pocket, and their actions still do not fix the problem. I refuse to spend ANY money on a return shipment to the company, and would only like to receive a FULL REFUND. It is obvious to me that a replacement or refurbished unit will not solve this rascal of a problem with their product.

It's been 14 months now since we purchased our Poloroid 32 LCD TV/DVD combo unit model #TDA-03211C from WalMart (Nov 2007). I consider myself one of the very-very fortunate ones who bought this model because everything on my Poloroid TV/DVD combo unit actually STILL WORKS perfectly!
This has not happened without a lot of effort on my part though. Within the first six months, the DVD box went out (chunking noise, would not load disks, and would not eject). Poloroid sent me a replacement DVD box in May 2008, but in Aug 2008 the exact same symptoms recurred with the new DVD box. Poloroid sent me another DVD box in August and that one failed in late Oct 2008. I never returned the previous defective one. They finally offered to send me a replacement TV in Nov 2008 because mine also has two small buldges in the gasket material that is around the edge under the front glass (cosmetic defect only). I told them to shove it after hearing about the other TV exchange nightmares that so many people have reported with this company. I told them that I had one of their TV's that I actually can still watch and I did not want to gamble that away with odds so high that I could get a much worse one. I did end up with an extra DVD box after all those exchanges though. I'm a master tinkerer with anything mechanical, so one evening I decided to take the extra DVD unit apart and see if I could tell what was happening to them. The problem was obvious and simple to fix. Some thin metal and plastic parts that load and eject the disks are deforming because of excessive heat. The DVD unit is mounted only about 1/4 from a thin metal plate that is right behind the picture screen. That metal plate is obviously supposed to deflect heat but it is inadequate in that regard. The metal plate itself heats up to about 120 degrees F in normal TV use and could probably double as a bread toaster. With the top and front cover off the DVD box (and no DVD in it of course) and laying it flat on a table, I pushed down firmly on the black plastic disk near the top center, and also on a metal lever near the top left front until they bottomed out. These are both easily accessible through holes. This was to bend them back down some since the lever was actually warped upwards by the heat such that it was rubbing the top of the box. I then went to O'Rielly Auto Parts and bought a 1'x2' sheet of 3/32 thick exhaust manifold gasket material for $8. This material is not flamable and will withstand temperatures that would melt this TV into a puddle (which might actually be an improvement for many of Poloroid's TVs). I cut the gasket material so that it would fit neatly inside the top cover of the DVD box (metalic side up), tucking it under the lip at the back and behind the front edge so that the top cover would fit back on as before without interference. I then put the top cover and front cover back on the DVD unit. I cut another piece of the gasket material to fit snugly in the space between the forward facing side of the DVD box and the metal plate that is behind the picture screen (metalic side facing picture screen). I then reinstalled the DVD box into the TV. It has been functioning perfectly for weeks now. No more strange noises, movies start right up, and the disks eject perfectly every time now. Thinking this must have just been a fluke, I took the second nonfunctioning DVD box apart and did the same things with it. I now have two perfectly functioning DVD boxes - a main one and a spare (screw you Poloroid if you're listening, you won't get either one back).

Both TV's now have poor picture quality (lines running) down the screen for now reason (no damage done). My brother in law bought one the same time I bought mine and his did the same thing six months ago. I looked into this and realized that I am not alone when it comes to this issue with Polaroid TV. Lucky for us, we did pay extra for an additional 2 year warranty on both products. our problems started with the 37 inch first. I called and requested service, they sent me a box and I shipped my tv to New York, they had for a month. When the tv was returned to us we uncrated it and set it up, now something totally different was wrong with it when we got it back. So I sent it to have one thing fixed (the HD componant went out on it) and it came back still not working. This time it was the side video imputs and color was messd up. I called, they sent another box, ship to New York again, it's been three weeks so far this time. I haven't gotten it back yet. I was told by the person that was rapiring my tv that they do use aftermarket cheap parts. Now for the 32 inch, press the power button, the light comes on, the tv screen itself does not not. You have to unplug the whole unit, wait a minute and try again. When it does finally decide to come on, the screen blinks and pops for about a minute. Also, when it does all of this, the sound is poppy and there is about three inch white line across the middle of the screen. Haven't sent it in for repair yet because I am waiting for the other one to get back.

On 01/26/2007 I purchased a 37 inch Polaroid LCD Television model number FLM-3732 (now a discontinued model) , paying $1181.11 to Circuit City On 10/3/2008 it died. Screen went black after only 22 months. First call I was told to replace a fuse which I did to no avail. After several more calls to Polaroid Tech support I was asked to FAX my receipt to Polaroid to get an OK to send it to their warehouse in Camarillo, California for replacement. Cost of TV replacement $310.00. They charged my credit card immediately for the $310 . . . So they have had my money all this time. I was told that my card wouldn’t be charged until they shipped the TV. Shipping charges were on me for a total cost $166.89 to return the product to their warehouse. The charges breakdown as follows; $43.49 for packing materials and $123.40 for UPS shipping. I was told that it would take about 2 weeks for the new TV to arrive. I called in about 10 days later to check the status of the replacement and was told AGAIN that it was 2 weeks until they would be sending it. The representative at that time also told me that I would getting a rebuilt or a new unit at their discretion. I was never told this in the beginning. I called again in 3 weeks and got the same answer . . . 2 weeks. At 4 weeks I called again only to get the same rout answer . . . 2 weeks. Asking for a manager got me no further. 2 weeks must be a plaque or motto on their walls. Calling at week 5 was like Groundhog day . . . Same useless answers . . . You guessed it 2 weeks. The question here is why was I told to send the unit back (on my dime) when they didn’t have any TV’s in stock. Plus they would replace my unit with a newer version on my unit namely FLM - 373B (also discontinued). See a pattern here? Circuit City and Best Buy no longer seem to carry Polaroid product . . . Smart on their managements part. Bad product reviews all over the net. Wish that I had seem them 2 years ago. Chapter 3, Finally, a manager stepped up with an offer to either send me a new 32 inch TV (obviously smaller then what I had originally) or a refund of only my $310. I took a 3rd option to wait 1 more week to see if the 37 inch TV’s came in. I called the following week to follow up to see if the TV was being sent out. I left a message for them to call me BEFORE they shipped the new TV as I needed to advise them that the TV was to be placed in a cabinet with a maximum of 36.5 inch width. While this information was in my increasingly large file . . . I was told that Polaroid had already sent a TV to me. They told me it was a 40 inch unit. OMG!!!! These people are dolts, fools, ignoramus or in serious need of a mental health professional. Today, per FedEx tracking the 40 inch TV should arrive which I am told to refuse and call Polaroid back with he tracking number to get my refund within 72 hours . . . That remains to be seen. Yesterday I bought a new TV at Costco and got a jump from 720p to 1080p 37 for HALF what I originally paid for the Polaroid and a 2 year warranty for FREE. I WILL NEVER, NEVER BUY A POLAOID PRODUCT AGAIN!!!!!

It is also important to note that the secratery said she would call me back THE SAME DAY which was 3-13-08 to give me a status update. SHE FAILED TO RETURN MY CALL! 3-14-08 Mr. Moore answered my call and said a TV was being released to me TODAY!!!!!!!!
I said that I either get it on 3-15-08 or we go to small claims court, that simple. He told me he would call and upgrade the shipping to overnight instead of two day and that I will have a 40 in. TV on Friday which will be 3-15-08. Two and a half months AFTER they were aware of their equipment failure. We will see.

Two and a half months of HD programing that I paid for through my local satellite provider that I was unable to watch. PLUS I am out nearly 60 bucks for the extended warranty I purchased for a 37 inch television through my place of purchase.

The 37 LCD TV that I purchased less than a year ago broke 3 weeks ago. A new part was sent out to us and a technician came (took three weeks just for that). He replaced the part, and it did not work. Upon calling the company, he was told that they would need to resend the part which is on back order for 2-4 weeks and then another technician would be dispatched (also another 2-4 weeks after that).

The Sears technician told me that this is a very common problem with Polaroid TVs, and in fact because of this they no longer are selling this brand of TV. He also informed me that the next part most likely will not work, and I would be sent a new TV which would also take a few more weeks. I contacted Customer service to find out if anything else could be done and was told that they have protocols that had to be followed. They said they may be able to get someone out here sooner if they use a returned part that comes in. I feel that waiting 8 weeks for another defective product is excessive. I understand that it is just a TV, but it was a major purchase for my family. I feel that if there is no way to resolve this in a more timely manner, I should be given either a refund or a replacement TV. They know that this part is defective.

Other than having to purchase an old TV for $50, just to have something to watch for the next 8 weeks, our major problem is the hassle and run around we are getting from this company. We spent over $900 dollars for this TV.

I called Polaroid company and they said they'll send someone to fix it.

It took them 1 month to send this guy after long arguement with them.

The guy came and said there is manufactural defect. I spoke with the company again and since the TV is under manufacture warranty.
They said they have to send another one to take another look it took them another month to send the second guy who said the TV doesn't work and they should a new one.
I called Polaroid again at 866-289-5168
The manager said they are going to send a new TV and they apologize for the delay it's been 4 months by now and I'm still waiting.

I bought a Polaroid TV Model #1511TLXB in November 2007. On January 14, 2008 the TV stopped working. I called, received an RMA number as it is on warranty and proceeded to ship it back on my dime on 1/21/2008. I have yet to receive an answer from Polaroid when they will be shipping a new set. They either tell me that it has gone to the warehouse to be shipped or they still have the part on backorder. They have been saying this since Feb 5, 2008. I have talked to various customer service people and from what I can tell, nothing is happening and they are just biding their time till I do not call anymore. I looked online and their seem to be many people who have encountered Polariod's lack of response.

I am out $200 some dollars and Polariod has not honored it's warranty. At this point I will have to go spend up to $299 to replace this set as I believe they have no intention of replacing it.

I returned a broken TV under warranty in November 2007. After waiting 4-6 weeks for a replacement TV and not getting one, I finally settled with one of the managers that I would just like my refund back since my original TV was in backorder and was taking much too long to get to me. The manager (Joe) agreed to provide the refund as long as I provided a copy of the receipt. I faxed it over mid-January and called to confirm if they received it (which they did). After waiting 15 business days, I received nothing in the mail so I called to follow up on the status of my refund. They said if I do not receive anything by the 1st week of February to please give them a call. I did, and when I called they told me they needed another copy of the receipt since the one they received was inapplicable.

I was frustrated at this point because they already told me my refund was on it's way, and then I find out they needed another copy of the receipt. I sent that one via fax AND email, and the very next day and I confirmed with not one, but 2 managers, for confirmation of receipt.

Now after waiting 10 more business days, I still have not received anything in the mail. After doing yet ANOTHER follow-up, I am being told that they need another receipt. And now they are saying that I might not get the refund after all. This is ridiculous because I have a voicemail they left on my phone stating that they have received all the necessary documents in order to process my refund and that it will be taken care of. I am beyond frustrated, and all I want is my refund, with this problem resolved. I would also like to know if I am liable for any type of compensation as this has been going on for over 3 months now, and I am at loss for the refund of $400.00 that is due and payable to me.

Above anything else I am stressed out from having to continually follow-up with the call center without having this issue resolved. I'm very frustrated with Polaroid's customer service center. I've been getting the run-around and was told different things and promised my refund numerous times since the beginning of this year with no resolution. This is not the way to do business.

I bought a lcd tv Dec 5, 2006 and it worked fine until Aug 11 when after I turned it on and it went dead. We called to report it on the 12th and they said they knew what was wrong and a part would be sent out in 3-5 days. Called after the fifth day and they said the part was on back order it would be 4-6 weeks. Have called 3 times and they still tell me the part is on the way,( by a slow boat from China).

This was all to the 1 866 2895168 number it said to call for repair.

Then I called the main number at Polaroid 781 3862000 and they gave me the consumer product number 18006055364
First day I got answering machines, next day I talked to a guy named Britt and he gave me this story of putting my name on the front of the list, wonder how many he told that to. I told him to send me a new set I'd send him mind, said he couldn't do that as he didn't have any.

Next day I returned the call from Dan who I had left the message with the first time. I ask him if they weren't making the 37in anymore and he said no.

Said they may have to send me a 40in if there parts didn't get in. Its now been another week and no news one way or the other. I still don't have a Tv.

7 month old TV took 2 repair attempts and 2 months before replacement was authorized. Customer service number always has over 30 min wait, have been on hold up to 3 hours, cannot get email customer service either. When customer service finally calls, they are very rude.

The parts for my TV were shipped to my neighbors' home, even though I gave the correct address online & on phone.

Was repeatedly told warranty doesn't cover shipping my old tv for replacement, shipped at my own $60 expense across the country & received free shipping label for their FedEx account the next day. I have been inconvenienced with time off work for repairs twice, $60 in shipping costs, and hours waiting on hold- in addition to CSR yelling at me.

I really regret ever having made a major purchase from this company. I just want what I paid for. My replacement is now on 2-4 week backorder now-unacceptable.

Bought a Polaroid TV (model FLM-323B)at WalMart on, 5.9.06. The cost was $950.00 It came with a one year warranty through Polaroid. It quit working on 3.24.07. I called Polaroid and they instructed me to change to fuse next to power cord. I did what they told me and the TV blewup. There was sparks and smoke.

Polaroid sent a local service, Brighton TV & Video, Grand River, Brighton, MI. They picked-up the TV on, 3.27.07. We haven't seen the TV since!!! We did turn this over to the CPSC, becuase we believe this TV to be a fire hazard. The agent, Michelle Grundy, is working on it, but we have little hope there can be anything done.

When we asked to have our money return..we were told by a Polaroid person, that he had never heard of this happening before. But on the other hand, he commented that this is a common ocurrance, with this TV. ???

We have also contacted the Attorney General Office, Consumer Protection Division, AG#200706761, in Michigan and they are also looking into this. They also suggested we look into submitting a claim in small claims court. We feel totally ripoff and would like our money return..because even if the TV is fixed we will never trust that it won't start a fire.

I bought a LCD Polaroid TV 9-04-06 #FLM 323B. In early January turned it on made a sizzle sound and that was the end of it. Since then we have been trying to get Polaroid to fix it since it is under warranty. We call and they say they are trying to find a service provider and call back in 2 or 3 days which we have been. Finally they tell us American TV in Madison, WI. and to call them and they will fix it. Called, but they gave me a FAX number, I looked up the number and called and American said they would charge us 89.00 for the trip plus we would have to pay for repairs and then try and get Polariod to reimburse us. This is unacceptable. Several more phone calls and they still have not found anyone to fix this TV. Its hard to believe an International company can't find any one to fix their defective products.
