I purchased the TV in February 2007, and now, in May 2009, the screen goes blank. I have sound, but the image is gone. If I turn it off and then back on, it works briefly. Also, I have tried unplugging which worked a while longer; but now, that's no longer working. I'm out $800 for one year and a half of TV service!

We purchased a 37" flat panel TV from Walmart in May 2007 for about $800.00. On June 1st, our TV would not turn on. The blue light will turn on, but the screen remained black. We had to unplug it to turn the power off. It will no do anything now, no sound, no picture, just a little blue light. It's frustrating to spend your hard earned money on something that lasts only two year. We are now watching my husband's 13" TV from high school. There is no damage to us, just a huge inconvenience. We cannot afford to have it repaired at this time. I will never recommend Polaroid products.

We too purchased a 37" Polaroid flat screen TV for approximately $800.00 in December of ‘06 that just went out June of ‘09. It started by making a static sound when turned on and picture would be delayed. Then, it would only work if unplugged and plugged back in. Now, the picture will not come on at all. It is very upsetting to have spent that much money on a product that only lasted 2 1/2 years.
I came across this website when I Google searched "Polaroid TV" to see if I could find a way to get it repaired. After reading the ridiculous amount of similar complaints, I suppose we will save the time and energy and not even bother trying to repair it. The only problem is that we will now have to purchase a whole new TV. Guess I'll Google search the next manufacturer to make sure it doesn't take me to this website before I make a purchase. It's frustrating and pathetic that you can't seem to expect anything to be made of good quality anymore.

We purchased a Polaroid 32" flat screen TV with DVD Player from Wal-Mart thinking Polaroid was a good company and long standing. From day one, the DVD player would not play some of my 8-year old grandson's movies but when I would change discs, it would begin playing. We thought it was unusual for it to play some and not the others. This went on until the warranty ran out and then all of a sudden the DVD wouldn't load anything. It always shows "No Disc." I called Polaroid and they said to clean the heads and if that didn't work to order a new DVD player for $100 and put up a $100 deposit until I sent the old one back. Cleaning the heads didn't work. Only one screw holds the DVD Player in so I will be sending it back to them for free as I don't need a piece of junk in my house. Having read all the problems vented here, I now wonder how long the TV will work.

I too bought a 37" Polaroid TV from Wal-Mart for $900 around the beginning of ‘07 and now in May ’09, it crapped out on me. The TV will not turn on. It started acting up with a bad picture, then I had to keep unplugging it, and plugging it back in. Polaroid made a lot of money on this scam. I've always liked their cameras, but I would never buy from them again. I hope the Better Business Bureau can do something about this.

We also purchased a Polaroid television on the Black Friday of 2007 from Wal-Mart. Who would have thought spending $800.00 on a television to last a year and a half? Only our problem is the sound because we have none. Of course, we can have their tech come out and try to fix it for the low price of $225.00 with no guarantee that he can even fix it. Sounds like a deal to me! Something told me not to buy this brand. Maybe Wal-Mart should investigate the products they choose to sell to us consumers who are looking for the "good deal".

I bought a brand new 42inch LCD TV and about three months, it went blank on me. I called Polaroid and told me that they don't fix that model at their location so they gave me Proview Tech phone number. I called them and it took them two months to ship a box. Now, they have my TV and it's been almost one month and they don't return my phone calls at all. I left two messages for Patricia, the supervisor there and no answer at all. I'm just sick of all this rundown they're giving me. I just want them to tell me straight out when can I get my TV back and repaired.

I bought a 37-inch HDTV Dolby Polaroid in 2007 and it stopped working in May 2009. Sound is good but no picture. It does not turn on or off. I have to plug, unplug and play with it but no results at all. I spent $1,400. I bought insurance and nothing has been done. I called customer service for Polaroid and I was kept on hold for 53 minutes, for some agent to come on the line and tell me that they could not help me at all that I had to go back to the store I bought it from. Circuit City does not exist anymore.

I purchased a digital Polaroid TV/DVD combo model #TDX-01930B on 10/14/08. Six months later (04/17/09), while watching a DVD movie, a loud snap occurred and the screen went blank. The disc was also stuck in the built-in player, but with repeated tries, as advised by the manual, it finally came out. I have called the only number (1-888-896-9859) that apparently services this model. When the phone starts ringing after you go through an automated phone menu, no one ever answers. You have to let it ring between 40 to 80 times on over a dozen attempts with no luck. I will stay away from all Polaroid products from here on out, and at every opportunity, advise all family, friends, and acquaintances to do the same.

We purchased a 42" Polaroid LCD TV in December of 2008. In April of '09, it no longer has a picture. I went to their website and called the customer support number. They said they do not handle that particular model and gave me another number to call. I've called for one week and no one ever answers! I have let it ring for over one hundred rings. I called back to the other number and they said they have been receiving complaints about that call center and to just wait on the line when I call them! I am outraged that a company can rob you of your hard-earned money! The TV isn't even 6 months old and I can't get anyone to help me. Do not buy a Polaroid product! There is no customer service. I cannot believe that this company is treating their customers like this. Where do I go for help?

We purchased a Polaroid 37-inch TV and, after about 9 months, it started buzzing and the picture was flashing on and off for the first 15 minutes of use, then it started not coming on at all until I unplugged it and plugged it back in several times. Then, it started to just display color bars all across the screen. I tried to contact the company by email without any results. As many complaints that I have read, we need to get together and file a class action against this damn company. This just isn't right.

I purchased a Polaroid TV with built-in DVD player about 2 or 3 months ago. The DVD no longer works, says it's loading but doesn't. I called Polaroid. The phone rang for about 15 to 20 minutes before someone answered. He seemed to know exactly what the problem was and said he would email me with an address and confirmation number, and then I was supposed to fax my sales receipt to him and box up and ship the TV to Walnut, California.
I said that would cost a lot to ship an item that large and were they going to pay for shipping? He said no, but that they would repair and pay return shipping. I decided to forget it because shipping a large heavy package to CA and back, it probably wouldn't make it back in one piece, and so far the TV still works. I will never purchase a Polaroid product again and probably never buy from Wal-Mart either. I hope there is a lawsuit; count me in.

We bought a Polaroid LCD/DVD combo model #TDX-03211C. We have not had it for 6 months when the DVD player quit working. We have repeatedly tried to call Polaroid for help or to order a part to fix it and cannot get a hold of anyone. After several attempts at contacting Polaroid, we called the Walmart store where we purchased it. They gave us the same number that we have been trying and said they could not and would not assist us anymore. I feel violated by this company. For a company that has been around for as long as Polaroid has been, I am absolutely disgusted by the lack of support and the neglect that we have suffered from this company. I bought a 26-inch flat screen TV/DVD combo and had the exact same problem as many, many others have had. I bought the TV and it worked great for 5 months. I turned the TV off before going to bed and now I have no picture and no sound. The store where I purchased it from won't take it back because it's been over 90 days. When I tried contacting Polaroid about the warranty, no one will answer the phone. I am so frustrated. It is ridiculous to spend $550.00 on a TV and only have it last for 5 months. Something should be done about this company.

I purchased a Polaroid 40 LCD television in July 2008. After a short while, the TV was buzzing loudly and getting hot. Their repair person came to my home and said he would notify them of the problem, and they should replace the television. Well he did not and I waited patiently for a while. I then called ProView myself. We returned the television, received it back about 3 weeks later and the problem was not solved. The television has been sent back for the third time for the same problem. This time, they have it for a month already. When you call the above mentioned phone number, there is no answer.

I purchased a 46" flat screen TV made by Polaroid a year and a half ago. Two nights ago, I turned the TV off before going to sleep and yesterday morning it would not turn back on. The blue light came on and I heard a click, but there was no picture. Last night I messed with it a little bit and unplugged the cord from the back of the TV, and finally was able to get a picture. Last night before going to bed I turned it off, and today the same thing happened; only now, the picture won't come back on no matter what I do with it. The blue light is still on and I hear the click, but no picture at all. After reading many of the other complaints that are related to this I am disturbed as to why Polaroid has not fixed this problem or had a recall on it.

I have a 40" Polaroid LCD that we have had for less than two years (20 months). The TV started acting funny by making a buzzing sound when you first turned it on and it would eventually go away. This problem progressively got worse. Then it got to where, when you turned on the TV, there was no picture, just a ton of colors. That happened about twice and then the TV stopped completely. It would not respond to any buttons you pressed. We had to unplug the TV in order for it to quit making the raging buzzing sound. I paid 1200 dollars for this piece and it should have worked for longer than 2 years!

My 2-year old 37 LCD model 3732 Polaroid TV started acting up a few weeks ago. While reading the letters on your site, I found I was not the only person having a problem. My TV would not power up unless I unplugged it then turned it back on a few times. After a few weeks, it would not work unless I unplugged it numerous times, then it would not come on at all. I decided to have a TV service look at it for me. His diagnosis was 2 defective capacitors in the power supply and the total cost of my repair was $329.49 (2 capacitors - $7.98, technical services - $200.00, pick up and delivery - $49.95, diagnostic fee - $50.00, tax - $21.56). Needless to say, I will never purchase any Polaroid again. After having the work done, my TV is working good now.

We bought a 37 inch LCD HD TV made by Polaroid 2 years ago. When the TV is turned on a loud shrieking noise is heard and the screen goes nuts! There is no use of the controls on it when this occurs. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it. My brother in law bought one the same time I bought mine and his did the same thing six months ago. I looked into this and realized that I am not alone when it comes to this issue with Polaroid TV. They regret the issue but will do nothing about correcting it without me shelling out $300 plus. I have been having an ongoing problem with this company. A 37 LCD that I purchased broke (under a year)back in February. It has now been 4 weeks and upon calling for the status, I have now been told that the TV is on backorder and it will be another 2-4 weeks!!!!
We spent $1,000 dollars for this TV. We have spent weeks of waiting and jumping through hoops and had to purchase and old used TV in the meantime. Purchased a 37 inch Hi-Def LCD flat panel TV in 2-07, TV was a total failure on 1-1-08. After 3 attempts to replace the defective part the TV still did not work. No picture or sound, unit would not even turn on. Feb 26th it was agreed I would receive a new TV. The TV was on back order and they said it could take 10 to 15 business days for me to receive my TV. I called daily and spoke with customer support as well as their supervisors. I got the same thing EVERY TIME! I will send an emailand the tv is still on back order that is all I heard daily.
Not one time, after 4 promises to return my call after getting an update, did I receive a call back. I filed a complaint with the BBB, and contacted my local TV stations troubleshooter to help resolve this issue. I was repetedly told by Polaroid that they were within their 10 to 14 day period to still provide me a tv. Note: This was Polaroids policy and I did not agree with or accept this condition. 3-14-06 I called customer support and was told that the TV was still on back order and guess what...they would send an email to see why the delay which could take 2 to 3 days for a response. Unnaceptable. I contacted Brit Moore at the corporate office AGAIN (the first time his secratery returned my call, we are now 1 returned call to 4 not returned)
It is also important to note that the secratery said she would call me back THE SAME DAY which was 3-13-08 to give me a status update. SHE FAILED TO RETURN MY CALL! 3-14-08 Mr. Moore answered my call and said a TV was being released to me TODAY!!!!!!!!
I said that I either get it on 3-15-08 or we go to small claims court, that simple. He told me he would call and upgrade the shipping to overnight instead of two day and that I will have a 40 in. TV on Friday which will be 3-15-08. Two and a half months AFTER they were aware of their equipment failure. We will see.
Two and a half months of HD programing that I paid for through my local satellite provider that I was unable to watch. PLUS I am out nearly 60 bucks for the extended warranty I purchased for a 37 inch television through my place of purchase.

Upon calling the company, he was told that they would need to resend the part which is on back order for 2-4 weeks and then another technician would be dispatched (also another 2-4 weeks after that).
The Sears technician told me that this is a very common problem with Polaroid TVs, and in fact because of this they no longer are selling this brand of TV. He also informed me that the next part most likely will not work, and I would be sent a new TV which would also take a few more weeks. I contacted Customer service to find out if anything else could be done and was told that they have protocols that had to be followed. They said they may be able to get someone out here sooner if they use a returned part that comes in. I feel that waiting 8 weeks for another defective product is excessive. I understand that it is just a TV, but it was a major purchase for my family. I feel that if there is no way to resolve this in a more timely manner, I should be given either a refund or a replacement TV. They know that this part is defective.
Other than having to purchase an old TV for $50, just to have something to watch for the next 8 weeks, our major problem is the hassle and run around we are getting from this company. We spent over $900 dollars for this TV.

It took them 1 month to send this guy after long arguement with them.
The guy came and said there is manufactural defect. I spoke with the company again and since the TV is under manufacture warranty.
They said they have to send another one to take another look it took them another month to send the second guy who said the TV doesn't work and they should a new one.
I called Polaroid again at 866-289-5168
The manager said they are going to send a new TV and they apologize for the delay it's been 4 months by now and I'm still waiting.

I bought a Polaroid TV Model #1511TLXB in November 2007. On January 14, 2008 the TV stopped working. I called, received an RMA number as it is on warranty and proceeded to ship it back on my dime on 1/21/2008. I have yet to receive an answer from Polaroid when they will be shipping a new set. They either tell me that it has gone to the warehouse to be shipped or they still have the part on backorder. They have been saying this since Feb 5, 2008. I have talked to various customer service people and from what I can tell, nothing is happening and they are just biding their time till I do not call anymore. I looked online and their seem to be many people who have encountered Polariod's lack of response.
I am out $200 some dollars and Polariod has not honored it's warranty. At this point I will have to go spend up to $299 to replace this set as I believe they have no intention of replacing it.

I returned a broken TV under warranty in November 2007. After waiting 4-6 weeks for a replacement TV and not getting one, I finally settled with one of the managers that I would just like my refund back since my original TV was in backorder and was taking much too long to get to me. The manager (Joe) agreed to provide the refund as long as I provided a copy of the receipt. I faxed it over mid-January and called to confirm if they received it (which they did). After waiting 15 business days, I received nothing in the mail so I called to follow up on the status of my refund. They said if I do not receive anything by the 1st week of February to please give them a call. I did, and when I called they told me they needed another copy of the receipt since the one they received was inapplicable.
I was frustrated at this point because they already told me my refund was on it's way, and then I find out they needed another copy of the receipt. I sent that one via fax AND email, and the very next day and I confirmed with not one, but 2 managers, for confirmation of receipt.
Now after waiting 10 more business days, I still have not received anything in the mail. After doing yet ANOTHER follow-up, I am being told that they need another receipt. And now they are saying that I might not get the refund after all. This is ridiculous because I have a voicemail they left on my phone stating that they have received all the necessary documents in order to process my refund and that it will be taken care of. I am beyond frustrated, and all I want is my refund, with this problem resolved. I would also like to know if I am liable for any type of compensation as this has been going on for over 3 months now, and I am at loss for the refund of $400.00 that is due and payable to me.
Above anything else I am stressed out from having to continually follow-up with the call center without having this issue resolved. I'm very frustrated with Polaroid's customer service center. I've been getting the run-around and was told different things and promised my refund numerous times since the beginning of this year with no resolution. This is not the way to do business.

I bought a lcd tv Dec 5, 2006 and it worked fine until Aug 11 when after I turned it on and it went dead. We called to report it on the 12th and they said they knew what was wrong and a part would be sent out in 3-5 days. Called after the fifth day and they said the part was on back order it would be 4-6 weeks. Have called 3 times and they still tell me the part is on the way,( by a slow boat from China).
This was all to the 1 866 2895168 number it said to call for repair.
Then I called the main number at Polaroid 781 3862000 and they gave me the consumer product number 18006055364
First day I got answering machines, next day I talked to a guy named Britt and he gave me this story of putting my name on the front of the list, wonder how many he told that to. I told him to send me a new set I'd send him mind, said he couldn't do that as he didn't have any.
Next day I returned the call from Dan who I had left the message with the first time. I ask him if they weren't making the 37in anymore and he said no.
Said they may have to send me a 40in if there parts didn't get in. Its now been another week and no news one way or the other. I still don't have a Tv.

7 month old TV took 2 repair attempts and 2 months before replacement was authorized. Customer service number always has over 30 min wait, have been on hold up to 3 hours, cannot get email customer service either. When customer service finally calls, they are very rude.
The parts for my TV were shipped to my neighbors' home, even though I gave the correct address online & on phone.
Was repeatedly told warranty doesn't cover shipping my old tv for replacement, shipped at my own $60 expense across the country & received free shipping label for their FedEx account the next day. I have been inconvenienced with time off work for repairs twice, $60 in shipping costs, and hours waiting on hold- in addition to CSR yelling at me.
I really regret ever having made a major purchase from this company. I just want what I paid for. My replacement is now on 2-4 week backorder now-unacceptable.

Refund the $60 delivery charge I was misinformed that I'd be responsible for & please get me a working tv! With a new warranty because the product won't last a year & better service when it breaks again. I want a comparable model replacement last month.I have waited long enough.

Bought a Polaroid TV (model FLM-323B)at WalMart on, 5.9.06. The cost was $950.00 It came with a one year warranty through Polaroid. It quit working on 3.24.07. I called Polaroid and they instructed me to change to fuse next to power cord. I did what they told me and the TV blewup. There was sparks and smoke.
Polaroid sent a local service, Brighton TV & Video, Grand River, Brighton, MI. They picked-up the TV on, 3.27.07. We haven't seen the TV since!!! We did turn this over to the CPSC, becuase we believe this TV to be a fire hazard. The agent, Michelle Grundy, is working on it, but we have little hope there can be anything done.
When we asked to have our money return..we were told by a Polaroid person, that he had never heard of this happening before. But on the other hand, he commented that this is a common ocurrance, with this TV. ???
We have also contacted the Attorney General Office, Consumer Protection Division, AG#200706761, in Michigan and they are also looking into this. They also suggested we look into submitting a claim in small claims court. We feel totally ripoff and would like our money return..because even if the TV is fixed we will never trust that it won't start a fire.

I bought a LCD Polaroid TV 9-04-06 #FLM 323B. In early January turned it on made a sizzle sound and that was the end of it. Since then we have been trying to get Polaroid to fix it since it is under warranty. We call and they say they are trying to find a service provider and call back in 2 or 3 days which we have been. Finally they tell us American TV in Madison, WI. and to call them and they will fix it. Called, but they gave me a FAX number, I looked up the number and called and American said they would charge us 89.00 for the trip plus we would have to pay for repairs and then try and get Polariod to reimburse us. This is unacceptable. Several more phone calls and they still have not found anyone to fix this TV. Its hard to believe an International company can't find any one to fix their defective products.
