We received a WD 52525 as a wedding gift four years ago. The first lamp burned out before the 1 year warranty expired. We thought it was odd but then again the factory lamp may have been bad we thought. About a year after, the second lamp went and cost us about 400.00 dollars to replace. That is what we have been dealing with year after year. We recently installed our fifth lamp (in a 4 year old TV) after having the fourth work only for a few months. We have now come to find out that we have bad capacitors on the power supply PC board. The cost of repairs and parts for this is over $1,000. The TV cost $3,000 new and it has cost us almost that much to watch it for four years.

We spent over $3000 on a Mitsubishi TV less than 4 years ago. The lamp burned out within the first year. Now the TV keeps shutting off, getting a message saying the airflow is blocked - which is not. And just this morning, the TV shut off 3 times, the lamp light was on! Again? Are you kidding me? Is somebody going to help the hundreds of consumers with this same issue? What a ripoff! The consequences I'm facing from buying this TV are financially-related! I spent over $3000 on a TV only to replace parts in less than a year. And we're talking parts that cost hundreds! What a joke!

I have a WD62827, which I was told by the salesperson was the best on the market in 2006. After 4 years use, I have been told it will cost $1,200 to replace the light engine, mirror came unglued and the main electrical panel. I would advise anyone considering a Mitsubishi TV to not purchase one. Their quality and customer relations is terrible.

I spent almost $3000 on a Mitsubishi 52" DLP TV. Before the first year was up, I had to have the light engine replaced shortly after lamp was replaced which should have lasted a lot longer. It worked fine for a year and a half, then another lamp replacement was needed. Now the TV started getting colored lines then the green light stays on and won't turn on.
While researching the problems, I found out that a lot of other people are having the same issues with Mitsubishi TVs. Should there not be a product recall? Or a class action suit? The company should stand behind the product they sell. Most people cannot afford to spend $3000 on a TV and need to replace it within a few years. Something needs to be done about this issue!

I have owned my 62" DLP Mitsubishi TV since July of 2005. Since then, I have bought 3 lamps and had the chasis replaced by a Mitsubishi technician and the TV still doesn't work. Now I'm told the driver could be out on it. If these TVs only last 4.5 years, that is a joke for the $3,000 I spent. Someone please hold these jokers accountable. There must be a class action lawsuit by now.

On 10/5/05, I purchased a Mitsubishi WD-52527 for $2,499. On 10/18/07 (three years later), I had to replace the light box and lamp. Having worked for RCA, I knew that if I complained about it, Mitsubishi would do something. They cut the price on the new assembly $100. Now, the lamp warning light has come on and I will have to purchase a new assembly again sometime soon. The second one now has lasted me two and a half years. That means that since the set was delivered to my house in 10/05, I will now be on my 3rd light box in 4/10!

I purchased my Mitsubishi TV about three years ago. My husband and I deliberately choose Mitsubishi since we had such great luck with our old console Mitsubishi. After only a couple of weeks, the lamp went out. We were told that it had probably been damaged in the store and they graciously sent another lamp at no cost to us.
After about 6 months, the new lamp also goes. We had been told by the representative in the store and the Mitsubishi representative on the phone that the lamps should last for about five years. My husband and I packed up the TV and brought it back to the store. They replaced the entire TV and we again went with Mitsubishi.
After getting this new TV home, the lamp has gone three times and we are today looking to replace a fourth lamp. Customer service for Mitsubishi could not have been any more pleasant any time I have spoken to them but they have no solutions and they certainly are of no help. I was told last time that I had to replace the lamp and then wait to see how long it lasted in order for them to entertain the thought of maybe reimbursing me.
What? I had a tech come to the house that replaced the lamp for me one time and he informed me that the bulb does not last that long and that I must watch too much TV. I have three kids that are all in school full time and play two sports so there is very little time during the week and even less time on the weekends to watch. My husband and I work very hard and to have to pay 250.00 annually to keep up a TV is absolutely absurd.

I bought a Mitsubishi DLP 65 in Jan. of 2008 with warranty. Only 2 years in this TV started having lamp indicator light coming on. Called for lamp replacement and had it replaced in store. 5 months later the lamp is out again. I bought this TV to watch, not to replace lamp. I have not had issue with my previous Sony products. Unless Mitsubishi is doing something about their "unreliable pieces of trash they are making", I will just have to get rid of this trash and tell all my many, many cousins (over 50 heads of household), friends, co-workers, classmates, church goers, and neighbor communities about the junks Mitsubishi is making.

I've had this TV for 1 year and 4 months. Just out of warranty. I experienced the TV going in and out of normal picture color. Finally, it went out completely. I thought it was the lamp, but the technician for the shop told me it was the color wheel? 400.00 dollars later, I got my TV back and hope something else doesn't go wrong. I won't buy another Mit product, period!

I bought a 73" Mitsubishi TV, 734 Series, Dec. 2009 for my husband. He is disabled and watches a lot of TV and the big screen was perfect, or so we thought. Less than a year later, white and black specks started showing up on the screen. It started off just a few then they became numerous, to the point we could no longer watch the picture. It is now sitting in my dining room on the floor. We had a repairman come out and he said it needed an optical light engine. He said the cost was over $1,000 plus labor. After paying over $2,000 for the TV, this is unacceptable. When we called Mitsubishi, we were told we were no longer under warranty. So what do we do now? If someone will file a class action suit, please add my name.

I bought a 72-inch Mitsubishi 2 years ago and before the warranty was up, I had to order a lamp. I watch TV only in the evening for a couple of hours. I was told the lamp would last for at least 3 years. This is absurd. My other TV was a Panasonic 32-inch, the old heavy kind of TV that I bought new 10 years ago just this year went out. I have never had any trouble with it and it lasted 10 years. I never replaced one part on it or had any service calls at all. I would like to know why Mitsubishi does not make a part that lasts longer. I wished I would have researched Mitsubishi before I bought my TV
The stories are nightmares. I am on a fixed income and the TV although watched sparingly, is my only source of entertainment. I am sad that Mitsubishi is trying to scam people. They could make a part that lasts 10 years but they choose to rip people off by putting in inferior parts so that the people will be forced to buy new ones. My friend is a frail older man that bought a 65-inch TV only 3 years ago and only watches the news at lunch and in the evenings. His lamp lasted only 3 years but was off the warranty and now he has to buy a new lamp. No telling what will go bad even after that. He may choose not to buy one as it is so expensive.
What ever happened to TVs that lasted for 10 years without a problem. I am ashamed of the greed these companies enforce. Yes, they enforce greed and we are the ones having to pay through the nose for their greed. I thought Mitsubishi was a reputable company, but I will never buy a product from them again. I am so sad. If my lamp or any other repairs occur again, I will simply have to live without. It is a shame that Mitsubishi is doing this, a real shame and I hope they realize that they cannot keep treating their customers like this.
This has caused me much stress and I am not looking forward to replacing other parts because I can't. I will simply have to forget about TV altogether and just look forward to reading. I cannot afford to buy books but I can certainly check books out at the local library. I just thank God that I love to read. I cannot afford to go to a lawyer about this, but I do want something to be done. I am praying that if Mitsubishi gets enough complaints, they will start making TVs to last at least 10 years without any kind of breakdown.
For people like myself, that would mean the world. For everyone that has had trouble with Mitsubishi, they should replace their TV with one that lasts a decent amount of time like my 32-inch Panasonic that lasted for 10 years without one thing going wrong. Mitsubishi produces quantity, not quality. It is a shame, a low down shame. I am sad in my heart that they have no qualms about cheating people.

I have had my 2009 Lancer for a year and half now. I bought it brand new. Sure enough a few months into owing it, I noticed paint chips by the passenger doors/rear quarter panel. I took it to the dealership advised this doesn’t seem right. They said road conditions are not covered under warranty. I explained the vehicle I traded was a pickup truck 2000 that had over 200,000 kms. I drove the same roads and it hardly had any chips! So I have taken it to Mitsubishi Canada to see what they can do. Paint chips to rear quarter panels, hood, trunk; it’s a joke the paint almost peels right off. I want my car to be fixed. It’s not the consumers fault that Mitsubishi uses cheap paint that can’t withstand. "Best backed cars in the world?” We will see about that.

We bought this TV, because we had had a 60" Mitsubishi for about 10 years with no problem. We will most certainly never buy another Mitsubishi product again. In addition, when I e-mailed Mitsubishi, they said the maximum lamp life is 2 years and that they're sorry about the light engine. Nice.

We bought a Mitsubishi 62-inch TV (model wd62525). We had problems from the beginning. Shortly after getting the TV in March of 05 the whole inside had to be replaced. We've replaced the bulb 3-4 times which was covered under warranty ($500) and had to have someone come to clean is 4-5 times ($100/time). Our warranty ran out on March 8th and our TV started having trouble on the 14th.
What luck! After the TV has been on for a few minutes (about 10-15) it starts flashing brightly and the color goes out. I was told that Mitsubishi was a good brand, but now I'm not so sure from what I've been reading about reviews. I wish we would have known this earlier. We are now trying to get a hold of them to see how to get this problem fixed. We were once told by a tech that there was a recall on this TV. I haven't found anything online yet, but I'm searching.

I purchased WD-52525 in June 2005. This TV has been a problem for me since day 1. The lamp has failed 3 times, and after the first lamp, the TV died. Service company picked it up and had it for 6 weeks. It has never been the same since the day he delivered it back to me. The picture runs downhill to the left, and the color has never been good even after 2 more lamps.
Now after replacing the lamp, the indicator for bulb replacement stays on all the time and Mitsubishi service tech assisted by phone trying to extinguish it. I paid good money for the TV and Mitsubishi should refund or replace the TV if they have one that works. I have read all the complaints and there are pages which blows my mind that they will not do anything about these bad TVs.

I purchased my Mitsubishi projection TV model #WD-52531 (52") in late 2006 or early 2007 from ABC Warehouse. The TV worked great until around the summer of 2009, when I started getting lamp lights on the TV. I had trouble turning on, especially when warm. By keeping the TV set on low power, I was able to make the original lamp last until the end of Dec 2009. When I finally got a solid red light on the TV, it would no longer turn on even after a reset. I purchased a new lamp and housing (part #915P043010) from a distributor called Vann's off the web for $230. Very carefully vacuumed, blew and cleaned all dust from back of television and lamp socket area. Carefully installed the new lamp being extremely careful not to touch the glass, as instructed.
The TV turned on and worked great. Less than 8 weeks later, I am already getting the lamp light indicators flashing. The TV won't turn on, even when cool. It seemed to work okay a couple days after using the "reset" feature, but is now again repeating the same symptoms of a burnt lamp. Vann's (distributor) directed me to call Mitsubishi Warranty department, then Mitsubishi told me to contact the distributor. What a joke. I am out $230 for a lamp that is no good and $1000 for a TV that lasted 3 years. I'll never buy another Mitsubishi TV again.

This TV is the worst one I have ever owned. It has been in the shop 6 times in the 3 years I have owned it. First, they said it was too much duct that caused bulb to fail. Next, it was watched TV too much; "bulb has only 2000 hour life span". Of course, it's usually around Superbowl time or the World Series. No bulb I've replaced has lasted more than 6 months, sometimes as little as four months. One time I was told there was recall, so I took it in again, and again in 5 months, the bulb goes. Mitsubishi will do nothing to "make good" on this problem. The green timer light keeps flashing and the TV will not turn on. I purchased it five years and two month ago. The technician states that chassis needs to be completely rebuilt at a price of $490. It has faulty connectors and I saw them; they are not flat but bowed out. This seems to be a wide-spread problem with this TV and Mitsubishi should consider a recall. The consequences are financial plus the fact that it takes approximately a month or more to get the rebuilt chassis back.

I paid $4000 or so for this unit. Surely, this was just a fluke. But no! This week, I got a steady red flash. The manual simply said turn off the TV and call a service provider. Are you kidding me? And you get sucked in and don't want to give up. After all, you invested $4000 that you are throwing down the toilet. You think that surely this will be the last repair. Why should there be any? I have been researching complaints about different makes of televisions and it appears that none of them are any good. Some man wrote in that he should have bought a Sony instead of his Philips because he had a Sony that was 20 years old. Well, duh! 20 years ago, companies were putting out quality products. We took delivery of two Mitsubishi WD-52525 televisions in March 2006 for our new home. About 6 months ago, we started experiencing issues with one that only has about 40 hours of total play time since 2006. (This TV was in an entertainment area upstairs that is rarely used, thus we rarely ever turn that TV on). In particular, we consistently get the "blinking green timer light" that comes on and the TV will not reset or turn on. We are now starting to have the issue with our other one which acts as our primary television in our living room.
Unfortunately, when I got frustrated enough this morning to see if others were having issues on the Web, my Google search returned page after page of blogs/documentation/etc. mirroring my issues. Each TV was on sale (unfortunately, I now know why) for approximately $2600, so total expenditure of $5200 plus 8.25% sales tax. If nothing else, Mitsubishi needs to be held accountable for defective product and unsuspecting buyers should be aware of Mitsubishi's poor quality (i.e. like putting the pharmaceutical industry's dreaded black box warning on a medication to effectively kill the brand).

I could have paid him $600-$800 to have repaired but I was told that problem would eventually happen again.
There should have been a recall on these TV's. I know there are class action law suits (ie. California) but it should have to come to this. Mitsubishi needs to step up and either fix, if possible, or refund money. I tried to sell it today to company and they said they aren't offering any money for these TV's due to the problems. Now I am going to have to recycle! I can't describe how upset I'm with this. We bough the Mitsubishi 57 inch DLP Model # WD-57731 in December 2006. All was well until March 2009. The TV just shut off. First, the yellow light, then the green light kept flashing. Initially, it would stay on for a few minutes, then a few seconds, then it would not come on at all. When I called Best Buy where I purchased the TV, they told me it was probably the lamp because it's a very common issue with this TV. Our 1st lamp was free. We picked it up and installed it ourselves. We thought, "Okay, that was easy, we should be good for a few more years." Wrong! In August 2006, the same thing started happening again. Well, we knew it couldn't be the lamp. Keeping in mind we only watch the TV a couple hours a day.
So we called Best Buy again. They sent a repair man out and he said it was the sensor. These TV's were made with the lamp so close to the sensor that the sensor reads hot and it shuts off. He put in "the newly issued" sensor supplied by Mitsubishi and went on his way. I swear he got maybe down the street and guess what. The TV shut off while we were watching it. He came back, looked again and said that he had not tightened the lamp door well enough. Okay, so now 4 months later, our TV is shutting off once again. It's doing the exact same thing as before. Now the yellow light is flashing. It may stay on for 15 minutes, then shuts off. There is plenty of ventilation around our TV, there is minimal dust.

I purchased WD-52725 in 2005. Everything went well for a few years, then in 2008 green/pink diagonal lines across screen and the green blinking light syndrome. Now it won’t even turn on. I paid thousands for a high end TV that only lasted 3-plus years. The company should fix these issues or issue a voucher for purchase of new set.

I purchased a 62-inch screen Mitsubishi WD-62525 TV about 4 years ago, and to be honest I was not aware of the problems concerning this TV that I have been recently reading about. After I replaced the lamp in the TV it was working fine. Then one day the red light started flashing and the TV would not come on at all. The TV repairman quoted me a price of $800 to fix it, stating that this is a common problem with all these flat screen TVs. He said that the power supply was out and it could only be replaced and not fixed.
I paid $3500 for this 62-inch screen TV thinking it would last for at least 10 years like my older 27-inch TV has. But this older gentleman has convinced me that it is not worth paying good money for these newer models as they are not worth it. By the way, I will not be fixing this TV. For what? So that it can just go out again? I believe the manufacturers know about these problems and know that they can make more money off of replacement parts or new purchases.

It’s been fixed at a cost of $700 and now, four months later, needs the same fix at the same cost. Many, many people have had the same exact problem as well as others with the Mitsubishi DLP TVs. Mitsubishi extended the optical engine coverage to 3 years, but we are out as of March 2009. We are still paying for TV. We cannot even afford to replace the bulb right now, and with a known defect, Mitsubishi told us, “Sorry, it’s out of warranty.” Now we have a humongous dust collector sitting on my living room/still making payments and watching the TV out of my camper instead. After several visits from the repair, we got it squared away. Fast forward to 12-09 and now the real trouble arrives. The TV starts with the blinking green light problem. It won't do anything but green light blink. The warranty is 2 months expired (how nice is that?) and the repair suggested (after 5 hours of my time) that it is a waste of time and money. It happened many times in the past and would stop after 24 hours of pressing the reset until it just did not come on again. I contacted a service rep for Mitsubishi and was told that it will cost approx. $800 to repair. I contacted Mitsubishi and was told that it is a factory defect and that they would help with the repairs, which means that they will only cover the part and the rest I have to pay for.
I don't think anyone should have to pay to repair a TV with a factory defect after they paid so much money for it. The product is a "lemon" and for that, Mitsubishi should recall it, cover the entire cost of the repair, give you a new TV, or issue you a full refund so we could buy something that will work and last a long time. I know that with this economy many people have lost their jobs and those that haven't cannot afford to throw away money in a product that is not a good product but a junk. We now can't get it to go back on sometimes for hours.
After reading the log, knowing full well that even if we put money into trying to fix it, we will get the same results as everyone else which is pouring money into a TV that can't be fixed, so we will take the loss (most we've ever paid for a TV or any appliance), junk this expensive TV and never buy another Mitsubishi product. Now the set has ghost/silver images over the entire TV viewing picture which looks terrible. And now I'm told I need a new internal motor. The TV is less than 2 years old and not watched very much, except in the evenings and on weekends. And now I need a new over-priced motor. Also, the status light now shuts the TV off every 5-7 minutes because it thinks the TV is overheating.
This Mitsubishi DLP WD-73831 73-in Diamond Series TV was not ready for prime time, and it is being sold every day. I've been looking again at TVs, and I notice that this TV is now being offered at half the price I paid for it. And I wonder why? It's a defective product that cannot sustain regular usage. Please note: All the Mitsubishi parts are just temporary and will need to be replaced on a regular basis at extraordinary prices and service fees. If you want to live like that, then buy a Mitsubishi.

I purchased a WD62525 Mitsubishi Television in September 2006, great TV, great picture. I spent over $5,000.00 at the time of purchase. In December 2007, it had a problem with a flashing green light then the TV went out. No Power. The place I purchased the TV from, the Big Screen TV Store referred me to a third party Mitsubishi service provider to fix the TV, which took a little over a month. We increased the warranty to a 5-year contract for $500.00 (equivalent to the price of a bulb) to ensure full service component coverage going forward. Approximately a year later, another service failure occurred and we ended up purchasing another replacement bulb. Despite the change of the bulb, this did not solve the problem. After several repeated attempts to get Mitsubishi to honor the warranty and multiple attempts to gain assistance from the Big Screen Store and non response from the third party service company, we were informed that the warranty that was purchased was not valid.
I did search on the brand via the Internet and found that other consumers had also complained to Mitsubishi about the same problem without any solution. We exchanged info in the user groups in an effort to fix and solve the problem to no avail. Some have suggested (the members in the user group) contacting Mitsubishi for resolution or perhaps filing a class action suit, given the fact that these devices experience the same blue/green screen death at around the same time in their product life cycle. This is indeed a known defect. There should be some favorable recourse available to the hundreds of consumers who have been financially damaged by these TV sets. How can we remedy this situation because they are certainly in a position to do something. I have already put in too much hours and hundreds of dollars and refuse to put any more effort into this matter. However, I still want it fixed. Please include my complaint along with the many others regarding this matter on the Mitsubishi WD62525. Should your office or the FTC decide to take some action, please notify me so that they can understand that you cannot just dump these defective products in the market without any consequences.

My correspondence has gone unacknowledged and the receipts I sent for March 2009 were returned to sender/unable to forward (I don't know what happened to receipts I sent before that). I have contacted Mitsubishi about these problems numerous times and I was instructed by Mitsubishi to contact the company that processes gas vouchers, MDC Group Inc., Attn: Katie ** 888.851.0466 who is also not returning my phone calls. I called Mitsubishi again for answers as they should honor their promotions or, at the very least, credit their customers account for the $600 promised to those that followed their instructions. It seems as though crediting customers account is much more cost-effective than facing a class action lawsuit.

I own a big-screen TV - a Mitsubishi 73727 DLP which I purchased from Midway Appliance Co. in Victorville, Ca. in September of 2005 - $4000.00 with a $250.00 5-year extended warranty. In May of 2008 the picture started going bad. I contacted Midway Appliance service and was referred to Network Video Services in Placentia, Ca., an authorized Mitsubishi service center. Meanwhile I discovered from the Mitsubishi website warranty window that the model of TV that I own, along with others, were discovered to have LIGHT ENGINE problems, and the repair of these would be covered by a limited extended warranty.
Now, on June 4th a tech. from Network Video came to my home to verify the problem, which he did. On July 21st they picked up the TV to take to their shop for repair after arrival of parts. 47 days later, the TV was delivered back to me on July 28th. The original problem was indeed repaired and my TV looked beautiful. Here's the problem: A noise, a motor noise now emanates from within the TV. A noise that I consider to be much too loud for a television set. (I do speak from first-hand knowledge of TV's, being that I've been in the home audio/video, home theater business for the last 12 years or so.) I complained about the noise to Network Video. After several conversations I was told by Network the noise is normal for the light engines they received for replacement and they can do nothing about it.
I then contacted Mitsubishi Electric consumer relations. After several conversations, I was informed that they were aware of the noise but that it was deemed within allowable limits. After some pondering, I contacted Mitsubishi again to request technical data concerning allowable limits because I have the means and knowledge to conduct sound/noise level tests myself. C.A. tech. Julio could not provide me this info. I was told they could send a tech from Network Video again but if their conclusion remained the same I would be charged for the service call.
I need your help! I want my TV repaired properly or replaced. Can you help?

Again I called to have it repaired and CB Joe came out on 9/26/07 to do ANOTHER recall for THE SAME ISSUE - modify LT connector and it was functional until the lamp failed on 12/11/07. I know this is just a protocol issue and that they know exactly what is going on. They will reimburse me 20% of the repair cost but no labor and/or other cost associated with this repair. I think they should be held completely responsible for all cost and more. They should have a total recall on this product as they know that the engineering and design of the circuit boards cause the units to shut down, lose picture imaging and other vital operational capabilities as a result. They know this and still continued to sell these units to the public and have not been held accountable for this fraudulent activity. These sets cost over $3,000.00 and should be considered a felony. Within an hour after contacting them the Service Co called and said they would replace the lamp again. The last lamp lasted 39 days. I have contacted the company that I purchased the TV from for a replacement or a refund for evidently after reading all of the complaints about this brand of TV for the same problem (LAMP) they are not telling the public the truth about this product.
This is a widespread problem and yet when you purchase the TV they tell you it should only need one bulb in a 5-year period. That is what the service contract covers is: one replacement in 5 years. If they had told all of the consumers the truth about the lamps they would not have purchased these televisions. When you spend $3000 and up on a TV you expect it to last longer than 12 months to 24 months. I have had an RCA projection TV that has not needed any repairs at all that is 7 years old. We have tried everything (Reset, unplugging for days). It has been diagnosed as having a DM module problem. From all our estimates, this will cost around $1,000 plus. We purchased the Mitsubishi brand because of its name and reliability. We cannot believe that the TV is already broken after four years. We have a Sony that has lasted 12 years with no issues.
No one at Mitsubishi will take responsibility - No response. There are pages and pages of issues similar to ours on the internet for Mitsubishi big screen TV. Clearly, this is an issue with Mitsubishi. It is not just my set that has this issue. I am requesting management to review my case to have my TV fixed by Mitsubishi. I want Mitsubishi to pay for the repair and part. I did not pay $2.699.00 for a brand name TV and have it go out in four years. I should not have to pay for a warranty on a reliable name as Mitsubishi. The name should stand for itself. I want a quick resolution to this.
We would be out the $2,700+ we paid for the TV if we don't fix the TV. If we fixed the TV we would be spending $1,000 or more on top of the original price of $2,700. The TV is totally worthless without a new DM monitor. We want Mitsubishi to replace this defective TV with a new one or at least replace the DM module with one that works. Was told it was the Air Flow sensor. They sent Superior Electronics to the house to fix it. He put a new Air Flow sensor in & left(without correctly hooking back up any of our equipment).
April 07, same problem, new repairman sent to house. Was told the wires were not hooked up right for the new sensor. He says it's fixed, and he leaves. October 2007, for an unbelievable 3rd time, the Air flow sensor error message was happening again. I called Circuit City for my extended warranty coverage, and told them if they can't fix this, I want a new TV, not one made by Mitsubishi. They sent a CC tech out. He informs me all the Mitsubishi TVs have this problem. It is not the air flow sensor but rather the wire leading to the air flow sensor is too close to the hot bulb so it turns off. He moved the wires around, sodered it, and it was fine, until now.
Sunday, once again during football, the picture goes out completely and then the TV shuts off. No lamp light warnings, no air flow sensor warnings, nothing. I called Circuity City, Circuit City called Mitsubishi, and had to get permission to send a tech out. I, once again, have to miss a day of work so they can come out to the house. I asked when someone was actually going to recall this and they said so long as you have a warranty, they will just keep fixing it.
I will never buy anything from them again. I have also stopped 2 people from buying from them and will continue to do so everytime I see someone looking at them in a store or talking about them at work. Once my warranty runs out, I guess then I will need a lawyer, and let Mitsubishi deal with them. Worst $3000.00 I ever spent.

WRONG AGAIN, After they told me they would if it was a manufractureing defect.
Well the guy told me that 2 of the 3 circit boards were bad, so I faxed the info to MDEA CONSUMER RELATIONS as instructed, well after 3 weeks of not hearing from them I called them again, waited oh hold from 45 minutes at a time trying to get someone to help mee, well they finally told me they had not recieved any info from the guy Apex Electronics who was suppose to fax them the diagnose's, so I had to call him back & tell him that MDEA needed to know what the problem was so he assured me he would fax the info right away !, shoulda done that days ago
I called MDEA back & was told they had to look at the results & would get back to me. after waiting almost 2 weeks, someone called me back & said since the TV was so far out of warranty the wouldnt be able to help me & that basically it was my problem & they didn't care how much I paid for their JUNK it was Still my Problem, then the guy from Apex called me back to see if I wanted him to fix my TV for some $485.00 & that the part's he needed from Mitsubishi were BACKORDERED & they couldn't tell him how long it would be before they got the parts in & that he could pull the boards & repair them.
I Will NEVER Buy another Mitsubishi Product as long as I live & WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW!

I purchased my TV, a WD-57831 on 6-13-2007. After all my research and reading all the reviews, I decide that purchasing this TV was the best deal for the performance of the TV and components. I could have purchase a cheaper TV, but Mitsubishi has/had a great reputation for quality and performance. So, as you can see, my warranty just ran out and my bulb just burned out(out of warranty).
I had the thermal sensor replaced under warranty in February of 2008 due to a recall. Now I'm left with ordering a $250 bulb on my $2500 tv that is just over a year old. Just to make it clear, I do not use my TV in any excessive ways. It is in a well ventilated area and is properly protected by my APC (American Power Conversion) power strip. Let me 1st say that I'm very disappointed in the quality of the TV and Bulb to this point. Having two issues in a little over a years time seems excessive on such a expensive piece of equipment. BigScreen store was no help, other than ordering new bulb. No response yet from mdeaservice@mdea.com.
I'd like Mitsubishi to give me a FREE replacement bulb to replace this bulb that is obviously some kind of manufacturer defect. After googling this model I have found that many others are having similar issues. Instead of going through the normal class action stuff, why doesn't Mitsubishi just correct the problem and issue replacement bulbs to it's loyal consumers? Actions like this would make a statement about how the company stands behind it's products! Had to order a $250 bulb. Frustration and disappointment.

I called about a problem with our TV's 2nd lamp going out when we just purchased the 2nd lamp on December 2007. We purchase the Mitsubishi brand Big Screen TV in 2005. I was told that I was speaking with someone named Ranaldo who seemed very attenative to my conserns and needs he also seemed very cooperative and (as he told me that he was typing in all of the information that we just discussed) he started making arrangements to connect me to a company that would come out and service the TV. He told me to hang on the phone while he connected me to this company.
While I was holding for the service company I got disconnected. I waited about 15 minutes for them to call me back as I knew they had my home number because that is what they ask for when locating your customer file. No ONE CALLED ME BACK! So, I called that same exact number as befor to get a person on the phone who sounded exactly like the one I just spoke to only this person assured me that I was not speaking to Ranaldo but to Cody. Cody was a completly different personality who said without you faxing us your warranty info I cannot do anything and if you have someone come out to fix your TV I will have to pay out of my pocket to have it fixed. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that there was no supervisor there so I told them that my next call was going to be to their corporate office and then Cody informed me that they had a supervisor the supervisor was in a meeting. Cody said that he could only take my name and phone number( which he obviously had already) ahd have them call me back. I asked what the supervisors name was so I would know who to expect I was told that they had to many for him to know who it would be. See where this is going.
So I told Cody that I had started my own record of the times that I called and who I spoke to and what was said and that I was going to relate all of that information to their corporate office. He said mam I am trying to work with you! I said no you are just playing a game that I do not appreciate and I would be calling the corporate number. I told him to go ahead and have whoever supervisor call me and I would be expecting that call today as he had instructed. I hung up and just to see what I would hear I called the same 800- number to see if I could get the corporate number I letand a female answered and the first thing she asked for was my phone number. I told her I did not like starting my converstion out giving my phone number when all I needed was the number to their corporate number.
As soon as I said that then things went South at a rate of the speed of light. I gave her my number and she said I need to know what you need or I need to help you in an extremly rude tone. I said I just need the corporate number that is what I need. she finnaly after us going back and forth this way for about 10 min. yelled, let me put you on hold where I would still be if I hadn't hung up. I am sure that due to my experience with both The Big Screen Store and this so call customer service 800 number for Mitsubishi that neither one of hem want s to fix the TV because they know that it is a lemon. We have had nothing but trouble with it since the day we purchased it.
Please help me. I am desparate. I have a peice of equipment that we paid thousands of dollars for with a warranty that no one will honor with out us going through unnessessary duress. The replacement bulbs for this TV is a few hundred dollars. We have gone for a week or more just from the first time that the bulb went out before we ever got it fixed due to the lack of interest from Mitsubishi. They quite frankly do not care about their customers at all. They behave as if once they have your money the customer is SOL when it comes to help and honoring of any type of warranty.
This TV is in our family room and is the main TV that we watch. But, my family consists of myself and my somewhat full time employeed husband. I also work so we only watch the TV about 6 hours a day and that is only when we are home because we travel a whole lot and we are also heavily involved in intrests outside of our home. We should not have to be punished by a manufacurer simply because we have a piece of faulty equipment. My husband had to install the 2nd bulb himself becsause they would not. I feel like they should have given us money for installation casts and for not having a TV to watch for over a week.

We purchased a 52 DLP Mitsubishi from Best Buy 3.5 years ago. I've read everyone's complaints, and received the same sales pitch. That all you have to do is replace the lamp when it goes out and you have a brand new picture. After less than 2.5 years, the lamp went out. $250 to replace it. No problem, so it will last at least another 3 years (we had bought ours at discount as a floor model, figured some life was taken out of the lamp before purchasing).
14 months later, we are having problems with the tv again! One day we turned it on, and it was a bluish blurred screen. When we called customer service, we were told to unplug the tv and then turn it back on. WHen we did, nothing but a black screen and the red lamp light lit up. So, we are peeved that 14 months and the lamp is out again. We purchase a new lamp on ebay for $140 rather than the ridiculous $250. Replace the lamp, tv still not working.
Thru many conversations with tv repair companies (want to avoid mitsubishi customer service) I have been told to look into the cost of light engines, etc and see if we can do the repairs ourself to save some money. Those are $1K parts. So, now we are stuck after reading all the horrid reviews on these tv's as to what to do. Repair it and have it break again like everyone else's has or just put out a couple thousand more and buy a new tv?
And when dealing with customer service they were not helpful in the least. I was upset it was 14 months later and supposedly my lamp was out again. She said all you can do is go to parts and order a new lamp. I said you don't replace lamps that go out in 14 months? Sorry mam was all i got. Upon further research, i found we were a entire 2 months outside of the warranty period. You'd think, since they know all the problems with these tv's that 2 months outside of warranty, they could make an exception.

We purchased a Mitsubishi WD-62825 (original price $6299.95) for 4700.00 on 11/28/04 with a 3yr extended warranty. Had to have it replaced on 1/1/05. After replacing the lamp for the 3rd time, we all of a sudden get a green flashing timer light, with no power to the TV. This occurred in April, (3 yrs and 4 mo. old) We went to the Mitsubishi site for an authorized TV repair and scheduled an apt. When the TV repair tech came out, told us it would cost 1100.00 to replace the chassis. I was also told by the TV repair tech that this is a "known issue" of Mitsubishi and that we would be better off just buying a new TV.
Also, that there is no guarantee that this would fix the problem, but they would warranty the part for 90 days. My wife searched the internet for "flashing green timer light" there are hundreds of blogs with unsatisfied customers. My wife then contacted Mitsubisi Consumer Relations and wrote to the BBB of Irvine to complain about their product. Mitsubishi called me and said they would pay for the new chassis and gave me yet another authorized TV Repair number to call. I had contacted the Repair company only to find out they had to wait for Mitsubishi to authorize the work to be done. Mitsubishi called back and left me a message stating the cost would be 1340.55 and they would only cover 1/3rd of it (446.85) If this is a known issue, then why is it they can continue to sell this product? I expected this TV to last for years for the price we paid for it!!!

A couple of weeks later same thing happened and they came out again another two weeks wait, with another new sensor plug!
Third time we requested a different service facility. After waiting again this company hard wired the sensor. TV seemed to work until recently and now it is our fourth time in a year with out a TV that cost over $3,000!!! These TVs are junk! I am so upset to have paid so much money and this is happening to what appears to be everyone!! I wish something could be done to stop Mitsubishi from selling the TVs and perhaps make them accountable for all us hard working families dealing with the expense of keeping these TVs running. How about replacing them with their LCD TVs? I wonder if they are junk as well. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
The bulbs apparently only last from a few months to about 6 months. I cannot afford to pay $249.00 for each bulb as the extended warranty only covered 1 bulb...which we were lied to about as they told us we would get replacement bulbs for 5 years. (length of warranty) cts!

My husband and I bought a Mitsubishi 55-inch television, Model No. 55515, in October 2004 from American TV and Appliances. In June 2007, after less than three years of ownership, the TV failed and could not be reset to function. It took 27 days to obtain and bring the television back to operation status.
On March 16, 2008, the television again failed and could not be reset to operate. It has taken 57 days to obtain the necessary part and return the television to operational status.
In our opinion, this situation with two serious malfunctions in less than one year, and less than four years of total use, constitutes a faulty product that should be replaced. In less than one year, we have lost nearly three months use of our television. It also reveals an inefficient parts distribtuion system that is unsatisfactory. The Mitsubishi employees were less than understanding.
After 47 days and 30+ phone calls, we were offered one of two options: (1) Accept $900 from our present $2200 television set toward a new Mitsubishi TV, or (2) order the required part on expedited priority service, which would take another 7-10 days before delivery, then repair the set. Neither option was satisfactory to us and we stated no. we should receive a new TV but, within a short time, the part was ordered anyway, and the $900 option removed.
Mitsubishi employees took 45 days to order the required part with proper priority to effect rapid delivery; were less than candid in their discussions with us; did not call when they said they would; and were not always truthful! In short, someone dropped the ball obtaining the part necessary to repair the television. Once ordered for expedited Priority delivery, the part (the size of a postage stamp) reached St. Louis overnight. In other words, it appeared they were just stalling us until the part was delivered.
In summary, we found this situation very stressful (migraine headaches, high blood pressure); unpleasant; unnecessary; and highly time consuming for my husband and myself. A letter stating the above was sent to the President of Mitsubishi (MDEA), by registered receipt mail on 12 May 2008. We are still waiting for a response, or an explanation of why ordering the part took so long, or at least an apology. Bottom line: We still want Mitsubishi to replace this defective TV with a new one!

Mitsubishi HD DLP Projection TV Model #WD-62627 (mfrd. Jan. '06, purchased Feb. '06)- Lamp Replacement (lamp module, $229.00). On approximately 2 April 08, after approximately 2 years service, this TV's small 120-watt picture lamp (V29/V30) failed, and had to be replaced. This 2-year period seems to be a short life-expectancy for such a bulb.
However, a replacement lamp isn't provided singularly by Mitsubishi, but is provided as a small component(V29/V30) of a complete $229 lamp module. Providing the bulb inside its module is understandable because of the maticulous (cleanliness) care required in installing the bulb inside its module. However, one should not be charged for the entire new module cost when, at their request, the replaced module is returned to the Mitsubishi repair shop.
Unlike a repair business, when the lamp module core with the defective lamp was returned by me to the above parts store, no core/modular refund was returned/given to me- resulting in a very nice profit for this business. This over-charge by this business should be investigated by a consumer group to determine how many other customers may have been denied similar core refunds. Thank you-
