What is Lucid Audio?
Lucid Audio’s mission is to help people hear better, whether that means providing hearing protection or devices that improve your hearing. Its products are engineered in the United States and tested by audiologists.
Lucid Audio’s protective headphones, called HearMuffs, help protect the hearing of children up to 10 years old, and its multiple styles of PSAPs can help you hear better in a range of situations.
How does Lucid Audio work?
Lucid Audio’s two main types of products (PSAPs and HearMuffs) have significantly different functions.
How Lucid Audio’s PSAPs work
Lucid Audio’s personal sound amplification products are designed to be worn in or behind your ear(s) to improve your hearing. They don’t need personalized fittings by a hearing professional, and you can wear them in almost any situation where you want to hear better. They’re not fully waterproof, though, so some limitations do apply.
Although Lucid Audio’s PSAPs amplify sounds, they’re not the same as hearing aids. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesn’t regulate them as medical devices, and they’re generally not intended to help with hearing loss.
How Lucid Audio’s HearMuffs work
Lucid Audio’s HearMuffs are intended to be worn by children and infants to preserve their hearing in loud environments. They actively compress harmful sounds while letting in outside voices at safe levels.
Standard HearMuffs can play your choice of four soothing sounds, and wireless HearMuffs can connect to phones and tablets to play streaming audio.
