This profile has not been claimed by the company. See reviews below to learn more or submit your own review.

Lucid Audio sells a variety of hearing products. Its personal sound amplification products (PSAPs) can increase your hearing for everyday use or specific activities, and its protective headphones can keep young wearers’ ears safe from loud noises while pumping in soothing sounds. Returns are available for at least 30 days.

Pros

  • Sells hearing protection for children
  • In-the-canal and behind-the-ear PSAPs
  • PSAPs don’t need fitting

Cons

  • Not suitable to treat hearing loss

Bottom Line

Lucid Audio offers products for both hearing protection and hearing improvement. However, these products are notably distinct from hearing aids and not recommended for people with hearing loss.

What is Lucid Audio?

Lucid Audio’s mission is to help people hear better, whether that means providing hearing protection or devices that improve your hearing. Its products are engineered in the United States and tested by audiologists.

Lucid Audio’s protective headphones, called HearMuffs, help protect the hearing of children up to 10 years old, and its multiple styles of PSAPs can help you hear better in a range of situations.

How does Lucid Audio work?

Lucid Audio’s two main types of products (PSAPs and HearMuffs) have significantly different functions.

How Lucid Audio’s PSAPs work

Lucid Audio’s personal sound amplification products are designed to be worn in or behind your ear(s) to improve your hearing. They don’t need personalized fittings by a hearing professional, and you can wear them in almost any situation where you want to hear better. They’re not fully waterproof, though, so some limitations do apply.

Although Lucid Audio’s PSAPs amplify sounds, they’re not the same as hearing aids. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesn’t regulate them as medical devices, and they’re generally not intended to help with hearing loss.

How Lucid Audio’s HearMuffs work

Lucid Audio’s HearMuffs are intended to be worn by children and infants to preserve their hearing in loud environments. They actively compress harmful sounds while letting in outside voices at safe levels.

Standard HearMuffs can play your choice of four soothing sounds, and wireless HearMuffs can connect to phones and tablets to play streaming audio.

How much does Lucid Audio cost?

Lucid Audio’s products have different prices:

  • The Enrich Pro ITC PSAP costs $299.95 per pair.
  • The Enrich Pro BTE PSAP costs $149.99 per ear.
  • The Enrich PSAP costs $79.95 per ear.
  • Standard HearMuffs cost $14.95.
  • HearMuffs Wireless cost $29.99.

All prices are accurate at the time of publishing.

Lucid Audio offers a limited warranty and a 30- to 60-day return policy, depending on which product you want to return.

Lucid Audio FAQ

Is Lucid Audio a hearing aid?
Lucid Audio offers multiple products, none of which are hearing aids. Instead, the company provides personal sound amplification products (PSAPs) as well as HearMuffs and accessories.

PSAPS are not intended to improve hearing loss, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) notably does not consider PSAPS to be medical devices or regulate them for safety and effectiveness the way it does hearing aids.

Does Lucid Audio offer a warranty?
Lucid Audio offers a limited warranty to cover your purchase against defects in materials or workmanship under normal conditions for one year from the purchase date. If there is a defect, Lucid Audio will repair or replace the product at its discretion.
Does Lucid Audio have a return policy?
You can return items to Lucid Audio within 30 days of receiving them for a full refund. However, you have 60 days to return AMPED products for credit or exchange.
Will Lucid Audio work with my phone?
Some Lucid Audio products can connect to smartphones through Bluetooth, so as long as your phone has Bluetooth connectivity, it should be possible.

Is Lucid Audio good?

Lucid Audio is a good option for PSAPs and hearing protection. It has product options for a variety of needs, and you have at least 30 days from when you receive your products to return them if you’re unhappy. However, if you have hearing loss, you might want to consider a traditional hearing aid.
