Products are stored in seven climate-controlled warehouses in the U.S. and Asia to maintain freshness and quality.

iHerb’s iTested program

iTested is iHerb’s third-party product testing initiative to ensure quality and transparency. Since 2018, iHerb has partnered with independent labs — ABC Testing, Eurofins and Alkemist — to verify product label accuracy and confirm Clean Label Standards. Testing covers Supplement Facts and Nutrition Facts panels, microbial analysis and heavy metal analysis. Products are retested every six months to maintain quality. The program follows standards set by agencies including:

  • American Botanical Council (ABC)
  • American Herbal Products Association (AHPA)
  • Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA)
  • Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3s (GOED)
  • International Organization for Standardization (ISO)

  • U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

This independent testing helps guarantee unbiased, reliable results to help customers trust the products they buy.

How does iHerb work?

iHerb is an online platform where you can browse a wide range of health and wellness products across multiple categories:

  • Vitamins and supplements
  • Sports nutrition
  • Beauty
  • Grocery
  • Home
  • Baby
  • Pet care

You can find products for a range of health goals, from weight loss and metabolism support to immune health, stress relief and digestion.

Here’s how the process works:

  • Create an account using your email, phone number or social logins like Google, Facebook or Apple.
  • Browse and add items to your cart once your account is set up.
  • Review your order at checkout. You’ll see item totals, discounts, shipping costs, taxes and any applicable rewards credit.

iHerb cost

Prices on iHerb vary widely depending on the product type, size and brand. Most items fall within a broad range, with some starting under $2 and others priced over $250.

For example, a 3-pack of California Gold Nutrition prebiotic fiber costs $1.84, while an 8-ounce bag of whole arnica flowers from Frontier Co-op is listed at $256.61. However, many popular supplements and wellness items fall between $10 and $50.

iHerb frequently offers sitewide promotions, brand discounts and auto-ship savings that can reduce overall costs. Terrible site service. No longer have email address for customers to use. The Chat is a joke. Keeps giving same unuseful info no matter what you type. Can't get an agent.

Mr. Michael W **- You are supposedly paid money to analyze the "digital experience" of iHerb. As you can see here, the consensus is that iHerb has ruined Vitacost and the chatbots are beyond useless. To call this "business" is laughable since your website fails to process orders, fails to have any path to resolution of issues caused by your own backend processing, and ultimately wastes the time and money of hundreds of thousands of would-be customers. Your paycheck should go back out to all the Vitacost customers whose time and money you've wasted.

Avoid!!! iHerb ruined Vitacost. I have wasted so much time trying to place an order only to have them immediately cancel the order. They send me a new code to use and state this time the order will go through, only to have it cancelled yet again. This happened seven times. I'm done. It has been a huge waste of time trying to get my Vitacost products as well as try iHerb products. I do not know how they stay in business when they cancel every order. It is impossible to talk with anyone to resolve a problem, just receive emails from a bot. The worst customer service I have ever experienced.

I have been a customer with Vitacost for over 10 yrs and not once have I had an issue. I used the same credit card with Vitacost that I used with iHerb today. My credit card company accepted the charges but iHerb cancelled the order without an explanation. Who has time to deal with this? Don't do business with iHerb unless you are gifted in patience. They are inept. You can not talk to a person in customer service. The chat bot is useless. You cant talk to a live agent in chat. The bot sends an escalation email to I guess the help desk. The email response is that it could take up to 48 for them to respond. I want to order my products and have them arrive in a timely manner. I don't want to wait for 48 hrs to get an email response. I don't want to waste my time dealing with an issue that should never have happened in the first place. Very poor way to run a business.

I have used Vitacost for 20+ years and loved their prices, customer service and shipping. If there was a problem, it was resolved within 1-2 business days, communicating with phone or email. Their website layout is easy to use (not so with iHerb). The page doesn't jump around when trying to look for an item (as it does with iHerb). I tried placing my first order with iHerb for only 7 items and tried to use the 30% discount for first time customers. It wouldn't let me. "Joy", the bot, said it's for overseas countries only (come to find out later that they had my address as India). I have no idea where that came from. Only lived in USA.

Anyway...so when I tried to use the 30% coupon that Joy gave me, all 7 of my items in my cart had disappeared and been replaced with 4 items I had never seen! It was supposed to be an easy switch from Vitacost to iHerb. Not so. I had to set up a completely new account with them (what happened to transferring our info over and making it easy?). I finally got my order together and placed it. However, it was unknown by my bank (thank God) and my bank declined it. iHerb, without contacting me as Vitacost would've done, just rejected my order without letting me know what happened. Vitacost would always let me know if there was a problem so it could be fixed quickly and get my order shipped. They always sent me a confirmation email. I didn't get any notice whatsoever from iHerb. I don't understand why Kroger doesn't use Vitacost and get rid of iHerb. Much happier customers. I won't be returning

Very sad to see Vitacost dissolve, iHerb service is awful. My order was sent to an address that I haven't lived at for 13 years. I contacted iHerb via Chat and could only speak with a bot. Offered me a refund but won't refund the sales taxes/fees. Also won't reship the order to my current address (where I've lived for years and which Vitacost has had in my account since I moved here). I would need to re-order and pay taxes/fees a second time.

I have had 2 orders come to my house damaged. Because of that, one order was cancelled. Rather than send out another one with the same merchandise, I had to go back and reorder it myself. Not all of it was sent but a week later the remains of my order was sent and it when it came, I went out my door to a dirty torn plastic bag with and iHerb box in it that was crushed and the contents broken and smashed inside of it. I tried to go through their chat box, but that didn't work and there is no way to contact a real person to help with anything. When trying to get a refund you have to upload a photo, which I don't do. I'm older and my tech skills are limited. So, I guess there's nothing I can do. Sadly I will NEVER order from iHerb again.

Can't send photo of damage. Never had all these problems when ordering from Vitacost. Wish they never merged. There are a lot of things I order online. Now, thanks to iHerb, that may no longer be possible.

Was a customer of VitaCost and now that iHerb has taken over, it's not customer service friendly and the multiple discounts gone. To communicate, there's "JOY" AI and not a joy to deal with. Two weeks ago I placed an order and was immediately canceled for whatever reason. I tried again to reorder the same items, canceled. No explanation whatsoever. I waited until today to try to place another order and since this was a transfer from Vitacost and being canceled twice, requested the WELCOMEVC30. Wouldn't go through due to saying I already did a prior order. Again, Never went through! It's impossible to reason with AI JOY and the best discount for cart order was 20 percent.

Needless to say, they've already lost a customer before I've even started. There are other vitamin companies out there that will take my business and I don't have to deal with AI or customer no service. Plus, compared to VitaCost, I don't see the multiple discounts, grocery products, and customer service that made it a number one go to for vitamins and food products. Leaving your customer service to AI with no other vocal support phone number available is going to be a customer killer.

If I could give a negative number, I would. I used Vitacost a lot, then they must have been taken over by iHerb. There was a coupon to try iHerb, so I did. EACH TIME, the order was immediately canceled. (Dates 5/8, 5/9, 5/17). I reached out via their "leave us a message" and got an email "answer" DAYS later telling me it was just a glitch & to "try later." Well, it was obvious they hadn't read the message which explained that I'd already tried a day later with the same result! Then, I tried a week later. Still immediately canceled! Then, to crown it all, they place THREE CHARGES to my CC...on the canceled orders. Did not reverse the charges. They have ZERO customer service, just chat bots that are not well trained. DO NOT USE THEM. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.
