This face cream is frequently advertised on television late at night. The ad states "free 30 day trial". It took me many times of watching this commercial before I finally decided to order it. My thought was, what do I have to lose, it's a free trial. If I did not like it, I could return it and owe nothing. My hope was that the product would be as good as they claim in their commercial.

After all they claim it is so good that they "gave it away in free gift bags at the Emmy awards". So I ordered it and tried it for 2 weeks. Immediately I noticed that after using it my skin still felt so dry that I had to use an additional face cream by Neutrogena on top of the Hydroxatone. So within the 30 days, I called to cancel any future orders and let them know that I would be returning the unused portion.

Two things happened that made absolutely no sense of any kind. In that very conversation, I was told (1) that there was no need to return the unused product and (2) that I owed them $209.00 - for a free trial? Because of the later, I did return the unused product. I have been billed multiple times for $69.94! For what, trying the jar of Hydroxatone that was to be a free trial?

Initially they did tell me I would have to pay shipping which was $7.95. I did not dispute that single charge although that amount was billed twice! When I phoned the company to clear up this problem, I spoke to a gentleman who was quite rude and very sarcastic! He actually stated to me "nothing in life is free".

What? The word free is used over and over again in their commercials both for their face cream and eye cream! They claim that they did not receive the unused portion and would not remove the charges. To add insult to injury, the Hydroxatone had the audacity to mail me even more of the product that I did not want, did not order and have no intention of paying for.

I immediately went to the post office and returned it, with the invoice (I copied it first) and mailed it back by certified mail. I called Hydroxatone again. They did not apologize, was again rude but stated that out of courtesy they would credit my card for $69.94. They did. However they turned around and charged me for it again. And they charged me $7.95 for shipping.

I had already filed a dispute with the company for the very first charge of $69.94. But again, I had to call my credit company and dispute more charges which continue to pile up. While on the phone with my company, they called Hydroxatone and we had a three way call. This time a woman claimed I had not returned anything and unless I could provide proof that I returned the product, they would not reverse the charges.

After 35 minutes of arguing with the Hydroxatone rep. and while my credit card company was on the phone, the rep. from Hydroxatone told several lies: (1) That they never received the unused portion. (2) That I spoke with a woman the day I called to cancel the free trial (remember here, I had only spoken with the sarcastic man who told me nothing in life was free). (3) That this mystery, non-existent woman had offered me a discount on more products (does this even make sense?).

After my rep from the credit card company tried to intervene on my part, the Hydroxatone woman agreed to credit back $105 - after billing me $69.94 on 4 occasions and $7.95 twice. I am also out the cost of returning the products by certified receipts. This company lies, and steals. I am not a wealthy person and will not tolerate thievery!

I cannot begin to calculate the huge amounts of money that they are stealing from consumers on a daily basis. And if the officials of the Emmy Awards are wise, they will take legal action to have their name removed from Hydroxatone commercials!

I have a chronic illness that is exasperated by stress. Hydroxatone has caused me a great deal of stress on multiple occasions! The result is pain - serious pain which is enough to have caused extra visits to the emergency room at my local hospital. So, add that in and I'm out a thousand!

For a free trial offer claiming that if I didn't like the product; I would only be out the cost of shipping, I feel sorry for them. Evidently what comes around goes around and sadly, though beyond my control, they will reap that which they have sown! From what I am reading on line, I am just one of the many, many victims. Thank you for providing this avenue to vent my frustration over all of this mess.

Our Letter to the BBB explains it all: This was a "free" offer. They tried to bill us $200. We immediately returned the package. Three months later, we received a letter in the mail that we owed them the money. We called them and they said that we needed proof that we sent it back. First, we spoke to Manny at ext. **, then a person that would not give a name or extension number, and then Jeanne at ext. 611 to tell them that now we see it is a scam. Jeanne was so proud to tell me that they were BBB accredited (with the highest accreditation). Well, while I was on the phone, I was searching your website. The addresses you have for Hydroxatone, LLC matches exactly. And when I told her I could not find an "accredited" business, she told me it was under Hydroxatone/Urban Nutrician which I could not find at all. When I mentioned I was not going to pay and I would take it to the next level, all of a sudden she would close the account and dismiss the $200 that we supposedly owed. I thanked her, told her my findings, and hung up. This company is a scam! And they are using your name for a reference!

Hydroxatone does not work and when I called customer service, I realized that they are charging my credit card $76 per bottle and they have sent me six bottles. Are they out of their minds or very smart? What a scam. I asked to return them since they have not been used and the customer service rep told me I can return three but not the others as I had them since December 2010. Where does it say that in their promotion? All I can say is what a scam. I told him i thought you said it was good for three years and I never agreed to this. What a scam.

I am a former employee of Atlantic Coast Media Group or better known as Hydroxatone. I now volunteer my spare time at senior citizen homes in my local area. The reason for my complaint is simply awareness. Do not give your credit card information to the representatives you encounter. This company states that they can't see your credit card info and that it is safely guarded. That is a lie. There are representatives with major criminal felonies who have full access to your personal info. This is a serious issue and needs to go public. This company is filling their pockets on misconceptions and false advertising.

When I received it and tried it, it was ** and did nothing to help my skin so I called to cancel knowing that they had no card to charge anyhow. I returned their product and I'm glad that I did it the way I did. They are scam artists.

After filling out my personal information on the hydroxatone website (to get a free jar), I realized that this was a trial, and that I would be receiving additional jars of cream and be charged accordingly. So I clicked off the site and said, "no way". A few days later, I received a phone call from the company stating that I didn't complete my order, and after a very long high pressure conversation, I agreed to try the product even if it's against my better judgment. Since then, I have been receiving phone calls from an unknown number. After answering, I was thanked for ordering hydroxatone and was offered "free gasoline vouchers" for only $1.00!

Then the representative quickly goes through his speech and I heard the familiar, "if you like this, we will continue to send your vouchers and charge your account $29.95/month, you can call and cancel at any time". I had to repeatedly say “no”! He then promptly hung up on me. Please know that hydroxatone is affiliated with 2 other companies and they all share your personal and financial information. After that phone call, I found this website and have discovered all of the terrible complaints and charges related to this company. I have just called my bank and canceled my debit card to prevent them from charging my account any further. So far, I only have the $1.95 shipping to account for. As soon as my product arrives, I am shipping it back. I want no part of this hassle. I consider this a lesson learned. In the future, I will research anything that I purchase online before I buy it!

I called for a free trial of instant effect wrinkle filler, as advertised on a TV commercial. The telephone call was answered by an automated service. After taking my name and address, it explained that I would get a free trial of the product and all that was asked is that I pay the shipping fee of $7.95. It asked me to say yes or no. I said yes. Then it proceeded to make another of AM/PM creams and I said no; but it continued with offer of 3 mos. at the price of one.... etc, onto a magazine offer.

The next day my account was charged $51.00 instead of $7.95. When I called the number given by the automated line, the customer service rep explained that it was for the AM/PM cream and the order had already been shipped. I explained that I never said yes to those offers, and I only wanted the free trial. I asked how I could get my money back for something I didn't agree to. He told me I was being very rude and it was too early in the morning to be so talking so loudly on the phone. Eventually, he agreed to refund my account $39.95, money to appear 3 to 5 days. I asked him what I should do with the AM/PM cream when it arrived. He said I could write return to sender when the package arrived, and they would refund the rest of the $11.00 or "I could do what I want."

The package came the next day, and the $39.95 was refunded to my account the following day. I decided that my original intention was to try the wrinkle filler, so I opened the box. The product works good, and I decided I wanted to find out how I could order it on a regular basis and how I could return the 3 AM/PM creams since I didn't pay them. I wanted to make it right with the company and become a customer.

That same day, two charges for $1.50 each appeared on my account from Hydroxatone for an advisor fee. Not really worrying about that, I called the company. I first gave the customer rep my account number, name, etc. She asked why I was calling. I briefly explained I had called a couple of days ago and money had been refunded to me and now I wanted to know how I could send the creams back.

The conversation went downhill quickly from there. She told me she didn't know what I wanted. The company was letting me have over $200 worth of product for free since I had opened the package. I told her I just wanted to return everything, except for the trial of instant effect wrinkle filler. She told me the commercial was for AM/PM cream, and I should have known that was what I was getting. I told her the commercial absolutely was not about AM/PM cream. She told me I needed a reality check and that my account was closed and the company did not need customers like me. She accused me of interrupting her and told me my problem with the first customer rep was probably because of the same. So I let her talk more.

When she stopped I asked her if I could say something; she said yes, but she didn't know what I could have to say. I told her my reason for calling was that I like the product and wanted to order more. I didn't want to keep something I didn't pay for, and all I wanted was an address to return the product (none of the packaging states an address). She said the company had returned $39.95 and my account was closed. I asked her then why, if my account was closed after returning the $39.95, they charged my account with two charges of $1.50?

She was quiet for a moment and said the company returned my money and now I wanted to complain about $1.50. I told her to give the address of where to send the creams back, because even though I like the wrinkle filler, I didn't want to do business with a company that hired jerks like her. She put me on hold and returned with a mailing address.

I believe their ploy is to be slightly deceiving with their free offers--send & charge customers with products and then try to intimidate into paying for them. I think they try to play hardball to get as much money out of a person as they can.

    Buyers beware.

My daughter ordered this last week and immediately cancelled the next morning. She was told 'you won't be charged' and don't worry. The product arrived today, a quick check revealed that yes, her account was charged $158 yesterday plus two point of sale fees totaling $3.00 (Not on Invoice). We begin seeking restitution tomorrow, ho hum. I am actually considering her a lucky person if this is all she has to suffer to learn this important life lesson.

    On another note:

Incredibly, this company actually seems to have someone 'policing' sites like this one for these types of complaints. Apparently this person then proceeds to 'quasi-intelligently' rebuke all of the naysayers. Wow! Really, how do they sleep at night? I guess on beds of money. Not everyone in America is fool.

Fact1: The three such posts on this page are from men. The rest of the post mostly from women except for those ordering for a female relation.

FACT2: All three rebukes are from NY or NJ. Coincidentally, the BBB reports the address as: Andrew S. in Jersey City, NJ

FACT3: Notice how the tone of these three statements sounds like the same exact thing, is phrased in the exact same condescending way, and only talks about how you shouldn't expect anything for free. This guy or guys never mention how close to 60 different people have the same complaints about returns, weird bank charges and horrible customer service.

FACT4: Here are the three entries, judge for yourself:
Leo of Jersey City, NJ Nov. 16, 2010
Jimmy of New York, NY Oct. 20, 2010

Bart of Linden, NJ Oct 9, 2010

FACT5: After checking the BBB, I was astonished to see they gave them an 'A’ even though out of 718 complaints, most were apparently addressed by Mr. S to the satisfaction of the BBB, but not the consumer.

I know it sounds like a cliche, but it’s very true: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

I had been seeing for some time an ad for some wrinkle cream. I put off buying it because I thought it was a scam, but the ad eventually got to me and I thought "Free trial...just pay for shipping. Okay." I ordered with my credit card and got the package. Soon after I was noticing after I got off work several phone calls from an unknown number. About 3 to 4 times a day. I would try to call the number back to no avail.

Finally I got a call from that number while I was out to dinner and it was this company. I told them that their constant calling was annoying and I wanted to be taken off their mailing list. The product had done nothing for me. I was hung up on. I went on vacation last week and when I got back I had a package from the company with two more jars and some other creme and a bill for $141.00.

I called them immediately and asked them what was going on. I wanted them to take back their product and never contact me again. Then they told me that what I thought was a free trial jar—it was not. This had to be sent back too. I will send it back, but the man on the phone and the commercials and ads I have seen seem to clearly state they are giving you a "free" jar if you pay the shipping.

As I said, I am sending all back, which will cost me more now. After reading other sites about this, I have learned that so many other people have had the same experience. Some ended up having to pay a whole lot of money because they claim after you send it back to them, they never receive it and threaten to put it on your credit if you don't pay. This is outrageous behavior. I don't know how, with all the complaints I have read online, this company can still pedal this product and not be sued. Or given some form of a fine. This can not possibly be legal. I am definitely keeping my receipt after mailing this back now that I have read what they are going to try and pull next.

I'm not sure what the future holds for the credit card number I have given them. I will have to have my credit card changed. I am out of pocket money to send back what was supposed to be free. I am going to have to take time off to go stand in line at the post office to send it back. Their constant calls were harassing. The person I talked to was rude. This whole thing has made me quite distraught. I will say I've learned a lesson. Nothing is for free. But then I suppose I already knew this.

Please do something to put a stop to this before more innocent people get taken. Thank you.

However, they make it sound like this is new. They have several websites which they use, i.e., Smoother Face, Youngest looking eyes and more. I ordered the product from the TV ad against my better judgement. I didn't like the auto ship, which they say you can cancel. I was certain it was a scam. I gave them my American Express Card (since they are very honorable). Before I even hung up the phone, the company was charging my account. I called American Express and asked them not to accept any charges from the merchant, as the whole thing is so dubious. I believe they are making false claims which they cannot substantiate. I can't believe the lack of common sense people have when complaining about a product or service. If they listen (that's the keyword, listen!) to the advertisement you will never hear the word sample (why would anyone pay for the shipping cost for a sample anyway? It's a free trial to try a product before paying for it.) The reason some people think it's a scam is because they don't listen to the terms and conditions when ordering and they don't read the invoices when they receive the products.

You have a full 30 days to try the product before paying for it. It's that simple! If anyone decides a product is not for them, they can simply return the used and unused products. That's exactly what I did. It's not rocket science. But it appears difficult for some people because as I read the comments and I can't believe how ignorant they are. Do they actually think products are free in the United States of America? Nothing is free besides the air you breathe.

The people who are screaming it's a scam are the ones that expect to receive products without paying for it. It's basically online shoplifting and these people should be ashamed of themselves. The bottom line is if people listen and/or read carefully they should fully understand what they are getting into. If people can't read, listen or understand then they should not order anything at all!

We never called them back and so far have not received anything else from them. My mother is out $7.95 for 2 jars of merchandise she did not order. This company skirts the law with there deceptive ads and remains in business just long enough to make some big money and then move on to another product. They don't get into legal trouble because they do give back a very small percentage in refunds to show they are legitimate. Never, never give out your debit or credit card number. Regards.

Okay, you people really need a reality check. The deal is a free trail which is what you all received. It's not a free sample. It never says it's a free sample. It is a trial. A trial is a period of time. You pay shipping and handling up front and get to use the product for 30 days. If you keep the treatment passed the allotted time, that's when you get billed for it. The reason you receive a 60 or 90-day treatment is because that's when the maximized results come. The reason only 30 days is allotted is because that's how long it takes to see the beginnings of results and the customers are given a chance to try it and see the results before they decide whether or not to buy it. You can send it back after it is used and not pay for it as long as you call within the 30 days. That's the deal

This is the only company in the world that will allow you to use a product and if you don't want to be charged for it, you don't have to. All you have to do is play by the rules. Do you people honestly think you can keep hundreds of dollars worth of product with proven clinical results for free. What are you all wacked out on goofballs?

The reason you people think it's a scam is because you don't listen to the directions and half of you don't read your invoices. You have 30 days to try the product. It's never advertised as a sample. It's only ever advertised as a free trial, which is what it is.

This is pretty much the same story that I am hearing from everyone else. I was told that mine was a ‘Try one for the shipping cost, and receive one free’. When I received mine, the reason that I decided that I didn't want it was because of the advertisement of ‘try one and get one’. When my product came in, there was a bill with it of how much would be owed if it wasn't cancelled in 30 days. The bill stated that the amount was $96.00 but one jar only costs $42.00 so they weren't giving me anything free because I had already paid for the shipping and handling so my free one wasn't free. Also, I dealt with the same thing as far as trying to get an RMA number. They wouldn't ever send me one and I couldn't get anyone on the phone once I chose the option of canceling the product.

So, I called my bank and told them what was going on and I showed them where I had sent multiple emails canceling this product and I told them how I couldn't get anyone to answer the line once they saw that I was choosing to cancel the product. I did all of this because they would not give me an RMA number to return it so after showing the bank my information, I closed the credit card that I had ordered this on and got a new card number because I knew they were going to charge my card the $96.00 without letting me cancel so I stopped it before they could charge my account.

Just some helpful information if you are in this situation because usually the bank or credit card number can be changed for only about $5.00 which is a lot better than the almost $100.00 that they were planning on charging my account. I got sick of asking for an RMA number and nobody giving me one or canceling the account. None because I cancelled the card that they were planning on charging but had I not cancelled it, they were planning on charging it almost $100.00 because they would not give me an RMA number nor would they cancel the account.

I, too, am a victim to this ridiculous scam. My experience was common to the complaints I am reading. I called to take advantage of the "free" offer; paid $12 "shipping and handling fee". I specifically refused the offer for auto shipments twice during the conversation I had with a woman (I had responded to a late night advertisement). The exorbitant price they later charged me was not mentioned at all. To my dismay, when I received the "free 30-day trial package, there were three jars instead of one. I used the product which did not work (I have some hydroxy cream from the dollar store that works better). Before I could return the unused product I received another three jars! Digging through all the papers that were enclosed in the original box I found a paper, in small print stating that on three separate dates they deducted $69.95 from my bank account.

Granted, I should keep better track of my banking transactions. However, I had only authorized $12.00 not over $200 to be deducted from my account. When I called the company, the rep was very rude when I indicated my dissatisfaction with the price, product, and the fact that I had been sent unwanted product. I told the man I spoke to that I would be returning five of the jars unopened and wanted my account credited. He was very rude and said I could only return the three I had just received and I would not get a refund for the other two because 30 days had passed. I explained I had only wanted the one free trial but had been sent too many. I was told I could sent all five back but would not receive a refund of the unauthorized monies taken from my bank account. I asked to speak to a supervisor.

The man informed me one was not available until the next day and they would call me back. The supervisor did call the following day but was just as rude if not more so than the rep I had spoken to. I was told I would not receive a refund for the unused jars. At this point, I hung up in total frustration. How can these people get away with this scam? I returned all five jars. Postal tracking shows they received them back, but I have gotten no response. So they are keeping the product and my money! I think there must be a law against this type of situation. I hope I can get some responses to my email as I am considering a class action suit. In addition when I asked for a physical address so I could FedEx the product I was returning, I was told I could only sent it to a PO Box.

When I called to place my order, they were more than helpful and cheerful and explained to me that all I had to do was pay $7.95 for the shipping and it would arrive in a few days.

Well, it did arrive and I opened the box to find 2 full size jars and no toner! I tried to call about this to see if a mistake had been made and was astonished to be redirected to another phone number called talk line which was a sex talk line! So, I went online and found another number and spoke with a man named Dan. He explained that they were aware of this problem and it was being taken care of and apologized. He said, "this is not the way we do business here". He was pleasant but explained that I'd have to call back at another time.

When I did, I got anther employee named Alicia. I tried to explain to her that there had been some type of mistake and told her what I thought I was supposed to receive and what I actually got. She was extremely rude and actually obnoxious! She gave me a date that was not 30 days from even the day they sent the order on the invoice, and told me that I needed to write down what she called an RMA# and write it on the return box under the address, or it wouldn't be taken care of and may go to the wrong department and I may be charged again and shipped another 2 jars. I was so angry and asked to speak to her supervisor. She told me she didn't have one at first, then after I didn't give in about that, she told me she had one named Karen and "she" would call "me" back within 24 hours. Well, I waited and no callback.

So, I called again and spoke to Jeanne, who sounded concerned about how I was treated and gave me another RMA#. She even went so far to tell me that Alicia was lying and because she knew she'd be in trouble for her rudeness towards me, therefore never told Karen" to call me. Jeanne told me that I would need to get a delivery confirmation number from the post office. Today, I sent the product back before the date they gave me and did everything they told me to do. So I will see soon if they do as they said.

The product was greasy and smelled funny. I couldn't use it. It made my skin worse than it was before and it made me breakout, something that never happens to me. Aside from the stress of getting a huge runaround, I also am out $14.90 in shipping fees and still did not receive the free toner! I am not sure what if anything else will happen with this ordeal. The shipment of two jars in a box came within a week and I used some of the product in one jar for about a week and it was very greasy. My skin actually looked worse than before I had started using it. I decided to see if my friends wanted the jars since I couldn't use them and I had already paid for them. I gave an open jar to one friend and the unopened jar to another.

I looked for a phone number online to call to cancel my next shipment and tell them it wasn't working for me. I had thrown away the original box I received the product in and I couldn't find the receipt so I didn't have the phone number. I searched online for a phone number and found nothing. The only number I found in Google and/or White Pages for this business was an informational line, meaning that you could call and listen to testimonials about the product but you couldn't get an actual person on the phone.

After two weeks of hunting down a phone number for this company, I finally found one online in an obscure site. It was actually listed under a site regarding online scams. It was at this point that I received another shipment and I called to cancel and let them know the product wasn't working for me. I got a representative from the company that was hostile and rude. I explained the situation to him that the product was not working for me and that I wanted to return the new shipment. He said I still owed for the original shipment. I said no, my bank account was debited for the $69.00 and he said one jar was $69.00.

I apparently still owed for the other jar from the original shipment. I said, "No problem, I will return it immediately and cancel any future orders that you have for me and I will also be returning the shipment of two jars that I just received." He said he would need my credit card number to process the return. I told him there was no way he was getting my credit card number from me because I am now realizing the scam claims to be true and that if I were to give this fraudulent company my credit card, I would have continued to rack up charges for as long as they felt like charging my card. (The reason they needed a credit card number is that my original card was through one bank, they were acquired by another bank, and I had to get another card with another number because they closed my original account and changed/opened a new account).

He continued to be argumentative and rude to me. I told him, "You are supposed to be customer service and you are being so hateful and rude to me." He responded to my side of the story by basically calling me a liar and saying the phone rep didn't say or wouldn't have said that to me. I said, "You have no idea what the phone rep said. You weren't listening to our conversation." He responded that he could have the phone tapes pulled to verify. I said, "Yes! Let's get the phone tapes pulled! I know exactly what was said, I know what she told me and I want them pulled."

He then backed down and said that he would have to order them from archives and that could take a while. I said that I can wait. I gave him my phone number to call me back once the tapes were pulled. He did not give me his name during this conversation. He called me back about 2-3 weeks later and left a message with a name but I could not pronounce it or spell it. It sounded foreign to me (maybe of Middle Eastern or Indian descent). I called back and left a message and heard nothing else after that.

It is my firm belief that as fraudulent as this company seems to be, it would not be unreasonable to think they doctored the phone tapes and they are not in their original entirety. I would be shocked if they were. The fact of the matter is I was only sent two shipments, each having two jars inside. Once I was done with the phone call above, I promptly went back to my friend who had the unopened jar and asked for it back. She gave me the unopened jar (she had not started using it yet) and I sent it from a Parcel Express Store with tracking no less so that they couldn't say they didn't get it.

I show that they received it. They also received the second shipment of two jars unopened and I returned that one through USPS and marked the box returned to sender--did not order and put it back in my mailbox the same day I received it. It went out in the next day's mail. The company even shows a $139.00 credit on my account with them, which is actually the box with two jars they received (as evidenced by the enclosed statement from them). I also have a $69.00 debit on my bank account for the first jar I received (as evidenced by the enclosed bank statement). The problem is that they have not credited back the jar I sent back with tracking!

I heard about Hydroxatone on the radio about a free trial, so I called about it and I was told that I didn't need to purchase unless I liked it. It was just a free trial, I only need to pay shipping and handling. I used my debt card, then money started missing from my account, when I inquired with my bank I found out it was this company. When I called to cancel, they told me that they were going to continue to take money out of my account. So, I closed the account and now i am getting letters that I'm being referred to their bad credit office. I don't need this on my credit. I have worked too hard to get my credit to where it is now. Can you help or hurt my case please respond. Thank you.

I don’t even know how this Hydroxatone company is allowed to do business. They reel customers in by offering free samples in order to get your credit card information and then they bill you each month. When you call their customer service, they give you the run around and hang up in your face. You can try calling them but I guarantee you it will be a waste of your time. I’ve gotten numerous letters from them stating that I owe them money when I canceled this frivolous transaction immediately after receiving their product.

I was so angry that when I opened this package and looked at the invoice, I never even opened their free sample of eye cream (and supplements) that they shipped to me. However, from the other complaints that I’ve read, Hydroxatone AM/PM eye cream is nothing more than a skin moisturizer. I didn’t even order any supplements from this company, yet I have to pay to ship them back. This is a terrible, terrible scam and they should be sued! Where is a good lawyer when you need one? This resulted to stress, anxiety, and frustration.

There actually is still an advertisement on television about a free trial at your own risk on this product, only pay shipping for $5.99. So I give the representative my debit card number. I did not give permission or made any arrangements for any purchases, except for the $5.99. I was sent the free trial, which I did receive. Without any contact or permission, they went back into my account on 02.19.10 and withdrew $67.99, which I did not realize until I received my bank statement. Then on 03.15.10 1, I received a small package of this product I did not order.

When I called the company the representative told me the small package was just a free gift and I had signed up for the monthly supply and on 03.18.10. They would charge my account $67.00 again each month. I did not make any arrangement or give approval to this company to withdraw any amount of monies from my account but the $5.99 trial. They did deduct $67.00 on 02.19.10, which I would like a full refund.

This happened around 10/2/09. I received the product on 9/9/09. I cancelled on 9/10/09. Then I just received a bill in the mail today, 3/15/10, for a bill for $224.54.

I told Nicole what had happened. She told me that the deal is I must return product within 30 days and not just cancel. She doesn't know who told me that prior info. She also said I could no longer return product and that they would not accept. This is the first correspondence I've received from them in 6 months, and they say I cannot now return the product. I would have returned it immediately. They want to charge me $224.54. Operator Nicole was extremely nasty and seemed very confident that I would have to pay this.

In December 2009, I ordered hydroxatone after hearing their ad on the radio. The only thing l remembered was l will get the product for 30-day free trial. I received a package with three jars in it. My reaction was that it's a lot to use in 30 days; it must be a cheap product. l tried and didn't see any improvement but some rash on my face but I decided to keep it and pay $69 to avoid the possible dispute of returned but not received kind of issue.

Yesterday, February 14th 2010, I called to cancel future shipment after seeing my credit card statement with the $69.96 charge. l was told that I still owe them almost $140 for the second and third jars that I received which I didn't know when I received the package, but stupidly thinking they were part of the 30-day trial. The representative on the phone said that there was a special deal yesterday that if I pay in full, then they will take $40 off, and pay only $99. I foolishly said okay. Then l read all the negative complaints about the company this morning and realized that I wasn't the only stupid one that was scammed. What can l do to get my money back? Is it right to send people extra jars for one jar trial?

If l had known that the second and third jars weren't part of the trial, I'd returned them with all means instead of keeping them. Who would pay more than $200 to try a product? I lost $180 to a product that l can't use to improve my look but adding rash on my face.

Hydroxatone is a scam. They are a bait and switch scam. They tell you that they will give you a free 30 day trial supply of eye cream for only $6.95 (shipping and handling), they say nothing about automatically charging your credit card $69.95 every month until you get the product and the invoice. Then it says if you don't want the product to return product (empty or not) within a 30 day period (you call customer service and they give you a RMA - return merchandise #).

I followed their instructions. The charge of $69.95 would be on my credit card if I had not returned the product by 2/8/2010. I returned product by USPS on 1/15/2010. Now they say they have no proof that I returned it. They charged me $69.95 anyway, although I plainly wrote the RMA.

And when I tried Hydroxatone, I broke out with a rash on my face. This made my appearance worse than ever. I stopped using this product and called to cancel.

I waited on the phone over 30 minutes and did on get any one. When I called another Customer Service number that issues for cancellations, no one would answer, and I got a voice mail. I left a message and did not hear from them. Next thing, I was charge $69.95 on December 7, 2009 for one of the jars and $69.94 on January 4, 2010 on the second jar. And now, they are trying to charge me another $69.95 for the third jar.

Then I received a package of three more jars that I tried to cancel, and they wanted to charge on my card $219.80. I cancelled my credit card, for they could not take any more money. I finally was able to talk to a Rodney from Hydroxatone, and he stated that there is no record of cancellations. He wanted me to return the three jars I received on February 2, 2010 on certified mail where someone have to sign for it. So, there's more money to spend, and return address is a PO Box where you don't have anyone to sign.

On 1/10/10, I was billed $69.96 for the next shipment, which was also never received. Martha confirms that the post office has not secured a delivery and will credit my account. We'll see. After reading many consumer complaints I realized I had a similar experience. I, too, called for the 30-day free trial of Hydroxatone and was told I would receive a free 30-day trial but would have to pay a small shipping charge of $7.95, which I paid with my debit card. I was told that if I liked the product I would be charged $60+ for it. If not, I would return it at my own expense. Unfortunately I fell for this. To my surprise, I received 3 jars of the product (two shattered), with a bill showing $60.00+ was due each month for three months. I called to inquire about why they sent 3 jars and I was told that was the "norm".

I asked why I wasn't made aware of this when I ordered and no reasonable answer was received. I was then told to mail back the one bottle that was not broken which I did at my expense. I was told that I would have to get a "tracking number" at the time of mailing. Well, the P.O. advised that there was no such thing but I did have to pay a few dollars extra for delivery confirmation that I could confirm on the Internet. At this point and the money it cost me for nothing I did not trust this company and found it necessary to call my Bank and cancel this particular debit card.

The same as other comments found on this website, I too called in from a radio advertisement, received the product, to which the free trial policy stated 30 days from the date received. Upon trying to cancel and return the product, I was told (sales rep named Victor) that they were going to charge my card anyway because it was beyond the 30 days. I advised them that I was not keeping any of the products and that I was returning both bottles that they sent me. I also advised that I would dispute any charges made to my credit card as I was revoking any permission implied or otherwise for them to charge my credit card.

At that, I ended the call. I did not realize that I needed an RMA # to return the product and so when preparing the shipping label, I realized that there was only a PO box listed. I again called back to request a physical shipping address as I wanted a signed proof of receipt. I was told curtly (Juan) that I do not need to return it to a physical address and I do not need a signature for it, my postage is my proof of return. I again requested the return address and requested an RMA #. Juan provided a return shipping address of PO Box 9300, Jersey City, New Jersey 07303. Moreover, when I requested the RMA # he started to give it to me and then instead said, "You need to talk to your original sales rep," put me on hold for 5 minutes, and the phone went dead. I called back twice more, was reconnected with Victor, and advised him that I wanted an RMA number and that I was returning both bottles.

Victor gave me the RMA number and I again requested to know if they intended to charge my credit card after I specifically advised them that I do not consent. He advised that they would charge me for one bottle at $59.95 on October 31, 2009. I then advised that I was returning the product and they would have it back on Monday. I also advised him that I was filing a complaint with Consumer Affairs and we ended the call. Within 2 minutes, I received a call back from Victor advising me that he spoke to his supervisor and that they have decided to extend my return date to 11/9/09 and that I would not be charged any additional money to my credit card. This type of trickery by these companies must be reported and stopped. If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I spoke to Mark and he indicated that I would have to pay $42.90 for shipping and that I would have a chance of enrolling in their continued program if I liked the program. I ordered the product for my 74 year old mother that did not have a debit card. I received a letter stating that my debit card would not allow for the payment of their product. I called and spoke to a man indicating that I did not enroll into their program and that I should not be charged for their product. This man told me that I owed for their product because I was required to send their product back to them and that I used their product. I did not open the package as I gave the package to my mother. I was not aware nor did my mother mention that this product had any letter in it indicating such an agreement. I have a copy of their advertisements that my mother gave me. Not anywhere on their advertisement does disclosure say that you have to return this product not to be charged for it. I told this man that I wanted to take this taken care of and that I did not want to be charged for the product. He did not listen to me.

When I called the number that was given to me by the correspondence, I had to wait 5 minutes to even speak to anyone. I am going to send an email to them as well. No one seems to be paying any attention to any communication that I am making. If I and my mother have been taken advantage of, how many more people have been taken advantage of. I sent the cream back in January of 2008 because I had a negative reaction and was careful to send it back weeks before the 30 day trial was over. I did'nt think to get a confirmation receipt from my post office to confirm that Hydroxatone had indeed recieved the jar. In august I got back a letter from this company saying i was dilequent.

I called them back only to hear that they had not recieved the jar and If I did not have proof from my post office I would have to pay the actual $69.95. I went online to see if anyone had had any similiar problems with this company. Much to my dismay yes!! Same complaints and practices by this company.

I then went to BBB and they also had recieved complaints as well. I have since contacted the local media to make consumers aware of this problem. Please investigate this SCAM! They have said I was delinquent for a product which gave me a reaction on my skin, and can possiably hurt my credit if I do not pay the $69.95 S.O.S
