I purchase my Imprezo aids at the Palos Heights, Ill store about 4 years ago. Initially, I was impressed with the care and professionalism of the company. Tried em out for the trial period and purchased the pair for around $4,000. About 6 months later, I asked for a refund. The sounds were muffled, not clear and I just wanted to give my ears a break. Tried calling the owner, but he/she was always out of town? This dragged on for a few more months. Still no reply back from the owner. I hired an attorney who took up the case. Today, the Palos Heights store is closed. The closest store is in Indiana. I have tried wearing them and recently had to the pay them $50 for a battery change. I drove out to Indiana. Today, my "aids" sit at home gathering dust. I want a full refund! Your franchisee ran off with my money as he kept stalling. It outlasted my warranty! Please contact me!

I’ve had a hearing loss since I was 7. Everybody wanted to stick me in hearing aids all through my school years. There was just no way I was gonna do it. Zounds came to Tucson several years ago and they had representatives come out and I decided to try it simply because I can recharge the batteries. I worked with Sarah on the test and she was fantastic. She was a very caring person. She said that she had family that had hearing problems, so she understood what I was going through and she was in the business to help people. She spent a good hour with me and I was totally impressed with her. I told Sarah that hearing aids drive me absolutely crazy. I don't use them in a a conversational type setting because I've lived in a pretty quiet world most of my life, so these things just aggravate me because of the background noises. It just seems that the background noise is amplified no matter what you do.
I never saw the same Zounds people that I originally dealt with twice or if I did, it seemed that they were in a hurry to get over to the Grant Road office. But I couldn't be happier with anybody. I would definitely recommend Sarah. I’m on a very low fixed income, so I have to make these work and Sarah told me that I could call and come back if there was any problem. I am experiencing a muffled feeling with the voice situation, so I might have to go back in and have Sarah adjust them a little bit.

I've tried four or five Zounds hearing aids and I have been 100% pleased. I got the one that has plastic earpieces and it's very good. But I have a little trouble holding on to it as I don't have any feelings in my two fingers and my thumb. Also, when it rains, I have to take them out 'cause they get wet with the speaker being on top. But other than that, I'm pleased with Zounds. It's expensive but the quality is fine. Also, the staff was pleasant. They did a super job during the testing and fitting and they took care of me. My hearing was very poor but since having the hearing aids, it has been good. I've enjoyed Zounds and I've told people how it worked and the luck I had with them.

The hearing aid company that I had went out of business and stopped making hearing aids. I was going back and having them repaired periodically, and I was satisfied with what I had. But it got worse and worse, and the lady that was handling them said that I gotta get something else because their company wasn't gonna do it forever. So, I searched around and Zounds was coming into a thing at that time.
I challenged them once because their advertisement said that if you walked in their door, they would give you a certain price for the hearing aid with all the bells and whistles, including the adjustment pad and the charger for the batteries. So, I came in their store in the mall and said I was ready to sign up. But I told them that I was gonna buy two units and after I bought the first one, I was gonna walk out, then I was gonna come back and I wanted the same deal that they were offering me for the first hearing aid I'd get. But they said that was not what their ad said, so I said goodbye and left them. I wasn't gonna start putting up with stuff like that.
Later on, I went to another branch and they realized that the advertisement was bad, but they said they would honor it for me. So, I got the Zounds for a very economical price. So far, I've been through a few things and the branch that I was dealing with relocated, so I had to go find them. Then one of the hearing aids went bad on me. The guy that I was dealing with said that he could give me a remanufactured one for the one side that was bad. It was gonna cost $150 and he said that it would have a one-year guarantee. So I gave it a try and that worked for a couple of years. Then that one started to go bad again and when it did, the guy at Zounds went bad, too.
Some of the reps at Zounds are good while some of them are bad. As a matter of fact, it was no more than a couple of weeks ago that things went bad. Only one side was working on my unit, so I called them and the girl at this branch told me to bring them in. So, I did and I took one out. Then she told me that she tested it and that the battery was bad. So, they'd have to replace that. Then she told me to give her the other one too, because if that one had gone bad, the other one was gonna go bad, so we might as well change them both out at one time. I said okay and asked how much it was gonna cost me. She said nothing and said that they were guaranteed.
So, she put two new batteries in there and I've been using them ever since. That was the one plus that I ever got out of them. I've had these for 25 years now and I persevere. People just have to repeat what they tell me. One time, I got a phone call and when the guy started talking, I told him to slow down and enunciate his words properly because I couldn't understand him. Then he started getting faster and I told him that he was going fast again. He did that about two or three times, and I hang up on him.
All in all, I wouldn't block Zounds out altogether, but I'm not happy with them. I've had the unit that I have from Zounds, plus another one I got earlier which is over 10 years, and I haven't been satisfied with them since I bought them. You're talking about thousands of dollars worth of products and they just don't work like they claim on the piece of paper. They're all about the same with what other companies offer. When you get them and you tried and used them, they're just nothing. And for Zounds to be taking out full page ads and selling the hearing aids for thousand dollars, they're just overdoing it.
I'm 83 years old and my hearing is pretty bad. But I persevere with it because I can't take any of these expensive type ones, like Miracle-Ear and all these other people. I sit here, I fiddle around with the buttons on the controller, I try and get different combinations, and I just make whatever I can out of them. I'm satisfied with that. These hearing aids, like everybody else's, give you three or four different options. They have regular, normal, and conversation. Then they have eating at a dinner table, or at a music fest. When you pick one of those three, they've got the issue of going plus one, plus two, and plus three. You can go four or five pluses or four or five minuses on either ear. But I really don't understand what are those for.
When we're sitting there eating dinner, I'm clicking this damn thing in my ear and I tell everyone to bear with me. I just have to see what I can get out of my hearing aid, but I never get anything out of it. Also, once the ear pods get worn out, they get a little bit of sore to wear. People that are on a limited income, like myself, can't afford a thousand dollars Zounds. I looked in some of these medical journals and other companies offer hearing aids. They don't claim that they have adjustable ones but they said that they have a hearing device that can help you in a certain capacity for $300. So that's what I'll do because for $300, I can change them every two or three years and out price the Zounds.

I researched hearing aids from coast to coast and I was impressed by the fellow that invented these Zounds hearing aids for his daughter who was very hard of hearing. I also liked the rechargeability of their product, which is a great advantage for older people. I’m 88 years old and when you hit that age, you don’t wanna mess with batteries. Even if the batteries are free, it is irrelevant. If you drop these tiny little things on the ground, you can’t find them.
I’ve been a Zounds wearer for eight years now. My hearing had deteriorated further and I just went in and upgraded to a newer model. I liked the price and availability. You could go from a 16 to a 24 channel for a set of only four bucks over the new 16 channel. Their staff was excellent as well. They were originally a franchise staff and they were very helpful. I was very impressed with the exams that they gave you and how each Zounds earpiece left and right was individually coated for your frequency hearing loss. I’m very happy with Zounds.
Hearing loss is a very individual thing. Some people will get the exact same hearing aids and they’ll say they don’t like it for whatever reason. For me, I just put them in and leave them there. They’re very comfortable and they work fine. And I like the style and the remote capability. I also like the fact that the charger is universal, so no matter where I travel around Europe or in Asia, I just plug it and it works just fine. Also, since the Zounds now here in Tucson is selling direct from the manufacturer and no longer going through a franchise holder, the prices are very competitive and the quality is very high. I told many friends and several friends to purchase from Zounds.

I was dealing with a partial hearing loss and a lady that I live with told us about Zounds when it first came to Tucson. I was impressed with the hearing aids so I went there. Their staff was very nice, and the testing and fitting process went very well. I ended up with a behind-the-ear hearing aid and there is something in the canal. In terms of the cost compared to the quality of my hearing aid, it was very reasonable. My son has hearing aids also for several years, and he along with my daughter went with me. He told his brother when we came home that my Zounds hearing aids were twice as good as his and half the expense. It's been a good experience and I recommend Zounds.
Dear Marion,

I have partial hearing loss and I’ve been using hearing aids for about 15 years. I liked the quality of the hearing aid from Zounds so I bought from them. Its features are pretty good but I changed to a different Zounds company a few months back because I wasn’t happy with one of the new guys at my old Zounds company. Other than that, their hearing aid is pretty cheap but has a good quality.

I had been wearing hearing aids for a couple of years when a friend of mine referred me to Zounds. She said how much she liked them so I went down there. I liked the idea that I didn’t have to change batteries and that they were rechargeable. I’ve had the hearing aids for about six years now and they're gonna have to be replaced soon because the life of hearing aids is not forever. Sometimes they work better than other times. But the best thing is that the service part of Zounds has always been excellent.
I did the fitting when Zounds was down on Graham. But they had an office up on Magee, which was close to me, so I moved to that office. Then something screwy went on with that office. They still continued to service my hearing aid for me but they apparently lost the franchise. So now I go to the place across the street, which is at Oracle and Magee, and they’re fine. They replace batteries, clean the hearing aids and check things for me. I’ve never had to pay for anything and I’ve been very satisfied. I have also recommended Zounds to friends of mine.

I had a significant hearing loss. At that time, Zounds seemed anxious to get the hearing aids out to the customer and they were providing good service. Also, the price was good and compared with other hearing aids, Zounds was a lot better and they were hands down. I bought the Clareza, which is behind the ear. One hearing aid always seemed to have a low volume. I used the fob to turn it up and every now and then, I've got to do the same thing again. It seems to be losing volume.
Since it's been a while, Sarah she said we should do a whole hearing test and see how my hearing is. The high frequencies were off quite a bit. After they readjusted my present hearing aids, Sarah tried to convince me to buy a pair of the new ones, which had 32 channels. Mine had 16 channels. I told her I didn't wanna buy something if I don’t know if I'd like it or not. She said I could turn it back in within 30 days. I said I didn't think so and asked if they had any that had been turned in that I could use as a loan. She did and borrowed them for a week.
Sarah said they could fix it and she was right. She adjusted them to my profile. Even my wife said my hearing was really good because she never had to repeat. Everything is loud and clear to me. I made an offer because they can't resell them as new ones, but the company only wanted to give me $100 off on a new pair. I told them that didn't work. I've never seen used hearing aids being worth 95% of its value. I was disappointed there, but that’s life in the fast lane.
Zounds had an office close to our house and it was run terribly. The guy there wasn’t there as much as he should have been. They moved to a temporary facility about 20 miles from my house, and then they moved to a more permanent facility which was another couple of miles farther. However, when you walk in, it looks like they're there only temporarily. Everybody’s temporary. They have no freezer. They have a water cooler, a coffee maker and a display case with nothing in it. It looks like they don’t wanna spend the money to present themselves as a professional hearing company. In plain English, they wanna be very cheap about it. However, I thought they've gone beyond what they've been required to satisfy their customers.
Hello John, thank you for visiting our new Corporate location and for your review. I am glad Sara was able to help you improve your ability to hear. We have just recently moved into our permanent office and are still getting furnishings and decor delivered. We hope to have it completed soon.

In 10-30-2015 my father-in-law Richard ** purchased a pair of Zounds hearing aids. Never could get them to working correctly. So I bought him a new pair from a Facebook ad. He now hears better for less money. If anyone that is connected to the Zounds Hearing Aids is reading this it would be nice to refund his money. If you are reputable company you will do the right thing. No questions asked.
Dear Mr. Ellison,
It has been almost three years since your father-in-law purchased his hearing aids. His full name was not included in your review, therefore I cannot look up his history. We offer aftercare for the life of the hearing aid and would be happy to assist him with refining his fitting, should he decide to come in for a consultation.

I had pretty severe hearing loss and after the staff at Zounds diagnosed my condition, she offered me the behind the ear hearing aids. It fits very well, and it's the second pair of hearing aids that I had and these are better than the others. Also, I had no problems making appointments with Zounds. I had very friendly and professional interactions with their staff.

My hearing started to go 10 years ago. I had hearing aids from Adobe Hearing, but I was not happy with them. With it, the hearing was not good and I could not hear people’s conversation when sitting in groups or in my bible study group. When my husband saw Zounds' ad in the paper, we decided to try them and be tested. I really like everything about my Zounds hearing aid, including the way it fits. It has the piece behind the ear and it has this little controller to turn things up or down. I can adjust it to my environment and the sound around me. It has a music, party, regular and dining mode feature and you can control the treble and bass with it too. But it is not really good in trying to cut out background noise, though everybody has trouble with that.
This Zounds hearing aid is my third set and although the cost is hefty, I am happy with what it does. Everybody at Zounds has been very good and I've had wonderful treatment, but I've had to change places 'cause the one little place that I’ve first gone to is not there anymore. Other than that, they have given good service and their hearing aids are working very well. Putting my hearing aids on is one of the things I do when I get up in the morning and start my day. And I have had friends tell me that I am the only one that they know that has put a set of hearing aid in and never complained. It gives me a quality of life that I wouldn't have without it and I’ve recommended them to people.

I have a partial hearing loss. If I'm home and I take the hearing aids out. I can still hear the TV and I'd just have to turn it up a little louder than normal. Hearing conversation sometimes is difficult, however. I knew someone that works at Zounds. She was in the same church I'm in. Also, I knew that my pastor had also gotten Zounds, so that was where I went. I got the unit that cost about four grand. The handheld remote allows me to change from dining to other situations. It also allows me to turn it off completely down, as well as adjust the treble and bass.
The customer service at Zounds has been excellent, too. I had to go in one time to have them adjusted because I didn’t think they were working quite right, and what it turned out to be was one of them was clogged up with earwax. So, the rep showed me how to clean it and then gave me one of the tools that he uses to clean it. Now, I can take care of it myself. The people have always been really nice to be with. My hearing aids have impacted my life greatly. I can hear things now, and I can identify sounds. I'm happy to have them. Ironically, I run the sound system at my church and it's now easier to do that because I can hear what other people are hearing and what they should be hearing. I'm not asking everybody to repeat themselves anymore, which is always kind of embarrassing.
Dear David,
Thank you for your review of our hearing aids and service. It is great to hear that you are enjoying them. We are always here if you need adjustments or assistance with their maintenance.

My brother-in-law got hearing aids from Zounds and just raved about them. Although my hearing loss was bad, I waited until we moved here and went to Zounds because their location in Atlanta where we lived had closed. And I'm glad I did because Jean, the rep here, is amazing. She made that whole experience so much better. She's so patient and kind. All she deals with are the elderly and everybody loves her.
Jean spent a lot of time with me and my husband to understand everything. Before, nobody ever explained anything about my hearing loss. It means so much to me to have somebody that I can talk to about it and with Jean, you feel like you're not alone and just trying to figure things out. Also, the Zounds hearing aid is fantastic! We got the best model and we like all the benefits of it. I can hear people talking to me now and it's wonderful. I did not realize how much I was missing before. There's also an app that you can use to adjust the sound into different modes.
Dear Lynn,
Thank you for your review. It is wonderful to hear that you are enjoying your new hearing aids as much as your brother-in-law has. Please thank him on our behalf for sending you to us. Your comments about Jean are also appreciated. She truly cares about her customers and does her best to provide the upmost in service. That fact that she is just naturally nice helps! Thank you again.

I had partial hearing loss. Before I went to Zounds, I had a full testing by somebody that had a complete test set-up and a full evaluation. So, the people at Zounds only did a minimal amount of testing to me and programmed the unit based on the tests I received. I got the hearing aid model that is behind the ear. The controls on the remote are easy to use and I can control my bass and treble. It works and I've been able to adjust it. Although, it's very difficult when in a noisy restaurant or a party setting that the hearing aid doesn't do that much. I have to eliminate the background speech and noise and I get rid of something that's part of a normal speech.
Nevertheless, the people at Zounds are good and cooperative. One time, they wanted to change the batteries and I felt that there was no need to change it. The batteries are rechargeable and they are all doing fine. Now, I can talk to people and I can hear the church service. I’m like a normal person and Zounds made it more enjoyable. I'm glad I bought these hearing aids.

I have problems with high frequency when I'm in places where there is background noise. My mother recommended Zounds which was where she was getting her hearing aids from. Testing and fitting the hearing aid was a two-person operation and they got the job done. The main person went over everything with me and managed through many tests. She also fit me with the hearing aids and helped me adjust them. The other person did everything else.
I got the model that goes over the ear with a wire and it plugs into the ear with a little plastic. It tickles the earlobes a bit but it's not too bad. The fit is not perfect though and I'll have to get it adjusted. I'm constantly pushing it back up in the ear when I wear them. But my hearing is not that bad overall and I don't wear the hearing aids all the time. But they're very helpful when I do utilize them in a loud restaurant or a place where there's music in the background or a lot of people talking. I've also been back to Zounds twice. I went in once to get a battery. Then I also had a minor problem with one of the hearing aids and I had to send it out to be repaired. But they gave me a temporary pair, which I returned to them afterwards. Overall, the experience has been good and I would highly recommend Zounds.
Dear Randy,
Thank you for your review. Hearing in noisy settings is one the biggest issues for those with hearing loss. Sam and our team of engineers put great effort into developing technology that would eliminate up to 90% of background noise because we understand this. Thank you for commenting on our staff as well, they are committed to helping our customers get the most from their hearing aids and I will pass on your comments.

My girlfriend got her hearing aids from Zounds and then recommended the company to me. I got the rechargeable hearing aids that go over the ear. They were very expensive though. They were custom-made and I paid about $200 for it. But it was worth it because I was afraid I was gonna lose them. When I go out and I wanna see a stage show, I wear the hearing aids when the people are singing so I can hear it. And I make the hearing aids nice and loud. It's hard for me to hear the television though. Nonetheless, I would and I have recommended Zounds.

I took my elderly mother to a Zounds because a friend referred me to them. She knew the owner and trusted her. Kelly performed the hearing test and promptly informed me she did indeed need hearings aid. $4000.00 later we had the aids but Kelly could never get them to fit in my mother’s ears properly. Fast forward 2 years later and they need receivers. They are junk. They wanted to charge $300.00 to repair them and couldn’t guarantee that they would last very long. I now have to purchase new hearing aids. Kelly works for Beltone now and she wanted me to buy the new hearing aids from her. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Never again. Do not buy Zounds or Beltone hearing aids! I just wish someone would have warned me.
Dear Dixie,
The hearing center you are reviewing is no longer a Zounds franchise location. The receivers you mention can be repaired at our Corporate facility in Chandler, Arizona. Replacements would cost you less than $50 per aid, not $300. We will also clean the aids and run a full diagnostic on them free of charge. We are happy to support your mom as a valued Zounds customer.

I've been using ZOUNDS for the last 15 years. I got the 20-channel one which was on sale then. I can hear better and I find them comfortable. Their reps treated me fairly but I did not find the company easy to deal with. I had a problem with the hearing aid and they told me that they couldn't fix them. They have rebuilt ones but to me, a rebuilt one is the one that doesn't have a problem and has been repaired. They wanted to sell me another hearing aid for $1000. I don't want to spend that amount so I'm gonna look for a different company.
Also, I went to see them about a week ago. They had a young lady in the office who could change batteries but she didn't know anything else because she told me that I had to come back and see someone the next day. It just made it hard for me to make two or three trips to get one thing done. Before, I would tell others to buy ZOUNDS. But now, not anymore. I thought it was a good product and reasonably priced. However, their products are reasonably priced when they're on sale but when they're not, the price is outrageous.

For quite a while, many people had told me to turn the TV down because I had it too loud. At Zounds, I worked with Sherry but she wasn’t certified yet so another girl took care of me and they were both excellent. I’m now on my second hearing aid. But I paid $999 for it and after I bought that one, Zounds came out with one that’s almost the same and it was either $400 or $600. That aside, I think the model’s great. I have the remote and I can now turn it up or down and change whenever I want. The best thing I like about it is I don’t have to buy batteries. When the batteries go bad, I take it in and Zounds puts a new battery in. But this model goes over the ear then I push it in and I have trouble getting it in. I have to wet the earpiece and then my ear inside before I can get it to go in. I’ve been fighting with that since I got the new one. But the lady at Zounds was very good about it. She tried a couple of different ones and it’s worked better.

All my kids weren’t going to buy me something for Christmas, but they said that I should take the money and buy myself some hearing aids instead, 'cause I wasn't gonna be able to watch my grandchildren until I got hearing aids. My hearing loss was bad before having the Zounds hearing aids. I was young when began to have hearing aids. I had a middle ear infection so that ruptured my eardrums. I tried this other firm and this other distributor but I was not successful with those hearing aids and I returned them since I had the 30-day trial period. Thereafter, my sister had read an article about Zounds and told me about it. The fact that their hearing aids could recharge themselves was enough to make me be interested in trying them. I used the Zounds hearing aids when I was in Pennsylvania.
Now, my hearing loss is in the 2nd phase so I needed a stronger power at hearing aids. And so, I have the Imprezo 20P, which was from 2012 and so they’re 6 years old. I'm very happy with the hearing aid’s features. The only thing that I have major complaints about is the fact that I had to move here in Florida, and all the places around, such as in Delray Beach in Boca, in Marco Island, in Naples and in Fort Myers, where I used to get services for my hearing, are closed now, which has been a problem. Now, they're only doing corporate stores.
Also, nobody else will service my hearing aids. If I go to another provider, such as Hear.com, and try getting them to assist me, they just tell me to call Zounds and mail the hearing aids back to them. I went to the store in Bensalem Neshaminy Mall and the girl there was wonderful, and so was the girl in Miami. Both of them were very thorough. The one on Miami has a sound booth in her office so she can do the testing right in her office.
I always had the testing process with some kind of a cup that goes in your ear. And this time, they put a more of a sponge type hearing thing, and it doesn't sound as muffled. It sounds a bit clearer than the other end that they were using. Another is that I was happy with the cost of Zounds’ hearing aids. When I first bought the first pair, they were $2,400 and that was with the charging station. The case was extra, but I was happy with that. Zounds has gone up in the years that I've worn them.
With the Zounds hearing aids, I am able to enjoy my grandchildren and feel more comfortable driving because I can hear horn sounds than people having conversations in the car. They're certain tricks that I learn along the way that are helpful. When I go to restaurants, I've learned over the years that I need to sit with my back against the wall so I don't pick up a lot of background noises. There is also a remote that can help with that as well. I have recommended Zounds to my aunt and mom and they have bought hearing aids from them.

I had a set of hearing aids about 10 years ago, and they were getting old. I was also having more difficulty hearing. I was impressed with the owner of Zounds and why he did it to help his hearing-impaired daughter. So, when I saw their advertisement, I called them up. I interacted with their rep, Jeanne, and I can't say enough good about her. She was fantastic, didn't pressure me, and explained everything very thoroughly. I went through the hearing test which I also had when I got my first hearing aid but I didn't have that explanation at that time. Jeanne was so good about that and I could see where I was and why I needed the better hearing aid.
And so, I bought the expensive hearing aids from them. Since I'm spending money, I might as well get the best. It cost a little more than half of what I paid for the other one but it's 50% better. Now, I have less trouble with wind noise. I got the behind-the-ear style and it's not as susceptible to that as the in-the-canal one that I had before. I can also hear music and conversation better. All in all, my experience with Zounds Hearing Aids was very good.

My hearing loss was minimal and I was not able to understand certain words. I went to Zounds to look for and buy a hearing aid. I bought the top brand that has the little thing that I adjust for different sounds when I put the hearing aids in both of my ears. The hearing aids are fine but I'm upset about its price. A couple of days after I got them, I saw an ad in the newspaper for something that cost a lot less than I what paid for my hearing aids. I paid around $3400 but on the ad I saw the price was $999 and it looked like the same thing. They were on sale but there was nothing I could do about that. But if I waited a couple of days, I would have gotten the hearing aids a lot cheaper. Other than that, I can hear what everybody is saying in the room with my Zounds hearing aids and now I have no problem at all if I go out to visit people. I would tell my friends to try them.

I have almost a full loss of hearing and at the time that I was looking for somebody, Zounds was the only one that available. I called them and they told me to go there. I got a model that was, at that time, the best thing for me. It has always been okay and all I have to do is go back there and change the batteries more often than before. In my next visit, they're gonna look at the modem to see if there's something wrong with it. I go over to Zounds any time when they're there which is usually on Monday, Wednesday or Friday. The staff are very nice, they take care of me when I have a problem and I thank them for it. I'm very satisfied.
During the testing and fitting of the hearing aid, I was in a booth like everybody else. The staff did the best they could to base off my problem. I like the hearing aid when I'm by myself like when I watch TV. But when I have company, it's hard to pick up their voices from the hearing aid. The hearing aid should be better than what I got but I have a deaf ear and there's nothing I can do when I can't afford high new technologies out of my line. Their staff said it would cost about $3000 to $5000 a piece. I’m retired so I have to live with what I got.

My husband and I had a very caring and professional personnel do the testing and fitting for the Zounds hearing aid. We were very happy with the girl that did it. We had it done a couple of years ago at the same place and by somebody else. But this girl seemed more thorough as she told me us more things about it. We really appreciated all that she told us. She was very pleasant and nice to work with. It also wasn't too much for her to answer our questions.
We paid $3,000 for the hearing aids. We're retired and we are on a very tight fixed income so that's all we could really afford. My husband's other pair of hearing aids was four years old and was really bad. He could not hear with them. But these new ones had made a tremendous difference. My daughter comes every week with her children really noticed the difference. I would recommend Zounds if that's something that people wanna go for. We were very happy with the service and happy with them now. For what we paid, we're doing very well with them.

We were in our winter home with my two sons and we drove by and saw Zounds. It sounded pretty good to me so I walked in then walked out two hours later with the hearing aid. Their staff was amazing and the product was outstanding. John was in charge of the staff and his personnel was exemplary. I got a birthday card from the staff and they all thanked me for shopping and for participating. They considered me part of the family so I was impressed. Their service was outstanding as well.
I live in a remote area in North Dakota and the hearing aid is not readily available everywhere. One time, I lost one of the hearing aids and it was replaced after I paid the deposit on it. I would send stuff in for repair and the people there would have a turnaround day instead of having to wait six to eight weeks or sometimes they would put it in the first priority mailing. And they have it in two days and I have it back in a week. Another thing that impressed me the most was when I went in there to have my check. The nearest Zounds is in the Minneapolis area about 400 miles and when I went in, I wanted to have my batteries change in my hearing aids. A technician, Sara, was there at the office in Tucson. She was very capable and very persuasive. Then the next thing I know they told me that I'll get a bill of their new hearing aid and the aids were the new top of the line with 32 channels. They gave me an exemplary price on it that I couldn't say no. So, I applaud that.
I have never been more pleased and satisfied. I could hear my wife washing dishes across the room but before that, she'd say, "What did you say?" or, "What did you think I said?" because I couldn't hear her. Zounds has been an absolute change in my lifestyle. I can hear my grandkids, even if we have a bird haven and we can sit in the evening and listen to birds singing. The product itself is the best on the market and from what I have seen.

I knew my hearing was bad because for years and years, it affected my performance at my job, my life, and in watching television. The rep from Zounds, Danny, suggested that I get the Riazo model for my hearing. Price point, it was 2600 bucks, but I went with his suggestion. It changed my life and I love it. When I put it in its charger, it recharges. Plus, I've got a remote where I can raise the volume and lower it if I choose to. I can also turn it on and off at night when I put it in and I can put it in my ear then hit the "on" switch and it gives me that little 'tudoo' sound to let me know that it's on.
Recently, the hearing aid wasn't working. I called them in advance and asked when I could get in, then Danny asked what time I wanted to on Tuesday. So, I went to see him two weeks ago and he replaced the batteries as well as the hearing bud that goes in my ear to make it more comfortable. He's an absolute pleasure to deal with and very professional. If everybody in retail was like him, everybody would be doing business.

My hearing loss was profound and although it was a partial hearing loss, I had trouble discerning and hearing conversations. I made an appointment and walked in at Zounds Hearing. I was slightly late because I didn't know exactly where I was going. The staff that assisted me was busy but she came right out and I had a wonderful experience in getting tested and fitted with the hearing aid. Its process was very simple. I went through the various sounds, modes, frequencies, and speech. As it would have turned out, it was comfortable, and all have been great ever since.
I got their behind-the-ear hearing aid and my insurance paid for it. Zounds Hearing's hearing aids are not battery driven and I can just recharge it. It's simple and I can adjust the hearing aid with the remote. I know people that have much more expensive hearing aids but they aren't half as happy. But mine looks like some medium priced for some deaf person but it’s just great. With Zounds Hearing, I can hear what's going on around me. I love it and I recommended it to my mother-in-law.

Zounds had that remote where you can adjust things and I liked that. I got their hearing aids and I've been wearing them for a while now. In fact, I just upgraded. My hearing has been good with the Zounds hearing aids. I'm very pleased with them and the hearing aids are worth the money because you don't have to buy batteries all the time. They are great. I was in pretty bad shape and I didn't hear very well at all. I shopped around for hearing aids and Zounds Hearing Aids was recommended to me. The hearing aids I got from them was 2000 bucks a piece. I was trying to get quality and a full range of hearing. I paid a little too much for it but I was looking more at something local. If I have a problem, I didn't have to ship the hearing aids off for two weeks to get them fixed.
Fitting and testing the hearing aids went really well and the rep, Karen, has done an excellent job on the service. However, I work outside in my backyard and I sweat a lot and I get a problem with my hearing aids when they get wet. This is Texas and everybody sweats down here. I've got the little socks on them now and that helps. But considering how much I paid for them, I expect it to be a little more durable than they are regarding water resistance. Other than that, I have recommended Karen and her shop, as well as Zounds when asked.

And so I said, "Well, there's no time like now to try them". I have been very satisfied with Zounds so far. I have had a very good attendant to the office where I got them. I've gone out three times just on the spur of the moment where I didn't even have an appointment and he had always been good to help me as soon as he could. One time, he came out and answered a question and then he said he was with a patient. I said, "Well, go right ahead. I'll come back later." But he was kind enough to come out and check with me when I came in. They were very good to help me whenever I need it. Zounds is better than another one that I looked at, which was much more expensive than this one. So I was glad to have this one because it has done very well.

We paid $68,000 for a pair of hearing aids a number of years ago and they weren't worth a penny. A friend who has used Zounds then recommended them to us, telling us that we will really like them. Indeed, Zounds have been the best hearing aids we've ever had. And my husband has had six different kinds. We've asked companies to take us off their mailing lists because my husband gets the best hearing aids at Zounds and he wouldn't go anyplace else. First, they only charge $3,000 for two units, which was a bargain. You can't beat that. Then, when we had to get the old unit fixed, it only cost us $300. Other companies would charge us $600. They also provided another unit while they were fixing the one we had.
The first Zounds hearing aids my husband had was the best that they had at that time. Then, he got a new set three weeks ago and the engineers worked on it. They're really good and where his hearing chart went way down, it covers the particular channels and it makes it a lot easier for him. Also, the new one stays in his ear and he doesn't have to keep pushing them in and adjust them. The batteries last a year, maybe a little less if the batteries are flawed. But the best thing with Zounds is that, if the batteries go out, they replace them without any problem for a lifetime. Who else is gonna do that?
That to me is a real asset because with the other ones, we had to go and buy the batteries and replace them. We had to put in new batteries every month if not more often. Then when you put the batteries in, sometimes they fall out because there's no way to really sink them in there. With Zounds, they're inside and you don't have to worry about them falling out. Also, Jean here in Green Valley is one wonderful representative for Zounds. She answers all kinds of questions and she always has time for you. If she's got a lot of people there she'll tell you to wait for a bit and that she'll be with you shortly. Also, if there's something wrong, we go in there and tell her and she straightens it out for us or she finds out for sure from the engineers. If you want a good set of hearing aids, go with Zounds. Everybody who needs hearing aids should go to ZOUNDS.

I bought the product three years ago in Florida. The HA themselves are very good. I had Miracle Ear and didn't care for the product. Zounds had a better product. But then they overnight went out of business. The Florida agent was helpful, the Michigan office was closed. I set an appointment in Fla. for new batteries, you can't get them anywhere, they are rechargeable, a nice feature, but the agent put me off until they were closed. They farmed me out to a local hearing center who gave me new batteries, but she only had a small supply and will soon run out. You cannot buy the batteries on the open market or the black market. Apparently they are Zounds specific. So now I AM OUT $4,000 for the Zounds, $6000 for the Miracle Ear and nowhere to go for new batteries. The Zounds family founders are a bunch of highway robbers. I am not saying don't buy their product, because you couldn't if you wanted to. What a crock of crap they are.

I purchased 2 Trezio hearing aids from the local store in May 2016, with a 3 year warranty. From the beginning I have had issues with pieces breaking, pins coming out, charger not working. However for the most part, the local store was able and willing to repair with no problems. About 9 months or so ago, the Zounds store changed hands and became Better Hearing Center. The manager there said they would cover the warranty of any Zounds product and he did replace some parts for me. Now I find out that the owners of this franchise have gone bankrupt and all the employees were let go and the two stores closest to me have closed without warning.
From the reviews I have read on this site, this appears to be widespread throughout a number of states. We, as customers, who need to have the hearing aids, should not have to mail them to Arizona for repair and not be assured that we will get them back in working order within a reasonable amount of time. We should not have to pay for shipping and not have to wait weeks for them to be returned. I am waiting now for a call back from the Arizona office. Shall see what happens.

We had friends who had hearing aids from Zounds and they were very pleased so we decided to try that since my husband has a partial but pretty severe hearing loss. After he has worn them all day, one of them in particular bothers him and he has to take it out but basically, he doesn’t have any discomfort from it. Also, they’re very expensive. It’s frustrating because he apparently has auditory nerve damage so they didn’t really do any good. But he wears them and he said sometimes they help. It takes us over an hour to reach the office but the staff has been great and aside from the hearing aids, they have helped with his hearing loss by encouraging him to have audio books or reading aloud to encourage his hearing. If I have mild hearing loss and if I ever need hearing aids, I would certainly go to Zounds.

I had a very bad ear infection a few years back and it totally destroyed my one ear. When I had my first hearing test, I wasn’t pleased with the company. I didn’t know if they were gonna be around for a long period of time and it was an ENT office. I wasn’t ready. And everyone I talked to said hearing aids were the worst thing in the whole world and they didn’t work and didn’t help, so I put it off. Then a friend got hearing aids from Zounds Hearing and he said he absolutely loved them. I made an appointment immediately and I loved them.
I was impressed with the hearing test that the staff gave. She showed me everything that I have seen once before from a hearing test, so I knew I wasn’t just being told that I need it because I really had looked into it. I knew what I needed and I had to be happy with the person I was going to. I was surprised that the hearing aids weren’t more expensive. I kept telling myself that they were way too expensive and I couldn’t afford them. Everyone that I talked to said that their hearing aids were about $2,000 each but they didn’t like those. They complained and they said they were no good. They said that they had so much background noise and they didn’t like them, so they didn’t wear them. I knew that if I was going to get some, I needed something better than what they were getting.
I got the ones with the little tube in the ear and they have the 32 channels that they can program. I did not want earbuds because I used to try putting an earbud in and have it stay, but it would go out. My husband decided that I would have the 32 and he said that’s what we’ll get. I love the fact that I don’t have to put a battery in because I have arthritis in my fingers and there’s no way I could put in little batteries. I just plug them in and they get recharged every night and that is a biggie for me. I’ve noticed a big change because I couldn’t hear anyone whispering at all and I could hardly hear my husband because his voice fails off. My boss’ voice failed off and now I can hear whatever I wanna hear. I’ve already recommended someone who went in and got them the day after me.

I came away unimpressed when I was first at Zounds over two years ago. I have a partial hearing loss and my basic gut reaction was that I paid way too much for the Imprezo model. One time, I went to a dinner with my family and then a sister-in-law with an exuberant hug hit me in the left ear and knocked my hearing aid out as I walked in the door. I went through 3.5 hours of family get together and I didn't know the hearing aid in my left ear was missing until I got home and started to put them on charge. I reached for the left one first and it wasn't there. It took two days before somebody found it luckily not in a traffic pattern in the house. What was frustrating is I had a $6,000 pair of hearing aids and I didn't even know I had lost one.
I didn't have a good experience and I didn't wear the hearing aids for two years. My impression, though, of Zounds has changed considerably with the two-year later visit. I will be meeting with a technician who is very helpful. His name is Jeff and he said that he would get me caught up with the hearing aid so that they are functioning better. Furthermore, he said I have a heavy earwax build-up in my left ear and told me how to correct it. So now, I started that correction that Jeff instructed me on and then we'll proceed with getting back on track with the hearing aid.

I've used Zounds hearing aids for several years now and the aids are OK but the company is terrible. They've had 3 or 4 locations in my area (Central Florida) open then close and now they're nowhere near me. I went back several times with adjustments, including loud noises in restaurants and not being able to hear conversations at our table, (This problem still exists.), premature battery failure and wire breakage on hearing aid.
I am now having problems with my right aid. I called and found out all four area Zounds stores are now closed. I finally got a number for a location in North Ft. Myers that would service it, but they want $295 to do so. These $4300 hearing aids are not at all what I expected. It appears that Bob is a lot better salesman than product he is selling. I called the 800 number and was presented with music and then abrupt silence. The Zounds owner stated he got into the business to help his Hearing Impaired daughter. That's fine, but what about all the people who can't get satisfaction and in my case, can't hear any high pitched noises at all! P.S. By the way, Mr. BIG SHOT Bob ** is nowhere to be found.

I lost hearing when I was 33 years old when I had an ischemic attack way back when I was 33 years old. So, as a result of that, I never heard anything out of that ear. However, my right ear has taken me through getting Master's degree and teaching for 24 years. And I was beginning to have the sounds that didn't sound correctly. I couldn't make all the words sometimes. It was a nuisance. It started to affect my teaching, which was one of the reasons why I retired. It was then I've tried a couple of other hearing aids and they were never effective until I tried Zounds.
A friend of ours had a son who started Zounds in Fishers, Indiana. He was bragging about his wonderful new Zounds hearing aid and he was extolling the virtues of the Zounds. He put one of the hearing aids to my husband's ear and my husband was very impressed. So, we went all the way to Fishers because there were no Zounds where we were. We went to Fishers to have a regular checking. The hearing aid model I have is Clareza. I still have the original one and I still like it. The hearing aid saved us from a life of not being able to enjoy good music and the television, and neighbors and friends.
Although my only problem is I wear it all day and by night time, I have irritation and an allergy on my deaf ear. I got some drops for the itching. It was something with the surrounding materials in the product. When we found that we have Zounds here locally, we were elated and it has spread to several more cities in our Lake County area. The reps in the local Zounds where we went to were very helpful, very nice to deal with, and very caring. Cynthia is the one who runs, handles the people and she also does the testing, and she fixes too. If something has gone out of the whack, she does it and she's very willing and capable. We have something very good.
It was wonderful that even though it wasn't their sale, they took over and concertedly, they've been very good about treating our problems, which were definitely very minor. Zounds’ people are conscientious, even when you open the door to go into their business. Any receptionist that they've ever had were very accommodating. Also, my husband had one ear bothering him. And so has the Torza and he has it for about six months. He has been very happy with his hearing aid and my husband feels it's normal. He’s 92 years old and he was starting to have problems. He had the hearing aid readjusted recently again as his hearing aid started to go bad.

I sent an email to the Zounds customer service department, and got a prompt reply, on March 19th, telling me to have her ship them into their Arizona location for repair. If it took them 47 days to answer an email, I can’t imagine how long it would take them to repair and return her hearing aids! My mother is doing good with Zounds Hearing. We've been having a lot of trouble. She has a very small ear canal and the local Zounds office made little cups that go into her ear better than the probes and they seem to be doing a little bit better that way. We were very happy with the service that Zounds at Crown Point gave us. Cynthia, who assisted us, was excellent. My mother had her testing done. We had taken her to the ear, nose and the throat doctor and he did the testing on her hearing. He gave us reports which we took the reports to Cynthia and then she analyzed them. When we're setting up the hearing aid, she was doing some minor voice recognition with my mom. She had adjusted her hearing aids a couple of times because my mom was hearing too much background noise.
We took my mom back and Cynthia redirected the receivers. She explained that it takes a good two weeks of wearing them constantly and my mom being in an assisted living, we have trouble having her wearing them constantly during the day. The hearing aids were extremely expensive then. But she did come with a little bit of a break. I paid through my credit card right away. And after we got it, we saw the model we have was being advertised by Zounds for a reduced price. I've seen the paper probably two weeks later that it's almost half the price and at the time I was upset.

I was checked by my ENT and went to Zounds, and they both told me that I have a significant hearing loss. I went online and looked at what each hearing aid company had to offer and I decided that Zounds was my first choice to check out. I was impressed with their price and I also wanted to use my CareCreditcard and Zounds was one of the companies that accepted that. So while I was there, I decided to go stay with Zounds. They brought out and showed me the CENTA hearing aid. They’re easy to charge up and I’m really glad that I don’t have to mess with changing batteries because these two have the rechargeable ones. They were also easy to use but they take some getting used to and sometimes they are uncomfortable. I had tried to use the one on the left about four times and I wasn’t hearing anything out of it at all.
I was not very happy about that so I went back to the office the other day, but I didn’t speak to Sarah, the one who’s usually there with whom I made my appointment with. But there was another guy there who was able to help me. He looked at it and said it had earwax in it. He cleaned it and when he took it out, he said he could hear the feedback. He also said some people come in after a year and have never cleaned their hearing aids and just to redo the rechargeable batteries. I must have more earwax in my left ear because I took them out of my ear yesterday and the right one seems to be fine. So, he gave it to me and I’ve monitored that a little closer.
Also, the right ear seems to feel sore sometimes when I put the little thing down in my ear. So he gave me a little sample of MiraCell which I have to put a little drop in my ear and that might lubricate it a bit so my ear wouldn't feel sore while the hearing aid is in there. I also told him about background noise that I was getting a lot of sometimes. I was in a restaurant last night and it was hard to stay on track of the conversations going on in my table because the background noise was so loud. He told me that a lot of it was just to train myself to concentrate more, and if it remained a problem for me, I could go come back and they could make adjustments to each side and see if they could help with that. But overall, wearing the CENTA hearing aids makes a considerable difference. Now, I’m asking people why they’re making so much noise, why is the TV up so loud and why is someone doing something so loudly. It’s unbelievable.

Joseph was having severe hearing loss. He saw Zounds Hearing’s ad in the paper and before Christmas time, they were having a sale on some of their brands. We went to the Zounds store and their reps knew what they were doing. He wears the hearing aids most of the time and now he can really hear me better.
Hello Marie,
Thank you for the review and update on Joseph. The store staff were very happy to hear that he is doing so well with the hearing aids they helped him select. Hearing loved ones is one of the greatest gifts you receive when you get hearing aids. Best of luck to you both.

I have been a long time Zounds customer since purchasing my first hearing in Fort Myers, FL. I bought my second aid in Roswell, GA. Apparently because these are independent retailers, they open and close in the blink of an eye. I have $4,000 worth of hearing aids that now need batteries and for some odd reason, the batteries for Zounds Hearing Aids can’t be found anywhere except at a Zounds location. I live in Atlanta, GA and I can’t find a location within my REGION (as in I’m willing to travel out of state to get my battery) that is open so that I can have my hearing aid working again. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! Why is Zounds using a battery for the Imprezo that can’t even be ordered on Amazon or by a Battery Distributor?! I am not comfortable, at all, sending off my $4,000 hearing aids as the reviews for such with Zounds are horrendous and I am out for WEEKS without the use of my hearing aids.
I don’t want to be “talked into” sending my aids to Arizona for them to be “inspected, the battery replaced and returned” to me. That is not acceptable. I am willing to replace the battery myself if I could just find someone or someplace that carries it!!! Inspecting my aid in Arizona is going to do jack-squat for me here. I would MUCH PREFER Zounds to send me a handful of rechargeable batteries and let me replace it myself. As soon as I can, I will be switching to ReSounds hearing aids as they have distributors all over, including worldwide and they are willing to do any repairs IN FRONT OF YOU. None of this “central repair location” crap. I’m not new to hearing aids or how the system works. I have had one since I was 12, I am now 36. I used to have an Oticon in-ear hearing aid, I had a ReSounds for a short period and then was so impressed with the technology of Zounds that I switched to them for my hearing aid needs. BIGGEST MISTAKE I HAVE MADE!!!
Now that ReSounds has much better and much more advanced technology than Zounds, I will be switching ASAP. Unfortunately hearing aids are expensive and my aid doesn’t have any issues except needing the rechargeable battery replaced. Zounds, all I want is a handful of batteries sent to me at my home so that I can use the $4,000 devices that I have purchased and otherwise are useless and wasteful without a battery. I don’t want to send it off. I don’t care “how good” or “how important” it is to “have it inspected”. Obviously, Zounds is crashing at a lightning speed and they won’t be around much longer — as in I see them dying out within weeks. I do see that they respond to Consumer Affairs reviews and I would like to be contacted regarding this issue. I’ve been a customer since 2009, the least you can do is provide me with a batteries to make my devices work! -Angered In Atlanta

Purchased my hearing aids on March 28th 2016 for $4200 with a 3 year warranty, free hearing test, adjustments, and batteries from the Green Bay Wisconsin store. Had nothing but issues since purchasing and the store now closed. Still have another year left on warranty. Corporate office does not reply or respond like they say they will. Have been trying to get answers for months and couldn’t get any, so I had to purchase new hearing aids from another source.
Finally today after calling numerous time and being told they were going to call me back and not following through. Three weeks later that is, I receive a call telling me they will not refund my money and I will have to send them to Corporate for anything that needs to be done with them. This is not what I expected when I bought them originally. How can a company expect a person to be without proper hear for weeks or months in my case? Zounds Hearing Aids was still developing way back when I first wandered in their store and got one of their original hearing aids. They had an office at a nearby shopping center and at the time, I couldn't follow conversations well. I would miss a word then, I'd be off in la-la land. The ones I have now are about four years old. I love their adjustment feature which I never found in other hearing aids. But there were a few situations that I couldn't adjust my hearing on them. Their reps have always been extremely helpful and they provide batteries, which are a pain in the hiney. I love my hearing aids and I can't live without them. I'm confident that I got the best and I recommend Zounds Hearing Aids to all my friends ever since I got started with them. I'm looking at getting their newest and I know I can trade in my old ones for a preferred price.
Thank you for your kind review. It sounds like you have been wearing Zounds for a long time! As you stated, we do offer special pricing to our current wearers whenever we introduce new technology. On August 12, 2016 I purchased the Imprezo-20 hearing aids for a total of $3500. I have had nothing but trouble with them ever since I bought them. I have had them serviced numerous times with little or no satisfaction from the local office. There is little communication from the office. At the moment they have one of my aids which they indicated they would REPLACE and I would have back within 3 days. It has now been 2 weeks and they have not contacted me. The warranty will be out on August 12th. So what do I do then? The last visit 3 weeks ago cost me $49 and apparently did not fix the problem since I had to return a week later with the same problem. After paying $3500 for these, I would expect better quality and certainly better service. At this time, I would not recommend Zounds to anyone needing hearing aids.
I just received word from Nicole that she saw you last week and fitted you with our new Torza 24 channel hearing aid system. I apologize for the issues you had in getting your current aids repaired. I hope that you will enjoy these new hearing aids and that the upgrade will compensate your for any frustration that you felt. As you can see, we have new staff at the Mesa location, and you can depend upon them to ensure that your are well taken care of going forward.

Only to find out they put it together the wrong way. So now his right side just squeals. And today I get a call after 2 msgs and emails sent that they are short staffed. After all was said he will not get them back for 2 more weeks!! Very frustrating for my dad and his family to have him not hear anything while he lives alone. I am the only child and I do my very best and I had to even hire a CNA to visit him to make sure all is good on days I work and have duties with my sons. Please check around at other places, I didn't and wish I did.
I am really glad that we were able to resolve your Dad's hearing aid issue and hope that he is enjoying good hearing. On Nov. 1, 2017, I purchased a pair of Vizara hearing aids, with the stipulation that I could get a refund, during a thirty day trial period. Well, after using them four days, I decided that I didn't like them because the tone quality was bad. I took them back to the store for the refund and was told by the store manager that they require eleven days for the trial. I went along with that, but after the eleven days, I still didn't like them, so I took them back to the store for the refund, but then I was told that I needed an appointment to get the refund, but since I was already there, I knew I was being taken for a ride. Finally, I had enough, so I put in a dispute against Zounds with my bank, which issued me a provisional refund which would resolve the issue in 45 days, but after 62 days, no decision has been made. I would advise everyone to stay away from the Sun City, AZ store because they can't be trusted.

I sent the hearing aids to the service center and received them by registered FedEx in only 8 days. Zounds cleaned them and replaced batteries, tested them for proper operation and replaced a couple of minor pieces, and sent a paper explaining what they had done and the results of the testing - all at no charge. My hearing aids work like new again. I was very nervous about mailing them away after reading some of the complaints. But my experience has been a very good one. Thank you Zounds!
Hello John,
Thank you for your review of our Zounds Customer Care department. Supporting our wearers, no matter where they purchased their Zounds hearing aids, is a priority for us.
As you stated, sending your aids in for repair seemed a little scary, but most companies use a central repair location. Generally, it is the audiologist or hearing center that mails them for you, so you don't really think about it. We have been able to support our customers from all over the world in this manner.

I had a few problems with my left ear and it took a little while to resolve it, but they were very good about it. We tried three different hearing Aids to no avail. We couldn't get the tinny sound better. It's not the product that failed, it's how damaged my hearing is. The ENT doctor that I went to after three rounds of steroid shots in the ears my hearing improved slightly.
The doctor said that the only way I will be able to hear is having the cochlear implant surgery. He felt hearing aids wouldn't help much. Purchased my hearing aids (order Number **) on 11/04/ 2015. On 01/10/2017 I received notice from my local Zounds Location that they were going out of business. In order to get service for reprogramming etc. I tried without success to contact by telephone the company HQ in Chandler Ariz. Wrote a letter on August 5, 2017 expressing my displeasure with customer support. Received NO Reply. Wrote an email to HQ on Sept. 3rd and did get a reply on Sept. 21st basically telling me to arrange for a local hearing test and then sending my devices to Arizona. No offer of shipping label with insurance coverage for $4000 worth of ENZA hearing Aids.
I have no confidence that I will get proper service when I am not at the service location to have them adjusted, as was the case when I purchased them. Have since learned of a number of bankruptcy proceedings throughout country. Zounds cannot/will not give me service I expected for buying high-end product. Believe I should get a refund as I received local support for barely 14 months. Complete run-around not even a name associated with Corporate response which basically placed all efforts to resolve on me. I have zero confidence that I would ever get a fully functional product.

My old hearing aids were ReSound and they didn’t have the remote that I could adjust for the different hearing environments and the volume. It was pre-programmed for my hearing and it was supposed to automatically switch to whatever mode was best depending on the environment and that didn’t work so well. So, anytime I was in any noisy environment, my hearing was useless.
Then, I went to a Zounds office and discussed my hearing issues and my hearing aid history with a staff. He gave me the hearing test and fitted me with the pair. We also walked around the mall and he helped me find out and see what I thought of it. I realized how far superior the sound was compared to my old hearing aids. We went back inside and talked for a little bit about which model I would like, what the cost for the various models was and I ended up picking the Clareza which has eight channels. I would have liked to come with the 16 channels but I didn't have that kind of money to spend at that time and this was affordable.
Danny is absolutely marvelous and fabulous. I walked into the local office to pick up more tips for my earpieces and he remembered me. Also, it's the most comfortable hearing aid I've worn. This is my third set of hearing aids. I had the plastic in the ear ones at first and I absolutely hated those. Then, I switched to the ReSound behind the ears and they were better but by no means compared to the Zounds hearing aid. The only issue that we're still having is with being able to carry on a conversation in the car with the road noise. For some reason, no matter what hearing aid, the road noise in the car just resonates inside my head so, anytime we're in the car, it's short cryptic conversations with my wife. But other than that, they're very tremendous.
Now, it's not an issue going out to a restaurant and talking. I can adjust the hearing aids to put the environment and mute out the background noise. I tell everybody that talks to me about having hearing aids to go to Dan. Everything about my experience with Zounds had been fantastic and it's the best experience I've ever had.
Mr. Mann,
We are so happy to hear about your experience at our KOP store (you are right, Danny is amazing) and with your new Zounds hearing aids. I went into about the age of 89, saying I'll never put hearing aids on. Finally, somebody told me to go down to this guy who does a beautiful engineered hearing aid. I went to Costco and places like that, but wasn't pleased. On the other hand, Zounds is an outstanding company. I went with them for the good abilities and a six months check up free of charge, which if you have a problem, they will put it in. For example, from your hearing aid you put in your ear, on the outside it shows a little cable that runs to the curved one that goes in the back of your ear. The original hearing aids that I had was too light and they bend, so they made it heavier, and now it works perfectly.
The lovely lady at the front office was very knowledgeable about batteries, and the guys that are managing and the new manager of the facility are outstanding people. My hearing aid goes in easily. Many times I just use it on the left ear when I go out to see people, and it's quite an improvement. It's been an excellent experience overall.

After two attempts with Zounds hearing aids some ten years apart I can state that while the hearing aid is fairly well made their upgrade to a rechargeable battery system is a costly blunder due to the design and materials used. The charging pocket's almost "V" shape design is a poor fit for the hearing aid and requires constant wiggling to make electrical charging contact. The contacts constantly corrode making charging difficult. The plastic charging pocket is made of fragile material and easily breaks while the three delicate ribbon style contacts just don't hold up over time. When they expect you to pay a couple of hundred bucks for an overpriced poorly made device it time to cry foul. This allegedly "fastest growing" company in its field (per their propaganda) while it closes offices in numerous states has lost its focus on quality while increasing its prices threefold. I can no longer recommend this company.

I had a hearing problem and had a hearing test. Then, I was at my doctor’s office when Zounds was there for hearing test. I took the test and it was easy. It was the same as the one I had previously and that’s when I decided to get hearing aids from Zounds. Also, I read the publicity about the owner and him discovering it with his daughter who had a hearing loss so I was impressed with them all the way around. I got mine around 2008 and I went to a boutique of Superstition Springs. It was way out when I got my hearing aid.
I like them and their service. The staff was always super from the lady who tested me in my doctor’s office to when I got my hearing aids but I'm really impressed with Mark who I have gone to just recently. He was surprised that mine is still working. He was very good and there were also other things he gave me tips on. Also, I don’t have a really bad hearing problem but as I get older, it's getting worst so he changed something to give me a better sound.
I also struggle with putting the right hearing aid in and he explained how I have to go up and then back to the back of my ear and pop it in because it's a little different than my left ear. I've been thinking about getting a new one and what I'd like to do is get one that has a smaller piece over the ear. But Mark has been the best that’s helped me with the specialist over the years. Although they’ve all been good and I get battery replacements. My husband was also impressed and said that that’s who he thinks he's going to when he lost his hearing. I'm lost when I don’t wear my hearing aids to church when the priest gives the homily so, it has improved my life. Also, I like the remote and the battery charger. I'm very pleased with Zounds and that I have their hearing aids. They're very helpful and they know what they're doing and their product.
Dear Ms. Haugen,
Thank you for sharing your long term experience with Zounds! We still have customers wearing their original aids they purchased in 2007 and it is a source of pride to our engineers.

I am a long time wearer of hearing aids (1986 to present). I first purchased your product about 1/1/2 years ago and have literally tried all of your aids finally settling on what I have. Once again I find the connecting wire broken. This will be the third set of wires since I purchased them. Today I called the dealer Brett in Asheville NC and was told they now cost $150 per side. The last set I purchased (by giving him cash) were $60 for the pair. When I talked to him about the cost he blamed you at Zounds HQ. I think maybe he was a little pissed at me because when I went in for a battery replacement he was unhappy that I didn't trade them in for one of his new brands (Siemens & ??).
When I purchased mine, I mistakenly felt I was dealing with a professional whom I could count on. I really thought I could count on four or five years with Zounds. At the additional and rising costs for UPKEEP that is very questionable. Needless to say, it would be quite difficult for me to recommend them to my friends. She also gave us very careful hearing tests. I went with the most expensive model that goes behind my ear. It improved my hearing and we've been very pleased with the service we've been given whenever we have a problem. I'd say I'm happy with my Zounds hearing aids. They don't bother my ears. On the outside, I hear more and of course inside, the TV is a little lower. It has helped and it’s easy to use and comfortable.
The shop was fine but I think I could have been taken advantage of fairly easy if I had not paid attention. It's not illegal but maybe a little unethical as far as the ad was that you can try them for 30 days. When I went with them, the paper that I signed said they want a 30% charge to restock it if I didn't want it. The ad said that it was all completely free for 30 days and prior to that even it was kind of the same scenario. All of your forms to sign, those parts were all blank and they could write anything they wanted and I didn't particularly like that. The people during the test, everything was fine there.
Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We are really happy that you are happy with your hearing aids and that you are benefiting from them. We can assure you that no restocking fee would have been assessed if you had returned the hearing aids within the 30 days. This is against our corporate policy. The franchisee who owns the location you purchased your aids from is very ethical and does not charge a restocking fee.
Thank you again for your comments.

So, he has got to change it. Hearing over the phone was the only problem he has.
Hi Mrs. Bargman,
Voices vary a great deal in terms of pitch and tone. For instance, most people with hearing loss can hear a man's voice much easier than that of a woman or child. This is because of where these are found on the sound spectrum and where hearing loss is generally greatest. Please suggest that your husband visit the hearing center and have his programming adjusted to compensate for this. Fine tuning will make all the difference!

The thing that drew me to Zounds Hearing was that, at that time, it was the only hearing aid business that was advertising rechargeable hearing aids. The devices themselves are the same across the board. Some have variations on the theme and types of devices, but in terms of the most utility out of the hearing aid, Zounds seemed to have the most interesting products.
I went to Zounds here in Austin when they had their office down here and essentially interviewed all of them. Nicole was running the office here in West Gate Boulevard. And she was a very experienced audiologist and certified technician. We talked a great deal about the mechanism, how it words, the service after sales, the warranties, all these stuff. And other family members were also in need of hearing aids or certainly willing to consider the possibility, so I decided to be the guinea pig for the family.
I started out with just one hearing aid because I'm left-handed. And all of my years of firing guns from the Vietnam war to 30 years in the FBI really did a job on my left ear. A year later, I transitioned into having two hearing aids. And that has been absolutely superb in terms of my hearing. I have been very, very satisfied. That’s not to say there haven’t been some speed bumps along the way. I had to have a battery replaced long before it should have been and some other adjustments made to the devices themselves. But no hearing aid is perfect, you're always going to have a bit of a problem with understanding keywords, sounds or different expressions. But nonetheless, I wear them from the moment that I get up in the morning until I go to bed at night.
So I try to recommend Zounds to my colleagues, former FBI agents and other people, who are either unhappy with their current hearing aids or looking for them. I also brought in my mother-in-law and my brother-in-law and they have Zounds hearing aids. Both of them have required some type of service after sales. And unfortunately, the Austin office was closed down. So we travel up to Georgetown for 45 minutes in order to go to the office there. Karen ** is an excellent audiologist, and she's very good with people. She does an excellent job with my 95-year old mother-in-law. She really works at doing the hearing exams to be as precise as possible and to dial that data into the device.
And my brother-in-law will drive up here from Livingston so he can get his hearing aids worked on. That’s a 4-hour car trip. Talk about brand loyalty. My brother-in-law is a real engineer type, very knowledgeable about electronics, mechanics and devices. He had been told that there was going to be a Zounds facility in Conroe and Kingsland, in the East Texas area. But they never came to be. Karen told us that they've got a technician on call there but that's not the same thing.
I like being able to go into the Georgetown office. Karen does the quick soup to nuts to make sure that the whole thing from top to bottom is working, identifies what the issue is, fixes it and then puts them back in and checks them on the computer to make sure that they're properly set to right decibel levels. You're not going to get that with some hired technician who's going to show up like a Fuller Brush salesman.
And Zounds still needs to continue to upgrade and work on the equipment itself. Some points of failure in the equipment can be improved to proactively prevent breakdowns. Example, there is a plastic clasp that takes the wire from the device into your ear and back to the battery. That is so fragile that very easy to break. My mother-in-law is in an assisted living center and someone who was making sure that her hearing aids were charged tried to force it in too hard and broke the connector, necessitating another trip up to Georgetown. When you take senior citizens who already have arthritis in their hands, you're cleaning and you put the hearing aid back on someone who may not have as much dexterity as I have is going to break it, and then it's got to be replaced. Then you've got the time span between when it breaks and when you can get it replaced. It's avoidable.
There’s really no excuse for a rechargeable battery to fail within a year. There’s enough knowledge about rechargeable batteries in this day and age that they need to put some time and effort into utilizing a type you can have trust and confidence in, to last two, three years. Eventually it will lose its capacity to hold the charge, but these rechargeable things is the biggest draw that Zounds has going for, and they really need to be showcasing that in their marketing. Other hearing aid manufacturers using those little teeny tiny replaceable batteries are ridiculous. My mother-in-law started out with those and literally drove the family crazy because they weren’t any good longer than seven days max.
Their direct marketing needs to be to potential consumers who will, without a doubt, need hearing aids if they don't already. That’s the law enforcement community and the military. They could also design a marketing campaign to focus on that. And determine that TRICARE, the military insurance will pay for some, if not all, of the hearing aid devices. That would certainly be a positive factor to get men and women to come in and get these devices to be able to continue their careers. That’s one of the things that I would recommend Zounds in terms of their marketing and advertising.
I’m really surprised quite frankly that they couldn’t keep the Austin store operational. This is a big city. Theres a lot of seniors down here. Although I can see why they’re not doing advertising down here in Austin because then they would have to say their place is up in Georgetown. Right now Zounds has an office in Georgetown and two in Dallas and that’s it. And I'm concerned that the Georgetown might be in jeopardy because of client case load. I'm fairly certain that that's what affected the West Gate Boulevard office. They couldn't seem to get qualified staff to join their team. Initially, Nicole seemed to be very happy there but then all of a sudden she bailed and she went with a competitor.
If Zounds is going to be competitive in this dynamic market with all of us baby boomers gradually going deaf, there’s certainly a place for them. Their model started out with superb engineering for all the right reasons. They just need to revisit their engineering, marketing and staffing to help them be more competitive and open them up in more markets.
Right now, Karen's all we have here in Central Texas and she’s doing a superb job. I just hope that Zounds is intelligent enough to know that they've got a highly effective and efficient employee and that they need to do whatever is necessary to keep her and listen to her. Karen has a lot of very good ideas about what will help in the future. It's the individuals who become the face of the company, and their attention to detail, their effort into having the client leave with the device that works immediately and the follow up that you can get from them is what makes it.

I found Zounds Hearing Aids as good as any other. It seems to be going fine for me. However, I feel there's a problem with my hearing. I've tried the techniques needed when I'm in a crowd but it doesn't seem to make much difference when I do it. Also, while watching on the television, when the commercial comes, it's always clear but when I'm listening to a program, it isn't necessarily so. The pitch is different and it's not as distinct so there are things I miss because of it.

I've had a hearing problem since I was seven but only had hearing aids since 2006. When I first started getting hearing aids, I did use Miracle Ear but the people that I dealt with moved and so I went online and I liked Zounds Hearing Aids. Their hearing aids were made by a dad that had concerns about his daughter's hearing. So, I figured, they might be more in tune with the needs of people with hearing problems. The hearing test and fitting were simple and fast but the problem with most hearing tests is that you have to hear the beep and for those of us that don't hear, it becomes very uncomfortable because you start straining yourself hoping to hear a beep. I just wish there was some other way, some other sound maybe. But I understand the whole procedure. The staff, John, Revy and Carla, have all been nice and patient. l call if I have a problem and it’s like, “Come on down right now if you want.” They've actually been really great.

My husband got the Clareza-8 hearing aids. We were never told that the hearing aids were used. Until recently, my husband went back to the office for a checkup. The person we dealt with the first time just said, "I am wearing the same exact hearing aid. That you are getting." If we were told that, that day I would have said USED!!! For the price we paid was close to 3,000 dollars. Plus we got a 3yr warranty. Your product was misrepresented as new!!! On all the brochures that we received not one word said used!

I had a very good with Zounds Hearing. The instructors, are very knowledgeable and helpful aqnd I like Zounds better than its competitors because I don't have to use batteries. I found it inconvenient to change the batteries in the hearing aid. It seemed that the batteries were going out too frequently. So Zounds' use of the batteries in the hearing aid was a very good concept. The hearing aid model I have is comfortable. I have choices in different volumes of hearing in different places so it's very convenient. They gave me a hearing test with words and with sound and I was able to distinguish what they wanted. Some I did well, some I didn't do as well but the hearing aid has helped me to hear more clearly. So my hearing has improved.
We are glad to hear that you had such a positive experience and that you are finding our rechargeable hearing aids so convenient. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you.

Corporate has a bad attitude, and are not pleasant on the phone. They won't answer the phone, you have to leave a message and maybe they will call you back. My hearing aids generate feedback, the sound quality is low, and the stems break after about 6 months of use. I would not purchase from this company again.

I have 2 Zounds hearing aids and they perform well when they work. One broke and they wanted $500 to repair it so I replaced instead. The wire links from the aid to the microphone in the ear is very flimsy and I found out it is not covered under the warranty. Two of these links have broken in different ways, the edge that holds it in place broke off so I replaced it at $50. The wire pulled out of the replacement in 3 months and I have to buy it online since the stores in New England have all closed. They want to charge $10 shipping for this little, overpriced piece of junk. They refused to drop it in a USPS envelope. Also, the battery holder on the other aid broke but I can still use it at least. I wouldn't recommend them.

I was able to go to the Fishers, IN office where I bought them and they took care of me. A couple months later I needed some more service and that office had closed. I was still able to get them serviced by going to Carmel, IN. In May of this year they re-opened the Fishers office and when I went to get service again, I bought a 3 year warranty. Shortly after, all Indiana offices were closed and I had to send my aids to Corporate in Arizona. They repaired them in a timely manner. No problem.
Now I needed service again. Still no office open in Indiana. Sent the hearing aids in and they called me saying besides replacing the batteries and adjusting the settings, each one had 1 bad microphone of the 2 in each hearing aid. They wanted $300 per aid to fix. I told them about my 3 year warranty. They claim there is a deductible which is not stated in my paperwork. Sorry, I'm so long winded. They don't answer their phone. I cannot say enough about the Zounds product and office in Seal Beach, CA. I am former military and retired law enforcement. After dealing with impaired hearing for many years, I decided to get hearing aids. Randy and John were extremely helpful and professional through the process of the hearing test, hearing aid type/style selection and follow up office visits. I decided on the Enza model because I still train military/law enforcement personnel in hand to hand combat/defensive tactics and firearms training. I have never had them fall out or malfunction. On a side note, the Zounds built in shock sound suppression is extremely effective. I can stand on firing line and use power tools without the use of ear protection. Great product and great shop.

I had an appointment with them on 3/21/16 at which time I was going to return their faulty hearing aids, however my wife passed away 3/17/16 and her funeral was 3/21/16, which made it impossible to keep the appointment. My daughter made a new appointment for me with Zounds during all of the confusion and heartbreak. The new appointment was past the 30 day period so I was informed by Zounds that I could not return the hearing aids regardless of the circumstances. I have written several times to Zounds Home Office and have always been given a run-a-round (I began writing them in April 2016). These hearing aids were financed thru Care Credit, whom I have contacted several times but their response is that they are just a billing service.
They asked Zounds to respond to my complaints and were given nothing but untruths. Zounds told the credit card company they had never known I wanted to return the hearing aids until 8/22/16. That is the date I returned the hearing aids to them and informed them that the hearing aids did not work for me! After not hearing from them for 2 weeks, I visited them and was told that the hearing aids were corroded and possibly damaged which would make them hard to resell (I find this hard to believe since I only used them for 3 or 4 weeks trying to make them work). These hearing aids do not work for me and I am at a loss as to where I can go for help to avoid paying $5198.00 for aids I don't have (I have even offered to let them keep the $1200.00. I have already paid the credit card company for their time & effort). In closing I would add that I am 76 years old and this the worst experience I have encountered in my life.

The Appleton Zounds office offers a 30 day trial for $400. We felt that was expensive for a test of their equipment, but agreed to give it a try, since we would not be gambling with the $3000 full price. They required I pay the $3000 up front, despite the "trial" that we wanted. We have never owned a hearing aid, so this was an unknown entity for us. The 30 day trial ended on a Saturday, a day that they are closed.
So I called first thing on Monday to say I wanted to return the equipment since I felt it was not giving me any real help with my hearing. I also stated that the constant "feedback" of their equipment was very annoying and was so loud my wife could hear it across the room. This was despite making multiple visits and reprogramming the computers in the hearing aids as well as changing the inside ear tips multiple times. The store manager/technician was not available and did not immediately return my call left with the receptionist on Monday.
However, she confirmed that she had passed my information on to him. Since the store is only open two days a week, we ended up waiting until the end of the week to visit the store. Upon arriving, he quickly stated that they would not take back the hearing aids and would not refund any portion of the money. I state that their aids were not helping my hearing and the feedback was incessant, just as I had said in my message.
Long story short, the local man did not have the "authority" to refund money. He also assured me the owner would not agree, but said he would have him call me. Well, that took another half week. The call was as predicted, flat "NO" on the refund. I feel their trial program is false advertising, very misleading, and just a hook to get you into their store and lock you into their product. The equipment cannot seem to be fixed to omit the feedback. It is not good product. The device now sit on my dresser, useless.

To my surprise they could not repair it on-site as they had promised and sent it out for repair at a repair shop. In the meantime I kept one hearing aid and I'm at 90% hearing loss. They promised a 2 week repair which became a 3, and 4, and 5, and 8, and 12 week repair. Nobody followed up.
The Zounds specialist had no idea where the hearing aid was and after more than 2 months they finally accepted they lost my hearing aid. At this point my other aid was having problems and they refused to refund stating refund have to go through a process of approval not understanding my hearing loss and how important having both hearing aids is. All we asked for was a refund so we can order another set with another company.
5 months later and no follow-ups from Zounds. I have called, and called, and called to get a follow-up on refund or lost hearing aid, and nobody knows anything, and one of their employees Rene from Corporate is the only one who can speak to me, and she refuses to give me another name or # of someone who I can speak to. She does not how to handle serious customer issues nor does she care to resolve them either! They were quick to take my money, lose my hearing aid, refuse a refund! I purchased a pair of Zounds Hearing Aids a little less than a year ago at their Sun Lakes, AZ office. Unfortunately, the product quality has been bad and the customer service, which was very pleasant during the sales pitch, deteriorated and is now very bad. In less than a year, I have had to return to their office (which has been in three different locations during that time) several times for multiple issues, one of which required one of the hearing aids to be replaced with a "refurbished" unit (not even new). This last time, the manager gave me an extended lecture on how even new things can need repair and I should not have expected to "never" come back in. She was highly condescending and showed lots of attitude. Based on my experience, I regret ever choosing Zounds. A word to the wise, please BEWARE.

My wife previously purchased some hearing aids a year ago from Zounds Hearing Aids. She has the Clareza-16 and is happy with it. I got the same kind as my wife. I'm happy with it too. I hear much better than I did before. I talked with their guys during the initial testing and being fitted for my hearing aids. They're very good. They sent me to Mass Eye and Ear, which is one of the very well-respected medical organizations, to make sure that the issue was with my ears and not something neurological. They were very thorough in making sure that they weren't selling me something I didn't need.

I had hearing loss in one year and had a medical issue. I knew I was in need of hearing aids so I tried to locate Zounds. They then sent me a brochure in the mail and I bought their Imprezo model as they have recommended. Now I can hear and people who speak to me don't have to repeat themselves. Zounds' reps have all been excellent. Their front desk person is very pleasant, knowledgeable and personable. She would call to remind me of my appointment and also tells me if it's to rain during the day of my appointment. She's also cooperative and flexible in rescheduling my appointment in case I couldn't make it on the given time. The one who fitted the hearing aids was excellent as well. She knew what she was doing and I felt no high pressure in buying a hearing aid. They also cleaned up as I walked in. It was a very relaxed and pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend that Zounds office I went to.

Their specialist did a little operation and now, I can hear a lot better. My hearing is quite normal now so my wife doesn't have to scream at me. DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS WITH YOUR HEARING NEEDS! As a customer of Zounds since February of 2015, my experience with the employees and their products has been HORRIBLE! The Zounds hearing aids that my wife uses have broken and fallen apart multiple times. We have had to make multiple trips to the business where we have only received poor and rude customer service. At my most recent visit, I had an appt made. I was not seen til 30 minutes after the appt time. When I did get help, it was VERY unprofessional.
I questioned the tech/Dr about the hearing aids and its ongoing breakage. I was treated very rudely when the tech took offense to my questioning him and his product. After I finished my business, that same person followed me outside and verbally abused me claiming that I called him "a half-wit". I was so shocked at his schoolyard bullying behavior that I could only correct him about his rude and untrue claim of me. Whatever happened to "the customer is ALWAYS RIGHT"? Again I will say DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS FOR YOUR HEARING NEEDS!

I was fitted for aids for both ears. One ear has very little hearing. First problem was they hurt the inside of the canal. Next, they kept falling out. Since they didn't seem right I consulted 2 other hearing aid companies. Both said I was wasting money buying an aid for the dead ear. I returned the Zounds Aids, NO ONE said "I'm sorry they didn't work for you" plus the once friendly receptionist security had 'an attitude'! I've since bought one Siemens Aid and my daughter bought 2 Siemens aids and we are extremely +happy with our purchase. I strongly feel I was sold something not needed to fatten a wallet! The plastic tube that leads from the hearing aid to your ear breaks more often than once a year. Although they will replace their rechargeable batteries for free, the time it takes to get an appointment can take up to a week. Why one needs an appointment to change a battery is beyond me. We liked them all enough that we walked out with the aids but went back the following week because one of the batteries had already given up. I flew airplanes so my hearing in the high frequency is in bad shape and I finally decided we go ahead and give the hearing aid a try. I purchased a pair of ZOUNDS Hearing Aids from their Store located in Lafayette, LA on April 1, 2015. They seemed to work well for about a month, then went back and the person readjusted the settings. Then about 2 weeks later, the soft part that holds the speaker in the left ear came off, returned to the store and he put it back on, said that happens with them. Then in October of 2015 I was having problems with the hearing aids and stopped by the Store. On the door of the store was a sign that as of October 8, 2015 the store had closed and to call 1-480-813-8400 for service. After many calls, I finally was able to speak to someone. They informed me that I would have to drive to New Orleans LA to get service.
I am 83 years old, NO is a two and half hour drive from Lafayette for me. I informed them of the problems. I then contacted the BBB here in Lafayette as well as the BBB in AZ. In November 2015, the Home Office called me and said they were working on getting someone here in the Lafayette, LA area to help me. Since that time, I have not heard back from them. Now the right hearing aids battery only last about 6 to 7 hours between charging. This is unacceptable, it is not a year old. However, I had some displeasure with the customer service team.
The remote control comes with the system. It's used to make adjustments and there's also an app that you can put on your smartphone so I was interested in the app because you often don't want to carry a remote control everywhere with you and I forget when we leave home or whatever so the app would be perfect. When I downloaded the app I did it with the rep but we couldn't get it to work. Then I went home and the rep was trying to get some more information from the home office to get the app to work. I also contacted the main office, got a tech to help me out and she wrote me back that it should work on my iPhone, which is only a year and a half old, but it doesn't. I also have an iPad which is brand new so I put it there but it doesn't work on that either. So the app clearly doesn't work and I was really disappointed. I returned the hearing aids and got my money back. When I saw Zounds, I decided to try them and see. I've had my Zounds hearing system for a few months now and I've been very satisfied with them. They're very good to do business with. They don't hurry you, they explain things. Even if I called them several different times, I got the same answer.
Dottie, the girl who tested my hearing, suggested either one of two models, so I picked one model. She had one type of cushion on one hearing aid and a different kind on the other, and I liked one cushion better. So I had it modified and now I have the same kind of cushion on both of my hearing aids, so that when they go in they fit in there and they're not going to fall out.
I volunteer part-time at the town hall where I live. Some people speak very softly and I didn't always hear them, so I didn't pay any attention to what they were saying. But now, with the hearing aids and the way Dottie taught me to set them, I hear these people better than I did before. Also, when I'm sitting here at home and have my hearing aids in, I don't need to have the television up as loud as I normally would. I would recommend Zounds to anybody because, first of all, they're good, from what I've experienced in the months that I've had them, and they're not as expensive as others. I had tried a couple of those cheap things that cost $25 and they sounded tinny, with a metallic sort of sound which didn't work at all. The Zounds hearing system has generally been very good and positive. My wife is much happier with this one. She used to complain about the fact that I couldn't hear things. Now I can use the excuse when she says something I don't understand, I can essentially say I don't have my hearing aids in so I can get away with it.
I got the Clareza model, which is the second tier. It would have been $2500 but because of the promotion I paid $2000 for it. I didn't want to go the high-end which would have been in the $4,000 range. The other thing is I have a peculiar and complicated hearing issue. I've always had hearing loss as a child. I'm in a particular case where the doctor has said that a hearing aid would not work for me so I was resistant to spend a lot of money on something if it wasn't really gonna work for me. My ears are really screwed up. They discharge and they do all sorts of funky things.
Both the reception staff and the audiologist have been good. Their team had me come back periodically since they set the appropriate frequency channels to make the adjustments. One of the issues was trying to get the right plug that goes into the ear that fits on the speaker. I spent a lot of time going back to the audiologist and trying different rubber connectors to see if we can mitigate the feedback loops (My mom said that people she knew who have hearing aids give up on them because of high-pitched, static feedbacks in the speaker). I went back the first couple of weeks and then every few months. We've already found a better plug device, which is not perfect (I'm just learning to live with that), but the hearing is clearly much better than without it.
I did some research and I know the company filed Chapter 11 back a number of years ago. I've been told that they've restructured the company. That put me off initially when I did my research and I was a little concerned about that. I talked to the people about that issue and I was convinced that it's worth a try. But the reviews I heard were favorable for the instrument itself. I want a service provider who's gonna be there for a while. The other thing I don't know is that there's a certain life expectancy with hearing aids. I don't know how long it's going to last since I've only had it for 6 months. But so far, because of the overall experience, I'd recommend them to a friend.

I needed hearing aids because I need them for work. I have used other products but they're nothing like Zounds Hearing Aids. I can't believe what I've been missing hearing. I hear myself out walking on the golf course in the grass that I never heard before. It's just a whole new world for me. Also, everything's been fine with their crew and I'm really happy with them. I had a couple of issues about the right hand aid going off like the battery was low. So I went down there and they check them all out so I got nothing to complain about. I say that they'll only get my hearing aids back from me if they kill me because I love them. I can't wait to get to put this on in the morning when I get up, which I didn't do with the other ones. I never felt so good in my life. I recommend to anybody these hearing aids and I have a couple of people already.

My mom is staying with me and lost her remote. I have contacted corporate via email after calling 3 locations and only getting a message stating to leave my name. The Imprezo from Zounds is the first hearing aid I've ever had. I looked for five years and finally found this one and I've had it for about four months. My daughter kept saying, "You need to get hearing aids." And I thought, "Nah. I'll just wait." And she kept saying, "Mom, you really need these hearing aids." So finally I went and I saw this down and I decided to get them and I thought, "Well, you know, Lord heals me sign. If He doesn't I'm stuck with hearing aids." I got to do something so I can hear better.
I liked it because there are no batteries and when you charge it, you put everything in the charger and charge it at night and I think that's really nice. Since I've had it, it's been really great and I can hear in a crowded room which was the most thing that bothered me a lot. I seem to hear everything and I really like them. I could hear so much better. I watch the TV and I could turn it way down and it's just great. I would tell a lot of people where I got them and recommend them. They've been really good. The Zounds sales and customer service teams have been great. I've gone in there to get my hearing aids cleaned and one time something wasn't working and they found out there was earwax in there and they cleaned and it was fine. They've been really good about helping me.

I picked Clareza for my first hearing aid. My hearing wasn't that bad that I needed to have a top one and so I picked that one because it met my needs and it was a good price range. I've had them a year and half now. They have permanent batteries that you could charge as opposed to others being in the middle of hearing something and then going out, you have to take it, and put a new battery in. I like the fact that I'm able to charge them every night. I hear better now than I did apparently – at least my wife tells me that. For me, it's very difficult as I didn’t think that I didn’t hear. One of the reasons I got the hearing aids is because of high pitch. When my grandchildren– especially the girls – spoke to me, I didn’t understand them because of the pitch of their voices, and this helped alleviate that.
I went to the Zounds in Boca and their team are actually phenomenal people, very helpful, very knowledgeable. They're just great. I have nothing bad about them and as a matter of fact, I sent two of my friends there and they've also bought hearing systems from them. The Zounds sales and customer service team are absolutely wonderful and very, very cordial. They listen to you and help you in any way possible. And if you have any problems, they will try to correct it. You can come back a million times and that doesn't make any difference to them. They're great people.

I read about Zounds when I first got my hearing aids three years ago. Before that I had one made by Siemens but it was not doing the job for me anymore. I was not too happy with my audiologist who I had been going through for years. I went over to the Zounds store over on Grant Road and near Columbus. What sold me was their technology, how they are made. And when I got there, the hearing test was done and hearing aids are stacked all on the premises. It was a same day service. I had never had behind-the-ear hearing aids before. I always had to have the molds made, order them and wait two weeks to get them and I just got tired doing all that. Then I found out about this technology that was different and they tested my hearing.
The manager from the Tempe store at the time was opening up one on Grant and Columbus, and the customer service there was excellent. They seem to be more attentive and up on the technology and they know what they are doing. My hearing loss is moderate to severe, and I now have a lot more control over what I'm hearing. That's how it enhanced my life in an instant. I go to a crowded room and I have that very good control while I'm hearing, and that's good. The other thing was the volume control that I carry in my pocket. That's something I never ever pondered which is wonderful. And so when I attend a regular meeting several times a week with a group I'm affiliated with, I can hear everyone across the room when I turn them up. And then after the meeting, I turn them back down.
I had a problem with my right hearing aid, and I was very satisfied because there was a factory defect that was within the warranty period so it was replaced free of charge and I was very pleased with that. The other problem I had was with the left hearing aid when it got twisted and I wasn't getting any reception. The technician at the Pantano store had figured out in no time what it was. He was able to just replace the cable from the hearing aid to the mic and I was in and out and it was done. I don't have to send them out or send them to some place far away because everything is all there in the store. Overall, I'm very satisfied. I have recommended them to several people. They are friendly and conscientious.

I have to spend a lot of time going back and forth trying to get it adjusted the way I need it. I'm having a hard time cutting out the background but I just kept messing with it. My husband doesn't have it any trouble with his. I've been down to the ZOUNDS sales and customer service twice, and he readjusted it. He's very knowledgeable and I've been very happy with the way he's trying. I'm just a little unhappy that I'm having a hard time getting them adjusted. My left ear is fairly good but my right ear had severe hearing loss. Zounds helped a lot because I can hear everything people are saying now. I could now hear what one of my daughters is saying because she has higher-pitched voice. Last Wednesday, I went back to the office and the gentleman made a few adjustments and it's 100% better now than it was the first week I had them. The receptionist in another office was wonderful, a complete sweetheart and a real doll. I saw an ad about Zounds in the Madison paper. I did look at some others and I was impressed. I went to look at Zounds too and its the people in the office there that sold me on it, but the price was reasonable and I like the technology where you just plug it in. You don't have to keep changing batteries all the time. I went with the one that cost the most. I use it in the restaurants. I bought it just about a year ago. It has impacted my life quite a lot. I didn't realize how bad my hearing was but my wife doesn't mumble anymore and I can do a lot of things better than I could before. I didn't realize how much I was missing. Lots of times I go to a club, I couldn't hear the speaker unless I sat right up in the front. Now, I can sit anywhere I want to. I can hear the television a whole lot better, except for British programs.
The customer service guy is really honest. Just last week, he called me and I went in and he checked the equipment and he looks in my hears and one thing and another. He really checked it out thoroughly and cleaned it up. The team is very, very friendly. The couple that owns the store both are very nice and then the guy who works in there, the technical guy seems to be extremely confident. I'd had hearing test done probably a year prior to when I look at the hearing aids at the University of Wisconsin in their audiology clinic. And they did a chart showing what I can hear and what I couldn't hear and all the frequencies, and all that stuff. And then when I went in to get this one, the technician there did a chart and he came up with exactly the same thing that the university had and it was impressive.
I never had a hearing aid before. It's been really a good deal with Zounds. I was trying to get the VA to pay for the hearing aid. I don't usually go to the VA but I did have some military service and I was claiming that since I had spent a couple of years on an aircraft carrier and had to spend quite a bit of time up on the flight deck around the airplanes, my hearing loss had been caused by that. And so they did a check too with their own doctor, finally, it takes forever to get things done with the VA. So he said in the report and finally, a couple of months later, I got a big fat note from the VA explaining that my hearing loss that came along too late in life, it couldn't have been caused by the noise. I had tinnitus ever since I had been in the navy. And so I now get $133.75 a month for disability. It takes a long time to pay for hearing aids with that, but it was better than nothing. I recommended Zounds to lots of people. I don't know if they bought any. My experience is just very satisfactory.

On the other hand, their sales and customer services teams were very good down at Oracle where I went and I do have to go back in and have the hearing aids checked because they're squealing. Zounds hearing system was probably the top of the line and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. I've been in my house for eight years and I'm hearing things that I never heard before. I also discovered that I have offensive crickets around the outside of my house. If my neighbors talk to me from across the street, I can hear them, and I don't have to keep saying, "What? What?" I don't have to walk closer to them. My hearing loss was not profound but it's significant in both ears. I can hear but there are certain noises I don't hear without the hearing aids.
The customer service team couldn't have been more helpful. I'm very pleased. I discovered that I apparently have a small ear canal so I went back, and I started out with a small one. They've given me an extra small, and everything's been fine. The service and interaction the team provided was excellent - I have no complaints. Other than there's no feedback, the hearing aid system is comfortable to wear. I get up in the morning and I can hardly wait to put them on. I'm all around a very happy customer. It's marvelous. We talked about how much it would cost, and one of the things that I really liked about what he offered was they had a delayed payment plan.
