My elderly parents also purchased the Miracle Ear hearing aids for my Dad and they have not operated the way we had hoped; we have been back a couple of times for adjustments and complaints but we are beyond the 30-day trial period. The result has not been good and now my 90 year old dad has these expensive hearing aids that really don't help him and he has to continue to make monthly payments. Has anyone litigated this in small claims court?

The hearing aids didn't fit comfortably and I kept going back week after week. I tried to return both of them as I was getting disgusted with it and they told me if I returned it they would have to take 3000.00 of the 6000.00 I paid. The hearing aid in the right ear itched so they took off the mold and gave me something else. This was worse so now I am waiting for several weeks now for another replacement. This is so totally unfair, but I signed a contract and now I am paying for it. I should have read the comments from the other people before I went to them.

At age 75 I lost my hearing in one ear and went to Miracle Ear in Ormond Beach FL. and purchased a hearing aid and paid cash with the understanding I had 30 days to return for a full refund. The salesperson was very nice so being my fault and trusting her I did not read the fine print. In a few days after a doctor visit I found out I had a restriction problem which was cleared and I could hear great so I returned the hearing aid. I just received my refund which was short 420.00 and if I had read the fine print I would have seen the fee. However she wrote on the sales paper "lifetime batteries free" and the free happen to be beside the fee of 420.00 so somewhat misleading. JUST READ THE FINE PRINT. I wish I had a product to sell with full refund but I could keep 420.00 if the product was returned. Their warranty is misleading and I think senior citizens are being ripped off.

I was displeased with the hearing aids as they did not do what I was looking for... After several attempts to adjust them and they still did not do what I expected I told the gentleman I would like to return them as he had told me previously that I did not have to worry about the time limit. Yet when I wanted to return them they would not accept them and they refuse my effort to return them and kept my refund in the amount of $4881.50. I am an 84 year old gentleman in a wheelchair and have to depend on people to transport me and that is the reason I was delayed but I was not too concerned as the man that took care of me told me not to worry about the time limit.

I was told the new hearing aids would clarify speech. They did NOT work the way I was told. I brought them back a week after purchase. Susan **, miracle ear employee in Vancouver, WA, "twig" them. Said they would work as they told me at the beginning. They DID NOT. Brought them back 2 more times and, then, asked to have my original hearing aids back but Ms. ** refused to oblige. By that time I was out of my 30-day return, therefore she would not help me (other then continuing "twigging"...). I am surprised how Miracle Ear entrapped me into purchasing their top model saying that they can do what NO OTHER can do. After spending $6,000, I NOW DO NOT have ANY hearing aids. Miracle Ear won't give me a refund and return my old hearing aids.

Purchase it on 11/8/13. At that time it worked real well. Since that I have had it checked many times & don't seem to be getting any better. I paid $ 2300.00 for it model-ME3150. What is happening now is when I try to hear tv, people talking, music at church & radio it sounds like I'm in a 50 gal drum or in a tunnel & can't understand anything. I believe I should have a new one because I think this one has a defect. This is bad when I am deaf in my other ear. There is something not being adjusted right or it is just not working right. Is there anything that can be done at no cost to me because the way it is working?

In lasalle il recently changed technicians and the new owner, manager is rushed, doesn't take time to listen, just quickly grabs equipment, pulls on it and hands it back. And then the hearing aids rubbed and hurt, he just said to give it time. It seems he doesn't care or is too busy. Previous technician was very patient and caring and this new man is such a bad change. We don't even get the basic care as set up on your website. Very disappointed in this current service.

Took possession of my hearing aids August 13, and started with problems from the very start. Had to make several trips during the very short time I had them in order to have them worked on, adjusted, or whatever.... but it did not make any difference, as they simply did not do any real good. I only had them for three weeks, but decided to return them and forget about it.... just not worth the effort and expense going back and forth and not getting any meaningful use from them.

I returned them well within the 30 days time period, but they withheld $403.50 from the refund. I am very upset that they think they are entitled to keep this much money for something that was of no value to me during the time I had them, and the extra cost I had going back and forth a good distance... for nothing. I have asked them for the full refund, based on the fact that I never got any use out of what must be an inferior product. No response has been received to my request that was given seven days ago. I have placed a request to open a complaint claim with Miracle Ear's headquarters in Plymouth, MN, as well as with my Credit Card Company that I made the payment from.

The people I dealt with at Miracle Ear were all very nice, and now we will see if they are nice enough to honor my request; accept the fact that they did not give me a good product; and refund the rest of my money.

I have a severe profound hearing loss and have taken my aid to the Miracle Ear facility regularly for cleaning. When the aid loosened I took it to my appointment on May 27 when a new technician broke it. I prayed everyday for a way to address it and thought prayers were answered when I received a call from a new receptionist at same place. I told her the technician broke my aid. She called a few days later to say this bothered her and bring it in and it will be repaired free. This is when the technician lied. Said he did not break it and things are still unresolved.

On May 14 I bought a reconditioned pair of hearing aids from the Sparks, Nevada and I have had issues with the left one not working from the very beginning. The sales associates Brittany and James became very rude when I kept coming back telling them the left one was still not working correctly even after it was sent out for repair. When I called again on August 6 I was treated rudely and when I told them I was going to corporate the response was they do not need to be treated this way and I hung up the phone after this. Bottom line it still does not work and I am contacting corporate to see what they are going to do.

I bought hearing aids at Miracle Ear in Gainesville, GA. I was told if I returned them I would have a 15% restocking fee. After two weeks of wearing them, I couldn't understand people when they talked to me. It was still a mumble. The clarity was not clear. After two weeks, I returned them and they charged me $625.00 to return them for stocking fee, which I thought anyone had a 30-day return policy by law. If it had been over 30 days, I could understand but I feel like that was a very expensive 2 weeks... I wish I had never have dealt with them. So if anyone buys from Miracle Ear, make sure you know for sure they are perfect or do not wear them out the door... I am very discouraged now of even buying a hearing aid. I do need one but don't want to be taken advantage of again...

I think I have set some kind of record for maintenance and repairs at the Sears Miracle Ear in Cerritos, CA. Since I purchased two Miracle Ear CIV aids for $3600 in November 2011, they have been repaired a total of 22 times EACH with an average wait time of 7-10 days per repair. They would function okay for about a month, then slowly begin to die. Each time they came back from service, they were great... for another month or so. Then they would start dying again.

The local Miracle Ear told me they would have to have "higher-ups" handle any further action. I took the matter into my own hands. After tracking down the corporate customer service department in Minnesota and refusing to stop calling until I got some satisfaction, I have received nothing other than a supposed "VIP" service in regards to any further service necessary. Big deal. Instead of waiting up to 10 days for repair, I "only" have to wait 5 days. They did offer to completely replace the entire inner workings of both hearing aids at no cost. Fine.

About a week later, I got them back and again, they worked fine. (I have no clue what they did to them. I don't think anybody knows what they do after they are sent to the service department.) Guess what? About a month later... that's right, they began to slowly lose their sound...again! This time they told me it was my fault, and actually told me that every single repair was my fault. Why? Ear wax was constantly clogging the insides of the aids over a period of several weeks. They offered to give me ear wax guards (very tiny circular rubber rings that fit into the tiny microphone hole in each aid) and cross the fingers that this helped. Well, I'm happy to say, that did the trick.

It's been over a month, way over, and so far, so good. After all these months, waiting, service calls, repairs, phone calls, trips to Miracle Ear, **, whining, etc., finally, somebody finally figured it out. I have to admit that I've gone from very upset and angry at Miracle Ear to relatively calm and somewhat satisfied. I strongly urge anyone considering Miracle Ear aids to buy the service contract at the beginning. Even with all the problems, I've never had to pay a dime extra for any of the 44 service orders. The staff have been great, very professional and helpful. Would I buy there again? No. I'd go to Costco. Better products and lower prices. Oh well, live and learn...

I purchased 2 hearing aids from Miracle Ear. I've had them fixed several times and the repairs don't last much over a week. I'm tired of having to come in to get them fixed or adjusted all the time. I lost one and they told me I could get it replaced for $500. Why should I pay $2000 for one when I could get one for $500. I bought a hearing aid for $29.95 that you don't have to buy batteries for because it comes with a charger. I can adjust the volume myself. It works just as good as Miracle Ear. I feel Miracle Ear should replace mine for free because of the high price I paid for them. I would not recommend these to anyone.

When he attempted to return it, they said he had waited too long, then offered to return $300, then $500, then $1000. Only when Sears was contacted and legal action threatened, did they finally return my dad's money. Do not do business with Miracle Ear. Sears is aware of this.

The top of the line was purchased, RIC BTE for $5500, September 2011. I was also sold a computer program that was to help me understand the words being heard with the hearing aids. Another $100 was spent. The technician said to try molded ear pieces, another $75.00. I have been in to their location dozens of times complaining of squealing. I asked the technician to turn the op-amp down as the gain was too high on the high tones. Both hearing aids have been sent back to the depot to be checked out, and came back doing the same squealing. As of the first of 2014 they have closed and relocated some place else. I encourage everyone in the market for hearing aids to seek out independent audiologists. Since you are reading this on your computer, search out brand reviews and prices. I originally talked with Beltone and then Miracle Ear because they advertise so much and have serviced offices everywhere. I went to Miracle Ear and the prices seemed way too expensive, but I was able to negotiate a "savings" of $500 for the lowest quality devices. They do not stock any hearing aids, so I had to wait. After a week of waiting I searched out an independent audiologist.

Bottom line: Better exam, more thorough hearing test AND a hearing aid with a good warranty and service agreement and 24 channels versus 6 for the Miracle Ear for $1000 LESS. The devices I ordered arrived in two days. The brand I bought is irrelevant because there are several TOP RATED brands. Beltone and Miracle Ear have poor ratings.

After reading so many poor reviews about Miracle Ear Hearing Aids, I was compelled to share my positive experience. I purchased behind-the-ear hearing aids for both ears a few months ago. I also bought a remote that allowed me to use my cell phone Bluetooth to answer and talk on the phone and listen to wireless iTunes, Pandora, etc. They are very small and they have been undetected by people who would tell me if they noticed them. They work flawlessly and have really enhanced the quality of my life. I can now hear well for the first time in a number of years, even in high noise environments, such as restaurants. My experience with the local Miracle Ear representative was also very positive. Eric ** here in Roseville, CA was very professional and pleasant and set up my hearing aids with great skill. I have met with him in three weekly appointments where he made necessary adjustments to accommodate my hearing needs and to answer any questions I had.

I have used Miracle Ear for a number of years and basically had very little problems. I, too, have experienced sporadic chirping for no apparent reason and they could never figure out what caused it because, of course, it never happened when I needed it to. My complaint at this time is that I purchased new aids and was told my insurance company was going to pay all but a very minimal amount. Once we realized that there was a mistake on the part of the insurance company, I called ME corporate describing what had happened and told them I needed to talk to someone that would authorize my returning the aids in the event my insurance did not come through. It was 5 days past the 30-day allowance. I went through all the details, and afterwards was told someone else would have to call me back. NO CALL. I waited a few more days and went through the whole situation again and was given the same response. AGAIN, NO CALL. I really held Miracle Ear in high regards until this. They couldn't even give me the courtesy of a return call even if the outcome would have been that I couldn't return them. Turns out I did not need to return them, but after reading these blogs and my situation, I am starting to regret giving them my business! I would NOT recommend them from now on.

I have had numerous problems with my hearing aids... If they do work, it only lasts a few days. I have been back and back and get the runaround and no results. I am so sorry I ever bought from them without first checking with Consumer Reports or BBB, as it is obvious I am not alone. My friend bought hearing aids from Costco at less than half of what I paid and they work like a charm... plus service is available in their stores. The first office I dealt with was at Eden Prairie Sears store. The original person I worked with was very good but she, like others, didn't stay long. They closed that office (without notice) and there was no office for a period of time.

They finally opened another office and I have been there several times, but still the hearing aids do not work properly. The person working there says part of the problem is the computer is so old that it doesn't work properly so that prevents her being able to fix them. They don't always answer the phone so you have to leave a message. It is rare they call you back. When confronted, it is always "We were just getting your file to call you" - whatever good the file will do over the phone! I have requested an appointment with someone from their factory and finally have one, but the ONLY time available was Friday at 4:00. I asked if possible to do it earlier and the answer was NO... They were probably hoping if they scheduled it late enough on a Friday, that we would cancel.

I have no faith in them. Wish I could get my money back and go elsewhere. My only consolation is that I have told everyone I know that is considering getting a hearing aid not to go to Miracle Ear... and I will continue to do so. They are simply horrible and their service is totally unacceptable.

Several times I thought the right aid had gone dead, but I would start to remove it and the sound came back. They would chirp all the time when there's no loud noise. If I had the choice to buy hearing aids again, I would not choose Miracle Ear. Over $5,500.00 totally overpriced. That was with a discount of buy one and 1/2 on the second. And if it was paid for by a certain time, she would receive discounts. There were no rewards, no discounts and a lot of interest charges. Three days ago, she dropped her hearing aid and ran over it with her power chair. It broke into a million pieces. She called the store and the lady said, "Oh well, bring it in and we will help you."

She got to the store and the lady told her she could get a new one for 1,000 plus dollars or repair that one for $500. Some warranty. On January 3, 2013, my mother went with an elderly friend of hers to Miracle Ear (her friend has hearing aids through them) in Carlisle, PA. During the course of the visit, my mother told them she did not think her hearing aids were working and would they look at them. We had purchased her hearing aids in September of 2008 from another hearing aid store in Carlisle, PA (which later moved to Chambersburg, PA). The Miracle Ear representative told her there was something wrong with both hearing aids, and she would have to take them back to where she purchased them. She “supposedly” said she didn't want to drive to Chambersburg so the representative proceeded to show her the Miracle Ear hearing aids.

After he showed her what they had, the representative said he showed her how much her payments would be and she said she could afford $158 a month. She got home and told us she bought new hearing aids. We asked how much she paid. She said the paper they gave her said $669, but she needed $300 to pick them up. The day after she picked them up, we were at her apartment and asked to see the paperwork. When we looked at the paperwork, we found out these hearing aids were actually $6,690. Like I said, she gave them $300 but the balance was being financed. She had no paperwork showing how much her monthly payments were going to be, how many years they were being financed, or how much the interest rate was going to be.

After looking at the paper, we did see they could be returned within 30 days but she would lose her $300. Well $300 is a lot of money for my mother because she lives in a low-income apartment for seniors. These hearing aids had to go back because she could not afford them, and we were sure there was nothing wrong with her old ones. I made the mistake of calling and telling Miracle Ear we were returning the hearing aids because they saw an elderly person coming and took advantage of her. They were on the defensive immediately. The representative would not talk to me on the phone, nor would he return my call. The first time I went to the office, they told me he was not in but they expected him shortly. I waited and then they said he would not be back, but he would talk to me on the phone.

I am 99% sure he was in the back of the building but would not come out. He said she had a scheduled appointment, which was 3 days later, and I had to come back then. In the meantime, we did get the payment book and found out the total cost of these hearing aids with interest would be $9,844. When I went back 3 days later, I was still really upset and told him my mother did not know what she was signing and that she thought she was only paying $699 for these hearings aids. He said he did not do anything wrong because my mother knew exactly what she was doing and what she was signing, and that I did not know what I was talking about.

My mother does not even know how to write a check. When you talk to her, she seems like she knows what she is doing but does not fully understand when it comes to finances and contracts (she only went to 8th grade). He told me he has a lot of people over 100 years old coming in alone to purchase hearing aids, and they know what they are doing. Now I ask you, how many people over 100 years old are driving the streets of Carlisle, PA? We did return the hearing aids and lost $300. I also took her to K & K Hearing Associates in Chambersburg where we purchased her original hearing aids and found out that the only thing that needed to be done was to have them cleaned.

I paid $5,000 for a set of aids a little over two years ago. Since then I have had 5 replaced and 3 repaired under warranty. I got the latest aid back 2 days ago and it just quit. I have spent a lot of money driving to and from aid centers ran by private contractors and done without the aids for weeks while they were sent to shops for repair. One of the contractors was insulting and did not want to bother with warranty work. Another said I was ripped off when I paid $5,000 for them in the first place. I have had it and wish to sue the company. I do not care that they are honoring the warranty when my aids are always in the shop and spending time and money running back and forth 60 miles to pick them up. Miracle Aid is junk. Avoid them.

The first pair of hearing aids started making clinking and feedback-type noises almost immediately after I got them. I put up with them for a couple of months. Then one morning, when I took them out of the charging stand, they would not come on. I tried other batteries and they still wouldn't work. I took them back to Miracle Ear Hearing Center 2232 North 7th Suite #6, Grand Jct., CO and told them I wanted my money back. They said they wouldn't give my money back, but would replace them. I waited for 3 weeks and finally called to see what happened to them. Miraculously, they had arrived that day. The new set lasted about 5 days before they also started making the same clinking noises. The longer I wear them, the worse the clinking noises get. For $6,000.00, these things should work flawlessly!

They are overpriced, and they're never in their office and are sloppy. The best response is I don't know. I don't know how they stay in business. I would never recommend them. OMG, I cannot believe so many complaints against one product and so many seniors are being ripped off by their company. I have purchased 3 sets of hearing aids in my years since starting to use them and have encountered all the same problems, and some I have tripled the purchase cost because of the number of times I had to send them in and each minimum cost to send them in. I again have two dead hearing aids and I will not return to the service of this company. I just wish I had looked this up before this. I have invested well over $12,000 and lucky I have Blue Cross Blue Shield - they allowed me one purchase of aids. That puts the total wasted with Miracle Ear over $15,000.00 and again, I am in deaf space.

This set started acting up only weeks after I received them and they had all their money. I returned and returned and each time I received a different excuse as to why they would act. I finally gave up when the little stem you remove broke off and they wanted as much to fix that as a complete repair. I only hope folks read these complaints before they go or go for their loved ones go looking for aids.

My mother has Miracle-Ear aids. She paid $4000 for them in 2007. She has had nothing but trouble. Every time she went in for the 3-mo. check up, the worker always wanted to send them off for $96 or more. What really broke the camel's back was this ... She went into the branch in Park Place in Tucson, AZ in 2011. The battery door on both aids had broken off, therefore air was getting in the windows on these aids. Candace told her that the air getting into the window was fine, but to get the battery doors fixed, they would have to be sent off for $396. She couldn't afford this so she has had to use these broken aids for over a year, until ... we happened to go into another hearing aid establishment and showed them these broken aids.

They fixed them on the spot for no charge and said that Miracle Ear doesn't have a good rep. Why couldn't Miracle Ear fix my mother's aids over a year ago? Also, only 2 years after she got these aids, Miracle Ear was sending letters to her telling her it was time for new aids. This other establishment said that any hearing aid should last at least 5 years. I called and complained to Candace at Park Place in Tucson AZ and she said that they always have these replacement doors for the aids and she insisted that my mother never told her they were broken. What she forgets is that I was with my mother at that appointment and she even examined them and told my mother that she didn't need the doors on them.

I am really upset that you took $4000 from my mother and never stood behind your product. From what I see from this website, you have a lot of dissatisfied customers that have also been mistreated and robbed, So, what do you have to say for yourself? I even contacted your "so-called" CEO here in Tucson. His name is Joel. My mother tried to explain to him about her hearing aids and he kept telling her that he didn't know what she was talking about. Then, he proceeded to make an appointment for her to come in and talk to him. She called him back the next morning to confirm the appointment and she talked to Julie. She told my mom that he didn't want her to come in because he was just too busy to handle her complaint and that she should handle it through Park Place. Well, that's why she contacted him; it was because she didn't get any satisfaction from Park Place. How does a CEO of a business not know anything about the product they sell? For all of the problems that my mother has had with your product, she deserves a refund. Your reps never did a thing for her! I can't wait to see what kind of reply you'll put together.

Each time I went in for an adjustment (about 6 times in 18 months), I was told the technology was improving and I should think about upgrading. I took the appliances in on Monday and was told on Tuesday that the technician could not repair them. The tech told me that he would have to send them to the factory for repair. Right away, my chart was pulled and the conversation went immediately to when I would be eligible for replacement. It was even pointed out from my chart that the ones I am wearing were purchased less than a year ago. When these have to be replaced, you can be assured it won't be by Miracle Ear. They told her that their hearing aid would help her and tested a hearing aid in a quiet small lobby. There, she thought she did hear better. She purchased it and took it home. Once she was home, she realized that it did not work out in the real world. She went back to say she could not hear well. They told her it just needed adjustment. My mother went back five times and was told every excuse from batteries she was using to her brain needed to adjust to it and that it just needed time. Well, time went after their 30-day money back policy and now they will not return her money. It now just stopped working and they will still not help her.

I spoke to Sylvia, the hearing instrument specialist, and was shocked to hear the reasons she had in my mom's file for coming in to see them. Fittings, batteries, nothing about what my mom really went in about. My mom would tell me each time and the last time, it was to tell them it did not work. That visit, Sylvia had logged down that my mom complained about the batteries being used up so fast. I was shocked. I was there myself. I told her it did not work for my mom. They won't refund. They want her to take home what she had. We left that hearing aid there last Friday. Sylvia was not there. Talking to Sylvia today, she told me she was not here to make my mom happy and that she was mailing the hearing aid back to mom. My mother is 83 years old and was paying for this hearing aid out of her Social Security because she was told she would be able to hear again.

I was told that the technician would not be available until after the warranty expired. They then got permission to extend the warranty for one month. They then sent my aids from Butte to Missoula for repair. They replaced them with a pair that was not mine. The replacements did not work from the day I received them and I was told that the warranty had expired, so therefore the new ones did not have a warranty. I was told initially that the aids had to be programmed for my ears, and that I should not allow anyone else to try them.

It seemed incongruous to me that the original ones had to be programmed for me specifically, but, when a replacement is provided, any Miracle Ear Hearing Aid fits the bill. I believe I should have received my original hearing aids back after repair. I would not accept an appliance or a television set back from a repair facility which was not the same one I turned in for repair. Why should a $5,600 pair of hearing aids be any different, particularly since the original ones were programmed especially for me?

This is June 26 and the installment loan is still not cancelled. I do not have the hearing aids. I have been given the runaround because no one seems to know how to cancel the loan. The payment is due on July 1st. I do not want to pay for something that I never received. Below is an explanation:

On May 29, 2012, I went to Sears Miracle Ear with a card that said the ear exam was free. Dave ** was the specialist who did the examination. He told me that I needed hearing aids. So, I ordered the hearing aids from the Sears Miracle Hearing Center. They have installment program through the GE Capital Retail Bank. They required a $200.00 deposit, which I paid from my Citizens Debit Account and filled out the form for the installment loan in the amount of $2,640.00 minus the $200.00 deposit, made the balance $2,440.00. I went back to Miracle Ear on June 7, 2012 and cancelled the hearing aids and asked for the loan to be cancelled. Shelley tabulated what she thought was a cancellation, but it was not tabulated correctly. What happened was another $200.00 was deducted from the loan. There was no cancellation of the loan. So on June 11, 2012, I received from GE Capital Bank a payment book slip for $67.78 to be applied to the loan of $2,240.00.

Now, it began as $2,640.00 minus deposit of $200.00, which left the loan to be $2,440.00. However, Shelley, by mistake, deducted another $200.00 thinking that she was asking for the original $200.00 to be returned to my debit account. That left the loan balance at $2,240.00. Where did the second $200.00 came from? I don't know. It didn't come out of my debit account; that must be floating in a machine somewhere. Shelley understood that she did not tabulate the cancellation correctly, so she asked me to come back on June 8, 2012 and Sharon, the Miracle Ear office manager, would know what to do to cancel the loan. However, Sharon did nothing more on June 8, 2012. However, she assured me not to worry, all was taken care of. I kept checking my debit account for the deposit of the $200.00 back into my account, it didn't happen and it hasn't happened.

On June 13, 2012, when I received the payment book from GE Capital Bank, I called the GE Capital Bank and talked to a Werner. He informed me that nothing had been received for a cancellation of the loan and neither had a refund for the $200.00 been received. So, I went back to Sears Miracle Ear and talked with Sharon. She again assured me that all was taken care of and she gave me a copy of the register receipt, which was from June 7, 2012, the same tabulation that Shelley had done and admitted that it was incorrect. Sharon had done nothing more. I talked with Dave **, the hearing specialist, and he too assured me that the loan had been cancelled. He was looking at the same receipt from June 7, 2012 that Shelley had tabulated and admitted that it was not done correctly. She was assuming that Sharon would be able to do it correctly.

I called GE Capital Bank on June 20, 2012 and talked with a Lou Ann. She informed me that the only tabs they received were for another $200.00 to be deducted from the loan. She advised me to call Sears Manager. I tried, not in. No one in the Customer Service Department has the expertise to cancel this loan. Now I have no hearing aids, no $200.00 and a loan for $2,240.00 which I have nothing to show for it. The monthly payment is $67.78, but for what? I want the loan cancelled (which the bank claims must come from the Sears store) and I want the return of the $200.00 deposit. Please take care of this before July 1st - that is when the first payment is due to GE Capital Bank.

He said, “I have no way to work on them because your records are in Media, PA, where you bought them.” He said the technician should have programmed the aid when it came back from the factory in January.

I received a new aid from the factory, delivered to Sun City office. The technician tuned both hearing aids but was rude and kept saying I should go back to where I bought it. One week later (April 7th, 2012), the remote, that I paid $500 for, quit working and both aids staring squealing. I returned to the Sun City office and the technician said I will send both aids and remote back to the factory. I asked if there was any way he could try to adjust the levels and he said no, they most go back to the factory so now I am without hearing aids for who knows how long. These are not technicians. Miracle Ear did not reimburse me what they said they would. They are a big scam. I went to ** ***, Gainesville, GA to have my hearing tests and ordered the hearing aids through that company. Also, the Miracle Ear home office that they could not account for my complaint, because they are accountable for Miracle Ear as they are personally owned. I purchased hearing aids from them in June of 2011. My insurance paid October 28, 2011. I was supposed to get a refund from Miracle Ear. They promised to pay since then but they just ignored me.

We went to Sears and had her audio tested and the girl fitted both ears with miracle ears even when we only wanted one to replace the old one. The girl told us that we had 30 days to return them. She never mentioned anything about a 10 percent per hearing aid taken from the deposit. When my wife went to return them because her 20-year hearing aid still worked better than the miracle ear, the girl would not let her return them until my wife went and had a paper notarized releasing her from any blame and took $500.00 from our down payment. That is my hard earn money, almost a weeks pay and we got nothing in return I am very angry about this so I am warning everyone beware of the biggest scam ever, Miracle Ear.

I took my mother's hearing aid to the office on 103rd Street in Kansas City, MO for repair. The guy I talked to was so arrogant from the beginning that I knew there was going to be a problem. He wanted me to bring my mother in because she might need hearing tests for new hearing aids. I told him they worked fine and she was in a nursing facility and I wasn't going to bring her in. I just wanted it fixed. After arguing with them for awhile and being told it would be around $500 and 2-4 weeks for repair, I told him no, I would take it somewhere else. He informed me no one else would work on it. I informed him that they would work on it and he wasn't the only game in town.

I then took it to a place close to where I live and for $15, the lady repaired the hearing aid and sent me back with it to my mother. I've found that they are bullies and they intimidate these older people into thinking they have to buy it or else. I would never go back to this office because they didn't care about helping my mother, even though she had purchased them from their company a few years ago. They just want to sell new ones and charge a small fortune. I priced theirs a couple of years ago for my mother and basically the same thing somewhere else and they were almost $3,000 more for the same thing, just the name was different. They have such a racket going and I would never, never, never recommend them to anyone at all. Use a small, hometown company who cares about their customers and what is happening, not gouging someone for all they have. Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service.

Today, Tuesday, January 17th at 10:45, I went to their store in Sears and the sign on the door states their store is now open only Monday-Wednesday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The technician wasn't there and I waited nearly 20 minutes thinking she might have gone to the restroom. Not only is the product not worth the money paid for it but now you can't even depend on the technician to be there when you need help.

The woman who sold them to me became hateful. I even wrote a letter to Sears and told them my problems since they are located in Sears and I got a nice sorry reply.

There was no help even when I talked to the district manager of the corporation in Cincinnati. I even tried Angie’s list. They lied to her. They asked me to go to another location. I refused since they were too far to be running to every couple of weeks. I even asked for half of my money and I would return the faulty aids. No way had they got their money. They ripped off another elderly person on Social Security. It is sad that a company can do this. I pray that other people will learn from my experience. Stay away From Miracle Ears because it would be a Miracle if they worked. Kind Regards Georgia **** .

I have just found out how you can afford all your TV commercials. Two months after my warranty expired, both of my hearing aids suffered the same malfunction--"fluctuation of volume." This is after the payment of $1,000 for their initial purchase. This is obviously a "planned obsolescence" on the part of your company. Then, I found out you have a "flat fee" for the repairs to the tune of $250.00 per hearing aid. So, if it turns out to be a $.50 part that takes 10 minutes to replace, you have made over $225.00 on each aid.

I have read with great interest all of the complaints regarding Miracle-Ear. As a former employee of a Miracle-Ear franchise, I saw SO much unethical practices while employed there. Most generally when you are made to pay upfront, it is because MEMSI, the corporation, has the franchise owner on a credit hold, meaning he has to pay upfront for the hearing aids. They will hold your hearing aid until the franchise owner pays HIS bill.

Miracle-Ear is WAY overpriced because the franchise owner has such large fees to pay MEMSI. If you have no other choice but Miracle-ear, then I suggest that you make sure you purchase inside a SEARS store. Sears will make them refund your money whereas in an independent store, they will use the little part in the purchase agreement that you must exhaust all efforts to adjust to the hearing aid.

I made an appointment to get a hearing check with Miracle Ear last week. They called me today, a week before my appointment, and told me that my appointment was for today, and I had missed it. I told them that I had it written down for next week but the guy said that he "didn't want to make a big deal of it." I wondered why it would be a big deal for them to make a mistake on my appointment day and time.

I told him that we would have to make another appointment. He told me that the re-appointment would be on September 7th, realized that was a mistake, and finally told me that it would be on August 31st. He couldn't get the re-appointment straight, yet I'm supposed to feel guilty because I had an appointment according to their records?

Then, he asked me if I was married. I told him, “yes,” and he told me that my husband needed to come to the appointment because "these units are very expensive," etc. He was probably insinuating that I would need "a husband" to qualify or afford Miracle Ear hearing aids. I told him that I was insured and he asked if I had any idea how much hearing aids cost. I said, “Yes.”

We then got into a conversation about why a hearing aid, at his "base cost," would be $995. I know that there are hearing aids offered for $500 - $600, and although I know those might not be top of the line, or anything I might want, my insurance only covered up to $600 a unit. Out of curiosity, I asked him why he thought hearing aids were so expensive (I am well aware hearing aids today are very expensive), considering you can buy a PC for under $995. He said, “Who do you think pays for the two hours of time we lost today? Those two hours are a loss of money (referring to my alleged missed appointment).”

I then told him he didn't have to be a snotty ** because I wouldn't be doing business with Miracle Ear at all. I hung up after that. If this is an example of how they treat potential clients, I wouldn't trust them to be an honest, thorough, or reliable source to buy hearing aids from.

The hearing aid they gave her did not work properly. She returned numerous times. Now they are requesting she try a hearing aid which goes behind her ears and is very visible. This is not the device she paid for. They are holding her responsible for the entire cost and if she does not pick up the aids, they plan on mailing them to her. My mother is 83 years old.

My thoughts are, Miracle Ear preys on the elderly and hard of hearing. A true professional medical appliance operation would not require someone to pay $4,000 for a device which is not of their choice. The first device did not work and make loud noises which were heard by all in her presence.

Since I live a distance from my mother, all these was done without me being present. When I did go to an appointment with her, they refused to allow my mother to see her records.

From Day 1, I had problems with the right aid, i.e., sounding like I was in a tunnel talking and feedback in that ear. I stated to Ms. V. that this was an extreme problem but she indicated that it was because I had never wore an aid in the right ear and she kept adjusting it week after week. I told her that I wanted the in-the-ear aid. She told me to continue to try the ones I had. She finally took all the high tones from the aid and consequently, I could not hear anything on the right side.

When I returned from vacation, I told her that the aid absolutely wasn't working. I could not hear anything if the person was on my right side and I wanted some type of resolution to this problem. I also have problems because I wear glasses part of the time and every time I take the glasses off, the hearing aid also comes out.

When I got ready to leave, Shanelle had my hearing aids and was going to keep my aids. She would not give them back to me. I got up and left but then came back and requested that she give me my aids. All I want is to be able to hear and if I cannot do that with this model of aids, then refund my money less what the agreement states "the seller may keep either one hundred fifty dollars or fifteen percent of the total purchase price, whichever is less." I realized that I did not rescind the agreement within thirty days in writing but thought by expressing my displeasure in person, this would suffice. I am a senior citizen on a limited income. I cannot afford to purchase another pair of hearing aids without getting at least a partial reimbursement from Miracle Ear. This has put me under considerable physical stress of attempting to deal with Ms. V. with increase in blood pressure which has brought on a number of physical problems. He said he would give me a deal on the fitting fee. Little did I know that there was no fitting fee for this kind of aid. On March 14, I went back and was charged another $300.00 for fitting for in the ear aids. I was told it would be a while before the aids arrived. I told Mr. L. that I would be in Virginia at that time. He took my daughter’s address and mailed the aids to me.

That way they would have been tested and I would have been informed on what to do.

Also, I should have received a kit to store the aids and how to clean them. He ordered another type of aid. When they came in he gave me the kit, explained how to clean them but never tested my hearing with them. Within a week I had a blister in one ear and could not wear the aid. At the same time, while shopping at Wal-Mart, there was Miracle Ear's tech selling another brand of hearing aid. I went over and spoke to him. He told me to leave the aid out and to come to the Miracle Ear office the next day. At that time he was able to make the aid smoother. A short time later, the piece that you pull the aid out with broke off. Back to the office and it was re-glued.

Later, it came out again but I was too disgusted to go back. Now the second one has come off. It is hard to get the aids out of my ears and I am so fed-up that I hardly wear them. They stay in the case. I do try wearing them to the movies but they are really no help. Speaking voices are never clear and I have to take them out. I am sure that they need some kind of adjustment but I am tired of fooling with them. At home I now have a set of earphones that allow me to hear the TV and a telephone that is for the hard of hearing but otherwise I am no better off then when I first went to Miracle Ear for help. It has been two years of hell!

The money that I spent is money that I can hardly afford to lose but I don't know where to turn for help. It is a waste of time going to Miracle Ear and I would never refer anyone to them. What can I do? The aids were expensive and I really trusted in Miracle Ear to be honest. While there has been no physical damage other than the blister, it has been a highly stressful time in that my husband is always giving me a hard time about not wearing the aids. He does not understand that they are more a hindrance than a help. Nothing is clear and it is hard on my nerves.

I bought two new hearing aides for about $7000.00. Needed them adjusted, so I went to the office. Sign in door said, “Closed.” No warning, no card or phone call. Now I cannot get them adjusted. I’m out of money and cannot use them as is.

I purchased 2 BTE aids about 2 years ago. They have been in for repair at least 4 times in the last 2 years. The last time, I had to pay to have them repaired. Each time they come back, the programming has to be redone. I have had to return for reprogramming literally dozens of times. The factory programming was entirely too harsh. The audiologist had to continually try to reset the aids so that speech was understandable, without success. The adjustments are done in a quiet office. There is no way to tell if the changes are correct until I return to the outside world. I have 9-year old analog aids that work quite well. Keeping aids 9 years that still work indicates that I do not abuse aids! I am able to understand speech with them but they were getting old. The franchise owner for Miracle Ear stated that I needed to pay more money for an upgrade. Yeah, sure. I have purchased aid online that I can program myself. I have these BTE digital aids working just fine!

I am sending on behalf of my father. He has had three pairs within the past 10 years; not to mention, they are seniors on a fixed income and still paying on the product. I have called your Consumer Affairs Dept. and got the runaround. They tried to make you feel you're stupid or say, "Sorry, out of warranty." What about satisfaction guarantee? It had been issue after issue with the hearing aids, not to mention the money it costs to get them repaired. If you ever call in about them, you need to have all your dates because they do not even have accurate records, dates so it's sol. I am frustrated on how to handle this. We just want them to be replaced right. It's sorry on Miracle Ear's part to not even have an ounce of feeling and listen to the complaint instead of pushing blame to others to get out.

My mom, who is 82, went with my father for her appointment. She arrived about 25 minutes early, and knew she would have to wait a little while. Several technicians were walking around and greeted them. The receptionist told my mom she was early, which her reply is, "Yes, I know." The doctor came out and shook my mom's hand. My mom said, "Your hands are cold." He said, "Yes, I just went to the bathroom and washed them!" No one was in the office but they would not take my mom five minutes early. They left when they weren't waited on.

Curt customer representative of Sears hearing aid department. They took $4,800 for hearing aids from my senior friend and we're going around and around. My friend has been back and forth to Sears getting these hearing aids adjusted. Sears is not standing behind their satisfaction or your money back guarantee. My senior friend has had to return to the store numerous times, and would like her money back because THEY DON'T WORK. The people at Sears and now the Miracle Ear representative are not honoring her request. She paid the full amount in GOOD FAITH and should be reimbursed. On her behalf, I was trying to help her and just now, Mr. ** was curt and sarcastic to me.

I bought 2 hearing aids in Sept. of 2007 and paid $6200.00 plus tax which made the total $6800.00. They have been nothing but trouble. The left one made my hear sore and swollen. They feed back when you hear music, birds singing and sometimes when people speak. I could not use the phone with them, they would feed back. I had ordered the small CIC. I have a pair I have been wearing for 6 years and they work fine.

Well Sara sent the left one back to have it put in an hyperallergenic shell. When it came back, she then sent the right one off to have it put in another shell also. So in Nov. I finally had both of them at the same time, she tried to adjust them and could not get them to where I could wear them. I was going back every week, sometimes she would not do anything, told me the computer was not working and another time she just did not show up. I called her the last of Nov. and she told me she had talked to the company and they told her to send them back to have them put in a 1/2 shell case and they would put a button on them so I could use the phone.

I got them back and she just put a battery in both of them and gave them to me and told me to wear them. They still feed back to the point of hurting my ears and I could not use the phone with them or understand what others were saying. She finally told me to go to Huntsville, AL to let someone else adjust them because she did not know any thing else to do. I told her I wanted a refund, because I can't wear these, they aren't right for me. She told me my time had ran out. So I had already filed a complaint with consumer of Miracle ear, the manufacture M-E and the BBB.

Bob Hessin just told me the main store will have to handle this and sent me some paperwork to fill out. The BBB never heard from them, I tried to call the main man, Randy, in Florida and he has never returned my phone calls. Since Jan. 2008 I have been back to Huntsville 5-6 times and they have sent my aids back to have them worked on and I still can't use them. My old ones still work better and the new ones are supposed to be state of the art. The BBB recommended that I file a claim in the small claims court. I just want my money back so I can try another brand of aids, these do not work for me. I have spent most of my off days going back to have these adjusted and have had sleepless nights worrying about what to do about this issue. Do I just put them in a drawer and forget about them? I sure am glad I did not trade my old ones in on these, I would be in trouble, because I am a nurse and need them to help me function on my job.

I Paid $6800.00 for them and have used most of my days off going back to have them adjusted and now have to drive to another town. I still can't use them and have had them 6 months. I have lost a lot of sleep worrying about what to do. This has made me depressed and I have left the hearing aid office in tears, I just don't know what to do.
