What is Beachbody?

Beachbody’s weight loss programs motivate and encourage you to follow through with your health and fitness goals. One of Beachbody’s benefits is the emphasis on its community, which provides participants with an active support system. Another highlight is the Beachbody app. Through the app, users have easy access to workouts, meal plans and fitness tracking tools.

How does Beachbody work?

Beachbody offers a variety of products and services, but all of them share the same goal: to make weight loss easier. Participants sign up with a Beachbody coach who guides them through their weight loss journey. These coaches help them choose a program and find products that give them the results they want.

The Beachbody diet program is one of the company’s more popular services. Although there is no specific scientific study backing the program, the company based this diet on common weight loss principles. For instance, the 21 Day Fix eliminates added sugar and refined carbohydrates, which are known to contribute to weight gain.

Beachbody programs

There are several Beachbody programs. Each one has different benefits, such as workout videos and Beachbody meal plans.

Like the 21 Day Fix, this program has you use containers to measure out your portions. Costs start at $74, and buyers get access to cooking videos, resources and the Beachbody community.
  • The Monthly Fix: While the Ultimate Portion Fix comes with 30 days of meal plans and support, the Monthly Fix takes things one step further. After you purchase the Ultimate Portion Fix, you can pay $19.95 a month to get 24/7 access to The Monthly Fix. This gives you FIXATE recipes, meal plans, check-ins and ongoing support from the community. Billing is automatic every month until you cancel.
  • Beachbody Ultimate Reset: Beachbody Ultimate Reset is a 21-day cleanse that eliminates bad foods and toxins from your diet. The base kit costs $199.95, which includes supplements designed to cleanse your body, a three-part nutrition plan and fitness tips.

    I had a subscription to BODi for a couple of years, bought Shakeology, and several other products. I recently canceled my subscription way before my yearly renewal. They renewed my subscription anyways. I contacted customer service who told me I had to fill out a request for my money to be refunded. I did that and the results came in. Support reminded me of the boxes I checked, refused to refund me, and then said not to contact customer service because they couldn’t help me. They deducted $195 from my account and was very rude about it. Very poor customer service. They advertise that you can cancel anytime but that cancellation is not always full proof.

      I should have read these reviews. I would never had signed up for this product. Today 8.15. I noticed my debit card was charged $179. My membership would have expired today 8.15 I haven't used my membership for over 1 year. Between my bad knee and my Mom's death I was not in the mental frame of mind to use the product.

      I called customer service 8.15, I was trying to explain to the rep I wanted a refund for my cancellation. She was talking over me, I could barely speak. I told her I didn't appreciate the way she was talking over me. I asked to speak to a Supervisor and she told me she was part of the escalation team and I could not speak to anyone else. She told me to fill out the form online explaining reading for cancellation which I did. Later today I received a response stating I was not entitled to a refund. Email stated they sent me an cancellation email in July. Check my email and I never received the email she was referring to. This is such a shady company. I will NEVER refer this company to anyone!!

      I have been a Beachbody (BODI) member for several years. In November of 2023, I cancelled my subscription. The agent that I spoke to at the time said that my access would be deleted immediately, but there would be no refund and I would have to pay for the remainder of my subscription, which didn't end until August 2024. He then said he could re-instate my account, but would remove me from auto-renewal. It's now August of 2024, and surprise, surprise, BODI auto-renewed my account. I never received an email stating that this would happen.

      I've read enough reviews to see that this is not a standard auto-renewal letter sent from BODI. I never received the letter and I never read it, though BODI's bots will respond saying that you did. I called an agent a few days ago to tell them of the situation and she told me to fill out an exception form and that she had notes in my account from my previous cancellation and it would be no problem to get my refund. To no one's surprise, BODI rejected my exemption. Their business practices are unethical and illegal. In addition, you are unable to delete your account and unlink your credit card information, which is how they continue to auto-renew your account. I will be pursuing legal action and I encourage others to do the same.

      I signed up for Beachbody in 2019 during pandemic. I canceled my subscription or so I thought on November 2020 and received confirmation of my cancellation but yet still get charged yearly the 200 dollars to use the videos which I have not used since 2020. To get a refund, you have to petition for it. The shakes are good, but not worth the high price.

      It's like another course-selling company; they get your money, and that's it, no cancellation, no refund, and no update. Sadly, my card was on auto pay and somehow I noticed it one day later, and I am done for for the entire year.

      I feel duped by the auto renewal practices of this company. I ALWAYS turn off auto-renew so was shocked to see a charge to my credit card. I'm not saying that I did turn it off, all I'm saying is that I typically make it a practice to turn them off, so not sure what happened there. Anyway, I cancelled immediately and searched for an email that would have alerted me to the upcoming payment. The email I found was super sneaky and not oblivious at all! Unless you read the whole email - which is unlikely because they send so many emails, you wouldn't know it's an alert.

      I contacted the company and asked for my money back as I will not be using the service at all. I was told to send an email to support asking for a policy exception and explaining why I felt they should refund it. I did this and got a response back that said they would not refund my money and then referenced the auto renewal email that I reference above. In my opinion these are sneaky tactics and they should be ashamed of their business practices. For a platform that is supposed to help people become better versions of themselves, they should have better more ethical business practices themselves. Shame on them.

      I have used the BODi platform for about 2 years, on and off. I was not planning to renew my subscription for another year as I found a fitness platform that I prefer over this one. However, I just noticed my credit card was charged for another year for $179. I missed the auto-subscription by two days. When I called customer service, they told me that they could not do anything. So, I filled out a complaint. That, too, resulted in a “no refund” response. They did send an email reminder in June, but it looked just like all of the other emails they send (so many per week) that I didn’t pay attention to it. If they really wanted their customers to make a choice in choosing a program that they are “100% satisfied with” they would send out a clear reminder, not one that purposefully gets hidden by the rest of the spam they send.

      I’m incredibly disappointed in the lack of care for their customers. If you are thinking of purchasing this platform, I would go in a direction. It is your typical multi-level marketing scheme…. A coach recruits you, they then try to recruit you to be a coach so they make more money. I’m disappointed in myself that I ever signed on. Do not make the same mistake!

      This company will automatically renew your subscription with no warning. I tried to cancel and they cancelled but refused to refund the $179 fee. I had been a member since 2019, had not used since Feb 2023 and they can clearly see this. The auto renew is in the fine print of the contract. Convenient. No repeat emails about renewals. AVOID THIS COMPANY. Horrible customer service.

      I have had the same experience with the autorenewal. I am curious how much of their income is from subscribers that were unaware of the increase in price and the autorenewal. They believe that sending an email justifies them taking your money for a product you do not wish to use. The company does not care about you. They care about their bottom line. I will never work with this company again.

      If I could I would rate this company a zero but this was not an option. Beachbody has a very unethical business practice. They automatically sign you up for auto renewal. After being a paying customer for 2 years. I saw that my credit card was charged for a 3rd year of service and I immediately cancelled. They did not refund my money and they canceled my service from the program, so Beachbody stole $188.85 from me. As far as the program is concerned. After 2 years of use. I did not see results. I started a free program from YouTube and lost 45lbs in 4 months. Please save your money and don’t not do business with these thieves.
