Please do not waste your money on the Walmart Money Card, no matter how small the amount. My son bought one and put 35 dollars on it, not a large amount. The initial purchase was 1 dollar, then they deducted another 5.95 to activate. My son is 18, but they claimed that they could not verify his identity even though he validated the email they sent him for this purpose. He was going to use 25 dollars of this money to have his real estate exam proctored. He lost his money and had to find a different way to pay for it.

My child received a Walmart money card as a gift for a birthday present. I had to register it in mine name since he was a minor. I closed the card but every year I was getting a statement. Every year for 7 years! I call every time to asking them NOT to send me a statement. I just received another statement with monthly maintenance fees applied. How can money card charge fees on a card that’s closed? It’s nearly impossible to get to a customer service representative. I don’t have the card anymore so no card number to enter. Definitely DO NOT buy this card. It’s a money fee SCAM!

Double charges galore! Poor customer service! Been on hold over 45 minutes 3 times! Still no help! Thieves! They will keep double charging you over and over! That’s why I tried it out first! Didn’t believe my friend when he told me! Wish I would’ve listened!

New app is sorta of monkey mouse. Moving around. And teller withdrawals are declined but atm withdrawals works. Old app was smoother. Worked well. Not user-friendly. It needs to have changes made to simplify. Thinking it was released too soon, with glitches in it, should have been worked out by now.

I've had my Walmart Money Card Visa account since it was first offered. I worked there. It was great. After COVID Shutdowns, job losses and limited work options, the card was easily hacked and there was limited customer service help. Cancelling the card, getting a new one meant no access to funds until it arrived. The newest card was hacked after I loaded it at Walmart, before I'd even used it once! My choice was cancel card, wait, get new one AGAIN or just not use it for three weeks and false order would be cancelled. No live representative, only A.I. and no options so I waited. Card was put in storage when I had to move. Unused. I called to cancel since I did not want new card now, but didn't know card numbers. It was unused, charged for three and soon four months active when I found it packed, by friends in wrong box.

This card is trash! I didn't even know it was a bank account. My kids received it as a gift card. Then they charged me $5 a month when they hadn't seen me use it. So they just took the money and left me with a balance. When you call you speak with someone foreign who does not understand you and it makes me even more upset that I'm going through this at all!

I get direct deposit into my acct with Walmart Moneycard for over 5 years now, recently last month they update their app so I had to install their new app so with that I got charged a monthly maintenance fee last month which the refund as a courtesy. Now I got charge this month and they refuse to refund it and told me my employer needs to fix it. Nothing has changed with my employer, only changes was their system. Then they told me, "Well your direct deposit come under the category unknown and has been," then I said then why wasn't I charged a monthly maintenance fee then they had no explanation. Their requirements to avoid a monthly maintenance fee is to have direct deposit come on 500 a month I have 700 goes in every 2 wks goes. I am so frustrated they won't fix it and blaming my employer.

Was charged an overdraft fee of 15 dollars even though my account was never overdrawn. I contacted them online and they said it was valid and that they won’t reverse it. I asked them how was my account overdrawn even though it’s not and never was. They just disconnected me.

System keeps rejecting activation- worthlees customer service says there are problems with the system and they can NOT help. Card was needed to pay a bill and now bill is past due due to poor performance of activation. Three calls to customer service - earliest answer after being on hold was 19 minutes

Horrible customer service. Have money in savings and due to website down unable to transfer to card and causing me a overdraft fee. Customer service was no help. Just kept repeating same thing over and over asked for supervisor and after hold same lady came on pretend to be supervisor.

Ever since the new app release I have had nothing but trouble logging in, at least 3 times a week. And customer service always has technical problems and won't answer. I'm thinking it's time to switch to something more reliable.

They stole my money. I had an account with them on their money card then I canceled it over a year ago. After I canceled it they ended up just blocking the card so that it could not be used without my knowledge allowing the bill to build up. I went to use my credit card on the Walmart website and without my permission they stole money off of my credit card to pay off late fees for a card that was shut down over a year ago.

We had nothing but trouble from the moment I got the cards. They were to use on vacation. I couldn't get it activated because of updates I guess. So we had to use a credit card to replace the Walmart Moneycard which we wanted to avoid. Then there was a problem with the card so we had limited use of the card; no cash withdrawals, limited places we could use it. I won't ever use one again. I very rarely write negative reviews, but the money card didn't work for us at all.

I got scam on my Walmart MoneyCard. Somebody took $200 off my money card and I called the back of the card and nobody can help me. And they take off my information and they hang up on me, they don't help me. I want my money. The customer service sucks. I think there's people they didn't ask me what happened. They just said you can't help me. And you believe it's illegal? You then need to return our money. They said that they were gonna protect our money. They don't protect our money. They just probably take it. I want my money. I've been dragged around for the last 2 weeks.

They are thieves who stole our money. It takes 30 mins to talk to a person who doesn’t actually understand English and does not help you. You’re better off with cash or a gift card. They are terrible thieves.

I have had Walmart MoneyCard since 2015 but now I am going to get rid of them due to the new app and not be able to sign in and dealing with customer service over six times being stated that they updated my information but with no positive results.

It is really very bad company. It is kind of impossible to reach to anyone. At the end they are sooooo rude, they don't want to close the account. Finally, when they close it and I ask for a confirmation that they really close it, they refused it. He also refuse to give me his name. They really deserve a minus

Horrid customer service. Leave people with no way to access their funds for days. I'm closing my account. Ship customer service calls overseas. I can never understand these people. Maintenance is leaving me with no way to get gas. Morgan and Morgan are starting a class action lawsuit. I'm joining them.

Sept 21 2025. Customer service unavailable. Card declined trying to buy food for my children. Account is well funded. Wal Mart does not care at all. Karma is a **. Chat does not work. Phone customer service does not work. Again, Wal Mart does not care.

They updated/changed the good app?! They have my paycheck & I can't use my card to eat, pay bills. Acct blocked?! Why? No reason, customer service, a script read to you. Don't get this card bad business! Walmart & whomever dropped the ball. I can't support my family cause my deposit is not in my acct. Can't buy gas, food, or pay my rent thanks to this app! It wasn't broke! Walmart you have too much money for poor service like this. Thousands of people displaced!!! How you gonna fix this, huh!! The c.e.o. Needs to make it right with everyone affected, or step down.

I recently have had my purse stolen & needed to transfer some funds from Venmo & for some odd reason you cannot transfer Venmo to PayPal. So filled out the application for a the Walmart Money Card. First, it was very quick and didn't require anything outside normal information for any basic debit card. That was good. I then was able to link it to Venmo very easily me to transfer the Venmo to Walmart. That was good too. That is where all good things come to an end. Once I returned to the Walmart money card screen I immediately saw that $5.94 was taken out of my account. I have not even received the card but I'm already being charged a monthly fee right off the rip. Not only is that frustrating I find that misleading because it did not state anywhere in the advertisement or on the website that you would pay the monthly fee before you can even use it. So the whole $0 to get your card was equivalent to what comes out of a bull's a**.

Today I am upset regarding my Walmart money card. I have quite a bit of money on it and I'm not able to access it today at all and they're upgrading I guess. No email to warn me no notice ahead of time and my 17 year old granddaughter's birthday was ruined. I was supposed to pick everything up the food, the cake, the presents, everything. I love my Walmart money card and I am don't know if I'm going to continue to use it. This leaves a really bitter taste in my mouth regarding how this was handled. I've had my money card like 15 years and I feel like I deserve better treatment than this. You ruined my granddaughter's 17th birthday. I am livid.

Wish I could do 0 stars. I dread when I have my "fee date" coming up. $6 bucks a month to "use" my own money. Breaking it down comes out to $72 a year to spend my own funds. But the more annoying part, the apparent "Maintenance" that is ALWAYS on going. I don't know about anyone else but in my time with this card it seems that the site is down once a week for "maintenance". I know other prepaids that don't do this and it's always when I need to buy something. Because of this I missed an important time frame so that my 3 yr old son could have his bday gift delivered on time, a late fee incurred by my insurance as they were not able to process my card, and my phone bill late. Avoid like you heard a COVID cough.

They should be called Walmart money thieves. Worst customer service in the industry. Green Dot Bank should be investigated by the Federal authorities for scamming individuals out of their money. They are thieves. Any ATM transaction occurs a fee. Any inquiry on the account occurs a fee.

I have never seen a customer service so incompetent in my entire life. First, I get a paper in the mail saying that I'll start being charged $1 per month unless I "go paperless". The instructions were to click the "go paperless" banner on the top of my online account page. Long story short there was NO banner, OR any other setting that allowed me to choose paperless. I "chatted" with an associate and they literally didn't understand my question. I finally called the Customer Service number. The first time I got disconnected, the second time I was given inaccurate instructions, the third time they tried walking me through the steps, but the "paperless" feature was literally not there. I had to submit a ticket just to go paperless. This issues is still not resolved, but it had better be by August 29th, because I don't want to pay them a dime, let alone a dollar. :-(

First of all there is no customer service email. They have changed the website to where you can no longer do billpay and no longer manage your cash back rewards. They want everything done by downloading their app on the phone. I DO NOT DO BANKING ON MY PHONE!! I would give it negative stars if possible. This is not something you change without warning you in advance.

So fair warning to those who don't use the card and read the reviews first. My personal info was sent to my ex-wife. My bank statement. Something I should be most trusted by a bank not to give out. I try to contact customer service oh what they said was to change a password that I must have gave her access. It is ** cause she sent me a screenshot ask me why it was sent to her phone. So this Bank cannot be trusted with money asses. That's their main job and they failed. So please read this for whoever wants to use this trashy company.

I tried to reach customer service for the Walmart money card for over an hour. I've been a customer for years. They don't care. They don't respond. They can't make up their mind if my account is open or not. I thought it was one way or the other. I've never had such horrible atrocious customer service. Do yourself a favor. Go elsewhere.

1 star is too generous. I bought a Walmart debit card to use for transaction while I waited for a replacement card from Chase. I had fraudulent activity and had to close my account. Put 20 up to open account. Now I can't use it, can't add money. Said they will refund my money in 2 weeks. Horrible customer service. I know things like this doesn't only happen to me and if people keep letting it go and not stand up for their rights these companies will keep pushing us around. There has been many items in Walmart that were raised in price 25 to 50 percent and blamed on tariffs which is a lie. Some of those items have been hanging on pegs for over 6 months and when they do restock that item it's the old stock. Nothing new. Walmart makes a lot of money. They need to do better.

They blocked my account and they refuse to refund my funds on my account. They are scammers. Don't ever use their shit cards. They will block your account and keep charging monthly fees until you have no money on your card. They are scamming their own customers.
