If I could give negative stars I would. My son sent me $2000 to help me with some bills that were urgent to pay that day. I tried using my Venmo card to get cash from atms and tried to just make purchases and every time it declined the transactions and said to contact my bank. Well I don't have a bank account and that's why I downloaded the Venmo app and order the card because I had been told that it was very simple, convenient, and fast. I called Venmo and went thru about eight different representatives that couldn't help me. They blamed it on their internal security system and said no one in the company could override their system in order for me to get my money. They even told me that we couldn't get the money back to my son (the sender) so that he could send it to me another way. They just had no solutions, no manager or supervisor that we could talk to in order to resolve this issue.
They basically told me to let the card and account rest, not to do anything with it for they couldn't tell me how long before they would release my money. I ended up sending the money back to my son and he sent it to me thru MoneyGram. My whole experience with this company was complete bs and I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone.
Oh they said that their system threw up a red flag for suspicious activity when all I did was try to use the card for a normal purchase and also try to get cash from an ATM. I believe these people are thieves and I will pass that information to anyone that I can in order to discourage them from trying to use them. They told me I didn't do anything wrong. No security issues with my account at all however I couldn't get my money and it was a cash to cash transaction so the funds should have been available immediately and it showed in the app that my money was there and available but I couldn't retrieve it nor pay my bills with the card and they couldn't tell me when I would be able to get my money. Now they are telling my son it could take 7-10 days before he could get his money back. Venmo is a scam and they are lining their pockets with our money people. So I wouldn't recommend anyone to use or keep using Venmo for any reason.

I purchased an expensive dress from a buyer. She said it's from a brand but after I paid it was from a different brand. I immediately called Venmo but they didn't help me and I was unable to cancel the transaction. I lost 750$ on Mother's Day. I will never transact through Venmo again.

I work hard for my money and I receive many of my payments from clients through Venmo. It hasn’t been an issue until recently when I tried to use my Venmo card to get cash out from an ATM. I went to 3 different MoneyPass ATMs where supposedly Venmo Card is accepted. I cannot get money OUT FROM ANY ATM, even my bank ATM where I would be charged a $3 fee. This is SO ridiculous because IT IS MY MONEY!!!! I need cash!! I’m just going to transfer my Venmo balance to my bank and keep my Venmo balance at $0.
Hopefully they don’t hold onto my money and not let me transfer it to my bank like I’ve been reading about in so many reviews. I always wondered how Venmo receives money and pays its employees, but now we all know that they hold onto people’s hard earned money and never release it. Essentially we are all being duped into the “ease” of sending money back and forth between people/clients when in reality we are just lining the pockets of the Venmo company.

Venmo has no protection whatsoever for the consumer. My account was hacked (through the app requesting verification and email change). Someone transferred $20 from me - not authorized and the fraud user had signed up that week. I didn’t get any notification except through email (that I don’t check daily). By the time I realized what had happened, the $20 was out of my linked bank account. I reported the fraud to Venmo at which they “reviewed” the account.
The fraud user name was then changed during the review (not suspicious at all!) and the fraud user feed had several other reports of fraud by other users to the listed transactions in the fraud user feed. Seemed like a no brainer for Venmo to see my little $20 was also fraud by this user. But NO! Venmo came back declining the claim. I rebutted with all the details of sign in (from Brooklyn- I’m in NJ), password change and $ transfer minutes later in a minute by minute timeline and provided my DL for identity verification. Venmo once again denied the fraud/hack and deactivated MY account for reasons they won’t disclose or give away their “protection methods for following user activity”. Now I’m the criminal apparently! And the fraud user account still active. Unbelievable. Venmo is the pits in my book.

They took $100.00 from me without permission and I'm not even able to get a hold of a representative to fix this. I want my money back asap or I will report you for stealing my money. This is exceptionally irresponsible from a a company. We don't even have a PayPal account nor did I give you any information to my bank account.

I have been using Venmo for years and I sent money to a wrong user so I contacted customer support. They were not helpful at all & should not get paid since they do not do any work other than saying, "We can't help you". There is a policy saying that they will send the person an email and get their permission but nope they don't even bother to send an email when it is their job. I'll start looking for other apps to use. Got my $200 stolen away from a thief company.

These people DO NOT CARE that I had my personal bank account frozen because of over a dozen overdrafts made by TOTALLY FRAUDULENT use of my debit card. I had possession of the card and no one had touched it or used it except myself until this business allowed some cyber criminal carte blanche use of it! My bank instructed me to call them. I did and was hung up on by an extremely rude representative who tried to blow me off. This is an evil organization. They receive 0 stars from me and I actually despise this rip off business!!!!

If the they offer a negative star that would be more fitting describe my experience with this Venmo debit card. All I did was transfer the remaining balance of an acct I had no debit card for. Venmo continues to decline my use of this card. It has caused absolute misery for me. If I was rich I wouldn't care, but I'm on a budget and depended on that money. I will never use that service ever again.

The employees who we were in contact with were very very very incompetent. So unhelpful. Someone hacked my fiancé’s account and sent themselves $1800. We realized this before PNC even saw this as pending in their systems. This payment was still “processing” on Venmo’s side which means they should have been able to cancel the payment before it went through to the bank. The employee refused to help us at all. No one should use Venmo. Horrible. So terribly protected.

I love this app for my lawn care business to receive payments when people are not home to pay. It faster and easier than receiving a check and with the new Venmo card I do not even have to transfer my Venmo balance to my bank to spend it. I can just use the Venmo card anywhere MasterCard is accepted and it deducts the purchase straight from my Venmo balance. The only thing that I think would bother some people is the social aspect of the default settings allowing everyone to see who you have paid and who has paid you, but this can easily be turned off in the privacy settings if you don't want this information public.
Though among friends to pay back for dinner or drinks it is kind of fun. Super great app. I don't understand the bad reviews at all. People just must not understand how to use it. Fast, free, easy, and fun. It is affiliated with PayPal and I trust that. Have not had a single issue myself. Hope some less grumpy people leave reviews instead of just a bunch of grumpy curmudgeons.

I somehow accidentally paid my cat sitter $2100 instead of $21 and could not cancel the transaction. She was afraid to send it back so she transferred it to her bank account and therefore Venmo could not reverse the transaction. It’s a one day in between each transaction for the banks so she cannot withdraw the money until it is in her account. In the meantime I am racking up overdraft fees for something that should take two seconds to transfer back-and-forth. Venmo needs to have a cancel transaction button. I’m deleting the app and never using it again. In addition through my research I found that Venmo is not FDIC insured So if you’re working with large amounts or make a mistake like I did your money is not guaranteed.

The stories that you read are TRUE! I received money on my cash app from a friend and transferred it to my Venmo since I had that card readily available. I attempted to get gas after work and the card declined even though funds were available. I changed my pin and attempted to try again but failed... I instantly withdrew my funds from my Venmo all to figure out it would never arrive. I called Venmo and they attempted to shift blame on my bank. They had no idea why it declined but stated “security reasons” ... like wtf. They also tried to get me off to the phone because they knew I wouldn’t see my money and they knew they were closing. I tried online chats and everything and all they can say is “call your bank”.
Note Venmo gave me 2 issues within minutes of each other but I’m the one that has my call my bank??? Wow. I told them I would complain because that’s really sad that they just steal money! I demanded my trans fee back and they put it into the very account that I tried to get money from before that I was clearly STILL waiting on. It’s very sad that I can’t access my own funds. I sent screenshots and all but nothing. It’s crazy that I can’t even get my money back...like wow... Reporting to the BBB NEXT!

After my initial issues and learning more I never had an issue since. The convenience of this system always leaves something at risk. Especially in the www world. Hackers will find ways around everything. IMHO it is MY CHOICE if I chose to have personal information in the www world. There is NO PROTECTION in the WWW world. PERIOD!

In 2 days I made 4 calls to Venmo regarding my new card. I was denied access to cash at 3 separate MoneyPass ATM's... and was forced to pay fees at a Dollar General using cash back. Customer service was nice but not helpful. They could only say it was the random security program denying me access to my $1900+ dollars!! "Sorry we can't help you. It is the security program." 3 times in a row is NOT RANDOM. IT IS CARD SPECIFIC!! And the "account specialists" would be the only ones able to help but they don't take calls... only emails!! Ridiculous!! We live in a day & age where you press a button and it is fixed!! So I was told, "At least your card is working at stores and your money is safe." Safe?? Really? From Me??
Today Day 2 was the icing on the cake. My account was frozen!!! I wake up to an email needing g my ID picture emailed to Account Security. Now the chip that worked yesterday in stores NOT ATM's is FROZEN!!! I was told to email my ID to these Magical Account specialists that have no help center... the that customer service can't even contact to try to help you... I picture them locked in a room and you have to know the special knock to speak to them!! Then in 2 to 3 days I should have my account UNFROZEN!!! 2 TO 3 DAYS!!! BUSINESS DAYS ON A ** THURSDAY??? Traveling with no gas, no food, and a worthless piece of Pink plastic!!! AND VENMO HAS ALL MY MONEY????
I have used PayPal business for YEARS!!! YEARS!! I expected MUCH BETTER!!! This is a horrible way to treat someone... leaving them stranded!! And to be told by customer service that they are sorry and feel bad but there is nothing they can do??? A company that provides a department with nothing to help customers??? I only recently decided to use Venmo because I was asked if I would take payments through Venmo. I encouraged friends and family to sign up... I am furious!! And embarrassed I told others to use your services and TRUST YOU!! This has left me stranded without money for 3 business days. It is Thursday!! So if I am lucky, Monday. 5 DAYS FROM NOW in the order the Secret Account Specialists received my email. I can transfer my money and NEVER USE THIS HORRIBLE APP AGAIN.
Please keep in mind this is not a bank... It is an app. And your money is SAFE in a bank and not held hostage to a company that has a security program that decides when and where you can use your money.... And NO PERSON to help you resolve ANY security issues. No thank you!! I would have given -10 stars if it was a choice. But with Venmo... they control EVERYTHING!!

Venmo is no good. Number one there is zero protection to your account, anyone with access to your Venmo app, or phone can go in, see your credit card you use, and send themselves money. Second, customer service is the worst, they are rude, and if you want help with fixing the issue, you must wait 5 to 7 business days for anyone to contact you. In my opinion you are putting yourself out there to be scammed. Please be very careful when choosing an app to send money. Venmo is a company you do not want to get into.

They had to wait 3 business days to see if client would send money back! Well you know that wasn’t going to happen unless is a very honest person. Kept calling back asking if they done anything to get money back, every customer service agent kept giving me a different story.
Finally they said there was nothing they could do. So I said to them, "You just going to let that person keep 1,800 Dollars?" Their answer, "Sorry". Thank God I got my bank involved. They tell you to email. This way they aren't able to discriminate against you. CSR and sups. Do nothing except put you on hold for hours and waste your time to be hung up on. Does not matter if you put in a change of address. You still will have it sent to an address you have not lived at for over 3 months. You will not get a new card in the time they say it will arrive. She told me to ask him to send it back. He checked his account and it wasn’t there. I knew it wouldn’t be because I didn’t send it, she told me that she would have to transfer me to the person that handle this.
I was transferred and the person I spoke with said that they would investigate it and would email me their decision. They email me a couple days later and told me the claim was Denied because they said I sent the money BUT I did not. I used Venmo to transfer $400 to the parents of my son’s friend in order for them to purchase his plane ticket at the same time they purchased theirs so that they could all sit together on the flight. This was for a Spring Break vacation to visit Havana. Venmo flagged my money transfer because the word “Havana” was used in the memo section. The entirety of my memo stated, “[my son’s name] - Havana - Spring Break”. Seems pretty self-explanatory to me. This was a domestic money transfer and last time I checked, it’s 100% legal to vacation in Havana. Not only was I met with the rudest customer service rep via phone, but I was told that I am strictly limited to email correspondence involving flagged matters.
Fast forward, I’m now on day 4 corresponding via email. There has been a different rep responding to each email and I am told that my money will not be released until I answer the 5 questions listed in the initial email response. These are the questions that Venmo needs to know in order to release MY MONEY: 1. Purpose of Travel. 2. A copy of your flight itinerary. 3. Your dates of travel to Cuba; and 4. The OFAC general or specific license authorizing the travel.
I have responded explaining to them that I do not have flight itinerary because THEY are holding my money that was to be used to purchase said flight! I also explained that my son does not have a passport because we needed to book this flight in order to be eligible for an expedited passport!!! Keep in mind, this trip is currently 3 weeks out! It was a last minute opportunity for him that has now turned into the biggest fiasco! I scheduled my passport appointment 2 weeks in advance and must have flight itinerary in order to qualify for a 10 day expedite! If I had an extra $400 laying around then maybe this wouldn’t be such a huge ordeal, but I don’t!
I’m on day 2 with zero email response to my last reply. I have sent follow up emails to check-in and still nothing! I am SO upset. This is absolutely dead wrong! The lady on the phone tried to tell me that Venmo is a Federal banking agency and they take these matters seriously. Oh really? Well if my bank suspects fraud or anything of the such, I have a department I can call to have this type of thing sorted out immediately! Venmo is holding my money hostage all the while collecting interest while I’m left completely effed.
I have a huge issue with the information they are requesting as well. I’m not going through customs! I’m transferring a measly 400 to my neighbor for a spring break vacation that doesn’t concern anybody! What are they, the FBI? I will never be using Venmo again. And from what I have read on this forum, people wait up to at least a month for these matters to be resolved. There needs to be a class action suit against Venmo!

After my bank did their investigation they agreed that charges were fraudulent. Venmo, however, said they were not. They said that the charges are accurate and nobody access to my account. I asked as to how they came to that conclusion when my bank did not. They said that the charges were off of my iPhone (here's the kicker, I have an Android phone). So since it was on the weekend I use their chat with us option and end up having to talk to 3 people. The second one required me to take a picture of my bank statement showing the charges, my name, the last four of my debit card number and the bank name. My bank does not list all that information on the same page, basically he told me I had to have the information in that specific format or he couldn't help me. So what? I need to call a big bank corporation and have them change the format of their website so this guy can be appeased?
Anyhow I figure out how to get all that info by opening the bank thing in 2 browsers and then he tells me he can't help me and I have to hold for another department. SO I hold for about 10 minutes with no one coming on and the chat auto closes. I reopen the chat get a different guy then have to reexplain and he tells me my money went into limbo and I will get my money back in 5 business days. So the next day I get an email from Venmo saying they were unable to resolve my issue and I had to wait another 2 to 3 business days just to talk to another person. Long story short it's 5 days later no email no money no help and they seem to think it's okay. As the centuries-old Latin adage says, Caveat Emptor. Let the buyer beware. DO NOT USE VENMO, EVER. Ever. Stand on the shoulders of my mistake and don't even get involved with them. SAVE YOURSELF the time, money, and aggravation. This company, and their service (if it can even be called that), is so riddled with problems that I can scarcely begin to fit them into this review. There are actually a ton of red flags that Venmo is doing shady business or, for one reason or another, trying to pull the rug out from under the very customers they claim to serve.
But instead of typing here an exhaustive list of all the hurdles I've been through with them (and to be clear, I STILL have not gotten my money, which was payment for editing a book prior to publishing), I'll just describe the main one to you: VENMO REQUIRES THAT YOU EMAIL THEM A COPY OF YOUR PHOTO I.D. BEFORE THEY WILL EVEN <> YOUR ACCOUNT, ISSUE, OR PROBLEM. Yes, you read that correctly. Unless you take a digital picture of your driver's license or passport and email it to them, they refuse to discuss anything about your issue with you...even if that issue is, you've been paid using Venmo and you can't seem to get your money.
I am not one for conspiracy theories. But THIS — this, my friends — is one of the shadiest things I've ever encountered in business. Why the ** would they EVER need your photo ID. Think about it: if this was standard protocol for lots of reputable companies out there, that would be one thing. Say, for instance, Apple, Microsoft, Cox, Google, Amazon, etc etc etc. But it ISN'T!!! Never in my life, even dealing with tech startups and all kinds of different companies in New York City, have I ever been asked over the phone in customer support to send them a copy of my photo ID. This is a seriously suspicious practice, especially with the rise of facial recognition software out there.
The lady on the phone with me at Venmo kept insisting, redundantly, that it was to "verify" my "email address" and that the name I'm giving her "over the phone is in fact the name on the account." But as you, reader, probably know, they can absolutely achieve that verification through other avenues. Namely, emailing me some kind of arbitrary code, say, six digits, and then when I open up my email, simply having me READ that verbally over the phone to her. There is unquestionably no reason that Venmo needs my photo ID, nor does it assist them in verifying ANYTHING about my account. Note that your ID isn't required to sign UP for Venmo, so why should it be required to get your money??? Beware. Truly.

I called Venmo and asked them if the transaction I was about to enter into was safe. Someone was to send me money in the amount of 1900.00. The customer services representative assured me that the transaction was fine and that I would receive the payment, if there was anything wrong then that would be between the person sending me the money and their bank.
Well, I received an email from an account specialist who asked me for a picture of my driver's license. Did that. Then they asked me for a recent bank statement. Did that too. Then they asked if I could contact the person that sent me the money because they have been trying to get into contact with him. WHAT? I called and did my due diligence to make sure there were not going to be any problems. A few days later the account specialist said that my account has been suspended and that Venmo would be taking the funds. I asked why that original recorded phone call wasn't being taken into account. I still have not received an answer to that question. Worst company ever. I beg you do not use this app.

I cancelled immediately, and received an email from Venmo saying my transaction was cancelled and they were issuing me a refund. Let's just say it is 10 days later and they have not refunded me my money. They told me it would only take 1-5 business days. They kept giving me the run around saying it was my bank, but it turned out to be them. Then they claimed they issued the refund back, but the reversal process failed... HOW???!!! HOW DID YOU FAIL TO SEND ME MY REFUND!! Now they're trying to say they escalated this to their billing team (whom you can't call nor chat with!) and they will contact me in another 3-5 business days via email!! Keep in mind that Venmo has a zero consumer protection policy. You have no protection from being defrauded by the seller who may never send the product. I purchased something via Venmo and the seller sold it to someone else, saying Venmo never moved the money to her account. When I tried to address it with Venmo, they read protocol off a script and refused to confirm or deny that the funds were received by the seller. There was no denial that they pulled my money from my account. They said that the only way that the transaction could be reversed was by the seller, who can't reverse it because her account says it never went through.
When I informed them that I would have to file a complaint with my credit card to contest the charge, they threatened that even if the Credit Card company reversed the payment, Venmo would hold me responsible and report it adversely on my credit record. They said I should have read the infinitely long tiny print agreement. BUYER BEWARE!!!

I normally use ApplePay for any money transfers I would make to friends and family. However, in a recent transaction I downloaded the Venmo app due to money being sent to me from a friend who uses the app. After a fairly painless registration and having to enter a personal credit card for any transactions that I do not have enough Venmo funds for. This quickly turned into a nightmare.
The drama started the first week of February when my friend sent me money through the Venmo app. I received the money in my account immediately and thought, wow, that was easy. Well, then it got interesting. You have two options in using your funds. 1) You can transfer the amount directly into your bank account after giving bank account information or 2) Use a retail site that accepts Venmo. I did not want my bank information to be revealed and thought it was the best and safest decision. So, started to research what retailers I could visit in person to use my funds. Come to find out that you are either extremely limited or cannot use the funds to pay for a service or product in person. Ok, so now what? I looked further and found out I could use the funds through the Venmo app with a retailer that Venmo has partnered with.
I didn’t find any retailers that I would use myself, but did find Urban Outfitters to purchase for my kids. So, I proceeded to make an online purchase giving me the option to pay using my Venmo funds. Again, you have to go through the Venmo app to find these retailers whom you can purchase with using your Venmo funds. I made it all the way through the transaction, paid using my Venmo funds and thought that was it. To my surprise, I received a prompt telling me that I encountered a problem. Thought that was weird as I did everything correctly. I didn’t receive any confirmation of my purchase with Urban Outfitters so I called their customer service line. They were very helpful and I was informed that there were no pending transactions.
I was a little disappointed as the purchase was for clothing to gift one of my kids for their birthday. I then went back to my Venmo app and noticed that there was a pending charge to be sent to Urban Outfitters. This was strange as UO just told me that there were no completed or pending transactions. I thought, maybe it takes a day or two so I patiently waited for my Venmo account to be updated with no pending transactions since UO already informed me that they did not have an order for me.
After using my patience I decided to contact them using their online chat option through their app. I was told that a $ amount was pending and going to be deducted from my personal credit card due to not having enough money to cover the entire transaction amount...what?! Granted I did not have enough to cover the entire amount, but was only about $17 over. So, my thought was that the funds from my Venmo account would be used first to pay for my so called transaction and then $ that I go over would be charged to my credit card. Wouldn’t that make sense? Apparently this was not the case.
Basically you have to make a transaction for exactly the amount you have in the Venmo acct or go under, leaving some funds remaining in your acct. It would be a never ending attempt to try and use up what I have in my Venmo acct. So frustrating. At that point I decided to transfer the funds to my bank acct. Something I did not want to do due to security reasons, but at this point I was really fed up.
It took a few business days for the money to appear in my bank. Once received I quickly deleted my bank account information and personal credit card info from the Venmo app. I tried to then close my Venmo acct, but was told that I still had a pending transaction. Yes, this was the transaction that never went through to UO, yet Venmo still had it as a pending transaction. I was told that this transaction could take 12 full calendar days to finalize or void and that I should be cleared to close my account next week. What a stressful experience. Note to self...do not EVER use Venmo again. My experience may be out of the norm and others may be extremely satisfied with their experience. This was just what I am going through and thought it would be helpful to others.

My father is 83 and has had a bank account with a credit union for some years. He does not have a debit card for this account because this CU says he is not credit worthy since his wife left him and messed up his credit..now he cannot open another bank account because of that mess..that is a whole different story in itself. Anyway, The nearest branch of this CU is over 4 hours away, they do not have this CU in our state and makes it difficult to get any money at all. So we opened up a Venmo account for him and my husband and myself. After a few days, we were able to verify his checking account. He sent my husband money, so he could have some cash and also to get his personal stuff and so on.
Well, the money went through, though it took 4 days. Then, he sent money again, this time so we could try and get him a prepaid card so we would not have to deal with a middle man... well Venmo decided to Freeze my husbands account. No explanation at all, just froze it. They asked for a copy of his ID, sent it. 36 hours later, they asked for his bank statements... no reason why. Sent that. Then another 48 hours later, they said it was not good enough because they wanted PROOF that my husbands debit was his saying they needed to SEE PURCHASES WITH THE DEBIT CARD... made no sense. So we sent another copy of the bank statement, no word yet, but my husband's account has a temporary freeze on it and they said they cannot delete it.
In the meantime, Venmo decided to PERMANENTLY DEACTIVATE my dad's account. So we call, no reasons were given. I mean NO REASON. Talk to a specialist they said. We called and called and still no one will tell us WHY. We emailed 15 times.....yes 15. Still no answer as to WHY. My dad has a little over $700 in his Venmo account. Now we cannot even send it back to his CU because the account has been permanently deactivated... But this morning, BAILEY said... "Your funds in your account are being held for review which can take up to 180 days. IF we DEEM the funds suitable for release, we will contact you with the next steps."
SERIOUSLY??? IF they deem suitable? WTF does that mean? Next steps? He is 83 years old... Lord forbid if something happens to him in the next 6 months. Then what? They took a few days to transfer the money and now they are not going to give it back??? First it may take 6 months and then it's up to them to give BACK my dads money? How is this even legal? I am calling an attorney today. I am so angry. I honestly do not know how they are getting away with this... This company needs to be shut down.

Not only was connecting the account difficult since I wasn't with one of their pre-determined banks of choice, but my account was marked "invalid" after Venmo authorized a payment that pulled directly from my account rather than the amount I had placed on my Venmo balance. My bank allows a certain number of pulls from the account each month, and I had plenty of money on my balance for the meal I was Venmoing for. But for some reason it pulled from the account rather than that balance. Not only did this cause frustration dealing with my bank, but once it invalidated my account, customer service refused to help re-validate it.
I was transferred to multiple departments, and finally to a supervisor. The supervisor made it clear they *could* re-validate accounts, and yet refused to respond as to why it did not pull from my balance and refused to re-validate the account. It was a completely asinine conversation and a waste of multiple hours of my time. I repeat, Do Not Use Venmo. It's a terrible service and I refuse to be treated this way as a customer.

To pay my gardener, for example, I have to search for him each time and since his "identity" is a number attached to his name Venmo assigned and not identified by his phone number or email, I always have to find my notation of his "identity." One would think it would be possible to click on a link in our history of transactions to make repeat payments. The issue I always have with Venmo is identifying the right person to pay. Older people often don't add a photo and if they do, the small photo on Venmo isn't always clear. So I have to text my friend to ask his/her Venmo identity. Having said this, I always find the transfer of funds quite quick, but "Who ya gonna call if a transaction goes haywire?" I plan to get my gardener and others set up on Zelle. It's happened to us all. Phone in pocket, phone unlocks, phone buttons mash themselves and take you on a magical, unknown at the time, super crazy and sometimes improbable ride to wherever chance prefers to go. There are 3 ways to correct any issues therein, an apology, a call, or a cancel button push. Chances are these 3 solutions will correct any and all aspects of this cellular phone phenomenon because all phones are designed this way and 99.999999% is simply just how it works. This is not the category of Venmo as per design it would seem after review of any search engines pull up with any combination of the words "issues", "theft", "missing money", or "problems with" and the word "Venmo".
My story (all of my tale of events are backed up with daily account screenshots of both Venmo and bank accounts) is this in simple form; Phone in pocket while working, phone does phone acid and starts to trip out pressing random buttons, feel phone vibrate, phone opened Venmo on 01/08/2019, a request transfer of $110.00 from my bank account to my Venmo account via Venmo app. No cancel requests button, no ability to cancel with calling reps of Venmo as per what they convey as excuses, no help with emailing Venmo or chatting on their website with them as no one ever responds aside of auto responses of excuses for no human assistance, bank account shows pending withdraw.
Call to Venmo suggest one and only solution "wait for withdraw to finalize out bank" which then will be available instantly on Venmo account then and instantly deposit back into bank account before the next day's daily cycle of updating acccount information, (just to be clear, their idea to rectify situation is to now stay on guard and do the work for them that they ought be doing seeings how I pay them money for a service, a service that otherwise my bank I know have learned would transfer for free, all though not with the ease I pay transfer percentages to some apps), sometime between 01/10/2019 and 01/11/2019 the bank finalizes transfer (btw $35 stop payment fee with bank of which I only have a poor person balance of about $85.00 with no income expected within the next 10-14 days and rent already 3 weeks late due to lack of work at job, crappy after holiday hours).
I awake to overdraft bank account and OD fee meaning Venmo received full $110.00, it's now 01/13/2019 and my Venmo account still reads $0.00 balance, I've still received no help or returns or OD fee repayments from Venmo. They are completely avoiding me, refusing to answer emails with anything other than an automated questionnaire to rate Venmo's service in regards to finding a solution to my query??? Venmo are you serious???
Venmo's service has caused a string of horrible events for me because if this. Bank account cut off. Work for out of town peoples who paid me through cash apps that instantly deposit funds to my account that doesn't exist anymore, can't open another account cause checks system denies me with all banks. $58 balance of OD and OD fees is all I owe bank, but I have no cash cause clients prefer paper trail as per IRS paperwork. Tomorow I'm evicted for nonpayment of rent even though I luckily in a sense have all money on app I cannot withdraw. Haven't eaten in about 2 1/2 almost 3 days now aside 1 banana and 1/2 candy bar (no family left financially able to assist).
This is how a series of events can play out when trust is instilled into a company along with payment for services and only trust shown was when I did as I was instructed and repeated service fees have been subtracted from my funds. Since it would seem it's ok for you to service charge me 1% to get my own money in an instant because you have to do whatever it is you do to get the funds. To me, it would seem only fair that be able to charge you for making my life this all around completely and utterly scattered in disarray, emotionally distressed, all while financially destitute, and all while losing most belongings due now being shelter deprived.
This is how Venmo seemingly based on actions shows appreciation to those who provide a percentage based income per every transaction made as payment for service, And all done for Venmo to never return anything remotely helpful. ** if someone could help me out with a solution a person in my shoes could do? (Or a way to make life a bit better for a South Mississippi local to not add to the homeless factor of my area which is great in quantity and low on solutions.) This is a very scary path I've been set on. Hey Venmo = idea for app update, pending transaction cancel button, great idea, literally would not cost a thing financially to the business. And would subtract client and company headaches from the equation.

When we log in to our Venmo account, we only see the transactions of the money we have shared with other people. We never see the history of the transactions that would go between our Venmo account and our Bank account. We never know how many transfers we had from our Venmo account to our bank account. Today, for example, I was so lucky to accidentally find out that I transferred $400 from my Venmo to my Bank Account on the 4th of this month, and it's not there in my bank account!!! Venmo leaves no tracking history to these outgoing transactions. I'm not even able to see what date I made that transaction. Everything is concealed and the clients may not even remember that they transferred these funds, especially when they transfer too many transactions. So, if Venmo fails to transfer the funds to your bank account, just like they did with me, you will never notice.
This is a very risky and shady design. Venmo needs to be transparent with their clients and give them access to their out of Venmo transactions, much like what PayPal does. PayPal is very transparent. They never surreptitiously failed to transfer money. Everything is accounted for in PayPal. Now, where is the $400 that I tried to transfer to my bank account on the fourth? (I can't even remember the date because Venmo conceals all these out of Venmo transactions?!!). Venmo needs to be transparent and accountable for everything. Where is the $400? I transferred one $400 and I see that it hit my bank account on the third, but then I transferred another $400 the other day. Where is it?
The only way I have to find out about the out of Venmo transactions is to go to my bank account and see if funds have arrived. Too complicated. There's no chart for the outgoing transactions from Venmo to your bank account. Too shady. The only reason I use Venmo service is that all my clients want to use Venmo. I'm trying to persuade them to use PayPal. I will teach them how to use it. In my case, there's a limit on how much I can transfer to my bank account. With PayPal, there's no limit. I don't understand why my clients even use your service despite all these restrictions and shortenings. Now, where is my $400?

I called them and all they said is that my account will remain frozen until I pay them. I mean who does that??? Why would they send money to someone I don't even know and after I told them not to sent it?? I filed the police report. Let them deal with Venmo, I am out. There is no way I send them $500.00. I was introduced to Venmo as my son worked for someone who wanted to pay through Venmo. Not a problem, I got this! NOT! I accidentally added a closed account and my transfer was denied, I was notified and corrected it IMMEDIATELY. Venmo then made 2 deposits and 2 withdrawals, 1 for $ .08 and another for $ .28. It worked... NOT SO FAST... I then waited patiently for over a week and still no transfer. I checked the Venmo account and no money in the account and it’s not in my bank. 23 emails and I can’t tell you how many phone calls between Venmo and my Financial Institution I had... Here we are over 2 weeks later still working on it... One Customer Service Rep from Venmo said at one time he had 5... Count ‘em FIVE Supervisors looking into this and they could not figure it out!
I called my bank at Venmo’s request and got a trace number for which I then called Venmo back, AGAIN, and provided this to them. NOW, they are telling me they can’t locate the funds and will need A LETTER FROM MY BANK validating that my bank returned the funds. Good Lord! Help me... PLEASE! I transferred the money owed my son from MY MONEY and have since written VENMO OFF FOR GOOD! DONE, FINISHED, THAT’S IT! I’ve got WAY MORE than $120 bucks (the amount I personally paid my son from MY MONEY) of time and energy invested in this while Venmo keeps the money owed my son. They told me that they removed the card from the account and that I would now be able to link the card to my account. This company is absolutely TERRIBLE!! No one is able to assist when I call customer service (I've called 3 times) and apparently they only handle real issues (like taking/holding people's money for no good reason) by email, such cowards! I keep getting automated messages by email, then finally some person named Perry O responded saying he is "assisting" with my case (which I still have no idea what the case actually is) only to ask me to send personal information.
I've since confirmed my identity by sending my ID, then also a copy of my bank statement (3 days ago) confirming that I own the bank account. And STILL I HAVE NOT GOT MY MONEY! Only another message asking for yet more documentation, and the NERVE to send me a message asking about my feedback on the service I'm receiving!! LIKE WHAT??
I STILL don't have my money!! Venmo hasn't told me why there is a problem and why they keep asking me for more personal information after I've already supplied them with more than enough. At the request of my landlord I made a Venmo account to pay my rent. I paid security deposit, then a month later when I sent the rent payment, Venmo froze my account *after* they took the money from my bank. They said it was due to a security concern. Again, my bank has *already released* the payment. Venmo has my money. There is no security issue. And Venmo froze my landlord's account too. I had to send a photo of my driver's license and a bank statement to Venmo, and they emailed me that they will resolve the situation in 10 days. Nonsense. The payment went through; there shouldn't be anything to resolve! Thanks to Venmo, I now have to come up with a second rent payment, because my rent is still due. I'm just hoping they release my money in 10 days. Do NOT use Venmo!

They have no interest in solving problems. The default for them is to do nothing and keep the money. It is awful. It is NOT quick and easy - nor risk free. Account frozen without explanation or chance for recourse. Venmo is ridiculous. First they freeze accounts stating it has been "suspended due to recent activity that appears to be a violation of our User Agreement" and write "if you would like to reactivate your account, please reply to this email with a picture of your unexpired US government issued photo identification to begin the review".
However, after sending the requested information, they then state "Your account was recently assessed for high risk activity and was determined to have significant potential for creating loss to Venmo. Due to the level of risk associated with your account, we're unfortunately unable to unfreeze your account for continued use." And refuse to elaborate any further. With such serious accusations, consumers obviously require an explanation of what it was that triggered the account being frozen, and as in my case, to contest it as the accusations are, quite frankly, ridiculous and downright offensive.

It's design, ultimately, is for use with other Venmo users, which is limiting. That is compounded by the limited number of financial institutions you can even link. So in other words, if Venmo doesn't play nice with the other money kids on the block - they just don't let you link to them and your money is held in Venmo purgatory. Ironically, PayPal (which in of itself is a racketeer) owns Venmo but Venmo cash can't be transferred to your PayPal account. Wow, just wow. Why have a company where you can send money to and from your family in an emergency situation and then they freeze your account and you can't access it AND you can't get your "account specialist" to respond to you. Customer Service told me just now that I will just have to wait for them to email me and my "Account Specialist" has other customers. Are you kidding!?!? So I created an account with Venmo. He transferred money to me. When I went to transfer to my bank via my debit card, the process was declined. No explanation was given. So, I contacted "customer service"; I can't really say they are deserving of that name as they are not equipped to actually provide any service. They were able to "confirm" that my transfer was declined. I already knew that and was why I was contacting them. Long story short, they were not able to tell me why. Now would they transfer me to anyone who could. Basically spend half an hour with them to confirm my transfer was not completed.
When I asked if there was a number I could call, they said yes but they close at 3:00 CST. I am in PST so 3:00 pm and they are closed??? Really?? Venmo calls this customer service?? Then I was told only the "review department" could tell me why. I asked, "Can you transfer me to them" and was told no. At this point, I am waiting for the mystery department to tell me why they are incapable to transferring my funds when everyone else seems to have no problem. No indication of when this might be. On the third business day, they sent me this email: "Your Venmo account has been suspended due to recent activity that appears to be a violation of our User Agreement. If you would like to reactivate your account, please reply to this email with a picture of your unexpired US government-issued photo identification to begin the review. Acceptable forms of ID include a driver’s license, state ID card, passport, and green card. The name on your photo ID should match the name registered to your Venmo account. We require this information to ensure you are the legal account holder."
I sent them a picture of my ID. On the fourth business day, Venmo sent me the following email: "Thank you for reaching out. While we encourage the use of Venmo, we must ensure all users abide by our User Agreement. After reviewing your inquiries and account activity, we have found that your actions and activity have been in violation of this agreement. As a result, your account has been permanently deactivated and we regret to inform you that we can no longer offer you the Venmo service.

I am brand new to using Venmo. I just installed the app on my phone last week and used it for the first time on 2/10/18. I was trying to come up with a easy solution for my tenant to pay me rent and after researching apps on Google I chose Venmo because it appeared to be the simplest to use and it's FREE. My tenant installed the app on her phone Saturday and sent me the rent money. I immediately received notification via both email and the app. I clicked the "Accept" button to retrieve the money and it instantly went into my Venmo account. I was so excited because I thought I had finally found a solution to getting the rent money. As soon as I clicked "Transfer to Bank" all my happiness went away and that's when everything went downhill.
After selecting "Transfer to Bank" I received a confirmation that the money would be transferred and to expect the deposit on 2/13/18. The morning of 2/13/18 I checked my bank account and the money was not there. It was very early in the morning, so I decided to check it later in the day. Later that morning when I got to work I received an email from Venmo stating my account has been frozen. I'm thinking WTF?!?
So, the first thing I did was Google Venmo's customer service and found the phone #. The rep I spoke to was of no help at all. He couldn't tell me anything and kept saying please follow the instructions in the email. He said it came from the Account Specialist Department and they only answer via email. They don't take calls. I was livid!! So, I hung up with Venmo customer service and followed the instructions in the email. It told me to send an unexpired photo ID. I attached a scan of my driver's license in reply to the email and then waited.
While waiting I read their User Agreement. It states you have to log in from a PC and do a Verification process by entering your date of birth, zip code and last 4 of your SSN. I logged in from my work computer and a Verification window popped up. I entered all the info it asked for and submitted it. During that time I'm still waiting to hear back from Venmo. About 2 hours later I log in again from my work PC and a green window pops up stating "Your account is reactivated". I got excited thinking I would finally get my funds transferred to my bank, but... My excitement was short-lived.
About 2 hours later after still not hearing back from Venmo I contact customer service again. I spoke to Valencia. She explains that my account is still frozen and the only time an account is reactivated is if the account has a balance (which I didn't), so she found that odd and I was, once again, disappointed to find out my account is still frozen. I told her I sent my driver's license and did the verification, so what's the hold up? She put me on hold and told me she found my email with my scanned driver's license and told me they wouldn't accept that. It has to be an actual picture of my driver's license (not a scanned copy). She told me to take a pic of my license with my phone and email it to Venmo. You would think I was applying for a car loan!! This is ridiculous!! But I went ahead and did it.
This morning when I got to work I was determined to make someone give me answers. I chatted with Venmo through the app and the rep told me it's a "simple verification process for new users" and that I should expect a resolution within 3-4 business days. Thank God, I already had enough money in my bank account to cover the mortgage payment or I would've been SOL depending on Venmo to transfer the money into my bank account. As a first time user I will tell you to beware of using this app. It may be simple if you're just sending a couple dollars to people to pay for things, but don't think about using this app for large transactions or you will find yourself wondering if you'll ever see your money.
I wish I had found this website and read all the bad reviews prior to using the app. I could have saved myself from the frustration of dealing with such an incompetent company that doesn't puts zero emphasis in providing good customer service. This app is owned by PayPal and I find it extremely hard to believe that a billion dollar company like that would develop an app with so much inconsistency in their level of service. I hope I get my money or at least I hope they send it back to my tenant so she can pay me by check. I would hate to have to write this loss off her rent, because I can't afford it. Venmo needs to step up and do better. This is UNACCEPTABLE!!!

I never had used, signed up for or even heard of Venmo when I started getting e-mails from them about payments sent and received. They were for amounts under $10.00. I also received e-mails people were friending me. I tried to sign on and of course that did not work. I tried to reset my password and the e-mail address I was receiving e-mails at was not found. It looks like they found my e-mail address somewhere and started sending me the fake e-mails to get me to sign up. The e-mail address is actually my wife's. She is on a lot of job boards looking for work and that is probably where they got it from. It says it is a part of PayPal but it looks pretty scammy to me.

I had used Venmo twice before and didn’t have any trouble. However, In December my ex-husband, whom I’m friends with, asked me to get him a cashiers check for his rent and that he would pay me back the next day. I recommended he use Venmo. He created an account and sent me the money within 24 hours. Venmo promptly sent me an email saying my account was frozen and they requested a copy of my drivers license. I sent them a copy. They then emailed me, questioning my relationship with the payee. I told them he was my ex husband. I even called Venmo and asked what the problem was. Of course their customer service department said they had no idea what the hold up was and that it would be best if I got the money from my ex husband directly because they couldn’t guarantee that they would unfreeze my account.
Not one person could give me an explanation as to why. I even emailed Venmo a picture of the cashiers check that was made out to the apartment complex for the same amount my ex paid me back. Both of our names (we even share the same last name) were on the cashiers check. They then sent me an email stating they were canceling my account without any explanation. Not one person from Venmo could tell me why. Isn’t that what Venmo is for? To transfer money?! They treated me like a criminal. I feel that they were profiling me because a man paid me over $1000. I emailed them and told them I was going to file a complaint. They never reached out to me, so on top of falsely profiling me, they also have poor customer service. Shame on you Venmo.

I had heard a few stories about Venmo being scammy or unsafe, but after doing some research, I decided to check it out anyway since I was only going to be using it between friends and for small amounts here and there. Just for when I didn't have cash on me. Had it for a few months... and then I recently had my Venmo account suspended and was notified via e-mail asking for my I.D. (as they had SOMEHOW found something that they thought "may have violated their terms"). So I read through their terms... thoroughly. I read through the entire "terms and conditions" page. Not a single violation. So I responded with my I.D. and told them that the review was unnecessary as no terms had been violated. Their only response was "your account has now been frozen". WHAT??? Absolutely infuriating!!! I can't even delete that account now because it has been FROZEN for NO reason and will not allow me to delete.
I tried to contact customer service, but *surprise* no answer from ANY human customer service representative. It has been 2 weeks and I still haven't heard back. But they were quick to respond when I explained that my account had not violated any terms or conditions. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. They scam, they steal information, and they freeze accounts for no reason at all.

This is unacceptable. I only just set up a Venmo account this morning and only for the sole purpose of purchasing some used appliances from a Facebook friend. The system immediately had issues processing my payment using a debit card that showed as verified. I called and was assured the issue would be resolved within 24 hours. Instead Venmo has frozen my account for violating terms of service? What exactly did I violate?! And no I will not be providing my photo ID AND bank statement AND debit card statement because it is a violation of my privacy. Besides which, as I stated, I only set up this account to process this payment.
Turn around time for Venmo to process my documents and resolve something that they screwed up in the first place then takes two days?! Unacceptable! I can drive to my friends house and hand him the money in PERSON in CASH in two hours. How exactly are they at all customer service oriented? Venmo is supposed to be a platform for the FAST RELIABLE transfer of funds between friends. They are neither fast or reliable and their system has managed to cost me an entire wasted day. I will be calling in the morning to dissolve my account and will stick to doing things the old fashioned way, it may not be the fastest way but it's definitely the most reliable and at least I'll have the peace of mind knowing the transaction was processed correctly and no one will be stealing my identity and poking their nose into my business where it doesn't belong. I wanted to buy a refrigerator, I shouldn't have to provide Venmo my life story in order to do that!

A patron or vendor of VENMO has somehow managed to steal our credit card information while vacationing in Apopka, Fl. There are only a few places that our card was in the hands of someone else. Cheddar's in Daytona and we bought auto fuel at a Chevron station in Altamonte. The thieves emptied our checking account causing the legitimate purchases to bounce/overdraft. When I contacted our credit union they began working on it but gave me the customer service # for VENMO. A company we had never heard of.
When I contacted VENMO, they refused to tell me who processed the 2 payments or where the culprits were located, saying "they need to legally protect their client." The Sheriff's department from Altamonte informed us this is a common crime due to the high rate of tourism. In my personal opinion, VENMO's reluctance to provide the victim with information that would prevent them from being re-victimized is similar to money laundering because they are protecting the thieves. I'm hoping the FTC will become involved with this company to protect consumers.

Yesterday, October 11th, 2107, I attempted to pay Justin ** $550 for rent due. The Justin ** I paid was the incorrect Justin **. The incorrect, and honest, Justin noticed the mistake and returned my money. After having the money returned to my Venmo account and then left on my Venmo as $550, I paid the correct Justin ** $550. Venmo took this money out of my bank account instead of using the money I already had in my Venmo account which at that moment was $520 (I had just completed another payment for my cell phone bill, which, WAS taken out of my Venmo account). Why did that money, $520, not get used first and then the remainder, $30, pulled from my personal bank?
I woke up this morning to find out, embarrassingly, that my ATM card was unusable and that I have no money in my bank account. I am now left without money. I could not order coffee, breakfast, or lunch today, so now I sit at work for 10 hours with no food or coffee. I, also, cannot put gas in my truck when I leave today, buy cigarettes, go to the movies tonight with my friends after work, go out to eat with them after... or do anything because, against all common sense and logic, your system withdrew more money than it needed to complete a transfer. I not only lost money, got bank fees, and left helpless but also the ability to in essence do anything for the next 24 hours! There is no reason to request money from a personal bank account when the funds are readily available in your own system already. They should have been pulled from Venmo's account FIRST.
The only logical explanation is that this is a systematic way to artificially inflate your bank balance every 24-hour cycle and thus allow you to gain potentially more interest. I understand that keeping that $520 on your balance sheet for another night doesn't create a huge return by itself but when you couple it with the fact that Justin ** has $550 in his Venmo account (that MUST sit there for 24 hours) as well, you have, for all intents, doubled the amount of money on your balance sheet and increase your own bottom line more. If this practice of taking money unnecessarily from your customer's bank accounts when it is already in their Venmo accounts is a truly a systematic and widespread issue then it is a HUGE deal. (One simple Google search shows me that I am not the first one to notice or take offense to this 'hostage-holding' approach to money transfer.)
This is not an accident or a setting that I should set, your system should work in a clear manner and not have any inherent loopholes and grey areas like this. I know you will say you took it out of my bank because there wasn't enough to cover the full amount but that excuse is paper thin and still makes no sense. Why was the money NOT taken from Venmo first?... Any of it? I am very upset about this, I use your services very frequently but will no longer be using it (or PayPal) after what happened yesterday and will request all my clients, friends, and whoever will listen to switch to Google Wallet or Square Cash.

Then when you complain it takes days to fix this. When you call they don't help. You have to wait in a queue. Easier to write checks. Why does the app take your funds and then decide to freeze your account? Not to help the customer. Very frustrating.

We call BoA but they tell us they can't do a chargeback until charge completes because it's only processing. We call back to Venmo next morning about the 1950 since it was 90% of our account. They say both our account and the theirs are frozen until we verify ID. We again refuse because currently payment would be on hold and we want our money back not to complete charge. Again they refuse to refund and tell us to file a chargeback. But agree the payment is on hold so the thief did not get money.
Now day 3 rolls around and the charge clears out BOA. We call to make claim Saturday but they say 10 business days and could take up to 90 for final decision. Monday is a holiday so 5 days have passed without any help. I complain rarely but this seems like Venmo is attempting to steal the money. We refused uploading ID because a chargeback should not be needed. Venmo flagged it for fraud and we reported it. No payout has been made. So no loss to Venmo, so why would they need a bank claim unless they were trying to keep money that is not theirs.
Would rate them at 0 if it were an option. PayPal would never hold a flagged transaction and refuse us to refund. Venmo may be owned but has already been pilot under FTC investigation for deceptive and unfair practice. Perhaps not a complete scam company as I have used it a dozen times but for sure shady and they appear to be part of this theft or at least be planning to cash out on insurance claim or something argue the claim, keep our money and screw us out all our bank account.

I have never used asked for customer service, since the app is super easy to navigate, but I am sure it is fantastic, based on how amazing the app is.

Various options are available to use where there is at least one option for every situation that a person could possibly be in and usually 2-3 options for the most common financial situation. I'm not too familiar with the "extra" services that are offered. I never have looked into them because I never needed any other services more than what was readily available. I put satisfied because I'm not sure of the fees. I was never charged fees. The free service that I used I was happy with the fees obviously since there weren't any. I never needed to contact the customer service department so I can't comment or rate their service properly.

I always transfers to my bank acct or my kids. It is an easy set up and simple to use. Just makes it easier to pay or get paid right at home right to your acct. Click that you want to get your money from it and then you choose where you would like it to go and it is in your bank by next day. I use it to transfer money to my kids and when they pay some back to go back in acct for them to use for further dates. It is simple to use right to your bank. I have had not any extra fees like Western Union and MoneyGram does. You get or send the exact amount that is needed. So it cost less in the long run. I have not personally had to call customer service for anything at all. We have never had any issues that requires to speak to anyone and I am so glad for that.

Was very easy to use and very quick to send and receive money. Locations were convenient and fees were very fair compared to other companies fees. There were many different extra services to choose from although I did not choose any on this occasion as there were none that fit my needs. The additional fees and services seemed fair, although I did not add on any extra services at the time of my transaction. The options were wide and the fees very reasonable. I did not have a whole lot of interaction with the customer service staff but the interactions I did have were pleasant enough and I did not have any issues.

They offer a lot of options for security and to transfer money quickly. They also offer ways to be able to protect your money and I am actually impressed with it more than PayPal. The service is pretty outstanding. The quality of their product is pretty good. I do not trust many online pay programs but this one I do. It makes it easier and sufficient to send bills. One area I am not satisfied with... I do not like the fees they charge. They could lower them a bit. That is the only downfall to this service. The customer service answers my questions and also lets me know if there's a problem. If I need to check a payment, they are quick to answer me and provide me with useful feedback.

Easy way to SEND or receive money! Cheap fees and easy to use. Quick services! I sent money with next day shipping and it arrived on time. I used the money next day to send money to my mother. It arrived on time and without any issues! I had no problems and low fees made it easy to send money. There were low fees. I think it was @2.95 to send money next day which is not bad at all. I thought it sent fast and a great speed. No additional fees.

Venmo is a digital money transfer that works instantly drawing funds from your Venmo account or your bank or debit card. I'd recommend to anybody who doesn't have time to deal with money transfers. Digital peer-to-peer payments is the way to go and Venmo is an offshoot of PayPal who's been doing it for years; it charges 3% for a credit card use as it takes time to process. Additional fees is only 3% per peer-to-peer transaction; for instance, if you order a couple of pizzas it won't be as much as a single slice. As a PayPal subsidiary, it works hard at customer service since other digital wallets are coming on board fast as in Square; customer reviews are great so far on Venmo for customer service.

It's similar to Paypal but safer in a sense in terms of transferring money. You have all the options of Western Union such as transfer, deposit, and withdrawal. It's not very widely known like paypal is but those of you who have given it a chance will come to love it just as much if not more than paypal. Like most banks do they charge a small fee for transfers to accounts that aren't within the U.S, it's just a security deposit in a sense to keep your funds safe. Their customer service is 10x better than paypal. They actually take the time to contact you back in regards to your inquiry and issues in a timely manner.

It was okay, would be better if it is easier to understand. It is not very convenient. Many people have never heard of it. Please make it more known. Needs to be available in more areas. Nothing extra was available and the flexibility was not what I expected. Need more options and more user-friendly. Would be nice if there was available help if needed. There should not be any fees associated with these transactions, it is already hard enough to make the payments without added fees. It should be a free service to many or people who qualify. Customer service reps are rude and uncaring. They should be sympathetic to your situation and problems. They should act and sound like they enjoy their job and be more friendly, maybe ask how your day is or something nice.

This was easy to use and I had a few options on the way I would want to transfer money to the receiver. Its secure and safe as well. I would recommend this method to anyone. The services are easy, safe and secure. The customer service is always helpful as well. I have never had any problems when I use this service. The fees are not bad at all. They are low in my opinion so most all others charge a fee as well. This one seems to be the lowest I think. The customer service is outstanding. They are always ready to help. They are very friendly no matter what you may need. They will help you as long as you need it.

Very slow and could have been a lot faster. Really didn't like it. Needs to be a lot better and faster to use. Would not use it again at this time. Their services are good. I wish they was a lot better. I may or may not try them again. It just depends how I'm feeling at the time about it. I don't having to pay additional fees for services. They need to make them free for the customers especially with direct deposit and etc. Their customer service isn't the best in the world. They act like they don't want to talk to you or help you when you call them.
