After all initial information requests were met, there came a constant dribble of further requests, some repetitive or unreasonable (i.e. MUST be PDF not screenshot of bank statement even though in middle of cycle and no statement yet published). It seems like your process could be streamlined a bit more.

The process was quick and easy, loan officers know their products, and I didn't feel I was trying to be sold on a loan package that wasn't in my best interest. Also nice that my loan won't be sold to some other third party down the line. I had a great experience with New American Funding!

Our experience was full of ups and downs. While that doesn’t seem like a reason to leave 5 stars I will say that this is due wholly in fact to the representatives who helped us along the way. We are so fortunate to be able to refinance and New American appeared to be the right company to do that with. Like most mortgage/refinance process it was not simple and easy. We still felt that New American was a great choice, but that is due to representative’s such as Chris ** who made this entire experience endurable. I hope most have had their own “Chris **” as it truly helped keep us positive and sane through the process. Thank you Chris and happy to be with New American for the next, well too many years of our lives.

My loan officer was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and helpful during the process. The underwriters did ask the same questions over and over which was frustrating but my situation was a little unique so I tried to be understanding. I was asked to provide a piece of information from my employer the Monday before my Friday closing which was also very frustrating, luckily I was prepared for it and had told my employer ahead of time that I might need it. My loan officer Anthony made the overall experience pleasant. He explained everything and helped me figure out ways to get documents that I was having a hard time obtaining. It was obvious he has a lot of experience, patience, and a great customer service attitude. I have only gone through the beginning stages of buying my house but so far I would recommend New American Funding. The rates are good, the options for loans are good, and customer service is good as well.

First, I paid cash for my home and searched afterwards for a mortgage with the thought that I could benefit from the low interest rates while putting my cash to work for me in investments. I have excellent credit. The lender salesperson, Jesse ** first misled me in terms of the actual interest rates offered for excellent credit. Then after I submitted all my financial info and allowed him to run my credit report, he came back with a disclosure of High mortgage fees (he first said they didn’t charge) and an interest rate of 3.25% on my credit score of more than 850! They try to take advantage and apparently think we are uninformed consumers. All of this after he intentionally lied and misled me. Needless to say, I will just keep my asset position on my home vs dealing with scams.

Tim ** took over our account when a coworker horribly bungled and unprofessionally ignored our application for almost a year. Yes, almost a year. Tim got us through the entire process in just weeks and was available and responsive, patiently explaining every step. We were ready to walk away from this company but Tim saved the account. I had a great loan officer! He was professional, knowledgeable and got my refinance loan done in record time. Michael listened to me and gave me personalized advice based on my goals. Moving from an FHA 30-year fixed to a Conventional 30-year fixed and removing my PMI will save me $230 a month, and my loan amount is staying the same. We opted for a slightly higher interest rate in exchange for a large lender credit, so I had zero out of pocket costs after an appraisal waiver. I'm looking forward to getting a nice escrow refund to start the New Year too. This refinance loan was a no-brainer. I have 20% equity in my home from price appreciation, and it makes no sense to wait 10 years for the PMI to drop off. Great experience overall.

Closed 3 weeks after schedule. Appraisal company waited till the last minute and didn’t perform well. The under writer waited to get some processes completed. Not sure if he didn’t really understand steps for a Mobile home? Original cost for % was 0 and we ended up paying 1,000+ to keep rate. Michael our loan officer was great!

We applied for a FHA loan through New American Funding. The process was not easy, but I don't think any mortgage is! Our state has several laws that are different from most others and New American was able to get us through the process and into our house!

I gave my overall experience the highest rating for New American Funding although I had a extremely poor experience regarding the appraisal process. Geoffrey ** appraised my home twice in 3 years. Both appraisals seemed low. Jenny was helpful and understanding. Ordered a second appraisal after my most recent one came in low and the second appraisal was 40k higher. It was clear the low appraisal was racially motivated.
A neighbor got their home appraised a week before mine. Their home was one bedroom less, 300 square ft. smaller, similar finishes and upgrades. My home had landscaping and patio cover, theirs did not. Their home appraised for $635k. Geoffrey appraised my home for $610K. So I knew something wasn’t right. The second appraisal by a different appraiser came in at 650k. The second appraiser spent much more time at my home than Geoffrey. I hope you no longer use his services as he clearly does not thorough work and is clearly biased.

Courtney was amazing. My only problems came from the underwriter. They were requesting things of me not consistent with FHA guidelines, and when I asked for them to show me the specific guidelines they couldn't even pull it up, and said it's "underwriter's discretion". Luckily Courtney was there as a liaison to help.

I got a great rate and the loan closed very quickly. From initial contact to closing was about 2 weeks. The loan officer and processor were professional, upfront, and knowledgeable. Shane **, Lekeshia **, and Markia ** are absolutely wonderful! So many great qualities it is difficult to list them all. Can't say quite as many good things about the others associated with our loan. Duplicate information was requested from us multiple times, very frustrating. The mobile notaries were absolutely wonderful, but the company that scheduled them was terrible, and lied about rescheduling, then tried to make their mobile notary look bad. Would suggest New American contract with a different Notary Service, as this one will eventually lose their good notaries. I would also suggest that there be a way to get a digital copy of the loan paperwork after signing. Overall a satisfactory experience, and we would choose Shane and New American again, but a couple of unprofessional glitches that I would have expected to be smoother as your company is in business to do this type of loan.

NewAmerican used internet tech along with real, knowledge mortgage professionals to work us through the Re-Fi process. Taking advantage of low rates and the equity we built into our home of 15 years, we are now able to return a large portion of that equity into the property with a remodel and eliminate credit card interest we have struggled with for years. I had been hesitant to use any lender that didn’t have a nearby office with people that I could walk into and sit face to face with. It took a good friend and his positive experience with NAFunding to alleviate my concern and begin the application process online. I am glad I did and will be treating my friend and family to a barbecue at our home this spring when the remodel is complete. We received several calls from a supervisor at NAF looking to speak about removing the PMI on our current mortgage. Upon returning the call, we were put in touch with Michael **, who suggested that we look at refinancing since rates had dropped. I was concerned about being approved due to Parent Plus loans in deferment, but Michael was able to get us approved for a lower rate with no PMI and pay off a personal loan, saving us close to $900 per month in payments. From start to finish the process took less than 30 days.

He never admitted to know every answer to my questions and clearly set expectations that if he didn’t know he would find out and call immediately. The process was easy and the loan closed ahead of schedule. Peyton ** the loan processor was equally as great and should be acknowledged for her professionalism and skills to keep the file moving through the system. Her follow up and timely requests with immediate responses allowed underwriting approval and closing within the scheduled timeline of forty-five days. From the day our application was submitted October 25th, to signing closing documents November 20th, then funding November 26th was efficient and impressive to complete a start to end refinance in thirty days.

Our loan agent was wonderful, not one bad thing to say about him. We ran into an issue where our property taxes were just about due, and we needed to figure out who was going to pay them. This was a very confusing process, and the underwriter presented our options in a way that wasn’t very clear. Fortunately, our loan agent was able to get on the phone with me quickly to explain the options and relay the choice we made to the underwriter.

Working with Scarlett ** was a very good experience. She was professional, responded quickly and thoroughly. I believe there were issues however with the underwriters or other departments. Closing was rescheduled three times and I was informed after 5 pm the day prior that closing on the following day was canceled. This was very inconvenient for my husband and I as we had to take time off from work several times. Also the property tax was incorrectly calculated or forgotten in the calculation and changed my DTI so that we had to change the loan amount after closing had already been scheduled. My only negative comment concerns our Loan Processor Stephanie **. Stephanie did not seemed interested in the process and it was not exactly easy to get ahold of her. I hope it has to do with Covid so I don't want to be too hard on her - I do not know what she was dealing with at the time. In any case, I would recommend NAF to friends and family and would be interested in what other services NAF has to offer me and my family in the present.

Very easy process, a little slower than expected, but still very happy with results. Every agent that we spoke with was very helpful and friendly. Vantage dropped the ball at the end by sending physical checks made out to the vendors. Major inconvenience to drive 30 minutes and then pay additional to Fed Ex to expedite and then still have to make an additional $1300 in payments because they would not post in time. Now it will tie that money up for up to three months minus the additional interest and postage for the refund and processing fees for the refund check. What a way to finish out. William was fantastic but the Title company dropped the ball.

We'd planned to simply refinance our existing mortgage, before rates rose, then do a HELOC in a few months, when we were ready to begin renovations. However, when we were told about the ability to do a cash-out refinance now, with the ability to repay any money (above $5,000, at any time in the future) that we didn't use for our renovations, and do a recast of the mortgage at the SAME new rate, we were blown away. This option gives us the cash-in-hand to tackle all our renovations at once, at an interest rate lower than a standard HELOC (whose rates often flux with prime rate rises.) And since our Structural Engineer just told us we don't have to do major structural work, we'll be able to return a large chunk of our cash-out, recast, and reduce our monthly mortgage payments, once we're done with all the renovations in a few months.
And in the meantime, mortgage interest paid on our cash-out will be tax deductible, whereas HELOC interest isn't deductible. It's a fantastic option for us, and we had absolutely wonderful guidance from Nathan **, our loan officer. Within one month of first talking with Nathan, we had our cash in hand. We highly recommend working with Nathan and with New American.

My loan officer, Scarlett **, was extremely helpful, but whoever was in underwriting was ridiculous with all the verification of employment requirements, especially when it came to the fact that I work from home. All of the hoops to jump through on that one point was beyond common sense. It held up the process for no reasonably good reason. It was more than verified that I was employed, with whom I was employed, and what I made on a twos basis. Whether I did so from home or in an office is irrelevant to the basics of being verified as gainfully employed and have the means to pay the mortgage. Common sense and in light of all the provided supporting documentation, did not rule the day in this case. Thankfully, Scarlett and Robin were awesome.

I was always a little wary of refinancing due to the horror stories I have heard before. This process was fast and easy. They stayed in contact and answered any questions I had quickly. Best part was that I didn't need to get an appraisal so that saved me some money and I got a better interest rate because I went through Credit Karma. Couldn't have asked for a better process.

Everything was dealt with in a timely manner, except for the property appraisal. The real estate market has exploded in this area, it stand to reason that more companies should be considered in the appraisal part of the process. We experienced a delay of almost a month, because of this.

I looked at options of refinancing on Credit Karma and found New American Funding to be the best option and their Google reviews complimented that. Next day I received a phone call and the process began. It was quick and easy! Any questions I had was quickly answered and any changes I wanted to make was made without me having to do anything. I appreciated working with Joe ** and Brigette **. They followed through on everything they said they would and helped me rescore my credit to get excellent terms on my mortgage refi. Both were extremely helpful and quick to respond. The only issue I had was communicating costs occasionally resulted in confusion - numbers discussed on the phone or in email with Joe didn't appear to match up with the numbers I would later see on loan estimate docs. I don't think Joe was ever misleading me, just that the numbers he was seeing in his tools didn't match up with what I would see on my end, and I couldn't figure out how they were correlated. Despite this, I was pleased with my experience working with Joe.

I did not make it easy on the New American Funding team because I was refinancing my home and vehicle at the same time. My AC also broke so I was forced to open a new credit card. With these issues, Stephanie ** and Joseph ** were very patient and understanding through the process. I was very pleased with their service and knowledge.
