I run a business and recently had a very disappointing experience with USPS international shipping. I shipped two separate packages to Italy on different days using Priority Mail, which was advertised as taking 8–10 days. Both shipments contained only documents. Unfortunately, neither package ever reached its destination, and no clear explanation was provided. To make matters worse, USPS refused to issue a refund, even though each shipment cost around $80. Customer service was extremely difficult to reach, and when I spoke with a representative at a local branch, I was told that USPS is not responsible for what happens once the package leaves the United States. This lack of accountability, transparency, and support is unacceptable, especially for a paid international service. I would strongly caution other businesses against relying on USPS for important international shipments.

USPS in Chula Vista Rancho del Rey, Oxford St…Worst customer service, I left feeling upset, frustrated and disappointed by the 2 female employees.. They are rude and don’t do their job properly. Came on time 6min before my app and almost 30 min later my bae was not called, I approached one of the ladies and very rude told me wait outside, once they called me the whole interaction was rude and not pleasant.. On 26th February my small package left Stockbridge, MI bound for the UK, using their first class international service. It's now March 21st and the package was last reported in Chicago. That's over 3 weeks to travel around 300 Kms. If this is the best service that USPS can offer, maybe they should consider shutting down or getting rid of the deadwood and employing staff that earn their money.

I think there needs to be accountability in a government office. If you pay for a service you should receive the service or be given your money back. Still waiting on a package that was supposed to deliver on 11 mar. Paid for expedited service. Track has gone stale in the broke Phoenix hub. This is one government agency that needs to be looked at by the gal.

The Cincinnati Ohio warehouse needs to be investigated immediately. Every time I have a package shipped with USPS it moves through tracking fine UNTIL it reaches the Cincinnati location. It either sits for days before leaving there or NEVER leaves at all. Most of my LOST PACKAGES are lost or misplaced from this location!!! I don't know if it's a issue with carelessness or employees stealing. But either way it is becoming a huge issue. I have tried several times to file a formal complaint against this warehouse and it comes back to my local post office every time. Clearly some type of misconduct is going on at this location. INVESTIGATE THE CINCINNATI OHIO WEARHOUSE!! Packages should not make it there and NEVER make it from there it is becoming ridiculous!!!! I am to the point where I am looking into filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against this location.

I’ve tried to work with them, some of the most unhappy and angry carriers I’ve ever seen. One guy didn’t know I was in my yard and was slamming open and shut the mail doors, breaking them while cursing, stating “this has already been f’ng scanned” therefore, residents had to go back and forth to retrieve their mail for over a month until they fixed the mailboxes. Another female carrier throws packages over my gate, they won’t come to the front door, even though you can see there’s no pets outdoors. She should use the parcel box, sometimes she will cram packages in my small mail box. Now that I’ve contacted the supervisor, they are retaliating more by not delivering and wanting me to pick my packages up and leave snarky notes in my box. One package was delivered to my door and was neatly sliced open and all my contents were wet. So tired of the unprofessionalism from workers.

75% of my packages are late 2 days or more with lost mail at 10-15%. No exaggeration at all. This is the most incompetent business in the world! Priority mail in 2-3 days, forget about it! May get there in a week, then again, maybe it won't even get there. Using USPS is a freaking crap shoot to get anything delivered. I had to send a certified letter to town less than 80 miles away. I dropped off at post office during business hours Thursday March 5th and scheduled delivery Saturday the 7th. Today is March 13th with last tracking scan on the 9th in a town 30 miles away. I called usps and the told me to give it a few more days. Unbelievable of how many ** they have working for usps. Now you think it's a good idea for the ** to be handling voter mail in ballots for elections? What a freaking joke!!!

The Hampton VA branch that receives mail for Hampton. Are the laziest, slow, unintelligent, could care less. They all should be fired Top To bottom. Mail arrives there from Richmond. They're so lazy. They don't bother looking, send my package back to Richmond, taking 3 days then it sits in Richmond for 2 days as those lazy works goof off. They send it back to Hampton where it sat for 2 days before delivery to me. 12 days for a pkg to go from Tenn to Hampton. Ridiculous. They don't care. Once those morons are hired they know it's hard as well to fire their lazy asses.

Only got two stars because I like my carriers and they are not the problem. Nothing is ever on time. The tracking system is so bs it always says running late and in transit to next facility. But never to which facility, it so generic. It’s like code for we lost your package. Typical government institution, if it was a private carrier, they would be out of business. I actually won’t buy anything for eBay because it’s a crapshoot as to when you’ll get it. Rather pay more and buy locally or Amazon.

I am writing this review to express my disdain for the USPS. I purchased a $300.00 gift card for my parents for Christmas that I insured and required a signature for delivery. Well poof, it disappeared in Houston, so I filed a claim that was denied, so I filed an appeal, and it was also denied. I was told that I can no longer file an appeal as the decision has been made that no payment will be made as just because it was insured, that does not guarantee delivery. Guess they can just steal from you and don’t give a ** about refunding you the money you paid for insurance and all. Just saw that a postal worker out of Houston was arrested for theft, so it seems that they condone this type of behavior. I will never utilize THEM AGAIN! Completely unacceptable and very disappointed! Lesson learned **.

While my local Post Office is great, the online website is constantly having issues and customer service is nonexistent. I have been trying for days to cancel a mail hold. The site doesn't work. I tried contacting them and they kept telling me how to put in a mail hold. When I finally got someone to actually pay attention I was told to try things like clearing the cache and using a different browser. I have been on the internet since the 90s, pretty sure I have known to try these things before and would have done all that before contacting them. It's the site that has an issue, not my browser. But apparently contacting and talking to 10 different people, nobody can actually cancel the mail hold.
I am not available during regular working hours, so I have tried the 800 number, when you put in a voice prompt they have no clue what "cancel mail hold" means. The chat agent is only trained to repeat whatever is in the q&a or troubleshooting section (if I'm contacting you it's because I have already been through all that) and even when I tried calling my local Post Office (again off regular hours because I am NOT available during regular business hours.) They didn't even have a voice mail for me to leave a message.
It's like USPS has gone back to the days pre tech and you can only call or go to the office to do anything. I have like 20 packages coming and they are going to be dropped off on my porch in the middle of the day for hours being just feet away from the sidewalk. So, now I'm going to have to deal with the process of stolen mail on top of all this. 20 years ago I could have emailed them and they would have been like "okay, let's get that canceled for you" but today apparently only the programed system can do it? I don't even know how to express how disrespected I feel right now.

She is making mail handlers scan "Delivered" on all PO Box packages, even if a card goes into the box for pickup, doing away with the scan "Available for Pickup". The mail handlers don't like this, but told to do so, as it makes the Post Office appear better on their point system. While USPS provides excellent service within the United States, the international experience—particularly for shipments destined for Liberia—has been extremely disappointing. It appears that packages are handed off to Air Maroc for final delivery, and this may be contributing to significant delays. Air Maroc has a history of offering poor service to their customers.
I shipped a package via USPS Priority Mail International, and it has now been 15 days without delivery. Additionally, I can even track the item anymore; it is not updating, which has made the situation very stressful. For improved service reliability, I would strongly recommend considering an alternative carrier for the Liberia route, such as Brussels Airlines, which has historically provided more consistent service to the region. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope USPS can review and improve its handling of international shipments to Liberia.

Updated on 03/19/2026: This is an update to my review on Post Office located in New Braunfels TX 2/18/26. The PO Clerk followed up, this person is using my PO Box address without their permission even though he paid for the box, he did this on his own. Again they feel this is no problem since I have the key and he can’t get into my box. They are trying to contact him. Another follow-up they have not heard from him. Note: all his mail is now being delivered to my box. They offered to move ME to another box. It will take 2 weeks plus time to process a change of address moving my mail to the new box within the same facility. I declined.
I believe I am being retaliated against. I was notified by my Insurance Agency a check was returned to them that had my correct address on it. She read it off to me. A tax form sent to my previous address was forwarded to my new PO Box in TX by the PO in my previous state in January. It was returned to the state claiming wrong format was used on the Yellow Forwarding Address Label that is printed by the PO. I do not know how many other letters have been returned to sender. The only items that I have received is a periodical and advertisements. Any suggestions from consumers reading this on what you would do to resolve this because the PO is not correcting this situation.
Original Review: USPS 651 N IH 35 New Braunfels TX. I moved to this area 9/25 and started the process to have my mail held at my previous address for 30 days and then forward a month's worth of mail to my new address. The 1st attempt to file a COA was online. Their system could not verify my identity so I had to have a counterperson verify it. Everything was verified a COA (Change of Address) was submitted. I was told 7 to 10 days for my mail to start being delivered to my PO Box. 15 days No mail, nothing. Counterperson tells me there is no COA in the system and refused to research it thought it was funny to lie to me and say that there are absolutely no supervisors or managers at this address.
I had to drive to another location to have a supervisor verify my info again, come back in 7 days. 7 days later COA disappeared from the system. The supervisor can’t input a COA, go back to the first location. Michelle verified my info again, 3rd time, and she confirmed the Address for the PO Box. 10 days later no mail, went back, poof, disappeared from the system. Sorry used the wrong zip code, let’s do it all over again, and again.. 5 COAs input into the system all just poof! disappears.
I called the regional office In VA, they not only received the COA but contacted the New Braunfels PO to confirm. No mail. Each time I called for an update with VA the COA was suddenly deleted. The delay between each filing was up to 15 - 20 days. Over 3 months. No mail. A month's worth of mail that was held then 3 months of new mail just disappeared. Dec 2025 comes and goes no mail. But another person starts having their mail delivered to my box. First it’s one piece of mail every other week then two. Now March 2026 none of my mail comes in.
Today, Kyle ** had a batch of mail delivered to my box which I just renewed for $96.00 including a letter with an official Yellow Forwarding Label processed by the PO. Forwarding his mail to my box. None of my mail has yet to be delivered to me. Counterperson tells me it’s ok, they don’t have the key to your box what’s the problem? Ok so all his previous mail that was delivered to my box and this batch of 6 letters what happened to it. Was it given to him? Really nice of the PO to let Kyle ** have his mail delivered at a discount … I paid, he got it for free.
The person I spoke to is researching the problem. Oh, did I say I sent myself letters that I never received. Ever want to feel like you were just made to “disappear” Move from Chesapeake VA to New Braunfels. They will be happy to block your mail from getting to you including checks, have NB slowly reassign your box to someone else. Do I sound paranoid or just pissed off! By the way my name is Linda Ar. If I disappear you know where to start looking. VA.

What the hell is going on over there? Do I need to show up to the main offices and kick someone's ass? Do I need to take matters into my own hands with this company? I didn't have a tracking number because some part of me thought you all knew how to deliver a package without stealing items from it.
I'm truly saddened by the fact that your company does not care. How can you pride yourselves in a job well done if you aren't completing simple deliveries? I was in my one bedroom apartment when the postman came by and taped a notice on my door saying I had a certified letter at the post office that was undeliverable because no one was available. Yep, he had stayed up the night before and written out all his slips. I figured this out because when I went to the post office I made a point to speak with the postmistress and she said that is the way they do all of the certified and registered letters. She said "we get paid for the signature". What she doesn't realize is that she is being paid to OBTAIN a signature and when she is fobbing the responsibility off onto the public it negates that responsibility because who is to say that half of those people won't just throw away that little slip of paper instead of driving to the post office.
If the post office is unable to do the job they are being PAID to do then they should hire more employees to pick up the slack and not expect the public to do their job for them. Especially, the aged and infirm who are some of the people who live in my building. How would they be able to go out to get the letter that the postman was too lazy to stop and knock on the door to deliver?

I brought them back in and she tells me that, "Oh you should have just done it by the place that you're doing the temporary address at because we can't do it from here." but that was after she already told me to go out to the car so she knew to tell me that the first time and I was in line with my kids 3-year-olds so and then tells me I'm making a problem because I'm not going to be there that long .. Excuse me. Just do your job. They never want to do their job. They complain and nag all the time.

The Southeastern Post Office in Wayne, PA is horrible. If I could give them zero stars I would. They are constantly short staffed which means that every customer they deliver mail to gets their mail very late. They keep giving the same excuse of being unable to keep staff or hire. We have 3 days of mail from last week that we have yet to receive. They have no answer as to why we haven't gotten mail yet. The excuse for 1/26 is the snow. Which is understandable! There was a ban on commercial vehicles so they could not be on the road. Yet a week later we have yet to receive that mail. The Post Master promised we would get mail between 12:30pm and 1:30pm on a daily basis but the district office stated originally they can make that promise only if they are fully staffed and there is no other work to do. Now, I am being told they can't promise a time when daily mail will be delivered.
The business I work for relies on the daily mail delivery in order to make sure we stay open. Yet, they don't care. When I put a complaint in, it takes at least 3 days if not longer to get any sort of response and it is the same excuse. They are short staffed. District office states that they have hired 2,000 carriers just last year. If so, where are they? How come the daily mail delivery is so horrendous? I feel bad for any person that works at the Southeastern Post Office. Just the carriers work 12+ hour days at least 5-6 days a week with no care to their overall health.

My Mother's Christmas card that I placed in their mailbox in front of the post office in Baldwin MD, was never delivered to my Mom's house, which is out of state. Had a $150.00 Walmart gift card in it because I was not sure if I was going to make it to see her over Christmas. The bright red envelope must have been the give away as well as the out of state address. I stopped in to ask about it after 3 weeks went by. The woman behind the counter knew exactly where I was coming from and told me that they were aware of missing mail at this address. She gave me a slip of paper from a small box sitting on the counter with the inspector generals website so that I could claim fraud and stolen mail. The bad part is that they know about it happening. I have never received a response.

I shipped a package in September via Priority Mail, generating and paying for my shipping label on their website. I put the package in my mailbox the next day and it was picked up. After over a week of not hearing from the recipient, I checked the online portal which still said it was awaiting the package. I filed a claim against the $100 insurance that the Post Office provides automatically, for the $60 value of the item I shipped + the $12 I paid for the label. They denied my claim, stating they never received the package because it was never scanned into their system. I was forced to ship another item to my client at additional expense.
TWO MONTHS later, the first package was delivered. This proves that obvious the post office DID receive my original package, disproving their basis for denying my insurance claim. I filed an appeal, which they denied again. They do not stand behind their services and they do not honor their guarantees. I ended up paying another $72 out of pocket because of their clerical error, and they still won’t admit their mistake

I would give the USPS a zero if I could. Unfortunately there's no option to leave a zero. The USPS really screwed up with a package that was coming from my attorney's office in Davie Florida. They sent my package on January 14th with a two-day Priority Mail. Instead of taking two days and being at my location on the 16th it took 6 days. The package went South to Fort Lauderdale and then further South to Miami when it was supposed to have come North to Leesburg. This is insane. How can the postal service have such a horrible way of moving a package from one location to another. Their logistics is totally screwed up! I constantly was calling and getting nowhere. They told me that whatever I saw online that's what they were seeing on their screen.
The local office didn't even know where it was here in Leesburg until the day it was delivered to me which was the 20th. The package was sent out first locally in Leesburg on the 19th at 1:32 p.m. and at 9:09 p.m. it was returned to the post office without ever reaching my location. They had no explanation for it at all! Then they turned around and said, "Oh well the 19th was a holiday. Martin Luther King Jr. birthday." Yeah it was sent out on the 19th and just never was delivered. How screwed up is the postal system. To top it all off they said, "Well if your package isn't delivered after 7 days you can file a complaint and we will track and see where it is." Imagine that. You have to wait 7 days to file a complaint about a lost package in the postal system! That's foolish all in and of itself!
I don't think that they really scan the packages properly because they can't seem to know where any package is on any given day. That's for sure! Amazon, FedEx, UPS. They are all 100 times better than the USPS! Don't trust the USPS with any packages because you never know where they will go or when they will get there! The package arrived 1 month later and as I tracked it I find that the parcel is on its way back to me (the sender). I called the recipient of the package to ask why it’s on it way back to me and they informed me that the post office wanted $800.00 to cover the duty. Seriously? $800.00 on a $10.00 package? A 4 lb box worth $ 10.00 should not be anywhere near $800.00. How in the hell is that possible? I called the post office and they tried to tell me that customs in Canada would have opened it and determined how much the package was worth because of the tariffs. I call BS.

And with all the documents, me, my wife and our little one reached there on 22nd, and the young lady told us that we need an appointment for new passport acceptance, which we realized our mistake, and set up an appointment for the next day for 11.45am.
Next day, as we were leaving the house, the infant started to cry, to take care of his needs, it took us some time, as we didn’t want him to be fussy at the post office appointment, so we were late 10 to 15 mins. We were feeling bad that we didn’t make it on time and apologized to the young person standing behind the counter and were glad at the same time, as no one was there in the post office so we might get helped. We were surprised to hear the tone of the young tall person, saying that they don’t help with passport services between 12pm-1pm, which I understand, and again told him that due to infant issues we were only 10-15 mins late, but the manner of tone of the tall young man was so demeaning that we thought for a second what a big mistake we have done.
We were thinking, even if we were to be helped at 1145 am, it should have easily taken 30 to 40 mins with infant picture taking all, and which would have passed the 12pm deadline. And with nobody besides us in the post office, he just kept repeating they can’t help. As we were to drive back to Madera, I went back again just one more time to request them, as it’s not very easy travelling with infant and more importantly the store was not busy at all.
The moment I entered I saw 4 employees just chit chatting behind the counter area, and I asked one employee to see if they could help us, he also said the same thing and told me that I should have reached 30 mins early, which sounds great and I understand that. Thankfully, another older gentleman was there, must be a supervisor, I requested him too and asked him politely, that due to child issue we got 10 to 15 mins late, but he also said same thing, like the others were saying, looks like they must be really good at throwing policy book at clients or great team players, because, they knew my issue well before I talked them in detail, must have talked to each other, when I entered the store second time. Which is great, as team unity is important in a retail environment.
Funny part is, when I was pleading with the supervisor, an older female customer came and overheard our conversation. Even she said, give him a break, as Christmas is around the corner, at that time, the supervisor said ok, wait for one hour then we will help you, especially if the other scheduled appointment doesn't show up. I realized they are in no mood to help me today, even when the store was empty most of the time. I left the store and scheduled an appointment for another day, unfortunately at the same place, as this is one nearest to me for passport services.
My issue is not that I wasn’t helped, or rule book was thrown at me, as I was polite at all times and left the store thinking, why everyone there was not in a mood to accommodate, starting with demeaning tone to making sure no one makes exception especially in regard to passport services even when they were not busy. Being myself in a retail leadership role for the last 15 plus years, I felt there was something missing out there. To which I realize there is a leadership issue at this location, especially when I talked to supervisor, I could feel that he don’t want to do different what his staff have already said, or try to understand the situation, and take action on what is best for this store, which is providing a great customer experience. And now I also understand why that young gentleman spoke to us like this, why even the store was empty, they don’t want to help, because the culture in the store is like this.
As I looked more regarding functioning of Post office, I came across that Post Office employees are Public Servants but are NOT funded through public taxes, instead are self-funded through sales In there stores, which suggests me this should be a great reason to provide strong customer service experience, as I was also going to buy passport size pics and other stuffs, which I guess was revenue for the store. Which makes me wonder about a lot of other things.
I understand that there are times when there should be no exceptions and policies should be followed. But sometimes, when circumstances like this, a person was in your store 3 times, bringing his 2 months old infant twice, coming from a different town, only a few mins late and the store was not busy, I guess little consideration should have been given, just my thoughts.
Going through others' feedback, I see a pattern in this location, that employees don’t like helping people especially coming with passport submission requests. It is unfortunate that the Madera location does not serve as a passport submission facility, where I have been going over all these years without any issue. Also, understanding that Madera location is quite a busy location too, but still providing exceptional customer experience. Sorry for Long feedback but I feel my experience there mandated this for others to understand the overall experience at this location.

My package actually arrived 30 min away from me 3 days before the holiday, and they are purposely holding it until after the holidays. Especially now that they have Christmas Eve and after Christmas off, forget about it. It’s a shame, because I wish I had an option to pick it up since my package is no more than 40 min away from me. On tracking it, the letter went in 2 days to Tampa for sorting, and then came back to Sarasota where it sat for another three days being “processed“; it is still in Sarasota, now scheduled for delivery on Monday. 5 days to travel 4 miles but it actually traveled approximately 140 miles. Now that’s inefficiency at its highest level. Something is terribly wrong when 30 years ago such a delivery would happen the following day. I literally resent seeing numerous expensive ads on television claiming superb service of USPS for 250 years when this is how they operate. Two days later I am told that the package is at another post office 10 miles away. When I go there, they can't find it because the network is down and I need to sign electronically. That's when I politely said that I wasn't leaving until I received my property. I pointed to a box behind the counter and asked if that was mine. It was.
About twenty years ago I recall a news story about how the USPS had become so efficient that they had to actively delay ordinary first class mail because it would often be delivered within 24 hours of the PO's receipt. That made overnight express delivery unnecessary and as consumers realized, they wouldn't pay extra for a service they were going to get anyway. I smile at my mail carrier and give them some chocolate at Christmas, but otherwise I would prefer to never interact with USPS again. They didn’t stop the mail in one place until they finished the investigation.
And they say that the letter is coming to my address but to give it time. More than 20 people told me different things. What is inside the letter is something I needed receive before Dec 1st and I have to use that item everyday. USPS and the workers, including the supervisors, don’t admit that they made an error. If they made a mistake, why don’t they fix it as soon as possible.
Every call I made told me something else. How can wait for something that I need for every day use. I have to spend money for this item because they didn’t resolve this problem. The A.I system is flawed. They make you reply more than 10 times and they hang up on you, forcing you to call back. It is the worst service for a certified letter. I confirmed with my local post office before coming here that I could have a second post office box in Florida so I can have my mail transferred while I'm looking for real estate investment, also it says on the website and all over the internet that having an out-of-state PO box is perfectly allowed and the forms are available.
I went to the post office at 1950 Northeast 6th Street in Pompano Beach Florida 33060 and asked the lady at the counter to just review my second form of identification before I go online and fill out the forms. The woman told me that I was not allowed to open a PO box in Florida because I don't have a Florida address, I explained to her that I got the forms online read about it on the website and confirmed it with my local post office that it is allowed. She told me that I was not allowed to do it and I would need to use a friend's address and have a notarized letter that I'm staying with them which is absurd!
I tried to help this woman understand that the rules are clear on the United States postal service website and she said NO! I told her I would like to speak with the postmaster. Her reply to me was quite rudely I might add, " I am the lead here and I'm telling you that you can't open the post office box and you can go online and file a complaint." Under no circumstances am I going to be turned away from this postal worker. I filed a complaint over the phone. My case number is **.
The lady on the phone agreed with me and was very understanding. She gave me the phone number for the direct district office which I'm trying to get in touch with now. If you do a Google search for this post office and read the reviews you will find that the place has a horrible reputation for its conduct. Who is this woman because she claims to be some big “lead” thinking she has the right to make her own rules or deny me speaking to the postmaster??
I am going to make as much noise as I need to make but this woman should be terminated from her job immediately, she has absolutely no concern for the people who go in there totally unaware of what they mean they need to receive through the mail. I would appreciate a reply so that I know this is being addressed. I want my post office box and I need it now! Even after I get it this woman will be certain to make sure my packages are delayed, missing or damaged because she's going to know it was me who made this complaint. I am not going away.
Further, her excuse for this treatment was that they get a lot of fraud! So she's categorizing me? The fact that they get a lot of fraud is not my problem if it's even true and to categorize me as somebody who could be committing fraud is unacceptable. That's being made guilty before even committing a crime. Thank you for your time in this matter

The USPS, through a recent misguided policy, has become completely inefficient and unreliable. Due to an increased frequency of carrier accidents, the USPS has decided to discontinue package/parcel deliveries to residences. Their internal problem, that could be addressed through training and an implementation of quality assurance measures, has been dumped on the consumers. According to a USPS manager, they have a contract with Amazon to deliver 80% of their packages. If you pay for an Amazon Prime membership you are throwing your money away. Two day shipping is only possible if you’re willing to go pick your packages up at the Post Office. Amazon is complicit in this USPS debacle. The manager told me directly that the only way the USPS could improve is if it privatized.

My Postmaster said the Office that services the address where the watch was sent closed down for asbestos related issues. One of the reasons for claim denial in addition to them saying the watch was returned to me is I don't have a receipt. I don't have the receipt. I sent information on the replacement value for the same watch. At least give me a credit minus the broken crystal. This has been going on since July. It's now the end of November. Not even a return of the Priority Mail fee.

The USPS is not like any other international delivery service I’ve ever experienced. It’s terrible. For example, in the UK if you put a valid address on a letter or a parcel it gets delivered there. Even if the name on the parcel is not correct or spelt correctly or does not live there. As long as it is a valid address, they will deliver it there. They consider it the sender’s responsibility to make sure that the information is correct. In other words they’re not responsible if you get it wrong. Not so with the USPS. This created a big headache for me as I am in the United Kingdom and I shipped an original piece of artwork to the USA to an address where the recipient owned the property and used to live there although they did not live there any longer. The residents at the property were this person‘s tenants so they knew the person that I had sent it to.
But because the mailman thought that the recipient would not be known there anymore, he marked it as addressee unknown. He never went up to the house and knocked on the door. He never left a card. He didn’t even hold it at the post office and mark the tracking as held for more information requested. I think he just decided to send it back to be difficult because it was an international parcel. The same day he failed to deliver it he sent it back to the Kansas City international distribution center. They sent it on to Chicago who sent it back to Kansas City who sent it back to Chicago who sent it back to Kansas City who sent it to Saint Paul Minnesota who sent it back to Chicago. It was in SIX distribution centers nine times over 30 days and then they just stopped.
Customer service was extremely rude to me and kept explaining why they sent the parcel back. I didn’t need to know why they sent it back. I just needed to know why they wouldn’t actually send it back. All they wanted to do was chastise me about the address not being correct. But it was a correct address and the postman should not have been relying on his personal thoughts to decide whether or not to deliver the parcel. The USPS is supposed to deliver mail. They are a service company not a thinking Company. Consequently, I don’t have my package back and customer service got so tired of me asking why it was going back-and-forth and back-and-forth and back-and-forth between distribution centers that they quit talking to me. They think it’s my fault: but why does that give them the right to ignore me and steal my property.
I filed a missing mail request and got no response. So I filed another one and that one they picked up, but they’ve done nothing with it and it’s been three weeks. How can a division of the United States government blacklist someone just for complaining? It wasn’t my decision to send it back. It was theirs. Therefore, I am not responsible for their decision to send it back. Why can’t they just do their jobs? I suggest you use any other delivery company than USPS because if they decide they don’t like you, they will steal your property and then blame you.

I waited until Thursday November 20th to contact USPS customer service. Their email stated that they will get a representative to investigate it and get back with me in three business days. It is now November 23, 2025. Still have not received any correspondence.
My package has gone from Michigan to New Jersey to Illinois, back to New Jersey. It's bouncing back and forth. It's just not going to Virginia. My recipient is never going to get her package. Either a postal employee stole it, or they lost it and simply don't care. I'm never using usps again. UPS and FedEx are more reliable. I initial Closure & Inaccessibility (December 2024): I rented P.O box at the Trolley Square station. The box was closed without my consent. After I complained, it was reopened. I subsequently paid for its renewal, demonstrating my intent to maintain the service,
Systemic Failure Begins: Despite my payment, the post office again closed my box and changed the lock. Astonishingly, they continued to place mail into a locked box to which I was denied access.
Complete Loss of Mail: For months, each visit to the post office to inquire about my mail was met with the same response from clerks: "We don't know where your mail is." During this time, I complained to the Postmaster for Wilmington, and Postal Service, to no avail, if anything it made the situation worse.
Two months ago, (September 2025), I spoke with the new supervisor who acknowledged the problem. He personally delivered a large accumulation of my mail a few days later. This confirmed that my mail was being held within the facility, inaccessible to me. Since that one-time delivery, I have received no mail whatsoever. In fact, 11/19/25, I received a call from Delmarva Power requesting my new address, I told the young lady that that I’m still at the same address. She then explained that the post office sent my mail back and wrote on the envelope, “return to sender, moved wear about unknown .” This is not a case of intermittent service; it is a complete blackout of my postal delivery.
On November 17, 2025 I visited the Rodney Square office. The clerk, who was visibly annoyed, again stated she did not know where my mail was and, when I requested to speak with the supervisor, I was told he was not available. The consequences of their shameful failures are not merely inconvenient; they are catastrophic.
• Financial Security: My bank sent a new debit card six weeks ago. It has never been delivered, leaving me without secure access to my funds.
• Loss of Vital Benefits: Most devastatingly, the Delaware Department of Labor sent time-sensitive correspondence regarding my unemployment claim. As a direct result, my unemployment benefits have been terminated, and I'm now indebted to the state of Delaware for a portion of the payment received.

I would give negative stars if possible - Auburn, California post office is a failed institution. First, they've drawn an imaginary line that they won't deliver packages past. Next, when the parcel lock box is full they return packages to USPS instead of attempting delivery the following day even though the package is not available for pick up until the following day. It averages one hour including drive and wait time to go pick up a package yet they won't deliver the package 0.1-0.2 miles past the imaginary line.
Next, after lodging complaints my carrier has delivered my government issued documents that need timely action to another address. This has occurred multiple times with important bills or government documents. Retaliation is defined as imposition of an adverse action (e.g., harm) against in individual who asserts their constitutional rights (filing grievance or complaints). Are repeated coincidences really a coincidence? Time to dismantle and defend the failed USPS.
