I got my first settlement quickly, it was fantastic. However, it's been 2 months and nothing more, except paying large fees, 50 phone calls a day from creditors, and my credit rating tanked. Hanging in for now feels like it's too late to turn back.

I am so please with the quality of their service, FDR employee (Shane **) and his Team are assisting me to become debt FREE in 4 years. They negotiates to all my creditors on my behalf. Sean please get off at the beginning of this period of my life I was very edgy and scared. I had bill collectors calling me. I had threats coming in the mail. I had instability and was concerned about my future credit ratings. Please accelerate negotiations with my other creditors. Your customer service representative, she was very understanding and explained to me a lot of information. I got an email stating that in 4-6 month you can finalize negotiations with all creditors and get my approval on that. Please advise.

Very unhappy. Let them know promptly every detail I received concerning being sued by discover. They did nothing. So Discover was awarded a judgment for the whole amount. They said if I come up with an extra $1600 they could stop it from going to court/garnishment. So I took a title loan on my car with $260 interest. They didn’t stop anything. My checking account was garnished. Now they took $699 out of my account to hire someone else to clean up their mess. Paycheck has now been garnished. And they act like this is normal. They did nothing wrong. Even the guy they hired to fix their crap said FREEDOM dropped the ball big time. But I am paying for it. Run away fast!

Debt settlement is not easy. It took me awhile to decide if I want to do it or not. I chose Freedom Debt Relief due to their reviews and the size of the company. The good thing is that when you are done with the program YOU ARE DEBT FREE but to get there is NOT EASY! No credit cards for the time of the program, (mine is 4 and a half years) so you have to live with what you earn. Your credit score goes down to "Poor" which is about 575 (mine was 705 before). You might get sued once or twice depending how many accounts are involved. I did and FDR settled so I only had to go to the court's clerk to file a paper and pay an extra $250.

Zachary ** helped me from day one emailing and calling back and forth for a few weeks before I got the chance to actually sit down and go through the process which was very easy. He got me into a plan that fits perfectly with my budget and explained everything perfectly!

In 2012 we found ourselves with a huge debt and could not figure a way out of it alone. My husband was all for the program, I was very skeptical and afraid I could not follow their directives. BUT we signed up anyway. The advisors were patient and explained what we needed to do to become debt free in five years, and yet I remained skeptical. We did follow their advice, we called them for encouragement and when they settled our first account I felt that we made the right choice. The people answering the phones were polite, and was always willing to listen to my concerns and all calls were returned.

I have enrolled the settlement program since February 2015 and the program was supposed to be taken about 42 months that I signed at that time. However, the estimated final day is getting delayed month to month, which currently shows in December 2020 per client portal site. I was really disappointed that it will take more than 5 years to be completed the settlement program. In addition, the settlement fees have continuously deducted from my settlement account during the settlement period (monthly), which caused whole program is delayed. I want you to pay to creditors first and charge the fees later on. Please speed up for the settlement process. Thank you.

We have been working hard to reduce our debt over the past 10 years. Just when we seem to get a handle on things, our interest rates increase, or our credit limits decrease, or our payments increase, and our credit score goes down. It felt like we couldn't get on top of things, and the credit card companies didn't seem to want to work with us in a beneficial manner to us. It felt like they only wanted to profit in addition to being paid back for the money borrowed.

I am pleased with the progress of the negotiations. However, I am very disappointed in the response when I fax in correspondence from creditors and collectors. I always ask on the cover sheet for confirmation of receipt, but never ever get a confirmation from a representative from FDR. I need to know that stuff is going to the right places.

Very helpful explaining to us what was happening, next steps, reason for "behind-the-scenes" operations, etc. and always prevented further concerns from coming up by letting us know up front what to expect. Even explained the plans with alternatives of how we could speed up the process by contributing more money if we wanted but not obligated to do so.

As a client I'm an outsider looking in. Every time I call I am told that some of the settlements are based on monthly payments. I sent plenty of money into an account with Freedom yet they continue to negotiate with drawn out settlements. And I wasn't prepared for the extraordinary high fees on each settlement. Makes moving forward a very slow and very expensive process. They are good at what they do. No doubt. Big debt reduction. But high fees and not enough explanation of that going in. With all due respect in retrospect I may have tried the negotiations on my own had I known the fees were so high on each settlement.

Everything is working just like they said it would a year and a half ago. There are no surprises. I was told that my FICO would tank but would start to come back up. And it is. I was told that I might get served, and I was, but NLLG took care of it. 2 1/2 of my accounts are done. We're right on schedule with the time frame they gave me. We only have 2 1/2 more years to go. For a consumer, it's hard to work with creditors since they're not listening and they don't care. I feel like if they're talking to somebody professional on my behalf, I will get a better outcome. Compared to other companies, Freedom Debt Relief was more upfront with me so I decided to go with them. I told them what I had and that I was looking for consolidation but I didn't qualify for that so I went with the debt relief program. The enrollment was easy since they emailed me everything and the process only took 15 minutes. I told them how much I couldn't afford and we ended up setting up a payment plan so that I would start paying in August and that the payments come directly from my bank account into the account that I have said they're going to be deposited to.

First I want to say that your customer service team is very nice. When I first join it was reassurance that there would be no problems with the tax season as well as joining your team and becoming debt free within 3 years. This agreement was stated with no additional funds needed to be fully debt free. As the days got longer and we approach tax season 1; no one had any reassurance that I may have to pay the balance of my creditors. No one seem to have a sure answer, and this did not make me happy. In fact I was worried. The good news so far; tax season 1 is over and so far so good.

Updated on 1/6/2022: I've been feeling really positive about the program. They're always open to answering any questions I have and working with them has helped me take better control of my life. Also, not judging people for anything that they've been through that has gotten them to the point where they need to have debt consolidation is always very beneficial because you never know what someone is going through or what has led them to go down a slippery slope.

Took 4 yrs still no answer but got the runaround but no answer for non-void account from creditor that was negotiated in 2013 and one payment received. 4 yrs later they still not negotiated. As of now funds was available. Had more than enough in acct. They sent back money to my acct. Now they state now I need more money in acct. Need to train associates properly my perspective.

In 2014, I was struggling financially and barely keeping my head above water. Because of payments on my credit card debt, I was falling further and further behind. Everything has been moving along - progressing; dashboard keeps me up to speed with account activity; customer service response has always been top notch. My only concern just happened when I noticed that my "graduation date" has changed - several months have been added. Since I was nearly 1/2 way there, this change took me by surprise and has added expense to the original agreement - thus one star down.

I hate the customer service. I never get a phone call to discuss my progress or anything else for that matter. I have to call them!! They offered me a debt consolidation loan and turned it down and I received a letter from them with a vague information of why they rejected it. Then I had to send another letter back to them to get detailed information from them and never received a reply. They do their job just don't expect any interaction unless you call them!!

I just did not know where to turn. Then I heard about FDR. I called, spoke with a customer service representative and in a few days I was on my way. Don't expect this not to have an impact on your credit score. If you had a good one it will go down. But the benefits outweigh the impact. The reason I did not give them 5 stars is the constant e-mails wanting me to take out a loan to pay off the credit cards. The reason I am using them is to get rid of the debt not add another to the list. They did not tell me upfront I would have to pay income taxes on the difference between the debt and the negotiated settlement.
