It has been a year since we started with Cambridge, but I remember they had really good reviews, and it seemed like a pretty straightforward process. I called and immediately there was great customer service. They explained the things in details and it seemed very simple to do. The enrollment was really fast, and the counselor was very knowledgeable and very patient to explain the other option which was consolidation. They really explained the differences, and that was why we decided to do what we did through them.
We ended up paying everything and we decided to pay it before time because our finances had changed and I decided we could afford it. So, it really was a wonderful service. We ended up just paying out what was left and the cards as soon as we could. Our credit went up significantly. We have great credit now, and it really gives me peace of mind and understanding that I’ve got a credit card and how to manage it.

Our experience with Cambridge was very good. My husband liked it and he enjoyed it. We were trying to get some help on bill debt and some other medical bills too. We were referred to Cambridge and the enrollment process was very easy. The process didn’t take that long. They respond right away. My husband stated everything online and over the phone. The payment is really good and it’s fair enough for us. It's very convenient for us, as well. They were very helpful to us. And in the future, if we have other stuff, we will call Cambridge.

I had a great experience with Cambridge. Their enrollment process was very easy and good. There was a guy by the name of Danny and he was a nice gentleman who helped me out tremendously. We did the direct deposit thing and we set that up. I’m a little older and I needed some assistance with that. Once I set up with them, I would call them and I used to make a joke that I was harassing them because I didn't remember numbers. I did that every couple of months. They were cool. I had no issues with Cambridge. It has a good system and I recommend it. It’s fairly affordable too. Their program got me out of a problem fairly easily. Everything is paid up now and I’m glad I was able to get out of it.

I had too much debt and I wanted to get it paid off. I searched around and I happened to find Cambridge Credit Counseling. I read good things about them and so I signed up with them. I had to let them know each credit card company that I owed money to. And then they made all the arrangements with the credit card companies with how much I would pay them back and what the interest rate would be. They were really good and very helpful, and their service did not cost that much. I took 5 years in the program but it was a great experience. I got all my debt paid off so I’m debt-free, and my credit score is very high so I have excellent credit now.

Cambridge Credit Counseling was recommended by my employee assistance program. I double-checked their ratings online and their reviews with the Better Business Bureau. They were non-profit so I knew that they weren’t doing this work to try to support people for money. All those factors come together and made me more comfortable working with them for debt alleviation.
The enrollment process was straightforward and easy. It was also easy to add another account. The initial person who set me up was very helpful and courteous. And the people who I talked to on the phone usually gave good answers and followed up. I really appreciated how clear the materials they emailed to me were and that there were monthly notifications about where I was with my balance, where it was going and how much I paid off. I felt like I was in the loop from a service perspective, which was valuable.
Cambridge's program helped speed up the time that my family has been able to pay off a lot of debt. The recession was a juggernaut. My husband and I had to use our credit card a lot more than we wanted to for essential expenses and the credit ballooned. It was nice to pay roughly the same amount of money that I was paying overall for all of our different debts but to have it go much further and faster in reducing and eliminating the debt. Our experience with Cambridge was beneficial. It was really embarrassing and horrible to be in debt, but that happens to all of us sometimes and you try to make things work. I'm grateful to have people who worked alongside us to get it done.

I looked online and found Cambridge as the best company that would suit my needs for the time that I needed them. Enrolling with Cambridge was easy and their service is a flat rate $35 service fee each a month. They handled the creditors personally and were one-on-one with each one of them. If I had anything to say, it's, “Mmmm.” I guess the middleman gotta get a cut too. But I didn’t negotiate anything. What happened was the creditors reduced the amount to a X amount of dollar. Each creditor agreed, “Okay, we’ll take 300 bucks this month instead of the minimum 450.” And then, they added everything up and said, “Okay. Every month, give us $700 and that’s it. You’re good, don’t worry about it. No questions. Pay 700 and you’re good.”
Then, I also rarely ever had to communicate with anyone. Except time to time, I would get an email saying to submit recent bills then I would fax those recent statements over. It was cut and dried, “Pay this X amount on the 10th of every month and go about your day.” So, it was really simple. “Here’s your debt,” say, 25,000, “here’s your 10 credit cards, pay this amount on the 10th. Knock it out, you’d be debt-free, less than five years.” “Okay, all right. Thank you.”
There were a few times where I had questions and concerns like when my check wasn’t gonna come in right on time, and they were like, “Okay. If you need to wait a couple of extra days, that’s fine.” As long as they knew ahead of time, everything was fine and I didn’t have any issues. It was direct withdrawal so I didn't see it and I didn’t miss it. Right now, I already completed the course and it was not difficult. Sometimes, one hates to have to use this type of service, but when the service makes the transaction so easily and seamlessly to where they take the monthly income and outgoing debt in consideration and then come up with a reasonable number, it makes it easy.

I wanted to consolidate my credit cards, get the interest rates down, and get them all paid off. I read about Cambridge online and they had really good reviews. Their fees were low and they seemed reputable. A lot of the other companies that I looked at were trying to sell something. Instead of help, they wanted to give a loan. They wanted us to borrow money from them. But Cambridge just wanted to help us get out of that. So, I called them and I said I was interested in paying off my credit cards. I was barely paying over the minimum and I didn’t wanna pay all the interest. They asked what accounts that I had and what the totals were. They then contacted my creditors for me on my behalf, with my permission, and negotiated interest rates.
Going through the process was easy and Cambridge set everything up. They deducted the payment automatically every single month. Everything was one lump sum and then they paid out of that lump sum. They individually disbursed the money to the creditors. Every once in a while, they would send me emails to do financial check-up and they wanted to do phone conversations about healthy budgets and healthy spending. I never utilized those services, but they’d be very helpful.
The service cost was also well worth it. In the end, I possibly could have called my creditors myself and negotiated my interest rates on my own and save myself a monthly fee and have the $700 something in fees, which honestly, it’s not that bad compared to the interest I would’ve paid had I not done it. I could have maybe possible saved myself $800, but I really have zero complaints about the fees to the result that they got me, with the low interest rates. It was honestly worth it. Cambridge was easy to deal with and their people were professional. If I had questions, they were prompt in returning my calls. Then, the whole process was supposed to take 4 years, but I ended up upping my payment, and I got it done in about three. I shaved about a year off and I am done. Now, it’s really nice having that money back in my pocket every month.

At the time I was talking to one of my credit cards, Capital One, they referred me and gave Cambridge's number. Cambridge was the first one I called and I figured being that Capital One recommended them then they would be a legit company. The Cambridge people were very good and everybody I talked to was very helpful. They sent me things many times if I wanted to check on something and then I would get a return call, and I didn't feel I needed to 'cause I would call them periodically and talk to them. So, being in the program, I paid a monthly payment then they got in contact with my creditors and they handled everything. I just paid them one monthly payment, which automatically came out of my account, and then they took care of it. So, it has worked for me.
One time, on one of my accounts that I had been paying on for almost 3 years, I noticed that the interest wasn't going down like the other ones were. So, I called Cambridge back and they said another thing off, and then that company dropped the interest down by 12%. I wondered why it didn't happen at first, but I don't think it was Cambridge's fault.
At present, I'm done with Cambridge and it really worked out well for me now that everything is all paid off. It also didn't hurt me at all to go through the program. I knew that if I were to just pay them myself, I'd probably still be paying them. I would recommend Cambridge to a friend as well. If you got the income, which I fortunately did, to where you can have it and do it automatically like I did, although I'm not the same with all of their clients, then that way you don't have to worry about it. The money's coming out, and that was it. It's periodic. I am here in Oregon and I was skeptical at first. But Cambridge was very good and every month, they sent me a monthly statement with everything on there and what they were paying. So, they were good to me.

Somebody gave me Cambridge's number to get help and it was the first number I was given. The Cambridge counselors were all friendly and nice and I went with them. I felt very comfortable from the very beginning. They sent me a paper to fill out every month to see if I was coming along better or how things were going. I filled out the paper and mailed it back in. They also gave a number to call if I needed any help at all.
I had them help me pay off a couple of bills because the companies took my interest up so high that I couldn't handle it. I only had one payment to make to Cambridge and they took care of 3 or 4 bills so I didn't have to worry. They automatically took my payment out of my bank every month, and with a lower rate of interest, almost none. But I had to pay them a fee and $20 is all I paid them every month. Now, all those bills I turned in to them are paid, I also paid off Cambridge, and I was very satisfied. Cambridge paid off my debts, which I would’ve never got paid off. They made me feel good. I had some help, and I got the help that I needed. So if someone would ask me, I would tell go with Cambridge as well.

My husband and I were listening to an AM radio at night and I always heard this guy who was a local in Cleveland. I trusted the guy because I had listened to him for a long time. He mentioned debt relief with Cambridge so many times that I decided to do it because I couldn’t do it by myself because the interest rates were getting way too high. I had $70,000 debt and I couldn't even believe I had that much to pay off. I made a mistake of letting somebody else use my credit cards so I learned a lot.
While with Cambridge, I didn’t really work with a counselor although there was a counselor named Brian back in February 2015. I talked to him when I signed up. Other than that, nobody checked on me to see how much spending was coming or what I was doing. I just knew that if I didn’t do this, I would never do it. Once in a while, I would call them like when I called to change because I couldn’t pay on such and such date my payment was due and that I would do it before the five days. I would always get so many different people. They were very nice every time I talked to them. A couple of times when I had to change my payments because I was out of work for a while, they were a little strict. They would tell me that this would change my interest rates. That worried me but they were good. All of it was a really good experience.
The cost of Cambridge was very fair. And just them helping in getting the interest rate down was very great too. Just the relief to be out of debt has impacted my life. I never thought I could get out of debt that fast for that amount of money. It came in perfect timing because I ended up having a brain aneurysm last month. I didn’t have to worry about a payment coming up. I’m since retiring now from my company that I’ve been with for 34 years and I’m able to do that because I’m not in debt anymore. I know too that I can never have a credit card ever again. I know I will never get one again because I know how quickly it is to get in debt. I won’t step in certain stores that did not lower the interest either. JCPenney was at zero percent interest. But as far as the other companies that wouldn’t go below 10 to at least 7 to help people pay off their debt, I will not honor those stores anymore.
The only thing with Cambridge is they don’t really advertise. I only heard about it on a radio talk show. I’m a flight attendant and I have a lot of friends that are in debt. When I mentioned Cambridge to my friends, they were like, “Who are they?” Cambridge is really a reputable company and I know that. But you’re leery at first because you’re afraid that you’re gonna get duped. But I just knew I had no choice because my credit cards were maxed and I had nowhere to go. Cambridge should advertise better.

Cambridge's service was excellent. They really helped me out. I had large credit card bills that I couldn't pay and I decided to work on those with Cambridge seeing that the company was recommended by the lady who does a lot of credit counseling on TV. I enrolled, went through an easy process and then they provided debt consolidation service. It was all seamless. The payment was just deducted from my checking account. I got enrolled around five years ago, and for a few months now, I have completed the program. I am immeasurably relieved that we got rid of those debts. I would absolutely recommend Cambridge.

Wells Fargo allowed somebody to access into my account. Somebody put money in, then took money out, and the woman who was assigned to do the research said that it came from some banking associated that nobody has ever heard of. She sent it right back, and she didn't do her job. So every time they open another investigation they have not been very satisfactory. Cambridge is a fabulous service. The service charge I pay is $7 a month, and I get so much for that: the customer service, responsiveness, support, willingness of anyone and everyone to speak to you about your goals and progress, and the constant request that if you would like more help, you can certainly have it. They don't force you to take it, but it is always available. It’s a great place, too. I like the whole thing about Cambridge -- everything appealed to me. I would recommend Cambridge to anyone.

The company responded to my complaint which means that they actually pay attention to the complaints and look into them to determine how to resolve them if possible. Hopefully the rest of my debt resolution goes more smoothly. This is truly a worthwhile organization and like any business there are hiccups. Most all of the reviews that I have read have been really good. I would more than likely use them again if needed as they are not for profit so in general you will get a more fiduciary experience.

I set up my account with Tina **. She did an awesome job of explaining the process and I felt greatly relieved at that time. Tina ** told me that I could call her at anytime if I had any problems. I did have a problem with one creditor and was told to contact the creditor and make sure the address was correct which I did. The creditor had left off my apt #. Had it corrected and called Tina **'s number and left her a message that it was corrected and Cambridge could contact them. Never got a response, so I called again and left another message on her voicemail.
Fast forward a month later, still getting calls from the creditor and Cambridge hadn't contacted them. Called Tina ** and she finally called me back. She told me that I needed account services and transferred me. The girl that answered (didn't get her name) listened to what I had to say about the issues. Needed to update my address, so I was waiting to see if she was ready and she asked me if I was going to update it. I explained I was waiting for her to be ready. Then later, she misspoke the numbers and when I corrected her, she said that she had said it correctly, when I replied that I wasn't going to argue about it then she started arguing about whether she was arguing. It just wasn't very pleasant. I may have been short as I was unhappy with the lack of response from the get go however I am sure that she has had a lot worse conversations.
The main issue is that customer service rep didn't bother to hang up the phone before she started ** about the phone call to her co-worker. Totally unprofessional. Also the people that set up the initial accounts should tell us that we will need to contact account services and not them. I had specifically asked Tina ** if I called her or another number once the account was set up and she had told me I could call her anytime. Had I known who to contact, I would not still be dealing with a creditor that should have been contacted by Cambridge before now.
Overall, due to the conversation today with that customer service rep, I have lost a lot of respect for your company. I go to you for help and get flack. People are already stressed when deeply in debt and your reps should be trained to deal with people that are unhappy. If you listen to the phone call, you will see that I wasn't rude or nasty, just upset.

Our main goal at Cambridge is to provide excellent customer service in assisting our clients with their accounts, unfortunately, this did not happen on your account and we truly apologize. We will strive to do better and ensure that this never happens again. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to assisting you better in the future.

Enrolling with Cambridge was easy and I didn't have to do a lot of paperwork. I interacted very well with my counselor. In the beginning, I was on the phone every five minutes asking questions and all kinds of things. Originally, I worked with Anthony in California. But then, they switched me to Cambridge in Boston. When I called them and asked questions, they answered too.
One thing I didn’t understand at the beginning was that they were going to call all my creditors. I ended up calling them all, trying to set up dates for payment. That time, everybody was cooperative except there were a couple of companies that didn’t cooperate. Sometimes I had misunderstood that I was the one that had to call and get the dates straightened out. That's when they told me I wasn't supposed to do that. Cambridge's rep then asked me what I had arranged and then he went to the two companies that were giving me trouble.
Cambridge did a good job working with me on my payment plan. They set up a date when everything would out of my checking account and they made the payments for the next month. It was just good timing ‘cause that’s when I got my checking. My Social security came in at the end of the month too, so it all worked out well.
However, I was paying and still getting educational. Cambridge was charging me $50 for that and I really didn’t feel as though after a certain period of time, I got anything at all for my money. Still, everything else was okay. Working with them completely changed everything for me. During that period of time I was with Cambridge, I learned how to manage my money, take care of myself and budget.

I reached out to Cambridge because we had a couple of our credit cards and a couple of credit lines that had been sent to collections. I was a stay-at-home mom and we weren't making enough money to pay them. I kinda looked at something that would help and Cambridge was one of the first ones that popped up. I reached out to them and it sounded like a good plan, and it was. The enrollment was really quick and pretty pain-free. They took all my bills, looked into my account, put it all into one payment and made the payment through them. They provided help to make it so that this doesn't happen again and ways that I can be saving money. The payment was high but it would have been higher paying separate individual bills through our own.
In the beginning, I spoke with them a lot with concerns about everything. I was nervous and I didn't know what I was doing that I probably asked my rep questions that I probably should have asked somebody else. But he always helped and took care of me. He was always available when I had questions especially towards the end when I was finishing up. I also enjoyed not being pestered so much. They kinda backed off a little and just let us reach out if we needed them. Now, we're out of debt for whatever we had debt at that time and we were able to build our credit and buy a house. We make better decisions now with credit cards. We have one major credit card because we have a house and we need it for backup. But other than that, we try to save our money and pay cash or nothing.

I had too many bills and it was like I couldn’t get them paid down because I was just paying the minimum amount each month and I wasn't getting anywhere. I had a friend that worked with Cambridge years ago and she told me about them. She was very pleased ‘cause she went with them twice so I thought to give it a shot. They took all the bills that I wanted them to and they called all the people. They gave me a flat rate that they were gonna take outta my account every month.
The only problem that I had was I had one bill that they said took them a while to negotiate. But in the meantime, I was getting late charges and the creditor was still sending me threatening notes so I tried to talk to them personally about it. Then I called Cambridge and they told me to send the creditor a letter. It was finally resolved but after many months. For the rest, it was a relief not to have to take care of every one of these guys every month and the interest being so high. The program went very smoothly. I thought once you go to credit counseling, your credit’s screwed. You might get the bills paid off, but you can’t ever use a charge card again so I did keep two bills that I am still paying on, and I use them every month. But other than that, everybody’s paid off.

Cambridge really helped me a lot to consolidate everything, take the pressure off me and put things in perspective as far as getting my debt paid off. I was in depression about the debt that I had and I couldn’t afford to pay for it when they retired me. I was on a fixed income. Cambridge was just exactly like it was told to me that it’ll come a time when I’ll see my debt go down and down and down, and then at the end of it, I will have relief. I went with Cambridge to help me through this process because of word-of-mouth. I also went on the website and read all that was going on with the company and how they conduct everything. Part of it was also talking to the representative ensuring me that I will be able to get relief, and it wasn’t outrageously costly. I trust in the sense that my grandmother always said, “You go with your intuition and you trust your first thought.”
I completed the program and as far as enrolling, it was not complicated. It was very simple. In the beginning, my coach led me along the way. They kept in contact with me and let me know that if I had any questions or anything, to contact them. And I would just be questioning once every few months to find out where I was at. They were there every step of the way, and that’s the best thing I loved about it. They didn’t leave me hanging. Cambridge made my life a whole lot at ease. It gave me a peace of mind that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I was very blessed to be able to not have to worry about debt 'cause life changes for people within a blink of an eye. You could be riding high on sunshine and rainbows and the next thing you know, here comes the storm, tornadoes, and earthquake. And it was like I felt the floor was taken from up under my feet. Now I can walk on the floor sturdy and I can keep going. It is such a relief.

They asked me what bills I'm trying to pay off, and they explained to me the process, and how it's going to work and how many years it's going to take me with the amount that I'm paying every month. I completed the process and I no longer owe anything. I'm back on track with my bills. I even omitted all that credit cards. I only have one card, and I maintain that card with caution. Completing the program has made me feel absolutely wonderful. I got a certificate of completion. And I maintain my bills much better now. The cost was great too. I get my statement every month. They put me onto a counselor who I could talk to, to show how to maintain my bills, my credit card, and everything. So it was great. I had no problem. After 2 years working with them and me turning my life around, increasing my income by over 50 percent, paying off both our cars and our house, working on my credit score, no late payments, no new credit purchases, doing everything I could for 2 years and not one bad mark, I thought it would be time to work with them and speed the process up by adding more more to my monthly payments. I called, sent emails, no reply. Then last month I get a 30 day late payment from one of the account they are paying on my credit report and it drops 60 points, and I think a late payment stays on your report for 3 years. I hope only 3, I heard 7 years also. I am checking tomorrow to find out.
I have been calling them and sending emails for weeks with no response to my emails at all, nothing. When I call a lady answers and says she will check into it and have them call, be right back. They never call back, 3 weeks now. And it was a 30 day late payment. So 30 days and another 3 weeks makes 51 days. They knew the payment was late and have not tried to contact me at all. But they still take their money out of my account. Terrible company. Run, run, run, far away. Don't responded to their emails or their promises over the phone because when you need them they won't respond either...

First, you did not send us any emails that went unanswered for three weeks. Our records indicate that you called us on June 21 and that you sent us three emails on June 27, to which we immediately replied. These emails and your review were submitted 6 days after your initial call, which was to inform us that you had received a late mark from one of your creditors.
In response to that information, we had advised you that we would research the account and call back once that work was completed. (Cambridge does not receive monthly statements from our clients’ creditors, so we rely on clients like you to keep us abreast of any unusual developments, just as you had done.) Though we had reached out to the creditor involved, the issue had not been resolved within the 6 days that transpired between your initial call and subsequent emails.
Cambridge’s client services manager has emailed you, but you haven’t replied to her messages. Instead, you’ve sent us two additional emails complaining about the original issue, alleging falsely that we haven’t responded to you. This is simply untrue. In fact, we completed our research on your account and rectified the problem. When we tried to inform you of this, you did not respond.
Last year, you missed a payment. This caused your account to fall behind, but not a full 30 days behind. In June, it finally went over the 30-day mark, which we discovered when we sent the creditor what was supposed to be the final payment needed to pay off the account. Your creditor also performed a full review of your account and credited you a significant amount of money. They also “re-aged” the account, bringing it current.
While we completely respect the effort and determination you’ve put into improving your credit, there was nothing Cambridge could have done to avert the damage done by the payment you missed. Our work in the aftermath of that missed payment did take longer than the 6 days that elapsed between your messages, but your patience was needed for us to complete our work on your behalf, which we are pleased to report was successful.

I wanted to consolidate my debts and get rid of one of my credit cards. After reading a few reviews which said that Cambridge was good, I enrolled in their program. The rep told me Cambridge could help me cut down my debt and that it'll show in my credit report that I'm paid off. She said she can lower my monthly payment and can get it where I would pay less over the course of the year. But I ended up paying $5,000, double of what I owed which was $3,000. I could've settled with GE for $2,200 or less. All in all, it was a horrible experience. I thought I would be paying less but I paid more over the course of time. I wanted to cancel it but I was in a contract that I didn't know of. I wasn't happy with my experience and I wouldn't recommend Cambridge to anyone.

Dieresha, as you know, Cambridge Credit Counseling is not a debt settlement company. The debt management program we offer was explained to you and a detailed Service Agreement was provided in writing before you chose to join our Debt Management Program, or DMP. Our Debt Management Plan Summary, provided to you before your first DMP payment, disclosed the amount that would be repaid throughout your tenure on the program. You successfully completed your debt management program and paid off your debt in a timely manner. We were happy to assist you in that effort, facilitating lower interest rates that allowed you to pay much less over time than you would have paid on your own.
After reviewing your account notes, we saw that you contacted us twice regarding the issue referenced in this review. Again, as our phone and file records clearly indicate, the details of your DMP were thoroughly explained to you. You were advised on several occasions that you could cancel your DMP at any time without penalty, and we provided instructions on how to do so. (Our program is voluntary and a consumer can cancel the program at any time by requesting it in writing through mail, fax, or email, without owing Cambridge any money.) This information was provided to you in July 2015 and again in September 2017.
If you were truly unhappy with our services, you could have canceled at any time, yet you chose to remain on the program and then completed it successfully. You’ve claimed that you paid more over time than you would have if you had settled your debts, which is likely true. (Debt settlement companies charge very high fees and there are often significant tax liabilities on the amount forgiven, so true “savings” through a for-profit settlement company are hard to achieve.)Beyond that fact, settling your debt would have negatively affected your credit report and credit standing.
Before you joined Cambridge’s debt management program you were paying approximately 22.99% in interest. Through our program, that rate was reduced to an average of just 15%. This allowed you to repay your debt safely and responsibly, with your creditor's approval and without the threat of lawsuits. That is why debt management plans are popular and successful – they allow clients to experience peace of mind and save money.

I travel a lot for work and I was making regular payments to credit cards. And because I wasn’t home to look at the bills, I got myself into a situation. I wasn’t paying them on the right days so the amount started to get out of control, and I wanted to get away from all the credit card debts that I had. I did some internet research and came up with Cambridge Credit Counseling. I had found some good recommendations online, and I was comfortable that they were a safe and reliable resource. The enrollment process was very simple.
Cambridge has a great program. They were very clear, they communicated really well, I got regular messages and emails, they provided regular feedback, they checked in to see how other things were going, and they offered additional resources. And at the end, they came back to see if there was anything that they could do for help. So, it’s very thorough. The program helped me get out of that situation that I managed to get myself in. There were very much emphasis on education, not that I didn’t already understand what I had done wrong. So, they made sure to help you understand how to avoid the pitfalls in the future.
I have completed the process at this point. Cambridge did great by way of explaining and discussing the process with me and they were very reassuring with what would be a good resource and good help. They let me know everything that was happening all the way through. There weren’t any negative aspects to the program. It was all really good. I would recommend Cambridge to other people to use it because they were great. I hope I never have to use it again, but I had a good comfortable level with them.
As for the payment plan, I was set up with the auto pay deduction. They set it all up, told me what the amount was gonna be, when it was gonna come out, and it happened routinely at the same time. They would update when things changed with balances with the credit cards that I was covering like when things were paid off. Also, the cost was low. The savings on the credit card interest fees was huge. Cambridge was really helpful and easy to work with. Working with them helped me get out of the really sticky, ugly situation. It would’ve been a lot harder for me to do on my own. I never had that problem before, so having somebody who did know how to navigate it was helpful.

I had a bunch of credit cards that was gonna take my whole life to pay off. I wanted to try and get out of them so I signed up for Cambridge Credit to help me through it. They set up a program to reduce the interest on a lot of my credit cards and got the payments down lower. Right now, they are taking the money out of my checking out and doing the payments for me. They did a lot for me and gave me a lot of different programs that I can get into to get discounts at different places. It made a big difference in the financial end of my life. In terms of working with their reps, I felt comfortable. They did everything and I didn't have to do anything. I just let them do what they had to do. Cambridge is a good place to do business with.

I had a 400-pound table fall on top of me and trapped me for 12 and a half hours. My leg was numb. I was in the hospital and I had all these hospital bills. The ambulance service in Tallahassee was like $400 and I had to go twice. Collectors call and harass you. They’re entitled to their money. I have no problem with that, but I just couldn’t do it. I wasn’t working. My son kept saying to send everybody $5 a month, but I couldn't do that.
I started out calling the Better Business Bureau and they referred me to Cambridge Credit Counseling. A lot of those other companies squash your bills but then they really don’t. They cut them in half. I could negotiate that and wouldn't need anybody else. Most of them charge a fortune too and they're not really legitimate. I called Cambridge with the mindset that I could say “no” if I didn't like them. But I thought they were wonderful.
I had a very easy enrollment process. There was a lady named Tina who was wonderful. At first, they sent me a thing saying it was gonna cost $40 or $50 a month. I called Tina back and I said that I couldn't do that. I might as well just the send the $50 every month to a bill collector. She said that was a mistake and they cut the cost down to $10 a month which was affordable. I thought it was very reasonable. $10 a month for peace of mind and not having harassing phone calls, I’d pay more for that.
My counselor was absolutely wonderful too. If I had any questions, I always asked for her and she answered. In fact, I've sent several people to her. Cambridge sent me a letter thanking me for referring people to them. There was only once where I called and the main person that answered the phone was kinda curt. But it could’ve been my demeanor, too. I completed the program with Cambridge and I highly recommend them.

I used Cambridge in the past and they did a good job. Their program is very useful if you’re trying to get your life back on track from debt. The enrollment process is easy as long as you know what you owe. To get the ball rolling, you either give them a call or an email and they will get in contact with you. The case counselor does all the hard work for you. I got to talk to them probably three times when it started and then, they sent me an email after I completed the program, which was two months ago.

They helped me out big time. They were very nice and very attentive. They got me down in a good amount of time, and out of debt. They didn't take too much money, so it was nice.
When I reached out, they responded very quickly, and they got right back to me, so I like that. They got the rate down pretty good for me, which if I had to pay the credit cards off, I’d still be paying them. I’d have never gotten out of debt. I’d have just been paying interest. Cambridge was very good. I just finished with them last summer, and I’m not as stressed as I used to be.

I was very comfortable working with the counselor and the customer support was awesome. With Cambridge, I watch my money better. I also watch what I buy and go for the needs more than the wants. Cambridge was a great group to work with. We were very happy with them. They were very helpful and easy to work with. We resolved about $55,000 worth of debt and I've recommended them to many people that I know. When I was looking for a program, a lot of my friends had gotten scammed into those, "Don't pay your bill. We'll settle it for 2 cents on the dollar," garbage. I used some of the information on the site of the National Federation of Credit Counselors. I used some of Dave Ramsey's and Clark Howard's information about how to pick good programs to work with. That's how I ended up zeroing in on Cambridge.
The recession had destroyed by husband's business and we had to sell our house that we loved. But we didn't get any of the money we should have had from the equity we had. We lost about 50% of the value of the house so it was a very tough period for us. Before the recession hit, my dad died and my mom went blind and had to move in with us. We had to fix their house up and sell it. We put all of that on the credit card. Before we fixed the house up, the realtor told us what their' house would be worth. But by the end of the year when we finished fixing it up, it was worth half of that. So there was no money to pay us for what we had laid out for them and my mom has needed all of it.
We ended up with this huge amount of credit debt. It was $65,000 worth. It was about $1,900 a month that we were paying on our own and the interest rates were over 20%. Some of them were 25%. It was horrible. I knew we owed these people the money but it was the interest that was killing us. Trying to keep up with it was just insane. Some of them Cambridge got down to 0%. Some of them they got down to 2 or 3%. We were looking at trying to pay it off on our own but it probably would have been 20 years if we've been able to do it.
Cambridge was a big help. The jobs that we ended up finding were only about half of what we had been making before but Cambridge has a financial hardship program, where they reduced the monthly fee for us in half which was very helpful. So it's normally $70 a month to do it through them but on the financial program, they got us paying $35 a month. We finished the program a couple of months ago and my husband is gonna be retiring next year. I have to keep working and we'll have to be careful. But at least he won't have to have to keep working. We also got rid of the mortgage. We live in a dusty, renovated mobile home on a cheap farm in Kentucky now instead of a golf course in South Carolina. But it's cost us a 10th of what it did to live where we used to live. We hope to not have to ever use the credit cards again.

Cambridge Credit Counseling was recommended by a family member who was trying to help us out of a touch situation. We had a lot of credit card debt, and they did it really simple and easy. They gave us good tools for a monthly budget, and they did all the legwork with the credit card companies. They had us set on a fixed and easy plan. It was tough to do monthly, but there weren’t any variables anymore, so it was just a debt plan, and it had an end date.
At one point, we had to call and see if we could get the monthly payment reduced because my wife switched jobs, and they were able to work with us on that. So, all in all, they made it a very easy transition into eventually getting out of that debt. We had one specific person at the beginning. But when we called and had questions, they were able to help us. It was all very easy to work with them, and we finished the program now. It was absolutely worth the cost. I’d definitely recommend Cambridge to anybody that I know going through the kind of times we were in.

I was in the credit card consolidation program for three years. I paid one fee and they negotiated on the lower payment. There was one lump sum that I paid to them and monthly, they repaid all of my creditors. I’m done now and I’ve definitely reduced my credit card debt so that was a plus. Everybody was real nice too. My son took off and left me with a lot of debt. Some of these were his bills because I co-signed for them. But I’m on social security and I draw a union pension. I figured if I paid one off, the other wouldn’t be done and charging more interest. So I feared my best bet was to try to do something where I can pay so much a month without leaving me enough money to buy groceries.
But Cambridge took it off my hands. They talked to me about what kind of money I got a month and how much I would be able to let them take. They checked with me to see how much I was having to pay out for my housing and my electric and water bills. They took all that into consideration in determining how much they could get out of my account to pay these other bills. Then they take so much out of my check a month to pay on the bill and and that made life easier on me. Once a month, I knew the money had to come out and I could always take it off my checkbook when I got my checks so I knew that money was there in the account with them.
Cambridge took a lot of weight off of me because I’m getting older and I was being pulled right and left. They kept the creditors from driving me nuts. I was getting calls and some of these business that were calling me, I didn't even remember ever doing business with them. That’s how bad it was. At this point, I had gotten most of the debt paid off. With Cambridge getting the money out, paying it and then sending me the thing showing that they paid it, that works for me. They sent me a thing showing me how much I owed and how much they paid on it. And each time, it would definitely show that they had been taking it off until there was nothing left. They even showed me how much was still left on for each time that they do it.

I owed about $8,000 on five different things and Cambridge paid them off in three and a half years. I paid them $200 a month and they took the interest off completely. They also taught me how to pay some off on my own and how much money I should put away every month for myself. The enrollment process was nice too, because it was only a $35 fee and that was it. It wasn't a rip-off and they kept sending letters every couple of months with questions on this or that, if you wanna add more or if there's any problem. If you call them, they're also right there. They have all your accounts in front of them and they answer any questions. They were really good. Everything was going smooth.

Congratulations, Edward, on completing our program! It's great that we were able to work with your creditors to get your interest rates so low. Our monthly fees are regulated by state laws and the debts that are brought onto the program, so they vary from consumer to consumer, but as a non-profit, we try to keep them as low as possible! Thank you very much for taking the time to tell us about your experience.

Dennis, my counselor at Cambridge Credit, was very persuasive and he talked me into something I didn't need. So I rushed to a judgment that I didn't need to make and it was a mistake. Then I found out that I didn't need counseling, but once when I was with Cambridge, I just proceeded on and continued with their services. I was with them for three years. I only had one issue with Cambridge throughout the time I was with them. Cambridge got me to lower my payments, but they did not optimize my credit score in any way and they had three years to do it. I wrote to the credit companies myself in the last eight months and I boosted my score over 150 points on my own doing. I would have been better off not using Cambridge Credit.

First, we would like to congratulate you for completing the payoff of your accounts through our debt management plan. That kind of relief, and our counseling, are the focus of our business. We are not now, nor have we ever been, a credit repair company.
Your program was scheduled for an approximate 38-month repayment term, and our records show that you paid off your $17,750.00 debt within just 30 payments! That is quite an accomplishment and we are so happy for you.
All Cambridge calls are recorded. Upon reviewing the calls between you and your counselor (Tim, we don't employ anyone named Dennis), we discovered that he did explain the program to you thoroughly. In the call between you and Tim in September 2016, you asked him if Cambridge is a credit repair organization and how the program would affect your credit. Tim explained that we, indeed, are NOT a credit repair agency and that your credit would potentially be affected when your creditors closed your accounts. Again, the recorded calls indicate clearly that Tim explained the program fully. Furthermore, all of the details of how your debt management plan would work, including account and budget details, were provided to you in writing before you signed your contract and before you made your first payment.
We apologize if there was any confusion, but Cambridge clearly fulfilled the obligations and responsibilities detailed in the contract that you chose to sign. We made no claim that we would be able to increase your credit score, although that frequently happens for many of our clients as they continue to make payments through our program.

I was in debt and since I dealt with Cambridge Credit Counseling before, I went with them again. Initially, I spoke to one person from Freedom but they were so far-fetched and I didn't feel right with them. And the weird part was, I was trying to call Cambridge at the time but I got their number. Eventually, I googled it some more and got the appropriate number. When I called Cambridge, I spoke to a gentleman and I was impressed with the way he spoke to me. He handled it well and didn't make me feel like I was a loser in getting myself into debt. Then, I put all all my credit cards that I wanted to consolidate together and put it through. He examined it, made a decision, and we spoke about it. Then we went ahead and did the program.
They must have went through all my cards, wrote them, and they all agreed. They came up with a figure and I was good with it. All in all, Cambridge helped me get rid of my debt and this time, I've learned my lesson. I will not get myself into that again. Cambridge's service is a great thing and I recommended a girlfriend of mine to them. Her husband is in it now and I have one more person that's gonna be giving them a call to get some debts cleared out. I want people that really need to get themselves out of debt to call Cambridge. Other places try to bring down the debt to a price and you have to pay that right there and then. But that's crazy. If I could have done that, then I would have done that and I could have spoken to the card company myself. And with Cambridge, they managed to get a deal with no interest and cleared it up.

Cambridge Credit Counseling Corp was very helpful and I had a good experience with them. I got divorced and my business was having problems back at that time and had a lot of credit card debt. I didn’t know how I was gonna get out from under it. I found Cambridge and they were able to put a plan together for me and helped me resolve all my financial problems.
We did a good bit of one-on-one on the phone as I was getting set up as well as by email. I gave them a list of all of my outstanding obligations and provided them with budget information about what I was doing currently, budget-wise, what my assets were, and what my liabilities were at the time for them to get a good picture of what they needed to help me manage.
Once it was set up they all ran in the background which was great for me. They reached out with opportunities for me to do more credit counseling and gave me an opportunity to meet with someone on the phone and over my situation annually. But everything was going so smoothly so I didn’t feel the need for that. They have put me on a four-year program and I recently completed it. I got a call from them January this year and they said that we were done which was a huge relief.
Getting in credit card debt feels like scrambling out of a pit that I can never get out of and part of that is due to the high interest that I was paying every month. Cambridge was able to advocate for me to the credit card companies that I am on a plan. They negotiated with the credit card companies to get me hugely reduced interest rates on the promise that I would pay everything off. That made it possible for them then to manage my monthly payments to get it all resolved.

I love Cambridge. They did all the work. All I had to give was the commitment of money and we got it all worked out. The rep wanted to know how much I made and where I was working so we could make a plan and we broke down a budget analysis. We were talking about it and right there on the spot, he told me he would see how much the rate would be, how much I could afford and that I qualified. It was great because I started out with a little money but not much. The only thing I feel bad about was that they would send financial organizers and I would get in because I was working two full-time jobs. I finally got to confirm that my debt was paid and I was definitely excited. In fact, I was surprised when I got the call wanting to talk about my last payment. I thought there had to be some mistakes. I thought it was gonna be longer.
My seven cards were taken care of and they got a reduction. I went from about $12,000 to a zero balance in four and a half years. We knew it was gonna be four years, which was not a big deal, and they were right on the money. They did their job, even above and beyond. They were sending me the financial statements and something to fill out. So even though I wasn’t present in the situation, they were the best. It also kinda happened when I had a fender bender. I had to get another car and bring all my extra expenses. I also happened to get unemployed quickly after. So this happened all chronologically the way it was supposed to. It was perfect. When I had my debt paid off, I went and told my friends. Everything that I did with Cambridge was on point and I'm grateful.

I was living in Cape Coral, Florida. I had no job but I had lots of debt. So I talked to my Father. I told Him I needed help. I didn't know where to go to get it because I didn't have the money to take care of what I was doing. I had never heard this Cambridge advertisement before but as I was driving, I wrote the number down. I called them and this man answered. We talked and I told him what was going on. He sent me information on what they could do and what the payment would be, and it fit in with what I could do in paying it all back. It was perfect. It took me four years but the interest rates in all of the loans were so high that I was never gonna get it down.
Cambridge went in and got all my interest rates down to almost nothing, and I got it paid off. It was just like that. It was wonderful. Then when I caught myself in the situation again, I went back to Cambridge and they said, “Okay, no problem.” He didn't say, “Oh what the heck are you doing? We’re trying to get you out of debt and here you are, doing what you do.” There was nothing like that. They were wonderful. They were very personable, kind and helpful. I’ve used them three times and they're amazing. I recommend them to everybody. My nephew and his wife got into a big mess and I told them to call Cambridge. They've since split up but the wife said Cambridge was not nice enough. I don't know what the deal is but for me, they're the top of the block.
The very first credit counselor I dealt with never tried to talk down to me because I was in debt. There are a lot of circumstances out there that get you into something that you didn't think would ever get you into but you did. But that doesn't mean that it’s bad unless you robbed a bank or killed somebody. A lot of banks have this high-and-mighty attitude. But these people at Cambridge are down to earth. They’ve been very kind to me. This guy built me up. He made me feel like they could do something for me and I liked that. He spoke hope.
They took all my information as far as what cards I wanted to put on there. I had Dillard’s, a Macy’s and Kohl’s, and the interest rates on those were through the roof. I was getting to a point in my life where I didn't want debt anymore. So I just turned them in to Cambridge. When they got back with me, they said they got my Macy's down to 8%, the Dillard's down to 6% and another at 10%, which was much lesser than what they were charging. I was paying $200 a month before. But now, I’m paying $98 and I’ll have the debt paid off in about three years. In that $98, Cambridge takes their little fee, which is not that much, and I also don't have to deal with those people. I would get a statement every month for each one of those accounts and if I wanna pay extra, I can send Cambridge a check. That’s another thing too. If I wanna pay it off early, there’s not a penalty.

Before making the decision to use Cambridge Credit Counseling, I researched a bit and found that they were the best. They were really good to work with. They were very helpful through the whole process and made getting back on track very easy. They checked in regularly and made sure that things were going well with the program. They were able to help me pay off all the debts that I had. They worked with a couple of the credit cards to lower the rates and consolidated it into a single payment to them.
The payment plan they set me up with was pretty easy to achieve every month and it worked really well. Plus, the cost of their service seemed fair. Part of the payment each month went to them, but the savings I made with the interest rate change allowed an offset and made things really smooth. Now that I'm done with the program, I'm doing a bit better in managing my budget every month and not allowing myself to get in as deeply into the credit issues that I had before. It helped me make sure that I'm not spending more than I am able to pay off in a month. Cambridge did a great job for me and I had a good experience with them.

Hello, Donald! We're very happy to hear about your experience with our program. Budgeting is the cornerstone to financial wellness, and we hope that you continue with that process!
Our monthly fee is minimal. We calculate it based on a combination of the debts you're bringing onto our program and your state's regulations for debt management programs. We're glad that you found them fair as we try to keep them as low as possible in each state as we are a 501(c)3 not for profit organization. We make sure that your estimated payment on our program is always lower than what you were paying before our interest rate reductions. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, and please call us if we can assist you further.

We wanted to consolidate some credit card debts and have somebody to go in and negotiate rates. A colleague of mine had used Cambridge Credit Counseling in the past and I asked him about it, which was how I got the referral. He had just finished his program and talked very highly of it. We thought that Cambridge was our best option and it turned out to be great. Then, my wife and I met with an adviser at Cambridge and got the program going. They asked us to check questions like what our goals were and what we wanted to do.
Then they tailored the program for what we needed at the time and did all the legwork. They contacted the credit card companies, negotiated the lower rates and get it down to 0% to save some interest. We are done with the program and it had been great. The counselor that we met with was awesome. He didn't pressure us to do anything or force us into anything. He even made sense of all the stuff. They also had a lot of nice resources. Budgeting and trying to get a monthly budget is hard to do with five people in the house, but we tried to do the best we could. We adapted to it and cut back on some things. We were motivated to get the program done.
The payment plan was relatively easy. I was always paying on the cards and never getting anywhere because of the interest. They consolidated that into one payment. I knew what the payment was and it was consistent every month. I would totally refer Cambridge to others. I would give others the same advice as my colleague. It's gonna take a little while, but it's one payment. You know what it is and then you're done.

I had trouble finding a way to get a consolidation loan to try and pay off some of our high-interest credit cards so I reached out to Cambridge Credit Counseling. They were the ones that contacted me first so I went with them. The enrollment process was fairly quick and easy. We did it online and we were able to DocuSign things online, and I had a couple phone calls. It was very pleasant dealing with the credit counselor who was very knowledgeable and friendly. The payment plan was set up in such a way that the payment was a monthly draft taken out of my account. Then they paid the creditors themselves directly.
Cambridge was able to get lower interest rates with monthly payments and consolidate four of our credit cards. With their program, we got the four high-interest credit cards paid off within the time frame that they were supposed to be paid and at a lower interest rate. I have three kids in college, so that was very helpful. At this point, the process has been completed. Apart from that, the ongoing customer support that we receive from Cambridge is very interesting. They've sent quite a few different, helpful articles to work on our finances.

I have three credit cards and I wanted to have my bills consolidated and have one credit card bill every month. It would be easier for me that my bills would be organized versus having three statements coming at me every month. So, I sought the services of Cambridge Credit Counseling and went with them six years ago. I signed up with them and everything was straightforward with the enrollment process.
Everything was great with the service and the program that Cambridge provided for me. There were different counselors when I called and it was perfect dealing with them. They explained everything thoroughly to me and answered all of my questions. For my payment plan, they automatically withdrew money from my account. I called often to see the total remaining balance and they provided that quickly. The ongoing customer support that I got was perfect too. Also, the cost was no problem. I was very comfortable in working with Cambridge and I’ve never had any problems with them ever. They were straightforward and I never thought that they were lying or manipulating.
At this point, I’m good and much better. By working with them, I was able to get out of debt. I’m out of debt now, but I didn’t have any credit cards for a while and I had to pay an amount every month no matter what. So, even if I had an emergency, there was nothing I could do and I still had to pay that. It was hard to go through the program, but I did it and that was a great accomplishment. I’m grateful that it’s over. Nevertheless, Cambridge's program is a nice way to consolidate various credit cards and it helps you to pay off your cards faster.

I had some debt that I wanted to find a way to pay and not file bankruptcy. The person I talked to from Cambridge was really nice. We went over what I would pay, although that changed and it was screwed up in the beginning. There was a counselor named Dennis and I only talked to him one time. After that, every time I called, I got somebody different. I could never get a straight answer out of anybody ‘cause I tried to get phone numbers to call my creditors since I wasn't getting any kind of balance left. I did get a few numbers, but one number wasn't the right one at all. Instead of paying what I owed, Cambridge would overpay and then it was up to me to try to get the money that was overpaid. They should send their clients a balance and show what they're paying. Nonetheless, I've paid everything off and I'm completely done.

As far as setting up a payment plan, they lowered my interest rate and my minimum payment rate. The program kept me in tune with what I had to pay out each month. At this point, I have paid off my credit card debt. I only had to talk with my credit counselor for a few things that I had to change. People at Cambridge were ready to help me. When I first called in, the rep was like, “You oughtta do this, this, and this.” I told him that I couldn't get any of them signed up except for two. He said, “You're fine. We'll take you on.” That was basically the conversation and it was awesome. As far as the enrollment process, it took about two months. When I called in for the counselors, they were awesome. They talked to me and they gave me some great advice on what to do and how to do things, and I took all those into consideration. They treated me really well.
At first, I started having difficulties. I was tackling a car payment plus the payment, but I was able to do it and keep my finances right where I needed it to be. The educational part of the program was awesome, while the other part was how they managed all the accounts that I had and was able to reduce all that amount of money I was gonna pay out to affordable monthly one payment thing. The goal was four years, but it took about three and a half. I've completed the program and Cambridge sent the statement that I owed nothing. They are freaking amazing. If I could hug all of them, I would. They took a lot of stress off me and totally impacted my life as a whole. There would be no way I could've paid off all the debt and survive anything. I had great credit all my life until my teenage grandson came to live with me. Even though I get $2,000 a month, which is very good money and better than most retired persons, I hadn't counted on raising a grandson. He was in his teenage years and in high school. I was totally responsible for the boy without any help and he was at a very expensive age. His dad kinda helped me at first, but as time went by, it got less and less. I had to go to court over Fingerhut and I kept paying them as long as I could. I wanted to pay off all my bills and I knew that I needed the help of lower interest to pay off all the credit cards. Cambridge seemed nice, then it worked out.
The enrollment process was easy and I thought I could pay some of my bills off faster than I did. The service was wonderful and Cambridge was always good to me. There were a few times that I had to call and tell them I couldn’t make it for a certain month and they worked with me. They were kind to me and I had no problems with it. I just got the last credit paid off, which was Capital One. I paid Montgomery Ward off at about the same time and I got $35 back from them since I paid them too much. I hope those helped my credit.
The counselor I was working with changed during some of my time with them but it was fine. There was one that I really like working with. She went out of her way to help me and I appreciated it so much. I highly respect counsellors and I didn't have a bit of trouble from them. I was having some kind of issue and I got with the little girl. She answered all my questions. The payment started out over $200 and I really struggled until I got the payments down to $87. Then, it was much easier. My grandson finally left and joined the Marines. He went on to college through the Marines and I didn't have to help with that much.

We had too many outstanding credit cards and rather than use one and use another one until the other one gets built up a little, we wanted to get them all cancelled and pay it off. Signing up with Cambridge was okay. They took care of the dealings with the card companies and there were no difficulties there. They sent a statement each month of what was paid, how much they deducted, and how they disbursed it. However, they didn’t have anything to show what your starting balance was and that was something they could improve on. Rather than getting the statements in the mail from the card companies anyway, that could’ve saved all the extra mails and add those on to their monthly statements. They could add an extra column, like an Excel, or put the formula in there to give us those types of bills, and show us what the starting balance was, as well as the ending balance.
Towards the end of the program, we were keeping close track so we could make the last portion of the payment. For example, it was set-up to pay $100 a month, but then the last payment would be $65. We tried to call someone there and tell them to stop the payment as it was and we would pay the $65 on our own. But I got different stories on that – can, can’t do it and all that kind of stuff. Conveying with them what we were gonna do with what the last amount was was an issue. I don’t know if it was just newly-trained people or employees not familiar with what they can do. But Cambridge could keep working on educating their employees to what can be done and can’t be done because everyone was slow. One had to call and one had to make some changes. One time, I even got three different answers.
Cambridge also tried to do a lot of stuff electronically instead of having a phone call. For the younger tech-savvy people, that’s okay, but for us older folks, that’s hard. Maybe Cambridge has to think about who their customer is. Nevertheless, we paid off a bunch of our credit cards a year earlier. We got five years into the program, but we did it in only four. We never talked to the card companies themselves. We just talked with Cambridge and had them set it up on all the cards that they could. However, for some reason, there is one company that they can’t deal with, and that’s Bank of America. But Cambridge's interest rates were so low, lower than what you can get nowadays, so that really didn’t interfere. Somehow, we can hit that card on our own here.
The payment plan that we had was okay and working with Cambridge helped us get rid of those credit cards a lot quicker. Now we can use the money for paying off that other credit card, for Bank of America, and then we have a few extra bucks for us to do some things. I have problems because of Agent Orange and my legs are shot. I had to quit my job about the time we set this up, to help with the payments. But Cambridge made it easier for us. We knew what the amount would be to set up a budget to get going through every year. So, Cambridge helped us well. Perhaps they can also advertise in some ways how they can help folks if one of the members becomes disabled or have some medical problem or how they can work that through with cards that they owe on.
When Cambridge did their questioning with me at the beginning, they helped us out because I wasn’t able to work. So, that way, with a bit of disability I get, it went to pay enough of the cards. It went smoothly and we were able to take care of the necessities. Throughout the process, eventually, the amount we had to pay each month went down. So if we got a card paid off, then we could even keep that money or reapply it to the other cards, which was nice to help get the next one paid off quicker. Cambridge is a good program. You can quit if you don’t wanna do it, that kind of thing. But commit yourself to do it and follow it. They will take care of everything. They don’t charge you that much each month to do it. Basically, it’s all taken care of for you and if you just follow it, you should get a very good result out of it.

I built a house years ago, and we had some health issues and some of my financial bills went up. I wanted to consolidate them and pay them off, but I did not want to do this, “We can get you reduced payments on your accounts and reduced balances.” I wanted no part of that because I legitimately used the money, and I wanted to pay back what I legitimately used. I didn’t wanna say that I took out 20 grand and somebody settled it for me for 10. That was like stealing $10,000. I wanted to pay it off with the one month or the one payment as opposed to just keeping them out there.
I used another service and my account got transferred to Cambridge when they bought it out. In the beginning, Cambridge sent me emails and some regular snail mail correspondence. They let me know everything that was going on and that they’re taking it over. I talked to them a few times, and as I was going through every monthly payment, I would get ahold of them every once in a while. I wanted to see what my balances were as I was closing things out and find out what I could do and what I had to do. But every time I called them, I never had any issues with them at all.
I’m all done with the program, and I paid up what I had to pay off. I did not want my credit report affected, and Cambridge has you close your credit cards as closed by consumer, then it doesn’t affect your credit report once you pay it off. They put me in a position where I could very easily handle myself now. If I went into any issues or wanna do whatever and get to where I have too much at one time, I would just go with them. Then I can consolidate everything down in one bill, and they make the payments. I would recommend Cambridge and I would use them again.

I had some debts that I needed to take care of so I did some research. I found that Cambridge Credit was the best to go through a debt consolidation so I decided to go ahead and made an appointment with them. The rep made all the arrangements to it. He told me exactly how much money has been allocated to the different accounts that I was under the consolidation program. He emailed me all the information out and then I signed the document.
The enrollment was easy. I was able to do it in a couple of days, just as quickly as I was able to get back to him. There were two processes to the debts consolidation process. I went to a debt consolidation program with Cambridge Credit and then I had to clean up my credit so I went through another company and they did that.
Also, the counselor was very understanding. She said, "Don't think that you are unique and there are a lot of people that are out there in the same boat as you are". She also said that Cambridge has a plan and that in a couple of years, my credit will turn around. At that point, I thought it was a lot of bluff but looking back at it, I thought she was right on the mark.
The program was painless for me. They gave me an amount and I was okay with it. I knew I would have to consolidate my debts and have those debts paid off so I took the quickest route. I set up an automatic withdrawal out of my account and I made sure my account has plenty of money in it. They deducted the money out of my account every month and in two years, my debt was paid off. I made my last payment and I finished the program last month. All in all, I'm very satisfied. In fact, I gave Cambridge' numbers to one of my commanding officers because she went into some financial problems.

We had medical and credit card debts and Cambridge Credit Counseling provided us with consolidation. They went in and dealt with them all. The interest rate was dropped and we paid back our loans that way. We originally called Cambridge because we got married and after we got married, my wife ended up with cancer. So, it worked out that we jumped on the program when we did. We ended up doing the program separately and if we hadn’t, we would’ve been bankrupt because of the medical bills we had. We could always work a little more to make a little more when the hospital bill comes but the program lowered the payment a little bit and that alone made us get by.
The enrollment process was very easy and fairly simple. There were a lot of tough questions when they started asking about our monthly debt and a lot of times, they didn’t tell you exactly what you wanna hear, but they told you the truth. The counselor was very understanding, too. We were afraid of talking about these things but he put us at ease. And in the end, he had the answers.
They sat down and figured out our family budget, what we had, what was going out, and where was it going. They asked for all that upfront then based on that, they figured out the rates and what they could do with the agencies. Then they told us what they could do and what they couldn't do. It was up to us if we took it. They gave us a fixed period of time when the program was gonna be done and we got done a little bit early, but that was okay. We took any extra we had and that was where we wanted it to go.
All in all, Cambridge was wonderful. Even at the payoff, we paid a little more and they made sure that they had all the stuff documented. They did everything for us and all we did was tell them what we were doing and that we had extra going in. They said that the debt was gonna be paid off and that we were gonna have some checks coming to us because we overpaid. And we ended up getting checks back from the different creditors which was great. We completed the program and it worked out wonderfully. We’re very happy with it and couldn’t have asked for anything more. Now that we’re done, it’s a huge weight off our backs.

So, I went by my friend's experience and went with them too. In the beginning, I didn't know if I needed to get the information filed and their reps did some of that for me. I was really comfortable working with them. They were reliable, they gave me a timeline and they sent updates too. They sent little ways to stay out of debt through email. And if I had a question about anything, I would call. They were friendly and they didn't keep me on hold.
The payment plan that they set me up with was difficult in the beginning only because I was still using the credit cards. And then, I wasn't using them at all. I got used to just paying each month and not using them, and it turned out for the best. So far, I'm finished with their program and they got me out of debt from credit cards. Cambridge is a good company. I've already recommended some people to them.

I was out of work for quite a while and I needed to consolidate my debt. I tried to get things handled to save my credit. I went with Cambridge because of their Better Business Bureau rating and the rating from other consumers. From the first time that I called somebody from Cambridge, I was treated very warmly and kindly. There was no judgment about what had gone on in my life prior to. There were several times throughout that two-year period that I had to rearrange the auto debit on my payment and they were more than kind about making that happen for me via email or phone call.
And then, at the very end, when I was trying to wrap everything up with the last few payments, they just went way above and beyond to make sure that everything happened the way that it needed to, and even didn't charge me for the last month for their fee. They helped me get everything handled. The cost was also very reasonable. However, it would be better if they would let you know what you still owe, instead of just what they paid and more information about what's been paid off in full and what the results were on the website itself. Nevertheless, my experience with Cambridge was absolutely fantastic.

My experience with Cambridge has been great. I was with them for about three years. They got all my credit cards down with the interest. I made a lump sum payment and they divided it out to my creditors. I spoke to them the most at the beginning, and it was just great. I also didn't have to get those calls from the creditors anymore. I've already talked to many people about Cambridge.

I signed up with another company and they sold some of their files to Cambridge. The first company negotiated with my creditors, got the interest rate down considerably and then, when I went to Cambridge, it was all set in order. They continued what the other company was doing but I had to pay $59 a month for this company in California that’s supposed to help you change your way of thinking about credit cards. I talked to them twice a year which was a waste of money and it didn't help me at all.
Cambridge took the money out of my bank account and paid my credit cards. It was fine interacting with their counselors but when I got statements from my creditors, the balance always included the interest. They said they had to call and get the final payoff which was what my bill said. I was uncomfortable with that, but it worked out because sometimes, I would call a creditor and just pay off that one rather than go through Cambridge. Other times, I would send in a money order to apply to a certain creditor. So, that’s how I handled it. For example, if it came down from $129 and I happen to have that amount available, I would call the creditor and pay it off myself and then, notify them that that hasn’t been paid off.
In the middle of 2018, I started staying focused and I was getting all my debts paid off. Towards September, I could see that if I really stayed focused, I could have them all paid off by the end of December and I succeeded in that. It was supposed to be a three-year program but I got it paid in two and a half years because I got bull-headed and decided, “Nope, this is gonna be it.” Cambridge told me towards the end that the $59 I was paying to the additional company, they did it in-house. Had they told me about that before, I could have cancelled my enrolment and saved but they didn't say that until the very end. Nevertheless, I got through it and they notified the bank in December that I was done with them. So, it was a load off my mind and I did learn a lesson. Don’t spend more than you can afford. Cambridge helped me. If people are really in-debt and need to see the end of a tunnel, I would more than likely recommend them.

I was paying too much on my credit card and I needed to consolidate. I got some solicitation from Cambridge in the mail and I followed up from there. All my questions were answered immediately, and once I got going on it, I didn’t have any questions. I just paid the bill very quietly, and all that was done over the course of a bunch of years. It helped me handle a very difficult financial situation.

I had gotten into credit card debt and I was getting old. I went with Cambridge Credit Counseling and it took me around four years to get through the whole program. My interactions with the team at Cambridge were fantastic. They had no judgments and they were always pleasant and always helpful. They worked everything out with me and we figured out how much I could pay, and that's what I paid. If I wasn't able to make a payment, I'd call them and they'd set it up to where I catch it up the next time. That was great. Also, the cost was cheap. I am so pleased with Cambridge and I tell everybody who's got any kind of financial issues about them.

I've used Cambridge one other time, quite some time ago. Someone had recommended them to me. Signing up with them was really quite easy. I called them and we set up a time for me to meet up with someone there. Then we sat down briefly and went over a few things. There was a helpful gentleman named Andrew that I would speak with on occasion if I had questions. I had outstanding credit cards and Cambridge got in touch with anyone that I had dealt with and came up with one lump sum that would come out of my bank account every month. I had automatic payment and the payments they took were perfect. It worked great for me. They have relieved a lot of stress. I’ve paid everything off in full and it feels good.

I had outstanding bills and I sought the services of Cambridge. They were very courteous whenever I called. I didn't have any trouble with them at all. I gave them the list of my bills and they called up my creditors. Not having received any phone calls, I assumed that it has all been paid off. I contacted Cambridge a few times to find out how many more months I had and they were very polite. Whenever money had to be sent out, I made sure it was a certain day to make sure I had it in the account. If I was short, which happened only a couple of times, I would tell them it could be a few days, because my check probably didn't get in there due to the holidays and they were understanding. I was very pleased with the company and I had an excellent experience with them.

A few years ago, Cambridge Credit Counseling helped me with my situation and provided me with consolidation for two credit cards. I spoke with someone on the phone and he explained what the process would be. It was pretty straightforward and easy. My mom was the one asking most of the questions though. She heard about Cambridge from a friend.
They were really organized. The payments were automated but they would send me statements via email. I stuck to the program for a couple of years and completed it. And I really liked that flexibility. Plus, the cost versus the quality of service was excellent. They helped me realize what I could do with my finances to get myself back on track. Now, I’m more aware of my credit than I was a few years ago. It was a great experience.

Cambridge's payment plan was cheaper than what I was paying per month. It’s easy and very straightforward to make the monthly payments at a certain amount of time, and it will be taken care of, and you’ll be done. I had a credit card and I used it up. My payment for the credit card was $96 a month and Cambridge charged me $112. That was more than reasonable to take that worry off my plate. It was a convenient and free from worry situation and the way that it would be taken out every month was a good thing. It was a very easy payment plan. I knew the debt was taken care of. I had so many charge cards with balances and I wanted to find a way to dissolve them. I knew there was Consumer Credit Counseling, and I looked it up and Cambridge has it. When I talked to their counselor through the phone, we set up everything and that went well. The plan was fine and it was something that I could handle. It was a very good program where they reduce some of the interest rates.
I paid them so much a month then they paid my card down. The amount, though, wasn't exorbitant. It was something that I could handle each month. And I was glad listing it in because I knew everything was being taken care of. I liked the way that it was handled. Whenever I had a question that I wanted to ask, I would call, and someone would answer it for me. And although they sent out a report every month for me to view, a little more discussion with the person they were helping just to reassure them that everything was going fine would be an improvement.
All in all, though, the service was good. I started in 2014 and we finished in January 2019. They helped me get rid of all that debt, and so I feel freer. I have more to spend. It took a much shorter time than it would if I had just gone because while I wasn't missing any payments on any of those, it was taking so long and I couldn't see any way of getting out of debt. The interests were so great. I could see myself 20 years of paying on some of those accounts especially Sears.

We completed that in December and the reps who assisted us were great.
They answered all of the questions that we had and if we needed anything, all we had to do was discuss it with them. Whenever we needed some help, they would make it so that we could pay our payments. They figured out the amounts that we had to pay and it was good dealing with them. We didn’t have any problems at all and we never missed a payment. In the end, they got our debts paid off just like they said. Enrolling with Cambridge Credit Counseling was very easy. I was in debt and went straight to them. Their accuracy impressed me. They made a monthly sum on the debt and it was affordable. Things were completed and they were on time. It took three years to complete the program. I've graduated and debt-free now. They need to have more communication with the client though. They never ever called me. They just took the money and deposited it. And that was poor judgment. I got my certificate and my letter, but they never called me once to see how I could improve my credit score. The whole purpose of going through the program was so I could build my credit back up. I don't know where I stand, what my credit report is, and if I have any outstanding debts left.

Congratulations on becoming debt free and completing your debt management program. We love to hear success stories like yours and are pleased to have been a small part of your journey to financial freedom! Let me take a moment to address your concerns.
Cambridge Credit Counseling is not a credit repair company, and don’t portray ourselves as such. We provide counseling and debt consolidation services, which typically allow clients to pay off their accounts in full, but at significantly lower interest rates, saving them time and money. If you had requested information about the steps you might take to improve your credit score, we would have been happy to provide that, free of charge, but it’s not something we force on consumers. Our website and the free educational materials we’ve placed online give plenty of tips and advice on these topics.
We have a fully staffed Client Services Department that is available Monday through Friday for any questions that you may have had while you were on the program. Looking into the history of your account notes, you did contact us and asked about adding accounts to the program, and we did leave you a message to advise you about your final payment. When we do that we are calling to see if you have any other accounts that you would like to add-on before your account is completed and closed. We also sent you a letter on October 16, 2018, to advise you that your final payment was coming up. That letter specifically states:
“If you have additional accounts that you would like to add to the program it is important that you send a request in writing or contact our agency to have your verbal request recorded by a Cambridge representative. If we do not hear from you by your scheduled due date, we will assume that you would like your account with our agency to officially be closed. All of us at Cambridge would like to congratulate you on becoming debt free.”
Though we pull credit reports to facilitate a consumer’s initial counseling session, it would be your responsibility to pull reports to review them moving forward, since encouraging clients to become more financially self-sufficient is one of the goals of our program. Again, we sincerely congratulate you on paying off your debt, and if you have any questions or need any assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I looked at a couple of other companies and Cambridge Credit Counseling Corp. looked like my best bet. The enrollment process was easy and it took a little under four years for me to complete their program. I’m not really good at budgeting money, so through the Cambridge program, I had a set amount to be split up between three creditors. The smallest one was paid off first, then the second one and then the last one. They deducted 225 a month and they deducted it on the 15th of every month for almost four years. It was nice and smooth. I didn’t have to send a check in. It did electronically and just made a little note in my little book. The last payment was in mid-November and that was when I got my email. I got something in the mail too from Cambridge saying congratulations, I was done and I was all paid off.
The fee each month was very fair considering they had to deal with three different creditors and splitting the money up. I’m very pleased with Cambridge for the service provided. They handled everything very nicely. It’s all paid off now and that freed up $225 a month. Now, I have more I have to work with. I have no complaints and I would recommend them. They handled everything very professionally. And if someone was to ask me about something like this, I would tell them to give Cambridge a try.

I did a lot of research and I saw the good ratings that Cambridge Credit Counseling had. I worked with somebody else before but it was not a good experience at all. At the time, I was going through some counseling through our company’s employee assistance program and they set me up with a vendor called My Secure Advantage. They were helping with budgetary work and the counselor for that recommended Cambridge as well. Cambridge seemed much more reasonable and I liked the philosophy in the way they were set up. I got into debt consolidation with Cambridge and my experience with them was very smooth and easy. They were helpful and very consistent.
There was one point where I had a problem with CharterBank and they were giving Cambridge a bit of a hassle about the timing of the disbursement of the fund. A rep from Cambridge called me and we worked through the difficulties. He was able to make it happen so that the timing was better. He worked with me through that and often called and asked for updates. They were very responsive so I felt really good about the service I got from them. That was about three years ago and the length of time that the process took to complete was very appropriate and very doable from a budgetary perspective.
The cost for the service was fairly minimal for what I was getting and the plan that we worked out was within my budget. We talked about that ahead of time. It was a lot of money, though. I was going to be paying it for 10 years, so I would rather have done it the way that Cambridge set it up for me. They were trying to make it the most reasonable period of time where I could pay things off. It was a realistic timeframe based on the experience.
Instead of just a generic call where I would get anybody, they could have a dedicated rep for my account and whom I could call personally especially at the early stages. For the first year when we were trying to get organized and we had more questions or concerns, I could see them being away for financial advice. I know a little about business and it is a distribution type of process rather than a one-on-one personal counselor, but if it could be that, I’m sure they would have done that for me if I had asked. However, I didn’t need to call them much because it was such an efficient process. I’d definitely tell my friends to consider Cambridge.

We reduced interests and payments over that period of time. The personal touch from Cambridge's negotiators made the process good. We got to be pretty tight with the person that was handling our account. We had a lot of issues we had to settle, and it was a lot of calls back and forth. I got educated about what we had to do. The payment plan was a lot of money. It was difficult and painful. There was a time we were living in an apartment with no furniture, but we got through it. I had too much consumer credit going in different directions and at my point in life, it was hard to manage. I found myself missing dates sometimes and not being able to consolidate the way I wanted to. So I went to work with Cambridge Credit Counseling. The enrollment process was easy enough. They gave me a chance to list the seven creditors on credit cards. I went and put all those together. I also didn’t realize their headquarters in Agawam was right around the corner from where I live. But I really hesitated on the $50 a month. It was a waste of my money on something I could be doing myself. But I settled in comfortably with the fact that it was going along month to month and it was gonna get me the reduction I wanted.
I also had a fantastic client management representative, Chris. His calm attitude impressed me. He understood my situation and was non-threatening. He reassured me everything was good and gave me his personal cellphone number. He checked back with me and I was on my way. I was impressed with the fact that he committed that he could help me, that I could also call him and that I could cancel at any time if I wanted to. Plus I could see results. I got the monthly statements and that made me feel good.
I didn’t get the reduction in the overall balance though. I just got the money that was being paid on a statement. So during the whole process, I asked about three times what the overall balance remaining was because I wanted to put it in perspective. But when I asked for a report, they gave it to me. I didn’t think there was any hidden process. It was just something that was left off the monthly statement that I felt I needed to reassure myself. When you have any kind of major debt, you would like to know where you are even though you see it’s really going down and you’re feeling good about it.
Overall, it’s a great program and I’ve concluded it. I went to the office and paid off in full around seven months ahead of time, and they handled that with no problem at all. I’ve gotten all the notifications and the credit card companies have sent me “paid in full” statements. I’m completely satisfied with Cambridge Credit Counseling. When I realized that I needed one credit card with the airlines type of thing, they even gave me advice on what airline or what cards are the best ones.

I had too many credit cards and I wanted to get rid of them. It was convenient online to get registered for Cambridge Credit Counseling and I worked with them for four years. My experience was good and I don’t have any complaints. It was cool that I got monthly statements that really helped me keep track, although I wished they would have some calculations towards the end. It would be cool to see how much or how many payments you have left.
I interacted with the reps at the beginning of the contract when I signed up and then, they called me in response to when I had to call them to figure out my last payment. From the experience I had, they were professional. The process worked at a reasonable pace. I was paying everything off, but there should be a website attached to the program. For example, if I have a really good paycheck and I’m sticking to my budget and I have $2,000 extra, then I can put another payment onto that. I live in a world where the money comes in and sometimes, it doesn’t. So, if I could get ahead of my payments a bit and still stick to the schedule of the program, it would be awesome. If it’s a program where they are trying to get people turned around, there has to be more information about the budgeting and/or how to control the rest of your other bills, and I didn’t receive anything like that.
Cambridge charged $40 a month and it worked out although there were times I was thinking about leaving the program and just making my payments on my own. My payments were about 524 a month and I could easily cut off the middleman and just make the payments myself. I thought about it a couple of times, but knowing that it was automatically being taken care of, it was a relief. I got the bills paid off and causing the weight off from paying the bills was nice. I was able to use that money and put them on other bills.
