    Cambridge is easy to work with. They look at the total that you have then set you up with a payment plan. It’s an affordable payment, too, versus trying to pay six or seven things at different rates. They don’t pressure you. You can do it in a way that helps pay things off without feeling overwhelmed. They also offer education. One thing that I learned was waiting to pay your bill when you get the bill is already too late. If you use a credit card and you pay it off before the statement date, you avoid interest. They don’t bombard you with emails. But when you get those emails, if you click on them and watch the little video, it does help. They do what they say they're going to do. If they say they're going to call you back, they call you back. I had trouble with one of my companies sending me a collection letter but the rep took care of it. I had an overall very good experience.

    Cambridge responded really quickly. They offered additional ways to monitor my credit and suggestions on how to improve it. That was good. It was information that I could use in the future. The program got me on track and on focus trying to stay ahead of the game and avoid as much unnecessary debt as possible. It made me more conscious of spending allocations of hard-earned funds. My experiences with the reps were always positive and encouraging. They listen to me. I work a lot so they didn't call a lot.     I was very badly in debt so Cambridge put me on a plan for three years. They took 200 out of my account every month on the 6th and last month was the last. I only had a $35 payment. They helped me a lot. There were times I had to scramble 200 into my account every month, but they were very good about it. If I needed them, I’d probably use them again.

    Cambridge was awesome. It gave me a great opportunity in having a direction when it came to handling some of the debt that I was dealing with at the time. About halfway through, I had hit another financial hardship, so we had to manage payments down a little bit. Once you pay an account off, that money that you're paying then goes towards the next set. They took that off altogether so I was still paying the same amount to the companies I still owe. But they said could reduce it and it helped a lot. It went down $4,200 a month. I would still be paying but we came into some money so I went ahead and paid off the money I had in collections. We had done that for one other debt that I'd had a year ago so that helped a lot cut the time down.

    Every time I'm on Facebook and someone says, “I'm dealing with a lot of debt, and I'm not sure what to do,” I always mention Cambridge. It's worth it. The only downside was that the accounts had to be closed ‘cause I was so delinquent on them. But that was something I was willing to do, ‘cause at the time I was having a hard time keeping them. It hit my credit at first, but watching my credit build over time has been great. Knowing that that debt is paid off and I don't have to worry about it anymore is a great relief.

    Before I went with Cambridge, I had called other firms in other places to try and get help getting control of all of the debt I had and I wasn't always very inclined to do it because it didn't necessarily feel like it was the best option for me.     The reps from Cambridge took care of everything. They contacted my creditors and they each said how much they would take. Then, we set up an amount that I could afford every month and Cambridge paid it all off. It came directly out of my checkbook. It was two years ago that I started the program and it's all paid off.     The guy from Cambridge was wonderful and they set everything up for me. It was over $20,000 worth of stuff and I paid a little over $500 a month or however many years it took. It seemed like it was taking forever but all of a sudden, it was great. The customer service was amazing. When all that happened, there were a lot of health problems going on, I was having to charge stuff from my mother, I had gone through a divorce, and it's only when I can pay for things. And it helped me get out of that and taught me to not do that again. If I had to charge something, I would, but I would definitely pay it off the next month. If I had to go get a part time job, I wouldn't get back in that shape.

    The customer service reps were friendly, polite, professional and able to answer my questions. It took me from a place where I got in over my head with the fact that I had two small children, who I needed to provide daycare before and after school. And I was okay, until the person who was doing my home daycare could no longer do it. So I had to move to a center, which was much more expensive. Then I had a series of things with my car breaking down, and it was the case where things got maxed out. I was managing to stay ahead, but barely. I was one tragedy away from something putting me over the edge. So, I called Cambridge and they were able to lower interest rates and payments. It was nice to have just one payment a month to them.

    The reps were very helpful and responsive. I had a set date for the 19th of the month for a payment and sometimes, the 19th was the day before payday. If I call them and ask if I could change the date to the 20th, they would say there’s no problem. When I called, someone always answered the phone, which was a miracle because now, you can't get anyone to answer the phone. Periodically, a couple times a year, Cambridge would check in with you and see how it was going, if anything needed to change, if there were any accounts that needed to be added and if I felt this was working. So, they were proactive.

    Immediately, creditors stopped calling and payments dropped. You still get a monthly statement and I wasn’t opening a bill and seeing it would be paid off in 27 years. I saw that it would be paid off within a four-year period. I could anticipate being debt-free. I've finished my program with Cambridge and I would highly recommend them.

    Cambridge saved my **. I would never have gotten out of that mess by myself. The guy who set me up stayed on the phone. He said, “Okay, tell me how much you pay for this. Do you get your nails done? How often do you get your haircut?” Every little thing, and I told him. It was a large amount that I pay every month in comparison to what money I took home. Working with them made my life 100% better. I don't have the debt hanging over me now. It's a lesson learned that I will never do that again.

    Some people don't have the willpower to put money where they need to put it. And if you're getting a bill, and it says you owe this much, then you're more apt to pay it. The payment was steep but I could make it most of the time. Even when I couldn't pay the bill, they were very good to move my withdrawal date. But they also made me aware that if I change things, I'm going to be paying longer. Granted they take $50 of the money I pay but they saved me more than $50 a month in interest just by negotiating my debt.

    Cambridge seemed to offer the most amount of help and they were very clear-cut. The guy that I dealt with, Justin, was super helpful. Laid all the plans out with me, what I needed to do to pay everything back. They were super easy to reach. If I ever had a problem, I could just shoot them an email or a call, and I would have a response within 24 hours. Most of the time, it was less than 24 hours.     Cambridge helped me finish off some bills. They went through to see what my problem was and they took my credit cards, my Walmart bill and another bill. There were four bills they took, combined them together and made it a monthly payment. They explained to me what we would do and how much it would be for me one payment a month, and how much they would charge me, which was low. And if I had any questions or anything, they gave me a customer service number, which I could get in touch with them. And they put the payment after my check came in. The program worked well. They said it would be three years before it would end. They gave me the month it would, which it did end in that month, and I'm finished with it.

    We started with three items to put in the program. The rep was very nice and wasn't fast-talking. She made sure that I understood what we were talking about. Two months later, she called me back and said that she came up with another one to put in and they adjusted where we put a fourth one in. So, I didn't even realize it was the fourth one that needs to go in. So, they put the fourth one in, which didn't take my bill up. Six months later, she called me back and asked me if I felt it took me over my limit, was my payment coming out on time, or if I had any problems with it.

    She was constantly in touch for the first year. And she told me it would be like that. After that, I was mainly in touch with customer service. My payments came out early. So, I would just call and do the payment automatically for them and let them know I had already paid it so it wouldn’t come out again, and talked to customer service. And their customer service people were good. If I changed my phone number, I would call and give them that, and they were polite. When I got one of them paid off, I called to see if I could get another card on there and they explained it was best that I didn't put the card on there because of the type of card it was. But they were patient and nice about everything.

    Someone went into my account and put some money out of my banking account, which messed their payment up. I called and told them that they may miss a payment and why, and they said okay. They waited until the money was back into the account so my it wouldn't be charged. And when I called and told them the money was in there, they went in and took their money then. So, they worked with me. It was a good company to work with.

    I had a good experience with Cambridge. My enrollment process wasn’t bad but it was a little much when trying to figure out exactly how many cards it was that I would need to put on it. Other than that, they were understanding and they helped me to understand everything completely. Setting up the payment plan, they asked me all these questions about where I was getting my income and how often I was getting it so they can better help me to make sure these payments were made on time. The price was a little bit much but it was affordable enough for me to make sure everything was taken care of.

    Cambridge is a great company. We used them, and I can't believe anybody would have a complaint about them, because they were really wonderful with us. They had very helpful people and reports. They have programs available to help the client do certain things, but unfortunately, we didn't do some of those. We were supposed to, but we didn't.     I was with Cambridge for five years and it'd been a really long trip. But it was a good experience with them. They helped me through everything, every step of the way, so it was really helpful having them. I also used them in the past and they were the only ones that received a really good debt consolidation rating, so I decided to go with them. They were very hands on in the beginning and they laid everything out for you in a plan. A counselor is assigned to you so you have someone one-on-one explaining everything to you about monthly payments, about what's going to happen to your credit score, and about what's going to happen to your credit cards because they all closed, which most people don't realize. They also tell you how long the process is going to take. From the beginning to the end, they were really in contact with me to let me know what was going on and it was a really good program.

When we tried to pay off everything at one time, we were being told that we couldn't, even though when I originally signed up through the program, I was told we could. So, that’s really frustrating. We also have a dashboard where you could log in and see that you made your payment. But we couldn’t see the account balances as they were being paid. But both of our credit went up pretty quickly with it.

    There was some kind of event held at one of the local schools in Baltimore City. I saw Cambridge there, got their literature, and read it. I decided to get my debts down because I was unsatisfied with what creditors were doing. If my balance was $500 and the minimum payment was $25, I would pay a separate additional $50. But that’s towards principal only. Instead of it going to the principal, they added service and finance charges. It seemed like I would never finish paying off people. So I said, “Let me get it into the hands of somebody and get this taken care of, and just be done with any kind of credit card.”

    I met with people from Cambridge and discussed what the plan would be. They gave me a list of all the payments that would be made and the estimated time to end it. After that, I didn’t really have much contact with them because the money was coming out and I would get my statement. To keep track of my progress, I went online and checked. I opened an account so that I can see what was going on.

    Being in the program, I didn't have to worry about getting the money to the creditors because Cambridge would deduct money from my account and pay my creditors. It was one smooth process. I knew when the money came out, this is what it would go to, and they would pay everybody off. I was able to get everything done in less than the time that we had anticipated because toward the end, I paid a lump sum of what was owed. Now the creditors owe me.

    Working with Cambridge was an easy process. I loved it and I'm glad I did it. It helped me a lot. Customer service sent me my statement every month through email. If I had any questions, I would call them with regards to payments that they made or did not make. But I was a little confused as to why they were still collecting the same amount once an account got paid off. I wasn't sure if they were putting more towards another account. I would call and they would say, "Yes, we add that payment to something else so we could bring it down sooner." It took me a while to understand that because I just thought once an account was paid off, then the money will be less because the money that was already separated for that particular account was already used.

    Also, there are two credit cards on my thing that had very small balances. Cambridge would alert me, "This account is paid off. Call the creditor to send you the refund." I thought that once the balance was paid off, the creditor would automatically send it to me. I didn't think I would have to call them to say, "Okay, so I have a little leftover. Are you sending it to me?" I just left it because there was so little that was owed to me.

    If Credit Counselling is handling the account, they should let the creditor know, "Okay, there's a refund, so send it to the client" or collect whatever was left over at their end and send me one check for everything. That would be easier than us having to go through all that. Other than that, everything was great overall. The one thing I liked is that because the refunds weren't so much and they were only $1 or $2 meant that they went to the extreme of calculating what was going to be due and not have so many over. That's fantastic in itself.

    I received a phone call from a gentleman from Cambridge Credit and he enrolled me in the program. It started with the monthly deduction and that would continue for several years. Gradually, the accounts became reduced. Eventually, the funds became less and less that were drawn out of my bank account. Sometimes I would try to hasten it up by making payments on my own to get rid of the debt quicker, which helped a little. There was always someone I could contact. Several people would contact me by phone or on email to find out if I had any questions and my progress. The reps have always been very friendly, forthcoming and personable.

    Their program was excellent. Everything was perfect. I'm sure I wouldn't be out of debt if I hadn’t decided and enrolled in the Cambridge program. I felt like the payments, originally, were very high based on my income at that time, but I managed to get through it. They made the deductions every month, usually.     One of the things that Cambridge recommended in the very beginning was a budget and I did a budget for two years. Financially, it made me straighten out some of the things I was doing. The beginning counselor was very, very helpful because they made me look at a budget and decide how I was going to pay and they told me what I could expect. Cambridge was able to get a reduction in the interest charged on my credit cards. I needed that to be able to make the monthly payments. So, my monthly payments before were higher than what I ended up paying Cambridge. One of the things that Cambridge tells you is your FICO score will go up after you've been in the program but that's not true. That doesn't have anything to do with Cambridge. It has to do with credit reporting. But it would be nicer if Cambridge didn't say that.

    The guy with Cambridge seemed honest and straightforward. We talked a little bit about the process and I had a good feeling with him. Originally, it was the same guy that I was talking to. I call maybe once a year to ask them a couple questions and it was somebody different but I always felt I was in good hands. Sometimes you got to watch out for stuff like that but Cambridge did everything they said they were gonna do. I never saw anything shady and it worked out very well. The program took four years. I set a deal up where they took out X amount of money off each card each month. They made $50 a month off of it, which is understandable.     It was getting tough to pay the minimum balances and I didn't want to fall behind. There were a couple of my debts that I was a little bit late on. A lot of them were increasing the interest rates and the interest rates were absolutely ridiculous on some of them. Then, the late fees that they were charging were, to me, very unwilling to work with. Cambridge helped immensely with that. They eliminated the late fees and the interest rates.     Cambridge was absolutely fantastic. We gave them all our information. They reached out to the credit card company to try and get a lower APR with a promise that they'd make the payments from our bank account. Once they did that, and it was in writing, they sent the information back to me and my wife and we signed it. They came up with what all the companies would settle for. If some of the APRs were something ridiculous and we'd gotten behind on the 24%, a lot of that would get dropped down to 12% with a guarantee that that credit card company is going to get paid at the same time every month. They would withdraw it from our account, and then they disperse it to the companies.

    If we have questions, we emailed or called, and we got a quick response within 20 minutes. They treated us really well and I was really appreciative of it. We got our debt paid off. Both vehicles now are paid off. It's made it so much less stressful than having to deal with a credit card company calling every day. If anybody is struggling in debt for poor choices they've made, I would 1,000,000% recommend Cambridge to get that stuff straightened out.

    Cambridge took all my credit cards and they called them to see if they would join the program. Every company joined except for one, so I’m still paying it off. Signing up with the program was so easy. They just took money out of my account every month, and paid the credit card, so I didn’t have to and I wouldn’t miss a payment by accident. And I paid off in four years. I talked to a lady and she was really nice. She explained everything to me. It made me feel so much better because the payments were a lot lower than having to pay off credit cards. The program was also pretty lowkey and so low maintenance for me.     I was very satisfied with Cambridge's rep. His name was Tim and he was very direct with me. He proceeded to tell me how much he would have to take out of my account. I told him my situation, about the number of credit cards I had, and that I was primarily receiving disability. He encouraged me to go ahead and have my credit cards consolidated through them. I was under some stress because I was paying high rent where I lived but I managed to come up with the amount every month for about four years. They kept the same amount that they took out of my credit card every month and they were very consistent all through my interaction with them. I got some good advice from them, too.     Getting out of debt would have taken me forever if it wasn't for Cambridge. They were able to consolidate some of my credit cards and other debts, get my interest rates down, and pay it off a lot sooner, which helped me make my credit better. My credit score’s going up. I fluctuate between 680 and 704, depending on how much I put on my one card before it gets reported back. Before, I was at the very low 600 and when I first started, I was below that. The problem was I wasn't managing my finances and Cambridge enabled me to learn how to do that. The biggest impact it had was teaching me that I needed to follow a budget and allocate my money instead of just free-falling it.

    I got an email about one of their tools, the budget tool, and I didn't use it, but I created my own Excel spreadsheet. When you're doing it on your head, that's not a budget. I have all my bills listed, and after I put it into my spreadsheet, I would see how much I would have left over and I knew not to go over that. I could see what I could spend on groceries and other things right there. It makes a real difference when you sit down, make a budget and see what you're doing with your money. I make a spreadsheet every mid-month, and I do it religiously. It has helped me get myself back on track.

    Cambridge taught me the importance of managing my money. I have two paychecks a month and every so many months, it winds up being three in a month. Before, I had to spend an entire check on my rent. Now, I can split that between two, and I put away half of it with my first check and half of it with the second and third. I'm not cramped each pay day. I got room to pay my other bills, have money for myself and save some and/or put towards lowering my debt.

    I've gotten rid of three other credit cards since then. Now, I have four, but I just opened one of them. It's like a Walmart card and I use that to pay bills and expenses. I use it to get the points and then I pay it off right away with the money out of my account. So far, I've had it for three months, and I've earned $50 towards paying off that credit card. I also removed my account from a no-interest bank, and I moved it over to Capital One, which I'm earning interest on my checking and on savings every month. While my money’s sitting there, it's working for me and I've been able to put savings away.

    I was doing some research on not-for-profit credit management agencies, and Cambridge came up as one with positive reviews. It seemed like there wasn't an obvious presence of self-interest involved. I inquired and they seemed really nice and they seemed workable. Everything was good, simple and to the point. The game pays for the service, but it was helping me take care of a debt and reduce my overall costs. So, it was a balance.

    At one point during my repayment plan, the customer service had sent me something. It was in the mail or online where they want them to submit a form about the updated balance on the credit card end of it. It was a loose end. I never did it, and then they never asked again for it. We just continued with the plan as it was set up, and the program ended easily when I contacted them about paying off like the remainder one month balance. So, there's one thing they had asked me to do, I never did it, but there was no follow-up call about it. So, if there is some type of letter or communication they send out that they really need, then they should reach out directly or send a direct email.

    The original counselor that I had talked to and got me enrolled was very informative. She was able to give me some insight to my situation, as far as how Cambridge does things. She was very helpful to me, and I was able to refer a couple of other people that she also helped getting their creditors. She was not judgmental. She was very caring and she never made me feel like I was beneath anyone else who may have had excellent credit.

    Cambridge got all of my creditors together and some of the interest rates dropped and some were taken completely off.     When I called initially, the rep, Tonya, was very kind and understanding. She let me know about the creditor information I needed and she was extremely informative.     When I first contacted Cambridge, the gentleman that I talked to was extremely helpful. He was upfront about everything, told me what they could do, what they couldn't do, and how it all worked. After my husband had his first open-heart surgery, we needed help with debt consolidation. He couldn't go back to work and we were fighting to get his disability. And I got involved with some company that was taking payments and not paying anything. So, I was going through all that with this gentleman at Cambridge that was helping me and he said that he had heard of that but that wasn't something that they were involved in. He said that they would take monthly payments then send monthly payments and make arrangements with all the creditors.

    He was amazing. I called him a couple of times with different questions just because I had that person's name and he was always very cordial, easy to talk to, and answered my questions.     A friend of mine at church told me about Cambridge and she had good reports, so I decided to talk with them. The enrollment was a very smooth process and the payment plan that they gave me was based on how much I owed. They asked me what was comfortable for me to pay every month and it worked out well. The counselor that I worked with was very professional yet very compassionate. Other people just want to tell you what to do but he was willing to listen to me and guide me on the right path. I was very comfortable working with Cambridge and they consolidated my account together to give me a good rate. I also liked that they represented me with all the companies that I had a card with to get me a good rate. I had 0% with some of them, so it was good to have somebody who knows what they’re doing fight for you.

    One of their reps told me that if I don't need a card, I don't have to open a card.     Cambridge was the easiest company. A lady was helping me and everything was online. The lady would tell me, “I'll send it right now in the email. Read it.” Everything was step-by-step. I liked her attitude. She explained everything and when I asked questions, she was on-point and told me exactly what was going on. If I needed to call or speak with somebody, Cambridge answered.

    My wife had to go into the place for the sign-up process with Cambridge the last time but on mine, it was done over the phone. It was simple and everything was good with the rep. I’m done with the program and my last payment was last month. It was a lot of money in a short amount of time but it was a modest amount that Cambridge was taking out.     Initially, Cambridge went ahead and got all the interest rates reduced. Some of them were even zero. They dealt with the institution, so I didn't have to do any of that, and then, they set up a payment plan with the vendors. My payments were the same in total, but it was getting paid off a lot sooner than had I paid at the original interest rate. They also closed the accounts, which helped because then, I was not using those, otherwise, I would be tempted to use them if they were open. There was one issue with one of the creditors, and Cambridge was able to talk to them and find out what was going on for me. It was very quick and I didn't have to wait.

    Every time I called for information, or if I had a question, there was someone there who would answer it. Other people could look up my account and they were very confident. I didn't always have to talk to my initial representative. They explained everything very well. A lot of companies are all voicemail, and can't get a real person, so it was nice to be able to actually talk to the rep. Once they take out my payment and distribute them, I don't have to worry about it anymore. It was just waiting those three years was the difficult part because it was a big payment.

    I ended in March this year and it was a big chunk of debt that was paid off. They were very flexible. There were a few months where I had to change my payment date and they were very helpful and did that easily. Just not having that burden of the credit on my shoulders and all those payments was great. I wish I would have taken advantage of the other things they can utilize like doing a budget or talking to them about re-budgeting.

    I had no problems once I figured out Cambridge wasn't a scam like some of them programs out there. And they paid all my collectors' debts for me. I was able to verify that. Whenever I had questions, I'd call the reps up and I got answers as quick as I could ask them. They solved my problems when I had a question. Everything went smoothly. That's the main thing I liked about it. For the quality of service, it was cheap. The only problem I had was I wish the payment would have been lower. But it would have stretched it out longer. The rep recalculated it once while I was talking to him to get it a little lower. And it wasn't that much lower, but he said that was the best he could do for me. So, I just went with it from there.

    However, people who are making less than $20 an hour wouldn't be worth their time to go with Cambridge. If they're only making 15 to 18 bucks, they wouldn't be able to put food on the table. I see all these companies out there, advertising on the Internet and on TV, and they promise a low monthly payment. I just say to myself, “Yeah, if you make decent money, it's a low payment to you.” But if you're working minimum wage, there's no way you could do a debt consolidation company. None of them would have a low enough payment for you. They think everybody has a job that they're making $50,000 or more a year. But I was able to make the payment and still barely put food on the table. I got out of debt.

    The program was set up that Cambridge would take their fee and the money to pay the Discover card right out of the checking account. My bank went along with it and I didn't have to worry about the money going out on time. I'm the world's best forgetful person, so it’s a good thing to have something like that.     It was wonderful with Cambridge. I was hesitant at first because it was new and I didn't know if I wanted to get into it. My ex-girlfriend told me to do it because her daughter had done it. It was easy getting in contact with them. And they had a really quick turnaround with contacting me and requesting my financial information. That was well-done. They even did a follow-up with me to confirm that I wanted their service and that all my information was correct. It was streamlined. I like that part.

    At first, it took a couple of days for me to get a response back. And I feel that the email response system is professional and secure. But it takes too long to respond and too much of a turnaround time. I would prefer setting up an appointment with a phone call or a video chat or something with a quicker response. Or even a text message saying, “We got the message. We’ll respond soon.” I just feel the email is too lengthy of a process for me to get a response back from a counselor.     I heard some good news of Cambridge. I had a friend who was in with them and told me about it so I looked further into it. Through my years of experience, it worked out very well with me. When I very first started out, I spoke with a woman by the name of Emma. I don't know if she left or what happened but I ended up with two or three reps that I would talk to. But they were very helpful in anything. They all gave me good responses as far as what to do with my finances and how to build it up, and what they could help me with as far as what I had there. It was very good.

    Since I've finished with it, I'm doing very well. It was a good feeling to have it over with. It taught me if you don't have the cash or the money, then you don't create a card. I'm being real strict on that part of it because I don't want to go back into what I was in. I've learned a lesson from it and I've been able to move forward.     I found Cambridge through my boyfriend. We both bowl, and we found it through our league. The enrollment process was simple and self-explanatory. The beginning was easy. The only thing I wish they would have informed me on was when I was able to pay off everything, the numbers were not going to be exact. I ended up owing companies after I did my payoff amount. It was irritating because whenever I spoke with the representative, they told me that all amounts should either be exact or they'll pay more, and I should get a refund back. That was definitely not the case.

    Instead of Cambridge being the consulting company, I had to call out to each individual company to see what they were paying towards the amount and how much I would end up owing. It was more of a hassle and a nuisance than anything. If I'm paying them fees every month to take care of my accounts, then that should have been handled on their end. One of the things that we also noticed was, they would tell me how much they were taking out and putting towards each account, but they never told me what my balances were on those accounts.

    That was another thing that I had to do. I was in serious debt, and I had multiple different companies. It was taking me hours and hours to figure out what I owed each company or what my balance was. I paid off all my debt and every person I ever worked with was great. I never had any issues, but instead of being a "Yes, ma'am. No, ma'am" kind of person, they could be more open with the process and how much I'm gonna have to pay as well as what I'd end up owing.

    With making too many payments too much, I was struggling. I lost some of my income and thought that Cambridge Credit Counseling was the only way that I could end up paying it all off without being late. The rep helped me, we got some details worked out and I had a good experience with him. I was set up on a payment plan that was manageable as well. I didn't have a problem making that much. It was automatically withdrawn from my account, so I knew on the fifth of every month that payment was going to come out. That worked really well. I got my statements every month and that was important to me. Everything was great. Getting all of my debt paid off has been a huge relief. I'm glad.

    Whenever I initially talked with the members, they were willing to help me out and set me up with everything. This was all new to me and being able to have somebody walk me through the whole process and be there is what drew me to proceeding with Cambridge Credit Counseling. Enrolling was easy for me as well. It felt a lot more personal than just going to some corporate conglomerate that's says, "Okay, give us a list," and then they don't assist me through anything. Cambridge Credit Counseling asked me what expenses I had every month. I went through that with them, and we went item by item. They then came back and told me, "Okay, well, it's not going to work with this. So, what else can we do?"

    I thought about my budget and pushed it further. We were able to get things worked out. Having them there again to push me and get things rolling was nice. They said to do the fifth of every month and that worked for my pay periods, so I went with it. I saw how much I was paying and how much I've paid in total on the statements every month, but it didn't provide an end balance of how much I still owed in total. I would have also enjoyed seeing how much I had left to go because if I had the ability to pay early or finish that a little bit earlier, I would have done so. Since I didn't know how much, I just kept paying the minimum.

    I finally got rid of all of my outstanding debts. Being able to catch up on my finances and get my stuff back together is a big impact. Plus, the cost was perfectly acceptable. I didn't think it was outside of any insane price range and it made it easy to manage the rest of my finances. In my eyes, the value's there. The initial setup and getting the accounts rolling and getting the money distributed were most beneficial for me. There were other services available, like balancing my budget, but I recovered all of that on my own, so I didn't feel like it was necessary in my case. They also kept reaching out, checking in, and sending the emails like, "Hey, if you need any help, we're here." That constant communication and knowing that I'm not just a number in a queue somewhere was nice.

    The experience was very good. When I contacted a representative, I got somebody right away and I explained my situation. They were very thorough, and I didn't feel judged. After everything was set up, it was done. As long as I had the money for them, everything was smooth. There were different people I spoke to at different times, and they were all very professional and patient.

    Cambridge made things a lot easier when it came to dealing with my credit card debt. When I was almost done paying off my bill, I liked how they reached out and let me know what was going on as well as the future procedures that would be taking place, because I didn't even think about it myself.     I have two special needs children, and we had an insurance issue in March three years ago. We always had two insurances (lots of therapies). One would cover the copays, and the other would cover everything else. My husband's employer changed insurance policies, and they were supposed to remain the same. However, we found out that they weren't paying the copays anymore after we had already racked up three months’ worth of copays, which was almost $3,000. With copays, you have to pay them to be able to come back and get more services. We had to use almost two months’ worth of credit card bills, while the credit card bills then were late. What happens is when you pay a credit card late, even if it's 2% or 3% interest, suddenly, it jumps up to 29.

    We had to keep paying for the insurance too. We couldn't drop it because we had to have some ridiculous qualifying life event, even though they're the ones that changed it. We only had to pay for the $1,000 a month for the copays. We were also late with our credit card, so they went higher because the interest rates went up. We got stuck into a situation where we couldn't cover everything, so I went to Cambridge to try to figure out how to deal with the debt and still be able to pay these other things. They worked with the companies, got them down to the lower interest rates and worked out a plan. It went absolutely great. The cost was very much worth it too. $40 a month was not much to pay for helping us totally get on our feet again.

    There was a lot of anxiety and they were very helpful. Any time that I contacted them for some kind of document that I needed for some reason, they were immediately responsive. I had everything I needed right away. The customer support was very good. I was aware of everything I needed to know, when I needed to know it. We finished out a little earlier than expected and now, we're putting away the money we were paying to hopefully purchase our house in June. We’re putting it back for a down payment.

    I have recommended Cambridge Credit Counseling to folks who are in similar boats. I explain to them it's something they could do themselves, except the negotiation. They're already in a situation where they're stressed because they're dealing with something that got them there to begin with, or they've had trouble managing. If they have the ability to really handle those things and function well to begin with, they would have done it. There's no reason not to have people who can track everything for them, step in and give them the structure so they can function and focus on what they need to instead of tedious stuff that takes up their attention away from the things that they're trying to make better in life.

    The people from Cambridge were really personable. They checked in a lot with me and it felt more like a counseling group than like a business. They really were more out to help me than help themselves. It wasn't about what they were going to make off of my fees. It was really easy to deal with them. I got my credit counselor and she walked through everything with me. went through all of my debt, went through what the payments would look like, really was very open about everything.

    You get monthly reports and there are check-ins constantly with Cambridge. You see what your progress is. I had some questions when I was coming to the end of some of my payments about what to do next and they were very responsive. Even during the pandemic, they've always had somebody there to guide you. I was done with my payments in December. It really helped me and my credit is really good now. They are really awesome and I'm so happy. It was a really good experience. If I knew anybody that needed the services, I would absolutely point them in their direction. They also offer other services, if you want them or not, at no cost. They're really specific and they really spell out everything at the beginning.
