I had a very good experience with Events and Adventures and I really like it. The events I went to were very nice and I'm happy that when I'm at work, people can plan my free time. I’ve lived for 20 years in Illinois but I didn’t know about many places. I’m 54 years old and I’m a very active person but a lot of people my age are not. I signed up in February. My first event was a water gun fight in the pool area in Schaumburg. It’s too cold for me in February but it turned to be okay. During the week, I live very far from Chicago because I live in Glasford so it's impossible to go to events unless something is in Schaumburg. One time, I went to a dinner in Schaumburg during the week.

Aside from the water gun fight, I went to Wisconsin for skiing, I went for archery, a couple of hiking, a disco event, an event barbecue and the Hindu temple in Burlington. I went to Mexico with my doctor and I'm going to go to Poland on Thursday so I don't have many events planned in June. I'll plan something by the end of the month. But for one event, I have a trip this August to Las Vegas. I met people but not anything closer than that. It's not what I intend to do. I'm happy about my experience with Events and Adventures and that I signed up. And even though I have friends and we do stuff together, Events and Adventures has fresh ideas and fresh people to meet. I even advised my daughter to join the club too. Everybody can find something that is good for them in every adventure. I want to go and have one.

I want to meet people in a more organic way and I knew about the Events and Adventures through a friend. I was a little apprehensive before my first event, but after I have arrived, that changed to a certain extent. I’ve attended about 10 to 15 events. I’ve gone to the zoo, the museum, different bars, board night and rooftop events. I like the outdoor activities and I had a lot of fun in kayaking recently. I also went on a hike. There’s a good mix of free activities and activities for extra pay. However, sometimes, I don't always feel that the money I'm contributing is necessarily compensated in any way. For the free activities, a lot of times we’re going to free concerts which do not necessarily cost Events and Adventures anything for us to go. You do have this sense that you want to get the bang for your buck. I'm paying for the company of other people and the experiences that I probably wouldn't otherwise had.

I've made some acquaintances and met people in the club that I really connect with, but we have not met up outside the club. I enjoy being with Events and Adventures and I'm hoping to eventually get to that point of having friends. The ratio of men to women in my club is heavily skewed towards having more women than men. And so, it makes it limited for any potential dating options. My friend who recommended Events and Adventures was in a group in San Diego, California and she said, "Yeah, the ratio of men to women out here is much more men than women." The club is supposed to be marketed as a method of finding a significant other or someone in a relationship with, but I'm not getting that. And that primary experience was 55 percent of the reason I joined the club.

Also, I've noticed that in some events, the host and certain members of the group get a little clique-y. It’s a little disappointing when their primary function is to be there to facilitate friendships. I haven’t experienced it personally, but I've watched how the host have treated other people in the group. And it has left a bad face on them. This is the reason why I enjoyed the outdoor activities, because I don't run into them out there.

Events & Adventures sounded fun going out, doing things and meeting new people. I was a little nervous at my first event, but that changed. I've gone on 10 to 12 events and trips. I've done a Tango night, a game night, a Cards Against Humanity night but it was at Whirlyball so there was whirlyball as well, a couple of hikes, blues cruise or a boat cruise and camping trip. I like their Punch Bowl Social event and I'm going on a camping trip with them one more over the weekend.

I definitely made a lot of new friends. I talk with people on a weekly basis or daily basis with some of them and I am dating someone. They're not from the E&A specifically, but I wound up getting introduced to them through E&A. It's been a lot of fun. I meet a lot of interesting people and they’re a lot of fun to know. They plan things outside of E&A as well once you start getting to know them and they're all very friendly. They make sure you are part of the group even if you're new. I've recommended E&A to three friends.

Friends told me about Events and Adventures. When I went into the website, it showed people mountain climbing on the wall. I don't like heights, but I wanted something that would take me outside of my comfort zone. I'm very shy and I am on my own now so I need to get out there. I was very nervous on my first event which was the dinner. The host was great and the people were very good. I'm 67 so I was uncomfortable about being older but everybody treated me normally. It was fun and I really enjoyed myself.

I've only been in this program a month and a half and I've gone to four events. I've been to two dinners. It's a smaller group and it's more on one-on-one conversation so I like it the best. The other one was the barbecue, so there's a lot of people. And being shy, it's harder for me to push myself when it's a whole big crowd of people. But it was still fun. And then I went on one of their walks, which I really enjoyed. They’ve been good experiences. I'm going away for the holidays for the next month and when I come back, then I will be taking more.

With Events & Adventures, I can go out to do something without waiting for any friend to go. When I’ve arrived at my first event, I was not sure of what to look forward to but all of them were very welcoming. Most of the time I always plan for the weekend event because I can’t plan ahead of time on the weekday. I want to go to the event that has activities. It is of just mingle and drinking or eating. Like recently, I went a few times to the paintball event, kayaking and cycling. I also went to streetball last Tuesday because it's near to my place and on the Thanksgiving weekend, I also went for a cruise. I'll be going to the Memorial Day camping in Wisconsin next weekend like the Holy Festival that I went last month. That’s the most-awaited one.

I’m new in the US and I’ve been here for four years. So, it’s good to join because I can experience and try a lot of things in a short time around here. I've made a lot of friends and I'm so close with some. We even hang out outside of the events. I always tell my friends they should try Events & Adventures. I do a lot of promoting but they are not single so they cannot join the group.

I've been around Houston for 13 years but never heard of Events and Adventures until the last year of my marriage because of certain apps. I was careful about creating dummy email accounts and fake Facebooks so that you couldn't find me. But I was using the same IP Address in the phone and they were able to metadata that and get me the advertisement of Pandora which had the dating app. In my first event, I was curious. I'm a Freemason for 10 years now so I got the whole hangout camaraderie thing down. But the conversation doesn’t get much outside of guy talk. So, being single again and doing something else made me nervous.

I attend an average of three events per week. I started in late February so it’s close to twenty. The bars we go to are nice, the camel races were cool and going out to the race track was neat. The sunset hike which is more of a walk along the Bayou is my favorite. One of the members said, "We stop over here by the Waugh Street Bridge." And I said, "What's that smell? Why did we stop here? It smells like a hobo camp." And they say, “No, look. It's the bats." I've lived here 10 years and didn't know that we had a bat colony that comes out at dusk.

Aside from these, I’ve done sand volleyball three times and there are basketball watch parties at a bar we have. But nobody watched basketball. We played pool and drank beer. The mixers and new member orientation at the clubhouse are always fun which is like a big house party. It’s been a great experience with Events and Adventures. I'm in marketing and I'm always out and about in the city. I could sit in traffic for two hours and get home at the same time or I could go do something with E & A.

The variety of new things that I would be able to try and meeting other people my age that were looking for the same thing interested me the most about Events and Adventures. I was a little nervous at first but the host introduced me to some people and I warmed up quickly that night. Out of all the trips and events, I like the bowling ones. I like to bowl so I'm into that. I have traveled and stayed in a hotel for some of the parties that were downtown. I've done dodge ball, archeries, volleyball and beach volleyball. Those were a few of them. Tomorrow night, I'm going to a Whirly Ball. It was a great way to meet new people and try new things. I haven't met any significant other for a long time but I'm still meeting people and everyone.

The ability to connect with other people in the area and get to know places that I would never try on my own interested me most about Events & Adventures. I have attended about nine events so far. I attended a community service thing, a dinner, a museum and stuff. They've all been very different. There were some people that I've seen multiple times but I can't say that we've developed friendships. Events and Adventure's online presence is a bit weak though in the sense that I would like to be able to have an app and look at events and sign up right there instead of having to go through their website which is hard when you're working on your iPhone. I wish they had a more IT front-end app. It's easier. But, so far, so good.

Online dating sucks. There's no way around it especially in the larger city like Chicago. You're gonna be sitting on one of those dating sites swiping through a million people before you get lucky enough. I then got interested about Events & Adventures to be able to interact with people. I was pretty excited for my first event, but I was also really nervous and I usually don't get nervous about stuff like that. It was like going to Chic Pool, you go to a pool hall and I've never been to that pool hall. But they are really cool about it. I gave the event host a call, asked for directions and I was able to find them in four or five minutes. Everything was cool.

The event seemed like a little bit of both an open and closed off environment. You always get the people that are really cool with other people because they've been there for a long time. A lot of people are very open and friendly and there might have always been one or two people that were too shy or something might be deeper there. It wasn't that they are unwelcoming. Also, ever since I've been going to more events, there are a few people who have opened up. Everyone is different and that's what make sense. It's the individuality and that's what makes us all different. So, that's cool and it wasn't a bad thing. When I took it at first, I was hoping I don't piss these people off but that's just who they are. They take a little longer to open up and I don't care.

I've made friends and some potential significant others. It's funny how things work out. When I joined there, I was going the hole and I want to find this and that and do this and that. The more I get into it, I like this group of people. There isn't a rush and I like that mentality better. I chilled with 20 cool people and I would like to chill, eventually, with that one person. But at the same time, I'm such a people person and I think my wife's gonna hate me one day because I'd want to spend time with her but I want to spend a time with other people such as this.

I've been to a lot of events. My first four months, I wasn't that good about it and then, finally one day, I thought I need to start going to these events. So, I went to an event on a Tuesday and I really like it. Then, I signed up for an event the next day and the event the day after that. Sometimes, I go to three or four events a week. Although I'm not sure if all the money is worth it because it is a very expensive club to be in. But I would definitely suggest it to a friend because I've been very satisfied with my experience.

I’ve been a member since the beginning of March and attended 25 events/trips with them, and it has been good so far. I liked the camp, but the St. Patrick’s Day Cruise stood out the most. The cost and the service that they have provided is worth it and I’m quite happy with everything.

I had a friend that was previously in Events and Adventures and she said, “You just sign up for stuff, pay a little bit of fee if needed and just show up”. With everything going on these days, it's nice to be there, pick which event you want to go to and not have to think about it. And the variety of the events is great, too, going to stuff I didn’t think I'd go to and end up having fun like skydiving. I wouldn’t have gone to that by myself or pottery classes, hang gliding and clay shooting. I go and play volleyball with various people every Tuesday. I've met several people and a maybe significant other. But Events and Adventures needs a mobile app. I know what it takes to make a mobile app and it's not that hard. Not everybody has time to go on the website and do everything.

I wanted to meet people, have fun with single people and not to be like a dating situation because everybody around me is married. For my first event with Events & Adventures, which was Kentucky Derby, I was a little nervous because I didn't know what to expect. But I was fine and everybody was really welcoming. They weren't being like fresh meat because a new person came in so, it was nice. I've been a member for a year. I've been on two of the camping trips, which I loved, I'm also a big fan of the whole boating on Lake Michigan and I liked the Fred Astaire Dance Studio. I've also done karaoke, nightclub, Budgee Ball, Whirly Ball, beach volleyball, some of the dinners, a bicycle ride in Chicago and the runs. It's very fun and I have a bunch of friends.

The same people that I talked to that got me in, do completely different view with other people but that wasn't clear. If the cost went up, you gave them cash to pay right away and I understood all that. But it ends up that's not how that is. I've met all these people and became good friends with them. I'm in a serious relationship and I don't know that I'll be going after two years and that's not the case for a lot of people and you can say you don't want it to have to be over in two years. Once I give them all that money and if I keep paying monthly, it seems unfair that people in sales know to do this kind of thing. I'm just a regular person who listens to the radio and I couldn't understand that. To me, that seems wrong and I don't understand why I get kicked out but other people don't. I didn't know that there's this whole negotiation thing because I'm a teacher and I'm not in business. My life is very cut-and-dry.

There are other people who are members forever as long as they keep paying their monthly thing. To me, it seems fair. Once you get your initial money, why are some people cut out and some people are not? It's only because they were savvy enough to know business-wise that you can strike deals with people. I was trusting what you're saying that this is what it is and it's cheaper if I could pay all upfront but it's fine if I can't. Also, they could do a payment plan which is what I did and I totally understand that if I end up spending more over time doing that. That makes perfectly good sense to me.

But I always thought I understand that since my payment plan was two years, I thought that I would go down to the $30 a month because mine's all put together. But, apparently, that's not the case and I'm just gone. That would seem wrong especially for the people that are really using it. But it's a fun way of being able to go out and it's nice when all the people plan your activities. I have recommended them to friends already.

I like the events that Events & Adventures did. The Glow in the Dark Kickball was the best. There were only a couple of other things that glowed but then towards the end, it didn’t matter and it was really fun. I've attended about 5 events and I should probably do more activities. I plan to go to some events on a Saturday and Sunday in the next couple of weeks, one is a mixer and the other one is a Mimosa type of wine tour thing. However, my free time is pretty limited. I have a 5-year old and sometimes I would love to go to an event but it doesn’t work out as far as location and time frame because my child has a bed time.

I like the ones that start at 6:00 versus ones that start at 6:30 and 7:30 because of the way that I got to drive to get to the place. And then with my child being babysit, I always look at the time I'll be getting home. And so asking for a babysitter to have the time of 5:30 to 9:30 can be kind of problematic, depending upon what day it is.

They seem excited to get me on board but when you don't want to do it anymore, you can't get out. There probably is a way but I'm not familiar with it. I left two messages and I never got a call back. I already paid so it wasn't about the money. I hurt my knee and got busy. The experience so far has been good, it's just the cancellation.

I've met a couple of nice people and I made one friend and four other people that I hang out with while I'm there. However, it would be nice if they were a little bit more selective in their group. Events & Adventures really seem to check people out pretty carefully. I liked that they interviewed you first and it wasn’t just like a dating site where you go online and fill out all the application. I think the first event I went to was handled very nicely. I've also gone to a lock-in, an escape out, a Halloween Party which is the biggest event I went to, a few dinners, a painting class, a dance class and one where you meet for drinks and appetizers. I've only been to a handful because the way my work schedule is but everyone has always been very pleasant and open and those were all things that I wanted to do. I've made some new friends and I haven't really done as much as I probably should have for what I'm paying but I have enjoyed the times that I've gone.

Also the website is well done with plenty of activities that’s more within my schedule, as well as things that are out of cost and just enough free activities. There was something every night and for all ages. There's something for people in their 30s, for people there that are 46 and some older people, too. It's a very well-to-do tight group that runs it. They're there and keeping an eye on things and yet people can do whatever they want. It's very well organized. It’s a good time and I’d recommend them to friends.

When I went in to do my interview and all that and signed up, I specifically asked several times if there were events out closer to my area because, on their website, they have a location in Johnsburg. At that time, they said no and that location has since closed but they reassured me that at least 50% of our events happen out in that area but none that I have seen.

It was interesting that Events and Adventures were specifically targeted for singles in Chicagoland area for people who want to go out and do something and not just sit around and be bored. I've only done one event and I've been a member for two months now. It was kind of a different experience for me while I was at the event and we were doing the escape room, everything was great. Then afterward, we all hung out in the general common area then we all decided to go next door and grab a drink or some food. There were 30 people involved, 15 people walked over. Within five minutes, there were four of us left and nobody said anything. The rest of the group just kind of walked out without notifying anybody else. It didn't sit right with me.

I haven't really looked for another event. I've only looked to see if there's any event out closer to me because if I'm going to spend my time and that kind of money, I want to be doing things that I like to do and other people like to do and then socialize afterward. Instead of going to the event and then bolt especially if I'm going to invest three plus hours in the car to get to that. It's a non-refundable thing and most of the events are in the city of Chicago and I live 50-70 miles outside of the city. I was excited at first, exhilarating when there, but disappointing overall.

It's been three months and I have gone to more or less 10 events, including that, a couple of parties at the club house and a crawfish boil, Mardi Gras and Valentine wrapped into one. We also played sand volleyball at a bar and there's been a Sunday barbecue. I've found some friends, too. I like Events & Adventures and I recommend them to people. I heard about Events and Adventures advertised on the radio as a social gathering, not a dating service so I went with it. I was a little anxious on my first event but when I arrived, the people there were friendly and very welcoming. We went around by saying our names and where we were from. I’ve attended over 50 events since November. We went zip lining and last week, we had bubble soccer. We also went to see and learn about the llamas and we’re going to England in June.

I've been single for a while and Events and Adventures helps me get out of the house. I am not pressured in trying to meet someone. As a matter of fact, I'm 62 and I'm the oldest one there. The average age would be in the mid or late 30s but it's fun to be around the kids and watching and getting to know them. There's not very many men my age in it but I have met some lady friends. As a matter of fact, I'm going to roam with one in England. We’ve done some things outside of the group too and it's great.

The only thing is it’s a catch-22. It's a little expensive but you know that the people that are investing in this are committed. They are not just your run-of-the-mill person on the free online dating site. They are professional people which I tend to be more comfortable with. Even security-wise, I'm not thinking there's somebody in there to scam me. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. I'll definitely recommend them if somebody could afford it.

I like the idea of Events & Adventures' event planning and taking that part off my plate. I was curious when I arrived at my first event but after that, I figured out what was it then I went and had fun. I've attended the wallyball and some of the bar eating events. There's also a soccer game, and the gun shooting one was my favorite.

Events & Adventures is a good program. I've just begun my fifth month with them. They offer a lot to singles like me who find themselves working a lot. I’m about 30 minutes away from them in a clubhouse down there. I’m from the north side of Houston and I love it. They are able to schedule on their calendar events that are close by to me to where I can enjoy it, and take trips to other places as well. And the variety’s nice, too. The fact that I can enjoy musical theaters down in Hermann Park or go to a science lecture in a museum or just hang out and do sand volleyball at a local hangout up where I live is amazing.

My cousin kept telling me about the singles group and he would not stop talking about this thing for a month. You go to events and you keep meeting the same people. You get a chance to meet somebody and continue to see them and things work. I said, "When are you gonna join? You keep talking about this." He said, "Yeah, I heard it on the radio and I looked it up." He told me that it was Events & Adventures and I said, "Oh okay. Text that to me so I can look into it." I went into the website and I put my information and then I got called. The rep said, "Well, you can come in and I can give you more information." I went and talked to Jody and I said this is a whole different thing than online dating.

It was a little better because you get to meet people face to face instead of not being sure if you're meeting someone for real or what their true intentions are. I started thinking that this would be something better than what I've been doing so far because I really want to meet somebody and eventually be married. All the things that are out there now sucked for me. I've never been married and I don't have kids and I get rejected because of that. You don't have to deal with the drama or anything like that. Also, I'm 47 but I'm a young 47. My age is not a big deal. I also do better face to face than through email or messaging so I went on to Events & Adventures.

I'm very social so arriving at my first event didn't even matter to me. I went with a plan. I knew everybody there was single so it was okay. In a normal situation, when you go into a group setting or a bar, you have to assess the place. You know who's out there looking for somebody and who isn't and you can tell that by their demeanor in the place. But at least with Events and Adventures, you know they're single and they're there for a reason. Especially for the women because you don't have to worry about a guy playing with a double life. If he's married, he's married, but he's out there messing around and vice versa.

I did a lot of the summer stuff and there were no weekends for me. However, the biggest hang up I have about Events & Adventures was that it was more Chicago-based and I'm not from Chicago. I'm in the suburbs. I can't go to a lot of the weekly events because I get out at about seven and by the time I get to Chicago, either the event is over or I don't want to participate anymore because I've been sitting in traffic for an hour and a half. I've met a lot of people from Naperville or from Waukegan. There's nothing that's going to be close to a person that joined from Waukegan unless they come to Chicago.

I met some friends but I'm not looking for guy friends. Every time I go now, I try to get a number or try to get to talk to somebody. However, there has been some situations that I ran into which I was disappointed. It was the Valentine's event and halfway through the event, I've seen this girl and I have to go say hi to her because she was gorgeous. But she was grouped up and she was dancing with her girlfriend and these two other guys.

Eventually, that girl sat down so I said, "Hi, how you doin'? Is someone staying here?" She said, "No." I sat down and had a conversation and she told me that she came with a friend that is also part of the event. I started telling her about the event, what it's about and what they do. It was a simple conversation. Her friend came up and said, "Excuse me. This is my friend and she's not allowed to talk to anybody that we don't know." I said, "Okay. So, why didn't she say that?" We were engaged in a conversation and her friend grabbed her from the chair and took her to the dance floor. I let that slide but that was rude.

Also, there were a couple of events where you would go and you would assume things and they wouldn't be true. The first one that I went to, I thought it was catered and we pitched in a few dollars. But, they just reserved tables and then you order your own food and they put it on one bill. I said, "We put them all in one bill? I don't wanna do that. I don't know these people. How do I know they're not gonna walk out and just leave whoever the last person with the bill? You guys gotta be more careful."

I talked to the person that's running the thing and I said, "You know what, that'll be just nice that you guys would be cutting clear of what is to be expected on stuff like this because if that's the case, I rather just eat before I go and then worry about my own drinks or whatever the case may be." Just be forward, don't try to massage and say, "Oh yeah, there's dinner and we're gonna this, we're gonna do that." Then, it's not. However, it has gotten better. They listened on that one.

But right now, what I'm seeing and it's starting to get annoying was that it was getting real cliquey. It's all about the Chicago people and the suburb people were not part of the clique. I even froze for two months because I don't want to see them anymore. We can't get into the mix there. It doesn't mean that I don't try to get involved with some of those conversations, but after you see them a few times, you know there's nothing there. The rep kept saying we're getting about 20 new people a day. I said, "Well every time I come out, it's the same people. Where're the more people?" When they had something close to me during the week that I was able to go to, I met different people which was cool. But, there were still the same few that likely go to all the events which is good because that's what it's there for. You want to go to an event constantly because you're paying for it.

We knew about Events & Adventures through a friend. I just kept it at the back of my mind for a while and we talked about it at New Year's, and a friend signed me up for following up. I was interested in the club to be more active and meet people. I just started with them in January and I've been to a bunch of events and trips. I've probably attended two to three events a week, and most of these have been indoor activities so far. I liked the rock climbing and the bowling is always fun. Other than that, the game nights are always fun. A lot of times, we just do dinners, happy hour, and stuff like that.

Since I've been going there, I've found friends, but no one significant yet. There have been a couple of events outside of Events & Adventures that I've attended with a recurring Saturday group of people that I've met at E&A that do rock climbing every week. I've also been invited to a few other events outside of E&A, but I haven't gone to them. The services that E&A provides and the events that they put on are great. There are a little overpriced, though. Overall, it's pretty easygoing with E&A. The events are well organized. When we get there, everything's ready to go and people just hit the ground running.

I was single, very lonely and was trying to put myself out there in any way. I grew up in Minnesota, went away for college and ended up coming back to Minnesota. A bunch of my high school friends was around, but a lot of them weren't really available and very far. One of my closest friends ended up having moving to Cincinnati dorm.

I joined Events & Adventures and during the first event I attended, I wasn't sure what to expect. I got to find a game, and that got me comfortable. Over the last two years, I've attended their events about two or three times a week and the camping trips are the most valuable for me. My biggest takeaway is that I've made a lot of really good friends. One of the places that I would like to live someday is in Southern California and I don't know if Events and Adventures has many clubs down there or not. I just like to see more clubs around the country. Overall, it has been a life-changing experience for me.

I saw Events & Adventures online and I was interested in meeting new people. I signed up for the club in Chicago. I gave the down payment but I never showed up on any event there. I tried to cancel it but it’s seven days after. So, I never met anyone in Chicago and I never used the club there. But I used the club here a few times in Minneapolis. I did not use it during my first year but I guess the people from Events & Adventures’ office restored the sign back to me for Minneapolis. The first event I came to was the trivia game. I was new in Minneapolis so I was excited. I met interesting people but I’m not over there all the time so right now, people already know each other from before. I’ve been a member for about a year now and I go to two events per month. My last event was watching the Night of Modern Ballet and my favorite event was hiking.

With Events & Adventures, there’s always something to do, there are free events, and you can feel like a part of the group. However, the host people are always the same. There’s never anyone new.

I haven't gone on any trips yet but I will. My favorite event is a tossup between indoor skydiving and meeting Pauly Shore at the Improv on Comedy Night. I've been making suggestions to my event manager Alex whenever I come up with them. I tell my friends they ought to look into Events and Adventures because it's great. And I even met a few strangers while out on an event and they were asking me. So, I just told them a little bit about it and said that they should look into it.

Events and Adventures were going to be doing some interesting things that my friends don’t usually do. The new members' event was my first event and it was very fun and the person who led it was really good. Out of the six events that I have been to, the sailing event was my favorite and the hiking one was really good too. I went out to brunch, which was very nice. I went out to dinner once and I’m not really sure I want to do that again. I can eat with my friends anytime, but it’s the other things that I don’t have anyone to do anything with.

I have seven upcoming events planned. I’m planning to go to one of the things on Friday night and then on the following Friday. The people who have led the trips and events have been really nice and social and welcoming. They’re really good people even though they’re volunteers. In general, I’m satisfied with my experience. But I don’t think I’d recommend them to my friends because most of them are married already and they’re older. I would be happy if there’s actually a lot of people in their 50’s and 60’s during the surfing. I’m really old, so there’ll be no man there for me, which is too bad. There should be more men in their sixties doing this stuff. But I’m going to still do everything that I want to do there.

I like the snorkeling at the Mall of America and I also went to the Halloween bash at Lucky’s 13. Then I’ve done a few mingles, some bowling, and some rock climbing. My next event would be camping for Memorial Day. I've made friends with it. It’s one of those things where I could put myself out there and I just have to grow a pair and go.

It was an ice skating event and I was eager to see how it all worked out and who I'd meet. I've done at least 15 events since joining, from ice skating to dinner at different locations. I've also done hikes, bowling and movie nights, but I haven't done any trips. I enjoyed the wine tasting and I've done the fund-raising event three times as well. Then we're walking around the lake this coming Wednesday. The ages range from 22 and up, and it would depend on how active one would want to be. There are events every day and sometimes two per day on the weekends. Also, there's usually a good activity or two indoors if it's raining outside. So, it’s a nice variety of things to do. And you can pick and choose, which is nice. I've made three good friendships, so far. I’m looking forward to more events and meeting more people.

Right now, I am signed up for one thing which I'm not too excited about because it's dancing and I'm not a dancer but it should be fun. I really like having a place to be able to do things with people that I know.

However it's expensive. And the website seems really old-fashioned, too. It doesn’t seem very easy to use and not very accessible on the phone. An app would be nice and better integration and more modern, easy-to-use interface on the online. A mobile version of the app would be great as well. I’ve made new friends but not really potentials. I had a friend that had done Events & Adventures, and I joined the club in winter too. I was interested in being able to go do activities and adventures and not have to have it be a big commitment with the relationship. I wasn’t in a place where I wanted to date anybody so said I was going to do this and be around positive people who were doing things in their lives proactively. My first event was a holiday card making activity which was fun. That was a smaller group that had six people and everybody was welcoming. I was nervous then but I liked it. Meeting people is a common thing for me since I'm on sales. I have a friend who remarked that I was going there with strangers, but I answered that it didn't really feel like that to me.

I used to go to their events three times a week but I haven’t been to an event in a little while because I was busy with other things. So far, though, I’ve gone to 15 events. I like people and like all the events. But my favorite is the ice castle one ‘cause that was unique. We went out to Stillwater which is a town on the river. You can go for the day and go antiquing. It’s really pretty and it’s even better in the summer. People get their boats out in the summer and it’s really cool. I hope they have an event over there in the summer. We went there in the winter, though, and they built up this whole ice castle thing. You can walk through it and little kids can go sliding. It was really sweet.

I’ve made a lot of female friendships through Events & Adventures and that to me has been more valuable. I appreciate the friendships I made there. There are some nice guys but I don’t want to date any guys in there. It’s my activities place and it’s more valuable to me from that perspective. I like to keep it clean and keep the boundaries good. The Minnesota branch of Events & Adventures does such a good job but there are some minor things I would see as areas of improvement. It’s always tough to think of activities to do but maybe they can get more creative with the activities. I’m an outdoorsy person so maybe we could do more hiking or that kind of thing.

I was interested about meeting single women through Events & Adventures. I was nervous before my first event but it became better. It was with a younger crowd. I'm 46 years old and the men and the women were 35 or below. But if one is looking for a significant other, maybe later on down the road, you don't want to be wasting time with that age group. And that's one thing I like about the 35 and up thing because it separates the two together, where the younger crowds are there for the adventure more than poking up with somebody. Talking to other people out there seems like the older ones are looking for some long-term companionship. And I understand that because when you're 35 and above, your day-by-day is getting shorter than when you are younger and knows what you’re looking for because you got more experience that you’ve seen.

The bowling event was fun because at the beginning, when I was just learning and starting out, I go there and they introduced me to new people. I signed up an hour before and after that, I got to bowl with them and that’s pretty cool. The other one was learning how to do the swing dancing. That was fun at The Caves in Saint Paul. I thought it was a neat establishment to have it there and I couldn't believe that there was that many people that were into swing dancing. The only downfall about that was it was a little loud. So, once people go out and dance and then come back, it was a hard to communicate because the band was playing. Curling in Chaska was also a good time because I got to mingle with people and they were there too just to say that they did curling before because I've never done it. That was nice and it was the same crowd too.

I've talked to a couple gals but they are just searching it out. Maybe I'm not pushing myself enough. But on those events, it will happen where I don't want to be too pushy. But then, I don't want to be too laid back. In my case, if I was looking for more adventures, I would really push just to keep the events the same. But maybe do something different, like bowling for the older crowd and then all bowling from the younger crowd. Also, it's hard to talk to some women who just got divorced or separated within the last year because I already went down that road. I'm not ready to jump back into something and have it happen too quick twice in a row. Everybody is on the same page as everybody that one of them just keeps going to the event and they'll find it. I understand it's gonna take time.

Tonight, I'm going to a mingle and it's 35 and over. It's my third one and they're cool because I meet other people more my age, where I don't have a problem with talking to the younger group. There is also a walk around in Lake Calhoun on Wednesday. Then I'm going zip lining on Saturday. I've never done that before, but it looks neat. I'm also signed up to the murder mystery on Friday, but I'm on the waiting list. So, hopefully that will open up. Overall, for only being in it for three month, it’s been an interesting experience with Events & Adventures.

I was apprehensive before my first event with a small group of people doing Escape Room. It was a little far away from my place but it was in the area I'm familiar with so it was good. I also did snowshoeing which was my favorite, a dinner in Vancouver and then I went to a Saint Patty's day thing at a club downtown. There are a few girls who were nice and friendly. But it's very cliquey and the group was very segregated. Everyone knows each other and it's not very welcoming. I went into one event and left an hour later. The hosts aren't always great. They can be uninviting and catty. So, my experience is not good and I have not signed up for another event since.

I wouldn't recommend Events and Adventures at this point. The idea is great and they pick some interesting and new things to do all the time and I like that. I also like that they do things over all the areas of the lower mainland and there's something for everybody. However, they need to splurge and have talented people to be the host. People who are wonderful at letting newcomers feel welcome and making everyone feel a part of the group and getting people to intermingle. They like to use their members as hosts and that's a way to get out of paying people to do that. But with my experience, that's not the best move for the company. I've spent over $2,000 on this and I'm regretting it. I wish I hadn't done it but I'll go to more events and hopefully, my experience will improve the more I get to know people.

At first, I was a little bit nervous and the experience was nerve-racking, and then it’s simply getting into the swing of things. They had new members’ meetings and there were some people that had been it for a while but they were simply there for the event following but it was very welcoming so I felt comfortable. We did camping trips which were good. I love singing and we’ve also done a lot of karaoke. We’ve gone to movies and we also went to Vegas one time together. I've been to places and events that I wouldn't even look into on my own. I've made friends and also dated a couple of people. They didn’t really work out but we’re still cool.

Being a member has been an easier way to meet people that are like-minded, simply want to go out and have fun. It’s also easier to talk to people whether it be female or vice versa. It’s also not like that pressure moment where you’re in a club on your own or friends, and try and do all the work. You’re already on a level playing field with that person so you’re both there for the same event and then you can simply talk and take some of that pressure out.

I've gone to about 20 of their events. I liked the activities where there were more guys than girls because I want to find a significant other. It's fine to be with guys even though I enjoyed meeting some of the girls. We did fun activities like Topgolf and skeet shooting.

On the other hand, it was high-pressure at the very beginning to get into it. A lot of times, we try out first before we buy, like to having a one-month membership, or simply go as a guest to a couple of the events to see what they’re like. I couldn’t walk away and change mind. Also, I have some friends that might want to go to a couple of events. But if you came in first, they want you to sign up at the very beginning. When they say there is a dinner organized after the event and they suggest the place, I thought this was included in the event since I paid a ticket for the planetarium that was higher than the normal ticket that I'd pay if I go alone. But the host did not organize it well.

The restaurant that was on the website was permanently closed. We stayed ten minutes looking for another restaurant that was quite close but the parking was terrible. So, finally, I wrote to the host that I wasn't going because it wasn't well organized and I couldn't find any parking space. And he replied, "The dinner after is not included in the event." So if the dinner after is not included in the event, then it should not be on the website.

Now, when I show up I don't feel like a stranger so much. My experience has been good. I'm happy with Events & Adventures.

I moved to a city not knowing anybody. I heard about Events and Adventures on the radio and it's a cool way to meet people. My first event was reggae music in some restaurant. I was a little nervous because it was new but it was laid back pretty quickly. I have also been to bowling, dodgeball, trampoline, and I went to a country bar. I also have an upcoming event which is like a comedy club thing. It's been fun to meet new people. We've exchanged phone numbers and I am in contact with them outside of Events and Adventures.

I recently got divorced and Events & Adventures would be an interesting way to meet people. I have been a little nervous on my first event. It was a tour which was a bad idea. I didn't know anybody and when I got there, I didn't know what we were doing. There wasn't a lot of guidance through it. It was awful. I have done three events at the most but I haven't done any trip. None of the events have stood out as being or has been phenomenal. But, the favorite event I did was taking a boat ride with all the guys on the Houston Channel. I had the most fun out of that and had a good time. I made a couple of girl friends but I haven't met any guys.

I was a little bit disappointed in the cost of everything. After paying the membership fee and then paying additional for things, it was expensive for the different events. In some cases they tell us we're getting a discount but I'm not sure that we are. So, I've been cautious about what I've done to make sure I would enjoy it. I can't say that I'm dissatisfied with Events and Adventures but I would recommend someone be more cautious going into it.

Events & Adventures is a club that gets you to go out and do things. You're not going off and doing something yourself. There’s a group you can hang out with. And even if you don't know them very well, they’re all very accommodating and welcoming, which is the best thing about the whole thing and it doesn't matter if you know them or not. You've got yourself a whole bunch of new friends. Since joining Events and Adventures I've been to a lot of events. I ended up bailing on the first event that I signed up for. I was a bit nervous and I really didn't enjoy the vibe that people there gave off. But with the second event that I went to, everybody was really chill.

I try to aim now for six events a month. I've been here since August and I haven't always made it with all the rain but it's been a good number. My two favorite that we've done have both been up Mount Hermon Adventures. We did zip lining in December and that was at twilight. It was dark out and so that was really cool. Then, we went back there in January or February and we did a rope course adventure. I've also gone beer tasting, played beach volleyball and went to karaoke a couple of times. I've done bowling a number of times and last weekend I did archery tag which was amazing.

I've went went to six trips since I started attending late January, and I was very scared before my very first event. But the apprehension that I had decreased with each event that I went to. I enjoyed the hiking a great deal because I wanted to try to experience getting outdoors more as well as being more active. The horseback riding was also a lot of fun, and the paint night was really good too. I've made lots of friends and I have connected with somebody. I'm glad I did it.

So far, I've gone to four activities with Events and Adventures. I did the bowling thing that's the introduction one and I did others where we met at a bar or a restaurant. I also did a trivia night. Then there were two hiking events that were cancelled. I stopped going to events because it wasn't worth my time. There are no men that are in my age bracket. I'm 57 and when I talked to the salesperson, she told me that there are people of all ages who attend their events. But there isn't. There's a lot of women from their 40s and 50s, but the men are younger in their 30s and early 40s. So the women there that are in my age bracket, we just hangout. I got a lot of women's numbers and they're all experiencing the same thing. Events and Adventures should be advertised more for younger people and to be more transparent.

I really like that it's helped me get outside my comfort zone. My first event, the indoor surf city class, was really fun. I also did a self-defense class and some of us went to lunch afterwards, which was probably the most enjoyable I've done because it was a beautiful day and it was so much fun talking to people I didn't know. It was a little more attuned to me. I've done the bowling, the zombie run, the hike, the Cards Against Humanity games and the salsa dancing. I sign up for 6 months and when I called to cancel they said it was okay I just need to pay the contract for $1645.00 only after two months of using. Obviously I refuse that is not what they told me when I signed up. Now three years later a collection agency called and now I have $1,645 in my credit and I had excellent credit. Thanks to them I was refuse a credit I needed for something important. Thanks for ruining my credit. I still refuse to pay something I didn't use!!! Because you pay a monthly fee and doesn't include anything you end up paying more at all the events you go! So it's pointless. I meet my husband in match and cheaper!!!

They explained how things worked and it seemed like no big deal. There were people there to greet us and I started talking to other people. I just started so I've only been to four of their events. I did the yoga paddleboard which was my favorite, a ski trip, and the new meet-up meeting. There was also a game thing after that and the dodgeball trampoline. I’ve made some good acquaintances through Events & Adventures. This last one I attended, one of the guys was doing a side ski trip thing so I signed up with him to do it which was cool. It's been fun all in all.

Joining Events and Adventures was a way to get out and meet new people and do some activities that I liked to do, but wouldn't necessarily do them by myself. And it helps to possibly meet someone somewhere down the road that had the same interest that I do. I was a little nervous when I first joined an event because I didn't know anyone. The good thing was it was close to home and it was a very public place where even if I wasn't comfortable, I would've been comfortable anyway because it's a place I've been before. I went up to the front desk and they directed me to where my group was. Once I was over by the group, the coordinator was very accommodating and made sure that everyone knew I was new to make me feel welcome.

At this point, I've been to six or seven events. I travel a lot, so I was gone for a three-week time. I just got back and did two events this weekend and I have more planned for this week. I've only been a member since the end of January and I've enjoyed every one of the events I attended such as what we did yesterday at a glass fusion place. But it was mostly girls, so that defeats the purpose of possibly meeting someone. I also enjoyed my first time when we went to Main Event and we did laser tag and bowling. That was fun because it was very interactive and there were lots of guys and girls out there.

There's a wide range of activities, whether they be physical or not. Events and Adventures try to satisfy everybody's needs and they are satisfying mine as far as the variety of events that they offer. Unfortunately, I only made lady friends. I also noticed during the new members game night that most of the members are younger than I am, which was fine. But I keep hoping one of these times there will be more male participants that are in my age range. Other than that, I'm very happy with Events and Adventures and I would recommend it over and over again.

I joined the Events & Adventures club because it would narrow down who I want to hang out with, the fact that they are single or educated. I wasn't sure what to expect but I figured that the lady liked me when she signed me up and it was true. The girls are nice and older. But the guys were all awkward and weird and they'll immediately try to hit on you. They just seem to be there to get something. I was told they would be nice, younger guys, but that's not the case at all.

The only thing that's good is the two other girls that I met were really nice and they're all my age. So, I made a couple of friends. But they say that they have the same experience. They're like, "No. These guys are gross. Don't talk to any of them." And they said there's so many members. And I'm like, "Really? There's like 20 that are always the same awkward people." They lied to me. I feel like it's a scam.

Moreover, there's rarely events in my area. And it says like some you pay for, some they pay for but there's literally nothing they pay for. I'm paying for this service but every single thing I would go to, I pay for my food, my drinks, and for the activity. Nothing is free. I signed up mid-February and I've been to six events. The worst thing is that I paid for a specific calendar and the one I signed up for was $30 and then I cancelled it three days in advance because I realized I couldn't go. But it still says I owe $30.

I talked to someone from their accounting department to tell that that this is a mistake. I cancelled and didn't go to the event. It shows on my calendar that I cancelled it. But they said it doesn't matter. So I thought that's a scam. I still owe them $30 but I don't want to pay for it and I'm not sure what's gonna happen with that. In their end, it says that I cancelled three days after the event. But that's impossible because when I once chose a different event that I went to and tried to cancel it, it wouldn't let me because it's after the event. But they do not care.

But one of the few bright sides to this was this really cool indoor mini-golf event in San Francisco, and of course, you pay for your own entry into it. Some engineers created it and it's really cool. I would have never gone if I hadn't done Events and Adventures. But I'm paying for a calendar of events that I could do on my own. I can have a friend on my own.

I first heard of Events & Adventures on the radio and I got interested in going out and making new friends. But I almost didn't want to join because at first, I felt that it's a little pricey. But I know they have payment plans and that if I pay all upfront, it's cheaper. Before arriving for my first event, I was hoping people are friendly and when I got there, pretty much everybody's looking for the same thing. I like how they plan everything and then you just show up when you sign up for it. But they were also open to suggestions. There was a hang gliding event that I wanted to do but it filled up so fast that I didn't get to sign up for it. So, I said that they put that back on and the hosts told me they'll see what they can do after trying new things first.

I've been to around eight events and my favorite so far are the dancing ones. How to Moon was my very first one and that was so much fun. Then, there was also one that I forgot to read the itinerary and it was supposed to be formal but I dressed casually. So, I was a little out of place but I still had a good time and that was an amazing one also. I've made some new friends going to these events and when I brought a friend to an event while I was in Dallas, she met someone in the group and they're dating now. I'm open to meeting new people, but I haven't met someone yet and I'm not into rushing anything. Also, I feel like maybe if you meet someone and get married, then you're obligated to get out of it and that damages the fun for a little bit. But E & A has been good so far and I feel like they should have it everywhere. I've had a really good time, that's why I've recommended it to a bunch of friends.

My upcoming event is a Tinder tomorrow night. I've made some friends in the events I’ve joined but there's nobody whom I can text yet. Also, Alex, our event coordinator, was super and very good at what he does. He makes one at ease and welcome, treats one a friend, and makes sure that one is having a great time. I saw an ad on the SkyTrain station and I liked the idea about Events and Adventures. This matches my style and I also like to be open with people and get to know more friends. I'm very social so it was a great idea. I liked it and I looked forward to it. On my first event, I was hoping to find nice people and get to have a warm welcome, warm greetings and warm setting. From that moment on, the socializing, I have a little concern about it. We've chat from the beginning, each one had to do introductions of themselves just to break the ice and let everyone talk but it made everyone sitting there just stating their names and where they live. It's just a question and answer and doesn't look natural. We came there to hang out, chat and explore whatever the question comes up and not to feel obligated, just to fill in the blanks when the host wanted us to do that.

I have attended tons of events and adventures but my favorite ones were those that I have enjoyed the company, more than the event itself. So, restaurants and activities, I've done most of them and I don't have any enjoyment in the event itself. I had more enjoyment with the people that I hang out with. The company made the events enjoyable or not.

In the Events and Adventures, I found people are making groups within groups. It's like when I came here, I'm a single person and the first to come in but it wasn't even hard for me to blend into any group. Although, it defeats the purpose which is to hang out and sit together and get to know each one without barriers, without boundaries because that's what we're all there for. I also found that the people are sometimes a little bit conservatives and they just speak to the people that they know and that's it. However, we have signed up and I wanted to maximize the use of my membership. It was a new experience although not exciting to find what I'm expecting to find.

I was a bit nervous before arriving at my first event, which was a bike trip to Chicago, and I didn't know what to expect. The event, however, hot kinda canceled due to rain. Unfortunately, only three members had a bike and five other people didn't, so they had to go and rent. They said "go ahead" and we found out later that they tried to rent a bike but couldn't because the rental was closed. So, there were only three of us left biking. I was not very interested because I was looking for a bigger group.

One problem is that a lot of the events are in Chicago. I live in the suburbs and there aren't many events there. Nevertheless, when I renewed my membership, they gave me a discount for living far away. Despite this, the trips I have attended have been too many to count. I try to go once a week and I've been going for a year and a half. I've gone skydiving, line dancing and camping. I've also played volleyball, wallyball and archery tag. Also, I've attended the New Year's Eve, Halloween and 1920's Gangster parties. The skiing trips have been the best. I've made a lot of friends and gone on a couple of dates and I'm having a fun time.

I also went to their game nights at a bar, and it was fun. I used to like bowling on Fridays where they had new people, but they haven't been doing that for a long time now.

However, I haven't been there much in January and February because it feels very awkward in a lot of situations. Also, the same kind of people are going, and I don't feel like I belong there anymore. They haven't been offering things that I wanted to do, and with my last couple of experiences there, I wanted to shoot myself, so I didn't go. But I'll go to their events again. And one always got the host person, which is nice. So they're looking out for the member. I have done four or five events and the first one was a dinner. We did a meet and greet. A Light Festival at night on the weekend was another one. I've done Cards Against Humanity, which had many many disclaimers. It was hilarious, cool and most people joining the game were strangers but not after playing the game. The hosts were so good too. If one gets easily offended, he/she should forget playing it. I was trying to explain the game to a newbie but one has to play it to know how it's played.

My next event is a band and a happy hour on a Saturday. In the events I've attended, there are a couple of people that I've seen and whom I’m Facebook friends but we haven't done anything outside of that or haven't hooked up to do anything else. It's just a friendly group. I also love to say that Maggie in Phoenix, who is our lead person, is fantastic. We have a private Facebook page about asking us, "Hey, I heard about this" or "Heard about that. What do you think?" and we get to vote. Also, there are a lot of things to do whether it’s entertainment, hanging out and talking, and some other different activities in meeting new people.

I've been to three events, and my first event was scary but the people made me comfortable. And, I was not the only one that was first to be there. There were other people in the same situation who were just needing to go out and meet other people, instead of going home and be on the same route. I wasn’t crazy about my last one, though, because we sat in booths and I wasn't able to talk to people other than the three people in front of me. But I enjoyed the new event in a hotel. It was pretty cool and it's something that I wouldn't do myself on a Monday night. And I'm thinking about going to the Brazilian food thing next.

I was single and I figured that what I was doing in the past or the people I was with wasn’t working so I thought why not give something different a try and interact with people that I can get to know before I jump into a relationship and try to make it work out. I tried to attend activities by Events and Adventures as much as I could especially on the weekends depending on what they offer. Any kind of food event or active event, I try to be there. They have a variety of things to offer but a lot of their events are so late and they are in Houston. I work until the next day and then a lot of their stuff was drinking so I try to avoid the drinking part.

It was nice that I'm out doing stuff and meeting people but there was one particular person that has made it very miserable for at least four women in the group and they try to avoid different activities if that person's going to be there. But it was not the company’s fault ‘cause we haven’t complained about it. Other than that, it was definitely a different experience. I got to meet a lot of people and do things that I normally wouldn't do. Being a female, I’m not used to getting that much attention and Events and Adventures gets me out there. There were a lot of people that were interested in me and it was uncomfortable going to these events. Sometimes they start becoming more interested the more that they hang out in these groups, and sometimes it’s a little irritating.

Also, they say they do a background check on people and make sure they’re not married and that reassured me. But they don’t and that disappointed me ‘cause I found out a few of the people that were in the group were going through a divorce. Then I have two friends that have tried to submit paperwork saying that they no longer want to be in a contract with Events and Adventures and they both got denied. They still have to pay for three years and that’s a lot of money. I feel bad for these people that can’t get out of it but I was lucky enough to sign up for the shortest period there was. But the downfall to that is, I don’t get the best for my money.

At first, I was a little nervous because I am going in not knowing anybody but that's somewhat mitigated by knowing that you have to go and meet the host. I was calmed down by that. Now, I've been at it for about a year and probably have about two or three events a month. I've done the whitewater rafting, which is my favorite. It was out of town as well as the New Year's, which was on the island this year. In the first event we were camping but in the second case, the hotel was fabulous. We're doing Harrison Hot Springs next weekend. I did that last year as well and that hotel was great too. I also do a lot of the sports. I've done their axe throwing, volleyball, and wallyball. We also did whiskey tasting.

My experience has been more since I'm dating someone from the club. It sounds a little bit counterintuitive, but it's more of a friendship thing for me. I have also made about 10 or 12 close friends. I see them inside and outside of the club. So a lot of my friendships have kind of spanned over severe age gaps. And that's the reality of the club, so I wasn't expecting a lot younger of a crowd. And they find me a little bit of an older one, but that's been really great in creating friends in that crowd as well so that's been fine.

Events & Adventures was advertised on the radio in the early '90s so when I got divorced, it came up, and I went to join. The events and the way it was event-oriented was really good. I was really excited arriving at my first event then I got to know somebody and I got more comfortable. I loved the club and it was good. For me, it worked out great and it's one of the best things I ever did. I was doing about five events a month. I did the bonfires on the beach and then I really enjoyed the rappelling and zip line. Up in Murphys, we did the caverns and then we did some pistol shooting on an indoor range a couple of times. There were also different kinds of dancing, which were good. They were all great.

I made lots of friends. There isn't pressure to go out with somebody type of thing. The events are what it's more focused on, which I really like. I wasn't looking for someone special but there's a pretty awesome lady I met in the club right at the end of my membership and I'm seeing her pretty regular right now. My membership expired at the end of January but if I'm ever single again, the first thing I'm gonna do is to go back. It was a really fantastic experience and it got me out doing things that I may not have ever done before. Thus, I've told everybody I know about Events & Adventures.

I've attended four Events and Adventures activities. The first one I've been to was a bowling adventure, then a salsa night, SFMOMA and the last one was the Tahoe adventures. Both the bowling and Tahoe adventure were good. However, it's been somewhat disappointing since there aren’t as many of the opposite sex that I thought there might be, particularly at my age. There seems to be an age disparity on much of the things that I go to. But other than that, the experience has been good.

I was new to the area, so I thought Events and Adventures would be a good way to meet people. I haven't had a lot of experiences because of my work schedule but I've gone to three events - roller skating, goat yoga, and an exercise in the air with ropes and hoops in a place called Vertical Fix. I've talked to a few people but one thing I've noticed is it's mostly women going to these events and I'm looking to date men. I don’t feel that I'll probably find a significant other, but I'm okay with it because I'm still getting out and socializing. Events and Adventures is a great way to meet people and socialize. People are very friendly and the events are interesting. It gets me out of my house, so everything’s fine.

I liked the kind of structure or strategy of people getting together and doing fun things. Before I arrived at my first Events and Adventures event, I knew what to expect and I was comfortable. I had an interview with someone from the company and they gave me access to the internet and the calendars, and I had the chance to go over their ground rules. I have attended about 6 events over 6 months and I liked that they did a number of board game nights. Those were nice because they were typically a smaller group and I was able to talk to people easily. I also did a rooftop party and a couple of hikes.

However, I canceled my membership at the start of the month. The experience was good but not worth the money to continue. The concept is great but a lot of the events were in the city and I'm in the suburbs. A lot of people in the group had to travel from far distances. And if they were on week nights, it was really hard to attend with the traffic and everything. Events and Adventures could probably have a greater variety of locations. And because it is such a large group, I didn't necessarily see the same people from one event to the next. So, I didn't really get to develop the relationship that way.

Though some of the member hosts were really good, had been with the group for a while, and were organized, some of them were not. For one activity that I went to, they didn't send out an update until two hours before the event. It was an hour and a half's drive so I didn't find the group because the location was a large park. I ended up walking around by myself, which wasn't the point. And when I looked it up later, they said always double-check before an event. That's not always feasible when one is traveling from such a distance.

I would probably recommend Events and Adventures to somebody who is in the city because they could attend more events or if they are new and are looking to meeting more people. But for someone like me who works full-time and lives in the suburbs, I would tell them it is hard to make the activities and there might be better options for them.

I travel a lot and having some things to do when I was in and out of town sounded good. I'd moved from another state too and didn’t know many people and so I got interested to join Events and Adventures. I went to some events with friends before I joined the club so I was perfectly comfortable going to the first event. However, the first event was so different from any hikes and after that event, I was questioning whether I was gonna enjoy E&A. But this was many years ago, and I've been a member for more than 15 years now. I do 20 events a year, including go-karting as well as some of the summertime sunset cruises which I've enjoyed. I haven't particularly found significant others but I've made a good number of friends that I'm still friends with over the years.

However, I liked Events & Adventures quite a few years ago when we would have a place to gather during the week before an event at a theater like the 5th Avenue or Benaroya Hall. Before we go to something during a weekday night, it was a lot nicer when there was an optional gathering someplace where you could get a bite to eat or drink and mingle before you went into the darkened theater sitting in assigned seats. That’s because by the time the show is over on a Wednesday or Thursday night, nobody stays around to mingle. It doesn’t make for much of an event or an adventure if you just show up half an hour before an event standing around in a lobby and then you go and sit down in your assigned seats. Then you go through something that’s a couple of hours long, and then everybody heads to the bathroom and out different doors. The next thing you know, pretty much everybody’s gone.

Also, what we used to do worked really well when if you're going to the 5th Avenue Theatre, people would join up and mingle at Rock Bottom across the streets. Then people that couldn’t make it by that time could go ahead and get their tickets before a show. For people that work Downtown, it doesn’t make sense to drive home and then back into town. There are a lot of events in town during the week where people have to kill time until they can join up with the group, and often people wind up killing time by eating by themselves in the neighborhood or hanging out and having a drink in the neighborhood of where the event will be. That’s something I miss about E&A.

I joined Events & Adventures in 2013 as a lifetime member. I was interested in the events they have and to hang out with people. I went to events such as dancing, bowling, volleyball events, and concerts in New York City and now in San Francisco. My favorite event was the silent disco, treasure hunting with clues in Times Square.

Events & Adventures do a good job. It's a great concept of having events for singles but what I don't like, especially in San Francisco, is that they change the event coordinators way too often. Depending on the event coordinator, the quality of events drops or increases. Some are really awesome and very creative and some are just not quite and that changes basically every six months, so it doesn't help. But overall, it's a good, fun thing to do.

Events and Adventures did a lot of activities and it seemed like a great opportunity to both meet people and do things since I was still fairly new to the area. I was a little bit anxious the first time since I wasn’t sure what it was all about, but it changed after a few events where I started to meet and recognize people that I have seen before and then developed a comfort zone. Since joining I've gone to cooking at Anita's numerous times, and I recently did a tour of the baseball stadium here in Seattle. I've also done a number of party cruises and I've been to the Halloween parties. I used to enjoy the sailing outings that they had on the Mallory Todd. We also did a weekend sailing trip to the San Juans, and that was a lot of fun as well. I loved the event coordinator, but I'm also glad that they have a new event coordinator because it's now fresh.

Traveling was fine and it was organized well enough, but it's highly overpriced so I tend to avoid most trips because it can be done for much less. I've been with tour companies so I understand I can put in the itinerary and basically get the same trip with a tour company with a guide for approximately 40% to 50% off from what E&A charges. I know that unless I go with a singles group, tours tend to be couples-oriented and there's a different dynamic there, but it doesn’t change the fact that E&A overprices the trips. Overall, Events and Adventures is a good group that holds a real attraction for certain people who need to learn the area, meet new people and make new friends, whether you're new to town or coming out of a relationship and all of a sudden find that all your friends are married and unavailable. With them I get to meet new people virtually every time I go out to an outing or an event.

Everybody goes around and introduces themselves to each other so my fears were definitely allayed. Since I joined, I have done go-karting, shooting range, museum tour, 2 hikes, and whirlyball which was my favorite. Whatever nervousness I've felt about going through these events, it's never been proved to be real. I've always been welcomed and it's a friendly bunch of people. One thing that I wanted to do this year was to get out and socialize more. And it has looked like Events and Adventures is going to be a very good choice for that. I tried to go to their events once a week but it didn't always happen, so I now do 2-3 a month. We have done the Fort Worth view, the trampoline park, bubble soccer, kayaking, trivia, and the young professionals meet. We also went to see the Rogue One movie and I have gone to the game night which is my favorite. We give feedback after each event, which is very good because it helps them not to go to a place that no one liked. I am looking to go to a game night this weekend and a party that I wanted to go to. So far, it's been positive with Events and Adventures. I have done things I never would've done without them.

I’ve attended about seven events though I haven’t attended any trips yet. I just went to the Nuts & Bolts party at the Cambria Hotel. I've also went to the Alhambra dinner and music showcase, the ice-skating at Maggie Daley Park and will be going to a Super Bowl party this Sunday. I've been married twice and I was interested in planned events where I didn't have to think about it and meeting people that are already assembled for me so I don't have to go and meet someone at a bar. I've been a member since 2010. During my first event with them, I was nervous but I was welcomed into the group. There was a host who was very nice too.

I've been to a lot of their events. I started out more in sports like volleyball, mingles and bowling. I then got into the camp fires and the fall events which I love. The fall party buses were fine. We do Halloween runs too where we go to different spook houses. We carved pumpkins at the office over wine and cookies, and then we feed starving children. I got a whole bunch of upcoming events scheduled such as the Super Bowl party I'm going to next week. I have pneumonia this week so I can't go anywhere, but I'm planning on going out on Sunday if I feel better. I like to paint pictures too and sometimes there's pottery. I also love game night and I do it every month.

I made a lot of friends through Events & Adventures. I heard that Events and Adventures probably made me a happier person because I had somewhere to go and I made some friends. However, we've had a few problems in the organization because they keep changing the venues. I signed up because an event is at a certain venue then I find out on the day of the event that they changed the venue. Also, sometimes it doesn't make sense because if you're going to have 50 people at an event, you want to put it where there's a parking lot. Sometimes they forget that when they put us downtown.

We used to have a little more seasoned person who ran the events. Now we have a younger person who is learning and it's going to take a while. Those aside, I have encouraged people at work to go to Events & Adventures too and check it out. I brought my son in 'cause he was divorced and he was really in need of getting out of the house and I told him what I was doing. We joined the same year and he ultimately married someone from the group.

I heard an ad about Events and Adventures on the radio and was interested in the activities as I'm really active. I was excited and hopeful. However, I wasn't impressed. The demographic was of those who are not into activities. I was the oldest person and I got the impression that it was a lot of younger guys who were recently transplanted here because one of the questions they asked when I joined was how long have I lived in the Twin City. They got a lot of members that are just passing through or relocated and that's not my case. Then, guys my age are not interested because they want to meet women at least 10 to 15 years younger than me.

When I signed up, I was assured that my demographic was the largest joining demographic. Well, I must be going to the wrong activity. I joined them at fall and I'm hoping that in the summer there's going to be more outdoor stuff that I like to do, such as canoeing. But they like go-karting, which a 30 some guy or girl would do. I have to pay for it, too, and I'm not going to waste my time doing that.

Another thing is, a lot of the activities center around alcohol. I did New Year's Eve and didn't stay in a hotel because it was expected that everybody would get smashed. I left before midnight and drove home because one nice guy came in late and I wanted to talk to him. He was a new member but he obviously didn't want to talk to me because he was my age.

Although we had a rollerblading activity at the new U.S. Bank Stadium that was organized by a woman I liked, who’s a little younger than me, and we had a cross-country skiing activity, a lot of the activities or events are focused over at the club at the west of Minneapolis. I'm sorry I don't have an extra $20 of gas and two hours to waste to drive to get to events that involve paying more money to drink. I'm not really turned on to that.

Additionally, I did a riverboat cruise on the Mississippi river, which I paid a lot of money for, and the organizer didn't meet us where we were told we'd meet. And then, for some reason, a couple of us missed the group and they were already on the boat, at a couple of tables that we couldn't sit around. We weren't even part of that group. Then I got stuck talking to an older member who told me how he almost hung himself because of abuse of his ex-wife. And I thought, "Oh, this is uplifting." I'm not paying for the privilege of being someone's therapist.

I'm sorry I signed on the dotted line. I feel that Events and Adventures misrepresented that there would be more men and women my age, or men interested in women my age. If I'm talking to a woman my age and in my situation, I'd say don't do it. If it's her daughter, she's 30 years old, and she likes to get-together with people and do things, yeah, go for it.

Sometimes we get together in the park and play football. Just this past weekend, I went to the Shedd Aquarium.

The one complaint I have about the club is you sign up for events and you have to pay right away to be able to attend. This makes sense because they have to pay vendors and other things. However, I have found that when I cancel one of them, it can sometimes be a headache to get my money back. I've had to call them several times to actually get them to credit my account for an event that I canceled on. They give me bank credit if I cancel within a certain time limit. There are also deposit events where I can pay $10 and if I go, I get my money back. I feel pretty good about those events. The club has been worth it and there have been a lot of fun and cool people. I dated a woman for about eight months. Also, there are people that I'm starting to get to know in the club. I'd like to get together with them outside the club because as much as I enjoy Events & Adventures, it's not something I'm planning on being part of my entire life.

I'm single again now and I realized that I was looking for women in the same places and not finding anything, so I figured I would try something different. Then I found out that Events & Adventures is a social event and is a whole, big thing, besides just dating. So far, I've attended about five events and trips. My overall favorite would probably be the New Year's Eve party which was my first event. I'm outgoing and I was excited to walk into a new environment. The only thing that's weird was that when I first showed up, I was on time but there were only five people there and I was not geared to slow down to have that. I wanted more because it was New Year's Eve and I was ready to party. So, I went to another establishment and had a couple cocktails and went back. After I came back, there were about 30 people and it was cool. I mingled, danced, and did my thing.

I find that the more enjoyable part of Events & Adventures is the after-the-event get-togethers, which are more sociable and entertaining. I like bowling and we went bowling as a newcomer, and it was fun. But I was on one lane and there were two other lanes of people, and they interacted a little more. We went to a bar after we got done bowling, and then that was a little more enjoyable than sitting there in a bowling environment. However, I won't partake in dance classes anymore, because that wasn't what I wanted to do. But everything else is good. How they've arranged things is perfect. I went to the circus at the Alwun House in Phoenix for a couple of weeks and the performances were good, but it wasn't worth three hours of performance. You can only see people play with fire and a ball so many times, three times max. But that wasn't Events & Adventures' fault.

I have found new friends and met new people that I talked to at Events & Adventures, but I have not yet communicated with any of these people outside of a group event. I've only been there for a month. But so far, I enjoy it. On the whole, it was interesting, fun, and adventurous. I've gone into different social environments and I've broken out of my normal social environment, which is good. I'd recommend them to a friend.

My experience with Events and Adventures has not been great. They advertise like a dating site but when I go there, it's a bunch of singles. I got interested in Events and Adventures because I thought it would be fun to go on an adventure and meet a cute, single guy. But the problem the way the contract is written is a guy just doesn't have to be married so technically he could still have a girlfriend. And when I was talking to other members, a lot of them were not happy and said Events and Adventures is disorganized.

When I signed the contract, I was fine with it because I had an office near me and I'm getting a good discount. But I had to leave out of town for an emergency and there are no Events & Adventures clubs around me and they won't consider giving me my money back. It's frustrating because they're freezing my account indefinitely until I move to a place where they have a club. I'm all out that money and I'm so mad as hell.

People need to be warned. If they're going to be in an area where there's an Events & Adventures office around them and if they don't want to meet anybody and only want to have a group of people to go out and do things with, then it is not a bad thing and they can get a nice discount. But, they are on the expensive side. I have to pay for their service and depending on the type of contract signed, I could be paying them way more than it's worth. In the future, I am hopefully going to have an Events & Adventures office around me but I'm only going to get my money back. I'm going to go in for the activity and then I'll leave as a protest.

I felt nervous during my first event with them but it got a lot easier about 15 minutes in as more people started arriving and the host was introducing everybody. Everybody was friendly, welcoming, excited and it didn't feel awkward.

I attended 15 of their events such as a couple of happy hour events. I went to the Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl which was a lot of fun, volleyball events, and hiking events. There were two art walks too where we walked around into different art galleries and went to a country dance club. I went a little crazy in February and signed up for a lot of stuff. This Sunday, we're doing a Super Bowl party and I'm going. Next week, there's a vintage Valentine's Day party with a 50s thing based on the movie Grease. They're also doing a trivia night later this month. There's a mechanical bull riding event and a karaoke event coming up. There are several restaurant events, dinners, and drinks too.

I made so many friends through Events & Adventures and we've even gotten together outside of E&A. I joined a hiking group that one of the members in E&A organizes on his own, gone to the movies with groups of people, and we've met up for March football. It's been really great. One of my co-workers referred me to Events & Adventures. It's low-pressure unlike one-on-one match-making, or dating, and that it has a variety of activities like indoor, outdoor, formal and some casual stuff. It's everything from dinner out to comedy, to chili cook-off, bowling, pool, day-hike, visiting the Amish in Arthur, Illinois, New Year's Eve party, dancing lessons. So, I was interested with the opportunity to do all kinds of different activities, some that I might already like and some that I might wan to try, and to meet all different people.

The first event I went to was CorePower Yoga in Lincoln Park. There were only a few people there so, there wasn't much social time, other than beforehand while we were waiting for everyone to gather and for the lesson to start. But during, everyone was pretty much focused on doing what the instructor said. Since then, I did more events. I still like doing occasionally events to interact with other people. But at some point, I gradually found that I was interested in doing other activities that allowed time for socialization and talking with people. I go to about six event per month.

I also did bowling sometime in the last couple of weeks in January, flag football in November, a hike at the Morton Arboretum in November, a day trip to St. Charles, a day trip to Arthur, Illinois. In December, I did every event they had going on between Christmas and New Year's just because I was off work. They also had ice skating at the Maggie Daley Ribbon in Downtown, Chicago. I haven't been ice skating since I played hockey in 5th and 6th grade. At first, it was a little awkward but I just did a lap, rested and then kept going. While I rested, I chatted with people. And with each time, it gets a little better and better and I was having more fun.

Then in January, I went to a dinner and belly dancing at Alhambra Palace, which was cool because I love Middle Eastern food and I was curious about belly dancing. They had such a variety of different ages, cultures, shapes and sizes of belly dancers and even men too. So women got to watch men belly dance too. Every now and then between sets, they would grab people from the audience to belly dance with them. The woman who was sitting next to me who was right on the edge of the dance floor gave them a run for their money. And seeing the guys belly dance, the men go, "Well, shoot! Why don't we do that?" So, I suggested, "Hey, let's have a belly dancing lesson event."

Recently, I did ballroom dance lessons at the Fred Astaire Studio in South Barrington, Hoffman Estates. I never had dance lessons before but when the schedule came out, and that was the first one that jumped out at me for January 19th. I'm like, "I need to do this." So, it was the first one that I signed up for. It was a little awkward at first, but they were really great because I wasn't the only one. There was a bunch of us, men and women. We were able to feel like learning and doing something competently in a fairly short order, and have fun and change dance partners frequently.

Each of us got to dance with each other several times which helped a lot with my confidence. Had a fun time that by the time the evening was over, I was ready to take up the studio on their offer of coming back for a private lesson, half off and a free dance party later. So, next Tuesday, I'm going for a private lesson. And then, the following Friday, I'm going back for a free dance party.

I don't have any friends besides the people I work with so I decided to try out Events and Adventures. I was born and raised in Arizona so I was looking for a way to go out and enjoy doing stuff with people. I was a bit nervous but excited before my first event which was laser tag. I haven't done laser tag in a long time so it was a lot of fun. Since then, I've gone to a lot of events. I really enjoy those where I go out with a larger group and then we break up into smaller groups such as the Biosphere or the haunted house. I haven't been on any real trips out of state but I've gone to different shows and mini golfing. For this month, I'm thinking of going to the Superbowl Potluck and the Food Truck Festival.

While I like that members can become hosts and I was interested in becoming a host, there were times like this magic show I went to, when I sat with hosts and ended up by myself during the entire 20-minute intermission, sitting there playing on my dead phone. They were all arguing about the different events and how stuff wasn't done right. It was really frustrating to be at an event where I felt like I was sitting by myself especially with how much money I pay for this. They should make sure that hosts focus on the event at hand. I wasn't offended but I was frustrated because I went home and when people asked me about it, I'd say "Oh, yeah, it was cool but I should have gone by myself". Nevertheless, I really love the group because it's a great way of doing things I enjoy with people who enjoy them. I always describe it as a place where you go with a group of strangers knowing you're going to have a good time.

I don't have to go if I don't want to. There's also a calendar and if I have nothing to do, I look at that and I go. I had lots of friends in the group and I dated some people there too. I also saw people get married at the very same group. All in all, it's been a very positive experience for me and I recommend Events & Adventures all the time.

Went on a couple of dates but that’s about it. But I’ve met a lot of awesome friends. Going to my first event, I was really excited. I always like meeting new people and hearing their stories so it wasn't awkward for me at all. I go to wallyball every two weeks and that always tops my list. The New Year’s Eve party was awesome too, as well as the events that we’ve never really tried before like going places I’ve never heard about or no one’s ever been or doing something the club hasn’t done before. Before, I wasn’t in a position to really seek a potential wife. I’m in a position now to do that, and it’s hard to do throughout the weekday because I do work long hours. But it’s awesome to be in a situation where events are already set up and I can just attend despite my hours. Tomorrow I'm going to do the wallyball again. I like attending the wallyball, but so far, the one I like the most is the Five Horses. But the most interesting one was this play at Alley Theatre here in Houston where a guy talked about how he was an elephant named Caesar. I've never been to the Alley Theatre and I'm glad I went.

I saw Events & Adventures on a website and have been a member since August. I live far away from most of the events, so it’s hard for me to attend but I like the hiking excursions that I've been able to be a part of. We went to the Biosphere in Tucson, outside Oracle, and that was fun. I've only been to 5-6 events and have made a few friends. I would recommend Events and Adventures but I would be hesitant to say it’s great for everybody.

When I first signed up, I was given the impression that it is a safe place but in some of the places we’ve gone out to lunch and after our hikes, my expectation was that people would have better behavior. Some of the guys are really out there in the way they talk around mixed company. I’ve been in conversations that have gone pretty vulgar and it's awkward. I had the illusion that maybe it was gonna be a little different scenery and it’s weird for me so I watched where we hang out and I looked for a little bit more comfortable arena. I don’t really feel one can meet a significant other in that kind of a scenario if one's looking to raise the bar in their life. That’s my only inhibition right now. So I keep it light and airy and go on hikes but I don’t go to other situations because I don’t feel very safe at that point that it's actually gonna stay right and appropriate.

I've always been very interested in meeting new people. With where I was in life, I wasn't meeting that many new people. So my goal right now, for being part of EA, is to make friends. I'm not necessarily looking for another relationship but if along the way I can meet new people to break out of my already existing circles that I have here, then why not? In my 2 months as a member, most of the ones that I’ve been to are meet-ups at bars. I did a new member's meet and greet down in San Jose, which turned into a bowling night. I went to the Pace Gallery one time and that was cool. It's an extremely modern art museum located in Palo Alto which is very high tech with a lot of digital graphs and digital designs. And tonight, I'm going to Oakland Zoo where it is lit up with Christmas lights.

So far, my favorite is the bowling night. I actually wasn't planning on attending. The girl that I drove up with, she and I both drove down from San Francisco to attend the new members group because we were both new members and we had met up at our first event together. We decided to drive down together to carpool. Originally, we weren't planning on staying for bowling. But then afterwards, of the people who were there who had attended the new members meeting, a good portion of them were staying, and so, we stayed and it ended up being a lot of fun. I, personally, didn't bowl. I just sat there and drank but I had a lot of fun making commentary, just talking to everyone. And it ended up being a fun time.

I was unsure of what’s going on before I went to my first event because I’m newly divorced then it changed after that. I attended about 7 events. I went to a jazz night towards Halloween. The Paintball was fun and the Stars game was okay. I’ve done Game Night and I’ve met up at the Perot Museum. Then I went to a trampoline park and that was fun as well. We played volleyball there and you can’t do that by yourself. I’m just testing my waters on how that all works and haven't made any friends yet. I didn’t realize that some of the contacts are really done through the Facebook site afterward. It’s the logistics of it because before you sign up, you can’t find out who’s already going, which is understandable.

In general, Events and Adventures has been pretty good. I understand what the expectations are. It’s obviously not a dating site but more of a social club, and that’s what I’m realizing that I need to learn how to interact, get out, and meet new people. If I’ve been going into this just wanting to find a date, then my expectations would not have been met. But I knew that I needed something else than that and so it's good. However, it’s pretty expensive and that's my biggest issue. It’s not for everybody. But I like the mix of events and enjoy it. I’m satisfied.

The process of joining was a little too lengthy for me but I guess they have to be thorough. The first event I did was the bowladrome. I've also done two of these lunch parties, volleyball and a barbecue. I went hiking, too. I was really looking forward to the trampoline dodge ball. That’s the one that I think would have been my favorite, but we signed up and then they said they didn’t have enough signups so they canceled it. And when they moved it to a Saturday morning, it wasn’t convenient, so I couldn’t go. The activities will generally appeal to a younger audience of people. I'm 41 but I still enjoy all those things.

I like that Events & Adventures have constant things going on and you’re out doing actual things, not online. I was nervous the first time I arrived in their event. I went with five events so far--game night, movie, the painting party, sand volleyball and among them the game night was my favorite. I’ve met a few people there and I’d call them acquaintances. It’s really designed to make friends because it’s about 70 percent girls, which is fine. I know people meet someone eventually and date. They might have guys join it but they don’t necessarily stick with it.

You go to an event and there would be 30 people there in which there might only be three guys among them. Now obviously, if you go to a sporting event, there are probably more guys. But it’s designed to give singles a place to do things. To me, it’s definitely more of a social thing. It’s not like the people that run it introduce you or put you in touch with specific guys. They do have social media, but almost nobody uses it other than the administrators. I was never led to believe that it was like some super dating and I was never disappointed. I joined to make friends. You just need to know what you’re getting into.

My friends and I were on the same old routine every Friday and Saturday and I figured I could get out and see more with a bunch of new people. So I joined the Events & Adventures group in the Washington D.C., Maryland area. Then I moved to my current group here. I'm 30 years old and it's harder to make friends when I move to a new place and Events & Adventures was here so I joined back.

I was nervous before arriving at my first event back then. I was going to an ice-breaker with an average of about 90 people at the time. It's a little overwhelming but I was open-minded about it and it didn't take me long to acclimate. I used to do three of four events a week in my first group. I toned it down a little but should be getting back up to at least three a week here again soon. I’ve done some of the most fun activities I’ve ever had with complete strangers, all doing the same thing I was doing. I have gone white water rafting, really enjoy camping with the big groups and like all the outdoor activity trips, but the coolest and best experience I had was the jet boarding and jet packing. It’s fantastic and a little spendy but one is gonna enjoy it if he/she does it.

I’ve met a lot of people that I do things with in the group. If a Saturday or a Sunday event doesn’t do it for us, we’ll go watch a game together or go out and take a walk around one of the lakes that we’re doing with the group. I also dated one girl from the group but she had to move. Events & Adventures got rid of the person that was signing people up and saying they're gonna find a date here. I knew coming into this that I'd get out of it what I put into it. Join up to make friends and things will happen if they're meant to happen.

I would say that when people sign up, especially new ones, the more they do it, the more they're gonna enjoy it. Our admin, Heather, likes it when I'm at events with a lot of new members because I've had a couple of years of experience and am one of the people that gets out and does all these things. I'm a spokesperson for the company. I promote the hell out of Events & Adventures. I really enjoy everything I've done in the group. Everything’s casual and there’s no pressure situation. It’s not an awkward blind date. It’s fun.

One of the things that would improve the whole service that Events & Adventures provides is to have more events that are more separated by age groups, like 40s and 30s and 20s because I see that there is an age gap with everyone. In certain events, age doesn't matter, but in others, when I'm trying to socialize, the persons in their 40s are not going to have as much in common with someone that's in their late 20s or early 30s.

I asked all the questions in advance and was told that their members are 60 percent female. However, it's actually about 90 percent female.

I also found out that one of the hosts is not single and that bothers me. He hosts all the events and that was very easy to figure out via Facebook because the hosts are members. I'm waiting to not be so fuming pissed off and if I was not in such a binding contract, I would be going in there trying to get my money back. I've also consulted a lawyer. I keep hearing the radio commercials on my Pandora and I want to throw my phone out the window because it's ridiculous.

And the age range of the members was what really got to me. The lady told me that most people are between 29 and 39. But I did 10 events in 30 days and I met a 65-year-old man. I'm 34 and that's not what I'm looking for. On top of it, where does their money go to? There has been nothing included in anything. There's not even a discount and they don't make phone calls to get group discounts. Every other person told us that they've had to change their view of Events & Adventures and turn it into something else. Since I joined with my best friend, I turned it into a fun experience.

They were both eleven-day trips. They also had us meet at a central location in New York. We also got together which was okay, but it could be better. There are standard touristy tour bus tours that we can choose to go on or not. Most people go most days, and they're a lot of fun. They get all the touristy stuff out of the way. Then we've got free time in the afternoon and evenings to explore the cities and nightlife. I've also participated in the Seattle Symphony, volleyball, whirly ball, trampoline dodge ball, bonfires at Golden Gardens and Alki Beach, and Comedy Night at Emirates.

With Events & Adventures, I could do things and meet up with people instead of talking to them via fax or messaging. It was fun and relaxing. I've had new experiences and it was all-around a good time. I got out of it what I put into it. I was a bit nervous on my first event, the orientation, since I didn't know what to expect. But I’ve been comfortable enough since I was interviewed and everybody else was interviewed and went through the screening. I didn’t know that it was gonna be that fast. Right after the orientation, we went bowling and people tried to get to know me in a genuine sense.

I have since gone camping twice, and I now go to two activities in a week since I joined in April. The Wildman Adventure camping trip has been my favorite because we did activities that I have not done before. The weekend was full of activities and the camper that hosted us did a good job. It was fun and we were in a good spot. We didn’t have to worry about food because that was part of the whole package deal. The food was good and there was a lot. I also signed up for upcoming hikes and I have my weekly volleyball. I’ve made a lot of new friends. It's nice to be around a commune of people who have careers and their life is going well. I don't feel like they are talking to like just to sleep with me.

The fourth of July party was fun too. I definitely made some new friends. I would like to be able to register for October events but my account is blocked. I can’t register until the end of the month which really sucks. The whole user-friendliness of the website and the registration process is wonky. It distracts a little the value that I feel I'm getting out of what I pay for as part of the club.

I got interested with Events & Adventures since I like doing fun things and getting off my couch. On the day that I signed up, I was at my first event about four hours later, which was the orientation and game night. So I didn't have a chance to think about it. Then I attended three events last week, another 3 events the weekend before that, one last night, and two this weekend. I've done game night, Pedal Pub party, sand volleyball, orienteering, a hike, the Dueling Piano Bar, and when there was a glitch on the Pedal Pub once, we went on a pub crawl of our own walking around. Pete's Piano Bar is definitely the most fun at all of them so far. I also cannot wait for the bowling. But I lost track of quite a few events and have not had a chance to do a trip yet. I have found some friends and I am loving it so it's definitely a lot of fun and keeping me active.

I heard about Events & Adventures on the radio at 2 o'clock in the morning on a cold February going back to Montana. At first, I was skeptical. I heard it again and I let myself go to see what it's about. So, I pretty much scheduled online and came in and then I found out really what it was about and what it all entailed and gave them a try. What encouraged me to want to become a member was all the activities that I had no clue existed here.

I've only been a member since May, and, right off the bat, I went on two camping trips. I've done almost a hundred events by now. I was pretty calm and casual about the first event. I did six years in the active duty of the military, so I was used to just jumping into things and not knowing what to expect, but hope for the best. So, I was pretty excited to get in my first event and then I got there and met the host, who is now a good friend of mine. She introduced me to everyone,

we played volleyball and it was a blast. Furthermore, the host always knows how to make everyone feel welcome. I got to witness it firsthand with new members always coming in and how anxious they look. When they meet the host, they start meeting everyone right off the bat before the event even starts. Everyone's calm and it's like everyone's known each other forever.

I never tubed before and didn't know what the New Braunfels Memorial Day tubing and camping trip all entailed, and it was my favorite trip so far. I now made friends in Dallas. My network had grown pretty much overnight on my first big event - that makes Events and Adventures great. The ones that I've gone to overnight, which have mainly been the camping ones, have never been a disappointment. I have recommended Events and Adventures to friends and then they decided to up and leave Houston.

My social circle shrank considerably after going through a divorce. I wanted to new people so I signed up with Events and Adventures. I was excited the day that I signed up and I went to an event that night. It was a meet and greet at The Perch, Chandler. When I got there, I was a little nervous because I wasn't sure what to expect. By the time I found where everybody was and sat down, everybody was saying hi and started to talk right away.

I already did about nine events. I enjoyed the indoor skydiving, bowling was really fun, pickleball was pretty cool, and volleyball was awesome. There hasn't been anything that I've been to that I was bummed about. And then Monday is BYOB painting, Tuesday is pickleball again, and I'm signed up for something on Wednesday. I've got a busy week next week. The activities made by Events & Adventures has been fun. I'm enjoying myself - I even hang out with some people outside of the club a couple of times. I definitely made some friends. I am single and it's great if something happens, but it’s not the priority at this point. In addition, the people that run the place are pretty cool and I definitely like the coordinators. Everybody's been very helpful, so I definitely dig the experience. It's an entertaining experience.

I was already living a lifestyle of Events & Adventures. It was just that I don't have the time to always plan my own event anymore because of work. The people I live with suggested Events and Adventures for me when somebody heard their commercial on the radio. I felt excited and happy when I went to my first event. It was a mishap and was unexpected. It was Drag Queen Bingo. The group was gone, like they weren't there, but we still had a good time. We still mingled, talked, and got to know each other. We ate sushi, and it was still fun.

I was going to a lot of events. My favorite was the art gallery, and what I liked about it the most was it was an actual member who showed his work. It was cool to see a member's work and get to know him as an artist. It was also cool to talk to him as well as other people who were there. I've also gone to a dinner and a movie, and I've been to a baseball game. I went to a camping trip too. I pretty much do a little bit of everything. I had about 40 events in my first couple of months before I finally slowed down. I have a couple of people that I'm still in contact with even without the event.

You have to pay out of pocket for ALL activities that are not in the clubhouse. The refund period is way too short. People don't give out contact info at events and you almost never see them again at other events.

I like the fact that Events and Adventures has activities almost everyday of the month. It allows me to pick and choose when I’m available to go and join one. I felt neutral before getting into my first event with them. I was feeling it out at first, trying to see if it was going to be a good fit or not. So far, I've only attended one event. It was a new members’ icebreaker. Unfortunately, Army socked me with new training and it’s going to take me out for about 14 weeks. So I’m going to end up having to cancel my membership.

I made friends but I didn’t get any phone numbers. Nonetheless, I met some great people. If I end up being stationed back around the Houston area, I definitely would sign up again. I like that they provide more open atmosphere, that there’s no schedules or constraints to the activities that we did at the meet and greet. They had a lot of options available and let us go about doing it how we wanted. They had board games, ping pong tables, card games and they just let us do our own thing and then we meet other people.

I've been to 15 events and my favorite was when we had a game night one night. It was pretty fun - just hanging out and playing the game. Mostly I’ve been to dinners and happy hours. We went to skeet shooting last week. I’m not signed up for anything yet right now, but there’s a party boat on Sunday I’m looking at and that sounds pretty good. Also, they have a lot of events and most of them are free which is good, but they need to get more people. It’s usually the same 20 or 30 people coming to every event even though their website shows 2,000 members. They should send out emails and say, “Hey! We haven’t seen you for a while. Please come out.” I’m pretty happy with Events and Adventures, but the only bad thing about it was the price.

One thing I like about Events and Adventures is that they host these exciting activities that mostly I like getting involved in, like skydiving and sailboats, things that are not really on the normal routine a lot. I attended about 10 events in a span of two years. I was feeling awkward attending some of the events because people were single like me and also a little bit nervous. It was hard to connect with people who attend to these events at times.

My favorite event was the dog sledding where we went up to Duluth. The travel was two hours and it was a group ride, which was nice. On the way there, I had a nice conversation with the other people. But the thing is, they were older than me. Then when we got there, I love their educating us and I love how they allow us to train us how to get the dog ready go on the sled, getting us involved with the dogs. I wish we could ride it for just a little bit longer. But then again, it was more of an introduction. There was also a big racing horse there and it was the first time I ever got close to one.

I also went to karaoke. While waiting for my turn, I was talking around with others in the bar. And it did feel awkward because there are people who are just standing there, all nervous and didn’t wanna talk. They only talked to someone who they felt most comfortable, while some were not even willing to introduce themselves. I also attended a Latino dance class and other ones that I just signed up for but was unable to attend. I feel disappointed that I didn't get refunded for those.

Overall, I love the events. They are exciting and fun but getting involved with new people that I don’t know made the events dead. The down part is talking and trying to get along with other people who were nervous or were there to make a friendship. The open up atmosphere is not really open to people. I feel the host could’ve done better in getting people to socialize or make everyone at ease.

I was in a long relationship that ended back in 2004 and it did not go well. And so I took some time off out of the dating scene and focused on myself for a few years. And then I decided to start checking out the dating scene a little bit. I tried several dating sites like Match, eHarmony, IJL, OkCupid, Tinder and Bumble but decided to go with Events & Adventures, which I had been considering for quite some time. I went in, had an interview, and signed up. The gal that interviewed me was very clear in her communication that this isn’t a hook up club but an opportunity for people to get out, make new friends, try new things.

There was a host here in the Seattle Chapter that was really positive considering everything he has to deal with. I’m very impressed by his work. However, I had a really bad experience with a host on my third event. I showed up on a poker night but the person who was going to put on the event passed away, and so they turned it into a mingle at a bar. The host didn’t have any signage, which was fine because I just went up and said, “Hey, I’m here for the Events & Adventures.” They said, “Oh, it’s upstairs in the back corner.” I signed in, ran to the restroom and when I came back, I got into a conversation with the host. He said, “Events & Adventures is for desperate people.” And that the salespeople who got me to sign up are supposed to hype it up.

I was actually very upset about that so I said, “Well, I have to disagree. I’m not really desperate because I have a very large and a lot of good friends. I know all of them and I’ve met all of them and try to meet new people.” It’s not even about the activities because I do most of the activities that Events & Adventures does, but I’m trying to get to meet new people. And so he was like, “Yeah. Well, if you meet and if you see any good, nice guys, attractive guys or good catches, you kinda have to be there like right when they start to try and snatch them up before anybody else does because otherwise they’re gonna go off and they’re just gonna get snatched up by someone else really, really fast.”

A part of me thinks that Events & Adventures just needs a warm body to coordinate the logistics at the time of the event. And often times the hosts, other than the introduction and signing in, are very easy to ignore or avoid if I don’t want to be around them. And then I got to know other hosts and found that that was not a consistent perspective with other hosts.

I’ve realized that I’m not going to meet a love interest, but I have made some really good friends. In fact, I’m preparing for a dinner that I’m hosting at my home for about seven other people that I have met through Events & Adventures. Me and a friend from E&A also signed up for the Cuba trip in January which I'm really excited about.

My membership isn’t even up until late next year, and I’ve already thought about whether or not to sign up again. If I’m going to stay, I might as well just pay for a lifetime membership because of the trips and the convenience of having somebody else plan them. It’s good for what it is and it’s better than It’s Just Lunch. They accomplish what they need but they need to work on recruiting better guys because it’s mostly girls and some are not always very pleasant to be around at events. There have been times that I have decided not to go to an event because there are people I don’t enjoy being around. But all in all, I'm satisfied with E&A for at least making the best effort to fulfill its purpose.

I'm thinking about doing the Cuba trip but from looking at the prices, they are charging about double what it should cost. They should do a better job of pricing their trips. I recommend them to other people, but it's always with the caveat that one won't get a discount on any of the events. A lot of the new people I meet are always disappointed that they pay so much to be a member and they think they're gonna get discounts on events but they don't. Going out and meeting other people is just a good way to expand my search.

The laser tag was my favorite. I also went to volleyball, hiking and trampoline dodge ball. The trampoline dodgeball was fun until I hurt my knee. Sometimes the events were really good and sometimes bad and sometimes just okay. But I have to realize that it's not going to be rainbows and really when I meet people, sometimes it works well and sometimes not. I just have to be okay with that.

I've had a lot of weird experiences with people. It seems like a lot of the clubs were nice but at the same time, I find myself having a rougher time with people than I would have hoped. I've only been part of this for a few months. I want to find somebody because I'm having the best year of my entire life and happier than I've ever been. I want to go out more, I go to parties and meet a bunch of wonderful people. If I meet a really great person here, I'm happy. If I meet them somewhere else, I'm just happy. We also went rafting on the Chilliwack River, which is one of the ones that Marco in his advertisements talks about in my local area that he really likes. I went out there on Friday night and we camped overnight and went rafting Saturday. Then we had dinner and hung around the fire on Saturday evening. It was good and it’s probably my best event yet.

We went for brunch down in English Bay, Vancouver one time and on Wednesday, we're going to live music night in White Rock, a little beach town near where I live. There’s been a couple of other events that I would’ve liked to have done but sometimes the time or distance doesn’t work right. And then I've frozen my membership for six months since I’m traveling in September ‘till March. It's good that I have the ability to freeze my membership.

With Events & Adventures, people are in the friend zone right from the get-go. Sometimes it might be challenging to get out of the friend zone unless they really make that connection. For me, it’s more of being able to go out and do things when all my friends are married and have kids and I don’t want to go to a pub or event by myself.

I was single so I wanted to get out there more and Events and Adventures sounded like a good idea to do that. I've done a few events like barbecues and crawfish festivals at the clubhouse. We've also done the happy hour bars and poker night, and I just signed up for top golf tonight. It's a great atmosphere to meet people and it's not as hectic as one would seem. You don't know what to expect at first, but once you get the hang of it you're not so nervous about going through the events anymore and it's fun. You get to just talk to people and do all these things that are planned and just have a good time.

I joined towards the end of March and I've been doing about two events every week. We went hang gliding which was a lot of fun. I'm signed up for a trip to The Amazon on October so I'm excited about that. I've also done volleyball, wallyball, different socials and different bars, and dancing nights. I've definitely made some more friends so far. It's overall been pretty good and well-coordinated. You can do a few things at the clubhouse that they started and it seems like a pretty entertaining crew.

I was frustrated with the town I live in. The counselor that I go to recommended that I check out Events & Adventures. I'm single and trying to meet people. I felt excited at my first event and have done about five events with them. My favorites were the dinner cruise and Cowboy Jack’s which were fun. I also went to karaoke. I'm going white water rafting, zip line and camping this weekend.

However, there are a few things that I would like to have changed. I live in Rochester and everything is in the city. I was told that there were 3,200 members but I found that there are only 200 active ones. I'm disappointed that I paid quite a bit of money to meet more people. Also, the events have been 80 to 100 miles away from me, so I'm traveling 200 miles literally. I went to two events one weekend which was 400 miles travel from Rochester. I work until 5:30 and a lot of the events have been starting at around 6:30, and I'm not able to get to them.

I would also like the events to be at places where there's going to be minimal people. There were six persons at the last event that I drove 75 miles to get to and for that few people, the venue was really hard to talk and it was very loud. There was no option of meeting other people at the venue. I'd like to have a place where it's a popular one so that if nobody shows up for events, there'd be others that I could try to meet or talk to. But there were a couple of the leaders that were really fired up and good. They really tried hard to make the events successful and picked a good place we could go to.

The first time, I received no notification, no communication that there were issues with my payment method. I only got an email when the account was placed in collections. I called several times and left many messages/emails with the company over a span of six weeks before someone ever called me to resolve the issue.

I've searched the site for contact information - there is none. And apparently, "Rebecca" is the only one who works in member services as I can never locate someone other than her to get assistance. Good luck getting her to call you back. Recently, my bank re-issued its members new chipped cards. I have been proactive in trying to reach them to update my info. Here we are, many unanswered messages and two months later and still no call. I'm sure this will land in collections again. Rebecca's customer service has been abysmal and non-existent. I shouldn't have to fear this being reported to the credit bureaus and my credit score being damaged because that company doesn't have their stuff together. Especially when I've made every attempt to contact them. They need better, more responsive support. They need more transparency, and they need to make it easier to find someone talk to who can help me.

A friend of mine knew a little bit about Events & Adventures, but wasn’t one of the members then. She had mentioned it way back and I kept it in my phone messages. When I went back and looked it up, I finally decided to check into it. I was interested in finding people to do things with because I moved to Houston a couple of years ago, met people but not a lot of people to do things with, so I was just anxious to have partners just to get me out.

So far, I have attended three events and during the first one, I was excited to finally meet people who do the same thing as me and make new friends. I missed the icebreaker that they had because of the weather but made it to the games right afterwards. I ended up spending the evening with everyone with some potluck and playing games. And I noticed two people that went to go down the road, so I thought I’d hang out with them just to continue the night. I made two more friends that way so it turned out to be a good night.

I only saw one of them at the third event I went to. I figured I would have to see them a little bit more before things get to be where I could call somebody and say, “Hey, do you want to go do something?” but right now, it’s just seeing people at the actual events. I’ve got one event signed up again for this coming weekend. So far, I’m doing quite well and I have been telling people about it and letting them know that I’m having a good time.

Someone at work told me about Events & Adventures and I was interested because of the casual events where we do some things and there's no pressure. At first, I was nervous, but I got more comfortable and felt better eventually. I've attended several events already. For St. Patrick's Day, I went to an Irish event where they had some people play in a band. I've been to a potluck at someone's house, I've gone bowling and have been to game nights, I've been to a tavern where the other one was down at the Elephant & Castle, and I went swing dancing for the first time which was fun. I'd like to do that again. Then I've gone for dinner somewhere.

I went to Telus World of Science which was a good one. It was an adult night out so they had beer and wine then we got to go through the science center in the evening. It was really pretty because it was down by Olympic Plaza and the Telus looked like a ball with all these lights around it so it reflects off the water because we were down by Vancouver there. That was really pretty. Recently, I did a Hawk Walk and that one was really good too. I enjoyed going to a bird conservatory. Now I'm about to go camping and I'm looking forward to that. It's nice that Events & Adventures takes care of everything and I just need to bring snacks and stuff.

I've met some people which had been great. There's a girl that lives about two doors down from me so we're going to carpool to the camping trip. And then another person that I met and talked with a bit is one of the event coordinators. I also met some guys which is good but I think everyone's still a bit nervous. Some people have just joined and I'm one of them. But all the interaction with people and getting to know them is nice.

One of the best things that I've done was to join the club and to take that risk. I was separated from my husband and it was hard. I've been married for 18 years and it was hard for me to know what it's like to go out dating and stuff. A friend of mine had told me to join eHarmony so I did, but then I couldn't handle it. Then I ended up joining the club which is something I feel more comfortable with, meeting people one-on-one rather than the online stuff so I cancelled my eHarmony account and just stayed in the Events & Adventures. I've also already recommended the club to someone else. I've done some things and I'm happy. I'm taking more risks which is good. Overall, It's been empowering because now I'm feeling more confident about myself and my ability to get out there and talk to people, have conversations, and things like that.

I joined Events and Adventures nearly seven years ago, and I have not regretted it! I joined because most of my friends were in relationships, married, and/or had families, and I wasn't getting out as much. I thought this was the perfect way to get out, have fun, and meet new people! I have made some fabulous friends in E&A, and there are so many events I love! Here in Minnesota, it can be tricky to find a lot of things to do, because if you wait five minutes, the weather changes! But our coordinator always tries her best to find something everyone can do, no matter what the weather!!

One of my favorite events is the Haunted House Party Bus! I have never missed it! I love any event where we can get outside during the summer, whether it's tubing down the river, pontooning on the lakes, or simply going for a hike. The one thing that would make it so much better would be an app for phones. There are so many people who use mainly their phones, so a user-friendly app would make sign-up SO MUCH EASIER!!! I would recommend this club to anyone!!

I needed to figure out a better way to get out and socialize outside of work. Events and Adventures is a better opportunity for it. I was nervous as all hell before arriving to the first event. That night after I got home, I had a change of mindset. Both during the sign-up period and then when I went to my actual first event, I got out of there as quick as I could, but then I decided that I have to give myself a push otherwise nobody’s going to. I’d been better off for it.

I've attended 20 events now, and volleyball has been my favorite so far. Additionally, I’ve done a couple of hikes. I’ve done football, volleyball, sand volleyball, and an amazing race. I’ve done three pool parties. I did a horror movie night, Friday the 13th. I've also done a couple of volunteer events - one at the Rescue Mission and one at the park gathering food. I’m going to a house museum tour tonight, I’m going to a bar thing tomorrow even though I don’t drink, and I’m doing the camping trip at the end of the month.

With Events and Adventures, my experience has been entertaining and fun, and I have made new friends. I would highly recommend it to anybody who’s in the same scenario whether single or divorced and don’t have a lot of time to get out and socialize. It was a Halloween party. It was great and it's my favorite. I plan on attending a sushi making class and going to the Oakland A's baseball game. But, the last event was a total bust. It was a charity ball for singles and it was here in San Francisco. It was billed as it was gonna be in a ballroom and very formal. But it was the worst venue. It was this dark conference room in a hotel. Just a squared boring room and it was almost pitch-black in there. People dressed like all kinds of stuff. There were jeans, the guys were not dressed formally and it was not a ballroom at all. Also the band and sound system were horrible. It was just like this pounding DJ, purple flashing lights. It was so tacky.

If I look at the pictures of the event, it looked like it was in this beautiful formal ballroom. It was just trash and very disappointing. I don’t think it was an Events & Adventures primary. They weren't the primary host of this event, it was like the single club. I wouldn't recommend Events and Adventures for people my age, it's much better for people in their 20s, 30s, 40s. But I'm still single and feels like a young person. It's okay for someone my age but not the greatest one and that’s more my fault than theirs. With my age, I'm professional, with lots of work and family responsibilities. I can't do as much. I don’t have as much free time or energy.

However, I'm not too keen on the fact that they won't let you cancel. They told us that upfront, but I thought there was going to be a lot of fun stuff to do. I live in the Mid-Cities and a lot of the stuff that they do is up in Far North Dallas. It's hard for me during the week or even on the weekends to get that far. Traffic is horrendous and it's going to be difficult for me to get to where they're having their events by 5:00 or 6:00. Then I'd have to drive all the way home, which is more than an hour from where I live. It's inconvenient.

They don’t seem to be doing a whole lot of activities closer to where I live. I've asked for a couple of things but nobody has ever responded to me. They’ve got a few things going on in Fort Worth but not as much. But every night a week, they have something going on in North Dallas. I'm very dissatisfied because of the amount that they charge and there's not a whole lot of stuff.

I have attended two events but there was a little bit of misunderstanding. The first one I went to was a new member thing. Then they had a deal afterwards, and that was counted for both of those. I then signed up for another event, and it was cancelled the day of. I wouldn't recommend Events and Adventures at this point.

I went to a cultural dinner for my first event with Events and Adventures. They contacted me beforehand and let me know where to meet and that somebody would be waiting to check me in. And when I arrived, there was somebody there and he knew exactly where to put us. I felt comfortable. I also did the whirlyball a couple months ago. It was a lot of fun and that was my favorite. There were about 60 people playing and I chatted with other people at the same time. It was a good mix.

My least favorite was the comedy club. I didn’t receive an email beforehand or a text, so I didn’t know where to meet. So I walked in and it was one where there were people from outside of E&A as well. I felt uncomfortable because I didn’t know who was part of E&A, and it wasn’t really my scene. And so I walked around and I was about to leave, but there were some people there that I had met at the previous event so I hung out with them for a little while. And then there were Syria jokes and 9/11 jokes, so I ended up leaving after about an hour.

I gave the Chicago E&A feedback about this and they called me and discussed this. One suggestion I have is if they can reduce membership fees or make more events free, I think it would definitely be very valuable for their customers. Because we pay so much to be a part of the club and then we still have to pay for almost every single event as well. And then the cooler events of course cost more.

Everybody at the club is single and I can go out to meet people and create new friends. I was nervous before my first event because I wasn't sure what to expect. After that event, everything felt great, and plausible - how everything could work out in the future with meeting new people and each experience is different. I've already gone to the History museum, the whirly ball, Trunk Club and Jazz Night and I like all of these events. I have met a couple of new friends but haven't met that significant other. It'll be nice to keep an open mind on it. I hope that they would have more events on the weekends because that's the only time I'm able to head up to Chicago and for a dance night. It's a pleasant experience for everybody and an adventure in itself.

A friend suggested that I check out Events and Adventures. I travel a lot for my job, so they do all the planning for me and it's easy to socialize. The first event was a good time and experience for mixing with people. It was the Pub Olympics, and was a good setup. I got to meet people and had a fun night. I'd been to half a dozen events where I've met lots of people. I'd recommend Events and Adventures.

I'm fairly happy with Events and Adventures. I haven’t been able to go to any events in the last two months because of a family emergency, but I think the price is too high for what we're getting. Also I live in Fort Worth so there are not a lot of things here, but overall it's pretty good.

Events & Adventures was a group that did a lot of different activities and as a single, I could go and do lots of different things. I was nervous but the whole process made me secure and comfortable in it. I've attended a lot of events with such a wide variety but my favorites are the whirlyball, the sand volleyball, the game nights. Events & Adventures is a great way to get out and meet new people. They offer different things to do and it’s been a lot of fun. I've made new friends, too. I’m looking into going to the Clipper event in Seattle to Vancouver but I can’t seem to connect with Events & Adventures and I’m not getting through. Nevertheless, it's been a great and fantastic experience with them.

I'm new to San Francisco, so I don't have any friends. I'm also single and hoping to meet somebody to date. A friend told me about Events & Adventures. So far I've been to four or five events, and my favorite is the ski weekend. I also did the hand gliding. I didn't know my ACL was torn at that point. Fortunately, I was okay but I've had to cancel a bunch of events. One other thing that I am upset about is that this was sold to me like I was going to be meeting lots of people who were professionals, but that has not been the case at all. After my second or third event, I realized this was just something to go do an activity. The people who were there were completely not in my league. I met some really crazy, weird people in the group and also a couple of nice women as friends. No men at all.

I also think that I ended up paying a lot more than other people did. I didn't know that this was some kind of a haggling negotiation for the price system. So I've gotten upset talking to other members and finding out that I paid a lot more money for the same thing. I understand that I can't cancel and get out of it. I just look at it as something to get to do things that I would never take the time to organize and do on my own. It's really not any kind of dating situation which was how it was represented to me when I signed up. But I've enjoyed many events.

The experience with Events and Adventures has been pretty good. I’m enjoying myself and I’ve had a lot of fun.

I had signed up for this almost 3 years ago. I went to one event and hated it! I had never used it thereafter and I never plan on ever using it. Since I went past the 3 days allowed to cancel, I could not cancel the contract. Per some incredibly rude guy with the accounting department, he said that I have to pay at least half of the contract price in order to release me from paying all of it. Since funds were tight, I could not afford to do so.

Now, that I have paid over 80% of the contract price ($745 left), I am told by a different person, Wendy, that I must pay $500 now and she will terminate that contract. What happened to what the other guy said? Her reply was "he no longer works here and he lied when he said that". Her attitude was beyond rude. She literally hung up the phone on me after she said "take it or leave it". That is how Events and Adventures treat their customers. The few times I have called their customer service trying to cancel this, I have encountered only RUDE people unwilling to help. I gave them over $3,500 for a service I never used and never will use. But their greed wants additional money from a customer who they know had never used their service. I am disgusted with them!

I was interested in meeting other single people who are active so I joined Events and Adventures. I attended a lot of activities - I did golf, hikes to Castle Rock, bar hop. I did a ropes course and I also went to the bar to watch MMA fight. Then I went skeet shooting and I really enjoyed that. My most favorite event was the one with the Amazing Race. I'm kayaking next week at the Elkhorn Slough and there's a World Day Camping in Sacramento that I'm attending, which includes a whitewater rafting. I also signed up for the rafting down the Grand Canyon trip in June. In August I'm joining the trip to Spain and I look forward to that. Events and Adventures is a great place to do things that are on my kick buckets list. I've also met friends, but not a significant other and the variety of guys in the club are pretty slim.

I'm 62 and I’m newly divorced. My friends took me to this bar because there were people my age there. I liked the fact that Events and Adventures screens people to see if they were married or if they had a criminal record. Turns out that they may not totally always do that, but still, I don’t have any complaints. I was nervous and excited on my first event. I didn’t know anybody but I venture out on my own anyway. People were very nice to me. They checked on me and made sure I was having a good time.

They should plan some trips with consideration that people may not want to go to Europe now and consider the mosquito issue down in the Caribbean. Even the State Department was warning people, "Do not travel to Europe now." Then I saw Rio coming up and I thought with the mosquito disease issue, who wants to go there? It’s a great destination but it’s the wrong time.

I’m going to the Pocket Theatre tomorrow night and then Saturday we’re going to a dance place. We went to the go-karts and I loved that. Events and Adventures gets me out and I do things I wouldn’t have normally done. I go to places and I always enjoy myself. I always have something at least once a week with Events and Adventures. It’s not the dating that I wanted but I am so happy with it for everything else. I’m making friends both male and female and they’re younger than me. They told me when I signed up that their largest demographic was 50’s. That may be true but that’s not what I’m seeing out there. I would recommend all my friends to Events and Adventures, with the caveat-- don’t go there thinking you’re going to get tons of dates but to have fun.

Meeting people, and enjoying and doing things drew me to Events & Adventures. I have been on a dozen trips and I want to go to the sailing event that's coming up. I also have the hiking planned, but the challenge on it is most of the hiking events have been on Sunday morning when I go to church. I also live in Pacifica and most of the events are either in the South Bay area or the other side of San Francisco. It's about an hour's drive plus the traffic makes getting to them sometimes difficult. Another challenge is that I'm 73 and most of the people are a lot younger.

Events and Adventures do a lot of activities and not just going out to eat all the time, so I joined them. I was anxious to meet some new people, hoping I would meet people my own age or approximately my age. I got a warm welcome and felt very comfortable, and talked to people that have been with the club for several years. They all seemed to enjoy it and told me to stick with it. I went to four events on the first month, three on the second month and I haven’t been able to do anything this past month. We met up at restaurants, we did a two-step country dancing at a bar, and I've been to the hockey game a couple of times. I like the indoor rock climbing the most. The overall experience has been good. For the most part, all the hosts and hostesses have been very friendly and welcoming.

Events and Adventures sounded like I would get the opportunity to try new things I’ve never done before and don’t do with my friends. During my first event, I was nervous and not sure if the leaders (they have photos so I know who I'm looking for) were going to be where they're supposed to be and if I was late or early. Now I try to average at least four events a month. My least favorite was going out eating. It's odd carrying on the conversation while I'm stuffing my mouth. The karaoke ones were fun because people seemed to be more relaxed and there were 30 people every time, which is a lot compared to the other events. The bigger the crowd, the more fun it is. Some of the peolpe though were not approachable. I didn't have fun at bowling considering the adults know how to bowl, but I enjoyed it because I've never done it before plus there were many people there.

I can't do any day stuff because I'm in school. So I have been limited to dinners. Date night is fun except that I need to invest in more recent games since some of the games were so old that not everyone was doing them. There seems to be more younger people than people of my age. I'm in the older bracket. Or maybe they just don't go to the events I go to. Events and Adventures needs to invest and update the equipment. I'm looking forward to what's coming up on the big sports thing. So my activities that I enjoy are coming up on the calendar.

I like the communications. They email if they had to change the venue. I love the private Facebook page because it's always accurate. At the last minute, I can look there if something has been changed or if something opens up that I thought was full. Photos of the activities were also posted. Sometimes I don’t go to events because I'm not sure, but because of the photos, I'm like "Oh I'll totally sign up for that next time." Their Facebook site is a great idea. Overall, Events and Adventures is fun and exactly what it says. It's an adventure because it's all new to me.
