Customer service sucks! Went to bed last. Customer service is appalling. Last night I had 118 GB of data including a plan I added Friday 9/12 2025. This morning (Sunday) I got a notice that all my data was gone. After being on the phone with a rep for over an hour nothing was resolved. How does that much data just disappear like that? I'm now switching to another company that has already shown themselves to be superior.

Agents don't comprehend English. Twice this week, callers have been told my phone is disconnected. It is not. But the agent kept telling me it was my location. My phone stays near my DESKTOP computer. It is always there. I do take it with me, most of the time, it is on my desk. Like this morning when the doc called me with blood results, and got the message my phone was disconnected. Earlier this week, couldn't send or receive. It's my location. It's my phone. I call bullshit. It's a connectivity issue, but they won't hear it. Hire Americans, who speak English as their first language so they can comprehend what's going on. It's way too stupid to insist it's my phone or location. Perish the thought they check their towers.

So on a basic use point, I didn't have complaints. We had a back up flip phone that I set up with automatic payments. I had the cheapest plan and a flip phone so I was obviously not expecting it to knock my socks off. The real joke was that there's no easy or clear way to cancel autopay or the phone line. I spent multiple days trying to figure out how to turn it off online, and when I finally thought I figured it out I had a notification it was about to autodraw. I finally called customer service and the line was so crackly I could barely hear the guy on the other end. So basically the frustration factor of canceling or pausing the line was so difficult it felt very scammy and I'm never getting a phone with them again (which I was planning to get phones for my kids).

We have had Tracfone for many years, however, this last month it has taken away our confidence in their online chat. The problems were endless changing to a new phone to preserve phone number and minutes. In the chat I was given the instructions that I would be transferred to a specialist to complete the transfer as there apparently were issues that they could not resolve. A screen popped up that instructed me to fill out a form for a $5 charge. Thinking I was still in Tracfone, I provided the visa info. It resulted in a membership in JUST ANSWERS??!!! It turns out that this is a $50 a month service to resolve all of your problems. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM!!!! Tracfone should never allow this!! So, although TF has been a reliable carrier, BEWARE of issues regarding "Bringing your own phone" even though it is unlocked!!!

Without a doubt the worst and most infuriating customer service ever. I have wasted so many hours and almost a week going around in circles with them to get a prepaid card added to my account. I had receipts from Walgreens that matched and they told me the card was no good. I had to repeat my story literally 7x. Finally they gave me ticket # to email pix and all kinds of info and said I'd get answer in 24 hours. Five days later I'm on the chats and phones for over 2 hours trying to get an update. No one seemed to know anything. A promised return a call left me hung up on because no one was available when THEY called ME. At long last, it got resolved but they had closed my ticket and didn't update me like they said. I'm almost convinced I got what I did just because I was persistent and getting pissed off. They will give you the worst runaround of your life. Not worth the cost.

Incompetent first of all. I went online to change a payment and setup auto renewal. Of course you couldn't do it online. You had to call. I explained to them my account, sim number, serial number and phone number and email. They said only way to verify my account was to give them the last two phone numbers I called. I advised this is a backup phone and I have not called anyone in the last 60 days. That being said they could not verify my account after all the info I gave them. They said they tried sending texts while doing this and I did not receive anything. So they said they couldn't help me. That being said the customer service sucks. Couldn't even access my phone or help me get the payment set up.

Flip phone screen after about 2 years went upside down and words/numbers backwards, I could still make and receive calls, so the screen was broken and so phone needed to be replaced. No Alcatel in store. Told Lively Jitterbug was compatible, then another customer service person said it wasn't. Repeated very very long hold times, once over 3 hours! Dropped call when waiting for a supervisor, and no return call back. I couldn't set up the Alcatel phone from Amazon because I have no Wi-fi signal. Continuous misinformation with the next customer service person saying the exact opposite. They required phone to be returned to be replaced, I told them no because I need phone for work and can't tell my employer what to do. Told "Rupert" to send me a free phone without returning mine or I'll go to another company and he said no! Asked for a supervisor and was told none was available and that they would say the same thing.
I asked "Rupert" how it would work if he told his supervisor/boss what to do? SILENCE! Then I asked him if he wanted my business? SILENCE!.. Tracfone was OK in the past, for example they used to replace a basic flip phone for free without you having to return yours. I think this is because of a new owner(s) and policy. About two months fighting with these people, with the extended hold times it took me a week just to get through to a customer service agent! Also time consuming and complex voice message maze! THE WORST BUSINESS OF ANY TYPE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN MY 69 YEAR LIFETIME! MAY THEY GO BANKRUPT ASAP! If they treat all of their customers this way I expect they will go bankrupt!

Trying to unlock my phone and I’m going on 3 weeks because they never sent an email for me to put codes in to unlock my phone and I have never had to do that before so I had no idea that was even part of the process. Can’t put a SIM card in from any other provider because it says network locked and all they say is we already unlocked your phone. Every time I call I start over with people. I’m on like my 15th call. I have been lied to so many times I can’t tell you. THIS COMPANY SUCKS!

They're affordable but at what cost. I spent an hour with CS unlocking a old phone. I gave it to a homeless man. Since the phone was on my account. They let them use my loyalty points. They make me drop a blood sample to access the account. This guy gets to use my points with ease. Worst part they refuse to fix it. No one cares about customer service anymore. Look at these ratings for example. This cheesy company could not care any less about people.

Horrible customer service. I purchased a phone and plan through their website. The phone was never delivered. I went to file a claim with UPS and they stated that the sender has to initiate the claim that they don't allow claims to be made from receivers for their phones. Tracfone sent me on the run around saying once it's to UPS hand it's not their problem anymore, that it's mine. So $147 in the trash and my device is stolen. Would not ever recommend ordering from them.

Tracfone customer service is a joke. Contact them regarding an issue, they drag out the time with the customer knowing that there's a time limit with the customer without resolving the issue. Contacted customer service regarding data that failed to rollover to the next month. Not the first time. Will definitely be the last.

This was the worst service I have ever used. I'm out 200$ for a 5$ replacement Sim card. They sent out the wrong compatible Sim card for my daughter's Samsung galaxy note 9. I simply asked for a new one to be sent out. Speaking to foreigners is very difficult as it is and to be fair besides for telecommunications I understand them fairly well. When I asked for a manager I was told none was available at that time. I requested to be contacted asap. Instead she sent me an email to repeat a confirmation # for the 7th time. I repeatedly asked for a refund a new Sim card and or management and all I got was the run around for 2 nhrs of my time. There are better companies out there.

Have been a Tracfone customer for over 5 years, had accumulated over 10190 minutes, 8730 text, 9.83 data. All of a sudden my min., text and data was gone. I called tracfone, they said they give me back 1470 minutes and 1407 text, 1.05 gigs data figure what the balance is owe me and will not give it back. I am getting away from tracfone. They have cost me all they are going to. This is not the first time

1 star is more than 4 times of all others combined. That tells you everything. Unless you want to waste an hour talking to their rep for nothing, go for it. We purchased a plan online. Received a sim kit, which turned out to be not working with our phone, although we've checked on their website that the IMEI is compatible. I guess the most incredible thing is that their rep told us they cannot read the info (order #, SIM card #, etc), that we just GAVE them, back to us?! When I go "this is effing bs". The rep said "yes" LOL (Yeah, at this point I don't know if I should be angry or be laughing (for that yes).

One of the worst things I've ever dealt with trying to get a simple flip phone to work. They'll gladly take your money with no refund, but the products do not work at all. Horrible experience, and one of the worst brands in the phone world. I wish I would have read reviews on it before even spend a dollar on this garbage. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

I have had problems with this service from day one. It cannot connect to a service provider when I get a half mile from my house. Customer Service is a joke. I stayed on the phone for 45 mins. First time, 30 mins. Second time, and 25 mins. today. Calls are routed to India. They don't halfway understand what you are talking about, and you can't halfway understand what they are saying. Never did get the problem solved, so I guess I'm stuck until next month.

I have been a satisfied Tracfone customer for many years until now. Last month I bought a Samsung Galaxy A25 5G from Tracfone online. I liked the phone very much until it stranded me in a big city with no access to mobile data. I had plenty of data left in my account. After hours of working with tech support online and on the phone, I finally decided It reactivate my old phone. It could not access mobile data anymore either! This leads me to suspect that the issue is not with either device but with the Tracfone network. So now I have 33GB of data in my account, two phones, neither of which can access that data, and an extremely unhelpful tech support department. Wait times for support are ridiculously long. Support person changes mid exchange, and you have to keep repeating the same ineffective procedures over and over and over again.

So far, as I write this I have been on hold for 33 minutes. I was suppose to have 11-16 minutes wait. When I initially called, the automated system could properly catch what was being said. I even said it clearly, and spaced. It's ridiculous you have to be on hold this long just to activate a phone. Glad it isn't my service. I can see for myself now, they are a definite no go for me. They need to do better. I can get through a call with my provider faster.

Tracfone's service prices are low. They sell a variety of low and medium priced phones, and they use Verizon's network. Customer service is in Asia, wait times to talk to a live person are LONG, sometimes you get an agent who speaks English well, sometimes not. They keep trying to email me a mailing label for a return, but for whatever reason they can't. If price is your first concern, give them a try, otherwise go with another budget carrier.

Did not offer the option to activate new phone bought from their web site without speaking to a representative as the old phone was not serviceable. My dad has been with them for over a decade. He lost his phone and we changed carriers. I called Tracfone to get his account number and the other info to port his number over. The first call I was on hold for 40 minutes then it hung up. I called back and was on for 30 minutes before some picked up. I told the rep that I was trying to port my dad number over. She said I needed another phone so I can download an app then register so that I could login and port the number over.
I asked the rep could we do it over the phone 'cause I didn’t have another phone and she said no. I then told her that’s unacceptable and felt like she was giving me the run. I hung up the call. She then called back saying there was another option. I then asked her why did it take me using a few selective words for you to give me another option. I was so upset that I told her just forget and that her first response was unacceptable and inconsiderate. I told her I hope this new carrier has better customer service than Tracfone! They always have excuses instead of trying to fix the problem. THUMBS DOWN FOR TRACFONE!!!

Absolutely the worst service overall!! Go with Visible Wireless instead!! Not only is the phone extremely slow and lags, the service drops calls, texts don't get sent and when people call it randomly says my phone is not active but the customer service is just as bad! I was rudely hung up on by a representative! I'm not even sure how Tracfone has any customers at all! 🚨🛑🚧🚩DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES EVEN CONSIDER TRACFONE AS AN OPTION!!!

Since 2025 rolled in, Tracfone has been plagued with problematic wiping of customers' prepaid account balances, erasing talk/text minutes and turning their phones into bricks. There's nothing like having to turn on your phone, just to get an automated message saying that your phone was "Deactivated" ??? without any given reason.
This is my 3rd time in 3 months that Tracfone has deleted all my data - I prepay for yearly service, and only use my phone rarely, or emergency needs. So you jump through the hoops, go online to your account, spend several hours on chat and customer service line (when they answer) while 2 out of 3 CS agents are completely useless and drag out calls for hours as you're tossed from dept to dept. before they either only partially fix the issue (steal thousands of minutes from your account) or not at all. = to only have the same thing happen all over again the following month. (Not alone here, there are countless Reddit, FCC and BBB complaints on this same issue.)
Even worse, apparently, Tracfone CS can't even call customers about their deleted data on their own brand phones to resolve service issues! A ludicrous way to run a business, and blatant thievery. After reaching Executive Resolution Dept, I was told by CS that it was a "Systems Glitch" and you would think Tracfone (aka: Verizon) a $182 Billion Co, would hire an IT tech worth their salt to fix a 'system glitch' that causes so much grief and steals data from their customers. FYI: Failure to provide services paid for is 'theft' Failure of FCC compliance allow a $100 per day fine for loss of service under Federal regulations. Taking customers money and wiping their accounts is fraud. Not fixing a KNOWN ISSUE is Corp incompetence.
Something is amiss with this outright robbery of money from customers by Tracfone (aka Verizon) and lost all trust in this Corporation, if you have an issue like this = DEMAND a CDR (call detail report) to prove that they erased your balance, instead of the excuses their inept CS tries to push on you to buy more minutes... which they will steal also. Not Recommended ~ Just another US Corporation used to be reliable, but after merging into a monopoly they lacks ethics over their greed.

The cellular service seems fair. But the international call product is a junk. I used to be able to call but the quality was bad. Now the phone tells me it went through, but the phone in another country does not ring at all. DO NOT BUY THE INTERNATIONAL SERVICE.

Tracfone only has 1 positive point of being cheap. But when something goes wrong with their system customer service is completely useless and frustration is guaranteed to all you end up with. It's like trying to to explain something to a brick. Good luck getting a refund. I'm 5 hours into the latest issue just to be told even though the issue I'm having has nothing to do with me. I can't get a refund for services I paid for without getting use of said service. Somehow they don't see this a theft.

My father bought me my first TracFone when I was 18. I have used many companies since then but in a desperate pinch I always buy one of these worthless phones... Every time I get a new one I am increasingly disappointed. The internet is always too expensive 3 times as much nowadays with everything tied to the internet than any other traditional company. You will buy data cards all the time and the internet it provides is absolute garbage... Dial up in the 90s was better. They work their hardest to avoid their customers with AI but even the AI is outdated and can't answer the most basic of questions.
Furthermore and sadly using TracFone in a pinch becomes a bad habit and the only thing you teach your kids is how to accept garbage and I can personally and honestly say that TracFone is a good way to ruin your kid's life.... I'm angry enough to take time out of my day to post this on a random blog... Unless you hate your kid heed my warning... I'm using one to write this right now... Lol had to reload this page three time.

My Tracfone stopped working, I contacted the company and they sent a shipping label to return it with the assurance that they would send a replacement in a week. It has been over ten weeks and after many calls and chats, nothing but grief. They rob you if you send your back.

Since Verizon took over, Tracfone has been zeroing out my balances (9000 minutes suddenly became 0, same with texts and data). I had to buy more minutes and texts and data. Then it happened again two months later. Customer service denied it happened both times even though they admitted having no records of actual usage. I had screenshots of my balances but they refused to look at them. Imagine if banks did this. Well, it’s become standard practice at this thieving company. I ported my number out to T-Mobile yesterday.

Service is fine when it is not inadvertently dropped, auto enroll needs to be reminded every month to engage, "unlimited texts" program is NOT unlimited and you never expect any service to stop when it's supposed to be unlimited. Dropping the service altogether for being continually poor. Do not sign up with this company. They will fail you nearly every month. But they are cheap on the fly if you want spotty use of what you sign up for and may not mind doing battle with customer service every month if you can actually reach them. Outsourced. Extremely poor outcome to many problem-solving offers. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY.

Should be able to give a negative number of stars. Tracfone WAS half decent until verizon took them over, now they are 100% + garbage! Wife got a new phone and wanted to change everything from her old activated phone to her new one and they wouldn't do it - they STOLE 10 gig of data from her and are refusing to return it. Now she has unlimited everything BUT now when she tries to text anyone she is being told by tracfone that she has insufficient funds. How can she have insufficient when she has and has paid for unlimited????
We live in rural NY, an area that tracfone/verizon claims they service BUT we have no service. They are more than happy to take our money then refuse to provide the service we pay. They say they won't install any more towers because it costs too much BUT the Verizon CEO happily claims 1.24 million (plus bonuses) every year and verizon owns tracfone. They take our money and our service and expect us to be happy with that. How about we take their CEO's income and see how happy he is!!!! Bottom line crap company over all with no service, no customer support, no help, just excuses, nothing. Use any other provider than tracfone or straight talk you may not get better service BUT you will get a more helpful customer service.

My phone just randomly gets deactivated, and I can't make any phone calls. I called them. They were able to fix whatever the problem was. A week later the same thing happens. My phone service just got paid and I'm not able to call again. This time there was a really long wait time, like an hour to talk to someone. I'm online and on another phone trying to get this resolved. The lady online couldn't do anything and the lady on the phone was rude. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she's sucking her teeth and clearing her throat after I asked. She said she was going to transfer me but puts me on mute. Then completely hangs up. The phone service is cheap but good luck trying to get help when your phone isn't working out of nowhere.

They stole 3 months of service from me that I paid for. Impossible to reach customer service, you'll wait on hold, and even when they call you back, they'll put you back on hold and when they finally answer they will have tech issues & lose connection so you can't get help. I can't even delete my account without waiting on hold for a long time just to have someone who can't understand English well enough to answer my question. Chat isn't any better. One of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. There are other cheap services that are infinitely better - don't recommend them to anyone!

Don't fall for this carrier even though the price looks good unless you're willing to spend hours of frustration trying to deal with them when they do incompetent things on their end like turning off your service when you're paid up. Deleting your data when you're paid up. Turning your data offline when you're in the middle of nowhere even though you're paid up. They have absolutely no regard for fixing their mistakes and wasting a lot of your time. They should not be allowed to stay in business unless they clearly state that they will provide no customer service and cannot be held to provide the service you paid for.

Customer Service? If you can get in touch. Called this morning and requested auto callback, a 25 minute wait. After waiting I got disconnected and a busy tone. So called back and decided to stay on the line and wait, now 30+minutes. Once again after waiting I got disconnected and a busy tone. This has happened in the past too. I think the Reps are doing the disconnecting. That's how they solve the problem.

A customer for over 20 years since my cell is not primary phone. Something happened where my data/minutes were showing zero balances. Called customer service 3 times explaining I couldn't have used my minutes. Their only solution was to buy another plan. My solution was to drop them.

Last week my phone got smashed (Wednesday), so I decided to go online and replace it. I ordered a new phone, and while I was at it, ordered another year of service to extend what I already had. Also paid the extra fee to have the new phone overnighted to me. Got a notification on Thursday that the phone has shipped. Friday, no phone. Saturday, no phone, but I did get a notice that I was about to be auto billed for another 3 months of service.
So I got online to try and resolve this. After almost an hour of getting we're busy messages, I finally started chatting with a representative. Explained the whole story and was told that I couldn't be helped, because I couldn't get my identity validated, which can only happen by sending a code to the 'broken' phone. A while later I tried again, only this time I was able to be validated through email. Was told the auto bill was canceled and that my credit card had been removed from the account. Sunday, no phone. Monday, phone finally came along with a notice from my bank that I got charged for another 3 months of service. Went back on-line, turns out the auto bill wasn't canceled, and the credit card is still there.
Instead of trying to resolve that again, I spent the next 4 hours trying to get the new phone activated. Was told to hang up and it would be activated at reboot in an hour. That didn't work. I got caught in this endless loop of an automated system telling me it was checking the phone, found a problem that it resolved, and I should reboot and try again. Same thing. Another few hours on-line and still no resolution... of anything. SIM card out. SIM card in. Phone off. Phone on. Repeat a few dozen times.
The past week has been nothing but a complete exercise in frustration. I've had enough. At this point all I want is to do is cancel everything. The phone, the service plan, the entire account and get a refund. But it seems they can't even do that. They've said that they discontinued the auto pay, yet they can't delete my credit card from the account. Based on past experience, I'll probably start getting billed again. They also indicated that they can't provide a full refund, for something that I never used. I do understand that in todays political climate that consumer protection and corporate oversight of fraud is non-existent, but this is ridiculous.

OK service in general until something happens. And then you discover horrible, reluctant to do anything or incompetent customer support. The website is really bad. Using the website for self-service to avoid calling customer support is often impossible because of poor usability. Company has huge problem with a IT. When I had problems and I called customer service the most often I hear "the software doesn't allow me...". What problems? I bought service plan extension package, but it wasn't applied to my plan.

I bought and new phone for Tracfone and I move my number to the new phone with minutes on the phone and then they deactivate my phone for no reason at all so I lost 650 minutes and 355 text minutes and when call them to get my minutes back they said they could not do it so I had go to straight talk just to have call phone.

Literally can't make a single phone call. Phone keeps asking to switch to WiFi calling, which DOESN'T WORK. Voice mails never load. NEVER. It just keeps saying I'm unable to access voice mails at the moment, and when I try to call my voicemail box to listen to my messages, it doesn't load. Customer service is terrible and incredibly unhelpful. You call to ask them to fix your issue and they just try to upsell you onto some other bs plan when the first one doesn't even work to begin with. Ridiculous waste of time and money.

I've had Tracfones in the past for an additional line. Did contact Customer Service (CS) a couple times with questions & never had a problem. Purchased a Tracfone in February, 3 mo prepaid & the mobile protect plan (13 mo). Dropped the phone, screen cracked & 5 days later screen was completely black. Last Wednesday (4/30), I called & was on the phone with CS for about 45 min. Eventually I was told a replacement phone would be sent & arrive by Saturday or Monday. He was also very insistent he would call me on Saturday between 10 & 11 am. He never called & phone never arrived.
Called CS today (wait time was 11 min) to check on tracking of the replacement phone. He never gave me a case # or tracking #, so the woman spent a fair amount of time looking up my account. She said she had no access to anything that transpired previously, which doesn't make sense to me, as one would presume a customer account file should be inclusive.
After finally verifying my account & that I had a "mobile protect plan", she asked about the problem with the phone. After being on hold a couple minutes, I was told that their mobile protect plan only covers software, and because the cracked screen could have contributed to why the screen went black, a replacement phone would not be authorized. Rather I should contact Asurion, the provider of the plan, and see what, if anything, they can do for me.
Needless to say, by then (20+ min) I was quite frustrated. This person was Ok & obviously couldn't explain why I was told differently last Wednesday. Upon completion with her I asked to speak with a manager & after a momentary hold, was told they were all in a meeting for about another hour (IMO a convenient excuse), but she took the phone # where I can be reached. Never received a call so obviously they don't care about the customer. I am quite furious. Had I been told the truth last week, I likely would have opted to just buy another phone. So, I have no idea what the 1st CS rep did as he spent plenty of time verifying my account, shipping address, etc. Because of this terrible experience with their CS, I will NEVER buy another Tracfone and will NEVER recommend this company to anyone.

My father is an 89 year old Korean War Vet and is being billed $40 per month by this hideous company. They won't cancel his service because he can't find his phone. He lost it. But, they won't stop billing him until he gives them the IEMI number from the phone, which is lost. My dad is headed for hospice and they won't help him. What a terrible company that continues to feast off of one of our beloved veterans and won't look beyond their policy to help a man that is dying. This company should be ashamed.

I just went to add 365 days of service to my plan and there is no longer a option to add just that you have select a plan that adds minutes texts and data which the amount of minutes and texts I use is not even the amount you get with these plans so to me it is a waste of money to have to buy a plan. The option just buying 365 was available ever since I started with Tracfone. Now this year it is no longer available, I am going to blame on Verizon it's just so they can make more money making you to have to buy a plan.

Tracfone is not well organized. I paid for a 365-day plan and lost all my calls, texts, and data. They had no record of trans actions, so I have 364 days left on my plan with no calls, no text, no data, everything was erased. They cannot find it. So I had to add more money for the additional plan. I lost about $130.

Bought a new i phone from TracFone about 2 months ago. Discovered that I couldn't receive calls/texts. 2+ hours on the phone to remedy. Discovered about 1 month after purchase that I wasn't able to use cellular data when I was away from my home. 2+ hours and 3 different agents and I was told that I would have to manually turn off wi-fi when leaving home and manually back on when I returned home. Decided to go with T-Mobile (family plan) but Tracfone says I have to wait 60 days before they will unlock my new phone! Even though the phone was PAID IN FULL! They tried to tell me I had to wait 2 years until I reminded that this was not a "new" service just a new phone, and that I've been with them for many, many years. NOT HAPPY!!!

My phone would not stay connected to the network for more than ten minutes. Anytime I wanted to make a call, I had to call the customer service number. The AI would say that it had found a problem and solved it. The phone would work for one phone call, but then drop the network again. I called customer service multiple times and they had no idea how to fix it. The tech people were obviously in India. It was often difficult to understand them due to their heavy accents. After many failed attempts to resolve the problem, I finally gave up and went with a different service.

As "apology" charged $20 on my credit card for 20GB data, sent confirmation Email, but data NEVER applied onto my Plan. Called to fix mess, but they kept saying same things over and over. I've been using my phone for 3 years and wanted to get it unlock so I can try Helium Mobile. I completed the request on Thursday and was told I'd get an email and my phone should be unlocked on Monday. Monday came and went and my phone was still locked with no email received either. I called back on Tuesday and was told I had to buy another plan in ordered to unlock my phone. I was already on a plan, why would I buy another one? The customer rep from the Unlock Department kept repeating that line over and over again without answering why I had to buy another plan when I already have one.
I finally asked to talk to a supervisor but was denied. I've called the Unlock Department many times after that hoping to run into a good customer rep but no luck. They would all make a statement and will hang up on me when I asked why or request to talk to a supervisor. I think everyone in the phone Unlocking Department needs to get fired because they provide zero customer support. I think the job of the Unlocking Department is to refuse to unlock phones or make sure to find a way to charge the custom one last time before they leave. If that's what they have been trained to do then they're actually doing a great job haha.

TracFone is personally responsible for the release of incident security details on five devices reported to them as stolen. In addition to that they continue to charge me upward the $40 for the last 7 months direct withdrawal auto pay for my bank card even though I had shot the account down and important advice is someone which confirmed that my security has been exposed by their negligence. Verizon wireless and Motorola loose the contract with TracFone. I have had over 1,500 in merchandise stolen before delivery at this address and over $2000.00 cash missing from bank debit because they failed to place devices in default deleting them and continued paying for the thieve's services instead of honoring my 12 years as a client.

My son has a track phone so I can add minutes to his phone. I purchased a card in the store activated. It brought it home. Erased the pin number and half of it was missing. I just spent the worst 40 minutes of my life speaking with the customer service representative, who not only barely spoke English, but would not even listen to me. She kept telling me everything that I had already done as I assured her and then when I asked to speak to a manager, she said she was a manager and she continued to over. Talk me. She was rude. She would not let me speak with anyone else and hung up on me in the United States if you had that kind of customer service you would be fired and there’s no one you can call and report it to. There’s no one that cares their outsourced people from God knows where and they are not doing their job as of today. I will never use this company again!!!!

They refuse to allow you to speak to a supervisor and kept me on the phone for 8 hours, just transferring us from person to person to do the exact same trouble shooting over and over again. They promised a new phone and specifically said they would allow us to keep the old phone and take it to Walmart to assist in the transferring of photos needed for my business, then sent an envelope and refuse to send a phone without the phone returned. Cheap service, but very limited. I've used TracFone for work for 10+ years. The limits on minutes/texts/data are obvious and clear through the plans. However, other service related events are not as clear. I wasn't able to change the phone number to get a local area code when I moved. Apparently they only have 3,000 local numbers for a metropolitan area of several million (Pittsburgh) so numbers/area codes are assigned randomly and I now have a phone number area code for Philadelphia and will basically never be able to get a local number through TracFone.

After 3 months phone started to auto fill the screen security code with wrong numbers and continued to lock me out of phone. Service agent tried factory reset and several other things, never worked. They said they would send out a new phone. They specifically and voluntarily said "this will be at no charge to you and no need to return the defective phone." Phone never showed up so I called back. The order was never "completed" and they would do that now. Phone never showed up a 2nd time, called back. 3rd time - same story. Phone never showed up again. Called back and NOW they say it is because I didn't return the phone and I have to pay to ship it back. I ask for a supervisor and they just leave the line open for 20 minutes with all of the office background noise, and no supervisor. Horrible customer service!

I've been using Tracfone for years with very few problems, buying new phones annually from QVC or HSN with minutes included. If I run out of these minutes before a year I purchase a month to month plan with auto rollover until cancelled. However now I can't get them to cancel it even though their cs people guarantee me it is. I finally had to dispute their charges with my credit card company to get my money back. This service offer at $10 a month unlimited text, talk service with 1 gig of data on its site. I signed up for autofill and the site charged me $17. I called to correct and add auto fill. No help. Was told $10 wasn't an option although it's on the site. Person told me that they offered a $20 option, how is that possible if I was charged $17? Don't pay with a debit/credit with this company. You will be scammed and nothing resolved! Buy prepaid cards only. This is the second time this company has either overcharged me and double dipped charges!

The TracFone assistant would not give my new provider my account number even though they already had the NTP number. We purchased 3 phones with 3 service plans from them, none of the phones worked with the service plans. Their "customer service" told me to return them and that I was "rest assured" I would get a full refund since nothing worked. They refunded 2 out of 3. That was almost 2 months ago, since then I have contacted them many times, the last one disconnected me. The first one gave me a ticket# that was apparently made up. No one at Tracfone cares. Even with all the bad reviews, they don't care.

Tracfone use to be good, hardly any problems, just had to remember to buy a plan every month or so, it was great for kids in Highschool, but then it went downhill. Sometimes if you run out of data they will drop you from the data service completely and you have to get in contact with customer service, and when you explain the situation to them, some of them treat you like an idiot. Then I found out it was bought out by Verizon, and even though they added more data, to get the plan with 20 gb of data you had to buy it of their website.
Tracfone use to have it be easy to check how much you had left on your plan, well know when you send the Balance message, it informs you that it will be down by another agent, which I'm then means you have to wait, and sometimes it's not up to date, so you have to do it agian, because the information was the same as last time you asked for it info, and it was the same as last month. -10/10, do not get Tracfone, stay away. It's not worth the money or the time anymore, there are better service providers.

The plans offered are not bad. But Customer service is not great. You advertise that people can bring their numbers but on 2 occasions I had to switch numbers. After purchasing 2 new tracfones. I asked if number that I previously had was available and was told I could not get it once it is taken off I could not get it back. I had to get a random number. Will if you offer to get your previous number and it is available why give a random number when the previous one is available.

I have been a TracFone customer for over 30 years. I was a very satisfied customer until January 3, 2025 when they zeroed out my approximately 2200 prepaid minute. Consequently no one was able to call me nor could I make calls. My expiration date was 3/04/2025. I was forced to purchase a new plan with them to use my phone. Later when I contacted customer service. They told me that the only way they help me was if I had taken a photo of the number of minutes before they zeroed and probably could help if I remembered the exact number of minutes that I had.

Customer service is horrible. I called to follow up on a refund for a phone I returned. I had to repeat my order number TEN times. I felt like she was trying to get me frustrated. Tracfone never acknowledged receipt of my return but I have tracking and proof of delivery, which I told her. She was incompetent at best, purposefully obstinate at worst. She told me the refund was processed, after she required my credit card number. My bank lets me know when a refund is processing for a purchase made with my card. I have not yet received any such notification.

I am done! Woke up to Zero minutes on an unlimited talk and text plan. 3 hours on the phone with someone calling themselves a rep, then another rep in chat, then a text chat. There are so many complaints the last year about this, check out the web if you have any issues. I have been a customer for over 5 years. It was all about the rollover "carry over" minutes for me. Every month for the last years it has been fine, now all of a sudden no one knows what happens, but it's not Tracfone's fault. Don't buy into this scam, really. Your time is too precious.

If you make a mistake on payments or redemptions they will not refund you or credit your account. Instead they tell you it's your fault and therefore not their problem. The plans and website are extremely misleading which is concerning considering most elderly customers will be duped into paying far more than they need to. They value a dollar over any customer. I've had other companies through sprint that have credited me an entire bill over lesser issues. Stay away from Tracfone.

Had phones with them for 10yrs+ at least 2 phones at a time. They recently switched their phone support to what I assume is a cheaper outsource company who is VERY Rude. They'll ask your name and instantly forget it, They ask you to provide verification then INSTANTLY forget the verification then DEMAND you provide some odd off the wall information they would have little to know way of knowing such as your last Call Contact person, last dialed Phone number or last Location a call was made from.
Without the Demanded information you maybe subjected to Physical threats usually from the Male support staff which border on Terroristic or put on Endless Hold, so you can't do the survey by hanging up on you. Now also getting 1 ring/Hang up calls at all hours of day and night from their supposed Supervisor's number at **, Had so many I've had to block it as spam. They are vindictive. Oh and NEVER EVER ask the Automated voice for "Agent" or "Customer Service" because it will simply hang up on you.

I ordered a phone from them on Black Friday that came with 2 day shipping. Several days later they sent me an email saying my order was cancelled. I then call and rep tells me she isn’t sure why it was cancelled because phone is in stock and I should place new order. They were so rude to me and my daughter. When we were trying to explain to them that we had already done what they were suggesting for us to do they YELLED at us. We were also on the phone with them for 2-3 hours at a time trying to work with them. We told them that they were getting the phone back and we would be disputing the charges and they said that they were fine with that. We then received a 5 page letter LYING to us saying that they don't have proof that they received the phone and weren't getting our money back. You should save your time and money and not waste it on this sorry company.

I have been a Tracfone customer for many years. I recently upgraded my phone and received a defective phone. Was asked to send it back for replacement which I did. I was told I would be receiving a new phone in 3-5 days. Two weeks later and 2 calls of being lied to and told the phone had been sent or would be sent and received within 3-5 days I finally found out today they are now out of stock in the warehouse. I asked for a refund and was told since I had requested a replacement phone (which I didn't and was not given an option of a refund) that I could not get a refund. I was now told the phone would arrive in 7 working days.
I have been dealing with this for nearly a month with horrible customer service, ridiculous multi step, time consuming process of verifying my account, being transferred around without warning and having to go through the whole verification process over and over, being blatantly lied to about when I would get a phone, not to mention almost 5 hours in aggregate on the phone trying to resolve this issue with reps who speak very fast, broken English, and that are apparently taught to lie to customers. I asked to receive an upgrade if they could not provide me with the phone, to no avail. I have almost 6 months left of a yearly plan, and have lost almost a month since I have no phone to use it with, and don't know when and if ever I will actually receive a phone. I've had TracFone for around a year, and never had any problems until 11-20-24. I've always paid in advance with refill cards up to several months in advance. Well as of 11-19-24 I have to say goodbye to TracFone. I noticed that I didn't have Internet on my phone, even though I spent more than $60 to have high speed data, and I had almost 20 GB of data. What happened to all my data I asked the TracFone sales representative on the phone. I told her that I should've had several prepared cards on file with them on my account, however the sales representative told me that I had no more money on my account, and I had no more Internet. That can't be when I had several cards in reserved. Come to find out TracFone stole my money on file and took off three months' worth of data I paid for. The sales representative argued with me until I had to hang up the phone.
On top of all that I had developed rewards for being a "loyalty Customer" so I used 1,000 of my rewards to get at least 3 GB of data. TracFone ended up stealing my rewards, and never gave me my 3GB of data. After all the money I've put in with TracFone and this is the crap I get. Also I had evidence on text that I did in fact pay for several months in advance worth of data/service until TracFone deleted all the text on the system to destroy evidence. I would not recommend TracFone to ANYONE!!!

I have been having an ongoing problem with connectivity of my cell Tracfone with my home landline: When I call home with my cell, it rings twice and then indicates "call ended". I spent the worse of two hours plus explaining this multiple times with different levels of tech support to no avail. In the end, a Tech support specialist in the "corporate office" said the problem was complex and to please hold--she never came back to me. I was offered a survey to complete about my experience--when I clicked "yes" for wanting to complete the survey, I received a text response: "You are not taking a survey." I wasted hours of my time to get stiffed. And I still have a phone that will not connect properly. No offer of remediation has been forthcoming.

Original Review: My dad has had Tracfone for years. Well, just like every other company they felt the need to make him update his phone, saying his was going to be obsolete. As much as the phones look similar they are not the same. I used to be able to load minutes on his phone via text message with their customer service number. If I try to add them via text now, they'll add them right then and not when the plan is up, so you lose days. Totally ridiculous.
Next thing, if you call, be prepared to be on the phone with the 'virtual assistant' and he will insist that he really wants to help you. I do not like robots on the phone, however they are easier to understand than the actual people at Tracfone Customer Service. My dad is 81. He does not do text, computer, or barely his cellphone now because they changed all the features on it with the 'upgrade'. It wasn't an upgrade, they didn't simplify anything. Just made a mess for all the people. I would give no stars if I could and I will be swaying my dad to give this company up.

TracFone refused to transfer his yearly plan to new phone! He knew his PIN number but wanted two phone numbers. He called in last 60 days! I give them all calls in his call log but they said none were good enough to verify his account! His sim card went bad so no phone calls or messages wouldn’t work! I like TracFone's affordability but anxiously dread trying to communicate with customer service before I even dial! I am 78, a bit hard of hearing, and that always, always, translates into not being able to understand more than 2 words out of ten spoken by service staff with accents so heavy as to be nothing but garble as they drone on and on so far off topic as to be infuriating once I realize that they are just script reading platitudes, even to just answer a simple "yes"/"no" question. After about 15 minutes of this I have to hang up since they apparently cannot transfer me to a person with better English enunciation.
I can't tolerate feeling so incredibly pissed off for the total waste of time and effort I put into trying to discuss simple things like unlocking my account after 2 mistaken password entries, or from trying to buy a year of service days without losing my 984 carryover minutes. Total time suck every time and that dear reader is the very definition of insanity by my expecting different results from making those TracFone calls over and over. There, I've finally vented!

I purchased a virtual pin via Wendy AI on Tracfone messaging system and had the cashier do it twice and the pin never revealed after making the purchase? I called tracfone three times and they said they would not fill my account. The 5g is extremely slow and phone calls tend to crackle and this will be the last 5 days I will use them.

Simply wanted to activate a new Tracfone phone and port the old number to a new Tracfone number for a friend in a nursing home I was trying to help. In order to transfer the old number, the Tracfone supervisor wanted us to reactivate the old number we'll never use for even one minute beyond porting it. Minimum cost was for 1 month of service.

I bought a refill card at Walmart. It is not the kind with a gray strip you scratch or peel off, the directions say to scan the bar code and the PIN will print out on the receipt. Well, I get it home and there's no PIN on Walmart's receipt. I call Tracfone and they tell me they can do nothing, I have to take it up with Walmart. So the people at the service desk then look the receipt over and claim it's got to be one of the numbers on the receipt. It was not. The only code on the Walmart receipt is for Walmart to look up what you've bought. So I called Tracfone back. There simply was no 15-digit pin. So I went back to Walmart and they basically told me it was out of their hands.
I live in a small town and know the manager and practically had to threaten to get the atty general, BBB and social media complaints on them. They did refund my money but I can tell you, they would not have for a customer who wasn't about to make a scene in front of the whole store. While it's partially Walmart's fault, no doubt, Tracfone should ensure that if you spend money on their product, they will give you the product or your money back. Otherwise, do not put those cards in stores. Even if it is a 3rd party printing them up for Tracfone, Tracfone should still be responsible for their product. I did everything correctly and the store's staff did everything they knew and were trained to do, so the fault is not any of ours.

I tried to buy a TracFone phone three months ago. Their system wasn't able to preserve my current number. There was never an option to talk to a human. So I decided to stay with my other provider. I provided Tracfone with my credit card number on condition that they would only charge me if the plan worked. They have proceeded to charge me for the last three months. I have spent hours chatting with their bot service through 611611 to get them to delete my credit card information. They say they can't do this unless I have an account and number with them, but somehow, they still manage to steal money from me once per month.
VISA has successfully challenged the first two month charges as fraud and they've been returned to me. But Tracfone just took $33 from me again this month. They have never provided me any service whatsoever. Complete scam of a company. My only option now is to cancel my debit card account and wait for a new card to come in the mail. Never, ever use this company! There are many lawsuits against Tracfone. I am in the process of joining one.

If I could leave zero star I would! Worst service and worst customer service. I spent 5 1/2 hours (not a typo!!) on the phone over 2 days trying to trouble shoot. They were not able to help me. They refused to reimburse me, I paid for a year of service and had service for a little less than 3 months. I had to beg them to give me the pin to transfer my phone number to another carrier! STAY AWAY!!!

This these phones used to be really nice to have but now they made them so cheap and I've been having problems ever since with these phones. The the service is just mind-boggling. It's annoying, when you call you can't hardly understand what the person says on the the other line and the phone that the phone's just dropped calls automatically. Their phones are something else. I don't know if it's a TracFone or what's in these phones but they're made cheaply. I asked him to send me another phone and all of a sudden the phone just went dead and now I'm not able to use the phone at all. I have medical issues that I need to get to the doctor and I depend on this phone but now I can't depend on it because of now I have to go in my pocket a little deeper to get a phone that's going to work because these phones are something else.

Terrible customer service experience, I purchased a plan and different cellphone under my current plan knowing that my plan would be expiring soon. I did this all online under my current plan. I received the new phone, paid for the service prior to my service expiring and they wouldn't allow me to use the phone number I had used for years that was a TracFone number because they terminated my other plan even though I paid for and signed up for another one prior to the plan expiring. So, they had to issue me a new number but wouldn't give me the new number for security reasons. My daughter has a phone at school that I can't even get the number to until she gets home, so there is no way to contact her. When you call customer service you have to give them your number, this makes absolutely no sense to me that they can't even tell you the number, all other cellphone companies do.

Scam!!!! I bought this card at an Albertsons primarily for the web. I added it on it didn't work. I called 611 and the scam associate told me that it was only for talk and text not for web. 45 minutes of arguing she says it shows on her computer it's not for web and I'm telling her in front of me on the card that says it is for the web. She says no and wants to sell me one gb of data for 10 buck. TracFone is a scam.

Do not use Tracfone if you want honest service. Autofill does not give you any credit. They shut your phone off before service end. Do not trust Tracfone! They are swindlers. I have never received five dollar credit. When you run out of mobile data, there's no warning. You better have a second phone to be able to turn your Tracfone back on. Wanted to add a reserved pin to my plan. I called them up. They tried to add it but encountered a system error. They said they will escalate the issue, and asked me to call back in 24 hours. I asked them to create a ticket so that I can reference to it. 3 days later, I called them again. The agent said the ticket just said "system error". She asked me if I still have the error. Basically, they did not work on the ticket the entire 3 days. When I asked to talk to manager to solve the issue, the manager just hang up on me. I was shocked. What poor service Tracfone provides!!

TLDR; DO NOT BUY TRACFONE! I've been getting a sim card and a prepaid plan when I travel to the united states for many years. We purchased a Tracfone plan a year ago, and discovered that it wouldn't work with the phone that we had. This year had a new phone and successfully activated the plan we had purchased the year before. I was shocked to discover that the tracfone plan would not allow me to tether to my other devices.
In short I was a bit shocked, it's not like the tracfone plan was great value to begin with, but limiting the ability for me to share my data connection with my laptop / other devices felt like a massive overstep. From my perspective, I'm purchasing a set amount of data. The company deciding how I use that data doesn't feel right. I contacted customer service and was told I could purchase an add on plan to enable this feature. I don't recall the rate but I do recall it was not good value. Long story short I got a way better plan through tello. I'm sure there are lots of other options out there. DO NOT GO WITH TRACFONE!

This has got to be the worst cell provider out there. I have dealt with the customer service issues too many times. I’m now 3 hours in to trying to get the issue fixed on the phone and 5 different reps. They do not offer compensation for issues or errors on their part. Multiple times TracFone has turned my service off despite having paid for a plan and having autopay set up. If I could give zero stars I would. I don’t have the time or energy to go into all the details about how horrible this company is. DON’T USE TRACFONE.

I have been with Tracfone longer than I care to admit and finally making the switch. Trying to interact with customer service is a complete nightmare. They have ridiculous policies that make zero sense whatsoever. For example, I provide them with the phone number, ask them to repeat it so I know they have the correct numbers and their policy is they can't repeat a number that was just given to them to verify the accuracy? It's completely ridiculous. I hate that I've given them as much business as I have over the years. It's a hassle to update a device, add a new line, really any business with them at all takes hours and in my most recent case days. They really need to go out of business.

I would leave 0 stars if I could and I rarely write a bad review. My dad is 80 and I was helping him renew his contract online. We accidentally paid for 2 years instead of 1. Called and spoke with a nice lady in management and she refunded the whole amount and just charged what we needed. Today I get up and I have no refunds, but 4 charges amounting to $514.23 more than I authorized. I called and they said, “O yeah, we had a glitch in our system, you should have a refund in 3-5 days.” I will never use my debit card here again and it was extremely poor service. So here I sit with a mortgage past due and don’t have my money.

I was trying to move my phone number from my old phone, whos screen was broken to a point that it looked like 50's era TV snow, and the customer service agent through no fault of their own kept trying to send me text messages on the broken phone and when I asked if there was any other way to verify that I am who I am and I am paying for this phone number she said I would be receiving a call from a customer service rep within 15 min.
The old phone could still receive calls so I connected my Bluetooth and waited. It is now over an hour later and the phone has not rang. I even had my husband call the phone from his phone and it rang so calls come through. And this is the second time this kind of thing happened. When I had to originally get a new phone I had just paid my phone bill and would NOT refund me when I had to switch to a new phone number. So they will keep your money and if you need to move your phone number from one phone to another hopefully the phone still works and you can see your screen because if not might as well resign yourself to a new number and losing out on money

I've had Tracfone for a few years. Never had too much problem until recently my battery usage suddenly started dropping. I placed on charger, nothing. Got a new battery for it, nothing. Long story short, I ended sending the phone to see if I could get a replacement phone. Although after speaking to them prior before sending it that they told me I couldn't get another phone due to 1yr warranty expiring I was told in a later communication that I could so I sent it off. I had been without a phone as of this week for nearly a month now. Called last Sunday and was told after all that, that I still wouldn't get a phone. Communication is not good and I told them they should have just been straight up that there was no way I would get the phone. I plan to get another service and another phone elsewhere.

These guys are just pathetic. I have a yearly plan of unlimited with about 50gb of data. The internet cut out, so I went to get a hotspot and they only have it with 1 plan at $40 a month w/ 10gb. The first guy referred me to look at the plans after 15min of him searching for hotspot in his manual. I went to the plans, but nowhere could I find Hotspot. Called again and asked specifically what plan has hotspot? He says "The $40 a month has it, but I check and it doesn't say that it has it. Next guy, "It's only visible to us, it's not on the website."

Individually but through their higher level of response to problem resolution, rather than research and correct problem they just cancelled my service. I had the acp from the government which ended last month. I try to get a cheap service with TracFone. I paid and everything. After I paid I was told that the plan I choose it was not the one. I had to pay more money in order to get the plan they had advertised for 30 dollars. I call the customer service again to get my money back. I did not want to pay more than 30 dollars a month for service. They did refund my money fast however I purchased a plan from Boost mobile and wanted to keep my number which it was ok w/ TracFone but when it came to the pin to get my number it never worked. I tried the whole day calling back and forth both companies. A nice lady from boost called TracFone to get the transfer pin. We spend 2,5 hours on the phone w/ TracFone. Nothing happen. No help.
TracFone told me call today to get the pin. I just called and it says I maxed the number of attempts to get the pin so I need to wait another 24 hours to get the pin and not sure if I'm ever going to get my number. TracFone is not a good customer service company. Is no help. The service is great but the customer service people is no good.

I have had a Tracfone for several years because I don't send many texts or calls. This year I ordered a new Tracfone in May 2024. I had 9998 of talk, 9999 of text and 1.90 of data. Twice I received texts from Tracfone stating that I was unable to receive texts because I had no talk, texts or data. Calling Tracfone is a total nightmare. It seems that their call center is in some foreign country because they are difficult to understand. After over an hour of arguing back and forth with them, my talk, text and data was put back in my account.
Today I received a new message stating that I could not receive texts because I had insufficient funds with Tracfone. They tried to tell me that when I got my new phone I had only 700 minutes. It was a long long hour call trying to explain to them what the problem was and trying to get it rectified. It was impossible that I had used up all of the talk, text and data because I don't use the phone. Between May 6 and June 28, 2024, I made two phone calls and send no texts. From now on I will take a picture of my talk, texts and data to prove I had that time before they wipe it out again. My service runs out in August 2024 and I will find a new provider. Dealing with Tracfone is enough to give you a nervous breakdown.

Tracfone has cheated me out of 8GB of data. This is second time in two months they have done this. First was my phone which they cheated me out of 4GB the second was my husband's phone. Our data just seems to disappear without us using it. I called them about 16GB missing from our new plan. They gave us 8GB back and added it to the 8.45GB that was already there on an old plan. They thought that this was the end of it since now I have my 16GB. Sorry, this is unacceptable to give me only 8GB when they owe me 16GB adding 8GB to an already existing 8.45 GB and then thinking this is good. I called their customer service back and was told data was added and there was nothing they could do. It reads 16GB on their end. They still owe me 8GB and I want it back. We have been a customer for 25 years and never had a problem until now.

I recently experienced a series of frustrating issues with Straight Talk and Tracfone that have left me severely dissatisfied. My SIM card was disabled after requesting a phone number change due to a scam attempt targeting my phone number, which subsequently prevented me from using my phone or receiving crucial verification codes for accessing my bank account. In an attempt to resolve the issue, I purchased a new Tracfone SIM card and service plan. However, Tracfone has claimed there is an IMEI mismatch, which they say prevents me from activating the new SIM card. Despite providing the necessary PIN and attempting to verify my account by providing two phone numbers I have called in the last 60 days, Tracfone's insistence on this verification method has left me unable to use my purchased service plan effectively.
Throughout this ordeal, I have spent over 8 hours on the phone with various customer service representatives, but unfortunately, I have not received any meaningful assistance. This lack of resolution has resulted in significant financial loss, as I am now left with unusable service plans that I have paid for. I am deeply disappointed with the level of customer service provided by both Straight Talk and Tracfone. Despite my long-standing loyalty as a customer, the inability to resolve such critical issues in a timely manner has severely impacted my trust in these companies. I used 6 GB of my 10 GB and the system said I used all 10GB. Customer service gave me 4GB. I used it over 1 week. Each time I was told I was slowed to 2G speed. But I had absolutely no internet connection. I was told I could purchase 5GB for $5 or 20GB for $15. I paid $15 for the 20GB and after that, I rebooted my phone, checked my balance and only got 10GB. Now 26 hours after buying the 20GB for $15. 13 agents and 20 phone calls later I still have not received the full 20 GB and I am being told the system claims that my phone that has been off all night and most of the day except for me calling support. Somehow has used 10 GB of the 20 GB and not even a Head Supervisor will give me my Full 20GB I paid the $15 for. This is Fraudulent theft. False advertising 20GB for $15 taking $15 from my banking account but only giving 10GB. Permanently lost me as a Customer Forever. Going Back to Mint Mobile where they don't lie or steal.

I didn't have to call them, they called me. She asked me for a couple pieces of info about my phone and SIM card. Data was restored and it was so easy. I've had a tracfone account for 18 years and I will never go anywhere else!

Purchased a phone card from Safeway, for a 60 min. card $19.99, brought it home. The instructions on the back of the card say to scratch off to view pin. After several attempts at scratching off the gray strip, it wasn't working. I was then determined that it was necessary to PEEL off the strip which was stuck on the card with adhesive, everywhere I had scratched the number underneath was no longer visible. I called the 800 (C.S.) number for assistance to explained my problem and was told nothing they could do for me, I would have to talk to corp. They would transfer me, disconnected, I called back at least 5 more times. Same thing happened. Then someone else I spoke with said to fax my card front and back, and again the call was disconnected. I need either a fax or email address. So I can received my money back or a new phone card. Please help!

All the 1 star reviews are accurate and have some similarities to the problems I experienced. TracFone has been my carrier for many years. If you want a cheap service plan that works reasonably well TracFone will suffice but if you ever encounter a problem forget it. Their customer service is completely worthless. My problems started when I needed to upgrade to a phone that was compatible with my hearing aids. They didn't carry one so I ordered one off Amazon and I ordered a SIM card from TracFone. They told me would work. After transferring everything from my old phone to the new I discovered I couldn't connect to the mobile network. I spent hours with customer service trying to fix this. Finally they said they were going to do something on their end and I was to shut down my phone, wait 24 hours and then restart the phone.
Well, after 24 hours I restart the phone and have no service at all, and I get an error message that says "not registered on network". Once again I spend hours online with customer service. They don't open a trb ticket. They don't keep notes so every time you call in you get a different person and have to start from the beginning and go through all the checks that's been done a dozen times. They have a cheat sheet they follow and they won't deviate from it. They refuse to transfer you to management or to anyone higher up that actually knows what they are doing. I've been without service for most of the week now so tomorrow I will explore some other providers. At this point I'm willing to pay a little more to get decent help.

I have bought a cell phone from Tracfone online from Tracfone. After receiving the phone tried to use the phone and phone would not take a phone number. Come to find out the phone doesn't work in my area. Sent phone back. Now they are dragging their feet to give my money back. Every time I contact customer service they say I have to wait 30 days. Be over 30 days and still no money on my account. It's just a run around. Customer service is very BAD. No other phone numbers to call. So what I'm saying is be careful when buying from TRACFONE.

The worst company I have ever dealt with in my 70 trips around the sun. If you can even understand the version of English that most speak you will be lucky if they don't make everything worse, from initial setups to transferring your Tracfone phone to another provider. To make it even worse after they screwed up my transfer I suddenly lost my 6 years of 7 accumulated Gigabytes of data to download and over 9,000 minutes of call time. And the guy somewhere in the Asian continent insulted me with "I could only find that you had 1.4 Gigabytes of data and 1,000 minutes of talk time.

They steal your data, texts, minutes, your money, time and your peace. It got to the point I was having to call every day and ask for my data back. I use my cell to earn a living. I lost so much work and income in the 3 months I was using their service. I bought an "unlocked" phone on marketplace. (Dumb decision I know.) I did call TracFone and asked if it was unlocked and if I could use with my current service. Tracfone customer service assured me I could. Clearly he had no idea what he was talking about. Long story a li'l shorter..I had to use TracFone for 60 days before they would give me the port out code. It took another 30 to get the code. The CS is useless.
Tracfone outright lies and steals from their customers. The data log on my device never came close to what they said I would use. A few times I bought a g of data only to have them claim I used it all 16hrs- 30hrs later while sitting at home with my home wifi on. I received contract violation on one side gig platform for lateness because I lost data connection in the middle of the job.

Well they just slid them under the rug on me. I called and they gave me the run around. I have been a Tracfone customer for many years. Since Verizon purchased Tracfone, customer service reps and support are useless. Considering how many common complaints exist, I can only conclude that Verizon Corporate, the parent company of Tracfone, is responsible and employees are only following orders to remain employed. Verizon and Tracfone do not care about quality service and repeat customers once your money becomes their money. Just check out BBB complaints against both companies and the BBB rating for each company.
File complaints about Tracfone and Verizon with the FCC and the FTC thru your United States Senator or Congressional Representative and with Hans Vestberg, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Verizon, the parent company of Tracfone. If you ask assistance from your United States elected officials, a staff member will contact federal agencies and your complaint will be placed on top of the complaint lists and handled promptly. Flooding your representatives with multiple complaints from registered voters, especially senior citizens like me, will result in government action against Verizon and Tracfone.
Remember - this is an election year for all United States Congressional Representatives and 1/3 of the United States Senate; your incumbent is desperate to get your vote - assuming you are registered to vote. Or you can visit customer complaint websites like this one and ** about whatever and never get your problems resolved.

Tracfone is the absolute worst when it comes to customer service. My wife recently upgraded her phone and when she switched it from her original Samsung galaxy to a newer model she has had nothing but problems. We have spent a total of NINE HOURS on the phone with customer service and things have gone from bad to worse. She originally had over 10 thousand SMS texts left and 16 GIGS of data when she transferred the phone her remaining data and texts were wiped out completely. Nobody at Tracfone has been able to rectify the issue. We have sent in several screenshots of her previous account balances but nothing has happened to rectify this issue. STAY AWAY FROM THE COMPANY, THEY DESERVE NO STARS AT ALL.

They just keep saying the same thing with no resolution. Then then got another 10.00 out of me. Originally they sent me a “free” phone to replace my old Tracfone a Verizon bought company. Went to use it and guess what? New phone didn’t work. Big Surprise…So I chucked it in closet. Got a different Tracfone. Now that one not working. My phone got the black screen of death on May 12. I could hear notifications pings but could not see anything on the screen. I wanted Tracfone to transfer my services to my 'old' phone (which I had stopped using 1 month previously). They got the texts to work but after being on with them for over an hour, they guaranteed my phone would be working within 24hrs. It was not. After ANOTHER 24 hr guarantee, my phone suddenly has 0 minutes, 0 texts, and 0 data. AND I still have no cell service signal. According to Tracfone my account needs to be refilled by me since 0's are showing across the board. They stated they had nothing to do with clearing my minutes. Very hard for a customer to have all 0's, don't you think? Will be getting a new phone/number NOT AT TRACFONE.

Spent 12+ hours over 3 days trying to get a new phone activated with my old number.
* 5K minutes, 5k msgs, 5Gig data deleted "by mistake" (though 476 days of contract left untouched),
* 14 different reps (none of whom had English as a first language, all of whom had extremely hard to understand accents) between chat and phone,
* both old and new phones deactivated (leaving me with no phone at all) and having to use $100 of friend's phone minutes (and yes, I have to reimburse him for that)
* repeated sim card numbers (for all 3 sims) at least 10 times each* repeated phone data for both phones at least 10 times each
* repeated name and phone number at least 50 times, many times for each rep, chat & phone call before finally getting it done. When TracFone time is up, I'm done with tracfone.

Tried hooking up a old smart phone, had to purchase new sim card. Called to activate phone, Tracfone couldn't activate the phone but still charged me for a airtime card and won't refund my money because I don't have a account. So basically tracfone stole 40 dollars from me.

I made sure my phone was compatible. I purchased a SIM card and bought a plan online. The SIM card was "corrupted" and didn't work. I tried to get help. I spoke to 3 different people and each one said they weren't trained for this problem and connected me to someone else. They kept transferring me back and forth between the same untrained people. After 2 hours I asked for a refund. They said no. Dispute it on your credit card. I tried to dispute it and it was denied. I was very unhappy with Tracfone and would never recommend this service.

If you just bought an iPhone, and knew NOTHING about it, you already know 10 TIMES more than the idiots you will meet in tech support. They are worthless, ignorant, in the Philippines, and since Verizon bought them, they are useless. It's a disgrace.

Stay away from Tracfone is the wost company I ever come across in my entire life. I move away from tracfone and went to metropcs. Kudos to mertopcs for the good quality of services. What happened is that after canceling my contract with tracfone I transferred everything to metropcs meaning no contract with them anymore. But they still went into my prior account, canceled my number in metro and gave me a different number. I was not receiving calls and messages went to metro and found that tracfone scammed my account and did that fraudulent transaction on my behalf. Now I have to open a claim to be able to get my number back that tracfone has stolen. Bad quality of service and worst customer service.

Done with Tracfone. I got a very simple phone and SIM card from them about ten years ago to have available as a backup. I recently charged up the phone again and tried to get it to work. It said I had 3 days of service and a couple hundred hours of data/voice, however that works out. However, I couldn't call or text so I got on their chat feature to try figure it out. Four customer service agents and half hour later, no one has an answer. They got a slightly tough question to answer and didn't want to bother so they dumped me. And no one could access previous chats so I had to re-enter all the info.
Some people said my phone number didn't exist. Others said it did exist but the SIM wasn't valid. One person said the SIM might not work if I had activated it. Apparently if you use it, you lose it. My main question was if the SIM expires after a certain period of time. No one wanted to answer that and instead dumped me. It used to be a good company but no longer. I will go to my main cell carrier, Tello, and look into a backup phone and pay as you go plan for emergency situations.

I have been a TracFone customer for over 20 years, recently bought a lively phone for my elderly husband… Was having difficulty transferring his number to lively, for over 2 weeks…Tonight I had tracfone customer service on one phone and lively on another trying to figure the problem as tracfone just kept denying the transfer. Finally found out it was a zip code error…. Asked the tracfone woman to stay on the line with me to be sure the transfer was made…She without a word of goodbye or anything, disconnected the call….Shame on you tracfone….I had your service and gave you my monies for over 20 years! Your customer service stinks! I will never use nor recommend your services again!

Although the reps try to be very polite. They are poorly trained and their English is very hard to understand. I was calling because of problems I was having with their auto-refill for the 3rd billing cycle in a row. After 3 calls to the call center, I could not get a good answer or the problem resolved. The next day I called again to have one the so-called "specialist"' process the auto-refill for me. After excessive repeated 'please hold I am checking this for you', I watched on "My Account app," "ALL" the extra Data, extra Minutes and extra texts that I accumulated over 20 plus years turn into all ZEROS.
In the past if I could not get the right answer or an answer at all. I could request a supervisor (usually could speak better English) who could resolve my issues, not anymore! They tell you there are not any supervisors available! The only advice I have is to keep trying to call till you find an associate that you can understand and can understand you.

TracFone is unable to provide continuity of service while porting in a telephone and does not have the protocols in place to provide effective customer service when issues arise with their system. Managers are unable to escalate issues to supervisors when the system does not work. In my case, I canceled my aunt's account due to poor customer service, and they have been unable to unlock her phone after 5 days and 8 separate calls. I heavily recommend using another service, especially if you are not tech savvy and dependent upon solid customer service from your provider. Their customer service personnel are kind and doing their best but are hamstrung by shortsighted customer service protocols that have no place for human intervention. I am fairly savvy at navigating providers and technology - I can't imagine how horrifying and overwhelming this would be for someone who isn't.

I bought a plan through Wal-mart with a sim kit. My phone was locked so I had to get another phone plus buy a new sim kit, they cancelled it with the first phone. Well, that phone worked but they cancelled my plan I bought because of the first phone not working. What kind of service is that? They said I needed to buy a new plan and sim card.

I was a longtime customer, but no more. I purchased a flip phone and a 365day unlimited talk & text for my mom. TWO MONTHS LATER the phone wouldn't call out, but said: "Please contact StraightTalk" and anyone calling her got the msg "This phone has calling restrictions." The first time we had this problem the customer service representative reset the phone & we were good to go. But, two weeks later the same problem happened. We called TracFone again who claimed the yr long activation card had been used up (in two weeks time) and they demanded a credit card and $99 minimum payment to turn the phone back on. So did the second representative. We will NEVER use Tracfone again as a family. That's a lot of members!

I was pretty happy with TracFone Wireless before Verizon bought it. Unless I am in my house, my connection to data fails regularly. Rebooting doesn't always help. Very annoying. Virtual VM doesn't work. I have 4 phones for business (two are not used very much, but I needed a local number), I thought this was a perfect, reasonably cheap solution. Not much good if you can't connect. Doesn't say much for Verizon.

I have been a Tracfone customer for over 10 years. I don't know what happened, but I'm out $119 for a locked phone & $199.99 plus tax, for a year's service. I've always purchased the yearly, to avoid any down time. It included unlimited texts, messages & 24GB data. Bought the new Tracfone January 2024. Got the yearly coverage February 2024. The 24GB data was dropping significantly every day. By the 3rd of March it was less than 4GB. Never in all the time I've been a customer has the 24GB been used up prior to near the 11th month of the yearly service.
Customer service made various suggestions on how to handle it. None worked! I'm stuck with a locked phone for a year. I can't even give the phone away, as it is locked. There is no brick or mortar location to actually take the phone to get assistance. I do not have a landline & I am a senior citizen. I need a reliable mobile phone. Fortunately, a number a friends suggested I deal with my financial loss of over $318 and drop Tracfone. What a relief to be done with whatever insanity caused the above issues. I would not recommend Tracfone to anyone. Especially since there are providers that offer a senior discount & you can actually go to a provider location & get support.

I have been using TracFone for years. In Sept 2023, I upgraded my malfunctioning Tracfone Samsung A01 (obtained in June 2023) to a Samsung A12 with limited data but unlimited talk and text and service to June 9, 2024. On Feb 20, I noticed I was out of data and tried to purchase 1GB for $10 via the Tracfone My Account site but was told my phone was "inactive" and I needed to call customer service. After an online Chat on 2/20 I was advised to phone Tracfone to resolve the issue. I called the morning of 2/21 and confirmed that I had unlimited talk and text until June 9, 2024.
The 1st rep tried submitting the 1 GB purchase and advised it would not go through. He advised that my phone was indeed working and appeared to not address the "Inactive" status I was seeing when I attempted to add/purchase the data. It would not permit me to even attempt to buy the data, He advised he would escalate and created a trouble ticket. He also advised he would put 1GB of data on my account...which still showed as "Inactive" when I went to the Tracfone My Account site. The data never appeared. I called back several times on 2/22 and spent several hours speaking with 2 reps who indicated that the problem was with my credit card (It is NOT since I have made other charges on it and it is nowhere near its limit.) We also attempted a second valid and active credit card with the same negative results. Three hours later, my Tracfone now only works for "Emergency calls" and it's IMEI no longer even appears on my account.
I'll be calling back tomorrow-too weary to do it now- but do not anticipate a better experience. The inability of Tracfone help me resolve this issue is appalling. (I had attempted repeatedly to re-activate the phone myself using both the cellphone AND desk-top access to my account with no success.) The last Tracfone rep I spoke with indicated they are experiencing wide outages and appeared to offer this as an excuse... But the problems I've experienced began 2 days ago. I am NO longer a happy customer and if it remains unresolved, I will be seeking an alternative to Tracfone.

I recently left Tracfone and went to another service, however my account was on autopay. I paid for service 1/14 to 3/14 using that system. When I discontinued my service on 1/12 they claim that since I did not disconnect from the auto pay when I ended my account that they could not give me a refund since I no longer had an account. They said they could not access my account since it was no longer in their system. Yet when I contested it with my credit card company they were able to access my account and lie that I owed them the money since I did not disconnect the autopay before I changed phone services. I found a service that provides unlimited phone, text and 5G internet for $2.50 a month more. I will not recommend Tracfone to anyone.

I have spent at least 5 hours with 5 different customer service reps over 5 weeks trying to get a refund of a defective phone I sent back. I used a preprinted UPS label that was sent to me to send the phone back and UPS tracking said the phone was received. First they said the phone was not received, then they said it was received, then they said it was sent to the wrong place. They could not explain why it was sent to the wrong place when I used the UPS mailing label that they emailed me. Then they said my bank account was credited with the refund, which was not true. Then they said my credit card got the refund, which was not true. I will have to gather all documentation and mail to Resolution center.

My phone service was turned off and I have plenty of minutes and texts. I was told by TracFone customer service to buy a new SIM card in order to use my phone. I bought the new SIM card but the phone does not recognize the SIM card. I have been back and forth with TracFone customer service. I keep getting answers from different reps. I just want my phone working again.

Purchased a cell phone from eBay. Said it was a Tracfone one. Did not say locked or unlocked so I assumed it was unlocked. Got it, had to buy a tracfone sims card just to see the imei number. Talked to 3-4 differ people, explained all I wanted to do is unlock it. Since I use Boost Infinity, they would never give me a supervisor. Since I did not know the original owner's pin and information!!! All the people I talked to refuse to unlock it for me!!! So now I am left with a Cellphone I bought but can not use!! After this experience I personally would never recommend Tracfone. John

PLEASE< be carefully with your money with this one because after their trickery, they do not allow refunds AT ALL. They don't tell you that phones come without chargers. You might be better off ordering from another company, even prepaid service is better.

I bought Tracfone's Verizon Total Wireless phone and have spent two months fighting with them over services, and then added the Government Internet Discounted service I purchased through Verizon, which is handled by Safe/Life Link and Tracfone keeps throttling or jamming the service that is provided through the United States Government.
Thieves, do not purchase their products, and service for customers is nonexistent. You spend days and weeks trying to get what you purchased only to be told, "you have to use what we think you have," and it doesn't matter if you purchased more services we claim we offer, they aren't going to give you the service because they aren't making any money off it. Tracfone is a burner phone for thugs, insurrectionists, and thieves. If you are a good person, paying your bills, save yourself the aggravation and pay more for a Reliable, Consistent, Honest provider. There are plenty of Americans looking for work, they outsource everything to India, aren't even patriotic enough to hire Americans.

After paying for the minutes on a new phone. I was hung up on by two Representatives. Then finally 2 hours later my third representative hung up on me after taking an hour and still couldn't get the phone activated. When I called back immediately, they were closed. I have literally had hundreds of Trac and minute phones over the last 20 years. I would have a brand-new phone activated and ready to go before I even left the parking lot. I can't believe after over 2 hours on the phone they just hung up and went home for the night.
They definitely do not understand English. The only responses are, "Ah okay that's good." I could write a book on what I went through in those two hours with TracFone's Fake Clueless Representatives, and the many red flags. At this point, I just want to get my money back and be done with this, get another minute phone from a different company. Definitely the last TracFone I will ever purchase. I truly feel like I'm a victim of a crime!!! This is absolutely Shameful and Disgusting business. PS If you don't use your minutes within the month you lose them. They used to roll over to the next month but not anymore.

FLASH!! Tracfone has just announced that they will no longer offer protection on their phones, which means if it's lost or stolen or broken or whatever, you are S. Outta Luck. In all fairness maybe their new Verizon daddies brought the hammer down, but I IMMEDIATELY discontinued my service with them. Then the OTHER thing is when you want to change companies and use your own phone, you USUALLY have to provide your phone account number and a code number they call a Transfer PIN, just so the old companies can track that you wanna leave.
Getting the account number is no problem but trying to get the transfer PIN outa them is like pulling teeth with tweezers. They question you like the Spanish Inquisition about "Why do you want to leave?" or they make you jump thru hoops like buying a NEW SIM card if your phone has been lost or stolen. But the WORST issue I had was the LACK of command of the English language their call center reps have, ESPECIALLY females. They are located in Nicaragua, Ecuador, Malaysia and elsewhere but NONE in the USA. I mean, I get it, you go to 3rd world countries because you get a bigger profit margin since you pay them pennies compared to what a US-based call center rep would get. That's business. But AT LEAST TEST them on their annunciation of words, speed at which they speak, and their tech savvy on looking up answers. Save your money! SAVE YOURSELVES.

Do not buy an iPhone SE 3 from TracFone. They do not activate. You will spends hours with overseas customer service reps who know nothing. This is a very well known issue, according to all the online complaints. Yet Tracfone continues to sell these phones that do not activate. Fraud.

I have been using Tracfone since before flip phones. I bought my own open Motorola smart phone and use the monthly smart phone $20 monthly unlimited talk and text with 2 GIGS of data with unlimited carry over, so the $20 monthly card says. I have been on this plan since March of 2022 and had accumulated over 19 gig of data. One day last week I tried to access my data when I was away from home and was denied. Upon further checking I found my data balance was (0) over 19 gig of data was wiped out overnight. After 5 calls to customer service, being disconnected 4 times I was finally able to get them to restore a little over 3 gig of data.
But it can only be used AFTER I have used up all my monthly data, I had to buy another card to actually get 2 GIG of data. Their customer rep more or less told me to go pound sand that according to THEIR records there was nothing more that they would do, and forget about talking to a supervisor, that's not gonna happen.
In summary, I GUESS YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!! They never have been known for their customer service, you're lucky to get someone that can half speak English, I have hung up on them a number of times hoping to get someone I can understand. In closing, if you expect NO SERVICE, you will not be disappointed.

I am on day 2 trying to activate my Tracfone and port my current phone # and current account (also with tracfone). Currently on day 2 with about 7 hours invested. Spoken with at least 8 reps and each have told me the phone is activated and it should work in a few minutes and then they hang up. Phone, of course, does not activate. Each rep starts at the very beginning again and refused to tell me what happened on the prior attempts. They are just not honest.

I just purchased a New iPhone SE 3rd generation phone right off of the Tracfone website, to replace my broken iPhone SE 2nd gen. I received my phone in two days which was great. I installed the supplied sim card, transferred all of the setting from my old phone to the new phone, which was extremely easy. I then proceeded to their website to transfer my phone number, I got to the point just after entering the sim number and the process locked up. I called Tracfone and after an hour or so, and being transferred to a manager, I was told they could not transfer the number to this phone as their system is not compatible with an e sim.
I explained I installed the supplied sim card; the manager tried the two different IMEI numbers that are on the phone, no luck. She would not transfer me to anyone above her that might be able to assist. Then told me I can try again to activate the phone at a later date. How can Tracfone sell a phone that cannot be activated and used? Sounds like fraud. Unfortunately, now I see others that had the exact same issue. Sounds like a class action lawsuit should be in the works. I was very happy with Tracfone for years. It seems now that Verizon bought them, their service is going downhill fast.

I was moving my phone account from my old phone to my new phone and called Tracfone to do that. I went through seven Customer Service Representatives before I talked to Anna. The other CSR's pretended to help me, but would just eventually hang up on me. Anna stayed with me until I was completely satisfied and I really appreciate that. So don't get discouraged and just keep calling back, there are good CSR's out there. It's a pain because you have to enter a lot of information each time you call, but you'll eventually find a good CSR. I also called late at night so that might have something to do with it.

Tracfone has decent phone and text service when it works. My data never worked. The customer service is terrible, rude, and not helpful. They have deactivated my service 2 times in the last 6 months when I purchased a 365 day service card in May 2023 and had plenty of minutes/texts/data available. The first time I was told to change my phone number because I moved to another state and that was why my service didn’t work. The second time it was deactivated was 2 months later and they will not restore my service. I still had 6 months of service I paid for. I had screenshots of my account to prove it but they wouldn’t reactivate my service. it. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

On 11/17/2023 at 1:28PM I made my first call to the technical support department of TracFone to add to my iPhone 11 Max Pro an e-Sim card, which my device is designed to support dual Sim cards. The trouble is that the customer technical support representatives don't speak English or understand the English language, and know what Sim or e-Sim cards are. After 40 or more phone calls, most of them were disconnected by the representative, and for 6.5 hours I end-up without cell phone service which I paid for.
Whoever answers to my calls after the first screening via the AI machine promised not to be worried or as it said 'No worries I will take care of you and I will fix things for you, and by the way what is your name?.' The representatives were giving conflicting information and instructions with broken English until I lost the service while I tried explaining/teaching them what an e-Sim card was.
Some of the representatives had said the TracFone company does not support any cell phone device that requires an eSIM card. Although, at the TracFone website, it says otherwise. And it didn't make any difference when I asked the representative to check the company website. Others said they set up an e-Sim card within my service which was not true. One of the Rep asked me to pay for my ongoing existing account which it's already paid for. When I asked to speak with her superior she refused, and claimed she had been training for that.
Fortunately at my last call which I made was at about 7:30PM, this time I was able to speak with a manager that claims he is a manager at the TracFone headquarter. For a change this manager spoke and understood the English language. He solved the problem and restored my cell phone service without updating the e-Sim card for my device. This manager had confirmed that TracFone do support and give Service for any types of cell phone Devices with any types of Sim card, of course, including the eSIM card.
I cannot understand why we the people that live in the United States get customer service overseas that cannot perform their duty as a customer service due to lack of English language, and our culture. I almost got heart attack just from the stress of that experience of losing my service and being on the phone with people that cannot help for about seven hours.

I bought a card and added 30 days unlimited talk and text + 2 gig data. The unlimited talk and text + the 2 gig of data were added but not the 30 days. This has happened several times before and as usual I've had to call their customer service to correct the problem, but this last time when I called they wouldn't correct the problem. The thing is the people in customer service lie and they make up stories that don't make sense.

I purchased a phone from them and put two months worth of service on it. It's now been a month and still wasn't able to activate it. The customer service is the worst. Full of foreigners who can barely speak English and pacify you with their horrible Customer service tactics. I am highly upset with this company. Will not be using them again. I don't understand how they are still in business.

I have been trying for 6 weeks. They get this phone working properly. Your phone is not compatible, the wrong IMEI number that you have to return the Sim to the original phone or for the original Sim back and phone and a brand new SIM card that I received from TracFone. I still have no internet access. I have literally spent that 20 hours trying to get this phone fixed. I've been trying every single day for 30 days and it's 25 minutes with every time there's no way to bypass that. I have been promised a call back I have been promised, I have never received a call back yet. It took one week just to get the phone to work at all so I'm currently in the hospital recovering from major surgery and I need a phone. Please heed my advice and stay, although they are the largest cell phone carrier in the United States they have the worst customer service. They have the absolute worst setup for going up a tier. Heed my warning or regret your choice!

What a terrible company. Service goes in and out over the year. They used to be good but lately they have not been good. I am just switching to Mint. They used to be so great but like all good things they have turned to crap. The phone rep half the time is not trained on what to do. so I have called them 6 times to try to transfer my number but I get a different answer each time.

I purchased a flip phone with a pre-paid plan through Tracfone for my son, and provided my credit card to auto-refill the phone every 3 months. The phone accidentally was destroyed in the washing machine. When I called the company to try to cancel the service, they took me through this complicated "verification process" that involved entering a 4 digit pin (which I successfully provided), and then either receiving a text on the phone (impossible, since the phone was destroyed) or alternatively, verbally providing 2 frequently used outgoing phone numbers within the prior 60 days to verify the account. I attempted this process of providing frequently called numbers 6 times and failed their "verification" process repeatedly.
I explained that the user of the phone (my 11 year old son) mainly calls one number (my phone number) and that there may not be a second number that meets their definition of "frequently called". They also refuse to read back the telephone numbers that are provided verbally over the phone, so for all I know, they are intentionally entering the wrong numbers. They refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor and could not provide any other method for me to cancel the service, other than calling my credit card company and putting a hold on the automated payments. It felt like a scam.

Upgraded my 12 year continuous Straighttalk iPhone to a new 15 ProMax purchased directly from them. The number transfer (old Tracfone to new ProMax) was completely botched. First, the new phone could not receive calls from any AT&T wireless customer- the other major carriers (Verizon, TMobile were fine). I'm not exaggerating- over 35 HOURS of tech support calls, escalated several times, mostly disconnected halfway through, multiple resets, eSim changes, switching IMEI's, etc. - nothing worked. They NEVER connected me to a network expert and anybody wasn't reading from a support script. They absolutely REFUSED to remove the carrier lock (I didn't have the phone for 60 days...) so I could try another service!
Finally the last "update" they sent to my new iPhone BRICKED IT! Endless activation loop, no access to Home Screen or anything else. Apple support with their hands on the phone could NOT get the phone to exit the loop. AppleCare phone support had no solution, it was a "carrier" issue. So I am sending the ProMax back for a full refund- BUT I HAVE TO PAY FOR SHIPPING AND INSURANCE ($56 UPS). That is their immutable policy, even though THEY CAUSED THE ISSUE! I have since TERMINATED their service and ported a 2nd iPhone ProMax to another carrier. My advice- AVOID THESE CLOWNS AT ALL COSTS.

I have been a Tracfone customer for years, and was extremely satisfied with their phones, plans and customer service. I recently purchased a phone to replace my elderly mom’s TracFone. When the phone arrived it was a TCL phone, but included a Nokia back for the phone, which of course didn’t fit. I did an online chat with Tracfone, then got a call back.
The person I spoke with was extremely rude. Also, she kept wanting to text me on the phone that was broken, even though I had already told her the phone no longer worked. She finally told me to send back the non working phone I had just received, and within 30 days I would get a replacement or refund. I told her I wasn’t happy with that arrangement, but would send it back. I did another chat to complain about the service, and the representative told me that since I wouldn’t cooperate, there was nothing he could do! I asked him if Tracfone had been bought by another company, and he told me they are now owned by Verizon. This does not speak well for Verizon.

My Tracfone service is a part of an upcoming migration. I have been trying for a year to get information about this migration. I can no longer buy a Tracfone that will work in my zip code. Customer service has never given me answers. They abruptly end my calls and chats. Very disappointed with their disinterest in my need to know.

I have been a TracFone customer for years in various different locations and have never had an issue that the customer service representatives, or website help couldn't fix fairly promptly. However! I recently (few days ago) moved to another state and discovered that the sim card I had was not offering great reception and so I updated all of my information in my account on the website and purchased another sim card which was supposed to offer better service in my new area. I received it reasonably promptly and this morning I installed it and went to activate it. Over two hours later, two live chats, and seven (yes SEVEN) calls later, I have told them to deactivate my account as I will be going elsewhere.
I was hung up on multiple times. I was asked to repeat the same information on each call (apparently they can't read or don't keep notes from the calls), I was given the runaround and eventually after 30+ minutes on the phone with the last CSR, I was told they needed to "reboot the system, call back in 30 minutes". I am now left with a phone that has no service. I was told to "borrow a phone" when I said I couldn't get a verification text from them during the calls to verify my account. Ok, older woman, I'll just go out on the street, or knock on a random neighbor's door and ask to borrow their phone to conduct my business. Verizon has put the last nail in the coffin of TracFone. Don't do it!

Talked to three folks today at Tracfone. I tried to inform them that the record of my minutes was incorrect. They said it was not wrong and hung up. I tried "chatting" with a rep and was informed that the machine which records the minutes did not make mistakes. She agreed to have a higher office contact me. The higher office informed me of my minutes which was still wrong. When I explained that was the reply from the previous two reps she hung up. No satisfaction. Guess I will live their machine's number with or move.

Tracfone debited my account 3 times in one day that was not authorized by me. Sunday at 8:36, 8:54, and 9:04 pm for services that their representative said was not compatible for my cell service. When I inquired about refunding my money, representative informed that they would only refund me 2 of the charges. I am enrolled and approved in Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which allows me to unlimited calls and text. I do not know why they are charging me and refuse to refund all the charges ($32.42). As told to me by the representative, "There's nothing I can do about it." I consider this to be fraudulent, unprofessional, and unethical behavior.

I was trying to activate my wife’s SIM card that’s through Straight Talk Wireless. I bought my SIM card activation kit at Walmart for $37.68 all together. It came with two SIM cards and an activation PIN number that’s worth $35 dollars. I called in the first time at 5:18pm CST and got hung up on while on hold. Then I called in at 5:27pm CST and the lady on the phone yelled at me for using SIM card B that is apparently for AT&T and I was suppose to use Sim Card A. We got into it and then she hung up on me. Then after that I spoke to 9 other representatives on the phone and they all hung up midway through when trying to activate my wife’s phone. I was told conflicting information the entire time. A list of some of the things I was told.
- My wife’s iPhone 13 is not able to use a SIM card and they would need to use a ESIM.
- The SIM card has been activated and it should work in 30 minutes.
- We will give you a call back (Which Never Happened).
- Sim Card B is for AT&T and Sim Card A is Verizon.

A few weeks ago, my wife purchased a Samsung phone from Tracfone. In the process of transferring her data and activating it, she discovered the phone would not complete calls to Verizon customers with Apple phones, which constituted many of her contacts. She called Tracfone customer service several times to find a fix, only to be humiliated, frustrated, and stressed. The first person gave her a process to try to fix the Samsung problem and promised to call her back in 30 minutes to make sure it worked. It didn’t, and she never called. My wife tried three more times with different company operators who offered three different fixes, all promising to call her back. Not one of them did!
This happening once indicates a bad employee. Four times reflect serious and systemic problems with the company, especially in how it treats its customers. As it turns out, this problem has been associated with this type of Samsung phone for some time, yet none of the customer service people at Tracfone mentioned it. In the end, she sent the phone back and finally got a refund days later, after more phone calls.
This treatment is unacceptable. We have been long-time Tracfone customers, but no more. We will be cancelling our service when our previously purchased minutes expire and switch to another company even though it will charge more. The treatment that my wife received from Tracfone is unacceptable from any company at any time, let alone one we had trusted for years.

Save yourself time, money and frustration by NOT enrolling in TracFone products or services. The phones that I have purchased from Tracfone only last a few months and then need to be replaced. I had insurance in the event the phone decided not to work. They stated that I must return the phone before they can replace it. So they send me the information but I could not use any of this information as it would not print the shipping label, or could not use the invoice number to ship UPS. They had to physically send to me the shipping label. Once I received it, I took it to UPS to ship in which it did reach its destination, however, I never received my replacement. This happened to me twice already.
In addition, every time I attempt to contact Tracfone, they always disconnect me so we cannot find out what is going on. Their customer service is terrible, the quality of their products and services are awful. I cannot express enough on what a terrible organization they are. Save your money and go with a more reputable provider. I will never again use Tracfone and if you do decide to go with them, get ready for incompetence, frustration and disappointment. Be wise and find someone else to provide a cell phone service. I decided to go with **.

I have been trying to help my aunt port out of Tracfone to a legitimate provider for a month now. They have told me "all you need to do is wait for our system to send you a transfer pin," which never comes. Also their estimated wait time is 80 minutes for them. When you consider their phones have poor service quality to begin with, this is ABSURD. The better business bureau should immediately disband them for these clearly PREDATORY tactics. My aunt has severe medical issues and needs to contact doctors (which is a struggle at the minimum on their network). Worst customer service I've ever seen in my life and predatory systems that bank on their own inefficiencies. It's honestly insane they still exist. Again, the BBB should seriously look into disbanding them immediately.

I upgraded my Samsung J2 phone to a new iphone 11. Love the phone. Activation nightmare. After multiple calls to customer service, and multiple calls being dropped, repeating the varied procedures multiple times with no results. I spent three days without service. I had to buy a new service plan. I do not recommend Tracfone. Customer service is the worst.

I was a customer with a flip phone for 20 years. But in the last 6 months, they kept shutting off various services, like MMS, then text then even voice calls. I would get their customer service to repair, but a couple weeks later it would fail again. This went on for months. I decided to switch to Verizon. That's when I discovered TF LOCKED my phone. 1 day to get that undone. Now they are blocking the transfer. And even though I am verified by them, they insist on texting a code to my old number, which of course doesn't work anymore cause I'm on Verizon. No amount of pleading worked.
I have spent 6 full days fighting with TF to get my phone working and then transferred. They are a nightmare to deal with. It's Kafkaesque. My old phone won't work, yet they insist on sending a text to it before they will let me activate a new phone. I now have to buy a new SIM card to try and restore my old phone number. And hope it works. Because 2-factor authorizations are sent to my dead phone, I am locked out of several financial portals. Never buy a Tracfone. Unless you never want to switch, and just accept what they give you.

Used TracFone for years without any issues. Then my minutes disappeared, couldn't receive/make any phone calls for a month, and customer service was no help. I called (using another phone) three times, and got a different story each time. Tried chatting online, and wasn't able to get anything definitive. Was promised multiple times my issue would be escalated and I'd get a call back, but never got anything. TracFone used to be extremely affordable, but now it's cheaper to go elsewhere.

I had a Tracfone account until December of 2022, so I had a Tracfone phone, my computer was hacked in January 2023, so I cancelled my account, although they said it had already been cancelled. This month I purchased a new sim card and a one-month plan, I wanted to see how easy it was to work with, before I purchased the plan for one year. I am glad I did, because I am only out the one-month charge.
When I tried to set up new plan, with new number, I had to speak to three people who could not help me, after about 3 hours on phone, they wanted additional information that I could not see without a magnifying glass, I told the agent I needed to get the magnifying glass, when I returned to the phone, she had hung up on me. I have never had such poor service in my life. I am a retired customer service manager, so I know what is good and what is not. Do not buy from this company, if you do, buy the one month plan to see how it works. It didn't work for me. I will get a plan with a new company.

On 8/21/2023 I printed out my Tracfone stored up years of minutes, texts, data and service end date of 4/8/2027. I called Tracfone to port a Visible # to my Tracfone. I spent 3 1/2 hours on the phone with them on 8/22/23 trying to get everything back on my phone. They said they could not find anything. They deleted/stole everything and refused to give me back my stored up minutes/text/data and service date. What a scam company.

I have use Tracfone wireless for a while now and I have had no issues. I have had even less issues when I switched from T-mobile to Tracfone. It works as needed but there are quite a few towers that don’t support TFW but that is usually not a problem.

I don't understand all the negative reviews. I can't speak for their phone purchase program since I had my own phone when I joined. I was an AT&T customer for years, and while AT&T service is great, their pricing isn't. I personally believe that AT&T is guilty of false advertising. I have NEVER been able to get any deal they advertise. It is always much more than what they advertise. But, it is a big company, there is no fighting back.
So, A coworker told me about TracFone. To be honest, I had heard of them but assumed it was a company that sketchy people use. When Paul told me he pays $25 a month, I thought he was lying. I finally gave it a try and he was correct. For $25 a month, pre paid, I get all the calls and texts I want plus 3GB of data. I really don't need that much data because I am usually connected to WiFi, but still I am under no contract and pay nearly half of what I was paying with AT&T. It doesn't get much easier than that.
So I read the bad reviews and I honestly don't get it. I have been using TracFone for a year and finally decided just to pay the $199 and go for the full year. Unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 24GB of data. I don't have to worry about paying $25 a month for a whole year. I seriously don't understand why people aren't doing this. Why stay with AT&T and pay for the exact same service I am getting for half that money?

When I renewed my service plan online, I noticed that they tax me at a rate of 8%. I reside in Delaware County, Pa. The tax rate is 6%. I attempted to call customer service but that was a waste of time. I then went online to chat with a rep named Marjorie, she was as rude as can be, when I informed her what happened. It may seem like a small amount to one customer, but if they do this to everyone, a Class Action lawsuit should be considered. When you checkout please check the tax amount on your purchases.

DO NOT USE Tracfone!!! My plan was set to expire in November 2023 and currently had 975 min, 822 texts, and 1.01 gigs of data remaining. Knowing I wouldn't use all of that, as this is a backup phone for work. I purchased a 1 year extension on May 20 carrying me until Nov of 2024. Out of the blue the other day I get an email stating my service was set to expire on July 29 unless I renew. (Where did that date come from??) So, I called Tracfone yesterday the 29th and spoke to Victor (Employee#518484) who assured me he had set my phone to reflect the correct expiration date 11/20/24 at midnight. I wake up this morning and you guessed it NO PHONE!!! Tracfone just stole $80.00 from me. The employees outright lie to get you off the phone!
