I purchased a TracFone about 4 days ago, for the ease of purchasing minutes and no contracts to get into.It has been nothing but sheer frustration ever since. keep in mind that these people must be from a foreign country somewhere and you have a hard time understanding them. So far I have been on my home phone for over 9 hours trying to get my activation and minutes that I paid for. I did get the phone activated after a few hours but have been unsuccessful so far in acquiring my purchased minutes. All the people at Tracfone do is have me punch numbers in over and over again. Then they transfer you to another department and say there is an error or issue. Then the struggle starts all over again because that department has no clue as to what is going on. Then they say they must talk to a supervisor and you are put on hold again.

Then the story repeats itself all over and over again. Then they tell me to call backin 24 hours or 48 hours because there is an error. They give you an administration number to call back with. That is suppose to correct the error or issue. When you call back with that number the person you are talking to has no clue as to what the administration number is. Then it starts all over again. Finally when I was so frustrated I asked to speak to a supervisor. He says there is an issue and then , puts you on hold and tells you to call back in 24 hours, or he transfers you to someone else. I requested to speak to the head boss. He gets on and says there is an error and tells me to call back in 48 hours.

So I ask him to call me when they get the problem fixed and he says they don't call customers. I ask him why and he says because it is company policy and hangs up on me. I call back again and they say I can return the phone to Dollar General Store with no problem. Not true. So I take the phone to dollar General Store and the Manager said that the phone has been activated and it can't be returned. And my minutes will be lost if we don't get them on the phone. The Manager at Dollar General has been extremely helpful. She has been on the phone for hours over the last two days trying to get my minutes for me. She has been going through the same frustrating experience as me.

I had originally purchased 60 minutes which we were unsuccessful in acquiring. The people at TracFone tell the manager that there is a glitz in the system, but if I purchase additional minutes, that all of my minutes will be put on with absolutely no problem. Not true. I purchased 30 more minutes and we are at step one again, and they tell the Dollar General Manager to wait 48 hours to see what happens. She is in the process of waiting fo Corporate from TracFone to call her back. They promised to call her in 2 hours and the problem would be fixed. Not true. They never called back. The Dollar General Manager and myself are at the point of a nervous breakdown over this. The Manager at the Dollar Store is still struggling to get my minutes for me.

I lost $50 for the TracFone and the 90 minutes I purchased. I spent 9 1/2 hours on my home phone trying to get my minutes. The manager at the Dollar Store has spent hours on the phone also.During this ordeal I felt like I was going to have a nervous breakdown over it. I have never been so frustrated in my entire life, the cost of that is priceless.

I travel alot and I need a cell phone for emergencies and security reasons. I purchased a Tracfone at WalMart right before Christmas 2007. I immediately began having problems with it. I could never receive minutes I added without having to call Customer Service. This meant 1-3 hrs on a land phone if one was available, entering what seemed like a never-ending amount of very long code numbers. I told the rep from the beginning that the phone was malfunctioning but, no one seemed to listen.

Many times I took the phone back to WalMart and they were put through the same process as I was going through. Then one day the Add Airtime Minutes option disappeared. Now I can't even add airtime minutes!WalMart reps and I went through this seemless torture until April 24, 2008 when a rep decided my phone was malfunctioning. I was told I would receive a new phone in the mail and to mail the malfunctioning phone back. I did not receive a new phone at all but, a reconditioned one.

Guess what, when I tried to activate it, I was on a land phone for 4 hrs talking to a rep who finally told me I would have to send the replacement phone back and would receive another phone. I told the rep that I wanted a new phone, not a reconditioned one. After all, the original phone was new and it never worked. He said he would request a new phone to be sent but, he would not guarantee it. He said a reconditioned phone is really all I could expect. Well, I received my replacement reconditioned phone today and when I tried to activate it I noticed that the Add Airtime Option was missing, right out of the box!

I lost it at that point. I told the rep I was going to report them to the BBB and the complaint would never be resolved so if anyone is thinking of buying a Tracfone and wishes to check the company out with the BBB, my unresolved complaint will be there for all to see. As of right now my phone has begun functioning perfectly. However, I am not holding my breathe. Trust me if you are looking for a prepaid phone try another brand for your own sanity.

The phone only cost 14.99 plus tax, but I cannot even imagine how much time, aggravation, lost business calls from a non-functionig phone, trips to WalMart and aggravation this company has caused me and my Contacts. Buyer Beware!

I have been reading all these complaints regarding Tracfone, which I have also gone through. Practically exactly similar circumstances; ie; the long waits on hold, the foreign speaking customer service reps and the long wait for a supervisor...must take a long time from Columbia reaching a supervisor in the States. Anyway, I have my third phone I just purchased from Tracfone, but my husband's phone was due for more airtime, so I used a credit card online to order him the $19.99 card. He rarely uses his phone, so its hard to remember to get another card. Anyway, I got the information all typed in, sent it, but his phone has never accepted the time. I am beginning to feel very uneasy about having used a credit card, and wish I had read this site before I did that. But to make things even worse, suddenly their web site became unavailable...due to the heavy volume during this holiday season.

I kid you not...that is what it is saying today/last night, shortly after I paid for the time for my husband's phone. This is just horrible customer service. I also checked out their Net 10 web site, and it says its Busy. Perhaps this company just folded its tent and crept away in the middle of the night? I also read the message from the alleged employee of Tracfone, talking about how the customers scream, holler, yell. amd curse at them...well, heck yeah we do...if you were treated this badly you would too. One other thing I wanted to say, is to Len...you can understand their customer service reps? Wow...don't know how you do it...that is quite a feat!

I know what I am in store for tomorrow...making a phone call to ask why the time I purchased never went into my hubby's phone. I will take notes this time to see what ridiculous answer they give me. His time is not up until April 30th, so they can't say his phone is inactivated. I really liked the concept of not having to deal with a two year contract, and an outlandish bill, since we are both retired, and can't afford the high bills we had before with a contract company. I wish someone would look into this company and get to the bottom of their very poor customer service and the insane need to enter all those numbers when you need to activate a phone. That is just madness!

I will be out $22 this time, if hubby's minutes never get put on his phone, and will probably end up having to buy him a new phone too...his has no way to add airtime via the phone itself. We both had the same model and make of phone, but mine allowed me to add airtime through the phone. It costs more in your time and patience and sanity than I can even guess!

I have had several tracphones over the years - I added minutes from a phone card and it did not double the minutes. When I called tracPhone to report the missing minutes they had me on hold for a total of over an hour. I was told the double minutes were never put on the phone (I have had the double minutes since 9/12/07.

When I asked to talk to a supervisor he could not speak English any better than the previous person I had been talking with. When I asked for a record of minutes for this phone I was told he could not provide me with this information. I have had several problems with the last two phones we have had with this company. I will not recomend TracPhone to another person. I would like to get the information to people that when you buy a TracPhone be prepaired to sit on hold and not speak to an ENGLISH person. All I was told was I'm sorry I cannot help you. - I am the supervisor on call

I had prepaid service with 80+ minutes and no expiration date until 12/20/08. When I went to use my phone, prerecorded messages informed me that my number was not registered in the area and that I needed to provide a credit card number or PIN number to make a phone call. I called TracFone and was told the minutes on my phone had been transferred to another phone and that unless I could provide the phone number and ESN # of the new phone they could not transfer my minutes back.

Since neither my husband nor I did this I couldn't provide the required info. I requested a refund and was told they don't provide refunds. All my husband and I can guess is that when he purchased a new TracFone and after 6-7 calls and many hours was finally able to transfer the prepaid minutes and old phone number, they must have mixed up the account numbers. But the numbers for his old phone don't match their records. And we no longer have the new phone. My husband was so disgusted with the service he received that he decided to cut his losses to TracFone and returned the new phone to at least get his money back on that.

Loss of money for prepaid service, need to purchase a new phone with another company, loss of time with 2.5+hours on the phone with TracFone reps plus time spent selected a new phone, no cell service for work, emergencies, contact with my children's school and babysitters since I work all over the city.

The double minutes worked fine until April 2008 on the 19th I added a 60 minute card and only received 60 minutes. I called customer service and was told My double minute card had expired. I talked to four people the third being someone claiming to be the manageing supervisor, I asked to talk to his boss and he stated that I would have to call back on monday in order to do that. And was promptly hung up on. I called right back and spoke to a woman who had me program some numbers in my phone that reset my phone and was told that was all that could be done for me saturday.

So, I called again today, went through the process again and was told by Jair the manageing suppervisor today that I could not talk to his boss and that he was the last person that would ever speak to me on this subject. I again requested to speak to his boss and he said I had to provide him with my contact information that they might contact me. I informed him that he already had my contact information. I then asked for his name his reply Jair. When I asked for his last name he refused it, so I asked for his ID# with some reluctence and after asking for it several times he answered 59411. He then said sence I refused to give my contact information no one would be calling me and hung up.

So, I called back again I talked to a woman who informed me that they did indeed have my contact information, she also provided me with the address. I thanked her and ended my conversation. It all boils down to they want me to purchase another doulble minutes for the life of the phone card.

at present 19.99 plus taxes and it seems to me they are trying to extort 49.99 plus taxes. Emotional mental durass as I am totaly and permantly disabled due to depresion and seizure disorder (siezures are caused by stress and anxiety).

When attempting to use the website to add additional minutes to my tracfone, the system would not accept a valid mailing address (APO AA). I am living overseas on assignment for a U.S Government agency and while I can't use the tracfone presently I did want to have it for my next return trip to the United States.

After calling the help desk and speaking for over 30 minutes with three differnet individuals who insisted that their system did not recognize a valid military address, I gave up and hung up.

I simply wanted to add minutes to the phone so that when I returned to the U.S. I would have a means of immediately communication.

I find it deplorable that a U.S company does not recognize as valid a bona fide military address.

I moved from Washington state to Indiana. I wanted a local phone number on my cell phone. Customer service with this company is ABYSMAL. I have spent several weeks, at least 10 calls (45 to 60 minutes each), talked to numerous supervisors, had promises of a new SIM card and new phone, entered codes -- and STILL have no service! It doesn't help that the customer service people 1) speak very bad English 2) constantly have to refer to a supervisor 3) put one on hold for extended periods of time 4) constantly apologize (I am so sorry for your inconvenience). All I want is a phone that works! I had no trouble with my phone in Washington, and hoped to continue service with TracFone. Judging from complaint websites, I am far from alone in this problem.

My blood pressure has gone up 20 points. I have spent easily 5 or 6 hours on the phone when I could be doing something more useful. I do not have a working cell phone, and the 51 remaining minutes on it are a $40 (or so) loss if I do not get service. I do not trust this company and think there may be a systematic effort on their part to defraud consumers, and leave them hanging until they give up in disgust.

After several years my Tracfone prepaid wireless cell phone ceased to operate. I called customer service and they said my phone was an old model which would no longer work with their system because of an upgrade. They sent me a new phone for free. When I tried to activate my new phone they said they could not transfer my 40 minutes of remaining time to the new phone. They gave me 60 minutes instead.

Tracfone gave me a new phone and additional time for nothing. They really know how to keep customer singing their praises. Several people I know have related similar positive experience with Tracfone. Because of their way of treating customers, our family has three Tracfone.

Three years ago, I gave up on my TracFone because the Cingular network they assigned was worthless where I live. Recently, hoping that things had changed, I e-mailed TracFone and asked whether I could get the Verizon network (the only one that works reasonably well here). After two irrelevant replies, I finally was assured that Verizon was the network for my area code. When I tried to reactivate the old phone, I discovered in a very lengthy, broken-English phone call, that it would no longer work, but that TracFone would send me a new, $15 Motorola to replace my old $49 Nokia. When the new phone arrived, I discovered (a) that its battery would not take a charge and (b), after another hours conversation, that my network would be Cingular! I decided to give TracFone one more chance. They are sending me a replacement phone and I will try to get them to honor their assurance that I can have Verizon. Truthfully, I am not holding much hope.

Consequence: a waste of this writer's valuable time.

On Friday 02/08/2008, I went to Target and bought a TracFone and a $139.99 airtime card (it adds 1 year service to end date, double minutes when added for life of the phone and 800 minutes plus 200 bonus minutes with code). I tried to activate over the internet and it did not work. I called tracfone Twice on Saturday, once on Sunday and twice on Monday. The phone never was activated. I realized that the reciept did not say activation succesful. One of the supervisors that I talked to said he thought that the phone was a problem and I should take it back and they would transfer the card over to the new phone, so I did on Monday 02/11/2008. I got stuck buying a more expensive phone just to avoid the same problem.

I called and got the phone activated and noticed they only put 800 minutes on the phone, no bonus minutes or 1 year plan or the double minutes. I called them back again and the said, no that card was only good for the life of the phone. I told them the phone never had a life as they could not get it activated. They finally gave me the 1 year and the bonus minutes, but not that double minutes for the life of the phone. They told me to go back to Target again and have them call them and tell them I bought the card. When I said this is ridiculous she said well there is a lot of fraud out there. It seems to me she works for the leader of the pack. I am still waiting for the double minutes. (TracFone's favorite line is please hold for 2 or 3 minutes and another 24 Hours, I can't tell you how many times I heard that in the past week.)

$200.00 for phone and card, and over 6 hours on the phone with them in the past week. I lost my voice and it got much worse trying to deal with them.

Within the past six months the ability to check my messages from a land line has disappeared. The only way I can access this service, which I've already prepaid for, I will need to continue to buy and use my tracfone minutes to access these messages. Three weeks ago I lost this phone, as a result of this change in my service conditions, I was unable to access my messages as I had previously been able to do by simply pushing # and my pin #. Do not buy prepay for any service from this company unless you are willing to have them change the conditions of your service mid-stream. This whole realm of adding minutes to a cell phone is totally useless. You cannot add minutes to redeem time on the motorola V170 phone itself because this feature has disappeared from the menu. You try to redeem minutes with a pin number on a phone card that you purchase via the Internet and this doesn't work either, even after you follow pages and pages of instructions. You call and ask to speak to someone in customer service and after being put on hold for an eternity you finally ask to speak to a Supervisor. Nightmare with Tracfone. I merely wanted to change from a Motorola picture phone back to my previous Motorola with buttons my large fingers could hit with confidence and that has a decent antenna for our semi-rural location. On my first call to a live person (English is not the first language of these employees) I repeated reams of information, each word of which was repeated back to me. I only wanted my 407 units transferred to the old Motorola. A case number was given to me, and I was forwarded to the credit card people. Why do I need to buy more time when I have over 400 units? Its the way it works. I don't need the minutes, but Ill pony up $20.00 just to get service going again. I get a few minutes into the process, and the system cuts me off. Start all over again. Finally they take my $20.00, tell me to wait 4-6 hours and then use my phone. I do. NOTHING.

I call again three days later when I have enough time to spare for another round with these people. Hundreds of code entry numbers later, taking nearly an hour, I am assured everything will be fine. Wait another bunch of hours, being sure my phone is plugged in. Still NOTHING. Now it's January 4, a week after starting this process. A zillion more numbers later and a dozen more "May I put you on hold for 3 minutes, Sir, while I talk to supervisor?"--and still no service. By now I have talked to Helena, Miriam, Ernest, Judy, Yvonne and a couple whose names I didn't get, not to mention a couple of supervisors. January 5, I get Gustavo. Fifteen digits of entry code later he asks me to try to call a number, and it WORKS!

I have spent nearly ten hours on the phone with Tracfone tech people. I have been without service for nearly two weeks. I had to purchase unwanted extra units. I had to beg for an extension of the rollover date. And my frustration level has been off the charts. Good luck to all of us who use Tracfone in the future!

I've been a dissatisfied Tracfone customer all along, about a year and a half now, and I'm a guy who's not very difficult to please. My first Tracfone was a Motorola Model 120-t that I bought at Dollar General for $20 in 2006 and it never worked very well in my area. I had to leave the house and drive to high, flat ground to make calls, which was ridiculous. I was stupid enough to put up with this for over a year, adding air time when I had to or else lose my phone number, until I had 460 unused air time units, which was worth about $200 at $25 a clip. But I was still unable to make or receive calls except in areas where I did not live. I thought the network service would improve but it didn't and I eventually let my service expire with all those unused minutes on them.

I have had a Tracfone for several years for emergencies while traveling. The concept is perfect for me. But, there is a change in technology. The idea of dealing with their service depart. sends chills down my spine. You must plan on at least one hour and be in a very, very patient mood. In Sept of 2007, I bought, at a local Target, a new airtime card for 1 year of service and 400 minute of air time. This brings my available minutes to almost 1200 minutes. So I called to activate my new phone. 40 minutes. You have to wait for it to work. Days go by and still no service. I finally get my nerve up and call. It still doesn't work. I wait awhile, and call again.

Eventually, after talking to at least three people, someone finally tells me that the new Motorola doesn't work in my area, although they are still selling it in my area. They will send me a new phone, I must return the old phone. OK, I have to travel for Thanksgiving without a phone. Not something I'm comfortable with. I get the new one, and send back the old one. I called again today. Over an hour later, they tell me that they can't give me back the 1175 minutes they owe me without checking with their lawyers. I'll have to keep trying back - they can't contact me with the lawyers answer. 1175 minutes is a lot of money. Of course the receipt from Target has expired, the minutes are nonrefundable and I will travel for Christmas with no phone. I don't know about the others whose emails I read, but I'm going to cut my losses and go for another company. Of course, I'm in a target age group for Tracfone, 58. This is the age group where we don't want to be without a cell phone even though we might not need daily service. I also don't want to be terrified of calling my mobile phone provider because of the aggrivation. I won't go through it again.

I called the 800 number to get it straightened out. What a hassle. The person I was speaking to could not understand me and I could not understand him. I was so disgusted, I hung up. I called again later and got another foreigner. I asked for someone who could speak English that I could understand and was told that he was it. I asked where he was speaking from and he told me Columbia, Latin America. Well after a long and frustrating time, the first problem was cleared up. The other problem is that we purchased a card that was supposed to give us 150 bonus minutes, promotional code 53911. We did not get them and I would like to know why. Who do I call to find out how to get them added to the minutes already on my phone? Someone here in the USA, who speaks and understands English?

I called and tried to talk to a representative and he did not speak English or understand English well enough to understand that we had already added minutes and wanted to make sure the transaction had been completed. This is not the first time. It continues to be a problem every time we have to speak to to your Support Service. This time we added minutes on the computer and I have the confirmation in hand that my card has been charged and the new date is May 4, 2008. Something has to be done to give their customers service when they try to communicate with you.

I feel absolute frustration. We will not recommend this product and service to family and friends nor will we continue to use it ourselves when we can make other arrangements for a cell phone. At least then we can call someone and fix whatever problem we might have. We are old, handicapped and can not get out so we thought Tracfone would give us a sense of well being and protection if we needed to reach neighbors or family for help. It has been nothing but a disappointment. We cannot even depend on having service if we need it.

I have called their customer service line 1-800-867-7183, got the press a number for this or that, and always get the run-around to different employees speaking broken English. I had over 1200 minutes balance on the old phone but cannot call the new phone. It says 10 units airtime. A call from a landline gets the message that the number you dialed is not a working number. I have been passed around, on at least FIVE (5) calls, to different people with poor English, and have had to repeat things such as serial number, SIM#, IMEI#, my name, landline phone #, zip code, over and over. The last employee I talked to, Duma in Bogota, Columbia, kept asking me the same questions because my system is falling down. Her only solution was to give me a different case number so I can call back and talk to someone else. Yeah, and get the run-around from others equally deficient in English skills. Their lack of service amounts to consumer fraud.

I have spent at least 3 hours trying to communicate with these people and get the phone activated. I am a health care professional. My time is worth $90.00 per hour, but the frustration and stress cannot be quantified, not to mention the lack of emergency phone service.

My Tracfone (model C139) one day mysteriously erased all of its air and service time, and I had recently added a 200 minute, one year time card. Even if I used all the minutes I should still have had over 6 months of air service remaining. But both the time and air service were simply gone! A Tracfone rep (she was thankfully a good English speaker) kindly explained that since I had not purchased an extended service contract for the phone and it was older than one year, they consequently had no records, and there was nothing to do about it except for me to buy a new phone and air time-service card.

It is one thing when a customer loses their phone but another thing when a modern working phone mysteriously erases all of its time and no one at Tracfone can make good on it. From now on I will only buy 60 minute cards to limit my losses should this event reoccur. I'm out approximately $75.

On 11/16/07, I spent 1 hour and 25 minutes with 3 different service reps at the TracFone 1-800 # explaining the problem. After getting dropped almost immediately the first time I was connected with an operator and being placed on hold eleven different times and repeating the same information over and over, I finally spoke to a supervisor who had a clue about how to resolve the problem and get a replacement phone! Even then, it took another 25 minutes to complete the order.

I have never dealt with such an incompetent staff of tech services operators. I ended up going to a different and better service but lost my prepaid Tracfone monies and minutes, plus lost my long-standing phone number and contacts for that number. My Tracfone number, however, is locked into through 2010.

I have tried online, through Tracfone, and by regular landline, but nothing works. It says that minutes will be added shortly, but it never happens.

Yesterday I bought another regular cell phone that is paid for monthly. This is the only way to go.

They sent me a new one at no charge and everything was fine until I tried to contact them to transfer my phone number from the old phone to the new phone, that is when I feel into Tracfone's blsck hole of customer service. Tracfone's customer service is absolutely terrible. Pray to God you never need to call this company for help as they do not hire enought people to handle their business needs. There is always some excuse why the wait times are so long or why they have to bounce you around from place to place and putting you on hold for unbelieveable wait times. Tracfone also hires people who speak with broken english making it almost impossible to work out any problems you are experiencing.

Bought a tracfone and a 60 unit air time card in April 2007, activated the phone, made a test call and then did not use it for a few months until the 10 unit airtime it came with expired.

I had to reactivate the phone via website and then added the 60 unit air time minutes that I had purchased, which I was able to do in AUG. I used the phone ONCE to call home and used ONE UNIT of air time, which left me with 59 units.

Now, on Oct 5, 2007, after keeping the phone charged, phone will not work. Will not make a call and the message on it says UNREGISTERED SIM. It also says there is only 1 bar for connection when before it was all bars.

I went to the website once again to check on my account and it confirms that my phone service is active and my 59 units are good until Dec, 2007.

But no way to make a call now. This phone was purchased for use in the car or away from home, for emergencies. I guess now I am SOL.

Could not make contact with customer service when I phoned and a recorded message said reps were busy - approx 30 minute wait to speak to a rep.

We purchased a Tracfone at Target on 9/9/07 and activated it that same day. It was a promotion for $99.99 which gave you a Motorola Tracfone and a 400 minute airtime card, plus 20 extra free minutes if card activation done on-line. After using just 34 minutes of airtime, per the cell phone call history of both incoming and outgoing calls, the balance of the airtime disappeared. I attempted to call the 800 number listed above at least 10 times in the last five days. I either wait or am never connected, disconnected before ever getting a live person, or told there is such high call volume that I can't even be put on hold. This is all through an automated system. Today I waited on hold for 104 minutes, after being given an expected wait time of 30 minutes, and finally gave up again. We have tried to request help on-line but we continually are confronted with server error and can't get any further. I want my 386 minutes of airtime back or a full refund. There is absolutely no customer service available.

I am without a cell phone because there are supposedly no airtime minutes left. I am also out $99.99 plus tax = $102.35.

I've had my current phone for almost a year with no problems. I recently attempted to use the TracFone to extend the service date on my phone, only to be informed that there were technology incompatibilities with the model of phone that I use and that no time/units would be added to my phone. A replacement phone was offered free of charge, and I was told that I would have to call Customer Service when the phone arrived to transfer my number and mintues. The phone arrived okay, but after being on hold for almost 30 minutes the Customer Service Rep told me that there was a problem with the SIM card and a replacement would be sent free of charge. I was approaching the end of my service and asked if I would lose my number if the SIM card didn't arrive in time. I was told that the number and remaining units would transfer because the phone upgrade was required by TracFone and was not optional. When the SIM card finally arrived, I called TracFone again to transfer the units and phone number. However, this time the Rep Sherry informed me that I had lost my number because my service had expired. Also, because my number was not active, they would not transfer the minutes from the old phone to the new phone. When I complained about being penalized for a phone upgrade that was required by TracFone, I was told that it was not a required upgrade. I then said that, since it wasn't required, I would continue to use my old phone so that I wouldn't lose my minutes. I was then told that my old phone could not be reactivated due to incompatible technology. She thanked me for calling and hung up before I could continue the conversation. I called back and, after another 30 minutes on hold, was routed to another Customer Service Rep. As I explained the problem, I was given the same responses - almost word-for-word. So, needless to say, I have lost my number and almost 700 minutes.

I've lost $100 for the airtime and a bit of my sanity.

Well that didn't work so we bought another phone and called the 800 number to get the minutes from the old phone transferred to the new phone, and transfer the number. Well, the call went to someone in India or someplace. Right in the middle of the transaction his "Go Home" bell must have rang because he started acting like he couldn't hear me. I need to have Tracfone send a new SIM card, was advised that in order to have my minutes and number changed, I will have no cell service (not even to check messages from a landline) for 48 hours. That's IF the new SIM card works.

I had been a Tracfone customer for a number of years always buying the year of service plan as required. This last renewal period i purchased the year of service w/ double minutes for life. But I first spoke with a service representative to determine if the minutes, phone number, and service were transferable should I purchased a new phone. I was told yes they were.

Acting on the information I was given, I purchased a new phone over the internet, activated it on arrival, and the minutes were in fact transferred. The issue arose on the next minute purchase occasion - minutes were successfully purchased, however they were not doubled. On speaking to customer service, I was told that the double minutes for life plans do not transfer with the phone, nor would switching back to my previous phone restore that service.

What I find particularly irksome, is that I did not see this information posted on their website, nor was i told this by their representative.

Financially, this cost me at the very least $50 for the double minute plan, and cheated me out of 400 additional minutes, the equivalent of another $80.

Each time it took over one half hour on my landline with Tracfone technicians to resolve the problem. Neither of the collection of technicians could give me a satisfactory explanation of the problem but were profuse with apologies which , of course, are of little use when the phone fails to connect when you need it. It took them nearly a month to make the transfer but it was finally done and my phone was working fine until 7/20/07 when my phone displayed Unregistered SIM.

I phoned TracFone. I was disconnected after a 10 minute wait on a first call and had to wait another 15 minutes on a second call After 2 phone calls and nearly 90 minutes, here's what I learned.

    According to TracFone,

    1. my phone number - that I had last used 0n 7/19/07 - has been inactive in their records since 2006.

    2. my phone number is not available for transfer because it may have been given to someone else

    3. my minutes are available on a different phone number - a SIM card not on my phone

    4. there's nothing they can do

This has been my BUSINESS phone number on my current TracFone since May 2006. I added minutes to the phone in January, 2007 and currently have over 300 units - now unavailable - that don't expire until July 2008.

2nd: Half the problems you have, could be solved by just reading your instructions manual....once, two old people just cursed me for half an hour for being unable to make calls, and turns out that they were pressing the red key!.....plus, showing you how to set up the time and the date...or things like: sir turn your phone on, IT IS ON!, ok, what do u see on your screen?, charging battery..ok, press and hold the red key, tell me what happens...I hear music and the lights turned on!
    WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!

3rd: I have heard so many things regarding where I am located at..India, Pakistan, India, India. Or people being rule and impolite for being latin (yeah, I am from argentina people..so what...one time, a jackass said to me I WOULD NEVER VISIT BRAZIL OR ARGENTINA; THEY ARE SUCH VIOLENT COUNTIES...sir, whose country is under constant terrorists attack?......whose president is a NAZI?).because of speeling back incorrectly a name, or perhaps and address.......but, what should u tell someone when u say....SIR, NOW PRESS BACK OR CANCEL TO GO BACK TO THE MAIN SCREEN...I DON'T HAVE BACK...OK, WHAT DO U SEE?...EXIT..shocking!,

but, of course, just for not being Amercian, or have an accent..we are idiots, u r great...yeah, I have also being called to ask wheter it was true or not that phones could be turned off, people who have had their phones for years without knowing they could turn it off (remember, so many things could be solved by just reading...books won't bite, u know?)

4th: some of you, are great, some, just ARE, other are 100% pure*******, and other, awful human beings...
I am only 18, this is my first job, and I do it just to pay for college...and it really gets on my nerves that so far I have:
-been asked out 5times (get real, u just heard my name -which u neveeer understand!-)..one of those times a 55year-old man gave me his address in NJ to visit him...puaj!
-been invited to kiss white ***** approx. 50times (I am half Italian and half Ucranian, have green eyes, and brown hair...u can get whiter than me!)...
    -been called stupid, *******, blablabla
(of course, it is so easy to get even in life...especially with your info in the account!)

Hey JIM, you lost money, u are frustrated?
wanna know what it feels like to be one of those people that u have talked to?...u call, all angry as u are, scream, and insult us..WE ARE NOT FORM TRACFONE, WE WORK FOR CALL CENTERS!

wanna know, that if u are not plain said stupid, u can not say anything?...things like the precious gentleman said "i would never visit you country" are plain awful, and hurt us because, this is a shocker...LOVE OUR COUNTRIES!...so what should we do?, play dumb...that is it!

SO u call, all angry and scream, and insult once again, and u get me, and start to say "i want this done by now!, em, your company, does not even give us a way of calling them about your issues, not even asking for corporate office (that is a tip, a way to get an idiot that does the same, but back in the usa!)...

ABout your precious airtme....well, thing is, we have a way to see, who is cheating, and who is not....I remeber once, I had an old man, screamin for a whole hour, because he was unable to make and receive calls, and had lost 52minutes /at one unit per call...he had attempted to do 52 call before realizing he was no able to?..r u that stupid, or do u think I AM that stupid?/ anyway, thing is I finally gave him the minutes back, just because he wasn't going to hang-up if I did not do it...

well, guess what he said after the airtime showed up?...sir, let's work now your problem, let me see why u r having problem s making those calls.....NO MY DEAR, MY PRBLEM IS SOLVED, AND ENDS THE CALL!...yeah, anyway, I don't care, cause tracfone, does suck, but, too be that low...

Just to say some last words....and this one goes to the cust that signed (for English press 1 is not always true)........WE ARE PEOPLE, WE FELL, WE EXIST, AND GUESS WHAT *****?, IF U DON'T CARE WHAT I MAY BE FEELING WHEN U CALL ME AN IDIOT, SHOULD I CARE ABOUT U SPENDING 10FREAKING DOLLARS?---NO!---look, if your companies were more human, they wouldn't be hiring call centers in foreing countries to spend less money...

More lengthy calls where we tried to send the phone back and get our money refunded. They refused stating that after 5 days they don't refund. But the kicker was that it was only 4 days since the minutes were added. Then they put me on hold and left me there. After 20 minutes I called back and they were closed. We’re out $108.74.

I ask why I was not informed of this before I purchased all this air time and minutes. I was told that the person I was speaking to did not have that Information I was upset to say the least.

Since then I have spoken to 5 or 6 representatives, put hundreds of numbers in the phone, and still have no service. And each time I call them back to inform them that the phone still does work, I am requested to wait another 24 to 48 hours and try again. Remember, at the time, I had prepaid for 110 minutes of cell time with tracfone. Called cust. service on Monday, 3-20-06.

As of today, 3-24-06, cannot make calls nor receive. Problem not resolved, I lost minutes and two phone calls for work(independent contractor)I also called Verizon wireless, they claim their towers in my zip code(15417) are working fine. My last call to tracfone cust service resulted in a threat by me to file with FCC. Charge No. 1: breach of contract.

After 10 days I called and the person told me I had to wait 10 days, it had been 10 days, I could not get the person to look at a calendar to count the days.

I contacted them last week Friday, was told the contacted that department that does the cards and was told it would take another week to call back in a week. Well I called today and was told it would take 30 days to get this number assigned. What are we talking about 5 minutes of time to change the number? I called the department that I purchased the worthless phone from to have them send me a return slip as I am done waithing and listening to their stories. It took 3 to 4 attempts and my husband getting involved to finally get it activated and a phone number issued. (They refused to give me a refund because I had purchased it in November and the 30 days were up by Christmas time.) Guess what? The phone number they issued is also the cell number to another individual. His cell and my mother's cell ring at the same time!

I once again called Tracfone and was issued another phone number and 24 hours later it isn't working either! When you dial the new number it goes directly to a voice mail and says the number isn't a working number! I am sick of dealing with them. Every time you call you reach a tech. support person employed in another country with a heavy accent who does not seem to know their right hand from their left! Called the 800 number and they actually got it working that night, then next day phone display read "Searching,...please wait" It still reads that and none of the function/menu buttons on the phone have any affect. Cannot call out or receive calls...no way to program phone as buttons don't work.

Another 20 min. call to a foreign country and was told "we'll fix in 3-4 Hrs" Now 9 Hrs. later, no change. Called Motorola, they say bad Sim card from Tracfone. Again, the automated attendant informed me that the purchase had been aborted, but I discovered that, indeed, 60 units of airtime were now showing up on the cell phone unit. However, I was concerned that I would be charged twice for the same purchase. The next day, I called TracFone to determine if I'd been charged twice, and was told that yes I had been.

They offered to add the additional units, but since my original intent was to only purchase 60 units, I declined, and asked for a refund. The rep said that I'd have to call back and ask for the "refund department" which was closed at that time. The next day I called asking for the refund department. The rep (who sounded like the original rep) asked for the ESN, and said that he'd help me himself. After 50 minutes of being put on and off hold--and told that I'd be transferred to the refund department in "2 minutes", he hung up on me. While I realize there is no warranty for accidents of your own doing, I did not expect them to replace my phone itself. However, their website clearly states that minutes can be transferred to another unit if you buy a new phone. When I called Tracfone customer service after purchasing an identical unit to the one I had, they informed me that minutes cannot be transferred from a broken unit.

They offered a 30 days wait for a replacement and update my units, ONLY in fact if the unit was broken due to manufacturer defect. I had informed them from the beginning that the breakage was physical and my fault. Their website does not provide information that broken phones cannot replaced with another unit by the consumer. In addition, their website also does not show how one could retrieve their voice messages from a standard landline phone or another cell phone. I had approximately 175 minutes remaining on my phone, and a brand new phone that was entirely useless to me as I refuse to deal with a company that, in effect, has stolen my money.

They did not offer a refund for the unit I could not use and in addition it was purchased from Sam's Club who would not accept it back in "used" condition, i.e. the packaging had been opened.

She then looked told me that the reason I was having a problem in the 1st place was because I had changed my phone 3 times. Up to this point I had been very nice but now I began to get ugly. I explaimed to her that I didn't change the phone numbers, they did. I also explained this was not the problem. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor told me the same thing. She said that I can't expect the problem to be fixed within 10 minutes, again ignoring the previous 24 hrs. She also said that I caused the problem by changing the phone number. She said the problem would be fixed within 24 hrs. I told her that when my 3 months were up I was throwing all 4 phones in the trash. On 12/26/04 my family and I traveled to the adjacent county. My daughter's phone went off roam when we crossed the county line. The only problem is my 2 sons' phones went on roam. When we returned home they reversed again to the way they were. My daughter's phone is back to roam. My wife tried to call Tracfone all day on Monday 12/27 and Tuesday 12/28. She kept getting a recording stating due to unusually high call volume we are unable to take your call. As of now she still hasn't been able to reach them concerning the original problem and my daughter's phone is still on roam.

My purse was stolen from my car w/my trac phone. I immediately called tracfone people to turn it off. The lady told me she turned it off. Then I asked about my remaining 97 min. She said, too bad -- you lose. Anyway, 9 hours later after my purse and phone were stolen my phone has not been turned off by the trac phone ppl. and the people who stole it are answering my phone.

My phone was stolen. I reported it to Tracfone who deactivated it. They told me that they could save the minutes on the phone and I could transfer them to a new phone but that I would have to wait a few weeks. I called back in a few weeks and they told me that they could do no such thing. They didn't even offer me an hour or anything to keep a customer. They lied to me. I would never buy from a company that lies again.

Damage Resulting: 274 airtime minutes that I paid for are now lost.

I received an email to buy air time it said "click here to buy now" which I did and was transported to a redeem airtime page. There were two flashing arrows pointing to 2 different airtime units so I assumed this is what I had to choose from so I did. And after I entered all of my information into my phone I was shocked to find that unlike what the email said - I DID NOT DOUBLE MY AIRTIME MINUTES!
So I called customer service and was told that what the email meant is that I had to join a "PREPAID PLAN" FOR $14.95 PER MONTH AND THEN BUY AIRTIME CARDS TO DOUBLE MY AIRTIME. HOWEVER, NOWHERE IN THE EMAIL OR THE REDEEM AIRMAIL PAGE THAT I WAS DIRECTED TO STATE THIS. I believe that I was intentionally MISLED.
Damage Resulting: I purchased additional airtime that I really didn't need (my due date to purchase airtime was October 16, 2003) and I had plenty of airtime to last me until then. I just really feel that I have been purposely misled. I would like my $100.69 back and I never want to receive another email from this company.

As soon as my airtime minutes are used up I plan on tossing their cell phone in the trash.

I purchased and activated a Tracfone 27 Mar 03. I then redeemed a 1-year 150-min airtime card and keyed in the promotional code 52312 on the web site and the screen came back and said to redo, so I submitted it again. It went through the second time but did not give me a promotional code credit. I called Tracfone and was told to purchase a 30-min card and try it and call back if I had any problems. The 30-min card gave me 30 min and not double minutes (60).
I called Tracfone and they gave me codes to enter to get the additional promotional 30 min which I did and they said they would take care of the problem with the promotional code as I told them I was going to buy the 300-Min card soon. They told me to wait a week to correct the promotional code problem and then purchase 300-Min card. I redeemed the 300 Min card on 27 Apr 03 and it gave me only the 300 min and not the 600 min like it was should have. They did not correct the promotional code problem like they said they would. I called Tracfone 27 Apr 03 and they said I needed to send this to you by email to get the additional 300-min credit.
As of 6 May 03, I have not received any reply to my problem. 6 May 03 I called Tracfone and a supervisor named Baze advised me I could not talk to anyone about my problem and that the only way to correct the problem was through email, no one else could help me at all. This has been 9 days and I am still waiting.

I also have a second problem now. I also Referred A Friend for the 60-min promotion on 27 Apr 03 for each of us through email and neither of us has received any email for him to get a phone. He got the phone and still has not received the email for him to go buy a phone from my referral.

I bought a Digital Tracfone specifically for its FREE features that it advertises only to find out many many phone calls later that those features were not available. I wasted a lot of my time and my minutes on my Tracfone that I paid for to find this out. I am very mad. This is false advertisement. It was not stated on the box or in the manual that the FREE features may not be available. If that is the case, this should be advertised as well. Now, I am stuck with a phone which was more expensive that doesn't come with the features I bought it for.

I bought a Tracfone that had a rebate offer of $30.00 or so many minutes of wireless service free. I sent the completed form in the mail on 8/8/02. I elected for the minutes. It was returned to me stating that they needed more info. They never said exactly what they were needing only that it could have been certain things. I returned it to them again only guessing that what they needed was the serial number. They returned it to me again saying that they needed more information. I again guessed what they were needing because they were not specific. When I sent this back the second time I left my home phone number for them to contact me if I was not sending what they were needing. That is where things stand.

I have yet to receive my rebate offer. I would call but there was no phone number to call on the rebate for questions and they did not call me when I left my number. I left the number so we could get this resolved. I bought the Tracfone on good faith of this wonderful rebate offer. It has now been 6 months with no rebate.

In December 2000 Tracfon offered me a 100-minute card for 100 free minutes on my Tracfone if I recommended a new customer to buy a Tracfon and stay in good standing for three months. I did this and after the waiting period I began asking for my 100-minute card. It is now seven months and all I get is a form to fill out. I have filled out ten forms and sent over twenty e-mails but this Natasha Harvey always sends me another form. This to me is false advertising and should be addressed.

In spite of Natasha Harvey's actions to block my getting the card, Tacfones rebate dept. says I am entitled to it but obviously Natasha Harvey for some unknown reason continues to cause me emotional distress by taunting me weekly with her ridiculous requests.
My complaint is her refusal to O.K. a rebate card for 100 minutes for referring a new customer, in spite of Tracfones rebate dept, which has said via e-mail that I am entitled. She just keeps sending me the same form over and over again for three months.

I cannot describe the mental anguish she has put me through sending e-mails (app. twenty) phone calls every week and all she does is put me on hold, and leave me there. All I am asking for is what they promised in their ad campaign.
