This is an easy process to complete. The company has a great website and phone menu. I had to actually talk to a person and that was professional also. The phone arrived as promised in a day. It was great! I recommend to insure your phones if you have teens.

LG Phone - Initially there was an issue with phone replacement, but was eventually taken care of. Customer service representative was professional and courteous. Received the replacement phone on the time predicted, and returned the damaged phone in the return envelope provided. Only complaint is that it wasn't explained that my son had 30 days to pay/file a claim for the damaged phone, which caused a denial of the first claim we filed.

Service was pretty easy and over all experience was good. Once I paid the co pay it was a matter of days but there were no like phones available or comparable either. So we received the replacement within 14 days. New phone came with more accessories than the original. Dropped the old phone in the post and all was done. Most everything was handled online, little if any human interaction.

My screen was cracked. I contacted Asurion and explained the problem. For a small fee I was offered a replacement. I set up the new phone with a new sim card. The new phone is not working at 100%... Can it be replaced? Sometimes when I am touching the screen nothing happens, like the phone is frozen. When I am responding to texts or trying to answer the phone, as if I still have the broken phone but a different color.

My daughter was struggling to get her phone to connect to the network reliably. She had been in to the Verizon store but they were unable to help as they said it was an issue with the phone itself. 1st replacement for my stolen Galaxy S6 arrived overnight with a defective camera (all replacements are refurbished phones). Upon notification of issue, Asurion stated that no replacements were available for at least a week. Approximately 7 days later I was told that a phone was available and would be sent overnight express to my home. 5 (FIVE, cinco, V!) days later it arrived at my home with a scratched glass (refurbished, remember?!). Despite the slow shipping, Asurion started contacting me 3 days after shipping asking if I had sent my 1st phone back yet. No one contacted me to tell me why my phone was slow in delivery.
This is the service and quality I got after years of paying for insurance on three phones, paying a $130 deductible, and making my 1st claim ever! Could have bought one new with all that has been paid. You would probably be better off waiving the insurance and buying a well cared for used phone online from a big name site that offers free two day shipping and money back guarantees if you need a replacement phone. Shame on you Asurion.

Lost my iPhone 6. Called Asurion to replace it. Took me about 2 hrs of calling different numbers due to my call always being disconnected by them. Then once I finally ordered my phone and paying $175 SMH for a replacement realized it was a refurbished one that started giving me problems the very first day. The phone was extremely hot the first day, had issues with me logging on to my iCloud then it keep freezing on me. Not only that the phone continued to get extremely hot with no reception. I called to complain. They told me I'll be getting a new one sent out to me at my T-Mobile store.
Once I walked in my phone was extremely hot. I set it down on the table and the screen cracked. Even though it was in front of the customer service agent I was told by her that now Asurion won't be exchanging my phone due to the crack. I then replied "well it's cracked because they sent me a phone that wasn't even working in the first place." So now they want me to pay $175 again so I can get a phone replaced when I just paid for the same service 3 days prior and they sent out a refurbished phone with problems!!! WTF!!!! So frustrated.

Since May 2016, I opened a claimed because my all in one stopped working and 'till today the issue hasn't been resolved. I have sent it back four times and they have sent it back to me and done nothing to it. Oh yes they broke the front door to it. This is wrong. I keep telling them why do they think people pay for warranties. This is so stressful and wrong for a company to do this. I just want it resolved finally. I have other warranties for other product and is scary because of this experience. I had filed for DVD and was solved. I don't know if because it was something small. They just sent a e-card to buy another but this time I am getting the runaround.
I called today because I need them to solve it and fix it or do something and they told me I will get a callback within 24 hours. Didn't left another message. Finally someone got back to me and now they're telling me that my warranty has expired and I told "yes I know this." But they never fixed the issue and they're telling "well our warranty only covers certain things. Not so if it has to do with applications. It's not on us." And I'm like "look the computer isn't working. It has been sent out five times and know you want to make new excuses to not fix or replace it which is what the warranty is for after so many months is wrong. I am just getting the runaround."
And she said "oh we are simply being nice by receiving it when your warranty has expired." And I am like "yes but you never fixed it in the first place so that's why I paid for it." I am very upset by this. Yes they are sending me a new label to send it back but I am sure the same thing will happen which is nothing. They won't fix it and send it back. Also she told me "oh we are going to do a complete inspection of it to see if it's something that the warranty should of covered or not." Really you have done this already and now making excuses to not do anything after so many months. Worst experience ever.

So I been paying the monthly fee to WIND and then my phone gets wet. It is a SONY Experia AQUA 4 and it gets a small splash and then it does not work again. I call Asurion and they apologize and offer to send me a new phone. (ASURION NEVER SENDS NEW PHONES. THEY ARE like NEW so REFURBISHED.) I ask the lady if I need to send my phone that got wet and she told me NO. So I toss it because it's been over a week and it's been in rice and it still not working. So two days go by and I call ASURION to ask about the phone they are sending and apparently they did not put the request in. So I asked them to make sure it goes through. So four days pass and I get my phone and there is an envelope in it and I am curious so I call to ask if is in case I do not like the phone or if it breaks. The customer service tells me, "No you must send the damaged phone".
I told him I did not have it and that "I tossed it because I was told you did not need it." Then the service rep tells me that I will need to pay out $150 on top of the 100 for the USED phone. I then go and get a next phone and today when I called Asurion they tell me I am not getting any money back and I owe the $150. I told them I am sending back the phone and they said "you will not be getting any money back" and I told them they are not getting any more of my money. I have screenshots of the calls that I made to the company on both phones and the length of the conversation. I told them on numerous occasions listen to the conversation of the previous call or look at the notes. They only have 3 calls noted and I called like 7 times. None of the calls are recorded so do not listen to that cause if they were recorded they could check the calls and get back to a customer in 48 hours just like any other company. WORST COMPANY EVER.

Asurion is at best complicit in fraud and at worst perpetrates fraud directly. Yesterday we suddenly discovered a $199 charge on our credit card from Asurion, a company we had no prior contact with. We did not consent to any transaction with them, let alone had ever heard of them. Apparently Asurion (or someone unbeknownst to us) set up an account using our credit card information with an outdated mailing address.
Asurion's customer service has been abysmal. The person we spoke with last night rambled and slurred as if they were drunk, requiring considerable effort to clarify our situation and understand his responses. He claimed an inability to do anything to help until the business office opened the following morning and provided an unnecessarily complicated process to contact them when they did.
Upon getting through to them today they refused to be able to do anything about our situation without providing our credit card information. I don't care how "reputable" a company may be by its online presence, if I've never heard of it and it's suddenly charging my credit card without my consent then I'm not about to confirm my private information or volunteer more. Our only recourse has been to dispute this fraudulent charge with our bank, triggering new credit cards issued. Asurion is a very untrustworthy company.

I think I need to switch to a new phone brand that has a better insurance program.

I cracked my screen so I called Verizon to get the insurance companies number, they provided me with it and it took 6 different times to get through their automated system. It couldn't recognize my number so instead of transferring me to a live person, it made me hang up and keep calling. I finally got my mom's number to work and spoke to a man that DIDN'T KNOW THEY HAD A PROGRAM TO FIX SCREENS... what kind of employee is that? After 15 minutes of talking to this person I called Verizon who said they also had no idea this company did that when my brother had a service tech come to the house a month ago to have this done. Verizon connects me with a woman that says "Not a problem. Let me help you." No phone time is an hour with these people.
The woman states it will be $99 to have the screen fixed, told me the tech will be at my house between 5 & 7 and to wait for a confirmation email or the tech will not be able to fix the phone. No email. So I call back this morning talk to 2 more people at this wonderful company who have no notes from anything prior and they tell me the time slot I chose does not work anymore. I asked for a refund they said no because it wasn't charged to my card. Well- it was so I spoke to management who by credit card number could pull up. The tech was supposed to be at my house at the time promised yesterday. I asked for her to resend the number that the technician needs to fix my phone and she said their system isn't able to do that. What a joke of a company. Absolutely dropping this and going with AppleCare. Would NEVER recommend this company.

I have had Asurion as a part of my AT&T plan for as long as I have had AT&T - 10? 11? 12 years? I have had up to five lines on the account and have had to use this insurance policy multiple times. Honestly, it has to be over a dozen claims. I have always been satisfied with their service and professionalism. I recall once, I was vacationing in a different state when my phone broke. Asurion, by policy, claimed they needed to send the new device to the address on the account. A manager at an AT&T store in that area helped intervene with verifying my identity and Asurion felt comfortable processing my claim and mailed my replacement device to my hotel. That was the Asurion I loved.
The year I upgraded to the Apple iPhone 5c, AT&T promoted their multiple device insurance, which would cover all four phones and laptops! I was overwhelmed by the unexpected added value and immediate savings. As a matter of a fact, I had just filed a claim in Sept. for my dad's phone, because no one was able to hear him. His phone was less than a year old. He went from an LG 4 to the Galaxy S7 Active as the replacement offered. I was totally impressed. Yesterday, I activated a new line on my AT&T account with an old phone. My salesperson told me the new service was still covered under my current insurance plan. Whoa! Really? You don't beat that kind of customer service and satisfaction. I was over the moon!
Then, my balloon was popped. While my son was researching a company more thoroughly for his second interview, he asked if he could use my laptop. His simple little Samsung Chrome Book (which his grandparents bought for him four years ago) was not staying connected to the internet. And then the mousepad on the keyboard was not recognizing touch. His laptop is flawless. No scratches nor dents. No stickers. I was against him having a laptop and when he was presented with this as a present, I warned him I would not replace it. However, for an 18 year old to have taken such good care of it all this time... So I suggested he call Asurion about placing a claim. Fifteen minutes later he informs me he needs to go online to place the claim, take pictures of the serial number, provide a copy of the store receipt of proof of purchase, and wait for their response. I'm like WHAT??
So I call 611. The first person I spoke with, Elizabeth, possibly an AT&T tech, said that was absurd (Yeah, my thought too! ), gave me a claim number, and said a pre-paid return label was being sent out to me and after they receive the laptop, it would take 3-5 business days to diagnose and provide my options. But then I was transferred to Jade, at Asurion, who wanted for us to go online, print and sign an affidavit form include a current copy of a recent bill with proof of the insurance, serial number of the laptop and to take pictures of the product. So I asked, "If I was an 82 year old woman on my granddaughter's plan, living in an assisted living home in another area, who uses a netbook to keep up with pictures on Facebook, would I still be expected to comply with this?"
Because not all devices are printer compatible or easily accessible. AT&T personal accounts can increase up to 10 or more users or numbers - so not all users would necessarily be privy to bill or bill information (accounts can have password protection for access to changes). Uploading pics to a website... Senior citizens have special phones; many are for emergency use or basic non-camera. Some people are just not tech savvy. This process discriminates on sooo many levels. Jade didn't understand so she transferred me to Maria, her supervisor. The only thing Maria could parrot was it was to prevent fraud.
Now I don't understand. "You're processing my claim, because you obviously see I am covered." I can understand an courtesy "take pictures of the serial number and equipment for your records - in case we send the wrong product back to you after if we fix it." How many people get paper bills? Oh yeah, the printer. *eyeroll*
So Maria offers a one time courtesy by-pass. Smh. You are not getting my service nor money for a laptop. For a simple little Samsung Chrome Book that is $180 brand new at my local Best Buy or $99 for Hot Spot to diagnose for same day service? This is a no brainer. Clearly, Asurion's policies infringe on the ADA and certainly takes advantage of people. This is not how an insurance policy works. I've been involved in car accidents that paperwork and processing was less painless than a root canal. And not nearly as mind boggling as all this! AT&T - you need to find a better insurance company. Asurion stenches of Donald Tumptards and deplorables who probably didn't even get a GED and certainly has no understanding of the script they are reading in front of them.

I kept the phone even though it was messing up. Not as bad as my Note but still bad considering I just got the device. I sent it in to AT&T's warranty department. They gave me a bill of 600 because they said the device is missing its liquid damage indicator, which I recently learned is where the sim card tray is. I complained to AT&T that I did not remove it and since the phone has no liquid damage they should not be charging me. The said since it's missing The indicator, it's been tampered with. They said I'd have to talk to Asurion to remove the charges. I talked to Asurion and they said not their problem talk to AT&T. Luckily, I have an old iPhone that I can use as an iPod (it's from a different phone company than mine), but I am not able to have a phone that calls. I pay insurance every month. This is ridiculous. Furthermore, I will have to pay the entire $200 deductible even though the service from them is unacceptable. When phones are on backorder, the least Asurion could do is adjust the deductible or reimburse the insurance that I have paid apparently for NOTHING! Why do they offer a service when they cannot follow through with it!? I am disgusted.

Asurion sent a replacement immediately, which cost $225, and they dropped our insurance because it was the second claim within 12 months. About 2 weeks later the original phone was found and returned to us. I never expected to see the phone again so did not keep the box and return label from Asurion. I called Asurion right away. I was told they would send me a new return label, would refund my money when the replacement was received and would reinstate my insurance. They only thing they did was reinstate my insurance. They never send the return label.
When I called to let them know I had not received the return label, I was told I would not get a refund because I didn't return the phone within 7 days!!! The customer service person was actually doing all she could to help - she talked to her supervisor who would not agree to a refund, and then contacted corporate for me. I was on hold for the next 45 minutes, the customer service person updated me every 2-3 minutes that they were still waiting for corporate to answer and at that point offered me a callback. I called Asurion to explain that my son had decided not to use the replacement phone that he was sent. He decided to pay and have the screen repaired instead. I returned the phone within a couple of weeks but never received the refund. My son had decided this before even turning on the phone. The phone was never used and placed the phone back into the box. When I called Asurion, there are no prompts for you to get customer service except to file a claim, so I used the prompts to just get a person on the phone.
After being hung up on several times without a person answering, I finally got through to someone who agreed eventually to process the refund for me, however was told that I did not return the phone within the 30 day window. I am not sure what happened in this instance, but I returned the phone within a couple of weeks but was told I was too late. After persisting, they agreed to process the refund but the refund was never processed, even months later. I called back again today and it was a struggle to get someone on the phone again. I was put on hold eight times and then was finally told that they will process the return and it will take 1-2 business cycles... same as the first time I spoke to them. I have no faith that this refund will be processed but will update later. I am assuming that I will have to call again so I am putting on my calendar to call Asurion again by year end.

A few months ago I cracked the screen on my Galaxy S4 – I have had this phone for a while and many generations have come since this one. I have paid for insurance on my phone for years and maybe used it twice each time paying a deductible so I am not sure what the monthly fee was for... I received the "reconditioned" phone on 10/13. While the phone looked like all was well it came with someone else contacts on the phone. (Flag 1) I contacted Sprint and they walked me thru resetting the phone to factory settings and then told me to go online and activate it. (Flag 2) I went online but I kept getting an error. I called Sprint back and they had to manually activate the phone. (Flag 3) I began using the phone but was having a hard time with the WIFI and other phone functions.
Yesterday I called Sprint back, spent an hour and 1/2 on the phone when they told me “It looks like this phone was sent back to us for WIFI problems, and based on what you are telling us it looks like it was never reconditioned, just cleaned up, boxed up and sent out to you.” I was then told that since "Asurion" is the company that manages their insurance claims I was told I had to go thru them since they sent out the replacement phone. I did have a long conversation with them yesterday one that left me with more questions...
I will be calling them back today and I will have it air over Facebook Live... I want a record and witnesses to what I am experiencing. "But you can't record the..." well here is the thing... Whenever you call a call center you hear some recording that states "this call may be monitored for quality assurance." This means this agent knows they may be recorded. In many cases they even sign something to that effect… I feel justified and covered since they know they may be recorded they should behave...

Let me start first by saying that I was so scared about how my experience might go with Asurion because I read all of the reviews and it seems that people have had almost nothing but horrible experiences. I was blown out of the water and the service I got was nothing what I expected. I have had to file two claims with Asurion. The first was for a Galaxy S3 that I had to replace through warranty back in 2013. That in itself was a completely smooth process, I didn't even give it a second thought. I received a refurbished device, exactly the same model and color as my previous one and it worked great and there's nothing more to really say.
My second claim was filed on October 3, 2016. Two days prior to filing, I had dropped my Note 4 and completely shattered the screen. I worked through my options before coming to the conclusion that filing a claim with my mobile insurance would be the best one. Like I said, I filed the claim on October 3rd around 9 AM. The claim was approved instantly and my Note 4 would be replaced by a black Galaxy S7 and I only had to pay 50% of the deductible ($112) since I hadn't had a claim in the preceding 12 months (I have had the Note 4 for almost exactly 2 years). My new device went out via FedEx Overnight around noon. I received my device at about 3 PM the following day.
I opened the package and noticed it was a refurbished S7, but you would hardly be able to notice because it was gorgeous. It included a new pair of headphones and a new charger. My only issue was that my SIM card from my Note 4 was too big to fit, but I simply went to an AT&T store and they gave me a new one for free, which took less than 5 minutes. I have had the new phone for 9 days and I absolutely love it. It is a huge step up from my Note 4 (even though the screen is smaller) and it cost less to have the device replaced than getting the screen on my Note 4 replaced.
I have been stressed about how I am going to get my photos and misc data off of the Note 4 before the 10 days is up, which the 10 days is up tomorrow. I have tried many options to no avail. There is one way in particular that I can accomplish this, but I have to order special equipment online, which would take longer than the time I have remaining to get the device back to Asurion. I called customer service and the representative was awesome. He immediately suggested an extension. I asked, "what do I do if I still can't erase the device by the end of the extension?" He said that I can call and they will just give me another extension. I had no idea this was an option and I can't believe that my experience has been so awesome with Asurion. The phone call actually inspired me to write this review.
(Another slightly unrelated perk: Samsung was running a promotion for a free Gear VR or 256GB SD card with Galaxy S7 purchase. I filed a claim with them and they accepted my Asurion claim as a purchase and I am receiving a free Gear VR from Samsung!!!) My suggestion to others that are reading this review: don't be turned away by all the bad reviews! My experience was extremely pleasant and I look forward to working with them again if I ever experience any issues with my device.

August 30th: Touchscreen on 1st replacement phone stopped working which made it useless. We had to find an alternative way to delete information on old phone since it didn't work before returning it (or they charge you $300 to delete your information). New phone (so they said) was received September 1st.
October 5th: Touchscreen stopped working on 2nd replacement phone which made it useless (2nd replacement). Called for 3rd replacement phone and received it next day but it was the wrong phone! We owned a 6Plus and they sent us a 6S. Called them back to get correct phone and they said they could not send the correct one until we sent one back. Completely their fault since they have our phone device information in the account. The manager would not admit they made a mistake and said she didn't know how the conversation went (like I asked for a difference device over the phone). Now we have to switch to incorrect (6s) phone and remove data from non-working (2nd replacement) phone, then return the 2nd replacement.
Once we receive the 4th replacement phone (correct 6Plus), we will have to switch all data to new replacement phone and go through this process all over again!!! What happened to customer service where if they make a mistake they own up to it and make it right so the customer is happy. We pay a monthly charge so that we always have a working phone and now we have had to go through this so many times now!

I went to my local Verizon store, and a very nice gentleman tried to assist me to get a replacement. He spent about an hour and a half on the phone, and online, with Asurion. In the end they refused to do anything because they stated it is out of warranty. Why have I been paying for insurance all this time then??? One Asurion rep was so rude she actually hung up the phone on the Verizon rep. I am still stunned by the complete disrespect shown by Asurion.
If you're carrying Asurion insurance, check to find out what it does, and doesn't cover... and then hope they'll bother to even cover what they claim they will. Especially if you live in Florida... as it now states it doesn't offer extended warranty in Florida. I immediately canceled the insurance. Asurion insurance is likely not worth the investment. You pay for the insurance, pay the deductible and in exchange for your new phone, they could send you a refurbished one. I had a new Apple iPhone 5 that experienced some water damage. Asurion could not repair the phone. It had to be replaced. In exchange for a new phone, they sent me a refurbished unit. The insurance carries a $149.00 deductible and costs $84 per year. Do the math. If you are paying $84 per year and you never file a claim, how much has the insurance cost you. In 5 years time, you will have invested $420. If you eventually need to file a claim, and the phone needs to be replaced, you will be charged a deductible (mine was $149) and the replacement unit could be refurbished. Maybe paying for repairs when they are needed makes more sense.

Since our old phone was working perfectly, we returned the replacement phone the same day we received it.
When the bill came out, in April, we noticed we had been charged a deductible of $149 for the new phone that we had already returned. Sparing the details... it is now Sept 30th and I continue to go thru a monthly ritual or calling AT&T to inquire as to why my credit has not posted yet. AT&T says they don't know and that I should call Asurion. I then call Asurion to make the same inquiry to which they assure me that that credit will definitely post within the next 30-60 days. We; after a week of having it, I dropped it and cracked the screen, so I called the product care plan customer service number and talked to a lady and told her my problem, she ASKED ME WHAT KIND OF DEVICE I HAD... which was a VISUAL LAND 10" 10SE ANDROID TABLET... She filed my claim and told me they would get it taken care of and send me another tablet.
The tablet came in the mail today, and it was a raggedy "USED! ($25) NextBook Ares 8" tablet) A $70.00 DIFFERENCE! So I called them, and the idiot I talked to said that "they don't carry Serbian tablets that are purchased in certain stores"... NO ONE, not one single "customer service" representative told me they would NOT have MY tablet. And of course, it never crossed MY mind, because hey, they're the "WARRANTY" people. SURELY they have the damn tablet they are "protecting" to send back to me if I file a claim and send them my tablet. If I send you my tablet, I expect a new one exactly like it, or mine FIXED. That is what a warranty is supposed to do.
After my 4 emails, I still haven't heard anything from these people. Not an email, call, nothing. I went back to the website, (ReplacementChoice.Asurion.com) selected "support" and I was given 5 options to select describing my problem. I selected "I am not satisfied with my claim replacement" and guess what happened?
I got a pop up that told me my tablet was shipped so they were "no longer obligated" to me. SERIOUSLY?? NEVER BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE! And if you do, you better hope you don't crack the screen and file a claim, because you'll never see the type of tablet you originally bought. In my email, I asked them to get in touch with me so I can send them their crappy tablet back so I can get my money back to go to the store and buy my damn tablet AGAIN. I'm still waiting to hear back from these misleading liars. If you buy a warranty, it should come with an EXPLANATION as to what will happen once something happens to your product. But no... you get fooled into buying the warranty so you can screw up, send them your $100 product and they can send you a P.O.S. $25, used tablet that is 2" smaller than what you bought.
I'll never give these people my money again, and my advice to you is, you shouldn't either. I WANT MY MONEY BACK and I will select the "I want an attorney to contact me about my complaint" box if I do not hear back from them and be allowed to return the nextbook ares 8" and get my money back.??

I understand that even though a refund might be made before that time, I'd need to wait for my bill for the refund to show up.
Today is Sept 27th, 2016. Over 90 days. I called AGAIN to ask (demand) the refund. They gave me the runaround regarding procedure, telling me that they had to submit the request to a third party via email. They could do nothing else to help me. In this age of technology, a few keyboard clicks should be all it takes to process a refund unless they are actually using a stagecoach and horses. The good news is that I persisted by calling AT&T, I did have to get past the CSA to a supervisor which took some insistence but he was able to resolve this issue for me. I've always had a good experience with AT&T but Asurion is an inferior company and I'm disappointed in AT&T for associating with them. I'm cancelling my insurance today.

I took the replacement phone that I received from Asurion Cell Phone Ins. that is with ATT to transfer information to my new phone. I went to the Apple Store to have it done. The Apple tech was quite surprised of the "new phone" I received. He told me to get another phone. The phone had problems: 1. The auxiliary jack was bent. 2. The device enclosure is slightly bent. 3. The display case was separating. What kind of crap is this? I also understand Asurion Phone Ins. can send a new phone of course, at their discretion. Who are they? Jury and Judge to what will happen? They sent me a BROKEN REPLACEMENT PHONE! A Genius Bar Apple Tech who helped me told me. When this kind of idiocy is happening? To show off a good phone you should always be assured "YOU ARE IN GOOD HANDS!"

I am doing this review because I'm not satisfied with what's going on. I have only been with AT&T as a phone carrier since about 1993. I have had a great experience with them. My issue is with Asurion insurance. I truly believe that I'm being sent phones with defects. I purchased a LG Optimus Pro G phone through AT&T in Feb. of 2014 and entered under a 2 year contract. My original contract expired years ago but I still stayed with AT&T. However, since I was doing an upgrade after having my phone for years I did enter a contract that got me the LG at a cheaper price. This phone had to be replaced through Asurion around May the same year because of manufacturing defect. It was searching for a lost phone that was not lost causing outrageous charges on my phone bill.
I was told that it would have to be replaced with the Samsung Galaxy S6... which is smaller. I got it same month claim entered. This year in Feb. the phone almost caught on fire. I called and explained to the agent that took the call that I smelled smoke in my bedroom and that I searched my wall outlets to see where it was coming from. I found the source once I picked up the Samsung Galaxy S6. It was smoking from the inside out. The rep took my statement. Not once did I tell him that it was dropped. However, on September 17, the Samsung Galaxy replacement phone not even a year old is no longer taking a charge. The port is too loose and it has some kind of surge that appears on the screen when you plug in the charger.
I call Asurion and explain this only to be told that I have two claims filed in one calendar year so I will have to pay $168.00 for replacement of phone and my insurance will be dropped for at least a year or can get back sooner if I upgrade to new phone. I told them that I don't feel that I should be penalized for defected phones. That my phones aren't even lasting the length of a two year contract. What is very disturbing is I called today Sept. 26 to try and fight the termination of my insurance because the phone in Feb. was sent back not due to falling, water or crack screen but smoking from inside out. One rep talked to her supervisor and informed me that I was right that I will be reimbursed for the Feb. 5, 2016 claim and insurance reinstated. She was hanging on phone to tell the other party herself what was going on but we got disconnected. She had my info. Never called back.
I talked to about 5 people trying to complete the process. They claim that she never entered the info. One rep even told me that I had 60 days to call about the replacement. I told her it not the replacement it's the wrong labeling of the return phone in Feb. 2016. That because that replacement is having issues like 7 months later is how I'm learning about the wrong code associated to the Feb. phone that almost caught fire. I told her that I was told it would be corrected only for her to say too much time had passed. We got disconnected. I bet she hung up.
The next person told me that the person that took my claim in Feb put down that my phone wad dropped and now smoking from the fall. I'm 56 years old and this literally made me cry. I asked her "Don't you record calls. This needs to be looked into because the consumer has no control of what a representative is documenting and your recorded call line should be able to prove that he lied." She said can't go back that far and I asked "What's the use in recordings if you can't go back to them to protect the consumer?" I told her how many more people have this individual falsified claims on?
I told them the many that I had to talk to that my phones should not be lasting 6 to 7 months. That even the one on September 17 is only a little over 7 months and won't take a charge plus has this surge that appears on screen when charger is plugged in. I even told them that the replacement for the Samsung Galaxy S6 with loose port issues... also has this surge once you plug in the charger. It's a Samsung Galaxy S7. I just got it on the 20 of September 2016. They explained that the surge that I see on my screen each time I plug in charger is showing that it is working. Told her that I've had cell phones and never seen such.
I even told her that the Samsung Galaxy S6 with the loose port I've had for 7 months and no surge on my screen when I plug it in until September 27 when the port wouldn't take a charge from charger. That's when the surges started on that one. I don't believe my phone should have this white and blue rainbow surge appear every time I plug in my charger. I believe it's something wrong with this replacement too that I just received on September 20, 2016.
They telling me that I filed two claims in one calendar year and I'm telling them that I believe I'm being sent phones with defects. They should have a way of looking into recorded calls on their end and finding out if their reps are making false claims of what the consumer tells them. I'm totally not happy to learn on today Sept. 26 that the rep that I talked to in Feb. 2016 lied and said that my smoking phone was dropped when it wasn't... Something is wrong when you have these many complaints.

Submitted a claim with Asurion regarding a replacement phone due to a cracked screen. The process was very simple on the website and the customer service reps were very nice, efficient and prompt. After the claim was approved I sent the deductible of $200.00. Received a e-mail, the replacement phone will be sent the next business day and it was. What a great company and service I thought.
However, when I attempted to activate the new phone was told the phone issued has been "black listed" meaning stolen. I called Asurion, the customer service rep apologized and transferred to a service tech. Was then informed the phone will be released from the list and able to activate within 24 to 48 hours. It has been a week and the phone is still unable to activate being it is sill on the list as stolen equipment.
I am not against accepting a refurbished phone, but not a phone where the FCC# is listed as stolen for more reasons than just security. However, security is a major concern beyond basic moral reasons. Im confused how a "insurance" company can pass off stolen equipment for payment. I learned today from my service provider, I am not the only customer who has been issued a phone from Asurion which was "Black Listed".
I have no idea what to do at this point but to return the stolen phone and request a refund. How can this even be legal? I have never utilized this "insurance" program before and never will again. Public, please be aware before transferring your personal data to one of these "Refurbished replacement phones". Well, actually you may never even be able to activate it. Therefore, save your deductible. I do not recommend this service.

Today I'm here to express my disappointment for Asurion Insurance company. Through phone companies they have an insurance plan. Sprint is the company I am currently subscribed to and the coverage was $13 per billing cycle. June 6, 2016 (23 months into my 24 month agreement) dropped and cracked my screen. I filed a claim for a replacement phone through Asurion online claim filing system phoneclaim.com. A day later I hear news of a new Samsung Note 7. So now I'm contacting Asurion by phone to cancel my request because a newer Samsung Note 7 is being released in August 2016 and my current phone could still be used. Asurion representatives informed me the phone was sent already but once I receive the device it was OK to return and expect a refund in around 5 business days.
After returning the device, tracking it, and patiently waiting I received nothing for a month. So I decided to call Sprint to check the status but was told to call Asurion. As I did I explained the line of events and wanted to check the status. They confirmed that the original phone was received June 2016 and since I called they were now going to file a claim and I should see a refund in a week. Week goes by nothing so I call Asurion again. Told them what happened and was told that I had to call Sprint about this issue. At this point I'm furious. It's now September 22, 2016 and I'm still given the runaround and no answers. They can't do this. I feel robbed and they refuse to do the right thing. That $150 didn't grow on trees and I don't have a million plus customers to rip off. This matter ruins my day every time I think about it.

When I contacted Asurion in regards to it they told me that someone had signed for the phone (mind you, I live alone and didn't sign for it) when I asked what to do next they then told me I needed to contact FedEx and get a copy of the signature. When I asked for my money back because at this point they had already charged me the $200 deductible they refused and wouldn't even send me a new phone.
Months went by, on and on arguing with them to send me a new phone. I even spoke with the corporate supervisor named Kendrick, who is very rude by the way and they would not help me. August 24th, I went to the Sprint store immediately after breaking my phone. After filling out all of the paperwork, I watched the staff fax the claim to Asurion. I was told I would receive my new device within 2 days. Having received numerous excuses as to why my phone wasn't delivered, I returned to the store on August 29th. Sprint staff provided evidence that the original fax went through. They emailed me the information as well. I've jumped through every hoop Asurion put out there only to hear the response "we haven't received your paperwork." Repeatedly, I asked for an email address so I could forward them the affidavit I had already filed. Repeatedly, I've been told ASURION DOESN'T ACCEPT EMAILS!!! Faxes and snail mail they take, but anything that would prove they're an actual 21st century corporation or provide the consumer with evidence of Asurion's bad behavior or incompetence is unwelcome.
Because of their failure to fulfill my claim in a timely way, I've been forced to buy another phone and minutes to hold me over. Because, the temp phone has a different number and lacks my contacts, their delay has had a real financial impact. Additionally, because of the delay and the subsequent recall on the Note 7, my Note 5 (only a month old with features I loved) is no longer available. Despite their repeated failures, and inability to provide me with a phone the same size as the one I insured Asurion is still charging me a $200 deductible AND they informed me if I don't return the broken phone in 10 days I will be charged an additional $500. Let that sink in.
Asurion did eventually offer me a $50 gift card, but they seemed oblivious to the fact that $50 doesn't cover the month of service for which I paid despite not having a phone. It doesn't cover my temporary phone or the minutes I was forced to purchase. It doesn't cover the financial impact on my life. If I wasn't under a lease requiring the return of a Sprint phone in a couple months, I could have gone to Electronic Express and purchased an unlocked device nearly identical to the one I actually want for $179. Yes I priced them.
This begs the question, why are they claiming the value of my device is nearly $700. Why will I be fined $500 if the USPS loses the broken phone and why have I been wasting money on scam insurance? If Asurion actually wanted to fulfill its obligations wouldn't they have an available email address? BTW - the tone from their staff (especially in the "office of the CEO") Class action/mass filing anyone?

I immediately called to report the issue and was told they would send me out the HTC and to send back the Nexus. Monday I received a replacement. It was another used Nexus 5x, but this time it was bricked. Bootlooped until its battery died. I called Asurion again to ask what was going on, and to tell them that I couldn't send back the first Nexus they sent me because I needed a working phone.
I asked this agent to please just send me the phone they had offered, the HTC 10. At this point, with a very nasty attitude she told me I didn't have an HTC one m9, I had a 5x... after trying to explain that the 5x was a screw up on their part and getting nowhere I asked for a supervisor. I got this nice lady who informed me that even though they had repeatedly promised me the HTC 10 that they weren't going to honor that. I would need Bell to offer it to me. After informing her to check her notes she realized that I already had been cleared for it by Bell, but she still refused to send it to me. She kept ending the call claiming to be trying to figure out something for me, and called me back several times. Finally, hours from when I placed my original call, she calls back to say she'd found an m9 she could give me. It was on back order and would take a week, but I could keep the Nexus in the meantime.
It's now been a month. Still no phone. I've been charged, and paid for it, but no phone. I called a couple days ago to inquire what was going on, they told me that even though they promised me the phone in a week that they don't have any in stock and don't know when they will have any. The agent told me there is no guarantees on their end of when I could get my phone. No explanations or attempt to give me even a ballpark. I asked if I should expect to still be waiting in 3 months, 6 months, or a year even. He said it could be. Asked if I needed anything else and ended the call. I checked my email the next morning for tracking the package, there was nothing. I called Asurion, the computer tells me "to complete your order". I explained to them that I am on call 24 hours a day, I have 14 employees that need to be able to contact me at any time. I also have a small child and live in a rural community. So having a phone is essential to me functioning. This is a HUGE let down. I also feel taken advantage of by all parties involved. She would not even speculate on what a wholesale phone should cost in "deductible" from an "insurance company" that I have been paying monthly premiums to. Charging the customer a "deductible" charge of more than the phone actually cost the company is NOT insurance.
After a long conversation in futility, I advised Lillian that I was recording the phone call and would like to send her a copy, but she went ballistic, demanding I stop recording. I advised her that her own recording instructed that "This phone call MAY be recorded" and I had told the last supervisor it was being recorded, plus I'm in Texas where it's legal to record calls. She responded with "that's for quality purposes" to which I responded "exactly". Needless to say, that did not bode well and she eventually hung up on me.
Bottom line, a deductible is fine, legal and even expected, but charging a $199 "deductible" for a phone that cost this company far less is simply robbery. Lillian's response to that comparison, "Well, it's America". Well Lillian, that is not the America or type of American company I want to deal with. After receiving my expensive replacement phone, I will cancel all my "insurance" with Asurion.

We all know the Asurion phone drill. Pay $10/month. Get a replacement phone for any reason (lost, broken, stolen, etc.) for a premium. So we pay $120/year + $199 for a replace iPhone 6 plus. This was for my college student son that lives 3 hours away. With that distance, we had ship the broken phone back to Asurion the day he activated the replacement or risk another $500 fee from Asurion. The broken phone was in the mail the same day. Upon activating his refurbished replacement, we came to find out the touchscreen did not work - at all. Multiple phone calls to Asurion Customer Service resulted in more frustration due to poor customer service, excessive background noise during the call, and the inability to work with us and the situation of him living away from home thus causing problems with shipping, timing, and mailing the return.
I decided to call AppleCare tech support. In a 5 minute call, they had all the information they needed to see him at an Apple Store near his university. Another 5 minutes inside the store, they verified the phone we received was recycled garbage (that was still under warranty). They immediately gave him a new 6 plus on the spot, activated it, and he was on his way back to campus with a brand new 6 plus... no other questions asked. THAT is how Customer Service should work. I immediately canceled the Asurion coverage we had on 3 other phones. I will never deal with them again.

Cracked screen on a Lg G4. Asurion said I can't have the same model, they said it must be a Lg G5, even though I bought the LG G4 less than a year prior. So, all the batteries and charging stations and accessories had to be repurchased for this new model at my expense. They then said I had to pay $150 deductible, and that they can only send me a refurbished phone. Outrageous? They want me to mail them my broken phone... They said my new one (refurbished) will show up in 5 days. But... A month later they finally mailed it.
When it arrived, the phone's screen said "this phone is corrupt, and may not work properly". Exactly what you want your new phone to say right out of the box right? Lol. The phone began to start and reboot in a endless cycle. I'm with Verizon, and regretting it. I hear AT&T uses Asurion too. I will be looking for a way in the future to avoid Asurion. I see they just got sued, but still up to same thing. They need to be sued a little stronger next time... $20 a month, to pay $150 deductible, to put $75 screen, to then resell for $150, and make me wait a month, and send me broken replacement phone... Asurion are criminals.

This insurance company is HORRIBLE and completely tried to screw us over. A phone on our account had shorted out, leaving half of the screen staticky, blank, and unresponsive. The phone was not dropped, it was an internal shortage that just decided to happen. We made a claim through insurance, in which they would send us a phone for $200 more... when this phone was purchased no more than 2 months prior. They processed the request even though we tried to cancel in order to go through warranty for free, because it was an internal shortage, not our mistake.
We were told we could not cancel this request and the phone was shipped to us anyway with the charge of $200 going on our monthly phone bill. We were told to send the phone back, unopened, when we received it and to pay this amount and it would be credited back to us. We refused to pay when the phone would not be kept and they can simply override the charge and take it off our bill. We called to complain, and they told us it would be off on the next bill.
When it wasn't, we called again, they said it would take up to 3 months for the charge to be dismissed. When 3 months passed and it was still on the bill, our phone company threatened to suspend our services for this unpaid amount for a phone we don't even have in our possession. Our phone company called and Asurion told them we sent the wrong phone back... when it was the only phone in our possession at the time. So how could it be wrong? They are continuing to play games and we continue to call and complain. There is a different excuse every time and they are completely unprofessional.

Because of this the phone fell from my hand and the screen got a small crack. The phone is still working and the screen is also still working, however it is impossible to hold the phone sometimes because it gets extremely hot. Asurion is telling me I have to pay $200 to get it replaced! Why am I being penalized for a defective phone? Was I suppose to get burned by the phone and then sue?! Tech tried to help, but I noted that screen bleed was happening. Told it was screen damage and NOT malfunction covered by warranty or I would pay 500 if Verizon discovered this after I sent it to them.
Called Asurion and told to print, fill out and sign affidavit. THEN send pictures of it AND I'd back to them and they would contact me in 3 hours. Nothing after 2 hours, so I checked status online. Magically I got their email to continue claim. My black Note 5 (most common color?) was back-ordered, but could get a gold one. We shall see if next day shipping happens and if refurb I get works. I had my phone screen go black so I took it to the local AT&T store to have it checked out. They took it apart and tested it for moisture and looked at screen for cracks with nothing to be found. The salesman said it was clean and a warranty was going to be no problem. They ordered a new phone from Asurion which I got in two days and I then sent back the so called damaged phone for warranty. Two weeks later Asurion sends back the damaged phone and says "keep them both. We are not covering the damaged one and you owe for the replacement." I go back to AT&T store and tell them the news. The manager then says, "We will order you another new phone and when it comes send back the replacement one and we will file under insurance not warranty and your cost will be $149.00." They said, "Easy. It will be done." So now I have two new phones and my so called damaged one.
I at this point am little concerned so I call AT&T and and they say, "It's too late to send back the the replacement phone since it's past 10 days." We argue for 2 hours and finally agree to me paying $200.00 for the damaged phone and AT&T paying $200.00 for the other half since I have been a long standing customer. Then they say, "Put the 2nd new phone in the return box and ship back to Asurion and they will refund you the $149.00 if it's done in ten days." I shipped it in 2 days with postage receipt. I now get my next bill which should be the normal phone bill but it's not. The insurance claim hasn't been processed and I haven't heard a thing from Asurion and it's been sent over 30 days ago. I call AT&T again about the $149.00 and they check records and say it was received on the 4th of August. This is now the 31st of August and they call Asurion to see what is going on.
Asurion says "yes we have received it and intend to refund you the $149.00 but it will take 2 to 3 billing cycles to do it." That's 3 months for my credit to appear but if I don't get their phone back in 10 days they will not honor it. This is the absolute worst company that I have ever dealt with. They respond to not covering my so called damaged phone in less than 2 weeks but not a reply at all to the new one being sent back. They tell customers to get their device back in 10 days but their refund has to wait 2 to 3 months. I will never take insurance if the name Asurion is behind it. AT&T is not doing much better in my opinion and I am on the way out of there also.

I can understand if they were giving you a brand new replacement device, but this is not the case, and half the time, they send you a defective device. I was doing it online, filing my claim and they tried giving me a 32GB black Note 5 when I have a 64GB gold Note 5. The color doesn't matter to me but the GB sure do. I had to call someone from this place and they told me that I had to take a picture of my phone and proof of my identity to get a new phone. How do they not know what phone I have if I pay for it monthly?
My mom ended up calling someone and we ended up back at the store. The lady at the AT&T store helped us greatly and sent in the claim. This all happened Monday and here we are on Wednesday and my phone comes in. GUESS WHAT. It's not even the right phone!! Of course it's not!! Just my luck! I get online to file a claim and get sent off to Asurion's website. While working through the steps, it cuts me off saying I had to call their customer support. So I hop on the phone and call and that's where it went downhill. The customer service representative told me that since I didn't use the phone (call/text) since I added the insurance, I was unable to file the claim.
Yet, being a wife, mother, full-time student and living 1000 miles from our closest relatives, anyone having even one of those in common would know it's virtually impossible to go even an hour without making a phone call or text message. I even offered to pull up my activity off of the Verizon website and email it to them and the representative was completely unhelpful. She said that no activity showed up on her end. My biggest beef is if you are going to have a policy like this then you'd better have the software to be able to back it up. I discovered through their site that the item had shipped to an area two hours from me so I tried to get a hold of Asurion to see what claim I had opened and I was in a Verizon store soon after 9:30 yesterday morning... Short story was that, Verizon I was able to get them on the phone for me.
My understanding yesterday morning was that someone had received a phone from under my account using my insurance... The guy from Asurion said something about something suspicious showing so they deactivated that phone. So yesterday I went on Asurion Facebook page and questioned why or how someone could open a claim under my account when I never had!!! So yesterday evening I received a call after private messaged them and I asked the guy if he could send an email showing that I had talked to him and I also asked him why I was never notified about opening a claim up.
Lo and behold he said in the email that in 22-June-2016 an Eye on Fraud report on behalf of the claim filed in May 2016, which the claim was filed by someone else with a different address. Now why did they sit on this information? And if I hadn't started a inquiry to see if my insurance would cover the loose charging port I would still be in the dark... I am absolutely shocked at this company -- So, I had dropped my phone (iPhone 6) and the bottom of the screen cracked. I saw that if I filed a claim, there would be a $100 deductible. I figured Apple charges $100 for a screen replacement, so I'd be getting a better deal with a new phone for the same price. Also I pay for premium insurance with AT&T, so I thought I might as well make use of its features. I called up AT&T and they redirected me to Asurion. I filed a claim online which only took a matter of five minutes, so I'm thinking "this is too good to be true" (spoiler, it is).
Today, three days after filing the claim, I received the phone. After opening up the package, I saw that the apple logo on the back was sticking out a little bit. I've gotten refurbished phones before, and I know that the quality should be the same as a brand new phone, so I thought I would go to my local AT&T store to see if they could do something about it, where they told me to call up Asurion since they are separate from each other. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of getting transferred on the phone multiple times and waiting for a new phone all over again. So now I just wanted to get a case for the phone, and I went to Apple to buy it. One of the apple workers takes a glance at the phone and says "That's not an iPhone...", which I guess I sort of knew because of the apple on the back (also the color was a different shade of gold) but I was in denial about it.
I came home and called Asurion immediately. I told them straight up "you gave a me a bootleg phone" and which the guy said "I've never heard of that happening" (lol ok). After being transferred a few times, I was told I would I get a new one in the mail in three days, and I was assured it would be "a real one". So I will give you an update. I will most likely take it back to Apple and have them confirm. WARNING do not send them your REAL phone after you receive the fake one (no matter how damaged your phone is, it is still worth more than the fake one they send).

I get back and today tried to file a claim with Asurion. I'm told the insurance dropped when she activated the 5S. I say okay but the insurance for the 6S WAS ACTIVE (verified by Verizon) when the 6 stopped working and I'm making a claim after the fact. I get passed around to several unhelpful people who have no interest in processing a claim then they hang up.
I try again. Same result. I waste another 30 minutes, get nowhere, and they hang up on me in mid-sentence! I call Verizon and they call Asurion with me. Verizon confirm to Asurion the 6S phone was covered by protection at the time of the incident and I'm making a claim after the fact. We get passed around for 30 minutes and they hang up again! So a year later husband's phone was run over. Filed a claim for replacement and paid $99 deductible. Received "new" phone next day. 3 weeks later hubby drops his phone (in a protective case) from less than 2 feet, and the screen cracked. I chose not to have screen repaired so as not to void the warranty. A week later phone just quit picking up signal. Wifi worked, everything else worked, but no calls or anything through the network.
I called and told them the phone was defective, a normal new phone can withstand normal drops, wear, & tear without problem. The rep said they would replace it for free if it wasn't damaged, but since the screen was broken it would be replaced via a regular claim, which would be the maximum replacement during the time frame so plan would be cancelled. Replacement also cost $199 this time.
I am now using this phone while my husband uses my original non-replaced phone since I tend to be in less situations where the phone may be damaged. I've had it for 1 month now, and it's not working like it should, constantly dropping signal. But it can't be replaced again because it was maxed out. I think the phones they send for replacement are shoddy at best, and the company is a huge scam! So far I've paid over $1,200 between insurance plan, original phone price, and deductibles, and I'm left with a piece of junk!!! I love apple products when bought new, but life happens and we thought the insurance would protect us from expensive damages. What a joke!

I had a beautiful 17 inch Acer laptop with fast processor, lots of memory, an awesome sound card, amazing monitor, built-in speakers, webcam, the works which cost me $700 on sale. One day, my hubby laid a heavy book on the closed cover causing the screen to develop dead pixels. We had Asurion's coverage thru my stepson, who worked in their call center. He said to send it in and they would most likely replace the screen or replace the computer with something comparable. All we had to do was pay $50 and send it in. Cool, I thought I could be getting a new laptop for $50. Wrong. Instead of having my laptop repaired, they did replace it... with a $200 refurbished HP that is NOT EVEN CLOSE to comparable to the Acer. So why didn't you send it back, you may ask? The day after the "new" laptop arrived, I received an Acer hard drive in the mail. They had already dismantled my computer.
I will never, ever do business with these crooks again. I would have been much better off taking my laptop into a local repair shop and having the screen replaced. They are supposed to be offering extended warranty coverage for when life happens and we break our devices, but they don't always cover "every day accidents" like when my neighbor's tv was broken by a thrown ashtray and they said they don't cover THOSE kinds of accidents. Just know that when you purchase the extended warranty at places like Walmart, it is with Asurion. Read fine print and know what you are getting, or better yet, don't waste your money.

If I could rate them as -0 I would. I broke my Samsung Galaxy S6 Monday night. I immediately contacted Sprint, my carrier and they redirect me to Asurion, Sprint's claims department. I filed the claim online that night and I was told to go to the store the next day. On Tuesday the store could not fix the phone, so I had to open a new claim, right on the spot. When I filed the claim over the phone, I was told over the phone that the color I originally have (black) is out of stock and the only ones they have in stock is the white phones. At this point, I don't care I need the phone for my business. They mention that it would take up to three days for me to get the phone, even though the website clearly states that if you submit a claim before 10:00 pm CST you will get your replacement the next day. This is not the case!
On Tuesday I get an email (11:12 am PST) that my claim is complete and the phone is ready to ship and I would have a tracking number within 12 hours. On Wednesday (2:08 pm PST) more than 12 hours from the original email I get another email telling me that my phone now is on back order and it will take from 3 to 7 days for the phone to be available! I contacted them over the phone, and I was told that it may take up to three days to get the back order. How is this possible when the day before it was ready to be shipped! At this point, I have no choice but to wait, to get my $200 replacement, which, by the way, I am paying through my Sprint account! I went online today, to find out the status and as per today from the chat I had with one of their reps (Queene) they have no idea when would they get the back order. No one has a legit answer and without a phone I am subjected to chat with someone online and they are very clueless.
We should be allowed to file the claim directly through Sprint since they are the ones charging us monthly for the protection plan and have our replacement phones coming from the store directly. That way there is no waiting, and we can activate the replacement right at the store. I stated to them that I am losing business and money because of them and all I got is another phone number to call! Let Sprint deal with this company and have them file the claim directly, since we are leasing the phones with them not Asurion! The website, emails, and conversations/chat are full of lies and false advertisement! I am submitting screenshots of where the website claims to ship your phone the next day and screenshots of the emails I have got so far from this company.

The question of whether Asurion is running a illegal con game is well documented. My question is why AT&T and other phone companies are still in bed with them? And second, when in the hell is the consumer protection agency gonna do something about it? They are ripping off thousands of consumers on a daily basis. $8 a month to insure anything between $100 -$900. 24hr delay to respond. Then response that requires unrealized documentation. Then if and when they do respond, a used or non-working device. Then more stalling. This is unbelievable that AT&T, Verizon and ASURION can openly commit fraud like this.

I returned a refurbished phone to Asurion after deciding to keep my iPhone 5S with its intact cracked screen. Was never informed that it was a refurbished phone and decided to return the phone to them with their APPROVAL. Asurion agreed to refund my 100 dollars to my ATT account. Each month I call and they assure me that they ALL (spoke to more than 10 reps so far...) see in the account notes that a refund was authorized and YET I have still not seen this refund to my account. This is a deal breaker for me with ATT after being a customer for many, many years. Tired of being transferred around to a host of reps that do NOT take care of the problem. ATT is less helpful than Asurion... I will be canceling insurance on ALL of my phone lines and devices and will advise all of my family members to take good care of their devices as this is NOT worth it. I pay 24 dollars a month for 3 devices. This is $288 a year! How foolish am I!!

My 1 year old iPhone 6s was water damaged. I went to Apple Store where they checked and said it was a dud and they could give me new one for $199. I had Asurion insurance and hence filed a claim and they shipped a new one out for $99 only. Two days after the phone arrived my iPhone miraculously started working. So I went back to the Apple Store and asked them whether it genuinely was good and working and that it would not give me problems in the future. They were stumped, checked and said it was good, no problems.
Being an honest citizen I called Asurion, told them about my problem and I was told I could ship the box (unopened as it luckily was) back. Which I did. Now they refuse to refund the $99 money charge saying it was not within 7 days (I spoke to another representative. She said within 10 days.) and the customer service representative I had spoken to at the time of the problem had said within 2 weeks. I wish I had just kept both phones.

Someone stole my iPhone 6 May 1st. I tried to locate but ended up filing a claim May 3rd to replace my iPhone 6. I paid $199 for a replacement phone... which I figure is refurbished but has been working fine... so lo and behold my original phone was mailed back to me approximately 7 weeks after reported stolen. Perfectly good phone... I had paid $600 for it... so I took it in to see if I could get it hooked up for my disabled brother and the Verizon people called Asurion and Asurion says that once a phone is reported lost or stolen it can NEVER be connected again or used. SO that means that I have a $600 PAPERWEIGHT.
This is absolutely ridiculous that I paid for it and I can never use it again. What a bunch of crap... spent the last hour and a half being sent between Verizon and Asurion and the phone cannot be turned on again... (Until Asurion get it in their grubby little paws and then they will send it out to someone as a refurbished phone.) So now I have paid $800 for a refurbished phone. This is so frustrating.

My experience was terrible with Asurion (Sprint)!! My son got his phone wet and I began a claim that included verifying my address. My address that they had on record was inaccurate and I updated it via the conversation we had during the call. They stated they would overnight a phone and I would pay the 200.00 deductible. The next day as I was waiting for phone, I checked tracking online and the tracking said the phone had been delivered. I checked outside and no phone.
I called Asurion and they said they had FedEx deliver it to the old address. Frustrated, I asked why and no plausible answer was given. I needed that phone that day and the Asurion operator said there was nothing they could do other than overnight another so I said fine. The next day. No phone. I called again and the new operator said the person I spoke to the previous day had no authority to say that another phone would be overnighted and that my claim was now under "review".
This was now a Friday and the earliest I could receive a phone would be Monday. I asked what they were willing to do to accommodate the inconvenience they had now subjected me to and they asked what I wanted. I said a phone in my hand, they said no. I said my deductible refunded, they said no. I again asked what they were willing to do and they said they would apologize. It is now Tuesday and I still have no phone. After calling today, they said "it SHOULD be there tomorrow". I have no faith in their words and will never use their business again and it is my recommendation that no one else does either. There are other competent companies available. Please research and use one of the others because Asurion SUCKS!

I have been with AT&T for over 10 years. I have had device protection with throughout this time, and pay monthly for this protection on the 5 phones on the account... This week my daughter dropped her Samsung Note 5 64GB (SM-920A) phone, cracked the screen and camera. Called AT&T, they verified I had protection and passed me to Asurion!
Called AT&T again, explained the situation, went through the security check again. DOB, Password, last 4 of SSN etc. This report told me that the device listed is the correct one! She then called Asurion, confirmed the device I had was in fact the 64GB version, and told me that the Asurion rep would complete my claim...
So, now the Asurion rep verifies my identity. DOB again, Password again, last 4 of SSN again, and now verify some information from my credit report (associated addresses etc.)! "Thank you sir, your identity has been verified", then she proceeds to inform me that I now need to submit an affidavit of identification, a copy of my license, a copy of my AT&T phone bill, proof of purchase of the phone, and pay $99! Now, having already confirmed my identity, I have to provide hard copies, and after AT&T verified the phone, etc. etc. And do all the leg work proving what has already been proven, which begs the question, why bother verifying my identity? At the point, I was more than upset, asked to speak to a supervisor, low and behold, hard copies were no longer needed! This seems like an insurance company of old, the type who like collecting premiums, but doesn't like paying claims, or makes claims extremely difficult!

I used the company to get a replacement on my LG Nexus 5, which had a microphone that died. I love the Nexus 5 and was hoping to get the same model, but ended up receiving a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S5. I won't give it one star because there were some positives and I did read the fine print, but the service was not worth the price it in my experience. The good: The claim process was quick and easy. Just fill out the form and away you go. The package I received arrived the next business day. The refurbished phone was in pretty good condition. I couldn't even tell it was refurbished until I opened the back and saw the sticker.
The bad: The cost of the replacement phone is too high. I paid $8/month CAD for the warranty and was charged a $120 CAD deductible for the phone. So after 12 months of warranty, the phone cost me $216 CAD (12x8+120). I can get a new comparable phone for less than this. I had to return my old phone. Despite the fact that I overpaid for the replacement phone, I now have to send Asurion my old phone. The microphone on it doesn't work, but the rest of it is fine and I can still give it to my kids to play games, etc. This doesn't seem to apply to lost phones. I wish the phone I got was the same model. The reason I chose the Nexus 5 was because it doesn't include the bloat-ware that other manufacturers include in the Android OS. The Samsung S5 I got is horrible for this.

Soon as I received the phone and uploaded iCloud and all of my data, I texted my brother to say "Hey I have my phone back, yay!" He texted back "Who is this and I'm blocking you." "Say what? It's your sister!" After quite a while he still didn't believe me. My phone number evidently was popping up on his side as an area code of 214 not 561...
I then became my own detective and called Apple and Sprint. Apple suggested it was a carrier issue. So on to Sprint. The automated voice asked if I were calling about my 214 number. I said yes then it said "This phone has been requested lost or stolen," then disconnected me. AH! Onto something. I called again and got an agent and explained the situation. Evidently, I found out my "new" phone Asurion sent me was that of an A. ** 214 Area code. As it stands, I'll need to wait until Tuesday for another phone to be sent from Asurion. Wow. So fun. What a disaster. Bottom line, Asurion getting a hold of a LOST & STOLEN phone and sending out as a refurbished phone to Sprint customers ain't right! So annoying.

About a week ago I was having problems with my Galaxy S6 which I bought about a month ago. I tried to soft reset it and it worked but the system went back out again after about 3 days. So I went to MetroPCS and asked what I should do and she stated that 3 others prior to me came in with the same issue and I needed to contact Samsung and get it fixed or a new phone since it was a factory issue. Called Samsung and she could not reset it and I had to send it to them. Well she told me it would cost 166.84 but it would take 2-3 business days to get there, 3-5 days to fix it at the least, and 2-5 business days to send it back. So I'm looking at 2-3 weeks w/o a phone so that was a no!
Then my other option was to file a claim and pay the 200 and get a phone asap which I did not really want to do because I wanted to save some money. So I did it and paid the $200 and about 2 days ago I was speaking to my co-worker and she said "oh this company is terrible and they sent out refurbished phones...this and that." So I immediately freaked out. By this time I had already paid the $200. So I look on this site at the reviews and they are TERRIBLE! Just awful. So I'm like just great. I'm gonna have a bad phone and issues. So by this time I'm like I need to switch companies just in case something happens I'm fine.
So I look up T-Mobile and they use this company to lol. So I'm like great. So then I'm like I just have to wing it and see what I get. Phone came yesterday and it was everything! Brand new S6. I don't even know where to begin when talking about the level of dissatisfaction I have encountered with both this company as well as my service provider, Metro PCS. Please take this as a "BUYER BEWARE" notice, because as you can see on this site there are numerous problems with this company. Let me start by describing the problem with my original phone. I purchased a brand new Samsung Galaxy S5 for a good chunk of cash about two years ago from Metro PCS. Let me add that I decided to pay extra for insurance every month, and I was told by the Metro manager that with this insurance, I could get a brand new replacement phone - nothing REFURBISHED.
Well, since then, the software was just starting to run very slow and the phone had a bit of damage - a crack in the screen and some wear and tear around the edges. So I decided that I might as well use the insurance that I'm paying extra for, so I followed through with the claim process on Asurion. That wasn't a problem. What was the problem was receiving a refurbished phone that had damage. The audio jack seems to have some issues because when I plugged in my headphones, there were instant static noises. I know it's not my headphones because I've tried my headphones on other devices, and they work perfectly. I've turned the phone off and on again, and it did not work.
Another issue that I had was with the charger they sent - when charging my phone, I heard a soft, buzzing, static noise, and I was very concerned. My final issue that I fixed by myself was that despite being with Metro, I was immediately taken to T Mobile when I called. Anyways, the first time I called to inquire about these issues, I was basically told that I had to fix these problems by myself and on my own time - despite paying that insurance and the $200 to get what I found out today is a refurbished phone. I am constantly being told by Asurion that they do not guarantee a new phone, but when I got the phone from Metro I was clearly told I'd get a new one.
I just spoke to the manager and he has clarified this. It is not good on Metro's part for not telling their customers about the phones possibly being refurbished. And Asurion is even worse for letting this happen. Because with those $200, you might as well be buying a new phone! I've called Asurion at least 4 times today and it's all been a game. The employees there know the company is in hot water and all they are doing us is feeding us with garbage.
I've emailed them as well but I doubt that will get me anywhere. They offered to send another phone but how do I know it's not refurbished? They don't even know. I dont want to take any other chances, I just want my working phone. Don't waste your money here, and buy a new phone somewhere else. Finally, be aware that if you're paying insurance, at Asurion you have a great chance at getting a refurbished phone. Just buy a new phone because you could probably get it brand new and for a cheaper price.

I cracked my screen and had to pay $200 deductible. I was told that any damage to my next phone, I would only have to pay $50 for a replacement. Furthermore, when I ordered my replacement and paid another $200, I was told that my phone is on backorder and it will be 5-7 days until I receive it.
It has now been 7 days and my phone has not even shipped yet. I expected to receive some kind of notice letting me know it would be longer than expected but have not received anything. I contacted Asurion and they said the average wait for backordered phones is 7-10 days. This is completely unacceptable. Misleading business practices and defective equipment. I purchased cellular phone insurance through Verizon Wireless and carried it for almost two years without having to use it. When my phone broke, I contacted Verizon and was informed that my insurance was owned by Asurion. I contacted Asurion and they promised to send me a new phone, after paying a $199 deductible. This was the first I had been told about the deductible, and I had no option but to accept it because I needed a new phone. When the new phone arrived, it was clear it was a refurbished phone, not a new one as I was lead to believe I would receive. Moreover, the phone did not work properly. A quick internet search revealed that Asurion has shipped many many defective phones to various customers. I called them again and they sent a second phone promptly. Again, this phone did not work.
I contacted Verizon and they tried to fix the phone but they were unable to and told me I needed to go back to Asurion (for a third time). However, when I tried to contact Asurion, I called the customer service number, and they asked for my cell phone number (as they did the first two times). Only difference is I get a message stating "my number is not recognized, call back later". It appeared to me that they have actively blocked my cell phone number. Their equipment comes with a one-year warranty so I was entitled to a replacement but I could not get one from them. I ended up giving up on the insurance, I went to Verizon and purchased a new phone (out of pocket completely) and w/out this dubious insurance.
Asurion now has all of my monthly payments ($11/month for approximately 20 months) plus my $199 deductible and has still not provided me with a working product. This company is running a scam. If you review the posts online you will see that almost all the complaints are of a similar nature. They are preying on people signing up for cell phone insurance, and then not providing the service that they promise. It shouldn't take three or more tries to get a working phone from them. If I use my car insurance, the car is fixed by the mechanic. I don't need to go back an additional two times to have a working car. This is completely a theft from the consumer.

I purchased a washer and dryer from Home Depot. Apparently Home Depot sells dryers without a time dry, but it is on the display of the dryer showing it's available for use. They also have protection plans with small fine print and do not give you any paperwork about it or inform you of the common problems other people are having with the protection plan. They also install the washer and dryer knowing it is against the protection plan to store anywhere without A/C. So when the protection plan kicks in after the one-year warranty. You are no longer covered. Then you're stuck with a broken washer or dryer and a protection plan that you paid for. Apparently the fine print indicates that if you do not have your appliances in a controlled environment, you are not covered.
I live in Florida where most of washers and dryers go on an outside patio inside a locked storage room or in a car garage. The protection plan does not cover that nor do they inform you that it has to be stored inside your home with an air-conditioner. Yet Whirlpool covers outside storage with the one-year warranty and extended warranty as long as your appliances are not showing any rust. Understandable! My appliances still look brand-new after two years in my outside storage. If I had known I would not be covered, I could have bought Whirlpool's extended warranty.

I have had the same 3 phones since I started 1.5 years ago. I dropped them. Will never do business with them again.

While I could unload for pages with the fury of dissatisfaction over my experience with this company, I'll simply warn consumers: Asurion does not care about you! They consistently alter policies and play with the language of their contracts without clearly informing you. Their customer service is inept, rude and under-educated about the products they claim to cover. 90 days and still waiting on replacement phone for my son even after paying an unexpected and unannounced deductible increase. RUN to the next available insurance coverage on your mobile devices. I'll rejoice on the day I hear that this company ceases to exist.

Someone managed to file a claim on my account, claiming my iPhone 6 was lost or stolen. This person paid the $100 deductible and Asurion mailed them a phone in April 2016. On June 24, 2016, Verizon Wireless disconnected phone service for my iPhone based on this fraudulent claim. It took 7 days of daily phone calls to Verizon and Asurion before Asurion would release the lock on my phone so Verizon could reconnect it. I requested additional information from Asurion multiple times as I don't know how someone could manage to get this fraudulent claim through unless my account was compromised. I expressed my concern about my personal information being exposed for two months before knowing about it. Asurion refused to answer my questions about how this happened or why they would mail a phone to an address not on my account. Verizon Wireless was unable to reconnect my phone without Asurion's approval.

So, I pay insurance fee to Sprint for all my cell phones just in case something happens. I only file a claim when necessary, so I file a claim to get a replacement, it takes them a week to ship. In the meantime they charge the 200$ deductible, send it to crappy FedEx whom never delivered my phone. I call Asurion to inform them, they tell me there is nothing they can do because that is a problem between FedEx and myself, that I need to take it up with them!! Now am beyond frustrated because am already going back and forth with FedEx because of their crappy service. Asurion is still charging me the deductible even though I don't have a phone!!!
Now I wish the phone companies give a choice of different insurance carriers because Asurion is HORRIBLE. Their customer representatives are UNPROFESSIONALS!! The last thing one told was that they have no control of who picks up the delivery! Like I told her then why the hell do I pay monthly for a service that I don't even use!! And if they see that a customer is having trouble why not follow up is their name on the line!!! My recommendation to people don't waste your time nor your money insuring phones because Asurion are thief!!! They need to be shut down!!!
