My phone was dropped & screen destroyed beyond repair. We spoke to a representative at Verizon, who called & connected me with an Asurion rep. A new/refurbished phone arrived next day with return instructions - super easy! After paying the deductible, the replacement phone was more affordable than opting for a Verizon upgrade since it was out of contract. I was pleased with the service, (including Verizon store & Apple iCloud support) - and this option saved money. Thanks!

I filed a claim on a damaged phone and received a replacement by 2:30pm the next day. This was only about 18 hours after the claim was filed. I also noted an improvement in the documentation that included a means of contacting Asurion in the event there was a problem with the replacement phone, a problem I have had on previous claims.

I did have to send back two of the replacement phones I received. I was not happy at all. Both iPhones that I received had screen response issues. After speaking my mind about the two phones not working and taking time off of work to wait for UPS, I finally received a NEW iPhone and an upgrade from my prior Apple device. I did have a few problems but in the end, Asurion made it "right". I am satisfied and must say the replacement deliveries were the next day.

The customer service I received was very nice. The only problem is the phone I got was a refurbished phone and has spots on the screen that do not go away. I just deal with it. I was thankful I had the insurance because I could not afford another phone. I just feel that since the phone I had originally was brand-new that I should've received another new phone.

So I been paying the monthly fee to WIND and then my phone gets wet. It is a SONY Experia AQUA 4 and it gets a small splash and then it does not work again. I call Asurion and they apologize and offer to send me a new phone. (ASURION NEVER SENDS NEW PHONES. THEY ARE like NEW so REFURBISHED.) I ask the lady if I need to send my phone that got wet and she told me NO. So I toss it because it's been over a week and it's been in rice and it still not working. So two days go by and I call ASURION to ask about the phone they are sending and apparently they did not put the request in. So I asked them to make sure it goes through. So four days pass and I get my phone and there is an envelope in it and I am curious so I call to ask if is in case I do not like the phone or if it breaks. The customer service tells me, "No you must send the damaged phone".

I told him I did not have it and that "I tossed it because I was told you did not need it." Then the service rep tells me that I will need to pay out $150 on top of the 100 for the USED phone. I then go and get a next phone and today when I called Asurion they tell me I am not getting any money back and I owe the $150. I told them I am sending back the phone and they said "you will not be getting any money back" and I told them they are not getting any more of my money. I have screenshots of the calls that I made to the company on both phones and the length of the conversation. I told them on numerous occasions listen to the conversation of the previous call or look at the notes. They only have 3 calls noted and I called like 7 times. None of the calls are recorded so do not listen to that cause if they were recorded they could check the calls and get back to a customer in 48 hours just like any other company. WORST COMPANY EVER.

Asurion is at best complicit in fraud and at worst perpetrates fraud directly. Yesterday we suddenly discovered a $199 charge on our credit card from Asurion, a company we had no prior contact with. We did not consent to any transaction with them, let alone had ever heard of them. Apparently Asurion (or someone unbeknownst to us) set up an account using our credit card information with an outdated mailing address.

Asurion's customer service has been abysmal. The person we spoke with last night rambled and slurred as if they were drunk, requiring considerable effort to clarify our situation and understand his responses. He claimed an inability to do anything to help until the business office opened the following morning and provided an unnecessarily complicated process to contact them when they did.

Upon getting through to them today they refused to be able to do anything about our situation without providing our credit card information. I don't care how "reputable" a company may be by its online presence, if I've never heard of it and it's suddenly charging my credit card without my consent then I'm not about to confirm my private information or volunteer more. Our only recourse has been to dispute this fraudulent charge with our bank, triggering new credit cards issued. Asurion is a very untrustworthy company.

I cracked my screen so I called Verizon to get the insurance companies number, they provided me with it and it took 6 different times to get through their automated system. It couldn't recognize my number so instead of transferring me to a live person, it made me hang up and keep calling. I finally got my mom's number to work and spoke to a man that DIDN'T KNOW THEY HAD A PROGRAM TO FIX SCREENS... what kind of employee is that? After 15 minutes of talking to this person I called Verizon who said they also had no idea this company did that when my brother had a service tech come to the house a month ago to have this done. Verizon connects me with a woman that says "Not a problem. Let me help you." No phone time is an hour with these people.

The woman states it will be $99 to have the screen fixed, told me the tech will be at my house between 5 & 7 and to wait for a confirmation email or the tech will not be able to fix the phone. No email. So I call back this morning talk to 2 more people at this wonderful company who have no notes from anything prior and they tell me the time slot I chose does not work anymore. I asked for a refund they said no because it wasn't charged to my card. Well- it was so I spoke to management who by credit card number could pull up. The tech was supposed to be at my house at the time promised yesterday. I asked for her to resend the number that the technician needs to fix my phone and she said their system isn't able to do that. What a joke of a company. Absolutely dropping this and going with AppleCare. Would NEVER recommend this company.

I have had Asurion as a part of my AT&T plan for as long as I have had AT&T - 10? 11? 12 years? I have had up to five lines on the account and have had to use this insurance policy multiple times. Honestly, it has to be over a dozen claims. I have always been satisfied with their service and professionalism. I recall once, I was vacationing in a different state when my phone broke. Asurion, by policy, claimed they needed to send the new device to the address on the account. A manager at an AT&T store in that area helped intervene with verifying my identity and Asurion felt comfortable processing my claim and mailed my replacement device to my hotel. That was the Asurion I loved.

The year I upgraded to the Apple iPhone 5c, AT&T promoted their multiple device insurance, which would cover all four phones and laptops! I was overwhelmed by the unexpected added value and immediate savings. As a matter of a fact, I had just filed a claim in Sept. for my dad's phone, because no one was able to hear him. His phone was less than a year old. He went from an LG 4 to the Galaxy S7 Active as the replacement offered. I was totally impressed. Yesterday, I activated a new line on my AT&T account with an old phone. My salesperson told me the new service was still covered under my current insurance plan. Whoa! Really? You don't beat that kind of customer service and satisfaction. I was over the moon!

Then, my balloon was popped. While my son was researching a company more thoroughly for his second interview, he asked if he could use my laptop. His simple little Samsung Chrome Book (which his grandparents bought for him four years ago) was not staying connected to the internet. And then the mousepad on the keyboard was not recognizing touch. His laptop is flawless. No scratches nor dents. No stickers. I was against him having a laptop and when he was presented with this as a present, I warned him I would not replace it. However, for an 18 year old to have taken such good care of it all this time... So I suggested he call Asurion about placing a claim. Fifteen minutes later he informs me he needs to go online to place the claim, take pictures of the serial number, provide a copy of the store receipt of proof of purchase, and wait for their response. I'm like WHAT??

So I call 611. The first person I spoke with, Elizabeth, possibly an AT&T tech, said that was absurd (Yeah, my thought too! ), gave me a claim number, and said a pre-paid return label was being sent out to me and after they receive the laptop, it would take 3-5 business days to diagnose and provide my options. But then I was transferred to Jade, at Asurion, who wanted for us to go online, print and sign an affidavit form include a current copy of a recent bill with proof of the insurance, serial number of the laptop and to take pictures of the product. So I asked, "If I was an 82 year old woman on my granddaughter's plan, living in an assisted living home in another area, who uses a netbook to keep up with pictures on Facebook, would I still be expected to comply with this?"

Because not all devices are printer compatible or easily accessible. AT&T personal accounts can increase up to 10 or more users or numbers - so not all users would necessarily be privy to bill or bill information (accounts can have password protection for access to changes). Uploading pics to a website... Senior citizens have special phones; many are for emergency use or basic non-camera. Some people are just not tech savvy. This process discriminates on sooo many levels. Jade didn't understand so she transferred me to Maria, her supervisor. The only thing Maria could parrot was it was to prevent fraud.

Now I don't understand. "You're processing my claim, because you obviously see I am covered." I can understand an courtesy "take pictures of the serial number and equipment for your records - in case we send the wrong product back to you after if we fix it." How many people get paper bills? Oh yeah, the printer. *eyeroll*

So Maria offers a one time courtesy by-pass. Smh. You are not getting my service nor money for a laptop. For a simple little Samsung Chrome Book that is $180 brand new at my local Best Buy or $99 for Hot Spot to diagnose for same day service? This is a no brainer. Clearly, Asurion's policies infringe on the ADA and certainly takes advantage of people. This is not how an insurance policy works. I've been involved in car accidents that paperwork and processing was less painless than a root canal. And not nearly as mind boggling as all this! AT&T - you need to find a better insurance company. Asurion stenches of Donald Tumptards and deplorables who probably didn't even get a GED and certainly has no understanding of the script they are reading in front of them.

I kept the phone even though it was messing up. Not as bad as my Note but still bad considering I just got the device. I sent it in to AT&T's warranty department. They gave me a bill of 600 because they said the device is missing its liquid damage indicator, which I recently learned is where the sim card tray is. I complained to AT&T that I did not remove it and since the phone has no liquid damage they should not be charging me. The said since it's missing The indicator, it's been tampered with. They said I'd have to talk to Asurion to remove the charges. I talked to Asurion and they said not their problem talk to AT&T. Luckily, I have an old iPhone that I can use as an iPod (it's from a different phone company than mine), but I am not able to have a phone that calls. I pay insurance every month. This is ridiculous. Furthermore, I will have to pay the entire $200 deductible even though the service from them is unacceptable. When phones are on backorder, the least Asurion could do is adjust the deductible or reimburse the insurance that I have paid apparently for NOTHING! Why do they offer a service when they cannot follow through with it!? I am disgusted.

I called Asurion to explain that my son had decided not to use the replacement phone that he was sent. He decided to pay and have the screen repaired instead. I returned the phone within a couple of weeks but never received the refund. My son had decided this before even turning on the phone. The phone was never used and placed the phone back into the box. When I called Asurion, there are no prompts for you to get customer service except to file a claim, so I used the prompts to just get a person on the phone.

After being hung up on several times without a person answering, I finally got through to someone who agreed eventually to process the refund for me, however was told that I did not return the phone within the 30 day window. I am not sure what happened in this instance, but I returned the phone within a couple of weeks but was told I was too late. After persisting, they agreed to process the refund but the refund was never processed, even months later. I called back again today and it was a struggle to get someone on the phone again. I was put on hold eight times and then was finally told that they will process the return and it will take 1-2 business cycles... same as the first time I spoke to them. I have no faith that this refund will be processed but will update later. I am assuming that I will have to call again so I am putting on my calendar to call Asurion again by year end.

A few months ago I cracked the screen on my Galaxy S4 – I have had this phone for a while and many generations have come since this one. I have paid for insurance on my phone for years and maybe used it twice each time paying a deductible so I am not sure what the monthly fee was for... I received the "reconditioned" phone on 10/13. While the phone looked like all was well it came with someone else contacts on the phone. (Flag 1) I contacted Sprint and they walked me thru resetting the phone to factory settings and then told me to go online and activate it. (Flag 2) I went online but I kept getting an error. I called Sprint back and they had to manually activate the phone. (Flag 3) I began using the phone but was having a hard time with the WIFI and other phone functions.

Yesterday I called Sprint back, spent an hour and 1/2 on the phone when they told me “It looks like this phone was sent back to us for WIFI problems, and based on what you are telling us it looks like it was never reconditioned, just cleaned up, boxed up and sent out to you.” I was then told that since "Asurion" is the company that manages their insurance claims I was told I had to go thru them since they sent out the replacement phone. I did have a long conversation with them yesterday one that left me with more questions...

I will be calling them back today and I will have it air over Facebook Live... I want a record and witnesses to what I am experiencing. "But you can't record the..." well here is the thing... Whenever you call a call center you hear some recording that states "this call may be monitored for quality assurance." This means this agent knows they may be recorded. In many cases they even sign something to that effect… I feel justified and covered since they know they may be recorded they should behave...

Let me start first by saying that I was so scared about how my experience might go with Asurion because I read all of the reviews and it seems that people have had almost nothing but horrible experiences. I was blown out of the water and the service I got was nothing what I expected. I have had to file two claims with Asurion. The first was for a Galaxy S3 that I had to replace through warranty back in 2013. That in itself was a completely smooth process, I didn't even give it a second thought. I received a refurbished device, exactly the same model and color as my previous one and it worked great and there's nothing more to really say.

My second claim was filed on October 3, 2016. Two days prior to filing, I had dropped my Note 4 and completely shattered the screen. I worked through my options before coming to the conclusion that filing a claim with my mobile insurance would be the best one. Like I said, I filed the claim on October 3rd around 9 AM. The claim was approved instantly and my Note 4 would be replaced by a black Galaxy S7 and I only had to pay 50% of the deductible ($112) since I hadn't had a claim in the preceding 12 months (I have had the Note 4 for almost exactly 2 years). My new device went out via FedEx Overnight around noon. I received my device at about 3 PM the following day.

I opened the package and noticed it was a refurbished S7, but you would hardly be able to notice because it was gorgeous. It included a new pair of headphones and a new charger. My only issue was that my SIM card from my Note 4 was too big to fit, but I simply went to an AT&T store and they gave me a new one for free, which took less than 5 minutes. I have had the new phone for 9 days and I absolutely love it. It is a huge step up from my Note 4 (even though the screen is smaller) and it cost less to have the device replaced than getting the screen on my Note 4 replaced.

I have been stressed about how I am going to get my photos and misc data off of the Note 4 before the 10 days is up, which the 10 days is up tomorrow. I have tried many options to no avail. There is one way in particular that I can accomplish this, but I have to order special equipment online, which would take longer than the time I have remaining to get the device back to Asurion. I called customer service and the representative was awesome. He immediately suggested an extension. I asked, "what do I do if I still can't erase the device by the end of the extension?" He said that I can call and they will just give me another extension. I had no idea this was an option and I can't believe that my experience has been so awesome with Asurion. The phone call actually inspired me to write this review.

(Another slightly unrelated perk: Samsung was running a promotion for a free Gear VR or 256GB SD card with Galaxy S7 purchase. I filed a claim with them and they accepted my Asurion claim as a purchase and I am receiving a free Gear VR from Samsung!!!) My suggestion to others that are reading this review: don't be turned away by all the bad reviews! My experience was extremely pleasant and I look forward to working with them again if I ever experience any issues with my device.

July 21st: Phone was lost but had insurance. Cost of replacement phone went up (they said) to $250 instead of $50. Phone was delivered and worked 1 month. August 30th: Touchscreen on 1st replacement phone stopped working which made it useless. We had to find an alternative way to delete information on old phone since it didn't work before returning it (or they charge you $300 to delete your information). New phone (so they said) was received September 1st.

October 5th: Touchscreen stopped working on 2nd replacement phone which made it useless (2nd replacement). Called for 3rd replacement phone and received it next day but it was the wrong phone! We owned a 6Plus and they sent us a 6S. Called them back to get correct phone and they said they could not send the correct one until we sent one back. Completely their fault since they have our phone device information in the account. The manager would not admit they made a mistake and said she didn't know how the conversation went (like I asked for a difference device over the phone). Now we have to switch to incorrect (6s) phone and remove data from non-working (2nd replacement) phone, then return the 2nd replacement.

Once we receive the 4th replacement phone (correct 6Plus), we will have to switch all data to new replacement phone and go through this process all over again!!! What happened to customer service where if they make a mistake they own up to it and make it right so the customer is happy. We pay a monthly charge so that we always have a working phone and now we have had to go through this so many times now!

I have been paying insurance premiums through Verizon to Asurion for at least three years. First phone was replaced, with a $100.00 deductible. The replacement model was a different one from my original phone. The phone they replaced it with has now developed issues... Will not keep a charge. I went to my local Verizon store, and a very nice gentleman tried to assist me to get a replacement. He spent about an hour and a half on the phone, and online, with Asurion. In the end they refused to do anything because they stated it is out of warranty. Why have I been paying for insurance all this time then??? One Asurion rep was so rude she actually hung up the phone on the Verizon rep. I am still stunned by the complete disrespect shown by Asurion.

If you're carrying Asurion insurance, check to find out what it does, and doesn't cover... and then hope they'll bother to even cover what they claim they will. Especially if you live in Florida... as it now states it doesn't offer extended warranty in Florida. I immediately canceled the insurance. And I hope this review will help someone else from getting suckered by Asurion.

Sprint's insurance company Asurion said if it's the logic board is damaged phone there would be a $200 deductible to replace the phone. Apple said a failed logic board is not considered a damaged phone just a failed phone. i.e. there should be no deductible. Apple said if we had Apple Care they would simply give me a new phone without any charge. Mmmm wonder who will get my insurance business next time. Apple Care, ya think. I brought it up to Sprint and they told me that all insurance claim phones are refurbished.

So this fraud company charges me $13 a month for insurance, and make you pay over a 3rd of the price of the actual phone cost as a deductible!! I'm sorry but that is ridiculous and horrible service. I will definitely be going prepaid after everything that I've gone through with this horrible company. Asurion insurance is likely not worth the investment. You pay for the insurance, pay the deductible and in exchange for your new phone, they could send you a refurbished one. I had a new Apple iPhone 5 that experienced some water damage. Asurion could not repair the phone. It had to be replaced. In exchange for a new phone, they sent me a refurbished unit. The insurance carries a $149.00 deductible and costs $84 per year. Do the math. If you are paying $84 per year and you never file a claim, how much has the insurance cost you. In 5 years time, you will have invested $420. If you eventually need to file a claim, and the phone needs to be replaced, you will be charged a deductible (mine was $149) and the replacement unit could be refurbished. Maybe paying for repairs when they are needed makes more sense.

Back in March 2016 we had an issue with one of our AT&T phones, so we called for a replacement using our Asurion insurance policy for which we are billed monthly. As luck would have it, we found our way to an AT&T store prior to receiving the replacement phone. As it turned out - nothing was wrong with the phone - it was the user which was malfunctioning. Since our old phone was working perfectly, we returned the replacement phone the same day we received it.

When the bill came out, in April, we noticed we had been charged a deductible of $149 for the new phone that we had already returned. Sparing the details... it is now Sept 30th and I continue to go thru a monthly ritual or calling AT&T to inquire as to why my credit has not posted yet. AT&T says they don't know and that I should call Asurion. I then call Asurion to make the same inquiry to which they assure me that that credit will definitely post within the next 30-60 days. Last month, I actually emailed the CEO of Asurion, and he actually responded. He said he would have the credit issued immediately and he would also have a $50 gift card sent to us. We received the gift card 3 weeks ago but still wait on the credit.

The LG is faster, has a better camera, twice the built-in memory, bigger screen with a higher resolution. And a second screen for most used apps as well as a always on clock. The Samsung isn't even close to being half the phone. So why is it Asurion thinks it's ok to give me a phone I didn't want to begin with as a suitable replacement for a much better phone. This should be illegal. Extremely dissatisfied with this but I guess when your pretty much the only game in town they can give you the shaft as much as they want.

I bought a "Visual Land 10" android tablet" from walmart a month ago for $98, and paid the extra $40 for a 2 YEAR WARRANTY. I was told that the warranty protected against everything except theft or loss. We; after a week of having it, I dropped it and cracked the screen, so I called the product care plan customer service number and talked to a lady and told her my problem, she ASKED ME WHAT KIND OF DEVICE I HAD... which was a VISUAL LAND 10" 10SE ANDROID TABLET... She filed my claim and told me they would get it taken care of and send me another tablet.

The tablet came in the mail today, and it was a raggedy "USED! ($25) NextBook Ares 8" tablet) A $70.00 DIFFERENCE! So I called them, and the idiot I talked to said that "they don't carry Serbian tablets that are purchased in certain stores"... NO ONE, not one single "customer service" representative told me they would NOT have MY tablet. And of course, it never crossed MY mind, because hey, they're the "WARRANTY" people. SURELY they have the damn tablet they are "protecting" to send back to me if I file a claim and send them my tablet. If I send you my tablet, I expect a new one exactly like it, or mine FIXED. That is what a warranty is supposed to do.

After my 4 emails, I still haven't heard anything from these people. Not an email, call, nothing. I went back to the website, (ReplacementChoice.Asurion.com) selected "support" and I was given 5 options to select describing my problem. I selected "I am not satisfied with my claim replacement" and guess what happened?

I got a pop up that told me my tablet was shipped so they were "no longer obligated" to me. SERIOUSLY?? NEVER BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE! And if you do, you better hope you don't crack the screen and file a claim, because you'll never see the type of tablet you originally bought. In my email, I asked them to get in touch with me so I can send them their crappy tablet back so I can get my money back to go to the store and buy my damn tablet AGAIN. I'm still waiting to hear back from these misleading liars. If you buy a warranty, it should come with an EXPLANATION as to what will happen once something happens to your product. But no... you get fooled into buying the warranty so you can screw up, send them your $100 product and they can send you a P.O.S. $25, used tablet that is 2" smaller than what you bought.

I'll never give these people my money again, and my advice to you is, you shouldn't either. I WANT MY MONEY BACK and I will select the "I want an attorney to contact me about my complaint" box if I do not hear back from them and be allowed to return the nextbook ares 8" and get my money back.??

They instructed me on how to return the phone and told me that the deductible of $99 would be refund in one to two billing cycles. In this age of technology, a few keyboard clicks should be all it takes to process a refund unless they are actually using a stagecoach and horses. The good news is that I persisted by calling AT&T, I did have to get past the CSA to a supervisor which took some insistence but he was able to resolve this issue for me. I am doing this review because I'm not satisfied with what's going on. I have only been with AT&T as a phone carrier since about 1993. I have had a great experience with them. My issue is with Asurion insurance. I truly believe that I'm being sent phones with defects. I purchased a LG Optimus Pro G phone through AT&T in Feb. of 2014 and entered under a 2 year contract. My original contract expired years ago but I still stayed with AT&T. However, since I was doing an upgrade after having my phone for years I did enter a contract that got me the LG at a cheaper price. This phone had to be replaced through Asurion around May the same year because of manufacturing defect. It was searching for a lost phone that was not lost causing outrageous charges on my phone bill.

I was told that it would have to be replaced with the Samsung Galaxy S6... which is smaller. I got it same month claim entered. This year in Feb. the phone almost caught on fire. I called and explained to the agent that took the call that I smelled smoke in my bedroom and that I searched my wall outlets to see where it was coming from. I found the source once I picked up the Samsung Galaxy S6. It was smoking from the inside out. The rep took my statement. Not once did I tell him that it was dropped. However, on September 17, the Samsung Galaxy replacement phone not even a year old is no longer taking a charge. The port is too loose and it has some kind of surge that appears on the screen when you plug in the charger.

I call Asurion and explain this only to be told that I have two claims filed in one calendar year so I will have to pay $168.00 for replacement of phone and my insurance will be dropped for at least a year or can get back sooner if I upgrade to new phone. I told them that I don't feel that I should be penalized for defected phones. That my phones aren't even lasting the length of a two year contract. What is very disturbing is I called today Sept. 26 to try and fight the termination of my insurance because the phone in Feb. was sent back not due to falling, water or crack screen but smoking from inside out. One rep talked to her supervisor and informed me that I was right that I will be reimbursed for the Feb. 5, 2016 claim and insurance reinstated. She was hanging on phone to tell the other party herself what was going on but we got disconnected. She had my info. Never called back.

I talked to about 5 people trying to complete the process. They claim that she never entered the info. One rep even told me that I had 60 days to call about the replacement. I told her it not the replacement it's the wrong labeling of the return phone in Feb. 2016. That because that replacement is having issues like 7 months later is how I'm learning about the wrong code associated to the Feb. phone that almost caught fire. I told her that I was told it would be corrected only for her to say too much time had passed. We got disconnected. I bet she hung up.

The next person told me that the person that took my claim in Feb put down that my phone wad dropped and now smoking from the fall. I'm 56 years old and this literally made me cry. I asked her "Don't you record calls. This needs to be looked into because the consumer has no control of what a representative is documenting and your recorded call line should be able to prove that he lied." She said can't go back that far and I asked "What's the use in recordings if you can't go back to them to protect the consumer?" I told her how many more people have this individual falsified claims on?

I told them the many that I had to talk to that my phones should not be lasting 6 to 7 months. That even the one on September 17 is only a little over 7 months and won't take a charge plus has this surge that appears on screen when charger is plugged in. I even told them that the replacement for the Samsung Galaxy S6 with loose port issues... also has this surge once you plug in the charger. It's a Samsung Galaxy S7. I just got it on the 20 of September 2016. They explained that the surge that I see on my screen each time I plug in charger is showing that it is working. Told her that I've had cell phones and never seen such.

I even told her that the Samsung Galaxy S6 with the loose port I've had for 7 months and no surge on my screen when I plug it in until September 27 when the port wouldn't take a charge from charger. That's when the surges started on that one. I don't believe my phone should have this white and blue rainbow surge appear every time I plug in my charger. I believe it's something wrong with this replacement too that I just received on September 20, 2016.

They telling me that I filed two claims in one calendar year and I'm telling them that I believe I'm being sent phones with defects. They should have a way of looking into recorded calls on their end and finding out if their reps are making false claims of what the consumer tells them. I'm totally not happy to learn on today Sept. 26 that the rep that I talked to in Feb. 2016 lied and said that my smoking phone was dropped when it wasn't... Something is wrong when you have these many complaints.

Received a e-mail, the replacement phone will be sent the next business day and it was. What a great company and service I thought.

However, when I attempted to activate the new phone was told the phone issued has been "black listed" meaning stolen. I called Asurion, the customer service rep apologized and transferred to a service tech. Was then informed the phone will be released from the list and able to activate within 24 to 48 hours. It has been a week and the phone is still unable to activate being it is sill on the list as stolen equipment.

I am not against accepting a refurbished phone, but not a phone where the FCC# is listed as stolen for more reasons than just security. However, security is a major concern beyond basic moral reasons. Im confused how a "insurance" company can pass off stolen equipment for payment. I learned today from my service provider, I am not the only customer who has been issued a phone from Asurion which was "Black Listed".

I have no idea what to do at this point but to return the stolen phone and request a refund. How can this even be legal? Well, actually you may never even be able to activate it. Therefore, save your deductible. I do not recommend this service.

Sprint is the company I am currently subscribed to and the coverage was $13 per billing cycle. June 6, 2016 (23 months into my 24 month agreement) dropped and cracked my screen. I filed a claim for a replacement phone through Asurion online claim filing system phoneclaim.com. A day later I hear news of a new Samsung Note 7. So now I'm contacting Asurion by phone to cancel my request because a newer Samsung Note 7 is being released in August 2016 and my current phone could still be used. Asurion representatives informed me the phone was sent already but once I receive the device it was OK to return and expect a refund in around 5 business days.

After returning the device, tracking it, and patiently waiting I received nothing for a month. So I decided to call Sprint to check the status but was told to call Asurion. As I did I explained the line of events and wanted to check the status. They confirmed that the original phone was received June 2016 and since I called they were now going to file a claim and I should see a refund in a week. Week goes by nothing so I call Asurion again. Told them what happened and was told that I had to call Sprint about this issue. At this point I'm furious. It's now September 22, 2016 and I'm still given the runaround and no answers. They can't do this. I feel robbed and they refuse to do the right thing. That $150 didn't grow on trees and I don't have a million plus customers to rip off. On September 14th I filed my claim with Asurion. I was told I would receive my phone in 2 days. Then after 2 days, I checked my email because I hadn't received it. They were requesting either my ID OR my phone bill. That was fine. I faxed my ID, didn't hear about the process for a couple days, called and they told me to email my ID with additional information. I went to track my claim yesterday and it said I need a phone. I've been without a phone for a week now. If I wouldn't know what terrible customer service had I would have paid the extra 100 dollars and just got my screen fixed that day. I wouldn't recommend getting insurance through them. You only have to pay a ridiculously high deductible for insurance especially if you have an older phone, I luckily didn't, but I've already paid in triple my deductible.

My phone fell and cracked in January of 2016. I called Asurion and did my claim with them. They sent me out a phone and the first day I wasn't there to receive it. FedEx left a notice saying that they would return. The next day, I never got a notice on the door. When I contacted Asurion in regards to it they told me that someone had signed for the phone (mind you, I live alone and didn't sign for it) when I asked what to do next they then told me I needed to contact FedEx and get a copy of the signature. When I asked for my money back because at this point they had already charged me the $200 deductible they refused and wouldn't even send me a new phone.

Months went by, on and on arguing with them to send me a new phone. I even spoke with the corporate supervisor named Kendrick, who is very rude by the way and they would not help me. In May, they then sent me over to Sprint collections a bill of $545 for non-returned phone fee. So now they have charged me $200 for the deductible and $545 no return equipment and I have no phone to show for it but my same cracked phone that broke in January. These people are crooks and liars. August 24th, I went to the Sprint store immediately after breaking my phone. After filling out all of the paperwork, I watched the staff fax the claim to Asurion. I was told I would receive my new device within 2 days. Having received numerous excuses as to why my phone wasn't delivered, I returned to the store on August 29th. Sprint staff provided evidence that the original fax went through. They emailed me the information as well. I've jumped through every hoop Asurion put out there only to hear the response "we haven't received your paperwork." Repeatedly, I asked for an email address so I could forward them the affidavit I had already filed. Repeatedly, I've been told ASURION DOESN'T ACCEPT EMAILS!!! Faxes and snail mail they take, but anything that would prove they're an actual 21st century corporation or provide the consumer with evidence of Asurion's bad behavior or incompetence is unwelcome.

Because of their failure to fulfill my claim in a timely way, I've been forced to buy another phone and minutes to hold me over. Because, the temp phone has a different number and lacks my contacts, their delay has had a real financial impact. Additionally, because of the delay and the subsequent recall on the Note 7, my Note 5 (only a month old with features I loved) is no longer available. Despite their repeated failures, and inability to provide me with a phone the same size as the one I insured Asurion is still charging me a $200 deductible AND they informed me if I don't return the broken phone in 10 days I will be charged an additional $500. Let that sink in.

Asurion did eventually offer me a $50 gift card, but they seemed oblivious to the fact that $50 doesn't cover the month of service for which I paid despite not having a phone. It doesn't cover my temporary phone or the minutes I was forced to purchase. It doesn't cover the financial impact on my life. If I wasn't under a lease requiring the return of a Sprint phone in a couple months, I could have gone to Electronic Express and purchased an unlocked device nearly identical to the one I actually want for $179. Yes I priced them.

This begs the question, why are they claiming the value of my device is nearly $700. Why will I be fined $500 if the USPS loses the broken phone and why have I been wasting money on scam insurance? If Asurion actually wanted to fulfill its obligations wouldn't they have an available email address? BTW - the tone from their staff (especially in the "office of the CEO") Class action/mass filing anyone?

I broke my HTC one m9, called into Asurion and was told they did not have my phone in stock anymore, but nicely offered to upgrade me to the newer HTC 10. I would be charged $250 on my next bill. 24 hours Purolator drops me off a box with a used Nexus 5x in it. My phone was 64 gig, the Nexus was only a 16 gig. I immediately called to report the issue and was told they would send me out the HTC and to send back the Nexus. Monday I received a replacement. It was another used Nexus 5x, but this time it was bricked. Bootlooped until its battery died. I called Asurion again to ask what was going on, and to tell them that I couldn't send back the first Nexus they sent me because I needed a working phone.

I asked this agent to please just send me the phone they had offered, the HTC 10. At this point, with a very nasty attitude she told me I didn't have an HTC one m9, I had a 5x... after trying to explain that the 5x was a screw up on their part and getting nowhere I asked for a supervisor. I got this nice lady who informed me that even though they had repeatedly promised me the HTC 10 that they weren't going to honor that. I would need Bell to offer it to me. After informing her to check her notes she realized that I already had been cleared for it by Bell, but she still refused to send it to me. She kept ending the call claiming to be trying to figure out something for me, and called me back several times. Finally, hours from when I placed my original call, she calls back to say she'd found an m9 she could give me. It was on back order and would take a week, but I could keep the Nexus in the meantime.

It's now been a month. Still no phone. I've been charged, and paid for it, but no phone. I called a couple days ago to inquire what was going on, they told me that even though they promised me the phone in a week that they don't have any in stock and don't know when they will have any. The agent told me there is no guarantees on their end of when I could get my phone. No explanations or attempt to give me even a ballpark. I asked if I should expect to still be waiting in 3 months, 6 months, or a year even. He said it could be. Asked if I needed anything else and ended the call. I will never pay for their service again, and I'm cancelling the service I have on all the phones on my small business plan. I recommend strongly everyone else do the same. What a scam.

Well, after two months I've never seen an adjustment to my bill, only to call the company on Sunday to find out that they never processed the refund. I was assured that I would receive a refund and that it would be reflected in my AT&T bill within five working days. Guess what it hasn't happened! I decided to take to social media to complain about the problem. I was told once again that I would receive a refund and that they would expedite it. Guess what? I've heard that bullcrap before!

With all the number of people who have complained about this company, one would think that the company would want to get its act together. But no! They keep on making empty promises, and I would love to join a class action lawsuit against this company or start one up because of the gross negligence and blatant dishonesty. I have had to take money that I don't have to make sure that my phone stays on this month when this could have been covered by the refund that I was supposed to receive a long time ago! I'm going to be speaking with customer service once again tomorrow. I'm tired of empty promises and I'm tired of subpar service. I got the suggested insurance through Verizon, Asurion. My LG G4 stopped working back in July. I called Verizon, they asked if it had any water damage. Yes it did from 6 months ago. My phone just quit working that day. I was sent over to Asurion. I was sent a refurbished phone and had to pay $150. My friend's phone did the same thing the next week. She did not have water damage, she had to pay $350 to upgrade her phone. I did some research and found out that this is a known problem with these phones. Last Thursday the replacement phone just quit working for no reason. No water damage. I called Asurion, spoke with the manager Deanna. She asked me my information, told me that my phone would be mailed out right now and I would get it the next day.

I checked my email the next morning for tracking the package, there was nothing. I called Asurion, the computer tells me "to complete your order". At which point I was transferred over to another lady. She told me Deanna never processed it through. Also Deanna tried to send me a different model of my phone, that I did not request. This lady had to reprocess the order. They did not send it through until Friday night at 8 pm. It is now Monday morning and I am still without a phone.

I explained to them that I am on call 24 hours a day, I have 14 employees that need to be able to contact me at any time. I also have a small child and live in a rural community. So having a phone is essential to me functioning. This is a HUGE let down. I also feel taken advantage of by all parties involved. LG for making bad phones, Verizon for selling them knowing this, and Asurion for not following through and sending out the same bad product. I should get a whole new phone at no charge and my $150 back. It is not okay to take advantage of people.

This continued for 3 more weeks. I finally went to local AT&T store. They replaced my sim card & stated if this does not help, file a claim. Now 5 weeks later, I called Asurion to file claim & advised I must pay a $149.00 deductible (wow). I was also told that this was discounted, should have been $200. I received what I thought was my new phone in the mail today. I was never told when I purchased the insurance that I would get a used phone. It was implied I would get new. When I placed the claim with Asurion I was never told I would be getting a so called refurbished phone. I would have never known this if I had not looked at the really fine print on the sticker on the phone.

I reviewed the small print disclaimer on Asurion's brochure and it states: Claims may be fulfilled with New or At&T Certified -like -new equipment. I called AT&T and of course they say they have nothing to do with this insurance, I would have to call Asurion. I called Asurion to ask how they decide who gets a new phone and who would get a used phone? The lady could not answer. She would just say she does not have access to that information. No one could answer how many new phones were actually sent out. This is very deceptive, misleading and unfair disclosure. Asurion would give no answers. NOT RECOMMENDED!

I also know of 2 others who recently filed a claims for phones and thought they had received new phones as well. After further investigations, they too had Refurbished phones!!! I again would like to know how many customers actually received a New phone as it is implied on the brochure and who makes the decision on who gets a new phone? By the way, this is the first time ever I have made a claim for any phone with an insurance carrier. Very disappointed with AT&T and Asurion!!!

Phone broke, AT&T sent in claim, said two days. A week later, no phone. When I contacted Asurion, they advised claim was approved and ready, but they needed to confirm address and contact, but what they really wanted to confirm was the $199 deductible! After talking to two call takers and several "supervisors", I finally spoke with Lillian in the CEO Office of Customer Affairs. Lillian was no help and could not do anything about the "deductible", stating that nobody could, that is just their policy. She would not even speculate on what a wholesale phone should cost in "deductible" from an "insurance company" that I have been paying monthly premiums to. Charging the customer a "deductible" charge of more than the phone actually cost the company is NOT insurance.

After a long conversation in futility, I advised Lillian that I was recording the phone call and would like to send her a copy, but she went ballistic, demanding I stop recording. I advised her that her own recording instructed that "This phone call MAY be recorded" and I had told the last supervisor it was being recorded, plus I'm in Texas where it's legal to record calls. She responded with "that's for quality purposes" to which I responded "exactly". Needless to say, that did not bode well and she eventually hung up on me.

Bottom line, a deductible is fine, legal and even expected, but charging a $199 "deductible" for a phone that cost this company far less is simply robbery. Lillian's response to that comparison, "Well, it's America". Well Lillian, that is not the America or type of American company I want to deal with. After receiving my expensive replacement phone, I will cancel all my "insurance" with Asurion.

We all know the Asurion phone drill. Pay $10/month. Get a replacement phone for any reason (lost, broken, stolen, etc.) for a premium. So we pay $120/year + $199 for a replace iPhone 6 plus. This was for my college student son that lives 3 hours away. With that distance, we had ship the broken phone back to Asurion the day he activated the replacement or risk another $500 fee from Asurion. The broken phone was in the mail the same day. Upon activating his refurbished replacement, we came to find out the touchscreen did not work - at all. Multiple phone calls to Asurion Customer Service resulted in more frustration due to poor customer service, excessive background noise during the call, and the inability to work with us and the situation of him living away from home thus causing problems with shipping, timing, and mailing the return.

I decided to call AppleCare tech support. In a 5 minute call, they had all the information they needed to see him at an Apple Store near his university. Another 5 minutes inside the store, they verified the phone we received was recycled garbage (that was still under warranty). They immediately gave him a new 6 plus on the spot, activated it, and he was on his way back to campus with a brand new 6 plus... no other questions asked. THAT is how Customer Service should work. I immediately canceled the Asurion coverage we had on 3 other phones. I will never deal with them again.

This insurance company is HORRIBLE and completely tried to screw us over. A phone on our account had shorted out, leaving half of the screen staticky, blank, and unresponsive. The phone was not dropped, it was an internal shortage that just decided to happen. We made a claim through insurance, in which they would send us a phone for $200 more... when this phone was purchased no more than 2 months prior. They processed the request even though we tried to cancel in order to go through warranty for free, because it was an internal shortage, not our mistake.

We were told we could not cancel this request and the phone was shipped to us anyway with the charge of $200 going on our monthly phone bill. We were told to send the phone back, unopened, when we received it and to pay this amount and it would be credited back to us. We refused to pay when the phone would not be kept and they can simply override the charge and take it off our bill. We called to complain, and they told us it would be off on the next bill.

When it wasn't, we called again, they said it would take up to 3 months for the charge to be dismissed. When 3 months passed and it was still on the bill, our phone company threatened to suspend our services for this unpaid amount for a phone we don't even have in our possession. Our phone company called and Asurion told them we sent the wrong phone back... when it was the only phone in our possession at the time. So how could it be wrong? They are continuing to play games and we continue to call and complain. There is a different excuse every time and they are completely unprofessional.

I had my phone screen go black so I took it to the local AT&T store to have it checked out. They took it apart and tested it for moisture and looked at screen for cracks with nothing to be found. The salesman said it was clean and a warranty was going to be no problem. They ordered a new phone from Asurion which I got in two days and I then sent back the so called damaged phone for warranty. Two weeks later Asurion sends back the damaged phone and says "keep them both. We are not covering the damaged one and you owe for the replacement." I go back to AT&T store and tell them the news. The manager then says, "We will order you another new phone and when it comes send back the replacement one and we will file under insurance not warranty and your cost will be $149.00." They said, "Easy. It will be done." So now I have two new phones and my so called damaged one.

I at this point am little concerned so I call AT&T and and they say, "It's too late to send back the the replacement phone since it's past 10 days." We argue for 2 hours and finally agree to me paying $200.00 for the damaged phone and AT&T paying $200.00 for the other half since I have been a long standing customer. Then they say, "Put the 2nd new phone in the return box and ship back to Asurion and they will refund you the $149.00 if it's done in ten days." I shipped it in 2 days with postage receipt. I now get my next bill which should be the normal phone bill but it's not. The insurance claim hasn't been processed and I haven't heard a thing from Asurion and it's been sent over 30 days ago. I call AT&T again about the $149.00 and they check records and say it was received on the 4th of August. This is now the 31st of August and they call Asurion to see what is going on.

Asurion says "yes we have received it and intend to refund you the $149.00 but it will take 2 to 3 billing cycles to do it." That's 3 months for my credit to appear but if I don't get their phone back in 10 days they will not honor it. This is the absolute worst company that I have ever dealt with. They respond to not covering my so called damaged phone in less than 2 weeks but not a reply at all to the new one being sent back. They tell customers to get their device back in 10 days but their refund has to wait 2 to 3 months. I will never take insurance if the name Asurion is behind it. AT&T is not doing much better in my opinion and I am on the way out of there also.

I had several phones on Asurion's plans. I had one Galaxy s4 that was damaged and filed a claim. After much aggravation and time I finally got the claim approved. In the end they wanted $150.00 for a deductible. On top of that I have paid them $11.00/month for 33 months ($363.00) plus the $150.00 equals $513.00 to get a refurbished phone! On eBay right now I can buy the same phone with all of the accessories for approximately $150.00. So I basically paid $363.00 to get terrible customer service. What a fool I have been.

Insurance companies are supposed to alleviate the cost to the owner for damage or loss. This company ** me for a $200 deductible for a cracked screen. They are only going to replace the screen and give someone else the phone. So for the company to charge $200 and replace a $75 screen to sell the phone to someone else, this is not an insurance company. This is a scam of a company and a rip off. I can understand if they were giving you a brand new replacement device, but this is not the case, and half the time, they send you a defective device. You're better off going to best buy and buying a Squaretrade warranty. It's cheaper and much better coverage. Do not buy this insurance. If I could give it a fraction of a star, I would. The customer service reps are completely rude and disrespectful. They can't even give you a way to track your replacement device.

Disappointment with Asurion when a replacement phone gets rerouted back to them because they did not send it to the correct address. Anyone can make a mistake but when no compensation is made they are not a good business to do business with. 10 days is too long to wait for a phone that they say will be there in 48 hours then again send another one to the wrong address. No phone again. Personally is fake when they say "I'M SORRY" but will do nothing about it.

This time around, when filing a claim, I received notice that this was the second claim for this line in 12 months. I called them and they told me that my last claim was on September 7 last year, but that was for an iPhone 6s and this time was for an iPhone 6S Plus. Now since it's the second claim they are completely taking my insurance off of this line. I asked if they could do anything about it, because I am only a few days from the 7th of September. They told me I could cancel the claim but that would take a couple months to be refunded and even then I would have a larger deductible because it would count as another claim (a third claim). No consideration at all!

I dropped my phone in the washer on accident [only 2 minutes at MOST]. Obviously it started glitching and water got in the phone. I went in the AT&T store and they gave me a pamphlet that said I had to do this all online now [waste of time, they used to do it in stores]. I was doing it online, filing my claim and they tried giving me a 32GB black Note 5 when I have a 64GB gold Note 5. The color doesn't matter to me but the GB sure do. I had to call someone from this place and they told me that I had to take a picture of my phone and proof of my identity to get a new phone. How do they not know what phone I have if I pay for it monthly?

My mom ended up calling someone and we ended up back at the store. The lady at the AT&T store helped us greatly and sent in the claim. This all happened Monday and here we are on Wednesday and my phone comes in. GUESS WHAT. It's not even the right phone!! Of course it's not!! I leave for college tomorrow and this was all supposed to be fixed today! We were on the phone with multiple people and figured it out in store but this still happened! They are still making us pay for this inconvenience and I no doubt will probably have to write another review when I get my phone back because all I see on here is people hating their cellphones and that they are all garbage. AT&T should never have signed with this place and just continued helping people in their stores.

Updated 8/26/2016: Writing a review AGAIN because my phone was promised to be with me on Wednesday and of course it wasn't. They sent me the entirely wrong phone even though my mother and I called multiple people to make sure they would get the right one. NOW a new phone was promised to me today (Friday) and of course it's not here. I am a fulltime college student and I need a new phone to be able to contact people in case of emergencies. I don't recommend this company to ANYONE. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Yesterday I added insurance to our phones due to the open enrollment at Verizon and today (with only $100 to go to pay off the phone with the edge plan) my phone of course falls out of the diaper bag and on the driveway, shattering the screen regardless of my case and tempered glass screen protector. Just my luck! I get online to file a claim and get sent off to Asurion's website. While working through the steps, it cuts me off saying I had to call their customer support. So I hop on the phone and call and that's where it went downhill. The customer service representative told me that since I didn't use the phone (call/text) since I added the insurance, I was unable to file the claim.

Yet, being a wife, mother, full-time student and living 1000 miles from our closest relatives, anyone having even one of those in common would know it's virtually impossible to go even an hour without making a phone call or text message. I even offered to pull up my activity off of the Verizon website and email it to them and the representative was completely unhelpful. She said that no activity showed up on her end. My biggest beef is if you are going to have a policy like this then you'd better have the software to be able to back it up. I was using my phone all morning and yet your "records" say otherwise, ya ok. Luckily for me I found a place in town where I can get it fixed for half the price of Asurion's "deductible". Your loss.

So on 20-Aug-2016 I decided to see if my insurance "Asurion" covered iPhone 6 loose charging port. Went on their website, started filling out their form, and I discovered that I had a claim that had been opened up sometime in the beginning of May. I discovered through their site that the item had shipped to an area two hours from me so I tried to get a hold of Asurion to see what claim I had opened and I was in a Verizon store soon after 9:30 yesterday morning... Short story was that, Verizon I was able to get them on the phone for me.

My understanding yesterday morning was that someone had received a phone from under my account using my insurance... The guy from Asurion said something about something suspicious showing so they deactivated that phone. So yesterday I went on Asurion Facebook page and questioned why or how someone could open a claim under my account when I never had!!! So yesterday evening I received a call after private messaged them and I asked the guy if he could send an email showing that I had talked to him and I also asked him why I was never notified about opening a claim up.

Lo and behold he said in the email that in 22-June-2016 an Eye on Fraud report on behalf of the claim filed in May 2016, which the claim was filed by someone else with a different address. Now why did they sit on this information? And if I hadn't started a inquiry to see if my insurance would cover the loose charging port I would still be in the dark... Oh by the way Verizon is covering the replacement of the phone through the phone's warranty.

I was told that on 8/17/2016 at 7pm Eastern Time I would receive my replacement a LG K10 phone. That never happen. Once I had their okay for repairs I carried the mower to their assigned repair facility who proceeded to do repairs under the assumption Asurion would pay for the repairs. Asurion then contacted me to say they wouldn't cover the repairs. The problem was a faulty carburetor which Asurion said was the fault of bad gas and thus not covered. This is an obvious ploy to not pay for needed repairs. I paid out of my own pocket for repairs they should have covered.

I am absolutely shocked at this company -- So, I had dropped my phone (iPhone 6) and the bottom of the screen cracked. I saw that if I filed a claim, there would be a $100 deductible. I figured Apple charges $100 for a screen replacement, so I'd be getting a better deal with a new phone for the same price. Also I pay for premium insurance with AT&T, so I thought I might as well make use of its features. I called up AT&T and they redirected me to Asurion. I filed a claim online which only took a matter of five minutes, so I'm thinking "this is too good to be true" (spoiler, it is).

Today, three days after filing the claim, I received the phone. After opening up the package, I saw that the apple logo on the back was sticking out a little bit. I've gotten refurbished phones before, and I know that the quality should be the same as a brand new phone, so I thought I would go to my local AT&T store to see if they could do something about it, where they told me to call up Asurion since they are separate from each other. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of getting transferred on the phone multiple times and waiting for a new phone all over again. So now I just wanted to get a case for the phone, and I went to Apple to buy it. One of the apple workers takes a glance at the phone and says "That's not an iPhone...", which I guess I sort of knew because of the apple on the back (also the color was a different shade of gold) but I was in denial about it.

I came home and called Asurion immediately. I told them straight up "you gave a me a bootleg phone" and which the guy said "I've never heard of that happening" (lol ok). After being transferred a few times, I was told I would I get a new one in the mail in three days, and I was assured it would be "a real one". So I will give you an update. I will most likely take it back to Apple and have them confirm. WARNING do not send them your REAL phone after you receive the fake one (no matter how damaged your phone is, it is still worth more than the fake one they send).

Asurion hung up on me four times when making a claim including two times with Verizon on the line!! I've had Asurion mobile insurance for years in my name for my Daughter's phone. She drops her IPHONE 6S two weeks ago and it stops working. I'm out of the country so she switches service at Verizon to an old IPHONE 5 she still has. I get back and today tried to file a claim with Asurion. I'm told the insurance dropped when she activated the 5S. I say okay but the insurance for the 6S WAS ACTIVE (verified by Verizon) when the 6 stopped working and I'm making a claim after the fact. I get passed around to several unhelpful people who have no interest in processing a claim then they hang up.

I try again. Same result. I waste another 30 minutes, get nowhere, and they hang up on me in mid-sentence! I call Verizon and they call Asurion with me. Verizon confirm to Asurion the 6S phone was covered by protection at the time of the incident and I'm making a claim after the fact. We get passed around for 30 minutes and they hang up again! We try again. Same result - passed around, nobody is interested and they put us on hold with their disgustingly horrible Muzak and proceed to hang up!!

The Verizon lady was appalled and confided this happens a lot with Asurion. So she spoke to her supervisor and Verizon agreed to honour the warranty and is sending my Daughter a new phone. It has the same deductible of $149 but who cares. I need my Daughter - who is at college - to have a good working phone. Asurion obviously have a business mantra of simply "Let's wear the person down so they go away." Judging by my experience they also instruct their zombies to hang up if you challenge them to use common sense and think outside of the box. THANK YOU VERIZON!! ASURION?? Well you know what you can do.

So a year later husband's phone was run over. Filed a claim for replacement and paid $99 deductible. Received "new" phone next day. 3 weeks later hubby drops his phone (in a protective case) from less than 2 feet, and the screen cracked. I chose not to have screen repaired so as not to void the warranty. A week later phone just quit picking up signal. Wifi worked, everything else worked, but no calls or anything through the network.

I called and told them the phone was defective, a normal new phone can withstand normal drops, wear, & tear without problem. The rep said they would replace it for free if it wasn't damaged, but since the screen was broken it would be replaced via a regular claim, which would be the maximum replacement during the time frame so plan would be cancelled. Replacement also cost $199 this time.

I am now using this phone while my husband uses my original non-replaced phone since I tend to be in less situations where the phone may be damaged. I've had it for 1 month now, and it's not working like it should, constantly dropping signal. But it can't be replaced again because it was maxed out. I think the phones they send for replacement are shoddy at best, and the company is a huge scam! So far I've paid over $1,200 between insurance plan, original phone price, and deductibles, and I'm left with a piece of junk!!! One day, my hubby laid a heavy book on the closed cover causing the screen to develop dead pixels. We had Asurion's coverage thru my stepson, who worked in their call center. He said to send it in and they would most likely replace the screen or replace the computer with something comparable. All we had to do was pay $50 and send it in. Cool, I thought I could be getting a new laptop for $50. Wrong. Instead of having my laptop repaired, they did replace it... with a $200 refurbished HP that is NOT EVEN CLOSE to comparable to the Acer. So why didn't you send it back, you may ask? The day after the "new" laptop arrived, I received an Acer hard drive in the mail. They had already dismantled my computer.

I will never, ever do business with these crooks again. I would have been much better off taking my laptop into a local repair shop and having the screen replaced. They are supposed to be offering extended warranty coverage for when life happens and we break our devices, but they don't always cover "every day accidents" like when my neighbor's tv was broken by a thrown ashtray and they said they don't cover THOSE kinds of accidents. When I filed the claim over the phone, I was told over the phone that the color I originally have (black) is out of stock and the only ones they have in stock is the white phones. This is not the case!

On Tuesday I get an email (11:12 am PST) that my claim is complete and the phone is ready to ship and I would have a tracking number within 12 hours. On Wednesday (2:08 pm PST) more than 12 hours from the original email I get another email telling me that my phone now is on back order and it will take from 3 to 7 days for the phone to be available! I contacted them over the phone, and I was told that it may take up to three days to get the back order. How is this possible when the day before it was ready to be shipped! At this point, I have no choice but to wait, to get my $200 replacement, which, by the way, I am paying through my Sprint account! I went online today, to find out the status and as per today from the chat I had with one of their reps (Queene) they have no idea when would they get the back order. No one has a legit answer and without a phone I am subjected to chat with someone online and they are very clueless.

We should be allowed to file the claim directly through Sprint since they are the ones charging us monthly for the protection plan and have our replacement phones coming from the store directly. That way there is no waiting, and we can activate the replacement right at the store. I stated to them that I am losing business and money because of them and all I got is another phone number to call! Let Sprint deal with this company and have them file the claim directly, since we are leasing the phones with them not Asurion! The website, emails, and conversations/chat are full of lies and false advertisement! They are ripping off thousands of consumers on a daily basis. $8 a month to insure anything between $100 -$900. 24hr delay to respond. Then response that requires unrealized documentation. So I went back to the Apple Store and asked them whether it genuinely was good and working and that it would not give me problems in the future. They were stumped, checked and said it was good, no problems.

Being an honest citizen I called Asurion, told them about my problem and I was told I could ship the box (unopened as it luckily was) back. Which I did. Now they refuse to refund the $99 money charge saying it was not within 7 days (I spoke to another representative. She said within 10 days.) and the customer service representative I had spoken to at the time of the problem had said within 2 weeks. I wish I had just kept both phones.

Someone stole my iPhone 6 May 1st. I tried to locate but ended up filing a claim May 3rd to replace my iPhone 6. I paid $199 for a replacement phone... which I figure is refurbished but has been working fine... so lo and behold my original phone was mailed back to me approximately 7 weeks after reported stolen. Perfectly good phone... I had paid $600 for it... so I took it in to see if I could get it hooked up for my disabled brother and the Verizon people called Asurion and Asurion says that once a phone is reported lost or stolen it can NEVER be connected again or used. SO that means that I have a $600 PAPERWEIGHT.

This is absolutely ridiculous that I paid for it and I can never use it again. What a bunch of crap... spent the last hour and a half being sent between Verizon and Asurion and the phone cannot be turned on again... (Until Asurion get it in their grubby little paws and then they will send it out to someone as a refurbished phone.) So now I have paid $800 for a refurbished phone. This is so frustrating.

My experience was terrible with Asurion (Sprint)!! My son got his phone wet and I began a claim that included verifying my address. My address that they had on record was inaccurate and I updated it via the conversation we had during the call. They stated they would overnight a phone and I would pay the 200.00 deductible. The next day as I was waiting for phone, I checked tracking online and the tracking said the phone had been delivered. I checked outside and no phone.

I called Asurion and they said they had FedEx deliver it to the old address. Frustrated, I asked why and no plausible answer was given. I needed that phone that day and the Asurion operator said there was nothing they could do other than overnight another so I said fine. The next day. No phone. I called again and the new operator said the person I spoke to the previous day had no authority to say that another phone would be overnighted and that my claim was now under "review".

This was now a Friday and the earliest I could receive a phone would be Monday. I asked what they were willing to do to accommodate the inconvenience they had now subjected me to and they asked what I wanted. I said a phone in my hand, they said no. I said my deductible refunded, they said no. I again asked what they were willing to do and they said they would apologize. It is now Tuesday and I still have no phone. After calling today, they said "it SHOULD be there tomorrow". I have no faith in their words and will never use their business again and it is my recommendation that no one else does either. There are other competent companies available. Please research and use one of the others because Asurion SUCKS!

I have been with AT&T for over 10 years. I have had device protection with throughout this time, and pay monthly for this protection on the 5 phones on the account... This week my daughter dropped her Samsung Note 5 64GB (SM-920A) phone, cracked the screen and camera. Called AT&T, they verified I had protection and passed me to Asurion!

After speaking to the first representative she informed me that the phone listed was a 32gb version and not the 64gb version that I actually have. She said to correct this I needed to speak to AT&T and get them to correct this in the system, said she was transferring me back then promptly disconnected me! AWESOME!

Called AT&T again, explained the situation, went through the security check again. DOB, Password, last 4 of SSN etc. This report told me that the device listed is the correct one! She then called Asurion, confirmed the device I had was in fact the 64GB version, and told me that the Asurion rep would complete my claim...

So, now the Asurion rep verifies my identity. DOB again, Password again, last 4 of SSN again, and now verify some information from my credit report (associated addresses etc.)! "Thank you sir, your identity has been verified", then she proceeds to inform me that I now need to submit an affidavit of identification, a copy of my license, a copy of my AT&T phone bill, proof of purchase of the phone, and pay $99! Now, having already confirmed my identity, I have to provide hard copies, and after AT&T verified the phone, etc. etc. And do all the leg work proving what has already been proven, which begs the question, why bother verifying my identity? At the point, I was more than upset, asked to speak to a supervisor, low and behold, hard copies were no longer needed! This seems like an insurance company of old, the type who like collecting premiums, but doesn't like paying claims, or makes claims extremely difficult!

I used the company to get a replacement on my LG Nexus 5, which had a microphone that died. I love the Nexus 5 and was hoping to get the same model, but ended up receiving a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S5. I won't give it one star because there were some positives and I did read the fine print, but the service was not worth the price it in my experience. The good: The claim process was quick and easy. Just fill out the form and away you go. The package I received arrived the next business day. The refurbished phone was in pretty good condition. I couldn't even tell it was refurbished until I opened the back and saw the sticker.

The bad: The cost of the replacement phone is too high. I paid $8/month CAD for the warranty and was charged a $120 CAD deductible for the phone. So after 12 months of warranty, the phone cost me $216 CAD (12x8+120). I can get a new comparable phone for less than this. I had to return my old phone. Despite the fact that I overpaid for the replacement phone, I now have to send Asurion my old phone. The microphone on it doesn't work, but the rest of it is fine and I can still give it to my kids to play games, etc. This doesn't seem to apply to lost phones. I wish the phone I got was the same model. The reason I chose the Nexus 5 was because it doesn't include the bloat-ware that other manufacturers include in the Android OS. The Samsung S5 I got is horrible for this.

Soon as I received the phone and uploaded iCloud and all of my data, I texted my brother to say "Hey I have my phone back, yay!" He texted back "Who is this and I'm blocking you." "Say what? It's your sister!" After quite a while he still didn't believe me. My phone number evidently was popping up on his side as an area code of 214 not 561...

I then became my own detective and called Apple and Sprint. Apple suggested it was a carrier issue. So on to Sprint. The automated voice asked if I were calling about my 214 number. I said yes then it said "This phone has been requested lost or stolen," then disconnected me. AH! Onto something. I called again and got an agent and explained the situation. Evidently, I found out my "new" phone Asurion sent me was that of an A. ** 214 Area code. As it stands, I'll need to wait until Tuesday for another phone to be sent from Asurion. Wow. So fun. What a disaster. Bottom line, Asurion getting a hold of a LOST & STOLEN phone and sending out as a refurbished phone to Sprint customers ain't right! So annoying.

About a week ago I was having problems with my Galaxy S6 which I bought about a month ago. I tried to soft reset it and it worked but the system went back out again after about 3 days. So I went to MetroPCS and asked what I should do and she stated that 3 others prior to me came in with the same issue and I needed to contact Samsung and get it fixed or a new phone since it was a factory issue. Called Samsung and she could not reset it and I had to send it to them. Well she told me it would cost 166.84 but it would take 2-3 business days to get there, 3-5 days to fix it at the least, and 2-5 business days to send it back. So I'm looking at 2-3 weeks w/o a phone so that was a no!

Then my other option was to file a claim and pay the 200 and get a phone asap which I did not really want to do because I wanted to save some money. So I did it and paid the $200 and about 2 days ago I was speaking to my co-worker and she said "oh this company is terrible and they sent out refurbished phones...this and that." So I immediately freaked out. By this time I had already paid the $200. So I look on this site at the reviews and they are TERRIBLE! Just awful. So I'm like just great. I'm gonna have a bad phone and issues. So by this time I'm like I need to switch companies just in case something happens I'm fine.

So I look up T-Mobile and they use this company to lol. So I'm like great. So then I'm like I just have to wing it and see what I get. Phone came yesterday and it was everything! Brand new S6. Everything. At this point in time I had a very good experience. I sent my old phone back and now I'm enjoying my new phone! So out of all the bad reviews lol my experience was really good!

I don't even know where to begin when talking about the level of dissatisfaction I have encountered with both this company as well as my service provider, Metro PCS. Please take this as a "BUYER BEWARE" notice, because as you can see on this site there are numerous problems with this company. Let me start by describing the problem with my original phone. I purchased a brand new Samsung Galaxy S5 for a good chunk of cash about two years ago from Metro PCS. Let me add that I decided to pay extra for insurance every month, and I was told by the Metro manager that with this insurance, I could get a brand new replacement phone - nothing REFURBISHED.

Well, since then, the software was just starting to run very slow and the phone had a bit of damage - a crack in the screen and some wear and tear around the edges. So I decided that I might as well use the insurance that I'm paying extra for, so I followed through with the claim process on Asurion. That wasn't a problem. What was the problem was receiving a refurbished phone that had damage. The audio jack seems to have some issues because when I plugged in my headphones, there were instant static noises. I know it's not my headphones because I've tried my headphones on other devices, and they work perfectly. I've turned the phone off and on again, and it did not work.

Another issue that I had was with the charger they sent - when charging my phone, I heard a soft, buzzing, static noise, and I was very concerned. My final issue that I fixed by myself was that despite being with Metro, I was immediately taken to T Mobile when I called. Anyways, the first time I called to inquire about these issues, I was basically told that I had to fix these problems by myself and on my own time - despite paying that insurance and the $200 to get what I found out today is a refurbished phone. I am constantly being told by Asurion that they do not guarantee a new phone, but when I got the phone from Metro I was clearly told I'd get a new one.

I just spoke to the manager and he has clarified this. It is not good on Metro's part for not telling their customers about the phones possibly being refurbished. And Asurion is even worse for letting this happen. Because with those $200, you might as well be buying a new phone! I've called Asurion at least 4 times today and it's all been a game. The employees there know the company is in hot water and all they are doing us is feeding us with garbage.

I've emailed them as well but I doubt that will get me anywhere. They offered to send another phone but how do I know it's not refurbished? They don't even know. I dont want to take any other chances, I just want my working phone. Don't waste your money here, and buy a new phone somewhere else. Finally, be aware that if you're paying insurance, at Asurion you have a great chance at getting a refurbished phone. Just buy a new phone because you could probably get it brand new and for a cheaper price.

However, the next time my screen cracked, I had to pay another $200 deductible but Asurion says they "do not cover" physical damage. What the heck is the point of paying for this insurance then? Furthermore, when I ordered my replacement and paid another $200, I was told that my phone is on backorder and it will be 5-7 days until I receive it.

It has now been 7 days and my phone has not even shipped yet. I expected to receive some kind of notice letting me know it would be longer than expected but have not received anything. I contacted Asurion and they said the average wait for backordered phones is 7-10 days. This is completely unacceptable. These major phone carriers need to realize that this company is making them look bad and drop their services all together. False advertisement and less than reliable customer service should not be tolerated when a customer is paying a premium.

Misleading business practices and defective equipment. I purchased cellular phone insurance through Verizon Wireless and carried it for almost two years without having to use it. When my phone broke, I contacted Verizon and was informed that my insurance was owned by Asurion. I contacted Asurion and they promised to send me a new phone, after paying a $199 deductible. This was the first I had been told about the deductible, and I had no option but to accept it because I needed a new phone. When the new phone arrived, it was clear it was a refurbished phone, not a new one as I was lead to believe I would receive. Moreover, the phone did not work properly. A quick internet search revealed that Asurion has shipped many many defective phones to various customers. I called them again and they sent a second phone promptly. Again, this phone did not work.

I contacted Verizon and they tried to fix the phone but they were unable to and told me I needed to go back to Asurion (for a third time). However, when I tried to contact Asurion, I called the customer service number, and they asked for my cell phone number (as they did the first two times). Only difference is I get a message stating "my number is not recognized, call back later". It appeared to me that they have actively blocked my cell phone number. Their equipment comes with a one-year warranty so I was entitled to a replacement but I could not get one from them. I ended up giving up on the insurance, I went to Verizon and purchased a new phone (out of pocket completely) and w/out this dubious insurance.

Asurion now has all of my monthly payments ($11/month for approximately 20 months) plus my $199 deductible and has still not provided me with a working product. This company is running a scam. If you review the posts online you will see that almost all the complaints are of a similar nature. They are preying on people signing up for cell phone insurance, and then not providing the service that they promise. It shouldn't take three or more tries to get a working phone from them. If I use my car insurance, the car is fixed by the mechanic. I don't need to go back an additional two times to have a working car. This is completely a theft from the consumer.

I purchased a washer and dryer from Home Depot. Apparently Home Depot sells dryers without a time dry, but it is on the display of the dryer showing it's available for use. They also have protection plans with small fine print and do not give you any paperwork about it or inform you of the common problems other people are having with the protection plan. They also install the washer and dryer knowing it is against the protection plan to store anywhere without A/C. So when the protection plan kicks in after the one-year warranty. You are no longer covered. Then you're stuck with a broken washer or dryer and a protection plan that you paid for. Apparently the fine print indicates that if you do not have your appliances in a controlled environment, you are not covered.

I live in Florida where most of washers and dryers go on an outside patio inside a locked storage room or in a car garage. The protection plan does not cover that nor do they inform you that it has to be stored inside your home with an air-conditioner. Yet Whirlpool covers outside storage with the one-year warranty and extended warranty as long as your appliances are not showing any rust. Understandable! My appliances still look brand-new after two years in my outside storage. If I had known I would not be covered, I could have bought Whirlpool's extended warranty.

Home Depot and Asurion are together on scamming customers. I have called and emailed over and over to both companies and they will not do anything about it. I will be contacting an attorney for a class action suit because I am not the only one this is happening to. Email me ** if this happened to you with any products. Asurion phone protection provided through Verizon Wireless. My Verizon bill statement reads Wireless Phone Protection. Today I learned, as it was pointed out to me by an Asurion Supervisor by the name of Volitra - sorry if I butchered the name - "My "PHONE" IS NOT protected" is my LINE. So, the technicality in this terminology is the following scenario: if you reach the number of claims by their terms and conditions they drop you from this so called phone protection insurance and you will need to start all over again BUT only if you buy a BRAND NEW PHONE you will qualify. After Asurion drops you, it will not allow you to continue to protect your phone on your existing line - only if it is a brand new phone! So, although I purchase protection for my phone, I ended up purchasing protection for my LINE.

OK... When is your phone that needs protection the actual device, in case of water damage, or stolen, or broken, or dropped, can I drop my line, break my line? Can someone physically take and steal my wireless line? No!! The verbiage isn't clear. PHONE PROTECTION SHOULD BE PHONE PROTECTION. Very disappointing. I hope this helps anyone looking for phone protection. LOL. Very disappointed - feeling like I've been had customer.

I cancelled this service because my son had previously filed a claim (for a brand new phone) and I paid the $50 deductible (now I know that I could have fixed the phone for not much more than the $50). I was then sent a replacement phone. Unbeknownst to me, they sent a refurbished phone. Unfortunately, my son several months later had another issue with his phone. When he went to file a phone, he was informed it would be $100 or $150 (can't remember now) and on top of that they threatened to cancel the coverage (I have been paying on that insurance nearly 20+ years).

We decided to get it fixed locally. We were quoted $65 to repair phone but once they went to fix phone and determined it would cost $125. I was like, they sent me a refurbished phone and because of that I have to pay almost double. Well guess what Asurion, you don't have to cancel me but I cancel you not only for my son's phones but all 4 phone lines that I have coverage. You know what's interesting, on this website they are rated only 1 star but when I went to their website, they were rated 5 stars. What a scam! Well, no more money to you. I'm just sorry I allowed you to scam so much money from me for YEARS!!!

My iPhone 6 plus got water damaged. I connected my old iPhone 4. When Verizon told me I would have to go through Asurion, that's what I did. Over the whole process it took 5 claims for them to get it right because my original iPhone 6 plus wasn't listed on my verizon account because it was damaged and another phone was connected! Obviously! When I told Asurion to reach out to verizon to confirm it was indeed an iPhone 6 plus they said "we can't do that. You will need to fill out another affidavit!!!"

At this point this is the 5th phone conversation I've had with them, each conversation taking 45 minutes to complete because they need to ask you the same questions and don't keep a record of any of it. I own a business. It is not easy for me to spend 45 minutes on the phone answering questions especially 5 different times. Their customer service is horrific and I too was told my deductible was like car insurance. It's a load of BS. They need to make their employees more aware of rules. Also a heads up, make sure you put the exact date of when your phone was damaged on the affidavit or they will deny you. The worst worst worst company I have ever dealt with BY FAR!! Verizon should totally offer alternate insurance companies.

I called Asurion immediately and spoke to someone at length and was told I would receive an email within the hour with instructions. No email arrived. Called back and they did not know anything about an email and told me to file a claim online and they would respond within 24 hours. I did that. I checked in 24 hours and they said it would be another 24 hours till they really responded and what the online information said was wrong and so on. Eventually I read more reviews and figured out the outfit was unreliable and went to the store and bought a new phone and chalked up my experience as a waste of time and money.

Although I could hear the alarm, hear receiving phone calls and able to power on and off, I was not able to utilize the phone. I trouble-shooted by restarting the phone and even removed the battery. The screen remained blank. I became frustrated being that I need my phone for receiving and returning business calls. The Verizon center was closed by the time I came home. I called Verizon who quickly and unknowing forwarded me to Asurion. A man name Patrick seemed confused and spent over an hour trying to assist but was not able to help. He claimed I needed a replacement. He prompted me to a screen for deductibles and stated that I had to pay $149.00 for the replacement since my phone had a crack.

I informed him that the phone was working fine and I called because the phone screen was blank. He said he could not help. I asked for his Supervisor. I was placed on hold for a while twice. A man by the name of Andrew answered. He refused to state clearly who he was, refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor, refused to give me the name of his supervisor, refused to give me the address of the complaint department and refused to give me a phone number to follow up with a complaint division. I stated "you are refusing to help or give me the information that I am requesting." He said "that's right and his is the highest you can get". Andrew hung up the phone. I googled this company and was shock to see the number of complaints. My problem was not resolved and I was refused to speak with a supervisor or corporate. This needs an investigation. I believe that their goal was not to help but to rob me of money.

They charge you 7-10 dollars a month for as long as you have the insurance. Even if you have had the phone for years. The price never goes down. They make you pay a huge deductible (200.00) when the value of your phone may only be 239.00 and tell you that your phone cost 650.00. I stated that is what I paid for it almost two years ago. Are you telling me that is the value of it now??? He said, to think of it like car insurance...when you had to file, you had to pay a deductible.

Not like car insurance AT ALL. The insurance payment does not go down with the value of the phone. The deductible does not go down. HOWEVER, the value of the phone does!!! My trade in value after I pay a 200 deductible will only be about 239.00 on a phone that I paid 650 dollars for almost 2 years ago and they are telling me that my insurance is covering that amount??? Now with iPhone forever I wait to trade those phone in for the iPhone 7. Out no money, had Sprint break up the 200 in payments. I don't see what the issue is for most. Why are you paying the 13 every month when you can report a lost one day after adding the insurance? They sent me a nice refurbished iPhone 6S Plus 64 gb space grey. If any good exists in this world at all, Asurion will be out of business quickly. They assist cell phone carriers in the raping of consumers on a daily basis. We all need mobile phones so we just bend over and take the Asurion treatment over and over and over again. You pay for device insurance every single month. Right? It is at minimum a $5 addition to your cell phone bill every single time. But wait! That adds up to NOTHING. Because Asurion still wants a $150 deductible to fill your claim. And a deductible in any other line of insurance means that if you have another problem within a certain timeframe, they meet the cost and pay for it because you have already paid your dues.

But oh, no. Not with Asurion. You're paying that every single time or they do nothing, regardless of the timeframe. Or they refuse to cover you at all. And at least my car insurance company will give me a rental should something happen. If you're with a company like Verizon, good luck. You have no phone whatsoever until the replacement arrives. So what exactly am I paying for here? This is consumer rape on a level that is unprecedented. We are better off NOT paying for any mobile insurance. Anything is better than this hack scum low-life company.

Most recent bad experience? I almost had to wait an additional 24 hours for my replacement phone (not acceptable within the midst of a work week) all because their automated voice system could not recognize my address properly. They were going to make me wait another unnecessary 24 hours because they could not be bothered to put a human being on the phone with me to accurately take my shipping address. The poor lady who managed the Verizon store had to spend an additional 20+ minutes on the phone with these morons to fix it. Then they still charged me TWICE for the deductible. Between the Verizon rape then the Asurion rape, I'm seriously considering going the drug dealer route and just buying cheap burner phones and prepaid type of stuff. Why not? Nothing can be worse than this.

They then told me that I will have to wait longer because the color was out of stock. A week later They sent me the 6s plus Rose gold. I remain very calm and little upset after all when I called the third time to get my order right! This time the representative told me they still don't have the 16 gb 6s plus silver but the 64 gb 6s plus. I told them I did not care as long as it was the 6 plus silver! Again they sent me the same phone 6s simple silver 64 gb same as the first mistake. Very upset. This time I call them and they are refusing to process another order even though I provide them the shipping number.

Finally when they received the devices back they tell me that I will get a replacement order but they are not sure that I will get the same color because they have no control of the warehouse. What kind of customer service is that? I then told them that I will wait for the 4th order and if my order is wrong again I will take it to court. I completely regret paying for his service! I purchased my phone at Wal-Mart on November 21, 2014 - iPhone 6. In 2014 paid $179.99 for the phone and $99.00 for the insurance. Was assured my phone would be replaced if I needed to file a claim. On June 8, 2016, I contacted Asurion because the screen was cracked on my phone. They informed me they do not have an iPhone 6 available and will have to refund my money in the form of a Wal-Mart e-card. I can take the gift card to purchase a new phone. I find it very difficult to believe there are no iPhone 6 Sprint phones available. Regardless, the problem is a new phone is considerably more (couple hundred dollars) than I paid for my phone.

This company is within their rights if you read the very fine print at the bottom of the brochure. However, the Wal-Mart representative who sold me the policy assured me they do not have any issues getting phones replaced. So, I gave this company $99.00 for them to give me back $179.99 (less a $29 processing fee - they agreed to waive but it will come in a separate check). Regardless, they are grossly misrepresented by the sales staff at the store.

I called the company, informed them I was planning to record the conversation. They refused to speak to me. Apparently, they can record the conversation for quality assurance but the consumer cannot. That in itself should tell you the lack of integrity this company operates on. I have not been told I will receive the e-card and a separate check for the $29.00 service fee upon returning my broken phone. I am very reluctant to send the phone after reading further reviews where they claim they never received a phone that was sent in.

Now, I'm on a mission. I want to get the word out on how horrible the service really is. Everyone needs to know this insurance is a complete SCAM! They are making millions and using loopholes to take money from unsuspecting consumers. Social Media is a very powerful tool. Please contact me ** on twitter to tell your story. I completed a claim with Asurion paid my $149 deductible and they mailed a replacement next day. Refurbished or new Asurion backs their devices with a one year warranty. In May of this year the Touch ID stopped working on the replacement 5s so I contacted Asurion and they promptly sent another device. It just so happened that this device was not working correctly either.

About a week after receiving it the iPhone would lose cellular service and the only way to get service restored was to restart the iPhone. I worked with Verizon on this issue. We tried resetting network settings restoring phone to factory settings via iPhone and iTunes and a new SIM. None of this fixed the issue. So I contacted Asurion again and told them of the issue and because of all the trouble they offered to send me a brand new iPhone 6 along with EarPods and a case for all of my trouble with the phone.

When I received the replacement it was in fact factory sealed in Apple box with all the accessories inside. They also stayed true to their word with a free case and an extra set of unbranded EarPods. Also in April of this year my other son's iPhone 6 Plus was stolen and after paying the deductible of $199 they promptly sent a brand new one to him. It didn't come in the factory box, but I was able to confirm it was new by registering the serial number on Apple's support profiles site and confirming the one year Apple warranty. I don't understand why so many negative reviews when in my situations Asurion has been nothing but pleasant to work with on device replacements.

Late on that day I received an email stating my claim was under review. The next day I checked the status it said I had to call in, more information was needed. I called and spoke to a rep and she told me they need the make and model of the phone. Now to me if you are doing the insurance for my carrier, shouldn't you know this information? If I told you it was an iPhone, isn't there a way for you to verify it was a Samsung? Anyway, I told her the phone was my sons. I have no idea what the phone was and I have no way of contacting him obviously. I doubt if he would even know what the make and model was. She proceeds to tell me I then need to call my provider to get that information.

Ok before I proceed there are two things wrong here. If it is absolutely necessary for me to have the make and model of the phone why is unknown an option to select. Why not stop the person right there and say "this information is needed please contact your provider" or something along those lines. So I specifically asked the rep, "Is there any other information I am going to need in order to get this done when I call back?" She said "no that's all we need." I call my provider, get the information, call Asurion back. Asurion rep ask me for the make and model, I gave it to them. They then ask what date was the phone lost/stolen. I told them "I'm not sure. About 2-3 weeks ago." Guess what the rep said? "We need the exact date." Are you kidding me? They needed me to call my provider and get the exact date. Wow! So here I go again.

When I call Asurion back after being transferred 5-6 times a rep says "your claim was cancelled. I will reopen another one. Please hold while I contact the verification department." "The what? You mean to tell me you have a department who could verify the information you had me call my provider to get." She places me on hold for 5 minutes. Then the call disconnects. WOW! Here we go again. I call back. [Another issue, the IVR ask for your phone number, you give it. It then ask if your provider is Verizon Wireless. I say no, it transfers me, guess who answers the phone. The Verizon support group. Instead of transferring me to the Asurion group for my provider they transfer me to my phone provider. I call back, go through the same thing, this time when the rep ask me for my phone number I ask right away "are you a Verizon rep?" She answers yes and then transfers me.]

I finally get a rep on the line. I immediately ask for a manager. He ask why. I explain, he takes responsibility and proceeds to help me. In our conversation he advised me my claim was processed 4 times and therefore now I have to wait for an email, respond to it and it will be processed within 3 hours. The problem I have here is I only processed the claim online once. Therefore every rep I spoke with, instead of them completing a claim they started a new one each time. Guess what the email is? An affidavit in which I have to sign a document and send them a valid picture ID.

With all the issues I just had, why would I trust my personal information in anyone's hands at this company? But guess what, if I want a phone I'm just going to have to. I have approximately 6 phones through one provider and 3 phones through another provider and unfortunately they both use Asurion. I was just informed by a friend that AT&T have their own in-house insurance. I will be moving all my lines over just so I do not have to deal with this company ever again once I can confirm that.

I will be dropping my insurance I have had with Asurion for over 2 years. I have never had a claim. I just got this phone and my husband was in the process of activating this phone on our account when he slipped and it fell to the ground and got a tiny crack in the LCD. I thought, "Well, no problem. We have insurance. I called Asurion and they refuse to cover the phone because it was not on my account. So the first rep told me to take the phone to AT&T and add it to the account and they would be able to cover it. I took it to AT&T explained my situation and they gladly added the phone to my account and activated the device. I thought great I can now get this covered!

NOPE. Now Asurion tells me that the phone is now active but since it did not have any DATA or calls, it still is not covered. I asked to speak to a manager and they were ruder than the reps and told me the same story. So no luck for me. No phone covered and I am out the money. I am going to demand my money back and file a fraud complaint against them. I even have the receipt of the new phone purchased. THEY JUST DON'T CARE. Save your money. My telephone provider, AT&T uses Asurion for insurance like all the other telephone providers in the US. I bought a Samsung Galaxy 6 Edge last May and it quit working. No clue that it was going to quit working, just dead. I have used Asurion in the past 2 times to get a non smartphone replacement phone. Both times the phone was sent out to get it within 2 days. That was the good part. The first phone worked for 3 months. The second one worked for 6 months and I had to pay a claim amount double to the first one. So I had now paid $150 for 2 refurbished phones that lasted 9 months. I was not eligible for another replacement, so I went to Walmart and purchased a GoPhone for $50. I waited until I could get an upgrade and did it. Now that my Edge has quit working, it is $199 to make a claim even though I have not made a claim in the last 12 months and according to the policy it is 50% off for not having made a claim, so it should be $99.

So I have paid $410 for the phone, $360 for insurance, and would pay $199 for claim. That equals $969 total. Asurion changed the policy in March to amend it that they now only have to provide a comparable phone per value at time of claim. I am paying $915 for my new phone, but they can send me any smartphone by any manufacturer as long as it has similar features which is a broad guideline. I have checked the selling value of my phone online and it is $300. I have looked at other reviews and saw how people get the phone promptly, but have many issues with the phones not working or not working well, or even don't get a battery so that the phone can be turned on upon arrival. I chose not to make a claim. I am not sure why all the phone providers use this company as the reviews are horrible at best. Undecided as to my plan, but I will probably be spending the $550 to pay off my phone and get a new one. I will not pay for inept.

The battery life on these refurbished phones is practically non-existent. The calls to Asurion are the same. I want a phone that works! Yet it's the same crap every time. I really don't understand the legalities of sending me a refurbished phone when I am paying to lease a brand new phone. I will NEVER use this party for my phone insurance again. The worst experience ever. My phone was cracked and I called this insurance company to ask how much is the deductible. The representative 1 told me I had to do all the claim process, which includes photocopy of my driver's license and the affidavit, only to hear how much is my deductible amount. I called Asurion again after taking my time to do this process, and the representative 2 told me that I did not have to do it and she told me the deductible amount right away. Then I was transferred to the customer representative 3 who supposedly is a manager position and she advised me, with attitude, to wait for 2 weeks so I was eligible for paying less deductible because one year was about to pass since I got my phone.

I waited as advised and called again only to hear representative 4 telling me I was not eligible for the discounted amount because the day I called in was the "report" date and it would not make any difference if I waited any longer. She even told me I am about to commit an "insurance fraud." In sum, all representatives were very rude and incompetent as to their subject matter. I strongly suggest this company to invest more money into training because apparently what I received was the customer representatives disrespectful attitudes and inconsistent information, which apparently almost lead me to "commit insurance fraud."

This phone is a piece of poop. I got an LG Stylo phone through Asurion, an insurance deal through MetroPCS. Asurion claims they will send you a new phone or a refurbished one at their option, depending on the equipment. What that means is, they will send you a used phone that doesn't work. I am sure they are all refurbished. I had to pay insurance every month for the program, which was $6 a month. I didn't realize there was $100 deductible. The ** phone only cost me $125 to start with for the new, working one!

The battery on this thing was half dead when I got it. It won't even stay charged a few hours if I'm online. I didn't realize they gave you a used battery too! It clearly was refurbished from being dropped. A different back and front were assembled as the back had two small scratches on it when I received it, and the front had two dents on it, on the side, where it would have fractured the screen when dropping (The ridge that wraps around the side of your phone, on the front). Because of that, when I did drop it, the pressure the drop put on the screen at that side caused it to readily break. The mouthpiece is crap, and nobody can hear me. I have replayed voicemails I left, and can't even understand myself! "Talk to Type" is a joke, probably because the phone can't understand me either! This thing is a ** piece of poop!

This phone was supposed to replace my perfectly brand new phone I bought. That is why I bought the insurance! Asurion didn't give a Flying leap of course, the phone wasn't even dispositioned when I got it, and I had to wait all weekend for them to put it on a list Monday to make it work with my service provider. Didn't I tell them who my service provider was? I have been soundly, and roundly ripped off by both MetroPCS and Asurion insurance, more than once by MetroPCS. Please see my review of them, and my review of their store on Federal in Denver for more information. This is not Okay. If you have also been ripped off, let me know if there is going to be a class action lawsuit, I want in! This is some ** from some ** providers! At least, whatever you do, you know that you have been warned. By me.

Now I am not the only one to warn you, out of thousands of ratings, they have an average of 1 star. I am serious when I say, I believe their actions, over this volume of people, violate laws, and a shark of a lawyer would easily get them. In a class action lawsuit, the lawyer winds up getting most of the money you would have gotten back from the company, but Asurion still has to pay. The other option though, is to wait for the lawsuit to play out, and use the evidence of the class-action suit to file suit directly. The grounds are the same, and while a different case, the jury already knows a decision has essentially been reached. It would probably be a judge trial actually, but the results would be the same. You must opt out of the class action lawsuit to be eligible to file suit directly. That is all.

So why is it so difficult to provide a battery with the replacement phone? I'm sure many replacements are being shipped, and although I appreciate the next day delivery, that becomes meaningless when I now have to wait over the weekend for a battery. Do your job correctly the first time around because an apology doesn't fix the inconvenience already faced with a defective phone.

WORST experience ever! I have been a customer of Sprint for 4 years and have been paying insurance on two phones for the whole 4 years. I know it's a gamble when it comes to insurance with phones but added together that would be approximately $1000.00, that I have given Asurion in the past 4 years, this is also my first claim. I cracked and broke my Samsung Galaxy Sport and decided to go through Asurion and pay the deductible which is $200.00. The representative there told me they can only give me a Galaxy S5 because the sport is no longer manufactured. Asurion proceeded to tell me it's the same phone but the sport is water resistant whereas the Galaxy S5 is not. I need a water resistant phone because I work on boats. I proceeded to tell them I need my original device because I'm paying monthly for insurance or they should lower my deductible.

I then asked nicely to speak with a manager and in turn the representative hung up on me. I proceeded to call back and finally gave in and took the Galaxy S5 because they offered to mail me a check to pay for the full cost of the 600 dollar Galaxy Sport but it would take 7 days to get the check by mail. I would still have to pay for the $200.00 deductible. I also cannot wait that long as I need my phone for work.

Yesterday I went into Sprint to get a waterproof case for a Galaxy 5 and they don't sell them anymore so Sprint decided to see if I was eligible for an upgrade, turns out I am which would cost 80.00 to upgrade early because I'm leasing the device. The Sprint associate went to apply this to my account and after all the problems I encountered with Asurion I CANNOT trade in the Galaxy S5 because it's not the original model I had (Galaxy Sport). Today I am returning to Sprint to try and dispute the matter with Sprint on my side. At this point I don't want to deal with Asurion and I'm thinking of canceling my service and going to a phone company that does not affiliate with them.

First it is not any fun when you damage a phone (crack screen) and have to pay the deductible. However the torture that they then put you through in getting the replacement is ridiculous. I get the replacement and then 3 weeks later it will not work. I worked with Verizon first who was excellent. They had great customer service and were very patient with me spending more than an hour troubleshooting on the phone. After several calls to Verizon along with Google chats it was determined it was a defect and needed to be replaced.

When submitting to Asurion the claim was declined and said it was not covered because it would be warranty and referred me back to Verizon. When going back to Verizon they explained that since Asurion provided the replacement phone because of a claim they would be responsible for replacing it under their warranty. This time Verizon did a warm conference with Asurion and they agreed to replace it. However now they are asking for a credit card to have on file and would not order my warranty replacement phone. They are NOT easy to do business with. They do not put the consumer first nor do they understand the urgency of providing good service to their consumer. I know there are other insurance providers out there and hope that Verizon will not extend a contract with them when it is renewal time as they do NOT value the Verizon consumer.

The battery is simply an inconvenience; the touchscreen a necessity. I contacted Asurion and was amused that the phone tree had an option for poor battery life and/or dead touchscreen. The operator was friendly enough, took my information and let me know that they would be sending me a new phone. Had the experience ended there this would be a five star review.

I asked out of curiosity if they were ever going to let me know that my order had not yet been completed. No, they weren't. Monday comes and there is no phone. I call back and OF COURSE there is no record of me ever calling. Was it with a different department? No, I had never been transferred. Now I would be transferred.

I give the same information as before but this time was read much more legal information and given an order number. The order number is tied to a FedEx tracking number so who knows, my dreams may be coming true and after three weeks will be getting a replacement phone. I won't hold my breath as to guessing when it will arrive or even work.

    Contract & TermsCoverage

    Reviewed May 3, 2016

This is an important HEADS UP for consumers in the US. We bought a washing machine at Home Depot and also purchased the service contract from Asurion. We knew the service plan was necessary because as many people know I am a completely disabled vet with a leg amputation and cancer. When we purchased the machine and service plan we were VERY clear we had a limited income and needed a reliable machine with a great service plan. Sure enough in time, we needed the machine serviced. The result - not covered because the water pump and drain hose are clogged with hair and dirt.

They say anything that is external to the machine that damages it is not covered. This means if you put dirty clothes in a washer and the dirt clogs it the service contract does not cover it. We would never bought it or the contract if we had any clue of this stupid clause. Asurion covers more than washing machines so be sure to read your 'plan' very carefully before wasting your money.
