This is my first use of my phone insurance on my iPhone 6s for a cracked screen. I did an online claim and it processed in one transaction. My options were to repair the cracked screen or replace the phone. I chose to replace the phone. Most likely it is a refurbished phone, but it definitely is more "agile" than my iPhone I had been using for almost 3 yrs. My replacement came the next day, not even 24 hours had gone by. I had assistance in getting it set up, and I used iTunes backup to restore my information. I had a good experience.

The customer service representative was incredibly helpful and explained the process of returning my damaged phone. Also, she cleared up an issue that was going to delay me getting my new phone sent. She took time to properly assess my situation. And she was patient and kind. (That kind of person is difficult to find these days. And, usually, they end up higher in management. She’s headed that way!)

In the end, impressed that I have a replacement phone in hand. Thankful for that, but when paying a monthly premium for this insurance, perhaps the bar should be higher than just relief that “it actually worked” & replacement phone was received. Positive: a lost iPhone X was replaced with a brand new iPhone XS - not a refurbished iPhone X, so essentially an upgrade. Score! Negative: not guaranteed to receive same color phone you had. (Received rather gawdy gold after losing space gray. Bummer.) Positive: the claim processing/approval/ship-out-the-warehouse was lightning fast. All in same day, matter of hours. Negative: the ship/receive process wasn’t as seamless as it could be, by far.
Thousands (millions?) of wireless accounts are family plans, where line holders live at different addresses. The ship-to elements of the process looked as if they would properly ship replacement to the specific line holder’s name/attention at whichever address they input, but in the end, the site didn’t accept certain addresses (ie. work) & places strict restrictions on delivery (wouldn’t allow recipient to have FedEx hold at local station) ultimately sending the line holder urgently needing a replacement on a chase to actually get their device. And when finally at the stage of signing on FedEx’s dotted line to receive, find out it was shipped with attention-to the main account holder’s name, not the line holder’s name that was input on the claim & website ship-to process, so FedEx holds package hostage.
All in all, I think I’ll be canceling this service and just biting the bullet to fully buy replacement phone the next day after losing/breaking current one. In 2019, it’s just too long to have to go a week without a phone, running around trying to overcome the insurance process’s shortcomings. Users who have a cut & dry scenario likely would do just fine. If you have any unique situation, you could run into hurdles.

This process was hectic enough and Asurion made it quick and painless, tracking number for the new device, and a walk through step by step process. Thank you so much for making a hard situation easy. The return box also came with the labels and the tape so you just had to take it to your closest UPS store!

Lost my iPad Mini during a large family event. I suspended the device and hoped it would turn up. When it did not, I filed a claim. Asurion replaced the iPad within 2 days start to finish and even replaced with a higher level than my original device. Thanks Asurion for the great service.

Device was damaged and could not be repaired. There was a problem with the touch screen, could only tap keyboard with a stylus. Could not hear through the device speaker, only sound was through the speaker phone, Claim was filed, approved and a replacement device was received the following business day.

My son dropped his phone and shattered the screen. The model we had was an older model and not available anymore. Asurion had to substitute for next model. It was easy to submit the claim and my replacement device arrived within 2 business days - super quick turnaround! It's also very easy to return the old device as they provide shipping label, tape, and protective pouch for the phone. All around great experience!

I received my phone in less than 24 hours. I was amazed. My phone had an issue and would not charge. I thought it would take at least a couple of days so I bought a cheap fifty dollar phone and had the Sim card put in it. I would not have done so if I knew how fast the phone would come. The speed was very impressive.

I had my phone stolen at Miami International Airport. I have a residence in Florida and Ohio. My phone arrived promptly however at the wrong address, although it was verified twice to be shipped to Ohio. I called with the help of Verizon to get the matter fixed and have had nothing but problems and have still not received a phone. I have been told that I would receive emails, that everything would be fixed within 3 hours, that was over 13 hours ago. One of the reps accused me of fraud. I now have to have the phone shipped overnight to Ohio at my expense. The last person that I spoke to was a supervisor by the name of Jenette operator number **. She told me I would receive information within 3 hours, which I have not received.

I think it was too many people to go through. Too much info to send to fax, to email. It was more info than I have to give my car insurance for a claim. I think a little overboard for all info required.

Phone was shipped quickly and was received well within the timeframe indicated. I would only recommend a “what to do before you seal the box to return the old phone” checklist. I had to reopen the box several times to ensure everything was correctly completed.

Unfortunately the phone had to be replaced twice but both times I received the phone very quickly, which was nice. However, it was frustrating the initial phone didn't charge and had to be replaced within days (after having all my information transferred over) so this meant another trip to AT&T for help which was a major inconvenience during the holidays.

Took away one star because had to go thru a process to get my claim approved because of a typo in reporting date of accident. Called and they knew it was a typo but still had to wait for verification. Once this was taken care of the service, representatives, and service were top notch!

I cracked the back of my iPhone X. Although it was fully functional, I obviously did not want to keep my phone that way so I filed a claim. The price to replace my phone was more expensive than I’d like but then I knew this so it’s not an issue. That said after filing my claim which was simple enough, my new phone was delivered within two days and the setup instructions made it a breeze. I didn’t even have to call for assistance which they offer. I placed my old phone in the package sent with my new phone and that was that.

Claim # **. It has been approved since 12/27/18 for iPhone X. I have called and spoken to 6 people. First they sent me a box with earbuds and no phone so they closed the claim and I had to open a new claim which is the number above. I guess they do this so that their numbers look good because they closed another claim. Every time I speak to a representative they tell me the same script. "Look online at phoneclaim.com for your tracking number. It should be there in 24 hours." I call every day and look every night. There is no tracking number. The worst part of this is that I am an AT&T manager and have worked for BellSouth and AT&T for 26 years.
I have asked for a manager on every call and they just put me on hold. It is funny because I can hear the representative pick up to see if I'm still on hold. Must be they cannot get another call until I hang up. I have left it for hours and never gotten a manager. I'm ashamed that we partner with such a company. I have escalated this through our own corporate since there is no escalation process through Asurion.

Very fast attention and shipment of a replacement phone. The only problem was with the carrier. They deliver the phone to the wrong address, mine is ** and the delivered it to **. I contacted the carrier and told them I had not received the package. I was told they would open a track on it. Two days later I had not heard from them. The person at ** found that my package was at her front door and delivered it to me. The address was correct on the label, the carrier just delivered it to the wrong address. I contacted the carrier and advised them I had located the package and to cancel the track, they acted unconcerned and never said thank you or kiss my grits. I guess that is why most people call them unpredictable service.

The conversation I had with the insurance representative was intellectually expansive and thought provoking. The speed at which the new phone was delivered blew my mind. The bubble wrap within the box reminded me of an inflatable raft, and it held the old, broken phone in a comfortable pouch as it was shipped out to its warehouse grave, like a modern day Viking death ceremony.

Process/Claim was easy and so quick... New phone arrived the next day after claim was filed... We were delighted that this experience was faster and quicker than we expected. We are in our 60's and so we were not familiar with smart phones. But since we've joined others and bought smart phones we're happy we did because we were devastated when my phone was damaged and didn't know how or what were gona do. When we went to the AT&T store for help they directed us to go to Asurion.com... which we did and just followed the on screen prompts. Easy and fast... We couldn't believe it was that easy.

On the whole, my experience replacing a phone (that completely broke) through Asurion was good. Although I needed to reset a couple of passwords first, the phone came quickly, and the person available by phone to help me transfer information from the old phone to the new phone was fantastic. I only gave four stars because the new phone has a battery life that's less than my two or three year old phone that broke.

Process was okay. When phone is sent to you, they should include a sheet of paper with step by step instructions. So those of us who care to read will read and follow the directions. Instructions sheets help and can be saved and used at another time.

Turning off my iCloud was handled by Verizon and I recommend that for all of your clients. It is not possible to turn off iCloud when the old phone cannot be activated. Your prompt action was quite surprising and should be advertised!

I broke the screen on my moto g6 play on Thursday December 27, 2018. I called, filed a claim at 7:30 pm that night and Friday December 28, 2018 I had my new phone. Easy and quick painless really, I'm sorry I can't remember the lady's name I spoke with but she was extremely helpful and understanding, I don't get a phone without insurance as accidents happen and most people don't have hundreds or a thousand dollars laying around to pay for a new phone outright. Overall phone conversation with representative was fast and easy, the address & phone number was repeated several times between myself & the representative to make sure it was correct. However when it came time for the package to be delivered (I had it delivered to my work address since no one would be home) I noticed the address was put down wrong and so was my phone number on the label. Lucky for me my UPS driver knows me and was able to get it to me.

Excellent service again. The replacement phone that I ordered, arrived the next day. This is the 3rd or 4th time we have had to use the insurance and I would not try to do without it. Also, if you do not make a claim for a year, your deductible is cut in half.

The young lady that took care of my claim was very good and took great care in my situation. My phone arrived in great time and the return was very easy. The only complaint I had was how the insurance work. I have had this insurance for year and never had a claim and since 2 out of three of our phones on the plan had to make a claim we were penalized. The lady on the phone was very professional and helpful. Received my replacement within two days, this was during the holidays. Had a little trouble setting up my phone. I was disconnected during the process. Had to make a trip to AT&T to make sure my phone had been reset to factory settings.

It was a "Christmas miracle." We ordered the replacement device on Saturday and it arrived on Monday Christmas Eve. The device works great and we set it up easily calling the "set up" number on the paperwork. Return was easy.

Dropped my phone and broke the screen making the upper half unresponsive. This was the first time I had to use Asurion and was unsure of the process. Overall I am pleased with the outcome but there were a few surprises. I couldn't just take my phone to a location to be fixed and had to mail it back leaving me without a phone (sounds like no big deal but it's funny how we've become totally reliant on our phones). Secondly, since the upper part of the screen was unresponsive I couldn't turn off Find My iPhone and that caused several issues. In the end they could not fix the screen but sent a refurbished phone within 48 hours that looked and works like new for a reasonable deductible.

My phone had been malfunctioning for a few months. The worst lack of help ever. The modus operandi is if it isn’t an easy fix they just drop the call and a person has to start all over. No wonder. They had replaced my iPhone 7 with a defective phone instead of a new one! Bad bad bad bad for phone calls.

I have insurance through Verizon for my Samsung S8. A few months back, I dropped my phone and cracked my screen. I called Asurion to get the phone fixed. They told me I had two options: repair the phone for $29 or get a replacement for $149. They told me that if I had the phone repaired, it would no longer be water resistant. I decided to replace the phone for $149 so that I could have the water resistance. Sadly, just a few days ago, I dropped my phone in the bathtub. I immediately removed it, but the phone no longer functioned.
I called up Asurion to see what they could do for me and they are telling me that I will need to pay another $149 to get the phone replaced. They are saying the phone is water resistant not waterproof and there is no guarantee that water cannot get into the phone. Had I known that Asurion would take this stance, I would have paid the $29 and received a phone that was not water resistant. I would have been significantly more careful with the phone because I would have known that it was not waterproof. I do not recommend this company. If you do have insurance through this company, I highly recommend repairing the phone instead of replacement. The replacement phone is refurbished and they cannot guarantee the phone will be like new.

The first time I called I was told I had no warranty. This was told to me by AT&T. Luckily I called again and got correct information. Once I reached Asurion everything went smoothly and I was able to get that I needed.

Fast delivery of replacement phone. Good communication and quick response time. No complaints about the experience at all. I contacted a rep via phone and handled the claim via email from there. The phone does not work right. I could not transfer my iTunes to my Mac Pro nor do you the messages or pages open right. I would get blank pages. I think if you are going to gives us refurbished phones, make sure they work.

Completing the claim was simple and fast. And I received the replacement phone immediately. Faster than I expected. There is only would thing that I would suggest as an improvement. Add the option of allowing the customer to pick up a replacement phone at their local AT&T store once the claim has been processed and approved.

The replacement phone that was sent to me from Asurion ended up having a faulty back camera. I called to let them know and they told me they would send me another IPHONE 7s PLUS... The same phone to me. I have been waiting and when it finally arrived I was in complete and utter shock. They mailed me the WRONG PHONE. I was sent an iPhone 8 which is a lot smaller then what I even had. Considering the fact that after I received the replacement phone I called to let them know it was the wrong phone. I continued to explain to them that my eyesight sadly is very terrible and I cannot function with this phone and my eyes are hurting even more now that I have to strain them. They did not care at all about that and said they were doing me a favor by upgrading my phone.
I do not want to upgrade my phone. I was told I would receive the same phone that I originally had which was the iPhone 7s Plus. I was transferred over to another department where I was basically told I was stuck with this phone and there was nothing I could do about it. Now I am stuck here in much more pain than ever in my eyes because Asurion couldn’t do their job right. Thank you very much Asurion for ruining my eyesight even more.

I cracked my screen on my Samsung Galaxy S6 edge 64 GB. I called the warranty dept and was told that I had the option of having someone come to me to replace the screen... awesome. However, when I went to the site to submit the claim the only option that was available to me was to replace my phone by mail. And the only replacement option I had was the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (cool) 32 GB (NOT cool). I called them directly to find out if there was a way I could get a phone that had the same amount of memory as my current phone and they had the nerve to tell me that "they don't make the S7 edge in 64 GB." That's BS. I realize that I can't get the S6 edge as they don't make it anymore, but I'm not going to pay a $112 deductible for a phone I don't even want and one that isn't truly comparable to what I currently have. They're just trying to give you the cheapest thing they possibly can in order to get over on you. Basically they suck.

They sent a refurbished phone. Not a new one. The fact I had to pay 90.00 out of pocket to file claim on top of a monthly charge, I should have gotten a new phone. Not a used one. Plus they made me send back the old one, which they make more money off of. It should be illegal. They should have to replace with new. Not used junk!

The site states to file a claim online then it directs you to call a number which states 24/7 and come to find out it means you’ll probably wait which seems like 24 hours before someone comes on the line. The first time the replacement phone was sent out the address was incorrect. After filing a second claim going through an excruciating process again I encountered another roadblock because the second replacement phone would not be mailed out to a UPS mailbox which the agent helping out the first time had no problem sending it out to UPS box. After speaking to a customer retention agent because I was so frustrated with everyone I’m bouncing from around to finally agreed to send it out to the UPS box because the phone was for a Navy serviceman and unable to receive mail on the ship. I’ve had to replace phones before and never encountered any problems until this time.

LG V35 had cracked screen. Used on-line method to file claim. Received another phone within a couple days and the AT&T store nearby transferred data and set up replacement for use. The Process was too long. It took 6 days to get a phone. I also had the choice for a Window phone; but they gave a Galaxy7f. I lost 5 days of work going back and forth from home to AT&t showing AT&T guys trying as fast we could but, that process sucks. WAY TOO SLOW. Emails would take hours to get through. I lost work for a whole week. I also wanted the Window phone, been using it since 1987 and now I have to learn a new phone. That sucks too!! hate it, way too much stress during this process. Now I'm trying to learn the Galaxy and I hate it. There are too many yellow buttons and when people who have color issues, yellow - ? I can't see yellow. UGH! Window phone uses dark colors blue, NO Yellow. This process stinks.

Fast claim, filed claim on a Saturday evening, received phone by Wednesday. This included Christmas Day on Tuesday, so I am well pleased. Offered to help set phone up, but I didn’t require help. So far, excellent!!! Replacement phone appears brand new, I realize it is refurbished, but no complaints.

Service was satisfactory, had to resubmit the application for the replacement phone. But the young lady stayed on the phone to help with the process. And she provided the conformation number before leaving us to finish the process. Still don't understand why it took the trip from Fort Worth up to Memphis Tenn then back to Texas.

Cracked my screen and you have to mail in the phone and wait for them to mail it back. When I had the same issue last summer that had someone come out to me and fix it - but they no longer offer that option. I tried asking customer service about it but they couldn't give me any reason for the change. And they also couldn't do a search to tell me where the nearest location I could bring it to was. There's nothing available within 60 miles of Boston, and they can't do a search beyond that radius.

Recently I had lost my new iPhone. I placed complaint immediately, and it got approved on 19th Dec. It has been 10 days but still they have not yet shipped my phone. The website says that we would receive the new phone in next 2-3 business days. It has already been 5-7 business days. Every time I call the customer support, they say the same thing which I can see on the website.

The only issue I had was with the activation process. It was far more complicated and time consuming than it had to be. I called the provided number, then transferred, then dropped, then I called back, and it took 20 minutes to activate my phone. I went to the AT&T store and they stated it was far simpler to just swap out the existing SIM card.

Second attempt at replacement phone went without a hitch. Recovery from first (failed) attempt was expedited and the new phone was successfully swapped out before my son's Christmas leave was over (US Marines). Original phone return process was effortless. Thank you for that! (No one gets 5 stars from me. One star penalty for the computer glitch. Recommend internal investigation into why the first replacement order was bounced out of the system without any notification.)

My Tab A stopped working so I took it in to a Verizon store. They immediately ordered me a new one which arrived the next business day. I was having issues getting it connected to my data plan so I called in and was assisted by Kiana. The process was very simple and I got my phone in less than 24 hours. I filed my claim that evening after work and it was at my office before lunch the next day. We have paid insurance for years and never filed a claim but paying for insurance is worth it.

Everything was great! I got the phone the next day. I can put my passcode in easily. No problems with battery or damage. My battery was low before and now no worries. Also the screen looks great and no water issues. Everything on the screen reacts well. Cheaper than Apple store on fixing the screen of it was cracked more while fixing it (getting the battery straight too). Great job!

I received a new upgrade phone as the original is obsolete. I had to take damaged to a repair facility to retrieve photos and Asurion waves the 10 day so this could be completed while I was out of state. They were great to work with!!!

After 20 years of cell phone use (and who knows how much $ in cell phone protection over the years), I had to file a claim for the first time in November. The initial experience was good - I called, a replacement phone arrived in a couple days. I was told there would be a $29 fee. Things took a turn when I was surprised a month later via an email saying that the total would actually come to $170 more. After getting the email and calling Asurion, the customer service rep said that based on my file, she thought that the email came to me in error.
It's one week later, and the $170 charge has shown up on my card. I tried to: - Call customer service for more info - the automated service wouldn't let me through after 3 attempts, because I wasn't calling about a new/current claim. - Get more info through online chat - the rep tried to help, but didn't have access to my repair detail. - Look up my claim online - no record of phone return status.
Tried to call again, and entered prompts as if I had a new claim, in order to reach a person. I was told that the additional charge was because the LCD screen was broken -- and essentially, she said that it's my fault that the charge comes as a surprise to me. That if I had noted at the beginning that my screen was black, they could have let me know the expected full cost upfront. (My claim paperwork literally says "screen went black.") My issue is not with the final cost, it is with the different stories and information at each step, and that it took me so many tries to reach someone on the phone. I am writing this in hopes that the company will improve their communications process for future customers.

In some cases, the device may be eligible for a screen repair as long as there is no damage done to other parts of the device. If that is the case, the fee is significantly less than having to replace the whole device. The screen repair option is secondary to your primary insurance which means, if the device is not eligible for repair, you may still proceed with a device replacement still for a fraction of the cost of the retail cost of a device.
