My beginning call was not good. The person I spoke to was doing what he thought was good but then he connected me to the internet company. After being connected to the internet service, I chose to cancel everything. This was due to the charges that DIRECTV quoted me were changed by them to the place that I chose to stay with the company I was with rather than change.. From there everything got very positive as the rep I spoke to concerning canceling helped me to see that going with the TV only in lieu of a complete cancellation was in my best interest and so I did. I am very satisfied with this decision.

I was definitely shopping around for different cable services to find the cheapest and best deal. Directv definitely offers the best services along with a better picture than Cable. It also give you the best deals and this comes from a lot of research. Directv is the most accommodating company and I have had it in my parents home for 10 years. I now know why my parent kept it for so long. I am very pleased with every customer service staff member I have spoken to. The customers' happiness seems to be very important which is refreshing.

I don't call DirecTV often, but when I do they are always polite and informative and I would recommend them to anyone. They also carry NFL Sunday ticket and we are huge fans!

I contacted AT&T to see if U-Verse was available in my area. Installation was scheduled and I later found out that DirecTV was being installed. I was very disappointed. The service representative was very helpful and made the situation much better.

My husband and I recently visited a Costco near us and were approached by a DirecTV rep offering us to lower our cable services vs what we are currently paying with Time Warner. Being that they were inside Costco, we listened to their offer to see if it would be beneficial for us to switch over. The sales rep asked us the specific channels we were looking to have to ensure that a package would be tailored to our needs, and so we signed up, since he promised all the necessarily channels for both my husband and I and our 2 small children.
Everything was great! The sales rep was super friendly and informative, kept reviewing ALL the channels we signed up for and had requested. The installation rep was super nice, however once the cable was up and running, everything took a turn for the worse. Most of the channels that we were promised were not programmed and so we were instructed by the installation rep to call customer service, which we did. Not only was the representative over the phone extremely condescending but she was also insisting we pay more for the services we were promised. Having reviewed what we had discussed with the sales rep, the customer service rep insisted we would have to pay an additional $25 for the channels we had originally been offered. We explained to the rep what we had been promised and at what price and she was of no help whatsoever. We called the sales rep and this time we were faced with another condescending attitude.
I'm sorry, but both my time and money are valuable to me. I don't appreciate being mislead in order to sign up for services and then be told that I have to pay more for what we were assured was included. And what really upset me the most was that we were told that for the hour more or less that we had the service, we would be billed for an entire day! Their customer service representatives were of no help, did not listen to what we were explaining but rather focused on getting more money out of us and the sales representative was extremely misleading and misinformed us in order to have us sign up.
Needless to say we cancelled services, but now are stuck with the task of boxing everything up and mailing it back when they could easily have a field rep pick it up when in the area. I am extremely appalled that the sales rep was out right misleading and that the customer service department refused to HEAR what we had to say but rather focused on how the company could add more services to what we were already dissatisfied with. I would NEVER recommend these services to anyone!

We enjoyed your service at our residence at Las Mesitas Court, Santa Rosa, CA. When we moved to a residence home, we were unable to continue with your service, and were unhappy with your competitor's. Now, we are moving to a different home, and are happy to be able to resume DirecTV service.

When cancelling the horribly overpriced service that doesn't work when there's weather, they'll charge you for the equipment before you even receive the boxes to return them. Then their customer service rep will lie to you and say it is just a hold. NEVER again!

The only time we didn't have any issues with Directv was our first month. Every time after that we were charged hidden fees and given no notice to price changes. We cancelled early and were told they'd send a final statement before charging the card. I called customer service and they didn't care nor will they refund me even though I never received the statement. Hopefully you'll have a better experience than we did, but from my experience, Directv does not care about customer satisfaction and won't do anything to fix it. Do at your own risk.

I thought your phone techs were honest and direct with all my questions. They were excellent in their explanations to me and very exact in their answers which saved me much money. I will deal with you at a later date when my contract ends with AT&T.

I am paying for 2 accounts. Just spent 1.5 hours trying to get Directv. Service stops during a movie without code number. Daily local channels are not available or have to be reset. Service requests the card without replacing it when payment is automatic. 5-19-15, talked to ** who kept asking that I repeat what the problem was. Manager ** showed little attempt to solve problem and no interest that there is a problem.

We were very happy with the overall experience working with DirecTV to switch from Comcast. There was some initial confusion about whether we could get CenturyLink internet, but we were able to get it after all.

My overall experience with Directv was a good one. I'm just glad to be a member. The things that were difficult was my failure to comprehend. Some of the representatives did not speak English distinctly but they were willing to repeat.

Sales representative was very good and answered any of my questions. Customer Service was excellent in resolving my issue, which was with installers that missed my appointment for a second time. They finally got the installers here. They were very apologetic - explained their situation and did a very professional, clean and neat job and made sure it was done to our satisfaction.

I just paid a bill of 145.00 on May 1st. They shut my service off today for a past due balance of 65.00 even though I had an extension till May 30th. They say I owe 124 but if I pay 65.00 they will turn it on. It doesn't make sense and they refuse to turn it back on until we pay. I just received the bill two days ago.

I was a little unwound at first, from my Frontier representative, not explaining I needed a pole installed, or that DTV installing one would not be part of my "free" installation. She explained the process thoroughly, and helped me with a solution to get my installation back on track. Without being rude or condescending, resolved the issue and scheduled me a speedy install date.

They made sure that I understood everything and programmed remotes. Then "I think" a rear supervisor also stopped by to make sure that everything was done correctly and neat. They made sure I saw their badges before they started any work or entered the house.

The installation tech, **, was very friendly and helpful. He had a lot of work to do here since most of the rooms didn't have the wiring ready for installation. He took the time to wire each room and stayed until the job was finished. The finished job was very presentable and you could barely see the cable wiring on the wall. I would recommend ** to anyone for their cable TV installation.

After my most recent interaction with a directv representative I was pleasantly satisfied. At first I was apprehensive about switching to directv, but after speaking to the second representative she informed me of all of my incentives that I qualified for. And when the call dropped she called me back right away. I will definitely recommend!

This is my first time pulling up review site, I suppose I should have done that first before starting service over a year ago, any company rated with only 2 stars clearly has issues. I have had nothing but problems with this company and their customer service since day one, the bills have become ridiculous. I am paying almost 200$ a month and now being told today you cannot order a movie because my bill is due, no I am not disconnected. It's just time for my bill to be paid, I'm told their policy is to not allow any customers to order a movie if their bill is due. I can't even believe this, so last month I paid almost 400$ in charges and fees and more fees, and now my bill is 160 something few weeks later. You may ask "did I order tons of movies or something?" The answer is no just 1. And again I'm not disconnected, my bill is just about due in fact on the 26th.
So today I cannot order a movie. I'm calling another company and cancelling service with direct the moment I finish this review. My advice is unless you enjoy poor service and dumping hundreds monthly into something getting nothing in return but poor service don't start service with this company or you to will be here eventually. And upon reading other reviews it's not normal to have constant problems having to spend so much time on phone looking for issues to be resolved whether they're fixed or not there's more to come.

I was aware, as well as DirecTV, and installer that I would only be at address for one year - Expressed this to tech, but he stated that a small fee would be charged, because I would only be address for one year - and the contract was for two. DirecTV charged my charge card with 278.00 and did not know which card they charged. The service went in and out, and my whole house ** never worked properly, service went out a lot - and I could not get on demand. Gave HBO and Comcast free for trial three months of which I did not want, but they would not allow me to opt out or call and cancel = until the three months trial was over. I have had AT&T for years, as well as Comcast - I pay on time and am a excellent customer but I have never felt so ripped off. Be Aware of the contract, and do not take any verbal commitments.

So far I'm greatly satisfied with the service I have reviewed from DirecTV. The initial Ordering process went smoothly and was flurry informative as to what my options would be for setup. The gentleman that handled my install was a great help. He went well above and beyond during the entire process, he made me and my wife very comfortable with our new TV service and was very knowledgeable on the feature available to us.

They make closing an account a huge hassle. I moved and was unable to keep my service due to the new apartment's rules. After months of saying they didn't receive my equipment and calling in several times they finally waived the charges. I had it on video that the USP picked it up. Save yourself the time and go with another provider.

Directv has been wonderful so far... Only have had it for 1.5 days but the features are great. The ability to record 5 shows at once and watch a recorded show in your bedroom which is not the main receiver is a huge bonus. My only hesitation is that the installation gentleman may have ran the cord in my gutter coming from dish on roof... Could be an issue with leaves and debris build up. I have not gone up there yet to take a look but that is my only hesitation.

DirecTV has been very reliable for me for over 10 years. But over the last 3 years, after trying on numerous times to get their claimed online service, I have had NO support. I'm wasting valuable time trying to get online service that should be no problem. I have tried to get help many times but get NO response and reading through hundreds of FAQs to find my problem is ridiculous. I remain without my paid for service and I'm stuck writing this because they won't listen.

Signed up for a 12 month extended service plan with DirecTV after my 2-year contract expired. I was quoted a monthly cost for the plan. When I got my first bill the price was higher than what I was quoted. I called customer service and explained that I was billed for the wrong amount. Service told me that the billing was correct and there was nothing they could do about it. I told them that because they changed the terms of the agreement I wanted to cancel the plan. A month later my credit card was charged $104.00 for early cancellation. I do not recommend this company as they use deceptive pricing practices. I will be filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and highly recommend others do the same.

We were lied to from the beginning. First, we were promised service for no more than $51 per month for a year. We were never told there was a 2 year contract. We were told we would get lots of sports channels for this price. We were told they would never charge our credit card but required it on file. We were told the installation was free. We were told we had 10 days to try the service without penalties. ALL LIES!!! No sports. They charged our credit card $67.00. When I called to cancel, less than 24 hours later, it took an hour and a half to get the service cancelled, they tried desperately to up sell me and they keep calling my house and sending mail to me now saying we owe them $100 for the installation. DON'T EVER TRY this service!!!

Your customer service representative was very helpful in trying to get DirecTV installed on the premises. Unfortunately I did not realize that a "dish" had to be installed. This was not something that was even spoken about. The building I live in denied your representative access and he couldn't install the dish. I am hoping I can change this...by getting ONE dish installed that perhaps could service the entire building. Perhaps someone from your office could contact me about this matter.

From initial call which was a bit pushy, to installation, the process was fast and professional. The installation tech was on time and called while en route to give a heads up on status. He allowed me to choose where I wanted the antenna (from several possible locations). He spent time with control operations and made sure we understood them. I had 3 seasons of "Breaking Bad" saved on my DVR. As I was about to watch my next episode, I realized that they are all gone! I contacted DirecTV through instant chat and they had me reset the DVR. Sadly, this did not bring my shows back. They stated they could not do anything but offered me a credit. While I now have to rent or buy the 3 seasons I'm missing, I took the credit. Now the reason for my 1 star is that this is my 3rd complaint about DirecTV in less than 2 years. The other was regarding a transfer/moving fee of $200+ (even though I was originally told it would be free) and the other was another DVR issue in which my shows wouldn't record due to an error message (771)! My 2 year contract ends in August and I will be on speed dial to cancel! Too many other options available to deal with this kind of service/product.

The Representatives are the backbone of their company and my experience with DIRECTV has really impressed me. If the services that I will be receiving are as good as the people that I've spoken with (in great detail), I'm sure that I will be very happy.

When I talked to the representative who canceled my order with DIRECTV, She was so nice and honest regarding alternatives on affordable orders. I almost didn't want to cancel my order but my budget is so tight I had to cancel.

I love DirecTV. However, after my installation today, I was VERY upset to discover (on my own) that On Demand is not accessible without home internet!!! This important info should have been advised when I placed the order. Had I known this, I probably would have kept my Comcast appointment. What's more, I can't even use the unlimited data or mobile hot spot on my iPhone to access your On Demand feature, which is now useless to me. Very unhappy about this!!

Just from my first inquiry phone call to the Installation earlier today, the process has been smooth and fast. The installer was great and quick. He knew about his product and gave a very detailed instructional on how to use it. I will definitely recommend the service to my family and friends.

I spoke with a rep from DirecTV who said they do not provide a wireless router (why on earth would they not provide a wireless router???). She did say that the installation people would help if I bought a wireless router. The cable people are here right now and I asked them if they could help and they offered very little help (pretty much just plugging it in). So essentially I was lied to about the installation people being able to help me set up my wireless router. Very poor service and help.

During a recent phone call to order DirecTV, it was a breeze. The representative made great deals and suggestions to what I needed based on my family needs. Hey, I had a bad experience with DISH. Thought I would try DirecTV. At first the rep was nice, but transferred me to a specialty person who could give me the best service. She tried to sell me everything over the moon for over an hour. I repeated told her I was elderly, small income just wanted the basics. Then I was transferred to CenturyLink for internet bundle. CenturyLink continued the push for extra more expensive service I could not afford. I am still not satisfied with CenturyLink, what happened to the $19.95?

Our installation technician was great! ** was very professional and kind at the same time! He would walk us through what he was going to do and asked if it was ok. And if I didn't understand what was what and what it was there for he would explain it. He never rushed me into finishing and leaving. When it came to explaining he would take his time so I could understand. He was awesome! He knew what he was doing! And very professional.. I would recommend him to all and anyone I know!

Overall, we are very satisfied thus far. Being senior citizens, we are not completely at ease with newer technology in all cases. I feel that as we get more familiar with DirecTV we will be more comfortable. I will say that the remotes are not as easy for us to use compared to other remote controllers we have used - too small.

DirecTV constantly overcharged me and I was having to call them each month to straighten it out. On one call a few months ago I was told I was eligible for a free new receiver. I asked if there would be any charge for installation or anything else and was told there wouldn't be. They connected me with another person to set up an appointment and after getting through I said for them to confirm there would be no charge. That person said there would be an installation fee in excess of $60. I said "forget it." A short while later someone called to confirm the appointment and I told them I had cancelled and why. They said they would waive that fee and there would be no charge. The service man brought the receiver and when done asked me to sign a sheet showing I'd received it. After additional problems I told them to cancel my service and at that time only did they tell me I had signed a contract for 2 years when I signed for the "free" receiver.
I am refusing to pay the $345.09 they are billing me for to complete the contract. I am going on 80 years old and feel I was duped. I would advise anyone to never use DirecTV and if they do to never accept any "free" whatever from them. I've spoken with others who have had similar issues with DirecTV. This actually had happened to me several years back when they had told me installation was free and when the man got here he told me it would be over $60. I told him to leave that I didn't want whatever it was he brought. Remembering that, I was very careful to make sure they weren't going to try to charge me like last time. You end of talking to usually 4 people when you call them with an issue and each one tells you something different. I am glad to be rid of them and will never use them again.

I agreed/ accepted DirecTV service on 5-13-15 with scheduled installation - 5-14-15, which was done promptly, as pledged!!! I am extremely pleased and enjoying my DirecTV service thus far; and feel strongly that this experience will be long lasting, and continue thru-out my service with DirecTV.

I received an automated call to set up an appointment that I understood had already been made. When I called the number given, I was directed to call another number that connected me with another company. I finally connected with a real person that answered my questions. I tried to explain earlier, but was told I used too much text. You asked for details then don't allow it.

When I connected with their $19.95 deal, it was not explained that my bill would almost double after one year. They were so accommodating in that, "oh, we'll give you a credit for that", but in reality they're just trying to get your commitment for a two year contract that they know will more than make up for the meager credit they might give you to sign up with them. It's totally misleading. Now I will have to pay $220 cancellation fee -- which is less than it will cost me to live out the contract. Way to go, DirecTV. You win. And by the way, they advertise all these channels you get, but then you realize that a large number of them are simply duplicates!. Such a scam.

They charged my credit card 176.76 claiming I order sports and a full season of baseball, plus some movies. First I don't watch sports AT ALL. Second I have not ordered movies from them. Fighting over the phone for 1 hour, and they kept on saying BS to me. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

Customer service is a dying commodity. Every time I call into DirecTV I am given a different account of what is happening with promotions on my account. I never receive the same answer or the same pricing. I auto debit a $120 out each month for service and just wish one time I could pick up the phone and believe what I was hearing on the other end. If I called and screamed or threatened to cancel they would roll out the red carpet, but if you just ask for a promotion they will not give you one. I witnessed our neighbor calling and asking for a service rudely and getting a promotion while I did not. #1 in customer service. How is that possible?
