The experience has been awesome from the start... placing the order... very helpful. Tech who installed my DirecTV was awesome, professional, efficient and very helpful. Follow up for letting my brother, who recommended DirecTV as well as myself have a $10 off. That was a nice surprise. I would definitely recommend DirecTV. They truly believe in customer service.

I ordered DirecTV over the phone. The order taker asked which channels I watched. I told her the 4 channels I liked, she said it came on the package. I ordered. Our installer ** came a few days later, and hooked us up. He is a great guy. He hooked us up, told us how to use it. I showed him we were Not getting 1 of the 4 channels I asked for. He apologized for something he didn't do. I felt angry because I now have to pay more money for a channel the Order Taker said we would get; however, I feel Blessed we had a great installer who had to fix it. Thanks **! Boo order taker!!!

Directv turns up the volume on the commercials. Their reps admit it. I found out that Directv has the FCC in its pocket. When I filed a proper complaint with the FCC, they rejected it saying that I needed to get other info which I had no access to. Also, when you call customer service to get help on something that is not working right, they sometimes transfer you from place to place, and then just cut the connection.

I don't like to be asked a lot of questions. I want to tell you what I want and you tell me what is available. I don't like to haggle so don't try to haggle with me or I will hang up. The last one I talked with helped me without trying to sell me more than I wanted. I appreciate that.

We rescheduled installation because of a schedule conflict on our end. The process was simple and easy. We got to choose a new date and time. If DirecTV continues to give us more than we expected, we will be ecstatic. If Direct continues to talk to us as if we are friends, we will continue to be friends.

My installer was fantastic. My house is a older house that was owned by people that ran cable very funky. My installer straightened it and made it work the best it ever has. Thank you for your dedication to doing a great job.

DirecTV is the worst!!! We got it installed in October and it does not work!! We had to take two whole days off of work for a technician to come out and "fix" our problem (not including the day it got installed) and it was never "fixed". There were many times we did not get service and had to go days without tv but still paid the bill. There was no reason for not getting the service (storms, not paying, etc.). The best was the day the tech came out to fix the tv, left and the tv still did not work. We would keep getting numbers that said the satellite was out. We pay for service that is not given to us, and promises are given that are not kept! Horrible service!!!

I'm moving from my apartment of 6 months not because I want to, but because I have to. My apartment is infested with bugs. I was able to get out of my lease because of this so I needed to transfer my DirecTV to my new address. It seemed simple enough, but when I called (you cannot do this online apparently), the representative (**) was pleasant enough at first but once she noticed my frustration, she became condescending and rude. I asked to speak with another rep and she said no. She said I needed to call back. She said it was not possible to speak to a supervisor. So I call back and speak with another rep who tells she is sorry and that she can transfer me to the moving dept to transfer my service. I was assisted by a nice rep BUT she couldn't hear me. I had to scream my info. I was calling from my office (land line) and asked her to call me back or transfer me and she could not.
I was told it would cost me $149.99 for a "transfer fee" to move it would also cost another $19.99 for "handling" fees. I'm not sure what a handling fee could possibly be since I will be the one moving the equipment. The rep said she could waive $100 of the fees to knock it down to $74.47. I guess this is doing me some big favor because I'm moving down the street and taking my SAME equipment. I don't understand the charges involved. My bill is over $150 monthly. I cannot process the idea of them needing to charge me that much more. Additionally, the time spent on the phone was over 60 minutes! I also must be home on a Tuesday, between 12-4pm to have the connection back on (they couldn't accommodate my move in date of May 31) so now I'll be missing 4 hours of work to be home as well. This is a painful move already and DirecTV has made it even more so.

I wanted to sign up for 1 more DVR device and was told all about the Genie. The guy told me several times it would not change my monthly bill but just the price for the extra TV. I made him repeat it on purpose. I was also told "no installation fee" several times. I was charged an EXTRA TV that I did not have AND an installation charge. I called to get it resolved and the lady told me it was and even gave me my new price. I still have a charge for the extra TV and installation charge. She made no changes. Including the other charges during set-up they tried to charge. This makes 4 times they lied to me.

I chose DIRECTV as I have several friends who have and have witnessed their experience which has been much better than with cable or dish tv. I have one friend who has had DIRECTV for many many years and they only lose signal in the very worst of storms. Very reliable service.

When I signed on, I inquired about the use of a dvr receiver but decided to possibly upgrade later after being told by the sales rep and installer that I could upgrade at any time and that I would be paying only a roughly $8 a month fee. I decided to upgrade after about 3 months and then found out that I would need more equipment totaling about $250. They would not budge on it. I called about this issue two more times but to no avail. Today, I cancelled and they finally said they would upgrade me with no equipment fee. I told them it was too late. I had tried to correct this issue three times and I have already installed their competitor. I owe them $20 a month for the year or so for not fulfilling my agreement.

I asked to have my services turned off because the prices went up so much. They shut it off a day earlier than they were suppose to. I checked my email and I had received an offer for a discount for service, offering me $200 cash back and a discount of $43 on the Ultimate package, all movie channels free for three months, and free sports. I called them and they told me that no such offer was available. Upon doing an internet search I found many people got this offer. Some people even scheduled disconnects just to get it and did get it. I honestly disconnected and got an email with the offer and I was told no. My account was never late and I was a good honest customer.

I received good customer service overall, I do think the sales tech needs a little review, but I did get all of the things I wanted as far as programs go. I have already advised someone to call you for new service. I was not happy that my installation was rescheduled without my being advised of the fact.

I have had DIRECTV for some time now. Never had trouble with channels coming in during storms and picture was good quality. The only issue I have is that when the bill came each month it was constantly going up and no one could give me an answer why. For the last 5 months each bill went up. One month it went up $50. I am sorry to say that I had enough of paying more each month so I have cancelled my plan with DIRECTV. I don't like being taken advantage of.

After several attempts to speak to a rep about my account which is a business acct, I finally got a very knowledgeable, patient and friendly service rep who was helpful in completing my service request. The technicians who came out to do the service were extremely friendly and professional; explained how to use the guide, etc.

I made the decision to change TV, "bundling" internet and home phone with AT&T, due to change in financial status. Hopefully the quoted prices will hold true so I can maintain services. Also changing mobile carrier to AT&T. Installation representative very helpful.

I was at first a little misled about the actual costs of DirecTV - the ad was not what I thought it represented & the initial salesperson may have assumed I was aware of how the services were billed & how the service was operated. Having never had this service myself I was a little naive but as I spoke to more salespersons the more experienced members were very upfront & clear. They were not rude or unkind, but informative. It made my long term billing issues clear so I could make an informed decision & not have any surprises down the road.

I disconnected DirecTV. I was angry because they raised my bill again, twice in a year’s time. I had a refund coming. They called me every day for a week after being told it was done and to stop service. The refund was for over $50.00. They kept up the reinstate calls for a week and deducted each day till they had me down to $17. They sent me a Visa debit I had to activate to get my refund, but if I activate I'm automatically opening another account. I cut it up! Finally fed up with the calls I said just stop my service and close my account. They said ok it'll be disconnected again. I got an email, finally, telling me they'd closed my account. I checked and had been locked out of the account because it was finally closed.
They asked for their receiver cards back, I sent them. This morning my checking was charged $19.75. Why, because the receiver ID card said there were movies on the account six years ago that I wasn't charged for. Now, that's impossible, even if someone tried to order Pay Per View. I have no phone lines. I can't received it, I told them that when it was put in. How can they charge me for movies I can't get? Well, their answer to me is… well, maybe there was a disconnect at that time. Or maybe someone else ordered it. I couldn't get Pay Per View without telephone lines. I went to the old account to find my once closed account had been opened, the movies added to the account. They used my debit card to remove money from my account without authorization. I didn't let them do that when I paid each month. I had it set up for me one-time payment each month. They didn't have permission to do that. That is illegal!

Moved and was offered Genie service at no additional cost. I was told it would be a swap of old technology for new technology. Found out the hard way that I'm paying monthly for the Genie service and have signed a new 2 year agreement. Watch out for bill creep. I'm being charged $30 more since 2 months ago for same services (programming and devices).

Well here we are, in the middle of a bad thunder storm, looking at a "signal lost in Satellite 1" message on the TV. Why? Because every time it rains, DirecTV's signal goes out. It might be nice to see the weather channel when there's a storm out!! Besides the signal, the representatives will tell you anything for a sale. We were told we would have home internet with our package. It wasn't until the installer drilled a hole in the side of our house that we were told Internet "wasn't available in our area". Really? In an Atlanta suburb?? Because of this, "On Demand" doesn't work unless we use our personal Hotspot - which runs our phone bill up. Don't let them tell you about locked in rates for a year. Our bill has already increased $20 in 6 months. DirecTV is a joke. I wish I would've never got locked down in a contract with them! 1 1/2 years to go, then back to what we had before.

I am looking forward to viewing DirecTV's programming. So far so good. I have TWC here in Brownsville, Texas and have been a loyal customer for over 20 years but I am not happy with the overall cost. I decided to try DirecTV in San Antonio, Texas because you offer the internet there but have no internet provider in the Brownsville, Texas area. I would eventually change to DirecTV here when you have an internet provider.

There was a misunderstanding about when my service would be installed at my vacation home. Everyone at Directv worked very hard to resolve the problem and get my service in place in time for my son's holiday vacation. The man that did the installation was EXCELLENT. He did a great job and made sure everything was working on all 4 TVs. Everyone that I have spoken to at Directv has been very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend Directv to anyone.

I was very unhappy initially with the 2 reps. They were forcing me into a 2 year contract that I didn't want because the service is for our 2nd home so I just wanted go back to the service we had 6 months ago. So I spoke to a manager named ** who was very helpful and worked with me. Everything was resolved.

I have been a loyal customer who ordered a lot of PPV sports events and movies for 5 yrs with DirecTV. When called Directv to let them know that I will be moving to another country they flat out told me that they will send me a box to put the receiver mail the box back to them. I told them when will the Tech be coming over to disconnect the wiring from the dish and they said they DON'T. Who in the right mind of a company will leave hot wire or make an unlicensed electrician or technician responsible for disconnecting their products. LIABILITY. My final impression of this company is they will send a tech the next day to install but as soon as you don't need their service they ** ON YOU... NEVER WILL I EVER DO BUSINESS OR RECOMMEND THIS SO CALLED COMPANY. DISH NETWORK WILL BE MY PLACE OF INTEREST IF I NEED CABLE.

I have been a DIRECTV Customer for a little over a year. I have had nothing but problems with their On-Demand service. It absolutely sucks. Time Warner was much more reliable. I wish I would have never gotten this crap. And when I called them to help they just blamed the Internet Provider. Every other device in my house is wireless and work fine, except their "Genie". I am going to put this "Genie" back in its box and go back to Time Warner as soon as I can. DON'T GET DIRECTV!!! IT'S NOT WHAT THEY PROMISED!

Because I am having a new roof installed I wanted the dish to be mounted on a pole rather than on the roof and DirecTV was able to work out a financially acceptable solution to that installation.

I switched to DirecTV from Comcast and THAT WAS A BIG MISTAKE! DirecTV has the worst customer service I have encountered in a very long time! It's like going back 20 years! To DirecTV customer service; It's not complicated, if someone has a concern, problem, etc. Fix it, that's all a consumer wants. Don't spew out policies and procedures what happened, what didn't happen. Listen to the customer and make their problem go away. My experience to date with DirecTV is they just add more problems, things to do, hassle on the consumer's end and hide behind policy. I want to work with a company that makes my life easier not harder!

DirecTV has got to have the worst sales people ever. They are more like used car salesmen who don't listen and try to push everything onto you. However, that said, the new account customer service was fantastic. I'd give one star for sales and five for customer service. Oh, and the installation guy was LAZY! As soon as he got here, he kept trying to get me to call and rearrange my installation for another day (with someone else). Said he thought the ladder may be too short (have a two-story home), and that I couldn't get service until DirecTV transferred my internet the next day.
I called customer service and they told me to put the service guy on the phone. I had internet working with Comcast. The customer service person told the service guy that he was crazy and he could set up the cable with or without the internet. A huge fiasco. After the call, guess what? The installer suddenly found that he could install the cable. Took him four hours, but at least he did it. Lazy, Lazy, lazy. Totally bad experience.

We were told that if we signed a 2 year contract we would have a low rate for the first year and then it would go up to approximately $90. Our bill has miraculously jumped to over $120 per month with no additional services. Additionally, any time you REALLY need your tv to work (i.e. There is a tornado warning and you need the details of where it is) your DirecTV service will go out until the danger has passed. Due to the length of time required to be on the phone with them to fix the simplest of problems I will most likely continue overpaying them and just consider it a lesson learned. The other option is paying their ridiculous early termination fee just to be free of them, which I am also considering. I guess they knew ahead of time that consumers would be unhappy doing business with them so they implemented a fee to make it undesirable to switch companies.

The only thing that we didn't like is the installer placed the base of the dish on the roof and then realized it was in the wrong place. Then put another base up there about 12 inches away. So now we have 2 bases on the roof... eye sore.

I had an issue which I called about and Directv sent out two repairman. Both the tvs in question were in completely separate areas, one outside and one inside in the upstairs. I was the only one home at the time. Never did I think there was going to be a problem just getting my service repaired! Service was repaired. I was off work the following day so didn't take notice to something very near and dear to my heart... a Pandora bracelet with 10 charms on laying on my nightstand given to me by my husband, with charms from my husband, kids, and two grandsons... GONE!!! Both of these men were in the bedroom alone at different times. I called Directv and they said someone would call me back ASAP. I got a call an hour later and was told I would get another call for more info. It's been 24 hours and still have heard nothing. Never again will I allow two servicemen here and I won't ever take my eyes off of them. I am extremely disgusted with the customer service.

So far, it's been a very pleasurable relationship with DirecTV. My equipment hasn't yet been installed, so I'll hold off on my final opinion until my service is up and running. But as of today so far, so good!

Let me just start by saying directv couldn't pay me to use their service. I called 5/23/15 at 6:26 pm west coast time and I spoke with a lady who was nice but definitely a car salesmen. Anyways fast forward she ran my credit qualified me for a package and because I still wanted to call around and make sure I was getting the best deal and didn't not want to pay a "$1" to hold the quote unquote deal I was given. She then gave the phone to a supervisor who was a male. I can't remember his name but he was rude, very unprofessional, pushy and mad because I told him like I told her "I don't want to give you guys my credit card information until I'm a 100% sure sold on Y'ALL."
Anyways he gave me the reason why I should. It didn't matter what he told me. No means no and I didn't want to give that info to him right this second. Anyways I told him I would call back after speaking with my dad and making sure I want to go with them and he said "We'll still put down the dollar" and I said no and he's like "Well fine call back and it may be higher than what we quoted you. We would love to take your money" and hung up on me. I called some number back to file a complaint through the mail and please believe I am going to. You're getting paid to provide customer service to a potential account holder and your attitude sucks. Never will I deal with this company on any level.

The Service Tech that came out was here just 5 min and never even took a ladder out. Then said the dish would not work here. I would have felt better if they at least tried another location and maybe higher on the house. Maybe I'm just from the old school where you try a little harder w/ more effort.

Been a customer since 2008 so I'm called a GREAT customer and I'm VALUED which sounds great until you try to get what you asked for many times. New location means I could not have DirecTV for one year but moved into new house for a few months until mine was ready where I am now. So I ordered DirecTV. So happy. But main box had issues and after 30 days of hearing "Technicians are fixing the issue" for a month where the system just froze or did not record in total the movie you requested after maybe 4 or 5 calls to fix it. It was clear I had no choice but to wait. Well house was complete so I moved and in doing so, I got new system and got credit for the few months mine basically did not work. So I'm all happy at that point!
Somehow the technician only was told to bring two remote units and one master unit. I explained and he said "Oh well they will just mail it too you then and it's ready to go to just hook up." It never came and I was not super concerned on timing because it was just the extra room and friend was not moving in for 30 days and as it turned out, did not care if TV was there or not. But after some time I still called in for various reason and asked about needing other device and last time was like 30 days ago which is 5 months after the first move in by the way. So today I had to call because my auto payment did not go through which I proved to them it had to be on their end because same card works and no balance and all good on my end as they put the balance due through even today.
So I asked about the device I wanted and now they tell me I need to pay $99 and $49 to install it but would have been free if I got it within the first 30 days. How amazing. I'm the great customer but they have no records of me asking many times. So today I had the turn of department look up the master device ID number I still have from long ago because the technician forgot to take it with him and they have NO record of it. Amazing I have it and was saving it to give back so it again proves it comes down to humans and what is typed in for proof. So I'm told to just put in trash which I did while I was waiting for the NICE guy trying to find a way to help me. He in the end could not and I was amazed because I'm a GREAT customer since 2008. So no records of me calling means I pay? WRONG. I told him easier for me to turn off. I can go to COX or APPLE TV or more options now.
I just needed a small remote box and they continue getting the $118.36 per month but now I'm being forced to disconnect and I'm still the GREAT customer they said I was. So is this good business sense or bad? Tell me what to do. I hate to lose what I recorded but then again life repeats or goes on as I survived during the 2 months my device never worked. And it turned out to be a bad unit, not the technician's issue. So sad. Could have just sent me a new one faster back then. So turn off and then get offered great deals to come back as a GREAT customer lol. Wow I could not have made this up any better than real life.
I'm going to copy this and post it to be sure it gets to a good site where maybe just maybe the right person see's the right choice was to get me a new device and forget about acting as if I'm trying to scam the system because that is how they made me feel - like I'm a con artist and not the GREAT customer they first stroked me with. But it worked. I felt good at first. :) ** here is the cell number to see if they respond directly.

I have never experienced anything so difficult or bad service in any service that I have ever had for anything. Nightmare does not do justice to the experience that we have had with DirecTV. We signed up for one thing and received another and was basically told to live with it or cancel it. Not once was anything mentioned about what could be done to fix it or resolve it. I am absolutely disgusted in your service and your company.

Back in March, I changed our DTV package from the Ultimate ($89.99) down to the Entertainment ($59.99). Then we 'mysteriously' had issues in April with our DVR so we called and got a new one shipped to us (great service there). Plugged it all in, life was good. Got the bill and our package had been changed back to the Ultimate package. We never asked them to do that and when I called to inquire as to whom had authorized the change, they had nothing in their notes. Then in the credit process, the customer service guy tried to add on an add'l $6 for prorated service... that we didn't order! He waived the fee (how kind), but didn't seem happy that I was on top of the charges and already knew what I was supposed to be paying. Went from $122.00 to $91 and change. WATCH YOUR BILLS PEOPLE - check those fees. How many people don't and just blindly pay the total due? DTV makes enough $$.

After 3 days trying to set up an account for my yacht with DirecTV still no luck. This company is impossible. If the money they spent advertising were spent to train their people it will be great. Is this how corporate America should work? None of these people either their supervisors know what they're doing. This is the worst experience I had with a company so far. If you own stock please sell it because I don't think they will have any future the way they are going. If somebody needs to spend 4 hours on the phone with idiots that transfers call from one to the other in order to get service then I am sorry but this company should be out of business and the CEO should be a shoemaker.

I called because I had moved from a house (sold it) and into an apartment that required me to get DirecTV through them. It was easy to cancel my original contract and the rep was trying so hard to find a way that I wouldn't have to cancel because it saved me money but it wasn't doable. Then when the rep for complex came to install the equipment in the apartment, I found out that I could use my original equipment (NO ONE told me that) and they ended up having to cancel the contract through the complex and switching back to my original contract but changing the terms. Anyway, DirecTV worked really well with me and so far, no complaints.

The installer did not protect my room during installation. Blown insulation from the attic was scattered throughout all my clothes and shoes and significant carpeted area. Got major runaround. Talked to more than 8 reps. Issue remains unresolved. Worst service ever!

There was a competitor installation next to my installation and it looked like a handyman special with wires clumsily hanging everywhere. My installation had no untied or dangling wires and was very neatly done. Great job!

While my phone interactions weren't the greatest, I would like to add that the technician who came to install my service was excellent. He was polite, friendly, and efficient. He took time to answer all my questions and explained everything very clearly and completely, offering information that was very useful. He represented DirecTV in a very positive light! Once again I will say that all of the reps I spoke with were very friendly and polite; it just seemed that the handling of my situation wasn't as smooth or efficient as it should have been.

Moving from Verizon - The first sales girl from Lubbock, TX led me to believe that I could call Verizon for a bundle price. Verizon said no. The second rep explained how to accomplish this in my favor. He was very patient. I think it will work out. We will see...

Even though I chose not to install DirecTV, I was happy with the promotion. The issue really revolved around the satellite receiver because I live in a townhouse. Even though I own it, I was hesitant to put the satellite dish on common land. I would have anyway had not AT&T U-Verse offered me a good deal. I was done with Cox. It is likely I will request your service later either when my promotion expires or I am not happy with the final deal.

We have been customers now off and on for 15 years. For the past couple years we have prepaid our bill for the year. This year because of all of the discounts falling off at different times we were only able to prepay till November. That's the first beef I have, I'm so tired of not knowing what my bill is going to be month to month because of stupid discounts. So anyway we have called in multiple times to try and get our bill down because as of today we have gone up 4.00. So my husband called and the gal first told my husband that she can get us the ultimate package with HD for 68.00.
We were very excited because not only was our bill going down but we were also gaining encore. Then she gets back on and says "I'm sorry I can't get you the package for that price because you don't actually qualify for the 31.00 for 8 months discount" that she offered originally. Then after we decided to go to the ultimate package and we explained we wanted to keep the Hd channels she told us how much our bill would be. It was still high but we decided to go with it and just look into another provider.
After being clear that we want to keep Hd channels she removes it which caused us to have to call in again and ended up having the rep tell us it was going to be 134.00 with HD being added. Why? Why is it your company screws up and I end up getting screwed for your mistakes? What I want is what I currently have and I want it at the original price I was offered which is the 68.00. I'm tired of feeling like I'm not valued as a customer and if things don't get better I'm going to take my business elsewhere...

I was notified by HOA that new rules were in effect for the community and it was now a requirement to have the satellites removed. I called and spoke with reps and supervisors and they refused to work with me on the early termination fee which was 20.00 for every month not completed for the contract. Horrible way to treat their customer considering the situation was uncontrollable.

I talked to a guy to set up my service and gave me a great price for what I wanted. I don't like people get charged if they decide they don't want the movie channels before the three months is up. I called to inform they can't hook up the dish to the apartment and ** from El Paso, TX was amazing. This guy was so nice and made this Veteran very thankful there are people like him helping others.
