Ordered new service from DirecTV, I have been with Dish since they started. I hope DirecTV lives up to what I have been told. So far the service has been excellent.

We have had DIRECTV for 14 years. In 2014, we purchased an HDTV, so we contacted DIRECTV and purchased an HD receiver and the service with an agreed rate of 108 a month. After 18 months, DIRECTV decided they would raise the rate, when I contacted them their only reason was "everyone got a rate increase". I told them I would pay them as per our contract or they could shut off the service and we would part ways. Two days later my service was off. Today, two months later, I received a nasty gram stating I owed them 157 dollars and if I did not pay immediately, they would take the monies from my account without my permission. I just called them and spoke with **. He again threatened me, then when I explained I had contacted an attorney, he began to scream at me that they had a right to do as they please. Stay away from these people.

Your service was installed in Cape May, NJ. Installer was professional, pleasant to talk to, and was very knowledgeable on not only his product but how to integrate your system into my closet configuration. He was able to put the dish on that part of the roof least noticeable by neighbors and was able to run the feed lines in a very unobtrusive manner. GOOD JOB!

Salesperson gave me wrong price for what I ask for only to find out when the tech came to install. Cancelled installation then I called Customer Service and got someone who understood the situation and was able to help me. That's why I decided to go with DirecTV.

Customer service and consideration of customer's time is totally lacking. Consistency in what you are being told/sold is non-existent. After a combined time of over 6 hours on the phone with DirecTV, 6 representatives and resolution specialists, it seems that the only resolution with Direct TV is to cancel and go to another provider. (A) Bait-and switch-tactics which should be reported to local State Attorney General. (B) Deceptive advertising, again FCC or State Attorney General. Nothing should be this difficult to get a straight answer, decent customer service and the bottom line amount of your bill. What a shame because the product of DirecTV is actually a solid product but if you can't get through the customer service portion, get a definitive answer on appointments, costs and in-home product even after 6 hours on the phone and trying to get through the automated service then it's just not worth it.

Knowledge of needs and online promotions made experience delightful for a retired old man that has little experience with today's technology. One exception: We placed the order around midnight and the final process, talking with the man that finalize the bundle, proceeded with order without permission by not discussing additional cost of installation. His comment, "I don't know how they could have had no installation cost and I don't know what they (DirecTV salesperson) are going to do about it". The package promotion is no cost for installation. I see the $99.00 installation fee was charged to ATT for a services that I have had for two years. ATT denies confirmation that was furnished by DirecTV. Really don't understand but I have brought this to the attention of your salespersons three times and to make sure there is no problems to concern myself with.

Transferred service then cancelled it due to a better offer - was still supposed to be installed 6/1/15 with new offer, but somewhere along the line that installation got cancelled so I called to find out where installer was and had to reschedule for this Thurs, June 4th. I've missed my TV this week so am anxiously awaiting installation!!

DirecTV charged me close to 300 dollars for two cable boxes. Shortly after that, they have charged me 68 dollars a month for their services. After 4 months, I have paid close to 600 dollars to DirecTV for tv alone. After calling and asking for a cancellation, they informed me that they will charge me $20 a month for the remainder of my contract which is finalized in 2017.

I was inspired to search for a better rate, due to my cable fee having continuous increases. I placed my original order with a person name **, who was very professional, knowledgeable, and kind. Unfortunately, my apartment complex does not allow a dish on our patios. I then spoke with a person named **, who was very understanding and kind in assisting me with my cancellation. My overall experience was really pleasant, of which I will share my experience with others. Thank you very much.

I had been with them for many years and since the divorce, him and his new wife have blocked me out of my account and I can't get service since I have service. When someone that has your social security card and a new wife it's harder to get into Dish Network when your identification is stolen than a credit card company!! The rep said it was for my protection and I don't feel that way, I had to say the password he put on it and I'm like “Really? He and his new wife put him on my account to control my life and DirecTV backs them not the contract holder?”

When I purchased DirecTV I also was told about the wireless alarm system and that it would include 4 window alarms but did not mention anything about the doors. When the installer came I only had a total of 4 alarms which was not enough for the doors and windows.

The girl I talked to on 06/01/2015 was awesome! There was a mix up on the installation date and she wasn't the one who messed it up and kept apologizing and when I told her it wasn't her that made the error, she told me they were a 'team' at DirecTV and they all took responsibility for each other's mistakes. I think her name was **? Anyway, she made it right immediately. She is a class act!!!

In the past, when there was bad weather I would lose signal and that was the reason I had change to digital cable, but the representative has told me that they have upgraded the dishes and program. I will have to see if that is the case.

First installer acted as if the job was too big for him. He was originally scheduled from 12-4 but ended up coming at 10:30 or so after doing my neighbors and had many reasons why the Dish couldn't be installed and wanting to sell me the "genie system" due to the amount of wiring needed to be run because he didn't want to use the old wiring. We have another installer scheduled for this upcoming Friday 6/5/15 so hopefully the job will be completed.

I currently have DISH and called to see what kind of offer I could have with DirecTV. IT WAS AWESOME! I tried to get out of my contract with nasty DISH but it would have cost me $440.00 upfront in order to do so. I am stuck with DISH for now but will be a DirecTV future customer for sure! HATE DISH...just hate them!

The installer was terrific. Did everything efficiently; hardly knew he was here. Great communication and "turn over" when he was done. Gave a comprehensible explanation of the remote usage and the features of the software. Can't recommend highly enough. Contact with the sales staff was also quick and to the point but the installer was a 5-star!

Somebody messed up on scheduling the installer. The guy who was sent for the job had not been scheduled. He was called after he already finished his day. He has a wonderful sense of duty and should be commended for doing a great job. You are lucky to have him working for you. If he worked for me I would give him a pay raise.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE! If you are contemplating on signing up with DIRECTV, do yourself a favor and DON'T DO IT! Yeah sure, the first year is GREAAAT with all the fun discounts they give and 3 months free this and 3 months free that... but once that time is over, you will find yourself paying up the "you know what" for all the extra fees that are now full price. Of course, remember, you will be locked in a 2 year contract, so good luck trying to cancel without penalty, because it's not happening. After my 2 years, and paying upwards of $120 for a mid-range package (no internet or NFL tickets or movies) I had to come to the realization that that rate was too high for what I was getting. So, when I tried to see what "deals" they could offer me before I cancel, they said "sorry, I can't even take off $10 dollars..." OK then, good bye to DIRECTV it was.
After cancelling, not only did I receive numerous (annoying) calls about why I cancelled, I also received all these wonderful options to have cable at $19.99/month! WOW, would have been awesome if you would have offered this to me when I was cancelling just days sooner! Then of course, after my last and final bill was posted, I thought my wallet would enjoy the break, BUT to my surprise, I receive a bill of $51?! After calling to try to make sense of this charge, the agent advised it was information taken from my device/box from a fight I order 3 YEARS AGO! Are you kidding me?!
The manager didn't care to help, only quoted policy and to explain it was in the contract... although funny how it was never mentioned when I was cancelling. After trying to dispute the charge, I was basically sent a cold reply "The charges are in accordance to 'customer agreement' and NO portion of the disputed amount will be refunded". Needless to say, they do not care to ever have me as a customer again.

The day I was scheduled for installation I discovered my new apartment complex did not allow satellites. I hastily called the 800 number to cancel. The customer service rep, **, was awesome! He took care of the cancellation and was extremely pleasant to deal with.

I am a loyal customer of DirecTV. I contacted Direct to see if I was eligible for any of the deals they were offering new customers. I have been with Direct for over two years. I was told there was nothing they could do for me. When I stated that I could a better deal elsewhere, they transferred me to a retention specialist. I spoke to a very nice rep who reduced my bill from $101.00 to $54.00. This was in March of 2015. That month my bill reflected the change. In April, my bill was back to the $100. I called and they said that March bill should not have been adjusted. I spoke to several people until I was transferred and they said the bill would not be adjusted. It was not.
The same thing happened in May. My bill is automatically drafted. Each time the amount they promised to draft was not what they drafted. It was higher. Today, June 1, 2015, I was told the deductions were a one-time only offer and they cannot reduce my bill as promised. Not only did they lie to keep me, but they did so for two months and then they drafted more from my account then what agreed. I will be canceling my service based on the fact that, to me, how they handled my situation was a bit shady. It would have been nice if one person had at least apologized to me for being told that my new bill would lower.

Customer service was 10/10. Sales experience left me feeling deceived. Agent was either ignorant to the pricing of your product or was being intentionally vague just to get me to sign up. Very pushy to get the order, repeatedly telling me that I could cancel if I changed my mind. This was corrected the next day by Customer Service or I would have cancelled for sure.

Took too long to get actual sales rep. Was disconnected or hung up on once. Then got a guy very unprofessional. I was then disconnected again . Finally got a Sales rep and she did not speak or understand English. Looked at email and the wireless set up was not on invoice. Had to call back. Got ** and he was very helpful and took care of everything. Hoping that all will be fine with installation tomorrow. This is where we stand now. Just know that ** was great and would deal with him if possible again!

Per instructions from my order placed on 5/27 I tried to request my gift card online. When I attempted to print the form as instructed my screen went blank and I could not bring the form back up. I called and was told that I would get a hard copy AFTER installation. If this is the case the screen online should state to try again after installation. I was satisfied to learn that I would be able to register later. I never give an individual a 10, 9 is my top score, no one is perfect!

Throughout I was impressed by the quality of the service. Staff are patient and knowledgeable, careful to ensure that everything is clear and all questions have been answered satisfactorily. I also needed help with a problem that was due to my own confusion and the representative was very patient and walked me through everything until we figured out what I had been doing wrong.

The most thing that I like about the service you get just what you ask for with no problems. Directv works with you to meet all of your programming needs even waits for you to make up mind, they do not rush you at all. What's really AWESOME IS THE PRICE OF THE PROGRAMMING PACKAGES. The only way the price will change is if you add more things to what you have. Other than that the prices do not keep changing on you every month... like other providers do. THANKS DIRECTV YOU'RE THE BEST.

I called only one day before my installation to ask for additional equipment to be installed and the whole process was easy and my installer had the equipment on his truck, (even though I didn't give them much advance notice), and was ready and prepared for the changes in the install.

Every time it rains we lose signal. Every time it's windy we lose signal. Sometimes it's not raining or windy just cloudy and we lose signal. Never had these issues with cable or u-verse. Definitely would not recommend Direct TV to anyone. When it's raining that's when we want to come inside to watch tv but can never watch a whole program without losing signal - have to watch on computer through wifi - no weather-related issues there.

SO FAR I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH DIRECTV. I have HD TV'S in 4 rooms and the picture quality is by far the best. I also like the idea of how many programs you can record at the same time and still watch another channel. Of course I have only had it for a week. But glad I got it. VERY HAPPY.

I had a very good overall experience with DirecTV. I had 1 issue with wireless receivers......but it was of my own doing. I knocked the plug loose when moving TV back into its place........Technician walked me through it on the phone....thank goodness it was simple! Thank You for your overall service. Had a working receiver in the house and could not hook it up to existing cables. Would have to replace all of the cables. There was no way he could have got to them as they were all under house with about 1 1/2 foot clearance under the house where the cables were originally. We live in a manufactured home and I told you that when we ordered it and you said that would not be a problem.

Basically, I was not in the building and the technician installed the equipment where he shouldn't have even though the landlord told him not to. As a result, not only we can't get service but we also have to pay a cancellation fee of $460 for one week of service. Guess what, I am filing a case at the small claims court. Stay away from DirecTV.

Both the salesman and service rep were good. Both knew the product and answered any questions I had. The salesman was a little pushy on the sale for my taste but working in sales I know he was just doing his job. The service rep was awesome because she also knew about all of the packages and gave me great reasons to stay but it was a decision I had to make with roommates and later in the summer, we may end up going back to DIRECTV and if that is the case, ** will be a big reason why. It is nice to have customer service reps who are approachable and informative and she was both.

From the very first call to DirecTV, I received great customer service. Every question was answered in detail. And repeated if needed. ** installed my DirecTV and went through the remote and showed me how to use it and tape shows. He was very polite and very patient. Great customer service. When I signed up for DirecTV I was not informed that it is a 2 year contract, which I had specifically ask not to have. When they sent me the customer agreement, it also did not state that it is a 2 year commitment (even their new customer agreement does not state this). It is hidden in their equipment lease agreement which you have to click a link from the customer agreement to access. The equipment lease agreement says the early termination fee is $480.00 if you have DVR/HD and $240.00 if you have basic receivers (which is what I have).
When I cancelled my service they charged me a $320.00 prorated fee which it would have been if I had DVR/HD. When I called to ask why it wasn't the $240 prorated, their response was that was only for existing customers. Apparently I wasn't an existing customer? Not sure what I am then. Poor customer service, poor explanation, rip off of on cancellation fees. Would not recommend to anyone. Dish customers are much happier, I was warned and didn't listen.

Placing and canceling the order were positive experiences. Asking for details and clarification were troubling. Agent would talk over and make up answers that I knew were untrue or at least skirting the truth. All issues became moot when I was advised I had to go to a specific company - MDE - to order.

We were told on the initial sale that you had bundle partners in our area, unfortunately the only one you have is Verizon, and not the others that we were told. We've signed up with hughesnet as we were told they were one of the bundle partners in our area. They are not so we were unable to get a bundle discount. ** went above and beyond and gave 50.00 off Of our first month's bill. Although it is not even close to what we were expecting to save with a bundle package, it is very much appreciated. The customer service was flawless.

So far DIRECTV has been very professional. An initial response on quality of actual use is not possible at this time. The initial sales call was based on offers from the mailer I received. The sales experience was excellent until extra fee(s) were added. The service call is what I am certain customers always expect. Very professional, as was e-mails following the service changes, which based on my needs, actually saved me money and educated me on differences in different available services. I hope installation and viewing are as smooth because the alternative is no broadcast TV at all. I am happy my neighbors have so many DIRECTV connections!
