The knowledge between veteran and new reps are too far apart... catching a good rep will make or break a customer's experience with DirecTV.

I have had DirecTV for approximately 5 years. My bill continued to go up & up. I called them to see what they could do and the price quoted was actually higher than what I was already paying. I canceled my account through CenturyLink and paid what I thought was my final bill. A month later I'm receiving another bill from DirecTV charging me for an extra month of service I didn't receive.

I had to call and tell them someone had compromised my Mastercard, resulting in cancelling my order. The bank denied payment to you. My new card should be here by tomorrow.

From the customer service to the technician who install the equipment, they are all so excellent. Customer service tried to gave me the best deal and the installer was respectable and explains everything. If I have a question he explains it to me.

Had initially contacted Direct to inquire about possibly subscribing; this contingent upon current provider rectifying some issues. The issues were rectified and so we elected to stay with current provider. However, our experience with Direct was pleasant and very professional. We definitely will consider Direct should the need ever arise. Thanks.

Everything went well. All my answers were answered. The technician cleaned up after himself. He was very polite. He wasn't a weirdo. He also went over the whole package that I purchased. He was even nice enough to call DIRECTV and see if I wanted to get a better package.

The techs were friendly and did an excellent job setting up the dish, the cable and programming the TV. I was very pleased with the installation. However, I was not pleased with the communication between the sales rep. who took the information for the installation because she misinformed me that I was getting a bundle in one installation. The techs were also misinformed and directed me to call a number to correct the problem.

I DID NOT have a direct deposit account set up with DirectV but before I could pay my last bill they withdrew the money out of the bank account I used to pay my account with online. DirectV drew the payment out of my account WITHOUT my permission or knowledge!! Upon discovering the withdrawal I contacted my bank and they immediately investigated the issue and found that I was in fact correct so they recovered the payment amount back from DirectV. To date, DirectV has continued to recover the money they attempted to illegal obtain out of my account. Since DirectV illegally withdrew out of my account I believe they don't deserve the money they illegally withdrew, instead they should have to release me of any debt in light of their illegal actions, or I should be allowed to file a claim against them for illegally withdrawing out of my account.

After 9 years with DirecTV I called in because I was moving. I had only three months left on my current contract and they wanted to charge me to move. I wanted to cancel my account so customer service transferred me to retention. After talking to the retention department they offered to waive the fee to move and keep my bill to 60 dollars per month. After receiving my bill I noticed that my bill is going to change after the 3 months is up and it is going to 90 dollars for 2 years. I have called in several time and DirecTV acknowledges that the offer the retention rep. gave me the wrong but they are not willing to correct it because the offer is up and I have already moved. So now my bill is going to be 90 dollars for the next two years and it will cost me over 500 dollars to cancel DirecTV now that I have moved.

Wasn't impressed with first installer. He told me I had to remove a branch and I did what he requested. But the second installer told me I had to remove more branches. It would be helpful if all installers were on the same page and use the same equipment to determine the access, the signal. By having to bring the tree service out twice, it got rather expensive...which didn't make me very happy. The final installer was the most helpful and informative.

My only issue with DirecTV is how the cost goes up with time and the need for a 2 year contact. I only went back to Comcast, because they offered a much lower price without a contract. They did not raise prices for 3 years.

Debated making the switch for at least six months. When my Comcast service reached $200 plus a month, I knew I wasn't going to pay $2400 a year for TV. I had no premium channels, but the price continued to go up and became unaffordable. I'm trusting DirecTV's pricing guidelines and look forward to having a more comfortable bill each month.

Signed with DirecTV in August 2014. I have had 3 service calls to fix satellite signal. Consistently lose signal with minimum cloud cover or minor sprinkle. The picture freezes up every 10-15 min. No resolution. Worst service I ever had.

These people were great. Very nice and polite. They did a great job. The people that called from another country was very bad. Not their fault. They can not speak or understand English. I could not understand them. You wasted your money because two installers came out on two different days.

I would recommend DirecTV to my family and friends, most definitely. The packages they offer are great and when you first sign up, the promotions are definitely worth the switch from current provider. They have excellent sales representatives and customer service, very friendly and courteous. They offer more channels in your very basic package than our current provider. Overall very satisfied.

The ordering process was easy, primarily because I could call and ask questions, and also browse the DirecTV website for packages and options. No heavy pressure to order over the phone. I appreciated that. The installation went very well. Installer provided me the options available for the placement of the disk. We worked to select the best location for US, the homeowner. He was very professional and with the install complete...WE LOVE DIRECTV!

I was trying to set up a new account and needed to get a lot of information. I was on the phone for over an hour. The first representative, **, was very helpful. When I had to call back, I asked for ** since he knew my situation, but I was told no one knew who he was, so I had to explain my situation all over again. The second person was also very helpful, but setting up the account was very time consuming for me. But, all in all, I would recommend DirecTV.

I bought this policy to cover my entertainment equipment and computer. I assumed that when I bought it that Directv would cover my equipment as promised. The plan boasted that they had a three-day turnaround. First in January my brand new remote stopped working. Only then did I find out that I must first wait for a mailing label, then mail it from Idaho to Connecticut. The gal assured me that I would get it back in three days. She also said they had hundreds of remotes just sitting there so they could respond quickly. Right away that was a crock, it took three weeks.
Now I had a mac air that would not start. I went to the Apple store hoping for a quick fix. They offered to send it to Salt Lake. I doubted that it could be fixed. But even counting the day I took it in, it took three days and they put over 1,000 worth of parts in it for $280. I went to Directv to get the $280 reimbursement only they denied my request. They said I must send the equipment to them. I have read the terms and conditions. Nowhere on the website does it mention this procedure. It says directv may require them to fix it but I see nowhere in the terms where it says that. This is a complete scam and completely unworkable for the customer.

DirecTV is awful to deal with! I called for a friend to get them signed up and they would not accept the 'refer a friend' discount and the Kohl's gift card even though they did both for my account. The person that I spoke to was rude on the phone to me and then I was told I had to be put on hold so they could find a computer that was up and running properly. At that point I just hung up.
I called back later and was told I could not call for my friend to sign them up for service unless my friend was around to verify. Just not easy and pleasant to deal with. A lot of run around and different stories. They also magically signed me up for $7.99 a month equipment protection that I had to call and cancel and luckily they waived the $10 cancel fee because I never knew I was being enrolled in the program! Watch them. They will get you where they can! Pushy sales people too!

I am very happy with DirecTV. My only concern is that when it rains/storms, the TV goes out. The tech. told me that will happen though, so it's not like I didn't know it. And, I'm only thinking of that now because it's clouding up. But that's the weather part of it and can't be helped. For everything else, I'm happy.

I called just to ask a question about DirecTV service. I had it years ago but went back to cable TV. I recently had some issues with my cable company and decided to look into changing over to satellite. When I called I was greeted by a clear-spoken male which had no accent that I could understand perfectly. There is nothing worse than calling a company and getting someone who had a very strong accent and you can't understand a word they say. I ended up ordering DirecTV. Unfortunately 2 days later, I ended up canceling that order but it was not due to anything DirecTV Customer Service did. It was a personal issue. I will pursue DirecTV again in the future. Went to pay my DirecTV bill and little did I know that they have been charging me for something that I did not order. They had added a channel that I would never order and it was 39.99 monthly. I live on a limited income and why would I do that? They have been doing it for 6 months and it amounts to 190.00. I want to either be credited or I want my money back. This extra money would mean a lot for me. Thank you.

My husband was approached in Wal-Mart cornered and told that switching from AT&T U-Verse to DirecTV would save money while providing better service faster internet etc. After far too many phone calls from the sales guy (**) my husband caved and agreed to switch. Then he had to call Cox communications to set up an account for our internet. This was already strange to me. Then the installers came out after 5 pm on a Friday, did not provide the genie for the fifth television as ordered yet wrote down it was installed and that he collected cash money. We did not pay anyone.
I didn't like the service immediately. My mother in law did not like it either. It looks like half the screen is filled with ads for things you have to pay extra for. And I didn't like how the Playboy channel was right out front and center just begging to be ordered. Tacky tacky Directv. Unaware of (as NO ONE MENTIONED NOR IS IT WRITTEN ANYWHERE ON ANYTHING I HAD IN MY POSSESSION) the 24 hour cancellation policy I called to cancel on Tuesday afternoon. I was told I would be charged $480 in ETF's!!! I argued with CSR that robotically told me about their policy.... I was incredulous. Even Verizon gives you 14 days to change your mind.
I found contract law in California that states if you are approached in a door to door salesman or approached in a location that you frequent for necessity (Wal-mart) you have up to five business days to cancel. I quoted the law codes to the "special investigator" and gave him the whole rundown on everything that had happened and was told I would hear back from him soon. It's been over a month and nothing but bills for $478.00 in early termination fees have been sent to us. In short I do not recommend DIRECTV. They are pretty underhanded and seem to take a buyer beware approach to their retention services. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. EVER WONDER WHY THEY HAVE SUCH STEEP ETF FEES BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO BASICALLY EXTORT THEIR CUSTOMERS INTO USING THEM!

They were all so very helpful with our needs. Gave them a call a few days ago to ask a few questions about the packages. She was very patient with my crazy family and all our questions. They could answer all our questions plus more. The sales representative that came into install was very nice and worked the best he could in all this rain. Our appointment was scheduled between 12-4. He called me around 11:30 to let me know he could be a little early and had everything set up in just a few hours. We are very pleased with our service and will recommend to our friends and family.

Installation man was great. Order rep was great. Need to simplify your system to make it easy and quick to sign up and get service. Do not like the contract thing, though. I would love to see a system where you pay for only channels you want to get, and not packages. You are more costly than Comcast Cable and Dish Network. Great video picture but limited features. Comcast Cable has great features via their remote control.

I would like to see more options regarding program and selection of channels. Most cable/satellite co. don't really offer much and is the same across the board. If you had better selection channel options more customers will make the switch.

DirecTV and NCO Financial Systems have been harassing me for years. When I went to fill out an application for rental property we were approved, but two days after being approved by Ashford Realty Group, they said I had to pay off a collection agency (whom I did not owe) before we could have the town home. It pertained to DirecTV (whom I also do not owe). This should not have been even an option for me to pay when filling out an application for a home to rent. That is not what they look for on applications.
My wife, before I knew it, paid the $756.29. The only reason why Ashford Realty made me pay is because all houses out here have DirecTV in the 100 or so complexes. Now that the money was paid, DirecTV is sending me and harassing me for another $576.29, two months after collection agency got paid. 3 years ago, DirecTV had the nerve and audacity to go into my personal banking account and steal $754.59 out of my account without my consent or authorization.

From the initial phone call to place the order to the completion of installation my entire experience has been positive. With each encounter, the person I spoke to seemed customer service oriented. I appreciated that the technician showed me his ID as soon as I opened the door.

I've had DirecTV in the past in Virginia and the service was not good. You could never reach them. This experience was so different. Your advisers really cared. They took the time and were very polite, helpful and friendly. I would recommend them to anyone.

All your people were fantastic! My stress and concerns are all because my knowledge of computers and other techy issues are very lacking. I was required to do much computer setup accounts and email which is not very comfortable for me. Also I am told CenturyLink will mail me the equipment and I must set it up myself or pay a $60.00 fee for a technician to come and do it. Hopefully it will be as easy as they say. I will know in a few days. However, I feel with people such as myself you should get an initial technician visit just for first time set up as part of joining.

We had no line of view or contact with satellites unless put a pole in yard. We didn't want that. And so decided not to purchase right now. Everyone from first call to last call been very friendly and accommodating. Very good company. The service man let me see exactly what we were up against. Just a great experience.

I had to try DirecTV after months of waiting for my cable TV equipment to finally work. I ordered then cancelled the service from DirecTV after my current cable finally started working. The process was fast and easy and required very little effort - they make it risk free which is great! All in all it was a pain free experience to both order and cancel the service.

Tech that did the install knew what he was doing. He had total command of what to do and how to do it. The picture quality was just as he said it would be while he was deciding on where to place the antenna. The picture quality is better than Comcast cable.

I was calling to cancel my install for this Saturday, and the service Representative ** wanted to know why. I told him I changed my mind and was going with another company. I also mentioned that I had already told him that when he first asked how he could help me, but he must not of heard me. This set him off and he got a huge attitude, "oh no, I heard you the first time", he said. I asked, "then why are you asking me again? I just want to cancel and get this over with." His reply was, "wow". I asked him to drop the attitude which I didn't appreciate and please just cancel the order. He was so rude and said, "oh yeah, I'll be cancelling your order alright, don't you worry about it." I asked him why he was so angry, which he didn't respond to.
I told him that his behavior was so unpleasant that I will never even consider DirecTV in the future. He said, "Good. We don't need your business (no lie!!)." I asked him where he was working out of, who was his supervisor. He said he wasn't going to tell me then he hung up on me. WOW!! I look to see if I could cancel online since I certainly don't want to call back if this is the type of people they have working for them, but found out I can only cancel by calling. UGH!!!

Even though in the end, I could not get DIRECTV installed because the satellite signals were not accessible because of my location and a huge tree that contributed to the obstructed view, everyone that I dealt with throughout the process was great... professional, proficient, yet fun to interact with and very down to earth. I was a customer of DirecTV for approximately 2 years and had many issues with the satellite service. The Genie Boxes and remote controls did not operate correctly with many cases of the service freezing up and the remote controls operating the system very slowly if at all. I called many times and each time the same response was given, reboot the system. Which would work for only a few days or weeks and the same problems would return. Finally a second set of Genie Boxes were sent to me to solve the issues I was having. The second set worked fine for a few weeks and the same problems returned. Plus any storms that came over with thick cloud cover would also cause the service to go out.
Finally I decided to switch to another carrier and informed DirecTV that I was closing my account. When I contacted DirecTV and canceled my service they finally became interested in trying to fix my problems and wanted to give me new equipment which would have been the third set of Genies and send out a technician. I declined. They also said they would lower my monthly bill and add additional services. I question to DirecTV was "why didn't you offer these solutions to fix my problems before I cancelled." It was apparent they only became concerned about me as a customer after I cancelled not before. I would not recommend DirecTV to anyone. Plus they want to charge me for an early cancellation that is an insult given the service problems I encountered.

As I was "shopping" around for TV services, I did not feel obligated or "pushed" into using DirecTV. The customer service was awesome, I was asked what my needs or wants were and was given several options that would work for my budget and family. At the end of the phone call I wasn't asked "when can we come out and set your order up" as I was asked with the other companies, instead I was told I could set up an order id # and if I decided to go with DirecTV all I had to do was call back, give the id # and set up the installation without any commitments.
