    When discussing all the money I would save by switching to DirecTV... the sales rep used the special pricing x 24 to get a great number. When I got the confirmation email, I looked at the pricing and noticed that the pricing was for 12 months and it would increase $43 after 12 months... this is $500 over the number I was promised. After I called customer service to inquire... and was told yes it really would increase after 12 months, and there was nothing that could be done... that is just the way it is... I cancelled the order.

    I am so sick and tired of being charged extra on my DirecTV bill. They give you "deals" and if you don't call and cancel, you get extra charges. I've repeated this many times to many representatives. I DON'T WANT ANY EXTRA CHANNELS! Seriously, people STOP AUTO BILLING for things I don't want! Then I have to take the time to call and deal with it! Once I was charged for 6 months for the premium package that I didn't ask for, want or need.     Good luck with customer service! I've had many bad experiences but the last one was horrific! It's bad enough when you talk to one of the agents - they don't even have a pulse. But when you get an agent who doesn't care about their job or has no training then it's even worse! I called in to see if there were any discounts since my bill is now ridiculous and was promised many things by an agent in which I find out were not true. Apparently this person was trained and now taking calls and has the right to make changes to my account but none of the changes she said she could make were able to be done.

    After 4 phone calls and hours of my time, then a letter to the "president of the office" I get a call back and the agent tells me they will not honor what I was told even though it has been recorded. They didn't even listen to the recording and do not care that the customer has been lied too. Could go into so much more details but trying to keep it short! Basically you will only get the start up deals. After that, you will be held to paying a lot of money for your dish. And have fun dealing with customer service because they've been taught to read a screen and not how to deal with a person as a human being!!

    I dread signing up. The service is quick to disappear with a little rain. I'm dreading what'll happen when it snows & the tech they sent out to help move the dish to the front of my house so I could reach it in case branches or snow fell on it blatantly REFUSED to do it. I wasn't going to argue with him so I said "okay but I'm not happy". I miss my comcast which I'll be going back to. This is a case of getting what you pay for. Cheap is expensive in other ways.

    First experience with DIRECTV was their install tech not bothering to show up for the 12-4 window though I did get two text messages during the 12-4 time period telling me they had not forgotten our appointment. Finally received a call at 4:30 telling me they were not going to make it due to "sales operation" issues. Don't care! This is what you do for a living DIRECTV. You should be able to hit a four-hour window. The guy on the phone offered me another 4-hour window two days down the road. No thanks! I can get bad customer service from Comcast all day long. Don't need to switch to DIRECTV to get that. Thanks for wasting my day DIRECTV!

    I switched to DirecTV because of the advertisements they put in junk mail. They make it sound so inexpensive, but it was very expensive. I have only had it for nine months, and have called about the service going out whenever it rains and unexplained charges on my credit card. Customer Service has been unable to hear me on the phone and put me on hold for long periods of time. I very much regret switching from DISH Network and called DirecTV today to cancel my service. They told me they are charging me $200 to get rid of them and then they put me on hold. I had to hang up because I got another call, but I am determined to get rid of them so I will call again later to cancel.

    We signed up with this company in February of this year and were quoted a price of about half of what we have actually been billed for the past four months. I have had to continually call them again and again to try and get this mess straightened out so that we could begin paying what we were first quoted to begin with. Just yesterday, someone from their corporate office finally called me back at almost 9:00 at night only to tell me that the only discount I was going to get was one that was for new customers for $37 which was less than what I was told by several other representatives I would be getting.

    The corporate office employee who called told me they could do nothing about the four months that we had overpaid and refused to refund us except for giving us a one time $37 credit which still doesn't make up for the other 3 months. She gave us an extension of another 3 months at their "discounted" rate which again, doesn't compensate us for the money we have lost. I feel misled and lied to so that this company could gain my business. Keep in mind that this was their mistake from the start!! We did nothing wrong. No company should be allowed to lie to a customer, trap them into a contract where you are penalized if you try to get out of it for at least a year and basically force them to pay whatever they make them pay. This is wrong and something needs to be done to stop it.

    DirecTV will try anything to keep you from canceling even if it means hanging up on you repeatedly. Then when you finally get someone that won't hang up, they tell you you are in contract. Won't tell you for what or when it was done nor will they remove the early termination fee when they state they have no proof of a contract. Bad company. Go anywhere else for good TV at a better price.

    Opened my bill this morning to find that DirecTv had charged the Sunday Ticket on my acount ONE of SIX charges of $42. I don't watch Football and never have. DirecTV has shady business practices. They also have me on automatic payment so most people won't even notice this being charged on their accounts. This is highway robbery and DirecTV needs to be stopped from robbing people. Imagine the millions of people they rob every month with this shady business practice. $252 per customer, now multiply that by a few million unsuspecting customers. This money comes from hard working Americans to the pockets of shady executives at DirecTV.

    I moved to NC from Germany last year due to a family medical crisis. Since then, I acquired a job in KY. The temporary house I had did not allow satellite dishes. I called DIRECTV about it and they said I could put my account on hold until I find a more permanent place to live. After I moved to KY and less than 6 months here, DIRECTV sent an email wanting me to send the equipment back. I could only assume they changed their minds, but then they sent me a bill for $400 for services NOT RENDERED! I would have liked to of kept my DIRECTV, but I had to say in the choice.

    I am now looking for a home to buy now. I could theoretically get the DIRECTV back once I find one, but DIRECTV has already ruined my credit and now it doesn't look like I can. I'm still trying though. I will NEVER use them again and will NEVER recommend them to anyone. They are nothing more than GREEDY with POOR Customer Service! To ruin someone's credit AFTER you demand your equipment back when I was willing to work with you is pretty low.

    We have been faithful DirecTV Customers since 2007. We sold our home and moved into an apartment. I called to schedule a transfer appointment. I was given 7/4 8-11. We called on 7/4 at 11:00 when we did not get a call nor did a technician show up at our door. We made repeated calls to customer service (4) in which they repeatedly said someone would be at our apartment in several minutes. Needless to say, no called and no technician arrived to connect DirecTV. I called DirecTV 7/5, asked for a supervisor. Jerry ** said he could only give us an appointment for Wednesday 7/8 from 12-4.     I have noticed unauthorized charges that appear frequently on my DIRECTV bill. Since DIRECTV insists on direct billing and debiting your bank/credit card (otherwise, they put yet another extra charge on the bill), if I don't review my bill each month, there is generally something that sneaks in. When I call them, they are generally good at removing the charge, even retrospectively.

    When I moved, they added a $7.99 monthly charge for "protection plan" - I never explicitly authorized this, I did not request for this to be added and I was not informed about this being added. When I call tech support, they are generous and offer to add a few free channels for a couple of months. Provided I remember to call them back and have those removed, after the free trial, I have to pay for the channels. Fair enough - but when I call them to remove the free channels, they insist that I have to call back within a certain time period and after a certain date. Generally, this happens to be a working day and I am requested to call back during working hours, which is difficult for me with. So, the charges continue till I am able to call them back on a weekend and ask them to please consider my request to remove charges retrospectively.

    I had a great experience getting things set up. The only reason I did not rate a 5 was when they came out for the initial installation I was told the location for the dish would be alright. I need approval from our HOA so this was important. He was a really nice guy and really saved the day. He went above and beyond to rectify the situation. He really turned the whole experience around for me.     Every representative that I have spoken to have been very helpful and respectful. They were easy to talk to and actually made attempts to connect with me as a person and not just answer a phone and place an order and answer questions.
