    DirecTV is the most evil and conniving company out there. Thank god there are other cable providers that we are more than happy to switch to. We first signed up for directv in 2013. We were told since we were excellent customers and always paid our bill on time we were getting movie channels for 3 months free. My husband specifically asked the representative if we would have to call and cancel after those 3 months. He was told that it would cancel automatically. Well, 3 months later we get a bill for almost $200, and guess what we were charged for, the movie channels. We called to complain, and canceled out service that day, since my husband was deploying anyways.

    Fast forward a year or so later, we bought a home and decided to give DirecTV another shot since unfortunately, they were the only cable option to use so we can bundle with our internet provider. Wow have we made a huge mistake. For signing a new contract in September 2014 we received the NFL Sunday ticket free and of course the 3 months of movie channels. In October 2014 I spoke to a representative to make sure our movie channels would be canceled, given DirecTV's track record, and also told her we did not want to renew NFL Sunday ticket. She said she took it off auto-renew but advised for me to call again before September 2015 to confirm it was not going to renew. I called again in November about a different billing issue, but figured again, given your track record I should also double check that the NFL Sunday ticket was indeed taken off auto renew. I was assured that it was.

    This month, JULY I get an email to call before SEPTEMBER so we do not get billed for the Sunday ticket. Now, I open my bill today, JULY 26th 2015, and find that we've been charged $41.99 extra for the NFL sunday ticket which should have been cancelled regardless of me calling again before September which I haven't even had a chance to do yet, because it isn't even August! I'm so fed up with your crap! I wish we were never stupid enough to give directv a second chance! So now, you have lost us again because I WILL be canceling and we WON'T be making the mistake of using you again, and I will no longer recommend your services to anyone I know. In fact, I will go out of my way to inform everyone contemplating signing up for directv just how conniving you are.

    I specifically inquired about an internet/TV bundle. He assured me it was no problem. We set up the TV portion of the order then he acted surprised I would need to use AT&T for internet. He would not intervene but made me make a second call to contact AT&T, the same time assuring me there was some type of joint agreement with them. No AT&T service to this area! My request was for a wireless install. It require three visits before a proactive professional installer stepped up and made it right.

    Returned equipment after cancelling service (after being a long term customer) and they took $350.00 out of my bank account. Spoke with their representatives and they show in their records that they received our equipment on July 17, 2015 yet they charged me on July 24, 2015. They stole money out of my account after I spoke with them on the 15th of July to discuss why I received a letter showing they had not received my equipment and the representative stated they showed they received access cards but not equipment. I told him that access cards were in the equipment and he stated they were backlogged but I shouldn't worry once they got caught up it would reflect in my account that the equipment was returned yet we were still charged. I have been on the phone for over two hours today and yet still not resolution.

    I scheduled installation of DirecTV 2 weeks out. When the tech arrived, he had the incorrect system (wired rather than wireless) because they placed the order incorrectly. After 2 hours on the phone with customer service and speaking to a supervisor and the contracted installation supervisor, we agreed to have the tech back the next day to install the correct system. When he came back, he installed the dish and everything, but the order was never corrected to wireless. After 3 hours on tech and customer support, they had to reschedule again for the next day. I made 4 calls the following (third) day, and again, we spent over 2 hours being transferred back and forth again before they required an entire new account. At this point, we still do not have service and the poor technician cannot get a hold of anyone who can help him. This is unbelievable customer service and I would never recommend this service to anyone.

    Having to listen to music at work is great... until you are forced to listen to the horrible reggae station that directv has. There are a few songs on the station that could be classified as reggae, but a good majority of the songs sound like nails on a chalk board or a cat crying in pain!!!! Please stop the brutality of the songs on that station!!!

    I have had DIRECTV since 01/2015 and I have never been late with my payments. For some reason my payment for 06/2015 got reversed. When I called DIRECTV they told me it was my bank. When I spoke to my bank they told me that the information did not verify as in billing address. I then contacted DIRECTV and made a payment arrangement with them, I was to pay $50 on 07/24 and the remaining $80 by 08/10. On 07/24 I made a $99.35 payment before I went to work. DIRECTV then went on to debit a credit card that I had not used in some time. We had never spoken of them making an automatic withdrawal. If we had why would I pay $99.00 that morning? When I called they basically told me that I had given permission and there was nothing I could do.

    I used to think very highly of this company and I do not usually leave any type of reviews but they are nothing but crooks. Any way you slice it, when you go into a person's finances and withdraw money it is theft, period. I despise the company and everything it stands for. Buyer beware, their product is good, their practices are shady. My advice would be once you get them shut off the credit card you used and get another or you may become their next VICTIM!

    I have been trying to get basic pricing for the basic cable and internet service. Talk about getting the run around! First, I tried to get all the information online. The representative online told me I would have to order the TV service before he could help me get the internet service. This was a nuisance because I would like to have cable and internet together and would like to know how much it would cost me before I started the process. He told me I had to call in. So I did. I couldn't believe it. That experience was even WORSE. It was not a pleasant experience by any means. Again, I was getting the run around with pricing and didn't understand why it was so difficult to tell me the pricing before I was going to buy? The sales reps was unprofessional and didn't seem to want to listen to what I was saying. She simply kept asking to run my credit and got a tone with me when I was trying to explain my situation.

    I talked to Cox and they seemed to be very understanding and upfront about everything. Even got everything in writing for clarification. The rep there spent a little less than an hour explaining everything and making sure my needs were taken care of. This rep just seemed to want to get me off the phone! Because of this terrible experience - I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere.

    I had a DirecTV account and paid to move it to a new address. When I signed off that the Technician had completed the install, they started the clock on my contract again. So almost a year later they want to charge me for an early cancellation. I was told that any time there is a change in your account they start the clock again. This was not what I was told at the beginning. I was switched to DirecTV from AT&T Uverse when I moved because Uverse was not available where I moved. I was told I could complete my commitment to AT&T by going with DirecTV because they are partners. I was told that my commitment would only last the 6 months I had remaining on my AT&T account. A year and a half later I am told that's not true and the clock started again when I moved. DirecTV has told me different things at different times. I feel like I'm dealing with a sketchy used car salesman.

    I called DirecTV to cancel service after 9 years and paid every month on time and did not owe anything to them. I called on 5/5/15 to cancel service. They took information and told me it will be cancelled. Every day since then, and it is now 7/20, I have been called to pay bill, sent emails, and today was sent a notification it will turned over to a collection agency unless I mail them two months of charges totaling $ 128.00.     I opened an account with DirecTV on June 30, 2015. I was quoted a price of $45.99 for four rooms and a DVR, free installation and equipment. I paid $36.29 on that day to open the account. I explained to the man exactly what I wanted and went over everything with him. I told I wanted a paper bill and to not do automated payment. I told him I didn't want any surprises when my first bill comes because I live on disability and I have to count every penny. I was happy with the $45.99 and he set it up to be installed the next day. The Tech came the next day, July 1st, installed everything and I signed a few things that I understood to be for DirecTV saying that the Tech installed everything, he was on time, he explained how everything worked and confirmation that I was satisfied with everything. I signed an iPad, so I really didn't get to read exactly what I was signing. I just had to take the Tech's word for what I was I signing.

    The next week I get my first month's bill in but I didn't open it right away. Actually I got two envelopes from DirecTV and just thought one was a welcoming letter. The days following I was looking my checking account online and noticed a $60.99 charge on my account from DirecTV. I then went to the mail I received from them and opened both and it was two bills. One was for $45.99 and the other was for $60.99. The higher bill had added equipment to it but put "no charge" for it. So the amount I was quoted the day before suddenly went from up $15.00 and they took it out of my account without my permission. I called them to see what the extra charge was for and they said it was for the DVR monthly service, $10.00 and hooking me up to the internet, $5.00. Those two things were not told to me when I initially talked to the sales rep on June 30.

    This makes it hard on me. I live on disability. I do not have any other income other than disability. I am not married. I have a home that I make house payments on and all the normal bills everyone else has plus doctor bills, medications, insurances. I feel like I was taken advantage of by DirecTV when I signed those lines on the iPad and didn't have anything to read saying exactly what I was signing. Surprise! I am in a two-year contract now & I have to figure out what I can cut out of my budget to account for the extra $15. That may not sound like much to anyone else but it will buy medication, gas, food or personal products everyone else takes for granted. I hope no one else falls prey to this and oh BTW DirecTV just said "sorry for the confusion", but did nothing else.

The only issue was the final installation couldn't happen due to technical difficulties with the satellite. I believe they were down for the time being.     I would like a satisfactory response from your company. My father's home wiring and electronics were disconnected in a botched installation process by a DirecTV Representative that approached my father in a grocery store and we have not been able to get this repaired. We have also been told that it will cost $400 to get out of the contract. My father has stage IV cancer and I truly feel as though he was taken advantage of by your company. I will report DirecTV to the Better Business Bureau as well as post this message anywhere on social media and the internet I see fit until my family receives an adequate response and action taken to repair this matter.     I called for service. I gave credit card info. Installer came the next day installed which he removed the dish receiver to place theirs outside. I had service for 30 minute when it went down. After calling them I was told being my brother has an account that in collections and our address is almost the same mine. Ha! No lot number my brother's. Does they link our account and was holding me responsible for his? The only way I could get service was to supply them a copy of my light bill and my brother's. I informed Cory who is the manager of that department that the only way I could supply that was to commit a federal crime by stealing his light bill. He repeatedly said I need that light bill after 11 plus hours. I'm still without but Dish is reinstalling their satellite for a fee. Cory insured me no matter what he had final say and the answer would be the same that he had to have that bill.

    The lady that I spoke to told me the internet was unlimited. Then after she had me place my order she told me it wasn't unlimited and that I would never use all that I was getting so I shouldn't worry about it. Well I am worried. I have 7 people in my house and all of us have phones, tablets, and/or computers. We may very well go over. Then she rushed me through without explaining anything and told me it would be a self install just to get a router and modem before they come out on the 16th of July. When I called back and talked to someone else they straightened it out hopefully well concerning the self install junk. But as far as the internet I hope we don't go over. I just try to be honest and I expect the same in return. If she was so worried that I wouldn't go through with the order that she had to lie and rush me then she's under too much pressure from her boss.

    I have been with DirecTV for over 10 years and it does not pay to be a longtime customer! I stopped receiving reception on some channels and none of my HD channels were working for over 2 months. Numerous calls with DirecTV with them pushing a protection plan so I didn't have to be charged for a service call at every contact didn't solve the problem. When I stated I would leave, a repairman was sent out free of charge and my channels were working for 1 hour. He did say that my box might be the issue and be prepared to get a new one.

    Another call resulted in a new box being shipped overnight. It didn't arrive and I called again and was told it would get here in 4 more days! After having the Protection program shoved down my throat again, I quit! I will be more than happy to watch Netflix instead of arguing with this ridiculous company. I have had similar issues over the past 10+ years but I live in a remote area and had no other choice than DirecTV. I now have choices and will NEVER refer anyone to DirecTV!!!

    I was not informed that if the dish was not mounted on top of my residence there would be a $75.00 charge to mount it in my yard on a steel post. I did not want it on the top of my home. Me and the service technician worked it out and I was very satisfied with him and his work.
