I was originally signed up with Comcast, but in 1 month, never actually received service. Was referred to try DirecTV and glad I did! Best decision I made. Reps have been nothing but helpful and personality says a lot. Thank you!

I sat down to watch the SD Charger game on DirecTV, for which I have a contract stating that I get Local Channels. I am also charged a "Regional Sports Fee". I spoke with Customer Service regarding canceling my service as the only reason I have cable is to watch Local Sports and ESPN. I have 7 months left on my contract and when I requested that they waive the "Early Termination Fee" ($140), so that I can cancel service and go with a provider that can offer the Chargers, they refused. Instead they offered me a reduction of $20/month for the next 12 months. This does me no good because I am still paying $70/month for a cable TV package that does not meet my needs! DirecTV should have done the correct thing and waived the cancellation fee. They have lost a customer for life!!

Answered all my questions, give the price and spoke in English, walk me through the process, give me pricing for the first 12 months and pricing after that period, set up a installation date to work with my schedule. When placing the order my guy was very nice and walk me through the whole process. But never ask me if I was referred by anyone to get a discount. The second time, the woman was also very nice and answer my question plus went over the steps with me again.

So far, Directv has lived up to its reputation for good reliable customer service and I am very happy with the way I was treated by all personnel. Everyone at Directv was a true professional and clearly understood what I needed. Follow thru was timely and thorough. I would recommend Directv to anyone looking for a great TV company with great service.

My boyfriend and I decided to get Directv/CenturyLink in June of this year. What a mistake. Nothing but problems from the get go. (1)The rep said we'd be hooked up on a Sunday, no problem. There's a problem. When the tech no showed I called on Monday to find out what the deal was. The person said that the tech came out and no one was home. Lie. Found out they don't do service calls on Sundays. (2) The modem didn't arrive until a week later so no wifi to even have service. Called again. This time we were told it was sent out last week. Lie. Finally got the modem and a tech out here to hook up the TVs. Went over the contract. Great deal blahblahblah. Nice price, etc. Signal stronger than ever, storms don't affect it. Lies.
(3) We are now 2, yes, 2 months in and the bill has tripled! And the account number was changed by either CenturyLink or DirecTV. How and why, we don't know and neither do they. They're both blaming each other at this point and yet we're the ones stuck with a massive bill. We spent over 2.5 hours on the phone with these people, plus 1 magical disconnect from the service operator, with no satisfactory answers. The problem is not fixed by a long shot. But dude did offer us some extra deals. As if freakin' ever we'd continue this faux relationship with this company if we had a choice. Bad business practice.

DirecTV - Full Time RV'ing: Upon going full time RV'ing we discovered most RV parks provide cable. For those that do not, the "Over the Air" antenna typically provides something. The first time we reached a location (Knight's Key) in the Keys that had no cable and nothing came in on the antenna, we then looked at subscribing to DirecTV because our recently purchased 8 year old motor home had a Winegard satellite dish we had never yet used. In February 2015 I contacted Winegard and asked if our dish would work and they indicated it would. They then transferred us to sales who signed us up and initiated sending a receiver to our current location in the Keys. Upon receiving it, I installed and turned on the box which made the roof dish start searching for a satellite... however it never stopped searching... even after 30 minutes.
I then called Winegard and explained this issue. Upon citing the dish model they explained that with our receiver it would never stop on the satellite. They explained I would need to put the receiver in the mode showing the signal strength, watch the tv as the dish searched, and when the signal jumped up, hit the OFF button on the searching unit to stop it at that place. After about 4 attempts, I was actually able to perform this. Next issue: Many channels were being received but NOTHING for the major networks such as NBC, CBS and ABC... which are mostly what we wanted. The dozens of other channels are pretty much worthless junk. So made another call for support and after explaining the dish model and the receiver model, I was told I could never get the network channels because the dish was a single LNB and could not get multiple satellites reception which was required to get the network channels.
Having no other choice we occasionally watched the junk channels for two weeks while staying at Knight's Key in February... and that was the last we used it. Too hard to site in a satellite and it did not get network channels. And for the next several months we were paying $29 a month... for nothing. The alternative was to purchase and install the newer compatible Traveler's dish ($1500.00)... which we considered but eventually passed on because 99% of the time RV parks or "over the air antenna" do work. So now in August... I called to cancel the DirecTV and the lady wanted me to wait for yet another troubleshooting expert.
After 40 min I just said, "CANCEL THE SERVICE." I already know it will not work and I do not need to wait for my cell phone battery to die while she tries to catch up. Soooo... she informs me A) a return kit will be sent to me and I have 21 days to return the equipment and if not returned in time it could be a cost of up to $130. B) Cancelling the contract could cost me up to $300. Because we are full time RV'ers and use a mailing address out of Florida, the kit first goes there. I have then had it forwarded to our current location at a cost of about $30 to get it to me fast so I can attempt to get the equipment back to DirecTV within the 21 days. Nothing about this experience has worked well, and I will NEVER again get involved with ANY satellite company. What a lying, deceiving, costly mess.

I had your service a few years back - my apartment lease was up and they raised my rent so I decided to move. When I got my new apartment they told me I could not have a dish. I called you guys and was told they cannot do that. I cancelled my "contract" and they sent me a bill saying I had to pay out the contract - I told them "I can't get service here". I sent the equipment back and told them I am not paying. I have seen so many dishes going up in this complex - (plus I am sick of COX).
I called DIRECTV to have it installed, they told me I had an outstanding balance and I said "FINE I'll pay it" and I did. The service guy came Sunday the 8th and told me I don't have the right access to receive it and it can't be installed. That's what I told them 3/4 years ago... so now I paid $300 + dollars and can't get your service! I feel you owe me that money back, I was told that if they can't move the service to my new apartment - I won't have to pay cancellation fees.
I "still" want the service - like I said I am sick of COX CABLE. Is there any way you can help me get service. They say I can only install on my patio/back porch - it faces directly north. Can I put it on a pole on the west side of my apartment (I am on the corner) and get the service? Me think I should get a refund if you are able to install it - I am fine with the charges. Thanks.

I asked for HDTV receiver, I was being charged for this receiver. Seems the installer may have called in to Directv and activated and then stole it. We never received it. The installer said he left it with a note on the door. Well we have a gate and so he can't leave it at the door. Changes were made to our account with an "authorized user", we never authorized. No one with that name in my family, I asked them to listen to the recording. The good thing they placed a password on my account now. No one has offered a credit, we'll see. This is FRAUD!! This went on for over year and a half. We have been charged like this for over thousand dollars plus my time for calling, I make quite a bit. If it is DIRECTV and do this to millions it would make them MAJOR CROOKS. Making money off the backs of people that they count on are busy raising a family working and unable to check their bills. SHAME!

I was a customer of DIRECTV because my sister spoke highly of them. I was in a contract the first year although during that year the price was never the same and when I called to pay my bill I was talked down to and told several times that they (DIRECTV) could use my "card on file" and were hateful. I was out of the contract for over a year or more when we had to move to our cabin while work was done on a house we were going to flip and move I called and was told by a young and very rude girl that 'I would pay one way or another', she would use the cards I had on file. I asked for a supervisor and explained I would NEVER agree to a year contract again. I talked to a very helpful supervisor and she said the first girl was unprofessional and had no right to say that.
Fast forward, service was disconnected as I asked and then they never picked up any of the boxes or remotes either time I moved. That would save money right there!!! Two weeks later, I go on my bank website and the company pulled $260.00 out of my account and when I called to discuss this issue all 4 people were rude and clueless. I asked where they sent all these bills or the letter stating they were raiding my banking account and they said "Well ma'am, not to the mailing address, but the address where the cabin is." I said I cannot get mail out there and that I can't even receive mail out there.
They did not care and will not resolve the problem. I had no problem paying the final bill but I never received one due to everything being sent to the wrong address. I would never allow anyone to access my bank account and I am astonished that they decided I was signed up for a year contract. No proof at all. I am fighting it and want DIRECTV to get all the equipment they toss away with every customer. I do not know where half of the employees come from, but they have no training.
I expect the stolen money back in my account and IF they think I owe them for a year contract then send me to a collection agency. I should sue for the trouble their poor judgment cost me. I was told by one guy that if I would just sign back up they would drop the year contract fee??? I don't have any cable and will not be getting any. Be cautious, they say that the year contract was signed when they came out and installed it. I wasn't home and a 19 year old would not sign something that serious. She signed that the work was completed although the technician drilled through our very old tile and left it everywhere after instructed not to go near the tile wall.

As I have already said, AT&T was not forthcoming about the external installation required. When I let DirecTV know that was the case and that I could not proceed because of the external equipment requirement, DirecTV was instantly responsive. I have no complaints about DirecTV.

Been told from a Directv supervisor at the Costco location in Norwalk CT few months ago, that I can order more receivers for my house when needed at no cost, but that I had to pay the monthly service. After spending like 1 1/2 hours with the person, the time comes to order the others receivers and I have had the worst time trying to get the receivers. They claim that there's no way that they offer this and since then I left several times my phone waiting for someone to return my call and take care this issue. They want me to pay for equipment that I don't need to buy since I'm paying for their service.
I'm willing to pay for the rental of the equipment but just the false promise to get you into something to sale their product and make a very unhappy customer. I'm trying to solve this since the 3rd week of Feb 2015. And we just going or circles. No one take responsibility for what they offer. Don't sign with Directv at Costco - they are just a big mess. Save yourself a big headache.

I've had DirecTV for over 3 years and though I like the set up, I lose the signal when it rains, and in Fla in the summer it rains nearly every day. In the past they would give me 5$ discount here and there to compensate but now that my contract is up nothing is offered for compensation. At one time they also added an expensive sports pkg to my programming that I never authorized and didn't want. Because it charges to my credit card I didn't notice the fairly large price increase at first. When I noticed and called them I could only get a credit of one month and they had charged me 6 months worth. The monthly cost keeps going up and all they say is "Brighthouse costs just as much." When I went with DirecTV three years ago the price was reasonable and they seemed to care. Very disappointed in their lack of customer loyalty and history of padding of services.

The only issue I have is with accurate information on when my installation was to be done. The salesman I spoke with told me my time was between 8 and 12. Well, then I called in after 12 to see where my tech was, and the automated system told me that my installation was from 12 to 4. I have emails and text messages from two and three days before reminding me of the appointment stating that my time was between 8 and 12. The tech shows up at 1:30 which is fine but I could have put in at least a half a day's work.

I have been a loyal customer of DIRECTV since July 5, 2012. The service was fine for the first 3 years and I have been setup with auto pay from my credit card. I have been without TV service for over 5 days now. The technician came out and said that he fixed the problem. I was not home at that time. The problem is no signal from the box to the dish. He had to come out again on the same day to fix another problem due to no signal - just cable wiring. I had to wait 5 days for this crap. I missed all of my shows and I am Irate at this moment. Then the technician said that he was or could charge me $16.00 dollars for a flat cable that comes through the window. Why am I paying for service? I am on a service agreement that I pay extra that covers the dish, boxes on two TVs and also any cable connections and Coax.
I am not happy with the treatment I am getting with DIRECTV and I am at the rate of going with another carrier that will treat me better than I am getting with DIRECTV. DIRECTV is going to lose my business of being loyal for 3 years now. Then the technician starts to get into my face and start a fight with me. I asked him to leave my apartment. Not too HAPPY AT ALL.

When we moved our line of sight was only at 88% and it's supposed to be at 95%. When I was told this by the technician, he said our picture would only get fuzzy if it was storming really bad. The very next day it was barely sprinkling and our picture was going out. To make a long story short, I called to talk to a supervisor and never got a callback. After I called DirecTv back about 5 times I finally got my contract cancelled, but still never talked to a supervisor. We were supposed to be credited $96 dollars, and after never receiving the check, I called and was told they denied our refund. I let that go. THEN we got a bill for $3! Not that $3 is a lot of money but after all my frustration I didn't think I should be billed for any "new charges". I have never had this bad of an experience with a cable company and I will highly recommend to pick a different company if you're thinking of getting DirecTv.

I received a flyer in the mail offering TV and internet at a very reasonable price. In April I placed my order and was surprised to learn the internet would be furnished by Verizon with a separate billing. Both were installed without issue. However, every time it rains, I lose satellite service. I called today to cancel service and was advised I would owe DirecTV $380 as I had a 2-year contract. I was not advised I had this contract and was told I could cancel at anytime. I still have the original offer flyer and could not find where a contract was ever mentioned. My husband could not locate such a reference and finally found the reference, utilizing a magnifying glass! I feel the flyer was deceptive advertising. I looked at the online flyer and easily found the reference to a 2 year contract. Why would the contract reference be so small it can't be read with the naked eye if not to deceive?
There was no offer of resolution. I asked to discuss the issue with someone higher up and was told there was not another number to call other than the one I dialed. The young lady told me to go to their website and send an email. All I want is to cancel the service I am not receiving. I was offered a technician and being infuriated I declined. Future customers should be aware that you cannot cancel service without penalty, despite what they are told when ordering. DirecTV has no intention of resolving complaints of this nature.

I was told when I signed up by their rep that I would pay 75 dollars/month and receive the NFL package free for 2 years. It has been one year and my bill has doubled and they are trying to charge me for the package. After calling their customer service number I was told it doesn't matter what their rep said and that they don't offer that promotion. When I told them I would like to cancel my service they said that would cost 300 dollars. This is not acceptable and not something I would expect from a company this size and well known. My advice: Watch out bill closely. They can and will raise it as time goes by and not let you cancel without paying a lot of money.

The installer was very good. He was the 2nd person to come to the house. The first installer left without contacting us even though we left a note on the door instructing him to come to the side door. He did not want to do the job.

Install was completed on Thursday 8/6/2015. Installer left at around 3:00pm. Did not test on demand services. 1 hour after he left I got an error message on screen and no picture at all on any channel. Online chat requested self-diagnostic. Was told it was a dish alignment error and a tech would call within an hour. 2 and a half hours later with no callback I called customer service and was told by the rep a ticket was submitted and they would get around to it. Chatted again later in the evening and was told she would resubmit the request along with a complaint of no callback or service. Friday 8/7/2015 I received no callback and still no service. I attempted to use On Demand, service error and fail. Saturday no call and still no service.
Called Sunday to cancel and was told there would be a charge cause I didn't give them a chance to fix the problem. Requested Supervisor and spoke with Ashley. Was told they would not charge to disconnect but they had setup an appointment for Monday 8/10/2015 between 12:00pm and 4:00pm and they called to confirm. I received no such call. Told Ashley if they call first thing in the morning to confirm Monday's appointment I would put off a 3 day trip to Wilmington to be here. Here said they would definitely call to confirm between 8:00am - 9:00am. As of the time of this complaint, 10:00am Monday 8/10/2015 I have not heard from anyone. A warning to anyone thinking of switching to DIRECTV.

This is my second time as a DIRECTV customer and I am very disappointed/angry. I was a previous customer several years ago and decided I would try them out again because I was out of contract with my current cable provider. Previously, as a DIRECTV customer I automatically received a reward card from them as a sign up bonus and did not have to do anything to receive it (it simply came in the mail as it should). This year in April, when I signed up I was told it should arrive in about 90 days and I waited. It's been 5 months so decided to call today to inquire where it is. The customer service rep informed me that I was definitely due and should have received it by now. So he politely explained that he would need to speak with his supervisor.
When he came back on the line he mentioned that he was instructed to credit my account for the $200.00. I explained, that it was not I wanted, nor what I agreed to. It is supposed to be a $200 Visa reward card, not a credit to my account. I needed the visa card to pay for other expense now rather than crediting my account over the next several months. Nonetheless, it doesn’t matter why I need it. It’s what was agreed to by both parties for signing their contract for service. I made it very clear I did not want a credit to my account. I requested to speak with a supervisor and he stated that I should have filled out some online form to activate the mailing of the reward card. I explained to him that this was very unacceptable and I was very unhappy because that was not part of my discussion with anyone when I signed up.
I never received any email from DIRECTV to notify me that I needed to activate my reward card and never had to in the past. I have held up to my end of the bargain with automatic bill pay and they have not held up to theirs! If they are going to credit your account rather than send you the reward card then the customer should be notified by mail and email to be sure they are informed. I received neither, and told Max that is false advertisement and bad business!! In the meantime, they have gotten my money on time with auto bill pay. In addition, we have had problems with the satellite dish malfunctioning within the first several months of service. Did they accommodate us for being without service for several days? Don't think so.
If they do not make this right then I will never recommend them, nor do business with them again. I told the supervisor Max badge# **, "It's not that difficult. Just send me the reward card like they/we agreed to, make a minor exception to the rule to accommodate the customer to make things right." I'm sure they are perfectly capable of correcting their errors and follow through with their advertisement. Very dissatisfied customer.

I signed up for DirecTV about three weeks ago, with the main reason being the 72-hour rewind that I had gotten an advertisement for. After the installation, technician said wait two or three days for the programming guide to build. I waited until the next weekend and try to use the 72-hour rewind, and nothing. So I called Customer Service and they were great. I was on the phone for couple of hours, trying to resolve the problem of the 72-hour rewind not working. Finally ended up resetting the DVR. They told me to wait another 2 to 3 days until programming guide built.
I called back the following weekend and spent another couple of hours trying to resolve the issues with the 72-hour rewind. Again, customer service was great. They pulled that advertisement on DirecTV webpage but can never figure out how it worked. I was then transferred to another department and was told the 72-hour rewind is only for certain stations. I knew that and knew how to check them. I was then told that only shows that they have permission from the networks can be on the 72-hour rewind. This excludes anything other than chosen prime time. It turns out 72-hour rewind is nothing but on-demand. I had this confirmed by two technicians.
I then told the technicians I was very unsatisfied that the 72-hour rewind is not available and told them I would like to discontinue my service. They said it should be a problem because everything was documented on my account 'trying to resolve this issue'. They gave me a number to call 800-824-9081. When calling this service, I was told I could not cancel my service without paying a 480 dollar early termination fee. I explained the situation. He then went to the DirecTV website and saw exactly what I was saying. But he said he has no control over what marketing and advertising does. I then offered a settlement of paying 200 dollars to discontinue my service even though it's only been three weeks. He agreed the statements in the advertisement are not available on DirecTV at this time. But said if the service is working, I would have to pay 480 dollars to terminate the service.
I may be wrong, but it seems to me that any company that you have to sign a two-year agreement with should provide the services you agree to. In this case, you have to sign the agreement to get the service installed. So all you can do is trust what you're being told correctly when you sign up. I think they were 100 percent honest in telling me how the 72-hour rewind worked when I signed up because they were reading the same instructions on the DirecTV website.
I'll attach the instructions but this is their claim. "Forget set your DVR to record a show? 72-hour rewind is the new HD DVR feature that allows you immediately watch shows that aired in the past 72 hours. Now you'll never have to worry about missing the show again. All you need is an Internet connected receiver. Networks with the 72-hour rewind functionality on March with a plus sign in the on-screen guide."

I never thought that I would have to contact Consumer Affairs, however, the service I received today has been appalling. I am unsure if you can fix this situation, however, it is worth a try! I am at the point of canceling my service because of the service I received from DirecTV. Tuesday of this week (August 4, 2015), I called in wanting to move my service. I will be honest, I didn't want to pay the $200 to move my service. I moved because of my job and had already spent a lot of money with this move. After speaking with a manager and agreeing to pay the $200 to move my service, she assured me that my service would be set up on Saturday, August 8, 2015 between the hours of 12-4 pm. It never happened.
I was home during those hours and no one never showed up. I received several emails and I can forward them to you reminding me of my appointment and what I needed to have when the technician arrived. I also received several calls as well reminding me that he hadn't forgotten about me. Around 3:45 pm I received an email that the technician was running behind and he should be to my home between the hours of 4:15 - 4:40 pm. Well, he never showed up. I called customer care at 4:45 pm. I was told that my order was escalated and that a technician would be to my home by 6 pm. Well, he never showed up. I waited until 6:20 pm to call back and was then told that the dispatching office was closed, and they closed at 5 pm. My question... if the office closed at 5 pm, why was I told a technician would be sent to my home by 6pm?
It is tough having to move an entire family to a new area and to anticipate having access to television services today and not receive it was just awful. The level of customer service I received was just awful. I have many years of customer service experience under my belt and not once, did anyone verify my information to ensure it was correct (address and phone numbers) until I asked them what they had in their system.
I was lied to during this entire process; the time the technician was suppose to arrive to the technician saying he called. I was told he called and couldn't leave a message to he called and left a message advising me that he was at my home, and no one was there and that he could come first thing in the morning. So, I am confused??? Was he able to contact me or was he not? I was given a lot of misinformation. I am over DirecTV and have canceled my service. Was told I would have to pay to cancel my service. Just awful. I don't recommend that anyone use their service!

DirecTV gave me a quote of 58.95 in August 2013. The DIRECTV contract was never honored and the charges were over 100.00 dollars a month. Repeated thrice to resolve the issue - only ended in 30 to 45 minute waits listening to music and a representative that never cared.

DIRECTV provide us a good tv service since 2014. I have to say that I like their service better than DISH Network. Maybe because you can record your favorite tv shows etc.. Their internet service is horrible. We have so many problems and we even have to buy routers in order to make the thing work, but because it's another company DIRECTV is "not liable for what the other company does" it's very complicated. We had the same bill for both services. Only they know what is going on but they just blame each other when you call to complain. We decided to let them turn off the tv because the bill was not clear and they charged a lot of money the first month and the second and so on. When you call they say it's AT&T and if you call AT&T they say it's DIRECTV.
Since we never understood all the charges we let them turn off the tv service. They sent a box for the equipment but because we pay the little tv boxes we didn't know what to send them back and if they will give us the money back for the boxes. Well today 8/8/15 we check our bank account and we have 0 balance because a "collection agency" took all the money. We call the bank we thought was a fraudulent transaction since that collection agency is not authorize to take money out of our account. The bank is conducting an investigation about it because DIRECTV game them our bank info. When I call DIRECTV the representative told that is a collection agency who took the money, I told him "We don't have money to feed our kids or to pay the electric bill or to pay the house" - he didn't care. How sad!!!
We sent the boxes even when he couldn't specify which ones we pay for. Seems like they don't have the right information update because he couldn't even tell how much the equipment will be or how much money they will give us back. I am not mad - they are just trying to get their money one way or another but I like my bill clear and very well explained and they never couldn't done that. I hope this review help people to read very well contract and don't let them rush you because they only want your money - that's it.

They took money out of my bank account from the use of my debit card with me authorizing it and took my bank account down to zero which made my bank cancel the debit card cause I didn't authorize this payment I cancelled services back in June but got disconnected back in May. Why are they taking money now and not two months ago. Yes I know I had a past due amount but really did they have to take the money now. I have told everyone that I know that this is going to happen and to cancel their service. This is retarded and they would not give me my money back. The customer is always right. Right? That's how I was taught. Not to argue with the customer and do what they're asking.

I have had nothing but trouble with DirecTV since I got them. Some issues have been able to be fixed. Others are like pulling teeth. The most recent one was apparently when you sign up you are giving them access to your bank account. They withdrew $600 from my bank account at the first of the month. I'm not disputing. I owed them a bill but definitely not that much. Then when I contacted them the first time I was told I could get back $320. I wasn't very happy about that was glad to get back some of it. I was told that it usually takes 24 hours but could take up to 2 days.
2 days later no money has been put back into my bank but the day I spoke to the first lady they had credited $1 to my bank account and then rescinded it. I waited 2 days it had still not been deposited into my bank account. I called again and I was told it was credited to my DirecTV account. I said it wasn't suppose to be. It was suppose to go back to my bank. Then I was told it would take 5-10 days. I am VERY UPSET because they are messing with my rent money. I had no idea they had even took the money out in the first place until my card was declined. They automatically took the money out but now it's going to take almost 2 weeks to put it back.
The second lady I talked to also told me that there were no notes from the last lady I talked to. Every time I talk to someone there it seems more months get added to my contract even when I ask them and they say they won't be but once again no notes seem to ever be there when I speak to the next person. Maybe the price of my bill wouldn't be so bad if they could also bundle phone and internet but they can't where I live. Also the smallest package with the receiver fees is like $50 and then taxes on top of it but the only channels I get that aren't shopping or infommercials I got when I wasn't paying anything with just an antenna. RIP OFF.

I ordered DirecTV over the phone. Sales representative mentioned, that order includes $200.00 visa card. Only monthly fees on 1 Genie and no monthly fees on wireless Genie. Sales representative confirmed it is ok to have receiver activated at the later date. The above terms and conditions were re-confirmed with secondary customer service representative before the order was placed.
The installation day comes. The technician came to the house, completely denied he can leave the receivers if the TV is not on premise. Called customer service to learn that I will be charged for all the 4 genie. And later learned that $200 promotion was also not applied to the order. What a mess. I have no idea how do these guys operate - with 3 different persons confirming to the items on the order and all of them lying about it. I am totally frustrated with the lies. I spoke with the supervisor's (TJ) manager. She was totally sick.

I set up new service with DirecTV. I wanted to bundle internet with it. I went through the process of bundling internet through Exede. I wasn't sure about that company, and I looked online at the service I had signed up for. My wife works from home, so the limited data plan on internet was not going to be sufficient. I called DirecTV back to cancel the internet portion of the order, and they forwarded me to the appropriate person. I was able to cancel that portion of my order, since it wouldn't fit my needs. Everyone was helpful and the process was fairly painless.

After clearly disclosing to a representative in Jan that I would be moving twice in one year, she never told me the first move would be free but the second move would cost me upwards of $200. After calling and telling customer service that the undisclosed charges was false advertising and deceitful the new representative laughed at me and said he would lower it to $105. I'm not paying $105 when I clearly stated my situation to you months ago and you said nothing about a charge for my second move. He then told me he recommended I cancel my account and that he would transfer me to the Moving department to dispute the $105 charge that I never authorized! Something about this is illegal, but it is certainly deceitful.

Never could get service working correctly. We had service out 20 or more times and they replaced everything and I had to take off work each time to be here. And now the last two times they charged us 50 dollars + tax as a service call and for the first several they waived the service fee. But now that they merged with AT&T its pay the fee no discounts even if the service is not working correctly. We have had their top of the line techs 3 out so often that they said we could get out of our contract if we want but you must pay the 50 dollars or else. They want us to pay for the service contract so we are not charged the service fee but it is their equipment and we are leasing it so why would we pay a service fee each month when we already pay $120 a month and it pixelates and locks up each day.
I just have to say something as a business owner this is unacceptable and if we had a better service I would sign up today. But Dish is no better and Warner seems the same too. Its' just TV and now that DirecTV has merged with AT&T this is just what I expected. AT&T was always known for getting you to sign a contract and then they will sue you rather than provide the correct service they promised they never come true. And if you don't pay them they hire lawyers to sue you. I think DirecTV is on the way down now.

DirecTV is about the worst satellite TV service for several reasons. I called DirecTV and asked if they would provide a French-language channel. They lied to me, saying yes, they would supply a French-language channel to my future DirecTV service. They, then, provided me TV service, but without the French-language channel. I called every 2-3 months to find out when I was to receive it; they promised that it was coming to my area. Then, by the 19th month, after paying my monthly bill, I decided to terminate service in favor of another company that could provide the French-language channel.
The customer service agent said that I would be fined over $400.00 for breaking the 24-month contract. I NEVER SIGNED any 24-month contract with them and they never delivered my French-language channel. I did not pay the unethical penalty that they tried to impose upon me and, of course, DTV sent the penalty request to a collection agency. I refused to pay the outrageous, unethical penalty. Now, I believe it is reported to the credit bureau. I should sue DirecTV in my home state courts but I am now moving out of state. They would easily lose as DirecTV has no contract with me. Remember your rights as a citizen of the U.S. If any company tries to impose a penalty without a contract, SUE them in your state courts!

I moved and was not able to continue service due to the fact that my landlord would not allow a dish to be mounted to the house. There was no way to have service, according to the company, due to the trees on the lot and being in a country setting. I had to pay a $200 fee for cancelling service and I asked to pay the fee in installments since this was not in my limited budget and was told it's not possible. You either have to find a way to pay the full fee at once or get a collection on your credit. This is not good customer service and not fair at all since I wanted to keep the service and was unable to because of where I live. All I asked for was 2 months to pay the bill off and was refused. The only face to face contact with DIRECTV was with the installer. He is truly an asset to your company. My home was a bit of a scramble of wires prior to the installation. He managed to figure out and do the install. A good guy.

Over a year ago in March I finally gave up with AT&T slash DIRECTV / whole home service. I paid for the bill which included that whole home, but never got the service. Over a dozen technicians could not figure it out either. After 6 months or so I complained about my bill and not wanting to pay for services never rendered. After incredible aggravation from customer service, I was transferred to the head of the department and was told it was all to be credited. I mailed all my equipment back. And closed my account and went to Time Warner Cable.
To this day I am still being harassed to pay 746 plus or minus dollars, which I thought was resolved. In addition to the horrible service and they're not honoring what they said they were going to do, they have reported me to a third party collection agency and are now trying to smudge my credit report and FICO score. I've never dealt with such incompetency in my life. Not one service person has ever tried to understand my dilemma and complained. I'm exasperated and do not know what else to do.

I discovered that DirecTV had started charging me for an add-on premium package I never ordered and I called to ask them to take off the charge for $42.99. They apologized but said they couldn't do anything about the current charge because it was bundled with AT&T but assured me I would be credited the next month. I got the bill the next month and the credit was not there and they had charged me AGAIN! I spent over an hour on the phone and was basically told they could do nothing about it but send the credit again. So I have to pay for TWO months ($86) that I never authorized and they did not seem at all apologetic for these charges or the time I had to spend on the telephone to deal with the issue. They claim it will be credited next month but this is HORRIBLE customer service so I will be going elsewhere when my contract expires later this fall.

I'm glad I was informed about the wireless system. I did not have to put any holes in my house and I can watch tv in any room or even in the balcony or patio if I want. This year's football season is going to be a lot of fun! Thanks to my installer for doing such a great job! After years of using DIRECTV I cancelled the service as I moved to a condo that didn't allow sats to be installed. We had a dispute over $21.99 in billing due to them billing the wrong amount. I wrote them a formal letter and responded to their calls refusing payment. When they found that they didn't have a credit card number of mine to apply the charge they looked up old records and found a checking account number of my ex wife. They went ahead and debited her account.

I was approached by a Directv sales rep inside walmart who offered me a low monthly rate. I refused to give my personal information because I did not want them to run my credit and bring my score down. He promised it was not a hard inquiry that it would not show on my credit. I reluctantly gave him my info. He comes back asking me for a 450$ deposit, which if broken down over the 12 month contract and added with regular monthly fees, there is no savings. I checked my credit 2 days later and of course there it was DIRECTV on my credit. I'm really mad that they lied to me about it not showing on my credit and that they tried to scam me for a 450$ deposit even though my credit is decent. Today at 9:55 am, I called the customer service to ask why I am be charge for an NFL packet without notification, you will be billed for everything that the "1st year offer" give you also your monthly payment will be increase after the 1st year. When we subscribe to the service never was explain it. Now I have to reduce my packet if I do not want to pay the increase or pay $300 per early termination fee. Look, when it comes to product DirecTV delivers, I actually like the service. BUT, they are more spendy than others for sure and will continuously try to jack your prices to WAAAY above what you started. Here is my experience, so be ready for this. The first time I had DirecTV, they as friendly as heck as long as you keep paying your bill. I had to move to a location where I could not get it installed and now you are connected to a different beast. Be ready. LOOONG hold times, they will transfer you from person to person until they beat you into submission. Once you finally get a person, they will verbally connive you to stay on, but once they know for sure you are done, they turn REAL nasty. They are rude and short, will hang up and make you start from scratch (an hour on hold, at least).
Just recently, I forgot how bad this was and ordered DirecTV to the new location to where we are moving. The owners did not allow the installation and I called to have the installation cancelled. SAME EXPERIENCE. Hours on hold, transfer after transfer, dropped calls, and finally I gave up and just turned the guy away when he showed up at my doorstep. Never, NEVER, again will I give this company my money. No service is worth this kind of experience.

At Costco the rep sucked! I asked twice if the advanced dvr was free like it said on the internet. He DID not answer the question. Instead he showed me what it would look like giving me the impression it would be. I canceled the order.

The experience from start to finish was very pleasant. Everything work well from sale, customer service and service. The service technician was on time and very helpful. After the technician left my home I had a problem and question and he return to resolve my problem. Everyone was knowledgeable and professional. I was very satisfied. There was a great deal of background noise in the sales department, hard to hear at times.

Salesperson sold me 6 and priced me for 6 and I requested 8. So the price was off. She said she sold me 1 genie and 7 minis, but order showed 1 genie and 5 minis and never said only 4 work at a time. Then I called cust svc and that person made everything right and saved my business cause I was going to cancel.

I continue to receive mail from this company which I want stopped! I cannot seem to find out how! What do I need to do to get them to take my name off their mailing list? Is there no end to companies continuing to use my address over and over? Please get them to cooperate! I do not want DirecTV from this company or any other!

Everyone at DIRECTV has been very good at their job and most helpful to this customer. I am only sorry that the DIRECTV dish could not be placed for me. James (technician) was very helpful, but it just could not be worked out. TREES, TREES, LEAVES, LEAVES!!! This has nothing to do with anyone at your organization. I was very impressed with all of you!

I have been living way out in the country for almost 3 years now, and was only using a digital converter box and antennae until a few months ago when I decided to get internet with CenturyLink. I was then using Netflix and Hulu plus for streaming everything I wanted to watch. All in all, it's just not comparable to actual cable TV service (or in this case, satellite TV service).
About a week ago now, I finally decided to bundle my internet with DirecTV. I've been really skiddish about having a satellite dish, I've heard a lot of good and a lot of bad, especially living as far out as I do. The DirecTV installer arrived right on time, and even called to let me know he was on his way. He was very professional and polite, and did a very thorough job. He explained to both my husband and I how to use all of our new functions and services. He had been working there for a long time and I felt very content knowing that he knew what he was doing. I've had service for a few days now and I've had ZERO problems with anything. The quality is excellent and there is even a great selection of free on demand movies and TV shows to choose from since I also have Internet. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the picture and the genie with DVR service.
My husband was the biggest skeptic and even he is thrilled with the service, I can tell. I have up to 1,000 hrs in recording time, and I can even set my DVR from my phone and take it with me to watch anywhere! I highly recommend DirecTV to anyone who is skeptical about satellite TV. As long as you get a good guy to install your service, you will have an excellent experience as I did. The only thing I didn't like was because of my credit I had to pay a $300 deposit up front, but I get back $20 bill credit every month I make a payment which lowers my bill. So overall, I am a very happy customer! I am excited to turn on my TV in the morning now! There are so many channels I couldn't possibly be bored anymore. Thank you DirecTV for making my life as a stay at home mom the best that it can be!

My husband lost his job and we had to move for his new job. Currently where we are living (temporarily) you are not allowed to have a dish. The only place to put it is a common walkway for anyone to use so we are out of luck. I have had DirecTV for many years and we previously had to suspend service. We were almost up to our six months so we had to send the equipment back or get charged. Fast forward, we moved and wanted to have them again. So we called and they came out to install service at our new address. They sent the welcome letter to an email address we had not had in over a year which stated about the new 24 month contract so we never received it. So as you can guess, they now want close to $300.00 dollars. Spoke to Heather and she basically said too bad, so sad. Don't get me wrong, she was nice on the phone but stated that is the way it is.

I have been a loyal customer of DIRECTV for many years. My home account is under my name. My husband unbeknownst to me, made changes, which I did not authorize, that placed the account under contract. We are undergoing a divorce and he wants the cable service, since he is remaining in the house. I cannot afford cable and want to change the account to his name. This cannot be done without closing the account and opening a new account. However, I found if I close the account, I would incur a $300 penalty for the contract services I did not authorize.
$300 is very little to DIRECTV, but a lot of money to a single mother who teaches. I spoke to 5 different people and each one said the same thing, I owe the contract fee. They could not lessen the fee nor transfer it to my soon to be ex-husband's account. They have proof he is the one who made the changes, and that I never authorized the changes. I had one representative accuse me of lying. I was in tears for most of the phone calls. I let them know I cannot afford the $300, however, it is a policy of DIRECTV that no one would/could waive the contract fee.
Please be aware of this policy... someone can become an authorized user of your account, without your knowledge, but not be held liable for services they ask to be included on the account. I have perfect credit and it is my social security and credit which is held liable because I opened the account. It is very disappointing to me that there is no way to change the account to the other "authorized" person's name. However, DIRECTV can authorize a person onto my account without my knowledge, because he is my husband, and he can continue to add services, but I am held financially liable. DIRECTV has lost a loyal customer.

I'm disappointed to not be able to receive the services because AT&T U-verse is not available in my area but in the future I am so looking forward to being able to receive your services because my husband really wants that NFL Sunday ticket and my current provider doesn't offer that. The representative on the phone was the best and she exemplifies what customer service is all about.

DirecTV is the worst ever. They keep you on hold for hours, transfer you one person to another. They tell you that when you join it a soft credit hit. "NOT!" If you cancel for any reason even if they can't install the dish and you put a deposit of $300 it take 14 days to get it back. You have been warned. Good luck!

When I initially called Directv I did not have the advertisement with a cvs gift card promo as I misplaced it. But after I called I found the ad so I telephoned the support number and the representative, George, resolved the issue quickly by suggesting a credit to my account. I am happy with the service I received.

Sales, tech support and installers from both DirecTV and AT&T need to be given (and learn) the same information about services, pricing, etc. Everyone had a different story. Everyone was nice and tried to be helpful, but if I had documented every conversation and showed you probably you would be surprised. One call with AT&T about the bundle was actually over 4 hours long.
