    Installers did not show twice and did not call their supervisor as promised to resolve the problem. It took my call and many, many transfers from department to department, a hang up and recall to finally get the install scheduled properly. The third installer showed up and was good but did not have the correct wireless equipment when it was determined our current wiring was too old (not his fault). Rescheduled install for 9/28/2015. Had I not really wanted DIRECTV, I would have cancelled the entire order. I have had other providers, including DIRECTV a couple years ago, and really like the flexibility that DTV offers with the Genie system.

    I demand that Directv immediately remove all commercials that are related to the "skinny legs" Peyton Manning. I found it extremely offensive. I was born with club feet which has resulted in me having very skinny legs, and it is nothing to joke about. I have been publicly made fun of and have limitations on my physical activity. The fact that they can air that commercial so easily and not expect to offend people is outrageous. This whole company should be ashamed. If I ever see this commercial again I will be FURIOUS.

    We are a loyal DIRECTV customers for years and services are usually billed through CenturyLink. But DIRECTV billed us by error, even we've already paid the bill to the CenturyLink. After calling DIRECTV over 5 times and spent hours and hours to explain the same thing, one supervisor whom we finally got through rudely said "I can see you paid the bill to the CenturyLink but we haven't get paid by them. So we keep charging you." We were stunned. The rudest customer service ever and this is a supervisor? We are not going to use DIRECTV ever again!

    I was a long time DirecTV subscriber. Basically, my wife and I decided to build a custom home. Our house sold in one week, so I called and put service on suspension until our new property was finished. I was told there is no issues, happy to suspend account for as long as property is under construction. After 2 continuances, they would not abide by original promise and said that I would need to pay a discounted monthly rate, even though we were not using the service. Ridiculous, after 7 years I'm done and moving on to another TV provider. We were paying $140 a month, so their loss.

    I at one time loved DirecTV. If anything did come up and I called in it was handled promptly. My husband and I have been with them on and off since roughly 2000. When we did leave to see if the grass was greener on the other side we promptly returned because it was not so. With that being said...I feel that way no more. The technician that came to my home to install the service stole my husband's wallet. Can you believe that? We live in a somewhat rural area and it took him several hours to get things running so sometimes my husband I would leave his side to tend to our children or whatever and when the tech left so did my husband's wallet. When we reported it and the best advice they gave us was to report him to the police. Excuse me? These are your employees. I feel that DirecTV treated us as though we were not being truthful. Which is horrible and insulting.

    So now I feel crazy each month as I pay my bill because nothing was ever done about the theft. I also bundled my services because I signed up for a lower internet bill and a $250 dollar visa reward card. When I tried with all the codes that were supplied to me to redeem for the Visa giftcard DirecTV's website would not allow me to. So I called it in. I was told no such offer was ever offered. I was also informed that combining the 2 services did not qualify me for this special discounts that were promised to me by their own associates and flyers. People they mailed a coupon to my home and promised me these things if I returned to their company. I then called and gave the coupon codes to both AT&T and DirecTV and they promised me it was legit. If I were smart I would have recorded the conversations so I could upload the vocals of the deceit. I just feel duped. The channel packages have less stations and each add-on is $5s or more.

    I am so let down and downright disgusted. I am going to complete my one year as per my contract and I will then close the door on DirecTV and never look. back. I will tell as many people that will listen do not do it and if so proceed with great caution. I am so very unhappy and ready to cease all ties. I could go on forever but I am sure that it is time for me to exit the soapbox.

    I wanted to share my recent dealings with DirecTV. I am moving out of state to an address where I cannot take the DirecTV with me, so I am forced to cancel the service. After having the service for the past 18 months, I was slapped with a $20.00/mo early termination fee since I am not keeping their service. I was originally sold the service in a CostCo as an annual contract, but the fine print as always has added an additional $180.00 to my bill.

    This is a VERY POOR way to do business, and for this reason I will NEVER use DirecTV, or should I say Advertisement TV (way too many commercials on its channels)... The age of streaming is here and for a monthly fee of $9.95, I can connect to a large group of download sights to stream any program I wish to watch for free, and with no commercials. Long live streaming, good-bye DirecTV with all its fees, and reception issues. Be careful of this vendor, as the fees will add up, and can bite you as it did me. Very upset ex-customer.

    I called DirecTV at least four times before they even consented to send my refund for a payment sent to them in error. They kept saying that it would take as long as 12 weeks to send it back. The last person I spoke with did cut the time to 7 days. Very slow response to an issue that should have taken much less time as the payment went to them in August 2015.

    I closed my DirecTV account and paid the balance in full. They shipped me a box and preprinted paid label to ship the equipment back. I did so 4 days after receiving it in the mail. I took it to the counter of the local post office, as they choose to use the US postal service to do their shipping. I did get a receipt. 3 weeks later I got a bill from DirecTV for all the equipment saying I didn't ship it back.

    I called them and after a 30 minute phone call was basically told they couldn't track it, and would look into it and at some point get back to me. But basically it's not their problem, IT'S MINE!!! I did everything I was supposed to do, and if the USPS LOST their package that's THEIR problem since they chose them to do their shipping. If I had this to do over, I would have PAID and SHIPPED this on my own dime so at least I could track it. Because it was a prepaid shipping label created by them the USPS says they won't track it, and it's up to me to contact DirecTV. So basically I owe for the equipment I returned.

    This entire DirecTV experience has been awful. I've had one problem after another! Now I found out that they might drop my local channels in 10 days if they don't come to an agreement. We'll that's not my problem! I pay 150+ a month to these jerkoffs and I might loose one of my favorite channels. I looked it up and DirecTV pays way way way less for local channels than they do for the rest and now the local channels are trying to make it a little fairer and DirecTV is willing to drop them instead! That's horrible! What a horrible company DirecTV has become! My dumb 2 year contract isn't up till may 20th but I will be cancelling on that day!!! There are too many companies to choose from to ever again has DirecTV!! Worse company I've ever been stuck in a contract with!!!

    We have had DirecTV for about 5 months. Last Sunday an error 775 came up and we lost programming. We called the service line and they had us reset a box we had in our house and the programming resumed. During the week, we lost the programming again and we reset the box and the programming resumed again. This Sunday the same error message popped up again but we could not get the programming to resume after resetting the box.

    We called Technical Support and they had us try several things to remedy the situation. None of them work either. We were told that we would have to have a technician come in, troubleshoot the problem. They also told us we had a choice of paying $49.95 for the service call or paying a service contract of $7.95 per month for free service calls. I complained that I pay for satellite service, that I shouldn't be have to pay for someone extra to come out and give me what I am already paying for. The customer service person was very direct in if you want the service fix the problem.

    I have been with DirecTV 5 years, as most of the cable/satellite companies do, started to notice my bill slowly rising. Called about it, this guy said "A lot of our elderly customers have to go down on their packages because they can't afford the cost." I said I don't see how that's helping us. When I do retire I won't have the money to do anything, but you're going to drop my channels so I won't have anything to watch. Smart A__!

    Then I was going to get the Genie, guy came to house, said I had too many trees, couldn't do it (I have NO trees), was charged for it however. Called about that, they said I could have a DVR put in extra room. I said that's all I wanted anyway. Sent someone to put it in. Here I am a year later, bill has gone up. I decided to change carriers to get a package. Then I received a bill from DirecTV for $400 (early cancel of contract). I said I haven't had a contract since 2012, no matter. BEWARE IF YOU MAKE ANY CHANGES WITH DIRECTV YOU'RE UNDER A NEW 2 YEAR CONTRACT!

    Last week I called and asked to get the NFL channel. Their customer service told me I can get the NFL Sunday ticket and watch any game "anywhere". Today I called because it did not let me watch it on my phone since I was on the road, then they told me I would need to upgrade to the NFL sunday ticket max extra $17 per month, so I did. And now I tried to watch couple of the games on my phone, it displayed "this game is not on Sunday NFL ticket" which is so upsetting!

    So I called them back (3 times in one week) and asked to cancel everything since I can't even watch the games I want. Their customer service told me I cannot cancel because the season already started and I can't watch any games that is play on NBC (sunday ticket won't play it). I'M REALLY PISSED OFF AT THIS. I can't wait for the season to be over then I'll cancel their service and go to Comcast instead. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT AND RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Not recommended!

    HORRIBLE Customer Service. Have been lied to from the beginning. I ordered my service back in April from a DTV representative named Darryl **. First my boxes were quoted at $49 each and then when it came time for install they weren't avail for $49 so I had to pay $99. He also promised that my system would be programmed to operate off from an iPad. Some new thing they had. To this date, after multiple hours on the phone with them it still doesn't work. I can't even begin to tell you how many different excuses they have given me.

    NOW 5 months after I order my services and the NFL package. The price is now not avail at the quoted price and the 5 pay flex option is also not avail to me any longer. Even though I have all the emails and confirmations assuring me that my services were ordered and correct. DirecTV cannot fix their mistakes because "the computer" won't allow us to correct it. Not to mention, while I was discussing this issue with a supervisor in the customer service department, she hangs up on me when I mention that I will just have to post my issue on social media. I sure wish the NFL would make the package avail on DISH. I would get rid of DirecTV immediately.

    My stepfather called because they added the NFL Sunday Ticket to his account without his knowledge. He called to have it removed, and the rep continuously told him it was his fault he was being charged for it because he didn't call to cancel before they started billing him for it. The representative continuously raised his voice back to him when he was getting understandably frustrated. I took the phone from him to try to calm them both down and the rep spoke to me in an extremely condescending manner and then said he was mad at me and my stepfather because he was "being badgered into answering questions". There was a lot more to this but I'm too frustrated to continue. I have constantly recommended DIRECTV to my friends and family but that ends now. It's amazing how one awful customer service representative can ruin my impression of a company.

    We purchased new 4k televisions and decided to go with DirecTV and advised the reps we wanted to order the 4k service and 4k boxes. After placing the order I received numerous calls confirming the installation time and date including calls from the installation tech. I was given a 4-hour appointment window so I had no choice but to take 1/2 day off from work. I told him that I was disappointed with the service and was thinking about cancelling the service and he said fine! He would gladly cancel it.

    This is not at all what I expected from DirecTV. Apparently, this company is too large and arrogant to be concerned or respect the customer's time and concerns. DirecTV has made it clear that they don't care about or need my business and my response is... Don't worry you will not get it!!     DIRECTV referred Exede Internet for my Internet service. So a month ago I ordered this service. They came out, they hooked it up within 24 hours. I started having trouble with the Internet. I called the next day and was put on hold for 48 minutes. I had to finally hang up the phone. I never disconnected my old Internet so I want to head and reconnected it and canceled this service. Now they are charging me $400 for a disconnect for use when the Internet never worked properly. Now I have to pay the $400 or it will run my credit. This is not a good way to do business. I would highly recommend not using this service. They are bunch of crooks.

    We signed up with DirecTV 3 months ago. In the last 3 months, I have made over 10 calls to DirecTV discuss billing statement errors. We signed up for autopay (we received a 10 dollar credit for doing this), but every time I received a billing statement, I was charged for something I didn't agree to or I was told I would not be charged for. Of course, calling to get it resolved was like trying to get a bill passed in congress!! Even though Comcast gets the bad reputation for having bad customer service, I will be switching back to them as soon as my contract is up with DirecTV. I've used Comcast for 15 years, and they were much easier to deal with in those 15 years than DirecTV has been in 3 months.

    For some reason my DirecTV account had me having 4 mini genies instead of 3. I was getting billed for an extra mini genie for 6 months from February this year. I called customer care and notified them about this. I received credit for this. I requested my service be cancelled for Sept 2 and I start getting automated calls 3 weeks before my cancellation date to return my mini genie or else I'd get billed. Again I called customer. I was told "This anomaly happens every now and then especially when customers cancel in advance (30 days ahead) so don't worry about it".

    I received my return equipment kit on last week Saturday 9/12/2015 and I return everything that has DirecTV logo including batteries back on Wednesday 9/16/2015. I receive my final bill on Thursday 9/17/2015 with a 45 dollar charge for not returning my mini genie on 8/27/2015. I requested my service be cancelled on 9/2/2015. After spending 50 minutes with customer care trying to let them know this is wrong, I get told "Everything will even out when we receive the return kit, call back next week." I tried to prevent all of this by calling and asking questions when I started getting the automated warning calls and I still got billed for not returning mini genie. It's been quite frustrating.

    A few months back I was offered an insurance program for my electronics by a DirecTv associate. This insurance was to cover my tv, surround sound and electronics. A few months later lightning strikes a tree nearby and blew out my surround sound and a router. I called Directv to inform them of what had happened. The DirecTV associate informed me that I was cover and that I needed to pay a $50.00 service fee for my damaged component and that they would send me a shipping label to send in my equipment.

    After receiving the shipping label we hauled the surround sound components to UPS because we did not have proper packaging here at the house to ship all of the components. We watched UPS package up all of the 7 components plus a picture we had taken and inserted in the box, they weigh the box charging us $25.00 to box up 35 lbs of weight. We paid for boxing and the shipping label we received in the mail was applied to the box (we have receipts).

    About a week later we receive a email stating the component was fixed and was on its way back. After receiving the box back, we opened it only to find one of the 7 parts that were originally shipped, and a package weight of only 25 lbs. We called DirecTV to inform them of what happened. They passed us over to the company (Asurion) that DirecTV had hired to handle the components insurance. The company Asurion claims they only received the one item and will not take care of the missing components.

    I have made several phone calls to DirecTV who continually refuses to take this matter seriously and always passes us down to Asurion for a resolution. Asurion continues to tell us they only received one item and will not replace the items lost. I feel like I should have taken an insurance policy out to cover the insurance policy DirecTv sold me. The DirecTv associate I spoke to tells me I could have canceled the policy if I was not happy with it. Is this how you treat your customers, DirecTV? I gave full trust in you to be able to secure my possessions as they were being mailed. I don't feel like this case was handled properly. I feel as though I was ripped off for 900.00 worth of Bose surround sound, 50.00 for a service fee and the monthly fees you are charging me for an insurance that is incapable of protecting my merchandise.

    I have the picture we took before mailing. And to think I even took out another policy with you to cover my iPads, iPhone and computers. I assure you I will cancel these policies, they are not reliable. I have been with DirecTv for many years on separate accounts and never expected this to happen. You gained my trust and then let me down. I have included a picture of what we shipped, what we receive back, our payment receipt for boxing and various pages from Asurion. I want my surround sound back.

    This letter is to complain about service I receive from DirecTV. I originally contacted DirecTV in December of 2014 to setup a bundle for internet and cable service at my new location stated above, based on a promo that I received from AT&T. The promo stated $40 for internet from AT&T and cable from DirecTV together. When I contacted them, they told me to setup two different accounts. I stated that the promotion indicated that the bundle came together. They assured me that they would merge the billing and only charge me $40 monthly for both services, as stated. I was very pleased and excited to have received a great offer. Well, my first bill came out to $90! I was shocked and looked for justification.

    I contacted DirecTV numerous times to get an explanation and resolve this issue to the amount it was supposed to be. However, they did not make an effort to address my issue and told me that I expected a much higher level of service from customer service, and I am quite disappointed. Needless to say, I am frustrated that I fell into their false and deceitful advertising. Because I do not want to spend anymore time on this problem and I expect a full refund. I will be informing my friends, family, and other consumers about this experience.

    The first installer cruised around the outside of the house and told me he could not get a signal. He offered to schedule a second opinion which I agreed to, but apparently he did not request. I got a follow-up call and reported what happened and was told about the second opinion not being scheduled but clearly in the installer's notes as a request. The representative offered to schedule the second opinion visit and put a credit on my potential account. The technician came and seemed to have the same problem with signal capture because of landlord restrictions on dish placement, until I suggested using a pole. This was the eventual solution. He did a good clean job installing the system.

    Do not get DirecTV. Anyone that writes a review saying it is great is obviously paid my the company to do so. They have a horrible customer service and install. The install took a long time which is okay. However he didn't install internet to the TV correctly and set them up correctly. So had to waste another work day getting a real tech out to install properly.

    They messed up the billing and tried to make up for it in discounts but I still didn't get my movie stations for a week b/c they couldn't figure out why they were not activating and didn't credit me. Then the NFL ticket you are def. locked in for 6 months. They give you all these little discounts to keep you happy but you are still way over paying than cable and cable it is sooo much cheaper. You have to change your plan every couple months because the discounts they promise usually only last 3-6 months.

    The receivers also randomly disconnect from the internet or if your power goes out they disconnect from the remote and you have to go through many steps to reset it. Then the SATELLITE does go out when it rains. I don't care what they tell you. When it rains it does pause and you lose a signal depending on how long the storm or rain is. Also they have had a tech come out and look at satellite and said he fixed it but he didn't. You are locked into that contract for two years no ifs, ands, or buts. Overall horrible nightmare. Stay away.

    I signed up for DirecTV last year when moving into my new apartment that I had a 1-year lease for. I was informed I was signing up for a 12-month contract, which was perfect, considering I knew I would be living there for at least 1 year. During my time with DirecTV, I had to call and opt-out of a package that I was automatically enroled in. Not a big deal but with today's crazy time crunches and working 2 jobs just to make ends meet, the last thing I wanted to do is wait on hold to cancel something I never wanted in the first place.

    One good thing I will say is, I was very happy with my service and nearing the end of my 12-months I called to DirecTV to let them know I was moving and they were only going to charge $26 for installation at a new location. I did decide; however that I no longer wanted service with DirecTV due to better rates with another company, so I called to cancel. During my cancellation call, while on hold, there was a very dreadful song playing and the representative I got was not very pleasant. I told him I wanted to cancel. He tried to convince me not to but I told him my decision was made.

    Then he started listing off the cancellation policies one after another to the point I was only half listening. He then said something about a 24-month blah blah and I said "uh-huh" still half listening and very quickly he said, "So you're verifying that you were indeed in a 24-month contract." I replied, "absolutely not" and explained to him that I was told it was 12 months and I only agreed because I was signing a 1-year lease and knew I would be there for that long. He informed me I would be getting an early cancellation fee regardless. After that, I emailed DirecTV and informed them of my experience and what the sales person told me. The reply I got basically stated, "You signed for it so too bad."

    A few days ago, I did receive the early cancellation fee of $273 in the mail. I am appalled to say the least, especially with the current litigation against DirecTV for their deceptive advertising. DirecTV, in my opinion, has proven to be deceptive and unwilling to hear the experiences of their customers, even their good customers like myself who paid their bill on time and who would have considered their services in the future. This to me, is not valuing the customer, nor the rest of the customers who have made the company flourish. I myself, will never use DirecTV again.

    DirecTV has decided that a main receiver with HD is also an additional TV receiver which they will charge an extra 6.50/month for. Now a receiver that used to cost me $15/month with Dish is costing me 21/mo with DirecTV. DirecTV also does not tell you that the GenieGo service requires an extra piece of equipment you have to purchase for an additional $130 + shipping. Something that was part of my receiver with Dish at no additional charge. I received a bill and paid AT&T for my DirecTV service, but DirecTV also sent me a bill. Their bill was $20 more than the bill AT&T sent me because there is an extra receiver charge plus some.

    DirecTV said I "opted out of bundling" so they are not giving me the discount and they are billing me separate from AT&T. Do not bundle your AT&T with DirecTV. It is not worth the discount. DirecTV will nickel and dime that discount and more out of you. Now, unfortunately, I am stuck in a 2 year contract. Keep Dish if you have it. I am learning my lesson the hard way.

    I have had nothing but bad times dealing with DirecTV. It started from day one when a salesman knocked on my door and asked me if I wanted DirecTV. After reading the promotion they had I liked what he had and I'm a huge football fan so the Sunday ticket was something I really wanted, and it was a good promo for that going at the time.

    Needless to say I stated to the salesperson that I would not have the money to set the choice packet up on this day and asked if he could come back on the following Friday and I will get the choice with Sunday NFL ticket, the new genie box, and HD satellite dish. But he continued to state that if I wanted to get hooked up right now that he could hook me up with the basic select package, regular satellite dish, and digital receiver and then when I get my check I can call customer service and get it upgraded to the choice package with no problem at all, and that they would be happy to come out and upgraded everything I have for free and I can still get all the new customer promos.

    I even doubled checked with him because I told him that did not make sense and don't see how they will allow that and he stated that they were needing customers bad enough that it would be no problem for that to be done, so I no problem and shook his hand and got it all set up and installed. BUT THAT WAS ALL A BIG LIE SO HE COULD MEET HIS QUOTA FOR THE DAY. I called back to get the upgrade and nothing he said was true. No Sunday ticket, no free upgrade (would have to pay around a 100 installation fee for them to be able to come out and replace the receiver and dish), and I told them that I would just like to go ahead and cancel my account but I could not go ahead and cancel my account without being charged 30 a month for whatever was left on the contract I was in, which was 23 months worth of early termination fees.

    All I could do about the salesman is file a complaint so they can discuss what he did to me, with him and never know how that comes out. Then I lost my job on July 13, due to a back injury suffered on March 13 and was unable to pay my bill and it got behind and shut off. Did not know that I could have called in and got my account on hold for up to 6 months, until they took 404.45 (104.33 for bill and 295.12 for early termination, and 5 dollar late fee) out of my checking account without me knowing. I called DIRECTV up on the phone and got a hold of Dametree to see why and what I can do with what just happened.

    He was unable to help at the time and told me that I might be able to pay the 104.33 and get my early termination fee refunded back but I will have to talk to someone in billing to get this done, so I was transferred to billing and talked with a female who's name I did not get. Stated that I can do that and get my service restored and a refund on the early determination, but had to file for a refund and it will take 5 to 10 business days for that to happen so OUT OF LUCK AGAIN with them. I get sent back to the ones who reconnect your service and get Patrick who almost charges me again when he goes and resets my program back up, and then later when I talk to another billing person I find out that he set me up for auto pay without me giving him permission to do so, then find out he cannot make changes to account to make it match what I had or the discounts I had that only billing can do that.

    So with me getting charges for someone who of the promo period I told him I wanted dropped done to the lowest available programming I can get and puts me on select package, which I found out later is not the lowest one available. So I was deceived by a Salesperson, and Patrick now. I had him transferred back over to billing to try to see what is going on and got a man called Bob who needs more training .I sit on the phone for about 45 mins waiting and trying to figure out my difference I was coming up when he told me my refund amount for the early termination was only 241.46 which should have been 294.12, 52.66 difference and where did the 52.66 go?

    He kept putting me on hold to look at the numbers and do all the math himself and could not come up with an explanation of why, and when he put me on hold the third time it changed from elevator music, to please stay on the line being repeated over and over every few seconds, then came up sorry but connection could not be made and hung up on me after being on the phone for 2 hours 10 mins 30 secs. Now I have to call back. This time I go Jenna in billing who was the most help I had all night with speed for answering my questions. She let me know that the 52.66 was already put toward my next bill for the 49.99 select packet I was signed up for which made no sense. I just paid a bill of 104.33, but I guess since they already had 404.45 they will just go ahead and take the next bill out of my refund coming back, even though it was not due yet.

    Jenna is also the one who asked me if I knew I was signed up for autopay and changed it back off for me and made a note in system that was set up with autopay without my consent. With talking to Jenna about packages and the money problems I'm having let me know that the Family Pack is the cheapest available not select like I was told by Patrick and changed that for me. Jenna tried to connect me to promotions to see if there was any promotions that I can be offered since I was at 14 months and someone should have called me when I got to 12 months to make some offers to see if I would keep my programming I have, but since my bill was behind I did not get that call, but with how my luck was going they were gone for the night. It was a little after 1 am in the morning.

    I was on the phone with her for 46 mins. And was told to call back in the morning to check for promotions and that with all the trouble I have had with them that they should be able to find something for me that can help. Little did she know but when I made the call in the morning and talked with Amanda she stated that there was no promotions at the time that she could offer me and that I can call back in a month and check again if I would like to. So needless to say I was lied to by the door salesman, deceived by Patrick, confused with Bob, Jenna tried to be a big help I think, and Amanda did nothing to help me in promotions but say sorry I've been treated this way and please call back. So in 10 months when my time is up I will be removing your service from my house.

    I was misled by a DIRECTV salesman who came to my door to sell me on their service. The man told me "they'd bill you at the end of the month not the beginning unlike other companies." He said a lot of other b.s. to basically everything he could to get me to agree. All untrue. I was billed the very same day they set up my service! The guy who hooked it up even cut my internet before he left. It took them a week to come back and fix the wire! I called the guy who sold us on all the b.s. He stated to me to get me to sign so he could get all the issues worked out. He said he'd call back and never did. So I wrote a complaint with the FCC about all the lies and misrepresentation I got from them.

    A few days later David ** who works for the office of the president of DIRECTV got back with me and asked me about my issues. I told him everything and he said "do the actions of one of their reps. We could cancel our service with them if we chose to without a cancellation fee and just pay for the one month we used." So that's what we chose to do. After the month the service was turned off and the very next day a woman called from the company telling me her boss didn't want to lose us as customers. She said they'd give us a $100 credit towards our account and an extra amount off our bill every month if we'd stay. She said she had to talk to the girl who handles billing to find out how much off they could give us. I told her it was up to my fiance and he was at work till 3am so she said she'd call back the next day to see what we'd like to do.

    In the meantime she said she would like us to enjoy their service while we made our decision and quickly turned the receivers back on. We never heard back from her after that. And then we got a bill in the mail for $226.94! We called the number for billing and they said their records show WE CALLED THEM and asked for our service to be turned on! And the bill was for two months of their service. We told them about the woman who called and what she said. They had no record of her. I said "well I still have her number on my phone record. I'll call it and see who I get on the phone!" I called the number and dealt with AMBER FROM BILLING. She was rude and interrupted me every time I tried to talk! She asked me why I wanted to discontinue my service with them. I got upset seeing as I'd already had to explain my issue with two other members of DIRECTV already.

    She then proceeded to ask me during my frustrating conversation with her if I wanted to stay with the company or not, wow really! So she said she'd call me right back about my overpriced account bill once she gets it all straightened out. She called back 3 hrs later and starts talking to me as if I'm keeping their service. I said "wait I don't want your service." She said I told her I did. I got so upset I could've spit nails! I said "no I didn't!" Then she started getting rude and basically called me a liar! Why would I stay with a company that is so unprofessional and was giving me nothing but frustration! It's ludicrous! My damn receiver is still on after I made it extremely clear I don't want their service!

    When you are with the co., their packages are not bad. They do a pretty good job of maintaining signal in stormy weather. Be warned prices are going up and you pay a hefty sum for commercial laden channels. The poor marks relate to my attempt to cancel the service due to moving plans. I spent at least 1/2 an hour or longer with my fake John Wayne accent representative. He was doing all in his power to make sure I would continue to pay money to DirecTV. He strongly suggested my cousin was lying about where DirecTV can service. I believe my cousin when I'm told they didn't subscribe to DTV because it wasn't available in her area.

    He is then telling how he can give me a few free offers to football and the like. Gee, if I'm moving and I believe my cousin, a lot of good that would do. Finally, when HE decided he wasn't going to get any money out of me, he then tells me about all these fee, charges, and other bills I might receive when I left the co. It felt like a threat to me. So I do not plan to go back to this service ever again. If you are in an area where they service and never plan to move, you could consider them.

    I cancelled my DTV account and was told I would receive check for a refund. That was a lie. Instead they are offering a prepaid visa card. This is nowhere in my contract and nothing I have agreed to. I am dealing with cancer and the bills are piling up. I need the money back now and they refuse. Speaking to supervisors did not help. They refuse to provide a phone number for their corporate headquarters. Better providers are out there. Protect yourself and find a reputable one.

    I ordered the NFL Sunday ticket max on 9/13/2015. DirecTV customer service did not inform me I needed a new HD receiver. I am unable to get channel 701/702/ or 704 when it's part of my Max pkg. I asked (customer service) CS if they were going to send me an updated receiver and they told me "not for free". I paid over $250 for the pkg and they want me to pay an additional $99.00 for an HD receiver for three channels!! They offered to waive the $99.00 fee and then give a $50 credit but I will have to sign up for two more years of service and pay the HD fee for the updated receiver. All this for three channels??? There is a thing in CS called doing the right thing and DirecTV hasn't done right by me. They gave me a $50 credit but I still have the same DirecTV system and still don't have access to all the channels I paid for as part of the Max pkg. This is not how you treat your customers, DirecTV.

    Upon calling to schedule my address move with all of my utilities and other household services, I hit snag with my DirecTV services. I was informed that I would be billed $169.98 to move my DirecTV service from my current address to my new address. I was taken aback by this simply because all of my utilities and other services are not charging me anything for moving. Additionally, this fee or any mention of any penalties levied against customers who move their services to a new address was never mentioned on the contract that I agreed to. I say "agreed to" because I never physically signed anything.

    A customer service rep. from DirecTV confirmed that to me over the phone today that they do not disclose that information at the time the customer accepts the contracts and services from DirecTV. This is flat out wrong. The customer service rep. took pity on me and granted me an additional $100 credit toward my moving fee. That's not good enough. If DirecTV customers are expected to pay this fee upon moving their services, it should be stated in the customer agreement. Not hidden from view. At this point, I feel trapped. I still have 16 months remaining in my contract. Therefore, I either pay to move my services or pay the early termination fee.

    I reported this to the Better Business Bureau. I was contacted by DirecTV's Office of the President. The person I spoke with repeated what the original rep. told me and refused to do anything about it nor acknowledge any wrongdoing by hiding this fee from their customers. I would advise anyone considering DirecTV to refrain from their service simply because if they're hiding one fee, they'll hide another. DirecTV shouldn't be trusted if they're going to hide anything from their customers. I'm counting down the days until I can cancel my service.

    When we called to hook up service we told them we were in the process of buying a house and they told us "Don't worry we have hassle-free moving." When it came time to move out service, a couple months into the contract, it was hassle-free but what they didn't tell us was that it would cost $250. And I asked why it was so expensive, I was told they would be installing a new dish and other equipment. When I met the technician at my new address, all he did was turn the receiver on and wait for it to load. I could have done that myself. It literally took him 5 minutes and it cost me $250! Are you kidding me? So when I called customer service they basically told me there was nothing they could do.

    So it gets better, I have been waiting until it was cost effective to buy out the remaining months on my contract. Now that I have, I called today to make my last payment and the customer service lady asked me why I was leaving. I gave her a honest answer and told her I would never be a DIRECTV customer again. Instead of just taking my payment and letting us both carry on with our day, she hung up on me. What the...? So after sitting on their automated system and finally getting someone on the phone, she just hangs up on me. What a joke! Never again!

    Had DirecTV for 6 years and could not have been happier. Was a loyal customer from 2008 to 2014. I experienced a signal that was never interrupted, unbelievable customer service on the phone, quality calls when we did have the (rare) service interruption, etc. Most of all, the agents on the phone were educated, personable, and genuinely cared to help. Overall, the exact opposite of most customer service providers. The only reason I cancelled was b/c since having our son, TV was rarely on and when it was, it was cartoons. Not something I could justify $95 a month for. Now that my son is older, I decided to reactivate. The sales rep was great, exactly what I was used to. I called on a Monday and she set me a 12-4 on Wednesday. I'm out of town, but my Dad can be there. Great! I book the appointment. This is where the "good" ends.

    I get an email at around 2 pm on install day. "We haven't forgotten you! Your technician is still scheduled to arrive by 4 pm." What a great contact. Felt good about it. Let my Dad know. 3:30 he texts me. "30 min and I'm gone." He's obviously tired of waiting and I lose track of time (again, out of town). I call them back to check. The agent I get sounds like he's got the IQ of mayonnaise and is eating something. He tells me he will call the tech. I hold. He comes back and says he could not reach the tech, but they will get the message to him and have him call me back. He tells me the guy was held up at a job in the morning. I ask how he knows since he didn't talk to him. He replies LITERALLY (I wish I was making this up) "Yeah, there's some notes on the account or something." Wow. Okay.

    I ask why I wasn't called earlier than 3h 40m into a 4h window, and Mr. Mayonnaise had no answer. 3:50 comes (12-4 appointment, mind you) I get an email (not a call) to tell me that my NEW arrival window is 4:45-5:15. (Install will take 2 to 2.5 hours) My Dad has been there since noon. I don't even attempt keeping him around. I call and cut him loose. He's less than pleased. I call DirecTV back to cancel the install, waiting for the "why" part so that I can let them know. I get a new agent who is equally as mush-mouthed as the first. No accent, just can't seem to speak normal English. The agent takes my request and informs me that my pre-payment of install charges will be refunded.

    This is where the AT&T purchase becomes obvious. (Disclosure, I have tried U-Verse and AT&T internet two times each and have never had a worse experience with a service provider in my life. All four attempts resulted in 11 days of "service" TOTAL before cancelling.) This agent NEVER asked me to reschedule. Never asked me how they could fix it. I told her how the experience went down and she basically said, "Cool. Whatever." I commented on this, and she copped an attitude. "You never asked me to reschedule, sir." Right. But I never said I didn't want to either. Thanks, DirecAT&T... You've confirmed my fears. Too bad.

    I guess they are now partners with AT&T and service is horrid. It was great before. Now it's constant lag. When you push the guide button it will freeze causing you to reset the box then it takes 10 min to find the signal again. When it does come back better hope you like what's on because if you press that guide button you're frozen again. Great move DirecTV.

    I suspended my account in March because I was moving and had it turned back on in May. I was charged $100, and they failed to explain why I was charged so I cancelled for that reason. I could no longer afford the new bill and I couldn't afford the $200 mover's fee. I was informed that there would be a $270 early termination fee which I understood and let them know I would pay it monthly as my regular bill which was about $50/Month. I also requested that my bank information be removed from record to avoid charges and that automatic billing be stopped. I made 1 payment and then upon check in bank account to make the next payment realized they charged me the remainder of the fee $225. I called the same day and requested that the charge be reversed because they had no authorization to charge my account.

    The girl confirmed that I requested my bank account be removed and that she would send the request for refund to the finance dept. I called again Tuesday (was a 3 day weekend) and was told it was being handled and would take 5-10 days for it to reflect. Checked my email today and found an email stating I would not receive a refund because the contract is valid. I called to dispute and all the billing dept could tell me was that I won't get a refund because the contract is valid, even though I requested that my info be removed. All in all they took money from my account unauthorized and because of this I am now unable to pay other bills. I will never recommend them to anyone and I will never return as a customer. Absolutely the worst service I have ever received.

    It started out with getting away from dish net and trying direct TV when the sales person came out. They needed a card to get started so I gave him a card to start the installing. When all said and done I clearly told the sales person to now change my card to a different card to be billed and they even took the number. Well, come to find out that never happened and now we get hit with a $570 charge on an account that was told to be changed in the first place. So now they are saying "Tough luck your loss." I am very lost for words with that. They never blame their staff it's the person who fell for the scam in the first place. STICK WITH NETFLIX. You will be happier in the long run.

    Found out that my complex didn't allow DIRECTV and had to cancel my appointment. Sales representative was very helpful and pleasant. One of the few times that I enjoyed speaking to customer service. I give her 10 out of 10.
