    I have tried for months to get my iPad connection with DirecTV to keep freezing with NO resolve. Same story with Genie **. These apps basically DON'T work on the iPad. By DirecTV's own admission, we are 'working on it' but can't be responsible for the OS. Really? I suggest you request compensation through customer service, may take 3 levels of management to pressure them to adjust to their advertised promise and fix.

    We live in a rural area and we are sort of at the hands of our DSL provider which we don't really like or think is very competitive in prices. There are only two providers in this area, one is Endeavor the other is DIRECTV. We really wanted a package that put all in one package. Only DIRECTV could provide that. We are presently under contract with our TV which is DISH and we like their provisions. Others are working on service in this area: DISH, AT&T, New Wave. It seems that maybe Endeavor is trying to get what they can get because they know more competitive prices are coming. I may be wrong but 8 MGBS per second is pretty slow for the price we are paying and the cost is more if we want faster service. Our service is not a very much faster than dial-up. In the past I had DIRECTV and I didn't like the ** that came across with the regular channels at night time.

    DirecTV should be ashamed of their policy. I could not get a quote for service unless I gave them my social security # and DOB. I would not do it. I politely asked them to quote as if I have a 740 Credit Score and they would not do it. Makes me think I was going to be chasing down fraud charges. BAD Practices. Very BAD.

    I ordered the basic cable package as to assess the quality of Directv. The time was given to the operator as to when to arrive for installation (3:30).     The installation process was HORRIBLE! I was given a 12 to 4 window and called about 20 times trying to get someone out that day. I personally took off work half and had my elderly grandmother sit for other half of today to only have my - installer never show up. After numerous Phone calls finally the cavalry arrived and 4 technicians professionally took care of me and did an Awesome job. If not for their attitude and willingness to do right I would have cancelled before I even used service. My experience to get technicians to house was horrible and caused me a lot of problems. I repeat if not for the guys' attitude that showed up I would have never used or referred you all to anyone. I do expect that you will do right by me a fix or make up for this experience.

    TERRIBLE, every time dealt w/ DIRECTV. They always pull a fast 1 on us. Latest 1, cancelled our svcs because they raised the price to the sky. We called to negotiate. Rude, they'd rather give best prices to new customer, not established customers. So we cancelled. Rep said, they send us box to return equipment. Limit was 21 days. We called two additional times to get the boxes mailed, because the 1st and 2nd rep didn't do it right. So had we trusted and waited, those boxes would've never made it, thus making our equipment late and CHARGE. We were adamant and responsible to get their equipment back to them – Main receiver and Genie. Sent it on time, took pick of label and box. We were sure, we met the requirements. 3 WEEKS LATER, a charge for $48.65 appears in my savings/checking acct. And account I had NOT USED TO pay their bill in over 3 years.

    This particular account of mine which happens to be a Chase account was only used once on the initial installation back in 2013. After that I updated my bank information to a BofA account from which I pay my bills from. So they charged my account DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY RECEIVED THE EQUIPMENT. No matter what do, to ensure you follow directions, they find a way or reason to charge you. I called back to explain to them: 1st, they should not have charged me. 2nd, they charge an acct I don't use to pay my bill, so they made me incur a $12 bank fee. The 1st girl - PH Rep I spoke to, said not problem, refund coming. The 2nd girl - PH Rep said, the request for refund was denied. Now remember, the 1st girl never told me that she was submitting a request for a refund, she said, the refund is coming. So the 2nd girl, requests the refund again.

    7 Days later, 3rd PH Rep very nice guy – Deric explains to me the refund was denied yet again, because they realized the card they charged was NOT AND "UNAUTHORIZED CARD". I never claimed it was "UNAUTHORIZED". All I had told them, was it's an old account I haven't used to pay my bills with. BY NOW, I HAVE SPEND 12 HOURS OF MY LIFE TALKING TO DIRECTV OVER THIS REFUND. Deric makes detailed notes and transfers me to billing. Oh by the way, he cannot talk to the billing dept for me. So I have to explain this story a 4th time. 4th PH Rep tells me my refund has been processed and I'll see it on my account in 3-5 days. Nine days pass by, no refund. 5th PH Rep, nine days later, "The refund was processed 3 days ago and you will see it on your account within 3 days." Five days pass, no refund.

    6th PH Rep: (BY NOW I'VE SPENT ABOUT 20 HOURS OF MY LIFE DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE.) "Ma'am, your account is closed so we cannot generate a refund, the system does not allow it. So you will receive a visa check card in the mail within 30 days." – with middle eastern accent. MY QUESTION: why couldn't the previous 2 billing girls explain that to me? DIRECTV is a piece of ** company, that cannot train their people right. Talking to them is like talking to the wall. Oh because they don't talk to each other... So you have explain your story, each and every time you call, a manager will never pick up the phone. Actually it would be more pleasant to talk to the wall. I am almost sure to train them to make us stories just to get you off the phone, and you never get anywhere with them. DISGUSTED.

    My local channels wouldn't come in, after multiple phone calls to customer service, my faith in DirecTV is gone. I was given empty promises about return phone calls, discounts on my bill and how many receivers I was getting. I've been a customer since 1998 and NEVER received such POOR SERVICE.     Called to have mine and boyfriend's accounts merged. We live in same house. My boyfriend had a stroke and is disabled. I take care of him. The tech comes over and looks around. Says I have to call DirecTV and have account merged, which I already did that. That was the reason he was there. So I get on the phone with them. They take down all the box numbers and say "ok account are now merged". I had perfectly fine tv connection at this time. When I hung up with her, my tv service was disconnected and my boyfriend account was to be connected to 2 tvs in others parts of the house. I go outside to tell the tech they were merged. I could not find him. He got in his van and left. He did not tell me anything just left.

    So there we sat with NO tv and NO tech scratching our heads wondering what just happened. I had to take off 3 and half hrs of work for NOTHING. I got on the phone with DirecTV, I got passed around, put on hold, disconnected twice until finally I was talking to the 9th person, Yes 9. She assured me she could help. She also told me that the tech had called and cancel the work order himself after he left our house. He must have been lazy and or dumb and decided he just didn't want to do it.

    She told me that a supervisor would call me within 1 hr, LOL. We both knew that was not going to happen. I was on the phone for 4 hrs with DIRECTV and the issue that DirecTV caused was never resolved. I called them again, as bad as I hated to, this morning and I was told that there was no record of a tech being at my house. Issue is still not resolved. Being disabled, my boyfriend cannot do anything but watch TV, but who knows when he will get his tv back. Only GOD I guess. I have never been treated so disrespectful and so poorly by any other company. DIRECTV has by far the service in the universe.

    We had issue with Directv not working. Called Directv - was told 2-3 weeks for service tech to come out. Canceled service. Went with another service provider, returned equipment to them. Was checking our bank acct they removed 210.75. When we called Directv rep told us that they would reverse charges if we came back to them and give us 200.00 Visa gift card.

    We were transferred to another rep and when we asked her why we were charged she said from ordering movies thru remote in 2012... First of all the box wasn't hooked up to the internet plus we always called in movie purchases and were charged at normal billing cycle. I WILL NEVER HAVE DIRECTV AS A SERVICE PROVIDER AGAIN... You wouldn't even get a star if it were up to me.

    I had DirecTV for years. My kids who are 4 and 7 LOVED it, my wife loved it. But our contract ran up, we owed them money. They got all their money and contract was up. We wanted to put DirecTV in my name or my wife's, it was in mother in law's name. Due to their HORRIBLE credit check system we did not have all that money upfront... Well she had a heart attack last year... So dealing with everything going on with that and deaths (we had 3 people die in matter of 4 months) we were FLAT broke. Once they disconnected our service they went ahead and took all the money we owed them out of our bank account and canned us. I wish I somehow switched bank accounts so they could of never of done it, either way though DTV got their money. It was not like we owed a ton of money. I believe we're behind 1 month.

    So they end our contract (it was up), they get their money then we ask if we can just start it back up since we've been customers and paying our bills for years with them.... NOPE they wanted a huge amount of money UPFRONT! Which we did not have and they did not want to give us "new customer" deals even though we are technically new customers.. So now we are stuck with DirecTV. Keep in mind that while I had DirecTV I got them 3 customers! I got my mom to order it, I got my brother to order it and my friend got it all because I told them it was THE BEST!! What do I get in return? They want all this money upfront that I don't have. I could pay my bill easily every month, I just don't have UPFRONT money. So I switched to Charter. I hate Charter BUT my goal in life is to get as many people that I once told to get DirecTV to cancel.... I basically had it for Sunday Ticket.

    Well I have tricks up my sleeve now DirecTV and Charter gives me HIGH-SPEED internet to do just that. You are terrible people. All we wanted is service, instead you want all this money upfront when you know we always paid our bill. Bad company. I did love their service but if you have the smallest little thing on your credit they will want 2-500 dollars from you upfront PLUS they won't give you deals that RICH people get... DirecTV is an evil company. This is a company that called at a wake and I told me they were shutting me off while my kids were at home with the babysitter. I begged them to wait until after I got home to figure something out. NOPE. EVIL PEOPLE WHO ONLY CATER TO THE RICH.

    What happened to me is what the FTC is suing Directv for in March 2015. The way the scam works is the company tacks a "free" premium channel on, doesn't let you cancel during the free period, and then bills you after the automatic renewal. The company doesn't care if you cancel during a two year plan because it then assesses an early cancellation fee. In this case, the scam involved the NFL Sunday ticket from late 2014 - October 2015. The company is now owned by AT&T so uses AT&T's business practices.

    They are LIARS. I had DirecTV for 1 day. I called for pricing and agreed on a package with NFL Ticket. It was clear as day. The price also included HBO for the year. Well I was duped. Once the installer was done, I realized I didn't have the Travel Channel among other basic cable channels. I was wondering what was going on so I called. They said I have to upgrade to the next package which of course is extra. I was upset and asked about the NFL Ticket and was told I don't have that either. I was pissed! And of course no HBO either.

    My package was the lowest of the low and was lied to in order for me to sign up. I was done and cancelled right away! Took about 2 hours and luckily I avoided the cancellation fee. To top it off, when I went outside I discovered the installer left a complete mess. He left a box and several baggies all over the place. What a scumbag. Worst experience in getting cable my whole life. Stay away from this company. Obviously they don't tell the celebrities that do the commercials that they lie to people. Never again!

    Requested an additional box so could add another TV. Asked them to send it, but said they had to install it... After my wife spent 50 min with their rep on the phone, on hold for most of it, he gave her a schedule for the install. They came and installed the additional box, 110.00 later and a 7.00 additional monthly charge. The next thing we know, they send a notice that we just added 2 years to our contract. I called and asked why, they said that was their policy. I said "No 3rd party person verified this was going to happen. No one said it was going to happen." They refused to take it off, and told me to write a letter to the president of DirecTV in Colorado.

    What the heck kind of deal is this? Just add time on and the customer has no say so or rights. All of the people I spoke to and also online, all said they did not have the authority to remove it. So now I have to write this letter. Don't see this ending nice. Wouldn't recommend DirecTV to anyone. Good tv, crap for service if you have an issue.

    In an attempt to merge their two systems, DirecTV/AT&T (D/A) has completely lost control of the process. It takes almost an hour to speak to an agent. The automated system loops you out into their options with no way to get back. The voice recognition software does not recognize your voice!! The website attempts to link your two accounts but says that the service/option is not available. Come back later. As a result, I plan to buy the Amazon system and close my DirecTV account. I will also shop for a new cell phone provider. D/A has clearly reached beyond their competence. The system is obviously FULL OF BUGS. They should have taken more time to get it right.

    Read some of the reviews and have to agree that the reviews must have been by either paid individuals or company officials. They promised that I would have very little downtime and virtually no problems, all this is lies. Since I signed up for the service they have been out twice. This is in a 3 month period. I was to be able to get local channels, but already am losing the channel I watch most. If I change from one channel to another, sometimes it it takes between 15 to 30 seconds for something to happen. There are times when I try to change channels that the picture will go out and after 30 seconds to a minute it decides to change, only to return to the same channel. I want out from under this contract!!!

    Signed up 8/2/15. Have not had access to any online content whether via Directv app, HBO app, NBC app or any other app I've tried. Error message says "account is not active". Login works on website to view and pay bill but does not allow me to view any content online. First attempt to resolve issue was 9/2. Tried via phone, chat, twitter and email since then. STILL no resolution.

    The last person I spoke with today said he believed my account was not provisioned for these services although I am paying for these services. He "said" he was escalating the issue via an internal web ticket (the fifth escalation we've tried since the inception of the issue) and I would have the issue resolved today or tomorrow. I have ABSOLUTELY 0 confidence this issue will be resolved. The follow up is slow to nonexistent. Some of the reps appear to be either aloof or under the influence. I left Comcast for Directv for a better value. Since signing up with Directv I do NOT feel valued at all. Apparently this is a pretty common issue. One would think a corporation this huge would have a handle on.

    After having DIRECTV for 13 years in Missouri, we moved to Wisconsin and expected the same great service. Instead, we have fallen into the vortex of AT&T plus DIRECTV horror show. The DIRECTV installation never generated a paper bill or a bill that I could view on screen, so it took the second bill to find that they said we had 5 tvs, not 4 and that I DID NOT order or approve of the so-called protection plan. That took a two-hour call to straighten out and to be told to pay a lower amount.

    The next bill did not reflect that correction, and ran on for 4 pages full of confusing credit and new charges. Combining it with the AT&T first bill didn't help as they had also not billed what I was sold on the phone. The system for dealing with errors takes forever. I have at least a full 24-hour day in time on the phone to straighten this all out and I still don't think it is right. Go elsewhere! Stay away from these people at least until they figure out how to run a service business.

    I ordered the Ultimate Package bundle on Thursday, 24 Sept 2015. I was told that the Ultimate Package included internet and telephone all at 1 charge of $54.49 per month for 12 months. I was given the appointment date of 29 Sept 2015 between 8 am and 11:30 am. The tech showed up on time and began to work. I asked him if he was installing the internet and phone also. He said that he would install DIRECTV only and I needed to contact DIRECTV. I tried the chat help line and was told that they could not give any info about my account and gave a telephone number to customer service.

    I called customer service and it was terrible. I was finally informed that I did not have a bundle package and that I would have to pay for internet service myself. I asked for a supervisor and no one ever answered. I called back and finally got Jane on the line. Jane confirmed that I did have the Ultimate Package which included the internet and phone but I would need to contact AT&T for the appointment. I called AT&T and was informed that they do not provide service to my area. It would have to be mobile and I would have to pay for it myself. I called back to DIRECTV and spoke with Brandy. We were soon cut off and I called back again this time getting Michael. Michael is the worst of all of them. He refused to look up my account and told me I should keep DIRECTV and pay the bundle package even though they knew that I was lied to and cheated.

    I asked him about the holes in my roof and walls from the installer who had to put in new wire. He told me it was my fault because I gave the tech permission to install the new wire and dish on my roof. I immediately cancelled my service and had the tech remove the dish from my roof. They knew when I ordered the Ultimate Package that AT&T did not service my area because I had to give them my address and credit info at the time of placing the order.

    They lied to me, they would not answer my questions and then Michael placed the blame back on me because I gave the tech approval to start the install. Tech was great about it and informed me that he would not be paid for his work because the install was cancelled by me. DIRECTV is the absolute worst company that I have ever dealt with. They do not deserve to be in business and tried to take advantage of me thinking that they could lie to get the business and I would keep it rather than having it taken back out. Bait and switch at its very worst.

Scheduled an install on a Wednesday, Tech showed and began complaining, 1st day on the job, can't go on the roof (???where did he think the dish went?), call Customer Support and they'll get someone else out there today. Called Customer Service and they said the Tech said there was no line of sight (clearly a lie). They said they would get someone out there for a 2nd opinion on a Friday, 9 days later.     I am a brand new DIRECTV customer (4 days). I was told that my Genie Light boxes (2 of them) would get me on-demand services. Turns out that is not true. Only the regular Genie box with the DVR gets on-demand. When I called customer service (4 times/2 hours) I was told I had to pay $99 to get the new boxes. DIRECTV lied about their boxes' capability and now are trying to gouge me for more money. They would rather lose me as a customer, and 2 year revenue stream than admit they messed up and get me new boxes. This is the state of DIRECTV customer service. Stay away.

    I ordered DIRECTV package for three tvs. First sales person very courteous and knowledgeable but somewhere the wireless portion got missed. I wanted wireless genie hookup. When the installer came he looked everything over until I said something about the wiring not being needed and he advised me that I had ordered hard wired Genies and that it would be $99.99 for the wireless. I told him that was not a problem as that is what I wanted. He did not have the equipment to install wireless so he went to find some from another installer. I felt that I should call into customer service after looking at the email I received with my order as it did not say wireless nor did it say hard wired, just DIRECTV Genies. I was transferred to another salesperson that went beyond my expectations to resolve this matter.

    I did receive a phone call from the installer while I was talking to the saleslady, so I took that call and he was very upset with me as he had to go on a different job and if I had not called customer service he would have taken care of the install himself. I hung up on him for his rudeness and told the saleslady that I did not want him back at my home again. His name is Cory and his phone number is **.

    Cancelled DIRECTV after the contract period expired. Made all the requested returns and "auto pay" made the final payment. I was told that there would be a PRORATED ADJUSTMENT made and a check would be sent within 30 DAYS. I am still waiting, calls to customer service result in a lot of jibber jabber but no action. It has been a few months and still no check. Hopefully AT&T will clean house and return integrity to this deceitful organization. I was told that I would get back about $75.00.     DIRECTV scammed me. I told them I already have a landline, but they said it's free anyway. End up canceling a $65 extra charge from their internet/phone CenturyLink. I told them I do not want equipment protection but when their guys left one of them called back said he signed me up "by accident" to this service, and I have to cancel it. When I called to cancel, customer service said I have to wait a month and remove this service on the exact day.

    At the moment I sign up I had only one TV at the house. The rep said "no prob, for $6 I can add additional TV." 3 weeks later I got my new 4K TV and asked for additional box. Customer service wanted for Genie $400 and for a simple box $200. I asked a supervisor to talk to me to escalate my concerns re bad customer experience- no one called back. I wrote an email. Got a reply, DIRECTV working on my request. 3 days later I wrote again. And finally girl from customer service call and offer a $25 discount, that is approx 6% discount on $400.

    Then I said I want to cancel. Waited 15 min on hold, and nice lady said that it been more than 14 days and she will bill me $450!! I explained that I was on 2 different business trips and was not able to check out great features of DIRECTV. It was 19th day of service, but CS said "can't help." The worst part, DIRECTV promised that their On Demand will replace Netflix and Hulu as I was streaming before, but all movies are not free and I have to resign up with them. So dear customers please read all reviews and get yourself best deal - bigger plate, better boxes, as once you sign DIRECTV is no longer interested in you.

    Service for only three months and the shows freeze, sometimes no audio, sometimes recorded shows no audio. Even multiple recording on different channels at the same time, no audio or they froze during the recording. If it happens live you can switch to another channel and go back and then it's fine. So to my dismay when I called Customer Service, the rep tells me I have to pay $49 charges for them to come check cables and she said no to a new box even though she admitted it was probably that. Also it is very easy to cause these issue and make consumers pay for resolution as I don't put anything past anyone today. So how does a utility like AT&T now that owns Direct get away with this scam? I even heard they pay BBB for good ratings?

    I entered into a 2-year agreement with DirecTV approximately Oct 2013 for my daughter. I returned to Illinois after recuperating from Ovarian Cancer. My daughter got evicted so I had them install in my home. I was told by the installer that I had a free move. DirecTV tried to charge me, stated they waived the fee then took $383 dollars out of my account without my permission. My contract is up Oct 2015 and they are saying that is incorrect because I ordered a DVR Box and that was for 2 years. I WOULD HAVE NEVER AGREED TO ANOTHER 2 years and WAS NEVER ASKED OR TOLD I ENTERED ANOTHER 2-year agreement.
