Your staff is very well trained and personable - and they speak good english in a day and age where many companies send calls overseas and a customer can't understand what he is being told. I had ordered DirecTV (now AT&T) actually switched from U-Verse to DirecTV with the knowledge if I cancelled within 30 days, no cancellation fee. After 2 weeks of no TV due to rainy weather we all decided to go back to U-Verse (which was not bad, just we were out of contract and wasn't eligible for any promotions, bill was over $300). So we went to DirecTV, called AT&T and explained service was terrible and please switch us back. They came out within 2 days and set us back up under a new promo with a great price. All was well. One week later I called back to tell them I needed boxes sent to send back equipment--same number. I am told it is now 31 days and now have to pay $445 cancellation fee!!! Even though we did the change back a week or more ago!
Every person I spoke with (and I went to the top) was extremely nice and patronizing with their tone, almost enjoying the fact that they had this power to do this to people. I even was told I could get the legal department address if I wanted! These are not people with feelings. They are robots who enjoy charging people this kind of money in December! I have never seen or heard of this type of behavior to a customer. Just sad as now our Christmas will be different. This should have been waived, and when I said that, the top manager said "there is simply no reason to." Horrible company to do business with. All the happy ones above, have had nothing to argue with them about yet. Just wait.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR DIRECTV!!! In the Fall of 2014 I saw an advertisement for DirecTV and their wireless cable services. After a 2 hour phone call, the salesman had assured me that the wireless service through DirecTV was the way to go in my house because of the way it was constructed. The technicians came and stayed all day making sure things were working properly. After a little over a year, one of my tvs stopped working. I called DirecTV and they sent a technician out. He was at my home less than 10 minutes when he said his only solution was to hang a wire out a window and string it across the room. This solution was unacceptable to me, it's not what DirecTV promised me and I have also been paying more for the wireless system.
To make a long story short, I called DirecTV back and spoke to a VERY RUDE supervisor named Andy. He basically told me that they can't back up what the salesman told me and that I was out of luck and stuck in my contract. Basically, their salespeople will tell you anything to get a sale but then the company doesn't back them up and the consumer gets taken advantage of. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND DIRECTV.

When I opened an account with DirecTV they required a $200 deposit from me to secure payment of the account, as I am retired and disabled. At the time I closed the account, they refused to credit the $200 I gave them to my closing balance and insisted the $200 was theirs to keep regardless that all prior payments were timely. After much correspondence, they began sending derogatory information to the credit bureaus and have continued to affect my credit this way.

It was really smooth for second time. The first technician wasn't a good help at all, we canceled it. But second technician was really helpful and explain to me how to use it. Now we have more than enough program to watch!!!

ALL of my experiences with everyone from Directv have been exceptional. I'm not in the process of switching over cell phone service from Sprint to AT&T because of it. I'm a very happy customer.

While going through a divorce I contacted Directv over a bill. I paid the balance and stated do not I repeat do not let my soon to be ex-wife (I stated the name then but will keep that name out of this posting) any access to the account. Not even a few days later she had access to the account and start services up again. I didn't know of this matter until 1 year because the bill so so current on payment then bam... An almost $400 bill shows up my credit report because the only contact info was hers. Which was never Well I have the time line from Directv and was told it was Access Fraud. I had Ms J. in the Access Fraud Dept call and state it was fraud.
I called the local police dept to file charges and when the detective spoke to a representative at Directv it was stated "it was a mistake on their part and theft was done". Yes the bill was wiped out from the company, but the Collections is still reflecting on my Credit Report for a so-called mistake on their part. I love how someone can use your account that should have no access put a bill against you and it's just a mistake. HMMM interesting isn't it. I would really like to get this so-called Mistake off of my credit report but I see this may take awhile even though Ms J. told me within 60-90 days this would be all squared away. Yeah right.

I am very unhappy with DirecTV. They quoted me a price of $50 and with taxes and extra fees I was expecting my bill to be around $60.00. My bill has been running around $120 a month roughly. They lied to me first off and secondly my bill is nowhere near $60. Complained for a couple months and said the best they could do is adjust my bill to $75. Very unhappy with DirecTV.

The AT&T rep was very nice and efficient however I was on the phone for an hour and he had to offer all kinds of insurance and other options. It went on forever. I am a patient person but I don't see how an impatient or busy person would tolerate the length of time on the phone. I cancelled my order because I wanted Uverse and it was not available in my area so I went with Time Warner.

Everyone at DirecTV I worked with were great, unfortunately they were unable to install a dish due to the location. When I called to cancel the order, everything was taken care of quickly and completely. No follow up phone calls needed to finish the job.

DIRECTV preformed a credit check that hit my credit report. They refuse to say why and who authorized it. This is a fraudulent attack on my credit.

I would not give any stars, but was forced to pick at least one. Do your research first before ordering DirecTV. Just had the service installed 3 weeks ago and first had a day of vacation to have a service tech come out to try to sync the TV's. The problem is when both TV's have the same channel on. They are off by 5-10 seconds. He told me that "this is the norm". Are you kidding me? This is driving me crazy and now we have to suck it up and live with it for another 101 weeks? He suggested to have the genies swapped out for HD receivers, then all TVs will be in sync.
So again, I'm on the phone with them to have the receivers switched. This will only happen if I want to pay an outrageous amount of money. So for a two year contract (730 days) I only have 14 days to change anything? All I can say, is that the next 709 days will not be pleasant. Only good sight in 709 days will be calling DirecTV to cancel our service and looking forward to saying goodbye them.

I bought a 4k TV at Sam's club about a year ago and there was a person from DirecTV that told me the only way you can get 4K signal is through Direct. No one else has it. So I bought the package and later was told "If you don't have a Samsung we have no way to get the 4k signal in your TV at this time." But they told me that they are working on it and when they have the box needed I will get it. I just talked to Direct and they have what is needed to give me 4K but it will cost me about $100. I was told my TV won't be upgraded till August 2016. But if I pay for the box they can do it now. Plus I must sign another 2 year agreement. I told them I will go without and when I find a company that has 4k I will no longer be with Direct or AT&T. I have been a customer of AT&T for about 20 years. So if anyone thinking of Direct because they have 4k you might want to check. Because in my eyes it's like a scam.

My installer was probably my least favorite part of dealing with DirecTV. He was here for two days installing the service and tracked mud through my house. He also forgot to put the metal piece that goes into the TV on one of my boxes so I will have to call him back to do that.

Leading up to the installation I have had to call a few times to ask questions or update my programming and each time the reps were helpful, nice, and resolved the issue quickly. We are returning DIRECTV customers. In 2010 when we had the service it was great. We returned in 2014 to a dishonest company. From the beginning of the contract I had problems with DIRECTV doubling up on payments from my MasterCard using autopay, then being unable to return it. So I took the account off of autopay, even though this caused me to lose some of our promotional discounts. It took us months of calling, with an attempt to cancel services before they would refund our money in the form of a credit to the DIRECTV account. On November 11, 2015 we cancelled our services and after receiving the shipping boxes returned the DIRECTV boxes on 11/30/2015. On the night of December 4, 2015 I was checking our bank account and happened to notice a large sum of money missing. DIRECTV had taken an unauthorized payment directly from our debit account.
On December 5, 2015 at 9:00am I called DIRECTV. At first they gave me the runaround about the boxes. After confirming that they had in fact received the boxes a representative (who said he was a supervisor named Jonathan) said that he could return the money to my account. He said he did this and then put me in touch with billing. Billing gave me the runaround with no results. After getting off the phone and looking at my account, I then noticed they had reactivated my account. I don't even have any DIRECTV boxes! So called the corporate line. They were rude and ineffective, 1-800 representatives were at least polite. I reminded them that they did not have authorization to debit this account. Tim confirmed that though this was not the primary card, they use any card that you have used on that account to withdraw funds. They did not ask me about using this card, nor did I authorize this card for use for this transaction.
I would like my money returned to my debit account which I have made known to the Account supervisor Chad. You must first confirm any charges with a person before removing funds from a card. Otherwise why have any guidelines about account usage? I regret going back to DIRECTV. Regretted it from the beginning but now this confirms there will not be a return visit. I am hoping they will be honest enough to return the funds they fraudulently charged and at least restore my faith in the ability of them to rectify a wrong.

All of the sales representatives I have worked with have been extremely helpful, patient and friendly. I would give them all a five-star rating. However, the reason I gave a one-star rating overall is due to the problems we have had with communication issues between DirecTV and AT&T. We initially scheduled with DirecTV and bundled three services through them. I was told that all services were scheduled for installation. However, on installation day no one showed up to the house and after speaking to a wonderful representative it was determined due to a communication error between the two companies there was an issue.
We had to reschedule the installation which was another 4 days. My husband and I both work from home and only were able to use 4G resulting in us having to increase our data plan to over 40 gigs this month and it cost us a lot of money. Also, my account has been duplicated and we spent over 30 minutes on the phone today trying to yet again straighten this out. I should also mention the original call to set up services was 11.24.15. Today is 12.5.15 and we are still waiting for DirecTV to be installed.

Where I am going to live there is no cell phone coverage. I don't have a phone (land line) yet, no internet connection, and there in only 1 radio station that sometimes comes in or not (this is up in the mountains). I needed some entertainment for the months it will take me to complete my home. Now I will be able to watch the news or some movies in the evenings. I currently have Comcast in my home across the state, but it is expensive and the channels are crappy. I only have the basic package. Hopefully, I will be able to get better channels from you guys. I am not a tech savvy guy. Some of this stuff goes over my head. I do not yet know if your company also can supply me with an internet connection or phone service. I will cross that bridge when I get to it.

I had recently moved to a different neighborhood & not really sure what DirecTV was cable or dish until I received emails about it & found out it was dish a couple of days before it was to be installed. Finally, after I got a hold of the landlord, I was told that I could not have dish where I lived. I was disappointed, but I had to cancel the installation. That was the purpose of the call to DirecTV. They were very polite & efficient.

Tell Afni to remove the collections from my credit report since I restored services with you. You hired Afni for collections. They lied and said they would remove the collections from my credit if I restored my services. Afni contacted me when I was in dispute with Directv's cancellation policy. I had just lost my job and tried to settle this as best I could without having a job. Afni asked me to file unemployment in order to pay for this and that "I sound like I could actually pay it all", whatever that means. If you don't believe me, have them pull the calls. The balance was $309 and they wanted me to pay $285. I couldn't do it without a job.
After this was sent to collections, someone called back and said "if you pay $29 and restore your services, we will remove this from your credit within" (again, pull the calls). I asked why wasn't this an option before putting it on my credit and they didn't have an answer for me. It has been almost 2 months and when I called and asked why it hasn't been removed they said they don't do credit deletions for payment. I said well, the deal was to restore my services to have it removed. I would have NEVER restored services with Directv had that option not been on the table. Right now, it says the account was paid in full at $309, which is wrong. It should say $29 and restored services and be removed.
This was not explained to me. They SPECIFICALLY said if I restore my services, it would be REMOVED from my credit report. Again, I would have NOT restored my services with Directv as they are a very incompetent company, and employing another incompetent company for collections. BBB, you see they aren't pulling the call because that's exactly what was said during my call. I wish I recorded the call since they are scamming me about this. I was 100% misled by restoring my services because they did not meet the agreement. And again, it is incorrectly reported on my credit report now. You all need to state $29 was paid to restore the service. You JUST SAID you "waived" the early termination fee. That is NOT what my credit report states. I will be contacting you all and filing complaints until this is resolved as this was clearly false advertising and misleading.

The ads they show and the responses from sales representatives are not accurate. Read the small print! The 72 hour rewind is only on certain shows and not very many at that. DISH allows you to record sooo much more! And wireless in not very wireless when you have to plug in the box. Make sure you pick the right package or you will be paying big bucks to upgrade your package (which I refuse to do). Feel free to call back several times to receive the correct info on what channels are on each package. (Hallmark Movies can be purchased for an extra $5.00 in the middle packages.) News to me after 3 months! The tech also cut my wiring that connected to the upstairs that was put in the house when it was built! If I could do over I would not have switched!!

Set up service. Was quoted for the select package $55 plus tax the first month because it was pro rated. Then bill would be $25 plus tax every month afterwards for the first 12 months. Paid $55 plus tax the first month. Now second month's bill has come out and guess what... $55 plus tax again. Call and complain and I'm told they don't pro rate the first month's bill. They won't give me any of my money back and the manager can't credit anything to my bill. So my suggestion go with someone else. Because I had $30 in my account to cover the bill coming out and they've now overdrafted my account so I have to pay the difference the overdraft fee.

I bought the Internet + TV package from AT&T and DirecTV through Cyber Monday Promotion, I've quoted $60 but after couple of days I got separate email from AT&T and DirecTV quoting monthly estimated cost which was around $71. When I tried to reach them both AT&T and DirecTV were blaming each other not able to honor the quotation. I've spent many hours getting transferred from one dept. to other. Buying bundle with two companies who operate independently is a BIG mistake...!! My suggestions, don't buy bundle from AT&T DirecTV... they'll not be able to help with any billing issue.

I have been a customer of DirecTV since 2011 - I have moved 2 times in this time and have very little issues until now! Discontinued my service in November - received the box to return the equipment at the end of November - Contacted Customer Service to ask a few questions about returning the equipment, as well as what my final bill would be. Representative I spoke to was very helpful, however when I attempted to make a payment on the account, I was informed that my account had been sent to collections for non-payment and that they would be handling my account from this point. I contacted Constar Collection and made arrangements. Fast-Forward 1 week later... DirecTV Fraudulently and without authorization took $513.57 out of my bank account.
The card that was used was not authorized for use by DirecTV and at no time had been set up on Auto Pays. I contacted DirecTV immediately and was advised that any card used to pay on the account is kept on file, and that any unpaid balance can be taken out at their discretion, regarding of what payment method (i.e. credit/debit card) is used during the life of the account. Over about a 6 hour period of time and 2 days, not to mention 8 representatives/supervisors/managers, they are refusing to return the money. They also informed me that they are at liberty to collect on the account, regardless if the account has been sent to collections. DirecTV is a dishonest and corrupt company! The people I have dealt with speak strictly off of a script and have zero people skills what-so-ever!

If you ever plan on moving do not get Directv, costing me $100s extra. Customer service is bad. Talk to 2 people in 1 day and they tell you 2 different things. Lies and more lies. Yet again costing me well over $300 on this month's bill for a single standard tv. Spent many days on the phone and still don't get anywhere. Wondering if paying the cancellation fee would be better than paying this month's bill. Bottom line, do not get Directv unless you like spending tons of money and time out of your day on the phone.

I've been getting harassed by DirecTv and their collection agency as they been trying to collect on a account that they claim I had at an address that I had not been living at for over a year. In 2012 I sent their collection dept a certified letter requesting a copy of the contract with my signature approving their service and they have failed to provide it to me saying that they don't require signatures to sign up with them. The next thing I was instructed to do by their collection agency (NCO Financial Systems Inc) was to file a police report for identity theft which I did and mailed them a certified copy.
Shortly after I got a letter from the collection agency (NCO) that they would remove this account and contact the credit bureaus they do business with to delete the listing regarding this account (acct#**). Three years later 2015 I get another letter from another collection agency (IC System) on behalf of DirecTv trying to collect on this same account (acct#**). This has been the 4th collection agency trying to collect on this account on behalf of DirecTv. They continue to fail to provide me with a copy of a contract where I've signed up for their service, and I know they will never get one because I've never had service with DirecTv, and I also don't know how they got my social security number. They keep threatening to report this on all 3 credit bureaus if I don't pay, what can I do?

There is a serious deficit in DirecTV customer service. A few weeks ago, I wrote up a list of channels that I wanted and called DirecTV to see about getting an upgrade to my programming plan that included all of them. I specifically included the Pac12 Network in that list, and was assured by one of their representatives that I would have all of the channels on my list immediately.
On Saturday, I was flipping through all of the channels to try to find the Pac12 Network so that I could record the Cal vs. Oregon State football game, but could not find it. Then I called DirecTV customer service and asked if I had it, and they said that DirecTV does not support this channel on any of their packages. When I mentioned that I was misled into upgrading my package with the promise of getting this channel, I was told that I could be compensated by getting one free month of Showtime. I said that was unacceptable and requested six free months of upgraded programming for my time and trouble. Two different escalation managers called me, but I was unable to answer and so they left messages, but without any way to get back in touch with them.
Meanwhile, I was unable to watch my game, which was very annoying considering that I was paying extra money for a package that I was told included this channel. I called again this week, and explained that I was fed up with this poor customer service and wanted out of my contract with DirecTV so that I could go with someone who has the Pac12 Network. I was basically given the runaround, with the representative telling me that I would be able to get many of the games that I wanted. But actually, this is not true, because there are a large number of Cal basketball games that are only televised on the Pac12 Network. Then I was transferred to Employee # **, Gray, who told me that the only thing they could offer me was a $20 credit on my bill. I consider this to be a slap in the face.
The bottom line is that I want out of my contract. Since DirecTV in effect violated the contract by falsely offering services that it couldn't provide, I expect the contract to be rendered null and void, so that I can acquire a new television contract with another company. However, even the Office of the President would not allow me to get out of the 24 month contract. This company is being run into the ground by AT&T. You've been duly warned!

Ordered AT&T Internet & accepted bundle AT&T Internet & DirecTv. Installer disconnected my current provider, installed Dish, then told me Internet not available. Immediately canceled. Now AT&T & Directv will not remove dish & reconnect my old service as they found it. Because of lying sales rep, I lost day of work, hours on phone, have holes in my roof & will have to pay my old provider to reconnect. AT&T & DirecTV refuse to just put things as they found them and are charging me for service & connect fee! Scam!

My first contact with DirecTV was at the Forest Drive location. I found the staff not being as supportive of each other. However, my connection with the O'Neil Court location gave me a new perspective and outlook. My equipment has not been installed yet but I feel confident that if anything happens, I can expect the best service.

I ordered NFL Sunday ticket for the second half of the NFL season last week for $99. I ordered late last Sunday 11/22 and didn't watch it much that first day. Today, my first real day using it, I had dozen of dropouts, some several minutes long. It was a disaster performance-wise. I stream all sorts of things and this was the first time I've had a problem. Something was clearly wrong with their service. So I called them. I was on hold 18 minutes to begin with, then transferred to a 43 minute hold. (When the hold time started I thought there might be a technical solution, but after waiting so long I decided I did not want to waste any more time and wanted out.)
Finally someone answered. I talked to a guy who put me on hold again and finally came back and told me that I only had 8 minutes drop out during 2 hours (which DIRECTV said was acceptable!). 8 minutes in 2 hours! The truth is I had a lot more drop out than that. Anyway, they said no refund, they did not offer to improve conditions, they said it was only 8 minutes and if it was more than that it must be with my service provider. Again, I never got the system working and they were utterly unwilling to take responsibility. Terrible company.

We were ATT customers for years. Upon calling to find out how I could reduce my bill, it was suggested that I switch to DirecTV due to their recent purchase of the company and the low rates available. The installer came and was at my home for 5-6 hours as he trained two new technicians. The technicians were very nice so I didn't mind the very long install time. It rained two days after installation. My roof leaked into my son's room beneath the new dish that was installed. My roof is only 2 years old and it is a high quality roof.
I called DirecTV immediately and was told that I had to file a damage claim. I started the process and submitted photos but requested that they come out and at least cover the area around the dish if they could not send someone out to remove the dish. I was told that they would not do that. I had to get two estimates, pay for the repairs and submit receipts. I then asked to cancel my services and was told that there would be a cancellation fee and that, even if I cancelled, they do not remove the dish. I will now be forced to take off work to meet the roofer and handyman to repair the interior damages. Horrible customer service and horrible damage claim process.

Called to disconnect my DirecTV service. From the first I explained that I am discontinuing my DirecTV service and that I wanted to know: ONE = How do I return DirecTV's equipment to them?, and; TWO = How do I get a refund of my money for the remaining 30 days which was paid for on 11-25-2015. The representative I argued with for 26 MINUTES and 54 SECONDS would NOT follow my wishes to disconnect my account. She tried reduce my monthly payments by $40 a month for a year, and give me free NFL TICKET for 2015 (whoopee the season is almost over??). If they can afford to give me all this STUFF for a year, why were they overcharging me in the first place?? DirecTV should rename it "THE CUSTOMER TORTURE CENTER".

Two of my remotes on two of my three TV's worked for 3 weeks. After spending hours on the phone with customer service trying to fix the problem, they concluded they do not guarantee the remotes. They also said they do not send technicians to your house for that reason. After 10 months of inconvenience regarding two of the remotes, I disconnected and they charged me an early disconnect fee of a 160.00. What a scam.

Well I have had DIRECTV for approx. 10 hours now. I can say the change in the channel lineup is a little different, but nothing I can't handle. I can say that anyone I dealt with at DIRECTV was more than helpful. And the price for the same service from TWC is much less. Thanks.
