I repeat that unfortunately I had to cancel my service before it started due to a sudden change in my living arrangements. That is the only reason I canceled my subscription. I had a good experience with the salesperson, Cheyenne and with the CSR, Asia. I thought they were both very competent with excellent people skills.

I need new service for cable because we're moving to our new house. I called DirecTV and after she ran my social security number, she said I would have to pay $150 which does not go towards anything like the equipment, payments, etc. The $150 is a punishment for "supposedly" having a not so good credit history.

Each person with whom I spoke was personable, spoke clearly, answered questions, and was knowledgeable. My last call was due to a typo in a text about my installation date. The text said tomorrow with the date of the following Saturday. I wanted to ensure the correct day and date was on file.

Even though the mix ups occurred with original orders, was frustrated from my wasted time to resolve issues and the lack of info between departments and companies that could have made my experience a whole lot easier and quicker the reps helped as much as possible.

Now, that AT&T and DirecTV have merged into one I couldn't pass up the chance of their bundle which is really a pretty good deal. I re-signed up for AT&T Uverse Internet and bundled it with DirecTV. Oh boy what I did was very wrong. I have been an AT&T customer for years and everything is great, no problem at all. But in this situation is different. Uverse tech showed up at the time they said they would to connect my internet. DirecTV tech was nowhere. I called and I can't even reach anybody and to make matters worse is nobody has even tried to call me to correct the problem.
I spent all my Saturday trying to get down with what happened. As soon as I woke up I went ahead and call them (9am) until about 11:39am after 7 different people and telling them my story over and over - again of course nothing was done. Now, they said they will be here between 1pm-4pm. It's now 4:12pm and nobody has showed up or even just a courtesy call from them that maybe they are late or something. What the heck DirecTV? Some people would take time off from their job to so we can have your service but you failed to meet your end.

I became a DirecTV customer about a month ago, switching from FIOS. My biggest concern was bad weather and some horror stories I read. Things like DirecTV lies about snow effect and lots of slamming the service during bad weather. So I had them install dish near a window, thinking I would have to figure out how to keep snow off the dish and expecting the worst. I live in Philly and we are in the midst of a blizzard. We have about 18" of snow so far and blizzard conditions. I am more than pleased with DirecTV. The fact is I have full HD service and no station outages. The technology of their service blows FIOS away as well. Maybe because I have newer equipment, great satellite signals, but whatever, I felt it was time for an honest good review for them since it seems most people who post are ones that have issues and complaints. 8" more to come during the day, so keeping fingers crossed. Great job DirecTV.

Tried calling first time and the system didn't connect me properly and just rang and rang. Second call was lucky to get the best customer service employee ever named Stephan to help me. He was everything you would expect, like that commercial where it's you helping you. Regards.

All the positive reviews on this forum are from people who STARTED their service with DirecTv. Of course their experience was positive, it's all smiles and claps on the back when you open an account with any vendor. The TRUE mark of a good company is what happens when you have a complaint or want to close your account like I have tried to do today: I have called literally 8 times, each time on hold for over 25 minutes -- when you choose the menu item to close service, they dump you on HOLD hell. This is their MO hoping you'll go away. When I finally got a hold of someone, they "accidentally" routed me for no reason at all to a different department. I'm not kidding you. We were in the middle of a conversation, all of a sudden I hear a dial tone and I am being transferred to the international channels department. I had to hang up and call all over again.
When I finally got a hold of someone AGAIN - after much rage and fury - after another 20 minute hold, the guy "accidentally" hung up on me!! Just straight up hung up on me. After saying he was "sorry" for the aggravation I went through. Never again. Do not go with this company. IF DIRECTV GOES BANKRUPT WHICH IT SURELY WILL DO IN THE NEAR FUTURE, IT ABSOLUTELY DESERVES IT.

I was contacted by Hector ** in November 2015 and he went on to tell me how ATT DirecTV merged now and they can offer me a great package. I will have all my programs in 4K because they have fiber optic cables. I specifically asked about that because if I was to change from cable to them I would like to get 4K since I have a new 79" 4K tv. Well I find out not only a few programs are offered in 4K and I would need a specific receiver to get it for additional costs and even if I did get the receiver my tv (LG) isn't compatible with their receiver so it wouldn't work anyway.
Also I asked him why my receipt says 2 year contract since I didn't want a contract. He said that's the old contract, they won't hold me to a contract if I'm not late on any payments. Well another untruth I found out it is a two year contract. Next lie he said I will get HBO, STARZ, CINEMAX, SHOWTIME, for the entire time I stay with ATT DirecTV. Again he said if I keep it 1 year or 5 years I will get them free as long as my payments are not late. Well no not true again. I found out that's only for 3 months then I have to pay extra if I want to keep them.
Next Hector said I also have the NFL package for the remainder of this year and next season as well, nope another lie. I was told only this season. I called him about these untruths when the tech came to install the equipment and he said he was unaware of the 4K issue and felt bad about giving other people the wrong information and if I want he will try and get me that receiver without the extra charge. I declined because I needed to find out about all these lies before I cancel the service. He told me I had 45 days to decide if I like or want the service to try it for the time then cancel. I had the tech call his supervisor to see what my trial period was. The tech said two weeks.
I tried contacting ATT DirecTVabout it and they said 24 hrs. I explained the situation and they transferred me to someone else and I wanted to cancel then. They told me since I went through this I had to the 15th to decide. Well I noticed I didn't have specific channels I wanted and was told prior I would have and finding out that channel wasn't part of the package. It would cost an extra 5 dollars and after all the aggravation and hours on the phone talking to many agents on both ATT and DIRECTV I cancelled only to be told I was getting charged early cancellation fees of 20 dollars a month for the year which came to 480.00. I argued, I was told I had time before being charged so I argued and told I want to speak with a supervisor. After speaking with that supervisor she told me they will waive the fees just send the equipment back and they will send boxes to me for that.
A week went by no boxes. I called and asked and was told the boxes will be sent and I owe early cancellation fees. I explained again I was told I had time and was told by a supervisor that I would not be charged, so I talked to another supervisor. She said, "Ok. I will waive the fees." I called ATT to let them know I cancelled because you have to communicate with both even though you get one bill. Well next thing I get a bill for 121.69. I call again, they said I'm good. Next I get a bill for 604.10. I call DirecTV and explain it all again. They put me on hold and I get disconnected so I call again, explain it again, the agent says I don't owe DirecTV anything that I need to call ATT. I call ATT and explain it all again. They say I owe DirecTV. I call DirecTV, explain it all again. I told them I'm getting the runaround. They say ATT paid them 453.61 on Dec 16 and to call retention department.
I call the number he gave me and explained it. She said "I'll connect you with a supervisor." The supervisor said she needs to connect me with ATT again. Next thing I'm on with a agent from DirecTV. He doesn't know anything so I explained it ALL to him and he figures ATT paid them and they need to tell ATT so they DirecTV can reverse the money and because I cancelled and don't owe anything so we waited on hold for hours and he told me they disconnected him so he was gonna call them back while I was on hold. Still more time goes by and he told me they wouldn't let him do anything because he wasn't the account holder. He explained he was an agent and gave his ID # but they still refused. He told me he was gonna try and expedite it and they will either straighten it out or if not send me a refund so I can pay ATT and be done.
Now I'm so beside myself. I get a email from him at DirecTV. They are sending me a check for 505.93 so I call ATT and explain it all again. She says, "I'm Brooke from Missouri and I see it all on the account." I tell her "I'm getting ill from all this craziness. I need to settle this now. I shouldn't owe anyone anything." So she said, "Hold while I get DirecTV on the line to fix this." After waiting she came on and said "I have them on now and it will be a few while we discuss your account." I say "If I get disconnected please call me back." She said my phone number and told "Ok hold."
Well after holding again for a while I got heard the music stop and a message came on saying I can go online or hold for the next available agent, after a while I get an agent from DirecTV again who knows nothing so I explain again how I was on hold with ATT they were online with you, DirecTV and waiting for Brooke to come back on with me. What happened so I was furious by now and said "Put me on with a supervisor. I need to get this straightened out now." She connected me with Brian. I explained it all to him again. He was helpful and got Ann on from ATT. She said I owed ATT for the few days of service. Brian on DirecTV side refunded my owed money.
ATT Ann said she can lower my bill but I still owe ATT, by the 24th of February 2016 or they will report me to credit bureau, I explained I have impeccable credit with zero late payments so I guess I as a consumer was approached by a salesman from ATT to try out their new service. He told me all untruths so I canceled and had to go through hours and days of aggravation and now have to take more time out of my life to get DirecTV money to pay ATT for a bill I shouldn't have.
If the public knows this is what they might have to endure to try switching over to ATT DirecTV package they will stay as far away as they can because No consumer should get screwed like this ever. I will NEVER have anything to do with these companies ever again. They screwed me once but never again. I'll be happy to stay with my cable company who doesn't lie to people and then charge them.

All DIRECTV peeps I have talked to (4) have been very good, had Comcast for 10-15 years, they are rude, rude. You have so better prices...So far you are way better. Big kudos to Tamisha, Jasmine, AND a guy I talked to with Eastern accent, I did not get his name. But CenturyLink Reps have none of your skills...

I had just had DIRECTV installed and it was working fine when he left. When I tried it after he left I must have done something wrong because I couldn't get any sound at all. So I called for help and was very satisfied with the tech that guided me through getting through the sound bar.

I called about an hour prior to talking with Crystal and I felt like that rep. had no idea what he was talking about. Every time I asked him a question he would have to put me on hold to figure out the answer. I finally got frustrated and called back an hour later. I was pleasantly surprised when I got Crystal as the next rep. She completely understood what I wanted and how to handle it.

We are new to DIRECTV. We want to be able to use our Bluetooth TV in different rooms in our house. When we signed up for DIRECTV we were not told that there was an option involving a wireless bridge available. Now it's 2 months later after we've finally settled in and are utilizing our system more and we realize that we are unable to use our wireless TV in different rooms in our house.
When we called to look into the wireless bridge we were told that it would be $250, that there were no discounts available or credits available to us for the equipment that we already have in our house (the Genie and Genie Mini) and that the reason was that we had not been a customer long enough to deserve an upgrade. This despite the fact we wouldn't need an upgrade if we have been told initially the service was available because we would have chosen it at that time. And in the course of this communication to add insult to injury the person who waited on us was rude. Discontinuing service.

I am quite sure that one of DirecTV's hiring requirements is that you must be brain dead. I have to call every month to correct my bill. Every month they tell me that they have it all straightened out. I don't have time for this aggravation and frustration. I am done with them. Got my bill today, guess what, wrong again. This call I will make will be to disconnect service. I am so done with these IDIOTS. They have some lying, cheating folks in their retention department. Last year I called to get my programming changed. I needed a lower plan. I am a disabled veteran and could no longer afford what I was paying anymore due to a limited income. I was out of contract at that point. I agreed to a one year contract with the lower pricing. The price I agreed to would not increase. Twelve months later BAM, I get a huge bill. I called and said to cancel service. They said I still have one year on my contract. I blew a gasket.
I asked for them to playback the tape where I entered into this contract. They did not have one. They took the word of some snot nosed brain dead swindler that probably does not work there anymore. I explained, I have a limited income and it is never going to go up. Why would I agree to something that I once again would not be able to afford. I explained to them that their employee makes commission on every sale. Who would be more likely to lie. The brain dead IDIOT on that other side of the phone could not understand what I was trying to tell them. Too bad so sad for you. Let me also say that you will be hard pressed to find somebody to speak with that is actually on American soil. I can do without these kind of companies. I like to support the United States of America. Good luck if you use this non-American company. If it is working out for you, that is great. This is only my experience.

I never leave negative reviews but I felt like others should be aware of how DIRECTV really operates. I signed up for a bundle service and paid my bill every month on time. Come to find out they never bundled it correctly in the system and I was getting billed for full internet (CentryLink) and full DIRECTV. The first 3 calls to customer service (which were 3 way calls between the two and myself) were helpful yet nothing ever got fixed so on the 5th call I decided to cancel because I was moving (military). Once the individual realized that I was determined to cancel (keep in mind I was respectful) they became completely disrespectful and would not correct any of the things that were stated. At the end of the day I was charged an early cancellation fee because I canceled a service that was promised to me, yet I only canceled because they could not get the service correct. I hope this helps someone avoid a bad situation.

My whole experience with DirecTV has been nothing less than excellent. Day of installation I had to leave the house as close to noon as possible. The installers got here at 8:00 and performed like the experts they are. I was out of house on time.

After wading through the maze of DTV/ATT automated phone network, I finally got a chance to talk to someone. On my third call, I was able to get all of my questions answered and felt comfortable switching my service. This person was not able to take care of some additional wireless additions and changes I wanted to make. It took 2 additional contacts to get me finished with what I wanted to have done.

When we subscribed to DirecTV, we chose service on a monthly basis, just wanting to try the service. Customer Service assured us we were under NO COMMITMENT. When they do the install, you sign something -THAT is the commitment. 2 years, in fact. So after 5 unhappy months, we are still on the hook for 19 months of service and equipment rental. We were LIED to and DUPED into a 2-year term when it wasn't what we ordered. How can they get away with that? That's bait and switch. If you dare to try DirecTV, read everything. DON'T SIGN ANYTHING. So I say, if I'm on the hook for the duration of the 2 years, why not keep the equipment? Because they will file against you. When you call, record the conversation. Tell them you are and if you dare to follow through and do sign something, have an attorney present. If you're only option is DirecTV, Read.

At the time of placing my order I was mislead by what I would receive in the end. 1/14 today was the day I ordered the service, and I was given a price point of 3.99 for one international channel that I was already paying for with Time Warner at the amount of 11.99 and so for that I went ahead and decided to complete the order. The sales department told me to have the tech complete the order and to call the customer service department to get that channel added for the price point mentioned. 1/17 this was the day that the tech came and installed only one satellite but needed to come back again the next day because someone forgot to mention that I also would need the international satellite as well since I order the international channel. 1/18 the tech come back and installed the other satellite and one box and he wanted me to check out the channels.
That's when he realized I didn't have the FTC channel I asked for and so we needed to call the customer service department. We called and to make short of this I was told I needed to get a package of the amount of 25.99 which I was not told of this from the sales department or I would have not continued with the order. I took the package since I had to stay with it now since the box was activated and I didn't want to pay for the 20 dollars a month for the remaining months of 24 months and so they provided me a 50 dollar credit. 1/19 I called to verify the credit and I was declined the offer until Jose got it for me since the notes in the system was placed that I should have a credit. But now I'm in a 24 month contact paying more than what I paid with Time Warner. Also they monitor their calls so hopefully you can obtain that call and verify that what I wrote was the truth.

DirecTV is a horrible service to have!!! Their agents are not accurate or nice! Their agents give wrong information out to the customer, then when you complain about it they aren't willing to fix the problem! They are a horrible service, I will never recommend their service to anyone!!! Do not sign any contracts with them, expect to get screwed over when you do!

The Technician who installed the service kept me informed of arrival time and I also received a call from DTV the day of the appoint with the same. They both were right on time. Technician who installed the service was so thorough. There was no need for questions. This was a great customer experience from beginning to end. Keep up the AWESOME service DTV!

We were traveling and wanted to watch our saved programs on GenieGo. They had a new software update which I did and the new software cleared our save information. When we were trying to link back in we were told we needed to be at our home 7 hours away to set it up. What nonsense. I spent 1 1/2 hours to find out that they couldn't help. Hung up on once, disconnected once and lots of wasted time with no help.

I ordered DIRECTV because the offer was very satisfactory and it would have saved me money. I cancelled because I was not aware that I would have to disconnect all of the equipment and take it to UPS or pay $600.00 for their equipment, per AT&T. That is the reason I cancelled.

Avoid DIRECTV sold in Costco, Sarasota County. If you have Verizon FIOS, stay with them. They have better service. 5 days without service waiting for a technician. Just a few technicians available to cover the area.

I've been with DirecTV for 3 years and wanted to end my services when my contract expired. DirecTV transfers you to the retention department who does everything they can to make it difficult to cancel. They will argue and try to wear you down.

This company is awful. Service is awful, products don't work, customer service is never american, always somewhere in Asia. You can never understand the agents and they always insult your intelligence. When you tell them that the equipment is broken they don't fix it, they just give you more channels or a discount. Then the package they added for "free" starts being a charge after 3 months and they don't tell you that you have to cancel the package or you'll get charged. I HATE THIS COMPANY!

Everything went well except they said I could access tv from a pc or tab within 30 min of set up. Two days later I got to log in and it is very limited. I can only get channels 202 and up until my equipment is installed. This was never explained before hand so I missed all the NFL playoff games because I couldn't get local channels. And the reason I got DirecTV was because it was supposed to lower my AT&T bill, but you can't change service until your equipment is installed. That means I called AT&T and stayed on the phone about two hrs with a 3 different people that said they were going to do everything that day .
I only got direct set up, because everything had to be set up by different people, Internet, cell phone and direct. Direct you had to pay $1 AT&T I had already and Internet you had to pay a full month upfront. If it's a bundle it should be so hard to bundle. It's very aggravating. Please simplify or some people won't have the patience I had. I still have more rounds to go through this mess. As a consumer you have a monopoly where we have to save money somehow with a family but it seems you have to jump through way too many hoops to save anything. This could be handle way more sufficient.

I was told that the price in 2nd year would be $24.99/month; however, it is actually 2 times more. Yes, $59.99/month! After a year of the 2-year agreement, they told me it can't be $24.99 even if I cancel some channels. On the agreement letter, they do not describe the actual price for the 2nd year, so please do not think they will give you any discount in 2nd year. I would not sign up in the beginning if I know the truth and will cancel it as soon as I can.

Spoke with the best customer service rep I have spoken with at DirecTV. Her name is Gianna and she was exceptional. She answered my questions and concerns about adding DirecTV to our motor home. Upgraded our home equipment to Genie with a minimal installation fee and set up the appointment for the same day. Explained that we can use our existing DVR on the motor home and then gave us Starz for free for 3 months! Gianna was so friendly and helpful. She recognized our last name and discovered she went to school with our cousin. This was the best customer service I've experienced in a long time!

I called to connect my DirecTV to the Internet. I had been connected previously, but had been unable to connect for a few weeks. I called at 11:05 am and spoke to Shayna. She had me go through several steps that I had already attempted. She told me I should keep trying. Since I had put it off for a couple weeks I found the answer unacceptable. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She told me none were available. I asked for the name of the supervisor, but she wasn't sure. She said there were too many to name. I asked again to speak to a supervisor.
She put me on hold for six minutes. She came on, mispronounced my name, and said she was waiting for a supervisor and placed me on hold again. I was on hold for another ten minutes, then transferred to a line with hold music. The line was picked up after approximately 30 seconds and Shayna announced Shaquita as a supervisor. Shaquita had me go through the same steps, identified an issue, and instructed me to reset the receiver. I spent a total of 52 minutes on the phone to have it resolved by resetting it. Poor customer service!

I was dissatisfied because I was told I was receiving the fastest speed internet and yet I found out all I received was 24MB when in fact because of the area I am in that is the highest. I left Cox Communication because of a very similar reason. If I had known that you only offered 24MB upfront I would not have signed up with AT&T because I was getting 100MB at Cox. That information should have been disclosed to me with my initial contact.

I just want to make a list of things to make others aware of. First, discounts that are promised will just "fall off" of your account without you being told. If they come out to fix their equipment that is malfunctioning they say it will cost you nothing, but then slide a service fee onto your bill. Then when you call to ask about it they say "well do you think you could have fixed it yourself." They will promise you money on a redeemable Visa card to get you to renew your contract then it never gets added to your contract after you agree. Then when you call about it they will say its being elevated to the national office and they will call and they don't.
If you want to add another box to a room you have to sign a new 2 year contract from that date. They will offer you free programs and if you don't call to cancel them they will continue to charge you for them without notice. Listen very closely when talking to them then follow up on everything they promise. I think their tactics should be illegal and the government should step in and do something about them. Overall just be skeptical of anything they tell you. Good luck!!

My problem stemmed from the channel lineup for Choice package that was contained as a link in my confirmation email on Jan 8. The lineup DID NOT contain any regional sports networks, especially Root Sports SW. I called your help desk on Jan 8 or 9 and asked why. I was told Root Sports SW was NOT included in Choice. I explained that the listing on DirecTV's own website shows that it is included, but the rep on that day was emphatic. I almost cancelled my order that day.
I called again on Jan 10 and spoke with a different rep (Rebecca, Empl. ID **). She was able to appreciate my concern. She took the time to research my concern. She then explained that the Choice channel listing in my email is generic for the entire U.S. and has no Regional sports channels listed at all. She further explained that the listing I was seeing on your website is specific and lists the appropriate regional sports networks since it is based on my zipcode which had to be entered before the list would display. She assured me that the regional networks would be in my package. The dish was installed today and indeed they were.
It would be helpful if the listings you send with the order confirmation state that it will not list the customers regional sports networks and that the customer can rely on what appears on DirecTV's website. That would have eliminated the heartache I had and time I spent making sure I was going to get the channels I was paying for. Even better, the list in the email should be the full and correct one since you do have the customer's zip code by that time. Thanks.

My service for 2 years was good, never had any problems. But when I moved and was unable to take DirecTV to my new address they turned shady. My early termination fee was $26.00, yup that's it. No complaints. (Wait for it.) So I gave the rep my address. She told me that the law says I can have any cable co. I want. I'm like "really?" So I checked and yes that's true in Oregon. But my manager said no so I call back terminate the service. They were supposed to send me a return kit to send equipment. So I'm wondering why I haven't received anything in the mail. Mind you I called 2 times previously and gave them my new address. This morning my account is negative 206.86, DirecTV took out. I'm like WTF. I call and guess what, they NEVER UPDATED MY ADDRESS. So I call. "DirecTV rep. made the mistake not me, please refund my money." (That's part rent money.) They flat out refused.
I begged and pleaded asked to speak to a supervisor they said "Supervisor is going into a meeting. She will call you back within the hour. Ok. Thanks, bye." All day I waited for a call back NO ONE CALLED BACK. So I called again, same thing. I explained again "the rep. made the mistake not me." They refused. I called back again and this time I was put on hold for 32 minutes. By now I am mad I feel like they are playing games with MY RENT MONEY. Finally a supervisor gets on the line and again refused my refund. So I called corporate. They refused as well. DIRECTV LEGALLY RIPPED ME OFF. Now I asked who will pay my $75 late fee for not having all my rent money because they screwed up. She said oh we don't pay late fees. They refuse to refund my money and lied and said "as soon as we get the equipment back we'll refund your money in 48-72 hours." I am DISGUSTED.

Have not been in my Nevada condo for over one year. It has been re-rented to another person for months. I did not have a bill with DirecTV and owed nothing. Suddenly after the AT&T take over, they call like a debt collector [from inside DTV]. I tell them the above and that I owe nothing and have been out of my unit for over a year, and have not even seen a bill from DTV. After a nice man talks to me, and he talks to a supervisor, all gets resolved and DTV does NOT have any claim on any money owing and tells me my account is canceled out. They will take it up with the new resident. All fine.
Then the computer calls keep coming every 2 days to me from DTV, asking for money. Call DTV again 4 times, and they transfer me back and forth to "units" or "departments". Finally, they say they need to set up an "appointment" for someone from DTV to call me. In short, they cannot handle a simple call on a simple matter with the support of their super computer. Very Sad. Very Bad. I can say that in 50 years, I have NEVER had a vendor tell me that I had to make an appointment for THEM to call ME when they are screwed up. Do not use DirecTV. They are not fast and well organized. I have searched for the corp. info on them, and will sue in a week to shut off calls etc., and for judgment that my account is clear. I have never sued a vendor of services to me in my life, 70 years. But they raise dander enough to get it done.

On many occasions I have had to call into DirecTV technical service to provide myself with some kind of viewing experience. The experience has constantly been the picture freezing. When reported they are aware of the problem. There is little to be done and I am expected to give them a little more time to solve the problem. They can't fix it. They have no solution but I am to continue paying and experiencing the problem too. They can figure it out. I was told many customers with the boxes older than two years ago will be experiencing the problem until they complete their research on how to fix it. As a good standing customer for years why can't I have a better viewing experience? No solution is offered but to wait but keep the account current.

I had the service year ago and they offer low price but only 1st month. 2nd month added on other hidden fee added on the bill. Their ad $19.99/month but the actual bill I have been paying is $42.55/month and after one year it is now about $65/month. It doesn't feel right to pay that high for a poor program mostly basic channels and it is absolutely not worth to pay the money for what I had. Customer service answered by people in other country and difficult to understand their english. Bound by 2 year term contract is crazy. Just switch to Comcast xfinity internet and tv for just $79.99/month.

My mother has had Directv since the MID 90's. Every now and then she would have issues that where usually resolved rather quickly. In December 2015, she was having issues with her much older dvr's and was told they needed to be replaced. She had the protection plan and was required to sign a new 2 year contract since hers had expired. She did it in order to get the new boxes because she loved the service. Since day one with the new boxes, she has had nothing but issue: can't read the letters because of square blocks, can't rewind a live program without them freezing, unable to view recordings, unable to connect to internet, no signal at all, and more. Now Directv has sent multiple techs out to replace the boxes, dish, and lines but nothing seems to work. It's been almost a month and it seems to be getting worse. Is this what she is to expect over the next two years?

They are great when you are signing up for service. After that, terrible customer relations. Every time I called, I was sent in circles, until I made noises about cancelling my service. My bill would randomly skyrocket, and no one knew why. And when we were moving, they wanted to charge a crazy amount, to move 10 feet, to next door! -- when I complained, and said I would rather cancel, they somehow dropped all charges, and my move was free. Then they shut my service off on Christmas, said I owed one amount, until a week later, I finally gave them the boot. Now they said I owed, the termination fee (expected), plus the first amount they told me and NOW I am being told I owe even more, because I missed a payment -- when I have proof I paid it! WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM.

The DVR of one of my TVs failed (defective hard drive). I called DirecTV and they told me that they would replace it at no cost to me. After a week the DVR was replaced, but my DirecTV bill went up because the new Drive has a Home feature that enables to access recordings from the same DVR across multiple tvs. I still have 2 DVRs and 2 tvs. I did not ask for the Home feature. I was told that my DVR would be replaced or fixed at no cost to me.
The Home feature is a nuisance because now listings for the same recordings appear twice in the recording list. I called DirecTV, after 1 hour and 20 minutes at the phone I gave up. Customer service is horrible. You are put on forever wait for a supervisor. If they do not fix this illegal charge problem, I will look into dropping DirecTV. Netflix is enough and does not break.

Your reps do not listen to customers, very disappointed, canceled 3 times, did not hear me. Truck comes to my house and stays for 25 minutes. I was not home, neighbor told me. Called me Sunday morn at 8:00 am about appt. It was like a nightmare!

The Tech would not place the dish on the house, so we had to get another tech that would mount the dish on the house.
