    First install date, the installer did not have the correct equipment with him. Then after I called support, I found out I wasn't being set up for what I asked for. I said what services I had and wanted the same but in a DirecTV system and this did not happen. Had to reschedule.

    I called to get message 771 fix but we could fix it! Today is Thursday and service rep can't come to service dish till Tuesday!! Which means no TV till then!! I'm upset this Sunday is the Super Bowl and no TV! I'm most likely going to cancel service! Not happy at all.

    I had AT&T Uverse and was happy with it. DTV now AT&T scheduled install 2/3/16, came early 2/2/16. Unit failed 2/3/16, can't get repair from DTV till 2/9/16. Super Bowl on 2/7/16. I told them I don't want the service. DTV wants to charge a cancellation fee.

    My whole experience with DIRECTV was very good - Grace was good to help me negotiate the service and monthly fee to my satisfaction. Very impressed with the tech to install. Because of the location of my apartment and the trees around, too much distance would be between my dish/signal to my apartment.     I signed a contract with DirecTV in January for a guaranteed amount (promotional). In February my bill went up $11.00. I contacted the company to try and get this resolved, but basically they said, "too bad that's the way it is". I directed them to their statement on their website that my monthly charge would not increase for the contract year. However, it made no difference to them. I asked if I could cancel, since I was only in the second month. They said "yes" if I paid $400.00. Their representatives were dishonest and management (corporate) are even worse. All I asked is that they honor their commitment, but that is too much to ask of them. I tried every way to contact them, including a chat, but the remarks/answers were the same. It's as if they were reading from a script. Thanks for your help.

    Asked to get service changed to basic, absolutely effortless. Spoke with Lenna - Very friendly and knowledgeable about services available. Also helped to get info on internet available in my area. One question, if I can get satellite tv from DirecTV, why can't you give me internet in a bundle deal? Just letting you know, the instant any kind of bundle deal is available I will drop this service and never speak well of you again. I am FURIOUS that I am treated like a second class citizen only because I live in the outlying areas. Kindly explain why you cannot provide both internet and tv at the save time when both are satellite only. Is it a Net Mafia kinda thing? I have the distinct feeling something very shady is going on.

    Every time I call customer service I am put on hold for over 30 min. then on the phone for another 30 min trying to explain and get some help. I always seem to get someone new that can't understand the problem. Lately I have not been able to access on demand and one show that I did get stopped in the middle and was not available to continue to watch. When I called customer service I was on hold for 40 min then finally reached someone only to find out it was billing and they could not help. I called back and same thing - 45 min wait then it was billing again. Never was able to reach a tech and on demand still not working. Customer Services is Terrible.

    For the past three days I have limited channels with an error code of 771 on all the rest. I contacted DirecTV via home phone last night and was on hold for more than 15 minutes and finally hung up. I called back tonight and spoke with both an agent and a supervisor and STILL nothing has been resolved. They could not reboot the system remotely and now need to send a technician out to my house to troubleshoot the system at the tune of $49.95 because we did not purchase their protection plan. Customer "no" service also informed me that since I was never officially added to the account I cannot set up the service call appointment to get the satellite to work again! So here I sit with no cable... Funny the entire time I was with Charter my cable never went out.... Guess what family will be switching cable providers in 22 months?

    In my 30+ years of customer service I have never experienced such horrible customer care! The best part of the call was, "Is there anything else I can help you with tonight?" I was on the phone for over 45 minutes listening to what they could not do for me! DirecTV; word of mouth is a powerful tool. I will recommend your "no" service to no one. Disgruntled spouse of "authorized user".

    I setup service online Feb 1 2016. Scheduled installation was Feb 3 2016 so I logged on the morning of scheduled installation and my order was cancelled so I called and the customer service department said due to my name linked to a address with a bad account they can't give me service. The bad account was a old roommate and I haven't been at that address for over a year so they transferred me to verification department where they was very rude and saying if my old roommate doesn't pay his account in full I cannot get service with them... How is this fair to me? My name was not on his account. He was just a roommate so I get punished for his actions. I hope everyone will avoid this company.

    Let me begin by saying reason for rating does NOT reflect Installer performance which I rate 5 star - he was top notch. Also initial customer service call on Friday was 5 star. Overall rating is due to work order error with GenieGo and extreme difficulty getting DirecTV customer service agents to correct work order error & then subsequent billing error.

    1st customer service call was great with exception of 1 error and that was the installer has pole for dish which he did not. Installer was the best to work with & went above & beyond spending much time on phone to get work order error corrected - his performance was excellent. Again my frustration is internal with customer service agents on Saturday transferring calls & not resolving error until about 1.5 hours later finally getting someone on phone to fix the mistake.

    After being a loyal customer for 6 years I called to cancel my service since I was moving to an apartment where DirecTV was not an option. I was planning to come back to DirecTV within the year as soon as I found house to buy. It was the most difficult customer service I've ever dealt with. They wanted to charge me $300 for breaking contract early. They said they needed to put in work order and see for themselves that DirecTV was not an option at the apt. I said "Fine come on." Guy came out there, saw for himself and said "No problem. We will cancel."

    A month later I was drafted my usual payment. Called them back. This is about 5th call. They said "Yes it was supposed to be cancelled but it wasn't and we can't backdate so we will cancel today and charge you $300 early termination fee." And so it began again. Now they told me different info, said I have a choice where I move and I should have found an apartment where DirecTV was an option. Before this experience I had no problems with DirecTV, have paid probably close to $10k over the years and was fully intending to resume service once I bought house. The reps were rude, condescending, unprofessional, and unfriendly. I will not ever use DirecTV again and I've advised my friends and family the same.

    I spoke to a lot of people and everyone of them was nice. I am on a fixed income and was afraid they would try to get money and I would not have enough in there and the bank would charge me for an nsf fee. They let me know that they would let me know.     Made a mistake of switching to DirecTV, in order to save a little money, a little over a year ago. Had to pay extra for sports package. Now every time it snows or rains very hard, I lose the signal. Just called customer service and after dealing with their automated system and being put on hold, I was told that there is nothing they can do and I just have to wait for the snow to melt. This is Colorado in February! We get snow! Their installer attached the dish to the house where it can't be reached without climbing up on the roof. As soon as my contract is up, I'm switching back to cable.

    I've been with DIRECTV since 1997 and of course in the past we had to cancel 1 time due to hardship, relocated to 2 different states & got new accounts each time, etc. But, nothing like this time... My husband got really sick (3 surgeries since Nov '15) & we had to cancel our service. Because we were still on a contract for 5 more months with the new equipment, they still charged us the $100.00 early cancellation fee. I understand business is business but, this definitely shows we, the consumers don't mean anything and they, employees at DIRECTV & OWNERS don't have any type of sympathy. My advice is: Don't store your CREDIT CARD with them & don't think you are SPECIAL just because you've been with them for a long time.

    I spent over 15 hours from September Thru January dealing with the issue and being told two different things by the same company. After fixing the issue I was told that I would be given a credit for $120 for loss of service and issues related to the box issues... I did not feel this was acceptable with the amount of time I spent on this issue both on the phone and chat. After consulting my fiance we decided just to take the credit after years of great service from the company. I called back to the company to be told that they are not allowed to offer a credit of that much and basically that it was my fault for not accepting it then. I am disgusted with the carelessness for long term clients. I have never had any issues with any companies until this and I have never written a review before today. Can't wait for my contract to run out!!!

    What a bait and switch and poor customer service training with this company. I went to cancel DTV and they gave me some good deals to stay. I was told I would get a 200 dollar gift card but after chasing around and speaking to several reps I get a different story from every rep. I then got a customer survey and was given a pin number to call them back and of course pin does not work and I am stuck right where I began. This used to be a good company but when they made the mistake to merge with AT&T that was the end. I rate this customer service an F. I will be looking to switch asap.

    I recently purchased a condo and up to this point I never had a chance to get DirecTV because of the line of sight, so I was excited to finally get the opportunity. I ordered service a couple days before I moved in. The sales agent via the 1-800 number was very polite and talked me into television and internet even though I wanted to keep my current provider for internet. I signed up for a 2 year contract. I was getting the Xtra pkg which included 220 channels, all the movie channels free for 3 months, the nfl ticket, and a free genie wireless receiver. After 12 months the pricing was going to jump to regular price but the sales agent assured me I would still be paying less than what I'm paying at the moment with my current provider. (I found out later through the AT&T rep that my price with Directv would of been more than the $150 I was currently paying).

    Installation was set for 1st available which was 5 days after I moved in and about a week after I initially called. Today was installation. The techs arrived on time and were polite. Everything from here on goes straight downhill. Apparently they had a work order for 1 HD DVR receiver and 1 standard receiver. I told the techs that I was suppose to get a genie wireless receiver. They said it was probably a ordering mistake, it happens all the time since they combined with AT&T, but I would have to talk to Directv and fix the issue and reschedule installation. Still not the end of the world but I'm starting to get frustrated. I call Directv and speak with customer service and tell them the problem. Once again the rep was being polite and explained the problem. Apparently my credit check wasn't the best and I would have to pay a additional 1 time fee of $200 to get the genie upgrade.

    I told her that the sales rep said everything was fine with my credit check and I was getting everything offered for no additional fees (I found out later, once again via AT&T rep, not the Directv rep that I had a medium credit score). The rep apologized for the confusion but there wasn't anything that she could do. I asked to speak with a manager and she complied. Supervisor Joseph (badge number **) got on the phone and I explained my situation and he too said there was nothing they could do. This is after the sales rep said nothing about the credit check and I waited almost a week for installation. All I got was an apology and there is nothing we can do. I asked the supervisor straight up if they were ok with throwing a 2 year contract and my business down the drain over $200 and he responded with "I do apologize sir, but corporate sets the policy on prices and there is nothing I can do".

    So I cancelled DirecTV and everything that goes with it. I was extremely crushed.     I'M SO DISAPPOINTED IN DIRECTV. I've been with them for almost 3 years. The first year I had no problem. Ever since that first year ended, no month has been the same charge. They always charge me more. And I always have to sit on the damn phone for 30+ min to even try and get it back to normal. I'm so sick of them. And when I moved (and moving cost a lot as is) they charged me $300 dollars to literally plug it in. There was already a satellite on the house so I paid $300 for someone to sit in my AC plug in my DirecTV and was here for 10 min. It was absolutely ridiculous.

    Every month I hate this company even more. All of my family members have been with them forever and they're all about to cancel their services as well. It's ridiculous how they're charging me over $100 for one DVR box and one regular box. And sometimes it's $150 just because I'm like really. That's more than my electric bill. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

    Unable to make any progress with adjustment on my bill. They have not honored their price guarantee after one chat attempt and 3 phone calls. Signed up in Sept. 2015 and their "Price Guarantee Credit Explanation: Because you are a new customer with a one-year price guarantee, we are honoring the original price of your base package for the remainder of your first year of service. This credit keeps your price at its original amount until the date shown. If you change your base package, your price guarantee may no longer apply."

    However, I have not made any changes aside from requesting removal of introductory packages (Premium TV and Sports). They have added a Regional Sports fee which I did not ask for but was part of my intro package ending after SuperBowl 50, according to the install tech. That is not until NEXT WEEK but they have chosen to charge me that anyway. Reps on the phone only give lip service, saying they understand my frustration but nothing they can do about it. Then they try to discuss REMOVING some services. When I ask for call escalation to a supervisor, I am either left on hold indefinitely or another run-around. I am regretting ever signing up for this.

    Updated on 2/10/2016: I STILL cannot get them to remove NFL Sunday Ticket. And my bill continues to rise. All I get is lip service and they also ask me to "look at a different package." They say they will take care of my bill but they do not. This is garbage and I am tired of not getting anywhere with these clowns!

    When I signed a two year contract with DirecTV I was given a monthly price I thought was comparable to other companies. I specifically asked the representative if the price was for the whole two-year contract. She hesitated, then said "Yes, it is." I should have been alerted by that hesitation because a year later I had $30 more a month tacked onto my bill and was told the initial price was an "introductory" price. Yes, I signed the contract when they installed and I admit, I didn't read the fine print. I had no idea that the contract I was signing was different than what I had been offered over the phone.

    After talking with three people at DirecTV, with much apologizing that I was mislead, I was offered $20 off for the rest of the contract. What I find disturbing is the deceptive practice by the original representative. I asked if reps got commission and was told yes. A company is only as good as their worst employee and if a company doesn't employee people with integrity and will not make a customer whole when they have been deceived, then I want nothing to do with them. I am a loyal customer and will often pay more to companies who provide excellent customer. I am held hostage by DirecTV for another year, but after that, I will never use them again even if they offer the cheapest service in the world.

    August of 2015 I got Directv cable and AT&T Uverse internet. I checked my account on Directv every month to make sure my payment was going through. It always said $0.00 due. This is when I assumed my automatic draft was working. I never checked my bank account because it showed on my Directv account as $0.00. One day my services were disconnected so I called right away to find out what the issue was. The customer service rep said that I had never made a payment for my services and if I wanted my cable and internet turned back on I had to pay the full $460.

    I explained that I couldn't pay the whole amount, only partial and the rest of the amount in 5 days. The rep got very rude and told me to put it on a credit card. I didn't want to charge my credit card and I didn't have enough available on my card to charge the full amount. She then explained my only other option was to close the account and they could send me a bill for the account. I was extremely upset and told her to do it. Those two options are the only options she gave me. 2 1/2 months later Directv charged me an early disconnect fee and took it out of my credit card for $315. What I'm upset about is that they are telling me they will not refund me the early disconnect fee because they "sent" me letters after I disconnected saying I could reconnect as long as I pay the balance. So I'm responsible even though they are the ones who told me to pay or disconnect.

    I would have gladly made payments but no one would accept them. Two days now I have spent a total of 6 hours calling AT&T and Directv, being transferred back and forth, explaining my situation over and over again, being hung up on and not called back, being told there was no money taken out of my account (Directv is AT&T so they would have told AT&T if they did take money).

    I'm experiencing high levels of stress now because they are now saying that I owe AT&T another $430 on top of the $315 that was already taken from my account. This has now gone to collection who keeps calling several times a day. So now they have ruined my credit. I do not recommend Directv or AT&T for that matter. Ever since they merged I've had problems I never would had dreamed of from Directv.

    I have been a customer since 2013. In the last year, my bill has fluctuated due to expiring discounts. I have to call every months, sit through the prompts and since they have been under the AT&T umbrella, they are difficult to work with. I have been working with them over the last few months to see if they can help bring my bill down, to no avail.

    I recently decided to cut the cord, and go completely streaming. I called to have my service cancelled. They let me know that they bill in advance and that my shut off date is two weeks into the billing cycle, so they will prorate that bill. I find out today that they charge the complete bill with no prorate. The CSR told me that once my service is cut off tomorrow, they will refund the amount, of course 7 to 10 business days. Oh also, since I've closed my account, they are now offering me everything I've asked for in the last few months, just so I would stay with them. They have become horrible with AT&T.

    Been with DirecTV for about 10 years and loved their service, but I noticed they were getting a little expensive. And when it came time to move into my new house, I decided on a new service provider for a while. I needed boxes mailed to me from the company to my new address in order to send them back their equipment. Weeks past and no boxes, when I called they said it had been sent to the wrong address. Come to find out I had already incurred a late return charge for something not even my fault.

    They also were extremely persistent in trying to get me to stay with the company. Would not take NO for an answer. Well after talking to a manager AND many heated arguments, I believe I only end up paying like 19 dollars and the boxes arrived; and I sent back their equipment. I got a 0 balance receipt in the mail and was finally done. Two months later I get another bill in the mail saying I now owe 18 dollars and some change. The Customer service rep told me that one of the remotes I returned had data stored in it showing I did not pay for three movies and if I did not pay now, they are going to use my old credit card they had on file to pay it. They said it was in the contract. What in the world??? This company has really sunk from the top to the bottom. Why can't you just LEAVE ME ALONE? I don't owe you anything. You overcharged me for many movies I did not even watch. That one of the reasons you're history!!!

    I called DirecTV to get service. My son had moved out of my house and went with DirecTV for his service. Apparently, DirecTV used my credit information to establish his account. He did not give them any of my information. They pulled my address and pulled my information. I have spoken with Troy in the fraud department ext **. He was totally disrespectful. He knew the situation and took no action. I called back to speak with someone else. Was transferred back to Troy. He took it upon himself to cancel my son's account. Even though my son had paid DirecTV for his services. He knew the situation was a problem and was not fraud. But he was so disrespectful he did this apparently trying to be vindictive to me!

    So my son arrived at his home and had no service because of Troy. DirecTV's response was I need to file a police report for the fraud. I sent DirecTV an email back and asked who should I list as the fraudulent person. It was not my son, but DirecTV's problem. Troy tried to blame Equifax for the problem. I called Equifax and they confirmed that DirecTV did not read the report correctly. So DirecTV pulled my credit and did nothing to rectify the problem but to cut my son's service off. I have sent letters to DirecTV, to the state attorney general's office, and the president of DirecTV Michael White. Guess what, no one has responded to the letter I sent from DirecTV!!! I have never had service with DirecTV so now I am having to go through the credit bureau to dispute their inquiry!!! And yes it does affect your credit score!!! The calls I made to DirecTV spanned over a week. 2 of the calls lasted 1 1/2 hours!

    I was told by an AT&T rep when they sold me the package, that I would have On Demand with my box. I told her what my budget was and what I wanted. She stated that I couldn't get the DVR but I can still have access to On Demand. That was fine, my dad can still catch up on some of his shows with On Demand. So, the day they come to install it. The two guy came, didn't listen to my father when he told them where the outlet was for the TV. They ran a messy wire from one end of our house, in the yard to an outlet my dad requested they don't use. Then they dragged the cord from the outlet across the room to the TV, didn't staple it down or anything. The outlet my father showed them is right behind the tv.

    When they finished they just came upstairs and said, "We are finished. Have a good day" and walked out. While walking out one guy said to the other "You not going to give her a pamphlet?" So he comes back and say, "Here, this will tell you all about how to use DIRECTV," and to give them 10s on the survey. I go to check the On Demand and it's not there. I saw something that said I had to connect it to the Internet to get On Demand. I couldn't get it to connect to our Internet. So, I called DIRECTV customer service. She said, "The box you have doesn't come with On Demand." I told her, "That's not what the lady told me." I spent 2 hours on the phone with this AT&T rep only to be mislead.

    I asked to speak to a manager. Spoke with the manager, explained the issue, and she said, "The box you have doesn't come with On Demand. So you can either keep it or upgrade it for 15 more dollars a month." I explain that this was not my fault, I didn't misorder something. I specifically told that AT&T lady what I wanted and she said I was getting for the price she quoted me. The manager said, "You can deal with it or pay 15 extra a month, it's your choice." So I canceled the service that same day.

    The customer service experience has been just horrible. I wouldn't recommend DIRECTV to anyone. Even when I called in to complain about what happen I got transferred like 4 times. To get a lady trying to sell me something yet again, while I keep saying I just want to speak to a manager. This went on for a little over and hour. All to be transferred to customer relations and be hung up on because the department was closed. So when I called back all departments were closed.

    So at this point I hate DIRECTV customer service. I have family that has DIRECTV and I thought that it was nice and that's why we wanted it. But after this experience I will no longer speak highly of DIRECTV. You need to train the people that don't speak English as their native language how to treat customers and how to speak English. Outsourcing may be cheaper but is it really worth losing customers. The agents I spoke with American and non American were the worst representation of your company.

    After 20 years as a Directv customer, I am trying to get out of my "contract" because I have been lied to and treated about as badly as a customer can be treated. In 40 minutes, I was hung-up on twice, called back a third time, was on hold for close to 15 minutes and then treated in the most condescending manner by the supposed customer service manager who, it turned out, was not a manager at all (since no managers were available). All over $35.00. Yes, Directv would prefer to lose a customer of 20 years rather than correct a $35.00 mistake/error/lie on their part. That should tell everyone how Directv, now that they are AT&T, plans to treat their loyal customers.

    Was waiting for tech to show up for install. Got call from automated system that the tech would show up. Shortly the system call and said the tech was running late and then called again with a different time frame, 4:20pm-4:50pm. Tech never called, never showed up. I called the 800 number and was told by automated system that my appt. was for Monday, Feb. 1 from 8 to 12. I had to rescheduled cause nobody would be home at that time. Did call CS to report that appt and CS did give me a $50 credit for all the trouble that I have gone through.     I have never taken the time to complain about a company before, but I am beyond frustrated, disgusted, and unimpressed with Directv. I truly hope someone reads this from Directv and starts making some serious changes in this company. My service was originally supposed to be installed Jan 16th. Day of, two installers arrive within the allotted window. I thought 2 installers to be overkill but turns out the actual installer didn't speak a word of English so the second guy was there basically to translate. (??!)

    They poked around and came to conclusion that I would have to pay an additional $100 for a wireless box or $60 for them to drop a line from my attic because my cable jacks weren't right... Even though every other cable I've had (including Dish) has not had an issue. I expressed that the installation was to be covered and I believe I had already paid for all the equipment when I first set up service. The guy then told me they would do the attic install if I paid them $40 cash, off the books. Excuse me?! Nope! So I told them politely to leave and rescheduled the install.

    I called customer service and spent an hour of my time placing a detailed complaint. I also asked if the up-charges were even real and she read me the fine print which basically said the only way I should've been charged extra was if they needed longer cable ($1.50ish per 20ft) or if they would need to go through concrete. She confirmed that the wireless receiver was already included in my package. Basically, these guys were trying to hustle me.

    The customer service reps were horrified and apologized and assured me the local office would be contacting me to further investigate the incident. No such follow up was done in the week preceding my 2nd install appointment. That was supposed to be yesterday, between 8am-12pm. At 11am their office says the rep will be a bit late, "a little after 12". 12:30. 1:00. 1:30. No installer. No phone call. No update whatsoever. I now have to go to work as I had taken off half the day specifically to have this installation. Upset at the waste of my morning, I call customer service to place yet another complaint. In the 30 mins of them placing me on hold to find out what happened, the installer calls at 1:55 to say he's at my house.

    I call DirecTV monthly, my main one is our 24 month $15 charge for dvr instead of $25, $10 off monthly. As of now they have not given me the credit since Sept. They will also give credit then carry it forward to next month... I never trust I am getting a fair bill. Same with movie channels. I have spent LOTS of time on phone or chatting because I am getting charged fully instead of their discount... I am so certain they do this on purpose and have the customer look like a fool because you have to prove to them why you are being overcharged... We have had DirecTV now for about 18 months and I am looking forward to getting rid of them. Just a money pit fighting tooth and nail for what they originally promised you.

    I recently requested to upgrade my 4 receivers to the new technology and the technician was extremely nice, very cordial, stayed with the job until done... He returned a 2nd day and stated "my supervisors sent me back because I was going to ground the wire to cold water. They instructed me to ground the system another way." After he left both my heating/AC units would not come on and I recalled he was grounding wires.

    I called DirecTV 1st thing this morning after a very cold night. A supervisor answers and I tell her a problem may have occurred grounding the system here and both AC were affected, she replies "we do not work on ACs". Really. I say to her "at least send the tech back to check his work." She states she don't know who that was, so I say send someone, another tech. She continued to say "we do not do AC work." She was rude. I asked for a Supervisor she states "I am it." Really, can't solve a simple problem. Your guy was here 2 full days and knocked out my units not intentional but warrants another look at the install.

    October 10, 2015, we spoke with an AT&T phone rep, looking for bundled services. He sold us on an Internet & DirecTV bundle and told us we had a 30-day cancellation, no-cost guarantee. DirecTV was installed the next Wed. The service was not as we were told/expected. That Fri, internet was to be installed. Installer told us the service he was about to install was not as fast as what we were currently using - which was not what we were told. That evening, I called AT&T to cancel, which we were told it would be. A month later, DirecTV took an autopay from my checking for a month of service. Customer service told me it was never cancelled, but they would do so now, and I could dispute with billing who would get back with me (but never did).

    Another month goes by and my bank informs me of a pending transaction from DirecTV for approx. $500. I called my bank to dispute and cancel the transaction. DirecTV customer service informs me that I owe an early termination fee. I argue that is not what our phone salesman told us. DirecTV said they would 'escalate' my inquiry to corporate who would review. A week later I received a form letter saying they determined that I owe the early termination fee. I have obviously been victimized by either an unscrupulous AT&T representative or AT&T (DirecTV) themselves, and AT&T (which owns DirecTV) will not stand by what we were told on the phone. I am sure that DirecTV's computer system can show that we did not use their service past the three days (communication link between DirecTV and the DVR in our home would be recorded).

    When signing up for the promotions, PLEASE be aware of the following year going up in price. First year it's very great and cheap as low as 19.99$. Second year it can go up to over 100+. When disconnecting please be aware of the EXACT AMOUNT OF TAXES and charges you're being charged especially if you disconnect a few days into the billing cycle. Credits were added to my account frequently because of the company charging me for no reason.

    I looked at my final bill to notice that I was being overcharged. I added the final billing disconnection fee and also the sales tax and reimbursement fee and it didn't equal to my final bill. Mind you, I handled the billing cycle before the final bill came so I wasn't being charged for service fees. I called and spoke with two representatives and credit was added. Be careful and be smart when keeping track of your billing. Imagine the thousands of customers who overlook their bills every month? DirecTV is making millions of unnecessary charges. Be smart people!

    I signed up for DirecTV because it seemed to be the most affordable in my area, which was still a lot more than I was comfortable with. Since I signed up in Nov. 2015 my bill has changed EVERY month. I made the mistake of signing up on Autopay, not realizing that I would have to babysit my statements each month, line by line. In July of 2014 movie channels were added to my account, without being requested, and the NFL ticket (which I didn't even know I had) began being charged my bill went from $57 to over $150+. I didn't catch it as soon as I'd like because of autopay, and MYSTERIOUSLY, my DirecTV was bundled with my Verizon bill for Aug. and Sept. I have NO idea why or how that happened.

    Each time I have called DirecTV I was on the phone for over an hour and spoke to at LEAST two representatives each time. One of the representatives assured me that she would open and submit a Dispute on my behalf after I informed her I didn't have access to the internet that night. When I called to check on the status of my dispute, I was informed that NOTHING had been submitted, just notes placed on my account.

    My bill is now over $500. I am so utterly disappointed and infuriated with the way this company does business. I am convinced services are added in hopes that customers do not catch them in time so they can get stuck with charges. DirecTV makes it so difficult to dispute charges and none of the representatives are able to do anything at all. I have been told repeatedly that the charges are valid simply because they are on my statement. That does NOT make a charge valid! I should not be charged for any services I did not ask for. If I had the money, I would pay it just to get away. I feel completely helpless over the amount of money DirecTV chooses to bill me with.

    We had DirecTV at our former residence. After pouring money into C______t, we wanted to try Directv again. We inquired about purchasing an Internet/TV bundle, ran credit check (using my husband's social) and the DirecTV customer service person said we would have to pay a $200.00 fee to have DirecTV connected. She said that the reason for the fee was something pertaining to the credit check. Alarmed, we ran an Experian report only to discover what we already knew... EXCELLENT CREDIT. We asked at the time if it was because it was something to do with DirecTV's credit department and I was assured NO, it was our credit.

    We called AT&T directly to ask about bundling high speed internet with Directv. We got all the way through the process, ran the credit only on MY social security number and she came back and asked, "Did you have DirecTV in the past? Your social is coming up flagged. Could we try under your husband's social?" Oh my gosh. We just only ordered the high speed internet - NO TV. But this feels unjust!

    We left Directv because of our move and we heard that everyone at the complex had C_____t. We paid all the fines Directv imposed for ending our contract early. (We have excellent credit!) We work hard to maintain this. So why are WE being penalized? What is the $200 for REALLY? DirecTV, I am disappointed with your process.

    Started with DirecTV 4 days ago. Had to call approximately 10 times so far. First problem I had was them using Comcast's cable to install their service causing me to have to schedule with Comcast to get a new cable ran. Second problem was a bill coming that was way over what I was originally quoted. Third problem was the package and channels I asked for were not being provided to me. Fourth problem was them bringing the wrong receiver. Fifth problem was the shows not showing up in the search. Sixth problem was no one showing up for scheduled appointment.

    Called in, was told someone would call me within 10 minutes. An hour and a half later I called back since I still hadn't heard anything. Told me someone would call me within 3 hours. No one ever called or showed up. Called again. They told me they couldn't tell me when my technician was coming so I asked to reschedule for the next day and they said "No". Asked for supervisor who finally got me an appointment. Received a call the next morning confirming my appointment. Appointment time came and went. No call/no show. Called in again and then told me they could reschedule me for 4 days from then. Supervisor says I should receive a call within an hour. Any guess on how this will go?
