I've always been an AT&T customer and never had any issues with my service. Once they merged with DirecTV, they offered me an awesome package that allowed me to switch my U-Verse TV to DirecTV at a really good price. The first install didn't get done because the DirecTV dispatch sent the technician to the wrong address. When I called and told them they were at my old address, they made me reschedule and would not send a technician out the same day. The second time (this morning) the technician left without a word.
I called the customer service number to find out what happened and found out he left because I have pet snakes. Now I understand most people are afraid of snakes and I could see where he might feel uncomfortable. However, they are all in tanks and are very well contained. Had he just said he didn't feel comfortable, I would have moved them - no problem. Instead, he left and told his dispatch the conditions in my house were unacceptable and he didn't feel "safe". Now, again, I can understand some people not liking snakes and I have no problem with that fact. But the U-Verse internet technician came to my house earlier this week and although he didn't like snakes either, he told me he was afraid of them. We addressed his concerns. He completed the install, and all was right with the world.
Furthermore, when I called the DirecTV dispatch they shuffled me around to five different people before I demanded to speak with a manager. After putting me on hold for 5 minutes, the manager told me she would send a communication to the dispatch manager in my area and there was no guarantee they would get back to me today. Because of my work schedule, Saturday is the only day I have off - I can't be here during the week to wait for another technician to come out. Thoroughly frustrated, I called AT&T customer service back and to make up for the discourtesy and inconvenience, they are giving me U-Verse back at no charge. People may say DirecTV service is better than U-Verse, but the customer service is severely lacking. I would rather pay a few more dollars and be treated like a human being when I call than to have awesome TV and be treated like crap all because my hobbies are outside of the "norm".

My late husband and I had been with DirecTV since 2005. We wanted reception when it snowed in the woods of Maine. We did not get that with Dish so we changed companies! We were happy with our decision. In 2013 my husband died unexpectedly and the account became mine. They still considered me a customer since 2005. In 2014 I made a decision I could no longer remain in the cabin in the woods, at age 67 I could no longer survive in the woods alone, so I moved.
My landlord said I could not bring Direct with me. He did not allow a dish on the home I was renting, so I canceled my contract with them. That was easier enough, but the I received my final bill $302 and change. WOW. I called their customer service, explained the circumstances and was given $100 off the bill. I was happy but asked if I spoke to billing would they do more since I was not stopping service because I was dissatisfied with DirecTV. She said I could but it would do no good. She was honest and very kind. Her name was Bridgett!! Spoke fluent English that was a plus also.
When I went to pay my bill by phone which I had done since forever, I was transferred to customer service, got the BS about taking the service with me. Told her I couldn't and why, that did not matter!! She continued! I finally was able to stop her and say I just want to pay my bill of $196.55, FINALLY she okayed that, saying I would get this amount back if I came back to Direct. Again I told her it was not ok with my landlord. So DirecTV has nearly $200 of my money. A woman on SS, too HAD to make changes in her life to survive what time I had left in life. Enjoy my money DirecTV. Buy fuel with it for your CEO's plane. DirecTV is great as long as you play by their rules and don't make changes in your life. I wonder if they would have charged my estate if I had died before my contract expired???

I contacted your customer service and the person on the other line impressed me. She knew her job and you could hear it in her voice. She tried to get me not cancel but my husband did not want a satellite. I wanted to change to save money.

Before AT&T took over I never had one problem. Now I have problems. Got on my PC to go on my DIRECTV account to add "HBO" channels and it was impossible. So I called DirecTV and got passed over to AT&T, back to DirecTV then back to AT&T. The only problem I got solved was to add HBO, but not the problem with my user ID and password to log onto the DirecTV site. They won't even recognize the DirecTV account number. The "technical support" with AT&T suggested that I just create a new account. Tried that and that is when I found out my DirecTV account number is not recognized either along with user ID and password. I have spent several hours on this problem and I am sick of it. Knew the minute I heard AT&T took over DirecTV that they would make a hash job of it.

Only disappointment is that out of 145 channels, only maybe 10-15 we would watch. One of my favorite channels I thought we would be getting "Nat Geo Wild" is not part of the package.

Although they could not officially set up my dish due to no line of site to satellite, the techs in the field and the reps over the phone were great to work with. DirecTV refunded me the setup fee right away. I wish I could have DirecTV!!! And they do have a 2-year locked in rate!

Directv charged my checking account $924 without my knowledge. 4 customer service representatives later (last from corporate) I was able to figure out why. I moved because I had to downsize due to financial situation therefore I suspended my services with Directv until I was able to figure out my financials at the new house. I reconnected a few months later. However, they opened a separate account instead of reactivating the first one therefore I had two contracts! After the suspension was over at the first residence (6 months later) and when they were unable to collect 2 months of services they turned it into a termination and charged me disconnection charges of $924! Without my knowledge or given me the opportunity to rectify the situation.
I didn't get any phone call and apparently wasn't receiving mail (maybe due to change of address). In addition, Corporate office did not offer any help with the charges after learning the error. In retrospect, even though I was no longer at old address, I would've had to pay for 2 services, one of which I wasn't using due to move had it not been terminated? I wonder! I wasn't intentionally not paying, I just didn't know about the error.
This is the worst experience I've had with a cable company and will never sign up for a direct pay with any company, thanks to this! I am a single mother and now in a financial bind. I have placed a dispute with my bank and I am hoping a better resolution can be made and fast! Thanks Directv for taking all the money I had in my account and placing me and my family in a bad financial position!

I have been a DirecTv customer for years. In the last year, my bill has changed amounts every single time. When I started my contract, it was $41. The last bill was $84. I called a few months ago and spoke to someone who wasn't a native English speaker. They assured me that I would go back to what I was charged before, which was $41. The next month, it was $41. The month after that? $95. A few months later, when I had finally had enough, I called to cancel services. Guess what? $400 early termination fee! When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was placed on hold for 45 minutes.
When I was finally connected, I shared my complaint with the woman, who responded by raising her voice at me. Now, I was completely shocked. I asked to speak to her manager. She was "out of the office" and I needed to "get over it." This was obviously horrific customer service. I googled the main office's number and proceeded to call them. They, in turn, gave me the runaround and said they would, in no uncertain circumstances, not waive the ETF. Moral of the story: GO CABLE FREE. Unfortunately, this kind of treatment is not unique to DirecTv... I've had issues that are much worse with Time Warner Cable, if you can believe it.

The original contact with your sales representative was less than satisfactory. I was given false information with regard to local channel availability. I was told more than once that channels 3, 6, & 10 from Phila, PA would definitely be part of my channel package - it was not. Sales rep also talked too fast to be understood on several points. Upon noting that to her she did attempt to slow down. Your installer, Silvano ** was GREAT. He made my day much better in spite of the original misrepresentation. The setup and reception are first class and I am highly satisfied with that.

Do not get locked into this contract at all... They charge way more than COMCAST and Dish Network. This company wheels you in with reward card the min. $200.00 and tell you to refer friends to get $75.00-$100.00 in referral gift cards for every person you refer and $10.00 discount on your monthly bill. You will have to refer 1 person a month to get a good deal. Other than that you get charged all the way up to the Milky Way galaxy with monthly fees.
For example my bill is suppose to be $30.00 for AT&T internet and 19.99 DirecTV Package, not to mention I was discounted on all fees for installation from both parties. My bill jumped to 96.00 a month because of my tax, program fees, and all 3 of my receivers that have a charge every single month. So the total of my bill both parties is 126.00 month plus my taxes. I was billed 145.00 after taxes.
This place is horrible. I could have stayed with Comcast. My bill with DVR, INTERNET, TAX, AND 4 RECEIVERS, AND MOVIE STATIONS with Oxygen was 124.00 after tax. Please do not uses this company for cable. Don't get locked in their 2-year contract. You will regret it... or get an attorney to get you out of it. Matter of fact buy their stocks because this company is a rip off for consumers, but a "Gold Mine" for investors. PS: I am an dissatisfied new customer as of March 7, 2016.

They give you a fair price for a year and then after the year you are told to call back for more discounts since your bill doubles. They want me to pay $60 before taxes for the basic programming I had which I was paying around $29 for. I asked if they had military discounts to lower it the bill, and they were like, "The military discount is only $5 dollars, and that would still put your bill higher than it is." They come up with all this excuses, and the representatives and managers clearly don't care about losing customers or keeping a customer happy. If I could give 0 stars I would. Never again, with this piece of garbage company.

I was told 2 times by DirecTV after and before the install today that the bill would be $75 when AT&T told us $54 with unlimited data on our phones. I was in the store telling AT&T what was going on and also called them that morning to tell there was a quote issue. After going into the store and making several phone calls AT&T - who bought out DirecTV told us our bill will be fixed tomorrow and the bill will be $54 and DirecTV has their facts wrong and there is "massive confusion" between Directv and AT&T with their combo plan. Problem better be resolved tomorrow because we still don't have a straight answer. AT&T also told us they have taken off the "sports fee" for people in the choice package and 1 associate just did it last week. DirecTV told us that fee definitely couldn't be removed. Get your crap together!

I went online on 4/26/2016 and paid the full amount I owed according to my bill. TOTAL AMOUNT DUE $245.40. I paid online using a credit card and when I completed my transaction a blue box appeared saying that my balance was now $.75??? And that if I did not pay the amount by 5/16/2016 there would be late fees. The problem is that my next bill will not be generated until 5/17/2016. So in an attempt to avoid late fees I tried to pay the .75 using a credit card. It would not allow me to charge only .75 stating that I had to pay a minimum of $1. So I tried again paying an amount of $2.
The blue box appeared again stating now that I owed $2.24??? And that if I did not pay the amount by 5/16/2016 I would be charged late fees. I tried to pay again and this time it said I had exceeded the amount of times I could pay in a 24 hour period. My concern is that they have tagged on a charge, after I paid my bill in full, and if I don't pay the "charge" by 5/16/2016 they will tag on late fees. All of this will happen before I'm even billed for it on my next bill that will not be generated until 5/17/2016.

DIRECTV will not release customers for two years from the last day of contract service. Ordinarily, it's probably not a big deal unless... Remodeled my home and wired specifically for DIRECTV. Dish placement is beside of chimney out of view of neighbors and me. But DIRECTV refuses to install the dish because the new roof is metal. A private contractor for DIRECTV is willing to install and maintain dish. DTV will let him install on my metal roof. But they want the contract. In other words, they won't install on my roof but they want me to be contractually obligated to them and pay them their customary monthly fees for television service and maintenance. But they wouldn't fulfill their end of the contract if there's a problem with the satellite dish on the roof because it's off limits.
Their solution is to install the dish on my deck, the only yard that I have. Not acceptable. I've spent a lot of time and money prepping the house for the most advantageous dish placement. My solution is for them to release me immediately so that I can have a private contractor install and maintain the dish on the roof. I would still be a DIRECTV customer. Four customer service conversations later and refusal by a supervisor to speak with me directly, I'm contacting Verizon for television service. Unbelievable.

Only issue -- my name was spelled Donna not Dawna, but I did not let either of them know of the correction because I didn't see it. I thought it would just go by the regular account name on our U-verse.

Directv is the biggest ripoff! I was with them for years and when you upgrade they will sign you up for another 2 years without you knowing it. They also charge you more than you owe. I also got lied to by the service rep by saying how he was the highest I could go. Really? I asked him if he was the president of the company and told him I wasn't stupid. I have it in writing that you get charge 10 per month for remainder of the so called contract (that I had no knowledge of) and they still are trying to charge 400 dollars for. Watch it, they are truly a rip! I'll never do that one again.

My wife and I have been AT&T loyal customer for years and took their advice when looking for an Internet and cable provider, so we signed up for DirecTV. Huge mistake, our service never worked properly, the channels kept going out. We had a technician come and work on the issues in 4 different occasions, it was never right. The only thing that was never an issue, was for DirecTV to bill us every month without errors and making sure we paid for the service (hahaha, what service?)...
We called to cancel the contract and they very politely explained that either we give them another chance to fix it, or simply pay the cancellation fee. How could we trust them to come out to our home one 5th time?... Worst consumer experience l have ever had with a provider. I will pay the cancellation fee just to get rid of the headache. DON'T DO It, unless of course you want to waste money, time and made feel like is your fault for not wanting to give them another chance.

I don't know who these people who gave DIRECTV good reviews talked with or maybe it was before AT&T take over. I just tried to get several questions answered and still didn't succeed. First person didn't speak or understand English. Then get transferred, still have to go through way too many voice prompts that still didn't fit my questions. Get transferred again! More prompts that don't fit. I have missing channels that I pay for! Went missing between Sat & Sunday. Girl tells me "Oh you have to have HDTV to get those." I have never owned an HDTV in the 15 years I lived here, which I told her.
Tried following reset instructions, still no missing channels. And if you move like I'm going to do next month, when they send the boxes to return receivers they turn off your TV! So if I'm moving on the 23rd of the month if I call them to send boxes 5 days before I move I have no TV for 5 days. And you call this great customer service? I'm definitely looking at other options for TV service when we move. NOT an AT&T fan. Will be changing my cell service too ASAP.

On 04/23/16 at about 0845 hours, your DirecTV technician came out to my residence. First, he told me that he couldn't install the dishes, due to the location. Then he told me that I needed a letter from my landlord, before he could start any work (drilling into the walls/installing dishes). DirecTV should really communicate with the new customer about having this letter ready, so that there is no delay. I was able to get the letter from my landlord on the same day, but now have to wait 8 days before I can get my installation. That's not really cool and that is why I am only giving a 2-star rating.

For a decade, I was a loyal customer. Paid like clockwork (on auto-pay). I would have stayed with them if my new home had visible sky to install a dish. When I ended the service, they took over a month to issue a refund... in the form of a "no cash withdrawal CitiBank Debit" card. So, for years, they get my money on time and early. Actual cash. The refund is something hardly usable. And will be difficult to get the full balance off of (some oddball amount because of partial month of service). It's a scam to be able to keep part of the balance I am owed. I just don't know who is the bigger crook... If DirecTV keeps what I can't get off the card, or if CitiBank does. I guess this is the way they "hook" you into being afraid to move on.

We were afraid to change thinking it would be very difficult to maneuver the programming but we are finding it very easy and not as complicated as anticipated... I like the fact that we know how much our bill will be every month and not have a increase without notification. John was with Cox for 26 years and has been unhappy for years now because they would increase the bill and take away programs.

After having DirecTV for a year we were not happy with all the paid channels and the advertising channels DirecTV had. My bill went up 20.00 after the 1st year and I decided to call customer service to see if they had another affordable package. I spoke with the billing department and then was transferred to the sales department. They offered me a 5.00 discount on my bill for twelve months or another package that did not have many of the channels we watch, including the History channel which is our favorite. I told the man in the sales department we would be switching providers and he said, "There is nothing more we can do."
I then switched providers and called DirecTV to cancel our service, I was informed we are being charged 200.00 to cancel. I was told by their customer service representative I was not switched from sales to their department to keep us as customers which I should have been and was offered a great package that our family could afford. I would have remained a DirecTV customer with the package they offered, however after already switching over, taking time off from work for the hook up, and not being handled correctly I told DirecTV I would not be returning. I would still be using DirecTV if the package was offered to me on the first phone call. The account was handled incorrectly from no fault of my own and I am being charged 200.00 for a mistake that was on their part. I will be sure to tell my friends and family not to use their service.

Worst customer service ever. I thought Comcast was bad! These guys are worse! I watched an on demand movie with my family. We wanted to watch another and the whole system shut down! A tech could come "check it out" but it was over a week later! I got the runaround from two different people! Totally regretting switching cable providers.

We've had DirecTV since Aug 2015. It's been just about every single month since then that we've had a code come up. 771 and no reception. We've had numerous technicians come and do everything from change box to rewire everything. Now this weekend is free movie channel weekend and once again we have a 771. We called DirecTV. They tell us we need to pay for a tech to come fix this problem and don't even offer a credit of any sort. After over an hour on phone we got the fee for tech to come waved and they will be coming Tuesday so we need to burn a vacation day for them. I wouldn't recommend DirecTV to anyone! What ever happened to pleasing the customer?? I can't wait until our contract is up!!

The rep did what one is trained to do if I am cancelling installation but was sensitive and responsive when I noted that but I had to do this at this time. I also just acquired service w/ a different provider only 6 months ago. Many personal stressors and definite cancellation of installation.

On Thursday the 21st two gentleman came to install my service. I had had Directv for over a 10 year period 4 to 5 years ago, with no problems. We have had many trees removed since and since they said they could not go on the roof. I'm waiting on a second opinion. I have called in many times to try to speak to someone who cared enough, since I had cancelled my other service to come back with Directv and still I'm waiting for the call I was supposed to get yesterday. Please help if this is an avenue to resolve this. I still want to be a Directv customer, but these two guys that came out did not seem to want to do this install. I would love to speak to a supervisor if possible.

I was a loyal customer to DIRECTV for 4 years and overall, my experience was not a good one. It took almost that full period of time to get the TV anywhere service to work at all, but it is still glitchy. I could not review my account online due to some glitch in the system, but finally got there last year. When I called in, I was frequently interrupted by my agent taking other calls or looking for help from someone else. I was told some time ago I was qualified for an upgrade, but it NEVER ARRIVED. I tried the live chat service, which was totally hopeless. Each response took over 5 minutes! My pay channels were glitchy, so I called in again, and they said they would do something to my system, and it would be fine the following day. It wasn't! I switched to DISH yesterday and am very happy that I did. More channels, less money, much better equipment recording as many as 16 shows at a time, and a Huge number of free movies.

Had to reschedule my install a second time because the install tech indicated that he would not be able to use the cable currently used by Comcast for Internet and one TV set, as CenturyLink will not install Internet and phone until next Tuesday... Somebody needs to inform customer service that this type of installation is not unusual, and if the two services are connected, installing Internet first will alleviate the problem. I don't want another cable on the outside of the house to run one TV set just to get around this problem. I am not amused!

For the last 3 or 4 months I tried to make my payment by phone just like I have for the last 15 years but for some reason it either does not work or it's not processing to my billing page. In 15 years I never missed a payment. I got an alert from my phone that I was late and owed 330 dollars and if I did not get paid they would disc service on the 15th. I got the alert April 20th! I thought well maybe I missed a payment recently. When I check my bank statement DirecTV has a payment posted on the first second or third of the month for the past year. I pay it then because that's when I get paid and that's when I pay my bill for the last 15 years. So when I called today and talked to a young lady she said yes I was late and I owed 330 dollars.
After deeper review she said that I missed a payment so I asked to speak to her supervisor Duke #**. After waiting on the phone for 42 minutes he finally answered and basically said that I owed 181. My online bill said I owed 164.77 not 181? Duke made adjustments to get my bill back to 164.77. What is going on with DirecTV? Phone payment service is terrible, the online bill is not accurate and I was on the phone for over an 1 hour and 12 minutes. If this continues I will look for other services!!!

I have been a DirecTV customer for 3 years now. The bill seems to increase almost overnight. It starts off great, they give you the world for a low cost for the first year, but lock you into a 2 year contract. Their customer service is great at getting you signed up and active with satellite and internet service, scheduling install, etc. Their customer service is also responsive and easy to reach anytime. When it comes to making a change to your service though or canceling it, you have to talk to 10 different people at different companies (AT&T and DirecTV might be owned by the same company but they do not operate the same cancellation services), and it's definitely painful.
They are far more expensive than competition when it comes to certain things like having the NFL Red Zone channel. DirecTV will force you to purchase the "NFL Sunday Ticket" package in order to get Red Zone, which is $60 monthly, compared to Comcast is $10 monthly for Red Zone. Their internet cost is comparable to cable, however it's literally 10 times slower. Comcast offers me 150 MB download speeds for the same cost as DirecTV offering me 12 MB download speeds ($60/month).
My satellite and internet bill combines for nearly 300 monthly with DirecTV and AT&T Uverse, and it's a complete rip-off. I just hung up the phone with Comcast and I am getting all the same features I have with DirecTV, more reliable and instant on-demand, 10x faster internet, and a home phone which I didn't even want but they said it's free, for $160/month for the first two years, then $180/month after the contract is over. It's more than 100 dollar savings per month to have better, more reliable, faster service. Do not fall for the DirecTV scam. Save your money.

Loved my service, even recommended them, but moved to an area where I got a better deal with internet service. Disconnected end of January. Waited for boxes to return equipment. In the meantime, I was making payments on my "early disconnect fee". No boxes... 6 requests and almost 2 months later and I wake up one day to see $800 removed from account. The bank said they ran it through 8 times till the lucky day it cleared. It was just my MORTGAGE payment mind you. No biggie. But you got your money, well my money and I still have no BOXES to RETURN EQUIPMENT.
There isn't a RETURN ADDRESS on the INTERNET anywhere. BOGUS, FRAUDULENT SERVICE. Full of excuses. The poor people who have to work for you just because they need a job. Sad. WARNING: If you early disconnect, close your bank account or card because they apparently do not have to have your authorization to charge you whatever bogus charges they want. And you are never going to be able to send back said equipment. Anyone need a DVR or minis? I have 3 for sale. (eyes rolling)

We recently had DIRECTV. But we decided that the service sucked. Every time it rained hard we lost signal. So before the contract ran out, we cancelled. So now we owed $435. in fees. We had 60 days to pay or they take out of whatever card is on file. About the time of deadline to pay, I lost my card that we used with them. Had to get new one. Naturally the bank will cancel card and give you one with new number. So I didn't have time to tell them new number. Yet at end of deadline. I find an overdraft on my account by them. Seems they found that card # illegally and used it without my permission. Even though in contract it says they will use card on file.. Hum. Now they claim they can't or won't refund. By the way. We were trying to pay it off. How can a company get away with stealing card #.

The Costco deal in conjunction with DirecTV offered so many pluses. The salesman within Costco explained all aspects of what we would get with DirecTV, as well as ensuring that the installation team would look at our property (zillions of huge/tall trees) to determine if we could indeed get satellite reception. If not, then we would not have to pay anything. Good news -- satellites have improved over the years and we get great reception. We are very, very please with the changes from Comcast/Xfinity to DirecTV.

Scheduled the installation from noon-4 pm on 4/18. After escalating with the call center rep, the tech arrived at 5:30 pm. He completed the job at 9 pm. The tech was polite and professional. He did a great job. However, having to essentially waited at home from noon-9 pm for installation is really not acceptable. I am an AT&T employee. I want us to do great. I was a DTV customer for 15 years with no complaints, other than paying too much, which is true for all providers, up until 2.5 years ago when I switched to Dish. I called DTV to ask for some kind of special treatment, a free this, a discounted that, something! But after 15 years of loyalty with no complaints, they offered nothing. UNTIL, that is, I called to say I was cancelling my service and switching to Dish. They then offered me the moon. But, I had already made my decision. The other day I got a great offer in the mail from DTV so I decided to switch back. I liked them better anyway. After 4 phone calls, getting transferred 3-4 times each call, getting cut off a time or two, I finally got someone who could take care of a long lost customer. During the process, it was discovered my phone no. was off by one digit. The CS Rep corrected it and we agreed on text updates.
I scheduled installation for today 4/18/16 and was having Dish turned off on 4/19. My install window was 8-12. There was terrible flooding in my area today, so I expected a delay. Got a text mid morning saying not to worry, I was still on the schedule. By 5 pm I hadn't heard another word from them. I called back and the rep said the tech had called at 1230 and 300, but got no answer. Come to find out, they hadn't corrected my no. for calls, just texts! I stated that it had to be today or tomorrow because no one would be home the rest of the week and my current provider was ending service the next day. They couldn't accommodate a long time customer once again. So I had to cancel the order and call Dish to cancel my cancellation. I wasn't totally satisfied with DTV 2.5 years ago, but I think they've gone even further downhill since their acquisition by AT&T.

Tenants of my rental home ordered DirecTV services. The installer called for my permission to install dish on roof. I said it would be ok if the dish could be removed when or if tenants vacated property. I was assured by the installer that would not be a problem. The tenants recently vacated and after contacting DirecTV for dish removal, I have been told it is not their policy to remove the equipment, the equipment belongs to the tenants. Seriously, I own the home, I want it removed, so what is the problem? DirecTV installer lied to me and DirecTV wants to leave equipment on the property in the hopes of new tenants becoming customers if equipment is left in place. Very deceptive and brazen policy. I will make sure that in any future tenant leases I will ban DirecTV services. I am surprised they are allowed to get away with this practice. Landlords beware, do not allow DirecTV on your property.

How do I begin? Well, first of all, when I signed on with DirecTV, I was never told that snow could create a problem with my service. Living in Minnesota, that's a bit of an important piece of information. So when I started having problems after a few flurries, I was perturbed. After calling and explaining that no, I can't just go brush the snow off of the dish because it is on top of my house, I was told that I may need to have someone come install a pole in my yard. I was previously told that installing a pole would cost me money, and when I told the representative this, they said that I could just "argue that you were not told about snow being a problem and convince them to do it for free." Why should I have to defend why I need something to make my service work? And why should I have to pay extra to make my service work properly in the first place?
Well, after that, and after paying way more than I was promised per month, less than two months into my contract, I decided to call it quits. Too many issues were coming up. So of course there's a massive early termination fee, which is ridiculous given why I terminated it, but whatever. It was clearly explained to me that I have 44 days from receiving my bill to pay everything or else my account would be charged. Ok. But today, in less than half that time, my bank account was charged. I called and talked to several people, who all gave me different reasons for why this happened, all of which who basically told me I was SOL. I will never again use this service. This company is unethical, to say the least.

I have had prior experience with DirecTV and that is why I would not have any other television service! The man who installed our service was very timely and in act showed up before I ever expected! I had ordered DirecTV but the installer never showed up on two occasions. I went through 7 people in just one day with no success trying to get answers. I just got the runaround and finally gave up deciding to go with TWC due to my experience with AT&T. Luckily for me the guy (Richard) who had installed my internet a few days earlier showed up to do another install in the neighborhood. When I told him my experience he got on the phone and within minutes I was speaking to Trina who set me up with DirecTV no problem. My discounts ran out and our bill went up $50. When I called to see about getting some other discounts I was put on hold numerous times, transferred to six people, and on the phone an hour and a half. I was told the only discount available to us was $2.50 a month for 3 months. I'm still under contract for a year because anytime you change your equipment or plan it adds 2 years to your contract. I'm being charged $20 a month for HD recorder. This can't even be downgraded to regular broadcast because they don't support that anymore. DirecTV don't care about loyalty, only the money. I'm extremely disappointed in them and will tell anyone who asked how bad they treat you. This is the thanks you get for being a customer for 15 years.

I signed up DirecTV bundle thru Shelly @ Costco on 4/12, but had buyer remorse, and called AT&T on 4/13 because I had inferior service with AT&T a few years ago. I was not going to keep my appointment with DirecTV if the Net signal continued to be poor. It was confusing--Shelly @Costco said that if I bundled Net and phone I would get $20 off the bundle price month for each service ($40 - $20=$20 for 12-24 MBPS and $30-$20=$10 for Voice Unlimited) for Year 1. There was another price for Year 2. She may have been quoting me a new promo. I called AT&T to find out if they had improved their service and they told me that the Costco quotes on U-verse were wrong. Something about the promos not being correct when I signed up. The two companies need to get their info straight.

Went to AT&T to check on phone problem. Customer Service person discussed DIRECTV and savings. We changed to DIRECTV from Dish. When I got home I noticed on the programming they recommended, it did not have Golf channel. I am an avid golfer and wanted that network. I went back to AT&T and told sales representative I talked with earlier and he said he would change it. Two days later I went up on my account and noticed it had not been changed. I contacted DIRECTV CS and explained the situation and she handled the problem in a matter of seconds in a very courteous manner. Great employee...
