I inadvertently gave the wrong address for my service. I wanted to install DirecTV at my summer home. When I read the service description, it showed my home address. I called and the problem was resolved quickly and easily with no inconvenience to me.

So far I'm very happy. I was with Bright House for over twenty years and the price kept going up for little change in services. The last 12 years I had to exchange one of the boxes 14 times.

While the initial phone conversation with sales seemed to go very well, the installer arrived with the wrong equipment. I specifically ordered wireless equipment and installer arrived with wired equipment. It took two more phone calls to get the order right and the 2nd installer did a terrific job. Four TVs and the satellite equipment on my roof in less than 3 hours. If I didn't have the sales confusion I would have rated this 5 stars. I definitely would rate the installers work 5 stars.

DirecTV took $413 dollars from my checking account because I had to cancel early and without my consent or knowledge causing a deficit in my account and they did this without my debit card #. As a disabled person living on a small budget this has been very difficult for me. DirecTV is one the most dishonest comp. I have ever had. The misfortune of dealing with and the service was crap. Every time it rained the service would go out and we get a lot of rain where I live. Stay away from this dishonest company run by con artist.

I had placed an order for DIRECTV and told my son-in-law had referred me and gave his name and account number. I had to cancel the order because I thought I was not getting the quoted price for 24 months. I then went and called Star Direct who I was told could correct the error. I thought everything was ok and set up an appointment to install. When I checked about the referral rewards I was told there was no record of it being recorded. That due to the fact Star direct did the order I wasn't eligible. Frustrating!!!

Since December 2015 we have been having trouble with DirecTV overcharging us for cable. They always charged in advance. When we decided to terminate their service they said they charged one month behind. When I received the last bill from DirecTV, I called them to confirm that that was the last bill and spoke to Dandrea and her response was yes. We went through the bill and she explained it thoroughly to us and that we have a balance of zero after we paid $153.16 which we paid it off in full and the confirmation # is **. We have told them that we have a different company but still they told us a lie about the bill. Since we have CenturyLink, DirecTV sent a bill to CenturyLink from 30th of March to April, which we did not have services with them, and she did not explain that to us.
We called DirecTV today May 9, 2016 and they threatened us and said that it is not their problem, and if we still want our phone and internet services we have to pay CenturyLink. CenturyLink had no business sending that payment when they knew already we had a different cable provider. That money should be disputed between the two of them and not have the customer included in this situation. My wife and I need the phone services because of medical purposes and Internet because my wife is deaf and we need the Internet for the special phone to be connected.

I have had the easiest and best time dealing with this company. They never throw me for a loop or make me call another number. They are always willing to work with you no matter what you want compared to the price you are willing or able to pay. Shoot! When I was setting everything up the guy I was speaking to, Brian I think was his name, was the absolute best! He sang me hold music and worked with the channels I wanted and without even knowing my budget, made my price so beautiful I just took it!

After being with DirecTV since 1999 and keeping the same package that we started with over the years it has steadily gone up in price. There have been times that I have called and expressed that the price is too much for what I am receiving then after I tell them that I can't afford any longer they give me 12-month discounts sometimes. Constant battle with them doing something different than promised. The last straw was today when my same package went up $45.00 making it 107.28 a month for same package that I was paying $65.01.
I called and Beth was very rude like being with since 1999 made no difference after I explained I have health issues and on a very fixed SS. She asked if I was with the AT&T family. I said yes 16 years there. She said, "I'll give you a $5.00 credit for 3 months." Now in December 2015 John in retention promised in May to call in and they could renew my discounts if I didn't pay late and I never did pay late. I told Beth what I was promised and she seemed as if she didn't care. I told her I was going to have to terminate our relationship she said I was under contract and I said I am not. I have my contract and it's up. She said, "Oh yes I see that now. So want me to turn it off today?" After being there since 1999 that is how DirecTV takes care of you. Thank you for letting me post. Maybe others won't get this kind of service for being a loyal customer and yes you can use my name.

Although it was pretty inconvenient to have a second tech come to our house after the first one said we wouldn't be able to get signal at our house. The second technician and the customer service rep who helped us rectify this mistake were absolutely great hence the five stars.

The first premium TV service I had was DirecTV many years ago. I loved the service but when I needed internet, DirecTV did not have it, and still doesn't, at my location. So I went with Verizon, first with DSL and Later FiOS. I am now changing back to DirecTV but keeping Frontier Communication FIOS internet. DirecTV is working with me to coordinate the dates to accomplish this switch over.

Excellent reception, price, picture quality and channel choice. On the other hand they could possible have the worst receiver I've ever seen going to original cable many years ago. Lose total control of receiver, cannot change channels, read guide or access any numbered key. It sometimes takes 50 inputs to get to channel 3. Very frustrating, tried all search fixes along with DTV help. The receiver is an Extreme weak link. Beware.

My fiance and I were previous Comcast customers and after high bills no one could justify, very poor customer service, inadequately trained customer support technicians we looked into DIRECTV. Subscribing was simple, from the kind sales person explaining various packages to the installation tech who was fast, explained everything and beyond professional we couldn't be happier with making the switch. We are now your biggest recruiters and are working on friends family and even our landlord coming over, seeing the HD quality, the user friendly remote and features at a fraction of the cost of FIOS or Comcast...

My HD channels are not working correctly. I have to use regular channels for the channel to work. It says the satellite is working right but then again nothing is blocking it or anything so I'm just wondering why it's not working right.

Moving into new apartment who uses DirecTV as their provider. Direct requires a two-year contract but my lease is only one year. Not a realistic term. I was told by DirecTV agent there was no other option so I signed with Dish TV using a tripod on my patio for the Dish... Too bad they have no flexibility for term of service.

I became a Directv new customer. Started my services back in January. Never in my life have I been disappointed as much as I am with DirecTV service team. First and foremost when I signed up with the bundle, the service rep promised so many other features that we never received. I didn't make a big deal about it because I didn't need those services anyways. On Wednesday I called to cancel the premium channels and the representative told me that I would be able to keep the premium channels for 6 months and my monthly bill will be lowered by roughly $20 dollars a month. I said "Great!!".
We agreed. She asked if there was anything else, I was all set. Today when I went to watch tv I noticed none of the channels were working. I called DirecTV and was on the phone with them for 1 hour and 30 minutes and they refuse to assist or work with me in any way. I spoke the supervisor. Her name was Jenevieve. She kept saying how the rep misinformed me and if I wanted to keep the services they will charge me $109 a month. Any other company who will admit that their representative was at fault they will honor what they promised and not go back on their word, but it's obvious that DirecTV doesn't care about their reputation and their customers.
Normally I am not the kind to complaint but in your case I felt obligated to save other potential new customers their time and headaches dealing with such an unprofessional and inconsiderate company such as DirecTV. Please be aware they promise all these things at first but once they got you in a contract for 2 years they don't care about you. I was an Optimum customer for 4 years and never have I been so frustrated with them as much as I am frustrated with DirecTV. Save yourselves the frustration, headache and time!!! It's more voluble. Thank any service you will get from DirecTV!!!

We had a installation appt. today, Friday 5/6 from 12-4. Received an email at 2:02 stating the installer was still scheduled to arrive during the original appt time. No other communication! Finally at 5:30 I called DirecTV. Was told that the installer would not be able to accomplish my installation today. The best they can do is offer me an appt this coming Tues. Four days from now! So, we are without TV and they will not reschedule any appts so that we can get our equipment installed prior to someone who scheduled their appt AFTER we did.
We have been a loyal DirecTV customer since 1993 when they first went into business in the Sacramento area. They were so new that there weren't even any receivers available. We paid for one and had to wait for it to be ordered. This is what we get... not even an offer to do a little shuffling so we could get our order in "the order in which I called." I am seriously considering going with Charter. I have that option here in Oregon which I did not have in California. DirecTV may well lose a good customer because of lack of consideration on their part. I might have been sympathetic if they had done some rescheduling but customer service appeared to be unconcerned that we were going to have to wait four more days while other people who placed their orders AFTER us were going to get serviced first.

When I called in to start the process for getting service one of the reps there told me that my connection date would be on the 4th of May. I received and email from your company for confirmation and the date there was for the 10th. I of course was baffled. I called and spoke with a lady about it and she apologized and helped settle the problem. The date is still the same but I am very glad that I received the rep. that I did.

We waited for a week to get them to install the dish and was told the installation would be free so the installer gets to the house and says he can't find a signal which is not true because all of our neighbors have it and he also told us it would be 180 dollars to install it. After talking to managers the installer called his supervisor and put him on speaker phone. The supervisor did not know he was on speakerphone. He proceeded to say that we already got a discount and if we did not like it we could (and to make this family friendly) ** OFF. So needless to say we are very upset.

First off I was asleep when someone woke me up knocking on my door and ringing my bell. I answered and it was AT&T or DirecTV whoever they are selling these services. He asked what I was paying for my cable and internet. After telling him I only paid cable he told me he could let me pay less than that for both. Telling me they were doing all these great promotions to get their customers back since they have lost a lot. Should've told me something then. But I let him sell me the dream.
Long story short I've never paid close to my agreed amount. They fixed the first $300 bill I got. Still was more than I agreed but I let it go. Now after almost 5 months of calling for every bill I asked to cancel and was told I had to pay to cancel which would be over $300. The lady told me they can see I haven't been able to get what I was told because that was lies he told me but that I agreed to it when I approved it. Smh. Also my cable goes out even when it's not raining sometimes and I asked the guy who knocked on my door if it went out during the rain and he told me no. I NEVER would've left Dish if I knew all this. So as SOON as my contract is up, it's back to DISH WHO I NEVER SHOULD'VE LEFT FOR THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY IN THE FIRST PLACE FOR!

We had no problem with DirecTV - It was with AT&T who were the rep we talked to and cancelled out with. They were too pushy and we couldn't have time to think about the purchase. Therefore we cancelled and stayed with our prior carrier.

It took way too long to make the initial sales call, over an hour. Then I had to call pending orders and they had to cancel the original order and redo it, which was an hour. They spelled my name incorrectly, so I had to call back and have that corrected. The second order also increased the price by $10 per month for the exact same service and the explanation was that the promotional codes were different. I had service installed today and it took 4 hours to install. I had to call off work, which I do not get paid for. It would be great if I were compensated for all of my lost time and the increased price on my bill.

I've just had Directv installed, replacing Dish. Directv sales people are absolutely trying to deceive new customers. They say things on the phone to close a sale with no intention to deliver. I responded to one of their flyers I received in the mail. During the phone call, I especially liked two things with their offer. A channel line-up including Tennis Channel was offered with more channels than my existing package with Dish at a slightly lower monthly price. But more importantly, she said the four genies I needed were going to be wireless. I really liked that as it was going to allow me to watch TV out on the deck in the summer months.
I found out later that the channel line up we negotiated did not have the Tennis Channel so I had to upgrade and pay more. Plus at the time of installation, the equipment was not wireless. Customer Service didn't care at all. They basically asked me if I want the service or not. I had already cancelled Dish, and everything was installed so I had to accept what I have now. Be very careful when negotiating with Directv. Ask everything negotiated be sent to you in an email to keep a record. They deny the conversations held before and sell their product using deceptive tactics.

I attempted to sign up for DirecTV because they claim to be associated with the eScrip program to raise money for schools. It took over 30 minutes to complete the process and schedule an installation. I was promised that I would then be transferred to someone to customer service to make sure my daughter's school would receive the eScrip credit. I was transferred 3 times and spoke with 3 different people who knew nothing about the service that was promised on the website.
At this point I had wasted almost an hour and was tired of getting the runaround. I told the representative that if I could not receive eScrip credit I wanted to cancel my installation and my account. I was then transferred 3 separate times after demanding to cancel my account. Each time, I was told by DirecTV that the person I was speaking to, "only worked in billing and could not cancel my account." I finally demanded to speak with a manager. The manager then told me that the last person I was speaking to "worked in sales." So, apparently they can't keep their own lies straight. Now, they have already charged my card a "pending charge" for the installation that I will never receive. I have to wait 168 before I can even dispute the charge. These people are scam artists. Deal with them at your own risk. They will lie to you, and waste your time, and try to take your money. I will never deal with them again.

This was something totally new to us. We do not do any type of TV extras as we are not watchers. So to set this up for our tenant in our rental home was a breeze. The initial contact representative was very informative, patient, and kind. She even repeated things for me to actually write down for reference at a later date - she knew the packages and looked for the best possible prices. She was great!!

I've been a DirecTV customer for nearly 12 years. I'm ready to cancel now due to exorbitant bill increase and total lack of customer service. I keep calling, waiting on hold for a long time and then keep getting disconnected. I've "spoken" with different individuals on Facebook about my issues and they promise to get back to me but months go by and no follow up. Today I attempted to chat with a customer service individual but their online chat is tediously slow (thanks AT&T) and a complete waste of time. The person on the other end could only apologize. I don't need apologies. I need someone to help me lower my bill and listen to my comments about their lousy customer service.

DirecTV customer service tech support is unprofessional, unacceptable, and was not appreciated. To be addressed with responses such as "if you're not going to do what I say" or "you'll be helping my ears" which was the response I was given after I ask to speak with a manager secondary to the unprofessionalism from the representative. Which also followed with "well, all the managers are at a meeting and cannot speak with you, but I can mail you a complaint form for you to fill out." Which I declined and demanded to speak with a manager. I was denied such request and I was told "well, they're all in a meeting and I don't have time to stay on the phone with you."
Now, I usually don't bother with reviews but I felt this was necessary as a customer, especially when having technical difficulties with a device that should be "home friendly". Whose employees should be trained to deal with frustrated customers, due to the lack of knowledge in operating the "home friendly" device which come to find out the "Genie" was malfunctioning due to a satellite interference. Something that is totally out of the customer's control. If I switched the HDMI cord once and powered down to reboot it, I did it a thousand times. After my initial rude conversation with this representative whose name and customer ID I will not advertise, I called back again to continue troubleshooting the device "Genie" so that I could continue getting service that I am paying for.
Two hours and three representatives later the "Genie" is still down and I have no cable. It took three representatives and two hours just to make an appointment for someone to come out and replace the infamous "Genie" or the satellite. My whole experience was exhausting and stressful. I wouldn't recommend DirecTV to anyone. Paying for a service that I don't have. It's the principle not the contract.

The people with DIRECTV have been very helpful. They came out Saturday to hook up the TV service but couldn't find a place in the front yard to put the dish. Our landlord said it could not be attached to the house. They did not check the backyard. They said they would send a supervisor out to check in the next few days.

Everyone that I came into contact with while dealing with your company are credits to it. The installer came out to verify what was needed. Instead of giving me a bad product, by not having the correct line of sight in my apt, he explained the problem. He was the one that reminded me to get my refund. Then I spoke with Mimi. She was professional and friendly. When I move again, those 2 people made me want to try again to use your product.

After 12+ years of being a loyal customer, I finally decided to cancel my Directv service. Over the years, service has gotten worse. The last straw was when they upgraded my set-top boxes about two years ago for two separate TVs via a splitter of some sort, and the 2nd TV constantly loses connection with the satellite dish, requiring a full unplugging at the main entry point and restarting for it to reconnect. When I asked for someone to come fix, Directv told me they would charge me a service fee just to come see what was wrong. This week, I just decided it wasn't worth it anymore. I don't watch much TV anyway.
When I called in to cancel (never mind the 1+ hour between hold time and speaking with 3 different reps before they got me to the right person), I was told that the 2 dishes on top of my house was my problem to dispose of, because they do not send people out to recover their own equipment. After a few minutes of pleading asking that they come take down their dishes (I don't have tall enough ladders nor the tools to get them off on my own), I ended up filing a complaint with the BBB (outcome pending). Existing subscribers and potential new subscribers beware - when you choose to cancel service, you will be stuck with the satellite dishes as Directv will not take them down.

It was storming Friday, 4/29/16 and the tech arrived anyway. He came in and surveyed what TV's would be connected. When advised what the apartments would allow he advised what equipment device would be needed. Then instructed me to call customer service and reschedule. The CenturyLink Cust. Service rep told me I was getting The Outdoor Channel and 3 months of HBO, Showtime and Starz as part of the Ultimate package which was not the case. I had to call and pay for the OC and ask for the promo of the movie channels.

Because of the costs each month, I decided to cancel my services. I returned the required boxes and was sent a final bill. I had not yet paid it, and when I sat down at my PC to pay it, I saw that DirecTV had already taken money out of my bank account the day before WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION!!! I called DirecTV immediately and was told there was nothing I could do to prevent it from happening in the future. I asked them to remove my account information and was told that DirecTV will keep that information in their files. In order to stop them from ever taking any additional funds from my bank account, I will need to close my bank account of 10 years and re-open a new one!
No other company that I pay online has ever taken money from my bank account without my authorization. To me, this should be illegal. They get around it by putting a statement on the site and putting it in the fine print that most people do not read. Shame on me for not reading the devious fine print! Even if I was considering it... after this happened today, I have decided that it is not a company that I am willing to trust my information to and I will never do business with DirecTV ever again. Hopefully, others will read my review and be warned of what DirecTV can do with their bank accounts!!

I've always been an AT&T customer and never had any issues with my service. Once they merged with DirecTV, they offered me an awesome package that allowed me to switch my U-Verse TV to DirecTV at a really good price. The first install didn't get done because the DirecTV dispatch sent the technician to the wrong address. When I called and told them they were at my old address, they made me reschedule and would not send a technician out the same day. The second time (this morning) the technician left without a word.
I called the customer service number to find out what happened and found out he left because I have pet snakes. Now I understand most people are afraid of snakes and I could see where he might feel uncomfortable. However, they are all in tanks and are very well contained. Had he just said he didn't feel comfortable, I would have moved them - no problem. Instead, he left and told his dispatch the conditions in my house were unacceptable and he didn't feel "safe". Now, again, I can understand some people not liking snakes and I have no problem with that fact. But the U-Verse internet technician came to my house earlier this week and although he didn't like snakes either, he told me he was afraid of them. We addressed his concerns. He completed the install, and all was right with the world.
Furthermore, when I called the DirecTV dispatch they shuffled me around to five different people before I demanded to speak with a manager. After putting me on hold for 5 minutes, the manager told me she would send a communication to the dispatch manager in my area and there was no guarantee they would get back to me today. Because of my work schedule, Saturday is the only day I have off - I can't be here during the week to wait for another technician to come out. Thoroughly frustrated, I called AT&T customer service back and to make up for the discourtesy and inconvenience, they are giving me U-Verse back at no charge. People may say DirecTV service is better than U-Verse, but the customer service is severely lacking. I would rather pay a few more dollars and be treated like a human being when I call than to have awesome TV and be treated like crap all because my hobbies are outside of the "norm".

My late husband and I had been with DirecTV since 2005. We wanted reception when it snowed in the woods of Maine. We did not get that with Dish so we changed companies! We were happy with our decision. In 2013 my husband died unexpectedly and the account became mine. They still considered me a customer since 2005. In 2014 I made a decision I could no longer remain in the cabin in the woods, at age 67 I could no longer survive in the woods alone, so I moved.
My landlord said I could not bring Direct with me. He did not allow a dish on the home I was renting, so I canceled my contract with them. That was easier enough, but the I received my final bill $302 and change. WOW. I called their customer service, explained the circumstances and was given $100 off the bill. I was happy but asked if I spoke to billing would they do more since I was not stopping service because I was dissatisfied with DirecTV. She said I could but it would do no good. She was honest and very kind. Her name was Bridgett!! Spoke fluent English that was a plus also.
When I went to pay my bill by phone which I had done since forever, I was transferred to customer service, got the BS about taking the service with me. Told her I couldn't and why, that did not matter!! She continued! I finally was able to stop her and say I just want to pay my bill of $196.55, FINALLY she okayed that, saying I would get this amount back if I came back to Direct. Again I told her it was not ok with my landlord. So DirecTV has nearly $200 of my money. A woman on SS, too HAD to make changes in her life to survive what time I had left in life. Enjoy my money DirecTV. Buy fuel with it for your CEO's plane. DirecTV is great as long as you play by their rules and don't make changes in your life. I wonder if they would have charged my estate if I had died before my contract expired???

Before AT&T took over I never had one problem. Now I have problems. Got on my PC to go on my DIRECTV account to add "HBO" channels and it was impossible. So I called DirecTV and got passed over to AT&T, back to DirecTV then back to AT&T. The only problem I got solved was to add HBO, but not the problem with my user ID and password to log onto the DirecTV site. They won't even recognize the DirecTV account number. The "technical support" with AT&T suggested that I just create a new account. Tried that and that is when I found out my DirecTV account number is not recognized either along with user ID and password. I have spent several hours on this problem and I am sick of it. Knew the minute I heard AT&T took over DirecTV that they would make a hash job of it.

Directv charged my checking account $924 without my knowledge. 4 customer service representatives later (last from corporate) I was able to figure out why. I moved because I had to downsize due to financial situation therefore I suspended my services with Directv until I was able to figure out my financials at the new house. I reconnected a few months later. However, they opened a separate account instead of reactivating the first one therefore I had two contracts! After the suspension was over at the first residence (6 months later) and when they were unable to collect 2 months of services they turned it into a termination and charged me disconnection charges of $924! Without my knowledge or given me the opportunity to rectify the situation.
I didn't get any phone call and apparently wasn't receiving mail (maybe due to change of address). In addition, Corporate office did not offer any help with the charges after learning the error. In retrospect, even though I was no longer at old address, I would've had to pay for 2 services, one of which I wasn't using due to move had it not been terminated? I wonder! I wasn't intentionally not paying, I just didn't know about the error.
This is the worst experience I've had with a cable company and will never sign up for a direct pay with any company, thanks to this! I am a single mother and now in a financial bind. I have placed a dispute with my bank and I am hoping a better resolution can be made and fast! Thanks Directv for taking all the money I had in my account and placing me and my family in a bad financial position!

I have been a DirecTv customer for years. In the last year, my bill has changed amounts every single time. When I started my contract, it was $41. The last bill was $84. I called a few months ago and spoke to someone who wasn't a native English speaker. They assured me that I would go back to what I was charged before, which was $41. The next month, it was $41. The month after that? $95. A few months later, when I had finally had enough, I called to cancel services. Guess what? $400 early termination fee! When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was placed on hold for 45 minutes.
When I was finally connected, I shared my complaint with the woman, who responded by raising her voice at me. Now, I was completely shocked. I asked to speak to her manager. She was "out of the office" and I needed to "get over it." This was obviously horrific customer service. I googled the main office's number and proceeded to call them. They, in turn, gave me the runaround and said they would, in no uncertain circumstances, not waive the ETF. Moral of the story: GO CABLE FREE. Unfortunately, this kind of treatment is not unique to DirecTv... I've had issues that are much worse with Time Warner Cable, if you can believe it.

The original contact with your sales representative was less than satisfactory. I was given false information with regard to local channel availability. I was told more than once that channels 3, 6, & 10 from Phila, PA would definitely be part of my channel package - it was not. Sales rep also talked too fast to be understood on several points. Upon noting that to her she did attempt to slow down. Your installer, Silvano ** was GREAT. He made my day much better in spite of the original misrepresentation. The setup and reception are first class and I am highly satisfied with that.

Do not get locked into this contract at all... They charge way more than COMCAST and Dish Network. This company wheels you in with reward card the min. $200.00 and tell you to refer friends to get $75.00-$100.00 in referral gift cards for every person you refer and $10.00 discount on your monthly bill. You will have to refer 1 person a month to get a good deal. Other than that you get charged all the way up to the Milky Way galaxy with monthly fees.
For example my bill is suppose to be $30.00 for AT&T internet and 19.99 DirecTV Package, not to mention I was discounted on all fees for installation from both parties. My bill jumped to 96.00 a month because of my tax, program fees, and all 3 of my receivers that have a charge every single month. So the total of my bill both parties is 126.00 month plus my taxes. I was billed 145.00 after taxes.
This place is horrible. I could have stayed with Comcast. My bill with DVR, INTERNET, TAX, AND 4 RECEIVERS, AND MOVIE STATIONS with Oxygen was 124.00 after tax. Please do not uses this company for cable. Don't get locked in their 2-year contract. You will regret it... or get an attorney to get you out of it. Matter of fact buy their stocks because this company is a rip off for consumers, but a "Gold Mine" for investors. PS: I am an dissatisfied new customer as of March 7, 2016.
