    First, let me say that my mother has DIRECTV and she has never complained about the service she received, but my experience has been totally different. The initial phone call was pleasant, I guess you can say. The phone rep, although he talked way too much, was very pleasant and tried to get through the extremely lengthy script he had to read as fast as he could. After the initial phone call, everything went downhill. I called back in a day or two later to check on the order and was informed that my order was on hold because it seemed to be service already connected in my home. As I was placed on hold numerous times and then hung up on, I never seemed to get that issue resolved.

    Then I asked about the referral program and was told I had to speak to someone in customer service. Instead of being transferred to the customer service department, the phone rep gave me the number so I would have to hang up, call another number, wait on hold again and explain the reason for my call AGAIN. The automated system seemed to have been against me as well since it didn't seem to understand anything I said and when I tried to use the keypad to enter my options, it simply told me "THIS IS A NEW SYSTEM AND YOU MUST SPEAK YOUR OPTIONS". I found this quite odd since every rep I've spoken to is foreign and speaks with a heavy accent, so for your automated system to not be able to understand me, a person who speaks very clearly, is very confusing.

    When I finally got through to a rep I was told I had the wrong department and was given yet another number to call. When I called that number, the recording stated it was after business hours (it was only about 5:30pm). As of this day (June 14, 2016), I still do not have service, nor do I have anyone that seems to give a darn about whether I ever have the service at all. Since this attempt (AND THE ATTEMPT WITH COMCAST) has been a failed one, I guess I'll have to get my $100.00 deposit back and try again. Seems like I'm running out of companies to choose from. Guess I'll give DISH a call.

    I rate DIRECTV and customer service and higher ups as a thieves. I made an online payment to DIRECTV approximately May 24, 2016 for my first bill that was $66.81. I accidently sent a payment via my online banking in the amount of $6681.00. Yes, you are reading that correctly. As soon as I noticed I call my bank and then DIRECTV. A DIRECTV representative stated he was going to deny my payment because it was not the amount due and marking it high priority. The next day DIRECTV ACCEPTED MY PAYMENT.

    I have been lied to for 4 weeks by many managers stating my money will be credit to my account in 2-3 days, then 7-10 day. It is now the 4th week and I have not received any of my money from DIRECTV. I have provide bank statements showing the transaction was processed and accepted by DIRECTV, my account number and routing numbers where on the statements per request of DIRECTV STATING IT WAS REQUIRED SO I MAY RECEIVE A REFUND. This company does not care about you the consumer. They illegally accepted my money, collect interest on it, and continue to make me jump through hoops. I NEED A LAWYER THAT WANTS TO TACKLE THIS CASE. I live in Northern Virginia. Would like to add that my bank of almost 30 years, Wells Fargo, has been no help.

    Firstly, we'll start off with inadequate service from the beginning. We signed up with DirecTV with a young, inexperienced sales agent, who repeatedly quoted us our monthly bill before we verbally agreed to the terms and conditions on the 2 year agreement. Hours later the email confirmation we received had a completely different monthly price with all sorts of hidden fees that were not mentioned in the conversation. We asked to speak to management but were bounced around to several different "supervisors" who only kept pushing the fee upwards. No one took responsibility for the false, incorrect quote provided regarding our monthly fees, nor did any of these so called "supervisors" pull the call to confirm the agents' quotes.

    We spent over 2-3 hours on the phone until we finally got a 'manager' on the line who cancelled our account but without already charging us the 2-3 hrs of service we had received, which again, we had spent trying to cancel service. We had to make numerous calls to get a 'manager' to waive those fees as well. Now, they want to charge us for equipment that we haven't shipped back. Mind you, we had called several times to get instructions and boxes to send the equipment with no follow-up. It's by far the shadiest business we have ever dealt with. Awful Awful Awful!!!

    I have been without good service for the past week. I've gotten an upgrade back in April and since that day my channels has been going in and out. Sometimes I can get BET and sometimes I can't. So I call the 1-800 # and everyone I talked was rude. It seem to me they had an attitude because my cable was working that I pay for. I tried to get someone out to take a look the next day but I had to wait a week, and they say I'm a valuable customer for 10+ yrs.

    On 5/11/16 I scheduled DirecTV to be cancelled at the first chance I could while avoiding the ETF, which would be on 6/3/16 (because they constantly raised the price after I signed a price guarantee but that's a separate issue). My service was cancelled promptly on 6/3/16 and a few days later I got the next bill which included DTV from 5/27 - 6/26. Instead of cancelling the DTV portion, they make you pay in full (actually more because you lose discounts) and they send you a gift card prorated for what they steal on this bill that should come in 30+ days (sure... we'll see).

    I even offered the customer service rep a few solutions I was perfectly fine with, and no one is inconvenienced: the easiest being give me a credit now, then bill me the amount on the gift card next month, which I'll use the card on. Declined without a second thought. There is absolutely no reason for this unless you're doing it out of spite, which is despicable. DirecTV screwed me constantly for 2 years and still got the last laugh. I'll be sure to continue to warn everyone I can about that fraud of a company, though.

    I was literally lied to when signing up for this service, I specifically said I didn't want to be locked into any contracts with any early termination fees to try this and yet a year later my rates double!! Locked into another year with a higher bill than my cable, slower internet and the most frustrating program guide and their show selection is horrible. So sad I verbally agreed to this contract over a phone without reading all the fine print they try to hide from you while promising something else. P. S. If it storms forget watching TV that night!! Worst decision ever!

    Directv will go up on their prices even though you have a contract with them. They will reach into your bank account if you are on autopay and take what they want. You need a lawyer before you enter any agreement with Directv. The picture quality was great. Customer service bad. Overcharged on billing many times.

    I am very pleased with service and my installation. I do recommend DirecTV to people all the time. I did notice a thing tonight that does bother me. The comments about one of the movie schedule had a serious grammar (maybe spelling) error. The comments were about Carnival in Flanders, to be aired at 02:00AM Monday, 14 Jun 2016, on TCM. The comment states, "Flemish women supersede their week men to deal with invaders." What are 'week men'? Are they men that the Flemish women only keep around for a week at a time? I suspect it should read, "weak men".

    Please, as a premier communications company, do not let the poor spelling and grammar of so many people creep into your systems. Many people today, especially young people, do not realize the importance of accuracy in spelling and proper grammar. Please don't contribute to this problem. Thank you for any notice you may take to this post. (I am still happy with DirecTV)

    Had this novice technician come out to install the service. First he installs the dish on top of a brand new roof after my wife told him not to, then bores a hole into a brand new soffit and then decides not to use it and runs the coax down the soffit that looks like (well I'll be glad to send pictures).     I was able to get this accomplished and to even make some corrections to the order that were my fault (a couple of days later). While the general process is somewhat time consuming and a little difficult, the reps are very supportive. A couple of things to fix: while waiting on credit check, etc., and answering a couple of questions I had (i.e., I was ordering a "bundled" service of DirecTV & CenturyLink internet/local phone service), your system would "time-out" and he would have to start all over again with pulling up the new account record. Somewhat exasperating!

    Since this decision would be based upon both myself and my brother (we co-own the condo), I had to get all the details about the order and costs for him to make a decision. As such, I then called back 2 days later, after we had decided to go with your service, and found out I then had to do ANOTHER credit check. This definitely affects my credit scores and should be reevaluated by your policy people. Other than that (and the excessive time it takes to establish this service, there were no problems...

    Installation of dish on house improperly installed. Was promised the sun & moon. Was suppose to have wireless throughout house. Never happened. All with wire. Was also promised to have Netflix. Never came with package. Price quoted wrong. Left all the packaging materials on living room floor. Maybe he thought his Momma was going to come and pickup after him. With all of this we cancel out in less than 24 hours. Good riddance. They should dry up, disappear, go away.

    On 6.8.16 I called DirecTV to discuss packages. While on the phone with a sales rep from DirecTV I explained that I work from home, and need to use VPN. She assured me for several minutes that I would have my own satellite thus making my internet speed much faster (30MB per second with up to 6 systems). Before transferring me the sales rep had taken my credit card, and social security number down to run my credit and secure my package by charging $1. However; I was extremely disappointed when I was transferred to the "internet department" and she told me in my area (95819 - Sacramento) that VPN would work "very little to not at all."

    At that point I had to cancel my entire order because VPN access and fast internet is my bottom line. How can I be charged $1 for a package that DirecTV can't even deliver? The internet rep then "transferred" me back over, in which I got disconnected. While I understand the initial sales rep may not be an expert, she should know whether or not VPN access is achievable or not and save us both the 45 minutes that we spent on the phone. I called back and spoke to someone different (obviously since I imagine I was routed into a call center) and told him the situation and that I needed to cancel my entire package.

    It was very hard for me to hear him. I never received the initial contract in my email (perhaps because I canceled) nor did I receive a cancellation notice. I had requested a cancellation notice from the sales rep as well as customer service. I called DirecTV back on 6.9.16 (11:50 am PST) to attempt to get a cancellation letter since I had scheduled an installation with the sales rep for Wednesday, June 15 and was transferred from the sales team to customer service. Customer Service could not help me, and refused to let me speak to a manager; pleading several times "please give me another chance, please let me help you. Let's start over," after allowing her to not pass me to a manager, because I had asked 3 times at this point, while she refused.

    She asked who my current provider was. I told her Comcast. After I told her that she then tells me "Ma'am I'm sorry you have reached the wrong carrier, this is DirecTV." At this point I hung up the phone (12:10 pm PST), I received a phone call from (334) 209-5861 claiming to be "Cable Services" asking if I needed cable/internet. I asked where they got my information, and asked if it was from DirecTV. I then asked them to remove me from their call list in which the man responded "** you. ** you Angie (my name)! ** your mother. ** your father. ** your son." I then hung up.

    My conversation did not go well with the Customer Service Rep and it is not a coincidence that I received a phone call a short time following getting harassed. Since DirecTV gave this person my name and phone number, I then called and canceled my credit card through my bank that DirecTV took from me. They still have my social security number on file which is extremely concerning.

    Does anyone else have problems with AT&T/DirecTV billing? I have had numerous transcribed chats with ATT/DirecTV reps and they will confirm my total bill, and we'll think all is good. The next billing cycle rolls around, and the bill is over $60/month higher. I chat again with these reps, and go through the same spiel. This time (actually I am chatting with them now), the rep first told me the bill didn't include taxes. Then he came back and said there was a Regional Sport fee that wasn't added. The most recent rep then told me the previous rep gave me incorrect information (after I sent him a copy of the transcribed conversation). This has taken up a lot of my time and causes a great deal of aggravation. If a rep states a total charge, ATT should stand behind it - don't make it the consumer's fault if the correct info wasn't relayed, and don't make the consumer take over 45 minutes of their time to correct it.

    I've been a customer since 2011. In the past 2 years I've had several (15+) collection calls for a person I do NOT know. In this day of identity theft I am very concerned. Last year I called customer service (3x) to have my number removed from this person account. It was supposedly taken care of but let me remind you it took several calls. Each person I talked to assured me that my number was off this stranger's account and that I would not be bothered further. Last week, the calls started again! I'm extremely pissed! It's for the same person as the last time! So, again I call customer service. The representative takes my number from this person's account... again. I ask to speak to a manager. I'm put on hold... another representative answers and I explain the entire situation again and again ask to speak to a manager.

    This representative can't understand why I need to speak with management. She states that the representative I first spoke to handled the situation. She can't seem to grasp that I want to prevent this from happening again and want to speak to a manager. Again I'm placed on hold and after about 10 minutes the call was disconnected. I think I have a right to speak to the manager. I'm now shopping for another cable provider. I've lost faith that I have a secure account. One very disappointed customer!

    I had a very bad experience dealing with a package offer from AT&T/DirecTV. They told me AS A NEW CLIENT, I will be eligible to get an offer for a discounted rate as 100$ for INTERNET AND CABLE and after 1 month 10$ discount will be automatically applied every month for 24 month, so that would be 90$. Unfortunately, they just try to scam me. I have an installation which is pending and I'm about to cancel service if they will not fixed what they promised over the phone.

    I tried to get a solution from the support center and ended speaking to 7 customer service agents for at least an hour in a single call without a solution to the problem. Then I spoke to supervisor and the supervisor promised to call back and I have never heard from him again. I am sure there are lot of customers like me who ended up in similar situations. This a SCAM COMPANY. I would never recommend to any of my friends and family their services and about to cancel installation!

    Calls on phone were handled very well. Gave more relevant information than the sales person at the AT&T store. The negative issue is the 4 hour window given. During the window time of arrival, I was not informed or given any updated time as to when the installation technician would be arriving. There was about a half hour left in the time zone and still didn't receive a call. I had to reschedule the appointment. Customer service rep understood the problem and made a new appointment. Would be nice to keep the customer informed of status of arrival. It is very frustrating to sit and watch the 4 hour time period slowly come to an end.

    This company is horrible. We finally disconnected service with them a couple months ago and we are still having problems with them. Like always they tell you one thing and do another. They illegally take money from people's accounts without authorization!!! They tell you for your final bill you can set up payments - don't TRUST them. Send in checks for payments. Never make the mistake of giving them a card like we did. Their finance department automatically took out the rest of our payment a couple days later and would not reimburse their mistake even though customer service said they would and the note clearly stated in their system we were going to make payments. We were loyal good customers that paid on time or early every month but they always messed up our billing their customer service team does not know anything and their managers are no better!! They do nothing to help or try to keep loyal customers.

    Service is excellent. 12 months goes by you're happy. Then month 13 that's when they sock it to ya!! Each month goes by and your bill goes up by $5 / $10 / even $30!!! Shocked I called them and they told me they discounted the first year but afterward you have to pay FULL price! My bill went from $118 to now $194 in 4 months time after the 12 months was over and you're locked in for 24 months until you can go back to cable.

    I applied for DIRECTV online. Due my address, DIRECTV informed me that a $149 deposit is needed to order DIRECTV. I thought this was normal since AT&T took over. My credit card was charged on a Saturday when the installer left. I did not get DIRECTV due to a "weak signal" or something. Installer said that the channels and guide may take 24 hours to come on. The 24 hours went by and no channels. I called DIRECTV that next day (Sunday) and the recording said to call back during normal business hours Monday through Friday which I did.

    A supervisor told me that my services were canceled just as soon as the installer activated 3 receivers for me. Not one receiver in my home will pick up a channel. I told the supervisor to please send someone out or to issue me a refund, because I need my money to pay for cancer-related expenses and I just recently got on disability. I have been diagnosed with a Stage 4 cancer, so you can imagine the expenses that I have. Still, no help from the supervisor with DIRECTV, now AT&T.

    So, be careful about DIRECTV or AT&T. They will take your money and not resolve it. I reported this to my credit card holder but that takes time to get resolved, and time is not on my side. I hope all of my friends and family read this review or at least hear about it. This is my second review that I have written in my life about anyone or anything. Thanks.

    On 6/5/16 I lost all connectivity on ALL televisions in my home. The error 775 was displayed on all televisions. I followed the directions to correct the error and it did not work. I called DirecTV on 6/5/16 as instructed and after attempting to correct the error I was advised that I would need a service call. The earliest service appointment available was for 6/13/16 (8 days later). I was then placed on a cancellation list with the local office and if a cancellation came in I would be given that service date. I stated that was unacceptable, and after speaking with a supervisor and a manager I was told that nothing more could be done. I'm in disbelief that DirecTV has this type of service for its customers. I completely regret having switched to DirecTV only to experience this type of absurd service.

    I have asked repeatedly to be transferred to someone higher up in management that can provide service at least within 24 hours and have been repeatedly told there is no one higher. I was told that I could write a letter to the president and mail it. If I thought that would get me anywhere before 8 days I would. I have been and will continue to tell everyone I know to not purchase DirecTV and your service is extremely horrible.

    Had service with DirecTV since 2014. I called one day with a question about my bill. They talked me into letting them send out new equipment saying that it would save me a couple of dollars per month. They apparently also entered me into a new 2 year contract as well!! My husband and I built a new house and moved in April of this year. When we moved we sold our old house and turned off the service. I didn't want to go with DirecTV for the new house but he chose to go ahead and turned on service in his name. We only had a gap in service while waiting for the technician to come out and hook up service.

    We have been paying DirecTV for the account and they are still charging us a $245 early termination fee. The customer service guy suggested that we moved the old service to a family member’s house and continue paying monthly fees to not have to pay the early termination fee!!! What!? We are still using you guys plus that sounds a little crooked! I will NEVER use DirecTV again! My husband is currently looking at his contract and calling to cancel our service!

    I had a very bad experience dealing with a package offer from AT&T, DirecTV and Samsung. On purchase of Galaxy 6 edge you will be eligible to get an offer from DirecTV for a discounted rate plus a Samsung TV 48 inch free. Unfortunately, Directv could not install the dish as my house was not in a right direction and they had declined. I had purchased the Samsung phone due to this offer. Now when the dish is not installed, I will neither get a TV free nor the Directv connection.

    What wonders me is the way the package is planned, I tried to get a solution from the support center and ended speaking to 10 customer service agents for at least an hour in a single call without a solution to the problem. They are not sure what can be done in such situations hence they pass the blame to each other and pass the calls irresponsibly (ATT-DirecTV-Samsung). I am sure there are lot of customers like me who ended up buying the phone due to the offer and got nothing in offer, in similar situations. There should be a workaround when an offer is designed, in such situations, which I do not see here.

    Been a DIRECTV customer for over 15 years. The only reason I've been with them so long is because of their monopoly of the NFL ticket. Every year they offer me a deal on the ticket in which I have to call every month to argue their dishonest deals they never follow up on. The customer service is horrible. Once they withdrew money from me and didn't credit my account. I fought this for months until my bank manager threaten to file a grievance against them. If you are not a NFL fan I would not recommend DIRECTV. Unless you have 2-3 extra hours every month to argue your bill.

    I went into my local SAM's club recently and registered for DirecTV after the DirecTV representative had asked me many previous times to sign up. He showed me where I could Bundle my ATT home phone and Internet with DirecTV for 89.99 a month. He also said that if I signed up today I would get a $300 gift card from SAM's Club.

    Two months later and DirecTV is telling me my Bundle price is $224 a month. Nowhere close to the $89.99 and I have nothing extra. I also haven't received my gift card that DirecTV even went as far to offer me a FedEx tracking number but FedEx knows nothing about. I've been hung up on by the loyalty department 5 times. I told them I was a Veteran and my wife was disabled and I swapped to save money. He basically said he didn't care if I was a veteran and that $224 was my price. Not the 89.99 that I was offered. I went back to the store rep and was nice to see if he would help. I'm waiting on a call from a guy he called with DirecTV. My next step is to talk with the SAM's Club supervisor about what's being done to their customers and then on to a local radio show plus any military base I go to. It's sad to be treated like this and I still have a picture of the DirecTV price offered that was on their site.

    I'm a new customer. Only 2 months I've had DIRECTV and I was with AT&T. Well I signed up from a Walmart/DIRECTV rep at Walmart and was promised a bill under 100.00. I didn't go for it yet. Then wife and I decided to check it out again and now it was no higher than 120.00 it would be. Also other things were promised that wasn't accurate. Well after many grueling phone calls in the first 2 months due to horrible service, bad installation, being ripped off by the subcontractor during installation for a splitter for 35.00, which was taken out by DIRECTV installer and not refunded, my service has soooo many problems, and now I just got my first bill, $191.00, for choice package, regular phone, and slow internet. WTF is wrong with this company?

    So tomorrow I have to spend more time on the phone telling them how ** up they are. 2 yr contract sucks. This was a bad decision to switch to DIRECTV. Not that AT&T didn't have their problems neither. Isn't there a company that actually delivers on their promises and have reliable service? I hate being stuck in a contract with horrible service. I don't recommend signing up through a Walmart agent. Don't let the gift card lure you in. It's not worth it.

    I was shopping for TV service came across DirecTV. Called, talk with what sounded like a young man, very energetic. He asked what kind of TV do I like to watch, I said news Fox, CNBC, and other major news programs. He ask "Do you watch sports," I said no. "Movies," I said no. I said I like TLC, Discovery, FYI, DYI and the home improvement channels. I asked if there was a contract he said "No, welcome to the home of the only satellite provider with no contract." I said "Ha." He said "Welcome to the DirecTV family where we treat you like family."

    The installers came, nice guys. Said there are many trees but he found a spot, my satellite's 3 ft. off the ground. Can you imagine, then as they were registering the receiver I mentioned how I was happy there's no contract and the one installer said "What, there's 24-month contract." I said "No that's not what I was told." They went through the spiel "Are you going to live here, you either accept the 24-month or we take your tv connection, decide now". Everything was installed, I felt obligated. The one installer said "You have 24 hours," the other said "No as soon as it's activated you're under contract." So I did not get.

    FYI if I want the channel I have to order another package that comes with 74 other channels. So welcome to DirecTV where the salesman is sales kid who lies without regard to the lives he affects, and if you want the channels initially asked for it's a higher price. When it rains do you have to worry about because you don't have any TV. So welcome to the home of DirecTV where we treat you like family, we lie to you, charge you more and give you nothing when it rains. The contract seems to be one-sided, it's all for them nothing for the consumer.

    I signed up with DIRECTV in 2014, and thought I was locked into a two year contract. What I didn't know is the 2nd year, they've made me renegotiate my contract (price) every 6 months. Raised my price 6 months ago and now raising the price again. To get out of the contract I have to pay them $20 per month for the next 6 months. They were not honest and tell me upfront what a hassle it was going to be to get a price fix. Instead I have to call and argue with them about the raises. I'm not happy with the way they do business with their clients. I have few channels and they want to raise the price every 6 months. Not what I thought I was signing up for. I will not recommend them to others.

    I was a loyal customer for two years. Then became ill and was in and out of the hospital for many months so I wasn't able to work and had to give up something. DirecTV was one of those. Just recently was released to go back to work, got my first paycheck and trying to catch up on all my bills. Looked at my account and have a pending charge for $475 dollars which has made my account negative so my rent bounced and now I am being evicted, me and my son. Tried talking to several reps from DirecTV explaining my situation. There wasn't anything they could do but refund a $125. OK great but rent is $395 and I can't even buy groceries now.     Every time it is overcast or drizzling lightly and, of course, storms I have interference with my television receiving channels. I always receive channels 2-48 no problem, because they are local. I called DirecTV about the 771 code. The diagnostic test meant my satellite needs to be realigned and I would have to pay for a tech to come out and realign the satellite. This is their equipment, not mine, but I have to pay to have them realign the satellite.

    In addition, I am turning Directv off in about 10 days since I am moving. I told the rep that I am "not paying" for a tech to come out especially when I'm moving. But as this is their equipment, why should I have to pay for them to fix it? I was told I could get a $25 discount for the tech to come out, leaving a $25 bill. Three times I had to tell the rep that I am moving in about 10 days, why would I pay for a tech to come out. That's the best Directv could do. Really? Do you think I would continue with this company when I find a new place? I have noticed that with the pricing and lack of customer support, Directv is becoming Time Warner Cable. Getting a little too big for their britches.

    I signed up for DirecTV with an introductory price offer. After six months I was going to be away for an extended period, called and suspended my account for a total of 6 months. While suspending the account I was assured the promotional price would also be suspended. I was told the promotional price would apply when re-activating the account. Complete dishonest lies. Received my bill now totalling over $217.00 for one month. When I called the first agent acknowledged that the promotional price should hold over until re-activation. Supervisor got on the line and was responding with pre-written responses and indicated no one should have made that promise. Very deceitful business/billing practices. Unfortunately I am locked into a two year commitment. When the contract expires, my account will be cancelled.

    Directv is the best cable company. They do have a minor things that were easily dealt with through customer service. The remote controls on their website, says that they have backlit buttons. After ordering the remote I was made aware that they no longer sell the backlit remote. 15 minutes with customer service and it was taken care of. I would suggest they take off the backlit remotes on their website if they no longer sell it.

    The first installer who came out on Saturday, May 28th, came into my then empty townhome, and said it couldn't be done and I would have to use Bright House. The following Monday I called back in to DIRECTV, explained the situation to a representative, and he chose the master installer who came out on May 31st. This installer was excellent, told me it could be done and had the system installed in about 3 hours. I am a long time customer of AT&T since I worked for them for 10 years. It was my first job out of college. I had seen not less than 8 dishes in this neighborhood and so I knew the job could get done. Thank you for the great installer I finally got. He was amazing!

    In Southern Texas we were hit with strong storms and last Sunday morning our house was hit by lightning which destroyed all house electronics including the whole DIRECTV boxes and antenna as well. When called for service I was given 12 to 4pm on 06/03/2106 appointment. While a week away due to circumstances it was OK. So I took the day off work ,waited... no show. Called the appointment call center that I obtained when they called me twice to verify the appointment. I was told the service call was changed to 9th of June, 2016. When I asked who did that I was told "We don't know." That is what is now!!! I requested a supervisor who seemed very pleasant and agreed BUT can't do nothing about it. All I got was "I will try but no guarantees." What kind of service is this? Obviously they can get away with it because of their size. Poor customer service and even better yet NO SERVICE.

    We had service with DirecTV and for four months, they upgraded service without authorization. They stated that we added the services. The Spanish channel was one of the things added and neither of us speak Spanish. After four months of dealing with an incorrect bill, we canceled our service. Now, they are charging $280.00 for early cancellation fee. We canceled because we were tired of spending hours on the phone trying to get the bill corrected. Of course the next month, same thing.     Due to the fact that the HOA would not allow me to install a dish, over Memorial Day weekend I had to cancel the installation. The first night on Sunday, May 29, I called and spoke to a wonderful young man who is as very helpful. The following evening May 30, I received the automated message about the installation for the next morning being between 8 AM and 12 PM. Apparently my order of cancellation the night before did not go through. However I immediately made another call, spoke to a young lady and this time the order of cancellation went through.     I do not have an account with DirecTV and never have. I helped out a friend pay their bill (who paid me back), but did not authorize DirecTV to save my information. That friend fell behind months later and DirecTV took all the money they owed from me. I called customer service and they told me I had to fill out a payment dispute. I do not have an account with DirecTV and money was wrongfully stolen from my account. (They were not supposed to hold my information.) I never signed their customer agreement. They will not refund my money stating that it is part of the customer agreement. Yet, you have to be a customer to agree to the customer agreement and I am not. So bad review here. Lesson learned. My lawyer has been contacted for both parties. I am not satisfied.

    I was a loyal customer with DirecTV for a couple of years. I recently called to have my services disconnected and break the contract, and I wanted to know how much it will cost to break contract. Shawn my representative led me to believe that it would be at least $450 to break contract. He told me, I wasn't a loyal customer and in fact I wasn't even a customer because I had suspended my account for 6 months; and I had been late a month out of the two years. He told me I was using the military as an excuse to break my contract; mind you the entire time this ** knew I wasn't even under a contract. I asked for his last name, he refused to give me that. I asked for a manager, he refused to give me that. This guy was yelling at me, I was sooo furious.

    Here's my thing. I contacted DirecTV corporate office, while Erica showed concern for the way I was treated, I believe that this behavior is accepted. They will harass the hell out of you and misled you. Just like I told Shawn the **, you will not be successful treating people like ** for no reason. I would never recommend DirecTV to anyone nor would I support anything DirecTV is involved in. You guys are the lowest of the low to allow your company employees to behave like this.

    I have had Directv since they were Primestar. I have never had any problems with requiring service on my system. Lost satellite connection on one of my units, called service and got 90 minutes of them trying to sell me a service protection plan for $7.99 per month, or it was going to cost $50 to send out a technician. Finally had enough and requested a supervisor. 40 minutes later, finally get a supervisor, who apologizes for the mistake (my plan has no charges for repairs). HEY AT&T, when I call for service, I want service, not some Robo script reader trying to sell me packages I don't need or want. For the record, I have never had any problems with technicians. They have all been friendly, helpful and easy to work with.

    I was a DirecTV customer and paid my contract out early, back in January 2016. I received a promo a few months ago in the mail for the $19.99 special on the Select Plan and decided to contact them about the promo special. I thought maybe they want me back as a customer, so I contacted them. I was told that due to paying my contract out early, I would be forwarded to re-connect and would not qualify for the advertised promo offers that had been mailed out to me. I found out that not only would I not qualify for the promo offer, but that my rate would be about twice as much as the advertised price and that they could not offer me the special pricing until my contract period was up, even though I paid it! So, I was penalized twice!! Once for the cancellation fee, and twice for the high monthly rate to come back! Way to go DirecTV, you know how to win your past customers back!!

    Do NOT sign up for DirecTV!!! They are unethical and are all about money!! They lure new customers in with low rates then don't tell you that they WILL raise your bill whenever they please! My bill has gone up about $20 in the last 6 months and there is nothing I can do other than wait for my contract to end or pay $200 to cancel my contract. Every time I call DirecTV they repeat themselves, sell other products, and tell you to refer other people to DirecTV. They do not care about their customers as they read from scripts and are unwilling to help keep their customers. Yes their TV programming is great, but the service goes out in the rain, you are stuck on the phone with them for an average of an hour no matter what you are calling about, they make their customers do all the work when it comes to troubleshooting, and they are liars and they overcharge!     I went to upgrade my cellphone from AT&T store. The sales person offered me DirecTV, said they have the best service and packages going on. At that point I was convinced to purchase the highest package including cameras, motion sensors etc,. We had set a date and time for setup & installation. I took off from work, my appointment was from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm just waiting and waiting then there was a message on my cell phone stating that the installers are arriving between 9:20 & 10:20 am so I started cleaning the area outside. At 10:15 am AT&T / Direct TV van went slowly in front of my house and the person just kept on going. I thinking what the hell!

    Went in the house, called DirecTV and the dispatch said he was there. I explained, "He passed by but that's it". He then went on describing my house, color, door & number location. It was all OFF! The dispatch person then said I will look into it, was going to give me some compensation of 150.00 off my bill and call back in an hour for someone to come down.     I have never had such bad service from DirecTV for as long as I have had the service since 2004. I upgraded to Genie and now am in a contract till 2018. I have no service and I have to wait a week for a technician, and customer service person(s) including a supervisor (Daniel **) said "well that's all we can do". A prior customer service person said I would get a month free. Daniel said if is not in the notes he could not do that. Ever since I've done this the service has been terrible. I've spoken with numerous people today again and when I asked for 6 months free service for ALL of the issues I have been having since getting the Genie. When I said that the customer service person forwarded my call to AT&T Cell Phone Collections, really? Now my call is escalated and I have to wait for a call.     I called in regards to reactivating my account with DirecTV. I was transferred over to a specialist by the name of Paige. From the very beginning of the conversation she was very rude and disrespectful. She was in fact the most unprofessional person I have ever spoken to. After explaining the situation to her about my last conversation I had with one of her colleagues a few months back about suspending my service because of an out of state move she began to get offensively impolite and ill mannered. She explained the issue to me in regards of why the account wasn't suspended in an ill manner way.

    At this point without getting irritated and keeping my calm I asked her to transfer me to her collections dept so I can figure the issue out. She unwillingly told me she wasn't going to transfer me because there was nothing to be done. At this point I was getting agitated but nevertheless did I disrespect nor raise my calm tone of voice whereas she literally was screaming without any care through the other line.

    I asked her to please transfer me back to the department who had originally taken my call. She said she can't so I asked her to put me through to another rep. She didn't place me on hold but had me on the line waiting for nothing. She didn't hang up nor transfer me, I had to disconnect the call. Im disappointed that Directv allows their employees to speak to a customer in such an unethical manner. If I'm giving them this bad review its because of their employee Paige, no other reason.

    On 5/28/2016 I received an automated call on my cell phone plus an e-mail telling me to call and schedule my installation. When I attempted to do so I was asked could I schedule Monday May 30. I said, "No". Then the system asked what date would work and I replied June 2nd. The system asked 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. When I said 8:00-12:00 the system came back with, "8:00 to 9:00, is this correct?" When I said, "no" it said this appointment is taken. This continued until finally the system said it would transfer me to an attendant. When this was attempted I was disconnected. This continued for one hour until I finally was connected. Very frustrating.

    On May 28, 2016 I contacted DirecTV customer service to understand the charges on my bill. I challenged portion of the charges under "Other Charges, Adjustments & Taxes" line for $46.25. My question seemed simple enough: why was I still being charged for services that had been cancelled a month ago? I couldn't get a clear answer. I spent two hours on the phone. During these two hours I spoke to two representatives and a supervisor. The first agent put me on hold for about 10 minutes to get my information on the screen. Then going back and forth, the agent finally transferred me to a second agent. I waited another 20 minutes to be transferred because the lines were busy. The second agent confirmed my identity, but then could not provide a clear answer to my simple question. I was baffle.

    After 10-20 minutes of going back and forth with no clear explanation I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was put on hold for 40 minutes. I didn't get impatient. I just wanted to talk to someone and hear if they could tell me why was I paying $46.25? What items were charged? Finally, the supervisor came to the phone, and once again, the agent turned into circle. No answers were provided. Why am I giving DirecTV a 1 rating - it would have been -10 if I could. I left my previous provider because I was not satisfied with them and switched to DirecTV. So far it's been a disaster. I'm paying twice what I used to pay for half the services I used to have. My review is for anyone who is considering DirecTV. Please think twice before going to them or switching your provider. It is not worth it.

    We switched to Dtv as cable was unavailable. The only demand feature on cable was excellent. Dtv was supposed to be better. I've been able to watch on demand maybe a handful of times over the last year! It's slow when it works and there's nothing "on demand" about it. If you're lucky enough where the feature even works, I've waited up to an hr or more to view the entire show. If trying to access more than one program, it might be overnight before I can view. Piece of crap! Regular tv locks up constantly or is unwatchable. Very irritated over the performance. Don't get me started about the cost. Dtv should be ashamed.

    My concern with DirecTV is with their follow through. I have gotten nowhere - insects phone calls with trying to get my service started. Every phone call has lasted 45 minutes to an hour and a half with no satisfaction. My other concern is the fact that every phone call I have had to pay more money for service and lose time from work with no pay and all I get is "we're sorry ma'am." I'm very upset with the inconsistent information being given me to get service started and I have been at this for over 6 weeks. This is ridiculous and to also be told that there is no compensation for my inconvenience or lots of money with the feast that I continue to pay to try to get my service reinstated.

    If all customers were treated this way no one would have service and Direct would probably be out of service. As of tonight I still have no service, have spent money that I have not been reimbursed and all I get is "let's set you up with another technician who hopefully can service you correctly this time." It's too bad companies like this don't take their customers seriously.

    I'm am so unhappy with the reception of DirecTV. I have had it for less than 30 days and have lost signal 9 times that I'm aware of. I'm not even home that much, just a few hours in the evening and weekends. I complained and they did come to check it but told me it was all good. I should expect to loose signal when it rains. Wait, wait, wait!!! What? That's when I need signal the most. No more snuggling up on a rainy day. No way to watch news when there are floods and tornadoes to watch out for. Ugh!!!     I tried to ask DirecTV for lower payments, they could only bring my package down 30.00. I still cannot afford this. So on, May 27th I called to cancel my services. I have recently become unemployed and I explained this to the customer service department of DirecTV. Last year they sent me an equipment upgrade at no charge. I was given this because I had been with them for so many years. Today when I called to cancel I was told would be charged $472.56 for canceling. I explained to the company that I lost my job and ASKED if there was anything they could do to help me. They said no. Not even willing to accept my 1/2 payment of the $472.56.

    It was humiliating enough to ask for the help due to my current employment situation. But to grovel to ask them to compromise with me and help me - that was worse. No one would listen. I have since put a stop payment on my account through my bank, simply because I do not have 472.00 to spare. I will be sending DIRECTV back their equipment within the next 7 days.

    During the middle of a Western Conference finals game a message popped up on my screen saying "No Wired Connection found." After resetting the mini genie box several times I decided to call the 1-800 # for help. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes or more I was put through to a customer service rep whose first language was obviously not English. After following the steps that she was reading from a script I was told that I would need to have a new receiver sent to me in 3-5 days. I told her that the receiver was only 7 months old. After being on the phone with her for 59 mins and 12 seconds I gave up and resigned myself to the fact that I would not have cable TV for the next 3-5 wet and rainy days. I decided to try one thing that was not in her script, pull the input cable from the back of the receiver box and attach again after a few seconds. AMAZING! IT WORKED!!!

    Her script kept telling me to unplug the receiver and plug back in after 10 seconds. Unplug to me means the plug that goes to an electrical outlet so that's what I did. I called back and told the next customer service rep to cancel my order for a new receiver and to change the script that is given to their "technical support" help to include disconnecting (not unplugging) the input cable on the back of the receiver. I told him it would save many customers like me who are not tech savvy a lot of headaches and frustrations. I didn't tell him this but it would also make the technical support not look so stupid.
