The sales person knew the product line. The installation tech was awesome. He had everything working in no time flat in over 90 degree heat.

Tech came out and said trees were in the way for signal, but up the time of getting Direct, I had Dish and was getting good reception. He left and came back three days later after I called him and his supervisor several times and only took pictures. The next day I called DirecTV and I'm set up for Installation on 7-2-2016. Thank you DirecTV.

My installation for DirecTV was scheduled a week in advance for June 27th between 8:00 am-12 noon (I have confirmation email and confirmation voicemail to prove it). Nobody showed up in my house or called me, and when I called 4 times during the day they kept saying to wait because they were on their way. I missed a day of work waiting for nothing.
After the 5th call I made at 7:00 pm they finally realized nobody was coming so they made the appointment for Tuesday. Someone showed up but didn't have the correct ladder to go on the roof so he left. They made another appointment for today and again I didn't go to the office and waited for them. I received a call saying they would be here between 1:20-1:50 pm. It's 4:20 pm and nobody came, again I called twice and they said they were on their way. I just called for the 3rd time and now said it's for tomorrow (There is no access to the roof on weekends). How can they change dates without my permission and have me here. What kind of game is this? I am furious. I missed 2 days of work and now they don't even know when they are going to make it. I have been without TV for 2 weeks.

I talked to the Philippines, India, Texas, and Florida representative. Very frustrating. But I must say the representatives from Florida Surae and Shay were the friendliest and willing to accommodate our needs to provide us with thought we were needing.

Ordered then canceled order for DirecTV - When I got home and read the small print I realized that I cannot commit to a two year contract. My husband has health issues and I don't know what will happen in the next two years. My order and cancelling my order were both easily accomplished. If I was sure we will be here for two more years, I would have had it installed.

The original installer Jason that came out Tues was very unprofessional. After calling to complain, DirecTV gave me a credit for all the inconvenience. They had to reschedule for Thurs morning and I asked for a Senior tech, Sam. The senior tech installed with no issues whatsoever! Very professional and was very understanding. I would definitely give him 10 stars and as for DirecTV also a 10. Thank you.

DirecTV service is very clear as to the cables and connections needed for an installation via documents available on the Internet. U-verse was not so clear. I have had at least 4 visits from U-verse techs to install their TV service with no success because of different issues identified each time. All of the U-verse techs (except one) were superb and the last one outstanding. If the satellite connection works, DIRECTV will be the perfect solution for our TV needs.

The tech took the time to explain how DIRECTV worked and also let me know when service could be interrupted. He also agreed with me that a mild shower should not cause interruption of service. If DIRECTV proves inadequate then there are other options available to me.

I highly recommend against attempting to purchase or buy DirectTv. This is the 3rd time I have tried to have it installed and their contracted installers fail every time!! The first 2 times they didn't have enough cable boxes. The 3rd time they didn't even show up or call to inform me after confirming twice. I then wasted 1 hour of time on the phone with their customer service without a resolution. I can't recommend against trying to buy DirectTv. Don't waste your time or money!

My first appointment for DirecTV service was cancelled by you, due to some type of family emergency with the technician/salesperson. My rescheduled appointment was cancelled after the technician arrived due to miscommunication about wanting wireless TV. I called to reschedule and inquire about the $100 fee, and the rep was very accommodating.

Installing technician Nate arrived at appointment on time. After checking possible locations of dish for best reception of signal, installation was completed in professional manner. After getting dish mounted in best location, Genie receivers were set up in three rooms connecting two tvs and an HD projector. Pictures on all three are great! After install completed Nate helped us understand features of system and how to use remote controls to watch and record programs. Very satisfied with install, equipment and picture quality.

Very pleased with the package deal I received. For the price and deal that I am getting with DirecTV it was worth changing my current provider that I have had for nearly 30 years. I am willing to try you guys for the 2 years and price you quoted me on that will be locked for that time.

I called 1-800-Directv (347.3289). A man answered, said his name was John, and when I told him that channel 12 KVOS and 366 JLTV were flashing in such a manner that I could not view my shows due to the flashing channels caused seizures for me. The man went off on we need to pay him $100.00 for a service plan. We have a service contract with Directv, he said we did not and would not let his sales pitch go. It became very abusive almost like a debt collector. I must say I lost it... As a CSR myself I know customer service and he failed every lesson I ever learned.
When I couldn't get him to shut up about the service contract and deal with the issue I was calling about I simply hung up. When I upgraded the TV to whole home DirecTV sent out a new hire that didn't know what he was doing like most new hires. I was promised they would come back when they figured out the codes to make the remote work. To this day I'm still using two remotes to turn the TV. I am so sorry... When DirecTV took over Comcast the service was less-than-stellar and now that AT&T has taken over... well their customer service has gone to heck in a basket. I'm looking for another provider... Nobody should be jury-rigged around and continue to pay full price. I'm so done.

Switching over to DirecTV from AT&T U-Verse with the promotions that DirecTV were offering would have been excellent for my budget. However I was unable to go through with the installation because apartment restriction and no line of connection. I will attempt to go DirecTV again the next time I move.

Shelby was able to get my install rescheduled and moving ahead with the line of site issues we were having at our new home regarding the HD dish. We kept the SD Dish, installed a SD receiver. I understand that new customers cannot get SD, but in some cases that is the ONLY solution for folks!

If DirecTV calls and offers you a package for being such a "Loyal customer," don't fall for it. They supposedly "gave" me the Starz package for being such a " Loyal & Good Paying Customer." When I looked at my bill, I was being charged $29.95 a month for it. These kind of practices should be illegal.

HELP ME!!! I've been on hold for over 45 minutes now and all I want to do is cancel my DirecTV. I've been a loyal customer, moved to a new address, was re-assured that I can take my DVR with me, got the new installation at new home and cannot apparently take my new DVR with me. They did NOTHING to help me transfer my DVR content over and have been double charging me for 2 months now.
All I want to do is to please cancel JUST ONE account. I'm being charged for TWO!! I would love some help and would love if someone could just answer the phone at Customer Support 1(800) 531-5000 and PLEASE CANCEL MY ONE SERVICE. I'm so frustrated and sad and wish I could get off the phone, but the last thing I need is for them to keep charging me TWICE. Please help me - if anyone can give any advice on how to get to Customer Support faster, any assistance would be greatly appreciated!! PLEASE. I wish they weren't a monopoly and I had options, but oh well. Welcome to America. FML.

I just moved into a new home. We called for DirecTV to install their product. The installer said the best place to put up the dish would be on the roof. Everything looked ok until a few days later. To my concern the gutter on my roof was slightly bent from the installer's ladder. With the expansions and contraction of the gutter a giant bend occurred. Called to place a claim they sent a supervisor out to check things out. He called me a liar and refused to pay claim. They said they asked the installer and he said he never touched the gutters. I asked them, Have they ever of had children. They always tell the truth. I am now out $800.00 in repairs. BEWARE OF DIRECTV INSTALLERS. AT&T really don't care about customer relations.

I am going to recommend DirecTV to my friends and family members because they surely beat my local cable TV provider. The packages are fairly priced and I can watch quality television without sacrificing my first born child. My local cable company was putting the squeeze on my wallet without providing quality channels.

I live in central Florida. If we have a storm, my TV goes out. Today, the TV's are working, but it's stuck on one channel. Can't get service for two days. The technician that set me up was great, but I haven't been happy since. When my contract is up. I'll be switching back to Brighthouse. They have great service.

The DirecTV equipment caused roofing damage which in turn caused water to leak through into my ceiling. When I called DirecTV to inform them of this, they said they could do nothing. I do NOT recommend DirecTV, be wary of their equipment. They wouldn't even do the courtesy of removing the equipment so that I may repair the damage myself. I am taking this to the Better Business Bureau.

My 1 yr contract is up less than 2 months away. I had good service until part of the contract wasn't honored. First, when I signed up I finally got my first bill 2 months after with a huge bill. Second, I checked my monthly bill yesterday with a rep and find out my bill sky rocketed >$30. In order to keep my bill low I have to remove my HBO and Starz channels. Those channels were free in the contract for 1 year! I argued with the rep trying to explain my bill shouldn't increase until after my contract expires. Third, they like to bill you 1 month in advance and expect you to pay for it! They have a great ponzi scheme to lock customers in: produce a 2 month bill you get in the mail when you sign up including a 1 month advance bill on top of it, on purposefully cancel your free premium before contract expires, and they charge you 1 month in advance. Customers beware!

I called to cancel HBO, Showtime, etc. 3 days before 90 days and was told to call back on the 2nd to cancel. I did, but they still billed for it. Service is HORRIBLE!! Goes out when neighbor farts! I'm on the floor constantly resetting boxes. 6 days of raining, NO service! Lots of channels, most are pay channels or infomercials. Sound goes in and out. Customer circus will lie about everything. I never signed anything other than the equipment was installed (INSTALLER SUCKED, leaving a mess of empty boxes, cable pieces, wires, plastic wrap all over the yard). Now, they say I signed a year's contract, but can't produce one. Don't expect good service, professional installation, or the truth in anything.

The experience with service from setting up DirecTV service in the AT&T store to talking with Customer Representative on the phone and having the Technician at the house setting up the system was very stress-free. Everyone I dealt with was very professional and took time to respond to my questions with appropriate answers. I called DirecTV because I was not getting all the channels all the time. Some would come and go at different times of the day. The Tech came out and said the the dish needed adjustments but he didn't climb on the roof... Really? Well we found a quick 4fix...call the competitors. From a customer of over 10 years.

I will consider DirecTV in the future. AT&T could only bundle TV+Phone for the Fayetteville area. I would like to have the internet included. I was told that is only available in Raleigh area. I would try CenturyLink again, but they don't have customer help on Saturday/Sunday if your service goes on the blink. We had Prism TV at that time and not DirecTV. Thank you.

Technician came to house and knocked. Dog barked and my wife answered the door and nobody was there. Either he left too soon or did not hear the dog or did hear the dog and he left too soon. The dog is a miniature poodle. We were home. He reported nobody home. Should have knocked again. Stay longer. Customer service resolved the problem. New appointment on Monday. Thank you.

They lie, never give you what you sign up for and customer service is horrible along with install if you love 50 ft of cable cord strung through apartment. Had a 2 year with them. Bad signal and now lost local channels and then they blame the local tv. Had to call them like 10 times for same thing. Had them set appointments 2 times for service calls and then they no show and I call in about that and how for months I have had glitchy service and screen freeze.
They don't seem to care and when I call they act like 'oops' and never do anything. Last 2 reps didn't understand anything and when I said I wanted to cancel they are like "it will cost you 150 for a cancel fee", and I said "nope I am out of contract". And they go "nope we extended it to get you a cheaper discount on package", and I said "NO I NEVER AGREED to that", and they said "well you have to". I repeat DO NOT GET DIRECTV!!! They will hose you on everything and they give new customers more help than a 2 year old customer. Horrible.

Called CenturyLink for internet and home phone service and they told me about Directv and connected me with a very polite/knowledgeable/professional salesman that made making choices easy. If anything could have went better it would have been the time waiting on the install, but well worth the wait.

We purchased a new TV through Costco. We also wanted to sign up with DirecTV however I did not realize that a satellite dish had to be installed to receive the service. DirecTV was less expensive than our present provider and offered more options. The salesperson at Costco never mentioned the need to install a dish and I did not ask. We live in a retirement community that does not allow satellite dishes to be installed so had to cancel service.

I was skeptical about switching to DirecTV but after talking to the rep and going through the whole experience, I can honestly recommend their service. Their bundle with AT&T internet has better features for a lower price than I was paying with my other provider. The process was very easy and we have not noticed any drop in quality of service at all. Our family is very happy we made the switch to DirecTV!

My husband and I were just getting a new phone plan at AT&T - so this is also about AT&T - since they combined forces. The sales guys repeatedly told us that to sign up for DirecTV would only benefit us financially since they give you a credit for signing up (still haven't seen this promised $800.00 credit and it's been 6 months). We now owe DirecTV hundreds of dollars. They charge you a couple hundred dollars to install - and if you move they charge you again. They don't tell you about all of these fees - in fact they told us if we got insurance then we wouldn't have to pay for the installation fee again. It costs us a fortune every month and even though we don't watch TV - there are only like 10 channels that are actual channels - the rest are telemarketers or straight **. We are highly disgusted with both DirecTV and AT&T for their dishonesty and misleadings.
To cancel is hundreds of dollars so that you're stuck, and to ever discuss a problem with either company on the phone takes hours and gets you nowhere. They don't care about their customers and they suck. Some of the phone people have been very kind, but they just aren't able to help us. It's extremely frustrating. Stay away from them. Also if you use all of your data up on your phone they don't ask you if you want more, they just send you a text saying they automatically charged you $15 more for another gig. They seriously suck. Go with another phone service and another TV service. Seriously.

I have had this service for 10 months with nothing but problems! I had a tech come out and I've called. We lose at least one TV connection 4 times a week. My husband has to adjust the satellite constantly or have no TV and wait a week for a tech to come out. Clean snow off the dish. You can't watch more then 3 TV'S without the main one on... These are just some of the continuing issues. Just problem after problem. Now I want to cancel and they want to charge me $280.00. Guess what, at this point I'll pay the 280 but I will make sure they lose more than that in business... social media gets the word around. Don't get DIRECTV - they don't care about you!!

I have one TV not working properly but there is a technician scheduled for Saturday 6/25 and I will let him resolve problem. I believe the installer failed to check second TV to make sure it was working properly.

The original request was done through Exede where they failed to tell me that two different installers would come to my residence. The DirecTV installer was lazy and just didn't want to do the job (Roy). The Exede installer who is a contractor for various services including DirecTV showed me the clear access to the DirecTV HD axis. The DirecTV representative who scheduled my upcoming Saturday call was perfect. Kind, professional, thorough and very apologetic.

Please be careful if you are looking into being a DirecTV customer. They are only good trying to rail you in as customer, but refused to help you when you are calling them regarding your issues. They will transfer you around and you will get nowhere. They overcharge you as well. They overcharged me and didn't even noticed until the day I cancelled my account and went back and look at my bills. I have been with directv since 2007 to 2016 and I regret it so much giving them my loyal customer services. I am now with comcast and I love it. Stay away from directv. They are pure evils and money hungry and eat. They don't care about customer but making money off customers.

I used to LOVE Directv then AT&T took over. I used to have the MLB package. I cancelled it over a year ago. I noticed I was still getting charged for it. I have called each month to get it removed from my bill. Each time the rep says, "I have removed it and I will credit your account." The next month I get my bill and THEY CHARGE ME AGAIN. I repeat the cycle. Today, I called and they said they will give me a credit for the $28.99 for the MLB package. I say "what about the previous 12+ months?" They say (after waiting several minutes on the phone), "all we can do is give you a $10.00 credit on top of the MLB one month credit." HUH? They are stealing money from customers. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Sooo frustrating.

DirecTV cuts out eveyday multiple times, had boxes replaced twice so far. Press fast forward and it rewinds. They say it's a glitch. They replaced our box. No our hdmi 1 don't work. They said for me to take my tv in and get it looked at. It was working fine before they changed our box. Very dissatisfied with their equipment and services.

I'm not a customer to usually spends the time to write a bad review. Mainly due to the fact that a lot of people take advantage of this to get discounts and free stuff from companies but, in this case I had to and here is why. I called DirecTV on 06/19/16 and spoke with a rep by the name of Trevor. He gave me good information about the packages and was patient but he also LIED TO ME about a few things. I had told him that I needed a wireless receiver for my newly remodeled living room and also that I needed two Spanish channels which were Telemundo and Univision on my package. He said if I were to open an account with him today I would be getting these wireless receivers for FREE and all I had to pay was a shipping fee of around 19.99+ tax.
As far as the Spanish channels go he said I could get a package of 7.99 which had both of those included, but he said that "I had to call back and add those on because, he was not able to do it right there for me." I thought it was weird but, I said that was fine - I can call back. I then double checked the entire order about 3 times repeating back to him what he had originally told me which, I had written down. He confirm this to me three times. I also apologized for repeating this to him and stated that previously cable providers had lied to me about what they so much promise just to get an account open and he SAID THIS WAS NOT THE CASE.
Anyways I let him go and called back the following day to add my Spanish channels and reconfirm my order and installation but, I come to find out that Trevor had LIED. The Spanish channels I wanted were on a 14.99 package not the 7.99 package so, then I had to rearrange my packages due to this and unfortunately had to give up on my FREE TRIAL FOR THE NFL TICKET which would have been nice to try. By the way the reason why I had to downgrade is because I had told Trevor I was willing to merge my internet with AT&T so that I could get their 24mo price guarantee but, I also mentioned I had one condition - my internet and cable had to stay at the budget I had for both and according to that budget we got the TV packages.
Now because of the channel package lie I find myself downgrading and losing but I said "ok no problem, I don't need to watch football - it's nice but not necessary." HERE COMES THE PART THAT PUT THE ICING ON THE CAKE when I once again confirmed that I was getting the wireless receivers I needed and that TREVOR SO MUCH PROMISED. They told me that I wasn't, they said my package included basic wired equipment and that if I wanted to get the wireless I had to pay around $100.00. I then explained the situation and the rep said he was going to talk to someone about it. Long story short he said he was sending Trevor's call to "quality control" since he had lied and what I had to do if I wanted the wireless system was pay $100.00 out my pocket but he said my account was going to get a credit of $100.00 for the next month’s bill.
I then had to think about it because now it's $121.00 I was not prepared to spend but I said "Ok that's fine." The clerk himself wasn’t very professional and kept on calling me bro instead of sir and at minute 39 of our conversation he was getting frustrated at the system and said what I would had never expected to hear from a customer service representative he said “WHAT THE **.” Yes this was live and recorded, keep in mind I had the Bluetooth hooked up in the car and my 9 year old stepdaughter was in it. I could not believe it but, anyways I was so done with that call that all I wanted to do was continued the call and finish the process as soon as possible.
After the call was done called AT&T and got my internet package as promised and just when I THOUGHT IT WAS ALL DONE, I WAS WRONG. I check my bank account and now I have a charge of 21.99 on 6/19 and a charge of 128.54 on 6/20 a total of about 150.00 which almost overdrafts my account. I guess is a good thing I checked before making my monthly card and bill payments. I then had to spend another 25 mins talking to someone about this and they said I was charged twice for the installation and that I was going to be refunded $25.00 back to my account but that it would take anywhere from 3 to 5 business days to go through.
I'm currently waiting to get my refund and I'M SERIOUSLY thinking about canceling my order but after all the trouble and 3 days in a row at about 2 ½ to 3 hours in total of time spent on the phone dealing with this, it's the only reason that is making me think so deep and hard about it. If you ask me save your time and money and please make sure you speak with a manager and get their full name and info before committing. I'm already disappointed with DIRECTV and I haven't even started using the company.

I ordered satellite service for my home and they tell me they will be here between 12-4 to install what will take 3 hrs so I'm stuck home all day long waiting on them to show up. 5 o'clock rolls around and still no one.. I'll call to find out what's going on and they say the tech claimed to have the wrong address and that it's also wrong in the system. They proceed to tell me that the package I set up was incorrect and that they also have to open a new account with the correct address and RE run my credit and all my info again. Along with all that bs they tell me that now I do have to pay a deposit and the package is more than told me in the beginning. I'm not happy with my Time Warner because their bill is extremely outrageous but I'll just stick with them rather than deal with all the bs from AT&T/direct TV .

I have had DirecTV for a number of years. The service was amazing especially compared to Dish Network. But since AT&T has taken it over it's really gone downhill fast! Service shuts down unable to stream. When I record programs it only records half of them. Very disappointing. Looking into Dish Network!

Last year I contacted WEConnect in Lincoln, Maine for DIRECTV service. We wasted two weeks at camp going down to the message phone waiting for the installation. Never happened! This spring contacted secretary at WEConnect and left 7 written messages. NEVER CONTACTED ME BACK! I was very frustrated and decided to call DIRECTV directly which I did!!! In less than two weeks, we had DIRECTV installed at the cottage. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I have had AT&T UVERSE and Time Warner, but I have been most dissatisfied with DirecTV. There are normal complaints such as losing your service during a storm and their relation with AT&T for internet service. However, I was looking forward to ending the contract at the end of the first year. It is not going to happen. Their contract is for 2 years. The cancellation fee is $15 and $20 per month for the remaining months on the contract. By remaining with them we are losing $30 per month in discounts. Therefore there is no real savings in doing business with them. My plan is go with Time Warner for internet only. I can get 300 megabits per second for $70 per month and then turn to Hulu for television at $7 per-month. That would be about half of the other three prices.

I was scheduled for installation between 8am to 2pm yesterday June 17. Installer called to notify me he will be in 5pm if okay with me so I okayed it. The guy didn't come in until much later and installation began at around 9pm. It went up to almost 2am today and still wasn't finished so he came back. Said he will be in 10am but arrived 10:35am. The guy was quite nice so I let it go although I was getting furious and wanting so much to cancel the job. Let's see what happens. Right now I can't tell the quality of the outcome.

This is Our 2nd time obtaining cable/tv services with them. The 1st time using them far exceeded my expectations on the quality of service we received from them. Once we moved 7 years ago, I had to cancel my services due to property regulations. Lord knows I didn't want to switch carriers but, I had no choice! Now that we transferred units, I jumped on the chance to switch back, without ANY hesitation! I called them immediately! As usual I received the courtesy, pleasant, insightful, helpful, knowledgeable and very professional service I've come to love and expect from them! Not to mention that great quality of services you receive!!!

I had DIRECTV for maybe three years. After getting tired of receiver box failures, which meant exchanging for another and losing everything that was saved, I decided to go another route. On June 14, 2016 I called them and asked them to terminate service on June 29th (because my account was paid through that date). They shut off the service on June 15th. I called and insisted they turn it back on because I had paid for it; during the call they tried to charge me $40 to reinstall - and said they would only turn on the Basic Service, and not include the Premium Channels. I told them that I would take my case to "social media" if they didn't restore what I had already paid for immediately. That seemed to work - the service was turned back on.
Tonight I received an email statement trying to bill me $102.87 and saying "Welcome Back!" I will have to be on the phone again tomorrow for probably another half hour to get this stopped. I can't believe the stupidity and horrible customer service from DIRECTV. Oh - and did I mention the three calls from their San Antonio office begging me to come back the day after I cancelled? I had to block the phone number. I'll NEVER do business with this company again.

The first installer arrived at our home told us that he didn't have a pole to put the satellite on. He would go get one but it would cost 75 dollars. He left to go get it and said he would return in the afternoon. Later he called and said the warehouse didn't have a pole and I would have to call DirecTV and reschedule the appointment. I then called customer service which I was told I would have to wait yet another week before I could get service. I was not happy but I asked for a supervisor and together with the supervisor, customer service and dispatch I was able to get service the same day as my original appointment. I wasn't charged 75 dollars and the second installer Jason was awesome.

The installer did an excellent job of getting everything set up, he was very knowledgeable of the product and answered all question without hesitation. I enjoy the TV content and of course the price helps out too. When an issue did arrive in regards to set up the installer knew who to call and got in touch with the right people to resolve my issue. This installer is a contractor but AT&T and DirecTV should really consider making this guy a full time employee. He would really be an assist to your company.

My experience was horrible from day zero, let me explain why: We spent a significant amount of time trying to set the service up. After going back and fort (most of the time speaking to answering machines) finally the installation day was June 2nd.... nothing happened... nobody called to say "I am sorry". So I called them the same day. Again, I spent 45' until a human being answered the call (looks like my time is not worth it). They told me "you need to verify your identity first so call this other number..." (after spending 59'). So I told them: "I did it already, I have an email with a confirmation order dated as June 2nd." So she went back and re-checked and after 20' she set up the service for the next day. So basically you have to chase the company to set everything up and spend a significant amount of time until you speak with someone that actually is clueless about everything. Do you guys forget that I am a CLIENT?
I was only interested mainly in one channel out of 500. I told them several times that that particular channel was the only reason I have contacted DirecTV. But having the prior bad experience with this company I SAW IT COMING.... After they installed everything on June 3rd (not in June 2nd) the channel was not there!!! I called them again, and after 50' a human being again answered. She was totally clueless of what I was taking about, there was no registration of my requirements in my account, she did not know the channel.
After another 20' of non-sense talking she finally added the channel to my account. What happened next??? The signal was so weak that I was not able to see the channel... so they recommended to "cut my tree"??? Seriously? 21st century and the signal is so poor that I have to cut my tree? Besides, of course, I have to pay for it from my pocket. In summary, I don't still have the only channel that I was interested on. DirecTV works as a WEATHER CHANNEL really, even before the storm arrives the signal disappear. Just with a little bit of wind and it is over. So if you are watching a game... be patient.

I had DirecTV for four years while I was in Arkansas. The service during that time was ok. I got a job in Florida, but didn't have a place to live. So before we moved, we put our account on hold. According to DirecTV I had to pay the balance in full before they could put it on hold. So I paid the balance and they put my account on hold until we could find a place to live. Once we found a place to live, it was an apartment and we weren't allowed to have satellite dishes. I called DirecTV and told them that I wanted to close the account which they promptly did. Then after two months I received a bill for $94.00 even after I had to pay the balance in full before suspending the account.
When I called I was told that the reason there was a remaining balance of $94.00 was because they had to turn the account back on from suspended to closed. I didn't use any service but for someone to have to click a few buttons I was charged $92.00. I have called several times since then to complain and try to get this resolved and was repeatedly told there was nothing that could be done. This amount has since been report to the credit bureau. I will never use DirecTV again and I will recommend to everyone I know not to use them and tell them how they treated a customer in good standing for four years.

Let me first say that my usual DirecTV experience was good and I have had in several different homes. However several months ago I received a letter from a collection agency saying I owed $163. This was supposed to be for a house we moved out of spring of 2011... yes 5 years ago. I have had 2 other DirecTV accounts since then. I called the collection agency as well as DirecTV and disputed this and did not hear anything else from them thinking it was cleared up. I just received another letter from the collection agency stated that it had been disputed and had been investigated but I still owed the money. I've spent well over $163 of my time dealing with this and will probably pay it to keep from spending more time dealing with this and to keep it off my credit report even though it's false but I feel like I am paying a ransom. I will never deal with DirecTV again!

When I discontinued services with DIRECTV, I tried to return the equipment and I kept asking for return boxes, I had to request them four times... so I finally got the boxes and I returned them. I received a bill in the mail, saying I owed $500+, so I called and told them I returned it. DIRECTV claim they don't have it (but the collection agency says they do), so someone is not telling truth... then DIRECTV says I have 400+ days to return equipment or they won't credit my account. The many times I called, not one single representative told me about a deadline which is morally wrong. Then a rep said the cutoff date to return was in February then another said March. Lie number two. I should have been given a credit for return fees, 500+ is a lot more than 140+. It is wrong for businesses to take advantage of regular people like myself.

Installation was conducted poorly, equipment never worked consistently, directed to "reset" equipment until a week later finally technician was ordered after many lengthy conversations with customer service (who was always friendly) and I was told to sign up for the 7.99 a mo insurance plan. Aggravated that I need to pay more to get quality service in which I never got in the first place, the new tech found that shocking the 1st install was faulty. After ANOTHER conversation, DirecTV says we will compensate you $25 for your trouble. REALLY??? 6 mo of crappy service (tv shuts off in the last 30 sec of finals last game!!!) type of crappy and they never installed it right in the first place and $25 is suppose to make it all better. Should have NEVER switched from Dish Network of 16 years in the first place! So dissatisfied. Will be switching back as soon as possible.
