Awful customer service. Cannot correct a problem since 12/20. W-2's are on hold. Have tried to get problem resolved (ADP set up a paycode incorrectly), and no one will help. Have been on hold for 2 hours and still no supervisor can help. I find it hard to believe that a supervisor or a Team Leader is not available. Have a service ticket open since 12/20 that seems to be getting passed to another person - now the service team has it, but still no response. I would never recommend this company to a small business. Overpriced for what little they do.
We're very sorry to hear about your experience with service and the lack of progress on this issue. I have located your account and relayed your review to our service leaders and asked them to look into this and reach out.

Working with ADP has been one of the worst experiences I have had with any company. ADP does not have departments that communicate. Do not expect the banking department to speak with the payroll department to ensure your funds are being withdrawn or disbursed correctly. Nor will they attempt to ensure that the calculations across all their reports to be accurate at any time.
If a correction is made to an employee's individual w-2. That correction will not appear on any report. Their 401k department continuously changes agents, and they can do nothing for you as well. A previous employee that has an address listed in Phoenix Arizona has been on my account for years, for which they charge a monthly fee for, because their system seeing it as a foreign address. This company could care less what size company you are as long as they continue to get paid. I hope this company goes bankrupt for their lack of work and customer care. Worst company ever.

If I could rate a 0, I would. As an unfortunate employee enrolled in this payroll service, trying to get this lousy company on the phone is impossible. When you finally get to a queue to get a live agent, forget. You are never getting through.

ADP payroll is worst company when it comes to support, service and technical support. On the website there is presence of sales phone number and chatbot etc. There are not separate phone numbers for technical support, account support etc. You have to go through multiple hoops to get to anyone. Their automated phone waste your time by telling unnecessary info before you make selection for example today it is talking about Martin Luther King Day, W2 and 1099 etc when I did't even need that info and called for technical support. For new client they have lot of people to call/email you day and night to get you sign for services. Once you sign for service then everyone disappears.

The biggest problem I had was with the retirement services. They were very expensive and they were horrible at any communication. I never could get a good explanation of the fees after asking multiple times. No matter how hard we tried I could never get them to deal with my manager so I (the owner) had to deal with all issues with them. When trying to cancel, they would not cancel the retirement until into 2025, making it impossible to switch to another plan rather than a 401 K which I would never do again based on the apparent high fees. The amount deducted monthly for the retirement was way more than the contributions and the matching amounts. And the cancellation fee was over 1000.00 (that is just standard for them they said- it was not an early cancellation fee).
I would also say that ADP fees were ridiculously high as well. After checking into other companies, they are way above others. We have switched to Paychex. So far they have been great. Very communicative (as opposed to ADP). My advice-DO NOT do business with these people. They are too big and just don't care about their customers at all.
We are very sorry to hear about your experience with ADP and our 401k services. We have relayed your feedback to the proper leadership. We thank you for taking the time to provide your experience.

I opened a wine bar, in Spring TX in November 2021. I initially sought payroll help from Paychex and switched to ADP in November 2022. In retrospect, it was a huge mistake. On 4/3/23, I received an IRS notice that ADP filed Form 941 for the 4th quarter of 2022 and Form 944 should have been filed instead. I submitted notice to ADP and received a reply on 4/13/23, they would contact me about the next steps. On 4/20/23, I received an email from ADP indicating they resolved the problem. I received notice from the IRS on about 9/6/24, that I had not filed a 2022 Form 944 tax return. I submitted it online through the ADP portal. I then received an invoice (dated 9/6/24) in the mail (on or about 9/10/24) from ADP that I owed $11,182.06 in taxes for 2022, and they would be debiting my bank account on 9/16/24, for this amount.
I contacted ADP by phone on September 10, 2024, and via email through my account on the ADP portal. I asked for an explanation on how they calculated this amount, and they did not have permission to debit my account until I had documentation to substantiate I owed this money. When I did not get a response, I called ADP back on 9/12/24. I pleaded that I needed to speak to someone regarding this matter. Once again, I stated they did not have permission to debit my account. I never heard a peep from ADP. I contacted ADP on Friday, 9/13/24, to get an email address to where I can send in writing that they were not authorized to debit my account on Monday, September 16, 2024.
I retained counsel, an attorney and CPA to help me resolve my problem as I was getting nowhere with ADP. On Monday, 9/16/24, ADP debited my account for $11,182.08 which was returned NSF. But even worse, this caused my payroll tax deposit for the payroll period ending 9/13/24 to be returned NSF as well. I had to wire the payroll tax deposit on 9/17/24 and it cost me a $30 wire fee. That same week the IRS confirmed I had over 12K in payments, but no tax return to know how to apply the monies. After back-and-forth communication between my attorney and ADP’s attorney, ADP acknowledged they made a mistake and paid the $11,182.08 in error and would now need to apply for a refund with the IRS. ADP “advanced” the payment and then tried to collect from me. They rushed to submit the return without any input from me, as the client.
To add insult to injury, on 10/10/24, I started to process payroll, and I received an error message to contact ADP. I called client services and was transferred twice, and no one could help me. I was told by the third person I spoke to, it was regarding the $11,182.08 that I had not paid to ADP. I was then transferred to a fourth person; she was not available. I emailed ADP about my payroll issue online through the portal. No one ever called back or responded via email. My attorney contacted ADP’s attorney and was able to get the payroll hold lifted in time for me to process payroll. I have incurred thousands of dollars in attorney fees because of ADP’s negligence, failure to timely address my issues, and all-around poor customer service.
My attorney has asked for reimbursement of his attorney fees I paid him, and ADP’s attorney refused stating the terms and conditions of their contract precludes them from paying his attorney fees. My attorney has recommended I file a lawsuit to challenge ADP’s position and sue ADP for breach of contract, breach of warranty, negligence, gross negligence, violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, negligent misrepresentation, fraud, for attorney fees and to request actual and exemplary damages.

ADP has to be the worst payroll service I have ever seen! The fact that this is a company that deals with employer and employee pay and does not have support is unquestionably the worst business model. The company should have direct customer support instead of being cheap! The automated system is an absolute joke and offers no real support. Why are companies like this allowed to get away with this? There should be an oversight committee that they should have to answer for not being vigilant in offering the bare minimum for companies that pay this company. As much money as this company takes in from its consumers and not to offer the very best support tells how disgustingly inadequate this company really is! There are smaller companies that offer way better service for half the cost!
I could not locate an ADP account for you and suspect you are not an ADP client, but rather an employee of one of our clients. In that case, your path for assistance would be with the Payroll or HR team at your company. Your employer should be able to assist with any payroll-related questions or needs - and they can connect with their ADP Service team 24/7 should they need any help from us in supporting you. Please note that ADP is generally not authorized to provide information or direct support to employees of our clients.
I have also sent you an email with this information.

This company will take your money from Your account and then not send payroll checks in a timely fashion. Employee checks then have to be handwritten because it’s not their fault that ADP is completely inept. I now carry two payroll totals on the average of once a month, until ADP decides they will put the money back into my account. This normally takes 5 business days and a minimum of 5 hours on hold. Be prepared to be lied to and hung up on. The employees will think it’s a joke to jerk you around and leave you on hold “until you calm down”. Please, please, please don’t get yourself and your company involved with this bunch of “overseas” thieves.
We're sorry to hear about the frustration these payroll issues have caused. Our team made alternative solutions for the delivery issues and attempted to connect with you multiple times, but never received a response. Please reach out to your ADP Service Team to go over available solutions.

I am being told by my employer that ADP is not working with them to give me my full PTO that I signed an Addendum for when I agreed to work. I can not talk to a human at all when I try to call, no option for this. All I want is what I was told I would get when I agreed to the employment.
You appear to work for a company on ADP's National Accounts platform. I can't think of a reason why ADP would be involved in providing or determining how much PTO you receive, other than via systemic processes. The parameters used by these systems are chosen by your company's leaders.
I will forward your review to the Account Manager of your employer's ADP account. They will partner with the authorized ADP contact(s) for your company to help address your inquiry.
You are correct, ADP does not typically provide direct support to the employees of your employer’s type of account. You should contact your employer’s Payroll or HR leaders with any questions/concerns.

I engaged ADP several years ago for simple payroll services (I am an wholly owned S Corp with quarterly payroll to myself only and no other employees). From the first month of the engagement to date (I terminated my engagement with them almost a year ago) I started receiving (and still receive to date) notices from the IRS and the state government for failure to file the payroll tax returns (part of the ADP service which I paid for) and failure to pay the tax. I have received collection notices, levy notices, warrant notices for the sale of my assets as a result of the failure on behalf of ADP to pay the proper taxes (although they certainly had no trouble debiting those amounts timely from my business account). I have complained all the way up to the CEO, CFO and General Counsel of ADP. I even filed a complaint with the New York State Attorney General.
In response I have received numerous emails from ADP stating that they have resolved the matter but I continue to received notices of default. Clearly ADP is trying to settle the penalties with the state and federal government only to my detriment and to the detriment of my financial landscape. I would avoid this company at all costs. Having been in business for myself and as someone who doesn't normally submit reviews about a company I can safely say that this is the worst customer service experience I have ever had and I find it appalling that a company this large exercises such negligent and frankly fraudulent behavior while causing irreversible damage to a small business owner such as myself. Please avoid ADP if you can. There are dozens of other payroll service providers out there and the company that I am currently using has been perfectly smooth with no issues.

RUN. ADP is the worst system that I have ever used in my 20+ years in HR/Payroll. Over the past year, it has progressively gotten worse. Most of the client representatives will tell you anything and not fix the problem. For the past 2 weeks, I have been talking to the client rep team about a tax withholding issue. Today, I had the pleasure of talking to Brandon (Manager) and Allison (Team Lead) regarding the issue that ADP put a default state in our account that affects the employees' state deduction. I was told that it was a part of a reciprocity agreement with MD and Tennessee. When I told them that Tennessee cannot be a part of the reciprocity and read the states that have reciprocity with MD they basically told me that what is on the MARYLAND COMPTROLLER WEBSITE is wrong.
I have since called the comptroller's office and they have confirmed that I am correct; TN does not have a reciprocity agreement with MD. I also immediately downloaded and sent to Brandon and Allison the two regulations from Maryland that identifies the states that have reciprocity taxes which does not include TN. I have over 50 employees that live in states other than MD that are being charged MD taxes because ADP refuses to fix the problem in their system. We were looking to upgrade with ADP, but that is very unlikely now.

You REALLY NEED TO TAKE MORE PRIDE IN YOUR WORK ETHICS. Getting paid for working is a person’s livelihood, paying rent is something you have to do every month. Hard to do when you don’t get paid correctly. I would NEVER RECOMMEND YOUR COMPANY you must be part of Bidenomics, STEALING FROM PEOPLE TO PUT MONEY IN YOUR POCKET. Waiting 30 days to get an issue fixed is unacceptable, 2 days is unacceptable, it should be taken care of immediately. If it’s that hard for you to figure out then you shouldn’t be on business. A piece of advice would be to stay away from this payroll company. I went to them because I am short staffed and I pay myself a salary which should be easy enough and it was mid-term. Nope. They have sent me 3 W-2 and all of them are incorrect. They charge $72 a month for a service that they put on autopay. Only what I pay them does not add up on my W-2. In fact when I look at what has been deposited toward taxes, nothing. State wants payments quarterly and they decided they didn't have to do that either. Not only when I called about adding my healthcare cost to my W-2 they added it on as income and then took another $2200 out of my account. Said they would get it straightened out but now nobody can see details about that or what the refund is suppose to be. So, they continue to take the same amount of money monthly from my checking account but don't put the money toward taxes and don't know where the money is.
I have sat on hold for over 6 hours today and I continue to get disconnected so needless to say, I have not been able to work. Stay away from the company as I believe there is something fraudulent going on. I have asked for a manager the last three times I call and they hang up instead of answering the call. This is day 5 of calling them and this sure is not worth the headache or time. It's the most unreal thing I have ever seen happen before. I will not be staying with this company and I want to see the money I paid for taxes, paid toward my taxes. I want my reimbursement and I also think I should be reimbursed for my time of trying to sort their mess up. Now I have to get the IRS involved as well. Sure don't feel very comfortable having everyone from all countries be able to retrieve my business information and my personal information. Stay clear, it has been a awful experience.

Hi Team, We reached out to ADP's team for an update on case number ** and spoke with a representative named Kelvin. During our conversation, we inquired about the status of the case. Kelvin, the ADP representative, informed us that resolution should occur within 8 weeks from the date the ticket was raised. Although we called several times, finally the ticket was initiated on June 26, 2023, making the 8-week deadline on or before August 21, 2023. We relayed this information back to Kelvin, that the 8 weeks were over, and we are still waiting for the update.
However, Kelvin placed us on hold to consult someone else and returned to inform us that he did not possess an estimate for issue resolution. Upon requesting a connection to someone who could assist, Kelvin once again placed us on hold briefly before informing us that he had spoken to the individual handling the case and that we could expect a call back or an email. When we asked for the name of the case manager, Kelvin was not able to provide them. He wanted to get my cell phone number and promised me a call back. As we were already frustrated, I requested to speak with his supervisor. After a few minutes on hold, Kelvin informed us that his supervisor was in a meeting and the supervisor promised to give us a call back with an update immediately after the meeting.
We already lost our trust in Kelvin's credibility by now, we wanted to document the supervisor's information in case we didn't receive a response. Kelvin provided the following details: Supervisor Name: Liza **, Phone: **, and Case number: **. His hesitations at the time of sharing the details and the suspicious phone number beginning with 999 raised doubts about the accuracy of the information. Despite confirming, he insisted it was correct. To verify the details, I called the provided phone number from a different line and confirmed that it was indeed a fake number. Upon sharing this revelation with Kelvin, he abruptly terminated the call. This experience has been profoundly disappointing and unprofessional. We've made multiple attempts to reach out to ADP for case updates, only received vague responses and no help at all.
Our frustration is combined with the fact that over 4 months months have passed, and the deadline for filing taxes with an extension is soon to elapse. Please inform us if there is any information required from our end. If necessary, I am prepared to escalate this matter to the highest level of escalation., Potentially involving the ADP’s Corporate, BBB, report the experience online or an even higher authority. Your urgent attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. We Need the Updated W2 For 2020 ASAP And Is Very Urgent.
I'm very sorry to hear about the lack of follow-up and service on this ticket. I'm part of the corporate team, I've located the case and have relayed this message to our service leaders and asked them to look into this and reach out.
Thank you, NW-ADP Client Experience
