Valvoline put the wrong Filter on my car and it seized the engine causing a $28,000 repair. Then they cleared my car's computer to hide the errors that were on my car and insisted is wasn't anything they did. Litigation soon to come. Do not trust this place.

I took my GMC to Valvoline Instant Oil Change on Snelling Avenue in St. Paul MN., where I have gone in the past. I was told that that they needed to put synthetic in as the Dealership for GMC and Buick and Cadillac required this now. I asked why and was told that probably there was a problem and so they recommend the synthetic now. I told them to just use the blend as it has always worked fine in the past. The guy told me ok but there would not be a warranty. I told him to go ahead. Then he came back and told me that now they didn’t even have the blend and had to put the synthetic in. It was $20 more.
After some discussion they gave me $15 off. When I left I called GMC dealership and was told that was not the case - it may be a Valvoline Policy. But, the dealership said once you have synthetic in your car they do not recommend going back to a blend. I called the customer service at Valvoline and got nowhere other than $44 credit off this service. Then they had the manager of the shop where the oil change was performed call me the next day - after going back and forth all he could say was he was sorry that they no longer make the blend. I told them I should get the cost of the blend for all my future visits since they are the ones who made the mistake. They would not comply and only kept saying they were sorry. I felt I was totally scammed by them.

I took my 1997 Ford F-150 into the nearest Valvoline for an oil change. When the guy came out he was all friendly and polite and told me that for the mileage on my vehicle that certain services are recommended. So I heard him out and agreed to let him perform a transmission flush. That was the beginning of my problems. After the services were performed on my vehicle and I got it back to the house it won't move at all. I did some research and found that it is terrible to do a transmission flush and causes this problem on virtually any vehicle. I am fighting to have Valvoline pay for my new transmission problems and cover all costs associated with the transmission being flushed. I hope nobody else has to suffer this fate with their vehicle. Don't go to Valvoline for anything more than an oil change. They specialize in one thing and that is all they are good for.

Simple to work with, I went in, tell them what I want, and they get to work. Ask me the usual stuff, run a few tests, then bring to my attention that my transmission fluid is in bad shape (I can't remember the exact words). Even let me see for myself, which they didn't need to do as I was probably overdue for it. So we talk, they offer to flush and replace and even give me a pretty hefty discount.
All the while, we talked about stuff as they worked, got it done right and there were no mistakes. As a bonus, they don't use a dirty filter to trick you into buying a new one, nor do they lie about what's wrong. In fact, if something is wrong and they can't deal with it, they will recommend a nearby shop. Maybe it's just this location, but I can't remember getting service like this back where I used to live.

I was yesterday, May 11.2019 at Valvoline 9014 National blvd for oil change and the employees seems good but when they start to selling some service like replacing battery, I felt they trying to rip me off because my battery is still good for 2 YEARS!! They gave me small paper showing the battery is almost gonna be dead!!! I took my car the same day to double check in Auto Part store and to the Toyota dealership and both check and confirm for free that my battery is still good for 2 YEARS at least!!!! Also this Valvoline place trying to rip me off for replacing ONE rear brake bulb for 57 DOLLARS!!!! 2 bulbs in any auto part store cost around 7 dollars or less!!!! I was highly disappointed and wonder how many customers they deceived for same practice and more. This is unprofessional behave and dishonest attitude that will catch up with them and they will lose big time everything! I advise anyone never go to this place again.

I brought my 2008 Range Rover full sized HSE Supercharged into a Valvoline for a simple oil change, now it's sitting at the Range Rover dealership. I had it towed to pending an inspection. Immediately after getting my oil changed I noticed it shifted a little funny, but I didn't put two and two together because I've only been driving this car for a week (and I hadn't driven much in that week), I thought maybe this was a pre-existing problem, because again I just got the car and how hard is it to do a proper oil change when that is the main thing your business does!? So giving them the benefit of the doubt I didn't think immediately this must be from my oil change, I should've.
This was on a Tuesday after work so I drove the 1.7 miles home and parked it for the night. Wednesday I drove the 1.3 miles to work and the 1.3 miles back home so it wasn't until Thursday when I did a ton of driving that I really noticed the shifting was really off and it started to have a loss of power so I'm getting nervous about this car I just got. I call a friend that used to work at as a German mechanic to come look at it. He agrees to come to my work and check it out the next day Friday. So I get home park it for the night and forget about it.
The next day my friend come out to look at it and asks why there is oil ALL OVER the bottom of the car (which I can say for a fact was not there prior to the oil change because just a week and a half ago I thoroughly checked this car out even crawled underneath of it before agreeing to take it). I tell him I just got an oil chang. We pull the dipstick to check the level. Now I'm expecting to see the oil low because it's leaking out of the car. No. Even after soaking the underneath of my car in oil, burning off I don't know how much with the 48 miles in driving since my oil change, and leaking who knows how much from Tuesday to Friday, the oil level is still overfilled!
At that moment is when I put two and two together and realize all of my issues started right after my oil change. I immediately tell my friend to close the hood and not lay another finger on it. I call Valvoline to let them know they obviously overfilled the crap out of my car and the engine has been acting up as a result. They have the manager come out to me, because I absolutely refuse to drive this thing now that I know the motor is completely overfilled with oil. He comes out, checks the dipstick and tells me it's not "that overfilled" while also stating "the oil level is good". Then he tells me he's going to have it towed down to another chain mechanic (so in my head I'm thinking, "Why are you going to tow it if, as he says, the oil level is good, humm, that's odd.") so I tell him no, I don't want him taking my car anywhere. They're the ones that broke it and he's already begun the process of denying that it's overfilled.
"Well we can take it back to his Valvoline store," he suggested "so he can get underneath and look at it". You don't need to be under it to see there is way too much oil in it. I have 3 men (1 a mechanic) and myself looking at my dipstick, every single one of us can see clear as day there is too much oil on it. But the manager from the Valvoline store that overfilled it is either blind or lying as he says he doesn't see the same thing that 4 other people are seeing. I again tell him, "No," there is no way I'm letting him take my car anywhere (he may be, but I'm not dumb - no way am I letting him take my car so he can let oil out of it and pretend it was never overfilled by them).
I tell him I want it towed to a certified Land Rover mechanic, so a knowledgeable third party with no interest in the outcome of the inspection can tell me if my car has too much oil in it (which it obviously does) and if the issues that are happening are due to it being overfilled (paid for by them), at that point he tells me to just let them know where I decide to take it and just leaves - no discussion of how this tow/inspection is being paid for. - I call Range Rover, but don't get ahold of them and at this point they'll be closed by the time I get the car there so I left it sitting at work and got a ride home from a friend.
Saturday morning I call Valvoline to figure out the payment situation. They'll reimburse me later for it IF it can be proven every single problem with my car is due to the oil change aka he's still looking for ways out of making the situation right and continuing to deny what is obvious. Fine, whatever, I paid for a $100 tow. I'm paying $200 at least for an inspection and after reading the horror stories from other Valvoline customers I'm seeing that it's next to impossible to get this company to admit to or pay for any of their wrongdoings. So I'm looking to start a class action lawsuit against them as I see this is an extremely common issue. Total loss vehicles all at the hands of one company that refuses to make it right for anyone. It's wrong, they need to be accountable.
Right now I have $120 for an oil change, $100 for a tow, & $200 for an inspection that they owe me so $420, plus in the near future I'm seeing another $100 for a tow back, $7000 for my motor - which does not include labor costs. So we'll just call it $10k which is being generous and of course yet another $100 tow back when a motor can be put in, so Valvoline owes me $10,620.00 in the foreseeable future. This company is despicable.

I come to Valvoline whenever I need an oil change because it is quick and convenient. The service is always excellent and they seem very reputable. They always recommend additional services, but it is all based on your vehicles owner manual (they have an electronic database full of manufacturer recommendations). They never recommend stuff that doesn't need to be done, and they are not pushy at all if you decline service. My one and only complaint is that they seem a little bit pricier, but you do pay for convenience. Overall I've been very satisfied with Valvoline. This review is based on their location in Orange County CA, perhaps in other areas the quality may vary.

Valvoline advertise fast and affordable service. When I went for a simple only oil change I was charged over $100. When I asked why it’s so expensive they said because my vehicle takes almost 6qts. A couple weeks after my car was signaling low oil I didn’t think anything of it so I top it off myself. Valvoline recommends an oil change every 3 months. When I go again they try to tell me I’m due for all types of replacements and flushing. So I agreed to a coolant flushing. This time my bill is over $300. About a week after my car was signaling low coolant after several refill myself daily then shortly afterwards the check engine light came on.
I took to a mechanic. I had to replace my reservoir tank because Valvoline broke it and was causing my coolant leak. And I don’t know what else they did but my oil was leaking from the last oil change I had at Valvoline. After several car repair and time and money spent trying to solve the damages done to my vehicle after Valvoline. My car is no longer drivable because of young inexperienced employees at Valvoline. I recommend anyone do not go to Valvoline because of their name or large change. You’re better off trusting a local mechanic who’s much more reliable and honest with years of experience.

I purchased a car on 2/26/19 so I take my car to Valvoline on South Kingshighway to get an oil change and safety/emissions. So once they were done I noticed that something was knocking. So by the 28th of Feb it was knocking hard so on 3/5/19 I take my car to Don Brown and he stated that the oil was leaking and it was milky and stated that I needed a motor. The car drove fine before I took my car to Valvoline. I test drove the car the day before and it drove fine. I then drove it from St. Charles Mo. with no problems. Now Valvoline don't want to honor their mess up.

STAY AWAY from Valvoline Instant Oil Change. Absolutely the worst service I have ever received from anyone (period)! This is the first time I have ever submitted a review for anything. Received an oil change from Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Cottage Grove, MN. Shortly thereafter and within 30 miles I started getting a low oil pressure warning light. I immediately exited the freeway and pulled into the nearby BP station. I had my 11-year old son with me at the time not to mentioned the -20 to -25 below zero wind chills that day. It was dangerously cold and not a day to be messing around. Left the vehicle there at BP and called my wife to come pick us up.
VIOC went to inspect the car and said there was no oil filter. Suffices to say the engine needs to be replaced in my vehicle. It took them 2 1/2 weeks for their investigation to complete. Please bear in mind I had no vehicle at the time. They concluded - how convenient for them - that there is no evidence that they are at fault. Basically, what they are saying is, they will not pay for their mistake and it's on the consumer (in this case me) to prove them otherwise. What a bunch of garbage! Consumer beware! They do NOT stand behind their mistakes like a good company should. I will never use them again and will be voicing my opinions and concerns on every social media site that I can.

Today 3-15-19 I went to Valvoline to have my oil changed because I just had a new engine and radiator put in and I needed an oil change at 600 miles per my mechanic. Valvoline tried to tell me my coolant needed to be flushed because it I had my washer fluid cap on the coolant reservoir and my washer fluid leaked into my coolant. The caps had been switched for over a yr and my mechanic never switched them back after installing the new radiator just 2 weeks ago. My mechanic has never said one word that was harmful or anything else about it. I had new radiator put in because it was cracked due to a massive pot hole. It had nothing to do with the reservoir caps being switched.
Last yr I went to Valvoline and that was a different store, they tried to tell me my serpentine belt was about to break. While I was get the new engine installed I had them just 2 weeks ago put a new belt on and they said my belt was still in pretty good condition and wanted to know if I wanted to keep it for a back up. Valvoline must train their employees to lie to their customers. I work as a rural mail carrier and I drive 140 miles a day in my jeep and I get a lot of maintenance done. I feel sorry for people that don't know their cars and fall for their deception.

Almost RUINED 2017 car by leaving the oil drain plug loose. A few days later I started smelling something funny, and my oil light came on. I pulled over and had to wait 3 hours for my boyfriend to come help me, and when he got there he said there was NO DRAIN PLUG AND ALL THE OIL WAS EMPTY. While I was there they told me that they weren’t responsible for any damage because their system showed I hadn’t changed my oil in 9,000 miles AND TRYING TO SELL ME UNNECESSARY UPGRADES (I change it every 3k, just not with them). I think they wanted to blame it on me, but I have proof I take excellent care of my car, and regardless putting on an oil plug screw is so easy a child should be able to it, especially when that is your whole job.
I am never going back to a Valvoline location ever again. The whole time they wanted me to upgrade on an air filter, synthetic oil and pcv valve. From the start I asked for conventional oil ONLY. My car is less than 3 years old and keep a great maintenance on my car. For them to tell me that it’s necessary to get all these upgrades is pure **. It saddens me how extreme people can be to rip people off and purposely try to ruin a brand new car. Thankfully my boyfriend knows about cars. Otherwise I would’ve been without a car. Btw an air filter can be bought at stores for a much cheaper price and install it yourself! You end up saving a lot of money instead of getting ripped off!

My husband and I have been using Valvoline for years, never having had an issue until recently. We have used 3 local locations, 2 of them much more frequently than the 3rd. I have a long time friend who worked for them for years. Recently my husband's vehicle would not shift into drive... AT ALL. The car needed to be towed home. The only place we have ever used to oil changes is Valvoline and we pay big time when we do go, always a different price. That being said, according to my friend who worked there, upon each visit fluids are supposed to be checked and topped off. Well, after having a family member look over the vehicle there was NO transmission fluid OR oil in this car!!!!
Fast forward a day or two later, I hear a whirring noise in my own car. Remembering things I had read while trying to figure out why my husband's car broke down, I immediately had him and my father check my transmission fluid. Well, I drive a Nissan Altima, and on a Nissan the transmission actually has a seal that needs to be broken in order to check the transmission fluid... Mine was not! Basically all this time we have been paying 3x as much as doing our OWN oil changes at home for them to ruin our vehicles. Mine is perfectly fine thankfully, but my husbands needed a whole new transmission. $3000 worth. Never again Valvoline!

I had a state inspection done today and am quite unhappy with the service. A large, rotund man asked me “What [I] wanted.” I asked for an inspection and the behemoth said “Leave the keys in the car and sit in the lobby.” Clearly, an expert in customer service. Upon pulling my vehicle into the bay, I watched the same large employee, later identified as employee Roger **, run the gas and brakes, rocking my car violently back and forth while laughing. The 3 other employees, apparently with nothing better to do also laughed. When I asked why my vehicle was being treated like this, I was told it was part of the inspection.
In my 30 plus years as a driver nobody has ever treated my vehicle like this and it's certainly NOT part of an inspection. When I asked for the name of the employee and the manager, I was told they are one and the same. The actual manager was the one treating a customer car in this manner in front of the customer. I guess business is slow and this location has nothing better to do than entertain themselves by abusing a customer car. Close them down. I got some of this abuse on my phone and will be uploading it to YouTube to post along with my official Google review of this location. It's sad to see 4 mechanics with nothing to do and filling their time with mischief in a day and age where I can get an oil change or inspection anywhere. The Route 211 location is always respectful and professional. The absolute opposite of this Dolson Avenue location. I will never patronize this location again. Pathetic.

We had our truck serviced at Valvoline in Glendale, Wisconsin for an oil change on July 28, 2018. On Aug 16th, our truck stopped due to the engine ceasing. My mechanic states the engine stopped due to no oil in the reservoir due to a missing oil plug. The oil change was done sloppily & incorrectly. We have pictures of oil all over the engine & on the ground after the service was performed. The Valvoline attendant stated that the extra oil will just burn off.
We contacted Valvoline customer service to relay our experience and after days of waiting for a response and being told that the representative handling our case is not in, we were ultimately told that upon review of the video taken during the servicing of our vehicle, the service was found to be performed correctly. In essence, we were told that oil spilled all over the engine & leaking onto the ground is normal for an oil change. The oil plug disappearing, allowing all oil to leak from the reservoir, thus leading to my trucks' engine ceasing is our fault.
We are now going through the court process. The company is claiming no fault & now we have lost our primary vehicle & now will also spend countless hours of time, effort, dollars & resources going to court. I do not recommend this company as they are not owning up to errors made by their facility & staff that ended up in my family's loss of our long-time, primary vehicle.

Brought my vehicle in for an inspection. After my vehicle was in the bay for half an hour they finally pulled it out front and came to the waiting area. They told me my vehicle failed the inspection due to one of my rear license plate lights was out. I asked him if he could change the bulb and he said that the screws appeared to be rusty and he refused to even try to remove them but if I had the bulb replaced that day he would just need to verify the bulb worked and he would put the sticker on my windshield.
I went down the road to AutoZone and bought a bulb and borrowed a screwdriver. The screws removed easily as they only had a little surface pitting. I returned to Valvoline for the "quick verification" but there now was a few cars waiting in line and was told I had to wait because it had to come into the bay. I didn't have much choice having already paid so I gave him my cellphone number and told him I was going next door to get something to eat and to call me when it was in the bay. It was 6pm and they closed at 7pm but was assured it would only be about a half hour. I never received a phone call from them and realized it was nearly 7pm so I went back over to find they were closed.
Luckily I caught the last employee in his car attempting to leave and trying not to notice me. I asked him where my vehicle was and he told me they never got a chance to get to it and my vehicle was around back at the entrance bay door where I had left it with the keys in it as he sped away. The verification of a working bulb would be less than 1 minute as all other inspections were done. To leave my car with the keys in the ignition and close the shop without calling me was totally irresponsible, dangerous and unprofessional. I had already paid them but refused to return there ever again and had the inspection done elsewhere the next day.

I am beyond angry, upset, and disgusted at the lack of customer service, concern for safety and empathy that has been displayed by Valvoline instant oil change corporate & Valvoline instant oil change of Levittown PA. This company's negligence put my life and others at risk and caused 1000s of dollars in damage to my vehicle. Even after they admitted fault and carelessness they denied my request for them to have my car towed to a dealer at their cost.
I went to the Valvoline Instant Oil change in Levittown PA for a routine oil change and tire rotation on November 5th 2018. When I arrived the people working were friendly and appeared to be working on my car with care. When they were "Finished" they asked me to sign the paperwork and said I was done and could drive away. I pulled out of their parking lot and onto a busy highway. I made it 500 feet before hearing alarming sounds coming from my car. Something wasn't right. I moved into the center turning lane so I could pull in a large parking lot across the street and see what was going on.
When I turned across road (oncoming traffic) I heard a loud bang and the front passenger side of my car dropped to the pavement. Out of my passenger window I could see a tire rolling down the road. My Front passenger front tire came off my vehicle and rolled down the road. My car dropped onto the rotor and I was stuck perpendicular in the middle of oncoming traffic. Scared for my life I pressed the gas hoping the 3 remaining tires would be able to get me to safety. I slowly scrapped my way just off the highway into a parking lot. I rushed out of the car to find no tire on my front passenger side and my back tire was halfway off the car.
When the front tire came off it caused extensive damage to my wheel well, front quarter panel hood and numerous other issues. I didn't care about the car. I was thankful to be alive and grateful that I did not hurt or kill another person. Since I didn't make it more than 1000 feet from the shop I ran across the road to get the attention of the service manager. I told him and his techs that the wheels just came off my car. Their only response was... "We must not have tightened the lug nuts" not, "Are you ok. Was anyone hurt?" No... "We must not have done our job..."
The Service manager walked over to the vehicle and said he would get my tired back on. He tried for 2 hrs with multiple jacks and struggled. I advised that I would wait across the street and requested that my car be towed to a local Ford dealership at Valvoline's costs because I did not feel safe driving it. A tech from Valvoline came to let me know my wheels were back on and the car was ready. I asked when the tow truck was coming and I was instructed to speak with the service manager. The service manager Ron advised that his Area Manager (Ron **) would not approve the costs of the tow truck because my wheels were back on my car. I expressed my concern for my safety and how this situation put mine and others lives at risk.
I noted that the area manager clearly does not understand the severity of the situation. The service manager stated that he told his manager everything and explained how serious it was. Even after that they denied my request. During this exchange the service manager admitted negligence and agreed that this was their fault and very dangerous. I called my own tow truck. While I was waiting for a tow I called Valvoline corporate and filed a claim. Provided all of the information above and noted the area manager's name. I was advised by the customer service rep that my claim was escalated and would be addressed ASAP. I advised that I would like the area manager to reach out to me directly so I can express my concern... He never did.
It’s now weeks later and no one from Valvoline has called me except the service manager to keep me updated on the information from Ford about the damage to my vehicle. On each update call from the service manager, I expressed my disgust that his manager has yet to contact me and could he please have him do so. On 11/15 after strongly voicing my frustration with Valvoline to the service Manager on their lack of customer service, concern for safety and follow up with customers I received a call from area manager (Ron **).
Ron in a very arrogant, non-concerned voice told me that he was only approving $1000 of the damage that was quoted by Ford. I explained to Ron that his "approval of the costs were not my concern and they would be settled between my insurance company and his". I explained to Ron my absolute disgust at his lack of concern for my safety, well being and overall callous attitude. I recounted the severity of the situation point by point. I described the danger I was put in as well as other drivers and that he should have been on the phone the next day to apologize for the mishap. Not only that, I was never contacted again by corporate. I expressed feelings on Ron's attitude, poor management and people skills and Ron Response. Ron told me he didn't have to listen to this and hung up the phone. Ron never apologized on behalf of the company or took initiative. Ron hid behind the problem instead of getting in front of it.
Following this exchange, I was even upset about how I was treated by Valvoline and I called back into Valvoline corporate. I requested to speak to Ron **, manager (Andy **) and explained my concerns again. I was instructed by the customer service rep that she could not get Andy on the phone and could not guarantee that he would return my call. She then noted that Ron ** had called in to corporate to report that I expressed my distaste with how I was treated. This experience with Valvoline was absolutely awful. There was zero concern for my life, or the lack of service and car I received... The business, area and market managers (Ron **) & (Andy **) and customer service representative are the worst that I have ever come across in my life.

I’ve never had a experience like my visit to this location. I’ve been loyal to this store for years. I put 75,000 to 80,000 a year on my company car. I use lots of oil with oil changes at 5,000 miles. I pull up coupons online for my oil change but left my iPhone at home with the coupons on my home page. After arriving to Valvoline I realized what I had gone and asked the attendant if they could pull up my records and see I’ve been a good customer and if they could do anything to help offset my 79.99 oil change. I was told that I didn’t need to have a attitude and that it wasn’t their fault I forgot the coupons. I explained I didn’t have a attitude and asked for his name and he said he wasn’t going to give me his name and that I was a jerk. That’s when I told him to get away from my car and let me leave. I also returned some name calling with him. This has to be the worst experience I’ve ever seen from a customer service. I will never visit a Valvoline location.

5/25/2018: date of occurrence. This letter is to serve as an account of the events that occurred on 5/25/2018 @ Valvoline Oil Change located on 975 Route 6 in Mahopac, NY (845) 628-4239. Store # AE6401 Managers on Shift was Keith and Chris. My husband went in for a routine Oil Change and Tire Rotation. The service worker @ Valvoline was Mike. After the oil change was completed the tire rotation process was started. When the process was completed my husband paid for the service and entered his car.
Upon trying to close his driver side door he realized that he could not shut the door. He exited the vehicle and observed that metal panel under his driver’s side door was “crunched” this area of the car is known as the rocker panel. My husband immediately walked back into Valvoline as he had not yet left the property. He showed the damage to Keith ** and Chris ** (managers) and at this time they verbally identified and assumed fault for the damage to the vehicle and identified that it was a result of a faulty and inappropriate placement and use, by their employee Mike, of the hand jack. Chris sent my husband to Gabriel’s Autobody
I then contacted Valvoline myself and spoke to Chis ** who verbally admitted to me that they were at fault and would be responsible for fixing the repairs on the vehicle. Chris also reimbursed my husband for the cost of the services he received that day. Chris provided me with the Customer Care number of 1-800-327-8242. They agreed to pay for the damages. My husband arrived at Gabriel’s Auto Body and met with Rick. After assessing the vehicle and assisting in unjamming the door lock mechanism.
The car was assessed and it was determined that the damage was significant to the reinforced steel panel under the rocker panel and affected the structural integrity. It was a result of an improper lift and positioning by the hand jack. The tire rotation was also completed outside of the bay area and on the side of the building. At the completion of the service- my husband made payment. He was not provided with any receipt, was not asked to initial. When my husband inquired if he needed to sign anything Chris stated “nope you’re good to go man”.
I also spoke to Rick @ Gabriel’s Autobody who reported that he also spoke to Keith first and then Chris who both acknowledged and identified that Valvoline was responsible. At this time the estimate was completed by Rick @ Gabriel’s Autobody and the total is $5,100.00. Rick called Chris at Valvoline to inform him of the cost to repair.
Fast forward 4 months to now 10/3/18. At this time Valvoline is now continuing to refuse to submit documents they claim to have from my insurance company stating that they are no longer at fault. My insurance company requested this proof be sent to their Segregation team on 6/20/18. They still have not sent proof. Valvoline Corporate is playing the game of they want my insurance to send them the release freeing them from any further costs before they will send the requested document.
If Valvoline has “said document” then why could you not provide the “proof” when requested??? Cause you don’t have it. My family is out over $700.00 dollars and your company wants to play games. YOU ARE Liable for this claim and damages incurred. Do the right thing and take responsibility for your error and the error of your staff. I find it hard to believe that a corporation as large as yours does not have liability coverage. To make matters worse your corporation has still not reimbursed my insurance company the over $4000.00 they paid thus far for the damages! The damages YOUR MANAGERS (Chris and Keith) admitted responsibility for!!!!

So I went to the one in Eastgate (Cincinnati) Ohio. I got a full synthetic oil change. I had seen online $54.99 was the most expensive... so how is it that I get there and it’s $79.99 and with my $15 off coupon $64.99. I think it’s pretty crappy that they take complete advantage of their customers for their money. I paid $70 and the guy wouldn’t even clean my air conditioner filter (which is supposed to be free) because he thought it might snap when he took it out and it would charge me another $35!!! How about you do what you told me you’d do and if YOU break it you replace it considering the price I’m paying you!
Also, as you sit there while they do all of this they’re trying to convince you that you need to buy this or change this for this amount of money. I said NO to everything and had they not already begun emptying my oil out before I found out the “price” I'd have taken my car elsewhere. DO NOT go here unless you want to get completely and totally ripped off!

On September 04, 2018 I went to my local Valvoline here in Delaware. As I have routinely visited for service, however on this day service standards were clearly below the Valvoline 18 point inspection promise. Technicians only filled air pressure on drivers side, no fluid was topped off as indicated on receipt, under the hood in the vicinity of oil replacement cap I found a shop rag that was neglected to be taken which could have potentially damaged or caused engine fire.
It was recommended that I replace air filter, to which I informed was just replaced this week. Technician replied "All you had to say is no". Tone of voice was apparent unprofessional and represented to me that I hadn't just replaced air filter this week. It was the refusal of Valvoline attempt to upsale service, as to why I would have received such response.
I have reached out to Valvoline corporate office seeking a refund for neglecting to provide service as promised on the pledge to perform, to date have not heard back from management. Of all the issues that were noted, as a Firefighter I am very upset with the neglectful act to not have been more careful in removing a shop rag from engine. The safety of a customer seems not as important than the form of payment expected.

My mother sent my 23-year-old daughter to Valvoline to get an oil change. They came in and told her that her radiator was full of sludge and she needed to flush it. Funny thing is her uncle who is a seasoned mechanic of 40+ years had checked her car out that morning and one of the things he had checked had been her radiator And there was no sludge because he would have told us and I verified with him that this was not the case.
I tried to speak with the manager of the Valvoline. He insisted that there was sludge. He also told me he would fax me an itemized receipt which he did not do. He also told me he had emailed said receipt to my daughter which he did not do. Obviously getting nowhere with him I called the home office and file the complaint are. I was told I would receive a call back within 24 hours and when I did not I called the home office once again. They finally put me through to the regional manager. They finally put me through to the regional manager who after hearing my story told me that she would do nothing to rectify the situation. Obviously $88 is more important to them than customer satisfaction and integrity as well as a repeat services. They preferred to make their money fraudulently through uninformed young women and the elderly.

I went Valvoline oil service center in Guilderland, NY for state inspection. I usually do my own oil change but since I am there for the inspection, I asked the service manager to change my oil. When I came home, large oil leaked onto my concrete carport where I always park this car. There was not a drop of oil prior to this oil change. I went back and told them about the leak and they told me the oil pan thread was stripped and they said that this is wear and tear item. They put rubber plug and stop the leak but they did not address the what they have done to my oil plug thread. How can an oil plug thread be wear and tear item? If you torque it correctly, it should never fail. They did not use a torque wrench when I was watching.
I went there for simple oil change and now I have ~$500-$1000 issue which I may need new oil pan or tap new thread which is not a good fix. It may leak again. Both options are the costly and time-consuming work. I have done many oil changes and it never leaked on me but when I was there once, they admitted that they stripped my oil pan thread and caused a large oil leak and they continue to state that they are not responsible for the car over 100k miles and they are not owning up their mistake. I contacted the corporate but no response. I will submit small claims court in my town to see if they force Valvoline to do anything. This is matter of principle. They stripped my oil plug and they should fix it. Why do I need to responsible for $500-$1000 problem Valvoline has created.

I went Valvoline on Hoosick St in Troy NY to get my NYS inspection done after going to Mavis to get my brakes and new tires so it could pass inspection. Only reason I didn't get an inspection at Mavis was because they didn't have any stickers. They failed my inspection after I refuse to pay 139.99 to do a AC coolant flush which has nothing to do with the inspection. The reason they told me it failed was because of my tints were 62-63 out of 70 when it's on a scale of 100. My tints are factory. I've had this car since 2011. When it was made and never failed an inspection because of my tints nor have I been pulled over because of them.
I went right back to another Mavis in Albany NY which had stickers and it passed no problem. I was also told that my tints are not too dark and when I showed them the invoice from Valvoline and the reason they said, "That's BS." They also had four different people look at my tints whose response was, "What tints?" 'cause they are so clear. As you can see in the pic these tints are not dark at all. Valvoline are scam artist. I have reported them to corporate and the BBB. I won't stop till I get my money back and action is taken against these shysters. On July 5th 2018 had my oil changed at Kaiser Valvoline Instant Oil Change and they overfilled the oil by at least 1 quart. I kept trying to figure out why my car was smoking and missing. Well finally I checked the oil stick and the oil was at least a quart over full and the plugs were drowning in oil and making the car smoke and lunge around. I took the car back to them and asked them to drain the oil down and add a quart of oil product that stops the engine from smoking. NO. They will not accommodate me by fixing their mistake.
I told them since they would not fix their mistake I may have to sue them if it hurt the engine. I was told, "Oh well" and was to back all the way out. I will never have them change my oil again and advise the readers that if you do be prepared to absorb any damage they may inflict upon your car, because they will not help you. So far it's cost me $46.98 for their oil change and $$25.00 for another oil change after draining their oil and $10.00 for the treatment and possibly the cost to change spark plugs. Sorry Valvoline. I had to tell on you but you didn't seem to care so you have it coming.

I have seen similar reviews but this made me so angry that I had to add my 2 cents. Valvoline in Derry NH. Oil change for 2010 Audi A6 Quattro. Was told it needs full synthetic. So the package is $89.99. Now... not bad enough... they then claim you have a "special" oil filter and that filter cost $15... (Can find it for $7 online) on top of the $89.99. I argued that the $89.99 includes an oil filter. It even says oil filter under the $89.99 along with oil. So I said then, "You should remove the cost of that oil filter out of the $89.99 before you add back in the $15..." for a cheap paper oil filter. The tech just kept claiming there was no filter included in the $89.99... yet a quick look at old oil changes for my wife's GMC... there is no additional charge for an oil filter in the basic package.
IT IS A TOTAL RIP OFF. Seems Valvoline does this over and over to people. The techs are very friendly... but otherwise they scam you every way they can. My wife has been using them for years. We will no longer be using them for any of our vehicles. We have 5... and will be telling anyone who cares to listen to avoid them as well.

On February 21, 2018, I took my 2013 Kia Sorento to Valvoline Instant Oil in Cuyahoga Falls for an oil change. I was advised it was due for a transmission flush, which I agreed to have completed at that time. The following evening (Feb 22), a large puddle of transmission fluid was noticed in my garage. I had driven a total of 18 miles since the service. As it was after hours, the next morning (Feb 23) I drove the 1.5 miles up to Valvoline to have this inspected. The Customer Service Representative Ryan said that there was no leak, this was just 'residue' after the flush which leaked onto the garage floor. However, they started adding fluid to my transmission, and then the manager, Hank ** told me that the transmission pan plug was 'stripped'. This plug had never been removed until they serviced it less than 48 hours prior. Hank stated he would order a new plug, and it was 'ok to drive'.
I drove the 1.5 miles home, and put a large piece of cardboard under my vehicle. Less than an hour later, there was a huge puddle of transmission fluid on the floor, and I could see the pan leaking steadily. I had my vehicle towed to Jim's Transmission Shop in Cuyahoga Falls, and I called Valvoline. Hank (manager) said that he would take care of it and call the shop. Jim's Transmission determined that the reason my pan was leaking was because the Valvoline Tech (Anthony) did not put the o-ring back on the plug after he completed the transmission flush. This would have been evident when I brought my vehicle back to Valvoline. However, Valvoline lied to me first about the leak, then the reason for the leak, and to add insult to injury, falsely instructed me that it was "ok to drive". Valvoline did pay for the repair directly.
However, they have not reimbursed me for my out of pocket expenses such as rental car, lost wages, cleaning of the garage, tow, etc. They have not paid restitution for breach of duties, negligence, and flat out dishonesty. I have sent supports to Valvoline at both the local store and their headquarters via certified mail. Until yesterday, March 27, 2018, they have refused to respond. I received a call from the Regional Manager for this particular store. I think the only reason he called is that 15 minutes earlier I tweeted to Valvoline that I was filing complaints. He said his name was Doug. He said I hadn't been contacted because they were reviewing this with their 'legal department'. Doug proceeded to pick apart my demand, and while he flat out admitted fault, that they were not going to pay for many items. Items that are owed like power washing my garage- he said unless I paid someone to do it, it wasn't covered.
I have been a claims adjuster for 18 years, and I handle claims in all 50 states. The cost for a service is owed, no matter if the property owner does the repairs themselves. He also said that they will not pay for my lost time at work that were a direct result of this loss. Doug offered a "warranty" from Valvoline for my transmission if there are any problems down the road. I advised him that considering their abysmal record with Consumer Affairs, it wouldn't be worth the paper it was printed on. If I had listened to the Valvoline's employee's absolute bold faced LIE that my vehicle was OK to drive, my transmission would have seized-causing extensive damage to my vehicle, as well as potential bodily injury not only to myself, but potentially to other parties. Valvoline has already admitted fault, and attempted to reimburse me just for the cost of the transmission flush. This is not acceptable.

I made a claim after I was told the last person to do my oil change potentially messed up my oil pan and oil drain plug. I went to the Avon Valvoline that previously completed the job and overcharged me. To my surprise the place was abandoned despite the fact it was only two or three months after I got work from them. I contacted the next closest one and submitted a claim. I was told I would be contacted within 24 business hours, I was not so I called them and was told they would get back with me. 10 days from the day of the claim I finally speak with them.
By that time my car was being repaired so the claims manager before even looking at my car tries to misplace the blame on several other factors. Finally he sends his mechanic to look at my old part that I paid to get replaced, and comes up with it didn't need replacing. Despite the fact that two separate shops told me the exact same thing. One cost was significantly lower than the other. Without knowing what the other suggested. And I had to hunt down claims manager because he didn't even have the decency to call me back. Completely non-chalant and careless. Oh and the manager blamed me for getting my car fixed before he had time to let me know that the pan wasn't needing to be replaced. Even though I didn't know whether they would contact me or not.

I told the young lady that I can come back tomorrow cause I already know what kind of service I'm about to receive. They completed the Job and I don't believe they changed my filter or canister. NYS requires all vehicles to be inspected annually. Valvoline is a NYS Certified Inspection Station. I called and was told there was no wait time. I was there in less than 5 minutes. Then 3 customers who wanted oil changes arrived. They were taken ahead of me. I was told it is their policy to take oil changes first, inspections wait. So I said, "I could wait here all day if oil change customers keep coming?" I was told yes. Then I noticed a homemade computer printed sign that stated NYS Inspections are "Truly a service for our oil change customers" I could hardly believe my eyes. I'm sure NYS did not certify them to inspect only oil change customers. Bottom line unless you happen to need an oil change as well (by the way in my experience, they're the most expensive in Western New York for oil changes) or have an entire day to sit at Valvoline go somewhere else.

This station (Valvoline Express Care Cedar Hill) has been owned by three owners, two of which have been great regarding customer service. The third husband and wife team is the latest group who came in and started off by doing a makeover on the station with a fresh coat of paint, new TV's, etc. However the one stark difference was this couple owns several oil change stations in the DFW area and uses a surveillance app on their phones to monitor the station activities. This dynamic here is a recipe for failure compared to the other two owners more hands on approach, always greeting the customers, and owner to customer engagements. There was a notable bland feel from the staff with the staff on the first oil change, then things got remarkably worst on the second.
Last Thursday afternoon, I went in and parked my truck at the rear of the station waiting for someone to greet and inquire about my automotive needs. No staff member came out, so I went in the lounge area with no staff presence there. As I went back to my truck, a second car arrive behind mine, it was then that finally a staff member came out and made a beeline for that car, spoke to the customer, got into the car and drove the car to the front of the station while totally disregarding my presence altogether. Keeping in mind, that as I first approached a staff member was lowering a bay door who in my opinion made eye contact with truck.
I immediately was furious with the lack of attention these staff members were giving me and drove off to report the incident to the Valvoline Express Car corporate office. The owners finally contacted me about the incident and offered a free oil change as an apology. As a long term customer, the whole incident greatly soured my outlook on this oil change station and its owners. It goes to show with all the competition out there how quick a customer can jump ship and move on.

Never again, talking about excellent customer service so my boyfriend recommended Valvoline for an oil change... we go take my 2007 Mazda CX-7 to Valvoline on Twin Creek Drive, Killeen Texas, we get a high mileage oil change. The guy Charles and Adam complete the oil change, print off a receipt and sends us on our way! Approximately 2 weeks later I go out of town. Come home my oil light flashed. I parked the car. The next morning I go to take my 6 children to school the car is making a extremely loud noise sounding like a tractor so I let my kids walk to school and called Valvoline.
After locating my receipt they noted on the receipt a oil leak was detected yet never once mentioned it to me. It was also noted they added wiper fluid yet it was bone dry. They noted my transmission fluid was ok yet it was bone dry so all the time I'm riding around with no fluids in my car. Now my engine is blown... I called to see if they can at least redo my oil change and tell me where the leak is. The owner Gary says they are not liable for the damage to my car. Get a second opinion in which I called Mazda myself and was told that I should take it back because fluids were never filled yet checked off. So the owner did not want to take ownership for damaging my car. I'm a single mother of 6 who was working in Austin. I now have lost my job due to no transportation! I mentioned lawyer and the owner terminated the conversation and hung up in my face!

For years I have been going to Valvoline for almost every vehicle I have own. If I had to give a time frame I'd say about 17 years. Never really had I ever had a problem with the company except for about 9 years ago when I had them change my transmission fluid... NEVER AGAIN... But anyway, on this particular day store location on Dixie Hwy. in Louisville, Ky. something just wasn't right. I took my Dodge truck in for a oil change and yes I was a few miles overdue but whatever, right. Well, I don't know about anyone else but I guess over the years of repeatedly getting oil changes you become subconsciously aware of how long your oil change should take to complete. Not to mention they never once yelled "got oil pressure" you know after they've supposedly put the oil back in your vehicle. Well yea, that was never mentioned.
Oh, and you now how they yell out "bay1" and so forth... yeah none of that mess was ever mentioned. So after the fact I went home and I asked my neighbor who works on cars if he could tell if my oil had been changed. He immediately looks under the hood and says "oh, they didn't change your oil filter." So I immediately go back up to the store ask the young assistant if they could change my oil filter. He says "well we have cameras that I can rewind back to make sure that everything was done completely and correctly." I said "ok cool." Well, while I'm waiting the young man who supposedly completed my oils change is trying his best to convince me how he did change my filter.
All while another young lady is under my car underground inspecting the filter. She tells me "oh yea, I can see why he thought we didn't change the filter because it has oils all over it." She shows me another oil filter that looks old and worn and said that it was mine. Which was fine but my suspicion was still growing because the assistant hadn't come back out to show me the video. So after that the assistant come out and says "ok she changed your filter so you're good to go." And shuts my truck hood down. The young lady says, "no I didn't change her filter." The assistant then says "well we're not changing it and that's, that." So I say to the young man "well ok where is the video." He says "I don't have it and if you have a problem how I could come back tomorrow and speak to the manager." I said "no I will not because it needs to be addressed today."
The young man tells me "well I'm calling the cops." I thought over a oil filter? I said to the young man "do what you have to do." Well, while I waited I called the customer care and complained to them and they resolved the problem in no time. As I was about to leave the police showed up, the gentleman that he was and told me how he taught his daughters how to do their own oil change and we just had a good ole conversation. I apologize to the cop for the young man calling him for something so simple and how the young man just didn't want to do his job so he bailed out and call the cops to clean his mess.
Anyway, Valvoline customer care sent me down to the neighboring Valvoline to give me a full oil change and showed me the filter that was supposedly had been changed prior. They even told me how all of my fluids were not topped off also. Now isn't that something. Call it gut instinct or suspicions minded, either way I was right.

3 weeks later my car is leaking antifreeze and smoking, I call the store and spoke with the Manager and was told to return with my car. Supposedly, Valvoline had a coupon deal going on, for which I was informed that facility was not offering. Then I was told they had no operable lift, and their attached car wash was also out of service, nor was I there for a car wash. The two people working the bay area were both less than 20. Then a 3rd person, of unknown gender came from out of nowhere and began arguing with me and treating me as if were stupid! This person also looked under 20. None were wearing nametags and is the reason for the gender identity crisis of the 3rd person.
My opinion solely, but does their mothers know the whereabouts of their kids? Also, the people who own these places, are they too damned cheap to pay the wages of an experienced crew? I was a manager of three businesses over the years. One was a startup, which I built up. The other two were both auto repair facilities. I just recently left Valvoline. I loved the job but the reason I left was the customers. 9 out of 10 were jerks. Manufacturers determine what oil goes in each vehicle NOT THE EMPLOYEE GETTING PAID $9.00 /HOUR to speak to your grouchy self. I made no money for selling anything. There was no hidden agenda. We didn't get extra bonus money because you put an air filter in especially when your car is 17 yrs old and you use conventional OIL THEN DRIVE 16,000 MILES on a 3000-mile oil change and can't understand why there is no oil in your car. You are rude even though my relative was murdered last week and her body hasn't been found.
You don't see me treating you with ugly words and a condescending attitude. You come in with your $19.99 coupons (which you hide because you know you are pretty much stealing from VIOC) and we haven't seen you in a year and when I try to explain that you have no oil in your car you are pissed with ME. Like I drove by your house the night before and syphoned all your oil out! I read pages and pages of these posts here. Yes many of you were treated unfairly and some of your complaints are legitimate but a lot of them are unfounded and caused by your neglect.
Listen, if you buy a Lexus, why would you pay ALL that money for a vehicle and then put the cheapest oil in it yet expect it to last you for 7500 miles? Honestly, you people are unbelievable! Think of it like this - if you needed a blood transfusion would you tell your doctor to put the basic blood in your body or the blood that will make you feel the best? After this job, I have zero faith in people!!! 9 out of 10 are rude jerks who refuse to even engage in a simple conversation. They jump on their phones to avoid human contact. My job required me had to explain oil to you, I had to educate you on what Toyota recommends for your vehicle, I had to make sure every step was taken so your car didn't lose oil and your engine lock up. They paid me to take care of you but you treated me like I was dirt. I am educated, a masters degree in education actually, but you looked down your noses at me.
Pulled out your cheap coupon at the last second because you thought you were pulling one over on me. People would come in who were humble, who desperately needed those wiper blades that you all whine about on this site. Those humble individuals got a discount without asking because they didn't treat me as sub-human. Karma is something else my friends. You idiots who treat others like dirt are the ones who get an oil leak. The idiots whose vehicle REQUIRE full synthetic and you only put conventional oil in it then tell me you are selling the car (and I ask if you want me to print out your history of service and you say 'no'...Lol. I wouldn't want it to show the next owner EITHER!).
Again, some people on here posted legitimate issues. But having dealt with your nasty, rude, obnoxious, condescending attitudes for three years you all suck! One more thing - those ignorant skid plates you whine and moan about are mostly held on my plastic clips that cost like an eighth of a cent so when you run over something and it rips off, it isn't because Valvoline didn't put it back on correctly. It is because they are pointless and whoever manufactured your vehicle thought it was a good idea but didn't invest money into holding it in place. So after you remove it twice a year for that oil change (which should be done four times a year you cheap pieces of dirt!) the clips break. So from a person that waited on you for years I want to say I wish you would walk a mile in my Valvoline shoes and see yourself from my world. I couldn't stay in a job I love because you insisted on being a Jack ** instead of human. Again, karma is a **.

At Valvoline USA on May 18th I decided to go to your location on West Boylston Street in Worcester, MA for an Oil Change, something I have routinely done for the last 8 years. A few days later my Air Conditioner stopped working. I revisited the location and was offered a $150 A/C service which I did not have time to do anyways. After a busy couple days with work and other obligations my charging system light went on.
I took it to the mechanic the next day and after some diagnostic tests, they had to replace the alternator. It was discovered that it was absolutely soaked in oil due to a botched oil change. I contacted your customer service, sent pictures and invoices, and was told I would talk to a regional manager the next morning. The site manager called me and dismissively told me Valvoline did nothing wrong and that Nissan Muranos are known for bad alternators and 'I can google recall information on alternators if I liked.' My car has 60K miles on it so my googling actually uncovered that my alternator should last 100-150K miles.
After examining the A/C compressor and how it would not power on, it was also noticeably covered with oil along with the A/C clutch. I went back and forth with your Customer Service Department for the last week, as well as being told multiple times regional managers would contact me, only to be passed off and have to continually chase people down. I met with two Valvoline individuals this morning with my mechanic and was told I would be called later on by 2pm with a resolution but was never called. I then had to be the one reaching out to you once again.
I was then told that you concluded that although everything is covered in oil connected to that May 18th service, you ARE NOT responsible for all the damages and problems that have ensued. It was then generously suggested to me to google Murano problems with oil leaks and when I google, I can't help but find more issues with Valvoline than I can with vehicle. All I was seeking was compensatory damages for the mistakes they made. Their negligence in handling the matter as well as complete disregard for their responsibility of the observed facts is unimaginable.

I did not have a good experience at Valvoline (located just east to Noland & 40 Hwy, Independence, MO). I went in for a routine oil change for my car. No big deal. Right? Well, $200 and 4 days later it was a big deal. After changing my oil they started up the car and it started raining oil, (like a waterfall) from my car. Their tech stated that there was a problem in a part that they could not fix and because the oil was leaking so much I couldn’t drive the car to a repair shop. So I called CarMax where I brought the car 6 years ago and had the car towed to them. CarMax stated that they “Found a leak coming from the oil filter adapter housing, which was loose. The housing also had an old filter seal stuck to the Housing. The seal was left on from previous repairs and the Housing was loose”.
Now I don’t know if Valvoline is capable of tighten the housing, but if there were 2 seals, and Valvoline was the last place to touch the oil filter it would seem to me that they should have seen the seal when changing the oil and should have taken the old seal off before putting on the new filter. I believe the WHOLE problem could have been avoided if Valvoline noticed the extra seal, removed the seal, replaced the new filter and sent me on my way. If there was a leak, in time I would have noticed the problem and had the needed repairs done.
The tow service and extra oil change should not have been necessary, if Valvoline had done the service correctly. Valvoline has agreed to reimburse me the charge for the oil change they performed, but they will not accept responsibility for the 2 seals or tow charge. My boyfriend recently got his oil changed at the Valvoline on Dolsen Ave. in Middletown, NY. After driving 2.5 miles down the road, his motor blew up. We called Valvoline corporate office and started a claim and the technicians from Middletown came out to look at the car the next day. They took pictures of the car and encouraged us to have the motor looked at by a full service garage. We took it to First Class in Middletown, NY and the report came back stating the motor blew up because it did not have enough oil in the car.
After giving this report to Valvoline, we were informed that Valvoline is not taking any responsibility. I am absolutely outraged by this lack of responsibility for the company's action, as well as the lack of respect this company has for their customers. As of now, we are in the process of taking this company to court. I am disgusted by this situation and I wanted to share my story so potential customers can be aware of the type of company they are deciding to use for an oil change.

I made a phone call to this store and complained about the up charge and I was told that the vehicle requires a better oil according to the manufacturer (Not True). I checked the owners manual and it requires conventional oil. Second problem with Valvoline in Port Chester NY - my driver went in for an oil change with a 3-month-old car and was harassed 3 times that he needed new blades. I checked the blades. DO NOT patronize this place (Main St. - Norwalk, Ct. location), unless you like passing away your $ unnecessarily. Pulled into the place, and the first thing they do is put my car over the work area and pull the oil plug - BEFORE they even ask the service I 'require'! It was for an oil change, as I explained after I saw them start. I went inside to give them my info first, as I assumed SHOULD be customary! I told them, at that point, JUST the oil change! The guy says to me: 'for the $40, they CHECK certain other things'. THEN - the upcharge for synthetic oil (okay, I understand, it's more than conventional). $40 became $80; plus 2 'extra' quarts, +++.
They then changed the cabin filter and the air filter, without advising me; up-charge of another $60+; oil-pan plug - $3; and started checking all the fluid levels. At that point, I stopped them and again said: OIL CHANGE ONLY, and made them put back the 'old' filters. Simple oil change ended up costing me - with a $15 coupon that they honored - $90!! This place is DEFINITELY one of 'those' places that gives these type of service centers a bad name! SO devious in their m.o. of doing the work. I wouldn't visit this place again, unless they promised me my next 3 'oil changes only' for free.

I visited Valvoline on Feb. 23rd, 2016. They were very friendly but were not attentive to details. They offered me upsells and made suggestions of things I should do next to my car such as transmission flush and things like that. Shortly after I got my oil changed. Within 2 days oil was all over my driveway. I decided to go back to Valvoline to have them make sure that there wasn't something loose or something. They told me I had a hose that was rotted, they said it was a oil line hose and they couldn't fix it but that my oil level was ok and I could check around to some mechanics in the area to get it fixed. Nobody else say a oil line leak but what they did find was the oil filter housing gasket was damaged and that where all the oil was leaking from.
So I made an appointment with the local Nissan service center to come in and have it fixed but unfortunately I never made it in because the night before my alternator which was covered in oil as well as everything else under my car went out because it was full of oil. My car stopped on me in the middle of the highway. I had 3 children in the car with me and it was late at night. I had to call a taxi to get home with all our belongings and get someone to tow my car the next day and a mechanic to fix the alternator which cost me 250 for the part and another 65 for the tow and $100 for the labor. So I called to put in a complaint because I don't feel it's right that I have to spend all this money on top of paying them $87 that went on the ground.
The store manager requested a conference call but he wanted to be defensive saying he watched a video of the oil change and he didn't see a problem. Of course not the problem, became present overnight and in my driveway he doesn't want to replace anything but said he would come to my house and fix it. I'm confused because they told me they don't fix oil leaks. So here I am out of over $600 and Valvoline is at fault.

The technician gave me the full synthetic oil change instead. He gave me $15 off which is still more than what I wanted to spend.
On my drive home, I noticed a rattling sound underneath my car. I noticed a few screws missing from the carriage shield. I also never received my emailed receipt (perhaps I misspelled. I'll give them that benefit). When I returned they apologized and replaced the screws and printed my receipt. I had a bad experience in the past and thought I would give them a second chance (pricing dishonesty, messy work, rags in engine compartment, etc.). So I went to Valvoline about a month ago for a oil change and employee didn't put on my oil filter so I left, got home. I was home for about a hour. I was leaving my home to pick up my boyfriend from work and my car broke down. It made a loud noise, started smoking and shut off on the Rankin bridge. I got it towed back to my home, come to find out the oil leaked out while I was home -- I saw all the oil in the parking lot.
So I called Valvoline and they came a couple of day later after a day of putting in complaints and arguing with them. The manager Curtis and his boss came to see what was wrong with it, saw the oil filter was off and put it back on, put oil in it. 2 weeks after, the car did the same thing -- broke down again knocking noises coming from the engine. Called again, Curtis told me put oil in it and bring it in. I made it home and was going to take them the car in morning.
Next morning was taking them the car. The knocking noise was real loud now. I was drive the car, stalled at the light when you get off the Rankin bridge and started to drift back and I notice the car turned. I tried turning it back on. It started so I pulled over in Hawkings village. I called them, told them what happened and they said they couldn't do nothing right now only if I could get the car to them.
I tried starting the car, drive it, not even a block and it stalled and turned off. I used my last tow to my home because they said even if I get the car to them it's not a guarantee they can fix it. So I called them when I got home with the car -- no answer. Called this morning Curtis and his boss is coming to look at it but he said it's not guarantee. It's their fault but I think when they didn't put the oil filter on the first time they blown my engine or motor because the car didn't have oil in it.

He says all they did was change oil. Never approaches the technician who worked on car and drove to front door, who obviously experienced the same condition. Fortunately, I live 2 miles from location and managed to drive car home. I check transmission fluid dip stick and there is no reading!
I needed to add 5 quarts of fluid before getting a reading on dip stick! Needless to say I was furious. On my vehicle the tranny drain is located in close proximity to oil drain. I went back to Valvoline and approached the same manager I had dealt with. I asked him to make things right and at least pay for the tranny fluid they most certainly drained (approx. $40.00). He denied all wrongdoing. I asked him how he could explain the loss of 5 quarts of transmission fluid. He told me the car had burned it off! This explanation was preposterous and I let him know it. Beware of Valvoline. I have had my oil changed there regularly, and I have had other issues but nothing like this. They seem to change ownership/employees frequently and therein lies the problem. BEWARE OF OIL CHANGE HERE!! After being a longtime customer of many years, I have had my last oil change with this business. And the reason is after having a periodic oil change for my car, which I always have done, and brought it to one of their chain shops, as always, in this case, the one at Valvoline Instant Oil Change at 6020 S Orange Blossom Trail Orlando, FL 32809.
I was aghast to find my $62.00 new oil change spilled all over my driveway shortly after arriving home from there because the Valvoline Tech, who operated on my vehicle during the oil change, broke the oil chamber valve and cracked the oil pan during the oil change. Later my vehicle was disabled in need of immediate repair which they at Valvoline OBT refused to do. When I called there later they said "fix it somewhere for now and bring us the bill. We're closed for the day, we will see tomorrow what we can do." (It was late Sunday evening.)
So I went to the dealership where I purchased my vehicle since it was the only place still open, and they fixed it after towing it there 2 days later. I forwarded the bill to the shop manager on Wednesday, asking for reimbursement only to the new oil pan and new oil change and work done which was caused by their own incompetence, and he utterly refused to do anything at all. I am very disappointed and do not believe this is the way you do business. I have since contacted VIOC corporate, and reported them to the BBB which by the way, they ARE NOT a BBB accredited business!!

I am an ex-employee that will come clean about the way that Valvoline Instant Oil Change actually works. I was employed with them for many years in the MN Market. They continue to drive for a $74.99 ticket which they call DOP (dollars over posted). So when you walk in there to see the basic oil change price be prepared for them to pressure you into spending more money. As far as the way they treat their employees is below par by far unless you're in their lil click of a group or in the Corporate Office. And God forbid that you fall into the glorified secretary they call an office manager. They promote people that don't deserve it by far. Especially mgrs that run the Medina location and the Cottage Grove Location. But they do know how to suck up to people.
The Area Mgrs drive around in their cars acting like they are working while almost every store is severely understaffed with the SCM is working 60 plus hours and only getting paid for 40. So at the point they are making $10/hr. They make promises to the poor hourly employees dangling a promotion in front of them. They will be nice to your face. Then backstab you 1 min later. I call it corporate politics. Don't forget that they can't keep an employee more than a yr due to people waking up and wanting to better their lives. And if you have a family, be prepared to lose out on a lot of moments. They say flexible schedules that is lie. I have read many complaints on how they denied liability for leaking drain plugs and said it was fixed. Chance are that they stripped out the pan and used a pan saver to fix it. It's a temporary fix. They always denied all claims even if they were in the fault of damaging your car. Stay away at all cost!

I had my oil changed at Valvoline in June and a few weeks later (I'm a college student and live on campus so I rarely have to drive anywhere) I noticed a knocking sound when I was on my way to a coffee shop. I couldn't pull over right away so I tried to make it to a gas station but my car died at the stop light. It was a busy intersection and luckily my car started when I turned it off and then back on again. I made it to a gas station and checked the oil -- the dipstick was completely dry. I added a quart of oil, checked again, and nothing. Added another quart, checked the dipstick, still nothing. Added a 3rd quart, checked again, and there was finally enough to show up on the dipstick so I drove one block to the coffee shop I was heading to.
A few hours later, I checked the oil and the dipstick was dry again. I walked to the gas station and bought a few quarts of oil so I could make it home, and then make it to Valvoline when they opened the next morning. When I moved my car forward, I got out to see if there was oil on the ground and sure enough, all the oil I added had leaked right away.
I drive a 2009 Pontiac G3 (66,000 miles) and have NEVER had a problem with the oil leaking. When I went to Valvoline the next day, I had to add more oil before leaving, and they said the oil leak was due to a "plug problem" but did not specify what that meant. I know nothing about cars so I didn't think to ask what they meant by that, and they "changed" my oil for free (it's not really an oil change if there's no oil to drain) and "replaced" the plug. Unfortunately, my dad was in Canada fishing and not able to use his cell phone so I didn't think to ask for any paperwork or details regarding the work they did to "fix" the problem.
I am a poor college student so I'm pretty much ** out of luck if there is any damage. But like I said, I rarely drive. So far my car seems ok except now the engine light is on but I can't afford to have someone else look at it. After reading these reviews I'm really worried that they damaged my car, then covered their ** temporarily without documenting anything. Any suggestions you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated.

He discovered that the oil pan bolt was not only the wrong bolt for my car, but that it was completely stripped as well as my oil pan. Ultimately, I had to have it all replaced ($572.81). The tech that worked on my vehicle not only put the wrong bolt on my oil pan, but did not follow proper torque specifications and completely stripped everything -- and ruined my oil pan.
I contacted Valvoline's Customer Service Department about this, prior to my mechanic working on it. They took a report from me, gave me a case # and said I would be contacted by the regional manager. A few days later the manager of that Valvoline called me. He informed me that I should bring it back to him to inspect and repair it. I didn't want them touching my vehicle a third time. We will not be responsible for repairs not authorized by our company"). Well that's what I did in the first place! I did take it back to them, and they failed twice! Why would I take it back a third time? And have them repair it improperly and possibly incur even more damage? They caused the problem, then made the problem worse, and are now refusing to pay for what they caused. Ridiculous! After I read the reviews about Valvoline service, I'm sure they have done something wrong with my car. I will bring my car to question them and will never go back this store again!!!
Updated on 07/17/2015: Went back Valvoline three times. 2:00pm: They checked and told me they couldn't find any leaking spots underneath. I left my car in the nearby park lot for over two hours to proof the car was leaking indeed. 4:30pm: They checked the car again and told me "someone" put the wrong size cap of filter but already put the correct one on -- the thread wasn't damaged and should be no problem now. They refund the oil change cost to me by sending check to me. Back home. Two hours later found out the car was still leaking. Called them again. My husband got mad and argued with the manager on the phone.
7:00pm: Drove back to check again. They finally admitted that they overtightened the cap and cracked the oil pan which needs to be replaced. Since they're not capable of doing any repairs, we can either go to the auto shop he recommends or any auto shop we prefer and get reimbursement later. We agreed. They put a temporary tape or something to stop leaking. We drove home and the oil was continue leaking for next two days.
7/15: Replaced the oil pan in my regular auto shop and delivered the receipt to the store. About hour later, received the phone call said that the check will be mailed to me in 10 days. So, the whole thing was solved ok but was time-consuming and very stressful. I believe their technicians need more auto training -- all of their employees are young and lack of experiences. It takes time for them to gain experiences but I'm not dare to take my cars to there again in a very long long time.

Over the past 6 years, I have occasionally patronized the Valvoline oil change store at 6100 N. Port Washington Road in Milwaukee, Wi. I only go there when I can't spare the time to go to my regular full service auto repair garage. This happens about 1 time per year. So I would say that I have patronized this Valvoline location no more than 8 times in 6 years. In every instance, after paying for the service, I pull out of the oil change bay and inspect the grease fittings on my front suspension. And in every instance I discovered that the employees have failed to lubricate the fittings on the front suspension and I have to go back and have it done properly, wasting my time.
Because of this habitual problem of not getting my suspension greased at this location, I have been going to my regular mechanic whenever possible. I travel 15 minutes by freeway to Advanced Automotive on 35th and State St. where qualified mechanics give me a PROPER lube job including proper lubrication of my ball joints and tie rod ends. They check the tire pressure transmission and everything else that Valvoline is supposed to do, and they don't try to run up a bill by selling me stuff I don't need like air filters and windshield wipers etc. On top of that my mechanic charges me a fair price of only $27 filter, oil, and grease included and he doesn't charge me extra for additional quarts of oil when I bring my V8 truck in.
On at least 2 occasions, I have called Valvoline corporate to complain about the situation. Each time I was contacted by their district manager who assured me that he would take care of the situation. It was all just lip service. This same problem has existed for over 6 years at this location, and nobody at corporate does anything about the poor level of service being given to their customers.
If this has happened to me every time I came in to Valvoline over a period of 6 years, can you just imagine how many many 1000's of people have gone through this one oil change center and never got their suspension greased?? God knows what else they failed to do. Once I even found that they failed to properly re-install my air filter after removing it to try and sell me a filter I didn't need. It appears that Valvoline corporate is more interested in selling unneeded air filters and windshield wipers than doing a proper job lubricating engines and suspensions. Avoid Valvoline like the life of your car depended on it… because it does. Go to a reputable garage and have your lubrication schedules done properly.

On 5/9/15 at about 3:00 (receipt is stamped 3:27) I took my son's car to Valvoline for a simple oil change. My regular mechanic is out on Saturdays for the month of May and considering we're busy during the week, I asked my mechanic if he thinks I could go to Valvoline just once. He said, "Yes, and then you'll appreciate us a whole lot more." His words could not be further from the truth!
So, there were 4 Valvoline guys standing around my car trying to sell me the synthetic oil. I kept saying "no, my mechanic always does the regular oil and I'm fine with that." They kept saying I was going to do serious damage to my engine if I didn't put the synthetic oil in. I have complete faith in my regular mechanic and kept saying I just want the regular oil. They asked who my mechanic is and I told them and he said, "Oh he's Portuguese. Are you Portuguese?" Huh? I said "no but my husband and son are." The whole scene was off. They kept reiterating how I had to sign something that says they are responsible for NO damage to my car due to the non-synthetic oil. At one point, I told them I was questioning their workmanship because, as far as I was concerned, it was a simple oil change and they couldn't stand by it.
Anyway, they changed my oil, I left and parked my son's car back in my driveway and my sister and I were leaving in her car to going shopping. We were leaving my driveway and we noticed two SUV Town Police cruisers turn into my street and turn around. As we were driving away, my sister kept looking in her rear view mirror because she doesn't like the police driving behind her. But they didn't come out of my street. So I asked her to turn around to see what was going on. By the time we got back, the police were leaving and my husband was outside. I asked him what was going on and he said the police were looking for me because the Valvoline guys called the police and said I was drinking and driving! It was this complete and total disconnect. There was nothing to suggest I was drinking. It was harassment and frankly, prejudice.
I called the police back to my house so they could see I was sober as a judge. They noted it; I also called the Corporate office and am waiting for the Regional Manager to call me back. Above all that, I'm fearful for my son to drive his car because I have no idea what they did to it. How could I possibly trust these people? I'll keep everyone posted but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NEVER go to a Valvoline again! They apparently call the police on you if a) you have darker skin, b) you're a woman, and c) you don't buy their more expensive product.

After getting my oil changed I came home. In less than a week later there was oil all over my driveway. So I went back and they found that they did not put the gasket back on my oil drain plug and that was causing it to leak everywhere. But instead of thinking of the customer and putting the customer first only thing they wanted to do was point the finger at each other and see my paperwork to see which mechanic made the mistake. All they wanted to do was argue with me and not take care of my needs as a customer.
They offered me a free oil change but I was upset they offered that because all they wanted to do was upsell me everything and make me feel like my car needed more than what it did. On my visit I spent $155 and they thought an oil change would make up for the oil in my driveway in the inconvenience on me taking time out of my day to take care of a situation that should have never happened in the first place. Very unhappy and unsatisfied having work for this company in the past and knowing the way they conduct business now would not recommend this place to anyone. I would never go back again.

I spoke with the district manager who told me that it took only 5 sections to suck out the extra oil. That wouldn't have caused my valve cover to leak. My mechanic told me otherwise. On January 16th, 2015 I had my 2002 Honda Civic with 164,543 miles serviced with a full synthetic oil change, air filter & oil filter. I paid $80 for this service. My car was running in excellent condition prior to receiving this service. Upon leaving Valvoline, I drove the car 8 miles, a loud noise from the engine quickly developed, the oil light came on & my engine seized up, on the freeway, a Friday afternoon @ 1:45 PM during a very busy Minneapolis rush hour commute.
I had my car towed to a third party shop (Bobby and Steve's Auto World) where upon review with both a Valvoline mechanic present & 4 B&S employees present, it was determined by B&S employees that my car had been fitted with the wrong oil filter. They printed up documentation for me, having cross referenced Valvoline's part number catalog, and assured me, in bold lettering, that the wrong oil filter was on my car. The Valvoline employee appeared to have the least amount of experience of any mechanic in the room, as he reluctantly asked the employees of Bobby and Steve's what they thought happened to my car, as he took various pictures (oil filter, dipstick, engine, etc...) before leaving just about as quickly as he got there.
After being given the runaround by Valvoline (Ashland Companies) for the better part of 3 weeks (numerous calls to the shop, the district manager & their customer service line), I addressed the situation with the State Attorney General's office. It was only then did I get a response from Ashland Companies (Valvoline's Parent Company), simply stating that 'upon review of the test they did on the oil filter, by way of Purolator, that the oil filter worked within specifications for the automobile listed.‘ While I am sure the filter worked correctly when given said test, it still doesn't prove in any way that my car received the proper filter in the first place, especially when I had a third party shop (who still retains my car, and is charging me by the day for storage) provide me with documentation in writing, that THE WRONG OIL FILTER WAS PUT IN MY CAR by Valvoline. Valvoline has once again resorted to ignoring my calls.
I have now been forced to retain legal counsel and am preparing to wage legal action against a company who is merely looking to get me to move along. Well, unfortunately for them, I am not moving along. So far, my expenses break down as follows: $3900 (Kelly BB estimated value for Honda Civic ruined by Valvoline), $3800 (expense to purchase 1999 Honda Accord), An undisclosed amount for retainer for legal counsel, $1243 as of 2/25/15 (cost for diagnostic, engine evaluation, towing & storage by Bobby and Steve's), $400 in lost wages (I use my car for my job, a rental was not an option given the sudden nature of the incident).
This situation has ruined my immediate financial outlook. I went from having thousands of dollars available to me in my checking account, and thousands of dollars of credit card space, to literally living week to week now, as I wait for this situation to find resolution. This is bad business, and this is a situation that people need to become aware of. Valvoline, you owe me an explanation. You owe me an apology. You owe me compensation. Your lack of interest, empathy and assistance in this situation, that you most certainly caused, but are choosing to ignore will not be swept under the rug. You cannot do this to a consumer.
Not only is my case with the Attorney General's Office still being built, but so is action through the Better Business Bureau. As stated in a correspondence with Ashland Companies from 2/17/15, which still has gone unanswered, you have until the end of the business day March 2nd to address my situation in writing or by phone to my satisfaction. If that goes unheeded, I will use the channels I have in media within the Minneapolis and St. Paul area to shed more light upon your business practices & make the consumer base at large in the know about this situation. This is unethical, this is immoral, this is wrong.
If you are a consumer, and you are reading this; copy and paste this entire post. Share it with your friends. Boycott Valvoline IOC and Ashland Properties. Ashland Insurance recorded profits of $592 million dollars last year, with a CEO claiming more than $4.5 million dollars in salary and bonuses. They are an international company with assets all over the world.

Took my car in for an oil change, at the Kendall (Miami) store, which I religiously did every 3,000 miles. After driving out of the station and getting on the highway, after a few miles, the check oil light came on. The car stopped right on the freeway and would not start. I called a tow truck who lifted the car up and showed me that the oil was pouring out of the car, where the plug from the oil change should have been. It seems they never replace the plug correctly and it dropped out somewhere along the highway. Long story short, the manager, refused to hear my case, told me that if I took the car there, he would push it out into the street, and leave it there (His exact words).
After being inspected by a mechanic at Firestone, I was told that the engine seized up without the oil in it and I would need a new engine. I wound up going to court to sue for the damages, a huge waste of my time. I won the case, but it turns out that this site is some sort of a shell company under a franchise and their lawyers went round and round to get the case thrown out. My attempts to go through a lawyer proved fruitless, unless I wanted to shell out more money than the engine replacement cost to hire more lawyers to chase them.
Lesson: it is my belief that these quick oil change places hire young kids to do the work, not mechanics, who could care less about the quality of work and in a rush to get my car out, neglected to replace the oil plug correctly. I now only go to the dealer on my NEW, yes, NEW car, since the other car was a complete loss. I even wrote my whole story to Valvoline corporate headquarters who ignored my plea. Thanks Valvoline.

When the Jeep dealership tried to do an oil change, they could not get the filter off as it was over tightened and said it would break the housing if they tried to remove it. Recently brought in my NEW DODGE Journey for an oil change with a $19.99 coupon. When they were done they came to me car ready. Bill was for $28.73. I noticed on the bill $3.59 for a quart of oil. This was ok since the car takes 6qts. Here comes the kicker, I notice a $2.99 charge. This I was told was for a "NEW DRAIN PLUG". I asked if they were kidding. A car with 4,000 miles on it. I called their office, said they would call me back, waited two weeks, no call. Took them to small claims, they gave them a month to pay. Guess what, no luck. They don't even obey the LAW.

I took my Lexus RX350 2007 model there for oil change. They recommended transmission fluid change and they changed transmission fluid. This was done on 12/22/13 and the mileage on the car was 56260. In March 2014, I noticed some problems and took it to the dealer and found that the transmission had been damaged. The mileage on the car at this time was 57517. The technician at Lexus responded Valvoline should not have done this. It is a sealed container. The Lexus maintenance manual only says to inspect and not change. Also in June 2011 Lexus had issued a service bulletin which says only Toyota WS ATF should be used else it will damage the transmission. It also says this is a lifetime fluid and does not need to be changed. I am attaching the Lexus service bulletin and the Lexus maintenance schedule.

On 9/24/13 I took my fleet VW 2012 Jetta in for an oil change at the Valvoline instant oil change in Ashland, KY 41102, as I have done many times with my fleet vehicles. The oil change before on 5/6/13 the man below did not put the screws back on the splash guard that covers and protects the entire front bottom on the vehicle. The guard fell 1/2 the way off while driving at a low speed. A police office escorted me to an AutoZone where they had screws available for a fix. I notified the manager in Ashland. He said that could have caused a serious accident.
9/24/13, both me and the manager asked twice to a guy named Mike below, "Did you put the screws in?" He said yes, twice. I got home and checked, not one screw was put in, just Gerry rigged to stay up until I hit a pot hole. I drove to a place for a fix and then confronted Mike and his response was "I thought I put the screws in." The manager wanted to fire him, but was unsure because he was a hire from the owner and a boyfriend from someone from the corporate office. I know this was a deliberate act. Another odd thing, they never use their real names under "your service team" except the manager. The guys underneath use different names on your ticket.

Went to Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Troy NY on Dec. 2 to get an oil change and a tire rotation, nothing requiring a Masters degree in mechanical engineering. When the time came to retrieve the car the wheel lock was still on the lug nut that was attached to the wheel. That alone should have triggered an alarm. After a few days had gone by there were drip marks on the ground, being retired the car doesn't get used everyday. Checked the reservoirs, oil, power steering, radiator, and brake fluid, nothing.
Called the dealer to make an appointment to check out the leak. After inspecting the problem, they found that the oil filter hadn't been tightened. The mechanic installed a new filter and topped off the oil. Emailed Valvoline Instant Oil Change to let them know and that I would like to be compensated for the bill from the dealer. Their customer support is actually worse than the mechanics that work on your car because I'm still waiting to hear from them. In the meanwhile, I'll call the credit card company to stop payment until we can work out the agreement that I proposed to them. Learned a priceless lesson by going there, never trust your car to anybody that doesn't have a reputable reputation or by checking at least three reviews online first.

Then they hit me with a barrage of things I needed done which was BULL. I told them I wanted an oil change. They danced around and hollered orders about their work. Then one of them asked about my air filter and I said leave it, as I had just replaced it. Then he held up my air filter which was smeared with grease, so I let them replace it. Then I noticed that the man was reading off the quarts I was receiving but I was watching and the dial was not moving. When I got home 10 blocks later I checked and the engine oil was dirty, they had not changed it.

I took my van to EZ Lube service gas station in Queens NY, the corner of Met Stadium location 112-44 Roosevelt Ave. All these guys are concerned about are making a buck. Customer satisfaction is of complete disrespect. They fixed my van changing my shock and shock mount. From the second day after the job was done I took the van back because of an actual noise coming from the area where the job was done. I made 3 trips to them. On the 4th trip, they did what they should have done the first time. They found a piece of hanger they used to hold the rotor. Again I heard the same noise. I took the van back. This time they confirm that the old piece they used should not have been used when they replaced the shock mount.
I brought the van back this morning which is why I am writing this note. They want to charge me another 60 dollars for their unscrupulous work. Driving back and forth was not enough because my van runs on water not on gas like everybody else. And they only have one mechanic on duty that can do mechanical work. I intend to continue their downgraded by using the internet to keep customers away from them and their malice.

I went to Valvoline for an oil change and inspection. After waiting for an hour and a half, I learned that their computer wasn't working. As a result I "failed" my inspection. It turns out that their computer could not converse with Albany - so while my car was road worthy (after all it is virtually brand new) it failed because Valvoline's equipment was not working properly. This was admitted by the staff. I explained to them that it was not proper to charge me for a service that they could not complete.
At this point in time the manager became irate and stated that, "I don't think you know what you are talking about." I made a formal complaint to the main office and the assistant agreed that if they could not complete the service then they should have explained this to me and let me leave. Instead, they let me wait for over an hour and then demand money for service they could not give. I refused to pay. Do not go to the location in Webster, NY! Better yet, go to a business that understands how to service a car and is not out to nickel and dime you to death.

10/6/13, I took my car in for a routine oil change. 5 days later, while driving to work, the oil light came on. I happened to be close to another Valvoline shop and pulled in there. I was told by the manager that there was no oil in the engine and the engine had seized. The manager gave me a ride to work and told me he would look into the situation. He called me with the name of the manager at my local Valvoline (Paul) and told me that he had notified that manager (Paul) of what had happened. In the meantime I was 45 miles away from home - I commute 90 miles per day to work and home - I called the manager at my local Valvoline who informed me that my car was being towed to an auto shop to be investigated.
This was a Saturday (10/12/13), the manager told me that nothing would be done with my car until the following Monday. I asked the manager (Paul) how I was supposed to get home and how I was supposed to get back and forth to work. He said, "I don't know what to tell you." I asked for the District Manager's name and phone number. He gave me the name, however, would not give me the phone number stating it was the weekend and the DM was at a baseball game with his kids. I asked for the Regional Manager's name and number. I was told to call the corporate office on Monday. In the meantime, I was supposed to find a way home from work at 11:00pm at night.
On the following Monday, I called the auto shop where my car was towed and was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. I called Paul, the manager of Valvoline, and he informed me that they were trying to find an engine to replace my old one. I informed the manager at that time that I had to go to the airport on Sunday and pick up a rental car (the only place open on Sunday). The manager of Valvoline told me that the company would reimburse the expense of the car no problem. I rented a Toyota Corolla which is a step down, however comparable to the Toyota Camry that I drive. I found the lowest price available and rented the best deal understanding that mistakes happen and Valvoline was doing its best to rectify the mistake.
Paul, the manager at Valvoline, told me that he was not happy because he was being summoned to the corporate office on his day off to answer for the inadequate work on my car. Paul also stated that he wasn't even in the shop the day that my car had been worked on and couldn't understand why he had been called up. He told me to call and follow up with the shop that was replacing my engine myself. I asked about the rental car and he told me again that Valvoline would take care of the cost, just bring the bill into him and he would submit it to the corporate office for reimbursement. He told me that the check would be mailed to me personally for my convenience.
10/18/13, Paul called to tell me that my car would be ready for pick up the following day 10/19/13 (Saturday). I asked Paul if he could make arrangements to have the car brought to Mt. Kisco due to the drop off of the rental; otherwise, it would be an additional charge to drop the car off 45 miles away in Poughkeepsie. Paul told me to drop the car off in Poughkeepsie and Valvoline would take care of the bill. He just wanted this situation to be over with. I dropped the rental off and went to the shop that had replaced my engine. One of the repair men came out of the office, handed me my car key and motioned around back for my car.
On 10/23/13, I hand delivered the rental car bill to the Mt. Kisco Valvoline. I asked for Paul and was told that he was not there. I left the bill with one of the gentlemen that work in the shop. He assured me that he would pass it on and it would be taken care of. I followed up on 10/25/13 and was told Paul was on vacation. The young lady that answered my call put me on hold and came back to the phone stating that the bill had been faxed into the home office for processing. 11/1/13, I called and spoke with Paul. He told me that I had never turned in the bill and therefore, I had not been reimbursed. I explained the above to Paul and he said he would look into it. The total rental with taxes and fees was 603.90 for the 7 days I had the car.
Paul called back and left a message stating that I would not be receiving the total amount. After all, the company would only reimburse $35 a day for a rental car and the total they would be reimbursing would be $225. I told Paul that it was unacceptable and he told me he was washing his hands off the situation and gave me an 800 number to call. Paul sarcastically told me to make sure I told the person at the 800 number how customer friendly he was. I am in the service business and understand that mistakes happen. I have been more than agreeable through this entire process; however, I do expect at the very least to be reimbursed for the money I had to put out for their incompetence.

As a recent employee of this company, I feel obligated to weigh in, as there are a few things bogus about some complaints here. The first, the guy saying he wanted 5w30 in his 0w20 Toyota... You are absolutely wrong. Toyota uses 0w20 in its new vehicles because the thinner oil creates less restriction on the motor and gets you better gas mileage. The engine was designed with this in mind, oil quantity and oil pump, etc. using 5w30 in that car WILL blow it up. Unfortunately, 0w20 has to be synthetic or else it burns off so it is expensive. Read your owner's manual and you will see that the only other oil you can put in that is 5w20, but that if you don't put 0w20 in on your next change, it will void your warranty.
Not all Valvolines are the same, but at the one I worked at in MN, we never tried to scam anyone. Knowing everything that's wrong with your car sometimes makes it seem like it, but it's generally true, or best guess. Even so, mistakes do happen and that always was the worst. I prided myself on workmanship. It felt horrible when something got broken.
The runaround for getting your money after your claim isn't usually them not wanting to pay, but more that the process is about 8 steps and requires a lot of contact with corporate people who aren't always available. And then after all the steps are done, it takes 10 business days to get a check cut. Anyway, just thought I'd clarify a few things. Some stores are better than others, but it's more about the employees working there than the brand itself.

I get the receipt after paying and asked if they checked everything as it was stated on the receipt that they had done it. But the guy said, "Let me double check."
Well, they did not check any of the other fluid levels other than the oil, so after about 20 minutes of them going over the fluid level checks, the guy came up to me and said the rear differential is low and if it needs more than a quart, they are going to have to charge me for the service. I told him, "I have a receipt right here that states that everything was full, so how is it that you are now telling me that it is low and I am going to have to pay for it?" They finally filled it and when I got to the other shop to get the transfer case changed, I found out that they never lubed any of the chassis parts either as stated on the receipt.
I normally do my own maintenance on my vehicles but was short on time this day so I figured I would get it done by Valvoline Instant Oil Change. Now, I know why I always do it myself. My wife came home after going for a simple $20 oil change that cost $220. She called me and said that they told her that the motor had to be flushed and as an ex-state certified auto and diesel mechanic, I knew this was a bunch of crap. I told her not to do it but she said they already started. The only way to clean a motor is by taking it apart, boring out the heads and putting new pistons and rings and new seals in it. You cannot clean a motor with a cleaner. It loosens the grime and can make it worse and that's gospel.
So she comes home from food shopping and called me because she can't back down our driveway and when I walked out the door, I smell oil burning in the air and said, "Pop the hood," and when I pulled the dipstick, there was no oil and smoke was coming out of the cap where you put oil in. I could clearly see that the inside was not lubricated; so being disabled, I crawled under the car to see if maybe ** hit a rock and there was a leak in the pan but no sign of an oil leak. Before this, our oil and car was maintained by a certified mechanic who has the repair records on our car! He chest bumped me from behind as we were viewing the bill on the screen and threatening me over and over again but I didn't respond, only with my mouth and he finally backed off.
Another mechanic came over and said he agreed with my anger towards him and the company in general because I no longer can do the things I used to do so I pay to have it done. The matter is now in Kinnelon police dept and I'm filing a complaint against the man who threatened me with bodily harm and chest bumped me; and I will not rest until there's justice in this case!

I had my oil changed on 6-5-12. The man had me leave the engine running to check the transmission fluid but he did not check it. Then today, 6-6-12, I'm looking at my tires and 2 of the 4 were 20 lbs. low on air pressure. Now, I want you to know that I take all of my automobiles to Valvoline and the only time it’s ever been anywhere else is when my wife was out of town and had to go to a service shop. I have never ever had this poor of service ever. With a $74.00 oil change, I will not stand for this kind of service. My service was performed at the Valvoline instant oil change on State St. in Westerville, Ohio. FYI, if this kind on service is what this company is going to give, I will never go back and my family and friends won't either because I'm the car guy in the family and my word is gold.

Valvoline Oil Change Debacle - I had an oil change and inspection. They stripped a lug nut and when they pulled the parking brake lever up, it stuck. Since they didn't know how to fix it, I had to drive a half mile to a service station with the parking brake on. They unstuck it for free in about 5 minutes. The Valvoline tech said he couldn't pass it because the lug nut was missing (that he stripped). I put a lock washer on it and re-threaded it. He said bring it back when I get the lug nut on.
I did so, and the first thing the guy did was pull the parking brake lever up, thus refreezing the back brakes. I made them fix it this time and told them they had better learn how to un-stick the parking brake when it freezes, so that other motorists will not have to have their cars towed. I told them that I would be lodging a complaint, for all the good it will do.

The radiator was flushed, but the tech failed to bleed the air bubbles from the line when he refilled it, causing the thermostat to fail and the valve did not open to allow the water to flow. The car started to smoke and I had to find the nearest garage to find out what had happened. It had overheated to the point that the pipes seem to melt to the touch. The mechanic removed the thermostat so that I could get home from Chula Vista to Los Angeles. I have been a loyal customer for 5 years, servicing 3 different vehicles over that time. I brought my step son's vehicle today for the first time for an oil change and inspection. The "manager", Josh, told me I needed the synthetic oil for this car, a Kia Rio. I told him I didn't need that oil and could he look at the computer to see what was being put in my other two vehicles for the past 4-plus years. He said he couldn't get that information because each vehicle is different. I asked him to explain how he couldn't look in the computer to check the type of oil I use and he said he wasn't sure how to. I was now very frustrated with his ignorance or unwillingness to satisfy a customer. I asked for his manager’s phone number and he said he was the manager.
I asked for the name of the person he reports to and he gave me a business card for Steve **. I called the number while standing in front of this unprofessional Josh person and then he said, "Oh, that's the number for Steve when he's here.” Apparently, he thought that was funny because he laughed at me. I asked him for another number or contact and he said there was none. I asked who he would call if there was an accident to a customer's vehicle or an employee accident, and he said he wouldn't know. I am extremely disappointed with this experience and the unprofessional behavior of this manager. I have been a loyal customer for 5 years and have always been satisfied. I stopped in to my local Valvoline Express Care for an oil change. While I was there, I asked if they could try and locate a squeak or "chirping" sound that was coming from somewhere around the engine. Mind you, I had a mobile mechanic come to my place of work the day before to try to locate this noise. He took off the belt and inspected the pulleys and was not able to find the source. That’s why I thought I'd have the Valvoline guys give it a try. Big mistake! As they always do when you go for an oil change, they will "suggest" fixing this or replacing that. Well, they told me (and showed me) that my belt was cracked and dry, which it was to a certain extent. So I said they could replace it.
But the noise that we were trying to locate was the water pump! Now, the other mechanic didn't think so, but these guys did. They even brought out what they said was my old pump and started feeding me some mambo-jumbo about the thingamajig and the whatchamacallit. I asked explicitly if they were sure it was the water pump and he said yes, it was going bad and needed to be replaced. So, reluctantly, I said to go ahead. Well, after spending $162.00 for the pump, $90 for the thermostat, and $250.00 labor plus the cost of the oil change, I drove away thinking that was over with, car fixed.
Wrong! I had no sooner driven it a couple of miles back home and the noise started up again. I had to go to work so I could not take it back to Valvoline till the next day. When I went back, I was irate to say the least. The same mechanic was there and could not understand why it was still making the noise, so he got under the hood and probed around and even got out the stethoscope to listen close-up. Nothing. He started in with the mechanic talk again without coming to any conclusion. He even wanted me to go to a parts store to buy a can of Lucas lubricant, to which I replied are you crazy? You want me to go spend more money after what I've been through? Well, they got the lub, but still nothing. Noise is still there. He even wanted to bring some computer from home to my work to hook up the car. No way, you’re not touching this car again. So I am still looking for a mechanic I can trust and hope the noise doesn't result in something more serious.

I went to get my oil change on Friday, 02/03/12, at 20860 Sherman Way. Canoga Park, CA 91306. My service was done by Upper **, which I understand is a manager at this location. Minutes after I had left EZ Lube, my oil light came on. Then my car started shaking and then right after my "check engine light" also lit up. I pulled over and called EZ Lube and explained what happened. A person, which was the assistant manager (forgot his name--possibly Lower **) came out to where I was and checked the vehicle. After he checked it the oil and check engine lights turned off. The problem was that I had no coolant. It was completely empty! Per the service checklist stated: “coolant overflow tank--visual OK.” The assistant manager attempted to contact the manager by phone several times, but he never answered. The assistant manager said there was some fluid leaking from my radiator and may have been a precondition issue, which was not. I had never had a leak from my radiator.
I have always taken my vehicle to get my oil change to EZ Lube and they would have noticed if my car was leaking some type of fluid and I would have definitely been told about it there and would have been on the recommendations. But since it was Friday and probably almost closing time, I don't think he bothered to really check my vehicle. I am paying for someone to service my vehicle and tell me what I need, but I was not told anything. I am very dissatisfied with the service I received that day and frankly afraid to take my car back to EZ Lube. However, old worn parts that are working without any obvious problem will become a problem simply because this oil is thin and will pass through warn out part where conventional oil would not have. The serviceman then explained that my car needed an additional "air filter". He explained that they didn't have one, but that I could stop by at the end of the week, and they could replace it for me quickly. I was dissatisfied with this because I felt I should have been notified of the low inventory proceeding my car work. The inspection I requested showed that my radiator was "okay" on January 8, 2012. The only recommendations were an intake system cleaning, power steering service, and transmission service at 90,000 miles. The assistant manager assured me that my car was in excellent condition.
I obliged to his request, and returned on January 13, 2012 for the completion of my work order. I was greeted by a manager upon arrival. I tried to explain the purpose of my visit to Arthur **, the store manager, but once he understood that I was not paying for a product I had already paid for, he asked me to wait, and serviced a gentleman who had come after I had arrived. Once he got to speak with me, 40 minutes later, I explained my plight again. I was told that I would have to come back another day when the assistant manager was present. I told Mr. ** that was ridiculous, and all he had to do was bring up my invoice with the information on it.
He argued with me about this in front of customers, before finally stepping out, calling his assistant manager on the phone, and confirming everything I had attempted to tell him. At this point, Mr. ** tried to charge me $30 for the filter. I again, reiterated that I wasn't planning on paying for this service. Mr. ** replied, "I already put it in, if you want, I can take it off and replace your old one.” I told him that I didn't appreciate his tone, and to please remove it. He then tried to offer me a $5 rebate if I kept it in. I refused again.
Two minutes after I drove away, my car began to violently lurch back and forth! All my sensors came on my dashboard, and I put on my hazard lights. I made a U-turn and returned to EZ Lube store no. 111. Mr. ** said that he forgot to turn off my sensors, and began to do so. While he was doing this, he popped my hood, and was doing something under the hood. At the time I thought nothing of it.
I left the store, and headed to Moreno Valley. Thirty-five minutes later at my destination, I parked and smelled a burning smell. My hood began to smoke, and hot radiator fluid was gushing out of my cars underside! I allowed it to cool, and took it to a lube shop in Moreno Valley. They informed me that my radiator was "bone dry". When they checked my cars "pan", they said that large amounts of coolant was found sitting there. The lube shop graciously filled my radiator with fluid for me, and I left. I told them that was impossible that my radiator had been empty as I had just had the fluids topped off on January 8th at EZ Lube in Corona. I then called Mr. ** at EZ Lube, and informed him of my car’s condition.
He said, "Bring it back and I’ll take a look at it and fix it." I informed Mr. ** that I was over 30 miles away and that my car wouldn't make it that far. Approximately, 20 minutes after I left the lube shop, my car began to overheat! My engine shut down and would not start. I pulled over and called AAA. I only was able to tow the car 7 miles to the nearest shop, as every mile over this limit, would have been 29 miles, and $10 per mile! I parked my car at Auto Tech 1735 Third Street, Riverside, CA 92507, where it is now parked until Monday. I paid a fee of $47.50 as a diagnostic charge, but seeing as they were just closing as I arrived, they could not tell me what was wrong with it.
If the radiator and the engine were damaged in any way, I will hold EZ Lube responsible for the damages to my car, as it was in excellent condition before it received service at their store. I am prepared to potentially file for damages against Mr. ** for fraud, tampering, and recklessness against my person and property. The fees I acquired from AAA ($120), as well as Auto Tech in Riverside (so far $50), the coolant I purchased ($12), and a refund of my oil change ($75.78), my gas ($60), as well as an apology from the store manager is what I am now seeking.
If the engine has been compromised, as well as any other parts of my vehicle stemming from this, I will be forced to seek further punitive damages. I am writing EZ Lube Corporate to see what interventions they are prepared to offer for my car and personal safety, which was danger after a quick visit to store no. 111. Please contact me ASAP so we can rectify this situation quickly. I look forward to hearing from you. I warn everybody, do not go to EZ Lube!

My son had just returned from Iraq where he saved all his earnings to get himself the car of his dreams. A 1988 Classic Chrysler Conquest with turbo. He invested in new high performance parts, new low profile tires with alloy rims and new paint job and a really nice sound DVD system. Even had a beautiful front air dam installed which was very difficult to find. The car was put together by state registered professionals in Atlanta and Ft. Lauderdale and drove beautifully from FL to TN without a problem. The car has been parked in my son's very clean driveway since December 2011 and there was never a sign of oil leak in the engine or on the driveway.
On January 15th, I decided to get an oil change at Valvoline in Oak Grove across from Walmart's and that was the biggest mistake ever made with this car. First off, I sat in the car while work was being done and it took them a while digging in the engine as well as under in the bay. I did hear the guy below yell "there's no gasket". I don't know what he was referring to as this car was running perfect prior to going there. I did not hear the automatic oil machines clicking so I assumed they put new oil from the bottles. Then the mechanic just stopped by my window and barely flashed the oil dip stick in my face and said "see the stick?". As a nurse, I am very observant and I noticed that the stick looked very clean but there was no sign of shiny oil on it. I wanted to say something to him but he walked away so fast and I did not want to get on their bad side by double checking or questioning their work.
I was done, drove out and went next door to the car wash. That very night, I did drive about 50 miles to Erin and on my way back, the engine became jumpy and jerky and I felt like there was no power in the car. I was almost home so I just parked in the driveway and went inside. The next day, we were headed for Evansville, IN and I habitually decided to check my other fluids.
I felt there was no need to check the oil as I had just done an oil change, but I still pulled out the dipstick and when I looked at it, there was the old dirty oil at the end of the stick almost up to first mark and what looked like a bit of residue oil. I thought it was very strange as I have changed oil many times before in various places and never saw the stick look like this. It looked as though the oil pan was drained but not completely and no new oil was put in. I said to my son, maybe the old oil has to burn out because this car has a turbo. I was trying to find a logical reason for this.
We then filled the car completely with mid-grade gas and headed on I24. After about 15 minutes or so, we started seeing a lot of smoke and realized that it was coming from our car. I immediately knew something was wrong and turned around to head back to Valvoline. We didn't get very far. I managed to pull to the shoulder when the car started with knocking sounds and completely died. While looking at the engine, a good samaritan, Lee from KY, stopped and offered to take my son to get oil as he saw that there was absolutely no oil in the engine. The oil was all over the engine and on the car. When we tried to put the oil back in the engine, it was flowing right through to the ground. We had the car towed back to the VIOC in Oak Grove, which was closed on Monday, Jan 16. I left the car there but had to keep checking on it as it's a beautiful classic car and very rare.
The next morning when I went there, they claimed that I came there with my car already leaking oil and went under the care and started doing stuff; tightening and probing, etc. I don't know what they did in the engine too. I asked what kind of filter was used and I was told "an old-fashioned filter". I was shocked to hear such garbage. They then said to me that my Cam Shaft Seal was no good and that's what caused all my oil to leak and damage my engine and they have nothing to do with that. All I went there for was an oil change. They indicated on the invoice that everything was checked and was good, nothing about any oil leaks and I knew there was none. They called the regional manager and had my car towed to their service location for their mechanic to check out the problem. That guy just started pulling plugs and wires and the engine started looking like it was being assembled. He could not find the problem.
Suddenly, he pulled out the cam shaft seal at the back of the engine and started yelling "somebody put the wrong part in this car and that's why your engine blew, that has nothing to do with us but I could get you a quote for a replacement". He went to his office and came back with a quote for $3800.00 and said that they have the engine right now and I could get it done right away. When I refused, they said that I could leave my car there and I would have to pay the tow truck myself to get it out of there, which I did.
I actually called the police to file a complaint but was told that it was a civil matter and I should report them to the Better Business Bureau. My son is on active duty at Ft. Campbell and this is a real problem as he needs his car for work. VIOC is going to be held liable for this one way or another as I do intend to make them pay for the restoration of this car, which was recently built and was driven over 1500 miles without a glitch until that visit to VIOC.

I was told it would take 10 minutes for the procedure. 15 minutes or so later, the tech apologizes saying he had to call the manager who was on his way back to the shop to assist with the job due to the fact that the model of car (2000 Bonneville) needed special handling with bleeding the brakes. The manager came and went under the hood for a few minutes then said "Sorry for the wait. This model requires someone who knows what they are doing or it could cause a nightmare for you".
No sooner than I pull out the doors and brake to stop before pulling out into the main road did I notice the brake went all the way to the floor, which was not a problem when I drove to the Valvoline. I entered the main road traffic and the brake light came on. Now, I need to go up the block and make a u-turn to get back to the Valvoline and figure out what went wrong. I went up the block and back and the fluid was leaking and just about empty! I pulled back in and the manager looked under the car and explained that the brake line was leaking. I have spent the past few days trying to get the car to a repair shop. This location scams their customers. I have been a customer at this Valvoline for a number of years, bringing 5 cars to them. I have since moved away, and haven't visited in two years. On Sunday, 12/04/11, as soon as I pulled in, the midget with glasses says "your car needs a special oil filter, $14.99". Then when I paid, they also charged me an extra $7.48 for oil. I was in a hurry and didn't want to deal with it then, so I paid it and left. Big mistake. I drive a 2009 Toyota Camry SE V6. I found out the next day that they shouldn't have charged me for extra the oil. That's included in the $29.99 oil change price. It doesn't need a special oil filter. Pep Boys sells it for $4, and Toyota for $5 (they just tell people they need a 'special oil filter' to inflate their prices).
I called the Manager, Memo **, who stumbled to answer my questions about the extra charges. He said they charged me for the oil because I must've needed more than 5 quarts. I told him my car only takes 4.3 quarts. He got silent. They won't refund me the excess charges, so I did some digging. I found out that they are no longer a franchise of Valvoline, for more than 2 years now. They are a 'service center' which serves exclusive Valvoline products. So, if you are looking for Valvoline quality, reputation, or problem resolution, you will not get it here. Also, they display a Better Business Bureau accreditation plaque in their waiting room. Oops! They aren't actually accredited. Check it out: **. I wonder how the BBB will feel about this false affiliation. Maybe I'll ask.
This is one of those dishonest mechanic stores that you hear about in the media. I am willing to bet that if you audited their records for 'Special Oil Filter' charges, you'll see how many people they've scammed. They are charging their customers (me, and many others, just look up the reviews) for 'special oil filters' and 'special air filters' in order inflate their revenue. This dishonest practice needs to stop. Mechanics already have a bad reputation for taking advantage of consumers!

She spent 1 1/2 hours and they did not know how to clear her "due for service" light on her dash. That should have been our first clue that they were not Mercedes specialists or any type of professional specialists.
A month later she was driving home in LA at 1am and her tire pressure readout on her dash kept dropping. She called us in OH, because she was afraid to pull over alone on the highway. We told her to drive home and call AAA in the morning. The tire was completely flat in the morning and she went to a knowledgeable Just Tires store down the street. That is where she was informed that her tires were rotated during her recent oil change.Tires on a Mercedes are different sizes (rear and front) and this caused the tires to rub in the wheel well until they damage the tire. You cannot put front tires at the back on a Mercedes. EZ Lube mechanics had no idea.
We were fortunate that she did not have an accident from a blow out due to this stupid error. I wrote to the company and CEO Guy Marsala was very concerned, he called me immediately. But, then he went out of the picture and another EZ Lube rep called. He did not seem to have the same concern for her safety or the unprofessional service that has been rendered. He said he would send a check for the replacement of the tire and $19.99 for the tire rotation, which she never asked for and should not have been done or charged. I was very disappointed that they felt it only necessary to pay the expenses that they caused.
They had no concern for all the time she spent repairing, missing work, and the danger that has been put on our daughter. They had no concern in displaying quality customer service. I have to say that there is a flaw in the training of the so-called professionals at EZ Lube, in coupons not being explained correctly, the added services, the long wait times for an oil change, and the uncaring customer service personnel at the home office and a real lack of concern. I was not asking for anything in particular over the tire cost. But, you would think that they would at least reimburse me for the overpriced oil change since it caused such a mess, much wasted time and our daughter to be put in danger. Nothing.
I did get a nice message on my answering machine from the CEO, But no real regret from EZ Lube. My exact cost of the new tire and the tire rotation refund check arrived in an envelope with no apology. I don't think they even deserve one star since they put a consumer in danger and the wheel rotation has been a huge, dangerous mistake!

Brought 2011 Chevy Cruze in for oil change. Handed the $18.99 coupon and was told we couldn't use. They said it would cost $79.99 for this car because it need the expensive oil. Why don't they state this on their coupons? It seems they never honor the coupon price! Scam to get you in there. We took it to the Chevy dealership and got it done for half the price along with inspection and tire rotation. Never again will we go back!
