Omega Auto Care coverage

Omega Auto Care covers cars up to 15 years old with up to 250,000 miles. This is on the higher end of the market in terms of both mileage and age.

Most Omega Auto Care warranties cover a car for five years, but there are also plans that don’t last quite that long. Omega Auto Care has a typical waiting period of 30 days and 1,000 miles before coverage kicks in. Repairs can be made at any licensed repair facility. To file a claim, just call Omega Auto Care’s claim department.

All Omega Auto Care warranties come with roadside assistance, trip interruption insurance and rental car reimbursement. 

  • Roadside assistance includes vehicle fluid delivery, towing, lockout services, flat tire changes and jump-starts.
  • Rental car reimbursement values vary by plan, but the most common is $30 per day for up to five days.
  • Trip interruption reimbursements are $75 per day for up to three days. You must be 100 miles or more from home to qualify for this, though.

Omega Auto Care’s Road Hazard Coverage also pays up to $400 to cover repairs on your tires (limit $100 per tire).

    My car was getting to the end of its actual warranty and I needed an extended warranty. I found Omega and I've been very pleased with it. I have not had to have a lot of things done with my automobile since using that extended warranty, but I always kind of call first to make sure that I'm doing it in the proper fashion. I have a person that our family uses and takes care of it for me. I pay my deductible, and I don't worry about it from that point forward. I put my husband’s truck on there and the rep said they would treat it as a new vehicle. Everything is covered, the same as with mine. Mine's getting older but the parts aren't getting any cheaper, and neither is labor.

    My car has been taken care of, though I don't know when mine renews again. But we will always have extended coverage because the cost of labor now is unbelievable. So, it is worth it for peace of mind for us to be able to know that there is someone that we can call. And Omega is honest with us, as far as if it covers it. If it doesn't, that's part of it. I would tell anybody about Omega. We have two vehicles covered with them and I love most that by having this warranty, I have no worries.

      We have had good service from Omega. We've had several things done. We usually take the car to the dealer, and they call in a claim to Omega and let us know what they will cover, what they're going to fix, how much, and the deductible, and then they fix it. One time, the fee didn't go through, and we called to see why not. I don't know what was going on with the system or the card, but it went through. So far, we haven't had any problems with that. Omega covers a good amount of everything. The improvements over time have been okay. When we first started with Omega, it took so long to get through to make a call and put in a claim. Then, once they took it back to where the dealer had to call you all or whoever was repairing the car had to call you all, they got through a little bit quicker. We never had problems, and we're satisfied with Omega.

      I have a Ford F-150, and I have used my policy for a wheel bearing. I took it to the dealership and gave them the phone number for Omega, and they called Omega and dealt with it. The price was reasonable for what I got. The only issue I had was making sure that you got the right Omega company when you're calling them to discuss or check on your policy. People should be careful because there are other scammers who claim they are Omega.

      A Mercedes car is very expensive to fix. I got an insurance policy for repairs from Omega and I have it for three years now. So far, the service has been very good. I recently got the suspension air springs front fixed for my vehicle at Mercedes of Fort Pierce and they did a very good job. I was without my car for three days but I didn't ask Omega for a rental. I didn't need one. Overall, they were easy to work with and I would tell others to use them.

      My alternator claim to Omega went really well and everything was fine. The only thing is when we sent the information to the shop to fix it, it got mixed up in the spam. So, we couldn't find it for a couple of days. My experience wasn't difficult. I just thought I would get a little bit more for the coverage of the thing than I got. My mechanic also thought I should get a little bit more. He said they were trying to find that he didn't know what he was talking about so they were looking for an excuse not to send him any money. He thought that was mean-spirited. He said they asked him like 60 questions to prove that he knew what he was doing.

      I'm paying Omega almost $97 a month and I paid almost $500 for my alternator, but all Omega covered was only $200. So, I'm seriously thinking of canceling it because it's not worth it for me to be paying money and not receiving what I thought that I had. At first, I was told that when my mechanic called, they were telling them, "Well, she's not covered. It's canceled," but I'm on a month-by-month warranty. So when I called them, we got to the bottom of it. I'm not satisfied with Omega at all. When I got this policy, I was not told that they would just cover a fraction of what the cost would have been.

      They called me about a Auto Warranty policy that was suppose to be bumper to bumper but after I sighed upon they sent me an Email saying it was a Power Train Warranty and that everything is not covered. They did this on Saturday, but when I looked up The Affordable Auto Shield Website, nothing for the site comes up to show what is actually covered and I see Omega is what they are, apparently selling and not "Affordable Auto Shield." The only thing that shows for Affordable Auto Shield is that it is apparently a Scam.

      I had a claim for my radiator which I did over the phone. The initial rep from Omega Auto Care was okay. There was some issues with the repair shop and Omega trying to get it paid, and it was the other reps that I had trouble with down the line. When I called to find out information about the delay in paying the repair shop, they wouldn't tell me, and I'm the owner of it. They wouldn't tell me where the payment was. I had to get the repair shop to call them. I had to go down there so I could be in person with the repair shop, and we called to figure out what was going on with the payment. As the owner of the policy, anytime I call and ask information, I should be given the information because I paid for it. That's the only thing I didn't like.

      I've only been with Omega Auto Care for only a year and two months. I've had a couple of issues with them as far as the customer service is concerned. I'm very big on customer service. The first interaction that I had when I was calling to ask a general question from when I signed up, I had a bad interaction with a gentleman. He refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor after I asked numerous times because of how he was speaking to me. He wasn't willing to transfer me. He was like, “They fire people here for that.” It was a little weird for me, so I finally hung up. Then I called back, and I got my salesperson on the phone. He transferred me over directly to a supervisor. When I did call back another time, I was speaking to a supervisor because of another bad experience. He informed me that the person that I spoke to was no longer with the company.

      The second interaction that I had was when the young lady texted me trying to let me know that I was wrong. She assumed that my payment was late and I owe Omega a payment. I told her that that was already satisfied, and she said that was for the previous month. Maybe she may have gotten her customers mixed up. My daughter is with Omega as well, so they charged my card twice. I didn't appreciate with her trying to tell me that that was last month. We were talking about this month's payment. I got that straightened because I spoke to a supervisor about that.

      I also don't know what was happening with their billing system. I talked to someone in billing and I told him, “Well, this is the second month of me having to call you guys because you charged the card for one, but I'm used to you guys charging it for both vehicles. And I didn’t like having to call you guys to take the payment." He was like, “Okay. I'll change the date on it,” but he never asked. He just moved it to the 16th. He didn't ask me what date was okay with me. He just assumed that the 16th was a good day. So, when I brought it to his attention, he didn't like that and I addressed it.

      I can see why some customers feel pressured to accept Omega’s “goodwill” offers when they’re put in a difficult position, but I cannot accept it. My claim was not handled fairly, and their delays and denial have already caused me significant financial loss—far beyond what my rental coverage would even allow. On top of that, they denied my request for a flexible payment plan, leaving me with no reasonable options. Now I’m being forced to pay out-of-pocket arbitration fees just to pursue what should have been handled properly from the start. This has created ongoing financial hardship for me, and the goodwill offer doesn’t come close to covering the damage caused.

      I will never refer anybody to Omega Auto Care because there are other companies out there that don't make you jump through hoops to get things done. I thought Omega was a scam at first. The lady assured me, "No. This is legit. You needed to purchase this before you hit the 60,000-mile mark. It's like extended warranty that covers things that may go out on your car,” which I decided to go with it. It was a bit pricey. But my warranty was about to expire. I don't know if that is what the average cost is. They let me do a monthly payment plan, which I finished paying off six months ago. It was $3,500.

      My experience at first was horrible. When I would take my vehicle to the dealership, Omega Auto Care would not answer the phone. I tried several different times. I went to two dealerships, and when I first got the warranty, they answered right away. What I needed to have done wasn't covered, which was a tire. I paid a nice sum for that warranty. I wanted to at least get my money's worth out of it because I went two years without using it. They had such a difficult time getting in contact to get approval for anything. I said, "I'll never refer anybody to this company for this reason.”

      The guy at the dealership stopped his day, left on hold to get everything verified because I had a big job that needed to be done. So, I told them, "Do whatever you have to do to get through to this company," which is like pulling teeth to get anybody to respond, answer the phone, verify, approve the work, which is something that they said that with this company you have to do. My guy at the dealership told me he just calls the other company and tells them the vehicle needs this, this, and they pay for it. But with Omega, a lot of times their representatives do not answer the phone. There's some engine work I had to have done. They wanted the guy to take the engine out and take a picture of what needed to be done, which was senseless to me. It made no sense like if they take my whole car apart to take a picture of it and they don't approve it, that means you'd have to put the car back together.

      When I first got this policy, there was something that was covered, it's like a maintenance, pre-maintenance package that was covered, which wasn't made clear to me until after I had it for six months that I got all this maintenance work done on my vehicle. The lady said, "We would have covered that if only you had called in and got it preapproved first.” I paid additional money out of my pocket to get work done that would be covered under this Omega policy. I wasn't happy about that. It's $700 worth of all maintenance stuff.

      I've always been one to keep up the maintenance on my car whatever it is that needs to be done because I plan on keeping it. So, if they tell me I need X, Y, and Z, I'm gonna get it done. But I wasn't made clearly that this pre-maintenance work that I paid for out of my pocket would have been paid for. I paid for it first and tried to submit a claim for it and Omega said, "No. You have to get approval first and then we pay.” That was money that I paid out of my pocket that I shouldn't have.

      I found a policy that I signed years ago. It was a two-year period of time when I didn't have anything done to my car. I just paid for it out of my pocket. That's why I'm so upset, because some of those things that I paid for out of my pocket would have been covered. I took out a whole day to pull up that contract that I signed, and I combed through it with a fine-tooth comb to make sure I didn't miss anything that would be covered from then up until the warranty expires. Again, it's still even if there's something that my car needs, you gotta call, first of all try to get through, explain what it is, which I understand, but the turnaround time is a 1-star for me. I would always tell the dealership, "They would take my payment out like clockwork, no questions asked. It was on automatic draft.” That's what made me so upset because me as a consumer, Omega takes my money, but it's like pulling teeth to get a service from them that I've been paying for.

But they ended up paying for it because I told them that they had so long to pay it, or I'm gonna cause problems. I shouldn't have to go through that kind of experience. I'm satisfied that they paid for it, but the experience that I had to go through was not very good. It ticked me off.       The worst part of my experience with Omega was getting ahold to the people to let you know they had to call the Ford place, and Ford place had trouble getting ahold to them. You had to stay on the line for 40 minutes in between stuff just to talk to them. When I gave my card to the Ford place, they were the ones that started the claims process, and they couldn't get ahold of them. I tried it, and I stayed on the phone for 45 minutes for it. I stayed on the phone until somebody picked up. I stayed down at the Ford place, and I gave it to them, and they talked to them through my phone, and they put up everything that needed to get done.

He was texting me, too, on the phone.       I filed a claim with Omega and it took seven months. I was not happy about it at all. First of all, three different shops told them I needed an engine, and they kept bull crapping around. Some of it was their fault, and some of it wasn't. It took six months to get my engine. It was like they were looking for anything not to pay for it. I was really upset because they only reimbursed me for not even five days of rental. The first shop that I took my car to told me what needed to be done but that they couldn't do it, so I went on Omega’s site to places that they recommended because the place my original shop recommended wouldn't be able to even look at my car for two weeks. The problem was that the shop that Omega's site recommended was the worst shop ever. They put in that they did work that they didn't do. They didn't respond. It was like they were avoiding calls. They still have them on their site as a recommended place, but it was the worst shop I've ever dealt with in my life.

      I had another experience with them where I had something done, and it actually went pretty quick. The only problem was the shop was having trouble getting in touch with somebody to get it confirmed. I thought Omega covered more stuff than they do, so in some ways, they're good. But in some ways, they're not. They have some great people who work for them and then they have some really ignorant people. I don't plan on sticking with Omega.

      I was looking for some service for my '19 Tahoe and when I did a little research, Omega came up along with about five other companies. Omega was cheaper, so I signed up with them. I've had it for a while, but it's shitty. I had a transmission put in my vehicle and it took over three weeks for me. I was without a vehicle and they were taking their time, then no one communicated with me or let me know anything. I got my transmission fixed and I still hadn't been contacted by Omega. They don't follow up and they don't even contact their people. Every time I called, I got a recording or I got a bad-attitude person on the phone.

      The claim for the electric power steering pump on my 2017 Ram pickup was long, and the process was dragged out. After I took my vehicle to the shop and they verified what it was, we had to wait for an adjuster to come and verify it again. Then Omega wouldn’t pay for the part. They sent their own part because they didn’t want to pay the price. It was probably an aftermarket part, which isn’t what they said they were going to do when I got the service. Then I had to wait for that part to come in and for the shop to put it on before I could even get my vehicle back. The process took over a week and I wasn’t happy with the way it went. The rep got the job done, but it should have been a lot faster.

      Omega also didn’t pay enough to get any vehicle. The price they were offering for a rental was for a small vehicle and nobody had anything that would do what I needed. So, I ended up renting a U-Haul. There was one day when I took my truck to a shop in Kennett with the same company name, and they wouldn’t take Omega’s insurance. I had to go back and get my truck and go through the whole process again. Then I took it to Dexter, to the same company, and they worked it out with Omega and got it done. That part was a hassle, but I don’t know if it was Omega's fault or not.
