I went into a dealer ship called boss chrysler in New york. I was checking out a toyota because i hear they a great cars. The dealer there changed my mind to look into the Pacifica 2005 Chryslter. I loved the car after having the car for 3 months the Axel broke it left me in the middle of the street. I had it repair for a month later it happens again. After that the engine light started to come on. My axel would break at least onces a month. This was one of the worst car i have ever owned. I spent over $2000 in repairs with in one year. Chrysler did not want to take the car but only take my payment. In fixing the car at least once a month i was late with my payments and Chrsyler did not help at all. I recently lost my employment due to the economy Chryslter finance did not understand left the car for another two month and then repo the car. My credit now ruined and i can't get another car my car payment was $487 a month and Chryslter did not even give me a solution they are the worst i would never and will advise anyone not to ever buy a chrsylter car.

I purchased a 2006 Chrysler Pacific with 20,000 miles. Until recently I have been happy with my car. In August, my check engine light came on. I was told I needed a coil pack replaced. This was done under warranty work. Now, 10,000 miles late, my engine light is back on and once again I need a coil pack replaced. This time it will not be covered under warranty, even though the coil is less than a year old. Even though this may be the problem, I have been told that in the end, my car may need a valve job. I only have 45,000 miles on this car, why do I need a valve job? I have been told Chrysler is aware of this problem and have even sent a bulletin out to dealers/mechanics, but they will not take responsibility for it.

i bought a used chrysler pacifica, with 20,000 miles. i also bought the extended warrant. i drove it to montana, from the start of the trip, the windshield kept me wet, with water running out of the door facing. also,i found out the plate was missing out of the transmission that stops you from taking the key out except in park. so i could have the transmission in any gear and take the key out, it would roll. i got those problems fixed in montana. i get back from montana and i feel my steering having a sloppy field to it, so i take it to the dealer, and its the outer tie rods, bad, at 40,000 miles. i had to pay the deductible to get that fixed, then i start to hear a click click click noise when i turn my wheel or put my foot on the gas, or take it off.,i take it to the dealer, its the front hub assembly.it seems that chrysler found out they had problems with those and issued a bulletin on what to do, but no recall. they said, take the front hub assembly off, and put in a gasket to act as a spacer and keep the two pieces of metal from rubbing together. now, does anyone see the logic here, they know 2 pieces of metal are rubbing and they dont issue a recall either, ,they make you pay the 100 deductible up front again, to fix a problem they know exist. i think that i will never ever have another chrysler product. they used to take care of their customers and the vehicles, and used to build a quality one, not anymore. has anyone else had these problems?? lynda

We own a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica that doesn't even have 100,000 miles and has to have an engine replaced... I contacted Chrysler Corp. and was told to take it to a certified dealer and have a diagnostic test done to confirm what my mechanic had already said and to call them back to see if they could help with the repair. After doing what they asked me to do knowing the mileage when they requested the diagnostic, I was informed that it was my problem not theirs. Seems that even Chrysler doesn't expect their own product to be reliable to 100,000 miles. And even worse, they wouldn't even pay the $215.00 for the tow and test to be run so they just cost us even more money for their lack of ethics. We will definitely not be buying anymore Dodge or Chrysler products and will be getting rid of this car as soon as I put the $7000.00 engine it. Seems like they should have to be responsible for the product that they produce. Also, the dealer is saying that the oil pump failed so why didn't an engine light come on??? This could have resulted in a huge accident if this engine had completely thrown the rod on a freeway... But hey, what do I know? I'm just the consumer!

My 06 Chrysler Pacifica has 40,000 miles on it and we are on our 3rd set of brakes of which I have had to pay for the last set. Now the ABS light is on permanently. This is a leased vehicle of which is out of warranty and only have 3 payments left on it. When we first complained about the brakes and the problems stopping vehicle at 9,000 miles, tech told me I didn't know what I was talking about and it was fine. Being a woman who doesn't believe I don't know what I am talking about, WE called the owner who then had the service manager ride in the vehicle and found that the brakes needed replaced because they were warped.

At 21,000 miles the car began having the same problems again with the braking system. Again took it to the dealer who said brakes are warped again and needed replaced. We are now on our 3rd set which we paid for out of our pocket because service manager refuses to put us through to owner who also refuses to answer my husband's calls, telling us that this is a normal problem to have brakes replaced every 12,000 miles and be warped like this. My husband said, "How many other Pacificas have you had to replace brakes on 3 times with in 38,000 miles?" "WELL SIR, NONE THAT I CAN RECALL," was his answer. So how is it common if they aren't doing this to all Pacificas coming in?

Our new brakes now have 3,500 miles on them and the problem is starting over. We have 4 payments left on our lease and the ABS light is now on permanently of which this entire time has been intermittent (which they could not repeat or pull up on computer, what happen to the good ole days when service guys actually serviced the cars and diagnosed properly instead of a computer doing their job). IF THE COMPUTER MAKES THEIR JOB EASIER TO DIAGNOSE, THEN WHY IS IT SO DAMN EXPENSIVE FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE IT SINCE IT SUPPOSEDLY TELLS THEM IN SECONDS!!!!

I have written to Chrysler who lets me know all is well and they appreciate my business and there are other 5 star dealers in my area... I don't want to drive my car at all safety wise let alone drive it more than 10 miles to get it fixed and pay for it to be fixed again all to turn it in and pay for some other poor schmuck to end up with this piece of crap! There needs to be a recall on the ABS braking system and possibly someone needs to take a look at my vehicle as far as why anyone would need to put brakes on a car 3 times in less than 40,000 miles. It is very scary to have 2 children and yourself of which I am pregnant drive a vehicle where the brakes will just stop working as they please.

The ABS light in our 2006 Chrysler Pacifica began coming on and the brakes are not reacting normally. The car has 47,000 miles and is out of warranty. Our dealership says this is a common problem with this car and will cost over $500 to repair. Apparently the wheel sensors are bad and have to be replaced. For such a widely occuring issue, with an obvious safety issue involved, I am disappointed that Chrysler has not included the 2006 models in a recall.

Most importantly, there is a safety issue of the brakes not reacting correctly during a stop. We have two small children in car seats and this makes we weary of driving with them in the car. The cost of having to repair such an odd problem for a new car is bothersome and hard to swallow as a consumer.

In October 2006 I purchased a pre-owned 2005 Chrysler Pacifica with approximately 20,000miles. In June of 2007 I began having problems with my ABS light coming on. I was out of town from June until September in Georgia and so I took it to a local dealer where the problem could be fixed. They said that my left rear wheel sensor needed to be replaced. My Pacifica still being under warranty, thankfully, the part was replaced.

I then began doing some research on the internet about this problem and found that several other people had encountered this same situation and had the same part replaced only to have the light come on AGAIN. This is exactly what happened to me!!!! Only now, my car is no longer under the manufacturer warranty. I am deployed in Afghanistan and so my Father took it to a mechanic to get some sort of diagnosis. They informed him that the left rear wheel sensor needed to be replaced AGAIN. And that it would cost $100. He paid the $100 only for the light not to go off!

So then the mechanics told him that they would need to calibrate the wheel-sensor, and that this would cost $125. He paid the $125... and you guessed it, the light is STILL ON! Now they are telling him that the code that came back from the diagnostic that they ran states that ALL wheel sensors need to be replaced and calibrated and that this will cost $900! And that if it doesn't get done that the light will remain on. They also said that this is a fault on CHRYSLER and the parts that they used when manufacturing the vehicle!

We bought a low mileage pre-owned 2005 Chrysler Pacifica Touring FWD in 2006. It has 39800 miles. Overall we have enjoyed the car BUT it has dangerous blind spots and brake issues. The ABS sensors have had to be completely replaced as the ABS warning light kept appearing. Our service contract covered that expense and it took 3 different visits to the dealership before they could get all the work done. Thank goodness we had purchased the extra Service Contract that covered the rent car and the repair work. But even after the ABS sensors were diagnozed and replaced, the brakes still groaned only on certain occasions when applied. The pedal felt mushy, like to the floor but did stop the vehicle eventhough it was concerning that the pedal would go to the floor without working sufficiently. Of course, I kept taking it back but the dealer could not duplicate. Finally, they told me at 37000 that the rotors needed to be resurfaced. I had that work done. However, the problem persisted. In fact it became more frequent. I took it back at 39800 miles, 2 months after the resurfacing work was done, and was informed that I needed to either resurface the rotors again or replace the rotors all together. And I needed new brake pads because the groaning was the pads interacting with the rotor rust. I understood that the brake pads were my responsibility but felt that Chrysler SHOULD replace the rotors for me as they had been properly maintained and still were not performing to the manufacturer's specifications. The dealership Service Manager did share with me that even when the rotors are resurfaced OR replaced, the problem would occur again as the parts that Chrysler uses tend to have problems with wear and tear etc. That was distressing to hear and because Chrysler has chosen to use inferior parts, I'm pursuing Chrysler to replace my rotors at no charge to me. I will replace the brake pads at my cost. This will give me time to TRADE IN my Pacifica on some other, more safe vehicle. I've also experienced a couple of minor engine lunges (sudden, unexplained acceleration) which is just another reason to get rid of it and never buy a Chrysler product again because you have to fight with them to reasonably stand behind their product and dealers.

I took it to the dealership (it's still under factory warranty)and they were unable to repeat the problem. My car is still at the dealership because I am afraid for my two young children to get in a car that will do that. I am writing regarding a problem I have with my 2004 Chrysler Pacifica AWD. It is currently in the shop having the entire fuel tank replaced. I have been reading on the internet about an investigation into this problem, but couldn't find out how to report my problem. My car was fine yesterday when I pulled out of the garage to take my daughter to ballet. I had 5 children in the car with me. Approximately 15 min after returning home, my daugher went into the garage to get something she had left in the car. She ran in to tell me the garage smelled of gas. I went outside to find a large puddle of gasoline under the car and the fuel tank steadily leaking. Apparently something had hit the connector that goes from the gas line into the tank and busted it. It is inexplicablely made of PLASTIC. Gas was pouring out of it.

Thankfully no one was hurt, but my whole family except my husband was in that car! Now I am having to replace the entire tank because it is made as one piece. The tank alone is $500.00 plus tax and labor.

Right after my 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe hit 38000 miles, I started noticing glitches in my windshield wipers. The intermittent functions were faulty and inconsistent at first. Then, after about another two weeks, the wipers started staying on after the switch was turned off. Soon, they were not shutting off at all unless I turned the entire vehicle off.

It became a serious problem once inclimate weather hit (November, 06). I spent nearly $1700 on an extended warranty for the truck and this was the very first claim. Needless to say, Buyer's Choice wouldn't cover the claim because Bob Richards told them the problem was with the windshield wiper motor cover kit (not the motor itself). The extended warranty also would not cover the cost of the diagnostic ($75.00) to see what the problem was with the wipers. So now I'm looking at paying an additional $200 to get the wipers fixed ($90.00 of that in labor fees). $275 for a historically faulty GM windshield wiper motor that went out barely 2000 miles over the factory warranty.

The Pacifica stalled twice while driving it. After these stalls, we received a notification of a national recall on Pacificas for this issue. We took it in and that problem was apparently fixed. Another safety issue arose when all the electronics in the car stopped working, denying my pregnant wife the ability to safely drive the vehicle. This problem happened to correlate to another national recall, of which we were never notified.

We were told by the service department that the electronic part was not available and backordered. However, when they tried to provide a rental car for our use, our two car seats could not be safely installed in any of the available rental cars. Apparently by miracle, the electronic part needed appeared at the dealership. After a three hour wait, the Pacifica’s electronic problems were apparently fixed.

Most recently, on Friday, February 11, our Pacifica would not start. I came home from work to deal with the situation. My wife had been trying to start it for several hours. It finally started, accompanied by a big ball of smoke from the exhaust area. We took it back to the dealership to have this problem diagnosed. Unhappy with recurring problems and poor service, we asked to speak to the Service Director, Stan Suggs. We told him we no longer trusted the safety of our car and wanted out of it. He promised his service department would perform an end-to-end checkup and evaluate it not starting.

Keith, our service representative, explained that they could not recreate the problem of the Pacifica not starting and that the end-to-end checkup, which consisted solely of hooking it up to a computer and looking for error codes, was satisfactory. Not being able to recreate the problem and fix it made us more nervous than if the problem was found and fixed. After a non-stop series of problems, often dangerous ones, and very poor service received, I no longer trust the Pacifica as a safe and dependable car for my family.

I am a U.S. Naval Officer. I am often out of town for weeks at a time for operational or training purposes. Additionally, there is always the possibility I can be deployed on short notice for six months or more to support the Global War on Terrorism. I originally bought the Pacifica to be a safe and dependable family car for my wife and two young daughters. It no longer meets those criteria.
